- 0:05Hi everybody. Welcome back to the space news.
- 0:07Paw, this is a show about SpaceX NASA and space flight.
- 0:10I'm your host will Walden. And on this episode we're going
- 0:13to be talking a little bit about Starbase.
- 0:15We're going to be talking about inspiration for and we're going
- 0:18to be talking about starlink we're going to be talking about
- 0:21Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk as well, but first and foremost, I
- 0:26need some help. One I need you guys to give this
- 0:30video a thumbs up but also I need your help in the comments
- 0:34because I'm going to be leaving for Starbase in a couple days
- 0:37and I need your ideas for snacks along the way.
- 0:41I have my favorites, right? I have beef jerky, which is my
- 0:44favorite thing to eat on road trips.
- 0:47Have a bunch of water. That's all I got so far.
- 0:50Just beef jerky in water. I'm going to make sandwiches and
- 0:53things like that, too. But other snacks like little
- 0:55things to snack on along the Way.
- 0:58So let me know in the comments, what you would suggest for
- 1:02snacks for the road trip to Starbase and I'll film
- 1:05everything to. That's another part of this
- 1:07thing. I'm going to be filming my whole
- 1:08trip and then I'll release a video.
- 1:11I'm going to try to do it every night that I'm on the road, but
- 1:13I'm not sure if that's going to happen because it's a lot of a
- 1:16lot of driving. And by the time, I hit the hotel
- 1:18room, I might be dead tired and I might not be able to edit this
- 1:22stuff, so might get it. When I get there or we might get
- 1:25it along the way. So make sure to let me know.
- 1:28Think about snacks. Now, speaking of snacks, so
- 1:33horrible transition, sorry about that but there's some there's
- 1:38some news going on on Highway 4 over here at SpaceX is Starbase
- 1:42Cameron, County Highway for closure was canceled today on
- 1:47Thursday but Friday. Close your scheduled from 7:30
- 1:51a.m. to 10:30 a.m. okay. That's open Hardware.
- 1:57NG booster move and possibly are.
- 2:00What are we going to see on the on the highway this weekend?
- 2:03And then we also have Tuesday, September 7th as well, so I'll
- 2:07still be on the road. I won't be there yet.
- 2:09I'm going to get there on the 10th.
- 2:10So I'll miss this one by a couple days, but I'm sevens from
- 2:147:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. So, that's a good four hours of
- 2:21stuff, moving around an hour to get stuff, prepped.
- 2:24There are an hour to move stuff and then three out yet, so we'll
- 2:27see. We'll see.
- 2:27Moves up and down that road on both of those days, tomorrow,
- 2:31Friday, and Saturday or September 7th on Tuesday.
- 2:37So I'm right in the middle of packing everything right now, by
- 2:39the way. So like I have my luggage over
- 2:41there. I have a backpack over there, I
- 2:44have a duffel bag over there. All this computer gear, gets
- 2:47ripped down on Friday, so probably no video on Saturday.
- 2:53That'll be like the final like packing day and hanging out day
- 2:56and then Sunday morning, I'm taking off for Starbase.
- 2:59So check this out. This is a really cool thing that
- 3:03I'm really really really stoked about the inspiration for
- 3:07Mission. This is Falcon 9 News.
- 3:11Look at this. The cupola the we finally get
- 3:15the shots of the cupola of people inside.
- 3:21They look amazing. Like how cool is this?
- 3:25Look how happy they all are. They're all like yeah, what's
- 3:27up? Yeah, we have the biggest
- 3:30window. Yeah, blue origin, can't claim

- 5:41on back plays.com Ilan, backblaze.com Ilan.
- 5:48It's can claim the biggest window for private spaceflight.
- 5:52Like, look at that thing. That's going to be so cool.
- 5:57Could you imagine Imagine being in that thing and looking down
- 5:59like a VIP be positioned. So like this, basically, like
- 6:03this. So Earth is down here.
- 6:07So imagine Earth is the hoop. You're flying over earth and its
- 6:12what then of course, go back down, go back to other.
- 6:19But how cool is that that your that they'll be able to take
- 6:22absolutely amazing video and photos.
- 6:27It's just get to just get to experience that once in a
- 6:31lifetime opportunity. So happy that everyone's going
- 6:35and like to how cool is that. But also guess who's been
- 6:38documenting, this Netflix has been documenting this and it's
- 6:43it looks really cool. And Netflix actually going to be
- 6:46streaming this video. Like In this launch, which is
- 6:51never happened before us. Netflix hasn't stream this
- 6:53before, so they'll be streaming it on YouTube.
- 6:59September 15th. How cool is that?
- 7:01Like what do you think about that?
- 7:02That's cool but they released a trailer for it and it's it's
- 7:07really interesting that they're going to be showing a lot of the
- 7:10behind-the-scenes stuff in it like I watch the trailer and it
- 7:13looks very cool like it looks like people are really enjoying
- 7:17themselves you know the crews really enjoying themselves and
- 7:20learning a lot as they're going to be taking this mission to
- 7:23space and this is the first all civilian space flight.
- 7:29So, it's going to be an emotional thing.
- 7:30I'll probably cry. Just going to be, I'm going to
- 7:33be totally honest with you. I'll probably cry.
- 7:35I'll probably watch the thing and be like, this is the
- 7:37beginning of everything, you know, like this is the stuff
- 7:39that I wanted when I was a kid, so, it's actually happening.
- 7:42So, this is the coolest thing that I've seen in a really long
- 7:47time. So, so pumped about it.
- 7:49And I'm glad that Netflix pick this up in the Thursday actually
- 7:52documentation. I like documentary-style footage
- 7:55in a whole movie about it, so that's going to be Really really
- 7:59rad. Now let's talk about something
- 8:02that's not read, okay? The FCC SpaceX and Amazon.
- 8:10Which Amazon? Come on, dude.
- 8:14Come on. This is what happens with big
- 8:16corporations. If you can't compete with
- 8:18another Corporation, if you can't compete with another
- 8:20company, you try to sue them and that's what Amazon is doing to
- 8:25SpaceX. Okay.
- 8:28This is because SpaceX is launching the second generation
- 8:34of Starling satellites will be much better than the ones
- 8:37currently but Amazon's like hey FCC man, they didn't give you
- 8:41enough information, they aren't ready for this, the world isn't
- 8:44ready for this, so Yeah, there's a few things here.
- 8:51This is from the sheets tweets on Twitter.
- 8:54Amazon's recent missive is unfortunately only the latest in
- 8:58its continuing efforts to slow down competition, while
- 9:01neglecting to resolve. The commission's concerns about
- 9:03Amazon's own, non geostationary orbit satellite system.
- 9:08And I'm laughing because Amazon really hasn't done anything yet.
- 9:11That's all kind of vaporware ish.
- 9:14You know, the cat like they've done a little bit of stuff, but
- 9:17SpaceX has a working model. Shown that they can do this but
- 9:21Amazon is basically saying, no, they can't do this FCC.
- 9:25What do you thinking? You know, what do you think in
- 9:27men? The and this is SpaceX is
- 9:30rebuttal by the way that I'm showing you right here and
- 9:32luckily the sheets tweets like sheets highlighted all the good
- 9:37stuff. But while Amazon is found
- 9:38nothing with the commission to address these conditions on its
- 9:41own license. Nearly 400 Days SpaceX claps
- 9:43back. It took only 42 objective
- 9:46spacex's Next, Generation NGS. Oh, system.
- 9:50I find this stuff. I mean, I don't find it funny
- 9:52but I just find it. Like it's Petty, you know, it's
- 9:56like why would you do this? Just make a better product.
- 9:59That's what capitalism is like, that's what the whole industry
- 10:02is about making better products so people will use them as
- 10:06opposed to being like, just just play with the big boys.
- 10:09You know, I'm saying? It's like, get out of here if
- 10:11you can. Well, I was on his way to 15
- 10:13months to explain how it system works.
- 10:16It has lodged objections to SpaceX on average about Every 16
- 10:20days this year, every 16 days they've had lawsuits or
- 10:27objections, something like that again, SpaceX the commission
- 10:30should recognize this delay tactic for what it is.
- 10:33The continuation of efforts by the Amazon family of companies
- 10:35to hinder competitors to compensate for, Amazon's failure
- 10:39to make progress of its own. Amazon's maneuvering is familiar
- 10:43to anyone who has watched Amazon or its sister companies.
- 10:46Oh, Oh, oh. Oh, that hurt, that hurt.
- 10:53Oh, that was a good like that was like a quick, pam.
- 10:55Pam. Pam that was a jab, but it like,
- 10:57hurt him, really bad, you know, there's one of those things
- 11:00Amazon. Next makes the conclude
- 11:02conclusory. I'm really good at speaking
- 11:06today. That is the commission were to
- 11:08accept SpaceX is amendment. It would encourage speculative
- 11:11applications failed to ensure that the applicant is ready and
- 11:14willing to construct, the satellite proposed in this
- 11:16application. But Amazon cannot explain how
- 11:19providing information to the commission about an alternative
- 11:21configuration would encourage speculation.
- 11:25It's a big brain thinking is Amazon's former Chief Executive
- 11:28has said in the past procedural Maneuvers like the ones, Amazon
- 11:32now, deploys have become the bigger bottle neck than the
- 11:36technology calling out Jeff Bezos, straight up.
- 11:42Jeff basically said hey man if you're just going to put
- 11:46everything in litigation, if you're going to see Everybody.
- 11:48Nothing is going to get done and we don't want that.
- 11:51That's what Jeff Bezos has said. In the past in it he's actually
- 11:55documented saying that and then this is calling him out on that
- 11:58and that's what Amazon is doing here.
- 12:00They're putting it just stopping SpaceX from doing their second
- 12:05generation of Starling satellites so there's a I don't
- 12:10know I'm passionate about this stuff.
- 12:12I think it's pretty cool that SpaceX is doing you know,
- 12:15generation to starlink and Malik is going to change.
- 12:19So many people's lives. That if you think about it, if
- 12:23you want people to have better lives wouldn't you just say you
- 12:26know, at SpaceX do your thing but that's not what it's about
- 12:29here. It's about money, it's about
- 12:31control and it's about having your own satellite web around
- 12:37the earth. You know your cluster is around
- 12:39the Earth and space X is far, far ahead of everybody else so
- 12:42they're trying to slow them down so they can play catch-up.
- 12:46With a product that isn't as good as stare like generation
- 12:49to, so that's exactly what's happening.
- 12:52And this is the best part. Elon Ilan, this is this funny.
- 12:59Ilan tweeted filing legal actions.
- 13:01Against SpaceX is actually his full-time job.
- 13:06Oh man, that's amazing. That's amazing.
- 13:10So a tweet earlier I think Ilan said Jeff Bezos has his job
- 13:18might be to sue Amaterasu SpaceX all the time but now he's like
- 13:25Yeah, it's actually a full-time job this time so we'll see what
- 13:29happens. A pretty sure SpaceX is going to
- 13:32continue on because they have a proven model, they know what
- 13:34they're doing. And if they if anybody needs any
- 13:37information from SpaceX, you know, as far as the FCC is
- 13:41concerned, SpaceX can provide that for them and I'm sure that
- 13:45Amazon is going to be happy about that, right, Amazon.
- 13:48I'll just like back off and say, you know, we were wrong.
- 13:51We were Rock. But now probably everything six
- 13:53weeks from now. They'll probably Also more
- 13:55paperwork and try to slow down SpaceX again, look, man, I want
- 14:00all the companies to do. Well, I'm not on side a side, be
- 14:04one or two, whoever I'm on side, get everything good for
- 14:08everybody, right? Make space cool.
- 14:11Make everybody make Internet available for everybody, but I
- 14:16think these kind of things slow everything down, so I wanted to
- 14:21happen sooner than later. I want people in the middle of
- 14:23nowhere, to be able to have it. Annette access.
- 14:25I want people to learn when they haven't been able to learn
- 14:28before because they don't have internet access.
- 14:30So that's what this is all about.
- 14:33So anyway, that's about it for me today, everybody.
- 14:36Thank you so much for watching and remember to leave the snack
- 14:40comments down below because I need those snacks.
- 14:43Nothing really hot but maybe something really hot.
- 14:46Maybe we could try it out, I don't know.
- 14:48Let me know, let me know in the comments.
- 14:50Thanks everybody take care. Bye bye.
