- 0:02Welcome to Bible Chat where we have.
- 0:04Devotional conversations rooted in Scripture and relevant for
- 0:07today, February 10th. What?
- 0:11Really. Lasts.
- 0:13Think about how much energy we spend chasing things that.
- 0:15Disappear so quickly. The next upgrade, the next win,
- 0:20the next bit of attention or approval.
- 0:23It feels urgent in the moment, like if you don't grab it now
- 0:25you'll miss out, but then you finally get it and almost
- 0:29immediately, something else. Takes its place.
- 0:32The satisfaction fades and the chase.
- 0:34Starts all. Over again Proverbs, chapter 10.
- 0:38Verse 16 cuts through that cycle with clarity.
- 0:41It tells us that the wage of the righteous leads to life.
- 0:44But the gain of the. Wicked leads to.
- 0:46Sin. Not everything that pays off in
- 0:48the short term is actually paying off in the long run.
- 0:53Some choices look rewarding. But they.
- 0:55Quietly pull your. Heart away from.
- 0:56God. Other choices?
- 0:58May not impress. People, but they produce.
- 1:00Real life on the inside. David understood this tension
- 1:04deeply in Psalm chapter 17 verse 15, he says, As for me, I shall
- 1:10behold your face in righteousness.
- 1:11When I awake, I shall be. Satisfied.
- 1:13With your likeness. That's a bold.
- 1:15Statement David is saying that his deepest satisfaction doesn't
- 1:20come from success, comfort, or recognition.
- 1:23It comes from God himself, from seeing him, from becoming more
- 1:27like him, from waking up each day knowing his life is aligned
- 1:31with what truly matters. Then Acts chapter 10 brings
- 1:35eternity fully into view. Peter is speaking boldly,
- 1:39explaining that Jesus is the one appointed by God to judge the
- 1:43living and the. Dead that truth.
- 1:45Changes everything. If Jesus is the judge.
- 1:49Then popularity isn't the final word.
- 1:51Achievements aren't the final word.
- 1:53Opinions aren't the final. Word he is.
- 1:56And he doesn't measure life. The way the world does.
- 2:00This doesn't mean the things of this world.
- 2:01Are always bad. But it does mean they were never
- 2:04meant to be your foundation. Money can't define you.
- 2:07Success can't save you. Approval can't sustain you.
- 2:12Only a life rooted in Christ lasts beyond the moment.
- 2:15Living with eternity in mind doesn't make you disconnected
- 2:18from daily. Life it actually.
- 2:20Brings. Clarity to it it.
- 2:23Helps you choose integrity when cutting corners.
- 2:25Feels easier. It helps you value.
- 2:27People over platforms, it helps you invest in what?
- 2:30Builds your soul. Not just your image.
- 2:33When you know what really lasts, you stop wasting your life on
- 2:36what fades. God is inviting you to.
- 2:39Lift your eyes to slow the. Chase to anchor your heart in
- 2:42him. Because in the end.
- 2:44What truly lasts? Isn't what you accumulated, but
- 2:47who you became in Christ and how?
- 2:49Faithfully you walked. With him let's.
- 2:51Pray Heavenly Father. Thank you for reminding me that

- 3:02heart on what is eternal. Teach me to seek your presence
- 3:05above success approval. Or gain shape my choices so they
- 3:09honor you and lead to. Life.
- 3:11I want to be satisfied in you and live with eternity in mind
- 3:16in Jesus name, Amen. What if the way you pray changed
- 3:20because you truly knew who God is?

- 5:47They speak proudly. They have now surrounded us in
- 5:50our steps. They set their eyes to cast.
- 5:52Us down to the earth. He is like a lion that is
- 5:55greedy. Of his prey.
- 5:56As it were, a young lion lurking in.
- 5:57Secret places arise. Yahweh, confront him, cast him

- 6:04By your sword. From men by your hand, Yahweh,
- 6:06from men of the world, whose portion is in this.
- 6:09Life, you fill the belly. Of your cherished ones, your

- 6:14Wealth for their. Children, As for me, I shall see
- 6:17your face in righteousness. I shall be satisfied when I
- 6:20awake with seeing your form. Acts chapter 10, World English
- 6:24Bible. Now there was a certain man in
- 6:26Caesarea Cornelius by name, a centurion of what was called the
- 6:30Italian regiment, A devout man, and one who feared.
- 6:33God with all. His house.
- 6:35Who gave gifts? For the needy, generously to the
- 6:37people and always. Prayed to God.
- 6:40At about the 9th hour. Of the day.
- 6:41He clearly saw in a vision an Angel of God coming to him and
- 6:45saying to him, Cornelius, he fastening his eyes on him and
- 6:49being frightened, said. What is it, Lord?
- 6:52He said. To him, your prayers and your
- 6:53gifts to the needy have gone up for a memorial.
- 6:56Before God. Now send men to Joppa and get
- 6:58Simon, who is also. Called Peter.
- 7:01He is staying with a Tanner named Simon, whose house?
- 7:04Is by the seaside. When the Angel who spoke to him
- 7:06had departed Cornelius. Called two of his.
- 7:09Household servants and a devout. Soldier of those who waited.
- 7:12On him continually having explained everything to them, he
- 7:16sent them to Joppa. Now on the next day, as they
- 7:19were on their journey and got close to the city, Peter went up
- 7:22on the housetop to pray. At about noon he became hungry
- 7:26and desired to eat, but while they were preparing he fell into
- 7:29a trance. He saw heaven opened and a
- 7:32certain container descending to him.
- 7:34Like a great. Sheet let down by four corners
- 7:36on the earth, in which were all kinds of four footed animals of
- 7:39the earth, wild animals, reptiles and birds.
- 7:42Of the sky. A voice came to him.
- 7:44Rise, Peter. Kill and eat.
- 7:46But Peter said. Not so, Lord, for I have never
- 7:49eaten anything that is common or unclean.
- 7:52A voice came to him again the second time.
- 7:54What God has cleansed you must not call unclean.
- 7:58This was done three times, and immediately the thing was
- 8:00received up into heaven. Now while.
- 8:02Peter was very. Perplexed in himself what the
- 8:05vision which he had seen might mean.
- 8:07Behold, the men who were sent by Cornelius, having made inquiry
- 8:11for Simon's house, stood. Before the gate.
- 8:13And called and asked whether Simon.
- 8:15Who is also called Peter. Was lodging there.
- 8:18While Peter. Was pondering the vision.
- 8:20The Spirit said to him, Behold, three men seek you.
- 8:23But arise get. Down and go with them, doubting
- 8:26nothing, for I have sent them. Peter went down to the men and
- 8:29said, Behold, I am he whom you seek, why have you come?
- 8:33They said Cornelius, a centurion, A righteous man and
- 8:36one who fears God and well spoken of by all the nation of
- 8:39the. Jews was directed.
- 8:41By a holy Angel to invite you to his house and to listen to what
- 8:44you. Say so he.
- 8:46Called them in and provided. A place to stay.
- 8:49On the next day Peter arose and went out with them, and some of
- 8:52the brothers from Joppa accompanied him.
- 8:54On the next day they entered into Caesarea.
- 8:57Cornelius was waiting for them, having called.
- 9:00Together his relatives. And his near friends.
- 9:02When Peter entered, Cornelius met him, fell down at his feet,
- 9:06and worshipped him. But Peter raised him up, saying,
- 9:09Stand up, I myself am also a man.
- 9:11As he talked with him, he went in and found many gathered
- 9:14together. He said to them, You yourselves
- 9:17know how it is an unlawful thing for a man who is a Jew to join
- 9:20himself or come to one of another nation.
- 9:23But God has shown me that I shouldn't call any man unholy or
- 9:26unclean. Therefore I also.
- 9:28Came without complaint when I was sent for.
- 9:31I asked therefore, why did. You send for me, Cornelius.
- 9:34Said four days ago I was. Fasting until this hour and at
- 9:37the 9th hour I prayed in my house, and behold a man stood
- 9:41before me in bright clothing and said, Cornelius, your.
- 9:44Prayer is heard. And your gifts to the needy are
- 9:46remembered in the sight. Of God send therefore.
- 9:49To Joppa and summon Simon. Who is also called Peter.
- 9:52He is staying in the House of a Tanner named Simon.
- 9:55By the seaside. When he comes, he will speak.
- 9:57To you. Therefore I sent to you at once,
- 10:00and it was good of you to come now.
- 10:02Therefore we are all here present.
- 10:04In the sight of God to. Hear all things that have been
- 10:06commanded. You by God.
- 10:08Peter opened his mouth and said. Truly, I perceive.
- 10:11That God doesn't show favoritism, but in every nation
- 10:14he who fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to
- 10:17him. The word which he sent to the
- 10:19children of Israel. Preaching good news of peace by
- 10:22Jesus Christ. He is Lord of all.
- 10:25You yourselves know what happened.
- 10:26Which was proclaimed. Throughout all Judea, beginning
- 10:29from Galilee after the baptism which John preached, how God
- 10:33anointed Jesus of Nazareth. With the Holy Spirit.
- 10:36And with power, who went about doing good and healing all.
- 10:39Who were oppressed by the devil, for God was.
- 10:41With him we are witnesses of everything he did, both in the
- 10:44country of the Jews and in Jerusalem, whom they also
- 10:47killed. Hanging him on a tree, God
- 10:50raised him up the third day and gave him.
- 10:52To be revealed. Not to all.
- 10:54The people. But to witnesses who were chosen
- 10:56before. By God to us who?
- 10:58Ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead, he
- 11:01commanded. Us to preach to the people.
- 11:03And to testify. That this is he.
- 11:05Who is appointed? By God as the Judge.
- 11:07Of the living and the dead, all the.
- 11:09Prophets testify about. Him that through his name,
- 11:12everyone who believes in him will receive remission of sins.
- 11:16While Peter was still. Speaking these.
- 11:17Words, the holy. Spirit fell on all.
- 11:20Those who heard the word they of the.
- 11:22Circumcision, who believed were amazed as many as came with.
- 11:25Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit was also poured.
- 11:29Out on the Gentiles, for they heard them speaking in other
- 11:32languages and magnifying God. Then Peter answered, Can anyone
- 11:36forbid these people from being? Baptized with water, they have
- 11:40received the Holy Spirit just like us.
- 11:42He commanded them to be baptized in the name.
- 11:44Of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay some
- 11:47days. Thanks for joining us on Bible
