Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: Hey guys, guy here coming up on the show today, a conversation with Matt Mayoco.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_01]: Matt is one of the most knowledgeable, forty-ninters people and NFL reporters for that matter.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_01]: This is a back and forth dual conversation in the sense that it's not me interviewing him or him interviewing me.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_01]: This was on his YouTube channel and my YouTube channel and this
- 0:24[SPEAKER_01]: personally delivered podcast feed to you.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_01]: So, some back and forth, it starts with Matt initiating the conversation, but then we just start getting into a bunch of nine or stuff.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_01]: So, hope you enjoyed.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_01]: Here we go.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_00]: All right, the shoe is on the other foot.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_00]: Usually, I've been on Guy Habermans YouTube channel.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_00]: And this is the first time that now I'm going to lead this discussion.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_00]: Is that okay, Guy?
- 0:50[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, sure.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_00]: And we'll both have it on our respective YouTube channels.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_00]: You are, you've been the guy in charge and we all wish great pop a well as he goes through his battle that he's been public about and acknowledged, but you know, you have the, the herkially in job of filling in for Greg and and guy you've done a great job in the first two preseason games, calling the action of forty hours preseason.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: So let me just start off with congratulations on doing such a good job in bringing
- 1:26[SPEAKER_00]: your reporting skills, those nuggets on every players and housing gone for you so far.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_00]: It's been fun.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's been, you know, I think the second week, I was very aware that Niners at Raiders, it was Raider alumni day.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_01]: Like, that's a day.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_01]: And I said it on my thing on Sunday.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_01]: Like, that's a day Greg Papa should be there for, right?
- 1:45[SPEAKER_01]: And all these Raider highlights should have his voice.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_01]: And I know they've had, they don't do that at the Raiders anymore.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, I know Tim loves him, but luckily Tim is, Tim Ryan is one of the best in the, I mean, he was at Fox for a long time for a good reason.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_01]: He's an excellent broadcaster.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_01]: He's made it very easy.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_01]: The production crew they use a lot of NBC, Sean Madison is the, I'm sure you know, is the sharks producer, Paul Davis, the director.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's really good crew.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_01]: So it makes it very easy to just kind of, I think the, I tell people the best, the best broadcaster do.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_01]: that for me or ones where you just only say the things you wanna say, meaning your analyst steps in the right spot, graphics come in at the right time, the cameras are showing things and that's what it's been like.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_01]: So it's been fun from that perspective.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_01]: And it's been cool we've played, I think we'll do it in third preseason game each of the first two games we've played one of Greg's big highlights.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_01]: And I can tell it gets Tim gone, it gets me go, it's everybody going.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Greg is one of a kind, he's an excellent excellent excellent broadcaster in person.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_01]: So it's fun to hear some of him.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_01]: One other thing I'll add, Matt.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_01]: I mentioned this to Derek his son, Papa, on his show in Canberra, but...
- 2:59[SPEAKER_01]: The best thing I did was I watched ten minutes of Titan's Niners' Preseason from last year.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_01]: And I watch every second of it.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_01]: I listen to those two guys on radio and I'm watching the game during the regular season in my office.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_01]: And the best thing I did was watch ten minutes of the Titans last year and remind myself that it's just impossible to do Greg.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_01]: Only Greg can do it.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_01]: So it just made it very easy to not even try and be Greg, because only Greg is Greg.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I know doubt about it.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: And all you can do is be guy, guy, hey, Roman, right?
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you can't be great pop in.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: I think you do a very good guy, hey, Roman.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: I'm doing my best guy, Roman.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: Let's just ask you this.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_00]: You've been at practices in the past past years.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: You always have your your your card out there, your your big notes that you're you're taking notes, but how has your perspective changed now that you're calling the games and just how firm about grasp do you have on this roster this ninety man roster right now for the forty nine years.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think in years past, I probably focused on more stars, global issues, a couple of position battles.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't pay as close attention to the ninth and tenth defensive line, and I left that to the beat writers like you who really understood that stuff.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_01]: And this year, I'm paying much closer attention to it because it's a big part of the third quarter.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's a big part of this third preseason game.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_01]: I saw you make note of this on Saturday.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_01]: You know, as we talk here Monday, final roster cuts are Tuesday.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, that stuff really matters.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_01]: So I would say knowing everybody's number.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_01]: From one to ninety nine, I'm much better at that this year, because I, you know, that matters much more to me, because it's live reaction versus, you know, what I've done in the past is doing some YouTube stuff.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_01]: So that's that's probably a big difference.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: And knowing the numbers of the free hours this summer is more challenging than ever because they're bringing in
- 5:05[SPEAKER_00]: defense of Lyman, you know, from the UFL on a daily basis, sometimes more than one a day, you know, there's just the injury situation.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: I think, I think, eighteen or nineteen defense of Lyman, they have on their ninety-man roster, including like seven who are injured.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_00]: Are you looking around for your depth chart?
- 5:24[SPEAKER_01]: No, I just look at what I'm kind of note where I write to write everybody on at the other day.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_01]: I got it.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_01]: Now, this is not their ninety I've got twenty one at some point in time here.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so that probably includes like some of the guys say if they really Kevin.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and then it includes like Kevin given.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I mean, he's still on their ninety man roster.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_01]: Gemma to read you the whole list I have here with this big event.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_01]: Both of Williams, Khalia Davis, Bryce Huff, Yeter Gross, Martha, CJ West, Evan Anderson, Alfred Collins, Sam.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Koo not hold on.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, he hasn't played yet.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, hold on.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_01]: Let me get it.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Koo.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_01]: I can't get it.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_01]: Tell me.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Kalano.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_01]: I've been practicing that one.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_01]: He hasn't played.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_01]: I want to.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, Sebastian.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_00]: Volta.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I want to.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_01]: Volta's given Jordan Elliott William Bradley King, Michael Dwom for here and gone.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_01]: Demon Harris, Travis Gibson, Jonathan Garvin, Jalen Allen, Bruce Hector, Shekel Brown, Robert Biel.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_00]: Did you see Travis Gibson?
- 6:24[SPEAKER_01]: I did say Travis kept you.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_00]: That's a lot of names.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_00]: And I tried to like keep up with you with my fingers and I lost track.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm wearing shoes too.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_00]: So I kind of used my quite toes to keep counting.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_00]: That's a lot of guys.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: And so there's a lot of positions that just kind of like it's hard to kind of
- 6:49[SPEAKER_00]: differentiate and also you have to take in to account the injuries.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: We talked about the injuries there on the defense of line, but I mean, when you look at the financial running back situation and the injuries they have there, you know, they have to take into account for the start of the regular season, who's going to be healthy, who's not going to be healthy, but they want on the team and who might have a longer term injury
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: that warrants putting that player on IR to start the season open a roster spot.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_00]: So I mean, that's that's wild when you consider that if you look at the forty minutes half backs who are really in contention for roster spots.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: Now, maybe Jeff Wilson can get a contention for a roster spot, but he's so late to the party.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: I don't necessarily put him in that category, but the only healthy running back of the guys who have been here all along is Christian McAfrey.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_01]: I know, do you think, let me ask you this, do you think, you know, last year, I think Corey Conner's been better in this preseason than, then Cody Schrader was in the last preseason, obviously, Cody Schrader didn't clear waivers.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_01]: Before the high ankle spraying, do you think Corey Conner was going to make the fifty three men?
- 7:56[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's closer.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's close, but I would say yes.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_00]: And now,
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: Now they're in a spot where how severe is that high ankle sprain?
- 8:07[SPEAKER_00]: And so, is he somebody?
- 8:09[SPEAKER_00]: They put on IR to open the season, which would keep him out for the first four games.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: And in essence, that's kind of, I think that's the play, because I think what that does is it kind of kicks the can down the road a little bit.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_00]: And then after four games or five games,
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: they can then decide like, okay, what are we gonna do with him?
- 8:31[SPEAKER_00]: And there might be an injury elsewhere on the fifty three man that opens the door for him.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_00]: So to me, even though I just did my most recent fifty three man projection, and I have him on the fifty three, but I think probably the best play and maybe the more logical play would be to start him on IR just as they'll likely do with Kevin Gibbons, him with the pectoral injury,
- 8:57[SPEAKER_00]: kinder with the high ankle sprain.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_01]: I did wonder, you hate it because he looks like a useful player.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: He does.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_01]: But it may, it around about way, be kind of a blessing for them because he's looked really good.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_01]: Like they were going to have to put him on the fifth or three.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_01]: And we saw another game to play.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_01]: Matt got, there could be more, you know what I mean?
- 9:16[SPEAKER_01]: Like, there could be more.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully there's not.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, you know what, and the good thing.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_00]: And like, you know, you're looking for the silver lining here, forty-nine fans.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_00]: But the only injury
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: that they've incurred during training camp that will have a significant spill over effect into the regular season is Kevin Gibbons and probably looking in him being, you know, kind of a bottom line rotational player on the defensive line anyway.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_00]: But man, when Poonie got injured and the four days immediately ruled him out on Saturday night,
- 9:54[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I mean, there's like, oh, no, what was that injury?
- 9:59[SPEAKER_00]: And now, you know, it's still something that's going to impact him.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_00]: Channing had called it what a few weeks.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_00]: Whether that means, you know, he might not be ready week one.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: He could be ready week one, touch and go, at least none of those injuries.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: are to front line guys who are going to be like season long kinds of injuries.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it just I think part of the consternation is if you're not healthy to start everybody knows that nobody's healthy week, fifteen, so but at least be healthy week one, you know, and that's
- 10:37[SPEAKER_01]: And hopefully by this week, we'll see this will be an interesting week to me.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_01]: Like at the top of my list this week, Matt is Michael Williams back is CJ West, but like we really want to see my call.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_01]: He was going to play in that first, probably going to play in that first pre-season game against Denver, joint practice injury, CJ West, joint practice the next week injury.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_01]: Those two guys are critical parts of this defensive line.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_01]: So that's at the top of the list for this week I would say.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and those are guys that need it.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_00]: You know, those are guys.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_00]: Very few defensive linemen come in as ready made.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_00]: Let's hit the ground running week one.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, those rookies need the practices.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_00]: They need the game reps.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_00]: And right now, what's kind of interesting is Alfred Collins was the guy who was so far behind when training camp started.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_00]: And honestly,
- 11:25[SPEAKER_00]: You know, my thought with him would be, well, it's going to be difficult for him to stay healthy all through training camp because he's such a big guy.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't have that base of reps during the offseason program, OTAs, leading in the training camp.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_00]: And then as it turns out, you know, the other guys, same kind of bizarre injuries for them, hyper extended knees with Michael Williams and CJ West.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_00]: But Alfred Collins has been getting in the work and practicing.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_00]: And he needs it.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_00]: It's very clear, you know, I don't think he's anywhere near regular season game ready.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_00]: Whereas those other two guys when they started training camp, they were further along.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_00]: But now they're growth.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_00]: Their development has been stunted because of these injuries.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the other group, I think about in that regard,
- 12:14[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, one thing it's really interesting.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_01]: The second area has the potential to be pretty good, right, with green, with up and stout, with Lenore.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's really hard.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_01]: just walk right in and play safety in the NFL.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_01]: It's a complicated thing to do, but Marky Seagull is going to have a chance to do it next to Jason Pinnock.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_01]: It seems like it's Seagull and Jaya Brown for that other spot.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_00]: You think Pinnock is clearly a starter and if Seagull were to emerge into that competition, which he has, it would be more at the expense of Jaya Brown.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just, I'm saying exactly what Tim Ryan said in the broadcast.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Tim knows a lot more about it.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_00]: The only thing, I would like Pinox injury.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_00]: It seems to open the door a little bit.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_00]: I guess I would agree with that because I haven't seen Jair Brown just take that next step and I realized, you know, was the first play of the game.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_00]: Brock Bauer goes up over him to make that play.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_00]: Brock Bauer is going to make a lot of plays over a lot of starting safeties in the NFL this season, but that would have been a nice opportunity for Brown to time that high point and break that thing up because he looked like he was in good position.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, look like he lost his footing at the last second.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_01]: It's a good point, right, because Pinoc hasn't been on the field.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_01]: But I just think you have to be very aware of the guys who came over with Robert Sala, or at least he didn't come with Robert.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_01]: He was on the Giants, but you know, kind of a Sala guy.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_01]: And they like him.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_01]: And so, but to me, what's interesting about it is, it's a new defensive coordinator for most of these guys.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_01]: Gus Bradley comes and Gus was there for the birth of the Legion of Boom.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_01]: I would love for them to play together before the season starts.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I know Lenore has played and green has played and they feel good about up and stout.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't used it on the broadcast yet because he hasn't played yet.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe if he plays this week, I don't know if you ever thought if you think up, then it'll be back.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, but I talked to his college coach at Western Kentucky, Tyson Health.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_01]: And he said that he thought one of the reasons Upton would and has
- 14:30[SPEAKER_01]: acclimating quickly to the NFL is because they run very complicated schemes.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't a Kentucky.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of their defensive coaches come from the Saban tree.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_01]: And so it's just a lot of complication.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_01]: It's a lot of learning.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_01]: It's a lot of you have to have a good work ethic in terms of the film room.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_01]: And then you have to be able to process it quickly and stop played inside and outside at Western Kentucky.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_01]: They moved them inside because they wanted to be able to use them on pressure packages and that sort of thing.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_01]: Hmm, so he thought he would he would adapt quickly.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_00]: But anyway, but community one, can I give you one up in Stout story, too?
- 15:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_00]: So the four years first year defensive backscoach is Ray Brown, not the former forty nine or just offensive lineman Ray Brown, but Ray Brown.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_00]: was an assistant coach, defensive backs coach with Boston College last year.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_00]: Boston College played Western Kentucky.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_00]: Now, typically, when a defensive backs coach, when his defense is off the field, he's back there on the bench with his defensive backs, getting things squared away and making adjustments and what else of defensive backs coach does.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_00]: But in this game, he started hearing the safety or a, I figure, exactly what position upton was playing for Western Kentucky corner, nickel, whatever.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_00]: I think they moved him.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he played ball.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_00]: So, but he kept hearing this player in the Western Kentucky defense of backfield communicating with all of his guys.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_00]: And basically speaking, Ray Brown's language.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_00]: And so he started paying attention whenever Western Kentucky's defense was on the field.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_00]: He was paying attention to up to the staff.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_00]: And he goes, that's stuck with me.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_00]: I started watching him.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_00]: I admired him.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_00]: I liked his game.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_00]: And then it turns out, whatever, you know, four months later, five months later, he's now coaching up to the staff.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_00]: Is that kind of funny?
- 16:25[SPEAKER_00]: That's really, I mean, it's isn't it?
- 16:27[SPEAKER_01]: For all of the science of scouting and
- 16:30[SPEAKER_01]: in recruiting a cause the same way for all the science of it.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes it's one person has one thing they like, they bring it up.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_01]: You know, sometimes you're breaking ties between players that have to be impossibly thin.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, teams love to say, oh, we had to get this guy in the third, the fifth round.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_01]: We love this guy.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_01]: But you know, I think the amount of information they really have, one piece of insight like that can can be the difference.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_01]: That's really cool.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_01]: Now, yeah, was Ray Brown, I guess Jeff Haffley wasn't there.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_01]: Jeff Haffley was already with the Packers last year.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if they overlap.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_00]: Bill O'Brien off my off the top of my head, I can't recall how long Ray Brown was with Boston College.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_00]: if there is overlap there.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_01]: No, that's interesting.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, but these are, but this is still, the secondary is a unit that has to be able to communicate and move together and trust each other and
- 17:26[SPEAKER_01]: fill space when I vacate it and all that.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, I hope that early on, you know, they had a, the bus, where the story of the first pre-season game against Denver, had a, they had some in that practice.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_01]: Here comes St.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_01]: Donald.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_01]: You know, like, I just, I hope they are on the same pay.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_01]: My concern is not skill right now with a fully healthy secondary.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_01]: It's, are they gonna start the year on the, they're on the road for a lot of the early part of the season, right?
- 17:52[SPEAKER_01]: Which is, in a weird way, might be good for your secondary.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_01]: Because it's actually quiet when you're on defense.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_00]: That's a great call.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_00]: That is a great call.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't know.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's it's and you know, the the three guys they have back there right now, then you know, Malik Mustafa whenever he's cleared.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_00]: I would think he would just immediately slide back into the starting lineup, but
- 18:16[SPEAKER_00]: You know, those three guys, Jai or Brown, Jason Pinnock, and Marky Siegel, when you, you can't talk to them for more than ninety seconds and they bring up the communication aspect of it.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_00]: And so, yeah, that's, that's a great point.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_00]: I think, I'm sorry, you're up to finish that.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no, I just gonna say whenever, whenever you're in the superdom, now the forty-nine are fans who show up to these road games or complaints.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_00]: I'll see you out all week one,
- 18:46[SPEAKER_00]: New Orleans week two, the, the, for the, our fans in, say New Orleans or there will be a lot of them.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_00]: They won't get the memo like, hey, be, be quiet so that the, the forty-nighters defensive backs can communicate with each other.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_01]: I think seagulls out there just flopping.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_01]: I think he goes.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_01]: Barrow's tried to get me to use a bunch of his nicknames for the game.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_01]: We can luckily, I didn't see any of his ideas until after the game, so I could plead ignorance.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_01]: But I think Gus Bradley's probably a, it's hard to know because he's not the defensive coordinator, but it'll be, it'll just be fun to see, you know, Salah alluded a couple of weeks ago in his press conference.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_01]: Not alluded, he just, he got asked, I don't remember how it came up, maybe you do.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, this is not the, this is not the same defense he ran necessarily in the back in the last time he was here.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_01]: Certainly it's far different than what the Seahawks ran originally with this group.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_01]: So it'll just be interesting to see kind of what, what is different, you know?
- 19:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, I think
- 19:56[SPEAKER_00]: We probably won't be able to tell like the differences in the defense, but I think we will be able to tell how he calls a defense, you know, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in,
- 20:20[SPEAKER_00]: because you can just, you know, with their front four of, you know, Bosa, D Ford, Armstrong, Buckner, not a whole lot of gimmicks there.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_00]: This year, I don't know who's going to supply the past rush other than Bosa, you know, I think Bryce Huff looked good in some of his past rush reps on Saturday night, but, you know, it's not
- 20:42[SPEAKER_00]: a defensive, you know, it's not a front four that you just go, whoa, they're just gonna be piling up the sacks this season.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_00]: So they're gonna get more creative.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_00]: You know, there's gonna be more Fred Warner blitzing.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_00]: There's gonna be more nickel blitzing.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_00]: There's gonna be more, you know, D-winner's blitzing.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know how much Nick Mard's gonna play, but he's already shown that he can find the right, you know, he can set up a blitz very well.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if you heard him talking after the game about
- 21:10[SPEAKER_00]: He wanted to kind of set up the pass protection of the Raiders to enable him to find that gap to shoot to make that sack, which he did.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_00]: But I think Robert Saw's going to have to dial up more of that.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_00]: And we've seen it in preseason with Chase Lucas rushing the passer as effectively as he brushes the passer.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_01]: That is the interesting question.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's what everybody's sitting all of us.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_01]: Do you sit in your couch?
- 21:43[SPEAKER_01]: I just blitz blitz more.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I was driving against the chiefs in the Super Bowl, but yeah, I would say that they will though probably if the more you blitz the more big plays you make, but also the more big plays you're susceptible to giving up.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_01]: I think
- 22:05[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I was thinking about it.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_01]: I think you were asked this question that I who's the most important player and you said Bosa and that was my answer to.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_01]: And then I've been thinking about it for the last few days and I'm like, you know, I think it's Christian.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_01]: I think they have to score touchdown.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_01]: I think if you said, what are the two most important things for this team?
- 22:22[SPEAKER_01]: Stopping the run.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_01]: scoring touchdowns in the red zone.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_01]: And obviously, you know, this is a team like you can't like they're both critically important if you're going to be a good football team because you're a top heavy team like you can't you need them all you don't.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_01]: But scoring touchdowns in the red zone is just.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I like if I had to pick one thing that
- 22:47[SPEAKER_01]: might be at the top.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_01]: And I just think Christian is so critical to that.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_01]: We even saw it in this last game where they hit Pierce all three times on that opening drive, but then Brock and Ricky were not on the same page on that third down play, and then here comes Jake Moody.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I guess it's a good sign for the Forty Niners and Christian McCaffrey that we really haven't talked much about Christian McCaffrey this summer.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because he just
- 23:11[SPEAKER_00]: You know, he's just kind of been going along and looking like Christian McAfrey and, you know, he's never some need that, you know, he was going to put in any outing great quotes.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_00]: He's not a great interview.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_00]: There's not going to be a whole lot of stories written about Christian McAfrey, but man, yeah, we saw it last year.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_00]: And the thing about McAfrey is he makes everybody better, you know, he makes
- 23:37[SPEAKER_00]: he opens up the middle of the field for other guys so he'll make
- 23:43[SPEAKER_00]: kiddo better, he'll make the offensive line better because they don't have to hold up and pass protection as long because Brock pretty can just check it down in McAfrey, something he doesn't seem to do at all last year and checking it down to the other running backs.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_00]: And he obviously makes pretty better because instead of just taking a loss or trying to run around and make something out of nothing, it's just a quick and easy way to get the ball out of his hands and still make a positive play.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_00]: Can I ask you a question unrelated to that?
- 24:14[SPEAKER_01]: Sure.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_01]: Because I know we're close to our time, but what do you think they're going to do?
- 24:22[SPEAKER_01]: Because he also helps, you know, the receivers, it's they're complicated.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_01]: Because like, who are you going to throw it to?
- 24:27[SPEAKER_01]: What are you going to throw it to kiddo at McAfrey?
- 24:29[SPEAKER_01]: I know there was the report, Jordan Schultz, I think on Sunday, said the Niners were the other team involved and who want to John Metchi and the Eagles traded for him.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_01]: What do you think they're going to do?
- 24:38[SPEAKER_01]: Do you think they'll do anything at receiver?
- 24:42[SPEAKER_00]: I don't, I don't, I don't think that they all
- 24:47[SPEAKER_00]: I think, you know, there's uncertainty, of course, with the Marcus Robinson.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_00]: How many games will he be suspended?
- 24:55[SPEAKER_00]: We all assume he'll get suspended.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_00]: But when does that suspension kick in and for how many games?
- 25:01[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just kind of using three games as kind of the guideline.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_00]: Did you happen to see, Brandon, are you running pastoralists before the game?
- 25:10[SPEAKER_01]: I did, and I heard you say that he might not be allowed to do that.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I don't think a guy on PUP can practice.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_00]: What if he's just exercising?
- 25:23[SPEAKER_00]: Well, but catching passes from.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_00]: But pre-games not a practice.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I think Lee is just free time.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_00]: My guess would be that the NFL would say, hey, forty minors.
- 25:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know, let's kind of, let's not do that anymore.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_00]: I did see it though to answer your question.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_00]: And he looked, how do he look?
- 25:46[SPEAKER_00]: fine on track I guess I don't I mean good okay I don't so when you think about Robinson will be available some point early in the season yeah I you could be available let's say for the final let's just say the final nine games of the season okay you already have Jennings and Pierceaw
- 26:09[SPEAKER_00]: in what I can walk in, yeah.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_00]: And then the veteran guys, you can have maybe two or more of Russell Gage, Robbie Chosen, Isaiah Hodgins.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_00]: And you can bump those guys up from the practice squad, you know, for I think two games, a piece.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_00]: I think they get by with what they have because if you bring in a guy like Amari Cooper and you're going to have to pay him, whatever, Amari Cooper wants to get paid to sign him.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_00]: You know, later in the season, let's just say for the final ten games of the year, where does Amari Cooper fit it?
- 26:53[SPEAKER_00]: Is he going to get playing time over?
- 26:56[SPEAKER_00]: I, you know,
- 26:58[SPEAKER_00]: So you're going to get playing time over Jennings, a healthy Jennings, assuming he's healthy?
- 27:01[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_00]: Will you get playing time over Pierce saw?
- 27:05[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_00]: And then is Robinson ahead of him on the depth chart as well?
- 27:11[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_00]: That's that's that's what I what do you think?
- 27:18[SPEAKER_01]: No, I mean, it makes a lot of sense.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's easy to say you need to insulate that room, but it costs money to do it.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_01]: I think they're unique in that again.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's McAfrey and Kittle.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_01]: You can throw them the ball aton.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_01]: I think Ricky has looked good the way I put it is.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_01]: If you walked out to practice and I told you that guy got a hundred targets, seventy five balls last year or whatever, you'd believe it.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_01]: So it's been good to see.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_01]: It was good the other day to see his practice translate to that game.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm with you.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_01]: I think the Marcus Robinson's going to be.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to impact.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_01]: He's a big deal.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_01]: He caught six of my balls for the Rams last year.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_01]: He's just a pro.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_00]: And then the other thing is when you think about the eligible's.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_00]: I think there'll be a lot of passing downs, a lot of third and eights.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_00]: where the forty yards basically have six offensive lineman on the field.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_00]: You know, with Luke Ferrell coming in as a second tied in.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_00]: and he's in their solely for pass protection.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_00]: So they'll have, you know, six man max protect.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_00]: And so six man, the quarterback.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_00]: So that leaves four eligible.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_00]: So you really need, you know, another wide receiver when you're four eligible's are going to be McAfrey, Kittle, and then just in two wide receivers.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_01]: And are you optimistic, you know, pre-seasons are filled with, did you see that play from Danny Gray?
- 28:49[SPEAKER_01]: Did you see that catch from Ronnie Bell?
- 28:51[SPEAKER_01]: You've seen it now, you know, the guys who immediately impact, it's a short list receivers who would immediately impact year one for a Kyle Shannon offense.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_01]: Are you on it?
- 29:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know what?
- 29:03[SPEAKER_00]: you find out later that he's on it for necessity.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_00]: He made a lot of mistakes that drove calcium hand crazy his rookie year.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_00]: And then we saw at the beginning of year two when remember he got in the dog house or whatever that was.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_00]: So he was on it by necessity.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_01]: Do you think Jordan Watkins is above or below that line of impact receivers this year?
- 29:27[SPEAKER_00]: He's boy, he's right on that line.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_00]: Because he has a chance, absolutely.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_00]: The thing that we don't find out about and tell later, and this is the behind-the-scenes stuff, is that he comes out and on that first drive against the Broncos number one defense, he catches that pass, goes up and makes the catch on their starting nickel, and stays on his feet, and then gets tackled, fifty yards down the field by Telenovovanga.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, myself included.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_00]: Whoa, that's the play of the game.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_00]: That shows you that Jordan Watkins is the guy he's ready to make an impact.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_00]: And then a short time later, he has a fall start and then he completely runs the wrong pattern and it leads to an interception.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_00]: So that's the kind of stuff that drives coaches.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_00]: Crazy is that, you know, he makes the big splashy play that everybody can see.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_00]: And then, you know, when he leaves a field after the giveaway, everybody's going, what a horrible throw by Mac Jones.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_00]: And then you find out later, that wasn't on Mac Jones.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_00]: That was on the receiver.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, he's just got to tighten those things up.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_00]: And he seems to be
- 30:39[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I think he's ahead of the curve because there's a lot to learn and I think he's done.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's done really well, but he needed this practice time that now he's missing to the the high ankle spray.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_01]: I would say, you know, where my head goes, listen, you talk there was I even initially with Danny Gray, it was clear, okay, he's not going to break the lineup really.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_01]: But he has one plus skill that maybe we can use, which is speed.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_01]: And then he couldn't really even get open, they couldn't connect.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_01]: So I wonder if there's a world where Jordan Wildkins gets on the field once he's healthy, not for, obviously, you know, he's not ahead of most of these veterans on the depth chart quote unquote, but is there a place for him to find spot opportunities?
- 31:25[SPEAKER_00]: Can they afford that?
- 31:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he might be a guy.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_00]: Well, he'll be on their fifty three-man roster.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_00]: There's no question about it.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_00]: The question is, and I think the answer is no, will he be on their forty eight at your suit up for games?
- 31:40[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't think he will be initially, but it will be your time is coming.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_00]: It might be next week, it might be the week after, it might be six weeks down the road, but, and it looks like he's, you know, maybe the right stuff and all that.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_00]: So, I don't think he'll be in my guess is he won't be an impact on fire,
- 32:02[SPEAKER_00]: week one or early in the season, but he'll be needed to be one at some point.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_00]: What I would think would be it's something like early in the season, you know, would you rather have Russell gauge out there, a Robbie chosen or Isaiah Hodgins just because they, those guys have plenty of NFL experience and they can step right in and they won't be asked to play
- 32:26[SPEAKER_00]: Fifty snaps, but maybe if they play, you know, twelve snaps or whatever the case may be and just not make any mental mistakes and do their job and maybe they have, you know, one or two passes come their way on a daily basis on a game by game basis.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_00]: That might be enough to kind of
- 32:45[SPEAKER_00]: You know, kick the can down the road, if you will, until saw their guys come back.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_00]: And to me, the big question really is what's going on with John Jennings.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_00]: You know, how severe is that calf injury?
- 32:57[SPEAKER_00]: Is it severe?
- 32:59[SPEAKER_00]: Are they just taking it easy?
- 33:02[SPEAKER_00]: And knowing that he can when he steps on the field, he'll be ready to go.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_00]: And they just don't want to take any chances of pushing it.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_00]: Or just how much is the contract stuff looming out there as well.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_00]: It just doesn't seem right now that he has a whole lot of leverage because of the calf injury.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, he's under contract for this year too.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_01]: And I heard Cole commissated a neither side has leverage.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_01]: And I think it's
- 33:34[SPEAKER_01]: I think both sides need the other, right, to a point.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you would agree or disagree with that.
- 33:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I have more just because he has to play like he can't not play, right?
- 33:43[SPEAKER_00]: Fortiers have leverage in the sense that he is under contract and so if nothing happens,
- 33:51[SPEAKER_00]: Then he's playing under the forty nine years rules this year.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_00]: The issue then becomes if you don't do anything this year and extend him.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_00]: Then you're probably if he has a good season and he saw it after by any of the other thirty one teams you're going to lose him next.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_00]: You know, next spring, you're going to lose them as a free agent unless, you know, if it doesn't come to the table, but then if you come to the table next year with a big contract, then people will be asking why, why don't you just extend him before last season for a price that's not as much as what you'd have to pay him in the spring of twenty twenty six.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_00]: Do you have any, I have one more question for you.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_00]: Do you have anything else?
- 34:39[SPEAKER_00]: I just, when you were talking about guest Bradley, I, the thought that came into my mind now, because I, whenever I think of guest Bradley, I think of Dallas Flowers, he's open some eyes.
- 34:50[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's a good player.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he was an all rookie returner when he came into the league.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_01]: Thirty-five doesn't look like when he's wearing thirty-five.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_01]: He makes the fifty-three.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_01]: He's got it.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_01]: You can't return kicks weren't thirty-five.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't look, you know what?
- 35:08[SPEAKER_00]: He maybe it's just a result of the Achilles coming back from that he's two years.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to remove against from that now.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't, I don't know.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't look great as a returner.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_00]: I just think he's a good corner back.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_01]: Well, fair point.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_01]: I can't figure out if anybody looks great as a returner with this new kickoff.
- 35:28[SPEAKER_01]: I really, I don't, like someone pointed out, you know, burgers, someone pointed out to me in my last video, Junior Bergen, eight pot returns for touchdowns.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_01]: I've been kind of waiting for him to flash.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_01]: They haven't done that many punts for him to return.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_00]: Now that first one gets the Broncos pretty darn good.
- 35:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he made that guy miss when that guy had the angle on him coming off.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_01]: So you think he's making the team?
- 35:49[SPEAKER_00]: No, I don't.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_00]: No, I just not laughing about that, but I just I just don't know if it makes sense to keep both cowing and burying and I think cowing right now.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, we haven't seen him, but I think he's a year further along than Bergen as a receiver, and they would need that guy to bring some value as a receiver early in the season.
- 36:13[SPEAKER_00]: So I think Bergen is somebody that they can wave at the cut to fifty-three.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think anybody's claiming him, so they can keep him around on the practice one.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_01]: I sidetracked this from your original point, which is Dallas Flowers might be a good corner.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_01]: and it's a good point.
- 36:30[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's sometimes these players come in, especially when they haven't played in a few years and you can't figure out like, is this a real player or is this a
- 36:37[SPEAKER_00]: a seven-year practice squad guy like what is this guy but he was he was trending to be a real play he was he was starting a corner for the cult yeah see a week one starter for the cult and playing very well and you know what back and read some stuff on him and he was having a really good game against the Rams broke up a few passes against a team that offers a lot of challenges for any defense back and then he tours his Achilles and that wiped out the rest of the twenty three season
- 37:04[SPEAKER_00]: last year, you still wasn't right in ends up getting cut.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_00]: And now, you know, like I said, two years you moved from the Achilles and making a good bid for a, for a, for a, for a, for the answer, I'll answer.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, you said you had one last thing.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_00]: One last question.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_01]: Luke Feral has played in eighty games regular season preseason and postseason come on.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it does does this number zero is never scored a touchdown including in the preseason.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_01]: Now.
- 37:35[SPEAKER_01]: When a guy scores a touchdown, like a rookie scores a touchdown in the preseason, it's always a little complicated for the broadcaster because, do you say it's his first career touchdown?
- 37:43[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he's celebrating.
- 37:44[SPEAKER_01]: He's in the end zone in an NFL uniform on an NFL field for the first time in his career.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to want to keep the ball, but it's not a regular season touchdown.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_01]: But Luke Feral, Matt, if he scores a touchdown against the chargers on Saturday, if he plays and scores a touchdown, I get to you'll play against the chargers on Saturday.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_01]: You could unders you would forgive him if he celebrated as if it wasn't regular season.
- 38:10[SPEAKER_00]: So you're projecting out to something that hasn't happened yet, but just in case it does happen.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_01]: I spend so much time before any broadcast preparing for first career catches and first career touch now.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_00]: You could say if this came two weeks later, that would have been his first NFL touchdown.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_01]: I think I'll say it the first time he's ever been in an NFL.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_01]: Like, here's the point.
- 38:36[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to treat it like just a home priest.
- 38:38[SPEAKER_01]: My guess is Luke, like, people will be very happy.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_01]: The screen will show people very excited for Luke Ferrell.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe he's new, so I don't know if his teammates know this.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_01]: He's a really good player in other aspects, right?
- 38:50[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe they all assume he's got a touchdown.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, doesn't have a touchdown.
- 38:53[SPEAKER_01]: Does that have a three season touchdown?
- 38:54[SPEAKER_00]: I might get a lot of football.
- 38:56[SPEAKER_00]: My guess is George Kittle will make everybody aware that that would be the case.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_00]: It would be like you think that they would do like was a Cam Little, the the seventy yard fuel goal.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_00]: You think they would box up the football and the cleats and send it to to Canton.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think this one's going to can, but I do think it's, it might be on, if there's a tight end you Hall of Fame, this would go on the tight end you Hall of Fame.
- 39:25[SPEAKER_00]: It would, it would definitely go to Luke Ferrell's like man cave.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think down.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, I'm just trying, I'm mentally preparing for how to handle, how much excitement to have in that moment.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_00]: I've already, I'm ready on record on this video.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_00]: Guy is saying that Luke Ferrell is basically the forty-and-a-sixth
- 39:45[SPEAKER_00]: offensive lineman and will be their sixth offensive lineman for a lot of passing down plays this season.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_00]: So he's going to get one you think.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_00]: No, like throwing it to try.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he will because I think you're going to get one at all.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_00]: I think he'll just stay in a block.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_00]: What a great trick play though.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_00]: I guess so maybe at some point he probably
- 40:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_00]: We gave defenses if he went out for a pass pattern, defenses would probably be saying, hey, he didn't report in as eligible and the officials will get what he's talking about.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_00]: He's wearing number eight nine eight nine.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't have to report as a, you know what, some lineman.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_01]: I take it back.
- 40:24[SPEAKER_01]: They're definitely not throwing them in the ball in the red zone this week because they're saving that.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_01]: For we now that I think about it.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_01]: Why would you do that now?
- 40:32[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it'd be like throwing a touchdown pass to your left tackle in the preseason.
- 40:35[SPEAKER_01]: No, you save that for week, seventeen.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_01]: Save that for Thanksgiving.
- 40:39[SPEAKER_00]: I think you do it now just so the defense.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 40:43[SPEAKER_00]: The votes, uh, somebody in coverage to him during the regular season.
- 40:47[SPEAKER_00]: That opens things up for Hitler, anybody else.
- 40:50[SPEAKER_01]: Seeing now, if you're not locked into the third quarter of this Saturday night for this moment, you're doing wrong.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_00]: I think, you know what, I think, I think it's time in this video.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_00]: What do you think?
- 41:03[SPEAKER_00]: I think we've reached the end, yes.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, guys, thanks so much.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_00]: Keep up the great work and I'll see you practice this week.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_00]: All right, Matt.
