  Friday edition. Thank you so much for all your thoughts, prayers,

  and congratulations on my 10-year wedding anniversary with my wife, Rachel.

  We had a great evening, went out to a great restaurant, and it was a good time.

  Folks, I just wanted to tell each and every one of you that every single day
• 1:40
  that we wake up, we always say to ourselves, hmm, what kind of day is today going to be, right?

  Well, I want to talk to you about that. you know
• 1:50
  when i wake up i always say good morning
• 1:54
  god how's it going let's make this day fun exciting and quick so i can get home
• 1:59
  to my family but then i think about it i go wait a minute i also have a family
• 2:03
  at work so i get excited to go to work i really do i love my job but are there
• 2:09
  times when i'm burnt out and need a break from my job oh my god yes of course.

  Overall, when I wake up, I'm always excited because I get to work with people
• 2:19
  that I really do enjoy working with.

  So when we get up, when we go to work and we have our laughs and our fun,
• 2:26
  we always sit there and go, eh, hard to believe this is a job, right?

  But we also have some serious work and we do our very best to make sure that
• 2:35
  we are saving lives and we're doing our part.
• 2:39
  That's what I want to get into with you, doing our part. But when we are outside of work,
• 2:45
  when we're talking amongst friends and questions come up, which happened to
• 2:50
  me a lot about our spiritual understanding,
• 2:55
  the guidance, wisdom.
• 2:57
  Just yesterday I had a conversation and a lot of questions came up in the conversation
• 3:03
  about, you know, how do you perceive the Bible?
• 3:06
  How do you perceive your life? Do you try to live your life by,
• 3:09
  you know, walking in the same style as Jesus did? a lifestyle, I should say.
• 3:14
  And let me tell you, it's very difficult to try to walk the life of Christ.

  I'm not going to lie to you there, but it's one that I have been trying to do.
• 3:25
  And I'm not sitting here today telling you that that's what you have to do.
• 3:29
  Okay. Let me make sure we all are aware of that.
• 3:31
  What I'm saying is, what are we doing to do in our part to make everyone know that we love Jesus?
• 3:40
  Some of us will say, well, I go to church every Sunday. Okay.
• 3:44
  Some of us will say, well, I wear merchandise. You know, I wear the John 3.16
• 3:49
  hats and I wear the half faith, let it begin t-shirt or something that lets
• 3:53
  people know I'm a believer. Okay.
• 3:56
  But you know what? There's nothing wrong with any of those things,
• 3:59
  okay? Nothing. That's great.

  What does our actions do for that? How do you represent Christ?
• 4:06
  Do you walk around and maybe do a good deed?
• 4:10
  Do you look for an opportunity to engage with someone when they're down or when
• 4:17
  they're not feeling well? Or do you pray for people?
• 4:19
  Do you think about it? Or do you just say that, hey, I'll pray for you and don't come through.
• 4:24
  Hey, I'm gonna tell you I'm guilty sometimes of that. I'm not going to lie.

  Okay. I never lied to you guys.
• 4:29
  So I'm just trying to explain and I'm not trying to tell you again.

  I don't want it to be perceived that I'm telling you how to live your life.
• 4:37
  I'm just saying that it's very difficult and I'm aware of that.

  Now, some of you that are listening to this show probably walk exactly the way Christ wants us to walk.

  You know, you follow everything to the T and you know what? I applaud you and
• 4:52
  I, I'm, I'm amazed by you.
• 4:56
  And I, not only that, I wish I could do that.
• 4:59
  Some of you will say, wow, you know, you're going to be a minister,
• 5:03
  a pastor and you know, and you don't do that.
• 5:06
  You know, well, how can you do that? Well, let me explain.

  When I say that I, I try my best and I don't succeed. Listen, Do I have my moments?
• 5:16
  Has a curse word come out of my mouth?
• 5:18
  Have I said things that I don't mean or I regret? Yes.
• 5:24
  But the difference for me, not for me, for any of us is when we start to do
• 5:30
  it and we realize, hey, that wasn't acceptable.

  It's when we do it and we don't care.
• 5:36
  That's when you know you're not trying to walk the path. So that's my part.
• 5:41
  That's what I'm trying to do.

  I'm trying to live my life a lot cleaner, a lot better than I was in the past.

  And let me tell you, it's a struggle. A curse word pops out, boom. I'm like, oh man.

  You know, I'm like, oh, or maybe I'll think something, an ugly thought,
• 6:02
  or I'll watch a video and be like, well, they deserve that. Wait a minute.

  I can't say that. I shouldn't say that.
• 6:08
  Why do they deserve it? You know, let me tell you, I find God working through me really, really.
• 6:17
  It's doing our part. You know, I challenge my mentor, my pastor,
• 6:23
  Jim, and all mentors, my professor, professors, I should say, how do you do it?
• 6:29
  How do you do it? I know one of
• 6:31
  my colleagues at work, I won't mention his name, but he knows who he is.
• 6:34
  He's even told me at times, You know, I try, man. You know, I try and it's not easy.
• 6:40
  So here's my final thought. How do I do my part? I'm going to speak for myself.

  I'm kind to anyone and everyone I see.
• 6:48
  I do everything and anything possible for my parents, my family.
• 6:53
  I lead by example as a good husband, a father, and a role model to anyone that I encounter.

  And I will always put God first, my family second, and I try my very best to
• 7:07
  be there for those that are in need. That is my part.

  That is my will, and that is my solemn promise as I do my best to walk the path to our ministry.

  Let's pray. Heavenly Father, we thank you for everything you do for us.

  We know, Lord, that it's not easy to walk in your footsteps,
• 7:28
  but what we do know is we walk beside you. We want to walk with you.
• 7:33
  Lord, make us stronger.
• 7:36
  Guide us. share with us your wisdoms, your thoughts,
• 7:42
  and always, always continue to place that beautiful voice into our ears when
• 7:48
  we do the right things and even when we do the wrong thing, just like we praise
• 7:52
  you on the good days and we praise you on the bad days.
• 7:56
  Finally Lord, I want to thank you for just being a part of our lives,

  thank you for creating me thank you for creating others thank you for creating
• 8:06
  this earth and I cannot wait to meet you one day when I'm called home which
• 8:11
  hopefully is not for a long time because I want to see my kids grow,
• 8:16
  but I just want to thank you Lord and thank you for a beautiful morning so I
