- 0:01Hello and welcome to another episode of the Christian Reef
- 0:04podcast. Joining me today is Dutch deals,
- 0:07and we are, I guess, kind of going through a restructuring
- 0:13with the podcast. I don't know how else to put it.
- 0:15Basically, I'm looking at different ways to change up the
- 0:18podcast. Make it interesting change the
- 0:21dynamic. So basically here's what I'm
- 0:23laying out, right? The interviews will stay as
- 0:26normal. It will be me.
- 0:27Interviewing another person in that manner, it seems to work
- 0:30people. Seem to like it.
- 0:32That's how it will be. You'll get occasional episodes
- 0:35where it's just me talking at length about a particular topic
- 0:38because can't think of any other way else to do it.
- 0:43It depends I go into a lot of research just like I do with the
- 0:46interviews. It works.
- 0:48I don't know necessarily that it's what everyone else is into
- 0:51but I like doing them from time to time and they bridge the gap
- 0:55here in there. So you'll occasionally see those
- 0:57and also more recent development is that Dutch deals will be
- 1:04joining me on a more of a permanent basis and we will be
- 1:07doing these type of podcasts where we pretty much.
- 1:10Anything we say how it goes, we'll see what happens.
- 1:15This is one of the reasons why I wanted to make the podcast, kind
- 1:18of dynamic like different levels and stuff different things going
- 1:24on because you know, you can never really Bank on people's
- 1:29schedules and stuff. And you know, I want to keep
- 1:31this podcast going as much as I possibly can which is why I came
- 1:34up with this idea of having different styles different of it
- 1:38and it makes it interesting because you never know Every
- 1:40time that you drop on the YouTube and you check this
- 1:43podcast out or you know, if you're listening on Spotify or
- 1:46apple podcast you never know what to expect and I kind of
- 1:49like that element to a podcast. Think it makes it more
- 1:53interesting and kind of you know, makes it more interesting
- 1:57in terms of like the anticipation, you know, you
- 2:00never know what to expect, you never know what the next thing
- 2:02is going to be and you know obviously the last episode
- 2:06episode 30, we did a ask Christian and you know, It's has
- 2:11a couple of use. There's a bit of an interest
- 2:13there. I think as we grow as a podcast,
- 2:15it will become more interesting. And certainly when we get more
- 2:19questions coming in, we can make it into more of a regular thing.
- 2:22But for now, I wanted to take this moment to welcome Dutch
- 2:26deals or board officially. So he's going to be a co-host of
- 2:29sorts. And yeah, we're just going to
- 2:31see where this train rolls and see what happens, you know, just
- 2:37real quickly. I just want to say, you know, 30
- 2:39episodes we did it. And thanks to touch deals for a
- 2:42perfect appearing on that episode.
- 2:45And yeah, to the next 30 or 20 or 50, or have 737ng.
- 2:52That's pretty specific. No anyways, how you doing?
- 2:56How you doing? I'm doing great shortly before
- 3:00this podcast started, I noticed that when I forgot that the
- 3:06camera was mirrored and I did and I did this.
- 3:11So, I'm sorry. If you can't see this, I'm
- 3:13holding up my fingers, so that it looks like a 30, but I forgot
- 3:18that it was a mirrored. So it was 0 and 3.
- 3:21Yeah, yeah. So it's not the 30th episode,
- 3:24it's the 03 episode. I kind of can't believe it.
- 3:28It's about 2:30 already. I mean, it's gone quite quickly
- 3:34admittedly. I don't have like a clear
- 3:35schedule for this. I've kind of done that on
- 3:37purpose because one thing that did kind of stress me out and
- 3:40they did, the tcga podcast was that it was every week.
- 3:44It was like we have to have one every week and I can even though
- 3:47it was just once a week and you think oh that's not that
- 3:49difficult, is it? It just felt like there was this
- 3:52pressure to come up with something and I feel like it's
- 3:55better if if, you know You do them as and when when you
- 3:59actually have an idea when you have something to bring to the
- 4:02table. So same way that I promised them
- 4:04sort of fabricating, something on the spot anyway.
- 4:08Yeah, I mean you can do it, you know, that's not to say, it
- 4:10doesn't work but I think it's it's a lot better when you come
- 4:13in with a clear idea when you have your when you know, what
- 4:16you want to do, I have the similar thing with Vlogs.
- 4:18I mean I get all just videos in general.
- 4:20I try and upload as frequently as possible, but if I was to
- 4:24upload once a week, like My last Vlog that I did, I felt like it
- 4:29was just empty because it was me on a day off and I wasn't really
- 4:33doing anything. Yeah.
- 4:36So, apologies, if that Vlog wasn't up to standard, but the
- 4:42Bug King one should come soon. And maybe we could talk about
- 4:47that more a bit later on if you want.
- 4:49But I think you touched on a good point.
- 4:50They're actually just real quick.
- 4:51I wanted to say that too cuz I've said this in recent Vlogs
- 4:55on my second. That you know the end of the day
- 5:00that's kind of the whole reason I made a second Channel as well
- 5:03is that there will be a place where I could just randomly put
- 5:05any old shit with no planning and stuff and I am working on
- 5:09it. I am trying to make it better
- 5:10and it seems to be the hub for like when there's something
- 5:13trending and I'm interested in saying something on it.
- 5:16That's where I put it or if I find something quirky or just
- 5:19fancy doing a random Vlog or put it there.
- 5:22But with the main Channel, I seem to be approaching it in
- 5:25this very serious. Inner like, you know, I've got
- 5:28to take this seriously and I can't just put any old thing
- 5:30there and you know, I really think about it and it has been
- 5:33overkill for anyone. Subscribe to my channel lately,
- 5:36it's been like several uploads a day and a lot of that is because
- 5:40everything has been pre-scheduled.
- 5:42So that's one of the reasons why but another reason is that I'm
- 5:45trying to keep it varied at the moment because there's going to
- 5:49be a point where the let's play series ends and then it's going
- 5:54to go back to you know, not very Often Vlogs.
- 5:57And for me, that's kind of a good thing because I've built up
- 6:01a bunch of content for people to.
- 6:05I guess I could content backlog or whatever if you want to call
- 6:08it that. And I'm basically following your
- 6:11approach as well. Like, I don't for instance, my
- 6:14Vlog series I think I have like 34 Vlogs, but they seem to do a
- 6:20lot better when they're like once in a while and they're on a
- 6:24particular topic. So like my last one was on.
- 6:26Unemployed for six months or have a long.
- 6:29It's been. So I knew what I was going to
- 6:32talk about. I knew I had like a kind of I
- 6:36guess approaching it like a story in a way.
- 6:38I think that's like what a good log is.
- 6:40It's like either you're laying down that particular day or a
- 6:44particular thing or moment or you're trying to kind of just
- 6:48just throw your thoughts on a particular thing, but it's like
- 6:52a it's like a friggin Netflix episode.
- 6:56I mean, Way. That's the funny thing is well,
- 6:58as I look at the lengths of them and I never anticipate them to
- 7:03be that long, but they end up like they really vary as well.
- 7:06They can be anything from 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 20 minutes,
- 7:1030 minutes, even in some cases and that's not planned, you know
- 7:15I come into it with like okay I'm going to speak about this
- 7:17this this and this and anything else, whatever.
- 7:21And I think I do a pretty good job of trying to keep them calm.
- 7:26Pensive, I guess succinct whatever.
- 7:29But II do approach them differently on that main Channel
- 7:33as opposed to the second Channel, which I feel goes back
- 7:36to what you were saying before about.
- 7:37You know, it's better to take the time to do that rather than
- 7:40just throw it out there. Like, when you're unsure and
- 7:43you're like, maybe I'll do a vlog.
- 7:45Maybe, I don't feel good about that.
- 7:48That's fog. Like, I knew the day after I saw
- 7:51the views and it's, it's got my regular audience about 26:28
- 7:56around. But it's not up to par of say
- 8:03different Vlog that has about 80 views.
- 8:06Yeah, I think a lot of these things do take time as well.
- 8:09I mean, because they have different purposes like when I
- 8:12look at the clips from my, from my podcast, for instance and the
- 8:16podcast in general like they don't suddenly do tons of use
- 8:20occasionally, I get a particular, guess they'll come
- 8:22on, maybe they have a big following and then they got a
- 8:25lot of views, right? That does happen.
- 8:26But sometimes like randomly certain Clips or certain
- 8:29episodes pick up a lot of traction.
- 8:32After some time for me, I'm not that bothered.
- 8:35If the clips don't get a lot of views.
- 8:37Like for me, it's more about attracting people to the podcast
- 8:41via the clips. That's kind of my mentality for
- 8:44that when it comes to the, like the Vlogs or the acting videos,
- 8:48or the music videos, or whatever, that's the same.
- 8:53I had the same mentality as you. It's like it.
- 8:55I feel like it should be Planned.
- 8:57You should take your time, you know, in a way, like reward your
- 9:02regular audience. I don't just put any, oh, shit,
- 9:04there. But I suppose like you can't
- 9:06always get it 100%, right? Like I feel like if you at least
- 9:10come in with a plan, then you've got something to work with at
- 9:14least? Yeah I'm starting I'm starting
- 9:17up in you sort of series. I've been wanting to do it for a
- 9:21while and I've figured out how I want to do it and my And Louis
- 9:27the editor that I told you about, he's been at it in my
- 9:30last couple of videos and he's made for me a montage for a
- 9:39game. Rainbow Six Siege.
- 9:41Oh yeah, I saw you drop that, you know, I'm thinking about
- 9:44making a little mini Montage. I've uploaded the first one and
- 9:49when I say many Montage, it is pretty small because I wanted
- 9:53to. It's about a minute and 30 60.
- 9:57I've got it, I've got a plan for that.
- 9:59I'm using it as a teaser. I'm using it as bait.
- 10:04You know what? In all honesty, you be better
- 10:06off, not posting that on YouTube, but posting it on like
- 10:10Instagram somewhere like that, where you draw the traction
- 10:12elsewhere, and that people prefer I uploaded to Instagram
- 10:17as well. Yeah, but I'm just saying in
- 10:19general, I feel like those videos Tend to do better on
- 10:24those mediums because they're designed for smaller videos.
- 10:26But that being said, I don't know.
- 10:28I mean you can upload full videos on Instagram as well and
- 10:31now so it's all about using. I will upload it to Instagram
- 10:36and maybe even Twitter as well because mean using the right
- 10:39hashtags on Instagram and Twitter can bring some people
- 10:44and if they're interested enough, maybe they'll go on to
- 10:46the channel and maybe watch the video there or watch some other
- 10:49stuff and maybe even luckily subscribe but I'm just using it
- 10:54to see what people think of it. Hmm.
- 10:58And then if it gets, I said 10 likes.
- 11:02But if it gets close to 10, I'll probably make another one which
- 11:06is longer and better and more put together, you know, when it
- 11:11comes to social media like Twitter, Instagram, stuff like
- 11:16that. Like I get very confused and
- 11:19I'll tell you why. So, I regularly post on Twitter
- 11:22and Instagram. Because that's like my main
- 11:24source of just getting the word out.
- 11:27I've taken to uploading on Facebook as well.
- 11:30So I don't upload like random Vlogs or anything.
- 11:32But if it's a proper video, like a no music, video are acting
- 11:39podcast whatever. Then it will go as an upload on
- 11:42the Facebook. So, I won't promote necessarily
- 11:45on the you on the Facebook but unless it's the perfect, the
- 11:48Facebook, the face. Yeah.
- 11:50Is this the 90s again? Well, yes.
- 11:53First in fact, the first of all, first of all, Facebook was not
- 11:56invented in the 90s. Supplemental.
- 12:00It was originally called the Facebook.
- 12:03I know that time finally pipe down child simple.
- 12:13Like, as I said, I'm just I'm trying out something new with
- 12:17it, but I'll with regards to what you were saying before
- 12:20about during in audiences. I find it very confusing because
- 12:24occasionally, I do find that I am drawing a bit of traction
- 12:28through Instagram and Twitter and stuff but take my let's play
- 12:32series. The Pokémon series is an
- 12:34example. So I'll have like, you know,
- 12:36Pokemon retro games game but like stuff like that is
- 12:40hashtags, right? Yeah.
- 12:42And I'll be honest, the I expected to get like a sizable
- 12:46amount of views for this for this, let's play.
- 12:49And I've got nothing, it's just been dead.
- 12:52Then what? I'm waiting for it to end, to be
- 12:54honest. And it's kind of sad.
- 12:58I mean, you No, I did. I did put a lot of time and
- 13:00effort into that and, you know, it didn't work, but you know,
- 13:03these things are known. As that's just what happens.
- 13:05YouTube, YouTube is a big gamble and it either goes really well
- 13:09or to kick in the balls. Yeah, it's just a scam.
- 13:12I mean, I think one reason might be that there's just a lot of of
- 13:15those. Let's Plays.
- 13:17That could be wrong reason. Another reason just maybe
- 13:19there's just no interest fair enough but the interesting thing
- 13:22to me is that every time I upload or you know, on social
- 13:27media like Twitter Instagram, Whatever it gets like boat.
- 13:31Like they get a ton of likes and retweets and all of this, right?
- 13:36But none of those people watch the video and I just, I don't
- 13:39understand why, I mean, I guess. Do they like the picture?
- 13:44Maybe or it's a throwback but like it's like if you take
- 13:47Twitter, I have the exact same accounts retweeted me every
- 13:50single time. One of them is a retro one and
- 13:53one is like a something else related to game watch the video,
- 13:58stop it. It was just curious.
- 14:00I just don't, I don't understand that.
- 14:02I all just in general, like, accounts that exists just to
- 14:06retweet things that happen to have like a particular keyword
- 14:09in them, you know, I don't, I don't understand that, I've
- 14:13never understood that. Yeah, it's just that back to
- 14:15what you said about Facebook. I've noticed that a lot of My
- 14:19Views come from there because I've boosted a couple of my post
- 14:25and they've gotten like 600 to 700 reach.
- 14:28Russia's like insane when she spend.
- 14:32Just two pounds, just one day, one day for an advert and yeah,
- 14:39it's not bad. So in and reach for to quit, I
- 14:43just I had spend money on it. You know what, I'm going to try.
- 14:45I'm gonna try it and I got 700 reach.
- 14:47I was like, all right, look instead of this.
- 14:50Again, every company I've worked for like Facebook advertising
- 14:56has always been part of it, but it my impression is that it
- 15:00doesn't work like it less. I think it might work for
- 15:04certain industries but for a lot of Industries, it just doesn't
- 15:08work for whatever reason. And if and if you do do it, you
- 15:13get like loads of reach and loads of like, comments from
- 15:18like, I don't know, Africa, India whatever but like they all
- 15:21look like fake counts like not real.
- 15:23Like just, I don't really understand that.
- 15:25But like, for instance, when I work for this Finance Company a
- 15:28couple of years back, we would do Facebook paid advertising and
- 15:33it just wouldn't really work like it would work for certain
- 15:35things if you just did a really basic post like Okay, for that,
- 15:42it was trading like online trading tip, be like, open an
- 15:45account, click the banner, and then that would be it.
- 15:49And then it has like a ton of like emojis like tick success,
- 15:52graph, whatever, and those would work but if you did anything
- 15:57else nothing and when I say work like we're saying it might get
- 16:06like a couple of clicks, a couple of download something
- 16:09like that, but ultimately, it was just Pointless and plus
- 16:13Facebook has like really strict guidelines and advertising at
- 16:16least for the financial industry.
- 16:18So as far as like, because I've used Facebook advertising for my
- 16:21pages and stuff and got like a few likes here and there, but
- 16:25ultimately, it's like, doesn't work.
- 16:27And I don't know, like, I think that you just have very, very
- 16:31using system. Yeah, I just think you have to
- 16:33be very selective with what you do with, and I think a lot of it
- 16:37comes down to luck. I think.
- 16:38Like, it might work if you did, like, So you're a musician and
- 16:43you do a cover and you boost that maybe it could work if the
- 16:49right people, see it and it's sharing to it.
- 16:51But again, even though you're doing paid advertising your, you
- 16:56know, your it's a sponsored thing and normally when people
- 17:00see a sponsored thing, the tendency is to kind of ignore
- 17:03it. You know what I mean?
- 17:04Like you occasionally might look at it, you know, I sometimes get
- 17:07like on Instagram, you go spots around them sponsored
- 17:11Advertisement. Yeah.
- 17:12Well, I obviously ignore the advertisements but like, you
- 17:14know, sometimes you get like a sponsored accounts, it's the
- 17:16normal Instagram account. Yeah.
- 17:18That's that's all one man. It would be like, somebody's
- 17:20like, dog or yeah. Like someone on a bike.
- 17:23Doing a stunt or something, which actually draws me in.
- 17:26Because I like that. Yeah, he's cheeky.
- 17:29Because I'll think, oh, it's just a normal post from one of
- 17:31my followers or someone I follow.
- 17:33So, I'll go double heart. And then I'll realize like, oh,
- 17:36okay, who's this? And I'll click on it and I'll
- 17:39realize even that. It's just some business or it.
- 17:42Is legit just a random normal person that's been boosted that.
- 17:47Yeah, but we've done it a couple of times and it was, it was
- 17:52when, you know, I had, I'd spend money over, I never did.
- 17:56Consecutive ones, like I never paid for more than one day and I
- 18:00never paid more than two or three pounds because and I
- 18:04didn't even do it that often because if I got myself too
- 18:10focused on those numbers, I keep doing it and doing it and doing
- 18:14it. And eventually I have no money
- 18:15left. So I was smart about the way I
- 18:17did it. But even then, I'd rather make
- 18:21my own audience than, like, drag them in by sponsoring.
- 18:26Self. I feel like the maybe the paper
- 18:30paid advertising route, only really works once you have that
- 18:32established audience generally, I don't think you can
- 18:36realistically, build an audience with that and less Unless you're
- 18:42like a really straightforward business that's selling like
- 18:45confectionery or I don't like flowers or some kind of serve
- 18:50it. Like I think it can be like
- 18:52something like Amazon. Maybe, maybe.
- 18:56But I'm thinking more, like, if you're starting up a business,
- 18:58for instance, you're trying to build a following and stuff.
- 19:01Like, but even then, you know, you have to put a lot of time
- 19:05into like, the actual Social media game, so to speak,
- 19:10following people tweeting things, retweeting, things
- 19:15commenting, like, all of that stuff.
- 19:17That doesn't really seem like a big deal but is like, probably
- 19:21the biggest part of social media as far as probably dropped off
- 19:25from doing that. Hmm, I think you and I think you
- 19:29and I both know that snow is Ryan.
- 19:38Ryan. Joseph Ryan Joe, yes.
- 19:40Yes. I remember that, go.
- 19:42What happened to that guy? I don't know.
- 19:44I try to, I try to message him on Twitter a couple while ago
- 19:47and nothing. Okay.
- 19:50And then he reappeared Eerie resurfaced on YouTube within
- 19:53Omegle video. Okay.
- 19:57Did you wait, you say Omegle. I'm Eagle.
- 19:59It was, it was working. So, make omega.
- 20:02Let me go. Whatever it is.
- 20:04What kind of Amigo video? What?
- 20:06Like, just make him Miss. Like, it was, yeah, it was like
- 20:08eating peanut butter and talking to people is that eating peanut
- 20:11butter with a spoon. And we we kind of like spoke
- 20:16about these things. And I kind of Debunked some of
- 20:21the thing. Like, I disagreed with him on
- 20:23certain things and agree with him when other things, but as
- 20:25far as like Twitter advertising is concerned, he did actually
- 20:29get results for people, but I just I kind of said to him, like
- 20:33I think he should charge from the get-go and he wanted to
- 20:36offer like a free service draw people in then get payment,
- 20:40which is fair enough. That's his own business and
- 20:42stuff. But I mean, just it's what he
- 20:43did to me and he asked me what I wanted to do and I said, well,
- 20:48I'm 16 I Really have any money that I'm making the right.
- 20:53Yes, give on a regular basis. But if you want to offer tips
- 20:58for free or whatever you want to offer for free to help, they'll
- 21:02be great. But I don't want any of your,
- 21:05you know, your your paid stuff because I don't want to pay for
- 21:08advice. When it might be things.
- 21:10I already know. It wasn't just that I think he
- 21:12was offering like legit. Like I remember giving him
- 21:15access to, I think I get every channel.
- 21:19Gave him access to my account or something, but not like direct
- 21:22access. It was like some sort of thing
- 21:24you could do. The person kind of If you give
- 21:30him your, give him your screen, kind of.
- 21:32So I can't remember exactly what it is.
- 21:34It's like this thing. You can do, we give them a
- 21:36slight access and it means that they can like, tweet and retweet
- 21:39things from your account, no or retweet.
- 21:41I don't think they can tweet from your account but they can
- 21:45definitely retweet things. Follow people etcetera.
- 21:48But he stopped doing that after a while and I didn't really say
- 21:50anything. Well, I used to what I used to
- 21:53do is I actually was working. I went into the Sort of like the
- 22:00hashtags that I was posting on my tweets that wasn't pushing
- 22:05out when I made videos and I went into that and I started
- 22:09following loads of people in retreating their stuff and
- 22:12comment and say no good video things like that.
- 22:15Hmm didn't actually watch the video that only you know that
- 22:20such a liar. I just can't be in it.
- 22:23I was following them and then I'd wait a few days and the ones
- 22:27that didn't follow me back. I don't follow those so it was
- 22:30sort of a mutual following but I didn't feel good doing that
- 22:33because they don't follow me because they like, who I am?
- 22:36They just followed me because I followed them.
- 22:39It's a put off for me when I see accounts where, you know, they
- 22:42got like three thousand followers and their following
- 22:44three thousand people. I know exactly what they're
- 22:46doing from the get-go follow up and follow.
- 22:49Well yeah. But it's not to take take my
- 22:52Instagram and Twitter. For example a lot of my
- 22:56following its close to the number of Follow was, but I'm
- 23:01not following a lot of my followers.
- 23:02It, I'm 87. Following 107 followers.
- 23:07I just want to say as well, like I'm not saying that I have never
- 23:09engaged in this Behavior. I did, I think everyone has some
- 23:12point when they first start on social media because it seems
- 23:16like a preferable thing to do. It's the same as like you know,
- 23:21doing the whole sub for sub share or whatever.
- 23:24Like it all seems preferable and then you realize that actually
- 23:27you don't get any kind of mean. Meaningful support or following.
- 23:30And that everyone kind of has that same opinion of you of
- 23:33like, oh, you're just one of those people that just endlessly
- 23:36tweets and retweets. So, I think everyone kind of
- 23:40normally everyone kind of goes for that initial thing, and then
- 23:43drops off and kind of goes just back to normal at what we're
- 23:45talking to. Yeah.
- 23:47And I'm the same like, I get so many people like, randomly,
- 23:50follow me and I never follow them back and then we followed
- 23:55by people that I know on Meme accounts.
- 23:58Have 224 followers on Instagram and 80 following and those Eddie
- 24:04are people that I know in real life or meme accounts.
- 24:09I only really follow people that I actively engage with for the
- 24:14comic online friends with or actually no more life or
- 24:17whatever. And I feel like that I know
- 24:18works. Well, I noticed recently that
- 24:19you you unwell not until recently but you only just
- 24:23recently followed me back. Yeah, so I tried this thing
- 24:26where I wanted, I don't know what I was thinking.
- 24:28I was just like, yeah, I'll see what happens.
- 24:30So I basically unfollowed everyone on Twitter and
- 24:33Instagram and then I started following people back and I'm
- 24:38slowly kind of doing it on both, on both accounts, just sort of
- 24:43trying to drop off on your following, I think his daily.
- 24:47What I was planning to do, I guess I was trying to like
- 24:49cleanse it or something or try and like start from scratch.
- 24:54Well, I didn't exactly the same thing.
- 24:56You got about a thousand followers.
- 24:58And then he sort of went to his following and unfollowed
- 25:03everybody and then follow back like a people actually it does
- 25:08look pretty cool. I mean like a thousand followers
- 25:10and then you following a people. Yeah I know it's kind of a
- 25:15douche move if it's like one of your friends but I only
- 25:17unfollowed the people and Instagram and Twitter that like
- 25:21we used to be friends in school, but I don't think any of my
- 25:23followers really gave a shit like there's loads of people
- 25:26that still check out my posts on in the Instagram.
- 25:28I don't follow any more people. Some people that I know as well
- 25:32or like, knew from years ago, but like, I look at it as, like,
- 25:36I actually follow back people that I'm friends with who
- 25:40actively talk to me or whatever. Like, a lot of it was, was to
- 25:44kind of just because there are some people that I didn't like
- 25:47anymore for whatever reason. Yeah, I don't know.
- 25:54I just I'm still testing stuff out, really?
- 25:57And just kind of seeing what's what?
- 26:00But definitely as I grow and like because it the the accounts
- 26:03are still growing and I feel like when you get to a certain
- 26:10point as well, where you start actually getting some degree of
- 26:14success or something, you're not going to be able to control your
- 26:16follow count as in who's following you and it's going to
- 26:19be impossible to go through all of that stuff.
- 26:21So I want to spare Me choose who I follow and stuff and keep it
- 26:27keep it to just kind of friends. And I also I just I don't want
- 26:29to follow people just because like Of some kind like niceties.
- 26:35It's not like I you know I want to actually follow people.
- 26:38I'm friends with and like actually have engagements with
- 26:42you know kind of kind of treated like Facebook I guess you know I
- 26:45mean like what I've seen quite a lot from YouTubers is they'll
- 26:51say tweet me a photo of you buy my merch and I'll follow you
- 26:55back hate hate stuff like that. I mean I didn't I can see why
- 27:04because it gives initiative to 12 by the much.
- 27:09But maybe I don't know this two ways you can look at it one,
- 27:13being if you buy my merch, I'll follow you.
- 27:17And the other one is sort of. Well, look, I'm thankful that
- 27:22you bought my merch. I'll follow you back and you can
- 27:24just message me whenever you want.
- 27:25There's two ways you can controversial, but I'm just
- 27:27going to say it. Like, to me, that's almost like
- 27:30a begging. It's just like, if you're bit
- 27:32that big enough already, you already have a big enough
- 27:34following. You have people buying your
- 27:36merch supporting you. I mean, Jude, I mean, I'd kill
- 27:40to have just followers people, that actually gave a shit about
- 27:43what I was doing. So then ask those same people
- 27:45can't even have a big goal. Like, okay, for YouTube, I'd be
- 27:49happy to just have 1000 followers, but like I was saying
- 27:52like, you know, thousand subs for me, it bothers me that those
- 27:56big successful YouTubers, do that because it's like, they've
- 28:00already got everything they want.
- 28:04And now, like, now they're kind of just Taking it to the nth
- 28:08degree you know like if people want to buy your merch they will
- 28:10buy it like you don't need to keep reminding them every five
- 28:13fucking seconds like Hey by my match hey by my match hit by
- 28:16much there's just it's about it to me it's just like a bit.
- 28:25I don't know what the word is but like there are other
- 28:27examples in life of when people do stuff like this.
- 28:30And I just I just feel it's kind of low.
- 28:32It's not really, it's okay. Don't get me wrong, it's fine to
- 28:37like tweet out and say, hey, you know, I've got this new t-shirt,
- 28:43you know, really really appreciate want to buy it, that
- 28:44would be. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 28:46Like stuff like that. I'm not saying like don't
- 28:48promote yourself because obviously that you going to
- 28:50promote yourself but today, I can Endlessly do it.
- 28:54Like, I remember back in the day soon.
- 28:56Logan, Paul do it and it would just bother me the way he would
- 29:00do it. Like he would just be like by
- 29:01much by my match or like he do some whole Skittle thing.
- 29:06And then it would just be a big mass of plug for his
- 29:09merchandise, and it's like, yeah.
- 29:10Like, it would like one of his friends would say, Lov will what
- 29:14surely you wearing that? Oh, it's the brand-new much.
- 29:18Well, I don't mind that so much. I mean, it's kind of easy just
- 29:22by having a Off stuff like that. That's fine.
- 29:24I mean I'm more talking about like like him fair enough each
- 29:27to their own oh actually speaking of local.
- 29:30Oh his although his Snapchat is Snapchat stories a or okay to
- 29:35watch. So I would say he's okay in
- 29:37small doses for me, like I look at Pi take people as they are.
- 29:44I don't watch his content because it's just that I'm not
- 29:47his audience. Do you know what I mean?
- 29:48Like, that's me neither, but I respect him.
- 29:51I think he's a cool guy. I think he's in a sense that
- 29:54like, I, I've always been behind, like, underdogs behind
- 29:58people who fuck up. Like, to me.
- 30:01He's a normal human being. He fucked up.
- 30:04He learned from his mistake mid. Yeah, he's nobody a lot of
- 30:07steaks but at the same time he still has 10 million
- 30:11subscribers. So you know really did he do
- 30:14wrong because I mean you can't hit him so much that you want
- 30:17some like 10 million, people unsubscribe from him, if he
- 30:20still has a following Hmm. Then these different.
- 30:24All right, isn't it? Do you know what?
- 30:26Like, I can't speak for everyone but like, if we, if you remember
- 30:29the dead body thing, I remember thinking, at the time, I go,
- 30:33that's really fucked up like him and his mates look at the sick.
- 30:36And then there was the thing with Iran, but I remember
- 30:38thinking about it afterwards like just really insincere
- 30:42apology. Yeah.
- 30:43You know, like, I kind of looked at it like, okay.
- 30:47He's this young guy, young kid, even early 20s at the time.
- 30:53I think about it if you sent like okay, you're 16 right now,
- 30:56imagine that you suddenly become super rich and successful on
- 31:00YouTube. You've got a massive following,
- 31:02a pretty much everywhere. You go people, you know, are
- 31:06constantly surrounded in you, like they love you or this like
- 31:10that's going to change the way that you see the world.
- 31:13The way you approach things, the friends around, you are going to
- 31:16be different like a lot of things are going to change in
- 31:18your life and I feel like I'm not like defending what he did.
- 31:22But the same time I feel like, you know, it does change your
- 31:25perspective on things and I reckon he based on what I've
- 31:28seen from him and over the years, I think he kind of that
- 31:31came to that realization of like, you know what, I kind of
- 31:34went crazy for a little bit of time and now I've kind of seen
- 31:37some sense and grown up a bit and kind of just realized like,
- 31:42okay, this is what's happened. Whereas I feel that if it
- 31:45because, like, especially if you look at his brother right now, I
- 31:49feel like his brother still going for it.
- 31:50Jake is still going through the craziness of it all and that
- 31:54kind of illustrates the difference between the two.
- 31:57It's like you got one is kind of come out the other organ because
- 32:00Logan I can he's he's in no way. A bad guy is really good at what
- 32:07he does. I mean he must be but Jake and I
- 32:15just I don't know why I just can't stand them.
- 32:17Yeah I'd be really harsh on him before and I'm gonna I'm going
- 32:22to be a bit fair to Jake for once.
- 32:24I'm going to say I feel bad for him because I feel like He's in
- 32:29his brother's Shadow. No, not even, I'd say if
- 32:32anything, they're equal because they're different people.
- 32:36That's the thing. They are totally different
- 32:38people, but I feel like they kind of come as a package in the
- 32:42sense that like, they've both become famous really early on in
- 32:47their lives. Right?
- 32:49Because don't forget, Jake is a couple of years younger than
- 32:51Logan and Like I can remember what I was like, in my early
- 32:5720s, you know, like, I'm not saying that will 20 year olds
- 33:02about, this maturity is relative, it depends.
- 33:05But I definitely did not feel like an adult like 21, June, 19,
- 33:10or 20. I felt like a could I still felt
- 33:13like fucking clueless kid. I mean, even now I'm 27 and I am
- 33:17starting to feel like an adult but there's still so much like
- 33:21the reality of being an adult is you don't know what the fuck
- 33:23you're doing most of the time. But you learn to kind of be calm
- 33:28and just take each situation as it comes, learn, gain experience
- 33:33and move forward. And then you kind of do you just
- 33:36kind of go through life, like, winging it but like trying to
- 33:39learn trying to, you know, take the advice of others and do, do
- 33:43it your way. It's just that's just it though.
- 33:45I mean log and made a mistake and the adult thing was to learn
- 33:50from it and grow from it and he did.
- 33:53Yeah. Because If you don't do things
- 33:56wrong, you won't learn. He did the wrong thing by
- 34:04instead of just shutting the camera off and walking away kept
- 34:07on with it. And he tried to keep on, keep
- 34:11keep the video going, but he didn't know how so he sort of
- 34:13just kind of got stuck. Hmm.
- 34:18But he didn't he didn't know what to do and then once all of
- 34:24the backlash hit him. He was like yeah, that was
- 34:28wrong. I'm not going to do that again.
- 34:31Yeah, I don't think he realized the weight of the situation
- 34:34until sometime afterwards. I mean obviously his apology
- 34:37thing was was a big part of that.
- 34:40He was just trying to play the game and I think then he kind of
- 34:42realized like I actually you know like maybe after some time
- 34:45reflection months are gone, you know?
- 34:47I think he lost some sort of partnership thing deal that he
- 34:50had isn't it was nothing? That was Jake, pool, not Logan.
- 34:55I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna look it up because it's that's
- 34:59gonna annoy me. But, you know, basically my
- 35:05point being that he had time to reflect on it and I feel like
- 35:08that's when the realization came to like, okay, I fucked up time
- 35:12to move forward but like this interesting like when you when
- 35:15you hear it all the people around him, the people who meet
- 35:19him other YouTubers from the UK that of met him and spoken to
- 35:23him. Apparently it seems like a
- 35:24pretty down-to-earth bloke, like well-mannered good guy and a
- 35:28lock on it. Got lost.
- 35:30Five million when he got removed from Google preferred.
- 35:35In January. What's Google?
- 35:37Preferred. I think it's, I think it's sort
- 35:41of like an in a circle of YouTubers that get recommended
- 35:45the most and get sort of pushed out the most like, you know,
- 35:48your your, your YouTube icons, I guess it would be.
- 35:53So, like PewDiePie and all of those are the ones.
- 35:58There's so many things that Google do that.
- 36:00I've never heard of, like I heard of this thing the other
- 36:02day, I found on YouTube. It's like Talks by Google or
- 36:06Google Talks. So essentially basically TED
- 36:08Talks But Google's version and that's what the fuck never heard
- 36:11of this. And it had like millions of
- 36:13views and stuff, and it was on YouTube.
- 36:15So I subscribed because just like, it's just funny, how
- 36:19Google works that Google has all these different products that
- 36:22just no one ever hears about till the last minute, I'd say
- 36:25more like Google Plus. It was like, no one ever used it
- 36:30but everyone had an account. So so after he uploaded the
- 36:34suicide forest video that showed a dead body, it was a it was met
- 36:38with immediate. A backlash in YouTube suspended
- 36:41ads from his videos, okay. And in an interview with The
- 36:45Hollywood Reporter about mounting a potential come back,
- 36:48Paul said he lost an estimated five million dollars when
- 36:51YouTube removed him from Google's preferred partner
- 36:54program. In January.
- 36:57After he posted the video. When did that happen again?
- 37:00What year was that? That was 2018, 2019.
- 37:05Wow, was one at one or two years ago?
- 37:08But he said he said he is this point.
- 37:12He said, I mean, YouTube had to take a stance, they're not going
- 37:15to let some kid fuck up their ad platform.
- 37:18Yeah. So I assume that it's the the
- 37:25preferred partner program is the YouTubers who, you know, who are
- 37:31given the odds and who are putting this program to make the
- 37:35most money from Sort of YouTube. What do you reckon about your
- 37:44thoughts on, Logan? Pool fighting, Floyd Mayweather.
- 37:50I mean, no no, no, no, no. I mean, he very very barely lost
- 38:04to care sigh when he got his points removed so that means the
- 38:11he reckons he shouldn't have lost.
- 38:13Yeah, but well that's the thing. I mean Floyd Mayweather and stop
- 38:20stop. Well, this is money, though.
- 38:21I tweeted about this at the time, I was like, I doesn't
- 38:24matter what you think about Logan Paul.
- 38:26If he's landed this, this is huge.
- 38:28This is money, fair play to him. I mean, it's not all about, it's
- 38:33not always about the money with your fighting, Floyd Mayweather
- 38:36is if, if he messes that up, everybody's gonna be a high over
- 38:42here, are the guy who lost a Floyd Mayweather when he when
- 38:44you thought you could try and find him.
- 38:46Yeah, but okay, dude. Be with us be realistic.
- 38:51I don't know man. No one expects him to win.
- 38:55Even, he knows that he would not win.
- 38:57This is not about being Floyd Mayweather.
- 39:00This is about getting a fight with Floyd Mayweather and making
- 39:03bank. Yeah, I remember when Conor
- 39:05McGregor for Floyd Mayweather, everyone was saying the same
- 39:08thing that were like, if this was UFC, he'd kill Floyd
- 39:11Mayweather, but this is boxing. This is a different venue.
- 39:15Connor is restricted. Connor knew that Connor, it was
- 39:18about money. Obviously, he took it seriously
- 39:20and stuff and he tried hard and he did pretty well considering
- 39:23but it, come on. It was about money, that's all
- 39:26it was. Would you?
- 39:27If somebody, if somebody gave you a chance to put on gloves
- 39:30and get in a ring with Floyd Mayweather, would you do it?
- 39:32Yes. Well, I hope you enjoy drinking
- 39:36out of a straw for the next couple of weeks at the night,
- 39:40I'd have to think about it. If someone said, if someone
- 39:42asked me, how can I fuck it? Let's rephrase the question.
- 39:45If I offered you 50 million dollars, It's a fight.
- 39:49Floyd Mayweather? Would you dare?
- 39:54It's not like us. If you want nah man.
- 40:00No that's why. I mean someone asked me the same
- 40:03question about the question. If someone genuinely asked me
- 40:05that question in life, I would have to think about it for a
- 40:08little bit because someone asked me the same question about my
- 40:10Tyson and I was like because I get it that they could fuck you
- 40:13up. But like let's be honest, if
- 40:15they're going to be fighting you, at least you, at least you
- 40:17could pay for your hospital bills.
- 40:20I just don't think that they would go all in with it because
- 40:24they get easily going to beat you.
- 40:26Do you know me? So that go easy easier, not even
- 40:30officer easier, I think so. Yeah.
- 40:33But go and easier for them is just try not to kill the other
- 40:40person and if they're not dead then they're all right.
- 40:42It's an interesting question, isn't it?
- 40:43Because I think like what we're not considering like if we go
- 40:46back to Logan Paul for a second, Logan, Paul is actually a
- 40:48trained fighter. He trained do as an amateur, he
- 40:52was so confident about being care.
- 40:54Sorry but he trained as an amateur wrestler, that's the
- 40:57thing when he was younger. So he was a legitimate like
- 41:01athlete. Guess we're going into that
- 41:04fight. Yeah, and I still think, you
- 41:07know, I'm a massive case. I find everyone knows that, but
- 41:10I don't think that like, Logan got like whipped Janome, like it
- 41:14was aimed at a daycare. So I beat him on points and it
- 41:17was a very controversial fight. There was a lot of shit just in
- 41:21general. Do you know what I mean?
- 41:25Like, I feel like it's that sort of thing if they had a third
- 41:28fight, it could really go either way.
- 41:30Still obviously, because it's raw third.
- 41:34Maybe it's really hard to say. I mean, It's what it's one of
- 41:43those things. I think from everything I've
- 41:45heard about fighting in general, particularly in boxing, it comes
- 41:48down to fight day. It comes down to like, who is in
- 41:51the, his in the mindset generally, like I feel like,
- 41:54based on everything that both of those two guys said, what are
- 41:57you saying that? The Mind must be Master of the
- 42:01oh no. No.
- 42:02What I'm saying is that like, kind of does in the first fight
- 42:06care. So I basically said he
- 42:08underestimated It Logan and didn't train as hard.
- 42:11And he said, if he hadn't have underestimated in and had
- 42:15trained harder, he would have beat him.
- 42:17And in some ways, a kind of see what he means.
- 42:21I still do contend that like fight.
- 42:22They mentality is very important.
- 42:25I mean, obviously with the fight with with, with Joe, well, it
- 42:29was the same thing. Joe Weller just didn't show up
- 42:32mentally. And, you know, you often hear
- 42:35about that idea of like, the fight is won in the mind.
- 42:39Before it's actually one in the ring.
- 42:41Like I remember what's his name? Boxing champion.
- 42:45Tyson Fury said the same thing when he was fight fighting one
- 42:48of his major Rivals. He said that he was in a sauna
- 42:52with this guy and it was like a classic thing of like sitting in
- 42:57the sauna and waiting to see that who's going to leave first
- 43:01like, you know, classic just like man bullshit.
- 43:03Like who's the big man? Kind of crap but he won a
- 43:07concern who all do. That's the date.
- 43:08He kind of Not one that like battle if you like and that
- 43:11other guy left but he said, like, literally he was prepared
- 43:14to like faint like and not leave because he had to win that,
- 43:18like, mental battle and he said that that gave him the edge
- 43:20going into the fight. He kind of like knew that he was
- 43:23going to win because he's already got inside that guy's
- 43:25head. And I felt like a lot of the
- 43:27time when you're talking about boxing alone and maybe you have
- 43:30CI mixed martial arts fighting as well.
- 43:32It's often about that you know getting in your opponent's head
- 43:35like throwing them all those games stuff tis, but a scratch.
- 43:42I just get yellow, come on, you yellow, bringing it back to like
- 43:45Logan pool. Floyd Mayweather thing that I
- 43:47think it's a kind of a fascinating thing in terms of
- 43:50like if this is true, if this has actually happened, how have
- 43:55they strongest? Like how is this become a thing?
- 43:58Like, that's what I'm really fascinated to know because that
- 44:02says a lot for for Logan, Paul's team, the people like working
- 44:05behind them if they've managed to secure this, like how did
- 44:08they do that? because I'm not trying to like
- 44:10belittle Logan Paul, but I feel like this this is like Look at
- 44:17it from Floyd Mayweather's perspective, right?
- 44:19He's a retired boxer boxer, my who only occasionally comes out
- 44:24of retirement to, for Big Money, he's a money for.
- 44:26He's a Prizefighter. Basically, let's call him that
- 44:29he has. He was undefeated in his boxing
- 44:32career, ugly. Arguably one of the best of all
- 44:36time you know, right now it's all about money as most of you
- 44:40know that is what boxing is that it was fighting his about right?
- 44:43But he's Talking big money, you get in a fight with Floyd
- 44:46Mayweather, you're talking hundreds of, you know, tens of
- 44:50millions, I think pasta. I could got this wrong, but I
- 44:53think Conor McGregor got anywhere between 50 to 100 Mil
- 44:57for his loss for losing. He got that much money, so and
- 45:02God knows how much for Mayweather got.
- 45:04But base. The point being how much money
- 45:08could he legitimately make from a fight with Logan?
- 45:11Paul, like what is that going to draw as far as like?
- 45:14Pay-per-view is concerned or streaming cost or whatever.
- 45:18Like that's kind of what I'm thinking because if you take KSI
- 45:21versus Logan Paul it did very well for what it was.
- 45:24It got like mainstream attention, it was treated as a
- 45:28legitimate fight obvious it was a pro boxing fights just like
- 45:31was it's like it's a tear a YouTuber.
- 45:36Yes versus Retired boxing All-Star.
- 45:42Yeah, that in itself is a big name fight.
- 45:49What? Whoa, Jesus this guy this, this
- 45:52YouTuber is going to fight a professional boxer.
- 45:56Who's undefeated? Etc!
- 45:59That's, that's the way I look at it because I don't get me wrong.
- 46:01I like going into this fight. The watch this.
- 46:04Yeah, like I would obviously want Logan Paul to win, but I
- 46:07just know he Wouldn't a nice nothing against logos.
- 46:10Just I can't fathom. The idea.
- 46:13Came to me so much. It's not so much.
- 46:16I want to see Logan, beat Floyd it because that's not going to
- 46:21happen. It's more or less.
- 46:22I want to see how little Floyd beats Logan.
- 46:27So how do I just feel like this is a win for you too long?
- 46:31Can it? This is not an inventor himself.
- 46:33I think the bigger thing here is this is a win for YouTube.
- 46:35This is a win for YouTubers. You know me like him getting
- 46:39this. Fight it presents.
- 46:42So many opportunities to YouTubers, moving forward about
- 46:46mainstream opportunities, mixing with mainstream outlets in some
- 46:50capacity. I mean the same things were
- 46:51being said, when the ksr A Logan Paul to fire happened that, you
- 46:55know, this is opened up that door.
- 46:58I mean, you know, it's the same with with rappers YouTube
- 47:01rappers. They're beginning to be taken
- 47:03seriously as artists now and their music is being featured in
- 47:07You know, at least in the UK, it's been featured in the UK
- 47:10charts. I think it's the same in America
- 47:12as well, but the point being that YouTube is being taken more
- 47:15seriously. As as a medium, I suppose you
- 47:20could say, as a profession, whatever you want to call it,
- 47:23right? And for that reason, there are
- 47:25more opportunities now out there for YouTubers.
- 47:28And so things like this, this fight are now becoming a
- 47:34potential thing. It's becoming something that can
- 47:37that can Happen can be, I'm putting this very badly word
- 47:41wise but you know what I'm trying to say, right?
- 47:43It's time. Take your time, you know,
- 47:46YouTube you but you Burrs are getting more exposure.
- 47:49Now being taken more seriously, Anybody can do YouTube.
- 47:55It's just, it's just how you do it.
- 47:58Anyone could do YouTube but not everyone can do YouTube.
- 48:00Well, yeah. So so like kids who YouTube chat
- 48:05is just got given an iPad. This is this is another thing
- 48:08element as as well like, you're right, anyone can make videos
- 48:12and put them on the Internet. Put them on YouTube and be
- 48:14claimed to be a YouTuber. But YouTube is about
- 48:19Consistently Reinventing yourself, you know, following
- 48:23the game, this is why for instance, are I accept that I'm
- 48:26probably won't become like, super successful anytime soon.
- 48:29Maybe I never will and, you know, I feel a bit like dodgy
- 48:32about that, but the same time it's because I don't play the
- 48:35game by the rules, like I do it, you know, my own way because I
- 48:38enjoy making content in my own Manner and I do try things from
- 48:42time to time, but I'm not interested in kind of doing what
- 48:45everyone else has done. Play the game.
- 48:48I just I'm not It person doing it that way.
- 48:51Right for me it goes beyond YouTube as well.
- 48:54YouTube is not my only goal in life, it's just one of them.
- 48:58So that's one of the reasons why but piece of advice, my dad gave
- 49:01me that. I'm actually going to listen to
- 49:03and standby is You have 400 500 subscribers.
- 49:11Well, I've got 460 461 something like that, okay?
- 49:20So you have four hundred and sixty subscribers but you're not
- 49:25like Here with. Yeah I mean if you're here, I'm
- 49:35here. So how many do you have now?
- 49:37You must have. You must be doing 129 yeah see
- 49:40that's growing pretty quickly. When did you do your first Vlog
- 49:42wasn't that long ago, do a little quick chickity-check.
- 49:47So my point being is that you're not you don't own money from
- 49:52YouTube, so our data. So it's not like A job for you.
- 49:59So now if I take it seriously, like I want it to become a
- 50:02living for me, you know, I don't understand my first video was
- 50:05five months ago, that's very good for five months.
- 50:08So that's 100 subscribers and five months, I treat it.
- 50:11I would. I treat it as though.
- 50:12I will making money from it because I feel like that's the
- 50:15only way you can treat anything that you want to do for a living
- 50:18that you want to be successful, you have to put the same amount
- 50:21of time and effort into it regardless of whether or not
- 50:24it's making you money. Well, what I mean is it's not
- 50:30your job. You don't earn a substantial
- 50:33living off it, so you should consider it for now.
- 50:38I'm not saying this will never change but you should consider
- 50:40it for. Now as a hobby you should enjoy
- 50:43making videos and said I get that.
- 50:46Yeah. I so I can't bring myself to
- 50:48consider it as a hobby that because for me a hobby is like
- 50:52going and playing basketball. Yeah, I want to get I want to
- 50:55get better at basketball. But I don't consider that like,
- 50:58you know, if I don't get any better at basketball it's not
- 51:00going to break my heart. Whereas but YouTube it with your
- 51:05if you're if you're making videos and edit videos and
- 51:09publish your videos in your enjoying doing it, great.
- 51:13Perfect. No, I agree with that.
- 51:15I've said the same sentiments in recent videos that my attitude
- 51:19has changed. But, you know, with that being
- 51:22said, you do want to grow like, occasionally you will hear me
- 51:25complain, because Because you know, the Saab sort of you
- 51:30stagnate, you know, they sit there.
- 51:31Like I think I've been on 400 subscribers now for like many,
- 51:37many months at this point, but, you know, everyone is different.
- 51:41Everyone involves in different time scales or whatever, like
- 51:47yeah, it's funny. I have some supporters people
- 51:50that have been on the show. Before that have said like, oh
- 51:52you should have way more support.
- 51:53Many more subscribers and it's That's just not how it works.
- 51:58I'm afraid I can't just get them.
- 52:01No, no, I know, I know, it's just interesting to hear that
- 52:04because to me, I have very mixed feelings about what I do.
- 52:07Like, when I put stuff out there, obviously, I'm proud of
- 52:10him. Happy with what I produce, but
- 52:13sometimes I wonder like, is this good enough is?
- 52:15Yeah, me too, it sucks. Is that the reason?
- 52:18Am I holding myself back? I don't know, I just, but it
- 52:22sort of I go through a couple of stages.
- 52:24For example, last night, I noticed, I lost To subscribers,
- 52:28which I then got back today. I'm not, yeah, I wouldn't trust
- 52:32that too much mate because mine goes up and I don't, but all the
- 52:35blood is like it went, it went from 129 to 127 mmm.
- 52:42And I was like, ah, I've lost two subscribers.
- 52:46Yeah. Well and then I was thinking
- 52:48about letter on on, so but why what was it I'm going to say?
- 52:53What? Childish Jack always says to me.
- 52:56Is if they unsubscribe to you, then they were never watching in
- 53:02the first place. So, that's number one.
- 53:04Number two, this happens all the time, big fans.
- 53:08Yeah. But this happens all the time,
- 53:09but don't forget that people don't just subscribe
- 53:13willy-nilly, you know, I mean like you can regularly watch
- 53:16videos and not subscribe to the channel like, I think on mine,
- 53:19it's like 80% of the viewers are unsubscribed, right?
- 53:23Yeah, I have 60 that, right? so there's that and there's also
- 53:28the fact that like you know, if people are subscribed to you
- 53:33Think about what that means, it means they want to follow you.
- 53:36It means they want to be part of your community.
- 53:38It's like they want to regularly see you.
- 53:40They you know they like you as a person and I think that like
- 53:44it's a big thing you know and if people unsubscribe to me it's
- 53:48like okay fine you know like I don't take it badly anymore.
- 53:51I know that feeling I know fun. See you later.
- 53:54Yeah, but like you can't take it seriously.
- 53:56I mean, there's going to be a day when you're going to have
- 53:59like you know, potentially tens of thousands or millions of
- 54:02subscribers and you Lose a couple hundred in a day.
- 54:05It's like part of YouTube in that sense, but as long as you
- 54:08have like that core audience of people that are there.
- 54:11Now for me, the confusing thing about my subscriber count is not
- 54:15like I don't even really particularly care about how many
- 54:17there are more concerned with the fact that there are like 460
- 54:22right, but then average viewer count on my videos is like, I
- 54:26don't know, ranging between 20 to 40 views, right, average ish,
- 54:32right? Sometimes video is get nothing
- 54:36and that to me is the more confusing part it's like, okay,
- 54:38I've got this audience but I like where are they?
- 54:41Where they are? Yeah, what they doing?
- 54:43What? Why they're not watching?
- 54:44And it's kind of like it's like you have your phones and 60
- 54:47subscribers but one video get gets 60 views.
- 54:53Where's the other four hundred? Yeah and this is this is why I
- 54:56pay attention more to comments now then anything else.
- 55:00Like I look I look forward to If I receive comments, I made sure
- 55:05to reply to them as much as possible.
- 55:07I try to also, there was, there was something that's been
- 55:10statistically proven going hardening comments, is most
- 55:14likely to attract because like, how someone's using that Gmail
- 55:20account on their YouTube, which the probably are, if they have
- 55:25like, the Gmail app on their phone, if you heart my common, I
- 55:31am most likely Likely to come back because I've seen it.
- 55:35I don't know why it said 70% of creators that hard comments, get
- 55:41those people back to either leave another comment or watch
- 55:45another video or something like that.
- 55:46Where you getting that stat from 75%?
- 55:50I will die. Will I would tell you?
- 55:55It will be somewhere. I will find where I got it from.
- 56:01Because yeah, YouTube create a whole tutorial.
- 56:06Oh, it's actually from YouTube itself, okay?
- 56:10The other thing I've ever watched any of those, those
- 56:12YouTuber Creator videos. I'm not I'm not sure what exact
- 56:21website it was from, but I was watching like better like small
- 56:26tips. Yeah, to do better like you to
- 56:29branding and things like that. And Holden comments.
- 56:35I think I've talked about this before.
- 56:36I'm not sure, but heart and comments, and using YouTube
- 56:40branding. So, if you watch one of my
- 56:42videos, You'll see in the bottom, right.
- 56:43It says little subscribe button. And if you tap on that on your
- 56:47phone or hover over it on your ear, it'll II did that recently.
- 56:52I think all your suggestion. Honestly, I know what you talked
- 56:56about this before, but it's just small things like that, that
- 57:02people are like, this is Well put together, I want to see more
- 57:05of this. Hmm.
- 57:06And if the Subscribe describe the, I think for me I'm not even
- 57:12only attached to YouTube, like I'm kind of just looking to
- 57:15build a following in general because like for instance, I
- 57:17want to go back to streaming at some point and doing that again
- 57:21because I enjoyed it, but that you need a foot legitimate
- 57:25following to do is eventually if you put it in like the IRL
- 57:29section, you might get one or two viewers but what you really
- 57:33Really need is like friends and actual following to come in and
- 57:38yeah, that's what I'm more interested in having actually
- 57:40even on YouTube. Like, I don't even realize I am
- 57:43waiting. Yeah, I'm waiting to, I really
- 57:46want to have that, that Community like that, building,
- 57:49that Community, anywhere. Any platform, Facebook, YouTube,
- 57:52Instagram, whatever. Like I like this idea of having
- 57:55a community, I think that that is something to grow and build
- 57:59it. And like, that's where people
- 58:01build, you know, potentially bigger.
- 58:03It's from its from those small communities.
- 58:06And, you know, obviously I have big goals for things like
- 58:08YouTube and stuff but like it's not my only thing that I want to
- 58:11do. Obviously I want to do music
- 58:12acting all sorts of things, right that I'm working on, but I
- 58:17feel like building a community in general is, you know, it
- 58:22takes time and I don't know it for me in my channel.
- 58:27I've been doing it properly now since sort of beginning of last
- 58:34year, and It's still, I would say still in the beginning
- 58:39stages. I you know, I mean despite
- 58:42everything but I've done loads of stuff especially in lockdown
- 58:46but has it was the little the after that little act and sketch
- 58:51that we did, ya ever swept under the rug?
- 58:55No I will die will work on that at some point.
- 58:57I just have so many things that I'm doing right now.
- 59:00Like so many things it's like to do.
- 59:05I have a to do list. These things to do and I will do
- 59:09it. It's just that.
- 59:10That sketch might get done months from now, potentially?
- 59:13Yeah, it will get done. Those of you who don't know what
- 59:16we're talking about. Me and Christian had the idea
- 59:20shortly after lockdown, properly begun.
- 59:25We decided we wanted to do an acting sketch together, and
- 59:28since we don't live anywhere near each other and we didn't
- 59:32even before I moved to the Netherlands, We decided to do a
- 59:37clever sort of sketch in a place that looked similar.
- 59:41So we could sort of just push it backwards and forwards, so it
- 59:44would work. Yeah.
- 59:46But I fell ill. Christian sent me the clips and
- 59:51like three months later or two or three months later when I was
- 59:56well and I moved and I was nests and we're like, don't look
- 1:00:00similar. Yeah.
- 1:00:01And I did it. And then I said, it's a
- 1:00:03Christian and he was like But the pro, what is it?
- 1:00:08Let me let me clear up. You settle into me and the order
- 1:00:11was for Google Drive, Google Drive decided it wanted to
- 1:00:14upload the smaller Clips first so that might have been the
- 1:00:18fourth clip. Then the second clip, then the
- 1:00:20third clip, then the first clip so here as no idea and now I
- 1:00:25don't because it's more than two days ago.
- 1:00:27So I forgot. Hmm.
- 1:00:29That's why. So it's got a name this the the
- 1:00:33sketch is going to be called The Chase dun dun du littler than it
- 1:00:38will get done. But it's just like I said, I've
- 1:00:40got literally a massive to do list of things.
- 1:00:43I need to do, not just on YouTube on Facebook.
- 1:00:47On other platforms upcoming podcast ideas, a bunch of stuff
- 1:00:52plus also freelancing stuff for marketing.
- 1:00:54I have to do. So I'm actually very very busy
- 1:00:57right now, which is a great position to be in.
- 1:01:01I'm not complaining by the way, I'd much rather be busy then.
- 1:01:05Light not busy but it will get done.
- 1:01:08I'm not that type of person. I will write everything down and
- 1:01:11slowly, go through all of the things I hit, I'll read you some
- 1:01:14of the things I got to do, right?
- 1:01:16So I have to upload My Story Time series to Facebook.
- 1:01:20That's one thing I've got to do. Any remaining videos that I
- 1:01:23feel, should go onto Facebook, the on otherwise on there.
- 1:01:28So it just takes time uploading on there and building that up,
- 1:01:32right? But I'm essentially treating it
- 1:01:34as like Like another platform to have YouTube stuff, but I'm only
- 1:01:38putting like special videos on there.
- 1:01:41So, like music podcast the Vlog series I felt like Story Time
- 1:01:47deserves to be on there as well. But like rap, like the what will
- 1:01:50make YouTube exclusive is that I won't do?
- 1:01:53Like random Vlogs, random Vlogs that I do on the second Channel
- 1:01:57or random videos on the main Channel.
- 1:02:00Won't go on my Facebook. So there's like some exclusivity
- 1:02:03there. When I do, you know, little mini
- 1:02:07covers on Instagram that stays on Instagram and there is a
- 1:02:12little bit of crossover with Facebook as well, but none of
- 1:02:15that goes on YouTube. So likable.
- 1:02:20Sometimes more like I do like little short things on Instagram
- 1:02:24and then full covers. Now, I'm doing on YouTube, I've
- 1:02:27started doing so. So yeah, I remember I used to do
- 1:02:31some videos with This my God, this this kid's name on YouTube
- 1:02:37was been boy. All right, that sounds about
- 1:02:42right for Newcastle, to be honest.
- 1:02:43Then following up just on the side note.
- 1:02:48I remember when I was at school, there was this, like, I started
- 1:02:53if you call it a trend or craze, this was like the mid-2000s,
- 1:02:56right? But, basically, all of the chaff
- 1:02:59kids had not necessarily chavs, but like some of them which have
- 1:03:03some of them were just chavvy, but not necessarily actual jobs,
- 1:03:08but they had like nicknames, right?
- 1:03:10And I'm not going to take the piss too much because in our
- 1:03:12alternative crowd, we had nicknames as well.
- 1:03:15We had this trend called seen kids, right?
- 1:03:20And everyone had like these weird name.
- 1:03:22Looks like mine was Christian chaos.
- 1:03:27So, like you'd have like, a, what?
- 1:03:29There's this website called Myspace and you would have,
- 1:03:31which is still around amazing, but no one uses it.
- 1:03:35Anyway, you'd have liked your names on their flashy profile or
- 1:03:39whatever and you would meet in your respective towns and I
- 1:03:43don't like nobody in for something kinda.
- 1:03:46I don't even difficult to expect.
- 1:03:48I've done a video on it, if you look at my space and seeing kids
- 1:03:51on my channel and then When I talk about it for like 40
- 1:03:54minutes straight so just go check that out and you'll learn
- 1:03:56about it but you're no. Not yet.
- 1:03:59Listen listen to the rest of this first, don't don't.
- 1:04:02So I took him up to yeah really specifically like but yeah Chris
- 1:04:09but like So, we did as well. But the check the traps did it,
- 1:04:14but they had not very confusing names.
- 1:04:16So, like, it'd be like link or not like cooler, the video game
- 1:04:21character but like, cool, like I don't know, link.
- 1:04:25What was our names that they have phase fade?
- 1:04:31It related to the tags that they would do because they would do
- 1:04:34like graffiti tags as well. I remember that they would have
- 1:04:36like the graffiti pens or actual spray cans and they would like
- 1:04:40tag their name It was like that shitty graffiti where it's not
- 1:04:43even pretty. It's just like a scribble and
- 1:04:46like if they had like a maths book lead scribble their fucking
- 1:04:49name all over that and shit but I remember there was this one
- 1:04:52kid. I won't say his name because
- 1:04:54he's an actual sweetheart and he was a sweetheart school if you
- 1:04:58are watching. Yeah but what he called himself
- 1:05:04bins, bi and Zeb bins bins and to this day.
- 1:05:11I still don't understand his choice.
- 1:05:13Well, I mean if he, if he recycles then that's a good at
- 1:05:16least. I don't think he chose the name
- 1:05:19for recycling purposes. Well, I mean, if the environment
- 1:05:28environment and what you what mate, you bloody tree Agha, It
- 1:05:39sounds Australian a trailer. Probably, my getaway combines
- 1:05:46not. Anyway, so there was this kid
- 1:05:47called been boy and what are used to do was used to take time
- 1:05:52curse. You caii me good for just
- 1:05:54laughing. Ding boy.
- 1:05:57What's your name been boy? Now this is real name was Alfie.
- 1:06:05And I'll feed up in boy. The problem was is when I when I
- 1:06:11looked him up on YouTube and I typed have been boy.
- 1:06:13I would get a different channel that was dedicated to this
- 1:06:17person who like I guess flogged his life as a binman cool.
- 1:06:22That's kind of interesting. Weirdly enough.
- 1:06:25You actually contrary to popular belief been man isn't actually
- 1:06:28good job. They get good pay.
- 1:06:29Yeah they get decent money like and they get their get quite
- 1:06:34well protected as well. They get given specialist
- 1:06:36equipment, gloves and stuff load.
- 1:06:38Loads of people don't like the idea of like empty and bends
- 1:06:42into the back of a truck but that's nothing for them all
- 1:06:45those. Yeah.
- 1:06:47As far as like, how much money they get paid.
- 1:06:49And how could she do? Their job is a lot of the time.
- 1:06:51No, I'm being serious. I'm being seriously.
- 1:06:54No, actually. Yeah, what's wrong?
- 1:06:56What I grew up in England's only 499 is boy.
- 1:07:00Yeah, it's like it, I'll take it anyway.
- 1:07:08Going up, I knew people that were bimbo and they would talk
- 1:07:12about their jobs and it's kind of amazing, like yeah, that the
- 1:07:17money thing is a big part of it. They get paid way more than
- 1:07:19you'd think. And also their hours they get up
- 1:07:24really early in the morning, but you typically like maybe like
- 1:07:2845. I I see them, I see them around
- 1:07:30when I was walking to school. It was.
- 1:07:31And that's the thing. They'll do it in past 11:00 or
- 1:07:33something. Yeah, they do a particular Brew
- 1:07:34in the morning for a couple of hours and then that's it.
- 1:07:38The rest of the day off and this is the thing about being men as
- 1:07:41well. So when they take all the stuff
- 1:07:43to let skip yards and stuff, they often Salvage equipment,
- 1:07:49you know, like just stuff that people throw away that is
- 1:07:53actually fine that people throw away a lot of stuff that is not
- 1:07:56actually broken or damaged in any way.
- 1:07:59They just got a new one to the, throughout the old one.
- 1:08:01Yeah. Like people a lot of the time
- 1:08:03they'll throw shit away because they don't want to have to pay
- 1:08:05like the council to remove it. This is really cheeky.
- 1:08:08This is People taking the piss but you know like what your
- 1:08:11Alternatives like you have it on your front, lawn just sitting
- 1:08:15there and like yeah but I mean even then the Rag and Bone man,
- 1:08:19come and take it away. So yeah, but I just I understand
- 1:08:23it again it. But I basically these are the
- 1:08:25perks of being a binman. I think my, my uncle was a
- 1:08:29binman, at one point. I don't know if he still is, you
- 1:08:32might possibly be. I can't remember.
- 1:08:35Sorry. But yeah, I'd well, you know, I
- 1:08:38can't remember this. It lets go because I got enough
- 1:08:40shit going on in my own life. I can't remember everyone else's
- 1:08:42lives, but no big bro, let's let's let's hope.
- 1:08:45He doesn't figure out how to use YouTube.
- 1:08:47You know, I do remember him talking about his job at one
- 1:08:49point and he told me about some of this stuff and he would bring
- 1:08:52back stuff occasionally. And it was, it was good shit.
- 1:08:54And my stepdad was briefly involved in something similar at
- 1:08:57one point. Not, he wasn't a binman.
- 1:09:00I think he just was involved with some sort of an job at one
- 1:09:03point. So he would occasionally bring
- 1:09:05things back and he was pretty nifty at fixing things.
- 1:09:07So he would you know if it Has broken a little bit.
- 1:09:09He would if it was was your daughter Dragonborn man?
- 1:09:11Then you know, like they so rock and roll man.
- 1:09:14Well said like for example we got a new washing machine.
- 1:09:19So my stepdad, put the old one out the front and these people
- 1:09:26drove up in a white van, they open the van.
- 1:09:29They took the washer machine, chucked it inside, and drove
- 1:09:31off. It's fine.
- 1:09:33We don't need it because it's old, but I guess they just sort
- 1:09:36of either Salvage, old stuff and then fix it or they just sort of
- 1:09:43Remove that they're sort of like you can Palo Verde the
- 1:09:47government. You can pay the government or
- 1:09:49the council to come and remove your old items.
- 1:09:52That's kind of I was talking about before in call
- 1:09:54american-born man who can do it like free because they want it.
- 1:09:59Oh no. I haven't heard about that.
- 1:10:01That's interested again, I'm going to look up this term.
- 1:10:04A good Dragon. My dad wasn't my dad is a barber
- 1:10:09by trade. My stepdad has just been
- 1:10:11involved with the right or range of different things, but at one
- 1:10:15point, he had some sort of a job.
- 1:10:17He wasn't a binman or Rag and Bone man.
- 1:10:20Where the fuck guys and rag rag picker or Rachmaninoff Holtzman
- 1:10:24are drunk woman or junk dealer. Hmm born grubber, born picker
- 1:10:28ride gatherer. Board tacos.
- 1:10:32This is sound like dodgy light names.
- 1:10:35Like, if you're going to like it, like all stops like Old
- 1:10:37English rhymes like sharp, you rag buncha.
- 1:10:40That's boy. Bugger off your toddler, okay?
- 1:10:49And the 19th century rag-and-bone man, typically
- 1:10:51lives in extreme poverty. Surviving on the proceeds of
- 1:10:53what they collected. Each day, conditions improved
- 1:10:56following the second world war, but the trade Lines during the
- 1:10:59latter half of the 20th century. However, in more recent years,
- 1:11:02partly, as the result of the soaring price of scrap, metal
- 1:11:05Rag and Bone, man. May once again, be seen at work
- 1:11:08in the many third world as well as First World countries.
- 1:11:13So I guess they come along in Vans or something like that.
- 1:11:18They'll take old scrap metal or like washing machines or all
- 1:11:23dishwashers are things like that.
- 1:11:25They'll put the in, they'll take them and scavenge them.
- 1:11:29I've heard of people doing this where they Scout, they scavenge
- 1:11:34for metals and sell the metals, I get the metals crushed and
- 1:11:37stuff, and it's that you can actually make quite a lot of
- 1:11:38money from doing that, you know. Yeah.
- 1:11:42But this this this old Volkswagen combo just drove into
- 1:11:45the street. Parked on our driveway Chuck,
- 1:11:48the washing machine in the back of the van and just scared it
- 1:11:52off. Hmm.
- 1:11:54I was like Mom I think someone's just stole our old washing
- 1:11:58machine. Yeah.
- 1:11:58Yes honey, it'll be the Rag and Bone, man.
- 1:12:00I went it's very like, how many? How many of those types of like
- 1:12:04similar types of jobs where it's like physical labor or something
- 1:12:07that where people earn so much money.
- 1:12:10Like I only recently learned in the last couple of years that if
- 1:12:13you work in like construction or a scaffolding, all I wanted.
- 1:12:17My uncle's Works in scaffolding. I think he's either training to
- 1:12:20be a scaffolder or he like, I can't remember exactly.
- 1:12:24But he's worked on you put. So we put scaffold, scaffolding
- 1:12:28on the side of buildings. Why does more I think?
- 1:12:33Now, it's more than that, it's built.
- 1:12:34He's at he actually works on projects that build so it sort
- 1:12:37of does both as well. Yeah, I don't know the ins and
- 1:12:40outs of it, but I know that a it's very expensive and takes a
- 1:12:43long time to become a scaffolder be.
- 1:12:45If you do become a scaffolder, it basically, like triple your
- 1:12:48income and see just working in construction or scaffolding or
- 1:12:53any of those types of jobs. They earn, like, ridiculous
- 1:12:56money, like thousands in a week. So it Architect.
- 1:13:01Well, that's even more. That's like they earn insane
- 1:13:04amount of money down. Yeah, because that doesn't speak
- 1:13:07about this. Don't do that by the government.
- 1:13:10You're working on construction that you're building a house and
- 1:13:12you're riding like thousands a week, think about that.
- 1:13:15That's my in sin and said that's math, like they're there and
- 1:13:19like your hours will be nothing. Like, yeah, you'll have days
- 1:13:22where you work your ass off those crazy but you have days
- 1:13:24where you work, probably like, four hours as well, nothing get
- 1:13:28the rest of the day off. It is, but the thing is,
- 1:13:32sometimes you make your own hours.
- 1:13:35Yeah, they are. If I stay here for an extra
- 1:13:37couple of hours, then I can sort of take a couple of hours off
- 1:13:40tomorrow. Yeah.
- 1:13:41That, I mean that's the benefits of as long as long as you have
- 1:13:43it built by the deadline, which is probably five six years from
- 1:13:46now. If you should be all right.
- 1:13:49And then you get paid for your hours and then you might get a
- 1:13:51little bit of a bonus when you finished.
- 1:13:53Yeah. My uncle was telling me about
- 1:13:55this, how it works that contract by contract and obviously, the
- 1:13:59longer, the contract, the better.
- 1:14:00Like you get billed for a certain contract time and it can
- 1:14:05range anywhere from six months to.
- 1:14:07Yeah, three years. And that's how you live your
- 1:14:11life. Go by contract to contract but
- 1:14:12the contracts pay, very, very well and there's like a certain
- 1:14:15amount of security. Like the longer the contract
- 1:14:17goes, I remember when I was at Uni, there was a massive
- 1:14:20projects, believe for the building of the library, the new
- 1:14:25library that was at my uni, it was kind of shitty because it
- 1:14:29started in the second. Year and it was just a big
- 1:14:32massive monstrosity in the middle of the campus was ugly as
- 1:14:35fuck. And it got finished as we
- 1:14:38graduated like typical but we don't want books and I want
- 1:14:43them. Now it is fine.
- 1:14:45Like if anything, I preferred the old Lee library that we had
- 1:14:48to the new one, wasn't a big thing that I don't get that.
- 1:14:50It's like, there's a new Leisure Centre in my hometown.
- 1:14:54Yeah, it's nectar. It's actually this, like, like
- 1:14:58in the center of washing the town that It lived in there was
- 1:15:03a large shopping center called the galleries.
- 1:15:05Hmm, you might have heard of it because princess and opened it.
- 1:15:10Princess and, you know, cut the cut the ribbon and there's a
- 1:15:14park next to it called Princess and park.
- 1:15:16So, but they used to be a Leisure Centre attached to him,
- 1:15:21which they demolished. They built a large bridge to the
- 1:15:26sort of the west of the ouster, and they built a new Leisure
- 1:15:32Centre. It's, it's like Everyone Active.
- 1:15:36I think it was Everyone up to Fitness, but don't get me wrong,
- 1:15:41it looks nice, but I saw a photo on Facebook of the old one and
- 1:15:45it was just nostalgic because to get from because I walk home
- 1:15:50from the galleries through princess and park.
- 1:15:52So, if I was at Asda and I wanted to go home, you'd have to
- 1:15:56go through this sort of small indoor area, which leads to the
- 1:16:00swimming pool of the old left Center.
- 1:16:04And I think there was a doctor's on the other side.
- 1:16:06I'm the to show or a dentist. It's replaced for the dentist.
- 1:16:13I'm not sure what I'll get a feeling after I go.
- 1:16:15Go for a swim great. I'm going to get a feeling and
- 1:16:18go for a swim boss. Oh no, I lost my feeling in the
- 1:16:21swimming pool. Shit, bugger it.
- 1:16:23What you just go back, free elf care Watcher.
- 1:16:30Yeah, yeah, but you could sort of see into the swimming pool
- 1:16:37from Where you were, so you can walk past and you can sort of
- 1:16:41see everybody swimming and having a good time.
- 1:16:42And then you got all the other side.
- 1:16:44He went down the stairs and you went through the park but just
- 1:16:48don't fix. What isn't broken?
- 1:16:50Yeah, I know what you mean. I think it does depend.
- 1:16:53I mean, I know the Bushman is fine but to completely demolish
- 1:16:57one thing and build another. Like, the thing that I didn't
- 1:17:01understand my uni right was because they didn't actually
- 1:17:04demolish anything. They demolished a few buildings
- 1:17:06but it was like nothing. In politically special, the only
- 1:17:10thing that was there was special was that the original architect?
- 1:17:14Because there's a building called the founders building.
- 1:17:16My, so, my University was Royal Holloway University and it was
- 1:17:23built in like the 1800s, late 1800s, and it's a very
- 1:17:28impressive buildings, incredible that sits in the heart of the
- 1:17:31campus and then everything is built around it.
- 1:17:33So it's like, it's got that rich Heritage and then there's all
- 1:17:35these new buildings and blah blah blah.
- 1:17:37All right. Right?
- 1:17:38And it's a nice campus. Nice uni.
- 1:17:39I liked it, but like this new University.
- 1:17:43Sorry, new library is directly across from the old building.
- 1:17:46So you've got this really beautiful 18th century building
- 1:17:49and then you've got this new kind of monstrosity in it.
- 1:17:52It's okay. You know, it is what it is.
- 1:17:56I think they did a decent job of like the forecourt that's there
- 1:18:00between the two buildings and I guess there's kind of a old
- 1:18:03meets new Vibe kind of thing, right?
- 1:18:06But they did knock. One building.
- 1:18:08That was the, I believe the original house that the
- 1:18:14architect of the original building lived in.
- 1:18:18So they kind of destroyed a bit of history, but I guess it's not
- 1:18:20like the end of the world but still would have been nice to
- 1:18:23accept that I suppose, but the new library as it stands is
- 1:18:28okay. But this is the thing I wanted
- 1:18:30to bring up is that the building that they use, they had as the
- 1:18:35library that we use the whole time.
- 1:18:38Which is in a different part of the campus, they closed down
- 1:18:41after we after we left and nothing was really said about
- 1:18:46what they would do with it. But they basically said that
- 1:18:48they were going to close that library and they were also going
- 1:18:50to close the library that was in the founders building which was
- 1:18:57kind of an alluring thing. Like parts of Harry Potter have
- 1:19:01been filmed in that unit in that Founders building.
- 1:19:05Very briefly there was a scene from The Avengers that was Many
- 1:19:08films TV series have been featured there and stuff, right?
- 1:19:11And if you actually go into that building, I mean there's like a
- 1:19:13beautiful Chapel there's like it's obviously a very old
- 1:19:16building. So it's very nice to be in in
- 1:19:18certain places and stuff and obviously like studying in the
- 1:19:21library was a nice experience. Like I did it myself, it was it
- 1:19:24was really nice. So when I found out that that
- 1:19:27was being closed and going to be turned into like probably like
- 1:19:30staff quarters or something, I was like that sucks because
- 1:19:33that's one of the laws of like attracting people to actually go
- 1:19:36to. That uni is like like, you know,
- 1:19:38you get to not just studying the new facilities but the old
- 1:19:41facilities you experience a bit of History potentially live in
- 1:19:44this building because you can live in that building for a year
- 1:19:47and the holes, right? And I got to live there, too.
- 1:19:49It's actually very nice because it, was it that.
- 1:19:53Well, the room is very nice and rustic and sort of vintage nice.
- 1:19:58They were redone with a like, horrible kind of 60s Vibe, but,
- 1:20:03you know, they still the history there.
- 1:20:05You can just as well. You know it is what it is.
- 1:20:09It's not it like there was nice. Parts of it, not so nice parts
- 1:20:12of it but mostly it was a nice experience and they've done
- 1:20:17fairly well to keep it, you know, maintained and stuff.
- 1:20:20And the history is there in certain parts of that building.
- 1:20:23It's really lovely. And I imagine it can will
- 1:20:27continue to be a mean. It's one of the biggest draws of
- 1:20:29that particular University. I feel like if you didn't have
- 1:20:32that building now, maybe it wouldn't be as good a uni.
- 1:20:36I don't know, but that's all. For debate.
- 1:20:38But yeah. Anyway, back to that building.
- 1:20:40So this this old library plus the newer library that they had
- 1:20:46that they closed down, I just didn't understand it.
- 1:20:48I was like, why closed down facilities?
- 1:20:51Because I had a friend who did a master's a year after I left
- 1:20:55like continued and stayed there for a year or so.
- 1:20:58And when I asked him, I always this new.
- 1:21:00You Library Banerjee. Have more space.
- 1:21:02He was like, no, like, if anything, there's like less
- 1:21:05space and I thought what the fuck like you think?
- 1:21:07Want to create more study spaces for people.
- 1:21:10Not your roof study spaces. Yeah, this building was like
- 1:21:13four or five stories, it was one underground level four stories
- 1:21:17different purposes, different study rooms all this stuff
- 1:21:20because actually good as far as facilities concerned.
- 1:21:24But, yeah, just they I just didn't understand why they close
- 1:21:28those other buildings and are perfectly serviceable, you know,
- 1:21:33useful 24-hour card access, all this useful, when you're at Uni
- 1:21:37this stuff. Is useful, you know, you need
- 1:21:39study spaces and you'll often Auto, you know, alternate
- 1:21:43between the spaces depending on how you feel.
- 1:21:46And you know what you need to do, like what facilities you
- 1:21:49need and then some and so forth, so yeah, I don't know.
- 1:21:54I don't get it. I guess it's all just kind of
- 1:21:55about pushing up the numbers and stuff.
- 1:21:58And, but it the thing about uni is that there's this big
- 1:22:02difference between the overall ranking, that your uni gets and
- 1:22:05then the That it gets per subject.
- 1:22:10So for example, my course, was management with marketing.
- 1:22:13And originally like when I was at Uni, our course was like in
- 1:22:19the top ten for marketing and maybe like top 20 for management
- 1:22:24in the country are as like last time I checked it was like 30 or
- 1:22:2740 year for marketing and like I don't even know where for
- 1:22:30management and the overall rankings but they change all the
- 1:22:33time and they're like subjective as well so that you check one
- 1:22:36newspaper. I will say one thing check
- 1:22:39another website or say something different.
- 1:22:41I think your best bet is to kind of just look at the rankings for
- 1:22:47for your course specifically and then definitely make use of the
- 1:22:51open days. Definitely go.
- 1:22:53Visit check out your department. Don't worry so much about
- 1:22:56everything else that's going on. Just focus on your department
- 1:22:59and what they're offering because this is free years of
- 1:23:01your life. So it's very important that you
- 1:23:05want to be there for three years and they've actually got The
- 1:23:08facilities you need and you know, good, good resources.
- 1:23:13You know, that's the thing for me is there is one school
- 1:23:19involved and it is not anything. It's a it's a young kid school.
- 1:23:28Okay. So if I want to go to university
- 1:23:33or college, it will most likely be in one of the biggest cities
- 1:23:37that I like half an hour 20 minutes away so I'll have to
- 1:23:40drive there and I have to make sure that the root is not Like
- 1:23:46annoying. Hmm.
- 1:23:49So I'll have to test drive the road.
- 1:23:53So like, is that loads of traffic on the morning?
- 1:23:56When I need to go? Do I need to leave earlier?
- 1:23:59Do I need to maybe try and find a different route.
- 1:24:02Things like that, is there a gas station on the way there and
- 1:24:05back. Is there is there is there a
- 1:24:09coffee shop on the way there? Yeah.
- 1:24:12I think these are important considerations.
- 1:24:14I agree. I mean, I think anytime that you
- 1:24:16do anything in life, like, beer, get a new job finding a place to
- 1:24:22live in general. Like you need to look at like
- 1:24:24all of the communities around the place that you live.
- 1:24:28Like, if you take where I live right now, you know, I've got a
- 1:24:31major Supermarket, maybe five or ten minutes in this direction.
- 1:24:36I've got a corner shop that I can.
- 1:24:37To across the street. I've got a local park that can
- 1:24:40exercise in. I've got a big massive, like
- 1:24:43foresti Nature Reserve area that's close by, it's got a bit
- 1:24:47of everything. Plus it's close to the city.
- 1:24:49I can walk to the city so there's all these different
- 1:24:51factors that make it a kind of an ideal place to be.
- 1:24:54My only peeve about gone to school and Maastricht is the
- 1:24:58fact that I have. It's like A long way away.
- 1:25:03Hmm, a lot of my dad's on this one.
- 1:25:12Yeah, it's a long like it's I've said this before, it's a long
- 1:25:15way away. And if you're late, you are very
- 1:25:18low. So, if it was okay, so like you
- 1:25:23were, like, you got it, boss, you're 15 minutes late, so that,
- 1:25:25like, the bus is running 15 minutes late.
- 1:25:27So like, instead of being buses running 15 minutes late, I'm
- 1:25:29probably going to be at school half an hour, 45 minutes later
- 1:25:33and I should be because of like traffic or something or just it
- 1:25:37could be traffic yet. It's half an hour away.
- 1:25:40So if you add that minutes of being late, then that's it.
- 1:25:46What were they like for being late?
- 1:25:47Or they have really bad for it. Or if your little three times,
- 1:25:52you have to remember, dad, you know, if you're late three times
- 1:25:59for school, what happens? If I add the report you to the
- 1:26:05education Authority in, you have to pay a fine.
- 1:26:08Whoa, okay. Okay.
- 1:26:10How much will we will drink it. Lunch.
- 1:26:16Sorry if it's without good reason.
- 1:26:20What if you're sick? And you haven't told them then.
- 1:26:22Yeah, but hey, it's like 600 euros but this is one of those
- 1:26:26tricky ones there isn't it because like it could
- 1:26:28legitimately be like, you're just like, you know, relying on
- 1:26:31public transport and you you're keeping, well, then you need to,
- 1:26:34you need to notify them. It's like if you if you're late
- 1:26:37three times without notifying them.
- 1:26:40I mean, like, so if I'm sick, I can't say that I'm sick.
- 1:26:45My dad has to say, call up and say that I'm sick.
- 1:26:48Yeah. It's not like a sort of thing
- 1:26:51where it's my responsibility. It kind of is in the sense that
- 1:26:57I need to make sure that I get my ass to school on time.
- 1:27:00Yeah. But if I'm late or not going to
- 1:27:04school for any reason, I have to make sure that both my parents
- 1:27:08and the school now. Yeah, damn.
- 1:27:12That's a lot of money. Being late, 600 years, Jesus.
- 1:27:16I'm pretty sure in England. If you aren't showing up at
- 1:27:20school though. I know I know my school.
- 1:27:25To come to your house. And make sure you've got your
- 1:27:29ass up and got in the car and went to school from what I
- 1:27:32remember. I mean, it never happened to me,
- 1:27:34but you would get suspended. Like, I would, I got suspended
- 1:27:38for bunking off school. I remember that.
- 1:27:40But like, as it was explained to me eventually, you know, you get
- 1:27:44suspended or get expelled. But then there's a point where,
- 1:27:47like, your parents could be like prosecuted if you didn't go to
- 1:27:50school. Yeah.
- 1:27:51Because it's something, it's your required by law, to make
- 1:27:54sure that your kid goes to school and get an education and
- 1:27:57you Be held accountable if they decide to just flunk it.
- 1:28:01So that's why parents are so strict about going to school.
- 1:28:05Hmm. I mean it's a bit different like
- 1:28:07if you're sick because you can just call up and say look
- 1:28:11Christian sect today cam come in blah blah, blah.
- 1:28:13Hmm. But if I'm going to work and
- 1:28:17leaving you with the responsibility of getting up
- 1:28:20getting dressed and going to school and if you're not hearing
- 1:28:23that, I'ma kick your ass boy. Yeah, because you could get me
- 1:28:28some to prison. Hmm, I think, I mean school does
- 1:28:32have an agenda and it, you know, it is kind of designed as a
- 1:28:36indoctrination type thing and but like that's not to say that
- 1:28:39all of it isn't useful school, could be improved in many
- 1:28:43different ways and it doesn't fully prepare you for adult life
- 1:28:46in any shape or form. But there are things there that
- 1:28:49are important. You know, like, learning to
- 1:28:51read, learning to do arithmetic. You know, the basic
- 1:28:54understanding of various Parts of what the life of society.
- 1:28:59I just maths, you know, doing maths and stuff.
- 1:29:04And I think that's taken over here.
- 1:29:07They're gonna, they gonna rek enen, reckoner calculating.
- 1:29:16So calculator is a wrecking, machine Wreckin machine, the
- 1:29:20ticket machine. Sorry?
- 1:29:22Right commissioner, okay, girl, you go Yeah.
- 1:29:27Yeah. No I get that.
- 1:29:28I get that. I think that.
- 1:29:34Given given that you like is a legal requirement, you have to
- 1:29:36do it. I think that there should be
- 1:29:40more stability on part of the students and and then the the
- 1:29:46parents to be able to kind of like invoke change and actually
- 1:29:48effect on like what their children are taught.
- 1:29:50Like I know, for instance, if I ever have kids, I'm going to
- 1:29:53work my ass off to make sure they get to go to like private
- 1:29:55school or something. Like, get the very best
- 1:29:57education possible. I like PT PTA meetings.
- 1:30:01Like the classic, the classic American thing, where the
- 1:30:03parents and teachers meet up and see what needs to change and
- 1:30:06things like that. Maybe I think I would be
- 1:30:09interested in having some sort of influence, because I would
- 1:30:13only like, I don't want to be too involved, but like I would,
- 1:30:16kind of want my children to at least learn like, you know,
- 1:30:19stuff that's useful to know. Like, I feel like whatever you
- 1:30:23choose to do with your life, past the age of like 16:18, your
- 1:30:27past college, or whatever. Like, that's fine, that's up to
- 1:30:30you. Like I would Force anything on
- 1:30:31my kids, for instance, like I wouldn't expect them to go to
- 1:30:35university or something like, but I would expect them to kind
- 1:30:37of, at least get that education. Just get that the bare minimum,
- 1:30:40get like what you need and then you kind of decide what you want
- 1:30:43to do with your life, from that moot, point onwards.
- 1:30:46All right, that's it seems fair to me.
- 1:30:48But given that like, they're kind of forced to do this thing.
- 1:30:50I think that like, you should have some involvement in what
- 1:30:54you're taught because it is a lot of time.
- 1:30:57Every week for many years. It's no wonder, I remember being
- 1:31:00at school. Most of it was boring and
- 1:31:02pointless and I would still maintain that even today.
- 1:31:05Like, yeah, could I have tried harder?
- 1:31:06Could I worked harder? Could I be more involved?
- 1:31:08Absolutely, but could have the teachers have been 100% better.
- 1:31:12Absolutely. Is there a ton of stuff that
- 1:31:14could have been removed and replaced with something more
- 1:31:16useful? Absolutely, I mean, for example,
- 1:31:19tax classes or I know home living classes, Jen.
- 1:31:24And I mean like, how to How to take care of yourself?
- 1:31:28Like, just all this basic stuff that.
- 1:31:31Okay, you can argue your parents should be responsible for but
- 1:31:35like not everyone's, there is sort of those classes now it's,
- 1:31:39it's called like tutorial. Let's take an hour a week where
- 1:31:44you get taught like about life. And if there isn't enough about
- 1:31:48that do do not. Let me know this to be more of a
- 1:31:50focus on. Like I remember I add fucking
- 1:31:53food Tech but like It wasn't proper cooking Janome.
- 1:31:58It was like, oh, we'll teach you how to make histories and yeah,
- 1:32:02like all like, this is how you make stone cakes, whatever the
- 1:32:05fuck it was, is that, why don't you teach me how to do, like,
- 1:32:07pasta bake or like, I don't know, something useful.
- 1:32:11But I'm actually gonna fit, teach me how to make a healthy
- 1:32:13meal that I can make, when I need to eat goddamn food.
- 1:32:18Yeah. Finally, to make a meal, time
- 1:32:21salad. Tell me how to make a.
- 1:32:22Why not? Why not I'm serious.
- 1:32:24Why do you have to chop vegetables and tell me how to
- 1:32:26make? Cookies because I'll just sit
- 1:32:28and make cookies older precisely except the eating healthy
- 1:32:32eating. How about it in guys?
- 1:32:342030 eaten 2020? Was it that guy says that
- 1:32:37there's that YouTube help as well from 2020 or whatever.
- 1:32:41The fuck is help as well. He's a great YouTuber.
- 1:32:44He's a guy. Does that music if they were
- 1:32:47smart laid-back? Something FDR something like
- 1:32:51that. He's like thank you, Superboy.
- 1:32:53Maybe she's slowly back. It should boil it back. back and
- 1:32:57he's like always he says he says this thing weighs like Something
- 1:33:04Squad was popping like hot squat.
- 1:33:07What's Poppin is that? I love it.
- 1:33:10I love that guy is brilliant because he's got a really open
- 1:33:13mind to music as well. Like like me like he's in he's
- 1:33:16more into like, you know, your hip hop and all that sort of
- 1:33:18stuff. I rap and trap and stuff but
- 1:33:21like people will send him, like rock country, whatever, and
- 1:33:24he'll sit down legitimately listen to it and enjoy it and
- 1:33:27like critique it and give his. All right, enjoy, I do.
- 1:33:33I wonder about that if he actually gets you must have you
- 1:33:35must have, you must have bought the rights to a lot of songs
- 1:33:38then. No, I mean, he's listening to
- 1:33:40light cyst everything from my System of a Down to like 69, KSI
- 1:33:45songs American rapping. I do wonder about these
- 1:33:48YouTubers, how they make money, because they must get copyright
- 1:33:51strike for everything. Yeah, I've got a copyright
- 1:33:53strike on The Siege video that I uploaded, but really, it was
- 1:33:57only it was only partial. So, it wasn't allowed in Denmark
- 1:34:02that, you know, you What's really funny?
- 1:34:03I've been getting a lot of copyright strikes 44 music
- 1:34:07recently, which is to be expected, but what I've noticed
- 1:34:10is if it sounds like really, really similar to the original.
- 1:34:15Yeah, it must sound good. Yeah, yeah, right.
- 1:34:17But this is a really interesting one.
- 1:34:18So I did a couple of Queens of the Stone Age covers, right?
- 1:34:21But I did one particular one, where I had the music in the
- 1:34:25background for the instrumental and then I was singing on like
- 1:34:30more or less identical to the original one.
- 1:34:33And it got blocked in every single country, they've removed
- 1:34:37it, since then. And now, it's just got a typical
- 1:34:39copyright claim and I'm disputing it.
- 1:34:42But that to me was like, almost like a mini compliment.
- 1:34:46It was like, it sounded so good that we actually thought it was.
- 1:34:50You uploading the original song and I like get it.
- 1:34:55You have you have you have confusion in your you have
- 1:34:59confusion in your brain. I do think I do think it would
- 1:35:01be nice if they wouldn't. Cockpit because I have videos
- 1:35:04where I have disputed it and they still claim money and I
- 1:35:08can't get any money from it and I okay yeah I don't know money
- 1:35:10from it anyway and you know it's not the end of the world but
- 1:35:13still it's a bit annoying because they are just covers.
- 1:35:16Do you know what I mean? I do give I do put the artist's
- 1:35:19name that's not like I say this is my song, you know.
- 1:35:21I mean it's like literally. It literally says Queens of the
- 1:35:25Stone Age over what a nerd. I'm talking about an older song.
- 1:35:29I did like a city in color cover like Free for years ago.
- 1:35:35Something, and I disputed it, and they've still got the claim
- 1:35:40there, and it's okay, fine. Yeah, is your song, but it's
- 1:35:43like, is this really necessary? It's just a cover.
- 1:35:46How many millions of covers are there online of this song, like
- 1:35:50Jubilee Darren in claim, every single one of them you gonna do?
- 1:35:55Well, that's the thing. Because what's happened there
- 1:35:56is, it's an automatic claim you dispute.
- 1:35:59Someone manually, looks at it and rejects it, but no reason.
- 1:36:03Is needed to be given. So it just, whatever that's it.
- 1:36:10But I mean I don't get it like even if like if you use somebody
- 1:36:16song in your video, that's a compliment to the person whose
- 1:36:20song that is because you're using their song for a good
- 1:36:24reason. The only thing, the only thing
- 1:36:27that should claim as like if people are claiming that they
- 1:36:30wrote the song but they didn't. I I agree with you, I do think
- 1:36:33it's unfair like if you do like a vlog and you put like just
- 1:36:37random song in it and it gets quite like the whole video gets
- 1:36:40claimed because you use that song for like 2 minutes, 3
- 1:36:44minutes and it's like really Like really?
- 1:36:48I mean, because if you look at this commuter segment of the, of
- 1:36:52the video, where I pragma data, and mute an entire segment,
- 1:36:55because it wasn't a freaking Harry Styles watermelon sugar.
- 1:36:59So in the background, yeah, opening hates the song so I can
- 1:37:03turn it up and he can turn it down, turn it up and then he
- 1:37:06switched it off and he he took the stereo out of the car and he
- 1:37:11said I hate that song. You know that But the classic
- 1:37:16car as well. That way you can pull the radio,
- 1:37:18I love those cars, you know. Yeah, he's pop the radio off.
- 1:37:23Good times, good times, but yeah, it's irritating, so tone.
- 1:37:31It is what it is. All right?
- 1:37:33Ladies drawing it all to a close because how long we've been
- 1:37:37talking now. It's been a while, so it's been
- 1:37:39an hour and 38 minutes wowser. Dale.
- 1:37:43Whoops I actually you know I did it's like the last time we had a
- 1:37:48podcast I did wonder like is this going to be difficult?
- 1:37:51Is it going to be worrying? Do I need to come in super
- 1:37:54prepared and suddenly, we've managed to talk for nearly two
- 1:37:56hours again, about orson's, me and you said, is there anything
- 1:38:00else that you really want to talk about the said, while not
- 1:38:03particularly? But it turns out we didn't need
- 1:38:05to weld up. The plan for me is always coming
- 1:38:07with some initial points, some stuff.
- 1:38:10And then anything else is a bonus and you can kind of To
- 1:38:12expand and see what happens. And, yeah, I don't even think we
- 1:38:16came in with that. I wrote down two questions.
- 1:38:19I've only asked you one of them and it wasn't even a
- 1:38:21particularly complex question. It was just, what have you been
- 1:38:24up to? Yeah, you said what have you
- 1:38:26been up to see ya? Now led to an hour and 40
- 1:38:31minutes of what have you been up to?
- 1:38:34I mean, yeah, must have must have been up to a lot, then
- 1:38:37check this out. We took we've spoken about Logan
- 1:38:39pool versus Floyd Mayweather, the life of been men.
- 1:38:42And Dragon bone, men, University paid advertising on social
- 1:38:46media. This is just some of the stuff
- 1:38:48we've spoken about. Yeah, but we'll have to save
- 1:38:51whatever's left for the next video.
- 1:38:54Next podcast, the next. This is DeeDee indeed.
- 1:38:58You know, I actually had an idea.
- 1:39:01If the conversation we're dead, I was gonna do.
- 1:39:04Would you rather and ask you what, you stammers?
- 1:39:07Yeah, and a skirt and we can do this for a future episode or a
- 1:39:10future segment, but it seems disinterested Me that I came
- 1:39:14into that prepared like our if the conversation goes dead, I've
- 1:39:17got this as I could back up and yet that just wasn't necessary.
- 1:39:21I don't know. In the slightest, we're just
- 1:39:24good at talking for. It's just we're just so damn
- 1:39:29good. Good good.
- 1:39:33I think this is good though. You know, like I said at the
- 1:39:35beginning, I'm going to be rotating with a mixture of these
- 1:39:39things. And you know because my idea is
- 1:39:41that if you're not always available, Available, I will
- 1:39:43have podcast where I just podcast ideas where I only talk
- 1:39:47about something at length, like I do with my own Vlogs and
- 1:39:51Stuff. Plus the interviews, I just
- 1:39:53think it gives a good dynamic because I mean this is still
- 1:39:57very much a developing podcast but you know the more content
- 1:40:01there is the more very content there is I guess the more
- 1:40:04interesting it is or could be candy maybe so enough, I don't
- 1:40:11know. I'm still Can it all out?
- 1:40:13But it will take time but it will get there.
- 1:40:17Yeah. I mean, that's the good thing
- 1:40:19about projects, the views set. I mean, they could be higher,
- 1:40:23but like they do seem to be regular.
- 1:40:25There are, there is a regular audience and that's something
- 1:40:29that means that people actively listen to the podcast.
- 1:40:32Enjoy it. And that's, that is my main goal
- 1:40:34in school, on Friday. Did you really knows?
- 1:40:38I got bored of listen to music. So I listen to yourself, did
- 1:40:41you? No, you you.
- 1:40:43And me other conversations. Hi.
- 1:40:45Yeah. See you listen to yourself.
- 1:40:48He just vein. Nice case, good.
- 1:40:54Sometimes that no, I do the same sometimes.
- 1:40:56Just listen, Jack. I mainly do it to kind of
- 1:40:59understand to reflect see how things would change.
- 1:41:03See what my style is like, see if things need to be tweaked or
- 1:41:07what I noticed is, I laughed at the exact same sort of X is in
- 1:41:11the actual podcast. So things that made me laugh.
- 1:41:14The first time made me laugh. Exactly.
- 1:41:15The same time said this to one of my guests recently that I
- 1:41:20think it's that it's good stead if you can because sometimes
- 1:41:22I'll believe one of my things on in the background while I'm
- 1:41:26doing work, right? Not not like I'm not actually
- 1:41:29listening but I'm like maybe I'm just editing or something but
- 1:41:33the same video or the same podcast or whatever, just to see
- 1:41:38how it sounds. But then I'll leave it on
- 1:41:40because I below is actually kind of interesting and I might
- 1:41:42That's weird. That like running.
- 1:41:44I'm finding my own work. Interesting, what's going on?
- 1:41:46Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:41:47But normally is because of the other person, it's not because
- 1:41:50of me speaking. So, don't need to hear yourself
- 1:41:52speak, but I think that stands in good stead that it can be on
- 1:41:56in the background and it's easy to listen to I think that's kind
- 1:41:59of a key with a podcast. Isn't this easy to listen to
- 1:42:04isn't listening to podcasts as good when you're trying to
- 1:42:06either go to sleep or do work? Which is weird because one is
- 1:42:10keeping you awake. In the other one is trying to
- 1:42:12help you God. Sleep.
- 1:42:14If I live with your podcast, if it's asleep.
- 1:42:16If you're asleep. I can only personally, I can
- 1:42:18only listen to things like podcast when I'm doing like the
- 1:42:21light work, where I don't need to concentrate too much.
- 1:42:24Because if I need to concentrate, I can't listen to
- 1:42:27anything weirdly. But I find it's like, for
- 1:42:30instance, I used to work in this Pub.
- 1:42:34My the back of a park and I was just doing that dishwashing and
- 1:42:37stuff. And so I was, is a tiny kitchen,
- 1:42:40it was just me and the chef's, right?
- 1:42:42And one of the main Chef, the head chef had like podcasts
- 1:42:46going on the background but not just podcasts, he did like audio
- 1:42:49books as well, and he would just have them on.
- 1:42:52And like sometimes we'd listen to music but a lot of the time
- 1:42:54he would just have the audio book and I just like lose myself
- 1:42:57in the story while I'm endlessly mind-numbingly washing plates.
- 1:43:01It was weird, you know, there'd be like stories of like dragons
- 1:43:05and people in caverns and shit and I'm washing plates for like,
- 1:43:09three hours and that was Really enjoyable.
- 1:43:13It's soothing in a way. All right.
- 1:43:17Well I hope I hope the people found this podcast.
- 1:43:19Soothing yeah, Ru Ru soothed, Ru Ru suitably soothed.
- 1:43:26That's that's the main question. Are you soothed?
- 1:43:31No, I'm creeped out creaking. Yeah, actually.
- 1:43:34No, I hope everyone is enjoying the podcasts.
- 1:43:37As much as obviously. We're enjoying doing it.
- 1:43:39This has been the first time having Dutch deals as a co-host
- 1:43:43and this will be a regular fixture.
- 1:43:44Like I mentioned in the beginning, I can't always
- 1:43:47guarantee when Dutch deals would be on it because he's busy with
- 1:43:51his channel and his projects but it's going to be a regular
- 1:43:54thing. You know whenever they try and
- 1:43:56I'll try to appear as much as I can, I think it's good.
- 1:44:00I mean we seem to have like a nice comfortable chemistry with
- 1:44:04each other able to have conversations and that's kind of
- 1:44:07the key. Like it's not just yourself like
- 1:44:09obviously if I can have anyone else on the show.
- 1:44:12As and I have had people come back and stuff, but I feel with
- 1:44:17this, we can kind of talk about anything and it will be
- 1:44:20enjoyable. We'll have fun.
- 1:44:22We'll talk. We'll hopefully have people send
- 1:44:26in ideas for things we can talk about or questions or whatever
- 1:44:29and see where this goes, you know, maybe maybe we'll have
- 1:44:32other co-hosts. Join us in the future.
- 1:44:36Maybe not, we'll sit, we'll see what happens.
- 1:44:39See where see where this journey takes us.
- 1:44:42And that that to me is the really enjoyable part of it.
- 1:44:44You know, I hadn't even considered in the beginning that
- 1:44:47I would even get past five episodes let alone 31 now.
- 1:44:52So yeah this is the 31st 31st episode God like I am I am I am
- 1:44:58back to back actually yeah you are.
- 1:45:00Yeah fuck yeah. And you hold the title for the
- 1:45:03most appearances which I imagine is number.
- 1:45:05This is number four number four well and it will only just
- 1:45:08increase because you know co-hosts tend to appear Well,
- 1:45:12I've got a lot of ideas for things we can do in the future.
- 1:45:14Like obviously would you rather 's future ask Christian segments
- 1:45:19and whatever else? I'm sure if there's anything
- 1:45:21big, any big, trending topics, we can, we can cover them in
- 1:45:24great detail. And yes, see what learning.
- 1:45:28Yeah, anyway, thanks to everyone for listening to another episode
- 1:45:33of the Christian Reeve podcast. Is there anything you want to
- 1:45:36say Dutch Dill to? Our Legions of fans, have a
- 1:45:41great day. And drink plenty of water and
- 1:45:45make sure, you know, some nice and comfy and don't, don't don't
- 1:45:49don't, don't get, don't get sick.
- 1:45:51Yes, loads download your download.
- 1:45:55Download your country's Corona app, and make sure that you stay
- 1:46:01informed of where you've been, where you've been in contact
- 1:46:04with and try not to die. And let's go.
- 1:46:12Try not to die. Some final thoughts that.
- 1:46:15Yeah. Dying isn't good for you.
- 1:46:17Don't do it. No shit, that's a sound bite,
- 1:46:26really well and so it's not it's not good for your health.
- 1:46:33Death is kind of where your health ends.
- 1:46:35I mean there's no Health after that, it's that's it, that's
- 1:46:39reaches zero. Guess the opposite of Health
- 1:46:44anyway. Yeah, that's that's what I
- 1:46:45really wanted to say that. It's all right.
- 1:46:50Yeah, everyone. Stay safe.
- 1:46:51Stay. Well, thank you for listening to
- 1:46:53the Christian we have podcast. And until next time, peace out.
