POSTCAST: Carson Benge Makes Mets HISTORY, But New York's Comeback Falls SHORT

Locked On Mets - Daily Podcast On The New York Mets · Sep 26, 2026 · 16m

In what was a weird game between the Washington Nationals and New York Mets, it was Washington who got the better of things and defeated the Mets, 7-6.

With this loss, the Mets unfortunately secured their spot as the last place team in the NL East. There was some sloppy play tonight by both sides, highlighted mainly from the Mets with four wild pitches in one inning as part of a four run 4th inning for Washington.

The main takeaway for the Mets bats was Carson Benge's 20th home run of the season, securing him the first 20 homer and 20 stolen base season by a Mets rookie.
