Welcome to Bible Chat where we have.
• 0:04
Devotional conversations rooted in Scripture and relevant for
• 0:07
  today, February 10th. What?
• 0:11
  Really. Lasts.
• 0:13
Think about how much energy we spend chasing things that.
• 0:15
Disappear so quickly. The next upgrade, the next win,
• 0:20
the next bit of attention or approval.
• 0:23
It feels urgent in the moment, like if you don't grab it now
• 0:25
you'll miss out, but then you finally get it and almost
• 0:29
immediately, something else. Takes its place.
• 0:32
The satisfaction fades and the chase.
• 0:34
Starts all. Over again Proverbs, chapter 10.
• 0:38
Verse 16 cuts through that cycle with clarity.
• 0:41
It tells us that the wage of the righteous leads to life.
• 0:44
But the gain of the. Wicked leads to.
• 0:46
Sin. Not everything that pays off in
• 0:48
the short term is actually paying off in the long run.
• 0:53
Some choices look rewarding. But they.
• 0:55
Quietly pull your. Heart away from.
• 0:56
  God. Other choices?
• 0:58
May not impress. People, but they produce.
• 1:00
Real life on the inside. David understood this tension
• 1:04
deeply in Psalm chapter 17 verse 15, he says, As for me, I shall
• 1:10
  behold your face in righteousness.
• 1:11
When I awake, I shall be. Satisfied.
• 1:13
With your likeness. That's a bold.
• 1:15
Statement David is saying that his deepest satisfaction doesn't
• 1:20
come from success, comfort, or recognition.
• 1:23
It comes from God himself, from seeing him, from becoming more
• 1:27
like him, from waking up each day knowing his life is aligned
• 1:31
with what truly matters. Then Acts chapter 10 brings
• 1:35
eternity fully into view. Peter is speaking boldly,
• 1:39
explaining that Jesus is the one appointed by God to judge the
• 1:43
living and the. Dead that truth.
• 1:45
Changes everything. If Jesus is the judge.
• 1:49
Then popularity isn't the final word.
• 1:51
  Achievements aren't the final word.
• 1:53
Opinions aren't the final. Word he is.
• 1:56
And he doesn't measure life. The way the world does.
• 2:00
This doesn't mean the things of this world.
• 2:01
Are always bad. But it does mean they were never
• 2:04
meant to be your foundation. Money can't define you.
• 2:07
Success can't save you. Approval can't sustain you.
• 2:12
Only a life rooted in Christ lasts beyond the moment.
• 2:15
Living with eternity in mind doesn't make you disconnected
• 2:18
  from daily. Life it actually.
• 2:20
  Brings. Clarity to it it.
• 2:23
Helps you choose integrity when cutting corners.
• 2:25
Feels easier. It helps you value.
• 2:27
People over platforms, it helps you invest in what?
• 2:30
Builds your soul. Not just your image.
• 2:33
When you know what really lasts, you stop wasting your life on
• 2:36
what fades. God is inviting you to.
• 2:39
Lift your eyes to slow the. Chase to anchor your heart in
• 2:42
  him. Because in the end.
• 2:44
What truly lasts? Isn't what you accumulated, but
• 2:47
who you became in Christ and how?
• 2:49
Faithfully you walked. With him let's.
• 2:51
Pray Heavenly Father. Thank you for reminding me that
• 2:55
real life and lasting joy are found in you alone.
• 2:58
Help me to loosen my grip on temporary things and fix my
• 3:02
heart on what is eternal. Teach me to seek your presence
• 3:05
above success approval. Or gain shape my choices so they
• 3:09
honor you and lead to. Life.
• 3:11
I want to be satisfied in you and live with eternity in mind
• 3:16
in Jesus name, Amen. What if the way you pray changed
• 3:20
because you truly knew who God is?

• 5:47
They speak proudly. They have now surrounded us in

• 6:14
Wealth for their. Children, As for me, I shall see
• 6:17
your face in righteousness. I shall be satisfied when I
• 6:20
awake with seeing your form. Acts chapter 10, World English
• 6:24
Bible. Now there was a certain man in
• 6:26
Caesarea Cornelius by name, a centurion of what was called the
• 6:30
Italian regiment, A devout man, and one who feared.
• 6:33
  God with all. His house.
• 6:35
Who gave gifts? For the needy, generously to the
• 6:37
people and always. Prayed to God.
• 6:40
At about the 9th hour. Of the day.
• 6:41
He clearly saw in a vision an Angel of God coming to him and
• 6:45
saying to him, Cornelius, he fastening his eyes on him and
• 6:49
being frightened, said. What is it, Lord?
• 6:52
He said. To him, your prayers and your
• 6:53
gifts to the needy have gone up for a memorial.
• 6:56
Before God. Now send men to Joppa and get
• 6:58
Simon, who is also. Called Peter.
• 7:01
He is staying with a Tanner named Simon, whose house?
• 7:04
Is by the seaside. When the Angel who spoke to him
• 7:06
had departed Cornelius. Called two of his.
• 7:09
Household servants and a devout. Soldier of those who waited.
• 7:12
On him continually having explained everything to them, he
• 7:16
sent them to Joppa. Now on the next day, as they
• 7:19
were on their journey and got close to the city, Peter went up
• 7:22
on the housetop to pray. At about noon he became hungry
• 7:26
and desired to eat, but while they were preparing he fell into
• 7:29
a trance. He saw heaven opened and a
• 7:32
  certain container descending to him.
• 7:34
Like a great. Sheet let down by four corners
• 7:36
on the earth, in which were all kinds of four footed animals of
• 7:39
the earth, wild animals, reptiles and birds.
• 7:42
Of the sky. A voice came to him.
• 7:44
  Rise, Peter. Kill and eat.
• 7:46
But Peter said. Not so, Lord, for I have never
• 7:49
eaten anything that is common or unclean.
• 7:52
A voice came to him again the second time.
• 7:54
What God has cleansed you must not call unclean.
• 7:58
This was done three times, and immediately the thing was
• 8:00
received up into heaven. Now while.
• 8:02
Peter was very. Perplexed in himself what the
• 8:05
vision which he had seen might mean.
• 8:07
Behold, the men who were sent by Cornelius, having made inquiry
• 8:11
for Simon's house, stood. Before the gate.
• 8:13
And called and asked whether Simon.
• 8:15
Who is also called Peter. Was lodging there.
• 8:18
While Peter. Was pondering the vision.
• 8:20
The Spirit said to him, Behold, three men seek you.
• 8:23
But arise get. Down and go with them, doubting
• 8:26
nothing, for I have sent them. Peter went down to the men and
• 8:29
said, Behold, I am he whom you seek, why have you come?
• 8:33
They said Cornelius, a centurion, A righteous man and
• 8:36
one who fears God and well spoken of by all the nation of
• 8:39
  the. Jews was directed.
• 8:41
By a holy Angel to invite you to his house and to listen to what
• 8:44
  you. Say so he.
• 8:46
Called them in and provided. A place to stay.
• 8:49
On the next day Peter arose and went out with them, and some of
• 8:52
the brothers from Joppa accompanied him.
• 8:54
On the next day they entered into Caesarea.
• 8:57
Cornelius was waiting for them, having called.
• 9:00
Together his relatives. And his near friends.
• 9:02
When Peter entered, Cornelius met him, fell down at his feet,
• 9:06
and worshipped him. But Peter raised him up, saying,
• 9:09
Stand up, I myself am also a man.
• 9:11
As he talked with him, he went in and found many gathered
• 9:14
together. He said to them, You yourselves
• 9:17
know how it is an unlawful thing for a man who is a Jew to join
• 9:20
himself or come to one of another nation.
• 9:23
But God has shown me that I shouldn't call any man unholy or
• 9:26
  unclean. Therefore I also.
• 9:28
Came without complaint when I was sent for.
• 9:31
I asked therefore, why did. You send for me, Cornelius.
• 9:34
Said four days ago I was. Fasting until this hour and at
• 9:37
the 9th hour I prayed in my house, and behold a man stood
• 9:41
before me in bright clothing and said, Cornelius, your.
• 9:44
Prayer is heard. And your gifts to the needy are
• 9:46
remembered in the sight. Of God send therefore.
• 9:49
To Joppa and summon Simon. Who is also called Peter.
• 9:52
He is staying in the House of a Tanner named Simon.
• 9:55
By the seaside. When he comes, he will speak.
• 9:57
To you. Therefore I sent to you at once,
• 10:00
and it was good of you to come now.
• 10:02
Therefore we are all here present.
• 10:04
In the sight of God to. Hear all things that have been
• 10:06
  commanded. You by God.
• 10:08
Peter opened his mouth and said. Truly, I perceive.
• 10:11
That God doesn't show favoritism, but in every nation
• 10:14
he who fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to
• 10:17
him. The word which he sent to the
• 10:19
children of Israel. Preaching good news of peace by
• 10:22
Jesus Christ. He is Lord of all.
• 10:25
  You yourselves know what happened.
• 10:26
Which was proclaimed. Throughout all Judea, beginning
• 10:29
from Galilee after the baptism which John preached, how God
• 10:33
anointed Jesus of Nazareth. With the Holy Spirit.
• 10:36
And with power, who went about doing good and healing all.
• 10:39
Who were oppressed by the devil, for God was.
• 10:41
With him we are witnesses of everything he did, both in the
• 10:44
country of the Jews and in Jerusalem, whom they also
• 10:47
killed. Hanging him on a tree, God
• 10:50
raised him up the third day and gave him.
• 10:52
To be revealed. Not to all.
• 10:54
The people. But to witnesses who were chosen
• 10:56
before. By God to us who?
• 10:58
Ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead, he
• 11:01
commanded. Us to preach to the people.
• 11:03
And to testify. That this is he.
• 11:05
Who is appointed? By God as the Judge.
• 11:07
Of the living and the dead, all the.
• 11:09
Prophets testify about. Him that through his name,
• 11:12
everyone who believes in him will receive remission of sins.
• 11:16
While Peter was still. Speaking these.
• 11:17
Words, the holy. Spirit fell on all.
• 11:20
Those who heard the word they of the.
• 11:22
Circumcision, who believed were amazed as many as came with.
• 11:25
Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit was also poured.
• 11:29
Out on the Gentiles, for they heard them speaking in other
• 11:32
languages and magnifying God. Then Peter answered, Can anyone
• 11:36
forbid these people from being? Baptized with water, they have
• 11:40
received the Holy Spirit just like us.
• 11:42
He commanded them to be baptized in the name.
• 11:44
Of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay some

days. Thanks for joining us on Bible
