- Lucas: Hej hej Luna! Welcome back to Learn Swedish with Fexingo. Luna: Hej Lucas! I'm ready for another episode. What are we doing today? Lucas: Today, no new phrases. Instead, I'm going to tell you a tiny story in English — but I'll drop in some Swedish phrases we've already learned. You just listen and react. Luna: Oh, that sounds fun! Like a little audio story. I love that. Lucas: Exactly. So, imagine it's early morning. The sun is just coming up. You walk into a small bakery. The bell on the door jingles. Luna: I can already smell the bread. Yeah. Lucas: The baker is behind the counter. She looks up and smiles. She says, 'God morgon!' Luna: Oh! God morgon. Good morning. I remember that from Episode 1. Lucas: Right. So you reply, 'God morgon!' — and then you add, 'Hur mår du?' Luna: Wait — 'How are you?' in Swedish. Yeah, Hur mår du. I'm getting the hang of this. Lucas: Good. The baker nods and says, 'Bra, tack!' — and you say, 'Bra, tack!' too. So far so good. Luna: So we've got God morgon, Hur mår du, Bra, tack. These are all from earlier episodes. Nice. Lucas: Now, you look at the display. There are fresh cinnamon buns. You point and say, 'Ja, tack.' Luna: Ja, tack. Yes, please. Simple and polite. I like it. Lucas: The baker gives you the bun. You say, 'Tack!' She says, 'Varsågod' — but we haven't learned that yet, so let's just say she smiles. Luna: That's fine. I'll just nod and smile back. Lucas: Now it's time to leave. You pick up your bag. You say, 'Hejdå!' Luna: Hejdå. Goodbye. From Episode 4. Lucas: And the baker waves and says, 'Vi ses!' Luna: Vi ses — See you! That's a nice one. Lucas: So the whole story is: you walk in, say God morgon, ask Hur mår du, hear Bra tack, order with Ja tack, say Tack, then leave with Hejdå and Vi ses. That's a full bakery visit. Luna: That's so good. I can actually imagine doing that. Let me try to say the whole thing as the customer. Lucas: Go for it! I'll be the baker. Luna: Okay, here goes. I walk in. 'God morgon!' Lucas: 'God morgon!' Luna: 'Hur mår du?' Lucas: 'Bra, tack!' Luna: 'Bra, tack!' Then I point at a bun. 'Ja, tack.' Lucas: She hands it over. Luna: 'Tack!' Then I leave. 'Hejdå!' Lucas: 'Vi ses!' Perfect. You did it. You just had a full conversation in Swedish. Luna: Wow. That felt really natural. And I didn't even think about it — the phrases just came. Lucas: That's the power of repetition and stories. You've heard these words many times now, so they're sticking. Luna: Yeah. I think I could actually say that in a real bakery. Maybe not perfectly, but close. Lucas: And that's all you need. People appreciate the effort. So today's episode was a tiny story, but it used: God morgon, Hur mår du, Bra tack, Ja tack, Tack, Hejdå, and Vi ses. Luna: That's a lot of phrases from previous episodes tied together. I love this format. Lucas: I'm glad. We'll do more stories like this. For now, keep practicing. Say these to yourself next time you're in line at a bakery. Luna: I will. Thanks Lucas. This was fun! Lucas: Tack själv, Luna. And to you listening — thanks for being with us on Learn Swedish with Fexingo. Hejdå for now! Luna: Hejdå! Vi ses!
