- 0:00Speaker 1: Here we are, guys, our last break of the day
- 0:03Speaker 1: on this Tuesday. Thank you so much for joining us.
- 0:05Speaker 1: We appreciate you. Junior. Before Steve closes us out, you
- 0:09Speaker 1: have a question for him?
- 0:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I just want to know your thoughts on his uncle.
- 0:13Speaker 2: You know, you start this show every day about being grateful,
- 0:18Speaker 2: and you talk about it as if all of us
- 0:20Speaker 2: know how to be grateful. How long did you have
- 0:23Speaker 2: to practice being grateful? Or do you practice being grateful?
- 0:26Speaker 2: And how do you do it?
- 0:29Speaker 3: You know, that's a that's an odd question.
- 0:34Speaker 4: I guess that's in the way you phrased it. If
- 0:40Speaker 4: I could help people understand that, I would probably phrase
- 0:43Speaker 4: it or put it to him this way. Gratitude, it
- 0:51Speaker 4: is probably the number one overlooked principle of success. Gratitude, too,
- 1:02Speaker 4: is the number one overlooked principle of success. I'm not
- 1:09Speaker 4: sure that everybody understands the importance of gratitude and how
- 1:16Speaker 4: essential it is to your growth as a person. You know,
- 1:23Speaker 4: let me break it down. Do you do basically this way?
- 1:27Speaker 4: Why would God give you more of something that you
- 1:33Speaker 4: don't appreciate? Why would anybody if you're in a relationship
- 1:39Speaker 4: with a person and you hug them every time you
- 1:42Speaker 4: see them, and they rebuff that hug almost every stop.
- 1:48Speaker 4: I don't want that. How many times would you keep
- 1:53Speaker 4: trying to hug this person that rebuffs every time you
- 1:57Speaker 4: come to them for the hug. How many times can
- 2:01Speaker 4: a person ask you for favor, you do it for
- 2:04Speaker 4: him and watch them walk away without them ever.
- 2:07Speaker 3: Saying thank you? How many times would you keep that up?
- 2:11Speaker 4: How many times could a neighbor come by your house
- 2:14Speaker 4: and borrow a cup of sugar and never say thank you?
- 2:17Speaker 4: How many more times can he come get that sugar
- 2:19Speaker 4: from you? How many times can you do a favor
- 2:24Speaker 4: or a service for someone you know and when you
- 2:27Speaker 4: do it, they don't say thank you. You know something, man,
- 2:32Speaker 4: I've given money to people on the street and I've
- 2:35Speaker 4: seen them again and I've given him money, and I
- 2:39Speaker 4: had this one guy said, hey, man, do you ever
- 2:42Speaker 4: say thank you?
- 2:43Speaker 3: He said, no, you just gave it to me what
- 2:45Speaker 3: you want me to do? Okay? Cool? So next time
- 2:48Speaker 3: I saw him, let me shut this down right here,
- 2:51Speaker 3: cause you got about two.
- 2:52Speaker 4: Times that you can do me like that. On time
- 2:56Speaker 4: number three, I'm dumb done. So now let's take that
- 2:59Speaker 4: whole thing that I just said all those little simple examples,
- 3:03Speaker 4: and let's apply it to your quest to become successful.
- 3:08Speaker 4: And God who wakes you up in the morning without
- 3:11Speaker 4: you asking, God who gives you a measure of health,
- 3:14Speaker 4: of breath, God who protects you from things and dangers
- 3:18Speaker 4: that you don't see, God who watches over you, has
- 3:21Speaker 4: kept you safe all these years. You never asked for that.
- 3:24Speaker 4: You drive your car, your car never involved in accident.
- 3:27Speaker 4: You do get an accident, you had insurance to recover. However,
- 3:30Speaker 4: your situation gets handled, You process it. Somehow God has
- 3:34Speaker 4: allowed you to meet the person of your dreams. It
- 3:36Speaker 4: worked out for a while, then it didn't work out.
- 3:38Speaker 4: You survived it. Sometimes, man, you go to work and
- 3:42Speaker 4: you get some bad news. You don't have a job
- 3:44Speaker 4: no more. But you survived it, and somehow God got
- 3:47Speaker 4: you a better job. You survived it. You know all
- 3:49Speaker 4: this thing.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Imagine God doing all this for you and you never
- 3:55Speaker 3: saying thank you. Ever.
- 3:59Speaker 4: Now, let's suppose every time God does something for you,
- 4:05Speaker 4: little or small, you say thank you. Thank you Lord
- 4:09Speaker 4: for the breath of lung, for the breath of add
- 4:12Speaker 4: I breathe in my lung. Thank You for your grace
- 4:14Speaker 4: and mercy of waking me up today. Thank You, Heavenly
- 4:18Speaker 4: Father for keeping your eye on me when I ain't
- 4:20Speaker 4: got it on myself.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Thank you for.
- 4:23Speaker 4: Closing this door knowing and realizing that there's another door
- 4:26Speaker 4: that you walk for you to walk through.
- 4:28Speaker 3: Thank your Heavenly Father. Suppose you did that every.
- 4:32Speaker 4: Day, understanding that the more grateful you are to God,
- 4:41Speaker 4: the more things He will give you to be grateful
- 4:44Speaker 4: for that don't make sense to you. You don't see that,
- 4:51Speaker 4: you don't understand how that can work for you. That
- 4:55Speaker 4: the more you are thankful, the more God will give you.
- 5:00Speaker 3: You be thankful for the reason.
- 5:03Speaker 4: One of the key reasons that God has kept me
- 5:07Speaker 4: with the favor and grace that I have in my
- 5:10Speaker 4: life is because I'm ever grateful to Him, and even
- 5:14Speaker 4: when it's not going my way, I continue to stretch
- 5:18Speaker 4: my hand out to other people when I don't see
- 5:22Speaker 4: where it's coming for me next. I have given to
- 5:24Speaker 4: people because I live by that principle understanding that God
- 5:29Speaker 4: will take care of me. Do unto others as you
- 5:34Speaker 4: would have them do unto you. So if I meet
- 5:37Speaker 4: a person that's really in need and I can fix it,
- 5:42Speaker 4: I usually try to fix it now if you've done
- 5:45Speaker 4: something to me like recently. I had a guy who
- 5:48Speaker 4: took some money from me a while ago and came
- 5:51Speaker 4: to me and the needed some more money. Well, I
- 5:54Speaker 4: forgave you. And then he said, hey, man, I thought
- 5:56Speaker 4: you forgave me for all that I said I did.
- 5:58Speaker 4: I didn't forget what you did. I'm not available for
- 6:02Speaker 4: that type of behavior. You can't take no more money. See,
- 6:05Speaker 4: So for me to give you money now and you
- 6:07Speaker 4: not to give it back, I'm stupid at this point.
- 6:12Speaker 4: But from the aspect of being successful, stop, do not
- 6:16Speaker 4: overlook the principle of gratitude because the more you are grateful,
- 6:21Speaker 4: the more God will give you to be grateful for.
- 6:24Speaker 4: And wouldn't that be amazing if you discovered that right now?
- 6:28Speaker 3: Wow?
- 6:29Speaker 4: How helpful would that be? Those are my closing remarks
- 6:32Speaker 4: that they hope you loved them. Hey, listen, y'all have
- 6:34Speaker 4: a good day today. Talk to God.
