Pelham City Council just approved rezoning a 1.5-acre plot at the corner of Highway 52 and Racquet Club Parkway for a new QuikTrip — but don’t hit the gas just yet. While the land’s designation shifted from agricultural to commercial, the project still faces hurdles, especially traffic. Councilman Chad Leverett clarified the vote only changed zoning, not approval — and he won’t support it until traffic solutions are ironed out, particularly access from Racquet Club Drive.
