- 0:02Speaker 1: Last day in Bayama, I had the pro great conversation
- 0:07Speaker 1: with Joe Carter coming up. You might grab John Smoltz,
- 0:11Speaker 1: russ or Tees, those Giants fans out there, a little
- 0:15Speaker 1: Braves Orioles Orioles, gosh.
- 0:19Speaker 2: I played against him in Triple A M H. Crats.
- 0:22Speaker 2: I played against russ Er Tees. He was in Fresno.
- 0:24Speaker 2: I was I was twenty one, called the Salt Lake.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Everyone's like, oh we Fresno is the best team. They
- 0:30Speaker 2: had Armando Rios and Doug Mirabelly and rests or Tees
- 0:35Speaker 2: and all these guys that went on to be become
- 0:38Speaker 2: a big part of the Giants and other teams too.
- 0:41Speaker 2: But I remember they were like this russ or Tees guy,
- 0:43Speaker 2: he's he's the best picture and his numbers were way better.
- 0:46Speaker 2: And I faced him and I was like, it was
- 0:47Speaker 2: the first time I had ever seen a guy throw
- 0:49Speaker 2: like a true cutter, like a four seam cutter, because
- 0:52Speaker 2: nobody really threw that back then. I got a hit
- 0:55Speaker 2: off him. I was like, damn, all right, I can
- 0:57Speaker 2: do this now because he was the guy. After facing
- 1:00Speaker 2: the first time, I was like, there is I'm never
- 1:01Speaker 2: gonna get a hit off this dude, it was cutters
- 1:04Speaker 2: her ball, a little change up. He was. He was
- 1:07Speaker 2: the best I had seen up till that point.
- 1:09Speaker 1: He said he had some nice natural cut. We'll talk
- 1:11Speaker 1: to him about it, so we'll save it. We'll save
- 1:13Speaker 1: the rest of the combo. Obviously, we'll grab him live
- 1:16Speaker 1: after he's done here. One other shout out before we start,
- 1:20Speaker 1: not on the field, but off the field, and bide
- 1:24Speaker 1: with the politicians. We might have one of the most
- 1:26Speaker 1: athletic politicians out there.
- 1:29Speaker 2: To share a mark, to share so to say vote text.
- 1:32Speaker 1: I mean, it's perfect if you're vote text in text.
- 1:34Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. It's perfect. He's running for Congress
- 1:36Speaker 2: and in Texas, which I listen. God bless you for
- 1:39Speaker 2: doing that. I wanted to do that, Joe Luck. God
- 1:42Speaker 2: bless it. That's all I'm gonna say, because that is
- 1:44Speaker 2: not his job for the week for the weak minded.
- 1:49Speaker 2: And he played baseball, so he knows failure. He knows
- 1:51Speaker 2: goods and bads and ups and downs. But you know,
- 1:53Speaker 2: we were talking off the air that there's been some
- 1:55Speaker 2: guys that have done this, but not the level of
- 1:58Speaker 2: to share a I guess herschel Walker would be the
- 2:00Speaker 2: closest one. Yeah, that's a big name with the chero
- 2:03Speaker 2: made a lot of money. It was a multi time
- 2:05Speaker 2: All Star World Series. I mean the whole deal. He
- 2:07Speaker 2: was he was a star star.
- 2:10Speaker 3: About Donold? Wasn't Honold? Wasn't he an athlete too?
- 2:14Speaker 1: Come on, come on, j bodybuilder?
- 2:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know about that one.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Any bodybuilder?
- 2:20Speaker 2: Yeah, juicy juicy j Yeah.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean yeah, I get the labs. There's many selects.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Yeah, but I'm talking like I'm talking about an athlete
- 2:27Speaker 2: that made it to the top of their game in
- 2:30Speaker 2: one of the big sports. I mean Barty Building. Yes, people, yes,
- 2:33Speaker 2: but I'm talking one of the big sports. To do
- 2:36Speaker 2: this and to want to do this, and especially in
- 2:38Speaker 2: today's world, good luck techs.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Exactly. All right, Well, we got to get to our
- 2:47Speaker 1: reporter live on the scene, So let's charge the mound.
- 2:49Speaker 2: There might be some tears.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Let's send it out to our reporter in Pennsylvania reporting
- 2:57Speaker 1: live on the Philadelphia Phillies as they return home now
- 3:01Speaker 1: to take on the Braves set Citizens Bank Park. That's
- 3:05Speaker 1: the bank that they prefer. The other one that sponsors
- 3:08Speaker 1: the home of the Mets is a house of horrors.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Eric Kratz, Can you recap the Phillies Mets series for us?
- 3:18Speaker 3: The Mets played more gooder than the Phillies did. The Phillies, Hey,
- 3:23Speaker 3: at least the last game they didn't even get Phillies
- 3:25Speaker 3: fans a chance to like get into the game. The
- 3:28Speaker 3: other games they blew the lead that they had and
- 3:31Speaker 3: then they couldn't tackle on or keep the guys off
- 3:35Speaker 3: off the basis, it was a it was a statement
- 3:39Speaker 3: series for the Mets, for sure. But you know what,
- 3:44Speaker 3: the Phillies are still up by four games. They're probably
- 3:48Speaker 3: gonna hang on. But Nolan McClain is throwing that sinker
- 3:53Speaker 3: slider combination that I don't know. To me, that's way
- 3:58Speaker 3: harder than trying to hit a hundred miles an hour.
- 4:01Speaker 3: You don't know if it's that pitch is going to
- 4:03Speaker 3: be a slider off the plate by eight inches or
- 4:07Speaker 3: it's gonna stay on the plate by eight inches. It's
- 4:09Speaker 3: just there's so much variance in that sinker slider. And
- 4:14Speaker 3: what did we say yesterday? What did I say yesterday? Boy?
- 4:17Speaker 3: You know what the Mets would really need is somebody
- 4:19Speaker 3: to go over six innings and McLean's like, okay, Eric,
- 4:23Speaker 3: I'll listen to you. I'll go eight.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Here here McLean reminds me of a Schrollenbach. He's got
- 4:32Speaker 2: I think he's got a little bit better stuff from
- 4:34Speaker 2: when he came up. But remember McLain was a two
- 4:36Speaker 2: way guy, right comes up setting the world on our
- 4:38Speaker 2: Schwellenbach kind of did that until he got hurt. Obviously,
- 4:41Speaker 2: he's been really good for the brave so position player.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Many pitches, many pitches can throw, strikes, throws hard. To me,
- 4:50Speaker 2: he's a better version of Schwellenbach when Schwollenbach got to
- 4:53Speaker 2: the big leagues, and for him to come up in
- 4:55Speaker 2: this Pennant race. But zero point eight to nine era,
- 5:00Speaker 2: Viento's has been hot too. Let's not forget Viento's has
- 5:02Speaker 2: gotten hot all of a sudden. We have playoff Mark
- 5:05Speaker 2: Vento's coming out of nowhere. Four games is still a
- 5:07Speaker 2: lot to make up. I don't know if they can
- 5:09Speaker 2: do it. Do they play anymore? They don't play in
- 5:10Speaker 2: city anymore, do they? No?
- 5:12Speaker 1: They play another one in Philly. How many games? Krats
- 5:15Speaker 1: three or three more?
- 5:16Speaker 3: I think it's three more. I think it's yeah.
- 5:18Speaker 2: I just don't know if they can make up those games.
- 5:20Speaker 2: But yeah, It's a nice win for the Mets. It's
- 5:22Speaker 2: definitely sends a statement that the Phillies don't want to
- 5:25Speaker 2: play the Mets.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Might be playing them in Philly.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Yeah, but still I don't know the Mets. They're going
- 5:32Speaker 2: to go into that that series with some serious.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Mojo, confidence, mojo whatever. I'm I can't wait to watch
- 5:41Speaker 3: Jonah Toong pitch if. I mean, how many times do
- 5:45Speaker 3: you get to see two rookies thrust into a rotation
- 5:50Speaker 3: when the team needs it. I get it. The Reds
- 5:52Speaker 3: are falling off now. I think they're four and a
- 5:54Speaker 3: half back, so you know, maybe they don't need it,
- 5:59Speaker 3: but this pitching stay if, in my opinion, needs it.
- 6:02Speaker 3: Jonah Tung's gonna bring some serious, some serious funk too.
- 6:06Speaker 3: He had I think he had like one hundred and
- 6:08Speaker 3: double a had like one hundred and sixty strikeouts and
- 6:11Speaker 3: one hundred innings.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Like.
- 6:13Speaker 3: This guy is another athletic pitcher who's able to move
- 6:16Speaker 3: the ball around the strike zone. And I guess give
- 6:20Speaker 3: him length. I mean, we'll see, we'll see. I mean,
- 6:23Speaker 3: Mendy was like, just keep going out there. Last night,
- 6:25Speaker 3: He's like, just go, just go, just pitch. What if
- 6:27Speaker 3: someone else throw in the ninth inning.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Krats. If you need to pay rent for your apartment
- 6:33Speaker 1: and you're not getting anything for it, then you probably
- 6:35Speaker 1: haven't heard of Built.
- 6:38Speaker 3: You have to pay rent every single month, why not
- 6:40Speaker 3: get some points that you can redeem for other things
- 6:43Speaker 3: that are a lot more fun than paying rent, like flights, hotels,
- 6:46Speaker 3: uber rides.
- 6:48Speaker 1: That's right, and it doesn't stop there. Built is about
- 6:51Speaker 1: making your entire neighborhood more rewarding. You can dine at

- 7:13Speaker 1: working for you, and you can earn points on rent
- 7:15Speaker 1: and around your neighborhood wherever you call home by going
- 7:18Speaker 1: to join Built dot com slash foul that's j o
- 7:22Speaker 1: I n b I lt dot com slash f o
- 7:24Speaker 1: u L. Make sure to use our ur l so
- 7:26Speaker 1: they know that FT sent you get after it four
- 7:31Speaker 1: games September eighth through September eleventh, Mets Phillies four gamer.
- 7:35Speaker 1: So if the Mets are within a couple of games.
- 7:38Speaker 2: That could be fun. It's gonna be fun regardless because
- 7:41Speaker 2: Philly fans are gonna be fired up, and we're be like,
- 7:42Speaker 2: oh yeah, Cityfield fans, watch as we can do at
- 7:44Speaker 2: the bank, watch how we can do this. We'll throw
- 7:47Speaker 2: stuff at you, will boo you.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Ten games now that the Mets have beaten the Phillies
- 7:52Speaker 1: in at City Field ten.
- 7:53Speaker 2: And shooting the postseason lastion where I was there and
- 7:55Speaker 2: they put that was the whole thing was Phillies were
- 7:58Speaker 2: favorite heavy over the Mets, and they want to New
- 8:00Speaker 2: York and got smashed because all the hope was that
- 8:03Speaker 2: Wheeler would come back in Game five and save the
- 8:05Speaker 2: Phillies and it didn't happen.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Twenty one for thirty seven with runners in the scoring
- 8:09Speaker 1: position in that series. I mean, you can't do much
- 8:11Speaker 1: better than that.
- 8:11Speaker 2: It's as good as it gets for a three game series.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Five straight hits against Taiwan Walker to start the third
- 8:16Speaker 1: inning and it was on and.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Tiwan Walker is still a playoff starter for you.
- 8:20Speaker 3: There.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Cratzy after his performance.
- 8:23Speaker 3: I don't think he was the playoff start every four I
- 8:26Speaker 3: wouldn't say. I wouldn't say I was in that camp.
- 8:28Speaker 3: But hey, he's had he's had. I mean, he has
- 8:31Speaker 3: given them some innings and he was willing to throw
- 8:34Speaker 3: out the bullpen earlier in this year. Like I get it.
- 8:37Speaker 3: He complained at the end of last year because he
- 8:39Speaker 3: wasn't in the rotation or he wasn't in the playoff
- 8:41Speaker 3: Frost I mean, but to me, he's he's earned his
- 8:45Speaker 3: innings so far, and it's been huge for him because
- 8:48Speaker 3: they need it.
- 8:51Speaker 1: If you give Northeast fans an inch of a storyline,
- 8:55Speaker 1: they will grab no. Twenty miles of course, microphone signed,
- 9:01Speaker 1: fake mics in the stands. It is on there. You
- 9:05Speaker 1: got to look at that.
- 9:08Speaker 3: A hanger.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Also, it looks like it's the top to a cake
- 9:13Speaker 1: or a.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Potat right, it looked like a tupperware.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Yeah, tupperware. Very creative, parabolic, microphonest.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Fans have fun with you. Gotta get you gotta grasp
- 9:21Speaker 2: onto things. During the season, it's so long, so good
- 9:23Speaker 2: for you Met fans, Good for you Mets for sweeping
- 9:26Speaker 2: the Phillies. Now you got four games left with them.
- 9:29Speaker 2: You gotta win them all.
- 9:30Speaker 1: A week and a half ago, Mets fans were like,
- 9:32Speaker 1: we're going to miss the playoffs. So you know they
- 9:34Speaker 1: were going to miss the playoffs. I didn't, Yes you did.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Mets fans were like, we're screwed. We have no rotation,
- 9:39Speaker 1: we can't hit, we can't deliver with runners in scoring position.
- 9:41Speaker 1: By the way, look at Juan Soto's last like ten
- 9:43Speaker 1: to fifteen at bats with runners in scoring position too. Actually,
- 9:47Speaker 1: we have a beat on it. His last eleven played
- 9:50Speaker 1: appearances with runners in scoring position. Now half of them.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Aj is not gonna love but walked, yes, walk single walk,
- 9:59Speaker 1: home run, single walk, walk, single walk, single single Right,
- 10:04Speaker 1: that's his game.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Oh seven or sixty five million, you better do that.
- 10:07Speaker 1: It's sain and that really plays in the playoffs when
- 10:11Speaker 1: the heat is is on and he just never gives
- 10:16Speaker 1: in that bad a way sometimes. Yes, I know you
- 10:19Speaker 1: want him to swing outside.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Not all the time.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Just you gotta pick, You gotta picking. The team's not
- 10:27Speaker 1: hitting right, like, hey, you can you can do that.
- 10:30Speaker 1: You can reach for one.
- 10:31Speaker 2: It's okay to put the ball in play and get
- 10:33Speaker 2: a hit.
- 10:33Speaker 1: And yeah, run, it's not in his DNA. He's Vato DNA.
- 10:38Speaker 1: It looks like Roman Anthony is gonna be like that,
- 10:40Speaker 1: and that's a certain type of player that front office
- 10:43Speaker 1: is drool over. So he's playing his game and it's
- 10:45Speaker 1: working right now for the Mats. So they take down
- 10:47Speaker 1: the Phillies. Let's finish with this. Which seems better Phillies
- 10:54Speaker 1: Phillies in the playoffs?
- 10:57Speaker 2: I just think they're better one through twenty six. I mean,
- 11:00Speaker 2: if McLean in Manaiah and Peterson and whoever else they
- 11:05Speaker 2: get out their singa pitch as well, well we'll see.
- 11:09Speaker 2: I mean, but yeah, I think that. You know, they
- 11:12Speaker 2: need Hellsley to bounce back. There's a lot more. I
- 11:14Speaker 2: feel like the Phillies are still a better team. Plus
- 11:16Speaker 2: their season, they've been through it so many times now.
- 11:18Speaker 2: I don't know. I just think the Phillies are right now.
- 11:21Speaker 2: But this could change in a week and Scott's still
- 11:23Speaker 2: picking the Reds to take the Mets out.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Now they're red They're done. It would be ironic if
- 11:28Speaker 1: you say that and Kratz says the Mets. But let's
- 11:30Speaker 1: throw it over to Krafts our reporter on the scene
- 11:33Speaker 1: in Pennsylvania. Which team is better?
- 11:35Speaker 3: Really? I think the Phillies. I think not even just
- 11:39Speaker 3: one through twenty six. I think just the guys you're
- 11:41Speaker 3: going to go to in the playoffs right now are better.
- 11:45Speaker 3: Can Ken Sanchez have a stinker like he had last time?
- 11:49Speaker 3: Absolutely not. Can Ranger stay out there too long and
- 11:54Speaker 3: give up the runs? Absolutely not. Can Jordan Romano pitching
- 11:58Speaker 3: the playoffs for him? No? Can Kyle Schwarber go oh
- 12:02Speaker 3: for I think twenty two in a series in the
- 12:04Speaker 3: playoffs against the Mets, No, absolutely not. But up until
- 12:07Speaker 3: that point, Kyle schwarberd hit a home run in fifteen
- 12:10Speaker 3: consecutive series, which is a crazy number to me. But
- 12:14Speaker 3: to tell you how how up and down he can be,
- 12:18Speaker 3: he went oh for this series, and the fifteen previous
- 12:22Speaker 3: he had hit a home run. So I still think
- 12:24Speaker 3: it's the Phillies. But I'll be honest, I want to
- 12:27Speaker 3: see him. I want to see him face off in
- 12:29Speaker 3: the playoffs somehow, some I don't know what round, some rounds.
- 12:35Speaker 1: You decide, fans listening right now, which team do you
- 12:39Speaker 1: think is better, just straight up, which do you think
- 12:41Speaker 1: is better more of a threat to win a World Series?
- 12:44Speaker 1: To tick down a team like the Dodgers or the
- 12:48Speaker 1: Padres or the Cubs or the Breweries in a postseason series. Hey,
- 12:52Speaker 1: Jamison ty On back on the injured list and Aberra
- 12:55Speaker 1: Saide gets called up. Any concern there or should we
- 12:59Speaker 1: just be looking at Kate Horton, Like, Oh.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Horton's been Horton's been really really good. He's he's been
- 13:06Speaker 2: the real deal for a while now. I mean him
- 13:07Speaker 2: and him Naga Tyo will be nice to have there.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Sad was one of the guys that were counting on
- 13:11Speaker 2: until he didn't perform, and it was down in Iowa.
- 13:14Speaker 2: So I listen, this is this is a blow for
- 13:17Speaker 2: the Cubby Bears. But Horton's been so good. It's he
- 13:21Speaker 2: He's covered up a lot. They gotta swing it though,
- 13:23Speaker 2: they gotta, They gotta get back on track offensively.
- 13:27Speaker 3: I'm confused why I said is down in Triple A.
- 13:30Speaker 3: I'm not seeing any last year to three seven e
- 13:33Speaker 3: r A and twenty nine starts this.
- 13:38Speaker 1: He messed a lot of time.
- 13:40Speaker 2: Yeah, that's big to me.
- 13:41Speaker 3: That's a big pickup. Then it sucks losing Tywn, But
- 13:44Speaker 3: I think a team like the Cubs, they don't have
- 13:46Speaker 3: enough depth to lose anybody. So yes, I think it's tough.
- 13:51Speaker 1: It's not the swing man too.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, he's pitching the bullpen. He started. They thought
- 13:56Speaker 2: he was gonna be really good there, so we'll see.
- 13:59Speaker 2: We'll see.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Yeah, he had a moment, but.
- 14:04Speaker 2: He's been up and down. If they had Justin Steele
- 14:05Speaker 2: would be different. We'd be having a different conversation with
- 14:09Speaker 2: the Cubs, especially with Horton. You're right and show Yeah,
- 14:15Speaker 2: if you go him and Nauga steel Horton, that's a
- 14:18Speaker 2: pretty good one two three.
- 14:19Speaker 1: That was the dream for them. He is powered by
- 14:26Speaker 1: Arena Club. Oh hello, show hey TONI first time completing
- 14:30Speaker 1: five innings this year one run, two hits, two walks,
- 14:32Speaker 1: nine strikeouts in eighty seven pitches against the Cincinnati Reds,
- 14:38Speaker 1: a season high nine punch outs fourteen of twenty nine
- 14:41Speaker 1: whiffs on curveballs and sweepers. He didn't unleash that curveball
- 14:45Speaker 1: crats until earlier this month August sixth. Then he barely
- 14:49Speaker 1: threw it the next few starts and then boom. I
- 14:51Speaker 1: didn't get the final count yesterday, but just watching him,
- 14:55Speaker 1: I saw many You probably threw more curveballs and this
- 15:00Speaker 1: last outing than he did the entire year. So here
- 15:04Speaker 1: comes another one in the arsenal. I think seven different
- 15:07Speaker 1: pitch types in the first inning for him alone, scaling
- 15:10Speaker 1: seventy six to ninety nine miles an hour. When people
- 15:13Speaker 1: were like, oh, this is show hate the same, he
- 15:15Speaker 1: was in a little bit of a rut on the mound.
- 15:16Speaker 1: It's like, actually, he's still building up to October, show
- 15:21Speaker 1: Hey on the mound? Do you believe that?
- 15:24Speaker 3: Do Do I believe that? Yes? Absolutely, I believe it.
- 15:27Speaker 3: This is his eleventh start, eleventh start, and he's doing
- 15:31Speaker 3: it against big league teams. He's doing it against the
- 15:33Speaker 3: Reds team here today. Yeah, shadows might have been a
- 15:36Speaker 3: little bit tough to see, but this team, like this
- 15:39Speaker 3: is a team that was supposed to be good, whether
- 15:41Speaker 3: we think they're good or not. They were making a
- 15:43Speaker 3: playoff run and for him to go five, for him
- 15:47Speaker 3: to get through it in the amount of pitches he did,
- 15:50Speaker 3: this is huge for this team. Yesterday we talked about
- 15:53Speaker 3: if Kershall should be if Kershall should be in the rotation.
- 15:58Speaker 3: Is Kershall gonna push show Hey out? Are they going
- 16:00Speaker 3: to tandem start? Who gets to start? Well, it has
- 16:04Speaker 3: to be show Hey or else you lose the spot
- 16:06Speaker 3: in the lineup. But what he's done to be able
- 16:10Speaker 3: to continue to hit like he has and pitch now
- 16:15Speaker 3: like he is. To me, he's on track from where
- 16:18Speaker 3: the Dodgers would want him to be able to be
- 16:20Speaker 3: ready to be one of their guys to start a
- 16:23Speaker 3: game in the postseason.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Sorry, there's a golf ball bouncing in the parking lot
- 16:30Speaker 2: right next to us. What Yep, no one yelled for either.
- 16:34Speaker 2: Someone's gonna start start yelling four. But yeah, this is
- 16:37Speaker 2: great for the Dodgers. Uh show Hey, getting back to
- 16:40Speaker 2: being giving them length. And this is this is the
- 16:42Speaker 2: only option really for him to pitch in the postseasons
- 16:45Speaker 2: to start a game, start games because but we've we've
- 16:49Speaker 2: beaten a bullpend thing to death that he can't really
- 16:51Speaker 2: do it. It doesn't work with him being the d H.
- 16:53Speaker 2: So yeah, if he wants he's going to pitch in
- 16:55Speaker 2: the postseason, he has to start. And this is a
- 16:57Speaker 2: this is the steps in the right direction. He looked good.
- 17:00Speaker 2: And by the way, let's not say, let's not pretend
- 17:02Speaker 2: the Reds with the twenty seven Yankees, all right, or
- 17:04Speaker 2: the bomb squad with the Twins a couple of years ago.
- 17:06Speaker 2: The Reds have been good and it been alive because
- 17:08Speaker 2: they could pitch. They're mid team, they're mid offensively right,
- 17:11Speaker 2: But it's still great to see him do what he
- 17:12Speaker 2: does because show Hey showcased all the pitches, he showcased
- 17:15Speaker 2: the velocity, He did everything he needed to do, you know,
- 17:18Speaker 2: continue to build up and they get him to one
- 17:19Speaker 2: hundred pitches. But then the question is you know inings limit?
- 17:21Speaker 2: Is he on an inings limit? Well, we'll see, but
- 17:24Speaker 2: I just think that this is a good step in
- 17:26Speaker 2: the right direction. But show Hey to pitch in the
- 17:28Speaker 2: postseasons has to start and is he one of the
- 17:31Speaker 2: best three or four starters I have?
- 17:33Speaker 1: I feel like he knows himself so well at this point.
- 17:35Speaker 1: He does something that nobody else does, and he recognizes
- 17:39Speaker 1: where the Dodgers are in their season. So yeah, you
- 17:42Speaker 1: ease up the innings, you ease in the pitches. You know,
- 17:45Speaker 1: pitches cause more of a strain on the body, right
- 17:48Speaker 1: usually breakers.
- 17:51Speaker 2: No, because sometimes people say the fastball when you get
- 17:53Speaker 2: to you know, you really put the torque on it,
- 17:55Speaker 2: for the fastball is the one If we knew the
- 17:58Speaker 2: answer to that, Scott, we tell people's stop doing things.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Do you think certain pitchers feel more strained from certain pitches.
- 18:05Speaker 2: I think everyone's built differently. It just depends on how
- 18:08Speaker 2: you throw pitches. I don't think that there's one scientific
- 18:10Speaker 2: thing that says, because if you watch all this stuff,
- 18:12Speaker 2: they're saying, you know, full effort puts so much strain
- 18:15Speaker 2: on the elbow throwing a fastball. And then some people
- 18:17Speaker 2: think it's when you you really rip the breaking ball down.
- 18:20Speaker 2: You know, some people they said for years it's splits
- 18:23Speaker 2: for bad for an elbow because of the way the
- 18:24Speaker 2: ball came out of your hands. Nobody knows. If they knew,
- 18:27Speaker 2: they'd fix it. No way, he really knows.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Twenty three curveballs twenty six percent of his pitches. I
- 18:33Speaker 1: could have looked down at notes and seeing that he
- 18:36Speaker 1: had thrown eleven combined through his first ten starts, really
- 18:39Speaker 1: none for so.
- 18:39Speaker 2: He mixed it out. Ever, he's feeling comfortable and he
- 18:41Speaker 2: wants to throw some breaking Balls's make good. It's good.
- 18:44Speaker 1: The more he's got, the better.
- 18:45Speaker 2: True.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Usually that's the case. I mean, unless you're Darvish and
- 18:48Speaker 1: you have fifteen pitches and you gotta go down to
- 18:51Speaker 1: ten or something. But here's Alton Gonzalez with more information
- 18:55Speaker 1: on Otani and the curveball on that we're looking out
- 18:58Speaker 1: on the screen basically what we were saying here, and
- 19:00Speaker 1: just gave up the Noel B. Marte homer. Aside from that,
- 19:02Speaker 1: I mean, this was the most impressive outing from him.
- 19:05Speaker 1: And then he had to lead off the next half
- 19:07Speaker 1: inning and was hustling back. Did you see him. He
- 19:10Speaker 1: kind of took a deep breath and then he was like,
- 19:12Speaker 1: oh crap, yeah dug out.
- 19:15Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I think I think if you have another
- 19:19Speaker 3: good example, Shane Bieber took seven starts in the minor
- 19:23Speaker 3: leagues to come off with Tommy John, not saying they
- 19:25Speaker 3: had the same thing internal bracing Tommy John whatever, we're
- 19:30Speaker 3: splitting hairs, but he said he felt like he needed
- 19:34Speaker 3: all seven of those starts. He said may have felt
- 19:36Speaker 3: a little excessive, but he wanted to make sure he
- 19:39Speaker 3: was ready when he's in the big leagues.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Show.
- 19:41Speaker 3: He's done this in the big leagues. He's built himself
- 19:45Speaker 3: up in the big league. So if you think Shane
- 19:47Speaker 3: Bieber is an option for the Blue Jays, show, hey,
- 19:50Speaker 3: clearly has to be an option.
- 19:54Speaker 1: When you watch an outing like that yesterday. Kratz, do
- 19:56Speaker 1: you feel differently about the Dodgers world series chances.
- 20:06Speaker 3: Differently, How did I feel about it before?
- 20:09Speaker 1: I don't know. You tell me how did you feel
- 20:11Speaker 1: about them? And then how do you feel when you
- 20:13Speaker 1: see an outing like that and think could this guy
- 20:16Speaker 1: be a number one in October? That dominates?
- 20:22Speaker 3: Will he ever be a number one? I don't know.
- 20:24Speaker 3: I don't know if show he will ever be a
- 20:26Speaker 3: number one.
- 20:27Speaker 2: He wasn't number one when he was pitching Ranheim?
- 20:29Speaker 1: Was I think he's a one? I mean, my only
- 20:31Speaker 1: thing was you got to get back to the length.
- 20:32Speaker 1: But now that you got to five, which is what.
- 20:35Speaker 2: Everyone's got to do these days, more throwing the postseason anyway,
- 20:38Speaker 2: last night, the question is is he one of the
- 20:39Speaker 2: best four for the Dodgers? The Glass, Nell, snell, Ya, Momoto,
- 20:42Speaker 2: and Kershall the way he's been pitching number one?
- 20:45Speaker 1: Line up their rotation. Okay, you've got you've got a
- 20:49Speaker 1: four game or a best of seven. You need four starters.
- 20:55Speaker 1: Who are your starting pitchers for the Dodgers? If they're
- 20:57Speaker 1: all intact here?
- 21:00Speaker 3: Glass, now, snell, Yelmamoto, Show, Hey, and it kills me,
- 21:06Speaker 3: kills me to not.
- 21:07Speaker 2: Have probably gonna be one. He's probably gonna start Game
- 21:09Speaker 2: one Yepylmoto. Then I would think they'd go Snell then
- 21:13Speaker 2: probably Glass. Now, then you make a decision between show
- 21:16Speaker 2: Hey and Kershaw. I like I like Glass now.
- 21:20Speaker 3: I like Glass on game three just because your bullpen
- 21:25Speaker 3: is rested from the day off after game two. I
- 21:28Speaker 3: like that because he can just go out and he
- 21:31Speaker 3: can throw his hundred pitches at one hundred and two
- 21:34Speaker 3: miles an hour in four or five innings, probably racked
- 21:38Speaker 3: up eight or ten strikeouts. To me, I think that
- 21:41Speaker 3: game that Game four is dictator who starts. That is
- 21:44Speaker 3: dictated based on how the series is. If you're considering
- 21:48Speaker 3: between Clayton and show Hey, I just don't know if
- 21:51Speaker 3: you can skip an entire series of not having show
- 21:54Speaker 3: Hey pitch like if you can go game four and
- 21:58Speaker 3: Kershall closes it out because Yamamono is not coming back
- 22:02Speaker 3: for game five like other teams, so they may be
- 22:04Speaker 3: the only team that needs five starters in the playoffs.
- 22:08Speaker 1: Ft FAM. Welcome to the World's most Comfortable Swimwear. For
- 22:12Speaker 1: a moment, we are talking about Fair Harbor. We actually
- 22:16Speaker 1: have some show and tell today. This is the liner
- 22:19Speaker 1: that you're working with inside of the shorts and the
- 22:24Speaker 1: bathing suits.
- 22:25Speaker 2: You know what the best part is about this guy?
- 22:27Speaker 2: What they have a lot of different options because these
- 22:29Speaker 2: are clearly yours because I would never order this pattern,
- 22:31Speaker 2: but that is so mazing on that is so many
- 22:33Speaker 2: these are so you.
- 22:34Speaker 3: Mine are a little bit.
- 22:35Speaker 2: More plain than this, yes, but they are super comfortable.
- 22:38Speaker 2: The liner. I love liner shorts. Some people don't, but
- 22:40Speaker 2: these liners are better than most that I've had on,
- 22:43Speaker 2: if not all of them.
- 22:44Speaker 1: Yeah, this is the best liner out there, no mash.
- 22:47Speaker 1: All the above is perfect exactly. It's really good. You
- 22:50Speaker 1: got to give it a shot. Also, fun random fact,
- 22:53Speaker 1: you get a new shirt, it smells really good. So
- 22:55Speaker 1: head to Fairharbor Clothing dot com slash found use code
- 22:58Speaker 1: foul for twenty percent off your first purchase. Once again,
- 23:01Speaker 1: Bear Harbor h A R B O R Clothing dot
- 23:03Speaker 1: com backslash fou l for twenty percent off your first
- 23:06Speaker 1: purchase and use that promo code foul So they know
- 23:08Speaker 1: FT sent. Yet it's not a bad point. Wat Yamamoto
- 23:13Speaker 1: at his most effective when he's got extra extra days.
- 23:17Speaker 1: That's an interesting point. So maybe they do use all
- 23:19Speaker 1: five because that's the question with Kershaw. I mean, he's
- 23:21Speaker 1: not gonna be out of the bullpen.
- 23:24Speaker 2: No, right, Clayton starts are done, not on ros faster.
- 23:28Speaker 3: Yeah, he's on the roster.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Even if he doesn't any starting, he's gonna start.
- 23:36Speaker 3: I'm saying he's gonna start. I'm not saying where he's
- 23:38Speaker 3: gonna start. But you can't you can't not have him start.
- 23:42Speaker 3: He has to. He has to be a guy that
- 23:44Speaker 3: is in. You're not going to go to him. I
- 23:46Speaker 3: know we talked about Verlander last year, but it is
- 23:49Speaker 3: way different case. All Kershaw ever does when he takes
- 23:53Speaker 3: the ball is goes out there and gives you what
- 23:56Speaker 3: is needed. I don't care. I don't. I don't like
- 23:58Speaker 3: the whole talk about posting he's in. Kershaw don't because
- 24:01Speaker 3: I think the next start will always be his best start.
- 24:08Speaker 1: To me, it's beyond postseason. Kershaw at this point is not.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Good moments in the postseason. Like early he was really
- 24:14Speaker 2: bad early, like but it's mostly against Saint Louis. But
- 24:17Speaker 2: he's been a lot better, I mean for a long time,
- 24:19Speaker 2: he said moments.
- 24:20Speaker 1: Yeah, does his stuff play against the top offenses the
- 24:23Speaker 1: same way?
- 24:24Speaker 3: Like?
- 24:24Speaker 2: Is there played against everyone every team's face this year? Yeah,
- 24:27Speaker 2: I don't know who he's pitching against, but every team
- 24:29Speaker 2: he's pitching against he's been fine.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Now you want, I mean, you want the best stuff out. Okay,
- 24:34Speaker 1: so I'm just so dark.
- 24:36Speaker 2: Show Hey, Piggybackershaw, I don't know.
- 24:38Speaker 1: No, he doesn't. I don't think he'll there.
- 24:39Speaker 2: He is against the team. He just so it was
- 24:41Speaker 2: so good the Reds.
- 24:43Speaker 1: You're the one who's all over the Reds.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Our offense is not that good.
- 24:47Speaker 1: It's not.
- 24:47Speaker 2: If they could hit, they'd be a lot better because
- 24:49Speaker 2: their pitching has been really good.
- 24:53Speaker 1: Okay, so five man rotation, a very rare five rotation
- 24:57Speaker 1: in the playoffs.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think it's gonna happen, because you're gonna want.
- 25:02Speaker 1: Even even believers. How is this working?
- 25:06Speaker 2: I don't know. That's what's gonna be fascinating to see
- 25:08Speaker 2: what they do with Otni. They now they might back
- 25:09Speaker 2: Otani off and say, listen, Show, hey, you're at your
- 25:12Speaker 2: limit since you just had your second elbow surgery, and
- 25:15Speaker 2: this is that be their excuse to get out of it?
- 25:17Speaker 1: Does Otany have to start or could you midgame him?
- 25:20Speaker 2: You can't because then you lose the DH when you
- 25:21Speaker 2: take them out. You can't do that that's the whole thing.
- 25:26Speaker 1: You can't do that.
- 25:27Speaker 2: He has to start or he does not pitch unless
- 25:30Speaker 2: he comes in and closes, and you just hope and
- 25:33Speaker 2: pray that he doesn't blow it. But they also haven't
- 25:36Speaker 2: done that. So at some point, if they're gonna make
- 25:39Speaker 2: him the closer, they're gonna have to start getting him
- 25:41Speaker 2: ready to do that. Because what happens if it's the
- 25:43Speaker 2: bottom of the they're in Dodger Stadium, it's game seven
- 25:46Speaker 2: of the World Series. Show, hey, hits a lead off
- 25:48Speaker 2: double and he oh, by the way, we're tied, and
- 25:50Speaker 2: he's the goal ahead run. He scores the goal ahead
- 25:52Speaker 2: run with two outs, and they're like, hey, show, you're
- 25:54Speaker 2: closing the night. He hasn't thrown. They can't do it.
- 25:57Speaker 1: Okay, they can't do it w your four bests, tough
- 26:00Speaker 1: guys in the playoffs. And if that's the case, you're
- 26:03Speaker 1: gonna sacrifice a reliever.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Yes, we'll see that.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Yama Moto can get an extra day in a four
- 26:08Speaker 1: game series.
- 26:09Speaker 2: Yeah you want four?
- 26:10Speaker 1: Yeah, they have to get through a wild card round first,
- 26:12Speaker 1: most likely, or like.
- 26:13Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not keep playing a city the Dodgers.
- 26:18Speaker 3: The Dodgers have the Dodgers have been to the postseason enough.
- 26:23Speaker 3: They understand Dave Roberts was masterful in the use of
- 26:28Speaker 3: the bullpen. They understand their goal is to get twenty
- 26:32Speaker 3: seven outs each night. And to me, I think with
- 26:35Speaker 3: Kershaw and Showhey as starting pitchers, how it works out.
- 26:40Speaker 3: I think it'll depend on what round they're in the
- 26:42Speaker 3: three the three game wild Card series, or they get
- 26:46Speaker 3: a buye in the first round, whatever it is. I
- 26:49Speaker 3: think that's how they're gonna I think that's how they're
- 26:51Speaker 3: gonna deploy it, which is a bonus compared to last
- 26:55Speaker 3: year where they had to start two or have two
- 26:57Speaker 3: complete bullpen games. Their bullpen not in that kind of
- 27:00Speaker 3: shape right now. They may heal up by the end
- 27:02Speaker 3: of September, but not right now. They're not.
- 27:06Speaker 1: And also, you generally are doing those bullpen games on
- 27:09Speaker 1: a need basis. Yeah, and that was the case for
- 27:12Speaker 1: them and it worked out well enough. Yeah, all right,
- 27:16Speaker 1: ft fam, you know about Arena Club. We've shown you
- 27:19Speaker 1: a bunch of different options on the screen, including that
- 27:21Speaker 1: show Hey fifty to fifty card that I pulled. I mean,
- 27:26Speaker 1: he's not going to do that again, is he? No?
- 27:29Speaker 2: Not this year?
- 27:30Speaker 1: No?
- 27:30Speaker 2: He actually four years now. He's not getting stolen bases.
- 27:33Speaker 1: This year, right, But let's say three four years from now,
- 27:36Speaker 1: if he if he stops pitching eventually and he becomes
- 27:38Speaker 1: an outfielder, he might fifty to fifty again.
- 27:41Speaker 2: He could probably get He could probably do it. He
- 27:43Speaker 2: could have done He could probably do it this year
- 27:44Speaker 2: if they'd let him run. But remember he hurt his
- 27:45Speaker 2: shoulder last year in the playoffs, and so they're very
- 27:48Speaker 2: leery of him doing anything to hurt himself. They need
- 27:51Speaker 2: him more just in the lineup. So if he only
- 27:54Speaker 2: gets thirty five stolen bases this year's still pretty good.
- 27:56Speaker 3: Years saving the team. It's crazy.
- 28:01Speaker 1: That's why I'm holding onto that one. It might be
- 28:03Speaker 1: the only season of show a fifty to fifty cards
- 28:06Speaker 1: used to code ful foul for twenty percent off your
- 28:08Speaker 1: first slab pack or card purchase. Hey did you see
- 28:10Speaker 1: this article in the Athletic about the Bananas. I mean
- 28:13Speaker 1: there were two notable parts. One is they're trying to
- 28:15Speaker 1: get them involved in the Midsummer Classic, and two is
- 28:18Speaker 1: they kind of apologize for bringing up the golden at
- 28:21Speaker 1: bat rule. I'll comment on the first one. How about
- 28:24Speaker 1: you replace the celebrity All Star Softball game.
- 28:28Speaker 2: With a banana ball, Banana ball games, banana bolversus, like
- 28:31Speaker 2: the MLB alumni something like that. Yeah, come to see
- 28:34Speaker 2: that and try to get guys from the team they're
- 28:37Speaker 2: in Philly next year. They get a bunch of Philly guys,
- 28:39Speaker 2: you know Howard, Ryan Howard and Jimmy Rollins and Kratz
- 28:42Speaker 2: and Jason Worth and all those guys that that that
- 28:46Speaker 2: wanna that are Phillies guys. Now, you might have to
- 28:49Speaker 2: bring in some guys from other teams, but yeah, I
- 28:51Speaker 2: think it would be pretty cool. Get you get that done.
- 28:54Speaker 2: Pretty awesome.
- 28:54Speaker 3: So know that anybody that was an ex All Star
- 28:58Speaker 3: could be the All Star alum game confusing. People back
- 29:02Speaker 3: in the game love him.
- 29:03Speaker 1: They said, they don't have room for the banana game.
- 29:06Speaker 2: Stop celebrity game, the celebrity game.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Or have some of the celebrities participated in the bananas
- 29:13Speaker 1: know how to run it better? Yeah, we all know
- 29:14Speaker 1: that that they.
- 29:15Speaker 2: Quick and incorporate the heck out of some celebrities.
- 29:17Speaker 1: Well, yeah, I'll bring up the Alex Corra quote about
- 29:20Speaker 1: Roman Anthony. He's opening up a little more as a person.
- 29:23Speaker 1: He's a cool kid. Sarcasm comes into play with him,
- 29:25Speaker 1: which is awesome.
- 29:25Speaker 3: We like it.
- 29:26Speaker 1: It's been fun. We were joking that we unlocked the
- 29:28Speaker 1: real Roman after he signed a big contract. That tracks
- 29:31Speaker 1: for some guys, right.
- 29:32Speaker 2: Some guys get comfortable. I mean, look at Schooble number
- 29:36Speaker 2: Terrek School, nobody really knew who he was, and then
- 29:38Speaker 2: he went went off usher whens of Cy Young and
- 29:40Speaker 2: now he's one of the best interviews on FT and
- 29:42Speaker 2: and all around baseball. So sometimes guys just need to
- 29:45Speaker 2: be comfortable. Once they're comfortable, they let it out.
- 29:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:48Speaker 1: I mean, you know that when you sign a contract,
- 29:51Speaker 1: you can basically speak your mind. Kratz. I feel like
- 29:55Speaker 1: we often have that conversation like, oh, pre contract, guy
- 29:58Speaker 1: is probably gonna be a little more team.
- 30:03Speaker 3: Yeah, no, you don't want to. You don't want to
- 30:04Speaker 3: ruin it for that for that contract that could be coming.
- 30:08Speaker 3: And you know, once you get a contract, especially in Boston,
- 30:11Speaker 3: maybe just you say I don't want to play a
- 30:13Speaker 3: certain position, and you know they feel more comfortable to
- 30:15Speaker 3: be able to say that, right.
- 30:19Speaker 1: You guys tell me. I think so. Boston media, Boston
- 30:24Speaker 1: attention in general can be tough at a high level
- 30:28Speaker 1: and tough and for the first couple of months, it
- 30:30Speaker 1: was like, oh, Roman Anthony, he's pretty quiet.
- 30:33Speaker 2: You better be real secure in yourself to go play there.
- 30:35Speaker 2: And then once you sign the deal, you can kind
- 30:36Speaker 2: of let it out. But until until you get a
- 30:38Speaker 2: little security you you have to really watch it because
- 30:42Speaker 2: they take, like we mentioned Northeast, they take any small
- 30:45Speaker 2: thing and make a mountain out of it.
- 30:46Speaker 1: I also think teams are looking at you and listening
- 30:49Speaker 1: to you.
- 30:49Speaker 2: Of course, they're always a value team, they're always a valua.
- 30:53Speaker 1: But they can't evaluate you the same way once you sign.
- 30:56Speaker 1: It's true, right if you're like some guys give me sarcasm, Yeah,
- 31:00Speaker 1: it's like, well sucks you sign.
- 31:02Speaker 2: They're like, this guy's awesome.
- 31:04Speaker 1: But yeah, Usually I think it creates a better personality.
- 31:07Speaker 1: Sure someone right, most guys, it's not like, oh, turns
- 31:11Speaker 1: out he was a dick. Like it's like, turns out
- 31:15Speaker 1: he's funny. Turns a little bit now, Hey. Top blow
- 31:19Speaker 1: for the Milwaukee Brewers. We learned yesterday Trevor McGill hits
- 31:24Speaker 1: the injured list with a flexer stream in his flexer
- 31:26Speaker 1: string in his right arm. We'll test for the bullpen depths.
- 31:31Speaker 1: It could be low grade and he was down playing
- 31:35Speaker 1: it a little bit.
- 31:35Speaker 2: You know what this this means a rebate time, the
- 31:39Speaker 2: rebate tome Ariebey, Tom Rebay Tom Rebey time.
- 31:45Speaker 1: Wow, that was worth the price of admission right there,
- 31:48Speaker 1: Kratz and aj doing the avenue Rebay. I like it.
- 31:52Speaker 3: Our arms together aren't combined, aren't as long as his are,
- 31:56Speaker 3: so so it just looks different. It looks different when
- 31:59Speaker 3: certain people do differ celebrations. But this is this is
- 32:02Speaker 3: a huge blow. I get it. Every team has, you know,
- 32:06Speaker 3: knees their closer. Yes, they have a lot of depth,
- 32:10Speaker 3: but this guy was putting together from the start of
- 32:13Speaker 3: the season. He had a little blip at the beginning.
- 32:15Speaker 3: Since then he's been almost unhittable.
- 32:18Speaker 2: Now this last week though, no, he had not this
- 32:20Speaker 2: last week. He's had a big blip. That's why they
- 32:22Speaker 2: were like, oh, had this past week. This past week
- 32:26Speaker 2: has been not good as Villa was down a little bit.
- 32:28Speaker 2: So yeah, this is what they go.
- 32:32Speaker 1: Hopefully he's able to make it back. Yeah, they need
- 32:34Speaker 1: him some teams and closers.
- 32:36Speaker 2: Lately, someone had a funny joke, take a trade for
- 32:38Speaker 2: Devin Williams.
- 32:39Speaker 1: Wait, Yankees could cut him. There's a couple of days
- 32:44Speaker 1: to go to make that happen on. Yeah, you have
- 32:48Speaker 1: to be in an organization before the end of this month.
- 32:51Speaker 1: Today is the twenty eighth of August.
- 32:55Speaker 2: Dump deadline Scott's favorite day. Taking that.
- 32:58Speaker 1: I think the dump deadline because people have been asked me.
- 33:00Speaker 1: I'm the dump deadline guy. Now people haven't asked me.
- 33:02Speaker 1: I think it's tomorrow because I think it's forty eight
- 33:04Speaker 1: hours to clear or to get claimed.
- 33:07Speaker 2: Name of a guy that's gonna get dumped tomorrow.
- 33:08Speaker 1: Scott Devin Williams. No, Oh my gosh, who's getting dumped?
- 33:15Speaker 1: Anybody on the Rangers. There were a couple guys who
- 33:19Speaker 1: are free agents.
- 33:21Speaker 3: The main one I thought was gonna get dump was
- 33:23Speaker 3: he Andrew Heeney. If he's if he's owed, like he
- 33:27Speaker 3: already got dumped. He already got dumped. I'm saying that's
- 33:31Speaker 3: that's what I thought, and I assume he was. He's
- 33:33Speaker 3: gonna get picked up by somebody.
- 33:35Speaker 1: Carlo Santana got dumped. That made sense. You're looking for
- 33:39Speaker 1: those There's a new.
- 33:39Speaker 2: Pirate who was the other pirate one? There was another
- 33:41Speaker 2: pirate one, Tommy fam He didn't get deadline dump.
- 33:46Speaker 1: I know but why not the good, the bad, the ugly.
- 33:56Speaker 1: That's new. You haven't seen that, have you?
- 33:59Speaker 3: No?
- 33:59Speaker 2: I don't even know what that's for. What is what
- 34:01Speaker 2: are we doing here?
- 34:02Speaker 1: The new segment? I got that lady likes to create.
- 34:05Speaker 1: I like the segments. So you liked it, Okay, Kratz,
- 34:08Speaker 1: do you lead the charge? Clint Eastwood out there and like, yeah,
- 34:11Speaker 1: uniform the good. I know what the good is. We're
- 34:16Speaker 1: hitting the Yankees for a moment because we did crush
- 34:18Speaker 1: them from their disaster weekend and praised the Red Sox
- 34:22Speaker 1: for owning them this year. They know how to rebound,
- 34:26Speaker 1: all bends on who they play. You want to rebound,
- 34:28Speaker 1: let me give you a week of the Nationals and
- 34:31Speaker 1: then the White Sox Yankees run line all day eleven
- 34:36Speaker 1: to two in the end of the series. The Kapper
- 34:43Speaker 1: in that one and yeah, they really found it again, Krats.
- 34:49Speaker 3: Did they ever lose it or did it just go
- 34:51Speaker 3: dormant because they were facing teams that were able to
- 34:54Speaker 3: execute pitches. I mean in Washington, Washington consistently hasn't been
- 35:00Speaker 3: able to execute pitches. They have been a team that
- 35:03Speaker 3: just kind of goes out there and they don't have
- 35:05Speaker 3: a lot of experience, especially with Mackenzie Goren struggling for
- 35:10Speaker 3: the last half of the season, three quarter, probably just
- 35:13Speaker 3: half of the season. The Yankees are just they're gonna
- 35:16Speaker 3: hit dingers, Like this entire highlight. I just had laugh
- 35:20Speaker 3: as the picture in that highlight, like just put his
- 35:23Speaker 3: head down. They hit dingers, and you talk, we taught,
- 35:27Speaker 3: we complain about teams that don't hit dingers. They're not
- 35:29Speaker 3: gonna be able to do well in the playoffs. The
- 35:32Speaker 3: question of you guys that I have, can you hit
- 35:35Speaker 3: dingers to get to the World Series and win it?
- 35:39Speaker 2: What was the stats? Got? Always yells out there. Last
- 35:41Speaker 2: five teams have been on the floor.
- 35:44Speaker 1: I don't want to steal it from him.
- 35:46Speaker 3: Then I think it's something that I think it works
- 35:49Speaker 3: because clearly they made it last year and people say, well,
- 35:51Speaker 3: they don't have one Soto and they don't have this
- 35:54Speaker 3: guy in the rotation. They don't coal, you know. I
- 35:57Speaker 3: think Max Freed is going to step up. This team
- 35:59Speaker 3: is a very good team. I think their bullpen. Obviously
- 36:03Speaker 3: some of the pickups that they've had have not done great.
- 36:06Speaker 3: But bed NAR's in there, so to me, yes, Devin
- 36:11Speaker 3: Williams is not the Devin Williams of last year. But
- 36:14Speaker 3: I think this team is ready to go. I think
- 36:17Speaker 3: this team will go through ups and downs. So could
- 36:20Speaker 3: you see that. It's it's crazy because you can't sit
- 36:23Speaker 3: there and say, oh, this team is going to be
- 36:26Speaker 3: in the World Series again, definitively. But you also can't
- 36:31Speaker 3: even though it's just a National Series. You can't sit
- 36:33Speaker 3: there and go all, this team's definitively not going to
- 36:37Speaker 3: be you know, they're gonna get eliminated from the playoffs
- 36:40Speaker 3: or they're going to bounce in the first round. To me,
- 36:43Speaker 3: I think, yo, it's one of those. It's one of those.
- 36:46Speaker 3: Like this staff or this tweet from Jack Curry, the
- 36:49Speaker 3: Yankees saw seventy seven pitches from the Nats pitchers in
- 36:53Speaker 3: their nine run third inning at Atlanta's. Greg Maddox, who
- 36:57Speaker 3: we just had on the show tassa seventy eight pitch
- 37:01Speaker 3: complete game against the Cubs in on July twenty second,
- 37:06Speaker 3: nineteen ninety seven. That's crazy, that's crazy. Seventy seven pitches,
- 37:10Speaker 3: I think is the most since the stat Cast era
- 37:12Speaker 3: in two thousand and eight, and they did it in
- 37:16Speaker 3: one inning. Seventy seven pitches in one inning. That is
- 37:19Speaker 3: the stat that I was going to bring up, and
- 37:21Speaker 3: we talk about dingers. Yes, they hit a lot of homers.
- 37:25Speaker 3: They work the counts, they make pitchers work. I don't
- 37:29Speaker 3: care if it was a Gnats, I don't care if
- 37:31Speaker 3: it was what team it was. If it's the White Sox,
- 37:34Speaker 3: you have to win the games that you have to
- 37:37Speaker 3: win in front of you. Do they need to step
- 37:39Speaker 3: up in big games? Yes? Did they kind of fall
- 37:41Speaker 3: flat on their face the first three games of the
- 37:43Speaker 3: Red Sox series, Yes, but they are a dangerous team
- 37:48Speaker 3: that puts together at bats and there's not some kind
- 37:51Speaker 3: of organizational overhaul that we need to go with. And
- 37:57Speaker 3: you know what, the Yankees, they're prepared for the playoffs
- 38:02Speaker 3: with the roster that they have. I don't know if
- 38:04Speaker 3: it's gonna I don't know how it's gonna go. So
- 38:06Speaker 3: if you're asking me to choose on the Yankees, I'm
- 38:08Speaker 3: gonna be the most fifty to fifty that I could
- 38:11Speaker 3: be in one spot. But this team hits dingers, and
- 38:16Speaker 3: dingers win in the playoffs. Yeah, that's what he said.
- 38:19Speaker 1: That's what he said.
- 38:22Speaker 3: That's what he said.
- 38:23Speaker 1: That's what he said. Let's talk for a few minutes
- 38:28Speaker 1: about the Detroit Tigers. We got a quote from aj Hinch,
- 38:32Speaker 1: Well that's what he said as they fell yesterday to
- 38:35Speaker 1: the A's. There it is. We had a really bleepy series.
- 38:42Speaker 1: Bleepy is a different.
- 38:43Speaker 2: Word, but what is a bleepy series? Is that like
- 38:47Speaker 2: good or bad?
- 38:49Speaker 1: Should bleepy? Does that help?
- 38:51Speaker 3: Yes?
- 38:52Speaker 1: Okay, we had a really should bleepy series. We didn't
- 38:55Speaker 1: play well. I just wanted to give him the contexts
- 39:00Speaker 1: the bleep Okay, just making sure everyone caught that we
- 39:02Speaker 1: got beat in all facets. When you get out played
- 39:04Speaker 1: on offense, defense, pitching across the board, it's painful to
- 39:07Speaker 1: wait and painful to experience. As a team. We know
- 39:10Speaker 1: we're going to be better. Tiger's having a tough time
- 39:13Speaker 1: this week with the A's.
- 39:17Speaker 2: World hottest team right now, the well, it's perfect sacramental, Yeah,
- 39:22Speaker 2: because they're winning. Did I say easy over? How many
- 39:25Speaker 2: they wins they have now? Sixty three?
- 39:27Speaker 1: Yeah, they need about ten more for that.
- 39:29Speaker 2: They're over under going into the year was seventy one
- 39:32Speaker 2: point five.
- 39:35Speaker 1: That looks bad for a while when they lost like
- 39:37Speaker 1: twenty Have.
- 39:38Speaker 2: You watched what the West Sacramento a is doing the
- 39:40Speaker 2: second half the last like five years, they like duck
- 39:42Speaker 2: suck s x x sick. Then they go really good
- 39:44Speaker 2: and then idiots like me think, hey, this is the
- 39:46Speaker 2: year they get over the hill, and then they suck
- 39:48Speaker 2: sux sucks x suck for the first even then they
- 39:49Speaker 2: go right like the right.
- 39:50Speaker 1: So they might finish with what seventy five wins? Yeah
- 39:53Speaker 1: that sound right, something like that. All right, to where
- 39:55Speaker 1: are we out of the five years?
- 39:57Speaker 2: Know, if if they're at sixty would I say sixty
- 39:59Speaker 2: two or sixty thre rehold on? If they're they're at
- 40:02Speaker 2: sixty three right now, and they got about twenty seven
- 40:05Speaker 2: games left, so they go thirteen and fourteen. That puts
- 40:09Speaker 2: them at seventy six wins.
- 40:12Speaker 1: That's over where we added on the Tigers. They've lost
- 40:14Speaker 1: four games in a row.
- 40:15Speaker 2: Tigers are fine. Tigers are bored.
- 40:18Speaker 1: That's what I wanted out of you.
- 40:19Speaker 2: The Tigers are bored. They've got they're up eight and
- 40:22Speaker 2: a half games, they're they're they're they're up eight in
- 40:24Speaker 2: the lost calm. I mean they're bored right now.
- 40:26Speaker 1: Playing well, they're playing for home field.
- 40:28Speaker 2: Playing for home field, but they're gonna get the one
- 40:32Speaker 2: or two seeds. It's gonna be them in Toronto more
- 40:34Speaker 2: than likely with the one two seeds. So they're just bored.
- 40:36Speaker 2: They're just we're gonna win the division. Let's just keep
- 40:39Speaker 2: everybody healthy. Yes, they'd like to find another pitcher to
- 40:41Speaker 2: step up. They need for thirty to get going. I'll
- 40:44Speaker 2: see him on Saturday. I'll let you guys know what
- 40:45Speaker 2: he looks like in Kansas City. But you know, school
- 40:49Speaker 2: has been good. School has been human though the last
- 40:51Speaker 2: few starts. But the rest of this team they're just
- 40:54Speaker 2: going through. They're not I don't want to I every
- 40:55Speaker 2: want to say they're going through the motions, but there
- 40:57Speaker 2: there's no urgency. But they need to find that again
- 40:59Speaker 2: before where the postseason gets here so they can kick
- 41:02Speaker 2: it in. Because this is what teams always say, Oh
- 41:04Speaker 2: we had won the division by so many games, been
- 41:07Speaker 2: a hard time ramping it back up. Well, now Hanch
- 41:09Speaker 2: is time to light a fire and get these boys
- 41:11Speaker 2: ramp back up.
- 41:12Speaker 1: So Kratz, they play the Royals again for the next
- 41:14Speaker 1: view that carries over the weekend, and then they meet
- 41:16Speaker 1: up with the Mets. They'll be back at home for
- 41:18Speaker 1: that one to start early next week. Do teams opponents
- 41:24Speaker 1: good competition? Help to amp things up for a team
- 41:28Speaker 1: that can be in cruise control right now, or is
- 41:30Speaker 1: there something else that can be done? And does it
- 41:32Speaker 1: even matter at the end of the day. There have
- 41:34Speaker 1: been teams that have cruised into the playoffs and one
- 41:37Speaker 1: World Series titles. There are many examples of that doesn't matter.
- 41:42Speaker 3: I mean, I'm gonna say no and then everyone's going
- 41:44Speaker 3: to turn our show off because they're not going to
- 41:46Speaker 3: listen to us talk about it. But I think it
- 41:50Speaker 3: does matter because I think different series mean different things.
- 41:55Speaker 3: If you watched if you watched Charlie Morton, I actually
- 41:58Speaker 3: watched both his starts when he was with Baltimore, and
- 42:02Speaker 3: when he came into Oakland kept looking at the mound,
- 42:05Speaker 3: kept looking down like something's wrong with this thing. So
- 42:08Speaker 3: maybe that was part of it for the Tigers. Maybe
- 42:10Speaker 3: there's pitching staff didn't feel comfortable in the mound. If
- 42:14Speaker 3: you want to like bump up the bump up the momentum,
- 42:18Speaker 3: or bump up the adrenaline, go play a division opponent.
- 42:21Speaker 3: I think the Royal Series. While the Royals could sweep
- 42:24Speaker 3: them and they'd still be five and a half games back,
- 42:26Speaker 3: I'm not saying that they're going to catch them. I
- 42:28Speaker 3: just think there's a familiarity in the division and that
- 42:31Speaker 3: series will bring back the adrenaline if that's what the
- 42:36Speaker 3: Tigers need, more than the Mets series, where the Mets
- 42:39Speaker 3: are a better team than the Royals. But I think
- 42:41Speaker 3: that Royal series anytime you play in the division, that
- 42:44Speaker 3: rivalry has been there the last few years. I just
- 42:48Speaker 3: think I think that's where I think that's where they'll
- 42:50Speaker 3: get their a little bump of adrenaline if they need it.
- 42:53Speaker 3: You know, you don't want to limp into the playoffs,
- 42:56Speaker 3: but you also don't want to peak too early and
- 43:00Speaker 3: not be hitting on all cylinders. So the Tigers are fine.
- 43:04Speaker 1: I feel like you would have done something crazy if
- 43:06Speaker 1: you are on a team like this AJ just to
- 43:09Speaker 1: make sure that they're aware of where they're at.
- 43:12Speaker 2: I've been on teams with big leads, and I've been
- 43:14Speaker 2: went to two thousand and five White Tucks. At one point,
- 43:15Speaker 2: I think we had a fifteen game lead. They got
- 43:17Speaker 2: down to one and a half or two games against
- 43:20Speaker 2: when the old Indian Slash Guardians were there, and all
- 43:24Speaker 2: it took was them to come play us and Joe
- 43:26Speaker 2: Creedy hitting a walk off homer and from that point on,
- 43:28Speaker 2: we barely lost again and smashed everybody in the playoffs.
- 43:32Speaker 2: So it just sometimes you listen when they play the Royals,
- 43:35Speaker 2: they're in second place, they'll they'll they'll be there, and
- 43:38Speaker 2: then you know they have Flarty School and I don't
- 43:41Speaker 2: know who's Sunday, but I think that, and then they
- 43:44Speaker 2: get the Mets at home. They'll get back home. Plus
- 43:47Speaker 2: let's awso en not forget they went to Sacramno, it's
- 43:50Speaker 2: a triple A stadium with no atmosphere, no energy. And also,
- 43:56Speaker 2: if you look at it, this is not a knock
- 43:58Speaker 2: on the age, but they didn't have a good first
- 43:59Speaker 2: half of the times. Look at it and say, oh,
- 44:01Speaker 2: we can kind of coast through this one, right, and
- 44:03Speaker 2: it's hard to get up. Now they're going to Kansas City.
- 44:05Speaker 2: Kents City'll be rocking, they're in the division. Then they
- 44:07Speaker 2: go home for the Mets and there's gonna be an
- 44:09Speaker 2: energy in Old Comerica Park when the Mets come in.
- 44:12Speaker 2: So this this will get them going again.
- 44:15Speaker 1: Okay, Kratz, what would you do if you were a manager,
- 44:19Speaker 1: or we're a veteran guy in the clubhouse with the Tigers,
- 44:23Speaker 1: if you felt like the team needed you know a
- 44:27Speaker 1: little bit.
- 44:27Speaker 3: Of this manager nothing. That's the players thing to do.
- 44:32Speaker 3: If I'm a veteran guy, if I'm the if I'm
- 44:35Speaker 3: the Jake Rogers, the guy that's not playing every day,
- 44:37Speaker 3: if I'm me on that team, come in after you
- 44:42Speaker 3: just got swept out of Sacramento and you tell the boys,
- 44:46Speaker 3: turn the music up, turn the music up, turn you know,
- 44:50Speaker 3: turn the page. It's time to get onto the next series.
- 44:53Speaker 3: We're going into Kansas City. Kansas City, here we come play.
- 44:57Speaker 3: It almost like tricks your mind to think, you know what,
- 45:00Speaker 3: screw it. Sacramento did suck. The team came out and
- 45:03Speaker 3: they beat us, But the whole atmosphere walking out to
- 45:07Speaker 3: walking out the center field after a game that sucks, like,
- 45:11Speaker 3: let's go play a big in a big league stadium
- 45:13Speaker 3: in Kansas City and beat the brakes.
- 45:15Speaker 1: Off of them, and do you have a chance to
- 45:20Speaker 1: knock a division rival out of the playoff picture.
- 45:22Speaker 2: Nobody thinks about that.
- 45:24Speaker 1: You don't care about that.
- 45:25Speaker 2: Rivalries to me, aren't what they used to be. This
- 45:28Speaker 2: isn't twenty five, thirty five, forty five, fifty years ago
- 45:32Speaker 2: where that really mattered because guys switched teams so much
- 45:35Speaker 2: more now that we used to be a thing. I
- 45:37Speaker 2: remember when I was in the Central we'd be like, oh,
- 45:39Speaker 2: we got a chance to knock this team out or
- 45:41Speaker 2: knock that team out because we played like twenty times
- 45:44Speaker 2: a year. So you just got to the point where
- 45:45Speaker 2: you're like, I don't want I'm tired of seeing them.
- 45:47Speaker 2: I don't want to see them again. Now they play
- 45:50Speaker 2: what thirteen times a year, which didn't seem like a
- 45:52Speaker 2: big difference, those six games are huge difference. They guys
- 45:55Speaker 2: just don't think like that anymore. They just don't think like, oh,
- 45:57Speaker 2: they're in our division, we can knock them out. Because
- 46:00Speaker 2: if you're the Tiger's your thing. We've we've are this
- 46:03Speaker 2: much better than the Royals. If they get in and
- 46:04Speaker 2: we have to play them, we feel like we can
- 46:06Speaker 2: beat them. It's just a different mentality.
- 46:10Speaker 1: How do you feel about the American League playoff picture, Krats?
- 46:15Speaker 1: I feel like it's gonna be one of those situations
- 46:16Speaker 1: where you look at the field and you're the National
- 46:20Speaker 1: League side. There's a lot of talent. The American League
- 46:23Speaker 1: side is definitely a notch down. I I just have
- 46:28Speaker 1: a hard time predicting results on the National League or sorry,
- 46:32Speaker 1: on the American League side too. I mean, Tiger's really good,
- 46:35Speaker 1: Blue Jays are really good. But could the Mariners slay
- 46:39Speaker 1: either of those teams? Absolutely? Could the Yankees take down
- 46:42Speaker 1: either of those teams? Absolutely? Could the Red Sox take
- 46:45Speaker 1: down either of those teams? Yep? What do you think?
- 46:49Speaker 3: I think we have to watch the rest how September
- 46:52Speaker 3: plays out health wise, how September plays out in you
- 46:57Speaker 3: know who's swinging it for what teams, and ultimately that
- 47:01Speaker 3: Wildcard round could help an American League team. I say
- 47:05Speaker 3: that because some of these teams, now, of these teams
- 47:08Speaker 3: are really like built to be just a juggernaut of
- 47:10Speaker 3: the American League, where that day off is giving them
- 47:13Speaker 3: the break that they need and they're just gonna be
- 47:16Speaker 3: fresh and go. It might be one of these Wildcard
- 47:19Speaker 3: series teams, the four they play in the wild the
- 47:22Speaker 3: three game series and the Wildcards, they might say, you
- 47:25Speaker 3: know what, we never even got a break. We're just
- 47:29Speaker 3: not coming up for air. We're just gonna keep banging
- 47:31Speaker 3: and we're just gonna keep rolling. So to me, I
- 47:34Speaker 3: think they're all really muddled. I think the six teams
- 47:37Speaker 3: that are gonna be in the playoffs for the American League,
- 47:39Speaker 3: they're all kind of muddled, and it's gonna be a
- 47:42Speaker 3: matter of like Game one and Game two of playoffs
- 47:45Speaker 3: before I can really decide who I think is the best.
- 47:50Speaker 2: There is no clear cut favorite in either league for me,
- 47:52Speaker 2: not just the AO NL two D ed all teams.
- 47:55Speaker 2: I feel like we're on a better level talent wise
- 47:57Speaker 2: and just one thro six depth wise for the for
- 48:00Speaker 2: the organizations. But I don't think I don't think you
- 48:03Speaker 2: can go right now. We had this conversation where we said,
- 48:05Speaker 2: do you take the Dodgers of the field. If you
- 48:07Speaker 2: take the Dodgers of the field right now, and you
- 48:09Speaker 2: would say the field right almost everybody would say that sure.
- 48:13Speaker 2: And if you win the American League and you said
- 48:14Speaker 2: you'll take the Blue Jays or the Tigers in the field,
- 48:17Speaker 2: would you take the field?
- 48:19Speaker 1: Yes?
- 48:19Speaker 2: Okay, So then there's no clear cut favorite this year,
- 48:21Speaker 2: which is great. I love it stuff.
- 48:23Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm talking this up. I'm asking this in a
- 48:25Speaker 1: good way where I'm looking at both guys.
- 48:27Speaker 2: There's you can make a legitimate case for any of
- 48:30Speaker 2: the twelve teams that gets in the postseason to win
- 48:32Speaker 2: the whole thing.
- 48:33Speaker 1: And how often can you do that?
- 48:34Speaker 2: I didn't happen a lot.
- 48:35Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's not as frequent. You usually have better tearing.
- 48:39Speaker 2: Yeah, right, this year, it's like everyone's everyone has their
- 48:42Speaker 2: pluses and everyone has their holes. There's not just that
- 48:45Speaker 2: one team that's super team. You're like, oh, if they
- 48:47Speaker 2: get hot, nobody can beat them. Because even if you
- 48:50Speaker 2: look at the Dodgers, if they get hot, there's still
- 48:51Speaker 2: some holes there that you think you can exploit as
- 48:54Speaker 2: a team. So but then again, if another team gets
- 48:56Speaker 2: on and they take out the Dodgers, the Phillies or
- 48:58Speaker 2: the Mets or the you can make a you just
- 49:00Speaker 2: could make a compelling argument for.
- 49:02Speaker 1: All these people that's wrong.
- 49:05Speaker 2: I thought you had a bug on your shoulder, so
- 49:06Speaker 2: I was going to help you. I have.
- 49:07Speaker 1: Usually it's kind of something you're probably used to seeing at.
- 49:09Speaker 2: This Did you get eaten by a lot of people?
- 49:11Speaker 1: I do. It's weird, you see it, right, there's proof.
- 49:14Speaker 1: I don't know what it is for me, And I
- 49:18Speaker 1: know someone might have mentioned I didn't mention Houston. We're
- 49:21Speaker 1: talking about all the teams in the playoffs when I
- 49:23Speaker 1: was just benched, Houston.
- 49:24Speaker 2: Seattle, all of them. Yeah, I mean the Cubs. You
- 49:28Speaker 2: can make a case of the Cubs to win.
- 49:30Speaker 1: Yep.
- 49:30Speaker 2: You can make a case for the Brewers. You can
- 49:32Speaker 2: make a case for the Phillies. You can make case
- 49:34Speaker 2: of the match. You can make fase of the Potters.
- 49:35Speaker 2: You make case of the Dodgers. American League can go
- 49:37Speaker 2: all right through them, Tigers, Yankees, Red Sox, Blue Jays,
- 49:42Speaker 2: Astros and Mariners. All twelve teams that are going to
- 49:45Speaker 2: get in the postseason. You can make case they can
- 49:46Speaker 2: all win the World Series.
- 49:49Speaker 1: That's why it's so tough for AJ to put together
- 49:50Speaker 1: as power rankings. Crats.
- 49:52Speaker 2: So those are the twelve boom run them down.
- 49:55Speaker 3: In that order. You heard it here first, AJ order,
- 49:58Speaker 3: put them in order. Write it down, Claude.
- 50:03Speaker 1: She's busy. See it's working hard behind the scenes, and
- 50:09Speaker 1: not even big days.
- 50:11Speaker 3: Big days.
- 50:13Speaker 1: By the way, we're back in studio on Friday. I'll
- 50:18Speaker 1: be at studio a J. MyD father would be in studio,
- 50:21Speaker 1: Todd father and Krats will be in the bunker. This
- 50:36Speaker 1: is it last day at the Pro. It's been beautiful.
- 50:39Speaker 1: I just want to think we're putting this together pretty.
- 50:43Speaker 2: Simple, Cam brom Multi, all the people in charge of
- 50:47Speaker 2: this thing. It's been incredible. That's two about if you've
- 50:50Speaker 2: ever been to Alabama, especially South Alabama. The weather has
- 50:56Speaker 2: been unreal these four days that we have been here.
- 51:00Speaker 2: It is it's warm, but it is not South Alabama
- 51:03Speaker 2: normally in August warm, and there's a little breeze. Scotts
- 51:07Speaker 2: thinking about jumping in the pond behind us here shortly.
- 51:10Speaker 2: But yeah, this has been an incredible event. Well done
- 51:13Speaker 2: to the pro people. Everyone involved should be very proud
- 51:16Speaker 2: of what they've done, all the people at FT that
- 51:18Speaker 2: came here and behind the scenes people that have done
- 51:20Speaker 2: all their stuff. It's been it's been a fun week.
- 51:23Speaker 2: It's been a long week, but it's been a fun week.
- 51:25Speaker 1: There's one interview that we didn't get to yet on
- 51:28Speaker 1: our show, but we did do the interview, So what
- 51:30Speaker 1: we're gonna do is run it as part of tomorrow's show,
- 51:34Speaker 1: which one Greg Madden. Oh, Maddie, we got the Maddox combo,
- 51:37Speaker 1: so you get to be a part of tomorrow's show.
- 51:40Speaker 2: Nice. Yeah, there's what eighty former pro athletes here, all
- 51:43Speaker 2: mostly in the Big Four, but then Marty Fish is
- 51:45Speaker 2: the one tennis guy mm hm. So other than that,
- 51:48Speaker 2: it's seventy nine athletes and a tennis players.
- 51:51Speaker 1: That's the motto. Seventy nine athletes and a tennis player. Now,
- 51:56Speaker 1: we did interviews with about a quarter of them, and
- 51:59Speaker 1: we did a.
- 52:00Speaker 2: Lot of interviews because we've been here, we've been grinding.
- 52:02Speaker 2: We got you and I got here at six and
- 52:04Speaker 2: the crew got here about seven thirty, So Scot it
- 52:06Speaker 2: was nice showed up so early for those guys were
- 52:08Speaker 2: here to back us up.
- 52:09Speaker 1: Uh huh. Yeah, we woke them up with thirty alarms.
- 52:13Speaker 1: But shout out to the pro Yeah. There are content
- 52:16Speaker 1: channels on socials, YouTube, pod, et cetera where you'll be
- 52:19Speaker 1: able to find conversations with Matt Ryan, Patrick Peterson, who else, Gobi.
- 52:27Speaker 2: Party, Fish, Ray Allen, nas Mohammed Jesus trying to think
- 52:31Speaker 2: of all the people.
- 52:32Speaker 1: Mohammed Mohammed is a He's a monster. Ray Allen was fantastic.
- 52:38Speaker 2: You've never heard Ray Allen speak on certain things. Took
- 52:43Speaker 2: a rask yes, uh, Jeremy Ronick, Uh, Joe Pavelski. Yeah,
- 52:49Speaker 2: we've had a lot of conversation. Now, that's not even
- 52:51Speaker 2: the baseball guys, right.
- 52:53Speaker 1: And the baseball guys all have been running on FT
- 52:56Speaker 1: one more to go tomorrow with Maddox.
- 52:58Speaker 2: Oh, Aaron Hicks. You'vegot Aaron Hicks.
- 53:00Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Aaron Hicks was on early this week. Yeah,
- 53:02Speaker 1: it's been fun.

- 53:06Speaker 1: And so anyway, I encourage you all to check it
- 53:09Speaker 1: out there. There's going to be conversation Peterson. We forgot Peterson,
- 53:13Speaker 1: I said him, did ye? Crats hats we got a
- 53:16Speaker 1: minute to goo.
- 53:17Speaker 3: I mean you get to you get to talk to
- 53:20Speaker 3: Joe Carter. You got to wear a Blue Jay's hat
- 53:22Speaker 3: when you're talking to Joe Carter. That's that's just, that's it.
- 53:26Speaker 3: I knew he was coming on today, so I needed it.
- 53:29Speaker 1: Big maple, your hat, big maple. Joe Carter was awesome
- 53:35Speaker 1: right at the top of the interview. If you missed it,
- 53:38Speaker 1: that is going to give Jayson fan done that on
- 53:42Speaker 1: a show.
- 53:42Speaker 2: I don't know. He nailed it.
- 53:44Speaker 1: A unique question.
- 53:45Speaker 2: Yeah, that was my best question. Is the best part
- 53:47Speaker 2: of Joe Carter though.
- 53:48Speaker 3: That was my best question. I thought you guys would
- 53:50Speaker 3: be I thought you guys would be doing more dodgering.
- 53:54Speaker 3: I thought you guys would be dodging golf balls.
- 53:58Speaker 1: Through here.
- 53:59Speaker 2: There's been a few that have come through a couple.
- 54:01Speaker 2: There's a tent next to us, have gone in there.
- 54:03Speaker 2: A certain quarterback for the Cowboys shanked one and almost
- 54:06Speaker 2: killed Scott. Uh name is Tony. Last name rhymes with como.
- 54:14Speaker 1: Fomo.
- 54:18Speaker 2: Yeah, that's close.
- 54:19Speaker 3: Uh.
- 54:20Speaker 1: Tony does have a fear of missing out on being
- 54:22Speaker 1: on our territory. I asked him after he felt he
- 54:24Speaker 1: loves felt territory.
- 54:25Speaker 2: He said it.
- 54:26Speaker 1: I heard of our territory and love it.
- 54:27Speaker 2: He goes, great show, foul territory, great show, he said it.
- 54:32Speaker 2: I heard him.
- 54:32Speaker 1: It's true.
- 54:33Speaker 2: I heard him. I heard I heard him.
- 54:35Speaker 1: I mean, I was like, what we got a minute here?
- 54:37Speaker 1: So A J and I were inside prat yesterday.
- 54:40Speaker 2: A J.
- 54:40Speaker 1: And I went into the locker room and hung out
- 54:43Speaker 1: for a while, drinks with the guys.
- 54:44Speaker 2: Well exact locker room.
- 54:46Speaker 1: Thank you, thank you for the end.
- 54:47Speaker 2: Come in.
- 54:49Speaker 1: And when we walked out, Romo was walking by us.
- 54:53Speaker 1: We said hey. Immediately he did act like you know,
- 54:57Speaker 1: he knew us. He immediately got into.
- 54:59Speaker 2: How he nobody cares. No one cares one thing about golf.
- 55:03Speaker 2: Don't talk about every show because nobody cares. Like your fantasy,
- 55:07Speaker 2: nobody cares.
- 55:09Speaker 1: Nobody cares less about your fantasy team than everyone.
- 55:12Speaker 3: Yes.
- 55:14Speaker 1: Uh so, I said, are you coming on the show, Tony?
- 55:18Speaker 1: And he said what show? I said, foul Territory. He said, oh,
- 55:20Speaker 1: I like foul Territory.
- 55:22Speaker 2: Great show. He actually goes great show show. As he
- 55:25Speaker 2: was running from Scott the stalker that.
- 55:27Speaker 1: Was not stalking, I was not moving at all. I'm
- 55:29Speaker 1: not a starshruk gy. I truly do not care.
- 55:33Speaker 2: I just like to not one person competition.
- 55:36Speaker 3: There's not one person who would be Scott's guy or
- 55:41Speaker 3: girl that you'd like to meet.
- 55:43Speaker 1: The only time I was starstruck was more about the
- 55:47Speaker 1: physical presence. It was when I was probably twenty three
- 55:51Speaker 1: ish freelancing, working in media, and I was with a
- 55:55Speaker 1: media scrum doing an interview with Shack. And it wasn't Shack.
- 55:58Speaker 1: It was just the size of Shack.
- 56:00Speaker 2: Check.
- 56:01Speaker 1: Large is a different kind of large, right, A large
- 56:05Speaker 1: kis a large kid like okay, nas Mohammed is basically
- 56:08Speaker 1: the same as height wise.
- 56:12Speaker 2: Shack is way bigger than not, but not taller. Here's
- 56:15Speaker 2: a couple inches taller, a couple sixteen.
- 56:17Speaker 1: Okay, fine, fine, But point is Shaq is a modern
- 56:22Speaker 1: day Goliath. Like everything is enormous, his hands, just like
- 56:27Speaker 1: his whole presence just feels different from anyone else that
- 56:30Speaker 1: I had been around or covered. Closest person to that
- 56:32Speaker 1: in baseball maybe Judge.
- 56:34Speaker 2: Yeah, Judge Yanky Johnson back when he was going Yeah.
- 56:38Speaker 1: So anyway, that's my story. I hope you enjoyed it.
- 56:42Speaker 1: Ken Rosenthal Tomorrow, Raiser Friday Tomorrow, Greg Maddox Tomorrow, Krats
- 56:47Speaker 1: Hats Tomorrow, aj Back on Tuesday, No Show, Labor Day.

- 57:04Speaker 1: get yourself something that you would like to do in
- 57:06Speaker 1: the big leagues a single, double, triple, a home run,
- 57:08Speaker 1: gambling problem or concern call one a hundred gambler
