- 0:16Speaker 1: First episode in the book is in the books. We'll
- 0:18Speaker 1: break that down. The Michigan miracle takes place. What is
- 0:22Speaker 1: going to happen in Ann Arbor?
- 0:23Speaker 2: Are they dead?
- 0:24Speaker 1: Can they come back to life? Find out that with
- 0:26Speaker 1: a bunch more picks. On this show, big hugs, tiny kisses.

- 1:02Speaker 2: Welcome to another episode of The Locker Room. Before we start,
- 1:04Speaker 2: just a reminder for everybody tuning in. Bussin' and Paint
- 1:07Speaker 2: on Campus will be in Ann Arbor this Friday for
- 1:10Speaker 2: ESPN on ESPN, 2 to 3 p.m. Eastern Time.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Be there.
- 1:15Speaker 2: We love a live audience. We love a live crowd.
- 1:17Speaker 2: We had a few hundred last week in Baton Rouge.
- 1:19Speaker 2: But the boys, this crew right here, will be at
- 1:22Speaker 2: Ann Arbor this Friday afternoon. Be there. Or be square, man. Yeah,
- 1:28Speaker 2: be square. As always, we are presented by the number
- 1:31Speaker 2: one sportsbook in America. That is the FanDuel Sportsbook. Before
- 1:34Speaker 2: we get into these stats from last week on FanDuel's
- 1:37Speaker 2: new college football pick-em, just a reminder. Responsible. Responsible. Responsible.
- 1:43Speaker 2: We love to have fun, but we like to be
- 1:44Speaker 2: responsible when we gamble. You can go to FanDuel.com slash play...
- 1:49Speaker 2: with a plan or the responsible gaming section in the app.
- 1:52Speaker 2: But everybody who tapped in last week and saw how
- 1:55Speaker 2: you can bet against the spread against us three, 250,000
- 1:58Speaker 2: folks made their free picks and 256 of those people
- 2:00Speaker 2: went 10 out of 10 and are splitting over $ 1, 900
- 2:02Speaker 2: in bonus bets. That's a round of applause. I saw
- 2:11Speaker 2: a couple people in our mentions. Oh, you say we
- 2:14Speaker 2: need to get the crowd juice? Late to clap. I know.
- 2:16Speaker 2: I'm ready for people to see Jack McPherson's sign back
- 2:19Speaker 2: there that he made. Now, unfortunately, none of us were perfect.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Kudos to Josh for getting five out of ten, correct?
- 2:26Speaker 1: Congrats, Josh.
- 2:26Speaker 2: But Will and Taylor, the boys, we only got three
- 2:29Speaker 2: picks right last week. Really?
- 2:30Speaker 3: It's okay.
- 2:31Speaker 2: That's 30%. That sounds like seven programs failed us. Yeah,
- 2:34Speaker 2: we're nice in baseball. Which netted? What's TK, TK? We
- 2:42Speaker 2: just put an acronym on here? TKTK of you, a
- 2:48Speaker 2: FanDuel Profit Boost Token. The fun doesn't stop here. You
- 2:52Speaker 2: might be wondering, I'm having so much fun.
- 2:53Speaker 3: What is TKTK?
- 2:55Speaker 2: FanDuel's College Football Pick'Em is back for week two, and
- 2:57Speaker 2: the game is live right now. No entry fee, no wagers,
- 3:01Speaker 2: just you and your chance to win big. Make your
- 3:02Speaker 2: free picks before kickoff. Check out our picks on social,
- 3:06Speaker 2: and come back each week for another shot at bonus
- 3:08Speaker 2: bets and Profit Boost Tokens for beating Peyton and the boys.
- 3:11Speaker 2: Download the FanDuel app, play College Football Pick'Em for free,
- 3:15Speaker 2: Only on FanDuel. FanDuel.com slash Boston. Way to break that down.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Have you figured out TKTK? No, I haven't. What is TKTK?
- 3:24Speaker 3: Do we know? There's so many things. There's so many
- 3:26Speaker 3: things that come at you on a daily basis. There's
- 3:28Speaker 3: so many things that happen around you and you just
- 3:30Speaker 3: let it roll off your back. Someone throws an acronym
- 3:33Speaker 3: at you.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Sorry, I was two places at once.
- 3:37Speaker 1: We got an AI translation here.
- 3:39Speaker 2: CKTK on FanDuel is a placeholder error indicating that content
- 3:43Speaker 2: is temporarily missing or has not yet been uploaded.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Oh, so it's not on you.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Got you, got you. Glad we got to the bottom
- 3:49Speaker 2: of that.
- 3:49Speaker 3: Wow.
- 3:50Speaker 1: We interrupt this episode to give you the Ford segment.
- 3:53Speaker 1: This Ford leaderboard segment is presented by Ford. A hard
- 3:57Speaker 1: day's work starts with one thing, someone willing to do it.
- 3:59Speaker 1: And where there's a will, there's a Ford F-Series truck.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Let's get into the segment. We have the four leaderboards
- 4:05Speaker 1: sitting here. It looks like Peyton and I, from a
- 4:07Speaker 1: win-loss standpoint, we're the exact same. Peyton has edged me
- 4:10Speaker 1: out right now.
- 4:11Speaker 2: He has 3.2. 3.2 units. I'm sitting in second at 2.68.
- 4:17Speaker 1: And then Will Compton in a strong third place at
- 4:20Speaker 1: negative 11.39.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Top three.
- 4:22Speaker 3: They're back in operating.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Down 67%.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Will, you're not in the NFL locker room, but last year,
- 4:35Speaker 1: Delaney Walker started abysmal. Probably the worst start anyone's ever
- 4:39Speaker 1: seen in a gambling season. and ended up coming back
- 4:42Speaker 1: and winning. So I think that's good to watch Delaney
- 4:45Speaker 1: focus on what he's been doing in the offseason and
- 4:47Speaker 1: kind of taking over that kind of game plan.
- 4:49Speaker 2: I expect a big November out of you. Dude, I
- 4:51Speaker 2: expect a big week two out of Willie.
- 4:53Speaker 4: Oh, really?
- 4:54Speaker 2: Let me tell you guys. You guys know this philosophy.
- 4:57Speaker 2: In a world of massive pessimism, what is there? Pessimism.
- 5:00Speaker 2: There's opportunity. Okay. If the stock market crashes, what is
- 5:03Speaker 2: the opportunist going to do? Put the money in. Buy, buy, buy.
- 5:06Speaker 2: If the housing market crashes, what's an opportunist going to do? Buy, buy, buy.
- 5:09Speaker 2: If Willie C is down 67% after week one, what's
- 5:12Speaker 2: the opportunist going to do? Bet on Peyton Taylor. Bet
- 5:15Speaker 2: on Willie C. Bet on Willie C. I took a
- 5:17Speaker 2: big punch to the gut.
- 5:18Speaker 3: So what?
- 5:19Speaker 2: I'm standing here. I'm looking at all of you right now.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Who's going to feel confident after going down 67%? Nobody,
- 5:24Speaker 2: except for Willie C. And I feel good about my
- 5:26Speaker 2: picks this week. You feel great about your picks this week.
- 5:28Speaker 2: I like my bag this week. I am a little
- 5:30Speaker 2: confused on a few games. Josh Pate has a question.
- 5:32Speaker 3: What I'm going to say is not my thought. This
- 5:34Speaker 3: is not me talking.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Oh, no.
- 5:36Speaker 3: I'm going to say the pessimist would look at you
- 5:39Speaker 3: and say, how do you know you hit the floor?
- 5:42Speaker 3: How do you know you didn't fall some of the
- 5:44Speaker 3: way but then the dust clears, it's like national treasure.
- 5:46Speaker 3: They're falling down the shaft, but then they look down
- 5:48Speaker 3: and they still can't see the bottom. Or to put
- 5:51Speaker 3: it another way, how do you know it won't get
- 5:52Speaker 3: worse this week? That's what the pessimist would say.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Man in the arena. Yep.
- 5:57Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 5:58Speaker 2: Like I've been throughout. When in doubt, Roosevelt. Man in
- 6:03Speaker 2: the arena. Like you don't think I've been down 67%
- 6:05Speaker 2: of my life in some phase? In multiple phases of
- 6:08Speaker 2: my life. Like I've seen the bottom. I know what
- 6:10Speaker 2: it looks like.
- 6:11Speaker 4: Yep.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Man in the arena.
- 6:14Speaker 3: I'll tell him.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Man in the arena. First show was in the books.
- 6:21Speaker 2: ESPN show.
- 6:22Speaker 3: How about that time?
- 6:23Speaker 2: That was a fun time. Josh Payne, really, you ran
- 6:26Speaker 2: a lot of that.
- 6:27Speaker 1: And the first, it's really our first time doing actual
- 6:30Speaker 1: television or hosting a show on real television. I thought
- 6:33Speaker 1: you came in and did an incredible job. My favorite
- 6:35Speaker 1: part of the entire show is when they're in our
- 6:38Speaker 1: ear going into like the third break and Will is
- 6:41Speaker 1: giving a breakdown of what's to come.
- 6:42Speaker 2: Hey, we got the A gap next. And we, in
- 6:45Speaker 2: all of our ears here, 10 seconds.
- 6:48Speaker 5: So Will's greatest decision was instead of letting it fade
- 6:55Speaker 5: out and having nine, eight seconds of just quiet as
- 6:57Speaker 5: people look at the landscape of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, it's
- 7:01Speaker 5: Will counted down with us.
- 7:03Speaker 1: We got nine seconds, eight until we go to a
- 7:06Speaker 1: commercial break.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Stick with me here. Have some empathy. It's the first time.
- 7:10Speaker 2: It was the most bustle with.
- 7:11Speaker 1: The boys S thing I've ever seen on mainstream television.
- 7:13Speaker 2: It was amazing. Yeah. When we get back.
- 7:15Speaker 3: Oh, I'm hearing we got 10 seconds left.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Nice. Yeah.
- 7:19Speaker 3: We worked it out.
- 7:19Speaker 2: It was awesome.
- 7:20Speaker 3: We worked it out.
- 7:21Speaker 1: It was a good showing in Baton Rouge. We expect
- 7:24Speaker 1: a good showing in Ann Arbor. Ann Arbor right now,
- 7:27Speaker 1: it's in chaos. It's down 67%. The pessimists would sit
- 7:31Speaker 1: there and say, how do you know this is not
- 7:32Speaker 1: rock bottom? We'll find out this week. But the only
- 7:35Speaker 1: way to really get a good gauge, a good temp,
- 7:37Speaker 1: on that town is to see who shows up on Friday.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Shows up on Friday at Ferry Field, are they going
- 7:44Speaker 1: to come, show out, and be ready to take on Oklahoma.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Before we get into the breakdown of it, where are
- 7:50Speaker 2: you at? Like friend to friend checking on my board.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Because you've seen a lot of phrases. The Michigan Bell Mary,
- 7:57Speaker 2: the Michigan Screwjob, the Michigan Miracle. Where are you at?
- 8:04Speaker 2: in your mind, mentally, physically, and emotionally?
- 8:07Speaker 1: You take 24 hours to digest what's taking place. I
- 8:10Speaker 1: think the best thing for this school is that even
- 8:13Speaker 1: though there is a win, we have a win in
- 8:15Speaker 1: week one, nothing feels like a win in that game.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Most people would actually say that we didn't actually win
- 8:21Speaker 1: that game, that the Big Ten went behind the max back,
- 8:24Speaker 1: stabbed them, and allowed us to have one more second
- 8:26Speaker 1: on the clock.
- 8:28Speaker 2: It is what it is. 47 yard Hail Mary.
- 8:30Speaker 1: I don't know what the odds are in that, but
- 8:32Speaker 1: to do that twice and get one is I think
- 8:34Speaker 1: a way better stat than it would be for anybody else.
- 8:39Speaker 2: I see the fan base. Rush the field. My initial
- 8:42Speaker 2: thought on that is yuck. I don't like it. It
- 8:45Speaker 2: makes me feel hesitant. I pulled the leash back a little.
- 8:47Speaker 2: People hated your celebration. People hated my celebration. That's where
- 8:50Speaker 2: I was going.
- 8:51Speaker 1: It was like, then I look at my celebration and
- 8:52Speaker 1: as we're leaving Baton Rouge and flying back to Nashville,
- 8:56Speaker 1: I'm like, I can't believe you just kind of got excited.
- 8:58Speaker 1: I think I can't believe you got that excited about
- 9:00Speaker 1: Western Michigan. And the reality is this. Those fans in
- 9:04Speaker 1: that stadium and myself at the tarmac, we're not getting
- 9:07Speaker 1: excited about beating a Mac team who won the Mac
- 9:10Speaker 1: last year, actually a really good team. They're going to
- 9:12Speaker 1: be solid this year.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Kudos to Western. Yeah. We are.
- 9:16Speaker 1: excited at the idea that our season isn't over. Because
- 9:19Speaker 1: if you lose that game, the season is over. All
- 9:23Speaker 1: the hopes and everyone buying stock in August and July
- 9:27Speaker 1: and people talking about Bryce Underwood's camp, how much better
- 9:29Speaker 1: he looks, look how great our roster is. Kyle Whittingham
- 9:32Speaker 1: sitting at a press conference saying he will give him
- 9:34Speaker 1: an A plus in the season. It just all feels
- 9:36Speaker 1: like a lie.
- 9:36Speaker 2: At that point.
- 9:37Speaker 1: And the only thing you would have to hang your
- 9:38Speaker 1: hat on is regardless of what people said or what
- 9:41Speaker 1: people want to believe, we're 1-0. So that's me celebrating
- 9:45Speaker 1: the same way the fans are of like, Western Michigan
- 9:48Speaker 1: has nothing to do with it. It's what our season
- 9:52Speaker 1: is still alive. That's what makes the excitement and all
- 9:55Speaker 1: the rushing rushing the field.
- 9:57Speaker 2: Do I love them rushing the field? No. Do I
- 9:59Speaker 2: love me jumping up and down and hugging Peyton Klump? No,
- 10:02Speaker 2: I don't. I don't love that.
- 10:03Speaker 1: That has to be my reaction in week one versus
- 10:05Speaker 1: a max school. But that's the, that was the most
- 10:07Speaker 1: honest reaction I could have possibly had.
- 10:09Speaker 2: MFSGA.
- 10:11Speaker 3: TKTK.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Mayfield.
- 10:15Speaker 3: Oh.
- 10:18Speaker 1: And that's a good opportunity to bring up how people
- 10:21Speaker 1: want to tell people how to fan. Like guys can't
- 10:25Speaker 1: run on the field and be excited about their team.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Seriously. Saved an entire 2026 season. Yeah.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Possibly saved an entire 2026 season. Because there's a lot
- 10:33Speaker 1: of examples out there that we can look at in
- 10:35Speaker 1: a week one or early in the season for college
- 10:37Speaker 1: teams in the past that have gotten their ass kicked
- 10:39Speaker 1: in one week. and then go on to win the
- 10:41Speaker 1: national championship, lose to an inferior opponent, and make it
- 10:44Speaker 1: to a national championship. We have plenty of examples of that.
- 10:48Speaker 1: So for someone to say, hey, make field storming great again,
- 10:51Speaker 1: it's just one of those things where it's like, why
- 10:54Speaker 1: are we gatekeeping fandom? People can't go out and fan
- 10:57Speaker 1: the way they want. The only thing I will not
- 11:00Speaker 1: stand for when it comes to fandom is jumping off
- 11:02Speaker 1: the bandwagon of your team so early. That's a fake fan.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Someone who, when the stuff gets a little tough, you're
- 11:08Speaker 1: in the trenches, you sit there and you're like, you
- 11:10Speaker 1: know what?
- 11:11Speaker 2: I'm out.
- 11:12Speaker 3: You gotta be a trench guy.
- 11:14Speaker 1: If you're going to say, I'm putting my name behind
- 11:16Speaker 1: this team, the first time adversity strikes, you don't just
- 11:20Speaker 1: run and hide.
- 11:21Speaker 2: You don't just, you don't run away. You stick with
- 11:23Speaker 2: your team.
- 11:24Speaker 1: And if you make a statement two weeks prior saying,
- 11:27Speaker 1: I'm not judging my team, Until week two, you stay
- 11:30Speaker 1: with that team.
- 11:31Speaker 2: You don't waver inside of adversity.
- 11:33Speaker 1: When there's turbulence on a plane, if you were to
- 11:35Speaker 1: look at the flight attendant and she's shitting her pants,
- 11:38Speaker 1: you're not going to be feeling pretty good. Be the
- 11:39Speaker 1: flight attendant for your team when things aren't going well.
- 11:41Speaker 2: That's what you need.
- 11:43Speaker 3: It seems really, really personal.
- 11:45Speaker 2: No, no.
- 11:45Speaker 3: Are you talking to the wall behind me or are
- 11:47Speaker 3: you talking to me?
- 11:48Speaker 2: It's more at... Thank you.
- 11:51Speaker 1: My statement is more at this toxic warehouse that we
- 11:56Speaker 1: live in where people want to sit and tell people
- 11:59Speaker 1: how to be a fan. We've got great fans in
- 12:01Speaker 1: this building. Every single one of you are great fans.
- 12:05Speaker 1: But because someone hasn't been a fan long enough or.
- 12:08Speaker 2: They, okay, not Jared. Well, clump fan how you want.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Fan how you want.
- 12:16Speaker 1: If you're going to tie your name to a team,
- 12:19Speaker 1: It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if things are going
- 12:22Speaker 1: well or not. At some point, you have to be
- 12:24Speaker 1: realistic about your team, but not in week two.
- 12:26Speaker 3: Not in week two.
- 12:27Speaker 2: Never in week two. You do that after week two.
- 12:31Speaker 2: You do that after week five.
- 12:33Speaker 1: But if fans want to be excited about the fact
- 12:36Speaker 1: that their dreams of 2026 season, do we forget that
- 12:39Speaker 1: we sat here March, April, May, and we see the
- 12:43Speaker 1: world start to get nasty.
- 12:44Speaker 2: A war started. around the world. June and July. Because
- 12:49Speaker 2: football wasn't around.
- 12:50Speaker 3: That was it.
- 12:51Speaker 1: People say it's because football wasn't around. Now we get
- 12:54Speaker 1: to football and we have all these fan bases that
- 12:56Speaker 1: have hopes and dreams and aspirations of reaching the pinnacle.
- 13:00Speaker 1: And you almost lose to a Mac team. And at
- 13:04Speaker 1: the last second, some say after the last second, you
- 13:08Speaker 1: get a second chance at life. You're rebirthed and you
- 13:11Speaker 1: have your opportunity to keep your playoff dreams alive. I
- 13:15Speaker 1: think that deserves storming on the field. I think you
- 13:17Speaker 1: can fan however you want, but what we will not
- 13:19Speaker 1: do is turn our backs on the team that we love.
- 13:21Speaker 2: After one week. That's how I feel about that.
- 13:23Speaker 3: We will not do that.
- 13:24Speaker 2: That's how I feel about that. Hmm.
- 13:28Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 13:34Speaker 2: I'm trying to figure out where he is mentally, physically,
- 13:36Speaker 2: and emotionally. I feel like a lot was happening there
- 13:38Speaker 2: to where one time I thought it was kind of
- 13:40Speaker 2: directed at Peyton. No, actually, none of that was ever
- 13:42Speaker 2: directed at you. I thought we were talking how you.
- 13:44Speaker 3: He just stared a hole in me, but it wasn't
- 13:45Speaker 3: directed at me.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Then he goes.
- 13:47Speaker 1: You were like my direct line of sight. So that's
- 13:49Speaker 1: when you thought it was at you. I thought I'd
- 13:51Speaker 1: turn to who this is really about.
- 13:53Speaker 2: As I keep going.
- 13:54Speaker 3: But can I tell you? Can I tell you?
- 13:55Speaker 2: Go ahead.
- 13:56Speaker 3: You were seated right next to me. He was across
- 13:58Speaker 3: from us. And there was... what was hour 15, hour
- 14:01Speaker 3: 10 minute flight back from Baton Rouge. And there was
- 14:03Speaker 3: like a solid, I don't know, 10 or 15 minute
- 14:06Speaker 3: chunk after the high had worn off. And you're all
- 14:10Speaker 3: kind of looking at your phone. How long is it
- 14:11Speaker 3: until we land? There was about a 10 or 15
- 14:13Speaker 3: minute chunk where you kind of had this look. And
- 14:17Speaker 3: it was kind of, you're not looking at anyone. You're
- 14:19Speaker 3: kind of just, you're lost in your thoughts. And at
- 14:22Speaker 3: that point, I didn't say anything because I wanted to
- 14:24Speaker 3: take it all in. And I wanted to give you
- 14:25Speaker 3: your space to take it all in. And then you
- 14:27Speaker 3: kind of broke and you said, we rushed the field
- 14:31Speaker 3: against Western Michigan after beating them. But, but I basically
- 14:35Speaker 3: rushed my own field. And so you owned it in
- 14:38Speaker 3: the moment. We were all witnessing it, experiencing it. And
- 14:40Speaker 3: that moment I said, Wednesday is still a long way away.
- 14:45Speaker 3: Where will he be Wednesday? And I got to tell you,
- 14:47Speaker 3: I'm happy. Are you? I'm very happy for you. You're back.
- 14:51Speaker 2: I'm back.
- 14:51Speaker 3: You're back. And you're going to, you're going to board
- 14:53Speaker 3: a plane and you're going to go up there Friday
- 14:55Speaker 3: and And you're going to pick whoever you pick to
- 14:57Speaker 3: win the game. I'm sure there'll be some honest, thorough analysis.
- 15:01Speaker 3: You'll give Oklahoma a good look. And then come what may,
- 15:04Speaker 3: it'll tee up and we'll kick it off Saturday at
- 15:06Speaker 3: noon Eastern time, right? Michigan Eastern time?
- 15:08Speaker 2: Yep. Yep. Yep. Noon Eastern time.
- 15:10Speaker 3: A lot of people see pessimism. A lot of people
- 15:12Speaker 3: see a reason to sell. But isn't there also maybe
- 15:14Speaker 3: an opportunity to buy in here at the very, very
- 15:18Speaker 3: bottom of the barrel? Because as angry as I was
- 15:21Speaker 3: at the procedure and the way the Big Ten office
- 15:24Speaker 3: handled it, that's in this cup right here. The Michigan
- 15:28Speaker 3: Cup's like a whole separate cup. The Michigan Cup is, yeah,
- 15:31Speaker 3: the offense didn't look anything like I hoped it would. Yeah,
- 15:34Speaker 3: it was a lethargic performance. But what did I expect
- 15:36Speaker 3: them to do? I expected them to start 1-0. Record
- 15:39Speaker 3: book says 1-0. So now Oklahoma comes to town and
- 15:43Speaker 3: you know, we get to do, we get to put
- 15:44Speaker 3: the wounded animal theory to test.
- 15:46Speaker 2: The difference is.
- 15:47Speaker 6: Normally, no one loves them more, but normally the wounded
- 15:54Speaker 6: animals coming off a loss, you're coming off a win
- 15:57Speaker 6: and everyone's treating it like a loss.
- 15:59Speaker 3: And now you get an opportunity against an Oklahoma team.
- 16:03Speaker 3: You went to their building, they beat you last year.
- 16:05Speaker 3: They come to your building and you got a really,
- 16:07Speaker 3: really good defense and the whole world's going to doubt you.
- 16:09Speaker 3: And so I have, I've looked at this game ever
- 16:12Speaker 3: since the previous one ended and I've said, I know
- 16:15Speaker 3: what America's reaction is about to be. Is that going
- 16:18Speaker 3: to be my reaction?
- 16:19Speaker 1: It's loud.
- 16:20Speaker 2: The whole country is against Michigan right now. Michigan is
- 16:23Speaker 2: essentially the LSU of the big time.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Let me, okay, let's throw this out there. Let's throw
- 16:27Speaker 3: this out there.
- 16:28Speaker 2: Because that's a very, very, very loaded statement.
- 16:30Speaker 3: As far as public opinion.
- 16:31Speaker 2: As far as public opinion.
- 16:31Speaker 3: It's like wanting them to lose.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Clearly the offense is not the same right now. That's
- 16:34Speaker 2: not what I'm saying, fellas.
- 16:35Speaker 1: It will get there.
- 16:37Speaker 2: Yes, it will. That's a great take.
- 16:38Speaker 3: This year will it get there?
- 16:40Speaker 1: Listen, I reserve my true opinion about Michigan until after
- 16:43Speaker 1: week two.
- 16:45Speaker 3: Do you think the whole world's against Michigan or the
- 16:48Speaker 3: world's angry at the big 10?
- 16:50Speaker 1: I don't think the world has zoomed out enough to
- 16:53Speaker 1: realize they should be angry at the big 10.
- 16:54Speaker 3: Shame on the world.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Shame on the world. Indeed. I think.
- 16:57Speaker 1: Because of 21 through 23, all the stuff that happened
- 17:01Speaker 1: with Sharon Moore in the off season this past year,
- 17:03Speaker 1: there's clearly a negative light that is on Michigan. I
- 17:06Speaker 1: am not too ignorant to see that. And because this
- 17:09Speaker 1: comes up and the logo is Michigan, they don't see
- 17:13Speaker 1: that they don't make the call and make the decision
- 17:15Speaker 1: for an extra second or the second not to be
- 17:17Speaker 1: fully done. That is a big 10 decision that took place.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Michigan is catching shrapnel because of the last four or
- 17:23Speaker 1: five years.
- 17:24Speaker 2: And I can.
- 17:25Speaker 1: fully get on board with that. I can understand why
- 17:27Speaker 1: the hate's there. I can understand why like people that
- 17:30Speaker 1: aren't even Oklahoma fans are gonna fly to this game
- 17:32Speaker 1: just to root against Michigan. And I think that's exactly
- 17:35Speaker 1: where Michigan needs to be right now.
- 17:37Speaker 2: I'll tell you this too.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Around noon central time yesterday, we were sitting in this
- 17:42Speaker 1: nice air conditioning office and what was taking place in
- 17:44Speaker 1: Ann Arbor on that practice field will be forever known
- 17:46Speaker 1: as Bloody Tuesday. I have been told that is one
- 17:51Speaker 1: of the most physical and painful practices that any program's
- 17:56Speaker 1: gone through in the last 25 years. And there's a
- 18:00Speaker 1: big issue with physicality on the line of scrimmage. I
- 18:03Speaker 1: think they got after it yesterday in a way that
- 18:08Speaker 1: I'm hoping will show up on Saturday.
- 18:09Speaker 2: In a way that you can't really write in a
- 18:11Speaker 2: book because it was that bloody.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Yeah, you can't write that. You can't put that in
- 18:14Speaker 1: a Disney movie.
- 18:15Speaker 2: I know that. You can't do that. Is there a
- 18:17Speaker 2: part of you that's like bloody Tuesday in week two?
- 18:21Speaker 2: this soon already? Like we just got out of training camp.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Given the circumstances of what took place and how lethargic,
- 18:28Speaker 1: your words, of Michigan was on the opposite side of
- 18:30Speaker 1: the ball, yes. And you go back and watch the
- 18:33Speaker 1: first drive, like it was like the first, they marched
- 18:35Speaker 1: on the field 75 yards and score.
- 18:37Speaker 2: But they didn't play clean. They had a botched snap.
- 18:41Speaker 2: Bryce threw in a double coverage at one point. The
- 18:44Speaker 2: run game wasn't super efficient. Even the one that Bryce
- 18:47Speaker 2: almost scored on where he rolled out, if that was handed,
- 18:49Speaker 2: that would have been a touchdown right away. There were
- 18:51Speaker 2: things you saw where it's like, yeah, the result was six,
- 18:54Speaker 2: but it wasn't like, wow, look at this operation taking place.
- 18:57Speaker 1: The line of scrimmage wasn't moving the way it was
- 18:59Speaker 1: supposed to move.
- 19:00Speaker 2: I can tell you're a caged animal and you're ready
- 19:02Speaker 2: to cook, so I'm just going to interject and just
- 19:04Speaker 2: say what the line is on this game, and you
- 19:06Speaker 2: can keep going and build off of last week's performance.
- 19:08Speaker 2: But right now, surprise, surprise, Oklahoma at Michigan, the line
- 19:11Speaker 2: right now has moved. It is now 4.5. Oklahoma's favored
- 19:15Speaker 2: by 4.5. The over-under on this game, the total is 43.5.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Go ahead, continue to get in the kitchen. I've said
- 19:24Speaker 2: a lot.
- 19:24Speaker 1: I'd love to hear your guys' opinion about where this
- 19:27Speaker 1: game stands. I've kind of given my opinion. We can
- 19:31Speaker 1: talk about the game. I think Oklahoma's a great football team.
- 19:35Speaker 2: But go ahead. I think this is Bryce Underwood's biggest
- 19:39Speaker 2: game of his life. Agreed. Because you listen to Coach
- 19:42Speaker 2: Whittingham come out this past week in press conferences, and
- 19:45Speaker 2: the feeling seems to be that his name is written
- 19:48Speaker 2: in pencil as a starter. Even everybody who last year
- 19:52Speaker 2: where Bryce Underwood was either playing well or he wasn't
- 19:55Speaker 2: playing well, it was up and down, it was up
- 19:56Speaker 2: and down, and then coming into this year, it was confidence.
- 19:59Speaker 2: Now I feel like that confidence in the public favoritism
- 20:02Speaker 2: of Bryce Underwood has now turned and your fingers are
- 20:05Speaker 2: crossed behind your back, hoping that he is going to
- 20:08Speaker 2: turn it around because like everybody is now on the
- 20:10Speaker 2: fence of Bryce Underwood. Because you look at last game,
- 20:13Speaker 2: like it was, it was not very good to put
- 20:16Speaker 2: it as lightly as possible. Bryce is a first read cat.
- 20:22Speaker 2: Every throw that I seen him break down, because there
- 20:24Speaker 2: wasn't a lot. I had a little jokingly sarcastic tweet.
- 20:27Speaker 2: Great news. Michigan didn't show a lot of offense when
- 20:29Speaker 2: they face Oklahoma next week. But again, there wasn't a
- 20:32Speaker 2: whole lot of offense shown because out of the 12
- 20:34Speaker 2: throws that Bryce has, five of them are screens. And
- 20:38Speaker 2: then you have the other ones that happen. He has
- 20:42Speaker 2: an interception or a pick six that does get called back, right?
- 20:44Speaker 1: He said the DB steps out of bounds. But he
- 20:47Speaker 1: had one in the first quarter as well. And only
- 20:50Speaker 1: because the DB tips it while his foot is out
- 20:52Speaker 1: of bounds that it wasn't an interception.
- 20:53Speaker 2: His only big throws were the Hail Mary and then
- 20:56Speaker 2: a botched snap that he fumbles and he throws it up.
- 20:58Speaker 2: And my man... One hands it. But other than that,
- 21:01Speaker 2: he knows where he's going pre-snap, and he's going there
- 21:04Speaker 2: no matter what. The pick six, the throwing into a
- 21:07Speaker 2: cloud corner, and he gets his tight end yopped. And
- 21:10Speaker 2: he's kind of smiling after it. I don't really know
- 21:13Speaker 2: if he's meaning it. I have no clue. And then
- 21:15Speaker 2: other throws where he's trying to get the ball downfield,
- 21:18Speaker 2: he's forcing into double coverage. He's not going through any progression.
- 21:23Speaker 2: But if Michigan's going to have a shot to win
- 21:24Speaker 2: this game, in my opinion, they're going to have to
- 21:26Speaker 2: do two things. play penalty-free because they shot themselves in
- 21:30Speaker 2: the foot a lot with penalties, and they're just going
- 21:32Speaker 2: to have to win on early downs because this Oklahoma
- 21:36Speaker 2: defense is fast. They're physical. They get after your ass.
- 21:40Speaker 2: And offensively, there's just not a lot of hope in
- 21:44Speaker 2: my brain that Bryce is just going to turn it
- 21:46Speaker 2: around all of a sudden. when his coach is kind
- 21:48Speaker 2: of saying his name's written in pencil, when everybody's on him,
- 21:51Speaker 2: they're on the fence now of not being really confident.
- 21:53Speaker 2: They got their fingers behind their back. And it's like
- 21:56Speaker 2: all of that pressure, I know he gets paid a
- 21:58Speaker 2: shit ton of money, but all of that going on
- 22:01Speaker 2: in the psyche of a 19 year old that knows
- 22:04Speaker 2: Only he knows if he's going to get to where
- 22:06Speaker 2: he's working his progression.
- 22:07Speaker 1: And one more thing on Bryce is like, yeah, he's 19.
- 22:09Speaker 1: He's making a bunch of money. But this is probably
- 22:11Speaker 1: the first time in his life he's dealing with this
- 22:13Speaker 1: type of adversity from people judging you in a negative
- 22:16Speaker 1: light on the field.
- 22:16Speaker 2: Yeah. Torrey, he's truly getting questioned as a football player. Yes.
- 22:20Speaker 1: Your identity that you've probably had since whenever you put
- 22:23Speaker 1: the cleats on for the first time is now in
- 22:25Speaker 1: question that you're not who you thought you were.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Yeah. Publicly. And then when you look at Oklahoma and
- 22:29Speaker 2: John Mateer, to me, John Mateer is what you hope
- 22:32Speaker 2: Bryce Underwood would be. Because when I watch Mateer, like
- 22:34Speaker 2: he didn't have all the biggest stat line in the world.
- 22:37Speaker 2: But when you watch him play, he's somebody that has
- 22:39Speaker 2: very calm feet. He seems very confident. He's going through
- 22:43Speaker 2: progressions when he is in those moments of throwing the
- 22:45Speaker 2: ball downfield. There's one clip out there. where he's got
- 22:48Speaker 2: a fire zone coming in his face. And his first
- 22:51Speaker 2: read is the seam flat player where it looks like
- 22:54Speaker 2: it's man to man. He feels like he's a little
- 22:55Speaker 2: too tight, but his feet are calm and poised to
- 22:58Speaker 2: where he goes backside and hits old buddy over the
- 23:00Speaker 2: middle while he's getting hit. The run game, you can
- 23:03Speaker 2: tell that they want to establish the run. What is it, Avant,
- 23:06Speaker 2: number nine? Yeah, number nine. You can tell that this
- 23:09Speaker 2: is a team that wants to be physical and run
- 23:11Speaker 2: the ball this year based on how bad they were
- 23:13Speaker 2: at the line of scrimmage last year. And you go to,
- 23:16Speaker 2: they're going to see a lot of, Michigan is going
- 23:18Speaker 2: to see a lot of 12 personnel sets. They might
- 23:20Speaker 2: open it up a little bit more. Oklahoma might not
- 23:22Speaker 2: have shown a lot last week, but they're going to
- 23:24Speaker 2: be in a lot of two tight end sets and
- 23:26Speaker 2: those boys can block.
- 23:28Speaker 3: Those dudes can block, man.
- 23:30Speaker 2: There's not going to be a lot of film that
- 23:31Speaker 2: you see on these tight ends to where they had
- 23:33Speaker 2: an MA, a misassignment or lost physically at the line
- 23:35Speaker 2: of scrimmage. So I feel like all of that, I
- 23:37Speaker 2: trust Michigan's defense. I trust Oklahoma's defense. I'm confident about
- 23:43Speaker 2: Oklahoma feeling good offensively. I feel like I haven't seen
- 23:46Speaker 2: enough there. This is a massive John Mateer game because
- 23:48Speaker 2: he's going to be put in those situations where it's
- 23:50Speaker 2: third and medium and he's going to have to make
- 23:51Speaker 2: some magic with his feet or keep his eyes downfield.
- 23:54Speaker 2: I like the under most in this game just because
- 23:57Speaker 2: the way it swung, Michigan kind of being in a
- 23:59Speaker 2: wounded animal situation. They're going to obviously open up the
- 24:03Speaker 2: playbook and you just hope Bryce Underwood is going to
- 24:07Speaker 2: make the correct decisions, run the ball a little bit more,
- 24:10Speaker 2: go through progressions.
- 24:11Speaker 3: I don't feel like it's there, but where I'm.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Going to go with my bet, I'm going to go
- 24:15Speaker 2: two units on the under, Oklahoma, Michigan. I like that pick.
- 24:20Speaker 2: That's where my analysis is gonna be. I like that pick. Joshua?
- 24:23Speaker 3: Quick potty break.
- 24:24Speaker 2: Boom. Lucy, shout out Lucy. No free shout outs. This
- 24:28Speaker 2: is the daily. Espresso is my favorite. Hands down and
- 24:31Speaker 2: that bite and burst thing where it pops in your
- 24:32Speaker 2: mouth and hits you with flavor. God, I can't get
- 24:34Speaker 2: enough of it. It never gets old. I mostly use
- 24:37Speaker 2: it to lock in. Whether I need a little energy boost, pre-workout, post-workout,
- 24:40Speaker 2: doesn't matter. It works every which way. These bad boys
- 24:43Speaker 2: go up to 12 milligrams. So if you need a

- 24:53Speaker 2: not some big tobacco brand playing dress up. And that

- 25:12Speaker 2: customer's age verified warning. This product does contain nicotine and
- 25:16Speaker 2: nicotine is an addictive chemical. Let's get back to the conversation.
- 25:20Speaker 3: It would really shock me if Michigan got run off
- 25:22Speaker 3: the field. It would not shock me at all if
- 25:24Speaker 3: Michigan won the game. It's like waves in a bathtub.
- 25:27Speaker 3: That's how college football works. That's it doesn't just stay
- 25:30Speaker 3: on one side. Like every action has a reaction. I
- 25:33Speaker 3: don't know if it's equal or opposite. So you and
- 25:36Speaker 3: I were talking about. The concept that sometimes teams just
- 25:40Speaker 3: are not ready to play what they know is an
- 25:42Speaker 3: inferior opponent. And then the result will track, which is
- 25:46Speaker 3: kind of a version of what happened last week. Now,
- 25:48Speaker 3: maybe there are just terminal flaws with this team, but
- 25:50Speaker 3: like you said, we don't know that. It's week one.
- 25:52Speaker 3: So week two comes around, Oklahoma comes to town. Let's
- 25:56Speaker 3: say that dynamic was in place. I don't have to
- 25:57Speaker 3: worry about that against Oklahoma. I know everyone will be
- 26:00Speaker 3: up against Oklahoma. So I'm going to get your absolute best.
- 26:03Speaker 3: At this point, we've got to find out what your
- 26:04Speaker 3: best is. I think it's really dumb, like you said,
- 26:07Speaker 3: for anyone to think, oh, man, Bryce Underwood's got to
- 26:09Speaker 3: step up and win this game. You're not going to
- 26:11Speaker 3: get a great game out of him. You're not going
- 26:12Speaker 3: to get a great box score game out of him.
- 26:14Speaker 3: What you can get is what Georgia Tech did last
- 26:17Speaker 3: year with Haynes King, knowing what you got at quarterback
- 26:21Speaker 3: and running the crap out of him. because that's what
- 26:24Speaker 3: gives you the best chance to win. And I can
- 26:26Speaker 3: tell you those two tailbacks going 16 for 59 yards,
- 26:29Speaker 3: that's not going to get it done. Like to me,
- 26:31Speaker 3: I know Bryce Young or Bryce Underwood rather is the
- 26:34Speaker 3: face of all this, but like offensive line not taking
- 26:38Speaker 3: over the game last week, those tailbacks not taking over
- 26:41Speaker 3: the game, like collectively, just as a team, even if
- 26:44Speaker 3: it's close at half, even if it's close mid third quarter,
- 26:47Speaker 3: you're Michigan. Eventually you just lean and you lean and
- 26:49Speaker 3: you lean and they break cause they're Western and you're
- 26:52Speaker 3: just Michigan. So that never happened. So like, there's gotta
- 26:54Speaker 3: be a soul searching program wide. not just the quarterback position.
- 26:59Speaker 3: And if I were to look up Saturday and let's
- 27:02Speaker 3: say it's like 17 to 16 Michigan in the fourth quarter,
- 27:05Speaker 3: it's probably not because Bryce Underwood's thrown for 310 yards.
- 27:09Speaker 3: His stat line probably looks pretty pedestrian, but he's protected
- 27:12Speaker 3: the ball. They've owned field position. They have not let
- 27:16Speaker 3: Oklahoma be number one in red zone scoring percentage, which
- 27:20Speaker 3: they were offensively last year. They've taken care of business
- 27:22Speaker 3: down there. They've held them to threes. Like they've done
- 27:25Speaker 3: the critical things, hidden yardage stuff, team football, complimentary football.
- 27:30Speaker 3: That's what Michigan should be capable of. Like it wasn't,
- 27:33Speaker 3: but two weeks ago, we sat here and you and I,
- 27:36Speaker 3: and I think maybe Will contributed, but it was mainly
- 27:39Speaker 3: you and I locked into the idea that maybe Michigan's
- 27:41Speaker 3: a sneaky playoff contender. I haven't forgotten why I felt
- 27:45Speaker 3: that way. And the reasons I felt that way are
- 27:47Speaker 3: all still on this team. The problem is that's feel.
- 27:51Speaker 3: And eventually Oklahoma comes to town. I believe in Oklahoma too,
- 27:56Speaker 3: but they're not smoke and mirrors. Oklahoma's not flash. They're
- 28:01Speaker 3: not sizzle. Oklahoma's a wrecking ball. And you don't find
- 28:04Speaker 3: yourself offensively against that kind of team. So to me,
- 28:08Speaker 3: the path is, can I scratch out 20 points here?
- 28:12Speaker 3: And then can I make that enough? That's, to me,
- 28:14Speaker 3: the Michigan plan. And if they score non-offensively, great. But
- 28:18Speaker 3: I'm saying 20 offensive points. Can I find those? And
- 28:22Speaker 3: if I can, I'm very happy with that. And at
- 28:24Speaker 3: that point, I take my chances. I think their shot
- 28:27Speaker 3: here is doing that. is running Bryce Underwood as much
- 28:31Speaker 3: as you need to, and then finding a way to
- 28:33Speaker 3: bait John Mateer into some of those hero balls that
- 28:36Speaker 3: he throws up sometimes, and hoping that you can get
- 28:38Speaker 3: a pick, hoping that maybe defensively you can make something happen.
- 28:42Speaker 3: That scenario does not surprise me at all if it happens.
- 28:45Speaker 3: I'm like a really, really slight one-unit lean to Oklahoma
- 28:50Speaker 3: minus four and a half, or five and a half?
- 28:52Speaker 3: Five and a half?
- 28:53Speaker 2: Five and a half in the last hour. Really? Because
- 28:54Speaker 2: it was at six and a half. We got up
- 28:55Speaker 2: to six and a half yesterday, this morning. So it's
- 29:01Speaker 2: moving around quite a bit. It's moved to another point.
- 29:04Speaker 3: I got to tell you.
- 29:05Speaker 2: What do they know?
- 29:06Speaker 3: Maybe they don't. It's bouncing all around the place. Maybe
- 29:08Speaker 3: they don't know anything.
- 29:08Speaker 2: They're trying to figure it out. You know the public,
- 29:10Speaker 2: the tickets, the heavy percentage is Oklahoma. Yeah, absolutely. And
- 29:14Speaker 2: as they should be.
- 29:15Speaker 1: Like all the things we broke down about Michigan and
- 29:18Speaker 1: how bad they were on offense, it was as a fan,
- 29:22Speaker 1: like I know all the anger that's put towards Michigan.
- 29:26Speaker 1: But the one thing that I would hang my hat
- 29:27Speaker 1: on as a guy that wore the maize and blue
- 29:29Speaker 1: and be excited about every single time is, any team
- 29:31Speaker 1: that went and played Michigan, you would think to yourself like, oh,
- 29:34Speaker 1: you have to buckle your chin strap up a little
- 29:35Speaker 1: bit more and put some more air in your helmet.
- 29:36Speaker 1: Because that is at the very least going to be
- 29:39Speaker 1: an extremely physical game that there are more, more times
- 29:41Speaker 1: than not going to win. That did not take place
- 29:44Speaker 1: in week one. I have a lot of respect. For Oklahoma,
- 29:47Speaker 1: clearly we had a quarter zip situation back in the playoffs.
- 29:50Speaker 1: But still, the school, the pageantry, the blue chip, all
- 29:53Speaker 1: of it, John Mateer bulking up, looking a whole lot better.
- 29:56Speaker 1: I like Oklahoma a lot this year. They returned seven
- 29:59Speaker 1: starters on the defensive side of the ball. They got
- 30:01Speaker 1: a nose tackle that is supposed to be an elite cat.
- 30:04Speaker 1: They got guys that are just disciplined and do not
- 30:07Speaker 1: make mistakes. On the opposite side of the ball you
- 30:09Speaker 1: brought up, they ran 12 a lot. They ran 12,
- 30:10Speaker 1: 50 plays out of their, what, 63 plays? And then
- 30:12Speaker 1: they had 11 more.
- 30:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:16Speaker 1: On an 11 personnel. So they are, Brent Venables, which
- 30:19Speaker 1: we've talked about, is they were horrendous at running the
- 30:21Speaker 1: ball last year. This year, there's a concerted effort to,
- 30:24Speaker 1: we need to run the ball better. So they get
- 30:26Speaker 1: the two transfer tight ends, both great blockers. The one
- 30:29Speaker 1: from Colorado State is a little bit better of a
- 30:31Speaker 1: pass catcher.
- 30:31Speaker 2: Rocky Beers. Rocky Beers. What a name.
- 30:35Speaker 3: And 89's like thick.
- 30:36Speaker 2: You can tell he loves blocking.
- 30:37Speaker 1: The thing that gives me Hope and optimism is Oklahoma's
- 30:43Speaker 1: injuries that have taken place on their offensive line. Their
- 30:46Speaker 1: left tackle, who is an elite talent, I think this
- 30:49Speaker 1: kid's got a very special future, especially on Sundays. He's
- 30:53Speaker 1: nursing this right arm. Like you see it throughout the game.
- 30:55Speaker 1: I think he only played like 17 snaps and they're
- 30:57Speaker 1: wondering if he's not. And they have a couple more
- 30:59Speaker 1: guys that are backups that are injured that may or
- 31:01Speaker 1: may not be back coming into Saturday. But if he
- 31:03Speaker 1: does play, the guy going against him is John Henry Daly,
- 31:05Speaker 1: who had 11 and a half sacks before he tore
- 31:07Speaker 1: his Achilles last year at the University of Utah. On
- 31:09Speaker 1: the other side of him is Dom Nichols, who had
- 31:11Speaker 1: two sacks against a Western Michigan team that threw the
- 31:14Speaker 1: ball like 14 times throughout the game. So this is
- 31:16Speaker 1: a very talented, very aggressive defensive line. And I say
- 31:21Speaker 1: defensive aggressive hesitantly Because what gets teams into trouble with
- 31:25Speaker 1: John Mateer is over-aggression in your pass rush. So there
- 31:29Speaker 1: has to be a level of rushing the passer, making
- 31:32Speaker 1: John Mateer feel uncomfortable to throw those hero balls, but
- 31:36Speaker 1: also keeping it in a cage rush where he doesn't
- 31:38Speaker 1: have a lot of outlets to go and run. Because
- 31:40Speaker 1: you're going to have a Todd Bowles, a Nathaniel Staley
- 31:43Speaker 1: out there basically mirroring John Mateer the whole time, shadowing him,
- 31:46Speaker 1: watching him. So if he does break out of contain,
- 31:49Speaker 1: you have a guy on him quickly so he can't
- 31:50Speaker 1: hurt you with his legs. Offensive side of the ball.
- 31:54Speaker 1: You have so many guys returning on the offensive line.
- 31:56Speaker 1: I think the whole team has starting experience from last year.
- 32:02Speaker 1: You have a little bit of an exchange taking place
- 32:04Speaker 1: of who's going to really start at the guard position.
- 32:07Speaker 1: But Harding, the O-line coach, he's one of the best
- 32:10Speaker 1: O-line coaches in college football. He's had multiple first-round picks
- 32:12Speaker 1: at the University of Utah. He's been with them for
- 32:14Speaker 1: a long time. Then there's Bryce. And I think you
- 32:19Speaker 1: put it perfectly about this kid– This is truly judgment
- 32:23Speaker 1: day for him. This is not like a, hey, we'll
- 32:26Speaker 1: get him next week type of mentality when it comes
- 32:28Speaker 1: to Michigan. After Whittingham's thoughts about the public at the university,
- 32:32Speaker 1: we are truly going to find out on Saturday who
- 32:36Speaker 1: this kid is and what he's truly made of. Because
- 32:39Speaker 1: this is the first time in his life that he's
- 32:40Speaker 1: been backed into a corner and people have pointed out
- 32:42Speaker 1: and be like, maybe you're not the football player we
- 32:44Speaker 1: thought you were. And two things are going to happen.
- 32:46Speaker 1: He's going to adapt or he's going to die. And
- 32:47Speaker 1: I think the way you adapt is you sit there
- 32:50Speaker 1: as Jason Beck, the offensive coordinator, and you say you
- 32:51Speaker 1: have one, maybe two reads. And once those two reads are–
- 32:55Speaker 1: if they're not clean, get out, use your legs.
- 32:58Speaker 2: You run them.
- 32:59Speaker 1: I think there's been a lot of– negativity surrounding like
- 33:04Speaker 1: his toughness about like when, when people are at his feet,
- 33:07Speaker 1: when the pocket starts to close a little bit, that's
- 33:09Speaker 1: when you see a lot of those throw in a
- 33:10Speaker 1: double coverage, taking hits, fumbling. To me, it's like, Hey,
- 33:14Speaker 1: like you need to prove that you're tough. You need
- 33:16Speaker 1: to prove that you can make the decisions and you
- 33:17Speaker 1: can take care of the football. But at the end
- 33:19Speaker 1: of the day, one game and how bad that rush
- 33:22Speaker 1: was when you have all of your starters back from
- 33:24Speaker 1: the year before on the offensive line, it can't be
- 33:27Speaker 1: that way. There's to me, it's like, We looked at
- 33:31Speaker 1: Whittingham and it's like this coach is a winning head
- 33:34Speaker 1: coach at a, no disrespect, a program that doesn't get
- 33:37Speaker 1: the same amount of talent as Michigan gets. Yet every
- 33:40Speaker 1: year he's put nine, 10 wins on the board and
- 33:43Speaker 1: he's doing it without a drafted quarterback. The last drafted
- 33:47Speaker 1: quarterback he has was Alex Smith in 2011. That was
- 33:51Speaker 1: a first round pick. So all those things considered, if
- 33:54Speaker 1: your quarterback is not doing well, Kyle Whittingham should be
- 33:57Speaker 1: the perfect coach to have on your team. to make
- 34:01Speaker 1: your offense still successful in those ways. You had Jordan Marshall,
- 34:04Speaker 1: who rushed for, I think he was like 38 yards
- 34:06Speaker 1: away from 1,000 yards last year. You have Savion Hyder,
- 34:09Speaker 1: who was the best running back in his class.
- 34:11Speaker 2: You got, who's.
- 34:13Speaker 1: The receiver, number three, Marsh. Andrew Marsh, who had almost
- 34:18Speaker 1: 1,000 yards last year, and with a quarterback that had
- 34:20Speaker 1: bad numbers.
- 34:21Speaker 2: J.J.
- 34:21Speaker 1: Buchanan, who was truly the only highlight of the offense.
- 34:25Speaker 1: He had 125 yards receiving. So you have all this talent,
- 34:30Speaker 1: Put the ball down. Make it gritty. Don't look at
- 34:34Speaker 1: scoring a touchdown on a drive as a win or
- 34:35Speaker 1: a loss. Sustain drives in the first and second quarter.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Don't go three and out. Figure out a way to
- 34:40Speaker 1: move the sticks, even if it ends up in three.
- 34:43Speaker 1: Even if you end up taking five, six minutes off
- 34:44Speaker 1: the clock and then end up punting. Those are the
- 34:47Speaker 1: small things when you're in a position like this offense
- 34:49Speaker 1: is that is going to breed success for the long
- 34:52Speaker 1: haul because I believe that this defense is going to
- 34:54Speaker 1: keep this game close. We have a great defense. We
- 34:58Speaker 1: have Two corners and a safety that will play on Sundays.
- 35:02Speaker 1: We have three Dean linemen that I believe will play
- 35:04Speaker 1: on Sundays. We have so much talent, and Jay Hill,
- 35:07Speaker 1: who we'll get to BYU in a little bit, had
- 35:09Speaker 1: a top 20 defense with a BYU logo on his hat.
- 35:15Speaker 1: And then people talk about how can you make this
- 35:18Speaker 1: big of a turnaround? How can this take place? And
- 35:20Speaker 1: yet we forget that two years ago, Notre Dame goes
- 35:24Speaker 1: and beats Texas A & M in a dramatic fashion,
- 35:26Speaker 1: the next week lays an egg against NIU and still
- 35:28Speaker 1: makes it to the national championship. We forget that 2014,
- 35:33Speaker 1: Virginia Tech walked into Columbus, Ohio and beat that ass
- 35:36Speaker 1: 35-14 and Ohio State went and won the national championship
- 35:39Speaker 1: that year. So one week doesn't define a team. I've
- 35:42Speaker 1: said from the beginning, week two is where I judge
- 35:44Speaker 1: my team and I'll continue to judge my team. I
- 35:47Speaker 1: got five units on Michigan Moneyline.
- 35:51Speaker 2: Oh, shit. I got five units, Michigan Moneyline. If you're
- 35:54Speaker 2: not going to back your team. Talk to them.
- 35:56Speaker 1: If you're not going to back your team in moments
- 35:57Speaker 1: of adversity, shame on you. That's the only thing that
- 35:59Speaker 1: can make you a bad fan.
- 36:03Speaker 2: Damn. You're coming for blood this way.
- 36:04Speaker 3: This is going to be bloody Saturday for Taylor 1.
- 36:06Speaker 1: This will be the most physical game anybody will watch
- 36:08Speaker 1: this college football season.
- 36:11Speaker 2: I got to, I got to. I got to digest that.
- 36:13Speaker 2: That took me out of nowhere. I think I talked
- 36:15Speaker 2: for 15 minutes.
- 36:16Speaker 3: I might have talked for 15 minutes.
- 36:18Speaker 2: You laid out the entire roster of Michigan.
- 36:22Speaker 1: Dude, we are going to talk about other games. This
- 36:25Speaker 1: is the one that matters. Like all the other ones.
- 36:28Speaker 3: Texas Ohio State, boys.
- 36:30Speaker 1: You guys have a great time on this show. This is,
- 36:33Speaker 1: it's more than a game. This is, dude, we sit here.
- 36:38Speaker 4: Since the season ends, and you just hope that your teams,
- 36:42Speaker 4: you watch the transfer portal, you watch spring ball, and
- 36:45Speaker 4: you get to week one and that happens, I can't
- 36:47Speaker 4: have my season end like that.
- 36:49Speaker 2: You won't have your season end like that. I will
- 36:51Speaker 2: not have my season end.
- 36:52Speaker 1: And if it does, I am on the Titanic, and
- 36:56Speaker 1: I am the captain of the ship, and I will
- 36:57Speaker 1: watch that water come in, and I can't wait to
- 36:59Speaker 1: drown with my team if that's the case.
- 37:01Speaker 2: It's an honor to die with that team this weekend,
- 37:03Speaker 2: if that's the case. So now you're dying? I'll kill myself, dude.
- 37:09Speaker 2: It's going to be an honor to die with my
- 37:10Speaker 2: team this weekend.
- 37:12Speaker 3: We're laughing.
- 37:13Speaker 2: No, I'm just kidding. Anyway, that's how I feel. Under, under,
- 37:17Speaker 2: Michigan Moneyline. No, Josh went.
- 37:20Speaker 3: No, I went OU. I went OU for one unit. Wow.
- 37:26Speaker 3: You never gave it away.
- 37:27Speaker 2: It's all words, dude.
- 37:28Speaker 3: You never gave away.
- 37:29Speaker 2: It's all words. I can't play the game.
- 37:31Speaker 3: The table slapped.
- 37:31Speaker 2: I can't play the game. Josh, I can't play the game.
- 37:35Speaker 3: Of course you understand.
- 37:35Speaker 2: I wish to God I could. I wish I could
- 37:37Speaker 2: get out there for one more. One more round. I
- 37:40Speaker 2: know you do, bud. Fuck, man. Where are we at next, boys?
- 37:50Speaker 3: I'm just, you know, you try and think ahead. You
- 37:53Speaker 3: try and plan ahead in life. And I'm just thinking Saturday, 5.30,
- 37:58Speaker 3: 6 o'clock, dust has settled. We know the result. I
- 38:03Speaker 3: picked Oklahoma. I think I may pull for Michigan.
- 38:07Speaker 2: That you're in a great spot to do it because
- 38:08Speaker 2: you only put one unit on it.
- 38:09Speaker 3: Yeah, like I'm, if it took that to save your
- 38:12Speaker 3: life in the most literal of senses, I may pull
- 38:17Speaker 3: for Michigan.
- 38:19Speaker 2: Yeah, because five, six- He just went Josh Pather. He
- 38:21Speaker 2: won't move his unit.
- 38:22Speaker 3: I know.
- 38:23Speaker 2: And trust me, I know where the trenches are. No, no, no.
- 38:25Speaker 3: You stay far away from the unit.
- 38:27Speaker 2: No, no.
- 38:28Speaker 3: I know what I want to do in my unit.
- 38:30Speaker 2: I'm in the trenches and I'm looking out and going, guys,
- 38:32Speaker 2: you coming?
- 38:33Speaker 1: And I got one guy going, I think you're going
- 38:35Speaker 1: to lose, but only by a little bit.
- 38:37Speaker 2: And the other guy going, going to be a low
- 38:38Speaker 2: scoring game. And I just got my helmet on and
- 38:41Speaker 2: I'm sitting there and I'm.
- 38:42Speaker 3: Like, there's a lot of them because there's a lot
- 38:44Speaker 3: of help, fellas.
- 38:46Speaker 2: Could use some help over here. Holy shit, there's a
- 38:48Speaker 2: lot of them.
- 38:50Speaker 3: There sure is, man. There really is.
- 38:52Speaker 2: That's the whole country?
- 38:53Speaker 3: That's the whole country coming at me?
- 38:55Speaker 2: I'm not going to lose it. It's going to be
- 38:56Speaker 2: low scoring. It's going to be low scoring. Good game.
- 38:58Speaker 2: Good game.
- 38:59Speaker 3: Great game.
- 39:00Speaker 2: I hope to God it's a good game, man. Fuck. Hey,
- 39:05Speaker 2: Tennessee at Georgia Tech. Yeah. Pays on Brandon. Pays on Brandon.
- 39:13Speaker 2: Tennessee at Georgia Tech right now. Tennessee is favored. Faison
- 39:18Speaker 2: Brandon's first start on the road at 12 and a half.
- 39:20Speaker 2: The over-under on this game, 55 and a half. Josh,
- 39:25Speaker 2: do you have a good feel about this game? Do
- 39:26Speaker 2: you feel confident about this game?
- 39:28Speaker 3: Not a great one, no. Our number's 12 and a
- 39:30Speaker 3: half right now. Model is screaming Georgia Tech. And yet,
- 39:34Speaker 3: I listened to Brent Key at his press conference yesterday
- 39:37Speaker 3: laughing about his own team. Maybe it's psychological. Maybe it's
- 39:41Speaker 3: mind games. Or maybe when the guy said, hey, so
- 39:44Speaker 3: Josh Heupel says you've got a physical team. And when
- 39:46Speaker 3: Brent Key said, Did Josh say that before or after
- 39:49Speaker 3: week one? If he said it after week one, I
- 39:51Speaker 3: think he's just trying to be funny. Maybe Brent keeps
- 39:53Speaker 3: being dead serious. Maybe they just don't have what they
- 39:55Speaker 3: thought they had. Colorado went in. There was no fluke
- 39:59Speaker 3: that Colorado won that game. It feels like it was
- 40:01Speaker 3: a long time ago, but like Colorado went in there
- 40:04Speaker 3: and like, kind of handled Georgia Tech. Didn't dominate them,
- 40:07Speaker 3: but like they handled Georgia Tech in a way that
- 40:09Speaker 3: was really surprising. And you're not ever going to convince
- 40:11Speaker 3: me Georgia Tech wasn't up for the game or anything
- 40:13Speaker 3: like that. It's a home opener. It's on national TV.
- 40:16Speaker 3: So Tennessee, the only thing I wonder is like, I
- 40:20Speaker 3: think Tennessee's really good on the offensive line. They got
- 40:23Speaker 3: at least two really good tailbacks. It is a true
- 40:26Speaker 3: freshman quarterback's first start against legit competition on the road.
- 40:30Speaker 3: So like you kind of wonder how he'll handle it.
- 40:32Speaker 3: If you want a wounded animal, This is your wounded animal.
- 40:35Speaker 3: This is Georgia Tech after having Dion come into your
- 40:39Speaker 3: house and beat you. And now that was the one
- 40:42Speaker 3: spotlight game. This is your bigger spotlight game. This is
- 40:44Speaker 3: the SEC coming to your backyard. You're a double-digit dog
- 40:47Speaker 3: in your own building. You've still got a lot of newness.
- 40:50Speaker 3: They're so new as a team. They brought in so
- 40:53Speaker 3: many new pieces, new coordinators, new players all over the place,
- 40:56Speaker 3: new quarterback. I just wonder if it's settled in enough.
- 41:00Speaker 3: So I don't have a lot of confidence at all
- 41:02Speaker 3: in this game. I certainly think Tennessee is going to
- 41:04Speaker 3: end up winning the game. That has big implications for
- 41:06Speaker 3: us traveling down the road, possibly, if Tennessee wins or
- 41:09Speaker 3: loses this game. I very slightly lean Georgia Tech plus 12.5.
- 41:15Speaker 3: This is another one-unit bet for me.
- 41:18Speaker 1: So you're in the leader of the clubhouse, and now
- 41:20Speaker 1: you're getting conservative with your units.
- 41:21Speaker 3: I'm just looking out the window.
- 41:23Speaker 2: Yeah. Sitting out there going, this is nice. I want
- 41:25Speaker 2: to stay in here. Playing not to lose in week two.
- 41:27Speaker 3: That guy over there is already down 11. That guy
- 41:30Speaker 3: here is dead.
- 41:31Speaker 6: No, no.
- 41:31Speaker 2: This guy is right behind you. In the unit category,
- 41:35Speaker 2: this week, though, if.
- 41:36Speaker 3: It goes my way.
- 41:37Speaker 2: We've got a long season.
- 41:38Speaker 3: We do.
- 41:38Speaker 2: It's a long season. It's a long season.
- 41:41Speaker 1: There was a couple of whispers yesterday, like, hey, you
- 41:43Speaker 1: did pretty good in the first locker room. And it's
- 41:45Speaker 1: just like, that's pickles on a sandwich.
- 41:47Speaker 3: We take them and leave that poison.
- 41:48Speaker 2: It's rat poison.
- 41:49Speaker 1: Because it's like, yeah, where you start in week one
- 41:52Speaker 1: is not where you finish.
- 41:53Speaker 2: Shout out Michigan week two. Do not go anywhere because
- 41:56Speaker 2: I am here to protect your pockets. This football season,
- 41:59Speaker 2: whether you're buying tickets, booking travel, or shopping for team gear,
- 42:02Speaker 2: protect your pocket with Visa. Tapping to pay for a
- 42:06Speaker 2: bootleg Jersey without checking the card, not a pro move
- 42:09Speaker 2: tapping to pay with visa. That's a pro move. Visa
- 42:12Speaker 2: runs more than 500 security checks to identify fraud before
- 42:16Speaker 2: each transaction is approved. So you don't have to worry
- 42:20Speaker 2: except for how that medium Jersey fits after another dozen
- 42:22Speaker 2: wings this season. Remember a great defensive play is when
- 42:26Speaker 2: you pay with visa, the most trusted way to pay
- 42:29Speaker 2: for football fans everywhere. Um, I like all the things
- 42:33Speaker 2: you said.
- 42:34Speaker 1: Georgia Tech, when they get Justice Hayes, when you talk
- 42:38Speaker 1: about the size of their offensive line, Mendoza, he just
- 42:41Speaker 1: watched his brother win a national championship. I'm really impressed
- 42:44Speaker 1: with the way Mendoza played that game, given the fact
- 42:46Speaker 1: that they could not run the ball at all. What
- 42:49Speaker 1: concerns me the most with Georgia Tech is their offensive-defensive line. Colorado,
- 42:53Speaker 1: kind of the biggest news coming out of Colorado in
- 42:55Speaker 1: the offseason was how small their team looked and how
- 42:58Speaker 1: little they looked. Yet, They own the line of scrimmage
- 43:01Speaker 1: on both sides of the ball. And I also agree
- 43:03Speaker 1: with you where Tennessee has a much better offensive line
- 43:07Speaker 1: than Colorado has. And when I put on the film
- 43:09Speaker 1: against Furman, I don't think Tennessee's offensive line played particularly well.
- 43:13Speaker 1: Like they just kind of leaned on guys. Sanders, that
- 43:16Speaker 1: left tackle, I think he is like another world talent where,
- 43:19Speaker 1: you know, probably a first round pick, but he's very
- 43:22Speaker 1: raw technically to where some of these Furman defensive linemen
- 43:25Speaker 1: are getting him like falling over at the hips, kind
- 43:27Speaker 1: of waist bending quite a bit and getting around him
- 43:29Speaker 1: a little bit. But I love Josh Heupel. And I
- 43:34Speaker 1: love his play calling ability. I love how he has
- 43:36Speaker 1: a freshman quarterback starting for the first time. And as
- 43:39Speaker 1: much yards as he's thrown for, he didn't put too
- 43:41Speaker 1: much on his plate with super complex routes and having
- 43:46Speaker 1: multiple reads. It was, hey, you got these one or
- 43:49Speaker 1: two things. If that doesn't work out, extend the play.
- 43:51Speaker 1: If you see something else, if not, run. It was
- 43:52Speaker 1: a very simplistic game plan. But I like the way Heupel,
- 43:56Speaker 1: if things aren't working in the pass game, he'll go
- 43:58Speaker 1: to the run game. And he has that ability with
- 44:00Speaker 1: Bishop in the backfield with that offensive line. And obviously
- 44:03Speaker 1: with Faison Brandon, his ability to run the ball. I
- 44:06Speaker 1: love the story of Georgia Tech going into week one,
- 44:09Speaker 1: getting embarrassed, coming out in week two.
- 44:11Speaker 2: But I'm not, I put the film on it.
- 44:14Speaker 1: I'm not so sure that Furman's defensive line isn't better
- 44:17Speaker 1: than Georgia Tech's defensive line based on the film that
- 44:19Speaker 1: I saw. And they were playing against better talent. So
- 44:22Speaker 1: I like Tennessee minus 12 and a half here. I
- 44:25Speaker 1: think Mendoza, he hurt his ankle in the second quarter
- 44:30Speaker 1: of that game. He was hobbling around a little bit.
- 44:32Speaker 1: Clearly had fight, had leadership, character, the whole thing when
- 44:35Speaker 1: he was playing and tried to will his team into
- 44:38Speaker 1: an almost win. But Tennessee, I think, is too good.
- 44:43Speaker 1: I think their defensive line is too good. They got a,
- 44:46Speaker 1: what is it? What's the kid's name?
- 44:47Speaker 2: Avian? Aaron? Arian. Aaron Carter.
- 44:51Speaker 1: He's coming back after the suspension because he took some
- 44:53Speaker 1: money to get on a flight to go see a scout.
- 44:55Speaker 2: He's back.
- 44:55Speaker 1: He's a great defensive player. I like Tennessee a lot
- 44:59Speaker 1: in this position. Dude, hit the table again.
- 45:02Speaker 2: I'm not hitting the table. You only get one.
- 45:03Speaker 3: You only get one.
- 45:04Speaker 2: You should try. You only get one.
- 45:05Speaker 1: I'll put three units on it. I'll put three units
- 45:08Speaker 1: on Tennessee minus 12 and a half.
- 45:10Speaker 3: Is that legal?
- 45:11Speaker 2: I just, I slapped it. It's at three and a half.
- 45:13Speaker 2: He's going to hit the table.
- 45:14Speaker 3: I like the confidence. Can I say this?
- 45:17Speaker 2: Three units.
- 45:17Speaker 3: That number is 12 and a half right now?
- 45:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:20Speaker 3: Let's say that Faison Brandon deep throw highlight that was
- 45:24Speaker 3: circulating Twitter, because you know people didn't watch the Furman game,
- 45:26Speaker 3: so they saw that highlight. Let's say that doesn't circulate
- 45:29Speaker 3: like it did. And let's say the ending of that
- 45:32Speaker 3: Colorado game really is just Alberto Mendoza leads them down,
- 45:37Speaker 3: Georgia Tech scores, Colorado does not have time because Georgia
- 45:40Speaker 3: Tech handles their timeouts more properly, and Georgia Tech beats
- 45:42Speaker 3: Colorado close. What do you think that number would be?
- 45:46Speaker 2: I think it would be 7.5.
- 45:46Speaker 3: I think it would be like 8.5 or 9. So
- 45:49Speaker 3: I think it's overinflated. That's why I'm taking Georgia Tech
- 45:52Speaker 3: to cover Tennessee to win one unit.
- 45:54Speaker 2: That's fair. So you're playing pretend.
- 45:57Speaker 3: No, I'm not. Sometimes we have to. Let's pretend you.
- 46:01Speaker 2: Don't see that clip. Dude, Brent Key's got to be
- 46:05Speaker 2: disgusted with what he saw on tape against Colorado. Colorado,
- 46:08Speaker 2: to your point, Taylor, they were able to run the football.
- 46:11Speaker 2: I mean, nine penalties. Also, you talked about Mendoza, but
- 46:14Speaker 2: five for 13 on third down. If you're Brent Key,
- 46:16Speaker 2: you got to be like, what the... Like, no disrespect
- 46:19Speaker 2: to Colorado, but what are we doing against Colorado and
- 46:22Speaker 2: getting pushed around by Colorado? Tennessee, in my opinion, is...
- 46:26Speaker 2: They're a team that's going to be sitting there in
- 46:28Speaker 2: the conversation of the SEC. And in my opinion, maybe
- 46:33Speaker 2: itching for the playoffs, like an eight plus win Tennessee team. Dude,
- 46:37Speaker 2: I love Hypo with quarterbacks. It does not matter who
- 46:40Speaker 2: the quarterback is.
- 46:41Speaker 3: He's proved it.
- 46:42Speaker 2: Nico had his best year when he was a freshman
- 46:44Speaker 2: with Hypo at Tennessee. It was like, who is this
- 46:46Speaker 2: Joey Aguilar kid? He wasn't a runner whatsoever. He balled out.
- 46:51Speaker 3: And now you got Faison Brandon, who is a stud.
- 46:54Speaker 3: He is a dude.
- 46:55Speaker 2: He had a couple freshman moments to where maybe he
- 46:57Speaker 2: missed a receiver or his timing was off or his
- 47:00Speaker 2: alignment was off mentally for what the receiver was going
- 47:02Speaker 2: to do to where he whips one out of bounds.
- 47:04Speaker 2: But I like the ability. He didn't look like a
- 47:06Speaker 2: freshman back there. He had a lot of poise. And
- 47:09Speaker 2: I listen to you say like, yeah, this veteran offensive
- 47:12Speaker 2: line didn't have the best game in the trenches. but
- 47:17Speaker 2: also a part of me as I watch the tape
- 47:18Speaker 2: because they run a lot of these 30 backfield looks
- 47:21Speaker 2: to where there's three guys in the backfield. So it's
- 47:23Speaker 2: like a one-team. Yeah, exactly. And there's a lot of
- 47:27Speaker 2: moving parts because you have true quarterback design run. You
- 47:30Speaker 2: have zone reads with sifters and pullers. You have RPOs
- 47:34Speaker 2: off of it. You have quarterback draws. You have a
- 47:37Speaker 2: lot of things that they're trying to do from a
- 47:39Speaker 2: schematic standpoint to where I just think this veteran group
- 47:42Speaker 2: will get going and they will get more comfortable to
- 47:44Speaker 2: where there will be more wrinkles. And maybe you could
- 47:47Speaker 2: break this down on an offensive line standpoint, but maybe
- 47:49Speaker 2: that puts you on your heels a little bit more
- 47:51Speaker 2: because you might not know what the defense is going
- 47:54Speaker 2: to give you.
- 47:54Speaker 3: When they see looks like that.
- 47:56Speaker 2: Like teams that are now going to be practicing against
- 47:58Speaker 2: some of these looks, there's a lot of things that
- 48:01Speaker 2: you have to do because it's not like a traditional
- 48:03Speaker 2: two tight ends on the ball or one tight end
- 48:04Speaker 2: off the ball. And the gap might change once or
- 48:07Speaker 2: the gap might change with pullers. It's like, yo, there
- 48:09Speaker 2: are three guys back there to where pullers can happen.
- 48:12Speaker 2: Sifters can happen. You can flood a zone one way.
- 48:15Speaker 2: And also you've got to worry about what is my
- 48:16Speaker 2: responsibility if it is a zone read or if it
- 48:19Speaker 2: is an RPO to where you're a little hesitant, especially
- 48:22Speaker 2: on the second level, to where you might not get
- 48:24Speaker 2: back in that window in time. Because Faison Brandon is
- 48:26Speaker 2: doing a great job of seeing the one key he
- 48:29Speaker 2: needs to see to where This is a design run,
- 48:31Speaker 2: but it's a run pass option. I'm going to whip
- 48:33Speaker 2: it out to the side with Mike Matthews. And you've
- 48:35Speaker 2: got a back like Deshaun Bishop in the backfield who
- 48:38Speaker 2: had over 1,000 last year. To me, this offense is
- 48:41Speaker 2: going to do nothing but get better. And I just
- 48:43Speaker 2: think what I saw from Georgia Tech's defensive line And again,
- 48:46Speaker 2: the penalties, the five for 13 on third down. I
- 48:49Speaker 2: like Tennessee a lot here. I like him at minus
- 48:52Speaker 2: 12 and a half. I like him so much. This
- 48:54Speaker 2: is my pound the table bet.
- 48:55Speaker 1: Oh, wow.
- 48:55Speaker 2: You're on five.
- 48:56Speaker 3: I love Tennessee.
- 48:57Speaker 2: I know freshman quarterback on the road for his first time.
- 49:01Speaker 2: Jesse was in my ear before. I started to let
- 49:04Speaker 2: a little bit of doubt come in my brain about it. But, man,
- 49:07Speaker 2: when I watch this offense, I think they're going to
- 49:09Speaker 2: do nothing but get better and get more comfortable in
- 49:12Speaker 2: all of the scheme that they're doing because they have
- 49:14Speaker 2: a lot there. And Faison Brandon, he can whip the
- 49:17Speaker 2: ball around and he can run. We're going to be
- 49:19Speaker 2: talking about Camargo. Taylor here in a little bit, but
- 49:21Speaker 2: kind of an iteration of that guy where you can
- 49:23Speaker 2: do anything. He can do anything. He's got freak athletic ability.
- 49:25Speaker 2: From the offensive line's perspective, what you're saying, when you
- 49:27Speaker 2: have that kind of wing teeth, 30 back, it can
- 49:30Speaker 2: look very confusing for an offensive lineman because when you
- 49:33Speaker 2: condense everything in there, we have three backs in the
- 49:35Speaker 2: backfield behind the line of scrimmage. Now you get more
- 49:38Speaker 2: linebackers and safety is kind of in the box as well.
- 49:41Speaker 2: But the simple way to do it is like if
- 49:43Speaker 2: you're going to run a zone read or a gap scheme,
- 49:46Speaker 2: look out of those. And then the backfield has their
- 49:49Speaker 2: crazy motions.
- 49:49Speaker 1: And shifts and everything. That's going to be much more
- 49:51Speaker 1: confusing for the defense. It just becomes a number game.
- 49:53Speaker 1: So if you're the left tackle in the situation, you
- 49:55Speaker 1: count one, two, okay, I go to three. to where
- 49:57Speaker 1: you know at this play, I'm going to the three
- 50:00Speaker 1: spot here. So you can count off to where it
- 50:03Speaker 1: looks really like there's a congested box. But at the end,
- 50:06Speaker 1: it's all going to kind of open up because you
- 50:07Speaker 1: have one back going this way, another one going that way,
- 50:10Speaker 1: face is not rolling out. So you can just count that. Okay,
- 50:14Speaker 1: I have this guy or the guy that ends up
- 50:15Speaker 1: in this spot. So you can really simplify with that
- 50:19Speaker 1: kind of wing T look as an offensive lineman. It's
- 50:21Speaker 1: just a matter of the coach going, Hey, don't, don't
- 50:23Speaker 1: talk about Mike's and Sam's and wills or Jack's or plugs.
- 50:26Speaker 1: Like you just need to go one, two. That's my
- 50:28Speaker 1: guy right there.
- 50:29Speaker 3: Right.
- 50:29Speaker 1: You know, or you're going to a location like power,
- 50:32Speaker 1: any kid out there that runs power or wants to
- 50:34Speaker 1: run power. If it's to the left side, close your eyes,
- 50:37Speaker 1: go to one o'clock and you're going to be correct.
- 50:39Speaker 1: Like it's really just gaps. It's so simple when you
- 50:42Speaker 1: do the base place. Cause you can, the best thing
- 50:45Speaker 1: about Josh Hypel is he runs a thousand different motions.
- 50:49Speaker 1: He has a thousand different looks, but 90% of his
- 50:52Speaker 1: plays are so basic. It's the window dressing that takes place.
- 50:56Speaker 1: So it's very easy on the offensive line and it
- 50:59Speaker 1: looks very confusing. But at the end of the day,
- 51:01Speaker 1: if you took a snapshot at the end when the
- 51:03Speaker 1: ball is snapped, it's like, okay, this is clearly a
- 51:06Speaker 1: West Wing alignment and they're running duo. They're running zone.
- 51:10Speaker 2: And that's where.
- 51:11Speaker 1: Especially in college when you have these younger cats, you know,
- 51:14Speaker 1: we're about to talk about BYU in a second. Some
- 51:15Speaker 1: guys are 30, but you get into a position where
- 51:18Speaker 1: it's like guys aren't going to be able to differentiate
- 51:20Speaker 1: all the American primeval. It's making a comeback.
- 51:22Speaker 2: Into like a question for you or maybe just an
- 51:25Speaker 2: assumption like on the scouting card when you're going against
- 51:28Speaker 2: what the defense could potentially do. You're seeing all the
- 51:31Speaker 2: scouting cards to where they're trying to run it correctly.
- 51:34Speaker 2: Whereas an offensive lineman, you might be seeing your second
- 51:37Speaker 2: level player who's in the three count who might just
- 51:39Speaker 2: make a mistake and they just get a little unsure.
- 51:41Speaker 2: Do I still go this direction? Do I just pound
- 51:43Speaker 2: down here to where you're kind of thinking a little
- 51:45Speaker 2: bit to where all the classroom work is like, hey,
- 51:47Speaker 2: if they make that mistake, Here's where the upside is.
- 51:50Speaker 2: Here's where it's beneficial. Don't worry about this. Because I
- 51:52Speaker 2: feel like you are going to get a lot of
- 51:54Speaker 2: confusion when you are trying to game plan against the
- 51:57Speaker 2: 20 and 30 look backfield sets that you get against Tennessee.
- 52:00Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's where it turns into you go from
- 52:02Speaker 1: the number count to you go to spots. Like middle
- 52:04Speaker 1: of the field is where you're going to where the
- 52:06Speaker 1: mic would usually be. You're going to go backside to
- 52:08Speaker 1: where the wheel would usually be.
- 52:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 52:10Speaker 1: And that makes it so much easier. A lot of
- 52:12Speaker 1: offensive line, and we can go back to the mission
- 52:14Speaker 1: game and talk about it, but I won't, is sometimes
- 52:17Speaker 1: you just got to pull the ripcord and realize you're
- 52:19Speaker 1: going to a location and the guy that's in that
- 52:22Speaker 1: spot is most likely going to be your guy. And
- 52:24Speaker 1: if you just simplify the game, now you can play
- 52:26Speaker 1: a hell of a lot faster. Tennessee, they didn't play
- 52:30Speaker 1: great on the offensive line. They had an inferior opponent,
- 52:32Speaker 1: so they were very successful. But they have so much
- 52:36Speaker 1: talent on that offensive line, other than that right tackle
- 52:38Speaker 1: was a little shaky. He moved into guard, but.
- 52:42Speaker 2: That's how I feel.
- 52:42Speaker 1: I like 12 and a half, and I like buying
- 52:45Speaker 1: Wilcox and Sokolow now when we started the show, when
- 52:48Speaker 1: we talk about the pessimist versus the optimist. I was
- 52:50Speaker 1: kind of on the pessimist side, like I don't know
- 52:51Speaker 1: what I was going to do. But now that we're
- 52:53Speaker 1: in the trenches together, I love Tennessee.
- 52:55Speaker 2: Yeah, there we go. I'm at three. I'm at three
- 52:57Speaker 2: on that one. Going to Michigan's office, do you guys
- 53:00Speaker 2: have a lot of veterans on your offensive line? We
- 53:02Speaker 2: have a lot of guys that have starts, yes.
- 53:04Speaker 3: Okay.
- 53:05Speaker 2: Yes. I was trying to bait you into breaking down.
- 53:08Speaker 2: I can. I was going to say.
- 53:10Speaker 3: No, please don't. We can do that if you want.
- 53:12Speaker 1: Yeah, if we want to spend another hour on Michigan,
- 53:14Speaker 1: we can do that on the show.
- 53:16Speaker 2: Okay, all right, yeah. Hell yeah, folks.
- 53:20Speaker 3: Hell yeah.
- 53:20Speaker 2: You brought up the 30-year-olds playing for BYU. Let's just
- 53:23Speaker 2: go down to Arizona. Let's go down to Arizona at BYU.
- 53:26Speaker 2: They're playing in Provo. BYU is favored by 7.5 here.
- 53:29Speaker 2: The over-under on this game is 47.5 points. Who's got
- 53:33Speaker 2: a great feel for this game? Because I don't. You don't?
- 53:37Speaker 2: Was it with the line chain? No, it's seven and
- 53:39Speaker 2: a half still.
- 53:39Speaker 3: Seven and a half.
- 53:40Speaker 1: So last year, this game goes into double overtime, correct?
- 53:43Speaker 1: Arizona's winning this game by about 10 points. And then
- 53:46Speaker 1: Bachmeier and what was it?
- 53:48Speaker 2: What was it?
- 53:49Speaker 3: Martin?
- 53:49Speaker 2: LJ Martin. LJ Martin. Rushing attack with LJ.
- 53:54Speaker 1: Martin and company. They ended up coming back. They went
- 53:57Speaker 1: into double overtime. Listen, BYU, their whole game plan is
- 54:03Speaker 1: establishing the run game. They've been very successful at it.
- 54:05Speaker 1: Bachmeier last year as a freshman did a great job
- 54:07Speaker 1: rocking the 47. That's up for interpretation whether you like
- 54:11Speaker 1: that or not. But Fafita, I love the storyline of
- 54:14Speaker 1: this kid Noah Fafita. He's a grown-ass man. Freshman year,
- 54:18Speaker 1: he's got TMAC. So that's a great outlet for you
- 54:21Speaker 1: to have. As a freshman, you know you have a
- 54:24Speaker 1: top 10 pick in the NFL draft at the wide
- 54:26Speaker 1: receiver position for you that you can just feed to
- 54:28Speaker 1: over and over again. Sophomore year hits, it's his first
- 54:30Speaker 1: year with Brennan, and you see his numbers go down
- 54:32Speaker 1: quite a bit. The success they had was on the
- 54:34Speaker 1: defensive side of the ball. Go into his junior year
- 54:37Speaker 1: and has, what, over 30 touchdowns and single digits and interceptions.
- 54:41Speaker 1: The kid has had growth, and because of that sophomore slump,
- 54:44Speaker 1: I love... where he's at now. He's got two receivers,
- 54:48Speaker 1: or he's lost three receivers. He's got two in Richardson
- 54:51Speaker 1: and Spivey that are both different. One little smaller, quicker guy.
- 54:56Speaker 1: And then Richardson, who's a little bit big. I think
- 54:58Speaker 1: Richardson's the smaller one. Spivey's the big one. Spivey, bigger guy,
- 55:02Speaker 1: can get those 50-50 balls. Everything they run in Arizona
- 55:06Speaker 1: is out of 11 personnel. It's RPO all the way
- 55:09Speaker 1: This game, I think, is going to come down to
- 55:12Speaker 1: who the defensive coordinator is at BYU, Papinga. It's his
- 55:15Speaker 1: first year as a DC. And if you remember before
- 55:20Speaker 1: Jay Hill got to BYU, a lot of fans, a
- 55:24Speaker 1: lot of boosters were kind of calling for Kalani Shataki's head,
- 55:26Speaker 1: saying they can't get it done, especially on the defensive
- 55:28Speaker 1: side of the ball. This is kind of Big 12 football.
- 55:30Speaker 1: Jay Hill comes in, their defense is top 20 in
- 55:33Speaker 1: college football, and kind of all that dust settles so
- 55:35Speaker 1: much so that Crumble Cookie comes in and saves him
- 55:37Speaker 1: from going to Penn State. I I like both these
- 55:40Speaker 1: teams scoring a lot of points. I like BYU's offensive
- 55:44Speaker 1: line and establishing the run. But on the other side
- 55:46Speaker 1: of it, I love Fafita and his ability to push
- 55:49Speaker 1: the ball down the field, make good decisions, and use
- 55:51Speaker 1: his legs when he needs to. So I'm going to
- 55:53Speaker 1: take the over in this game.
- 55:55Speaker 2: 49.5? Nope, that's Arizona. They're 47.5. You know what?
- 55:59Speaker 1: I'm not going to take the over. I'm going to
- 56:00Speaker 1: take Arizona plus 7.5. I'm going to take Arizona plus seven.
- 56:04Speaker 1: I think this game is a lot closer than people think.
- 56:06Speaker 1: I think Arizona's going to have the ability to score
- 56:08Speaker 1: a lot of points. They have a great safety in BYU.
- 56:11Speaker 1: But I like Arizona plus seven and a half.
- 56:13Speaker 2: I'll go three on that.
- 56:15Speaker 3: Oh, okay. You want to know where I'm at? I
- 56:19Speaker 3: would love. I woke up this morning and I thought,
- 56:22Speaker 3: what am I going to eat for breakfast? Where's Willie
- 56:25Speaker 3: on this Brigham Young game? Not in that order, Eddie.
- 56:28Speaker 3: Not even in that order.
- 56:30Speaker 2: Yeah, obviously BYU's rushing attack versus Arizona's front seven. I
- 56:33Speaker 2: do like what Arizona has defensively. And then it's going
- 56:36Speaker 2: to be Fafita against this BYU secondary. Them going into Provo,
- 56:40Speaker 2: here's where my pick comes in. Because what I'm doing
- 56:42Speaker 2: here is I'm going, I like this confidence of BYU
- 56:48Speaker 2: winning the game. I like the confidence of BYU covering,
- 56:50Speaker 2: but my confidence isn't all the way there. So I'm
- 56:52Speaker 2: going to go two unit confidence level, but I'm also
- 56:55Speaker 2: going to buy a point. I'm going BYU minus six
- 56:58Speaker 2: and a half because... BYU last year haunted my entire season.
- 57:03Speaker 2: I think I betted against them damn near every week
- 57:05Speaker 2: thinking that they wouldn't get it done. And they did.
- 57:07Speaker 2: They beat my ass last week. And Arizona hasn't won
- 57:10Speaker 2: in Provo since 1975. BYU has an eight-game home winning
- 57:14Speaker 2: streak against Arizona. So I like BYU here, but I
- 57:18Speaker 2: am going to buy a point, hedge a little bit,
- 57:19Speaker 2: and get that six and a half because I hate
- 57:21Speaker 2: the seven and a half. You see BYU winning by seven,
- 57:26Speaker 2: I'd be running through my TV. Yeah. So I'm going
- 57:28Speaker 2: to buy a point here and go minus six and
- 57:30Speaker 2: a half BYU.
- 57:31Speaker 3: Is that legal?
- 57:33Speaker 2: It's a unit. That is legal. You can put whatever
- 57:35Speaker 2: unit you want. It's my units.
- 57:37Speaker 3: You go from, you go. Yeah. So when I was
- 57:42Speaker 3: looking at it last night, it went from one 10.
- 57:43Speaker 2: And if you, if you buy a point to go
- 57:45Speaker 2: minus six and a half, it'll be for the viewers
- 57:47Speaker 2: out there. It'll be minus minus one 48. All right.
- 57:51Speaker 2: Cause it's a unit. We're going units. Just unlock something
- 57:55Speaker 2: for you, Josh.
- 57:57Speaker 1: This doesn't feel like a Josh move to do that.
- 58:01Speaker 2: It kind of unlocks something for him right there. Look
- 58:02Speaker 2: at his brain ticking.
- 58:04Speaker 3: Where you at? It is weird to see that point
- 58:06Speaker 3: spread that low, isn't it?
- 58:08Speaker 2: I don't think so.
- 58:10Speaker 3: What are you about to do?
- 58:13Speaker 2: Alt line?
- 58:14Speaker 3: No, I'm not going to do it. Actually, the thought
- 58:16Speaker 3: hadn't even entered my mind.
- 58:18Speaker 1: We're going to have this episode to bring you Jack Daniels.
- 58:21Speaker 1: Have you heard of Jack Daniels? But did you know
- 58:23Speaker 1: they have multiple flavors of Tennessee whiskey?
- 58:25Speaker 2: Jack Honey.
- 58:26Speaker 1: Jack by name, honey by nature. Bold like Jack, smooth
- 58:29Speaker 1: like honey. Authentically Jack and naturally smooth. A little bit
- 58:32Speaker 1: of honey, a whole lot of Jack.
- 58:33Speaker 2: Jack Apple is another one. Pick boldly.
- 58:37Speaker 1: Real crisp apples, real Jack Daniels, Jack to the core.
- 58:41Speaker 1: And then Jack Blackberry. The only Blackberry bursting with Jack.
- 58:45Speaker 2: Let's get back to this episode.
- 58:46Speaker 3: I was going to go Brigham Young. I was just
- 58:48Speaker 3: going to lay the points. I, man, the more I
- 58:53Speaker 3: think about it, I still think I'm going to go
- 58:56Speaker 3: Brigham Young and lay the points. So I'm going to
- 59:00Speaker 3: go minus seven and a half. I don't mind that.
- 59:02Speaker 3: And it may land on seven and I text you
- 59:04Speaker 3: and I just. Just simply should have bought a point.
- 59:07Speaker 3: Just one point.
- 59:08Speaker 2: You remember when Brigham Young went to Texas?
- 59:10Speaker 3: Tech last year? It was the biggest game in the
- 59:12Speaker 3: Big 12 all year. And there was a lot of
- 59:13Speaker 3: buildup and it ended up being Texas Tech kind of
- 59:16Speaker 3: pulling away in the game because over four quarters, BYU
- 59:20Speaker 3: couldn't stand up to it. But nobody in that league could.
- 59:24Speaker 3: I can't help but think this ends up being how
- 59:26Speaker 3: that game feels. And I feel like it's the kind
- 59:28Speaker 3: of game where Fafita thinks he's got to do a
- 59:29Speaker 3: little bit too much. And if he hits, great, they'll
- 59:33Speaker 3: win the game. It'll be an upset. But there's just
- 59:35Speaker 3: as much, if not a greater likelihood of he forces
- 59:39Speaker 3: too much and mistakes happen. And Brigham Young's great at
- 59:41Speaker 3: just sitting there waiting for you to do it. It's
- 59:43Speaker 3: like they say, well, you can't go through us. So
- 59:45Speaker 3: you're going to try and go over us or around us.
- 59:47Speaker 3: We don't think you can do that either. And we'll
- 59:49Speaker 3: be there to cash it in when you try too hard.
- 59:51Speaker 3: I just think that's more likely the game script here.
- 59:54Speaker 3: And there's so many commodities about Brigham Young that you know,
- 59:57Speaker 3: that you trust. Like you said, they've all been there
- 59:59Speaker 3: a long time. It's a good point about the D.C. churn,
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: and I can't know about that until I know. That's
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: why I'm not going to go under. But I do
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: think Brigham Young does enough here offensively, and I think
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: they force enough mistakes to where they actually win and cover.
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: It's two units for me, not a ton of confidence,
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: but I will lay the seven and a half bravely.
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: So get you a point. No, I want... So not
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: a tough.
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: Can I sway you at all in that the D.C.
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: Gonzalez for Arizona, their defense last year was number one
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: in opposing quarterback rating in the Big 12?
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: That is a good point.
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: Does that sway you even a little bit?
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: Because Gonzalez, like, what he's shown there is he knows
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: how to game plan against BYU. Like, BYU is the
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: better team. They have more talent. Fafita and then a
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: couple of wide receivers that may or may not be
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: great players. But it's... They're losing the D.C. You're replacing
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: Jack Kelly, who had 10 sacks last year. So you
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: need to find your pass rusher. You have a great safety.
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: You had a phenomenal freshman year. But it's like, who is,
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: I guess, who's going to take over that defense? Because
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: Jack Kelly was that guy. He was the heart and soul.
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: Now he's kind of, he's gone now. Yeah.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: And so that's where I kind of sit. I'm like,
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: seven and a half feels like too many points for me.
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: If it was at six and a half, I'd probably
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: lean the other way as well. But seven and a half, Arizona,
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: they seem to play them well. Veteran quarterback, a DC
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: that has played them well before, and a DC on
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: the other side of BYU who is an unproven guy
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: when that was the strength of their team last year.
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: Unproven, but also if I can give any pushback. And
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: remind me his last name. Papinga. Papinga, who's working the
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: phones and didn't really lose anybody in the transfer portal. Like,
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: you bring back six all-conference guys. You get a couple
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: transferred over. Like, kept the continuity together to where the
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: guys in the building must believe in the cat. Like, yes,
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: unproven on paper, it's his first year and everything else.
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: But to me, there's something to that continuity and that
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: culture that BYU has built to where I am still
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: bullish on them defensively because they got a good secondary, man.
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: I mean, they were top 15 in the country last year.
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: So I can't sway you?
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: I'm not swayed only because I think if you walk
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: into that kind of dynamic, it's not you bringing your
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: defense into Brigham Young that all of them need to learn.
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: Like they're all pretty much still there. It's probably, and
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: I don't know this, I'm not that close to that program,
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: but it's probably more You're coming here to run our defense.
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: It's probably the dynamic. That doesn't change my mind on
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: the idea that I think they'll force enough mistakes. I
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: think that's where some production comes. I think that's where
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: some plus field position comes, more so than just I
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: think their offense is going to go up and down
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: the field. Sounds like both of y'all are on a
- 1:02:36Speaker 3: Brigham Young seven-point win, by the way.
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: I'm right there. Yeah, I'm right there. My computer tells
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: me that it's right.
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: Where it's at.
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: My model.
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: I'm like 10 to 13 point. That's where I am.
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: Louis Locke's model has it at seven. And your boy,
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: they're going to play some smart football whether you wait
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: for him to make a mistake. Because again, you got
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: to check their birth certificate. You get a lot of
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: 30-year-olds playing for BYU.
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: A lot of 30-year-olds. A ton of them.
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: Guys my age out there. SEC versus Big Ten. Do
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: you have something before we go there? No, go ahead.
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: Here we go. SEC versus Big Ten. We got another
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: matchup taking place up in Minnesota. Mississippi travels up to Minnesota.
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: The line on this game is essentially a pick-em. Right now,
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: my card is reading just 0.5. It doesn't matter. This
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: is a Moneyline game. It's Minnesota favored or Mississippi State
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: favored by one and a half. The over-under on this
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: game is 55 and a half points. Yeah. Can I
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: just read you? These are players of note for Minnesota.
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: Drake Lindsey, your quarterback. Good player. Darius Taylor is their
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: running back. Everything kind of goes through them.
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: Javon Tracy, great returner and great wide receiver. He set
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: a record in the Big Ten just last week. On defense,
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: Anthony Smith, number zero.
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: And then Bush, T.J. Bush.
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: A transfer from Cal. Those are the notable players that
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: you need to watch out for in this game. This
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: is the one from Mississippi State, Kamario Taylor.
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: Oh, but he is the one. That he is him.
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: The kid is incredible.
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: I don't want to take your joke, so I won't,
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: but this guy is extremely accurate down the field. There
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: was multiple times that the offensive line broke. He's in
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: a pinch. All of a sudden, guys are dragging on
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: his legs. He gets away, still able to run the
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: ball down the field for 30, 40 yards or throw
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: a dime to somebody. He is one of the most
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: confident quarterbacks I've ever watched play college football.
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: This kid truly believes in himself.
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: And from a quarterback standpoint, the number one thing you
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: need is to have the confidence in yourself to deliver
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: the ball. Now they played UL Monroe, who's not a
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: great football team. Their offensive line didn't get a lot
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: of push. The defensive line on Mississippi State, I thought
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: Monroe did a great job of winning the line of
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: scrimmage in that situation. And Kamario Taylor, As talented as
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: he is throwing the ball down the field, there's a
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: couple he gets where he just back kind of loops out.
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: He throws it, puts a muffin at his feet, five-yard in,
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: feet are planted, everything looks good, and then all of
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: a sudden it's in the dirt or it's a little
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: bit wide. Ball gets tipped, but Monroe's defense, they just
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: can't figure out a.
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: Way to get the ball.
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: I think if you play against better talent, which they
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: are this week, he's going to give up the ball
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: a few times. I think Minnesota, as much as they
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: kind of lack the talent, in the Big Ten to
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: compete at a college football playoff national championship level, P.J.
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: Fleck always has those guys in the right spots at
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: all times. Drake Lindsey, when he's 6'4, 235, and he
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: can throw an absolute rope. Taylor in the backfield, the
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: whole game plan is how do we get him the
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: ball out of our opening plays? If we have 15
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: opening plays, we would love to get him the ball
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: 11 times. You saw in the first couple of drives
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: of the game, they want to establish the run. I
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: think their offensive line is pretty good. I know they're
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: somewhat inexperienced. But on the defensive side of the ball,
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: everyone is in the right space, right place at all times.
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: The defensive line can rush. They played East Illinois last week.
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: There's not a whole lot to go off of that,
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: except for there was one drive East Illinois had to
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: score a touchdown. Their success came from misdirection, where the
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: offensive line, the quarterback would go this way, the ball
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: would go out to the flat the other way, and
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: they would gain 15, 20 yards. That became East Illinois'
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: game plan. And after that drive, every time they tried
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: to try that after that, Minnesota was on top of
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: it in the right spot. So that tells me that
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: this team makes great on the sideline. They make changes
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: on the sideline quickly and efficiently. So I like Minnesota here.
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: I'll take the points. I mean, if you want to
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: give them to me, I'll take them. I'll take plus
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: one and a half, and I'll put four on this.
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: I like Minnesota.
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: Do you like Minnesota? You're very confident.
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: I feel really good about Minnesota in this game at home,
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: just outside of Dinkytown.
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: I got you. My confidence is low. I'm one unit
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: on this. SEC versus Big Ten. Penalized versus unpenalized. Electric
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: Factory versus a true pro. It's essentially Dallas Carter versus Permian,
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: if you really think about it. I like the under.
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: I like the under this week of 55.5. I'm only
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: going to place one unit on it because I'm just
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: not the most confident. I am obsessed with Kamario Taylor.
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: This dude can run like a deer. He's got a
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: piss missile for an arm. If every play was designed
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: over 20 yards, he's hitting it. Because you get him
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: out of the backfield or you get him underneath, he's
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: still got that piss missile of an arm going at
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: it towards like, hey, buddy, you can dial it in.
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: Just hit my man in the flat. But my confidence
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: here is out of one. Both offenses put up a
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: lot of points last week. And the freak that Kamario
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: Taylor is, I can see everybody salivating on the over.
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: I'm just going to go under because I think they're
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: going to play. They're going against a good football team.
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: I don't know who's going to win clearly, but Minnesota's
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: a lot more efficient offensively. They're a lot more fundamentally
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: sound defensively. I think they're going to slow the game
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: down a little bit. And again, if you have a
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: couple turnovers to where it's just Camario kind of running
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: around and making plays happen, I just see this being
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: not a low-scoring game, like getting up close to that
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: 55-and-a-half mark, but I like the under. I like the
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: under this week. One unit, one simple, one simple unit,
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: tiny little unit.
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: Just a little teeny unit.
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: Just a little teeny tiny unit.
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: I know a guy who roots for Mississippi state. He's
- 1:08:01Speaker 3: in sports media, college football media. And I told him
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: Monday at 8 22 AM. If you're smart, you'll brand
- 1:08:08Speaker 3: this week as Camario Taylor versus the big 10. And
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: he said, he texted me back something doubtful. I don't
- 1:08:16Speaker 3: want to use his exact words. And I said, you're
- 1:08:18Speaker 3: going to win this week. And he said, I've been
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: a fan of this team for a long time. And
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: I said, yeah, but they put me in their hype video.
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: He didn't respond back. Not important. It's my most confident
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: game on the board all week. I'm going to slap
- 1:08:40Speaker 3: the table on it. Mississippi State will go up there
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: and they'll win by a touchdown or more.
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: Yeah, feel really good about it.
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: Feel really good about it.
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: I think they'll come out of this week massively overhyped,
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: but that's something that we can deal with in week three.
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: Right, we'll temper those expectations after.
- 1:08:52Speaker 3: What time is this kickoff? Do you know, Klump?
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: 2.30 since. Okay.
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: So you're taking.
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: Them plus one and a half?
- 1:08:59Speaker 3: I sure am. No, minus one and a half.
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: Minus one and a half.
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: Beautiful.
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: All of us are just in different spots right now.
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: You feel that?
- 1:09:06Speaker 3: I mean, you're... Everything you said about Kamario Taylor, I
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: actually believe about him. I agree, dude.
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: You think he's going to beat all 11 out there
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: on the field.
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I think he'll be the best player on the
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: field Saturday. I'm not talking about from NFL draft. I'm
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: not talking about all that. I'm saying the play that
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: he has Saturday, I think it'll grab a lot of eyeballs.
- 1:09:24Speaker 3: I'm talking about casuals. We watch him. We've already known
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: about him. And I think maybe some people have heard
- 1:09:29Speaker 3: his name, but they haven't watched him.
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: They definitely started to this week because that viral clip
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: of him essentially being flat-footed. Shoulder squared, roping at 60
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: yards downfield.
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: They set a school record by over 100 yards of
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: what the previous record was of total offense.
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: Yeah. And what is he, 6'4, 230? Yeah, the kid
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: is fucking fast, bro. Yes, I agree.
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: The only thing I have hesitation in is the short
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: yard throws that are just total gimmies that he just
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: kind of puts in the dirt every once in a
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: while from an accuracy standpoint.
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: Like the overconfidence sometimes.
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: First play of the game, they roll out, he tries
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: to throw a vert, and there is an underneath route
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: about 20, 25 yards that is wide open that'll be
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: massively explosive, and he doesn't take it because he wants.
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: He wants what we're talking about. It's how athletic he is,
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: how he's not afraid of anything. He can throw a
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: rope from a flat footed, all the things. And he
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: can do all those things. I'm banking on Minnesota slowing
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: this game down, about the defensive line having a good
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: pass rush.
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: Just playing a smart football team.
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: Just a smart, gritty, salty football team.
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: Like, slow it down.
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: You're going over a high-tempo offense versus an offense that
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: wants to control the clock. They want to sit there.
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: And you're playing up in Minnesota. They're going to lean
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: on you. I'm just not strong on their defensive line
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: at Mississippi State. They didn't feel to me like they were...
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: really answering the physicality of UL Monroe.
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: Yeah. And to your point too, people who are tuned
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: in that could be casuals, you started to hear Camario
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: Taylor's name, buy the stock in Camario Taylor, but also
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: can't quit buying the stock in the Fleck Bank because
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: they're going up to Minnesota. You got old PJ Fleck
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: up there. They're not going to make a mistake.
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: Not a single one. That's why Minnesota's in the playoffs
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: every year.
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: They can get beat, but they're going to be in
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: the right spot while they can beat.
- 1:11:16Speaker 3: I'm hearing 70 degrees and sunny.
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: Yeah. Great day for some ball.
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: But yet, if Mississippi State wins this game, check back
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: with me in December, and I will fully count this
- 1:11:26Speaker 3: as a Southern team winning a game up North in
- 1:11:29Speaker 3: Northern conditions. Because no one will even remember by that point.
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: That's the SEC painting I love. They went up to Minnesota.
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: They went all the way up there.
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: All the way.
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: Yeah, they didn't even beat St.
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: Louis.
- 1:11:40Speaker 3: I feel good about this game. This is a five
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: for me. I'm 1-0 on the season on five-unit bats.
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: I'm undefeated.
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: Yeah, you are.
- 1:11:47Speaker 3: Ah, you son of a bitch. You are too, boy. God.
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: As we've won. You're never as good as you are.
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: You're never as bad as you think you are. We
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: had the entire floor around that Baylor-Auburn game. Yeah, that was.
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: A big portion of the floor sitting around that Baylor-Auburn,
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: that two-point conversion. And just, man, when it was, what
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: was it, fourth and 10, fourth, 11, 12? You're talking
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: too loud about the game. Can I be honest too? Yes,
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: of course. It was fourth and long and DJ Lagway.
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: I'm like, okay, this is where we're going to hit here.
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: And DJ Lagway made it happen. But then he DJ
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: Lagwayed on that emotion.
- 1:12:24Speaker 3: DJ Lagwayed on that last play.
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: Can I tell you something? It's even more important than
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: Josh with these five units is he has successfully gotten
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: us off the scent of he bought stock in DJ
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: Lagway again this year. He said, hey, I wasn't wrong.
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: I was just early. And he had three turnovers, two turnovers.
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: He was crippled. He was crippled.
- 1:12:45Speaker 3: He was dragging around a peg leg.
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: Yeah, but then it started going well and then he
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: started looking good.
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: DJ Lagway should have gone to the hospital at halftime. Instead,
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: he went to that locker.
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: Room and he did his best. He made it, for
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: damn sure, made it seem like that.
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: If that ball was just here instead of here, they'd
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: win that game.
- 1:13:01Speaker 3: Pray for Prairie View this week. DJ's not done.
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: I'm not done. Oh, Josh. I'm not going to say....
- 1:13:11Speaker 3: Are you serious?
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: It's crazy we're over an hour into the show and
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: you're just now realizing Sherm's not here.
- 1:13:17Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: What is your friendship really?
- 1:13:18Speaker 3: What did you say about foxholes and week two and
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: all that stuff?
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: I'm with you, dude. I'm alone in my foxhole. Actually,
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: I got clumped.
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: I got clumped in my foxhole, which is the worst
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: guy to have in your foxhole.
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: I love him.
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: I think he's great. He is the worst person to
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: have in your foxhole with you.
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: I'll tell you what, he makes you feel confident.
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: The Michigan game has turned him so much that he's
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: gone back to being a troll on the internet.
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: Or he's just saying, the most outlandish shit. I'm sitting
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: there rocking my baby, and I'm just like, bro, we
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: got to.
- 1:13:46Speaker 3: What are we doing?
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: We can't be doing this.
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: What are we doing?
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: Yeah. Your name's attached to mine. All right, Josh, we're
- 1:13:52Speaker 2: on the show, so I'm not going to say how
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: are your crimson tie going to do in Kentucky. But
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: right now, Bama favored, double digits on the road, minus
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: 10.5 at Kentucky. The over-under on this game is 49.5. Oh.
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: We have some paper popper stats, and hopefully it's about
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: Alabama performing on the road under DeBoer.
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: It is how they perform on the road under Kalen DeBoer.
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: Kalen DeBoer is a ranked favorite on the road. Seven
- 1:14:16Speaker 3: and five, straight up. Four and eight against the spread.
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: This is Delaney Walker stats.
- 1:14:23Speaker 3: He's catching Kentucky in week two. So even if Kentucky
- 1:14:26Speaker 3: is going to be bad this year, they don't know that.
- 1:14:28Speaker 3: They're healthy. They're at home. It's really the first. It's
- 1:14:33Speaker 3: kind of like the premiere. Last week was the dress
- 1:14:35Speaker 3: rehearsal against the Penguins of Youngstown State. This is the
- 1:14:39Speaker 3: season debut to the world of Will Stein as a
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: head coach. So you got two new quarterbacks in this game.
- 1:14:48Speaker 3: Keelan Russell's making his first meaningful start. So is Kenny Menchie.
- 1:14:52Speaker 3: I'm looking forward to seeing how Menchie performs. Keelan Russell
- 1:14:54Speaker 3: wants all things break down for him. He can bail
- 1:14:58Speaker 3: himself out with his legs. I don't think that's Kenny
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: Menchie's game per se. Bama last week, it was a
- 1:15:04Speaker 3: big final score against East Carolina.
- 1:15:07Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: Looks good. The box score looks good. If you watch
- 1:15:11Speaker 3: the game, which I did in your hotel room, without
- 1:15:14Speaker 3: you there, and I appreciate that.
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: Yes, sir.
- 1:15:17Speaker 3: No context needed. Absolutely no context needed. Operationally, it was unsound,
- 1:15:22Speaker 3: which is not the first time you've said that about
- 1:15:24Speaker 3: a team with a first-time starter at quarterback. But there
- 1:15:27Speaker 3: was a lot of stuff that you don't have to
- 1:15:28Speaker 3: pay the price for last week, that if you duplicate
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: it on the road against Kentucky, you would have to
- 1:15:34Speaker 3: pay the price for, like Ryan Williams dropping balls. No
- 1:15:37Speaker 3: one cares because you won the game and he still
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: had over 100. But you do that this week, you
- 1:15:41Speaker 3: probably do pay for it. I do think that defensively,
- 1:15:47Speaker 3: you had to love what you saw from Bama last week.
- 1:15:50Speaker 3: And that was really more so than the quarterback position,
- 1:15:52Speaker 3: what I was watching all throughout fall camp and to
- 1:15:54Speaker 3: start the year. Because that was the area last year
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: you could get them a little bit, especially short yardage.
- 1:15:59Speaker 3: They were like 15th of 16 in terms of total size.
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: I think I said that last week up front. So
- 1:16:04Speaker 3: they've greatly upgraded there. They're much deeper personnel wise there
- 1:16:08Speaker 3: right now. So when they go on the road this week,
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: everyone will, similarly to what we talked about with other teams,
- 1:16:14Speaker 3: they'll be watching the quarterback position. To me, I'm just
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: as much watching EJ Crowell at tailback, who's probably their best,
- 1:16:21Speaker 3: even though he's a true freshman. I'm really watching that
- 1:16:24Speaker 3: offensive line have to go on the road for the
- 1:16:25Speaker 3: first time. That's still very much a work in progress.
- 1:16:28Speaker 3: I'm watching Keelan Russell. Some of his escapability in some
- 1:16:32Speaker 3: plays that broke down last week against inferior athletes. Is
- 1:16:36Speaker 3: he still upright against a legitimate SEC team on the road?
- 1:16:41Speaker 3: Remains to be seen. I do think if the Kentucky
- 1:16:45Speaker 3: run game is not there. I don't know that they
- 1:16:48Speaker 3: have the skill at wide receiver against Bama secondary to
- 1:16:51Speaker 3: really take advantage. I don't think they have game changers
- 1:16:53Speaker 3: at wide receiver. I think Alabama does have that ability.
- 1:16:57Speaker 3: I have not gotten to where I can trust them
- 1:17:00Speaker 3: on the road under DeBoer in this spot though. So
- 1:17:04Speaker 3: as far as the spread goes, I'm taking Kentucky plus
- 1:17:07Speaker 3: 10 and a half. It is a one unit bet
- 1:17:10Speaker 3: for me. Another low confidence game. I think the number
- 1:17:13Speaker 3: is almost dead on the money, right? So I think
- 1:17:15Speaker 3: It's like Tennessee. I think Tennessee will win on the road,
- 1:17:17Speaker 3: but not cover. I think Bama will win on the road,
- 1:17:19Speaker 3: but not cover.
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: So you're really betting one game this week.
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: You got one game that you feel the most confident about,
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: and that's Mississippi State.
- 1:17:25Speaker 3: My entire life is in the hands of Kamario Taylor.
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: Yeah. It was DJ Lagway. Kamario Taylor, this is a
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: reputation game.
- 1:17:32Speaker 3: Sure was.
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: It was a DJ Lagway.
- 1:17:33Speaker 3: Sure was.
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: Kamario Taylor is a reputation game for you.
- 1:17:36Speaker 3: DJ came through for me.
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, he did.
- 1:17:40Speaker 3: You know, there was a rumor floating around that I
- 1:17:41Speaker 3: took Baylor outright, which, as we all know, is complete nonsense.
- 1:17:44Speaker 3: And I don't know who propagated it.
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: You had your opportunity to speak on it.
- 1:17:47Speaker 3: On live TV. I don't know who spread the rumor.
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: Didn't shun it. Almost could have been a hero.
- 1:17:53Speaker 3: We're in the entertainment business.
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: No doubt.
- 1:17:55Speaker 3: And it was a lie, but it was an entertaining lie.
- 1:17:56Speaker 3: So I let it ride. Okay.
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: And I literally told you before commercial break, I was like, hey,
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: I'm going to serve it up like this.
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: Come on in. Yeah. And I thought to myself, surely
- 1:18:04Speaker 2: he's not going anywhere.
- 1:18:05Speaker 3: No, what happened is you told me during the break,
- 1:18:07Speaker 3: but the people were talking in my ear. And so
- 1:18:09Speaker 3: all I saw was, I had no idea it was coming,
- 1:18:13Speaker 3: but I am taking Kentucky plus the points.
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: One unit. I got a paper popper set. Go ahead.
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: I hate this line. Oh, wow. That's my paper. Does
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: it sit on the paper right there? Yeah.
- 1:18:26Speaker 3: That is great.
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: At the very top.
- 1:18:27Speaker 3: Hate this line.
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: Yeah, it does. I did enjoy seeing Alabama try to
- 1:18:31Speaker 2: run the football. I feel like it was more by
- 1:18:34Speaker 2: design from old coach Grubb. They did not do a
- 1:18:36Speaker 2: very good job of it. Again, I almost said Kamario Taylor.
- 1:18:41Speaker 2: But Russell, Keelan Russell, having over 80 yards on the ground,
- 1:18:44Speaker 2: then you want to go back and look at the tape.
- 1:18:46Speaker 2: And it's all scramble drill. The dude is a freak
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: athlete as well. Similar to... the Kamario Taylor, Faison Brandon. Yeah,
- 1:18:54Speaker 2: I don't like this line. I'm just going to tail
- 1:18:56Speaker 2: Josh with one unit, and that's strictly just for the camera,
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: just going to tail Josh Pate with one unit. Part
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: of me wanted to go over in this game, but Yeah,
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: I like Minchie and Stein.
- 1:19:06Speaker 3: I like that pairing.
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: I will go on record and say I like Minchie.
- 1:19:10Speaker 3: Wow. That's on the record.
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: But against the secondary, against O'Hubbard in the secondary... If
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: they show up, if Alabama's not able to run the
- 1:19:17Speaker 2: football that well, that's clearly an under vibe for me.
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: I like both offenses being able to move the ball.
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: That would be an over. Again, I hate everything about
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: this line. I'm leaning on DeBoer and Bama traveling on
- 1:19:29Speaker 2: the road as a double-digit favorite. And the stat, four
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: and eight, you know, against the spread. I'm just going
- 1:19:36Speaker 2: to go ahead and take Kentucky. One unit plus ten
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: and a half.
- 1:19:39Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: And also, it's like, to your point, Kentucky's kind of
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: juiced right now just internally with momentum that they could
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: have going because they don't know if they're bad or not.
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: They don't know if they're good or not. You know,
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: they got this breath of fresh air with Coach Will
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: Stein who does have the confidence in the media, who's
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: got those guys believing, who we've been to. We've been
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: to the program out at Oregon when he's there where
- 1:20:01Speaker 2: he's got everybody kind of dialed in and talking ball
- 1:20:04Speaker 2: with him to where they're all going to know what
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: to do. They're going to know how to win this game.
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: It is going to be against a great secondary against Bama.
- 1:20:12Speaker 2: So I'm just going to go Kentucky plus 10 and
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: a half, one unit. Yeah, I think that's great. I
- 1:20:17Speaker 2: like Stein.
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: I think he's an incredible, was an incredible offensive coordinator
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: at Oregon. He's had multiple quarterbacks that are in the
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: NFL or going to the NFL. I think the thing
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: he does incredibly well is having his quarterback see the
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: entire field and make very good decisions and don't put
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: themselves in positions to give up the football. He does
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: a great job of painting a picture. These are how
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: these defenses look, but you have a great secondary in Alabama.
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: They came in, and you know the head coach is
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: an offensive guy, and you can see it the way
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: they spent their money in the transfer portal. They juiced
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: their offensive line. They tried to get a bunch of weapons.
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: Some guys that had great first years get hurt and
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: then come in, but still you've seen a little bit
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: on film of like, oh, this guy had 800 yards receiving.
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: This guy is a five-star. This freshman is pretty good.
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: I love the balance of Kentucky from a run and
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: pass standpoint. I can see the secondary being an issue,
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: but I think they'll make up for that in the
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: run game. But I also love Keelan Russell and his
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: ability to scramble. I don't think the run game, I'll
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: be proven wrong if they ever do, that the run
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: game's gotten better because it really is all scramble drill
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: and an elite athlete getting away from inferior opponents. Ryan Williams,
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: other than that, who else is going to show up
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: when your number one wide receiver does have this yep
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: type of issue? The big news coming out of Tuscaloosa
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: this week is that he's not going to be wearing
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: gloves during the game, and that's going to fix everything.
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: The offensive line for Alabama.
- 1:21:45Speaker 2: Does make me worried.
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: I think they have a freshman at left tackle, two
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: sophomores that have little to no starting experience, and then
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: their center.
- 1:21:56Speaker 2: Is a transfer from Cal Poly.
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: So they have not a lot of continuity, not a
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: lot of guys that have experience in SEC games, and
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: I think they could work against them. But as much
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: as it'll work against them, Keelan Russell's athletic ability will
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: keep the chains moving. I like the over in this game.
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: I like both teams scoring a lot of points. It's
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: 49 and a half right now. I'm going to put
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: three units on it. But I'm excited about Will Stein
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: in Kentucky. If I had to pick one, I think
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: Alabama walks away with this win. and we just still
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: have question marks on both sides. Like, can Alabama still
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: run the ball? Is Kentucky good? Are they kind of
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: middle of the pack? What are they going to be?
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: I don't think any questions truly get answered at the
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: end of this game, but I think it'll be exciting
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: for a lot of fans to watch. So I like
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: the over.
- 1:22:40Speaker 3: I could get with that.
- 1:22:42Speaker 2: I like that. I had it on there, but I'm
- 1:22:44Speaker 2: just like, you know what? I don't have the best feel.
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: Minchie, dude, I think Minchie's kind of nice.
- 1:22:50Speaker 2: And if he is, that's plus 10.5. He'll be there. Yeah.
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: It'll be there for us. One unit sitting right there
- 1:22:56Speaker 2: for the taking. Yeah, absolutely. We got gravely game of
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: the week. Yep. Gravely game of the week. Texas, Ohio State.
- 1:23:06Speaker 2: Ohio State traveling to Austin. I said it last week
- 1:23:09Speaker 2: on the show, Steve Sarkeesian, you zoom out and look
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: at this entire season. He could be somebody potentially entering
- 1:23:15Speaker 2: the A-gap. This is a Huge game. And we are
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: blessed to get to see a game like this still
- 1:23:20Speaker 2: during this era of college football with Ohio State going
- 1:23:23Speaker 2: down to Austin, Texas. Because in a lot of pockets
- 1:23:27Speaker 2: of college football, these are both the best of the
- 1:23:29Speaker 2: best in each conference, especially talent wise. You still have
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: the question mark, like what's Ohio State's offensive line going
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: to be? But this is a huge game that had
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: implications last year that Stark is up on the in
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: front of the press saying that you take this game
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: out of it. or we come out on top of
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: this game, that decided the playoff spot for Texas.
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: And to mention the fact that they win the box
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: score against Ohio State last year in week one, but
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: they just didn't win the actual game. I think they
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: had over 100 more total yards on offense.
- 1:23:58Speaker 2: This game, I think, is perfect.
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: The line is perfect where it's like you go with
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: your heart, you go with your belief because both teams
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: are extremely talented, and all the question marks that you
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: may have had about them seems like they've answered.
- 1:24:10Speaker 2: We talked about Texas.
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: Their biggest issue last year was running the football. Last year,
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: they had 12 rushes for over 20 yards in the
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: totality of the season as a team. And Hollywood Smothers
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: did that by himself last year. So they've answered that.
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: They got Relique Brown, who also rushed for 1,000 yards.
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: They brought in a tackle from Wake Forest, a lot
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: of different transfer guys in the middle, and then they
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: have Goosby at the left tackle position. You turn on
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: the film in week one, it's against nobodies, but the
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: offensive line looks like they're moving as a cohesive unit
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: as opposed to five guys working individually, which is a
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: good sign when you're worried about the run game. Three
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: wide receivers that could be wide receiver ones anywhere else.
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: Arch Manning, after the third quarter of Mississippi State, has.
- 1:24:54Speaker 2: Turned into the Manning we believe he could be.
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: But then you flip to the other side and it's like, oh,
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: Ohio State has a bunch of draft picks on the
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: defensive side of the ball.
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: What's going to happen there?
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: Well, Matt Patricia has already proven to us that he
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: can do that because he had the number one defense
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: in the country last year. And Arvel Reese, we didn't
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: even know what that name was at this point in
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: the season. Julian Sane, the biggest knock on him is
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: that when pressure starts to come, he doesn't do a
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: good job with the football. Well, we saw one play
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: last week where he's getting hit as he's throwing a
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: deep double move to Jeremiah Smith. And that ball is
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: placed perfectly. So you look at everything and it's like, yeah.
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: Both these teams seem to have answered their questions. Where
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: I lean is, I lean the A-gap. I lean with
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: Sark and Muschamp, knowing that his specialty is getting quarterbacks uncomfortable,
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: which would work in favor against what the knock has
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: been on Julian Satan, even though he's beefed up a
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: little bit. I like Texas at minus one and a
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: half here.
- 1:25:49Speaker 2: It's at home.
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: They have to travel. I think both teams could walk
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: out of here with a win. Clearly, the line says
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: the same thing, but at the end of the day,
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: it's like, I'm just going to go with the home team.
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: I think Arch has a get-back game here, and they cover.
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: I'll put three units on that.
- 1:26:05Speaker 2: You have a good feel?
- 1:26:06Speaker 3: Not really. I'm going to go two units on Texas
- 1:26:08Speaker 3: minus the points. But do you feel like we're kind
- 1:26:10Speaker 3: of trying to will Texas into one of these big
- 1:26:13Speaker 3: wins finally?
- 1:26:13Speaker 2: Yeah. Absolutely. I could see that. But it's like.
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: I mean, we talked about the wounded animal theory in
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: the beginning of the show, like Sark is every bit
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: of that. He just might not know it yet. Like
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: when you see a deer get hit and they kind
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: of run off, like they know something bad happened, but
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: they don't know how bad the damage actually is. This
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: is one of those games Sark has to win if
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: this agap is going to kind of start to get
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: a little bit more quiet because you talked about the
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: egos of texas the cowboy hats the pageantry you know
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: bevo like this school has is a blue chip school
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: that demands national championships and he has the roster they
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: have the boosters money in it so i think in
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: a lot of ways yes because on the other side
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: you look at ohio state it's like oh they've won
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: a national championship the biggest knock on them is they
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: haven't won a big 10 championship in a few years
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: but they still are playing for national championship. They're in
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: semifinals every single year. Like Ryan Day is sitting pretty
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: on his side of the fence. And it's like, we're
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: kind of looking at Sark like, bro, we're rooting for
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: you here. We kind of need you to get this done.
- 1:27:10Speaker 3: That's how I feel.
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: In order for the SEC to have serious relevance. And
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: if the SEC does win this game, it's like after
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: week one, everyone's going to overreact. But we would also say,
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: Ohio State's now your clear number one based on what's
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: taking place in week one.
- 1:27:26Speaker 3: So I agree with everything you just said. I still
- 1:27:30Speaker 3: think it's out there for Sark. Like I keep waiting
- 1:27:32Speaker 3: for it. I do think last week, granted it's, they
- 1:27:37Speaker 3: didn't run Arch at all last week. His mobility will
- 1:27:40Speaker 3: be part of their game plan this week. They had,
- 1:27:42Speaker 3: maybe this is a paper popper. I don't know. They
- 1:27:44Speaker 3: had a tackle at or behind the line of scrimmage
- 1:27:47Speaker 3: 11 times per Tyler Horka. That's Texas's offense. Getting met
- 1:27:52Speaker 3: at or behind the line of scrimmage. could be an aberration,
- 1:27:55Speaker 3: could be something that pops up early against Ohio State
- 1:27:58Speaker 3: and they look like they're in quicksand and they can't
- 1:28:00Speaker 3: get started at all. So I'm keeping an eye on that.
- 1:28:03Speaker 3: I really think both defenses have a net advantage against
- 1:28:08Speaker 3: these offensive lines until proven otherwise, which just leads me
- 1:28:12Speaker 3: to think, is this the kind of game where things
- 1:28:14Speaker 3: look kind of discombobulated? There's not a whole lot of
- 1:28:17Speaker 3: rhythm and boom, Jeremiah Smith for 70. or boom, Ryan Wingo,
- 1:28:21Speaker 3: Cam Coleman for 65. Because it doesn't feel like the
- 1:28:24Speaker 3: kind of game where either offense is just consistently moving
- 1:28:27Speaker 3: the ball. It feels like pick your spots, take your
- 1:28:31Speaker 3: shot kind of game. And I also think back to
- 1:28:33Speaker 3: the last couple of years, like I can picture Ohio
- 1:28:36Speaker 3: State watching what Georgia has been able to do to Texas.
- 1:28:40Speaker 3: the last three times they played them and saying, we
- 1:28:42Speaker 3: can do that. Not to mention we did it to
- 1:28:44Speaker 3: them last year in Columbus. But I also picture Texas
- 1:28:47Speaker 3: watching what Miami is did to Ohio State in the
- 1:28:51Speaker 3: playoffs and saying, wait a minute, we got Colin Simmons here.
- 1:28:54Speaker 3: So we could get after them. Plus, we're going to
- 1:28:56Speaker 3: have home crowd advantage at our back. So we could
- 1:28:59Speaker 3: disrupt every bit as much. If there's any doubt about
- 1:29:01Speaker 3: Julian's saying and how he handles pressure, we can put
- 1:29:04Speaker 3: it on him. And so I think it's just like
- 1:29:06Speaker 3: it's irresistible for us. It's a movable object, at least
- 1:29:09Speaker 3: in your mind it is, if you're either one of
- 1:29:11Speaker 3: these teams. To me, it's as simple as if I
- 1:29:13Speaker 3: think all things else are pretty evenly matched, I'll just
- 1:29:16Speaker 3: ride home field. And so I'll go Texas minus one
- 1:29:19Speaker 3: and a half. It's two units for me. Can't wait
- 1:29:22Speaker 3: to watch it.
- 1:29:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel the same way.
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: I think at the end of the day, both these
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: teams are very equal and look great against each other
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: on paper. And that's where home field is the thing
- 1:29:32Speaker 1: that just moves me to the side of Texas.
- 1:29:34Speaker 3: I think Texas needs to win it. Ohio State would
- 1:29:36Speaker 3: love to win this thing. I think Texas needs to
- 1:29:38Speaker 3: win this game.
- 1:29:39Speaker 2: I think they feel that expectation going into it. All
- 1:29:41Speaker 2: of the Pressure even coming off the loss last year,
- 1:29:44Speaker 2: being a three-loss team, trying to argue your way into
- 1:29:47Speaker 2: the playoffs, the potential A-gap that Sark could be going in.
- 1:29:50Speaker 2: Everybody in Texas is going to feel this moment this Saturday,
- 1:29:53Speaker 2: and I think they're ready for the moment come Saturday.
- 1:29:55Speaker 2: Where I'm kicking myself and kicking us three is I'm aligned. Oh, no.
- 1:30:01Speaker 2: On Texas. You need to go Ohio State. Oh, no.
- 1:30:04Speaker 2: I can't do it. Matter of fact, I have a text.
- 1:30:05Speaker 2: I'm not going to say if it was from Arthur
- 1:30:06Speaker 2: Smith or not. But if you, Taylor, he says, and Delaney,
- 1:30:10Speaker 2: but I guess he doesn't. watch the show. But if you,
- 1:30:13Speaker 2: Taylor and Delaney pick Texas on your show, you will
- 1:30:15Speaker 2: all be known as Judas to me. And dude, yesterday,
- 1:30:20Speaker 2: this is one of those games too, where I wake
- 1:30:21Speaker 2: up each morning and I'm kind of different on this
- 1:30:24Speaker 2: game where yesterday I felt like I felt confident about
- 1:30:27Speaker 2: Ohio state today. I'm where I'm kicking myself is that
- 1:30:32Speaker 2: this is a game where you pick Ohio state because
- 1:30:34Speaker 2: it's like, until it happens with Texas, you have to
- 1:30:37Speaker 2: show me that this is going to happen at Texas.
- 1:30:40Speaker 2: Whereas we're all three rooting for this to happen this
- 1:30:43Speaker 2: weekend in Texas.
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: Yeah, but why are we, the better question is why
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: are you two rooting for it to happen? Because clearly
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: people are going to be like, oh, Taylor went to Michigan.
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: He wants us to fail. It's like, well, they are
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: my Big Ten champion. But that's honestly not how I
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: feel in this situation because I do love Art, whether
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: that was him or not. But also, you shouldn't say
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: whether it was or not. And if you want to
- 1:31:04Speaker 1: talk about Judas, like he became that the minute he
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: decided to sign on with Ohio State to me.
- 1:31:08Speaker 2: That's a great point. Yeah. You talk about stabbing one
- 1:31:11Speaker 2: of your boys in the back.
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: You talk about burning bridges. Like he called us friends
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: at one point. And so I pick a different team.
- 1:31:16Speaker 2: That's crazy. Quick break from the episode. Quick break from
- 1:31:19Speaker 2: the conversation. Again, make sure you are subscribed to this channel.
- 1:31:22Speaker 2: Make sure you're dropping comments throughout the episode. But we
- 1:31:24Speaker 2: are brought to you by Neutral. Neutral tastes great. Tastes
- 1:31:26Speaker 2: so much better than anything else that is out there.
- 1:31:28Speaker 2: It's made with real vodka and real juice. That's what
- 1:31:30Speaker 2: makes it delicious. Pineapple, watermelon. They also have new flavors,
- 1:31:34Speaker 2: lime and strawberry. Perfect for social occasions because it's such
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: a crowd pleaser, especially during football season. Think on the
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: beach with friends, at an outdoor bar, on the lake,
- 1:31:43Speaker 2: or even at your boy's birthday party. It's the perfect
- 1:31:46Speaker 2: time of year to grab a 12-pack of Neutral for
- 1:31:48Speaker 2: the beach or grab a bucket deal in your favorite
- 1:31:50Speaker 2: bar to celebrate football season. Neutral, keep it tasty. Let's
- 1:31:55Speaker 2: get back to this episode. But go on, sorry. I
- 1:31:58Speaker 2: was going to say we're blessed now because we're a
- 1:32:01Speaker 2: year's worth of experience for both Julian Sane and Arch Manning.
- 1:32:04Speaker 2: Like we got them in the opener last week. Very young,
- 1:32:06Speaker 2: very green. Went against good defenses. It was a defensive battle.
- 1:32:09Speaker 2: My favorite part about this game is the Matt Patricia aspect,
- 1:32:13Speaker 2: is the Will Muschamp aspect. So where I'm coming out
- 1:32:16Speaker 2: on leaning Texas and like, yeah, I guess you could
- 1:32:19Speaker 2: say rooting for Texas. is I think both coordinators, there's
- 1:32:21Speaker 2: going to be a moment to where one of them
- 1:32:23Speaker 2: has something dialed up in the second half. And a
- 1:32:25Speaker 2: turnover takes place to where the quarterback, their quarterback is
- 1:32:28Speaker 2: in position to go out and win the game. And
- 1:32:30Speaker 2: I just think that moment this year belongs to Arch Manning.
- 1:32:33Speaker 2: So for that reason, that's why I like Texas minus
- 1:32:35Speaker 2: one and a half at home. I just think Arch Manning,
- 1:32:37Speaker 2: he is ready for this moment, especially when you look
- 1:32:39Speaker 2: at how he finished last year. Just all of the
- 1:32:43Speaker 2: noise that's been around this kid. I like Julian saying, too,
- 1:32:45Speaker 2: I just think Texas is going to get a turnover.
- 1:32:47Speaker 2: They're going to be in enemy territory. It's going to
- 1:32:50Speaker 2: be up to Arch Manning to go and win that game,
- 1:32:52Speaker 2: whether it's the last series or a couple before, and
- 1:32:55Speaker 2: then the defense bows up and Ohio State isn't able
- 1:32:57Speaker 2: to figure it out at the end. I just think
- 1:32:59Speaker 2: the moment is for Arch Manning, and I'm going Arch
- 1:33:01Speaker 2: Manning in the moment on Saturday. So that's where I'm
- 1:33:03Speaker 2: on the one and a half.
- 1:33:04Speaker 3: 7.30 Eastern.
- 1:33:06Speaker 2: Prime time. All right, birthday party will be over. Good. Yeah, listen,
- 1:33:11Speaker 2: we got Michigan, Oklahoma at 11. Like, after that game,
- 1:33:15Speaker 2: we got a birthday party to be up for.
- 1:33:17Speaker 3: So you're not going to watch Camario Taylor up in Minneapolis?
- 1:33:20Speaker 2: It'll be on the game. It'll be on the TV.
- 1:33:23Speaker 2: You'll be aware. Yeah. We'll be, I'll be sitting there. Oh, that's,
- 1:33:26Speaker 2: that's great, sweetie. Oh, that's awesome. Yeah. Oh, look at
- 1:33:29Speaker 2: that Pokemon.
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: And then she'll walk away and be like, so what is,
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: what is Kamario Taylor? What's Minnesota?
- 1:33:34Speaker 2: Depending on the result of this Michigan, Oklahoma game, there's
- 1:33:36Speaker 2: a couple of different situations.
- 1:33:37Speaker 3: Yep.
- 1:33:38Speaker 2: Tell them. There's one where I am just alone, finding
- 1:33:41Speaker 2: a TV to watch Kamario Taylor and trying to give
- 1:33:43Speaker 2: my man as much space as possible. Cause I don't know,
- 1:33:46Speaker 2: I won't know what to do during that afternoon, but
- 1:33:49Speaker 2: then there's the other situation. where the confidence level five
- 1:33:52Speaker 2: and that money line hits and Michigan shocks the world
- 1:33:54Speaker 2: against Oklahoma.
- 1:33:55Speaker 3: Can you imagine him at 3.30?
- 1:33:56Speaker 2: I look like a genius.
- 1:33:57Speaker 3: It's a party for you. The kids just happened to
- 1:34:00Speaker 3: be there.
- 1:34:00Speaker 2: He took it over.
- 1:34:01Speaker 3: We're playing Pokemon.
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: If Michigan wins this game, dude, there's going to be
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: a wake up for every Michigan fan who's hating on
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: Bryce Underwood right now. And I will look like a genius.
- 1:34:10Speaker 1: But the most likely scenario is I look like a
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: fucking dumbass at the end of this whole thing.
- 1:34:16Speaker 2: And I'm good with those odds.
- 1:34:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:34:18Speaker 2: We'll be playing Pokemon. We'll be playing the game, excited
- 1:34:21Speaker 2: around the kids. Just being, we're going to both be
- 1:34:22Speaker 2: Ash Ketchum. I won't be there if we lose. I'm
- 1:34:23Speaker 2: going to be Brock with Onyx, dude. Yeah. And then
- 1:34:26Speaker 2: we're going to be checking out Kamario Taylor. Just vibes
- 1:34:28Speaker 2: are going to be high. We're going to be like,
- 1:34:29Speaker 2: we can't wait to see this Ohio State-Texas game. Man,
- 1:34:32Speaker 2: was it great to get that monkey off your back. Yeah. Hey,
- 1:34:35Speaker 2: Bryce Underwood, I can't believe you threw for 350. I, yeah.
- 1:34:38Speaker 2: I'm with you. But when, like, you guys commanded the
- 1:34:41Speaker 2: line of scrimmage. Yeah. Bryce made the plays when he
- 1:34:43Speaker 2: had to. Blake Frazier, Sprags, Guarnera. These guys just get
- 1:34:47Speaker 2: after it.
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: Owning Oklahoma's defense.
- 1:34:52Speaker 2: Owning them. Brent Venable's crying.
- 1:34:55Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:34:56Speaker 2: Yeah, dude.
- 1:34:57Speaker 3: Go that far, huh?
- 1:34:57Speaker 2: If you lose that big, you'll probably cry.
- 1:34:59Speaker 3: Do you do fan fiction at all? You're doing it
- 1:35:04Speaker 3: right now, actually. I'm just saying, do you normally participate
- 1:35:07Speaker 3: in fan fiction?
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: I was doing something wrong there. There's a website that
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: actually has my ID in for it.
- 1:35:12Speaker 2: No, what is that?
- 1:35:13Speaker 3: Fan fiction is like, I grew up in the South
- 1:35:16Speaker 3: and it never snowed in Georgia. and I always wanted
- 1:35:19Speaker 3: to see snow. So we did what is called wishcasting,
- 1:35:22Speaker 3: where you turn on the weather channel, you look at
- 1:35:24Speaker 3: the seven day forecast, and it doesn't matter if it
- 1:35:26Speaker 3: says 52 and rain, you're thinking to yourself, nah, it'll
- 1:35:29Speaker 3: be colder than 52. It's gonna snow next Thursday. but
- 1:35:35Speaker 3: we're fictionalizing it, weather fictionalizing it. You can do that
- 1:35:38Speaker 3: in football. You can get yourself sucked down that rabbit hole.
- 1:35:41Speaker 3: You can even, hey, it's going to snow. I'm banging
- 1:35:43Speaker 3: the table. It's going to snow. It doesn't change the
- 1:35:45Speaker 3: fact that it's not going to snow. So all I'm
- 1:35:47Speaker 3: saying is I used to be heartbroken every Christmas morning
- 1:35:50Speaker 3: as a kid growing up because I thought all the
- 1:35:53Speaker 3: fairy tales and the storybooks where you saw snow on Christmas,
- 1:35:56Speaker 3: that meant it snows on Christmas. But in Harris County, Georgia,
- 1:35:59Speaker 3: it doesn't snow on Christmas. And I would wake up
- 1:36:02Speaker 3: every morning completely dejected That's just grass outside. There's no snow.
- 1:36:07Speaker 3: But I did that to myself. It's not God's fault.
- 1:36:10Speaker 3: It's not the weatherman's fault. It's my fault. But I
- 1:36:13Speaker 3: didn't know how to assignate blame properly. I didn't know
- 1:36:15Speaker 3: how to take personal responsibility as a six-year-old kid. Now,
- 1:36:19Speaker 3: you may think to yourself, well, once you're a full-grown adult,
- 1:36:21Speaker 3: you'll know how to do that. But not always.
- 1:36:25Speaker 2: He just fan fiction theoried your ass, bro. Yeah, he
- 1:36:28Speaker 2: just fan nonfiction me.
- 1:36:30Speaker 3: So you're saying I'm you at six.
- 1:36:31Speaker 2: Maybe it's all irrelevant.
- 1:36:32Speaker 3: Maybe it's nonsense.
- 1:36:33Speaker 2: You're saying I'm you at six.
- 1:36:35Speaker 3: I'm saying you're going to look out on the ground
- 1:36:37Speaker 3: at 3.30 Saturday.
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: Yeah, and there'll be a birthday party going on. And
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: I'll have the biggest smile on my face in the world.
- 1:36:43Speaker 3: There could be snow out there. There could be snow.
- 1:36:45Speaker 3: I told you I think it's going to be a
- 1:36:46Speaker 3: close game. But I said it with low confidence. You
- 1:36:50Speaker 3: slapped the table five units on this.
- 1:36:52Speaker 2: I did.
- 1:36:52Speaker 3: There's no doubt in your mind.
- 1:36:54Speaker 6: No.
- 1:36:56Speaker 2: We too. We too.
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: Post week two is when I will give my true
- 1:36:59Speaker 1: opinion about Michigan. Until then, I ride with my team.
- 1:37:02Speaker 3: That's great.
- 1:37:03Speaker 2: So you could be off of them after week two.
- 1:37:05Speaker 3: Yeah. Oh, shit.
- 1:37:07Speaker 2: What?
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: I will have to take a real look in the
- 1:37:10Speaker 1: mirror and have a conversation about what Michigan really is
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: this year after week two.
- 1:37:14Speaker 2: What? Not to call you out on your fandom, you.
- 1:37:20Speaker 3: Said you can't leave the team.
- 1:37:22Speaker 2: Hold up the sign, Jack. We ride with Michigan until
- 1:37:26Speaker 2: the wheels fall off.
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: Yeah, if Michigan gets embarrassed against Oklahoma, the wheels would
- 1:37:31Speaker 1: technically be off at that point.
- 1:37:32Speaker 3: That's not going to happen.
- 1:37:32Speaker 2: And then you have to sit there. But the speech
- 1:37:34Speaker 2: you gave is.
- 1:37:34Speaker 1: I'm not saying F, I wouldn't say F Michigan, Bryce Underwood,
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: put him in a casket, he's done. I would have
- 1:37:39Speaker 1: a realistic look like, okay, clearly we're not the team
- 1:37:42Speaker 1: we thought.
- 1:37:43Speaker 2: You're out of the foxhole.
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: No, I'm in the foxhole, but I just know like,
- 1:37:46Speaker 1: I'm jumping on the grenade now. And I know when
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: it blows up, my pulse is done.
- 1:37:50Speaker 3: But that's how you would want to go.
- 1:37:52Speaker 2: Yes, we've had the conversation.
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: I told you this, I would love for you guys
- 1:37:55Speaker 1: to be in the foxhole with me. You go one unit,
- 1:37:57Speaker 1: but then you tell me a story that says you're
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: really five units. Talking about a six-year-old Josh Payton. I'm
- 1:38:01Speaker 1: the kid looking out the window being, I hope there's.
- 1:38:03Speaker 2: Snow on the ground. Oh, he's not in the foxhole.
- 1:38:06Speaker 2: I'm in the foxhole. No, you're not. Yes, I am.
- 1:38:08Speaker 3: I took the under.
- 1:38:08Speaker 2: No, this guy, I do not want this.
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: To turn into me versus you versus you. And we're
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: all like separately on different teams. I'm saying I have
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: a team right here and I'm in the foxhole of
- 1:38:19Speaker 1: this team. I look around and I don't even see
- 1:38:23Speaker 1: many Michigan fans in this foxhole with me.
- 1:38:25Speaker 2: I don't see you guys with me. I see somebody
- 1:38:27Speaker 2: on One Unit Oklahoma and I see somebody on the, under.
- 1:38:31Speaker 2: I took the under. Yeah, that is a roundabout- 20 points, 2017,
- 1:38:37Speaker 2: the under hits, you win, we all win.
- 1:38:41Speaker 3: 17 to six, Oklahoma, of course, he and I win and-
- 1:38:45Speaker 3: you're nowhere to be found. That's another trap door that
- 1:38:48Speaker 3: could open.
- 1:38:48Speaker 2: You go back to the foxhole and be like, this
- 1:38:49Speaker 2: is why you don't go in the foxhole with Taylor.
- 1:38:51Speaker 2: So I get it. I don't blame you.
- 1:38:53Speaker 1: I'm not mad at you. This is not your fight.
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: This is my fight.
- 1:38:58Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:38:59Speaker 1: And on 3.30, if it doesn't go my way, guess what?
- 1:39:03Speaker 1: I'll smile when I see you. I'll give you a hug.
- 1:39:05Speaker 1: You'll look into my eyes and know the truth, but
- 1:39:08Speaker 1: we out here for a kid's birthday party.
- 1:39:10Speaker 2: Yeah. And the, yeah. But it's going to be back here,
- 1:39:14Speaker 2: not out here.
- 1:39:15Speaker 6: You know?
- 1:39:16Speaker 2: I'm just going to let it eat.
- 1:39:19Speaker 3: Are you guys going to storm the field if you win?
- 1:39:21Speaker 2: I think here's what I think, dude. Jack the sign.
- 1:39:24Speaker 2: Cue the sign. I think we storm the field the
- 1:39:27Speaker 2: rest of the season.
- 1:39:28Speaker 3: You do it after every game.
- 1:39:29Speaker 2: Do they do that?
- 1:39:30Speaker 3: Yeah. No matter what.
- 1:39:31Speaker 2: Don't tread on fandom. Your sign's wrong. Don't tread on fandom.
- 1:39:34Speaker 3: That says Saturday.
- 1:39:36Speaker 2: Fandom.
- 1:39:37Speaker 3: People who tread on fandom are treading on Saturday. You're
- 1:39:40Speaker 3: endorsing the flag. You wore that last week.
- 1:39:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree with that. But I also agree with
- 1:39:46Speaker 1: don't tread on fandom. And that's a better sign. Because
- 1:39:50Speaker 1: unless you just go, I'm done with my team, you're
- 1:39:53Speaker 1: allowed to celebrate however you want. Is it what I
- 1:39:56Speaker 1: wanted to happen? No, but I wanted to beat Winston
- 1:39:58Speaker 1: Michigan by 50. I would have loved for that to happen.
- 1:40:01Speaker 1: And I've been like, all right, we're ready for week two.
- 1:40:04Speaker 1: And maybe we're sitting in a foxhole together. Maybe we're
- 1:40:06Speaker 1: also sitting in a foxhole together.
- 1:40:08Speaker 2: He called you a six-year-old. He did.
- 1:40:11Speaker 3: All good.
- 1:40:13Speaker 2: All good. Let's get out of here. Well, we got nothing. Hey,
- 1:40:20Speaker 2: save me. Let's get out of here. Two. Two units
- 1:40:27Speaker 2: on the Texas Longhorns. Dude, Arthur Smith, I love you.
- 1:40:31Speaker 2: One of the first five episodes on Bustin' with the Boys.
- 1:40:33Speaker 2: I love you dearly.
- 1:40:35Speaker 3: Could you tell him to stop confusing with me and
- 1:40:36Speaker 3: Delaney Walker? I get so tired of people doing that
- 1:40:38Speaker 3: to me. It's an easy next up.
- 1:40:41Speaker 2: Dog of the week. Let's get our dogs of the week.
- 1:40:44Speaker 2: Mine's going to be easy here. I'm going Charlotte plus
- 1:40:47Speaker 2: 47.5 against Ole Miss. I love both dogs against LSU
- 1:40:50Speaker 2: and Ole Miss because neither Ole Miss or LSU is
- 1:40:52Speaker 2: going to even care about who in the hell they're
- 1:40:54Speaker 2: playing this weekend. They're all on to week three. They're
- 1:40:56Speaker 2: all on to we'll get to that game next week,
- 1:40:58Speaker 2: but they could give a shit who they play this weekend.
- 1:41:01Speaker 2: They're running cards right now on the practice field as
- 1:41:04Speaker 2: we speak. They're reviewing tape as we speak as you
- 1:41:06Speaker 2: watch this on Wednesday evenings. They were reviewing the film
- 1:41:09Speaker 2: for next week on their opponent, LSU or Ole Miss.
- 1:41:11Speaker 2: So this is Charlotte plus 47.5. That's the reason why.
- 1:41:15Speaker 6: All right.
- 1:41:16Speaker 3: I am going Old Dominion plus I believe I got
- 1:41:18Speaker 3: 19.5 against Virginia Tech. I think people are a little
- 1:41:22Speaker 3: bit too amped up about that week one win. And
- 1:41:26Speaker 3: James Franklin boldly defended his players for dapping up the troops.
- 1:41:30Speaker 3: Officials threw a flag on it. James Franklin said that's
- 1:41:33Speaker 3: an un-American penalty. He wasn't wrong. But it has nothing
- 1:41:36Speaker 3: to do with Old Dominion this week. So I like
- 1:41:38Speaker 3: Virginia Tech to win, but not to cover. I got
- 1:41:40Speaker 3: an ODU plus 19.5.
- 1:41:41Speaker 2: You know what you'll like? My parlay. Go ahead, Taylor.
- 1:41:45Speaker 2: Talk of the week.
- 1:41:46Speaker 1: Yesterday in our team meeting, Jack Coleman sat there and
- 1:41:48Speaker 1: gave us a whole breakdown on the man in the
- 1:41:50Speaker 1: red bandana and how this guy during 9-11 went up
- 1:41:54Speaker 1: and down 20 flights of stairs and saved 18 people.
- 1:41:57Speaker 1: Boston College, every year. remembers the man in the red bandana.
- 1:42:02Speaker 1: And they have red bandanas on. The whole student section
- 1:42:05Speaker 1: wears it. The cheerleaders wear it. And they celebrate this
- 1:42:08Speaker 1: unnamed man who was selfless, looked death in.
- 1:42:11Speaker 2: The eye, and said, I'll save these people before I go.
- 1:42:15Speaker 2: I think that's absolutely beautiful. They play Rutgers this week.
- 1:42:18Speaker 2: And I've got Rutgers covering, plus three and a half.
- 1:42:21Speaker 1: I like Rutgers. They switch the quarterback up. You're never
- 1:42:24Speaker 1: as bad as you think you are, and you're never
- 1:42:26Speaker 1: as good as you think you are. BC didn't play great.
- 1:42:29Speaker 1: BC don't look good. I'm not saying red bandana game
- 1:42:32Speaker 1: doesn't go to BC. I'm just saying Rutgers coverage and
- 1:42:35Speaker 1: it's a lot closer.
- 1:42:35Speaker 3: Oh, that's good.
- 1:42:36Speaker 2: Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:42:37Speaker 3: That's classic.
- 1:42:38Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:42:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:42:39Speaker 1: Also, Rutgers is doing the 36, right? Because there was
- 1:42:42Speaker 1: 36 men and women.
- 1:42:44Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. 37 for the firefighters. Okay.
- 1:42:50Speaker 2: So it's a very patriotic game.
- 1:42:52Speaker 3: Fair enough.
- 1:42:53Speaker 2: You wish both teams could win. Isn't the.
- 1:42:57Speaker 2: Betting against Boston College Red Bandana and the.
- 1:42:59Speaker 3: Game is being played on 9-11. Yeah, other than that though.
- 1:43:04Speaker 1: And timeout, isn't his name? I'm betting against the spread.
- 1:43:09Speaker 1: Totally different than 9-11, Man of Red Bandana. It just
- 1:43:14Speaker 1: happens to be that night.
- 1:43:15Speaker 2: And you also said unnamed man. Like, doesn't he have
- 1:43:17Speaker 2: a name? Is it like Wells Crowther?
- 1:43:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: But to the people in those towers, they did not
- 1:43:24Speaker 1: know his name.
- 1:43:26Speaker 2: The people in those towers. This unnamed man. I think
- 1:43:31Speaker 2: it's on the jerseys. Do it for Wells.
- 1:43:33Speaker 1: Do it for Wells is on the back of the jerseys.
- 1:43:36Speaker 1: You guys know what I'm saying, man. I think we're
- 1:43:39Speaker 1: getting saved.
- 1:43:41Speaker 2: You want to check out this parlay?
- 1:43:43Speaker 3: I got to hear this. I got a parlay.
- 1:43:44Speaker 2: I got a unit on this parlay this week. Oh,
- 1:43:49Speaker 2: come on, Jack. Hold the sign up. Hey, hold up, Cody.
- 1:43:53Speaker 1: I said I like Rutgers this week, and you're like, yo,
- 1:43:55Speaker 1: I love Rutgers this week. And then you go and
- 1:43:57Speaker 1: just do the 9-11 thing to me just now?
- 1:43:59Speaker 2: Oh, no. That's something I'll never forget, dude. I will
- 1:44:03Speaker 2: never forget that.
- 1:44:04Speaker 3: I'm in your foxhole.
- 1:44:05Speaker 2: You're not. This parlay, check it out. Mizzou money line.
- 1:44:14Speaker 2: Alabama money line. BYU money line. Tennessee alt line minus
- 1:44:20Speaker 2: six and a half. Virginia Tech, Alt-Line, minus nine and
- 1:44:27Speaker 2: a half.
- 1:44:28Speaker 3: We can still both win. Go ahead.
- 1:44:30Speaker 2: Iowa Alt-Line, minus six and a half.
- 1:44:32Speaker 3: That's half a dozen so far.
- 1:44:35Speaker 2: Plus 487. Okay. That is plus 487? Yeah, because there's
- 1:44:41Speaker 2: some heavy favorites in there. You don't say. All right.
- 1:44:45Speaker 2: We're going to see what that one unit does. All right.
- 1:44:49Speaker 1: East Tennessee State, plus 35.5. Let me get Louisville, minus 36.5.
- 1:44:53Speaker 1: Who are they playing? Doesn't matter, does it?
- 1:44:57Speaker 3: It literally doesn't.
- 1:44:58Speaker 2: It does not.
- 1:44:58Speaker 3: It could never have mattered less.
- 1:44:59Speaker 2: They lost to Ole Miss the way they did. North
- 1:45:01Speaker 2: Dakota State Air Force, over 47.5. Three games only, plus 585.
- 1:45:04Speaker 3: Okay. Check my numbers here.
- 1:45:13Speaker 2: You out-odds me there. With half the games.
- 1:45:18Speaker 3: I remember my teams. I think I got Georgia Southern
- 1:45:21Speaker 3: plus 20 and a half. What are you doing right now?
- 1:45:23Speaker 2: You making them look up your parlor?
- 1:45:24Speaker 3: I'm just making sure I got the numbers right. I
- 1:45:27Speaker 3: didn't even write anything down. Georgia Southern against Clemson plus
- 1:45:30Speaker 3: 20 and a half. And I got Ohio State Texas
- 1:45:34Speaker 3: under 49 and a half. Damn, I like that one.
- 1:45:38Speaker 3: One unit.
- 1:45:39Speaker 2: Just a two-piece.
- 1:45:40Speaker 3: Just a two-piecer.
- 1:45:41Speaker 2: Hey, by the way, last week, did you go as
- 1:45:43Speaker 2: a parlay? Not on the show, but in general. Auburn
- 1:45:48Speaker 2: Moneyline and Baylor plus seven and a half?
- 1:45:51Speaker 6: No.
- 1:45:52Speaker 3: I thought those would happen.
- 1:45:53Speaker 2: Those are correlated.
- 1:45:53Speaker 3: I don't think I could.
- 1:45:54Speaker 2: Have done that. I saw you put out the tweet.
- 1:45:56Speaker 2: I was like, I was playing some 3D chess if
- 1:45:58Speaker 2: he put that on there. I don't think you can
- 1:46:00Speaker 2: bet that.
- 1:46:01Speaker 1: I did bet UCLA and the over.
- 1:46:05Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Did you guys hear me? What'd you say?
- 1:46:08Speaker 1: UCLA and the over. I bet that got that hit.
- 1:46:11Speaker 2: Yeah, that was a good hit.
- 1:46:12Speaker 3: That was a really good one. It was a good
- 1:46:13Speaker 3: game too. 21-0 run in the fourth quarter.
- 1:46:15Speaker 2: Man. I had two bowls of cereal because, dude, I
- 1:46:18Speaker 2: don't know how you guys felt. I was just exhausted
- 1:46:22Speaker 2: from that entire day. But I'm sitting there. You finally
- 1:46:24Speaker 2: take the socks off, kind of peel them off your feet.
- 1:46:27Speaker 2: The family was out of town in Maine, and I'm
- 1:46:28Speaker 2: just sitting there on my couch with a bowl of
- 1:46:30Speaker 2: Honey Nut Cheerios. Let's go. Just being excited. Dude, it
- 1:46:35Speaker 2: was so hot. It was. In Louisiana. It was hot.
- 1:46:38Speaker 3: It was a hot one.
- 1:46:39Speaker 2: So much fun though. Had a great time. Actually, it
- 1:46:41Speaker 2: wasn't that fun, to be honest, because that game.
- 1:46:44Speaker 1: Honestly, it wasn't that fun because Jesse and his commentating
- 1:46:47Speaker 1: in the bus had me wanting to send myself through
- 1:46:50Speaker 1: a wall. When we're on the bus driving to the airport,
- 1:46:53Speaker 1: I already told him this. He knows all these answers.
- 1:46:54Speaker 1: He thinks Oklahoma's going to beat Michigan's ass this weekend.
- 1:46:57Speaker 2: Is that what you think, Jesse?
- 1:47:00Speaker 3: Oh, God damn you.
- 1:47:03Speaker 2: Good. You know what that is? Disrespect. That's sheep mentality.
- 1:47:07Speaker 2: That's disrespect. He's just joining everybody else. Yeah. We'll see
- 1:47:10Speaker 2: you on Saturday, buddy. Come to the birthday party? No,
- 1:47:12Speaker 2: because you'll be scared. You'll be scared in front of
- 1:47:14Speaker 2: my kid. What's that? Did it? Yeah, because that slapping
- 1:47:19Speaker 2: you just did, man. I was about to give it
- 1:47:21Speaker 2: to you. The line on the Ohio State-Texas, I know
- 1:47:24Speaker 2: it's going to move 48.5 and 49.5, but that's the
- 1:47:26Speaker 2: current line right on points, 49.5? 49.5. I'm surprised you
- 1:47:30Speaker 2: didn't go under then for your pick, your two-unit pick.
- 1:47:35Speaker 3: Saved it for the parlay. Got to roll with Texas. Yeah,
- 1:47:37Speaker 3: saved it for the parlay. Got you, got you, got you.
- 1:47:39Speaker 2: Gentlemen, hey. Great show.
- 1:47:41Speaker 3: Great show. Good luck to us all.
