- Lucas: Hey Luna, ready for another episode of Learn Spanish with Fexingo? Luna: Yeah! I loved our park snack episodes. Today let's get something to drink. Lucas: Good idea. So today we'll learn how to order a drink at the park. First phrase: Quiero una bebida. Luna: Quiero una bebida. Lucas: Yes. Quiero una bebida means 'I want a drink.' Quiero — I want. Una bebida — a drink. Luna: So if I'm thirsty, I can say 'Quiero una bebida.' Got it. Lucas: Exactly. Now the vendor might ask you: ¿De qué sabor? Luna: ¿De qué sabor? That means 'What flavor?' Lucas: Right. So you can answer with a flavor. For example: De limón, por favor. Luna: De limón, por favor. Lemon flavor, please. Lucas: Perfect. Then you need to ask the price: ¿Cuánto cuesta? Luna: ¿Cuánto cuesta? How much does it cost? Lucas: Yes. And when you pay, the vendor might say Aquí tienes, and you say Gracias. Luna: Aquí tienes — here you go. And gracias — thanks. Lucas: Let's practice a full scene. You're at the park and you're thirsty. You go to a little stand. What do you say? Luna: Quiero una bebida. Lucas: The vendor asks: ¿De qué sabor? Luna: De limón, por favor. Lucas: Then you ask: ¿Cuánto cuesta? Luna: ¿Cuánto cuesta? Lucas: The vendor says: Aquí tienes. Luna: Gracias. Lucas: You did it! Now let's repeat each phrase a few times. Listen and repeat: Quiero una bebida. Luna: Quiero una bebida. Lucas: ¿De qué sabor? Luna: ¿De qué sabor? Lucas: De limón, por favor. Luna: De limón, por favor. Lucas: ¿Cuánto cuesta? Luna: ¿Cuánto cuesta? Lucas: Aquí tienes. Luna: Aquí tienes. Lucas: Gracias. Luna: Gracias. Lucas: You know, if today's phrases are helping you feel more confident ordering in Spanish, that's exactly what we hope for. And if you find these episodes useful, the way we keep them ad-free is through listener support at buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. Luna: Yeah, it's a small way to keep the show going. Anyway, let's run through the scene one more time. I'll be the customer. Lucas: Great. I'll be the vendor. Ready? Luna: Quiero una bebida. Lucas: ¿De qué sabor? Luna: De limón, por favor. Lucas: ¿Cuánto cuesta? Luna: Aquí tienes. Lucas: Gracias. Luna: Oh, wait — I was supposed to say 'Gracias' at the end! Lucas: That's okay. You still got most of it. Practice these phrases and next time you're at the park, you'll be ready. See you next time! Luna: Thanks for learning with us. Practice makes progress.
