- 1:00Speaker 1: the greatest thing since road tripping. Bengals fans, they say
- 1:06Speaker 1: you can see just about anything on Bourbon Street in
- 1:08Speaker 1: New Orleans. Many of those things not meant for younger eyes.
- 1:13Speaker 1: But the primary thing I saw on Saturday night were
- 1:16Speaker 1: Bengals fans, hundreds of them, maybe thousands. And if I
- 1:20Speaker 1: would have accepted every offer for a free beer, I
- 1:23Speaker 1: would have looked like Nicholas Cage in leaving Las Vegas.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Many people travel to New Orleans to paint the town red.
- 1:30Speaker 1: This weekend, the Big Easy was painted orange and black.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Now let's get to the radio replays from the Bengals
- 1:38Speaker 1: third win in a row inside the Superdome. Here comes
- 1:42Speaker 1: the punt. Good looking punt tailor back pedaling and he
- 1:46Speaker 1: will start from the eight yard line, straight ahead to
- 1:48Speaker 1: the fifty to twenty sideline. Twenty five fumbles the ball
- 1:51Speaker 1: and the Saint Street cover at the Bengals thirty two
- 1:54Speaker 1: yard lines. Dalkon ready for the shotgun snap. Andy drops
- 1:57Speaker 1: back five steps, throws it has caught at the three.
- 2:00Speaker 1: It's a touchdown. Trey Kuan Smith cutting toward the goalpost
- 2:05Speaker 1: to make the catch and the Saints are on the scoreboard.
- 2:08Speaker 1: First third and goal from the nine. Joe back to throw,
- 2:11Speaker 1: pump fakes, throw short, get it by mixing at the five,
- 2:14Speaker 1: charges into the end zone, touchdown, Bengals a nine yard
- 2:19Speaker 1: strike on third down and goal and the Bengals are
- 2:23Speaker 1: a pat away from tying the game. Dalton is under center,
- 2:27Speaker 1: Alvin Kamara back in at running back receiver goes in
- 2:30Speaker 1: jet motion. They give it to him. Nobody is there
- 2:33Speaker 1: for cincinnt Shaheed to the twenty fifteen ten five touchdown. Wow,
- 2:39Speaker 1: single high safety blitz coming. Burrow trying to step away
- 2:42Speaker 1: from the rush. He does it runs up the middle
- 2:44Speaker 1: of the field of the ten five touchdown. As Joe
- 2:48Speaker 1: Burrow crosses the goal line with the ball in his
- 2:51Speaker 1: left hand fully extended, goes into the back corner of
- 2:54Speaker 1: the end zone and spins it like he's rolling dice.
- 2:58Speaker 1: There is nobody. No body from the middle of the
- 3:01Speaker 1: football field to the left sideline, I mean everybody is.
- 3:05Speaker 1: It's like the fuel was tilted to its right and
- 3:07Speaker 1: Joe Burrow rant left. All buy is lonesome. Burrow catches,
- 3:11Speaker 1: looks fire, Chase touchdown, ran a skinny post. Burrow threw
- 3:18Speaker 1: a bullet right on the money. Chase does the gritty Huber,
- 3:23Speaker 1: extends the hands, catches, puts the ball down. The kick
- 3:25Speaker 1: is on its way and it is good. Yeah. As
- 3:30Speaker 1: the Bengals pull within two with three minutes and forty
- 3:33Speaker 1: one seconds to go. If you include the playoffs, Evan
- 3:37Speaker 1: McPherson is a ridiculous sixteen of eighteen on kicks of
- 3:43Speaker 1: fifty plus yards. Dalton looks over the defense, catches the
- 3:47Speaker 1: shotgun snap. He's straight back to throw its hit from behind.
- 3:51Speaker 1: The ball is incomplete. The Bengals will scoop it up
- 3:54Speaker 1: and run it back, but it's an incomplete pass. Trey
- 3:57Speaker 1: Hendrickson got to the arm of Andy Dalton and the
- 4:00Speaker 1: Saints will have to punt it away, burrowing the gun.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Mixing to his left. Joe drops back to throw his pass,
- 4:07Speaker 1: caught by Chase at the fifty runs through an arm
- 4:09Speaker 1: Tag down the side. Baby, he's gonna take it to
- 4:12Speaker 1: the house. Jamar Chase a sixty yard touchdown and the
- 4:17Speaker 1: Bengals have the lead with one fifty seven to go. Unbelievable.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Dalton ready for the shotgun snap thirty three seconds to go.
- 4:27Speaker 1: He's back to pass. He's gonna fling it high and
- 4:30Speaker 1: deep down the sideline. It is knocked away out of bounds.
- 4:34Speaker 1: No penalty flag down? Was that Dax Hill sprinting over
- 4:38Speaker 1: to knocked that out of bounds. The Bengals rookie running
- 4:43Speaker 1: toward the sideline and getting a hand on it, and
- 4:45Speaker 1: that is Coffin nail Bam. The final score Cincinnati thirty,
- 4:52Speaker 1: New Orleans twenty six. For the past forty eight years,
- 4:55Speaker 1: the Superdome has been the site of many of America's
- 4:58Speaker 1: biggest sporting events, including seven Super Bowls, five final fours,
- 5:02Speaker 1: Muhammad Ali's last professional win, and numerous college football games
- 5:07Speaker 1: that have decided the national championship, including a game in
- 5:12Speaker 1: January of twenty twenty that featured one of the most
- 5:14Speaker 1: memorable performances in college football history, as Joe Burrow through
- 5:19Speaker 1: for four hundred sixty three yards and five touchdowns and
- 5:23Speaker 1: ran for fifty eight yards in another score in LSU's
- 5:26Speaker 1: forty two to twenty five win over Clemson. His favorite
- 5:30Speaker 1: target in that game was Jamar Chase, who caught nine
- 5:33Speaker 1: passes for two hundred twenty one yards and two t d's.
- 5:37Speaker 1: So it was certainly fitting on Sunday that Burrow walked
- 5:40Speaker 1: into the Superdome wearing the jersey that Jamar wore in
- 5:43Speaker 1: that game. Rarely do games follow the Hollywood script, but
- 5:48Speaker 1: this one did to a t as burrow sixty yard
- 5:51Speaker 1: touchdown pass to Chase won the game with less than
- 5:54Speaker 1: two minutes to go. Dave Lapham caught up with Burrow
- 5:57Speaker 1: in the locker room. Joe second half eleven for twelve,
- 6:02Speaker 1: one hundred and seventy nine yards to touchdowns. What happened
- 6:05Speaker 1: on the incompletion? Just kidding? I mean today it was
- 6:09Speaker 1: just a great day. We had to fight back from
- 6:12Speaker 1: adversity all day. Defense got to stop when we needed to.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Offensive line played great. You know, we got the ball
- 6:18Speaker 1: out quickly. Receiver has played great. We're gonna build off
- 6:21Speaker 1: of this win and keep it going. You wore at
- 6:23Speaker 1: Jamar Chase's LSU jersey. It's almost like a precursor to
- 6:27Speaker 1: what was gonna take place. You and Jamar hook up
- 6:30Speaker 1: for I think seven catches. He had one hundred and
- 6:32Speaker 1: thirty five yards, a couple of touchdowns. Your numbers were staggering.
- 6:35Speaker 1: What is it about New Orleans and you guys, I
- 6:38Speaker 1: don't know. It's something about this state that just you know,
- 6:40Speaker 1: brings the best out of us. Great fans. You know,
- 6:43Speaker 1: it's great to come back and he's you know, experienced
- 6:46Speaker 1: the atmosphere of a football game in Louisiana. This a
- 6:50Speaker 1: great day for us. What about your legs on the scramble.
- 6:54Speaker 1: I mean, I've never seen like two thirds of the
- 6:57Speaker 1: football field cleared out and left side you and Hurst
- 7:00Speaker 1: on a little drag and it took the only defender
- 7:02Speaker 1: or what I mean from the right hash mark to
- 7:04Speaker 1: the left sideline. It was like unbelievable. Yeah, they brought
- 7:08Speaker 1: a saw pressure. It was a it was a you know,
- 7:10Speaker 1: a tough pressure look. And Elsie was able to get
- 7:13Speaker 1: out to the nickel blitzing late took it took enough
- 7:15Speaker 1: off of his I could stop up and that go
- 7:17Speaker 1: make a play. So your red zone offense was unbelievable.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Every time you get in the red zone, you score
- 7:23Speaker 1: a touchdown. They got in the red zone four times,
- 7:26Speaker 1: had to settle for four field goals. That was a
- 7:27Speaker 1: ball game, wasn't it. That's the ball game. You know
- 7:30Speaker 1: if you if you get down there and score score touchdowns,
- 7:33Speaker 1: you're usually gonna be able to pull out a W.
- 7:36Speaker 1: And if your defense holds into field goals, that's a
- 7:38Speaker 1: recipe for success. No turnovers by the offense, no takeaways
- 7:42Speaker 1: by the defense, but to turnover unfortunately on special teams,
- 7:45Speaker 1: so your minus won and when you get behind because
- 7:47Speaker 1: of that turnover, it just seemed like it took a while.
- 7:50Speaker 1: You know, I mean, getting behind by a touchdown on
- 7:52Speaker 1: the road is a tough deal, isn't it. Yeah, they're
- 7:54Speaker 1: a good defense, They're really good defense, and so you know,
- 7:56Speaker 1: we mean a second half, we're able to turn it on.
- 8:00Speaker 1: You gotta give credits to them in our first quarter,
- 8:01Speaker 1: but I think second quarter on we were lights out.
- 8:03Speaker 1: You were lights out the whole game, Joe Burrow Man,
- 8:06Speaker 1: I'll tell you, when you have to ros to the occasion,
- 8:09Speaker 1: you rise above the occasion. Man, appreciate it. Arrow completed
- 8:13Speaker 1: seventy six percent of his passes and through for exactly
- 8:17Speaker 1: three hundred yards, with three touchdowns, no picks, a passer
- 8:20Speaker 1: rating of one twenty six, and a touchdown run. For
- 8:23Speaker 1: good measure, He's accounted for ten touchdowns the last two
- 8:28Speaker 1: times he's played in the Superdome. Jamar Chase finished with
- 8:31Speaker 1: seven catches for one hundred and thirty two yards and
- 8:34Speaker 1: two tds, and I spent a couple of minutes with him, Jamark,
- 8:38Speaker 1: can you describe just how meaningful it was for you
- 8:41Speaker 1: to have the kind of game you did today and
- 8:43Speaker 1: score the game winning touchdown with less than two minutes
- 8:45Speaker 1: to go was a good opportunity to play back at home,
- 8:49Speaker 1: playing for to my family and fans and just put
- 8:51Speaker 1: on a show. So when that pass comes your way,
- 8:54Speaker 1: I think most of us are thinking, all right, that's
- 8:56Speaker 1: eight to twelve yards in a first down. You turned
- 8:59Speaker 1: it into a six styard house called describe it just
- 9:03Speaker 1: making somebody missing, you know, getting a lot of space
- 9:05Speaker 1: on the field is just feel recognition of me and
- 9:08Speaker 1: just you know, making a play on my feet and
- 9:10Speaker 1: being a playmaker. What did Joe Burrow walking into the
- 9:14Speaker 1: stadium wearing your national championship jersey? Meaning today they gave
- 9:18Speaker 1: us the energy as a as an offense, the end
- 9:20Speaker 1: to me and to him, I felt like, just coming
- 9:23Speaker 1: into this game, you know, we had to make a
- 9:24Speaker 1: statement on who we are and where we need to
- 9:27Speaker 1: get back to. Did he request to wear it? Yes?
- 9:30Speaker 1: He did. Yeah, when did that happen? Um? Day before
- 9:33Speaker 1: we left, you know he texts. Actually the night before
- 9:36Speaker 1: we left, he texts my phone was like do you
- 9:38Speaker 1: have any jersey? And the day we was leaving, you know,
- 9:40Speaker 1: he I say, yeah, you know I had to take
- 9:42Speaker 1: it off my wall, but yeah, yeah I found up
- 9:44Speaker 1: the day Were you surprised What was your reaction? Um No,
- 9:47Speaker 1: I wasn't. I just didn't know what he was gonna
- 9:48Speaker 1: do it. I wasn't too surprised. I just ain't know
- 9:50Speaker 1: what he's gonna do it seven catches for you, six
- 9:53Speaker 1: for te six for Tyler. That the kind of way
- 9:56Speaker 1: it's supposed to look. That's how it needs to be.
- 9:58Speaker 1: God damn, I didn't know that. I wish i'd told
- 10:00Speaker 1: me that there. Well, what was what was uh? TB stats?
- 10:05Speaker 1: What was TB? They both had six catches for about
- 10:08Speaker 1: sixty some yards and you had seven for like a
- 10:10Speaker 1: buck thirty. I'm bad. It's not bad. Actually I need that.
- 10:13Speaker 1: So you guys were kind of swimming uphill all day.
- 10:16Speaker 1: The Saints were up by ten, they were up by nine,
- 10:18Speaker 1: then they're up by five. How does it feel when
- 10:20Speaker 1: you're able to overcome all of that and win? It
- 10:23Speaker 1: felt good, man. Just you know, we was gonna dog
- 10:26Speaker 1: fight the whole game, and you know we had We
- 10:28Speaker 1: knew he was gonna be in a dog fighting. You know,
- 10:30Speaker 1: we we came out hand and and fought and the
- 10:33Speaker 1: music was pumping. Everybody was psyched in here as this
- 10:35Speaker 1: kind of a big emotional lift considering you have three
- 10:38Speaker 1: losses that ended on field goals by the other team. No,
- 10:41Speaker 1: we can't were about that right there. We gotta we
- 10:43Speaker 1: gotta get on this run and execute and you know
- 10:46Speaker 1: be offense that we know we are. So we gotta
- 10:49Speaker 1: put those losses behind us. And where about this win
- 10:51Speaker 1: we have and next week coming up? Any contact after
- 10:54Speaker 1: the game with the many friends and family that we're
- 10:56Speaker 1: in the stands about to go to them right now,
- 10:57Speaker 1: I'm gotta go right now, So I need to you go, sir.
- 11:01Speaker 1: That's tomar Chase. I also spoke to Joe Mixon after
- 11:05Speaker 1: the game. Before we get to that, here's a reminder
- 11:08Speaker 1: that the Bengals Booth podcast is brought to you by
- 11:10Speaker 1: pay Corps. More than twenty nine thousand customers trust paycres
- 11:14Speaker 1: to help them recruit, pay, engage, and retain employees. Learn
- 11:19Speaker 1: more at paycorp dot com. Joe Mixon only at eight
- 11:23Speaker 1: carries on Sunday, but he averaged five point six yards
- 11:26Speaker 1: per attempt for the second game in a row. He
- 11:29Speaker 1: also caught four passes, including his first TD catch this year.
- 11:35Speaker 1: We are in the locker room with Joe Mixon. The
- 11:37Speaker 1: music is pumping. Everybody's got a big grin. Describe the
- 11:41Speaker 1: satisfaction of coming from behind all day and ultimately winning
- 11:44Speaker 1: this game. Yeah. Man, you know when a defense I
- 11:48Speaker 1: needed to step up. They made a hell of a
- 11:50Speaker 1: stop our offense. We knew a week went out there again,
- 11:53Speaker 1: we knew we was gonna come through and deliver, and
- 11:56Speaker 1: we we delivered in a measure way. You know, I'm
- 11:59Speaker 1: very excited for you know, the guys. We came through
- 12:01Speaker 1: and most importantly bring home to win. So as long
- 12:04Speaker 1: as we keep on building, you know, taking it one
- 12:06Speaker 1: day at a time and you know, keep dishing off
- 12:09Speaker 1: of what the defense gives us, I think will be
- 12:11Speaker 1: a hell of a football team, especially playing complimentary football
- 12:15Speaker 1: with the run in the past and keeping the defense
- 12:17Speaker 1: balance or you know, us being balanced and keeping the
- 12:19Speaker 1: defense honest. Homecomings are special. How cool was it to
- 12:23Speaker 1: see Jamar half the game he had and the game
- 12:26Speaker 1: winning touchdown on that sixty yard play with less than
- 12:29Speaker 1: two minutes to go. Yeah, man, I was a hell
- 12:31Speaker 1: of a play. He came through and deliver. I remember,
- 12:35Speaker 1: you know, talking to him on a sideline like broth,
- 12:37Speaker 1: like it's gonna come. I'm telling you, like and literally
- 12:39Speaker 1: everything I said happened. I was like, broth you get
- 12:42Speaker 1: a first down, I'm like, bro flex like show ya, grill,
- 12:45Speaker 1: do your name, bro, Like this shit gonna come to you.
- 12:48Speaker 1: And he was like all right, like and I'm lik
- 12:50Speaker 1: And after that, I'm like, the big one gonna come.
- 12:52Speaker 1: And literally that's exactly what happened. He got a big,
- 12:54Speaker 1: crucial first down for about like I want to say,
- 12:57Speaker 1: like eighteen yards or thirteen and all of a sad
- 13:00Speaker 1: and he ended up coming with a big one. So
- 13:02Speaker 1: I thought he did a hell of a job, you know,
- 13:03Speaker 1: staying focus and me trying to keep him on his game,
- 13:06Speaker 1: and uh, when when we needed the most, he delivered. So,
- 13:10Speaker 1: like I said, it's a great feeling, man, and I'm
- 13:11Speaker 1: happy for him. What kinds of things are being set
- 13:14Speaker 1: on the sideline when you guys work down by ten,
- 13:17Speaker 1: down by nine, had to keep trying to come back. Um,
- 13:21Speaker 1: you know, just don't flinch, keep on going, you know
- 13:23Speaker 1: what I'm saying. We were in the game and we
- 13:25Speaker 1: ain't gonna never give up on each other, you know
- 13:27Speaker 1: what I'm saying. So everybody stayed true to the game plan.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Everybody was executing most importantly, and um, like I said,
- 13:34Speaker 1: we can't through and deliver. So it's a great feeling.
- 13:36Speaker 1: You know, the uh steal one from away team and
- 13:38Speaker 1: you know, take one to the crib. So we're gonna
- 13:41Speaker 1: enjoy this win, get back to work on Monday, and
- 13:43Speaker 1: uh get ready for Atlema. There always a lot of
- 13:45Speaker 1: heroes in a win. Dax Hill winds up making the
- 13:48Speaker 1: final play defensively, kind of his first big play as
- 13:51Speaker 1: a rookie. Yeah, he Uh, his time gonna come. He's
- 13:54Speaker 1: been patient. Um, he's been you know, doing all the
- 13:57Speaker 1: things that he needs to do as a rookie. And
- 14:00Speaker 1: you know, I'm excited for him. I'm glad you made
- 14:01Speaker 1: that played. I was huge for him, and like I said, man,
- 14:04Speaker 1: I'm just happy that we came came out with the victory.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Here's one more one on one interview as Laps spend
- 14:11Speaker 1: two and a half minutes with Zach Taylor after the win.
- 14:14Speaker 1: I'm really proud of these guys for just hanging in
- 14:17Speaker 1: because I would say that it felt like they had
- 14:19Speaker 1: a lot of momentum for big corse of the game
- 14:21Speaker 1: when they were chewing up the clock in their possessions.
- 14:23Speaker 1: It wasn't so much touch scorn touchdown as it was
- 14:25Speaker 1: just the time of possession felt like it was getting
- 14:28Speaker 1: away from us, especially there at the end of the
- 14:29Speaker 1: half at the beginning of the third quarter. Soever guys,
- 14:32Speaker 1: just to show that kind of resiliency, our depth had
- 14:34Speaker 1: to step up, because we had some guys go down
- 14:36Speaker 1: to that game, and everyone did and found a way
- 14:38Speaker 1: to get us a win. Like you said, you start thinking,
- 14:42Speaker 1: for how many possessions do we have? The way they
- 14:44Speaker 1: were taking seven and a half minutes on every possession,
- 14:46Speaker 1: and you guys scored so quickly. I mean, it was amazing.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Or even stepped up on that last drive and got
- 14:52Speaker 1: that second to last drive. We got that stop because
- 14:54Speaker 1: that was the battle you were fighting. When we kicked
- 14:56Speaker 1: to the field goal to go down two, I think
- 14:58Speaker 1: it was that was the challenge, right there was how
- 15:02Speaker 1: much time were we going to have left? Because they
- 15:03Speaker 1: were doing a good job taking up the clock, and
- 15:05Speaker 1: even though we weren't getting them up points necessary in
- 15:06Speaker 1: every drive, it was you know, there was a it
- 15:09Speaker 1: was a possession battle there. So unfortunately even stepped up
- 15:12Speaker 1: and made a tough kick, and then our defense made
- 15:15Speaker 1: a stop and got us the ball back and we
- 15:16Speaker 1: were able to score. But we needed o guys to
- 15:18Speaker 1: step up in those last moments, and they did. Joe
- 15:20Speaker 1: in the second half coach eleven for twelve one hundred
- 15:23Speaker 1: and seventy nine yards and two touchdowns. I was kidding
- 15:25Speaker 1: them when we talked earlier what happened on the incompletion.
- 15:28Speaker 1: I mean, that's just unbelievable. Yeah, I got to think
- 15:31Speaker 1: through what the incompletion was, you know, but you know,
- 15:35Speaker 1: he just really got hot and you could feel it.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Once we kind of got into the rhythm of the
- 15:39Speaker 1: game and felt like we had a good understanding the
- 15:41Speaker 1: structure they were playing. They made some adjustments and they
- 15:43Speaker 1: made things challenging for us. But those were the moments
- 15:45Speaker 1: our guys stepped up. Maybe when the play call wasn't perfect,
- 15:48Speaker 1: Joe found a way to find guys that had the
- 15:50Speaker 1: best matchups, and those guys stepped up and made plays.
- 15:53Speaker 1: What is it about LSU and you know New Orleans
- 15:58Speaker 1: and I mean chasing Bar When they get on that stage,
- 16:02Speaker 1: they're stars, There's no doubt about it. You know, when
- 16:05Speaker 1: these moments get big, we need our big, our big
- 16:07Speaker 1: time players to step up, and that's what they did today,
- 16:09Speaker 1: and you just got to continue to give them opportunities
- 16:11Speaker 1: to do that, and I thought today we did and
- 16:14Speaker 1: they took advantage of it, and you know, so it's
- 16:17Speaker 1: it's a proud of those guys the way they stepped
- 16:18Speaker 1: up and helped us win this game. Coach, congratulations, big win.
- 16:22Speaker 1: This is one of those kind of victories that you
- 16:24Speaker 1: know as you prepare to go one and all again
- 16:27Speaker 1: next week. It's a good way to start the week. Yeah,
- 16:29Speaker 1: we needed this momentum going into a home game next
- 16:31Speaker 1: week against Atlanta. I think it's Atlanta. Yes, I'm not sure.
- 16:36Speaker 1: I hear you. It's gonna be an easy flight, nice
- 16:39Speaker 1: flight home, isn't it. Yeah, Yes, Atlanta is up next.
- 16:44Speaker 1: The Falcons are three and three after a fourteen point
- 16:48Speaker 1: win over San Francisco. Cincinnati is a very early six
- 16:52Speaker 1: and a half point favorite. The Bengal Smooth Podcast is
- 16:56Speaker 1: presented by Alta Fiber future proof fiber Internet capable of
- 17:00Speaker 1: delivering multi gigabit speeds designed to take your home, business,
- 17:04Speaker 1: and community to a new level. Elevates your connection with
- 17:08Speaker 1: all too fiber. Now, time for the radio guys recap lap.
- 17:13Speaker 1: Lou Anarrumo says, all the time, don't ask me about yards,
- 17:16Speaker 1: ask me about points. The Bengals defense bent but didn't break,
- 17:22Speaker 1: and that helped the offense come back and win the game.
- 17:24Speaker 1: It was the ultimate of it. You know, on four
- 17:26Speaker 1: possessions in the red zone, you're talking about an offense
- 17:28Speaker 1: that have converted eighty percent of the time touchdowns going
- 17:31Speaker 1: into the game, second best in the league. And to
- 17:33Speaker 1: hold them four times with just a field goal, that
- 17:36Speaker 1: was the game. As it turned out, that was the
- 17:39Speaker 1: probably most significant single thing that you could point to
- 17:42Speaker 1: and say that kind of swung the football game In retrospect?
- 17:46Speaker 1: Was there anything more predictable than Jamaar Chase would come
- 17:49Speaker 1: back to this place and do something spectacular? He and Borrow,
- 17:52Speaker 1: I mean it's like New Orleans, Louisiana Special Stage. They
- 17:57Speaker 1: step up big. I mean they're bigger than big, those
- 18:00Speaker 1: two are. It's just it's just remarkable. And I think
- 18:03Speaker 1: it started with Joe Warren Jamar's jersey. You know, it's
- 18:05Speaker 1: kind of the Calmer started. It was kind of like
- 18:08Speaker 1: a precursor of things to come, and U and the
- 18:10Speaker 1: two of them just hooked up again. I mean, Borrows
- 18:14Speaker 1: just thinks he sees and the way he sees him
- 18:18Speaker 1: and Jamar's just a grown man. There's no two ways
- 18:20Speaker 1: about that. They had balanced today. I mean, obviously in
- 18:24Speaker 1: terms of passing and running. It was heavily tilted toward passing,
- 18:28Speaker 1: but balanced in the sense that Chase, Higgins and Boyd
- 18:32Speaker 1: were all pretty similar in terms of targets in production. Yeah,
- 18:36Speaker 1: for the two of them to have six catches, you know,
- 18:39Speaker 1: meaning Boyd and Higgins and then Chase having seven, that's
- 18:43Speaker 1: a good sign. Plus, I mean, the game itself is
- 18:48Speaker 1: it unfolded. The Bengals felt like they couldn't run the
- 18:52Speaker 1: ball that much. They ranted efficiently. They only ran it
- 18:55Speaker 1: fifteen times, but average almost six yards to carry. So
- 18:58Speaker 1: it wasn't like they weren't, you know, getting good things
- 19:00Speaker 1: out of the running game, which I think is another
- 19:02Speaker 1: good sign. A couple of weeks in a row, I
- 19:04Speaker 1: think there are you know, holes for Joe Mixon to
- 19:06Speaker 1: take advantage of and get past the line of scrimmage
- 19:08Speaker 1: with some authority. So I think that's all trending in
- 19:11Speaker 1: a in a good direction as well. But you're right,
- 19:14Speaker 1: I mean, it's like when the Big Three is on,
- 19:19Speaker 1: what do you do? How do you do it? I mean,
- 19:21Speaker 1: it's just like the Saints with all the running backs.
- 19:23Speaker 1: There were times out there they had three legitimate running backs.
- 19:26Speaker 1: It's like you mentioned it. During the games, it's like
- 19:28Speaker 1: watching a college football running game. Who do you? How
- 19:31Speaker 1: do you what do you defend? How do you defend it?
- 19:33Speaker 1: When you have three receivers, the talent level that these
- 19:36Speaker 1: guys have, how do you defend it? What do you do?
- 19:38Speaker 1: Particularly when you don't see him that often? The Saints
- 19:41Speaker 1: just don't see it that often when the Bengals don't
- 19:43Speaker 1: see the type of offense the Saints draw out there
- 19:46Speaker 1: with the Swiss Army knife hill either. I'm sure you've
- 19:49Speaker 1: played in games like this where you're swimming uphill all day,
- 19:53Speaker 1: you're behind. Every time you get closer, the other team
- 19:55Speaker 1: scores again, and then you manage to pull it out
- 19:58Speaker 1: in the end. What kind of emotional lifty again from
- 20:01Speaker 1: a game like that. Yeah, it's a big lift, you know.
- 20:03Speaker 1: It's like, offensively, took care of the ball, didn't turn
- 20:06Speaker 1: it over. Defensively, didn't get any takeaways. But the turnover
- 20:09Speaker 1: occurs on special team short field. You're down seven, and
- 20:12Speaker 1: then it's like to get over the hump. It takes
- 20:15Speaker 1: a while, you know, get over get it and you
- 20:16Speaker 1: think you're getting over the they score again, you know,
- 20:18Speaker 1: so it's uh. And like we were talking about during
- 20:21Speaker 1: the course of the game, the one thing about the
- 20:24Speaker 1: field goal drives where they were taking seven and a
- 20:26Speaker 1: half minutes, so every one of them was It wasn't like,
- 20:28Speaker 1: you know, just like a four play drive and stead
- 20:31Speaker 1: over a field goal. They were going double digit plays
- 20:34Speaker 1: and the drives and melting the clock. So you know
- 20:36Speaker 1: that that had to be a little bit disconcerting as
- 20:38Speaker 1: well as you're trying to make a comeback. But when
- 20:41Speaker 1: you do and you win a game like this, man,
- 20:43Speaker 1: there's some there's some carry over. I mean it is
- 20:46Speaker 1: bouncing your step. You know, practice is easier next week.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Now you've got to go string a few together, don't
- 20:52Speaker 1: don't look ahead, but maybe three more one of oz
- 20:54Speaker 1: and get into the bye week with a six and
- 20:56Speaker 1: three record. Then you think, no, no, you know, we
- 20:59Speaker 1: have eight games left, are tough, but we got six wins.
- 21:02Speaker 1: We should be able to at least split going down
- 21:03Speaker 1: the stretch, So that would be a goal. I think
- 21:06Speaker 1: I think we all felt the offense was getting closer,
- 21:09Speaker 1: and now they put thirty points out on the board.
- 21:11Speaker 1: I think it's the first time in about ten games
- 21:13Speaker 1: going back to last year. That's the proof we're looking
- 21:16Speaker 1: for that this offense is starting to display the kind
- 21:19Speaker 1: of production they're capable of coming up with. Yeah, I agree,
- 21:23Speaker 1: you know, and again because when they got in the
- 21:25Speaker 1: red zone, they scored seven. You know, they didn't settle
- 21:28Speaker 1: for three. When you look at it, the Saints scored
- 21:32Speaker 1: twenty six points with four red zone field goals, you know,
- 21:35Speaker 1: I mean, so there was some some productivity there to
- 21:38Speaker 1: a point, and then they just couldn't couldn't finish, couldn't finalize.
- 21:41Speaker 1: I mean, you leave four points on the field in
- 21:44Speaker 1: four possessions like that, you leave sixteen points on the field.
- 21:47Speaker 1: That's that's a that's a tough, tough dynamic. Yet they
- 21:50Speaker 1: still twenty six points for them. Was there high on
- 21:52Speaker 1: the season you know as well? So it was. It
- 21:55Speaker 1: was a very entertaining, interesting football game, just like every
- 21:58Speaker 1: game is in the National Football League. This league is sick.
- 22:02Speaker 1: I mean, I don't care who you are. As the
- 22:04Speaker 1: old saying goes, anybody can beat anybody, and it is true.
- 22:08Speaker 1: There was another example of it in league wide today.
- 22:12Speaker 1: Can't take anything for granted. As soon as you start
- 22:14Speaker 1: to get full of yourself, you get knocking your keyston
- 22:16Speaker 1: the candle get empty quick man. Sick in a good way. Yeah,
- 22:20Speaker 1: sick in a good exactly, just like just riveting. You
- 22:23Speaker 1: know you just oh man, what's gonna happen? I never
- 22:26Speaker 1: expected that to happen. Expect the unexpected. That's in the NFL.
- 22:30Speaker 1: Elsewhere in the AFC North on Sunday, the Ravens blew
- 22:33Speaker 1: a double digit lead for the third time this year.
- 22:37Speaker 1: They led the Giants twenty to ten in the fourth quarter,
- 22:39Speaker 1: but lost the game twenty four to twenty. The Browns
- 22:43Speaker 1: were blown out at home by the Patriots thirty eight
- 22:45Speaker 1: to fifteen, and the Steelers upset Tom Brady and the
- 22:49Speaker 1: Bucks twenty to eighteen. As a result, the Bengals and
- 22:53Speaker 1: Ravens are tied for first at three and three. The
- 22:56Speaker 1: Browns and Steelers are a game back at two and four.
- 22:59Speaker 1: The Bank Smooth Podcast is presented by Kettering Health, the

- 23:20Speaker 1: time for this week's Fun Facts interview, where we get
- 23:23Speaker 1: to know the person under the pads. Time for some
- 23:27Speaker 1: fun facts. The Bengals offensive lineman Ted carras from Indianapolis,
- 23:31Speaker 1: the so called racing capital of the world. Did you
- 23:34Speaker 1: go to the track? Did you go to the Indy
- 23:36Speaker 1: five hundred or the Brickyard four hundred when you're young?
- 23:38Speaker 1: I did. I grew up going. I think the last
- 23:40Speaker 1: time I went was sophomore year of college. I kind
- 23:43Speaker 1: of banned myself after that. It's a pretty wild event.
- 23:45Speaker 1: So you know, next time I go will probably going
- 23:47Speaker 1: into the into the box. The Koke Lauden snake pit,
- 23:51Speaker 1: you know, aren't my style anymore. You banned yourself. I
- 23:54Speaker 1: like that. The Kennedy's art of politics as the caresses
- 23:59Speaker 1: are to football. Your family legacy in this sport is crazy.
- 24:04Speaker 1: Your dad has an NFL Championship ring, your grandfather won
- 24:07Speaker 1: an NFL Championship ring. You've got a couple. Your great
- 24:10Speaker 1: uncle Alex is in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
- 24:13Speaker 1: What are some of your earliest memories of being introduced
- 24:16Speaker 1: to football? Well, that's high praise to Kennedy's I think
- 24:19Speaker 1: we have less scandals. We're not scandal free, but we
- 24:23Speaker 1: had well, but earliest memories in football. You know, my
- 24:26Speaker 1: father was a coach his whole career, so he's still coaching.
- 24:31Speaker 1: So I think going on going to games Saturday, Saturday
- 24:34Speaker 1: afternoon game, small college football in the Midwest, you know,
- 24:37Speaker 1: those are some of my fondest memories. Traveling on the
- 24:39Speaker 1: bus with the teams. I think the longest bus ride
- 24:42Speaker 1: I went on was to Millsaps in Mississippi, so a
- 24:47Speaker 1: lot of fun was that. I think it was like
- 24:50Speaker 1: twelve hours. Yeah, it was a lot of fun. Though
- 24:52Speaker 1: we got to win. So, you know, grew up all
- 24:55Speaker 1: around small college football, you know, with you know, a
- 24:59Speaker 1: lot of guys that I'm obviously my dad playing the
- 25:01Speaker 1: NFL briefly, but my grandfather told a lot of stories.
- 25:04Speaker 1: So it's been you know, my whole life's been been football,
- 25:07Speaker 1: and it's I'm very grateful to be twenty nine and
- 25:09Speaker 1: still still playing the game. So all little kids in
- 25:12Speaker 1: elementary school get the what do you want to be
- 25:14Speaker 1: when you grow up? Question? Was it always pro football
- 25:17Speaker 1: player for you? Yes? You know I was never and
- 25:21Speaker 1: I really even playing other sports, I didn't have the
- 25:24Speaker 1: same interest level. I wish now looking back, I wish
- 25:28Speaker 1: I probably would have played more sports going up, but
- 25:30Speaker 1: I didn't. I didn't like them really. I just wanted
- 25:32Speaker 1: to play football and be around the game. So um yeah,
- 25:36Speaker 1: I was always this was my goal. I think my
- 25:38Speaker 1: goal mostly was to play college football, to play in
- 25:41Speaker 1: the Big Ten, and then always you know, had the
- 25:46Speaker 1: NFL in the back of my mind. But the first
- 25:48Speaker 1: goal was to get a full scholarship to play football.
- 25:50Speaker 1: That's what I thought about most of my childhood. Were
- 25:53Speaker 1: visiting the Ted karras. So your great uncle Alex, as
- 25:56Speaker 1: I mentioned, is in the Pro Football Hall of Fame,
- 25:58Speaker 1: but he's probably as well. Remember for his acting career,
- 26:01Speaker 1: he famously punched a horse as the character Mongo in
- 26:05Speaker 1: Blazing Saddles. He was Emmanuel Lewis's godfather and the hit
- 26:08Speaker 1: TV show Webster for six years. Did you get to
- 26:11Speaker 1: know him and have you seen much of his work?
- 26:15Speaker 1: I've seen most of his work. There's also several books
- 26:18Speaker 1: about his life that he wrote. Or George Plimpton, his
- 26:21Speaker 1: lifelong friend, good author. Paper Lion was a movie in
- 26:24Speaker 1: a book. Pretty cool actually, they and I think it
- 26:26Speaker 1: was the sixty three season now sixty four season. He
- 26:31Speaker 1: got them to He got the Lions to let his
- 26:33Speaker 1: friend be the four string quarterback for the whole year
- 26:36Speaker 1: and then write about it. So that's probably my favorite
- 26:38Speaker 1: of his work. You know, I didn't know him that well.
- 26:42Speaker 1: He lived in Malibu and Hollywood Hills. So we visited
- 26:46Speaker 1: UCLA when I was seventeen and got to meet him
- 26:49Speaker 1: and hang out with him for a day. So that
- 26:50Speaker 1: was pretty special. Does Frank Pollack call you Mango? No, Frank,
- 26:54Speaker 1: I have been called mongo before, but you know that's
- 26:59Speaker 1: reserved for Steve McMichael. That was his nickname back in
- 27:02Speaker 1: eighty five Bears. So you know, I've had more so
- 27:05Speaker 1: than being a nickname. There's been like trick plays or
- 27:07Speaker 1: fake plays called Mongo. If I'm involved at all as
- 27:10Speaker 1: as a kid and all the way up to now.
- 27:14Speaker 1: So if I see a trick play that you're involved in,
- 27:16Speaker 1: I'm going to assume that the Bengals call it Mango.
- 27:19Speaker 1: Or visiting or visiting or visiting with Ted Carris. You
- 27:22Speaker 1: mentioned the desire to play in the Big Ten, and
- 27:24Speaker 1: you did at Illinois. What did you enjoy most about
- 27:27Speaker 1: your college experience. I had some amazing friends, I thought, Um,
- 27:31Speaker 1: I found college to be fascinating. I really didn't turn
- 27:34Speaker 1: it on probably until like my sophomore year. Academically I
- 27:37Speaker 1: woke up and really took advantage of, um, you know,
- 27:40Speaker 1: the opportunity of a free education at such a such
- 27:43Speaker 1: a great school. End up finishing with two degrees from there.
- 27:46Speaker 1: But you know, I wish we would have been better.
- 27:48Speaker 1: We didn't have the greatest run there. At On the
- 27:50Speaker 1: other playing great this year though exciting to see um,
- 27:54Speaker 1: but have lifelong friends and you know, I met my wife,
- 27:58Speaker 1: so you know, overall is a and then made to
- 28:00Speaker 1: the NFL, so it was a net positive Illinois. But
- 28:03Speaker 1: football wise, what those are probably my least fond memories.
- 28:06Speaker 1: So football, there's the University of Illinois. After five years there,
- 28:10Speaker 1: you're drafted by the Patriots in the sixth round in
- 28:12Speaker 1: twenty sixteen. Describe your draft experience. Well, I, uh, you know,
- 28:17Speaker 1: I didn't know whether I was gonna be drafted or not.
- 28:19Speaker 1: My agent said the best chance was Patriots in the
- 28:22Speaker 1: sixth round, which obviously it was a good, good call
- 28:26Speaker 1: by him, but you know, so the interesting thing about
- 28:30Speaker 1: that year was that was the deflate Gate scandal and
- 28:32Speaker 1: they took away the first round draft pick of the
- 28:34Speaker 1: Patriots and gave him three extra six rounders and gave
- 28:37Speaker 1: him an extra fourth, an extra sixth round, and I
- 28:39Speaker 1: was the last of those six round picks. It was
- 28:41Speaker 1: the last pick of the sixth round. It was amazing.
- 28:44Speaker 1: I you know, I didn't know if I was going
- 28:46Speaker 1: to a draft or not. Still through a huge party
- 28:47Speaker 1: in my house. Everyone that was in my life up
- 28:50Speaker 1: until that point was there. And you know, still very
- 28:54Speaker 1: grateful to this day for that, that amazing opportunity. And
- 28:57Speaker 1: of course Belichick's gonna be two opportunities to be on
- 28:59Speaker 1: his team, so always be grateful to him for that.
- 29:02Speaker 1: So you go to New England, win a Super Bowl
- 29:04Speaker 1: or first year, go back to the Super Bowl year second,
- 29:07Speaker 1: go again your third year and win again that third year.
- 29:11Speaker 1: Did you realize how ridiculous that was? Yes? I did
- 29:15Speaker 1: realize how because I was, and you know, it was
- 29:18Speaker 1: so special to be part of such great teams. And
- 29:20Speaker 1: I mean those teams were stacked from top to bottom,
- 29:23Speaker 1: and to be a contributor at times on those teams
- 29:25Speaker 1: was amazing. And I saved everything. I have everything saved
- 29:29Speaker 1: from all the really from my entire career. You know,
- 29:32Speaker 1: I have every program signed by the featured player, of
- 29:37Speaker 1: a bunch of gear every Super Bowl. I kept my
- 29:40Speaker 1: whole outfit. I'm I'm a football fan too, so I collect,
- 29:44Speaker 1: you know, all this stuff, and I get kind of
- 29:46Speaker 1: easy access to some of the good stuff. So saved
- 29:49Speaker 1: it all. You know, still more to finish, though, I'd
- 29:52Speaker 1: like to get back and get another one. I would
- 29:55Speaker 1: like you to get back and get another one too.
- 29:57Speaker 1: Hopefully soon you're gonna be asked about Bill Belichick for
- 29:59Speaker 1: the rest your life. How do you describe him? I
- 30:02Speaker 1: think he's, you know, the ultimate leader of an organization
- 30:07Speaker 1: of you know, and I think that whatever field he
- 30:10Speaker 1: would have ventured into, he would have been a leader
- 30:12Speaker 1: and at the forefront of it. But you know, you know,
- 30:15Speaker 1: I can't say enough about the things that he taught me,
- 30:17Speaker 1: not only in football, but just how to lead men
- 30:20Speaker 1: and carry yourself. And you know, a lot of the
- 30:24Speaker 1: tenants that he, you know, has preached and still does.
- 30:27Speaker 1: I'm sure today has preaching some of those, and I
- 30:30Speaker 1: you know, I think about those a lot. So I
- 30:32Speaker 1: owe a lot of credit to him. I owe a
- 30:34Speaker 1: credit to my old line coach there, Dante Scarnekia I
- 30:37Speaker 1: would not be the player I was without him or
- 30:39Speaker 1: the person. So you know, it was a tremendous opportunity
- 30:43Speaker 1: for me, and I I'm glad that I took advantage
- 30:46Speaker 1: of it. I never want to squander any chances or opportunities.
- 30:49Speaker 1: So that was a special one and led me to hear.
- 30:52Speaker 1: Then there's Tom Brady your block form for four years.
- 30:56Speaker 1: He's the goat of his many incredible qualities. What do
- 31:00Speaker 1: you respect the most? His desire to win and his
- 31:04Speaker 1: obsession with um, you know, winning and and putting his
- 31:08Speaker 1: his uh teammates and positions to be successful. UM. I
- 31:13Speaker 1: was always, you know, really grateful to him, just in
- 31:17Speaker 1: the fact how he treated my family, how he treated me. Um.
- 31:20Speaker 1: You know, he's a superstars, uh, you know, as big
- 31:23Speaker 1: as it gets in this country, so in this world really,
- 31:26Speaker 1: so you know, he's at the top of the world
- 31:28Speaker 1: and still had time for the little guys on his team.
- 31:32Speaker 1: So I have a lot of respect for him, UM,
- 31:35Speaker 1: and you know, always be rooting for him except from
- 31:37Speaker 1: wherehen we go down there and play them. This year
- 31:39Speaker 1: we're chatting with Ted Carris. So you grew up in
- 31:42Speaker 1: the Midwest, went to college in the Midwest, played in
- 31:44Speaker 1: New England for four years and then you went to Miami.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Big change of lifestyle down in South Beach in that area.
- 31:51Speaker 1: What do you think of your time in Florida? Oh, well,
- 31:54Speaker 1: time when Florida's not done, Dan, we lived down there.
- 31:56Speaker 1: We're gonna we're we half and half it will be
- 31:59Speaker 1: we'll be snow birds. It was very fortunate timing. Um
- 32:03Speaker 1: for me, got a great opportunity to go and and
- 32:06Speaker 1: and be a starter in Miami at a time. You know,
- 32:09Speaker 1: it was just awesome. My wife and I bought a
- 32:11Speaker 1: house and you know, we love it done there. We've
- 32:13Speaker 1: amazing friends and and uh, you know, you know, hopefully
- 32:17Speaker 1: we'll keep that forever. All right. A few wild card
- 32:21Speaker 1: topics for Ted Carriss. You own a construction company. I
- 32:25Speaker 1: do well. I I invest in the construction company. It's
- 32:29Speaker 1: it is, it is ours. I'm a few layers removed
- 32:33Speaker 1: as for just smart business sense. But um, yeah, So
- 32:38Speaker 1: we build home single family homes in Indianapolish. We bought
- 32:42Speaker 1: a lot of lots from the city over the past
- 32:45Speaker 1: few years and just kind of filling them up and
- 32:47Speaker 1: making the neighborhoods better. There's a lot of new construction
- 32:51Speaker 1: in India. It's cool to be a part of it.
- 32:52Speaker 1: I uh, you know, I've been fascinated with construction and
- 32:55Speaker 1: it's pretty decent payout. When you signed to the Bengals,
- 33:00Speaker 1: the radio voice of the Patriots told me he's obsessed
- 33:03Speaker 1: with the Office. Are we talking like every episode multiple
- 33:07Speaker 1: times type of obsession? Yeah? I think so. Over the years,
- 33:11Speaker 1: I would I would put myself up against anyone in Office. Trivia,
- 33:17Speaker 1: the left guard for the Chiefs and my roommate for
- 33:19Speaker 1: four years in New England. He's also he's up there.
- 33:21Speaker 1: He would be probably the only one I think it
- 33:23Speaker 1: could challenge me. Joe too. Favorite episode Dinner Party. So
- 33:30Speaker 1: is that Michael and Jan inviting the others over to
- 33:33Speaker 1: their house for the most uncomfortable conversation of all time. Yeah,
- 33:36Speaker 1: it's awesome and yeah, and then it's got that song
- 33:39Speaker 1: in it too that her assistant wrote. So I just
- 33:41Speaker 1: think it's a classic episode and it's cool that they
- 33:45Speaker 1: switched up the setting. That is a very good episode.
- 33:48Speaker 1: In addition to being a brute force NFL offensive lineman,
- 33:53Speaker 1: you are a cat guy? Is that correct? I do?
- 33:56Speaker 1: I have two cats, Nigel and Nugget. I will have dogs.
- 34:00Speaker 1: When I'm done playing, I can't, you know, in good
- 34:04Speaker 1: conscience take on a dog because I wouldn't be around
- 34:07Speaker 1: enough to give it the carrot it deserves. So my
- 34:10Speaker 1: cats are my companions. They're amazing. My wife and I
- 34:13Speaker 1: love them so much, and they're they're very vocal. Cats
- 34:16Speaker 1: are really cool. You know, we kind of keep in private,
- 34:18Speaker 1: but they're they'd be pretty special if we if we
- 34:21Speaker 1: made like an Instagram formum, I'm sure they'd be pretty popular,
- 34:24Speaker 1: all right, fans are clamoring more pictures on Instagram. I
- 34:28Speaker 1: read an article where you discussed your travel adventures. Is
- 34:32Speaker 1: that a passion um? I think it's just again taking
- 34:36Speaker 1: advantage of opportunities, Like you know, after my rookie year,
- 34:41Speaker 1: you know, we stayed probably seventy nights in a hotel
- 34:43Speaker 1: that year, and I set up a Marriott Points rewards
- 34:46Speaker 1: system and got to go to Europe with my friends
- 34:49Speaker 1: for two weeks for under a thousand dollars. So you know,
- 34:53Speaker 1: just you know, you get five months off basically, and
- 34:59Speaker 1: you know, I either want I don't want to waste
- 35:01Speaker 1: that time ever, though, so there's usually a trip involved.
- 35:04Speaker 1: Either I'm in school or there's some kind of skill
- 35:07Speaker 1: building that I'm doing because I'm not just going to
- 35:09Speaker 1: sit around for five months. Obviously I'm working out and
- 35:11Speaker 1: continuing my professional obligation as an athlete, but I'm not
- 35:14Speaker 1: just gonna sit on my hands for five months, work
- 35:17Speaker 1: out in the morning and watch TV all day. I
- 35:18Speaker 1: want to be doing something actively so that when I'm done,
- 35:21Speaker 1: you know, eventually it comes for everyone here, when your
- 35:25Speaker 1: time is up, it's up, and it's you know, kind
- 35:27Speaker 1: of an unceremonious end for a lot of guys. So
- 35:30Speaker 1: I want to be in the best position possible with
- 35:32Speaker 1: skills degrees to be able to you know, continue being
- 35:36Speaker 1: at the top of whatever field I want to go into.
- 35:39Speaker 1: Final question, it's kind of deep. If you could meet
- 35:43Speaker 1: anybody in history, who would that person be, Well, I'd
- 35:47Speaker 1: pick two. I think that first I would like to
- 35:49Speaker 1: meet Peter Disciple. Peter because I just would like the
- 35:53Speaker 1: early formation of the Church is fascinating and you know,
- 35:57Speaker 1: you want to say, Jesus if you're really going into that,
- 35:59Speaker 1: but that hopefully we'll come later on. Peter would be
- 36:04Speaker 1: interesting just for the Roman aspect and how they navigated
- 36:07Speaker 1: it a whole empire and you know, spread a religion.
- 36:10Speaker 1: I think that's pretty fascinating. And then Winston Churchill too.
- 36:14Speaker 1: You know, he was kind of a you know, a liberal,
- 36:17Speaker 1: upstart young guy in a pretty entrenched monarchical government for
- 36:21Speaker 1: a long time and you know, bounce back from he
- 36:25Speaker 1: suffered some political humiliations in early life and then ended
- 36:28Speaker 1: up being a hero that's celebrated to this day. So
- 36:31Speaker 1: I'd like any I heard he's pretty I mean, I've
- 36:33Speaker 1: read a few books on him. He's really quirky and
- 36:35Speaker 1: and interesting. So high energy guy. Though, I'd like to
- 36:38Speaker 1: see how you know, maybe just tail him along like
- 36:41Speaker 1: in nineteen forty four would be kind of cool. I'll say,
- 36:44Speaker 1: that's a very interesting duo. It'll be a fascinating dinner
- 36:49Speaker 1: for three. Appreciate your time. It's great to have you
- 36:52Speaker 1: in Cincinnati. Best of luck the rest of the year.
- 36:54Speaker 1: Thank you so much. Dan. That's going to do it
