- 1:46enthusiastic it there's, there's just too much personality on the
- 1:50show. We are now talking to former and
- 1:53founder and CEO of Steiner Sports.
- 1:57The one and only, the man, the myth, the legend.
- 2:02Brandon Steiner. Brandon, what's up, buddy?
- 2:05Hello. Wow, a lot of energy going on on
- 2:08that show. I expect nothing less from the
- 2:11two of you and Miss Job. I don't get to see him as often
- 2:14as I used to, but he's still a legend.
- 2:16Well, at least the New Yorkie is.
- 2:18What's up Brandon, How you been, man?
- 2:20I've been phenomenal. Everything is great rocking and
- 2:23rolling. By the way, a little footnote,
- 2:25you know, I've listened to the show for a little while and I
- 2:28hear you about the Aaron, Aaron Rodgers thing.
- 2:30But there is a thing, you know, Mike Tomlin, I mean, he's, he's
- 2:36a great coach and I think he figured out a way to use Aaron a
- 2:39lot better than maybe The Jets did.
- 2:41Here's the thing. And I, I, I, you might be right.
- 2:44And I'm not saying Mike Tomlin. Throw that out.
- 2:46I'm not saying Mike Tomlin isn't a great coach, he's a winning
- 2:49coach. But guess what?
- 2:50Mike Tomlin 8 consecutive seasons going into the first
- 2:54round and being eliminated, he doesn't win the big game.
- 2:57I'm not saying Mike Tomlin doesn't figure out ways to get
- 3:00his quarterbacks to play well. He did it with Justin Fields, he
- 3:03did it with Russell Wilson, so he got those guys to play for
- 3:07him. And then going to the playoffs,
- 3:08at one point he was using Mason Rudolph.
- 3:10So it's not like Mike Tomlin doesn't know what he's doing.
- 3:14The problem with Mike Tomlin over the last couple of years is
- 3:17he just doesn't know how to get over the hump.
- 3:19And, and to say that I, I, I don't know if he figured out
- 3:22Aaron Rodgers. I think he just lets Aaron
- 3:24Rodgers be Aaron Rodgers. And what Aaron Rodgers likes to
- 3:27do is step inside the pocket and as long as he gets time to throw
- 3:32the ball, he's going to make those throws.
- 3:34They brought in DK Metcalf, they have other running back weapons.
- 3:38They have Warren, they have they brought in Gainwell, they have
- 3:42weapons and their offensive line is played a little bit better so
- 3:45far over the last couple of games.
- 3:47So I was very shocked to their defense played against
- 3:51Indianapolis. I will get into a little bit
- 3:53later. I Daniel Jones.
- 3:55That was the first time I could say that Daniel Jones look like
- 3:58a deer in a headlight since he's been with the Indianapolis
- 4:00Colts. So that was very impressive.
- 4:03The way Tomlin, you know, structured his defense against
- 4:07one of the best offenses in the NFL.
- 4:09There's no argument to that. But I.
- 4:11Think, I think it's I think it's really hard to win.
- 4:15I don't know if people understand how hard it is to
- 4:17win, let alone win consistently. One of the reasons why I like
- 4:20Tomlin, he does win consistently, but you got to win
- 4:23big. But he is like one of the
- 4:25longest tenure coaches. But I I just think in Major
- 4:28League sports it's really hard to win.
- 4:31And you don't really, unless you're on the inside and realize
- 4:34what the players have to go through, the movement of players
- 4:38between free agency contracts, it's just really hard to figure
- 4:43out how to get a bunch of guys together, keeping together, and
- 4:46then hopefully have the winning formula as more and more in this
- 4:50business. It's just, it just seemed to be
- 4:53getting more and more incredibly hard to win.
- 4:56And you see only a select group of teams win and there's a
- 5:00larger group of teams that don't win consistently.
- 5:04And to me, I just blame it on coaching and ownership.
- 5:07Brandon, I live in New York, OK? You do.
- 5:10I ruined. What a surprise.
- 5:12I live in New York and I have to deal with just terrible sports
- 5:17teams year in, a year out. I mean Knick fans.
- 5:19Want to drop a ball? Yeah, the Knick fans.
- 5:22Are you listening to the Knick fans right now on social media?
- 5:24They want to jump off a bridge because they haven't started off
- 5:27strong. And I said you got a new coach.
- 5:30It takes 25 games to figure out the rotation.
- 5:33It doesn't happen overnight. Nick do.
- 5:35You think they should have switched coaches?
- 5:37100 percent, 100%. I think Tom Thibodeau.
- 5:40I think Tom Thibodeau should have been gone two years ago.
- 5:43That's my honest opinion. I don't think he worked over
- 5:46there. He couldn't get this team over
- 5:47the hump. This team was so talented last
- 5:49year. They beat the Boston Celtics and
- 5:52I want to hear that Tatum went down in the final game.
- 5:54They were going to win that game no matter what.
- 5:57This Nick team was better than the Celtics and had more depth.
- 6:01The reason why they lost against Halliburton and the Indianapolis
- 6:04Pacers, there's only one reason why they don't play perimeter
- 6:09defense. And if you don't play perimeter
- 6:11defense against good guard play, you're not winning.
- 6:15And that's why the Knicks didn't win that series and they have a
- 6:18guy like Karl Anthony Towns shooting up 90 foot jumpers at 3
- 6:22pointer, shooting 3 pointers. Of the court, but that's his
- 6:25game. But Jalen Brunson got exposed on
- 6:28the defense. Yes, he did.
- 6:29I wonder what's going to happen if he can actually pick up the
- 6:32pace on the defense and also not have to have the ball in his
- 6:35hand all the time. But he lives one block from me.
- 6:38You know a lot of the Knicks, I have a indoor full court
- 6:40basketball court in my house and a lot of the Knicks work out
- 6:43here. So I get all all the skinny.
- 6:45I let him use the court. But then I got to ask questions.
- 6:48But Jalen hasn't come over here yet.
- 6:50He only moved. Here, Brandon, you're still in
- 6:52the same house. Yeah.
- 6:54Oh yeah, I thought you were moving.
- 6:56Right. Now where am I going?
- 6:59I mean, I've known you a long time.
- 7:01You've been in that house for a while.
- 7:03I've been in the house for 22 years, 20,000 square feet, just
- 7:06me and my wife. My wife doesn't want to move.
- 7:09I have no choice. I don't get any speaking lines.
- 7:12You know, I'm like, I'm no different than everybody else
- 7:14listening. You know I'm not.
- 7:15You think I'm calling the final shots here?
- 7:18Well, I knew. I know that.
- 7:20There's no way, somebody asked him.
- 7:22I'm not complaining, I'm explaining, but it's not right
- 7:25now there. There's no move happening
- 7:27anytime soon. But you know, I love it.
- 7:29It's it's I'm great grateful to have had the career and some of
- 7:33the things I've been able to do. I'm just shocked that the new
- 7:36company is even working. I'm just, it's just amazed that,
- 7:41you know, you don't really know. You can have a bad day, which I
- 7:44had a bad day when I got moved out of Stein or was not a happy
- 7:47day. But you know, I didn't have a
- 7:49bad past and, you know, the customers followed me.
- 7:54I tell people of them, you can have a bad day, you can have a
- 7:56bad past. And I think it's just important,
- 7:58you know, especially in the collectible business and with
- 8:01athletes, you know, you don't get it, You don't get a second
- 8:03chance with a lot of athletes. And you got to make sure that,
- 8:06you know, with collectibles, there's only one way to go and
- 8:08that's making sure this stuff is real, it's authentic and you're
- 8:11doing the right thing for people.
- 8:13So I've been very lucky. What's crazy is how much stuff
- 8:17people have. I, I just can't believe how much
- 8:19stuff. I mean, I put out about 40
- 8:21million autographs. I figure maybe a little more,
- 8:24but I can't believe the collections that are becoming to
- 8:27me now. They're huge.
- 8:29I mean, just thousands of pieces.
- 8:30I'm like. Brandon.
- 8:32Brandon. Brandon.
- 8:33Brandon. You.
- 8:35You. You're talking about 40 million
- 8:36autographs. I mean, who's better than you?
- 8:39How do you have a bad day? What is a bad day for Brandon
- 8:43Steiner? Please tell me.
- 8:45Oh, my wife didn't make me breakfast.
- 8:47Please tell me what? Was a peasant cook for me in in
- 8:50the 38 years were married. That was part of the deal, but
- 8:53there's little complaints there. You know, probably a bad day is,
- 8:56you know, negotiating with Ewing, his new contract and and
- 9:00you know, the direct, you know, the athletes now I'm very
- 9:04grateful. I've I've I've had mostly really
- 9:07good experience with most players.
- 9:09But you know, listen, the athletes have gotten big, the
- 9:11contracts have gotten big, and then my category has gotten
- 9:14smaller, even though the category has gotten bigger.
- 9:17And you know, listen, it's tough to go to a guy with a few 100
- 9:20grand when they're making $20 million a year.
- 9:23So that part has been difficult. And let listen, you know, I'm
- 9:26competing, you know, you want to win and winning is, you know,
- 9:29getting these fans and getting my customers, you know what they
- 9:33want, getting them opportunities to meet the fans and the meet
- 9:37the players. And you know, that's that's
- 9:39that's the whole gig. It's like, you know, when Java
- 9:42was on the Yankees, like people meeting Java was a huge deal.
- 9:46And he was extremely gracious and great about it.
- 9:48Like, and he had hair stuff accessible and he had hair.
- 9:51He's amazing. Yeah, he had hair and believe
- 9:54me, he had balls too, man. There's no question.
- 9:56There's no doubt. I mean, there is a personality
- 9:58and and you know, you don't get a lot of job as they come
- 10:01through. You know, you don't get that
- 10:02kind of energy, enthusiasm and enjoyment of the whole situation
- 10:07like Jabba. But when you do, it's, you know,
- 10:10now I haven't done this that long.
- 10:11I I have to take advantage of it because it doesn't always happen
- 10:15that way. And it's it's hard to be a New
- 10:17York Yankee, by the way. So I don't have that many bad
- 10:20days. You're right.
- 10:21You, you called me on that and that's true.
- 10:23But I think that to me, how great, I mean, what a great time
- 10:28of year. I mean, you're talking about
- 10:29every sports going on. I don't even have to talk to my
- 10:32wife. I've got college basketball.
- 10:34I got NFL football, Monday Night Football tonight.
- 10:36I love your show. I love these.
- 10:39I think this is the future live streaming where people can
- 10:42interact. They can kind of chime in.
- 10:45I do a show now on Whatnot, which I can't believe like
- 10:47tomorrow night I'll be on Whatnot with Joe Hollywood.
- 10:50We do this show from 8:00 at night to 6:00 in the morning.
- 10:54We sell thousands and thousands of things.
- 10:57I never thought I'd be doing it, but what I love about the live
- 11:00stream is that you're on like a platform like we're on now,
- 11:04except people buying stuff left and right and, and you can
- 11:07communicate with the people that are buying all night and you
- 11:11find out what you what you they like, what they don't like
- 11:14talking sports. It's it's amazing.
- 11:16It's amazing how much, how much now you can be in touch with
- 11:19your customer if you want to and I'm enjoying that part of the
- 11:23business a lot. We are talking to the founder
- 11:26and former CEO of Steiner Sports, Brandon Steiner.
- 11:28He also right now runs, he's the CEO of Collectible Exchange and
- 11:33the Steiner Agency. I wonder what the Steiner Agency
- 11:36will have to know. You'll probably have to explain
- 11:39that to us. I want to get into the
- 11:41background of New York sports right now.
- 11:45And we were just making fun of it because let's be honest, the
- 11:49Giants stink, The Jets, the Islanders are young team.
- 11:52The Rangers look like they're you know, but they look like
- 11:55they're a deer in the headlights.
- 11:57You have the Knicks. They're going to be good.
- 11:59I believe they'll be good in the the Brooklyn Nets well enough.
- 12:03Terrible. And you look at New York sports
- 12:05and you wonder, you know, Brandon, you, you, you look at
- 12:09it and you understand what it is and what it's all about.
- 12:12And New York Knick basketball, they haven't won a championship
- 12:15since the 70s. New York Jet football, they
- 12:18haven't won since 69. New York Giant football, they
- 12:21haven't won since 2011. I could go on and on and on.
- 12:24How about the Mets 1986? Why is it that New York sports
- 12:30hasn't been as dominant as maybe Boston or.
- 12:34Stanley Why? By the way, you didn't mention
- 12:36the Rangers. They suck too.
- 12:37But. I did, I did.
- 12:38I said the deer in the hell. Here's the thing, I think.
- 12:41The Guardian, by the way, the tickets are incredibly high at
- 12:44the Garden. I don't know why, And incredibly
- 12:47expensive. I mean, a regular everyday
- 12:49ticket is like playoff ticket money.
- 12:52But I think the Garden, I think a lot of players, when it comes
- 12:55down to it, it's not a big deal to come to New York anymore.
- 12:58You're not doing it for Madison Ave.
- 13:00You're not doing it for the extra money.
- 13:01You're not doing it for the extra hype.
- 13:03You get just as much hype as any market as you do in New York.
- 13:06So there's no more of an edge. You play at the Garden, right?
- 13:10You're practicing up in Westchester.
- 13:12So one way or the other, you're you're a big guy or you're, you
- 13:16know, you know, between practice workouts, the practice facility
- 13:21is an hour and a half away from where you play the games.
- 13:25So already that's no good. That's a waste.
- 13:27And that's a big mistake on the Gardens part.
- 13:30I think The Jets have a practice facility like an hour away from
- 13:33the Meadowlands. That's a mistake.
- 13:35That's a problem. I think playing on the Yankees,
- 13:38it's not the same as it used to be.
- 13:41It's a big deal to play in the Yankee Stadium, but not as big a
- 13:43deal and the pressures that come with it.
- 13:46And that's, listen, I love Derek Jeter probably is responsible
- 13:50for a big part of my career, but the one thing him and I never
- 13:52saw, I, I with said, if you don't win a championship, the
- 13:55season's a bust and it puts just enormous pressure.
- 13:59I mean, we went to the World Series last year, people acted
- 14:01like we were a complete disaster.
- 14:04And this year, believe it or not, we we made a couple
- 14:07mistakes in August that really came back to haunt us.
- 14:10But that team was as good as Toronto, right right along with
- 14:14them at the same record. And believe it or not, if they
- 14:17would have won the division, they may even had a chance to
- 14:19maybe go to World Series. That's how good the team was.
- 14:21This is the first time when I was at Aaron Booth's house the
- 14:24other day, he was still really disappointed because he felt
- 14:28like he had a team that was hot at the right time.
- 14:30They definitely had the talent and they had a good chance to go
- 14:33to the World Series. I just think, you know, when I
- 14:36look at, when I look at New York sports, the amount of media, the
- 14:41it's not the safest place these days.
- 14:43You know, do you want to bring your family here?
- 14:46There's not enough an advantage. You don't have the tax advantage
- 14:49and go on and on. We we need to start thinking
- 14:52about how we start treating our athletes.
- 14:54I mean, there's a lot of pressure, you know, where we
- 14:56should just be, you know, calming down.
- 14:58Otherwise, we're just not going to produce winners.
- 15:00So you don't want to be like Phil Jackson.
- 15:02You don't want to be like Phil writing a book and talking about
- 15:05Carmelo Anthony. And you don't want to do that.
- 15:08Is that is that what you're trying to say?
- 15:10I don't want to do that. I'm I'm happy with what I'm
- 15:12doing. I wish the teams here were
- 15:14winning a little bit more, but I've taken advantage of what's
- 15:16going on around the country. And plus you have a whole bunch
- 15:19of new sports leagues. To me, college is, is pro.
- 15:22So I'm, I'm, I'm, you know, I do Michigan collectibles, St.
- 15:25John's collectibles, Syracuse collectibles.
- 15:29I'm, I'm happy now taking advantage of the college, you
- 15:32know, the college kids. That's like pro.
- 15:34That's the whole thing in itself.
- 15:35I mean, I think St. John's going to be going to a
- 15:37final four. I'd love to see the Big East
- 15:40tournament with Saint John's AU Conn in the finals.
- 15:42It's going to be a really big deal this year.
- 15:45That may be a little bit of a boost to New York sports.
- 15:48I think the Mets are going to finally figure it out.
- 15:50I think Steve Cohen's got the money and he's a figure it out
- 15:53guy. But you're right, it's been
- 15:55disappointing so far. And a lot of it is he doesn't
- 15:58have the right management. You know, people don't realize
- 16:01how important ownership and management is.
- 16:04And the Yankees, love them or hate them, they have really good
- 16:07management. They always figure out at least
- 16:09get to the playoffs. And I think there's something to
- 16:12be said about that. You can kill Tomlin about not
- 16:14getting over the hump, but there's something to be said
- 16:17about least, least making a playoff year and you're out and
- 16:19knowing your team has a chance. It's disappointing, but it's
- 16:22even more disappointing not never make the playoffs.
- 16:24And I can tell you a ton of teams that never make the
- 16:27playoffs ever. And then for me, it's in my
- 16:30business at Collectible Exchange.
- 16:32Nobody wants to buy those teams that are constantly losing and
- 16:35just shorts the market. I want everybody to win.
- 16:38It's a big help to me. Yeah, I want to ask you.
- 16:40Speaking, Speaking of the Big East tournament, though,
- 16:42Brandon, one of my restaurant sponsors, we're one of the main
- 16:45sponsors for the Big East tournament, so.
- 16:47It's going to be huge. The big.
- 16:49The Big East is the best league. I don't care.
- 16:52I think it's the best league. I miss the old Big East.
- 16:56I'm an old school guy at the old Villanova, Syracuse, Georgetown,
- 17:00Syracuse, John Thompson. I mean, but the biggies now is
- 17:05probably the best conference and focus on basketball with a lot
- 17:08of those teams, which I love. They're not football schools
- 17:12that do basketball. And all those schools are ponied
- 17:15up money. All of them will put money in.
- 17:18UCONN's got a lot of money. Saint John's got a lot of money.
- 17:21Villanova put some extra money in their hat that they should be
- 17:23better. It's going to be really fun.
- 17:26College basketball would be fun. It's it's, it's another level of
- 17:29probe. It's another pro league where
- 17:32you know they have to play a little bit defensive.
- 17:33That's the problem. That's Brandon.
- 17:35That's the problem. Because everybody talks about,
- 17:38you know, college sports and how great it is.
- 17:40And I, I admit the tournament is the best time of year.
- 17:43I mean, who doesn't have their eyes locked in?
- 17:46But here's the problem, the analysts are horrible.
- 17:49The the broadcasting, the way they're bringing in it, bringing
- 17:52it to the forefront. I don't think it's it's
- 17:54beneficial for the sport to grow the way some of these
- 17:57organizations like Fox and ESPN, the way they're bringing it to
- 18:02and not valuing it and putting the best talent up there for
- 18:06them to promote their product to be one of the biggest products
- 18:09in the world. They have a little ways to go.
- 18:11They're going to get there. By the way, just my little bitch
- 18:13of the night. I can't even get ESPN.
- 18:17I just told my wife it's like where's ESPNI have YouTube TV,
- 18:22they whacked ESPN and ABCI can't even watch Monday night.
- 18:25They need to, that's the Brandon.
- 18:27They need to hire us because we're the best.
- 18:29I mean, we are the best. I mean, job are you, are we, are
- 18:32we wrong here? I think you're going to see a
- 18:34lot more of these channels hiring guys like you, like this
- 18:37show even. Yes, I hired John Boys and those
- 18:41guys like I think people want more real stuff like this.
- 18:46I think we've already seen the canned play by play com it's
- 18:51boring. I think you know, even the S
- 18:54network, they just made some changes with their broadcasters
- 18:56like it was just boring. It was bad and and people want
- 19:00more. They want more fun, they want
- 19:02more excitement. If I'm going to sit there and
- 19:03listen for two or three hours, I want more interaction.
- 19:07I want to be more fun, I want to be more insightful.
- 19:10I think that's. That's why they've done a lot of
- 19:12the stuff of like during the game as far as like interviews
- 19:15with the manager and, and even the players too.
- 19:17So I think you're right. It's it's kind of gotten boring.
- 19:21And I think more if you're trying to draw to a bigger crowd
- 19:24in a bigger market, especially, you know, the younger ones, they
- 19:27this is what they do. They're interactive.
- 19:30They want to see it as, you know, as it's going on with you
- 19:33and like, be a fan as much as they are getting information
- 19:37about. Why do you think the Manning
- 19:38cast has been so great? Because it's two brothers
- 19:40sitting there, you know, shooting the shit, just
- 19:42basically telling you about the game and, and you feel like
- 19:45you're a part like in their garage with them watching the
- 19:47game. And for me, that's more
- 19:49enjoyable. I mean, I'm, I'm a fan of the
- 19:51game longer than I was able to play it.
- 19:53So, you know, when they do those, you know, in the
- 19:55clubhouses where they're sitting there on MLB Network and stuff
- 19:58like that. Like I enjoy that because I like
- 20:00the interactive back and forth sometimes as the the manager
- 20:04interviews during the game when it's like in the 6th or 7th
- 20:07inning, I'm like, yeah, I kind of scratch my head every once in
- 20:09a while, but. I I like some of the things
- 20:12they've done. You sure it's your head?
- 20:13It's not your ass. For.
- 20:18That. I would love to, you know, to
- 20:22me, when you watch a game with a person who's played the game on
- 20:26a professional level, it's another common, I mean, I I've,
- 20:31I've gone to games at courtside and gone home with a player that
- 20:34was in the game and I have no idea what I was watching.
- 20:37Like, I just wish they would have more commentary for more
- 20:41players that were in the game and not to mention the game
- 20:44recently. I'm disappointed in Tom Brady.
- 20:46I thought he was going to be better.
- 20:48You know, Tony Romo was really good the first few years and I
- 20:52guess he just gave up on or maybe they told.
- 20:54Him he was. Like calling every freaking
- 20:56play, it was unbelievable. That's what it is.
- 21:02Money makes the world go right. And just what it is with Tony
- 21:05Romo's You just can't give him the Chiefs Bills game because
- 21:07he'll just gust over both quarterbacks like a teenage
- 21:10girl. And now he owns.
- 21:11And now he owns a. Poll terrible yesterday he
- 21:13fucked up the game. Now, yeah, it's terrible.
- 21:16And and why does the NFL make rules that work for him?
- 21:19I mean, he owns a piece of Las Vegas and now he can actually be
- 21:23an analyst at a Vegas Raider game.
- 21:26How does that make any sense? It's been in the rule book
- 21:28forever, but it's Tom Brady's. So you know what?
- 21:31Let's break the rule. Who cares what the NFL?
- 21:34Have you mind if he was good? He's not any good.
- 21:37He's not Just like when I look look at Fox and I look at the
- 21:41post game, if I can even understand what David Ortiz is
- 21:43saying. A Rod's never going to say
- 21:46anything. Controversy.
- 21:47He's trying to make everybody happy, guys, You know, you know,
- 21:50you know his ringtone is Ding a Wing A wing.
- 21:52You know what that is? That's the Mr. Softly truck
- 21:54coming down the street. Oh, please.
- 21:56I mean come on, man, say something that's controversial
- 21:59and those guys know better. That's what pisses me off.
- 22:01They know a lot more than we so, but they don't say it, Brandon.
- 22:05So jeter's never going to be controversy.
- 22:07He's never going to say something that's going to be Oh
- 22:10my God, that's that was this bullshit what they did?
- 22:13I mean, how do they not even talk about and I like I will
- 22:17kind of fluff. I was a good Yankee, but how are
- 22:21you not talking about the fact he didn't take the the
- 22:23appropriate lead on third base? The reason why I didn't take the
- 22:26appropriate lead at third base was the guy got picked off the
- 22:29night before at 2nd and he didn't want to have it happen to
- 22:31him and it cost him the game. I mean, there's so many little
- 22:34things that happened. It's almost like watching
- 22:37Rebecca Lobo doing the WNBA games because she's freaking
- 22:40horrible. She's the worst.
- 22:42I don't even know what she's. I mean, she played and she
- 22:45doesn't want to say anything gothic.
- 22:47She says something critical. I mean, really bad stuff is
- 22:50happening. She has a brilliant.
- 22:51Brandon, if you actually, if you listen to this show, you know,
- 22:54we, we don't hide behind our voices.
- 22:56We, we, we explain and, and what we feel is what you get.
- 23:01And it doesn't really matter what anybody thinks on this
- 23:03show. But you said it, you said it
- 23:04best kind of falafel because that's all he was.
- 23:07He was a dead falafel at third base.
- 23:09And as far as as far as I'm concerned, when I.
- 23:13Should have had a bigger lead. Yeah, he should have.
- 23:15Well, come on. Brandon.
- 23:17The funny part is Arrow would still rather have him on the
- 23:19team than Jazz Chisholm. You're damn right.
- 23:21And I don't call him Jazz Chisholm.
- 23:22You know what I call him? Anybody that listens to the show
- 23:25knows what I call him. Jabba doesn't want me to.
- 23:27Call him. I want to hear it.
- 23:28I don't know. What do you call?
- 23:29Him. I call him Jazz Jism.
- 23:36Java looks at me and he's. He's been, he's been waiting to
- 23:39say that. I got it.
- 23:42I got a jersey made and it's coming in the mail.
- 23:45When I get it, I'm going to wear it with pride.
- 23:48I also named Travis Hunter, gave him a nickname.
- 23:51I was at the Heisman. So Brandon.
- 23:53And by the way, we are speaking to the former founder and CEO of
- 23:59Steiner Sports, Brandon Steiner, who also owns a collectible
- 24:01exchange and the Steiner Agency. If you don't know who he is,
- 24:05well, then shame on you. I was at the Heisman Trophy
- 24:10dinner, OK, And Travis Hunter was there and everybody was like
- 24:14flocking to him. And I wasn't.
- 24:16I was interested in Gabriel and Ward and and Ashton Genti.
- 24:20I was into those guys. I was not into Travis Hunter
- 24:23because I couldn't. I just didn't like his
- 24:26personality. So.
- 24:27So we're standing up there and they're taking pictures with the
- 24:29trophy and you see Ashton Genti talking to him and Ward's right
- 24:34on the other side of them. So they're talking and they're
- 24:37talking about. So I mentioned award to you.
- 24:40You mentioned the Giants that if the Giants pick you, you know,
- 24:43it would be great to go and play for the New York Giants.
- 24:46I said, what about The Jets and Travis?
- 24:48Travis open his big fat mouth and he says nobody wants to play
- 24:52with The Jets. They're a bunch of losers.
- 24:54And I turned around. I said, well, you're right,
- 24:56because we're not going to draft you because we got a better a
- 24:58better player than you'll ever be in Sauz Garner.
- 25:01And I walked away and every single writer looked at me and
- 25:05their mouth dropped. And then this writer Scooby
- 25:08speed. We've had him on the show.
- 25:10He he sat there. He said, I can't believe you
- 25:13just said that to the the the future or the next Heisman
- 25:17Trophy. When I said anybody that votes
- 25:20him in is an idiot. So and and and I said that he's
- 25:23going to fail seven years in the NFL and he is he's going to
- 25:26fail. And I gave him the nickname the
- 25:28Gremlin. He looks like the Gremlin.
- 25:30So I've got a jersey made #12 the Gremlin put on the back of
- 25:36it. And when?
- 25:37Now, are you a red zone guy on Sunday?
- 25:39I mean, is that you just you got to watch it all or do you have a
- 25:41favorite? So so I am AI am a Jets fan, but
- 25:45I'm also an Eagles fan. I grew up a Donovan McNabb fan,
- 25:48so I know that possible. I know here we go here we go
- 25:53here we go. So here's how it was possible.
- 25:55I grew up, I'm going to tell you.
- 25:58So I followed Donovan when he was in high school and when he
- 26:01went to Syracuse. I, I just fell in love with his
- 26:04game. So I knew wherever he was going
- 26:06to go because I knew he was going to be a top three, top
- 26:08four pick. Wherever he was going to go, I
- 26:10was going to root for that team, no matter if I was a Jet fan or
- 26:12not. He went to the Eagles and
- 26:15everybody was like, how could you root for the Eagles?
- 26:17But and then everybody thought it was the green and white.
- 26:20I was like, it has nothing to do with the green and white.
- 26:23As a matter of fact, I hate the color green.
- 26:25So. So Donovan is, I've met him a
- 26:29couple of times and Donovan was such a straightforward.
- 26:32He went to Syracuse. Yeah, he went to Syracuse.
- 26:36I know, I know. I went to Syracuse.
- 26:37No, no, no, no, I no, I didn't go to Syracuse.
- 26:39Come on. And I.
- 26:40He didn't. He didn't go to school, Brandon.
- 26:42No, that's I did go to school. What are you talking about?
- 26:45It's such a let's see what it is.
- 26:47OK, Brandon, that now job is now he's now he's reaching here.
- 26:50I did go to school. I do have a degree, but I hurt
- 26:55my knee. I was a hockey player and I had
- 26:58an opportunity to play Division One hockey and and the story
- 27:01goes I was a really good hockey player.
- 27:04But it it didn't come to fruition as Jabba would put it
- 27:07in his own little strategic way with his nice little beady
- 27:11glasses and his bald little head.
- 27:13But I honestly would tell you that competition in professional
- 27:18sports I don't know anything about because I never played
- 27:21professional sports, but I played against top and athletes.
- 27:25I played against Sidney Crosby, I played against some of the
- 27:29Rangers when I was skating with them when I was a kid.
- 27:31Mark Messy, Adam Gray's, Brian Leach, Vladimir Molikoff, Darius
- 27:34Kasparitis. I skated with those guys and I
- 27:37can compete with them. So to sit here, Mr. Chamberlain,
- 27:42I would tell. You Is there video evidence of
- 27:45this? Because I'd like to see.
- 27:45It I'll tell you what I'll tell you.
- 27:47What I'm asking Messi, I'm calling Messi.
- 27:50Go call him. Go call him, tell him, tell him.
- 27:53The old little skinny scrawny arrow marks can tell you to, you
- 27:58know, keep winning. I.
- 27:59Mean, I got to change the subject for one minute here.
- 28:01I got to ask Java a question. Go ahead, hit it.
- 28:04It's been driving me crazy but I was like I'm going to ask him
- 28:06when I see him. I don't know where this is going
- 28:09by the way. I'm changing direction
- 28:11completely. I mean, I'm assuming that
- 28:13everything he said about his hockey crew is true.
- 28:15And I'm going to buy him. I'm going to give him.
- 28:17I'm going to give it to him because there's not a lot of New
- 28:20Yorkers that, you know, could talk about becoming a really
- 28:22great hockey player at all because there's no rinks.
- 28:25But Jabba, you're on the mound in Cleveland.
- 28:28The bugs are all over you, right?
- 28:31When you look back on it now that's I don't know how many
- 28:33years ago. So they've stopped the game.
- 28:35When you look back on that, should have stopped the game.
- 28:39I mean, I was so young, I had like, looking back now, if it
- 28:43if, if it happened now, yeah, probably.
- 28:46But I mean, I didn't I didn't do my job at the end of the day.
- 28:49So it was really my fault. I didn't I didn't say anything.
- 28:52Obviously Joe Joe was like, that's his only regret, which it
- 28:56in turn, it really wasn't his his fault.
- 28:59No, there it is. The bugs got me.
- 29:02I gotta say, Job, you were unstoppable, man.
- 29:04You were forced to be that dealt with.
- 29:06It was unbelievable. It was a.
- 29:07It was fun. And you kept me busy too.
- 29:09My hand would cramp up during sessions with you though.
- 29:12And. Because you signed your whole
- 29:14freaking name. I have a lot of respect.
- 29:15Nobody. Nobody.
- 29:16I didn't expect to come into this.
- 29:18Nobody told me what I was supposed to do.
- 29:20I love the fact that you signed both names.
- 29:22You could read it. I think that was cool.
- 29:25People another show job. I do.
- 29:28I mean, I, I practiced a lot in school, so I had a lot of
- 29:30practices. I had no.
- 29:32Not my choice. Yeah, I know, right?
- 29:34That went over like a fart in church.
- 29:38Now could you could if you come back to old Timers day, could
- 29:41you still throw some strikes? Yeah, I played well, Carter's,
- 29:45Carter's now a sophomore in college, so I played long toss
- 29:47with Carter all the time. Wow, I just remember it was like
- 29:50yesterday he was having a catch on the field with him.
- 29:52Yeah, I know. You're telling me?
- 29:53Oh my God, now he's. Taller than me.
- 29:55He's literally 65 now. Where is he going to school?
- 29:59He's at a junior College in Kansas.
- 30:01Wow, he's probably got. He may have the stuff you got.
- 30:04You were a late bloomer from not speaking.
- 30:07Yeah, he's grown late too, so. Brandon, in many different ways,
- 30:11late blooming, in many different ways, I'm talking about my son,
- 30:15talking about you. Oh, me.
- 30:18Oh, I thought you're talking about my son I was about to have
- 30:20to slap. You.
- 30:21I'm talking about you. How are you going to slap me
- 30:24across the screen, man? What are we?
- 30:25We. What are we doing here?
- 30:27Do we have, like magical powers? You can work.
- 30:29It's coming soon. I was just going to say there'll
- 30:32be a button that comes out of like our computer.
- 30:34Java's going to. Java's going to have invent some
- 30:36dude wipes with instant teleportation to get over here
- 30:38and it's a slap. As long as she's using dude
- 30:41wipes and taking care of my 2 hole I'm good.
- 30:42I just got to give him the dude wipes today.
- 30:48Pulled it out of my ass. By the way, I have one more
- 30:52observation on the football thing.
- 30:54I don't know about you, I just thought Kansas City just doesn't
- 30:57look that good. They're not they're not good.
- 30:59They're. Just not.
- 31:00They could say, could build it up all they wanted and they were
- 31:03definitely trying, but they're just not that good.
- 31:06They're old. And, and you can see it, Jones
- 31:08is not the same player as he was.
- 31:10And, and I think obviously the team is is getting up there in
- 31:15agents. Bagnola is getting up there in
- 31:16ages as a defensive coordinator. He was offered or he was looking
- 31:20at, you know, opportunities in the offseason.
- 31:23He was interviewing, interviewing for jobs.
- 31:25He didn't get one of those jobs. And now you're starting to sit
- 31:28there and and believe that he's probably never going to get
- 31:31another coaching job. He failed over there with the
- 31:34Saint Louis Rams and, and the Giants.
- 31:38Well, he didn't fail. He won.
- 31:39He was a defensive coordinator when they won a Super Bowl.
- 31:42So, so it's not like he failed. I and he comes from that patent,
- 31:47that Eagles style of defence. So if you, if you're an Eagles
- 31:51fan over, you know, in the 80s and the 90s.
- 31:54So I, I just think that obviously when when you look at
- 31:58the, the particulars of new and I going back to New York sports
- 32:01and what really bothers me about New York sports is it does how
- 32:04many coaches, how many coaches does The Jets need to bring in
- 32:08to get it right? How many coaches did the Giants
- 32:10and the Knicks had like the? Ownership, ownership.
- 32:14The Jets, they should sell that. I think Dolan should sell the
- 32:18Rangers and only own one of the teams.
- 32:20Too much that the Globe, it's ownership.
- 32:24And I'm I'm not a Dolanator. I like Dolan.
- 32:27He turned a billion into 12. I mean, he's a winner to me, but
- 32:31it's so much to manage and you need hands on, really smart,
- 32:36supportive ownership. Don't don't forget the biggest
- 32:39thing he's a he likes to own, and that's his his band of his
- 32:42horrible singing voice. But it's still, I mean, that's a
- 32:46product. But when you look at his assets,
- 32:48if you're in business to make money, he's done well.
- 32:51Yeah. And the garden is a great place
- 32:53to watch a game. It's still a lot of money, but I
- 32:56don't. I just think it's too much.
- 32:58It's too much between everything going on, the Garden, the Globe,
- 33:02Radio City Beacon, I mean, it's just too much.
- 33:05And I think it's tough, tough when you don't have the
- 33:08ownership having his hand in things a little.
- 33:10Bit you know what I'm going to do?
- 33:11I'm going to reach out to James Dolan and I'm going to see if me
- 33:14and Jabba could be his backup singers.
- 33:16What do you think, Jabba? You think you could give me an
- 33:18A? Give me an.
- 33:20AI was on Broadway twice. Where were you, this scarecrow?
- 33:29No, I was with the rocket agent. I'm just messing with you.
- 33:31I'm messing with you bad. Do you save any of your game you
- 33:36stuff? Do you save any of it?
- 33:38Yeah, I got, I got a lot of it actually.
- 33:40Actually that this one right here is one of the ones you sent
- 33:42me. That's from, I think that was my
- 33:45sign from the last or the first think first homestand of the new
- 33:50stadium. I could take it off the wall.
- 33:52It has your handwriting on the back.
- 33:55That's cool. Yeah, I got all this.
- 33:57I'd still. And I have the seats you sent me
- 33:59from the old stadium too. Nice.
- 34:01Well, Brandon, I we've got news for you.
- 34:03November 17th, Jabba in the mouth is going to be where boys?
- 34:09Speedy Carmines, we're going to be at Carmine's.
- 34:12Why don't you come down and hang out with us?
- 34:14November 17th or Monday night? Monday night, we're going to be
- 34:17there. Monday night you should come
- 34:18down and hang out with us. I'll try to make it.
- 34:21It's we're going to put on a show.
- 34:23We're going to put on a show. It might scare.
- 34:25People on the West Side or Carmen's in Midtown.
- 34:27I think it's Midtown, yes. Oh popping, I like that place.
- 34:31Then after that we can go to my restaurant, which is not too far
- 34:34from there. Which is your restaurant now?
- 34:36American Whiskey 30th between 7th and 8th.
- 34:39Oh, you parted with, what's his name?
- 34:42Kevin Ushangi. Yeah.
- 34:44Yep. That's cool.
- 34:46You should come down and. Been there like 13 years now.
- 34:51By the way, anybody listening, if they want to copy my book,
- 34:54you know I told you 4 books. Happy to send you a free copy.
- 34:58Just absolutely you message me. Yeah, absolutely.
- 35:01Send it. You know, listen, Jabba won't
- 35:03read it. I love books.
- 35:04There's a lot of pictures in there, though, Jabba I, I, you
- 35:07know, I, I, there's a lot of people who care.
- 35:09I I have trouble reading myself, but I put a lot of fictions in
- 35:12there. Brandon, who was I've I've I was
- 35:15thinking about this the other day.
- 35:17Somebody sent me something. Who was that idiot you bought my
- 35:20contract from when I was in AA? There's a guy that go.
- 35:23Suck on a in in. I, I just don't know.
- 35:26There was a guy that I bought Jeter's.
- 35:29I bought Jeter's scouting report and sold that for $350,000 and
- 35:35then we bought the replica rights to it.
- 35:37So we're just making copies of it and selling it.
- 35:39But we had we sold that for 350,000.
- 35:43Yeah, I was in. I was in AA and this dude signed
- 35:46me early and then once I got to the big leagues, you, but it's I
- 35:49think his name, he didn't last very long.
- 35:50He was, he was an idiot, but he paid me 100 grand off the bat
- 35:53and I was in. Oh, yeah, I was.
- 35:54What's his name? The short little guy.
- 35:56Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. The short little guy, Mugsy Bo,
- 36:00he was like the guy. He was the guy who like
- 36:02represented Son of Sam with some crazy shit.
- 36:04Yeah, I don't know, but he was like, I was in AA signing like a
- 36:07serial killer, signing cards and stuff at a Cracker Barrel.
- 36:11And this dude, I was right after the All Star game and then he's
- 36:14like he wants to pay you 100 grand in AA.
- 36:16And I was making like 315 bucks every two weeks.
- 36:19So I was like, sure. Now we removed him out.
- 36:23On it. Oh, yeah, yeah, You bought.
- 36:24You bought him out quick. And then, yeah.
- 36:27I was with you forever. Diarrhea down their leg and like
- 36:34a. Story This guy was.
- 36:36Well, we have a soundboard, we have a sound.
- 36:38His his check. Cleared though, so I was good.
- 36:41Yeah, yeah, yeah. Listen, I don't know if people
- 36:43realize how hard it is till you get to the big leagues playing
- 36:49with like the plane, single AA, you're in like a one bedroom
- 36:52with four other guys hoping that you're, you know, you're eating
- 36:56the food that they serve at the ballpark.
- 36:58That's all you could afford. I mean, it's it's it's no joke.
- 37:02It's a little better now, but not that much better unless
- 37:04you're one of these guys who came out and signed a big
- 37:06contract right out of the draft, which is only a few guys here
- 37:09and there. The difficulty and then the UPS
- 37:12and down. They send you down, they send
- 37:14you up. You know you're still paying for
- 37:17both places. It's really the only place.
- 37:19If they send you up, they only give you one week in a hotel.
- 37:22That's it. Then you're on your own where
- 37:23you're supposed to get furniture from where you're supposed to
- 37:25live. People don't realize how hard it
- 37:28is the first few years when you come up.
- 37:30Which is why when guys become free agents, they want it.
- 37:34They want their money and they deserve it.
- 37:36They've earned it. It's back pay.
- 37:39Well, am I wrong Jabo? No, no, I mean, even when even
- 37:43when you go it's, it's still, it's like, OK, if you're going
- 37:45to a new city, it's still like tough like first of all, finding
- 37:49a place. OK, who where do, who do I get
- 37:51to, you know, find me a place that, you know, OK, I I have to
- 37:55have dogs and whatever. It's it's a lot like that people
- 37:58don't think about as a whole. And you're still trying to
- 38:01compete, keep your job and and move a family and, and all kind
- 38:04of yeah, it's you don't really think about it.
- 38:07I just, I just built a new house and got moved in and I'd never
- 38:11want to do it again. It's.
- 38:12Awful. Yeah, it's a lot.
- 38:14I'd say I've been enjoying. Now, you know, I've always
- 38:17signed the big names and I've had many of them over the years.
- 38:20And I've been enjoying working with some of the younger kids.
- 38:24They're coming up. They need my help.
- 38:26And, you know, making every dollar really means something.
- 38:29And it's been much more enjoyable.
- 38:31Like with the Jaycee Escarra, Oswaldo Cabrera, I've been
- 38:34working with just a bunch of younger guys that just enjoy to
- 38:37work with and, you know, guiding them, mentoring them and showing
- 38:40where the money is and just gearing the, you know, all the
- 38:43different contexts I have. It's just.
- 38:46It's also, I think, I think Brandon too, you've done it for
- 38:48so long and been with some of the biggest names.
- 38:50I think it's such a different energy when you have these
- 38:53younger kids that kind of, they were kind of in limbo between
- 38:56like whether they came up in college or whatever, didn't get
- 38:59the NIL, didn't get all the other stuff.
- 39:01And now it's like having these opportunities that I, I never
- 39:04knew about, like, you know, getting free vehicles, you know,
- 39:07signing events, private or public, they're two different
- 39:10anomalies. You don't know all these things
- 39:12in the insurance and outs and inscriptions and all the other
- 39:15stuff that ways you can make money that you never really
- 39:18knew. And now it's like, you know, my
- 39:20son's in college and has an opportunity to, to do the same
- 39:22thing. And it's like take advantage of
- 39:24these things. But what I love about it is
- 39:26they're so like, they're so vested in like in the fact they
- 39:30want to know like the whole process, not just like, hey,
- 39:33where's my check? Like, OK, it's two hours.
- 39:36I have this, this and this. It's like, hey, where is this
- 39:38going? You know, like, you know, the
- 39:41whole process of what it is and like, and continue that
- 39:43relationship. So I think the younger energy is
- 39:45really, really cool. Amazing.
- 39:48It's great. It's great.
- 39:50And also the curiosity level. I try to tell the players.
- 39:54I know the main focus is stay on the field, get on the field,
- 39:57play well. And a lot of agents will tell
- 40:00the player that's what you got to worry about.
- 40:02But there comes a point in time, if you're not playing, why not
- 40:05at least try to get prepared for the inevitable and take
- 40:08advantage of the opportunity? And I try to now, you know, I've
- 40:12made a lot of money, I've done well.
- 40:13So it does to me, it doesn't matter.
- 40:15I I I give the guys the combination in the safe.
- 40:18I show them everything. I'm completely transparent.
- 40:21Yeah, if you ever need a part time guy to help with any of
- 40:23this, Brandon, I kind of know my way around these things.
- 40:26I do need help man I believe. In this hey, I'll be in New York
- 40:29soon. We'll talk business.
- 40:31There's a guy, used to be a former.
- 40:32He almost made it to the United Shows, the hockey players in New
- 40:35York also. I'll introduce you to him.
- 40:37Big guy, a lot of potential. I think he I think you have to
- 40:41be 511, but I think he's a little short of 511.
- 40:46He he uses that half an inch 510 1/2 I think it's.
- 40:49Screw you, screw you, Jabba screw.
- 40:53Brandon for me in alley oop I had to done.
- 40:54Yeah, well, I'm, I'll be alley ooping because I missed a
- 40:58businessman. Anyways, Brandon, I, I I want to
- 41:02tell you something before I let you go.
- 41:03You know, a friend of mine, he's like a father figure to me, Mike
- 41:06Catino. So he wanted me to say hello.
- 41:08Oh my God, a name from the past. That's the first guy who really
- 41:12did a couple feature articles on me when I was.
- 41:14Not that I'm anybody now, but I was definitely nobody then.
- 41:17And he put me on the cover. First cover.
- 41:19Mike Catino, he's on the cover. He wanted to link me up with
- 41:22you. So what?
- 41:23We'll talk. I love that guy, he's got a
- 41:24heart of gold. He does.
- 41:26He's a great person. He's a great person.
- 41:28Relentless. Yes, he's absolutely relentless.
- 41:31Yeah, he almost said alone. Really enjoy this show.
- 41:34Love what you guys are doing. The word is out on the street,
- 41:36by the way, about your show. So it's a really, you know, not
- 41:40easy to promote these these shows, but your name has cracked
- 41:44through many times. I've heard it through
- 41:46conversations and this and that. So keep up the good work.
- 41:50Thank you put in the chat. You know, Adm for me, it's like
- 41:54if anybody wants a book that's listening, I'm happy to send you
- 41:57gotta have balls. I just did a one year ride along
- 41:59with NYPD, spending a year with the NYPD police trying to
- 42:04understand what's going on with urban policing.
- 42:05And then I've written two other books, just all business books
- 42:08other than the police book. So if you're an entrepreneur,
- 42:11salesperson you love, you got to have balls or living on purpose.
- 42:14Well, Java doesn't have any balls, so maybe he should get
- 42:17the book. I get the audio version.
- 42:23Thanks for having me though. I appreciate it man, really, and
- 42:27hopefully we'll do it again. Come November 17th to Carmines,
- 42:30come and hang out with us. All right, I'm going to try to
- 42:32make it. It'll be a lot of fun.
- 42:34Anyways, Brandon, we really appreciate.
- 42:36It keep up the good work. Thank you.
- 42:38Good to see you, Brandon. It's been a mile.
- 42:39Great to see you guys. Thanks Java.
- 42:41Appreciate you. Love you.
- 42:43Brandon Steiner, ladies and gentlemen, former CEO of Steiner
- 42:47Sports and now he runs Collectible Exchange and the
- 42:51Steiner Agency. So look at that Java.
- 42:54We're making headway as we. What about Skid Mart?
- 42:58Or. I got the bubble guts.
- 43:00I definitely got the bubble guts tonight.
- 43:02I I want to tell everybody something.
- 43:04Like them through the skid mark soundboard on there?
- 43:06Well, yeah, so I'll tell you guys, before this show I made
- 43:10macaroni and cheese because I I needed some kind of carbs
- 43:13because I haven't had any today. What kind?
- 43:16What kind? Macaron Kraft.
- 43:18OK. I'll just, well, that's where I
- 43:19was going. I was like Velveeta sales and
- 43:21teas. No, no, no, I make craft and I
- 43:24actually make a really good speedy.
- 43:25How good is my macaroni and cheese?
- 43:27I make a really good macaroni, so I made Mac and cheese.
- 43:29So anytime I have Mac and cheese it gives me the bubble guts so
- 43:34it I. Do you do you, do you fancy up
- 43:37your Mac and cheese or you just Yeah, I put.
- 43:39Cheese. No, I put cheese in it.
- 43:40I heat up cheese and I put it on top of it.
- 43:43I melt it on top of it. So yeah, I do it differently.
- 43:47You don't bake it. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
- 43:50no, no. I'm not.
- 43:52I'm not one of those guys. That that's the Nebraska way.
- 43:54We're the New Yorkers. We like to do it, you know.
- 43:57Nebraska Wait, no, it's not good.
- 44:00Mac and cheese. You should almost break your
- 44:02spoon. It should be real thick and you
- 44:04should be. There should be.
- 44:05You should hit it and it should be crusty.
- 44:06You know what? We should call Java.
- 44:08His nickname should be Mr. Big Mac.
- 44:10That's what we should call him. I've never had a Big Mac in my
- 44:13life. No, I've just called.
- 44:14Obviously, I just could. I don't want that middle bun,
- 44:17I'm not into that. Nobody wants that middle ball.
- 44:20Scoops had a Big Mac today. I did.
- 44:23I'm a Big Mac enjoyer. I like a Big Mac here and there.
- 44:26I know fish might not like the little bun, but hey, I just got
- 44:29to say like that middle bun. It just looks weird, but that's
- 44:31what makes it a good Big Mac. That's true.
- 44:33Well, I want to give a shout out to Brandon Stotted for joining
- 44:35us. He was sensational.
- 44:36He really was. And we had a lot of fun with him
- 44:39and maybe he comes November 17th.
- 44:41It'll be it'll be a cool, cool opportunity.
- 44:45We'll have a lot of athletes hopefully to come down and sit
- 44:47with us and we'll we'll be doing some giveaways and having fun
- 44:50with the fans and I'm sure a lot of people will enjoy some of the
- 44:55content that we're going to dish out to you guys.
- 44:57If you like this show, which most people that have seen it
- 45:01and checked it out thinks it's one of the best shows, you guys
- 45:04are going to laugh in person because I don't know what we're
- 45:07going to do. So it's it's one of those, but
- 45:10we have to be polite because there might be kids there and
- 45:14and stuff like that. But we'll definitely have fun
- 45:16with the kids. So definitely come down November
- 45:1917th, Carmine's Midtown Manhattan.
- 45:23We will be there promoting Jabba in the mouth.
- 45:27All right, Speedy Stat of the week.
- 45:30The Speedy you may run like me, but you hit like out of the
- 45:36wake. Finkel is Iron horn.
- 45:41Now this that will not be on the Miami Dolphins this week because
- 45:44they don't deserve any stats worthwhile.
- 45:46Let's go into one of their AFC East division rivals and I'm
- 45:50going to allude to how good their defensive line was this
- 45:54week against the Chiefs offensive line and that is the
- 45:57Buffalo Bills. So the Buffalo Bills pressured
- 46:00Patrick Mahomes on 52.6% of his drop backs, which is 3014.3%
- 46:06more than any of their ever any of their matchups in the last
- 46:09five years. 9 total from Greg Rousseau which is the third most
- 46:13in his career. Just to put it in perspective,
- 46:15how good the Chiefs offensive line was coming into this game,
- 46:18they had three players in the top three at their positions at
- 46:21QB pressure rate and they're two.
- 46:22Creed Humphrey and Trey Smith, high paid offensive lineman,
- 46:25didn't allow a sack coming into this game.
- 46:27Patrick Mahomes just three of 16 passing for 61 yards in
- 46:31interception when he was passing under pressure and this is the
- 46:33first time in his career Patrick Mahomes had a completion
- 46:37percentage less than 50%, just 44.1% in that game.
- 46:42Well, Patrick Mahomes, Patrick Mahomes has an opportunity to
- 46:47possibly meet up with Josh Allen in the playoffs again.
- 46:50But both teams are making the playoffs.
- 46:52I expect them to both compete and, and we knew this was going
- 46:56to happen. We all picked Buffalo to win,
- 46:58did we not? Every one of us picked Buffalo
- 47:01to win so. And let's start right there,
- 47:04Errol, with everyone knows it, affectionately known as.
- 47:10The whip around. Oh my God.
- 47:15Whip around. Can't.
- 47:20Wait, all right. Like we said, we're starting
- 47:22right there with the marquee match up of the week.
- 47:24The Bills 28, Chiefs 21. You said it, Mahomes inefficient
- 47:30below 50% quarterback rating 57.2.
- 47:33Kareem Hunt had a touchdown on the ground, so did Rashi Rice.
- 47:38Rushy Rice 80 yards catch receiving.
- 47:40Dalton Kincaid was the big receiver of the game, 101 yards
- 47:43through the air and one touchdown.
- 47:48Who is playing around with the camera all right?
- 47:51And then James Cook again, another 100 yard games, having
- 47:54one of the best seasons of any running back in the league after
- 47:57he signed that contract in the preseason.
- 47:59Josh Allen pretty efficient, 23 of 26273 and a touchdown with
- 48:04two touchdowns on the ground. Errol.
- 48:10Josh, Josh Allen has to be consistent like this.
- 48:13If he plays like this, Buffalo is going to have a chance to
- 48:15win. Cook is is one of the better
- 48:18running backs in the league. He was kind of being the shadow
- 48:21of his brother Dalvin, and now all of a sudden he's taking off.
- 48:24And remember, this guy was a third or fourth round pick.
- 48:28I think that this kid has the ability to find ways to find the
- 48:32seam and we've seen them all season long really explode right
- 48:35off the paper. I expect them to continue this
- 48:38run and and being one of the elite running backs in the
- 48:41league again, I worry about this defense.
- 48:44I don't know if they're going to be a run stopping team all
- 48:47season long. They lost Oliver for the season.
- 48:50Now they've added they're getting more healthy and we'll
- 48:53see how this works. What worries me about the Kansas
- 48:57City Chiefs right now is not Patrick Mahomes.
- 49:00It's this offensive line. This offensive line that
- 49:03everybody said, oh, Simmons, this is a good young kid and
- 49:06this is this offensive line is going to be a little bit better
- 49:09with the youth that they added to the line.
- 49:11They've been a shell of themselves over the last couple
- 49:13of weeks and you could see that even though they're putting up
- 49:17in their winning and everybody says, well, look, they're back
- 49:20to the normal selves. They're not back to their normal
- 49:22selves. If you look at this, this team,
- 49:25there's so many deficiencies and that secondary, I mean, besides
- 49:30Mcduffie, right? It was Mcduffie.
- 49:32He's the only one. That secondary sucks.
- 49:35There's nothing good about this team.
- 49:38If you're a Kansas City Chief fan, you can't expect this team
- 49:41to be an elite team or a contender.
- 49:43But if they meet Buffalo in the playoffs, they know each other
- 49:46very, very well. Patrick and and obviously Josh
- 49:49Allen know each other and they're going to play very, very
- 49:51hard against one another. So I expected to be a very good
- 49:53game, no matter how bad or how inefficient both teams could be
- 49:58in certain games. I'll go some other credit to the
- 50:00Bills, their secondary with some of the youngsters, they started
- 50:04the first round pick. Harrison got his I think second
- 50:06start in that game. They had a couple backup
- 50:08safeties in the game that I think played very well.
- 50:10You saw the ball skills really being there.
- 50:12And I think on the and the Bills I think also with their
- 50:14secondary receivers. Finally, you're getting it
- 50:16going. You're right, Errol, the chief
- 50:17secondary depth is not what it used to be.
- 50:19But they usually like, like I said, the Packers receivers,
- 50:22they usually have one guy that emerges in a span of like two or
- 50:25three games and they don't have that this.
- 50:26Year and what's going on with Rice I mean when this guy comes
- 50:29back two weeks you expect them to explode right off the paper.
- 50:32Everybody says this is going to be a different Kansas City
- 50:35offense. I don't know.
- 50:37Rice is taking a lot of the lot of the looks away from the other
- 50:41guys that were playing highly well and now all of a sudden
- 50:44this team is not as explosive with Rice.
- 50:48They're more better without him. That's what I said.
- 50:51I. Was actually just going to get
- 50:51to that as my next point. He didn't get a target in the
- 50:54second-half until 7 minutes to go in the fourth quarter, which
- 50:57when you're down in the game to a team like the, you can't
- 50:59afford to like, play games with that kind.
- 51:00Of should have never started. And the last take away is the
- 51:03Chiefs. You badly need a running back to
- 51:04the trade deadline. Whatever you're doing right now
- 51:06is not. Working.
- 51:07It's not going to be Bruce Hall, ladies and gentlemen.
- 51:09He's not going to Kansas City, I'm telling.
- 51:12Yeah, I mean, you guys kind of covered it.
- 51:14It's it's always interesting. There's always something that
- 51:16happens in a Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes game.
- 51:18I was, I was wondering what was going to happen with the offense
- 51:21when she, Rashe Rice came back and I didn't think it was going
- 51:24to go this way. I mean, obviously he's he's
- 51:26played well, but I think it's kind of been a detriment to the
- 51:28offense as a whole. But like we talked about
- 51:32earlier, I think they're just getting older and it's kind of
- 51:34showing. And you know, Josh Allen's a
- 51:36stud too. And you know, the way, the way
- 51:39they can run the ball too and then open up the field is has
- 51:42been pretty good against the Chiefs.
- 51:43So I don't know. It wouldn't surprise me if you
- 51:46see him again though. I don't know if you guys heard
- 51:48his interview at ESPN, I don't want to say it, but it was so
- 51:51interesting about how he feels being married now and how he
- 51:55sees himself as a young man, young quarterback that's trying
- 52:00to figure out how to get to the Super Bowl.
- 52:02And he says I won't. I won't be in the big time until
- 52:06I get to that position where I have a chance to win a chip.
- 52:09And until that happens, I feel that I'm at loss where I am and,
- 52:13and in the position I'm in as a star quarterback in this league.
- 52:16I think he he knows without a championship, he's never going
- 52:19to be considered an elite quarterback or even amongst the
- 52:24greatest quarterbacks of all time and he needs to win that
- 52:26ship. So that was.
- 52:27He did have a dope Halloween costume though.
- 52:29Yeah, he did. So did his.
- 52:31So did his wife. Vicki Galancourt was even, I
- 52:34mean hers. And then then the sign was just
- 52:37the, I mean, the icing on it, it was that was awesome.
- 52:41Yeah. Pretty strong.
- 52:43Not from very pretty strong to not so strong. 49ers 34, Giants
- 52:4924. 49ers go to six and three behind the great Christian
- 52:53McCaffrey. 28 carries, 106 yards and a touchdown on the ground. 5
- 52:57catches, 67 yards and a touchdown through the air.
- 53:01Juan Jennings had a touchdown. Backup running back Brian
- 53:03Robinson junior from used to be on Washington. 5 carries, 53
- 53:08yards and a touchdown. 49ers could just do whatever they
- 53:11wanted against that Giants defense all day.
- 53:15For the Giants, Jackson Dart had another good game in the loss.
- 53:182430 Three, 191, two touchdowns, 8 carries, 56 yards on the
- 53:23ground and a touchdown. He seems to be a pretty darn
- 53:27good quarterback. He's gotten no help.
- 53:29Darius Sladen, with another key drop in the game, had the most
- 53:33receiving yards. 5 catches, 62 Wandell Robinson gets all the
- 53:36short catches. That's pretty much it.
- 53:40Theo Johnson got another touchdown at the tight end
- 53:42position. Errol, the Giants defense is an
- 53:47atrocity and we, we know that, you know, they've got all these
- 53:52names in the front 7. I don't know if you could name a
- 53:55single guy in the back of the secondary left healthy that's
- 53:59worth playing in the NFL anymore.
- 54:01Well, I wrote a story over the weekend about Carl Banks in the
- 54:05Dexter Lawrence beef, and you can see why Carl Banks came out
- 54:10and and said that these guys don't have any heart.
- 54:13And and I'm not saying I think Dexter Lawrence is not healthy.
- 54:16And I think that's the problem. Sexy Dexy has not been the same
- 54:19player as he was last year and the year before.
- 54:22And I think it has a lot to do with injury.
- 54:24And I think he's just playing and he's fighting this, but it's
- 54:27been an atrocity. And and and really the secondary
- 54:30is just nowhere to be found. And and yeah, Jackson Dart looks
- 54:34good, but what is it going to take for him to get injured?
- 54:37I mean, the guy is always running outside of the pocket
- 54:39trying to use his legs. This guy needs to stand in the
- 54:42pocket and make throws. If he continues to do this, he's
- 54:45going to put himself in the yeah, he's going to get hurt
- 54:48just like Scataboo because KATAPU plays one way and when
- 54:52you play one way it doesn't work.
- 54:54And I've heard a lot of quarterbacks come out.
- 54:55Eli Manning said it on the Manning cap or whatever the the
- 54:59Manning goes show. He said that.
- 55:01I like what I like what Jackson Dart does.
- 55:04I like everything about him. I like the way he plays.
- 55:07But he says it doesn't work in the NFL.
- 55:09It's never going to last in the NFL the way he is playing.
- 55:12If he doesn't figure out how to stand in the pocket and make
- 55:15those throws and he depends too much on his legs, it's going to
- 55:18come back and haunt him. So I know you love him and I
- 55:22like his personality, but it doesn't work in the NFL.
- 55:25Ask Justin, ask Justin Fields, ask Lamar Jackson.
- 55:28When he came into the league, he needed to figure it out and he
- 55:31needed to figure out how to complete passes.
- 55:33If he doesn't figure that out and soon, he's going to be on
- 55:37the IR and he might never really achieve what everybody thinks he
- 55:41could achieve. So yeah, there's enough sample
- 55:43size now with these semi mobile or mobile quarterbacks that
- 55:46don't know how to slide right away.
- 55:47I worried about that, that kind of thing with Bo Nicks early in
- 55:49his career because when he was at Auburn, anyone who was at
- 55:51Oregon, he would be sometimes playing reckless, running very
- 55:53goofy. And Jackson Dart had some of
- 55:55those traits at the end of his career at Ole Miss, too.
- 55:57He cannot keep playing like that.
- 55:58He's got to learn to slide. He's got to learn how to throw
- 56:00it away if he's trying to throw on the run and extend it.
- 56:03Because, yeah, let's face it, the Giants are not going to go
- 56:05anywhere with this wide receiving core as it is.
- 56:07So you want to have other traits in his development that are
- 56:09learned. Winning games is not the
- 56:10important thing for him that right now because they're not
- 56:13going anywhere. And this coaching staff is not
- 56:14going to go anywhere. So Dart has to develop.
- 56:16He's got to learn those kinds of things now before he gets hurt,
- 56:19like your guys are saying. Yeah.
- 56:20Do you think it's too like when you're a player like that and we
- 56:23we've seen players like that before Mark Sanchez, Joe Girardi
- 56:26had to teach him how to slide. Do you do you think it's hard
- 56:30like when you have that mentality and that's how they
- 56:32played and now coming obviously a step above, like, do you think
- 56:36it's hard for them to to reel it back to understand that like you
- 56:40can't run for your life? Like this is a different level
- 56:42of football. Obviously we all know the Mark
- 56:45Sanchez story and and it didn't help.
- 56:47By the way, Joe Girardi went not once but twice and it didn't
- 56:50help. I was there.
- 56:51I know if you would have seen him try to slide, like he did it
- 56:55once at the stadium and then he did it once Joe went to
- 56:59practice, if you would have seen him slide, you'd have literally
- 57:03like that. There's no way this dude's a
- 57:04starting quarterback. And like he looked the most
- 57:06unathletic I've ever seen. Yeah, I, I, I don't know.
- 57:10If Jackson dot doesn't figure this out, he's going to get
- 57:12hurt. And you can see it.
- 57:14Quarterbacks look at look at the way Drake May plays.
- 57:18OK, Drake May is the that prototypical quarterback that
- 57:22you you like to watch. Why?
- 57:23Because he steps into the pocket, he makes the throw and
- 57:26then when he needs and he gives it, he gets a lane, he runs and
- 57:29he slides. As soon as he sees somebody, a
- 57:31linebacker, come at him, he's on the ground and he slides.
- 57:35Alex, remember Alex Smith? Alex Smith was the king of doing
- 57:39that. He, it really didn't change
- 57:41until Jim Harbaugh went there and Jim Harbaugh said you need
- 57:44to slide because you see Alex Smith, he would try to get the
- 57:47extra 5 or 6 yards. Jackson Dart needs to stop doing
- 57:50that. If he continuously keeps doing
- 57:52that, he's going to get hurt. He's going to be at a
- 57:55significant amount of time. It might not be the quarterback
- 57:58that we think he could be. So here's the problem.
- 58:01It's not scrambles. They're designing runs for him
- 58:04to run in in the red zone and I'm just sitting there like
- 58:07you're losing by 21 points. Why are we doing?
- 58:10You're not going. Back run in the third quarter of
- 58:14a game that you're not winning with the franchise quarterback.
- 58:18It's the same thing that we'll talk about at the end of the
- 58:21whip around with Jaden Daniels having his arm turned inside out
- 58:25in a game that was over doing some kind of quarterback run for
- 58:29no goddamn reason when the game was over.
- 58:32It's just madness. I hope the Giants aren't that
- 58:34stupid, but you know, history and what I see may dictate
- 58:38otherwise. Let's go to the next set of
- 58:40games. We'll start with the Thursday
- 58:42game real quick. We've already, you know, seen
- 58:44that The Ravens all over the Dolphins.
- 58:45Not much to say. Lamar Jackson was back. 4
- 58:48touchdowns, 200. Yards might save John Harpo's
- 58:51job, by the way. Yeah.
- 58:53Well, I mean, the Dolphins are kind of garbage.
- 58:55They fire their GM after the game.
- 58:57The Vikings 27, the Lions 24. This was an surprise football
- 59:02game, pretty big surprise. But for a lot of people, JJ
- 59:05McCarthy, in his return to the starting lineup, gets a big win
- 59:09over the Lions, kind of keeps their season going, gets them
- 59:12only a game behind Detroit. J JS demented.
- 59:15Did you see the afterwards when they gave him the game ball like
- 59:18the dude was in a trance like he was not in like in this realm.
- 59:22He was somewhere else. Oh my gosh, that dude.
- 59:26It was crazy when I was like, whoa, this dude is on it.
- 59:29So he's he's different. You know, a lot of big, big
- 59:32plays in that game. Justin Jefferson had a receiving
- 59:35touchdown. So to TJ Hawkinson, but nothing
- 59:37crazy stats wise over there for the Vikings.
- 59:40Laporta 97 yards in a touchdown. He's starting to pick up his
- 59:44game. Another 97 yards as well.
- 59:45Laporta is stepping it up. Really nothing doing on the
- 59:49ground. That was the story in this game.
- 59:51The Vikings completely shut down the running attack. 65 total
- 59:55yards for combined for Montgomery and Gibbs.
- 59:58Gibbs only 25 yards on 9 carries in this one.
- 1:00:01Here's the honest honesty here. JJ McCarthy was not good in that
- 1:00:05game. 14 completed passes, 143 yards, 2 touchdowns, 1
- 1:00:09interceptions. He was sacked five times.
- 1:00:11He didn't have a big day, OK? And anybody that thinks he did,
- 1:00:15what I see the difference of this offense now is Aaron Jones
- 1:00:19is back. And if Aaron Jones is 100% and
- 1:00:23he can run the ball and that opens up the field for JJ
- 1:00:26McCarthy, you will see why. JJ McCarthy was special when he
- 1:00:30was coming out of the draft. He can run, he can throw on the
- 1:00:34run. We heard Jim Harbaugh say very
- 1:00:36highly, great things about him. The thing is, my surprise is the
- 1:00:41Lions, I do not know what's going on with this team.
- 1:00:43I I really don't. And it's not because it's Jared
- 1:00:46Goff, because he had a big day. He was 25 for 37200 and 8084
- 1:00:50yards, 2 touchdowns, no interceptions, but he was sacked
- 1:00:53five times. His quarterback rating was
- 1:00:55108.4, which is what you want a starting quarterback in an elite
- 1:00:59quarterback to do. The problem with them is they're
- 1:01:02running game. It's inconsistent.
- 1:01:05This could be an elite running game one week and a crappy
- 1:01:09running game the next. If they don't have that elite
- 1:01:11running, there's no way that this offense could really be at
- 1:01:16the top of its game. Think about it this, think about
- 1:01:18it this way. David Montgomery had 11
- 1:01:21attempts, 11 attempts. He had one touchdown, 40 rushing
- 1:01:25yards. Jameer Gibbs, who I believe is
- 1:01:28one of the most explosive running backs in the league as
- 1:01:31far as catching a ball and running the ball. 9 attempts for
- 1:01:3425 yards. That is not going to get it
- 1:01:38done. That's why the Lions won this
- 1:01:40game. Lost this game.
- 1:01:41If they could run the ball, there's no way Minnesota keeps
- 1:01:44up with this team. JJ McCarthy was cropping the
- 1:01:46game. So yeah, this, I think this is
- 1:01:48the first game you really saw the Lions miss Frank Ragnar,
- 1:01:51who's missed the whole season. They also lost another interior
- 1:01:53offensive lineman, one of the rookies in the game in
- 1:01:55Minnesota. That's why you make those trades
- 1:01:57for Hargrave and Jonathan Allen to beef up that interior
- 1:02:00defensive line. The Lions, I think if you can
- 1:02:02beat them on the interior, usually you beat teams on the
- 1:02:05edge, you could usually do well. It's the opposite with the like
- 1:02:07if you could beat them on the interior.
- 1:02:08Golf struggles with interior pressure.
- 1:02:10You see the results and I talked about the Bills high pressure
- 1:02:12rate. The Vikings, I think we're about
- 1:02:1344% too, which is insane considering the level of
- 1:02:15offensive line the Lions played against.
- 1:02:18Yeah, no, obviously I became a pseudo Vikings fan, like I've
- 1:02:21said, and we were talking about this.
- 1:02:23It's like the first time that online stepped up and yeah, and
- 1:02:27JJ wasn't great. So it's it's it's funny how
- 1:02:30definitely didn't expect that ending the way and especially
- 1:02:32the stop on the ground the way they did.
- 1:02:35I mean, that was that was the game in itself.
- 1:02:38Why are you a sudo Vikings fan? You know they have the most
- 1:02:40Nebraska players. No one of Carter's best friends
- 1:02:44that they grew up with his dad. He's a like he's a true sports
- 1:02:48guy because his baseball team's the Orioles and has been ever
- 1:02:51since I've known him and the boys.
- 1:02:52We literally grew up together. So for the last almost shoot 20
- 1:02:57years and he's a Vikings fan. So it's I was like, it's the
- 1:03:01most random things ever. So then I was like I didn't have
- 1:03:04a pro team, just guys that I knew that played.
- 1:03:07So I became a pseudo Vikings. Fan All right, so Pete Pseudo
- 1:03:13Pete Pursica. Loved that.
- 1:03:14That's about it. Yeah, we got to get Pete back
- 1:03:17on. So here's the next set of games.
- 1:03:20This one was a real surprise. The Panthers 16, Packers 13 in
- 1:03:27Lambeau. The Panthers are five and four
- 1:03:30on the season. Story was Rico Dowdle, former
- 1:03:33Cowboy, 25 carries, 130 yards, 2 touchdowns on the ground.
- 1:03:39Jordan Love and you know, I always say this about him, he
- 1:03:43has games like this where it's just what are we doing here?
- 1:03:46Just doesn't really seem to make really logical decisions with
- 1:03:49the ball at times. 26 of 37273 and a pick.
- 1:03:54The chargers 27 Titans 20 Titans got out to an early lead in this
- 1:03:58one. It was only a matter of time.
- 1:04:00The Chargers pretty much took that back control, and we're in
- 1:04:03control most of the way in that one.
- 1:04:05Justin Herbert another big game. 19 of 29252 touchdowns, 9
- 1:04:10carries, 57 yards and a TD on the ground.
- 1:04:15Yeah, I, I the Carolina game was shocking to me.
- 1:04:18It really was. And it wasn't because of Bryce
- 1:04:21Young, because he was horrendous.
- 1:04:22He had 11 completions for 102 yards and one interceptions, one
- 1:04:26interception. He had no touchdown passing.
- 1:04:28He was getting. He was horrible.
- 1:04:30But their Canalis is running his offense through Dowdell and you
- 1:04:34could see that this is a completely different offense
- 1:04:37when this guy is running on all cylinders.
- 1:04:39If you look at the last four weeks, this guy is been one of
- 1:04:43the more complete running backs in all of the NFL.
- 1:04:46He can catch the ball, he runs the ball, he's dominant.
- 1:04:49And you can see the difference in and by the way, this Green
- 1:04:52Bay Packer defense that is explosive.
- 1:04:55And we see, and everybody compares this to be one of the
- 1:04:58elite defenses in the league. Boy, oh boy, when it comes down
- 1:05:01to bad teams, they do not show up against teams that they're
- 1:05:06much better than. And by the way, and I, I love
- 1:05:09Jordan Love. I, I think Jordan Love is, is a
- 1:05:12good quarterback. And, and I know everybody looks
- 1:05:15at him and he says, well, he put up to 73.
- 1:05:17He had no touchdown passes and he had one interception.
- 1:05:20That's not getting done getting it done.
- 1:05:22Your quarterback rating is at 80.1.
- 1:05:25You're supposed to be an elite quarterback.
- 1:05:27The only thing that really stands out to me with this
- 1:05:29offense is Jacobs. I I mean, when this guy is
- 1:05:32playing, he's going to keep you in the game.
- 1:05:35They have, they spread out their offense.
- 1:05:37They miss Reed when Jaden Reed comes back.
- 1:05:40This is a completely different offense.
- 1:05:42They lost him in week one against the Cowboys.
- 1:05:45They have not been as explosive as we thought they were going to
- 1:05:48be. I'm telling you, Reed and losing
- 1:05:51Reed is a big loss as far as the charge is concerned.
- 1:05:55The big loss here is alt now. They lost their two starting
- 1:05:59tackles. I don't know what Justin Herbert
- 1:06:01needs to do to prove himself anymore because he's still doing
- 1:06:05it without two of his best tackles.
- 1:06:07His whole offensive line is down.
- 1:06:09But Kai Beck, they can't stay healthy.
- 1:06:11I mean, this is just a horrible situation and Jim Hardball still
- 1:06:16finds a way to win. He's six and three and, and, and
- 1:06:20I'm telling, if nobody thinks Justin Herbert just deserves any
- 1:06:24kind of MVP conversation, back and forth conversation, then you
- 1:06:28don't know football. This guy is doing it and he's
- 1:06:31doing with less with the offensive line.
- 1:06:34He's running the ball, he's running, he's rushing touchdowns
- 1:06:38and he's opening up the he's opening up his wide receiving,
- 1:06:42you know, is right is right wide receiving talent.
- 1:06:45There's really nothing out there.
- 1:06:47He's got a young, I think a young tight end that looks like
- 1:06:50he's going to be good and he has Mcconkey.
- 1:06:53I don't trust anybody else. Even Keenan Allen is old.
- 1:06:56He has played well, but he he's been old.
- 1:06:59You know, he looks old. He looked old this week.
- 1:07:01So that's all I'm going to say. The Titans suck so.
- 1:07:04Yeah, the Chargers, it's interesting because there's a
- 1:07:06high volume in passing offense that we've seen a lot more with
- 1:07:09a Greg Roman LED offense that you never really see it just
- 1:07:11because their running game has just been so bad because every
- 1:07:13running back they have keeps getting hurt and then you lose 2
- 1:07:15tackles combined with that and Makai Beckton as well, you're
- 1:07:19going to have trouble running the ball.
- 1:07:20So Herbert has to. Step and Johnson's not 100%.
- 1:07:22Healthy. So it's just Herbert has to step
- 1:07:24up and he's been every part of that, especially at this high of
- 1:07:26a volume. As far as the Panthers and the
- 1:07:28Packers game, the Panthers young defense has actually been a lot
- 1:07:31more impressive than I would have thought.
- 1:07:32I thought they would have needed some time.
- 1:07:33EJ Arro, Rivero got a big contract.
- 1:07:34It's a defensive coordinator that looked like it was going to
- 1:07:36pan out. But Nick Scorton, Trevor
- 1:07:38Wallace, couple of young kids in that defense have played very
- 1:07:40well. They're playing well against bad
- 1:07:42offenses in the past, but now they finally did it against a
- 1:07:43good offense. Yeah, I mean, Packers took a hit
- 1:07:47to Tucker. Craft going down stinks.
- 1:07:49Please, I didn't want you to say it that it's didn't want you to
- 1:07:54say it. My bad.
- 1:07:55It kills my fantasy team. I'd love the dude.
- 1:07:58Like I love his story, you know, where he's from and all the
- 1:08:01other stuff. Yeah, we talked about Herbert a
- 1:08:03little bit, like I think, I don't remember who it was.
- 1:08:05They're talking about his trash yards last week because he got
- 1:08:07over. But I mean, he continues to do
- 1:08:10it. And I, I mean, I wish I had his
- 1:08:12hair, obviously, but he just can.
- 1:08:15But the Titans aren't big. He's got a.
- 1:08:17So he's got a pretty good girlfriend too, man, I.
- 1:08:20Mean. Yeah, well, I wasn't, I wasn't
- 1:08:21going to go there, but that's kind of where I was headed in
- 1:08:24that direction, but took a left instead of a right.
- 1:08:27I saw him at a Laker game, he looks pretty happy.
- 1:08:32Yeah, I mean, good paycheck, hot chick throwing the ball.
- 1:08:35Well, I mean, he's, he's doing all right.
- 1:08:37He's doing a lot. He's doing more than all right.
- 1:08:43She's going to be writing songs about him in many different
- 1:08:45ways. Well, I mean, I can't wait
- 1:08:49Taylor Swift to get the breakup songs apparently get the wedding
- 1:08:52songs too. Well, we already talked about
- 1:08:54the Chiefs. This game had some heartbreak in
- 1:08:57it for Falcons fans. Patriots won 2423.
- 1:09:00The difference was a missed extra point late in the game by
- 1:09:04the Falcons when they were going to tie it up.
- 1:09:06That's just devastating stats in that game.
- 1:09:09Again, very even game in general between the two teams.
- 1:09:14Michael Pennix junior had three touchdown passes, all to Drake
- 1:09:17London who had 9 catches for 118 yards.
- 1:09:21The Patriots Drake May 19 to 29259, two touchdowns and a
- 1:09:25pick. Trayvon Henderson LED them with
- 1:09:28rushing. You know, no one really had a
- 1:09:29jump out game. Demario Douglas apparently lost.
- 1:09:33His uncle was shot a couple of days before the game.
- 1:09:37He has 100, his first ever 100 yard game and a touchdown in the
- 1:09:41win for the Patriots and the other game, Errol our boy Daniel
- 1:09:46Jones turned the ball over five times in the Colts lost to the
- 1:09:52Steelers. Jones was 31 of 50 for 342A
- 1:09:56touchdown, a rushing touchdown as well, and the three picks and
- 1:10:00two fumbles. He had two receivers with 115
- 1:10:03yards. Alex, it's.
- 1:10:04Going to happen once or twice I'm not worried about.
- 1:10:06It well, I mean, look, it's that's fine.
- 1:10:10Jalen Warren had two rushing touchdowns for Pittsburgh, but
- 1:10:12really didn't get much on the ground.
- 1:10:14They had 38 total rushing yards. I mean, the story they didn't
- 1:10:18really have anyone standing out passing.
- 1:10:19Friarmouth had a touchdown at the tight end, but it was, you
- 1:10:23know, you can't win the game if you turn the ball over five
- 1:10:25times, man. No, it is.
- 1:10:27And I agree with you and I'm not, and I'm not going to take
- 1:10:29shots at. I want to go to the Patriot Game
- 1:10:32first because what's interesting to me is Michael Pennix, when he
- 1:10:37plays, he gives his chance, his team a chance to win every
- 1:10:40single week. Bijon Robinson had a bad week.
- 1:10:43I think that was the problem with Atlanta and I think the
- 1:10:46Patriots found a way to stop Bijon.
- 1:10:48When you stop Bijon and you stop that offense and you saw it,
- 1:10:51Michael Pennix is special. We could see that he is going to
- 1:10:55develop into a really good quarterback.
- 1:10:56I don't know if he's going to be Caleb Williams or Jaden Daniels.
- 1:11:00We'll see. But he's shown to be a very
- 1:11:03important piece to this team's future and I love what I see.
- 1:11:06But I'm going to tell you this, he I don't think he's a top five
- 1:11:10quarterback, but Drake May has been very consistent.
- 1:11:14You can't you can't complain or you can't argue that 1919 for
- 1:11:1829259 yards, 2 touchdowns, 1 interception.
- 1:11:22He was sacked 6 times. But now I think they're going to
- 1:11:25start running Henderson and you could see that maybe the
- 1:11:28youngster is going to get an opportunity and maybe that'll
- 1:11:30open up the offense a little bit better and spread this offense
- 1:11:34out. Like you said, Douglas had his
- 1:11:35first 100 yard game. Henry Diggs needs to play
- 1:11:38better. I know he had a touchdown, but
- 1:11:40he needs to play better. He's a leader.
- 1:11:42He has to play better. Now as far as the Indianapolis
- 1:11:45Colts game, yeah, Daniel Jones didn't have that rock solid
- 1:11:49game. He still threw over 342 yards
- 1:11:52and he only lost by 7. He kept his team in the game.
- 1:11:55Even with the mistakes. The defense is elite.
- 1:11:58You can see that Indianapolis is defense is elite.
- 1:12:01They're going to be able to compete even when they make
- 1:12:03these kind of mistakes. That's the interesting thing
- 1:12:05with all the mistakes that Indianapolis made this week,
- 1:12:09they still were in the game. Their defense kept them in the
- 1:12:12game. And that to me tells me that
- 1:12:15this can be a contender and championship intended team with
- 1:12:19the talent that they have. They can run the ball.
- 1:12:21They've got a they got Taylor, even though he didn't have a
- 1:12:24big, big game. I think he's explosive.
- 1:12:26He's as explosive as anywhere like back in the league.
- 1:12:29Pittman had a great day. I should have started him.
- 1:12:31I'm smacking myself in the head and so did Pierce.
- 1:12:34I, I think they got weapons all over the field and, and, and
- 1:12:38again, congratulations to Aaron Rodgers.
- 1:12:40But Aaron Rodgers didn't have a big day.
- 1:12:42As a matter of fact, he was sick.
- 1:12:43He was sacked 3 times and he only had one touchdown.
- 1:12:46What was impressive to that to me about them is their defense
- 1:12:50and their red zone defense. At some point to this game, it
- 1:12:54was remarkable how good this defense played.
- 1:12:56TJ Watt was all over the field. The defense was all over the
- 1:13:00place making plays. The secretary played very, very
- 1:13:03well and you saw what happened. Yeah, there's a lot of questions
- 1:13:07with Terrell Austin, defensive coordinator.
- 1:13:08With the Steelers, you saw the run defense been really bad, but
- 1:13:11they helped. They really buckled down against
- 1:13:13Jonathan Taylor. He really struggled in this
- 1:13:14game. The offensive line on the
- 1:13:15interior, that's normally very good for the Colts struggled in
- 1:13:17this game and it just affected the rest of their offense.
- 1:13:19You're right, their offense didn't really do much.
- 1:13:21I'm not going to jump the gun, so that meant anything, but
- 1:13:23maybe the Colts have a trade deadline move or two on defense
- 1:13:25that they could do. As far as the Falcons, they look
- 1:13:28really undisciplined and that's not a good sign, especially with
- 1:13:30the pre snap penalty. Look for their coaches.
- 1:13:32Yeah. And I get concerned on that too
- 1:13:34and especially how good their offensive line is.
- 1:13:36Like there's a lot of pre snap penalties and a lot of them on
- 1:13:393rd down, a lot of them on 4th down when they could have gone
- 1:13:41for it on 4th and one. I agree with you on Pennix.
- 1:13:43He did everything he could under pressure a lot of the time.
- 1:13:44Smart decisions. Obviously London at the great
- 1:13:46game, but you can't be beating yourselves like the Falcons have
- 1:13:49been doing. They beat the Bills and now have
- 1:13:50lost three straights. I will say this, High Smith is
- 1:13:54back and if he plays this well, watch out for this defense
- 1:13:59because he hasn't been at 100% all season long.
- 1:14:02He's been fighting injury really since the second-half of the
- 1:14:05season last year. If High Smith plays like this,
- 1:14:08he had two sacks in the game and he dominated a line of
- 1:14:10scrimmage. He had four tackles.
- 1:14:12This defense is completely different.
- 1:14:17Yeah, yeah. I mean, you guys kind of pretty
- 1:14:18much covered it all. So I'm going to sit here and
- 1:14:20listen all. Right, we got 2 more left.
- 1:14:24Let's get into the next set of games.
- 1:14:26The Broncos defeated the Texans 18 to 15 in the game where CJ
- 1:14:31Stroud was knocked out early in the first half.
- 1:14:34He was sliding and got that hit, was tough in the middle of a
- 1:14:38slide, concussion protocol. Davis Mills had to finish the
- 1:14:42what the IT the rest of the way. The Texans did have a lead.
- 1:14:45They didn't really score any points after that.
- 1:14:47Bo Nicks was able to do just enough for them to win, and in
- 1:14:52overtime the Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the Raiders 30.
- 1:14:57No thanks to Travis Hunter. Pee Wee at the end of the well,
- 1:15:01he didn't play because he's on the IR.
- 1:15:03Yeah, he's a pee. Wee no.
- 1:15:05But the big, big thing in that game was the extra point.
- 1:15:10They decided to go for two at the end of the game in overtime
- 1:15:13to go for the win instead of for the tie.
- 1:15:15And they did not get it. It gets knocked down right at
- 1:15:18the line in a pretty embarrassing looking play for
- 1:15:21Geno Smith, who otherwise played his best game of the season. 29
- 1:15:26of 39284 and 4 touchdowns 3. To the returning and finally
- 1:15:31healthy for my fantasy team that's now better than yours 0.
- 1:15:36Because of because of 1. 12 catches because of Brock, Powers
- 1:15:39because of 12 catches 1. One week I lost a.
- 1:15:43Week. I lost a week and this guy says
- 1:15:47his team's better than mine. Get out of here.
- 1:15:49Gently had 42 yards on the ground, 47.
- 1:15:52I lost one. Touchdown, but that's that game.
- 1:15:57Pretty close game all the way through to the end.
- 1:16:01What do you think about those two close ones?
- 1:16:02I, I think Bo Nicks, there's a problem here.
- 1:16:04I, I don't think Bo Nicks is what he was last year.
- 1:16:07He's having a, a sophomore slump.
- 1:16:09You can see it. It's a big problem right now for
- 1:16:12them. I think the Broncos are in
- 1:16:14trouble. This team, if they depend too
- 1:16:16much on their defense going into the playoffs, they're going to
- 1:16:19be 1 and done. I, I just don't think they're
- 1:16:21going to be able to. They're 7:00 and 2:00, but I
- 1:16:23think they're a bad seven and two.
- 1:16:25I don't really think they're as good as their record shows, 18
- 1:16:29to 15 against team that has a great defense but have no
- 1:16:33offense and they lost their quarterback in the first quarter
- 1:16:37and you almost lost that game. That is a problem for anybody to
- 1:16:40see that to believe be like, well, they're seven and two and
- 1:16:43they have the one of the elite defenses elite.
- 1:16:46They're not putting up enough points.
- 1:16:48And that's what that was the problem when we had Sanders
- 1:16:51Sanderson on this show. I argued who is their secondary
- 1:16:54option? Where is their second part of
- 1:16:57their offense coming from? If if they Courtland Sutton
- 1:17:01doesn't get the ball? I, I, I don't know where they're
- 1:17:03getting it. They're not getting enough of
- 1:17:05it. And that's the problem.
- 1:17:07And I've got to give JK Dobbins a little bit of credit.
- 1:17:10I mean, this guy had tears in ACL every other year and he
- 1:17:14comes back and he's still one of the elite running backs in the
- 1:17:17league. It's ridiculous.
- 1:17:20How many times does this guy have to tear his knee and come
- 1:17:22back and only sign a one year deal and show up and play as
- 1:17:27hard as he does. It's remarkable what this guy
- 1:17:30is. He's 4th in the NFL and rushing.
- 1:17:32It's unbelievable. It's unbelievable.
- 1:17:34It's unbelievable right now what JK Toppins is doing as far as
- 1:17:39the Jacksonville check was well, how can I say this, Trevor
- 1:17:45Lawrence sucks, OK, he's bad. OK, I I don't know what more to
- 1:17:50say about this 2023 for 34220 yards, no touchdowns, won a
- 1:17:56deception. I mean, you are an elite
- 1:17:59quarterback. You were being compared to
- 1:18:01Andrew Luck and you just can't do anything on a football field.
- 1:18:06You got weapons like you do and and you have weapons.
- 1:18:09I don't want to hear it. ETN is a weapon.
- 1:18:12ETN is still putting up numbers. I'm very surprised he's putting
- 1:18:15up the numbers he has this year. But you're getting offense from
- 1:18:18Washington. You have.
- 1:18:20Yeah. Brian Thomas Junior, who I think
- 1:18:21is so explosive. You're not using them enough in
- 1:18:24this game. I I just it's it to me, it's
- 1:18:27just doesn't make any sense. And you play a Raiders team that
- 1:18:31is trying to lose. This Raiders team is trying to
- 1:18:36lose every single game that they look like they're in it.
- 1:18:40They lose it at the tail end of it.
- 1:18:42The only thing good about this team is Brock Bowers is back.
- 1:18:45And boy, oh boy, is he back. He had three reception
- 1:18:50touchdowns in the game for 127 yards.
- 1:18:53This is why he's the best tight end in football.
- 1:18:55And it he it's not even close. When you when you watch a game
- 1:18:58like that, he's ridiculous. Yeah, when you know how bad the
- 1:19:01Raiders offense has been this year, you could tell that
- 1:19:03Jacksonville is missing a lot of key defenders.
- 1:19:05I'm not talking about the Gremlin, He's not a key
- 1:19:06defender. I'm talking about Jordan Lewis
- 1:19:08and Devin Lloyd, who've been actually two of the best at
- 1:19:09their positions that year. Jordan Lewis have really good
- 1:19:12corner, ex Cowboy that was a slot corner over there and the
- 1:19:15Devin Lloyd who arguably could have been the best performance
- 1:19:17middle linebacker this year so far.
- 1:19:19They missed him in that game. Obviously Bowers cooked and I
- 1:19:21agree with Lawrence. His decision making is very
- 1:19:23strange sometimes and this is a coaching Cohen that like you
- 1:19:26said, no one said it used these secondary options.
- 1:19:28Well, what do you do with him, $55 million?
- 1:19:31You just signed him for a long term deal.
- 1:19:33What do you do with Trevor Lawrence?
- 1:19:35You got to hope. Like you can't do anything,
- 1:19:37Yeah. You just got to hope that the
- 1:19:38the coaching will finally get on to him because so bad.
- 1:19:41It seems like a lot of these seems like I don't know if it's
- 1:19:43hips, I don't know if it's just he doesn't have the second reads
- 1:19:46right because I think Colton's really doing a.
- 1:19:48What is what is what is it with these Clemson quarterbacks too?
- 1:19:53I mean, Deshaun Watson look like he was going to be special.
- 1:19:55Then he was doing the rub and tug and now he's he looks like
- 1:19:59he's done with his career. And now you have Trevor
- 1:20:01Lawrence. He was the next big thing.
- 1:20:04He was the next, he was the next slight thing that everybody
- 1:20:07calls, the next slice for, for the NFL superstar quarterback,
- 1:20:11and he's not a slice. He's like, I don't know, he's a
- 1:20:15double whammy. He has the perfect or talent.
- 1:20:18He has the perfect body type that you would want to.
- 1:20:20He's a chicken finger that's not cooked.
- 1:20:23Yeah, and his brain looks cooked for some of the decisions he's
- 1:20:25making and. He's a raw chicken finger,
- 1:20:28that's what he is. The Raiders stayed in the game.
- 1:20:30Literally. Maybe I got to dip him in some
- 1:20:32honey mustard. The Raiders stayed in that game
- 1:20:34literally for that reason because Jacksonville was out
- 1:20:35playing them, like you said, on pretty much every other angle.
- 1:20:38Shout out to Cam Little as well. The NFL record with the field
- 1:20:40goals 68 yards and that broke the record.
- 1:20:44As far as the other game with the Broncos and the Texans, I
- 1:20:45think it was a bad matchup for the Broncos when you look at
- 1:20:47Stingley on Sutton too. Dude, you're going to tell me
- 1:20:49the Broncos are a good team right now?
- 1:20:52I think they're I think they're a good dude.
- 1:20:54They barely beat The Jets. They shouldn't have beaten The
- 1:20:56Jets. OK?
- 1:20:57The Jets practically gave that game away.
- 1:20:59They shouldn't have won this game.
- 1:21:01And this is a bad Houston. They shouldn't.
- 1:21:04Have beat the Giants. They shouldn't have beaten the
- 1:21:05Giants. They're not a good team, They're
- 1:21:08really not. And to me they're flawed.
- 1:21:11There are 70, seven and two flawed football team.
- 1:21:14I know your son doesn't want to hear it.
- 1:21:16I know Carter doesn't want. To hear it no, no, he he admits
- 1:21:18it too. He's like we legitimately are a
- 1:21:22soft so he like we could almost be undefeated, but we could
- 1:21:25literally be almost last in our division.
- 1:21:27Like he even said it last night. We were at dinner and, you know,
- 1:21:30we're sitting there just, you know, chopping it up and he was
- 1:21:34like, he's like low key dad Bo Nicks was ass.
- 1:21:37And I'm like, and I mean, and he's a huge Broncos fan.
- 1:21:40He's like, yeah, we pulled it out.
- 1:21:41But he goes, I don't know how much more we can keep doing this
- 1:21:44and how we stay in these games, like goes defensively.
- 1:21:47But yeah, Carter, even Garden even admits to he's like, it's
- 1:21:50not a seven and two team, but yeah, it's it's I wonder what
- 1:21:54Sanderson would have to say about this.
- 1:21:55We got to get him on again, too. But yeah, these two games are
- 1:21:58funny because it's like literally he'll.
- 1:22:00Make excuses. He'll make excuses.
- 1:22:02Yeah, probably. And one of my best is a Raiders
- 1:22:04fan and he's like, he goes, I think I threw one of my slippers
- 1:22:07because we find a way to lose every week.
- 1:22:11And I'm like, man, did you see Max Crosby's tweet?
- 1:22:13He's like, just hang in there with us like we're we're real
- 1:22:16close and whatever. I'll just like I don't know
- 1:22:19about. That yeah, if they had Sam
- 1:22:20Darnold. He was like, hang with us and
- 1:22:22I'm like Raiders fans are a little different.
- 1:22:25Sam Darnold had a monster game in on Sunday Night Football.
- 1:22:29Who cares about the? One of 24 for four touchdowns,
- 1:22:34one pick, 330 yards. Of course.
- 1:22:39Jackson, Smith and Jigva leading the NFL by a lot in receiving
- 1:22:44this year. You called that one.
- 1:22:46That would be me. OK 948 total receiving yards on
- 1:22:51the season and he's had his bye week already.
- 1:22:54He's ahead of the next guy. Pretty easy.
- 1:22:56It's pretty easy when he's the only weapon that is throwing
- 1:22:59too. I mean he throws the boy I.
- 1:23:01Said he was going to get the record.
- 1:23:02That was exactly my reason that they were going to.
- 1:23:05Have I'll go harder to get doubled though to more so
- 1:23:08because he is the only weapon. He is getting doubled, but he's
- 1:23:10that good. He's just that he's that dude.
- 1:23:13Pretty awesome to see him rise to that level.
- 1:23:16Commanders though. I mean, the story of this game
- 1:23:18is, you know, and Dan Quinn took the blame for it today.
- 1:23:22Running Jay, you know, running Jayden Daniels out there first
- 1:23:26game back from injury, playing him late in the game when it's
- 1:23:30they're just getting pounded and he dislocates his elbow.
- 1:23:35He's probably out for the rest of the season.
- 1:23:37Maybe he comes back late in the season.
- 1:23:38This isn't it isn't his throwing.
- 1:23:40He's done. But why would you?
- 1:23:42They're not going anywhere. I don't think we see him again
- 1:23:45till next year, the Rams and Saints.
- 1:23:48I took the Rams defense streaming this week.
- 1:23:50I'm very happy I did. The Paints are terrible.
- 1:23:52A horrible, horrible franchise. Thank you, because they'll
- 1:23:56probably beat The Jets just like they beat the Giants.
- 1:23:59Well, they're both terrible franchises.
- 1:24:01I wrote a story, I have a story up on a website about Sam
- 1:24:05Darnold and and the growth of Sam Darnold.
- 1:24:07It's a great article, Speedy. You tell them it's a great
- 1:24:10article. Go check it out on the Worldwide
- 1:24:12Sports Radio Network. I put it together.
- 1:24:14I gave you the insurance and the outs of Russell Wilson and Geno
- 1:24:18Smith and why the right jet is in the right place at the right
- 1:24:22time. And it is a it's a great
- 1:24:25article. Go check it out.
- 1:24:27It's about all about Sammy boy. He should be a jet right now.
- 1:24:30I'm I'm I'm very upset, but Oh yeah, Seattle is explosive.
- 1:24:35They're contender. They're definitely contender
- 1:24:37offensively. I got to see more on this
- 1:24:39defense. I got to see more on this
- 1:24:41secondary. I want to see them against the
- 1:24:44elite teams and do it against lead teams if they can do it.
- 1:24:47Sam Donald, I believe is the real deal.
- 1:24:49I think this team can compete. The Commanders are done that
- 1:24:52their season is over. I think their season was over.
- 1:24:56Even if Jayden Daniels was the quarterback of this team, I just
- 1:24:59don't. I think it's he's got the yips
- 1:25:01and I think he has the sophomore year.
- 1:25:03I think Jayden Daniels will be good next year.
- 1:25:06I don't know if he's as good as Caleb Williams is and that's why
- 1:25:09I said it. Teams are figuring him out.
- 1:25:12They got tape on him now. So I I'm not saying JD, I'm not
- 1:25:16saying saying that he's not good.
- 1:25:19I just think you you got to watch now and see what he's
- 1:25:22going to be so. Yeah, for everyone who's all
- 1:25:23very loose trying to say, oh, it's just not his throwing arm,
- 1:25:26he'll be back fine. It's still harder for a running
- 1:25:28quarterback than it is for a pocket quarterback because you
- 1:25:30still got to, you still got to run, you still got to make
- 1:25:32moves. Stiff arm even just catching the
- 1:25:34snap too as a quarterback too, that's going to be hard.
- 1:25:36So hopefully. James, I feel bad for him.
- 1:25:38He's definitely on my fantasy. Team yeah, and Dan Quinn
- 1:25:40definitely deserves blame for leaving him in the game that
- 1:25:42long as far as as. You're going to blame Dan Quinn?
- 1:25:46Come on. Dan Quinn was trying to first of
- 1:25:50all, you go to your star quarterback and you say to your
- 1:25:52star quarterback, do you want to play?
- 1:25:54You want to continue playing? He's going to tell you yes, and
- 1:25:57he's competitive and you're not going to tell your competitive
- 1:26:00superstar, OK, I'm going to take you out of the game.
- 1:26:03He wants to, he believes. You are Errol.
- 1:26:05You got to tell the quarterback. Doesn't happen.
- 1:26:09We get in our own ways for that reason, Errol, like where we
- 1:26:13know we probably shouldn't, but as competitors we want to and we
- 1:26:17know better because then something like this happened.
- 1:26:20That's why coaches are there. The coach has to do that because
- 1:26:23the player won't, the player won't take themselves out if
- 1:26:26they're a real man. And that's the whole point.
- 1:26:29You know, like you got to have a coach who looks at the guy and
- 1:26:32be like, you know, I had to do this in the.
- 1:26:34House, How many times do you see it?
- 1:26:36How many times do you see it? It happens every so often.
- 1:26:39It happens every so often. It doesn't happen.
- 1:26:43It doesn't happen when you're a competitor.
- 1:26:45If you don't take him out and and you're going to blame Dan
- 1:26:47Quinn, take. Him out.
- 1:26:49It happens every. Game I I it.
- 1:26:51Happens every time the game is out of hand.
- 1:26:53You got to take out the starters.
- 1:26:54I usually don't see that in unless the game it like the last
- 1:26:58two minutes of the game. It was 10 minutes left of the
- 1:27:01game. I mean, he's not going to pull
- 1:27:03him out. He's 38 to 7.
- 1:27:04It doesn't matter. He's not going to pull him out
- 1:27:06of the game. Most, but most coaches.
- 1:27:09He disagreed with himself. He said that he's screwed up.
- 1:27:12Yeah, well, he's, that's what he says now, but I don't think he
- 1:27:15would have changed it at any point if he if it were, if he
- 1:27:19were to go back and do it again, he'd still do it the same way.
- 1:27:22I really. Do transitioning to the Seahawks
- 1:27:24now. Fish, I'll give you credit, you
- 1:27:25were this is one of your playoff teams At the beginning of the
- 1:27:27year. I was worried about them because
- 1:27:28there's a lot of new pieces all at once in that new offensive
- 1:27:31coordinator when they strangely fired their one last year.
- 1:27:33But and Donald's comfortable with Clint Kubiak.
- 1:27:35He was in San Francisco with him and you were seeing the results
- 1:27:37are like you're saying, Sam Donald's been one of the best
- 1:27:39quarterbacks in the NFL. That doesn't really get talked
- 1:27:41about as much as he should. And should be a jet.
- 1:27:43And that defensive line for Seattle's actually played very
- 1:27:46well too. Actually, they're one of the top
- 1:27:47five highest quarterback win rates in the NFL.
- 1:27:51That was a concern for me going in the year they're secondary.
- 1:27:53I agree with you. I will still kind of question
- 1:27:54marks there, but this is a really good team.
- 1:27:56Shut the music. I want to say something and this
- 1:27:59goes back to The Jets organization and I'm upset about
- 1:28:02it. And I'm going to say it quickly
- 1:28:03because we got a lot more to do and we have to go to a sports
- 1:28:06minute. When I watch Sam Donald do what
- 1:28:09he's doing right now, it makes me sick.
- 1:28:11It really, sincerely makes me sick because I said it when The
- 1:28:16Jets decided to move him for a second and a fourth, I said this
- 1:28:19is a big mistake. I think Joe Douglas should have
- 1:28:22held on to him. He was 23 years old, 22, going
- 1:28:26to be 23. He was a kid.
- 1:28:28He was the youngest quarterback drafted in NFL history.
- 1:28:32And to let this kid go the way they did and he went to
- 1:28:36Carolina, he didn't succeed, but he just needed a spot where he
- 1:28:39felt comfortable with an offensive coordinator was going
- 1:28:41to let him be himself. You see the opportunity that he
- 1:28:46is starting to bring to the table for all the teams that he
- 1:28:50played for, Minnesota and now Seattle.
- 1:28:52I'm sick. I'm sick to my stomach.
- 1:28:54I've nothing else to say about that.
- 1:28:57So wasn't Darnold there in Carolina with Baker Mayfield?
- 1:29:01Too. Yes, he was.
- 1:29:02He started over. Baker, are you more sick to your
- 1:29:04stomach than I am about Daniel Jones?
- 1:29:07No, you should be sick. You don't think so?
- 1:29:10I feel like, I feel like I'm not that sick.
- 1:29:13You should be sick. About Daniel.
- 1:29:14Jones, you should be sick. Because he was so bad with us.
- 1:29:18That's because the team never gave him weapons.
- 1:29:20They gave him nothing. But like, but to be fair, are
- 1:29:22they ever going to be able to give him weapons?
- 1:29:24This is an incompetent franchise.
- 1:29:26I'm kind of glad he's gone. I feel like Sam Darnold.
- 1:29:29They just didn't wait long enough.
- 1:29:30I'm just to let him develop. My stomach, man, six of my
- 1:29:33stomach watching this, man, it really bothers me.
- 1:29:37And, and, and if he wins a Super Bowl with Seattle at any point,
- 1:29:40it's going to make me sick. It's going to make me really.
- 1:29:42Now the real question Jabba, do you think Sam Darla Baker
- 1:29:45Mayfield turns their careers around because of Matt Rule and
- 1:29:47Carolina? I'm going to tell you this.
- 1:29:49Remember I said this, don't be surprised if Baker and Sam meet
- 1:29:53in the playoffs and it's a battle of quarterbacks and they
- 1:29:56both have something to prove for each other because they both
- 1:30:00played on the same team and Sam won the job and, and a lot of
- 1:30:03people and in Baker blames who there's a defensive coordinator
- 1:30:08that is coaching for the New York Jets right now is the
- 1:30:11reason why he blames him for not getting that starting position.
- 1:30:15So that's a whole nother story. Thank you to all the fans.

- 1:31:19us will be Tim Donahey. Check out his book Personal
- 1:31:22Foul, his autobiography. It gets in very in depth with
- 1:31:26the NBA betting scandal, what he was arrested for, and now we're
- 1:31:29seeing what many others are being investigated.
- 1:31:32Arrested for Isn't it fitting that all this is happening and
- 1:31:36now Donaghy is coming out with a book and and now it's starting.
- 1:31:41Everything's starting to hit the fan about the NBA and Donaghy's
- 1:31:44been talking about it for a long, long time.
- 1:31:47I think this is very, very fitting and I'm I'm going to
- 1:31:51have a lot of fun with this interview.
- 1:31:52I'm going to tell you this right now.
- 1:31:54It's a must listen to. If you don't know who Tim
- 1:31:57Donaghy is, look it up and look him up.
- 1:32:01He was a part, I remember, of the Sacramento Lakers series,
- 1:32:07Sacramento Spurs Series A. He has been a big part of the
- 1:32:12back end of the NBA. Why?
- 1:32:14The NBA is really trying to protect themselves with these
- 1:32:17betting scandals and I think he is.
- 1:32:20I'm going to get out some interesting information for all
- 1:32:24the fans that are into the NBA and sports betting.
- 1:32:28Why Tim Donaghy shouldn't be I wouldn't say he's not.
- 1:32:33He wasn't a problem, but he shouldn't be all to blame what
- 1:32:36the NBA is transitioned into. That's that's my opinion and I
- 1:32:39think Tim Donaghy is going to express his feelings towards
- 1:32:43towards the NBA when he comes on this show on Wednesday.
- 1:32:47So stay tuned and get ready for a great interview.
- 1:32:49We're very excited for this. This is something very, very big
- 1:32:53and he's been only on a couple of shows, a couple of marketing
- 1:32:57shows and for him to come on our show says a lot about what he
- 1:33:01thinks of us. So we really appreciate him for
- 1:33:04joining us on Wednesday. That's it.
