Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: I'm Gabe, I'm with Angie, and we are celebrating with
- 0:08Speaker 1: Memory Fireworks, Red.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Why and Boom. So they want to hook you up
- 0:13Speaker 2: with one hundred dollars in fireworks and a pack of
- 0:16Speaker 2: bud Light. And that's nothing to like, I don't know
- 0:19Speaker 2: what that phrase is, nothing to shake a stick at. Yeah,
- 0:22Speaker 2: maybe because we learn.
- 0:26Speaker 3: I have no idea where you're going.
- 0:27Speaker 2: I learned earlier in the show that this year Fourth
- 0:31Speaker 2: of July celebrations are going to cost even more than normal.
- 0:34Speaker 2: The price has gone up on hosting a celebration. And
- 0:37Speaker 2: so what better way to take some of that stress
- 0:40Speaker 2: off than winning one hundred dollars in fireworks and a
- 0:43Speaker 2: pack of bud Light from Memory Fireworks. All you have
- 0:46Speaker 2: to do is follow us on Big ninety eight point
- 0:49Speaker 2: seven's Facebook and you'll see how you can win.
- 0:52Speaker 3: That, all right.
- 0:52Speaker 1: And to celebrate what I have done is I have
- 0:55Speaker 1: found some very real fireworks that you can buy from
- 0:59Speaker 1: Memory fire okay. And I also have a couple that
- 1:02Speaker 1: you know, I might have made up yesterday at like
- 1:05Speaker 1: ten when we were prepping the show.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Okay, And so what I have to guess if it's
- 1:10Speaker 2: a fireworker.
- 1:11Speaker 3: A fireworker a fire fake?
- 1:13Speaker 2: Oh? I like that? Okay?
- 1:15Speaker 3: All right, Angie.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Is this a real firework from Memory Fireworks or did
- 1:19Speaker 1: I make it up?
- 1:21Speaker 3: The Patriot Exotica.
- 1:24Speaker 2: That sounds like a film that you maybe have watched
- 1:28Speaker 2: in the past, and I think it's fake.
- 1:30Speaker 1: I see what you're saying there. Yeah, this is a
- 1:32Speaker 1: very real fire it's exotica.
- 1:35Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Oh, then I want to get this all right, Angie.
- 1:39Speaker 2: What about the you betcha Oh that has to be real, right,
- 1:43Speaker 2: that's very Midwest?
- 1:44Speaker 1: No, that is one hundred percent real. That is a fireworky.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:48Speaker 1: What about the Freedom Goblin nine thousand?
- 1:52Speaker 2: The Freedom Goblin nine thousand?
- 1:55Speaker 3: Is that real?
- 1:56Speaker 2: That sounds real to me?
- 1:58Speaker 3: Well?
- 1:59Speaker 1: That is real fake? I made shoot off yesterday.
- 2:02Speaker 2: I like that that nine thousand.
- 2:04Speaker 3: It needs to be real. Yeah all right, Angie.
- 2:06Speaker 1: What about the Big Baby and just that Big Baby real?
- 2:14Speaker 1: You can buy the Big Baby at Memory Fireworks.
- 2:17Speaker 2: I like that?
- 2:18Speaker 1: Okay, Angie. What about the Blasterony Supreme. That's gotta be fake.
- 2:24Speaker 1: That is definitely fake.
- 2:25Speaker 2: I'm ah, yes, I know how your brain works. Game.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Okay, Angie? What about I have one more for you?
- 2:32Speaker 1: The Dakota Rodeo clown. Is is that real or fake?
- 2:36Speaker 2: Gosh? I feel like that's something you call your ex boyfriend.
- 2:40Speaker 2: I hope it's real.
- 2:42Speaker 3: And it is very real.
- 2:44Speaker 1: You can buy that at Memory Firework, so make sure
- 2:47Speaker 1: you get entered for that contest your chance at a
- 2:49Speaker 1: hundred bucks in a case of beer.
- 2:50Speaker 3: On the way, Ed Sheeran and then.
- 2:52Speaker 1: We have had a lot of awesome good news stories,
- 2:55Speaker 1: but this one is one of my favorites we've ever
- 2:57Speaker 1: had because it is happening right here in our backyard.
- 3:01Speaker 1: We have two I would say, good friends who are
- 3:03Speaker 1: kind of leading the charge on this, so I want
- 3:05Speaker 1: to share some love to those guys for gabes good
- 3:08Speaker 1: news of the day involving your dog coming up here
- 3:12Speaker 1: in about about seven minutes here on Big ninety eight
- 3:15Speaker 1: point seven. We love starting the show off on a
- 3:19Speaker 1: positive note, a nice reason to smile and make you laugh.
- 3:22Speaker 1: For the little tiny things in life you know that
- 3:25Speaker 1: really matter the most. We like to call them little
- 3:27Speaker 1: victory yes around here, and we'd love to hear yours.
- 3:30Speaker 1: If you ever wake up and you know what you
- 3:32Speaker 1: realize I got ready today in thirteen minutes instead of
- 3:36Speaker 1: my typical thirty. I think that'd be a wonderful little victory.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Share it with us at seven oh one two eight
- 3:41Speaker 1: zero one nine eight seven.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Do you have a little victory, Angie.
- 3:47Speaker 2: I'm not usually this person, but yesterday it was very
- 3:51Speaker 2: necessary and I successfully took a nap. It's all I needed.
- 3:58Speaker 2: I'm not a napper, I'm a terrible and usually i'll
- 4:01Speaker 2: take a nap. If I do take a nap, I
- 4:03Speaker 2: wake up feeling like I was hit by a truck,
- 4:05Speaker 2: and it ruins my mood for the rest of the day. Yesterday,
- 4:10Speaker 2: I just was feeling kind of overwhelmed and tired, and
- 4:14Speaker 2: I fell asleep on the couch. I don't remember moving
- 4:17Speaker 2: to the bed by, but I assume my boyfriend Mikey
- 4:20Speaker 2: helped me go to the bed and I took an
- 4:23Speaker 2: hour and a half nap, and I woke up so
- 4:25Speaker 2: refreshed and so happy and it was magical. And then
- 4:29Speaker 2: I made dinner. I mean, I was riding high nice
- 4:33Speaker 2: just because of a nap.
- 4:34Speaker 3: How long was the nap, do you know?
- 4:35Speaker 2: An hour and a half. An hour and a half nap.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Yeah, it's not terrible. I shouldn't like ruin your evening
- 4:39Speaker 3: of shot.
- 4:40Speaker 2: Yeah, No, it didn't derail me and then I got
- 4:42Speaker 2: to bed at a reasonable hour later. It was just
- 4:45Speaker 2: the perfect nap and it may never happen again. So
- 4:48Speaker 2: that's my little victory.
- 4:49Speaker 3: We'll take one in twenty twenty five. That's right.
- 4:51Speaker 2: What about you, Gabe?
- 4:53Speaker 1: Oh, my little victory I could not be more excited about.
- 4:56Speaker 1: And you can actually see my little victory on the
- 4:58Speaker 1: Big ninety eight point seven Facebook page. I spent the
- 5:02Speaker 1: best one hundred and fifty dollars I think I've ever
- 5:05Speaker 1: spent in my entire life. We have got a brand
- 5:07Speaker 1: new member of the FM area bike community. Right, Okay,
- 5:13Speaker 1: I bought a little I don't even know what you
- 5:15Speaker 1: call it, like a bugger, a bugger, a buggy, or
- 5:18Speaker 1: a trailer.
- 5:19Speaker 3: I just combined the two words. Yeah.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Essentially, I got something that if I want to go
- 5:23Speaker 1: on a bicycle ride, my dog can just hop in
- 5:27Speaker 1: the back of this thing. And it's like it's not
- 5:31Speaker 1: like like some crazy, super nice thing, but it's pretty nice.
- 5:34Speaker 1: The wheels have a nice rubber, big wide base, so
- 5:38Speaker 1: like if you hit a rock or something, it's not
- 5:39Speaker 1: gonna tip over. Yeah, And you never know when you
- 5:42Speaker 1: buy these things. If you have a pet, you know,
- 5:44Speaker 1: it's like, wow, did I really just torch one hundred
- 5:48Speaker 1: and fifty dollars with a match?
- 5:50Speaker 3: Because she hates it, she won't get in right.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Yeah, that that's the concern, Like what if she's like, listen,
- 5:55Speaker 2: I know you trying to be part of the bike community.
- 5:57Speaker 1: That means I am sitting on the couch while you
- 5:59Speaker 1: are the bike community. Yeah, but no, she you know,
- 6:02Speaker 1: kind of hopped. She didn't like hop right, and it
- 6:04Speaker 1: took a little coaxing. But once she was in, she
- 6:06Speaker 1: was cool. She poked her little head through the top.
- 6:09Speaker 1: I'm now been feverishly googling doggy helmets.
- 6:13Speaker 3: Oh much, but I will be taking my dog on
- 6:16Speaker 3: some of the bicycle rides I go on.
- 6:19Speaker 2: I love this and the video really is so cute.
- 6:21Speaker 2: You need to go to Big ninety seven, Big Night,
- 6:25Speaker 2: Big ninety eight point Seven's Facebook page. I think it's
- 6:27Speaker 2: also on our Instagram right if it's not, put it
- 6:30Speaker 2: on there. It's such a cute video of Gabe peddling
- 6:33Speaker 2: away with little Winona in the.
- 6:34Speaker 3: Back, and we were just for it.
- 6:36Speaker 1: It was just a short, little like neighborhood stroll, just
- 6:39Speaker 1: to practice get used to kind of moving in it.
- 6:42Speaker 1: But From what I could tell, she seemed to be fine.
- 6:46Speaker 1: She enjoyed it, she didn't seem overly stressed. I'm sure
- 6:49Speaker 1: she was kind of in her brain going like, what
- 6:51Speaker 1: in the heck am I doing?
- 6:53Speaker 2: Because it was new? But I think she's into it
- 6:55Speaker 2: based on that adorable video clip. I think she's very
- 6:59Speaker 2: proud to be part of the fm ares bike community.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Have you ever tried to return something that you bought
- 7:08Speaker 1: from either Amazon or Target or whatever and you were lucky.
- 7:12Speaker 3: Enough and they said, I just keep it. No, this
- 7:16Speaker 3: never happened to me either.
- 7:17Speaker 1: No, who is getting these Willie Walk of Golden tickets
- 7:21Speaker 1: from Amazon?
- 7:22Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 7:23Speaker 2: No, I always. But then maybe it's my fault because
- 7:26Speaker 2: I don't even try to return. The problem is is
- 7:28Speaker 2: when I buy something online and it arrives and it
- 7:32Speaker 2: doesn't work out, I just shock it up as a loss,
- 7:35Speaker 2: and even though I'm not gonna use it, and then
- 7:37Speaker 2: I think, well, you know what, Angie, that's what you
- 7:39Speaker 2: get for spending money, and I punish myself and I
- 7:41Speaker 2: don't even initiate a return. But you're telling me that
- 7:44Speaker 2: I could initiate a return and they would just like
- 7:46Speaker 2: let me keep it. Anyway, Because my whole thing is
- 7:48Speaker 2: that I don't want to go to the post office
- 7:50Speaker 2: or FedEx or wherever and return it. That sounds awful
- 7:56Speaker 2: to me. It would depend on the price for me,
- 7:59Speaker 2: what price? Where's your threshold?
- 8:01Speaker 1: Think about If it's seventy nine, ninety nine or lower,
- 8:05Speaker 1: I'm probably just gonna eat it.
- 8:07Speaker 3: That's yeah.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Same if it's above eighty bucks, I might try to
- 8:10Speaker 1: get that back.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Interesting, it turns out you don't even have to return
- 8:15Speaker 2: things and you get your money back. Explain this to me, Gabe,
- 8:17Speaker 2: I need to know potentially.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Yeah, have you ever tried to return something to Amazon
- 8:21Speaker 1: or wherever and they told you to keep it? Let
- 8:23Speaker 1: us know it's seven oh one two eight zero one
- 8:25Speaker 1: nine eight seven. Now I'm guessing this is one of
- 8:29Speaker 1: the greatest joys of all time. Hey, I'm trying to
- 8:32Speaker 1: give this back and now you just keep it, will
- 8:34Speaker 1: give you your money back. Walmart, Target, all kinds of
- 8:37Speaker 1: other companies are doing this mainly because it's just not
- 8:41Speaker 1: worth it for them to pay their return shipping. And
- 8:44Speaker 1: it turns out there's another reason they might do this,
- 8:47Speaker 1: and it's so we keep buying stuff. This was a
- 8:51Speaker 1: research study done that found out that when you when I,
- 8:55Speaker 1: when your neighbor gets to keep a return, it makes
- 8:59Speaker 1: us seem like the brand is friendlier or more generous
- 9:03Speaker 1: or more trustory. It's something industry insiders are calling brand warmth,
- 9:08Speaker 1: and it makes us more likely to shop with the
- 9:11Speaker 1: brand in the future. So that five dollars pair of
- 9:13Speaker 1: socks you really didn't want could end up just making
- 9:16Speaker 1: you a customer for life. If Amazon goes any we
- 9:18Speaker 1: don't need the five you can keep her.
- 9:20Speaker 2: That's so true because you know where this does happen
- 9:23Speaker 2: to me is that Starbucks, Like if the if the
- 9:27Speaker 2: drink comes out like and I just you know, you know,
- 9:30Speaker 2: sometimes you get a drink and based on the color,
- 9:32Speaker 2: you know, yeah, and they always just replace it for
- 9:35Speaker 2: free and they're like, but you can just like keep that, Yeah,
- 9:37Speaker 2: And then I always think, oh my gosh, that's so nice,
- 9:40Speaker 2: And what do I do? I keep going back to Starbucks.
- 9:43Speaker 2: This is smart.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Yeah, even if the product that you want to return
- 9:47Speaker 1: is defective, Yeah, they'll still let you keep it. They do,
- 9:49Speaker 1: just ask that you prove it doesn't work m which
- 9:53Speaker 1: they do say, can cancel out the positive vibes just
- 9:56Speaker 1: a little bit, but prove it the study found that
- 9:59Speaker 1: if the isn't defective, they can win you over even
- 10:03Speaker 1: more if they say keeping it is the most eco
- 10:06Speaker 1: friendly solution, or they suggest you donate it.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, I'm such a sucker. They've got me.
- 10:12Speaker 2: I need some company to do this to me because
- 10:14Speaker 2: then I'm like loyal for life and I'll even post
- 10:17Speaker 2: about it on Instagram and be like, oh my gosh,
- 10:19Speaker 2: you guys, you'll never believe what just happened.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Seven oh one two eight zero one to nine eight seven.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Have you ever been told to keep up product for
- 10:26Speaker 1: one of these like big giant stores?
- 10:28Speaker 3: What was the product? Did you? How did you initiate
- 10:31Speaker 3: the return?
- 10:31Speaker 1: I need to know the whole story behind it here
- 10:33Speaker 1: on Big ninety eight point seven. Now, I wasn't sure
- 10:41Speaker 1: if I was just getting spoofed by the Internet, and
- 10:44Speaker 1: I just fell for an article because I don't know
- 10:46Speaker 1: if this has ever happened to somebody. But did you
- 10:49Speaker 1: know there are people who buy items from Walmart, Target, Amazon,
- 10:54Speaker 1: they kind of don't want them, try to return them,
- 10:56Speaker 1: and then the company just says, eh, keep it, so.
- 11:00Speaker 2: They give you your money back, but then you also
- 11:03Speaker 2: just get to keep the thing that you wanted to
- 11:05Speaker 2: return just.
- 11:06Speaker 3: Get the item. I mean it's literally free.
- 11:09Speaker 2: That's amazing and magical.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Yeah, And so I had asked, hey, does this actually happen?
- 11:15Speaker 1: Has this ever happened to someone? Let us know it's
- 11:17Speaker 1: seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven.
- 11:20Speaker 1: And there's a reason that these brands do this. And
- 11:22Speaker 1: basically when they kind of give you a freebie, they
- 11:25Speaker 1: think they have you as a customer for life. And
- 11:27Speaker 1: if it's me or and I don't want to speak
- 11:29Speaker 1: for Angie, but if it's Angie, they're correct.
- 11:31Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 11:31Speaker 1: But that's everything I ever wanted from you for all
- 11:36Speaker 1: of eternity, because I feel like I owe you.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Yeah, yes, because it's like, oh my gosh, they did
- 11:41Speaker 2: such a nicey thing. So then you just want to
- 11:43Speaker 2: like keep going back to them because they're the nice company.
- 11:46Speaker 3: That's right.
- 11:47Speaker 1: And so we were trying to track down has this
- 11:50Speaker 1: ever happened to someone?
- 11:51Speaker 3: And supposedly it happens, yes, not fake.
- 11:54Speaker 2: I know that you mentioned like Walmart and Amazon. We
- 11:58Speaker 2: had someone text in I have gotten to keep numerous
- 12:01Speaker 2: items from eBay. I start the process, they refund me
- 12:06Speaker 2: and say keep it, and mine have generally been car
- 12:09Speaker 2: stuff like one time was fender flares for my truck.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Let me tell you the bane of my existence is
- 12:15Speaker 2: having to spend anything on my car because, like, of
- 12:20Speaker 2: all the things, I jut the car ugh. And so
- 12:23Speaker 2: if I bought something from my car and then it
- 12:25Speaker 2: didn't work out, I would be so annoyed to have
- 12:29Speaker 2: to do the process of returning a shipment of car things.
- 12:33Speaker 2: So the fact that they didn't have to they got
- 12:36Speaker 2: their money back and they got to keep the car part,
- 12:39Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, magical. Put on your eBay. This makes
- 12:42Speaker 2: me now want to shop on eBay.
- 12:44Speaker 3: See this is almost like a PSA.
- 12:46Speaker 1: If you get something from online chopping or whatever and
- 12:49Speaker 1: it turns out you're not really into it, try to
- 12:52Speaker 1: give it back. They might just sell you to keep it,
- 12:54Speaker 1: and you get your money back.
- 12:55Speaker 2: So the whole thing is I feel like you have
- 12:57Speaker 2: to have pure intentions though, because the second it like
- 13:00Speaker 2: I try to do this just so I can have
- 13:02Speaker 2: two of something is the day they're like, excuse me, ma'am,
- 13:05Speaker 2: return it coffee.
- 13:07Speaker 1: And then, if you don't know this, Ange's boyfriend has
- 13:13Speaker 1: now moved to Fargo. Yes, yeah, and now you don't
- 13:17Speaker 1: necessarily live together whatever, No.
- 13:20Speaker 2: My kids are out of town for a couple of
- 13:22Speaker 2: weeks to visit their.
- 13:23Speaker 3: Dad and do Father's Day and do Yeah, they.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Did Father's Day. So they've been out there since then.
- 13:27Speaker 2: And then in that time, Mikey moved here, so he's
- 13:31Speaker 2: just been staying at my place.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Yeah, he gets himself situated. Yeah, and all of those things. Well,
- 13:38Speaker 1: I went ahead and Angie, I don't think you know this.
- 13:40Speaker 1: I went ahead and got Mikey to share some secrets
- 13:43Speaker 1: about you and the little quirks you would do at
- 13:46Speaker 1: your house that we would never No one would ever
- 13:49Speaker 1: know these things about you except Gibe.
- 13:53Speaker 2: What is wrong with you? First of all, I don't
- 13:55Speaker 2: love that you guys are besties now apparently, like what
- 14:00Speaker 2: are you doing? And second of all, like, do you
- 14:02Speaker 2: hate me, Gabe? Because you've had my kids make fun
- 14:05Speaker 2: of me on air before, you've called my neighbor so
- 14:10Speaker 2: that we could have a confrontation on air before and
- 14:13Speaker 2: now and now apparently you have talked to my boyfriend
- 14:17Speaker 2: and he is spilling am I bad at him? Actually
- 14:20Speaker 2: he's spelling secrets about what it's like to be with me.
- 14:25Speaker 3: That's exactly right. Here he is with the.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Here is he here's like a first couple of quirks. Angie,
- 14:32Speaker 1: what do you think about.
- 14:32Speaker 5: These coffee creamer that can't come out of the refrigerator
- 14:36Speaker 5: until you are ready to put it in the coffee?
- 14:39Speaker 4: Oh?
- 14:40Speaker 5: Man, the dirty dishes have to be on the left,
- 14:42Speaker 5: not the right. But she will wash all of them
- 14:46Speaker 5: and put them in the dishwasher.
- 14:48Speaker 3: So why do you do that?
- 14:50Speaker 2: So do you know what's so annoying about this is
- 14:52Speaker 2: that literally this morning, I will talk to him about
- 14:56Speaker 2: the creamer. He always he leaves stuff at let's talk
- 14:59Speaker 2: about Mike's okay, he always leaves stuff out, and I
- 15:03Speaker 2: hate that, but specifically the creamer, the coffee creamer. He's
- 15:06Speaker 2: very sweet and he gets up with me in the
- 15:09Speaker 2: morning at like three in the morning and he will
- 15:12Speaker 2: make coffee for us, but he always brings the creamer
- 15:15Speaker 2: out first before he even bruised the coffee. And that
- 15:18Speaker 2: grosses me out. Like, I don't like that it's sitting
- 15:21Speaker 2: on the counter like that. So I've told him, like,
- 15:23Speaker 2: can you leave it in the fridge.
- 15:25Speaker 3: That room temp cry yes.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Until it's actually time and then the dishes. My kids
- 15:30Speaker 2: think this is dumb too. I do wash the dishes
- 15:33Speaker 2: and then I throw them in the dishwasher, and I
- 15:36Speaker 2: run the dishwasher too. I'm kind of a germophobe, and
- 15:38Speaker 2: for me, that's like a sanitary thing.
- 15:40Speaker 3: All right, what about these?
- 15:43Speaker 5: The bathroom counter is two sinks wide, and it's pretty
- 15:50Speaker 5: much all Angie Morales. I have a little spot in
- 15:54Speaker 5: the corner.
- 15:54Speaker 3: Oh so Mike doesn't have a place to brush his teeth.
- 15:57Speaker 2: Huh? What has he never lived with a woman? I
- 16:01Speaker 2: am not the only lady who takes up all of this.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Does your wife take up all the.
- 16:04Speaker 3: Sink way more? For sure?
- 16:07Speaker 1: Okay, we have the two things, and I kind of
- 16:10Speaker 1: have like a middle tree, and I just got to
- 16:13Speaker 1: use whichever sink is open.
- 16:15Speaker 3: At the time.
- 16:15Speaker 2: Okay, well then you and Mikey can commiserate on the
- 16:19Speaker 2: sink takeover.
- 16:20Speaker 3: What about this?
- 16:21Speaker 5: There's always somebody hiding in the house taking her hair ties.
- 16:27Speaker 5: It's not her misplacing her hair Tiz, Your hair.
- 16:29Speaker 3: Ties just get stolen from the carpet behind her.
- 16:33Speaker 2: Yes, I do not. Oh my god, I'm so mad
- 16:35Speaker 2: at him. I do not lose hair ties. I'm telling you.
- 16:39Speaker 2: I think that there's someone living in like a crawl
- 16:41Speaker 2: space or something that when I'm not home. I don't
- 16:44Speaker 2: like that patronizing tone game. I think they come out
- 16:47Speaker 2: and take my stuff, and it's not just hair ties.
- 16:50Speaker 2: I'm convinced. Fine, whatever, because that's reasonable. Yes, all right,
- 16:56Speaker 2: I have one more for you, rand.
- 16:57Speaker 5: There's the constant lessons in Spanish. We're in our honeymoon
- 17:02Speaker 5: phase in our relationship, and I hold the car door
- 17:05Speaker 5: open and she will reach across the driver's seat and
- 17:10Speaker 5: open my car a couple of inches. And that's a
- 17:14Speaker 5: really beautiful gesture.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Actually that is very Yeah, and you know what, I'm
- 17:19Speaker 2: glad that he ended with that, because all he did
- 17:21Speaker 2: was kind of touchsh you better end saying a nice thing.
- 17:28Speaker 3: Come out of it.
- 17:32Speaker 1: If you had to choose between texting someone or calling someone,
- 17:36Speaker 1: which one are you picking? Because I swear like eighty
- 17:40Speaker 1: percent of the population they don't need a cell phone
- 17:44Speaker 1: to do anything.
- 17:45Speaker 3: They just need a text machine.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Oh yeah, it is impossible to make phone calls these days.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Seven oh one two eight a one nine eight seven.
- 17:53Speaker 2: What do you prefer texting or calling? I fall in
- 17:56Speaker 2: with the majority of the population, it would seem I'm
- 18:00Speaker 2: a Texter. I don't want to talk on the phone.
- 18:03Speaker 2: I don't want to. Obviously, there are always caveats on
- 18:06Speaker 2: like who I would talk to on the phone, Like
- 18:09Speaker 2: my mom. I'm talking to her on the phone mostly
- 18:11Speaker 2: because when she texts in Spanish and listen, it takes
- 18:14Speaker 2: me longer to read. Yeah, but no texting, texting, and
- 18:18Speaker 2: then it makes me mad when I send a text
- 18:20Speaker 2: and then in response the person calls that's me. No, No,
- 18:25Speaker 2: I don't like it. I'm a Texter and I think that,
- 18:29Speaker 2: and I'm I'm a better communicator Angie. Your job is
- 18:32Speaker 2: literally to talk on the radio. Yes, But I think
- 18:35Speaker 2: I'm a better communicator in written word because then I
- 18:39Speaker 2: have time to like formulate what I really think and
- 18:42Speaker 2: what I want to say, and then I can proof
- 18:45Speaker 2: read it and whatever. And then if I'm just like
- 18:47Speaker 2: talking in person, sometimes I put my foot in my
- 18:50Speaker 2: mouth and it's impossible to take it out. I'd say
- 18:53Speaker 2: that's fair, But you're a you like calls.
- 18:56Speaker 1: I'd prefer a call than a text thing that takes
- 19:00Speaker 1: like two hours to just get to the answer. There's
- 19:03Speaker 1: nothing that drives me, not since texting someone for thirty
- 19:05Speaker 1: minutes and I still don't know what they need or
- 19:07Speaker 1: what they want from me, or I haven't gotten the
- 19:10Speaker 1: answer I need. Oh, I'm just gonna get this done
- 19:12Speaker 1: in fifteen seconds.
- 19:14Speaker 2: Yeah, so if you're on a phone call, you can
- 19:16Speaker 2: cut to the chase.
- 19:17Speaker 3: Yes, you know what.
- 19:18Speaker 2: That is true? So sometimes yeah, sometimes I'd be texting
- 19:21Speaker 2: and it's like they're not on my same test. If
- 19:23Speaker 2: I'm committed to texting you, I'm on my phone waiting
- 19:27Speaker 2: for the text. I expect it to be back and forth,
- 19:28Speaker 2: back and forth, not a wait fifteen minutes and then
- 19:32Speaker 2: text me back.
- 19:33Speaker 1: Ah.
- 19:33Speaker 2: I don't like that, right, but maybe you're right it
- 19:35Speaker 2: should be a call.
- 19:36Speaker 1: But no, Yeah, seven oh one two eight zero one
- 19:39Speaker 1: nine eight seven get give us a call or shoot
- 19:41Speaker 1: us a text. You could do one or the other
- 19:44Speaker 1: right now, and let us know what the one you prefer.
- 19:46Speaker 1: What about you, Ryan, I prefer texting.
- 19:48Speaker 4: I can't be bothered with long drawn out conversations like
- 19:50Speaker 4: go nowhere. I just need the facts and the information.
- 19:53Speaker 4: Just get to the point with the text and then
- 19:55Speaker 4: just be done with it.
- 19:56Speaker 3: See. But what if they take forever to text you that?
- 19:58Speaker 3: I hate that?
- 20:00Speaker 2: You know what? We had Angela text in and said
- 20:03Speaker 2: texting and I respect it, and we're both Angie's I
- 20:06Speaker 2: love it.
- 20:07Speaker 3: Oh beautiful.
- 20:09Speaker 2: I think we on Facebook, Jamie said, calling I'm either
- 20:14Speaker 2: busy driving or doing farm work. If you need an
- 20:17Speaker 2: answer right away, text takes too long. That seems to
- 20:21Speaker 2: be the consensus is that if I want a quick answer,
- 20:24Speaker 2: then calling is the move. Leanna said, depends on who
- 20:28Speaker 2: it is and how much needs to be said. Short conversation, text,
- 20:31Speaker 2: longer conversation call.
- 20:33Speaker 1: See this sounds so rude, But I only need something
- 20:40Speaker 1: or you need something for me if we're talking, I'm not.
- 20:42Speaker 3: I don't really call to just like how is your day?
- 20:45Speaker 1: You know I will, but very rarely am I calling
- 20:48Speaker 1: someone without a specific thing on asking.
- 20:50Speaker 2: So then, in terms of if you're just talking, if
- 20:53Speaker 2: you want to just talk with someone to shoot the
- 20:55Speaker 2: breeze and like whatever and catch up, do you prefer texting.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Or in person? In person, yeah, that I'd rather just call.
- 21:03Speaker 1: All right, we're gonna hang out this weekend. Good, don't
- 21:06Speaker 1: tell me anything. Don't say anything. We need things to
- 21:08Speaker 1: talk about when we meet up.
- 21:10Speaker 2: Hush, Gabe, you belong in a different era.
- 21:13Speaker 1: We have one more person and Jennifer is on the phone. Jennifer,
- 21:16Speaker 1: what about you?
- 21:17Speaker 4: You can't misread the tone in a phone call, unless
- 21:20Speaker 4: you're that person who says hey out loud, in which case,
- 21:24Speaker 4: just don't even bother calling me.
- 21:33Speaker 1: Bring your furry friends for a rocking good time and
- 21:38Speaker 1: most importantly, a great cause that could set a world
- 21:40Speaker 1: record for the most black dogs listening to led Zeppelin's
- 21:46Speaker 1: Black Dog.
- 21:47Speaker 3: This is amazing if you have no idea.
- 21:48Speaker 1: Black Dog is the title of a led Zeppelin song,
- 21:51Speaker 1: and it's probably a song or a riff you've likely
- 21:55Speaker 1: heard in your life and you don't even know it.
- 21:57Speaker 1: But this all started with one oh seven point nine
- 22:01Speaker 1: the Fox with our but our sister Station, our buddies
- 22:04Speaker 1: Dave and Moose. They were sitting around a bonfire, just
- 22:08Speaker 1: enjoying their evening, and essentially Dave I think, was like,
- 22:12Speaker 1: why haven't we just tried to get a bunch of
- 22:13Speaker 1: black dogs listening to black Dog by led Zeppelin? And
- 22:18Speaker 1: that inspired this idea. They said, they're encouraging anybody to
- 22:22Speaker 1: come out with their black dog, even if it's not
- 22:24Speaker 1: completely black, it could just be a little spot on
- 22:27Speaker 1: their coat.
- 22:28Speaker 3: Even the little black Tobeans. Anything black on your.
- 22:31Speaker 1: Dog will make them eligible to help make this world
- 22:34Speaker 1: record happen. Who doesn't want to be a part of
- 22:37Speaker 1: breaking a world record and doing something great at the
- 22:39Speaker 1: same time. Because they have teamed up and sponsored by
- 22:42Speaker 1: Wags and Whiskers Grooming Salon, the groups also hope to
- 22:46Speaker 1: raise funds and awareness for the work that Homework does
- 22:51Speaker 1: in the community, as well as bring attention to this
- 22:55Speaker 1: issue known as black dog syndrome. You maybe have heard
- 22:58Speaker 1: of this with black cats as well. They're kind of
- 23:01Speaker 1: always sort of ignored. Are the last ones adopted? Oh no,
- 23:05Speaker 1: I did not know that people tend to sort of
- 23:09Speaker 1: just walk by black dogs or cats. They get overlooked
- 23:12Speaker 1: more so than the other dogs are more colorful dogs,
- 23:16Speaker 1: And what they want to do is just try to
- 23:18Speaker 1: show some love to these animals. Now, my dog, who
- 23:21Speaker 1: I talk about way too often on this this show here,
- 23:25Speaker 1: I do love it. Yeah, she is more it's called
- 23:28Speaker 1: Fox Red. Oh okay, of a lab.
- 23:31Speaker 3: Now, I was kind.
- 23:33Speaker 1: I was talking to Dave and Moose after our show
- 23:35Speaker 1: yesterday and I said, well, I don't know if she
- 23:38Speaker 1: there's like nothing on there that would qualify, but she
- 23:42Speaker 1: does have two black little circles like dots on her tongue.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Does that count?
- 23:48Speaker 3: Would that count?
- 23:49Speaker 1: And Moose was like, well she probably has like black toepads, right,
- 23:52Speaker 1: And I went, well, yeah, of course, yeah, so I
- 23:54Speaker 1: guess well Nona would count, So I will see about
- 23:57Speaker 1: maybe bringing her to the y do it.
- 24:00Speaker 2: I'm definitely going I will be there. Where is this is?
- 24:03Speaker 2: This is from five to seven.
- 24:05Speaker 1: Yes, the fundraiser is from five to seven. They're gonna
- 24:09Speaker 1: team once again with wags and whiskers. Their grooming van
- 24:11Speaker 1: will be on hand, There'll be a few adoptable pups
- 24:14Speaker 1: from Homeward Prizes, music, food, drinks, all of it on hand,
- 24:20Speaker 1: and Black Dog Rescue event once again to day from
- 24:25Speaker 1: five to seven. And all we want to do is
- 24:27Speaker 1: just try to raise as much awareness for this as possible.
- 24:30Speaker 3: It looks like such a fun time.
- 24:31Speaker 1: You just hang out with a bunch of dogs and
- 24:34Speaker 1: you know you're doing something really good. This is gonna
- 24:37Speaker 1: be our par y bar code from five to seven,
- 24:39Speaker 1: two days. So we want to share some love to
- 24:41Speaker 1: those guys who we adore and we just love the
- 24:44Speaker 1: cause and dogs are very special to us here, or
- 24:46Speaker 1: at least I know Angree loves dogs too, yes, but
- 24:48Speaker 1: especially me, just for how often I talk about her.
- 24:50Speaker 1: So go check this event out if you can. And
- 24:53Speaker 1: be part of breaking a world record right here in Fargo.
- 24:57Speaker 1: The world is full of nice people. If you can't
- 24:59Speaker 1: find one, you gotta be one.
