Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
- 0:05Speaker 1: Michael Bumps. After ten yard line, second to day free
- 0:08Speaker 1: wide receivers now in motion as puppis left to right,
- 0:11Speaker 1: Julius Jones were single setback Matt Pumpfecks looking at the
- 0:14Speaker 1: goal line. He throws it into the end zone. Touchdown.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Say Hawks, it's Michael Bumpus with a diving catching the
- 0:21Speaker 1: end zone. Our ten yard touchdown reception for Bumpus and
- 0:25Speaker 1: the kid out of Washington State has found himself a
- 0:29Speaker 1: place on this team. Powered by Seahawks dot Com. What Up, twelves,
- 0:34Speaker 1: This is Michael Bumps Hawk Talk the recap edition the
- 0:37Speaker 1: Hoss go down to Atlanta and beat the Falcons twenty
- 0:39Speaker 1: seven to twenty. First half is great? Second half now
- 0:42Speaker 1: so much? Well, we got something to talk about, like
- 0:45Speaker 1: we have in the pass. We got big round the phone.
- 0:47Speaker 1: How are you doing, big right, I'm chilling like a villain, Bud.
- 0:49Speaker 1: How you doing? You know what I'm saying. I'm just
- 0:51Speaker 1: trying to make it Ray trying to make a baby. Hey,
- 0:54Speaker 1: let's get right into it. So what did you see
- 0:57Speaker 1: out of that offensive line in the first half? And
- 1:00Speaker 1: then what did you see from the line in the
- 1:02Speaker 1: second half. Well, the thing is is that in the
- 1:05Speaker 1: first half, there is no doubt that are the scheme
- 1:09Speaker 1: that we have, the running backs, we have, the offensive
- 1:11Speaker 1: linement that we have. It all works. I mean, they
- 1:14Speaker 1: dominated the line of scrimas, there was space for Chris
- 1:17Speaker 1: Carson and for Richard Penny to make yards and look
- 1:21Speaker 1: really good doing it. And then in the second half
- 1:24Speaker 1: for the second week in the road, which seems like
- 1:26Speaker 1: the run game was shut down. And after the game,
- 1:29Speaker 1: Dwayne Brown kind of blamed intensity level coming out of
- 1:33Speaker 1: the second half and Pete Carroll kind of blamed himself
- 1:35Speaker 1: in schemes, and I agree with both of them. I
- 1:38Speaker 1: think if some of the intensitive level was was out
- 1:42Speaker 1: of the Seahawks and the offensive line. I think that
- 1:44Speaker 1: the scheme Atlanta made some adjustments and was playing a
- 1:48Speaker 1: little bit faster and more aggressively than the Seahawks. And
- 1:50Speaker 1: so you know, I've been on teams before where they've
- 1:52Speaker 1: practiced coming out of the second half, and so maybe
- 1:56Speaker 1: that's something the Seahawks should do, because there's no reason
- 1:59Speaker 1: that there should be now in his eight yards in
- 2:01Speaker 1: the third quarter, only eighteen plays in the second half
- 2:04Speaker 1: for an offense that was rolling so so well in
- 2:07Speaker 1: the first half. Yeah, so justin Britt goes down with
- 2:10Speaker 1: an ACL tear is what we're hearing. Do you think
- 2:13Speaker 1: Joey Hunt has what it takes to lead the charge
- 2:15Speaker 1: going forward? I think Joey Hunt has has the ability
- 2:19Speaker 1: to hold it down in the middle. If the guards
- 2:23Speaker 1: are having spectacular play, whether that's Jupati or Jones or
- 2:30Speaker 1: DJ Flucker, they have to be really playing at the
- 2:33Speaker 1: top of their game. Because he's an undersized guy. He
- 2:35Speaker 1: gives a great effort, he's smart, he makes sure people
- 2:38Speaker 1: in the right places, but he can be overpowered at times.
- 2:41Speaker 1: So I know that Jamarco Jones took some reps at
- 2:45Speaker 1: center last week, and so I'm not sure if that's
- 2:48Speaker 1: something that they're considering because has a lot to learn
- 2:50Speaker 1: with the communication part of it. But but there is
- 2:53Speaker 1: gonna be uh, I think a little downshift and play
- 2:57Speaker 1: at that position until they figured out. And then speaking
- 3:00Speaker 1: of Jamarco Jones, I just came up with a new
- 3:03Speaker 1: nickname for him the other day yesterday that was called
- 3:05Speaker 1: the Truth. This dude came in at left tackle at
- 3:08Speaker 1: left guard when your party was out for a little while,
- 3:10Speaker 1: and he looked just as smooth at left guard as
- 3:12Speaker 1: he did at right guard. And like I said, he
- 3:14Speaker 1: he was drafted as an oppositive tackle and out of
- 3:17Speaker 1: Ohio State, and then he took reps at center. And
- 3:20Speaker 1: so this dude is a bonafide full time starter in
- 3:25Speaker 1: this league. It's just a matter of time before he
- 3:28Speaker 1: before he's inserted full time. With the addition of addition
- 3:31Speaker 1: of Jamarco Jones and Dwayne Brown being heard coming in
- 3:35Speaker 1: and out flukers spending some time out. Do you think
- 3:37Speaker 1: we've seen the potential of this office in line yet?
- 3:39Speaker 1: Have they played their best football yet? I don't think
- 3:43Speaker 1: we've seen the potential of it as it relates to
- 3:45Speaker 1: like the entire game. So, like I said, the last
- 3:49Speaker 1: two games, in the first half, I mean, he looked
- 3:51Speaker 1: like one of like they're back to the form they
- 3:53Speaker 1: were at the end of last season. They looked like
- 3:54Speaker 1: they're one of the top, you know, offensive lines in
- 3:57Speaker 1: the run game, especially in the NFL. But then the
- 4:00Speaker 1: way that they've responded in the second half, Mata then
- 4:03Speaker 1: go like, well, then what's going on? Like is it
- 4:05Speaker 1: really truly an intensity thing? Is it really truly a scheme? Thing,
- 4:08Speaker 1: and to me, I really think that it's somewhere in
- 4:11Speaker 1: the middle or a combination of both of those things.
- 4:13Speaker 1: And so even with you know, I think Jamarco Jones
- 4:17Speaker 1: to me has been like like people are sleeping on
- 4:19Speaker 1: it because of everything that Russell does. But that dude
- 4:22Speaker 1: has been in the MVP conversation for this offense because
- 4:27Speaker 1: he's filled in gaps and holes with such efficiency that
- 4:30Speaker 1: you don't even realize that that person is out. So
- 4:33Speaker 1: I think, you know, a combination of Flucker Jamarco Jones
- 4:37Speaker 1: and you Potty at those guard spots and then healthy
- 4:41Speaker 1: Dwayne Brown and Jermaine Effetti if they can get one
- 4:45Speaker 1: complete game together, then the sky's the limit for this offense. Yeah,
- 4:49Speaker 1: Jamarco Jones is doing this thing in multiple positions, So
- 4:52Speaker 1: it seems like everyone's chasing the forty nine is right now,
- 4:55Speaker 1: they're seven and oh six and O they're looking at
- 4:58Speaker 1: it wor they're looking at everybody in review mirror. What
- 5:01Speaker 1: do the Hawks have to do to keep up with
- 5:03Speaker 1: these guys? You know, to me, it's like what offensively,
- 5:07Speaker 1: it's what we've just been talking about, just really been
- 5:10Speaker 1: having a consistent output for the entire game. I mean,
- 5:13Speaker 1: you don't had eighteen plays in the second half. You
- 5:15Speaker 1: can't impose your will or or physicality on another team
- 5:19Speaker 1: within eighteen plays, and that gives Russell Wilson left plays
- 5:22Speaker 1: to work his magic with Tyler Lockett. And then you know,
- 5:25Speaker 1: you look at DJ Metcalf who's coming on at the
- 5:28Speaker 1: mid point of the season. He has twenty two catches
- 5:31Speaker 1: point in two yards and four touchdowns, which isn't bad,
- 5:34Speaker 1: so you get more opportunities to get him the ball.
- 5:36Speaker 1: And then defensively, we've kind of been in that band,
- 5:39Speaker 1: but don't break mode. We haven't connected our pass rush
- 5:41Speaker 1: with our coverage, and we've done pretty good in the
- 5:44Speaker 1: run game at times. So it's two sides of the
- 5:47Speaker 1: ball that haven't really put together a complete game yet,
- 5:51Speaker 1: which is good in offense because they're six and two
- 5:54Speaker 1: with that formula, but it makes it a little scary.
- 5:57Speaker 1: But you know that this team has always played better
- 5:59Speaker 1: down a stretch. They get better after the halfway point.
- 6:02Speaker 1: I think Pete Carroll said this is the beginning of
- 6:05Speaker 1: the end of the season, and this is when they
- 6:07Speaker 1: kind of lock in and get better. The other thing
- 6:09Speaker 1: to not to take and to notice too, was that
- 6:12Speaker 1: Michael Dixon had a Michael Dixon type stat line yesterday.
- 6:16Speaker 1: He had four punts for average forty nine yards and
- 6:19Speaker 1: three inside to twenty with the long and fifty eight.
- 6:22Speaker 1: That's going to also help flip the fields and help
- 6:24Speaker 1: the defense better. So all of that stuff starts to
- 6:26Speaker 1: get connected the second half of the season. And I
- 6:29Speaker 1: still have my money on the Seahawks. I know that
- 6:31Speaker 1: the forty nine ers are playing well and they're undefeated.
- 6:34Speaker 1: They're getting a lot of sacks and turnovers and things.
- 6:36Speaker 1: But I just really feel like the Seahawks are good
- 6:39Speaker 1: at playing really tight games. They have more guys that
- 6:41Speaker 1: are experienced at that, and I still I still have
- 6:45Speaker 1: my money on the Seahawks. Sound a stretch, all right?
- 6:47Speaker 1: One more question for you, Ray. I heard Danny O'Neill
- 6:49Speaker 1: ask brock Hewart this question. I'm gonna ask you this question.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Would you rather be the best four and four team
- 6:55Speaker 1: are the worst six and two team? Man, I'm can
- 7:00Speaker 1: wins every time, bro, Like six and two is six
- 7:03Speaker 1: and two. You know what I'm saying. And so if
- 7:05Speaker 1: you if you you know, you know, on our show,
- 7:07Speaker 1: we're always saying, like, you know, what does that project
- 7:09Speaker 1: to that project to a twelve and four season. A
- 7:12Speaker 1: four and four team project jects to an eight and
- 7:14Speaker 1: eight season. So twelve and four be eight and eight
- 7:17Speaker 1: all day and twice on Sunday. So I'm going I'm
- 7:20Speaker 1: going with the sixte and two. I'm not one of
- 7:22Speaker 1: those dudes who's gonna complain about what the Seahawks are.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Not I'm gonna, but I'm gonna celebrate what they are.
- 7:28Speaker 1: A wise man once said, you played to win the game.
- 7:32Speaker 1: And the Seahawks left Atlanta, uh, with the victory under
- 7:36Speaker 1: their wings. And so they're sixty two at the midway point, Uh,
- 7:40Speaker 1: with a chance to to you know, to start the
- 7:42Speaker 1: second half of the season. Uh, you know, you know,
- 7:44Speaker 1: behind the forty nine ers, but in a position to
- 7:47Speaker 1: control their destiny. And so I take that all day
- 7:50Speaker 1: twice on Sunday. I'm with you. It's all about the
- 7:52Speaker 1: W's big ray. Well, thank you again for joining us. Well,
- 7:55Speaker 1: I'm sure we'll talk again here soon next week. You
- 7:58Speaker 1: have a good one man, your two brother peace. All right,
- 8:02Speaker 1: we're gonna move into our main takeaways. What do we
- 8:05Speaker 1: learn from this game? The Seahawks start the season four
- 8:07Speaker 1: and on the road, first time since nineteen eighty and
- 8:09Speaker 1: our six and two for the first time since two
- 8:12Speaker 1: thousand and five. Nas I wasn't born in nineteen eighty,
- 8:15Speaker 1: neither was our far from it, far from it, But hey,
- 8:18Speaker 1: four and ohs four and six and two and Ray
- 8:20Speaker 1: touched on a team To end that little interview, is
- 8:23Speaker 1: wins or wins man that's gonna be. I think that's
- 8:25Speaker 1: the theme of this podcast, is that wins or wins
- 8:28Speaker 1: And you cannot be upset with a six and two record?
- 8:31Speaker 1: Can you just can't. I cannot fathom the negativity around
- 8:34Speaker 1: this team when we are six and two. Yeah, it's
- 8:37Speaker 1: it's amazing to me. I'd be like, we're six and two,
- 8:40Speaker 1: we're second in the division. We're playing behind the forty
- 8:43Speaker 1: nine ers who really haven't played too many good too
- 8:46Speaker 1: many good teams yet. So the future is bright. I'm
- 8:49Speaker 1: with you there, all right. So the game was to
- 8:51Speaker 1: tell the two halves first half twenty four zero offenses, clicking,
- 8:54Speaker 1: bom bone, moving the ball, defensive ball. At second half
- 8:56Speaker 1: it seems like we can't get a first down. Shop
- 8:59Speaker 1: is throwing the ball where It's a little disappointing, but
- 9:02Speaker 1: end of the day, we gotta win. Can't be too
- 9:04Speaker 1: mad at that. The Seahawks got back to what they
- 9:07Speaker 1: do best. They run the ball. They were able to
- 9:09Speaker 1: get one hundred and fifty one yards on the ground.
- 9:11Speaker 1: Chris Carson is a catalyst to this thing. They had
- 9:13Speaker 1: the tough ninety yards over the Falcons dB. Every time
- 9:16Speaker 1: he got a chance, he was lowering the shoulder and
- 9:19Speaker 1: bringing pain to the game. I love the way he
- 9:22Speaker 1: runs the rock. Chris Carson. Man, you watch that, dude,
- 9:25Speaker 1: because we've talked about this all through the season. Now
- 9:27Speaker 1: everyone knows he can run you over. Everyone knows that,
- 9:29Speaker 1: but now he's adding a little shiftiness to hold juke you.
- 9:32Speaker 1: So now, as a dB coming up, you have no
- 9:34Speaker 1: idea if he's gonna run you over or he's gonna
- 9:37Speaker 1: juke you. But here's my only thing. Listen, Chris Carson
- 9:41Speaker 1: is never going to step out of bounds near the sideline.
- 9:44Speaker 1: It's a PSA to all dbs and this happening. It's
- 9:47Speaker 1: the Falcons on Sunday, third and three for Russ Hamster. Carson,
- 9:51Speaker 1: He's got the first down, stiff arms a man him
- 9:53Speaker 1: sign thirty five spins out of a tackle, thirty twenty
- 9:55Speaker 1: five pounds or defensive back and it's knocked out of
- 9:58Speaker 1: bounds at the other land out of twenty. Sheffield's the
- 10:03Speaker 1: guy who got nailed a nineteen yard game by Chris Carson.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Who they they don't pay DB's enough to try to
- 10:10Speaker 1: tackle that man. No, they don't. And if I'm coming
- 10:12Speaker 1: from space, I'm coming down from a secondary position from
- 10:14Speaker 1: ten fifteen yards away and this man has a full
- 10:16Speaker 1: head of speed and it's coming north and south. Had
- 10:18Speaker 1: me good luck. I'm chopping him down. I'm going I'm
- 10:20Speaker 1: going ankles, baby ankles all day. On the sad note,
- 10:24Speaker 1: the Hawks likely used Justin Britt for the season with
- 10:26Speaker 1: an ACL injury. We saw it was kind of a
- 10:28Speaker 1: non contact deal. Sucks for Britt and keep your head up.
- 10:33Speaker 1: He still came out of the locker room. Man, he's
- 10:34Speaker 1: dapping his boys up. He's waiting for him after the
- 10:37Speaker 1: game into the locker room. I follow him on Twitter.
- 10:39Speaker 1: I saw a lot of the Chris Carson reached out.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Russell Wilson reached out. A huge loss for this team,
- 10:45Speaker 1: but his presence will still be felt in this building. Yeah.
- 10:48Speaker 1: He once he moved to center, he really became a
- 10:50Speaker 1: leader in that room. It was a really young offensive
- 10:52Speaker 1: line group, and he stood, he stepped up and really
- 10:55Speaker 1: kind of took control. And then you added Dwayne Brown,
- 10:57Speaker 1: you added a fook, or you added you Potti. The
- 11:00Speaker 1: leadership is there. Jessin Britt still got his hands all
- 11:03Speaker 1: over this offensive line, and I think his leadership is
- 11:06Speaker 1: not going to go anywhere. Last takeaway. At the end
- 11:09Speaker 1: of the day, there's no style points in NFL. Wins
- 11:11Speaker 1: are wins. Just like Big Race said, the Hawks are
- 11:13Speaker 1: six and two. Stop all the negativity. Let's ride baby.
- 11:17Speaker 1: All right, We're gonna move into the top performers. Now
- 11:19Speaker 1: we got to talk about Russell Wilson, another efficient Dame
- 11:22Speaker 1: fourteen to twenty four, one hundred and eighty two yards,
- 11:24Speaker 1: two touchdowns. So now Russell Wilson joins Drew Brees as
- 11:27Speaker 1: the only players this nineteen seventy to throw seventeen touchdowns
- 11:31Speaker 1: and one interception. Are fewer in the first eight games
- 11:34Speaker 1: of the season. This guy is efficient. He's like a
- 11:37Speaker 1: surgeon out there. Now. I mean it's every single week
- 11:41Speaker 1: I put this rundown together, there is notes about Russell Wilson,
- 11:45Speaker 1: and it's always something like, Russell Wilson is the first
- 11:48Speaker 1: quarterback since blank or since the merger to do X
- 11:51Speaker 1: y Z every single week and it just shows you
- 11:53Speaker 1: the class he's in this early news career. Yeah, and
- 11:55Speaker 1: I think this week kind of got him back on
- 11:57Speaker 1: the national stage for the MVP race. People are quick
- 11:59Speaker 1: to jump ship didn't have the greatest game last week,
- 12:02Speaker 1: came back this week. Two touchdowns, don't decision and interceptions
- 12:05Speaker 1: playing the fishing football. Also, dk Metcalf three catches, thirteen yards,
- 12:10Speaker 1: but two touchdowns. Could have had three but he dropped one.
- 12:14Speaker 1: But he's looking good. With two tits in the first
- 12:15Speaker 1: half versus Falcons, dk Metcalf became the first see how
- 12:18Speaker 1: rookie would two receiving touchdowns in the first half since
- 12:21Speaker 1: Week eleven, twenty fifteen versus Sanford six or forty nine ers.
- 12:25Speaker 1: That was his boy, Tyler Lockett doing it so and
- 12:27Speaker 1: we got we got too. I think we have a
- 12:29Speaker 1: number two receiver at this point in the season. We
- 12:32Speaker 1: talked about a little bit earlier on the postgame show.
- 12:34Speaker 1: I mean, right now, Mattcoff has twenty twenty two receptions,
- 12:37Speaker 1: four hundred two yards and four touchdowns. You multiply that
- 12:40Speaker 1: by two, he's gonna have over eight hundred yards, eight touchdowns,
- 12:43Speaker 1: and a lot of people, myself included, didn't want to
- 12:46Speaker 1: set the expectations guy high for this guy because you know,
- 12:48Speaker 1: obviously you played receiver in the NFL. It's hard to adjust.
- 12:52Speaker 1: It is hard to just come from the college game.
- 12:53Speaker 1: You're seeing defenses you've never seen before. And he is,
- 12:56Speaker 1: without a doubt, emerge and completely blown out any expectations
- 12:59Speaker 1: I had for him coming in. Yeah, we spoke to
- 13:01Speaker 1: Pete Carroll today and he said he has seated expectations.
- 13:04Speaker 1: You know. He said he didn't think that he'll be
- 13:05Speaker 1: able to justice quickly. He loves, he loves what he's doing,
- 13:08Speaker 1: and he's becoming a route running. He ran a double
- 13:09Speaker 1: move the other day. I don't think I've ever seen
- 13:11Speaker 1: him run a double move. And they let clean DK Mancalf.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Keep doing your thing. Also, Tyler Lockett six receptions for
- 13:17Speaker 1: our one hundred yards. He was targeted six times. Six
- 13:20Speaker 1: catches a hundred yards and some tough catches. He makes
- 13:23Speaker 1: big boy catches in a small guy's body. It doesn't
- 13:26Speaker 1: you look at it, It does not make sense. He
- 13:28Speaker 1: is not a big guy. He'll be completely covered. Two
- 13:31Speaker 1: separate times on Sunday he was completely covered. dB could
- 13:35Speaker 1: not have been in a better position, but he'll make
- 13:37Speaker 1: a catch with one hand. If there's just something about
- 13:39Speaker 1: maybe you can speak to this how he can get
- 13:41Speaker 1: separation at the last second where he is covered, but
- 13:44Speaker 1: when it's tire locket, he's always open. He makes me
- 13:46Speaker 1: go against almost everything I teach as a receiver. The
- 13:48Speaker 1: way he catches the ball isn't conventional life. I tell
- 13:51Speaker 1: my guys to turn your hands over attack the football,
- 13:54Speaker 1: but he has a way of shielding golf defenders and
- 13:58Speaker 1: letting the cradle right down into his hands, which is
- 14:00Speaker 1: amazing being having a smaller body. Usually you see big
- 14:03Speaker 1: bodies due that you can post up, but being like
- 14:05Speaker 1: five ten and five eleven, he's still getting done. I
- 14:08Speaker 1: love watching this guy play, and he's a good dude.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Marquis Blair and his second career is already had eleven
- 14:13Speaker 1: tackles and a huge force funnel to stop the Falcons
- 14:16Speaker 1: short of the goal line. Hey, this dude's coming downhill.
- 14:19Speaker 1: He missed a couple of tackles, but he's coming downhill
- 14:22Speaker 1: and he's trying to smack you. He brings an intensity
- 14:24Speaker 1: that I think this defense has been missing. Absolutely. I
- 14:27Speaker 1: mean all Seahawk fans know we had the Legion of
- 14:29Speaker 1: Boom and we had two guys back there, especially in
- 14:31Speaker 1: camp Chancellor the enforcer. You had to know where number
- 14:35Speaker 1: thirty one was at all times, especially if you're playing
- 14:37Speaker 1: wide receiver. Marquis Blair now not this same body type,
- 14:40Speaker 1: but man, he's still a thumper. Like you look at him,
- 14:43Speaker 1: don't You didn't seem like a huge guy. But don't
- 14:46Speaker 1: get it twisted. He's gonna bring it twisted. He's coming downhill.
- 14:48Speaker 1: And now with the addition of Diggs, I want to
- 14:50Speaker 1: see what that looks like with those two back there,
- 14:52Speaker 1: because they kind of have the same playing style. Diggs
- 14:54Speaker 1: is a little thicker, but they both played with intensity
- 14:57Speaker 1: fly downhill. I'm interested to see what happens there. Still
- 15:00Speaker 1: got Tetrick, don't sleep on Tetrick and McDougall. This this
- 15:02Speaker 1: safety position is deep right now. Now, all of a sudden,
- 15:05Speaker 1: we got death. And there's times, you know, they can
- 15:07Speaker 1: have formations where they got three safeties on the field.
- 15:09Speaker 1: They've done it before and if they used to some
- 15:12Speaker 1: people call it big nickel or whatever you want to
- 15:13Speaker 1: call it. But if you have another safety on the field,
- 15:16Speaker 1: that helps you in the run game. It could be
- 15:17Speaker 1: interesting with all those guys back there, and not to
- 15:19Speaker 1: mention Lano Hill still back there as well once he
- 15:21Speaker 1: gets healthy. Man, they're d back there. We cannot go
- 15:25Speaker 1: through this podcast and not talk about Bobby Wagner. With
- 15:28Speaker 1: two tackles on the Falcons Open he Drive, Bobby Wagner
- 15:31Speaker 1: became the franchise all time leading tackler, passing Eugene Robinson
- 15:35Speaker 1: with six tackles in a game. He now has nine
- 15:37Speaker 1: hundred eighty nine for his career. He also picked up
- 15:40Speaker 1: his eighth bumble recovery. This guy's everywhere you hear Pete
- 15:44Speaker 1: talk about him. He says it's his worth ethic. It
- 15:47Speaker 1: doesn't surprise him that he's here so early and by
- 15:50Speaker 1: the time he's done. No one's touching this record for
- 15:52Speaker 1: a very long time. No, I mean, whoever that person
- 15:56Speaker 1: might be. I promise he was not born on this
- 16:00Speaker 1: not walking this planet right now, not even I thought
- 16:03Speaker 1: he's not bar I love it. Teammate kJ Wright total
- 16:06Speaker 1: ten tackles. They moved to the fourth place on the
- 16:08Speaker 1: all time list with seven hundred and eighty four, passing
- 16:12Speaker 1: Joe Nash. This has to be the best linebacker duo
- 16:15Speaker 1: in Seahak history, don't. I don't think it's close. I mean,
- 16:18Speaker 1: we've had some really good linebackers, but it's the level
- 16:21Speaker 1: of consistency year in and year out in the production
- 16:24Speaker 1: from them that's unmatched. And they're both just solid people.
- 16:27Speaker 1: Oh yeah, all right, we're gonna go to the receiver
- 16:29Speaker 1: round up. Like mentioned, Tyler Lockett had six catches for
- 16:32Speaker 1: one hundred yards off of six targets. David Moore had
- 16:35Speaker 1: a catch one cast for twenty three, but it was
- 16:37Speaker 1: a nice twenty three. It was a nice little yack.
- 16:39Speaker 1: He ran a hitch, made a guy miss, puts his
- 16:41Speaker 1: foot in the ground, shake tapare gets up field, shows
- 16:44Speaker 1: his explosiveness. Molie Turner also had a nice little running
- 16:48Speaker 1: catch one cast for twenty one yards. Jacob Hollister the
- 16:50Speaker 1: tight end the hopefully the replacement for this They had
- 16:53Speaker 1: two catches for eighteen. Like mentioned, DK had three catches,
- 16:56Speaker 1: only thirteen yards, but two huge touchdowns. Luke Wilson always
- 17:00Speaker 1: gets a catch. It seems like he's gonna get at
- 17:02Speaker 1: least one one for seven. Chris Carson had no targets.
- 17:05Speaker 1: That's the receiver round up for you there, So now
- 17:08Speaker 1: moving into coaches corner, We're gonna talk about one of
- 17:11Speaker 1: DK Metcalfs is touchdown. It was second and goal on
- 17:14Speaker 1: the Atlanta fourth. This is how I went down. Medcalf
- 17:17Speaker 1: and Lockett in a tight slot on the left side.
- 17:19Speaker 1: Quick snap to Russell, Who's gonna throw inside? Touchdown Seahawks
- 17:24Speaker 1: K Metcalf. Hawks got right up to the line of scrimmage.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Quick snap count by Russell, and Metcalf was right in
- 17:31Speaker 1: the middle of the field, all by his lonesome from
- 17:34Speaker 1: four yards out. The Seahawks lead the Falcons NA nothing.
- 17:38Speaker 1: That is a great job by Russell. Wilson. I always
- 17:41Speaker 1: think of Aaron Rodgers when when players are our teams
- 17:44Speaker 1: do this that hurry of the defense as ready. Aaron
- 17:46Speaker 1: Rodgers does it all the time. Oh, great adjustment by
- 17:49Speaker 1: DK Metcalf. I talked to Pete. He said he was
- 17:51Speaker 1: on a stick. Right, he could have win, left, could
- 17:52Speaker 1: have win right. Um Russell got to the line, hurried
- 17:54Speaker 1: him up. Just a savvy veteran v MVP type play
- 17:58Speaker 1: right there. Well, when you look at it, Russells were
- 18:00Speaker 1: a second official walks away. You have about four or
- 18:03Speaker 1: five defensive linemen for the Falcons standing up standing straight up,
- 18:06Speaker 1: not in the stands, the secondaries kind of looking around,
- 18:09Speaker 1: what's the call? And like you said, just the savvy
- 18:11Speaker 1: nature to be like, okay, we got something. And DCA's
- 18:13Speaker 1: a young guy to not just run the route he
- 18:15Speaker 1: was supposed to run. The jests on the fly get
- 18:18Speaker 1: open and Russell finds him easy money, like taking candy
- 18:21Speaker 1: from a baby, like taking a passive higher right day,
- 18:26Speaker 1: all right, the best thing we saw. The Seahawks once
- 18:28Speaker 1: again did what they do and approved to four and
- 18:29Speaker 1: oh on the road awesome, proved to an NFL record
- 18:32Speaker 1: fifty four and oh when leading him by four or
- 18:35Speaker 1: more at halftime. Imagine so fifty four and one, leading
- 18:38Speaker 1: by four seven and oh when the opposing quarterback throughs
- 18:42Speaker 1: for four hundred yards. So I just say we let
- 18:43Speaker 1: him throw for four hundreds, go up by fourth to
- 18:45Speaker 1: a half, and we're good to go. Automatic. Never was game,
- 18:48Speaker 1: never lose game. Only three n NFC teams have a
- 18:51Speaker 1: better record than the Seahawks. The forty nine Ers are undefeated,
- 18:54Speaker 1: the Packers and the Saints six and two. On to
- 18:58Speaker 1: the next Like where we're going, got the Bucks coming
- 19:00Speaker 1: into town? Next week? That is it, folks, is Michael
- 19:03Speaker 1: bumps with my guy, my producer, National Toby. That's a
- 19:06Speaker 1: Seahawks recap edition. The Hawks win twenty seven to twenty
- 19:10Speaker 1: down to atl We'll see you next time.
