- 0:00Speaker 1: Here's my clothes remarks. I want to remind everybody I
- 0:03Speaker 1: was Oprah's had been on TV for years talking about
- 0:06Speaker 1: dream boards. And the first time I saw a dream
- 0:11Speaker 1: board was in nineteen seventy four. Friend of mine named
- 0:15Speaker 1: Marvelus Marvin Harton. I was in his dorm room one
- 0:19Speaker 1: day and on his mirror he had what he called
- 0:22Speaker 1: the treasure map. And on this treasure map he had
- 0:26Speaker 1: things on it, and to graduate in four years. That
- 0:31Speaker 1: was his plan, to play Jamaica Sci five, that was
- 0:34Speaker 1: his plan. And he had several other things. But he
- 0:38Speaker 1: had a treasure map. He had timelines on it, and
- 0:41Speaker 1: I'd never seen that, and I stopped him. I said, hey, Marvelous,
- 0:43Speaker 1: I said, what is this right here? He said, this
- 0:46Speaker 1: was like a treasure map. Man later to learn it
- 0:49Speaker 1: was what's called a vision board. He said, but this
- 0:52Speaker 1: is how I put the things in front of me,
- 0:55Speaker 1: my goals and hopes and wishes and aspirations. He graduated
- 1:00Speaker 1: in four years. He is a member of the Maker
- 1:03Speaker 1: Sci Fi and he's retired now. He worked in the
- 1:12Speaker 1: defense for the government and he's retired now. I watched
- 1:18Speaker 1: this cat pretty much do all the things he said.
- 1:22Speaker 1: He was going to do well. That was the first
- 1:24Speaker 1: time I saw vision board or what he called the
- 1:28Speaker 1: treasure map. What I later discovered was they were call
- 1:32Speaker 1: vision boards, and I started mind later on in life,
- 1:39Speaker 1: I wish I knew what my friend knew in nineteen
- 1:42Speaker 1: seventy four, but I didn't. I just didn't. And part
- 1:46Speaker 1: of what I want to talk to you about is
- 1:48Speaker 1: it don't matter when you learn it as long as
- 1:51Speaker 1: as long as you learn it, because the application of wisdom,
- 1:54Speaker 1: faith and understanding is never too late for that it
- 1:58Speaker 1: could be the right time for you. The fact that
- 2:00Speaker 1: I didn't have a vision board didn't stop the fact
- 2:03Speaker 1: that I should have it. Well, right now, I'm probably
- 2:07Speaker 1: on my sixth or seventh vision board. I just had
- 2:13Speaker 1: my son come over Sunday. We set outside, cooked outside
- 2:18Speaker 1: at the kitchen, and I had him redo my vision board.
- 2:22Speaker 1: My son was talking to me, said, wow, Dad, do
- 2:26Speaker 1: you know man that everything you put on your vision
- 2:28Speaker 1: board you have to change because it comes true. And
- 2:31Speaker 1: that's what I want to talk to you all about
- 2:34Speaker 1: the power of that vision board. Don't think or don't
- 2:39Speaker 1: underestimate the power of writing it down, don't underestimate the
- 2:44Speaker 1: power of putting up a visual Now I'm a picture guy,
- 2:49Speaker 1: so I do very well with pictures demonstration. If I
- 2:53Speaker 1: had known that about myself in college, I probably could
- 2:56Speaker 1: have graduated. I probably could have been an okay student
- 2:59Speaker 1: had I understand that I'm a visual learner. I don't
- 3:02Speaker 1: like words and then try to recall and then tell
- 3:05Speaker 1: you back on a test what I read. I ain't
- 3:08Speaker 1: gonna really remember all that. But if you got some
- 3:10Speaker 1: pictures and you put it in the form of a
- 3:12Speaker 1: story or my is good at that. But what I've
- 3:17Speaker 1: learned is the power of this vision board for you
- 3:20Speaker 1: is a spiritual thing. And don't think it don't apply
- 3:23Speaker 1: to you. And the fact that you ain't never had
- 3:25Speaker 1: one don't mean that this ain't the time for you
- 3:27Speaker 1: to start to have one. I put my vision boards
- 3:30Speaker 1: on my cell phone because I have nothing in my
- 3:33Speaker 1: hand more than I have my cell phone. So when
- 3:36Speaker 1: i'm my home screen, my h what you call it
- 3:40Speaker 1: the wallpaper setting, home screen setting, every time it pops up,
- 3:47Speaker 1: it's my vision board because I'm always on the phone
- 3:51Speaker 1: talking business plans. All this here. Every vision board I've
- 3:58Speaker 1: ever had has come true, and it's come true in
- 4:02Speaker 1: a way that I didn't really think about it because
- 4:05Speaker 1: on my new vision board, I put two very important
- 4:07Speaker 1: things on there. God's will and the way that I
- 4:12Speaker 1: ensure God's will is I incorporate a lot more prayer
- 4:16Speaker 1: in my life. And the other important thing I put
- 4:19Speaker 1: on there is God's timing, which requires my faith because
- 4:25Speaker 1: I've learned to stop asking for God telling him when
- 4:27Speaker 1: to do it or how to do it. I trust
- 4:30Speaker 1: in his will is better than mine knowledge of understanding,
- 4:34Speaker 1: and his timing is going to be different from mine.
- 4:37Speaker 1: So I put that on my vision board. I put
- 4:39Speaker 1: dollar amounts on my vision board. I put vision for
- 4:42Speaker 1: my foundation. I put vision that I have for other people.
- 4:45Speaker 1: I have vision for how I want to change people's lives.
- 4:49Speaker 1: I put all of that on there, and it comes true.
- 4:51Speaker 1: I put on their companies that I want to do
- 4:53Speaker 1: business with. I've had to take them off because I'm
- 4:55Speaker 1: in business with them. I'm telling you, man, the power
- 4:58Speaker 1: of vision board. Don't overlook it. Go online and learn
- 5:02Speaker 1: how to make a vision board if you need to.
- 5:05Speaker 1: But you can start with a list of stuff. But
- 5:07Speaker 1: I like pictures because I'm a visionary guy. I'm telling y'all, man,
- 5:11Speaker 1: start using vision boards and look at them every day
- 5:14Speaker 1: and just read it. I'm telling you it comes true.
- 5:16Speaker 1: It requires your faith and belief in it. And that's
- 5:19Speaker 1: really the beginning. Now. If you're willing to put the
- 5:21Speaker 1: hard work behind it, boom, all your dreams can come true.
- 5:24Speaker 1: That's the power of vision. Boyd, you really need to
- 5:27Speaker 1: think about that. That was my close remarks today, and
- 5:29Speaker 1: one other thing. Talk to God today.
