- 0:16Speaker 1: Welcome in to Jags.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Ay and Sam Kadannie Stevens, Brian Sexav and John Osier
- 0:19Speaker 2: are with me today. As OTAs continue in week two.
- 0:22Speaker 2: There's also a blockbuster deal going down in the NFL,
- 0:25Speaker 2: so let's talk about all of it. We'll go over
- 0:27Speaker 2: our big things today. All this brought to you by publics.
- 0:29Speaker 2: We're shopping is a pleasure. Big thing Number one going
- 0:31Speaker 2: to be a blockbuster. We're not talking about Jaguars to start,
- 0:34Speaker 2: because a huge deal going down yesterday. Brian Miles Garrett
- 0:37Speaker 2: is headed to the Los Angeles Rams a twenty twenty
- 0:40Speaker 2: seven first round pick, and Youred Verse are headed back
- 0:42Speaker 2: to Cleveland.
- 0:44Speaker 1: It's always a big deal when the Rams.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Are kind of involved, and clearly they you know, FM
- 0:48Speaker 2: picks sending them off. But to get one of the
- 0:50Speaker 2: best players in the NFL.
- 0:52Speaker 3: Well, listen, I mean, who was surprised by this? This is
- 0:53Speaker 3: what the Rams do. They always swing for big things
- 0:56Speaker 3: and it's worked out from them. Won a championship with
- 0:58Speaker 3: Matt Staffords, a quarter of back in Jalen Ramsey was
- 1:02Speaker 3: a guy. They gave two first round picks to the
- 1:03Speaker 3: Jaguars for look, if you're the league, John you gotta
- 1:06Speaker 3: love this. I mean, this is one of the marquee players,
- 1:08Speaker 3: even though he was sort of lost in Cleveland, has
- 1:11Speaker 3: the sack record, going to play with Matt Stafford, the
- 1:14Speaker 3: reigning MVP on a team that, I mean, other than Seattle,
- 1:18Speaker 3: was probably the best team in football last year at
- 1:20Speaker 3: the bright lights in that stadium in Los Angeles. I
- 1:22Speaker 3: mean that this is the league is all about this.
- 1:25Speaker 4: They love this, yeah, and it's I got some questions
- 1:28Speaker 4: about why didn't the Jaguars make this move? And look,
- 1:32Speaker 4: I'm sure fans of every team Sant White used to
- 1:34Speaker 4: make this moves. It's a little bit timing thing for
- 1:37Speaker 4: the Rams. Stafford has reached that point at thirty eight,
- 1:40Speaker 4: where he is in the one year at a time
- 1:42Speaker 4: stage of his career. I'm not saying they won't be
- 1:46Speaker 4: good once he leaves, because they've been consistently good, but
- 1:49Speaker 4: it is a little bit of a chip saw in
- 1:51Speaker 4: for right now. They need to figure out a way
- 1:52Speaker 4: to get past Seattle. It's not surprising that the Rams
- 1:56Speaker 4: do it this way, but I don't I don't think
- 1:59Speaker 4: it would have been the right move for the Jaguars
- 2:02Speaker 4: to make getting rid of future picks mortgaging things for
- 2:06Speaker 4: right now, the Rams are in that.
- 2:08Speaker 3: And other looking it's easy to mortgage things when you're
- 2:11Speaker 3: that close to the top of the NFL and revenue.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Right the Dallas Cowboys are number one in revenue one
- 2:17Speaker 3: point two billion dollars last year, and the only thing
- 2:20Speaker 3: you've even close right now is the La Rams. They've
- 2:22Speaker 3: got the kind of cash flow in Los Angeles, in
- 2:25Speaker 3: the nation's number two market where they can swing for
- 2:27Speaker 3: things because if they make mistakes, they can kind of
- 2:30Speaker 3: overcome it with their cash. It helps them structure the cap.
- 2:33Speaker 2: It's worked out for them before, so clearly they're feeling
- 2:35Speaker 2: comfortable trying to do it again.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Let's got our big thing number.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Two back here in Jacksonville back in the mix. Travis
- 2:40Speaker 2: Hunter has been participating in OTAs throughout. We actually heard
- 2:43Speaker 2: from him for the first time in a while. Most notably,
- 2:46Speaker 2: he's looking a little bit stronger than when we saw
- 2:48Speaker 2: him last.
- 2:50Speaker 3: I feel a lot stronger. It wasn't though focused.
- 2:52Speaker 5: It was me going in there and getting my overall
- 2:54Speaker 5: body right and just getting in shape and continue to
- 2:57Speaker 5: just I could have run, so yeah, wait with my
- 3:00Speaker 5: best friend. Then to let out some anger because I can't.
- 3:02Speaker 5: I ain't have much his feet.
- 3:03Speaker 2: So Johnny couldn't run around, so he went and lifted
- 3:06Speaker 2: the weights instead. He's also spending a lot of time
- 3:08Speaker 2: in those virtual meeting rooms, trying to focus on the
- 3:11Speaker 2: playbook as much as he can until he can get
- 3:13Speaker 2: out there one hundred percent physically.
- 3:15Speaker 4: Yeah, Look, anything he does is a big story. It's
- 3:19Speaker 4: not unusual for a player who is hurt with the
- 3:22Speaker 4: knee in today's NFL to take the approach that Travis
- 3:26Speaker 4: is taking. But he's Travis Hunters, so we're all going
- 3:28Speaker 4: to talk about it. So he has been in the
- 3:31Speaker 4: virtual room. It's a big deal in terms of virtual reps.
- 3:35Speaker 4: That's very, very good, and he's bigger, so he's also
- 3:39Speaker 4: as we've all seen at OTA's, he's he's participated as
- 3:42Speaker 4: much as he can. He's in the he's in the
- 3:45Speaker 4: huddle until the huddle breaks offensively, and then he's sort
- 3:48Speaker 4: of backing out. He's trying to get as much done
- 3:49Speaker 4: as he can. Look, his approach is exactly right, Brian,
- 3:53Speaker 4: So we'll see what happens on the field next year.
- 3:55Speaker 3: The guy loves ball, I mean, there's no doubt about it.
- 3:57Speaker 3: And he doesn't worry about what anybody says. He just
- 4:00Speaker 3: likes to be out on the field. I will say
- 4:02Speaker 3: when I met him guy in Green Bay during the
- 4:04Speaker 3: draft process last year, my first thought was, he's not
- 4:09Speaker 3: very big, right, And you don't have to be a
- 4:11Speaker 3: giant or all muscled up to be able to be
- 4:14Speaker 3: a very good player in this league. But you know,
- 4:16Speaker 3: when you're as slender as one hundred and eighty five pounds,
- 4:20Speaker 3: I saw a guy that I thought needed to get bigger,
- 4:22Speaker 3: so I am My ears perked up when I heard
- 4:25Speaker 3: him say how productive his time in the gym was,
- 4:28Speaker 3: because even a little bit more strength just makes him
- 4:31Speaker 3: all that much better.
- 4:33Speaker 2: I think one of the other stories are positives out
- 4:35Speaker 2: of Otay's we've seen is our third big thing, which
- 4:37Speaker 2: is mentality shift. Another player that looks a little bit bigger,
- 4:39Speaker 2: looks a little bit stronger, is Brian Thomas Junior, and
- 4:41Speaker 2: he talked at practice yesterday about how he's had a
- 4:44Speaker 2: bit of a mentality shift.
- 4:46Speaker 6: Just coming out here trying to be the best that
- 4:48Speaker 6: I can be, putting my best foot for each and
- 4:50Speaker 6: every day. Just continue to stay motivated, don't let anything
- 4:54Speaker 6: in the way of anything in the way of the
- 4:55Speaker 6: I don't let the downs get in the way of that.
- 4:57Speaker 6: Whatever you got going on in life, whether there's I
- 5:00Speaker 6: outside of football and football, just don't let don't let
- 5:02Speaker 6: that stop you control of your mindset, the way you
- 5:05Speaker 6: think about things. So yeah, I would say, yeah, I
- 5:09Speaker 6: wake up motivating the every day and I try not
- 5:10Speaker 6: to let anything get in the.
- 5:11Speaker 4: Way of that.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Brian, he sounded a little bit different talking to him,
- 5:15Speaker 2: and he talked about, you know, how good he feels,
- 5:17Speaker 2: feels healthy for once, and also just what we've seen
- 5:20Speaker 2: from him on the practice field. Chemistry with Trevor Lawrence
- 5:22Speaker 2: is there, and it's a very stark difference from what
- 5:24Speaker 2: we saw during off season and training camp last year.
- 5:27Speaker 4: It is.
- 5:27Speaker 3: And I'm listening to him, I'm hearing the other side
- 5:30Speaker 3: of Travis Hunter, right, I mean, Travis Hunters dialed in
- 5:33Speaker 3: on the game so strong, and Brian's already a big,
- 5:37Speaker 3: strong guy, John, and now you take him and anything
- 5:39Speaker 3: that dials him in even closer to where he needs
- 5:42Speaker 3: to be, that taps into that talent and potential that
- 5:45Speaker 3: we saw from him as a rookie. Anything at all
- 5:49Speaker 3: takes his physical skills that were already there and makes
- 5:52Speaker 3: them that much more potent for Trevor Lawrence and Liam
- 5:54Speaker 3: Cohen in the offense.
- 5:55Speaker 4: Yeah, he's a big story right now. He's had a
- 5:58Speaker 4: really good couple of OTAs that we've able to see.
- 6:02Speaker 4: It just strikes me from thinking about Brian Thomas Junior
- 6:05Speaker 4: last couple of days, how attainable his goal is, meaning,
- 6:11Speaker 4: you know, to get better and to really contribute to
- 6:14Speaker 4: this offense.
- 6:15Speaker 1: He didn't need to do much because he did it
- 6:17Speaker 1: last year.
- 6:18Speaker 4: He didn't do it to the extreme numbers that he
- 6:20Speaker 4: did as a rookie, but he had seven hundred yards receiving.
- 6:23Speaker 4: If he's a little more involved downfield, if he's a
- 6:28Speaker 4: little bit more of a threat, if he holds onto
- 6:31Speaker 4: a couple early that he didn't hold onto last year,
- 6:35Speaker 4: it's almost like there's something in the water. Stand well,
- 6:37Speaker 4: he can never get back to being an eleven twelve
- 6:39Speaker 4: hundred yard guy. I don't know what his numbers are
- 6:42Speaker 4: gonna be, but it's I it's not a reach at
- 6:44Speaker 4: all to think that he's a big factor for this
- 6:47Speaker 4: offense last I mean this season and kai I'd be
- 6:51Speaker 4: surprised if he's not. At this point. It it feels
- 6:54Speaker 4: like good stuff is brewing for him right now.
- 6:56Speaker 2: It does, and I feel like the coaching staff has
- 6:58Speaker 2: been very vocal. Hear from them a little bit later
- 7:00Speaker 2: about being happy with what they've seen out of Brian
- 7:03Speaker 2: Thomas Junior as well so far in off season.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Programming Saleth here.
- 7:06Speaker 2: We'll give you more on our Ota takeaways coming up
- 7:08Speaker 2: after the break.
- 7:20Speaker 7: But haveing depth and competition at every position was something
- 7:24Speaker 7: that we were trying to do with the draft, and
- 7:28Speaker 7: I think ultimately you're seeing guys practice harder and play
- 7:32Speaker 7: harder and compete harder. And look, when your safety room
- 7:36Speaker 7: is that deep and you have a lot of competition
- 7:38Speaker 7: at that position, knowing where the league is, you know,
- 7:41Speaker 7: somewhat trending in ways with some of the heavier personnel groupings,
- 7:45Speaker 7: and what do you need to do to combat that,
- 7:47Speaker 7: as well as having special teams, you know, emphasis with
- 7:51Speaker 7: that big athletic body type. And then at the defensive
- 7:55Speaker 7: line positions, you know you're you're constantly looking for guys
- 7:59Speaker 7: that can disrupt, but also special teams. Again, right comes
- 8:03Speaker 7: up and shows up to where you need to make
- 8:06Speaker 7: sure the way that you're building the roster when you're
- 8:10Speaker 7: trying to get hats on game day. If they can
- 8:13Speaker 7: only play defense or only do this one thing, it
- 8:17Speaker 7: makes it a lot harder to get a hat on
- 8:19Speaker 7: game daw Well.
- 8:21Speaker 1: It goes into that roster building.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Liam Cohen talking yesterday about at this time of the year,
- 8:25Speaker 2: they love that depth, they love the competition. But while
- 8:28Speaker 2: you have to play your certain position, you got to
- 8:30Speaker 2: contribute on special teams in other areas as well as
- 8:33Speaker 2: well if you want to make the roster.
- 8:34Speaker 3: You know, That's one of the things that you can
- 8:36Speaker 3: see in OTA right, is how many people can contribute
- 8:40Speaker 3: to the competition. And that's one of the things that
- 8:43Speaker 3: left me thinking that this was a good football team
- 8:46Speaker 3: walking off the last couple of days that we've been
- 8:48Speaker 3: able to watch OTAs. Just the number of good players
- 8:52Speaker 3: down two, three, four spots that are going to compete
- 8:55Speaker 3: in the summer camp.
- 8:56Speaker 4: Yeah, it feels deeper. One thing I do love about
- 9:00Speaker 4: Liam there's rarely an unpadded practice where afterward he doesn't say, oh,
- 9:06Speaker 4: he gotta wait till training. He is about ball and
- 9:10Speaker 4: he wants to see the pads on. He knows this
- 9:14Speaker 4: is important, but every time he talks about it, can't
- 9:17Speaker 4: you just tell that he's waiting for July thirty, So
- 9:20Speaker 4: he's always got that perspective. But it does feel very
- 9:24Speaker 4: much like a deeper team, which is what they wanted
- 9:28Speaker 4: to do a with last year's draft. Having these guys
- 9:30Speaker 4: ready this year's draft, it does feel deeper, and as
- 9:35Speaker 4: he said, we'll find out if it's deep once they
- 9:37Speaker 4: put the pads on in.
- 9:38Speaker 3: August, and there were a lot of younger players that
- 9:40Speaker 3: were working their way up and playing with different groups.
- 9:42Speaker 3: Yesterday on the field, young guys playing with starters just
- 9:45Speaker 3: to give him reps. I thought that was fun to watch.
- 9:47Speaker 1: It was.
- 9:47Speaker 2: I think we had the first Ota open one was
- 9:52Speaker 2: after jagsam last week, so we got to kind of
- 9:54Speaker 2: have a week that we looked at them and then
- 9:56Speaker 2: we saw them again yesterday on Monday of this week
- 9:58Speaker 2: was Ota number four. So Parker Washington talked to me
- 10:02Speaker 2: last week and he talked a little bit about his
- 10:05Speaker 2: mentality as he heads into a contract year.
- 10:08Speaker 8: Just stay in detailed, staying intentional with how I attack
- 10:11Speaker 8: each day. I mean, that's the mindset, you know. I
- 10:14Speaker 8: mean it didn't start off with me having all these opportunities,
- 10:18Speaker 8: so I had to find a way to continue to
- 10:20Speaker 8: get better. Knowing that I probably wasn't gonna get the opportunities.
- 10:23Speaker 8: So just with that, I mean, I just feel like
- 10:25Speaker 8: it's just a cherry on top.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Now.
- 10:26Speaker 8: I just get the more opportunities to go out there
- 10:29Speaker 8: and be who I want to be, be who I
- 10:31Speaker 8: know I can be, and just.
- 10:32Speaker 4: Have fun with it.
- 10:34Speaker 2: John Parker had an amazing training camp last year. Clearly
- 10:37Speaker 2: he's motivated heading into a contract year. I'm sure they
- 10:39Speaker 2: love to sign him before that, but you know, if
- 10:42Speaker 2: he has to go in there and prove it this year,
- 10:43Speaker 2: I'm sure he's more than happy to do that.
- 10:45Speaker 4: Yeah, And look, OTAs are hard to judge, but you
- 10:51Speaker 4: can over time, over a long period of time, and
- 10:56Speaker 4: Ata's get a feel for different players, especially wide receivers.
- 11:00Speaker 4: To me, he looks just like he didn't training camp
- 11:01Speaker 4: last year. He's I don't want to draw conclusions off
- 11:07Speaker 4: unpadded practices, but since we saw it last year and
- 11:11Speaker 4: we saw his pattern before it started, He's just always
- 11:17Speaker 4: gets better. He's just a good pro football player. And
- 11:21Speaker 4: you see why during these practices, and I guess what
- 11:25Speaker 4: I'm getting at. He never takes plays off. He's always
- 11:27Speaker 4: working amazingly. He has turned himself into a core player well,
- 11:33Speaker 4: it's a remarkable ascension, which is what you want from
- 11:36Speaker 4: late round picks.
- 11:37Speaker 3: Bran, the quarterback knows where he's at right. I thought
- 11:40Speaker 3: his biggest catch last season was the first first down
- 11:43Speaker 3: of the game in Denver where Trevor was rolling to
- 11:47Speaker 3: his left and they would maybe it was the third
- 11:48Speaker 3: series and they were beating their heads against a great
- 11:51Speaker 3: defense in Denver, and then he just let it fly
- 11:54Speaker 3: back across the field because he trusted Parker Washington and
- 11:56Speaker 3: I felt like that was the moment where everything sort
- 11:59Speaker 3: of opened up and things started to flow. I know
- 12:01Speaker 3: he had big touchdown catches, but that was one that
- 12:04Speaker 3: stood out to me, and that's who he is. And
- 12:06Speaker 3: even out here on the practice field, John, you could
- 12:08Speaker 3: see that the quarterback when Brian isn't there, when Jacobe
- 12:11Speaker 3: isn't there, he knows he locks on to where is eleven,
- 12:15Speaker 3: and eleven always comes down with the ball.
- 12:17Speaker 4: Yep. It's almost like with Parker and I maybe guilty
- 12:20Speaker 4: of this too, because we know how he came in
- 12:22Speaker 4: as this as a draft pick, and then he didn't
- 12:25Speaker 4: really earn his way into the line, or didn't get
- 12:26Speaker 4: a chance to until last year. So there's always this
- 12:29Speaker 4: feeling of Oh, look at him, he's surprising us again,
- 12:32Speaker 4: Like every game that he does something, Oh, he's surprising
- 12:34Speaker 4: us again. Well, that's not the right perception of it anymore.
- 12:39Speaker 4: Now it's oh, he's a reason the Jaguars are thirteen
- 12:42Speaker 4: to four, Like he's one of the guys that they
- 12:46Speaker 4: build this thing on. So it's you know, Kai and
- 12:50Speaker 4: I talk about it all the time in the press box.
- 12:51Speaker 4: Every time you look up, he makes a play and
- 12:54Speaker 4: you're like, there he is doing it again, And I
- 12:57Speaker 4: guess it's time to stop being surprised when that happens.
- 13:01Speaker 4: He's a guy.
- 13:01Speaker 3: He did it when he robbed this year in Cleveland's
- 13:04Speaker 3: sixth round pick, coming off of a broken foot that
- 13:06Speaker 3: slowed him down, and he was the guy that day
- 13:08Speaker 3: where Trevor couldn't move.
- 13:10Speaker 2: We talk about people at this time of the year
- 13:11Speaker 2: earning their way through special teams, but he's done on
- 13:13Speaker 2: punt returns.
- 13:14Speaker 1: That's what got him a lot of that playing time.
- 13:16Speaker 1: And he's had huge special teams plays.
- 13:18Speaker 4: Yeah, and I'm looking he's one of the intriguing storylines
- 13:23Speaker 4: next year. Is he a guy meaning an eleven hundred
- 13:28Speaker 4: yard nine not ten touchdown guys? I think he can
- 13:31Speaker 4: be depending on how they split the be targets.
- 13:34Speaker 1: I'll head to the defensive side of the ball.
- 13:36Speaker 2: I think what is kind of cool about this time
- 13:37Speaker 2: of year is you see the coaches getting really hands on.
- 13:40Speaker 2: Even the coordinators are able to do that at this
- 13:43Speaker 2: time of year. Anthony Campanile, defensive coordinator, doesn't always get
- 13:47Speaker 2: to work as individually as he was like, but I
- 13:49Speaker 2: saw him with the defensive backs yesterday getting into it
- 13:52Speaker 2: and he loves to, you know, be a football coach.
- 13:54Speaker 2: And he talked after practice about the mentality that's really
- 13:57Speaker 2: important to them on defense.
- 14:00Speaker 9: About just the mentality of your defense, Like if people
- 14:03Speaker 9: are going to be able to run the ball on it,
- 14:04Speaker 9: you know, it's a long day, and what that does
- 14:07Speaker 9: to a team psychologically in a game, it can be
- 14:12Speaker 9: really really bad. You know. Defensively, that's great, Like, hey,
- 14:14Speaker 9: guys make some plays in the past game, and obviously
- 14:17Speaker 9: you're always trying to.
- 14:18Speaker 3: Do a great job there.
- 14:18Speaker 9: But I think there is a physical hide that comes
- 14:21Speaker 9: for offensive players when they're ab to run the ball
- 14:23Speaker 9: at the defense, and for us on defense, you know,
- 14:26Speaker 9: that's something that you're always trying to counteract. You know,
- 14:29Speaker 9: the physicality and staying square. Doing your job in a
- 14:33Speaker 9: run game and defenses is built on trust, you know,
- 14:36Speaker 9: and we say in our room, trust comes and drops
- 14:39Speaker 9: and it's lost in buckets. So you know, if you're
- 14:41Speaker 9: doing your job every day, you develop a trust and
- 14:44Speaker 9: appreciation of love for each other. But when you have
- 14:46Speaker 9: guys that don't do their job, trust can be gone
- 14:49Speaker 9: pretty quickly.
- 14:51Speaker 1: As we know.
- 14:51Speaker 2: I listen to Camp talk all day, but when he
- 14:53Speaker 2: talks about his philosophy on defense, they're the best run
- 14:56Speaker 2: stopping team last year. It's what they hang their hat
- 14:58Speaker 2: on that's going to be the core of it. But
- 15:00Speaker 2: also building that trust within the defense on the back
- 15:03Speaker 2: end as well. Yes they gotta stop the run, but
- 15:05Speaker 2: also not at the expense of the past. John, I
- 15:08Speaker 2: think that's a focus at this point, having that trust
- 15:10Speaker 2: even when the new guys coming in.
- 15:12Speaker 4: Yeah, I I'm glad to use that uh sound bite
- 15:16Speaker 4: because everybody who rights me is always talking about s
- 15:21Speaker 4: stopping the pass and getting sacks, and A Camp's exactly right.
- 15:26Speaker 4: It's nice to be able to stop the pass. Uh.
- 15:29Speaker 4: But guess what, sometimes when people throw, they throw them incomplete.
- 15:32Speaker 4: So sometimes if you don't do your job, you can
- 15:34Speaker 4: you can do okay, if you don't stop the run,
- 15:36Speaker 4: They're never gonna stop running, So you do not win
- 15:38Speaker 4: if you don't stop the run. Brian, I think the
- 15:44Speaker 4: secondary is probably the hidden area where this team might
- 15:49Speaker 4: really accelerate next year. Uh, they didn't draft that much
- 15:52Speaker 4: because they didn't have to, adding Travis Hunter, adding Kayla Ransall,
- 15:55Speaker 4: and seeing Antonio Johnson continue to ascend. That's the area
- 15:59Speaker 4: to me where if you're going down those intangible lists
- 16:02Speaker 4: that they used to with the little check marks, Jenwars
- 16:05Speaker 4: might start winning those in the pregame analysis because they
- 16:10Speaker 4: may be significantly better. And they were already good with
- 16:16Speaker 4: their turnovers last year.
- 16:17Speaker 3: So two days. The first thing is you talk about
- 16:19Speaker 3: the secondary, and yesterday Monterek Brown made a play down
- 16:22Speaker 3: the field where he took the ball away. I think
- 16:25Speaker 3: it was from Parker Washington. His game just keeps getting better, right.
- 16:30Speaker 3: I remember when he showed up as a seventh round pick.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Two guys who they let develop and ride themselves, by.
- 16:35Speaker 3: The way, perfect example. He has this chip on his
- 16:38Speaker 3: shoulder and always has and they paid him and here
- 16:42Speaker 3: he is delivering. So everyone you talked about Antonio Johnson
- 16:45Speaker 3: stepped up. Big timeline five interceptions type for the team lead.
- 16:48Speaker 3: I think people always focused on Devin Lloyd and they
- 16:50Speaker 3: didn't pay enough attention to the evolution.
- 16:52Speaker 4: Antonio, another guy in the same vein.
- 16:54Speaker 3: One hundred percent, a guy that comes along there, and
- 16:56Speaker 3: Caleb brandsaw on Travis Hunder all of that, the secondary's
- 16:59Speaker 3: outstand The thing that I like so much about Camp
- 17:02Speaker 3: is that he coaches with the same intensity that he
- 17:04Speaker 3: expect from his players. He coaches with the same mindset
- 17:08Speaker 3: that he wants to see from his players. All that
- 17:10Speaker 3: he talked about is the way that he approaches the game.
- 17:13Speaker 3: His players love him, They love playing for him. It's
- 17:16Speaker 3: so different than the guy who was here before him,
- 17:19Speaker 3: and you can tell that they want to take every
- 17:22Speaker 3: everything they can from him. Tie on the practice field,
- 17:24Speaker 3: I think they know he's going to be a head
- 17:25Speaker 3: coach sooner rather than later, so they are maximizing their
- 17:29Speaker 3: time right now because they know. It's rare that you
- 17:31Speaker 3: have a coach who is that invested in you and
- 17:35Speaker 3: willing to go sell out for you with the scheme.
- 17:38Speaker 3: And I enjoyed because he is terrific. He's going to
- 17:40Speaker 3: be a head coach and be.
- 17:41Speaker 2: A head coach soon soon, very very soon. One quick
- 17:44Speaker 2: other note, what's on the defensive side of football. Trayvon
- 17:47Speaker 2: Walker speaking after practice yesterday as well, and he's finally
- 17:50Speaker 2: healthy again as he battled with a knee injury and
- 17:52Speaker 2: then his hand injury or his wrist injury last season.
- 17:55Speaker 2: He talked a little bit about the developing dynamic in
- 17:58Speaker 2: the d line room.
- 18:00Speaker 10: Great and like I said, and we got a lot
- 18:01Speaker 10: of great Ricky's two that came in that're willing to learn.
- 18:04Speaker 10: I feel like everybody's kind of even the young guys
- 18:07Speaker 10: if they see something in the drills that some guys
- 18:09Speaker 10: might take a step too far inside. Everybody's being very
- 18:12Speaker 10: critical of each other. So I feel like we've kind
- 18:15Speaker 10: of raising that standard in the room itself to where
- 18:18Speaker 10: you don't have to be a veteran to come in
- 18:19Speaker 10: and you know, kind of critique some things, like you've
- 18:22Speaker 10: been playing football for a while, you can critique these
- 18:24Speaker 10: little bit of details in here. So so I feel
- 18:26Speaker 10: like the trajectory in the defensive line room, the chemistry
- 18:29Speaker 10: amongst each other. Everybody's willing to take that coach from anybody.
- 18:32Speaker 2: So if it's going great, right, you're talking about you know,
- 18:35Speaker 2: the new players coming in and contributing as well, and
- 18:38Speaker 2: they are open minded in that way. It's not just hey,
- 18:40Speaker 2: come in, this is how we do it, no matter
- 18:42Speaker 2: what it's They're very open minded to different ideas, and
- 18:44Speaker 2: I feel like that collaboration has helped them be more successful,
- 18:47Speaker 2: at least through the first year of the regime.
- 18:49Speaker 3: You guys are in the locker room all the time.
- 18:51Speaker 3: There's a chemistry on that defense. Those guys want to
- 18:54Speaker 3: win and they have this mindset about everyone else coming
- 18:58Speaker 3: in and contributing. You talk about all the players that
- 19:01Speaker 3: the Jaguars have brought in here and him getting signed
- 19:05Speaker 3: this year to a deal that works for the Jaguars
- 19:08Speaker 3: cap because I think he's a guy who's capable of
- 19:10Speaker 3: making a lot of money to have him. He is
- 19:14Speaker 3: for all the good players there are. I think he's
- 19:16Speaker 3: the rock on this defense around everything else is built
- 19:20Speaker 3: because you can count on him wherever you line him up.
- 19:23Speaker 3: You line him up on the strong side of the
- 19:25Speaker 3: weak side, you put him inside, you put him outside.
- 19:28Speaker 3: If he stays healthy, he is a double digit sack
- 19:30Speaker 3: guy year after year after year. And when he says
- 19:33Speaker 3: he's feeling healthy and good, Jaguars fans should be elated
- 19:37Speaker 3: because he's that good when he is.
- 19:39Speaker 4: Yeah, he's the immovable force. I mean, he's that guy.
- 19:46Speaker 4: A topic yesterday when he spoke to the media was
- 19:49Speaker 4: his grip strength on the hand that he hurt. I
- 19:52Speaker 4: thought it was interesting that he talked about that a
- 19:55Speaker 4: little bit. He was very he talked about it very
- 19:59Speaker 4: you know, uh, vaguely last year's you want to give
- 20:04Speaker 4: anything away. But I sort of asked him, I said,
- 20:07Speaker 4: what's it like when you have your grip strength back?
- 20:09Speaker 4: And it was a stupid question, but that's what I do,
- 20:12Speaker 4: and it was very clear. Think about it. If you're
- 20:15Speaker 4: a defensive end and you're playing like this rather than
- 20:18Speaker 4: being able to do this right, that's a big difference.
- 20:21Speaker 4: So I think that's something that's one of those hidden
- 20:25Speaker 4: things that when fans watch they see Trayvon forty four
- 20:29Speaker 4: out there, Oh well he's out there. He was out there,
- 20:31Speaker 4: but it was like number twenty one or something like.
- 20:35Speaker 4: It wasn't really forty four, but him healthy is a
- 20:40Speaker 4: dramatic difference on what was already a really good defense. Y.
- 20:43Speaker 2: It's interesting cause you can still find ways to trip
- 20:46Speaker 2: people up with a clubhand, even you can't grab at.
- 20:50Speaker 5: That.
- 20:50Speaker 4: It's so easy not to notice that because we see
- 20:53Speaker 4: them from a distance and you don't realize what they're
- 20:55Speaker 4: trying to do out there.
- 20:56Speaker 1: But a defensive end not being able to grab with
- 20:58Speaker 1: one hand is insane.
- 20:59Speaker 3: Just I hadn't really put it all together. But the
- 21:02Speaker 3: defense was really good last year without him being able
- 21:05Speaker 3: to contribute at even fifty percent most of the year.
- 21:08Speaker 3: The hand the knee. People forgot about the knee.
- 21:10Speaker 4: And then found a way at the end of last season.
- 21:13Speaker 4: We always measure in sacks. Yeah, but how many big
- 21:15Speaker 4: plays on fourth and one?
- 21:16Speaker 3: Lots of big playage.
- 21:18Speaker 2: All right, say with here on jags Am, we're going
- 21:20Speaker 2: to talk a little bit about Ozone's mail bag questions,
- 21:22Speaker 2: and you need the answers as well. Welcome back in
- 21:40Speaker 2: the mail bag questions, and John's gonna do his best
- 21:42Speaker 2: to give you.
- 21:43Speaker 1: His why hist answers.
- 21:44Speaker 2: We're going to start out with Charles from Riverside, who says, hello, John,
- 21:48Speaker 2: we have the thirteen personnel package as a new offensive
- 21:51Speaker 2: trend in the NFL. On the defensive side, it may
- 21:53Speaker 2: be the big Nickel package. Is this the response to
- 21:56Speaker 2: the move towards thirteen personnel which players you kind of see.
- 21:59Speaker 1: Is the money back for the Jaguars.
- 22:01Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm not sure that it's a response necessarily, as
- 22:07Speaker 4: the league's sort of evolving in a direction. They're already playing.
- 22:10Speaker 4: Jaguars last year played a lot of three safeties. It's
- 22:14Speaker 4: been it seems like it's been doing that for about
- 22:16Speaker 4: three or four years, where you've started hearing a little
- 22:18Speaker 4: bit more about the big nickel maybe twenty one or
- 22:21Speaker 4: twenty two. So the thirteen personnel is more of a
- 22:25Speaker 4: response to that, meaning teams have noticed that more and
- 22:31Speaker 4: more teams are playing back, and you're maybe twenty percent
- 22:34Speaker 4: of the time NFL teams are in base. So I
- 22:38Speaker 4: think it's more that it's so hard to really define
- 22:42Speaker 4: Brian exactly. You know, Okay, this trend. Now we're doing this.
- 22:46Speaker 4: It's not like there's just one sheet of play, so
- 22:49Speaker 4: there's all sorts of things going on. I do think
- 22:53Speaker 4: defenses will adapt off of this. The Jaguars already have
- 22:57Speaker 4: answers in terms of having three safety looks. I guess
- 23:01Speaker 4: if there's a quote moneybacker, that was a little bit
- 23:03Speaker 4: of a new term to me. I'm not on the
- 23:05Speaker 4: internet that much.
- 23:06Speaker 3: Moneybacker means a guy like Devin Lloyd who has seven takeaways.
- 23:09Speaker 4: I think, well, I think what they're talking about is
- 23:12Speaker 4: more that Antonio Johnson got a little more. Different teams
- 23:19Speaker 4: call it different things. A lot of teams are calling
- 23:22Speaker 4: them hybrids where they don't really have a position. They
- 23:24Speaker 4: can sort of line up with safety outside back or
- 23:26Speaker 4: do a lot of different things. And there's a star
- 23:29Speaker 4: I guess something else people call him. I guess Antonio
- 23:32Speaker 4: Johnson is more that guy than any But it's so
- 23:38Speaker 4: hard in this day and age because everybody still wants
- 23:40Speaker 4: to talk about the depth chart. Yeah, four three four
- 23:44Speaker 4: it it. It really doesn't apply anymore in terms of positions.
- 23:48Speaker 4: So many teams, you are doing so many different things,
- 23:50Speaker 4: so many packages that you would need like four or
- 23:53Speaker 4: five depth charts per teams, and the internet doesn't really
- 23:57Speaker 4: adhere to that sort of structure. Maybe ned an Excel spreadsheet,
- 24:00Speaker 4: a different tabs.
- 24:00Speaker 3: Now, remember there used to be a time where was
- 24:03Speaker 3: you know, do these scheme schemes or do scheme players?
- 24:06Speaker 3: And the scheming of schemes I think is long gone.
- 24:08Speaker 3: I think now you're scheming matchups, which is what you
- 24:10Speaker 3: were saying. If you're scheming schemes, then as well. Thirteen
- 24:13Speaker 3: personnel came about because they were seeing so many nickel
- 24:16Speaker 3: and dime defenses, and so they wanted to get bigger
- 24:18Speaker 3: players against smaller players. But what you're really doing with
- 24:21Speaker 3: a guy like Antonio Johnson is finding a guy that
- 24:23Speaker 3: he can match up with because he's six foot two
- 24:25Speaker 3: and he's got broad shoulders and long arms and can
- 24:29Speaker 3: play against bigger guys. So this is really an issue
- 24:32Speaker 3: to my way of thinking that the league is about
- 24:35Speaker 3: scheming players getting the matchups that you like, as opposed to, well,
- 24:40Speaker 3: they're playing with three tight ends, so we're going to
- 24:42Speaker 3: play with three safeties. It's about where does Antonio Johnson lineup,
- 24:45Speaker 3: How does Ventro Miller fit in with his speed, how
- 24:48Speaker 3: do we play to our strength, our guys strength against.
- 24:52Speaker 4: Their strength, and more and more. In the draft and
- 24:54Speaker 4: lead up to the draft, you hear the analysts talk
- 24:57Speaker 4: about that sort of hybrid player who can go anywhere,
- 25:01Speaker 4: play safety, play linebacker. Probably doesn't even really have a position,
- 25:05Speaker 4: and we're trying to fit him into these old positions. Right,
- 25:08Speaker 4: They're just athletes can go make plays.
- 25:10Speaker 3: Maybe it's the backer that hit in my head, but
- 25:11Speaker 3: I heard moneybacker and I thought well, the guy that
- 25:13Speaker 3: I think can play at a higher level that we
- 25:16Speaker 3: haven't seen is Ben trom with his speed. He hasn't
- 25:19Speaker 3: been able to stay healthy. And then of course Devin
- 25:21Speaker 3: had that amazing year last year. But the guy that
- 25:23Speaker 3: I'm really interested in who can be a matchup problem
- 25:26Speaker 3: for some teams, and with camping Ely's defensive scheme, I
- 25:30Speaker 3: think betro Miller is someone watched too.
- 25:32Speaker 2: I think he'll get that opportunity as well. Johnn you
- 25:34Speaker 2: mentioned the depth chart. Joe from Homer Glenn, Illinois says
- 25:37Speaker 2: he saw quote attributed to Jaguars head coach Liam Cohen
- 25:40Speaker 2: about the running back position being wide open in terms
- 25:42Speaker 2: of the depth chart.
- 25:43Speaker 1: Are depth charts published by the team required?
- 25:46Speaker 2: If so, why who would a mandatory published depth chart
- 25:49Speaker 2: benefit the media or other teams?
- 25:51Speaker 4: Well, look, depth charts are done off season. Nobody doesn't.
- 25:58Speaker 4: They must be published and made available during in the
- 26:03Speaker 4: team's weekly release on Monday during the regular season. Is why? Uh?
- 26:08Speaker 4: As soon as they start doing the unofficial depth chart
- 26:10Speaker 4: in the I think it's the preseason. Foras pre season
- 26:13Speaker 4: it becomes news because oh, all of a sudden, it
- 26:16Speaker 4: it's it's official, unofficial, it it. It says unofficial on
- 26:21Speaker 4: the release, but we take it as official because probably
- 26:24Speaker 4: the team is giving you something. It's usually pretty vague anyway.
- 26:28Speaker 4: So who's a benefit of benefits fans, you know, and
- 26:32Speaker 4: it benefits the media because it it at least takes
- 26:36Speaker 4: away some level of mystery to the process. So how
- 26:40Speaker 4: important is it? Not particularly, but it, uh, it does
- 26:45Speaker 4: provide some structure, and uh, there are times the depth
- 26:49Speaker 4: charts say, okay, well they have him a week side.
- 26:51Speaker 4: Uh officially a lot of times they throw them on
- 26:54Speaker 4: there and they can really play hybrid spots.
- 26:56Speaker 3: I think the only people for whom a depth chart
- 26:58Speaker 3: really matters, cause let's be honest, they they put this
- 27:00Speaker 3: together in a form so that it seems logical to you,
- 27:04Speaker 3: but then they go up and line up in different
- 27:05Speaker 3: formations three wide receivers or three tight ends, and it
- 27:09Speaker 3: doesn't it doesn't matter. It matters to you a broadcaster, right,
- 27:11Speaker 3: a guy who's getting ready for a game, especially in
- 27:14Speaker 3: the preseason with the television, where I need to know
- 27:16Speaker 3: what is this guy left tackle or right tackle or
- 27:19Speaker 3: you know what I mean. For a broadcaster who's getting
- 27:21Speaker 3: ready for a game, the depth chart means something to
- 27:23Speaker 3: everyone else. It's just a way of structuring names and
- 27:25Speaker 3: getting a general idea. Well, this is a really good player,
- 27:28Speaker 3: and this is a young player who's got to get better.
- 27:30Speaker 3: I just I think it's lost. It's it used to
- 27:32Speaker 3: be something that was really important when we were talking
- 27:34Speaker 3: about schemes. Now we're talking about players and they move
- 27:36Speaker 3: guys all over.
- 27:37Speaker 4: Well, back in the old days, you either had a
- 27:39Speaker 4: four to three or three fourth player all the time.
- 27:41Speaker 3: It doesn't matter.
- 27:41Speaker 4: Now you know, there's seven or eight different personnel packages. Oh,
- 27:46Speaker 4: he plays three high safety, he's is he a starter? Well,
- 27:50Speaker 4: he's a starter in his package. Yeah, So you really
- 27:53Speaker 4: I always try to in these days talk in terms
- 27:57Speaker 4: of fourteen fifteen sixteen guys and he sat the ball
- 27:59Speaker 4: can tribute because guess what, you're not cutting your nickel safety,
- 28:03Speaker 4: you know. So that's more the way to look at
- 28:05Speaker 4: depth charts. But that's hard because it's not in the formula.
- 28:09Speaker 2: We still got a couple months til we get one,
- 28:11Speaker 2: so we're gonna make it up until then. Our final
- 28:13Speaker 2: ozone mail bag question is leaned from Wynne Darden says
- 28:16Speaker 2: the slow but steady progress of players such as Sam Donald, Baker,
- 28:20Speaker 2: Mayfield and Trevor Lawrence, do you think the majority of
- 28:22Speaker 2: NFL of the NFL has lost patience in developing NFL quarterbacks?
- 28:27Speaker 4: This is interesting. I without question they have. And yet
- 28:33Speaker 4: now you you wonder, Brian if the trend might come
- 28:38Speaker 4: back around because you've seen this story, right and Baker Mayfield. Uh, Trevor,
- 28:43Speaker 4: I don't know how long two you can develop it.
- 28:47Speaker 4: Daniel Jones, Sam Darnold, Daniel Jones. Now the team, we
- 28:52Speaker 4: have a body of work where these guys have achieved
- 28:56Speaker 4: at a high level after being deemed busts or whatever
- 28:59Speaker 4: that word it is. So now do teams sort of
- 29:02Speaker 4: pull back from that and say, you know what, I've
- 29:03Speaker 4: seen it now I can afford to wait what they
- 29:05Speaker 4: used to do. So definitely they lost patience for a while.
- 29:08Speaker 4: I mean it was ridiculous for a while, and it's
- 29:11Speaker 4: still a quick get out of here. But I think
- 29:15Speaker 4: more and more teams are accepting the idea of, oh,
- 29:18Speaker 4: we can give a guy a second chance, and that's
- 29:19Speaker 4: a legitimate way to go about our quarterback position.
- 29:22Speaker 2: I think it's an interesting question because I don't think
- 29:24Speaker 2: that the people have gotten patient with their draft picks
- 29:27Speaker 2: as much. Yeah, it's more that they'll give someone else
- 29:29Speaker 2: a try.
- 29:31Speaker 4: But you wonder if they might come back and start
- 29:32Speaker 4: giving the draft like guy this team gave Trevor.
- 29:34Speaker 1: You know sure, I think that's a little bit of
- 29:36Speaker 1: a differences.
- 29:37Speaker 4: There were a lot of circumstances with Trevor, but they
- 29:39Speaker 4: could have there were times they could have lost that faith.
- 29:43Speaker 3: I think you look at a guy like Matt Stafford,
- 29:45Speaker 3: who last year was the best quarterback in football forty
- 29:47Speaker 3: six touchdowns right at NFL MVP. He put up big
- 29:50Speaker 3: numbers in Detroit, but he never got Detroit over the hump, right,
- 29:53Speaker 3: I mean, they were never a great team when he
- 29:55Speaker 3: was there. And now what is he going into season
- 29:57Speaker 3: eighteen out there? And so your timeline on quarterbacks is
- 30:01Speaker 3: much longer. Rare is the Peyton Manning who you knew
- 30:03Speaker 3: was going to be a star from the moment that
- 30:05Speaker 3: he came in and he had incredible success and the
- 30:08Speaker 3: Colts started winning and they didn't stop until he left.
- 30:11Speaker 3: It wasn't that way for Stafford, who was really good,
- 30:15Speaker 3: but it wasn't until later in his career. And I
- 30:17Speaker 3: think when you look at a guy like Stafford right now,
- 30:19Speaker 3: you can look at a Trevor Lawrence, a Baker Mayfield,
- 30:22Speaker 3: even Justin Herbert who's been good but hasn't been great
- 30:24Speaker 3: in LA. Right, And if you're sitting in LA and
- 30:27Speaker 3: you're looking at Stafford and you're a charger span, you
- 30:30Speaker 3: can see where because he's big, strong, smart, tough, hard
- 30:34Speaker 3: work or all that, well, maybe he can become Matthew Stafford.
- 30:37Speaker 3: Maybe this incredibly talented guy over time can finally become
- 30:41Speaker 3: that guy.
- 30:41Speaker 2: That's a unique example too, because Jared Goff was their situation.
- 30:44Speaker 2: It's almost like they were both kind of like, we
- 30:46Speaker 2: need more and they just swapped.
- 30:48Speaker 1: And then they both found success in ultimate places.
- 30:50Speaker 3: Don't give up too soon, yeah, And it shows you
- 30:52Speaker 3: there is.
- 30:54Speaker 4: With a quarterback. A lot of the quick give up,
- 31:00Speaker 4: I think is because external pressure becomes so high of
- 31:05Speaker 4: you know, there's so much outside noise when a guy
- 31:07Speaker 4: doesn't come in, and it's almost like there's this eighteen
- 31:10Speaker 4: or nineteen game window that they have. They have a rookie.
- 31:13Speaker 4: If they struggle as a rookie, then in the first month,
- 31:15Speaker 4: if you're not doing it, all of a sudden, the
- 31:17Speaker 4: fans say, oh, he's a bus. He's a bus. He's
- 31:19Speaker 4: a bus because look so and so did it, so teams.
- 31:22Speaker 4: It's hard for teams to push through that noise. Great
- 31:28Speaker 4: franchises can do it. Stable franchises can do it. Franchises
- 31:31Speaker 4: that are looking for answers have more trouble with that.
- 31:33Speaker 4: So I think it's still gonna be team to team,
- 31:36Speaker 4: but more Ky's points the best one teams are much
- 31:39Speaker 4: more willing to give second chances.
- 31:41Speaker 2: Absolutely say those here on jag Zam after the break
- 31:44Speaker 2: will tell you what's coming up the rest of the week.
- 31:47Speaker 1: It's time to take this season to the next level.
- 31:49Speaker 2: The Jaguars return to the bank this year in twenty
- 31:51Speaker 2: twenty six, become a season ticket member and unlock exclusive
- 31:54Speaker 2: access to ticket and events members only experiences and be
- 31:57Speaker 2: a priority for Stadium of the Future and had to
- 32:00Speaker 2: bring Jaguars dot Com slash tickets to secure your spot
- 32:03Speaker 2: for all of the action.
- 32:06Speaker 7: I've been very pleased with the way that he has
- 32:08Speaker 7: attacked this offseason, the way that he takes the meeting
- 32:12Speaker 7: room to the practice, you know, and how that's looked.
- 32:15Speaker 7: We're being a little bit more intentional about usage and
- 32:18Speaker 7: chemistry with him this spring and trying to get a
- 32:22Speaker 7: true connection that we didn't quite have last spring or
- 32:24Speaker 7: last training camp, if you will. So I've been very
- 32:27Speaker 7: pleased with how he's taken the things that we asked
- 32:30Speaker 7: him to do to get better at and to be
- 32:33Speaker 7: intentional about those reps. But you know, I know everybody's ah,
- 32:37Speaker 7: you know, it's down year and Fantasy and this, that
- 32:40Speaker 7: and the third. I mean, when you're on a good team,
- 32:43Speaker 7: I think that typically matters a little bit more.
- 32:46Speaker 2: I'm going talking a little bit about Brian Thomas Junior
- 32:48Speaker 2: working on his chemistry with Trevor Lawrence. So she said
- 32:51Speaker 2: after Fantasy Team miss he just wants to win this.
- 32:54Speaker 4: That and the third and exactly right. And look, BTJ
- 32:59Speaker 4: did have some issues early last season, but as earlier
- 33:04Speaker 4: in the show, I think he's got a real opportunity
- 33:08Speaker 4: and with a pressure off maybe, I mean, you know,
- 33:11Speaker 4: last year, living up to the rookie year, I don't
- 33:13Speaker 4: think it's gonna be very hard for him to I
- 33:16Speaker 4: don't know what expectations are, but I don't think it's
- 33:18Speaker 4: it's very hard at off for him to meet what
- 33:21Speaker 4: they want and what he wants, which is major improvement
- 33:25Speaker 4: and to be a real threat in this offense.
- 33:27Speaker 3: I think the threat part of it is the most
- 33:29Speaker 3: interesting part because when he's producing, even at a modicum
- 33:34Speaker 3: of what he did as a rookie, right, even is
- 33:36Speaker 3: a fraction of that. When he's getting down the field
- 33:38Speaker 3: and making a big catch a game man, that creates
- 33:41Speaker 3: all sorts of mismatches across the field, all sorts of
- 33:44Speaker 3: defensive schemes that have to adjust to one player in
- 33:48Speaker 3: Jacobe Myers. And here comes Parker Washington and Brenton Strange
- 33:51Speaker 3: and makes youll tooting out of the backfield. And there's
- 33:53Speaker 3: a lot of places where the Jaguars will benefit by
- 33:56Speaker 3: Brian Thomas Junior just being on the field. But now
- 33:59Speaker 3: if he's product, they've been getting back to where he was.
- 34:02Speaker 3: It just seems like it's pushing all your chips in.
- 34:04Speaker 4: And I think fantasy football skews analysis a lot of
- 34:10Speaker 4: times that you dull right. It's a league of big
- 34:13Speaker 4: plays and big moments. When you look back on Jaguars
- 34:16Speaker 4: big moments last year, Yeah, BTJ had a lot of
- 34:19Speaker 4: Kansas City. They'll bea Kansas City without him. The Raiders
- 34:22Speaker 4: where he got hurt, he had some big moments. The
- 34:25Speaker 4: offense is a little different without him on the field.
- 34:29Speaker 2: UH. For this week, OTAs continue we want to preview
- 34:32Speaker 2: by this time. Next week it will be Mini camp.
- 34:34Speaker 2: John which mini camp the next step it is.
- 34:38Speaker 4: I it is different because it has a different name
- 34:41Speaker 4: and it's mandatory, right.
- 34:43Speaker 3: I'm lost as that next week already or the week.
- 34:45Speaker 1: Yeah, so it's a little bit different.
- 34:46Speaker 2: I wanted to bring up the schedule because normally they
- 34:48Speaker 2: do ten OTAs and then they do Mini camp, but
- 34:50Speaker 2: this year they're doing I think six or seven OTAs,
- 34:53Speaker 2: then Mini Camp and then the rest of the OTAs.
- 34:56Speaker 4: Yeah, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, next week minicamp and differences getting aside,
- 35:01Speaker 4: the media and coverage is every day that week, so
- 35:05Speaker 4: people who are consuming copy and trying to keep up
- 35:08Speaker 4: with it, there will be a different vibe next week.
- 35:11Speaker 2: Yes, so we'll have you covered all of those days
- 35:13Speaker 2: of course, and first day is going to be next
- 35:14Speaker 2: Tuesday when we have jag Zams.
- 35:16Speaker 1: We'll give you a live look at that as well.
- 35:18Speaker 1: Enjoy OTAs this week. We'll see you next week for minicamps.
