- 1:58Speaker 2: It's appropriate that it was on Sync a mile because
- 2:00Speaker 2: pet moms and dads know that that makes dealing with
- 2:03Speaker 2: the dogs at a baseball game a lot easier. But anyway,
- 2:07Speaker 2: she popped up on their story, popped up on their
- 2:11Speaker 2: Facebook page, and I was like, well, look at that
- 2:13Speaker 2: superstar famous dog that's been to more ballgames so far
- 2:16Speaker 2: this year than I have. I don't know whether to
- 2:18Speaker 2: love you or to be very very frustrated with you,
- 2:21Speaker 2: but either way, it was a great look. Thank you

- 5:19Speaker 2: it'll have something to do with the song from either
- 5:21Speaker 2: the eighties or nineties to get us ready for the
- 5:24Speaker 2: weekend that's next.
- 5:25Speaker 3: Stay with us.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Toby at Chilly in the Morning on ninety seven point
- 5:30Speaker 2: one wash CHEFM, and like we do on Fridays, we

- 5:52Speaker 2: at five and who defines the eighties better than Whitney
- 5:57Speaker 2: Houston from the Greatest Love. Whitney's reminds us today that
- 6:02Speaker 2: you've got to love yourself before you love somebody else.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Come on now, I really don't know that. I need
- 6:09Speaker 2: to explain what makes perfect sense. Whitney said it best
- 6:12Speaker 2: love yourself before you love somebody else. It matters because
- 6:16Speaker 2: everything gets better when you start with you, and that
- 6:22Speaker 2: helps to unlock everything better relationships, better love, better work life,
- 6:27Speaker 2: better family life. Love yourself before you love somebody else.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Today and don't forget we kick off that Best of
- 6:33Speaker 2: the Eighties and nineties weekend five o'clock today on your
- 6:35Speaker 2: way home with ninety seven point one WASHEFM.
- 6:37Speaker 3: That's your morning mindset if you need it.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Again, find it Facebook, Instatoby and chillipage washefm dot com
- 6:43Speaker 2: and stay there because we're going to talk about the
- 6:46Speaker 2: friendly skies.
- 6:47Speaker 5: Well.
- 6:47Speaker 4: Spirit Airlines shut down and a lot of people are
- 6:51Speaker 4: interested in bringing it back thanks to some guy on TikTok.
- 6:56Speaker 5: We're gonna tell you what he's up to, coming up
- 6:59Speaker 5: in just a few minutes.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Yeah, don't go anywhere, especially if you're a big fan
- 7:03Speaker 2: of the Bumblebee Airline otherwise known as Spirit. I don't
- 7:06Speaker 2: know if your social media is like mine, but I've
- 7:08Speaker 2: seen a lot of people, a lot of former flight workers,
- 7:12Speaker 2: flight attendants, pilots and such from Spirit Airlines posting away
- 7:16Speaker 2: lamenting the fact that they ceased operations this week ninety
- 7:20Speaker 2: seven point one WATCHFM We're Toby and Chilly in the morning.
- 7:22Speaker 2: But some fans of Spirit Airlines have said, well, we'll
- 7:25Speaker 2: just see about that.
- 7:27Speaker 4: I mean, a TikToker started a campaign to buy and
- 7:30Speaker 4: revive Spirit after it shut down, and even though it
- 7:34Speaker 4: sounds like his idea was crazy, it's actually haha taken off.
- 7:40Speaker 4: Let's buy Spirit air dot com lets people pledge to
- 7:44Speaker 4: buy a share at a minimum of forty five dollars
- 7:47Speaker 4: and so far Toby.
- 7:48Speaker 5: I just check.
- 7:49Speaker 4: These are audited share pledges, two hundred and fourteen million.
- 7:53Speaker 4: They've already collected in less.
- 7:55Speaker 3: Than like a week, less than a week.
- 7:57Speaker 4: I know. So the goal is I think one point
- 8:00Speaker 4: seven billion or whatever. But look at this rate, the
- 8:03Speaker 4: dude's gonna get there. And I don't know what's gonna
- 8:05Speaker 4: happen if they actually raise that money. Are they really
- 8:08Speaker 4: gonna go forward and have the people us be part owners?
- 8:12Speaker 2: Oh no, but if you can buy a share at
- 8:14Speaker 2: forty five dollars, I might go and dig around and
- 8:17Speaker 2: the couch and find that in change and whatnot. Because
- 8:20Speaker 2: as much as people wanted to pooh pooh on Spirit
- 8:23Speaker 2: for not being on time, for making you pay for
- 8:27Speaker 2: checked bags and well you know all of that stuff,
- 8:30Speaker 2: I will tell you that Spirit is an airline, has
- 8:35Speaker 2: a lot of fans and a lot of employees that
- 8:37Speaker 2: really love them.
- 8:38Speaker 4: It was affordable for so many people. Now you got
- 8:41Speaker 4: people for summer travel. They can't be traveling because they
- 8:44Speaker 4: can't afford you know, the amount that they have to pay.
- 8:47Speaker 4: And I hope that somebody somewhere steps in to fill
- 8:51Speaker 4: this gap of low cost carrier, because if nobody does Toby,
- 8:56Speaker 4: all these other airlines can now jack their prices up
- 8:59Speaker 4: because the Rea and they kept it kind of low
- 9:01Speaker 4: was to compete with the spirits of the world.
- 9:03Speaker 2: So if anybody has Elon Musk on speed dial, could
- 9:06Speaker 2: you call the brother and ask him for a little
- 9:08Speaker 2: bit of money.
- 9:08Speaker 3: He seems to have a ton of it here.
- 9:10Speaker 4: Or just go to Let's buy spirit air dot com
- 9:13Speaker 4: and get yourself some shares.
- 9:14Speaker 2: If there you go, give generously and then give some
- 9:18Speaker 2: more if you can. Spirit air will rise like a
- 9:21Speaker 2: phoenix from the ashes.
- 9:24Speaker 3: That's right.
- 9:25Speaker 2: And by the way, if you want to read more
- 9:26Speaker 2: about it, you can. Toby in chilipage washefm dot com.

- 13:28Speaker 4: if mom wants to, I guess that's an option.
- 13:30Speaker 2: I wonder if you could call your favorite restaurant or
- 13:32Speaker 2: mom's favorite restaurant and beg, you know, groveling a little bit.
- 13:37Speaker 3: I mean, just be like, but it's my mom.
- 13:40Speaker 5: No, sorry, too late.
- 13:43Speaker 4: We did something fun a couple of weeks ago when
- 13:45Speaker 4: I wass bring your kid to work day. Since we
- 13:48Speaker 4: had so many kids running around the office, we decided
- 13:51Speaker 4: to take advantage of the moment, Toby and ask them
- 13:54Speaker 4: what they love most about their moms.
- 13:56Speaker 7: I know my mom loves me because she gives me
- 13:58Speaker 7: that happy feeling and sign. She snuggles me and tells
- 14:01Speaker 7: me every night. My mom's really good at cooking and pottery,
- 14:05Speaker 7: and she's really good at making anybody little better.
- 14:08Speaker 8: I love that my mom is little good at cooking
- 14:11Speaker 8: and meeting and taking me to my activity at all time.
- 14:16Speaker 8: Whenever rests a good night, she's like good night button,
- 14:19Speaker 8: and she gives me nicknames and stuff.
- 14:21Speaker 7: And whenever I'm sad, she gives me a hug. And
- 14:25Speaker 7: she likes me having sometimes act their time on your day.
- 14:29Speaker 7: My mom makes the best chocolate. Nobody mom makes the
- 14:34Speaker 7: chocolate night happy Mourday.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Mom.
- 14:37Speaker 5: I love you, I appreciate you, thank you for everything.
- 14:41Speaker 5: You're the best mom ever.
- 14:42Speaker 2: The sincerity of those kids and the innocence was just
- 14:46Speaker 2: really amazing. So Mom's Happy Mother's Day. And hopefully your
- 14:50Speaker 2: little ones that aren't so little anymore, and your little
- 14:53Speaker 2: ones who are still little remember everything that you do
- 14:57Speaker 2: and that you give up for them.
- 14:59Speaker 3: God knows.
- 14:59Speaker 2: We where Toby and Chilly in the morning. It is
- 15:02Speaker 2: ninety seven point one wash FM. Hang out for a
- 15:05Speaker 2: few minutes.
- 15:06Speaker 4: Hate to break it to you if you're in a relationship,
- 15:08Speaker 4: but May might actually be breakup season. Oh no, but
- 15:13Speaker 4: there's a reason for that, and we'll share what it
- 15:15Speaker 4: is coming up next.
- 15:17Speaker 2: Toby and Tilly in the Morning on ninety seven point
- 15:19Speaker 2: one wash FM. It's Friday in the Capital City of
- 15:23Speaker 2: the Free World in May, May eighth. As a matter
- 15:27Speaker 2: of fact, did you know that May is a dangerous
- 15:30Speaker 2: month for people in relationships?
- 15:32Speaker 4: Researchers found that sixty three percent of people think this
- 15:37Speaker 4: is the best time to end a relationship.
- 15:40Speaker 2: Will and then watch this fun fact. One out of
- 15:44Speaker 2: three people that they talk to say that they would
- 15:47Speaker 2: end a relationship on the very first day of the
- 15:50Speaker 2: month of May.
- 15:51Speaker 4: Oh lord, Now there is a reason for this. It
- 15:54Speaker 4: seems it's tied to the fact that summer is approaching.
- 15:58Speaker 4: You know, people are getting out more, make plans, traveling,
- 16:01Speaker 4: and let's just say they want a little more freedom
- 16:05Speaker 4: heading into warmer months.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Oh really, they'd like to be unencumbered when they go
- 16:09Speaker 2: sit by the pool or perhaps the beach and they
- 16:11Speaker 2: scout out the honeys in the mkinies or the men
- 16:16Speaker 2: with the rock hard.
- 16:18Speaker 5: Asb whatever the reason.
- 16:20Speaker 4: They want to be care free and not have to
- 16:22Speaker 4: be tied to somebody.
- 16:23Speaker 5: If that's how you're looking at it, you're with the
- 16:25Speaker 5: wrong person.
- 16:26Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think the relationship probably had bigger problems
- 16:29Speaker 2: to begin with other than the month of May.
- 16:31Speaker 4: Well, you know there's spring cleaning of your home, right right,
- 16:34Speaker 4: Maybe this is a personal spring cleaning. It's a time
- 16:36Speaker 4: for a fresh start. Seventy three percent say this time
- 16:39Speaker 4: of year feels like the perfect opportunity to start over.
- 16:43Speaker 2: That's seventy three percent. I know that is overwhelming. You
- 16:49Speaker 2: have had way.
- 16:51Speaker 4: More relationships than I have. Did you notice that you
- 16:53Speaker 4: broke up with a lot of girls in May?
- 16:56Speaker 3: No, I didn't really keep track of it.
- 16:58Speaker 2: But I bet if I were to go back now
- 17:01Speaker 2: and try to do some sort of post mortem research
- 17:05Speaker 2: on those past relationships, I bet there might be a
- 17:08Speaker 2: maybe there's a corollary that I don't know, and then Florida.
- 17:12Speaker 2: Florida is just a thing. Let me just tell you,
- 17:14Speaker 2: Florida made everything crazy.
- 17:15Speaker 5: But yeah, because it's warm and summary and beachy all
- 17:18Speaker 5: year round.
- 17:18Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right. So May became June, became July became December.
- 17:22Speaker 2: I don't know, but that's just that is just shocking

- 22:25Speaker 2: and Chilly in the morning on ninety seven point one WASHFM.
- 22:28Speaker 4: A story we think is going to make you feel good.
- 22:30Speaker 4: On this Friday. A DC man's going to run a
- 22:33Speaker 4: full marathon around the monument this Sunday and a powerful
- 22:37Speaker 4: tribute to his late brother.
- 22:39Speaker 2: It's one of those stories you just need to hear
- 22:41Speaker 2: on a Friday because it'll make your day even better.
- 22:44Speaker 3: As we prepare for the weekend, don't move.
- 22:47Speaker 2: It's next as you make your way into work or
- 22:52Speaker 2: to start your life. Ninety five northbound, maybe you're on
- 22:55Speaker 2: two seventy south, sixty six east west, or you're stuck
- 22:58Speaker 2: on the beltwing and you're just finding us for the
- 23:00Speaker 2: first time.
- 23:01Speaker 3: Welcome, We're Toby and Chilly.
- 23:02Speaker 2: In the morning, It's ninety seven point one wash FM
- 23:04Speaker 2: and on Fridays, we like to find stories that bring
- 23:08Speaker 2: forth all the fields. It's your feel good Friday story
- 23:11Speaker 2: for this week. And as we close in on May tenth,
- 23:14Speaker 2: there's a man named Max Davis who recently moved to
- 23:17Speaker 2: d C from Utah, and he is preparing for something
- 23:20Speaker 2: very very, very deeply personal this weekend at the Washington Monument.
- 23:26Speaker 4: So Sunday morning, starting at seven am, he is going
- 23:29Speaker 4: to begin what amounts to a full marathon. We're talking
- 23:32Speaker 4: twenty six point two miles completed entirely by running laps
- 23:36Speaker 4: around the monument, and by his own calculation, it's going
- 23:39Speaker 4: to be a I don't know, three hundred and twenty
- 23:41Speaker 4: seven laps and he has very little formal training. He's
- 23:46Speaker 4: still planning on pushing through several hours of continuous movement
- 23:50Speaker 4: and repetition.
- 23:51Speaker 2: This is deeply personal for him. It's more personal than
- 23:55Speaker 2: say endurance. May tenth is the third year anniversary since
- 24:00Speaker 2: Max lost his brother Beck to suicide, and the two
- 24:03Speaker 2: were very close in age. They shared a strong bond
- 24:06Speaker 2: through their lives. I mean, that's what family's all about.
- 24:09Speaker 2: In the years since that loss, Max started the Beck
- 24:12Speaker 2: Davis Survivors of Loss Foundation, and their focus is helping
- 24:15Speaker 2: families navigate the grief, especially in the early stages. Now
- 24:19Speaker 2: they work to support needs practical needs like funeral costs,
- 24:23Speaker 2: therapy expenses, time away from work, things that are oftentimes
- 24:28Speaker 2: overlooked during bereavement.
- 24:30Speaker 4: What's really cool is Max shared what his plan was
- 24:32Speaker 4: on social media and he invited some local runners to
- 24:35Speaker 4: join him.
- 24:35Speaker 5: Which quickly gained popularity.
- 24:37Speaker 4: So for Max, the run is both a physical challenge
- 24:40Speaker 4: and also a tribute that blends endurance and remembrance, and
- 24:43Speaker 4: it really reflects his ongoing effort to keep his brother's
- 24:46Speaker 4: memory alive while also supporting others who are experiencing similar loss.
- 24:51Speaker 4: And again, the run begins seven am Sunday, one lap
- 24:55Speaker 4: at a time, and it's going to circle a landmark
- 24:57Speaker 4: that will serve as the backdrop for a very personal milestone.
- 25:01Speaker 2: Honoring the memory and building a legacy. How can you
- 25:05Speaker 2: not feel good about that on a Friday morning? Now,
- 25:08Speaker 2: if you're interested in you want to take part, we've
- 25:09Speaker 2: got the details for you the Toby and chilipage at
- 25:12Speaker 2: washefm dot com. And again that's this weekend in Max Davis.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Thanks for giving us something to feel really good about
- 25:18Speaker 2: as we get into the weekend, It's ninety seven point
- 25:20Speaker 2: one WASHFM, Chili. You've got the news top stories at
- 25:23Speaker 2: the top of the hour. What's up.
- 25:24Speaker 5: If you've got a.
- 25:25Speaker 4: Major decision to make, there's apparently the ideal time of
- 25:29Speaker 4: day to do so. I'll tell you what research has
- 25:31Speaker 4: found coming up in just a few minutes.
- 25:34Speaker 2: In the moment you'll have this weekend, you'll think about
- 25:36Speaker 2: AOL saying you've got nail. You'll remember when MTV actually
- 25:41Speaker 2: played music videos. Oh the memories that you'll conjure with
- 25:47Speaker 2: ninety seven point one WASHEFM as we get into the weekend.
- 25:50Speaker 4: Today at five o'clock, Sabrina Conti kicks off our best
- 25:53Speaker 4: of the eighties and nineties weekend.
- 25:56Speaker 2: It's ninety seven point one wash Chef m or Toby
- 25:59Speaker 2: at Chilly in the Morning.

- 26:06Speaker 1: coming up on Top Stories, Top of the Hour.
- 26:09Speaker 4: The National Capital Planning Commission holding off on a decision
- 26:12Speaker 4: about painting the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.
- 26:16Speaker 5: We've got the latest on that story and others on
- 26:19Speaker 5: the way.
- 26:19Speaker 4: With Toby and Chili in the Morning, a ninety seven
- 26:22Speaker 4: point one wash FM.
- 26:26Speaker 6: Top Stories, Top of the Hour.
- 26:28Speaker 4: The President says the ceasefire between the US and Iran
- 26:32Speaker 4: is still holding, despite new clashes in the Strait OFFORMUS.
- 26:35Speaker 4: The US says that it intercepted unprovoked Iranian attacks on
- 26:39Speaker 4: three US Navy ships yesterday, prompting retaliatory strikes on Iranian
- 26:44Speaker 4: military facilities. The National Capital Planning Commission is holding off
- 26:48Speaker 4: on a decision about painting the Eisenhower Executive Office Building white.
- 26:53Speaker 4: The administration wants to spend seven and a half million
- 26:56Speaker 4: dollars to apply a special paint as part of their
- 26:59Speaker 4: Beautiful effort, but preservation groups warned that it could damage
- 27:03Speaker 4: the granite and also require frequent reapplication. The long delayed
- 27:09Speaker 4: Purple Line reached a major milestone this week, as crews
- 27:12Speaker 4: installed the final piece of track for the sixteen mile
- 27:15Speaker 4: rail line that's going to connect Mctgermy County and Prince
- 27:18Speaker 4: George's County officials say the project is now another step
- 27:21Speaker 4: closer to its planned opening next year. Loudon County leaders
- 27:26Speaker 4: are once again fighting at proposed toll increase for the
- 27:29Speaker 4: Dulles Greenway. The private operator wants to raise peak tolls
- 27:34Speaker 4: from five dollars and eighty cents to six seventy five.
- 27:38Speaker 4: The county officials say they fear the higher prices could
- 27:41Speaker 4: drive more traffic onto local roads.
- 27:43Speaker 5: The NFL is going to be.
- 27:44Speaker 4: Splitting former Monday night football double header games between Netflix
- 27:49Speaker 4: and YouTube. The four games became available after ESPN gave
- 27:53Speaker 4: up the package as part of Disney's acquisition of NFL Network.
- 27:58Speaker 4: And research suggests the best time to make major decisions
- 28:02Speaker 4: is in the morning, when people are typically more focused
- 28:05Speaker 4: and mentally fresh. Experts say that about an hour after
- 28:10Speaker 4: waking is the ideal window for peak cognitive alertness before
- 28:14Speaker 4: decision fatigue sets in later in the day. Forecast for
- 28:18Speaker 4: today sunny skies. Highs around seventy right now fifty three
- 28:22Speaker 4: in Leesburg.
- 28:23Speaker 2: And that is the news with Toby and Chilly in
- 28:25Speaker 2: the morning. Remember you get your top stories at the
- 28:28Speaker 2: top of the hour and do his favor. Tell a
- 28:30Speaker 2: few of your friends, maybe put it in a group chat,
- 28:32Speaker 2: let them know that that's why you listen to us
- 28:34Speaker 2: in the morning here at ninety seven point one wash FM. Please,
- 28:38Speaker 2: it's important coming up in just minutes. Mother's Day is
- 28:41Speaker 2: this weekend, but it's kind of a bittersweet symphony for
- 28:44Speaker 2: some people. When we talk about Mother's Day, why well
- 28:49Speaker 2: we'll explain and we'll break it all down for you.
- 28:52Speaker 3: We'll discuss coming up.
- 28:55Speaker 2: I know a little bit ago, I was pretty ominous
- 28:57Speaker 2: when I said that Mother's Day for some can be
- 28:59Speaker 2: a very bitter week's symphony. It's ninety seven point one
- 29:02Speaker 2: wash FM, Toby and Chilly in the Morning. But the
- 29:04Speaker 2: truth is is that it can be very tough on people,
- 29:09Speaker 2: people who have experienced loss, specifically the loss of a mom,
- 29:14Speaker 2: and when Mother's Day rolls around, it's like you have
- 29:17Speaker 2: to relive that loss over and over and over again,
- 29:21Speaker 2: and it's got to be tough.
- 29:22Speaker 4: Yeah, especially for me when I lost my mother back
- 29:26Speaker 4: in two thousand and nine to ovarian cancer. I mean
- 29:29Speaker 4: I was in my thirties, so I did get to
- 29:31Speaker 4: have many Mother's Days with her, but it's always been
- 29:33Speaker 4: about her. And yes, I am a mother of a
- 29:35Speaker 4: twelve year old, but it's still not about me. So
- 29:37Speaker 4: I stay off social media on Sunday and every Mother's Day,
- 29:41Speaker 4: and I wanted to share something I wrote with all
- 29:44Speaker 4: of you who might be in a similar situation. Mother's
- 29:47Speaker 4: Day can be a lot of things, So for some
- 29:49Speaker 4: it's a full of celebration and joy, and for others
- 29:52Speaker 4: it's quiet and complicated and heavy. Not every relationship is simple,
- 29:57Speaker 4: not every story is warm and fuzzy. Some are marked
- 30:00Speaker 4: by loss, distance, or they need for boundaries, and days
- 30:04Speaker 4: like Mother's Day can make those feel a little louder.
- 30:08Speaker 4: So if Sunday does not feel like a celebration, that's okay.
- 30:13Speaker 4: If it feels bittersweet or you'd rather just get through it,
- 30:16Speaker 4: that's okay too. However it shows up for you, I
- 30:20Speaker 4: hope that you give yourself a little grace and maybe
- 30:23Speaker 4: even a small moment of peace and know that you're
- 30:25Speaker 4: not alone in this.
- 30:27Speaker 3: And to that point, Chilly.
- 30:28Speaker 2: When we had the kids in for take your Kids
- 30:32Speaker 2: to Work Day, I caught up with a young woman
- 30:34Speaker 2: named Samantha. Samantha is wise beyond her years, strong beyond
- 30:39Speaker 2: her years. I would imagine she is in the image
- 30:43Speaker 2: of her mother, and I knew her mom. Her mom
- 30:46Speaker 2: was incredibly strong and graceful. Now, Samantha lost her mom
- 30:50Speaker 2: a few years ago. Here's what she had to say
- 30:52Speaker 2: about her mom and how she knows her mom is
- 30:54Speaker 2: still here with her.
- 30:57Speaker 8: My mom loves me even if she passed away a
- 30:59Speaker 8: few years ago. But I know she's always in my
- 31:02Speaker 8: heart and she loves me because sometimes she'll remind me
- 31:05Speaker 8: of other stuff when I look around. I have the
- 31:08Speaker 8: best memory of like going out with her and also
- 31:10Speaker 8: having a girl's day before she couldn't really go out
- 31:13Speaker 8: of the house anymore. I would tell her I love
- 31:16Speaker 8: her so much and O God is always looking out
- 31:18Speaker 8: for her. Happy Mother's Day, Mom.
- 31:20Speaker 6: I'm doing good.
- 31:21Speaker 8: I got this. I'm trying to nick you, prad.
- 31:23Speaker 2: Everybody will be in the bar getting tipsy when Shaiboozi
- 31:27Speaker 2: comes to town.
