- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville, Jaguar's fans, welcome into Duval, daily presented by Genjag.com and fueled by brass tax coffee right now.
- 0:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's Friday, August 14th, we are about 24 hours from your Jaguars, taking on the New Orleans Saints into Orleans, 4 p.m. Eastern time for their first preseason game.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_00]: And as you know, or might know, Jaguars joint practices went the Saints.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_00]: That was about the starters.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_00]: this this preseason game it's about the depth it's about the young guys it's about them getting opportunities to play in live snaps I'm excited for it I personally can't wait I love the preseason obviously I covered the team like very in depth so it's like even the guys at the end I'm excited to see what they can do and all that stuff but you know it's people
- 0:54[SPEAKER_00]: putting their resumes out there.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm very excited for it.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_00]: It obviously doesn't really matter if you win or the Jaguar is going to try to win.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, absolutely.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_00]: Would it be nice for them to win?
- 1:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, but it really doesn't matter all that much.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_00]: They were 0211 last year and had a great season.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_00]: The Saints were also O2 and 1 last year.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_00]: These two teams tied each other last year.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: Whoever wins this game, assuming there is not another tie.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_00]: It'll be that regime's first win in the preseason.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_00]: And again, does that matter?
- 1:28[SPEAKER_00]: Not really.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_00]: Um, some things I'm excited to see.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: I really want to see those depth ad brushes.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to be something I'm going to be keyed in on because I think that they have played well throughout training camp.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_00]: And now it's time to go do that against another opponent.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_00]: I'm talking about rookie's actor.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: For you, I'm talking about BJ Green.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_00]: These two guys have shown a lot in the past restaurant department.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: Danny Strigger.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: I think that he has shown a lot just from an execution type of role.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_00]: I want to see all those guys.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited to see it.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: The rookie wide receivers.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_00]: Look.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_00]: Josh Cameron, I think that pick was widely praised at the time.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_00]: CJ Williams, that pick was widely criticized.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody's like CJ Williams is 500 on the big board, whatever.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: CJ Williams is good.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_00]: Josh Cameron has looked good.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: Can they carry that over?
- 2:25[SPEAKER_00]: Can the quarterbacks allow them to carry that over?
- 2:28[SPEAKER_00]: Speaking of the quarterbacks, I mean, you're not going to see Trevor Lawrence, but Nick Mullins.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_00]: This he quieted the noise at all because there's been a lot of negative talk about Nick Mullins as the Jack Wars number two quarterback I understand it
- 2:45[SPEAKER_00]: I think that there are better backup quarterbacks out there, just from a execution and talent standpoint.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_00]: Can he quiet that noise?
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: Can he shut a lot of people up a little bit?
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: Can he get some momentum here?
- 2:59[SPEAKER_00]: I think that would be good to see from Nick Mullins for sure.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_00]: It is the final year of his deal.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_00]: So what he puts on tape whenever he gets his opportunities this year, could help him.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_00]: or hurt him to get the next job to stick around in Jacksonville, whatever it may be, right?
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, connect Mullins kind of quiet the noise and get the ball to the CJ Williams of the world, to the Josh Cameron's.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_00]: CJ Williams just feels like a pro like good size
- 3:27[SPEAKER_00]: Good athleticism, good feet, strong hands, just kind of a very balanced player, it seems like very detailed player.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: Josh Cameron, I think he's been detailed too, but his physical profile stands out a little bit more big, muscular, strong football player, who, despite having that to his game, also has a little bit of quickness, a little bit of shake, and so returning, I think he'll have his opportunities to return the ball.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_00]: Kickoff's punts, maybe.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, definitely excited to see that.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_00]: Um, Jubar Mughammit, speaking of players that have really kind of shown out this offseason and into training camp.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_00]: I'm ready to see it.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_00]: I think he had some ups and downs in the joint practice.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_00]: He's been mostly up when it comes to playing against the Jaguars and practices training camp.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: OTAs, many camp all that stuff.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited to see him because I have him on the 53 man roster, but he's going to have to continue to earn that.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_00]: Jabarmin Hamid, I think he will make them 53, but, you know, let's see it in a game.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited for that for sure.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: Um, some rookies that I want to see a little bit more from than I have seen so far, just in practice.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Jalen Husky, he's made a couple plays here and there, but I feel like based on his tape and like his personality and the way he goes about his business, I expected to see a little bit more so far, and I'm excited to see, you know, in training camp.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: We don't get the advantage of replaying.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: I guess they have the big video board.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_00]: You can try to catch it, but we don't get to sit there and actually break down and look at a play over and over and over and over again.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: We'll get the opportunity to do that with this preseason game.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_00]: And so I'm just excited to be able to really, really watch Husky.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_00]: And Ray on Lane is a player who I think is firmly, he is ahead of Husky on the depth chart right now.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited to see him play.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_00]: Special teams extraordinaire, great gunner, but I think he's a pretty decent back-up safety too, so I'm excited to see both of those Albert Regis, I want to see what he's looking like The drags drafted him because he's a high-up for a higher-end G player that's really good and stout against the run And he's a good athlete as as size so I'm excited to see those guys and hopefully they can kind of You know, make some place make some plays out there
- 5:53[SPEAKER_00]: Um, can the offensive line hold up?
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think you're going to see any of the starters.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, three of the top six offensive linemen are injured right now.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_00]: Patrick McCary or is he injured?
- 6:05[SPEAKER_00]: I don't even really know.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_00]: But he hasn't been playing in team.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_00]: Walker Little is down.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: He's been down for about a week now and then, um, Colby and Lance still on the pup.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_00]: So, can the offensive line hold up?
- 6:18[SPEAKER_00]: I want to see why at my loom and Jonah Monheim play well.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_00]: Those are guys that have experienced now of being in the NFL for a year.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_00]: They got some game experience last year, not a lot, but a little bit.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_00]: I really want to see them play well.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: Um, yeah, I mentioned Nick Mullins.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_00]: Carter Bradley was challenged, I think, by the coaching staff, by Liam Cohen.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_00]: He's the Jaguar's third quarterback right now, to, they know he's got physical talent.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_00]: And he does.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: He's got a live arm, he's athletic, but can he master the pre-snap and just like the mental part of the quarterbacking?
- 6:57[SPEAKER_00]: That's his challenge for this pre-season.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_00]: Because if he can, maybe he is Jaguar's QB2 of the future, potentially.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's Gus Bradley's son, but they like him here.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_00]: They like him a lot.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: Do we see like Ventral Miller, Branson Combs at all?
- 7:19[SPEAKER_00]: You would think you would see Branson Combs, but I wanna kind of see how that's feeling at, if that's like, if both of them play, if neither of them play, who knows?
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: Don't really know yet, but those guys are kind of fighting for a job.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_00]: What about like at running back?
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: Who's actually playing just two in or I would think Rodriguez wouldn't play just because there's experience with him in the NFL, there's experience with him in this system.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: He is coming off of an injury.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_00]: He's been participating in team for the most part for the last week or a couple of weeks, but yeah, I'm just excited to see about those random.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_00]: And then beyond your top guys,
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: You would think liquid Allen would play, but does he really need to?
- 8:05[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_00]: Jamari Taylor, can he put on a show?
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: That's a talent to back.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_00]: Rookie, undrafted for agent.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited to see him.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: Tanner Koziel, yeah.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_00]: Can we get him out there?
- 8:20[SPEAKER_00]: Can we get Borca Trout there?
- 8:23[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know about Borca Trout.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think Koziel should definitely play though.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you don't have a million tie-dans on the depth chart.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: So, Koziel, can he put on a show?
- 8:31[SPEAKER_00]: as a receiver.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_00]: That would be awesome to see.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: But overall, you want to see a team that is functioning pre-snap that's not committing a lot of penalties, not like busted assignments on defense or offense.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: You know, if you get beat one-on-one, you get beat one-on-one, but if you can avoid the mental mistakes, I think that would be a really good sign for the coaching and just for the depth of the Jacksonville Jaguars heading into this season and again, not end all be all.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: You're not going to see the guys that are going to be playing significant snaps early on in the regular season right now.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: You're not going to be seeing that.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: So it's about the depth.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_00]: It's about the development.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's about the young guys.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_00]: And can they go out and do a good job?
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: And obviously, Grant Ydinsky got to talk about that.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to be, you know, calling the plays and getting his opportunity to do that here.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_00]: So that'll be good to see how he kind of...
- 9:27[SPEAKER_00]: playcalls in this one.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_00]: Can he just create some opportunities for easy plays on offense for easy completions, et cetera, the way Liam Cohen does?
- 9:39[SPEAKER_00]: Because yeah, there's guys that go out to execute with the Jaguar starting offense, the one on one, et cetera, and just guys that
- 9:45[SPEAKER_00]: Execute there assignment, but Liam Cohen also draws it up to where like sometimes guys just get wide open Thanks to his play calling and attacking the defensive leverages and weakness and all that stuff So can grant you Dinsky bring that to the table too.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited to see that and that's gonna do it Really excited for this one really appreciate y'all tuning in support in the channel if you enjoy the content Please like and subscribe y'all for great one
