- 0:00Speaker 1: Want more Treehouse, check out our YouTube exclusive shows at
- 0:02Speaker 1: YouTube dot com slash at Treehouse on air.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Sorry, got a got a big situation, hap it It
- 0:16Speaker 2: is time to leave your worries outside and laugh with
- 0:20Speaker 2: us inside the Treehouse. I'm Daniel Malley along with Trey
- 0:23Speaker 2: Trenholm and Jerry Caldwell and my bug.
- 0:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Say, and for all the people that pay extra for
- 0:32Speaker 1: the behind the scenes video and stuff, you're welcome.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Yeah, you got it all right there? Uhh, Like I
- 0:41Speaker 2: don't know what it is. I don't know if because
- 0:43Speaker 2: like Tara and I right now, we're we're staying on
- 0:45Speaker 2: Saint John at our crash pad, so it's a smaller
- 0:47Speaker 2: space and we've got both cats and our dog and
- 0:51Speaker 2: we're all in this confined space. Like as I look
- 0:53Speaker 2: over my shoulder, you can actually see the little kitchen
- 0:55Speaker 2: island cart with the you know, the the pam cooking
- 0:58Speaker 2: sprays all over here. So because in our house on
- 1:03Speaker 2: Saint Thomas, we don't typically let the animals in the bedroom,
- 1:07Speaker 2: we just try we try to keep that as our space.
- 1:09Speaker 2: So it's one of the cleanest places in the house
- 1:12Speaker 2: when we're on our crack, when we're at our crash
- 1:14Speaker 2: pad on Saint John. We're all basically in the same vicinity.
- 1:17Speaker 2: We're all breathing the same air, and so I realized
- 1:20Speaker 2: this morning, I think we're inhaling a lot more pet
- 1:23Speaker 2: dander and fur than we normally do. So my bugs
- 1:27Speaker 2: have been going crazy the last week and a half.
- 1:30Speaker 2: I mean, wow, believe yeah, so wow. While Artemis is
- 1:38Speaker 2: busy exploring.
- 1:39Speaker 4: Space, you're exploring innerspace.
- 1:43Speaker 2: I am. I am the Indiana Jones of my NAIs
- 1:45Speaker 2: old cafvity. So anyway, yay, there you go. Uh speaking
- 1:53Speaker 2: of Artemis, Okay, I haven't done a complete check in
- 1:57Speaker 2: yet on it today, but I know we re established
- 2:00Speaker 2: contact when they came around the dark side of the Moon,
- 2:03Speaker 2: having gone farther than any human has before as far
- 2:08Speaker 2: as distance, and they've sent back some amazing photos. And
- 2:12Speaker 2: there was one photo that they sent back. I don't
- 2:14Speaker 2: think it was necessarily of the dark side of the Moon,
- 2:17Speaker 2: but it was of some crater. And when you type
- 2:20Speaker 2: in moon crater to try to find an image that
- 2:23Speaker 2: you saw before, there's so many of them. I can't
- 2:25Speaker 2: find the exact one. The one that I saw, though,
- 2:29Speaker 2: I think it was a real one, but it was perfect.
- 2:36Speaker 2: It was almost like a holiday cookie cutter type diagram
- 2:41Speaker 2: thing on the surface of the Moon, and I was like,
- 2:45Speaker 2: is that a real photo? I mean, it was amazing
- 2:48Speaker 2: because I've also seen photos that people are jacking with
- 2:51Speaker 2: the flat earthers saying, hey, new photos from Artemis two
- 2:54Speaker 2: and that's a bunch of floating discs. It's a bunch
- 2:59Speaker 2: of float earth discs.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Did you see the one with with like the earth
- 3:06Speaker 1: looks like the snow globe on the turtle's back.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Oh? Man, I had looked that one up.
- 3:14Speaker 4: Awesome, that's all.
- 3:16Speaker 2: That's so good. Oh but yeah, so, I mean, this
- 3:19Speaker 2: is the hard thing about the day and age we
- 3:22Speaker 2: live in is there's space exploration going on. They're sending
- 3:25Speaker 2: us photos and videos and things, but then there's that
- 3:30Speaker 2: we got some trolls in the middle of it, posting
- 3:33Speaker 2: out other stuff that might be AI or photoshop or something.
- 3:37Speaker 2: And occasionally, if you're scrolling social media, you're not exactly
- 3:41Speaker 2: sure if you saw a real image or in one
- 3:43Speaker 2: of those one of those fake ones that are just
- 3:45Speaker 2: trying to mess with people. But yeah, so, like a
- 3:48Speaker 2: lot of the photos I've seen that I think are
- 3:49Speaker 2: real are obviously just stunning, and that one that had
- 3:53Speaker 2: like that, it was almost like a perfectly symmetrical crater
- 3:56Speaker 2: type thing, and it was so perfect looking. That's what
- 3:59Speaker 2: made me think, maybe that's not real. I don't know,
- 4:02Speaker 2: but still just one of the one of the few
- 4:05Speaker 2: feel good stories of twenty twenty six. The Artemis two
- 4:10Speaker 2: space mission.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's been fascinating and and oh yeah, what
- 4:15Speaker 1: they're going back will just I mean, I'm sure NASA
- 4:19Speaker 1: is still analyzing a ton of stuff and as they
- 4:21Speaker 1: release it.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just it's it's fantastic stuff.
- 4:24Speaker 2: And is they're analyzing their photoshopping out aliens?
- 4:29Speaker 3: Yeah, that pesky man in the moon.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Yeah, but you stick your head back down. So when
- 4:38Speaker 2: is uh, when is Artemis supposed to splash back down?
- 4:41Speaker 2: What's the what's the timeline?
- 4:43Speaker 4: Do I have?
- 4:45Speaker 3: Friday evening?
- 4:46Speaker 1: I think it's like seven oh seven Central time off
- 4:49Speaker 1: the coast of California.
- 4:51Speaker 4: Right, They've got like a two hour window in there.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Now that the government is back to being mostly funded,
- 4:58Speaker 2: does that mean they'll be able to get through customs?
- 5:00Speaker 2: Okay when they splash back down?
- 5:03Speaker 4: How does that work? Do you get? Yeah?
- 5:06Speaker 2: Do you do you get a special lane from like
- 5:09Speaker 2: lunar travels versus say, can kun.
- 5:12Speaker 4: You're gonna have to take the space boots.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Off, all right, So Friday evening, prime time, that's a
- 5:22Speaker 2: great time to come back. I have a feeling that
- 5:23Speaker 2: they probably planned that a little bit so everyone can
- 5:25Speaker 2: watch them come home fingers crossed safely. Because this is
- 5:32Speaker 2: this is the sort of the most crucial part when
- 5:35Speaker 2: you think about it as far as the space mission.
- 5:38Speaker 2: You've done all the main things and you just got
- 5:42Speaker 2: one main thing left, and that's just get home safely.
- 5:47Speaker 4: Yeah, And.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Almost sixty years later, all the space missions, that still
- 5:53Speaker 1: comes down to one thing.
- 5:56Speaker 3: The heat shield.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Yep, goddamn heat shield.
- 6:00Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:01Speaker 1: And that's that's the remarkable thing about artemis Is And
- 6:06Speaker 1: you know, it's basically it's an enhanced design of the
- 6:09Speaker 1: Apollo capsule, and that they were really good at the
- 6:14Speaker 1: design back then, because that's still because at the end
- 6:17Speaker 1: of the day, we don't produce an engine strong like
- 6:23Speaker 1: you basically have to find the right angle and hit
- 6:26Speaker 1: the gravity because you can't really fight. We don't have
- 6:29Speaker 1: something strong enough to fight, you know, getting through the
- 6:32Speaker 1: atmosphere of the burn.
- 6:33Speaker 3: So you just just you're just there and you get
- 6:38Speaker 3: the right angle and get through it.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Yeah. And I learned that and retained that from the
- 6:44Speaker 2: fantastic eighties movie Space Camp. Jerry, you remember that that
- 6:50Speaker 2: was they had to hit they had to hit the
- 6:53Speaker 2: exact right I shouldn't say right angle. They had to
- 6:56Speaker 2: hit the exact proper angle yep for re entry, because
- 7:01Speaker 2: if they don't and it's too steep, then they burn up.
- 7:04Speaker 2: And if it's not steep enough, then they bounce off
- 7:07Speaker 2: the atmosphere and probably blow up or something. So I
- 7:10Speaker 2: remember that from Space Camp, which, by the way, if
- 7:12Speaker 2: you've never seen Space Camp, I don't know if it's
- 7:15Speaker 2: good as an adult.
- 7:16Speaker 4: As a kid who cares, it's a core memory.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Listen to the cast, a little Joaquin Phoenix, Tate Donovan
- 7:27Speaker 2: who was kind of cool back then, Kelly Preston, the
- 7:34Speaker 2: guy that played Lamar from Revenge of the Nurse. They're
- 7:40Speaker 2: all in Space Camp. Oh, and Kate Capshaw also in
- 7:46Speaker 2: that movie. Missus h missus Steven Spielberg.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Uh Lamar from from Revenge of the Nurse. Because he
- 7:52Speaker 1: was also in Iron Eagle.
- 7:54Speaker 5: He was.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Played some dichotomy of characters.
- 8:00Speaker 2: The man's got range uh huh, and Jerry, Am I
- 8:04Speaker 2: remembering this correctly? Leah Thompson also in Space Camp? Or
- 8:08Speaker 2: am I conflating her with Kelly Preston? I think I am.
- 8:13Speaker 3: Kate Keshaw, Leah Thompson, Kelly Preston.
- 8:17Speaker 2: It is yep, Okay, I got it. That's a hell
- 8:21Speaker 2: of a movie. It's also when I first fell in
- 8:23Speaker 2: love with dire Straits. It's a really random pull on that.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Just trust me. If you see the movie, it'll make sense.
- 8:31Speaker 2: But yeah, I learned about the re entry through Earth's
- 8:34Speaker 2: atmosphere because of Space Camp. It's got to be the
- 8:36Speaker 2: right position otherwise you die. Right and now here we
- 8:40Speaker 2: are Artemis two having to do the same thing in
- 8:43Speaker 2: the twenty first century. At least we're consistent.
- 8:47Speaker 4: That the the tiles that they're using are leaps and
- 8:51Speaker 4: bounds better than even what they had on the very
- 8:55Speaker 4: last Shuttle launch and reentry.
- 8:58Speaker 2: Oh is it that porcelain tile that looks like wood flooring.
- 9:01Speaker 2: That's good stuff, Yes, very durable.
- 9:07Speaker 4: Yes.
- 9:10Speaker 2: Would just love to see someone's face when NASA shows
- 9:12Speaker 2: up at the tile off and be like, all right,
- 9:15Speaker 2: so we need l a bunch of your tile here.
- 9:17Speaker 2: What's a for rocket.
- 9:20Speaker 4: Away?
- 9:21Speaker 2: Okay, so we get splashed down, splashed down, seven o'clock
- 9:24Speaker 2: Friday night, Primetime. Hopefully that goes well. Where are they
- 9:28Speaker 2: supposed to be splashing down? Are they still splashing down
- 9:30Speaker 2: or are they doing like the SpaceX rocket return? Are
- 9:33Speaker 2: they just going to land on a platform?
- 9:34Speaker 3: No? Still they splash down off the coast of California.
- 9:38Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, it still takes too much fuel to have
- 9:42Speaker 4: a thrust system to slow them down enough to land them.
- 9:45Speaker 2: I love that while we're exploring space, we're still budget conscious.
- 9:49Speaker 4: That's right.
- 9:49Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, that's going to be too much gas.
- 9:52Speaker 2: If you've seen gas prices, they're a little high lately.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Things are happening in the Middle East. So I think
- 9:56Speaker 2: it's better we just you know, parachute our way down
- 9:58Speaker 2: and save the fuel.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Still I don't think we I still don't think we
- 10:03Speaker 1: build an engine that can do it. And it's one
- 10:06Speaker 1: thing when when when you're when you're talking about these
- 10:09Speaker 1: launches where those castles, engines, everything else come back after
- 10:14Speaker 1: a low earth orbit. It's another thing when you're talking
- 10:18Speaker 1: about full blown hurling back towards the Earth.
- 10:21Speaker 2: You're right because right now the Orion where all the
- 10:24Speaker 2: astronauts are. They're not in the rocket anymore. They're in
- 10:28Speaker 2: the capsule, right exactly, So now he doesn't have a
- 10:32Speaker 2: big engine on it, so got it right. You could
- 10:34Speaker 2: still use the heat shield to slow them down to
- 10:38Speaker 2: you know, merely terminal velocity, at which point you could
- 10:41Speaker 2: then fire engines all that, but that would require a
- 10:43Speaker 2: lot of fuel on board the actual capsule, which would
- 10:46Speaker 2: be extra weight in the launch in the beginning. And yeah,
- 10:50Speaker 2: so it is technically budgetary. So in terms that my
- 10:55Speaker 2: non space brain can understand, they're on the rocket, and
- 10:58Speaker 2: the rocket go take take off towards the Moon, and
- 11:01Speaker 2: then when they get far enough beyond the atmosphere, then
- 11:06Speaker 2: then the rocket goes away and then it's just the
- 11:08Speaker 2: tip that we take the space.
- 11:10Speaker 1: It's it's still very much the Apollo system of they
- 11:15Speaker 1: stages get get the Oriyan capsule off and then ultimately
- 11:22Speaker 1: ditch that and it's it's just the capsule like like
- 11:24Speaker 1: it was in the Apollo.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Missions, and then the tip comes back home, parachute splash down,
- 11:30Speaker 2: fish them out right fingers crossed man. We need we
- 11:37Speaker 2: need to win, We need a w we need to
- 11:41Speaker 2: feel good, and that would be the way to make
- 11:43Speaker 2: be a nice a nice bow on the last week,
- 11:47Speaker 2: week and a half, a nice feel good moment, something
- 11:51Speaker 2: to be proud of. Be like, ah, yes, we did something.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Uh when is the next one supposed to be? Do
- 11:57Speaker 2: we know next? Sure, it's on the schedule somewhere next Okay.
- 12:00Speaker 4: Yeah, approximately a year from now.
- 12:03Speaker 1: And then twenty eight is when they plan on landing
- 12:07Speaker 1: on the Moon.
- 12:08Speaker 4: Yeah, putting people on the moon?
- 12:09Speaker 2: Yeah, do we know what they're supposed to do when
- 12:13Speaker 2: they get there? Are they gonna do like a repeat
- 12:15Speaker 2: of you know sixty nine with Apollo twelve or eleven?
- 12:19Speaker 4: They've got a much better game plan.
- 12:22Speaker 2: They're gonna they're gonna play pickleball instead of golf.
- 12:25Speaker 4: Yes, on the Moon.
- 12:31Speaker 2: All right, Well, we've had fun with that, and we've
- 12:35Speaker 2: done something that Hollywood's been doing a lot of lately,
- 12:38Speaker 2: that is, we rebooted a classic. We took our intellectual
- 12:42Speaker 2: property of Going to the Moon and we rebooted it
- 12:44Speaker 2: and we remastered it, and hopefully it all goes according
- 12:48Speaker 2: to plan. There are some things in the past though,
- 12:50Speaker 2: that I'm sure some of us wish would just stay buried.
- 12:54Speaker 2: I'm a big fan of WFAA's Cynthia isigide. She's an
- 12:59Speaker 2: outstanding anchor and has been for a number of years now,
- 13:02Speaker 2: for a number of years now Channel eight in Dallas
- 13:05Speaker 2: Fort Worth, and but.
- 13:07Speaker 3: An incredibly nice person.
- 13:11Speaker 2: I'm sure that she wishes this didn't exist, but the
- 13:17Speaker 2: internet is forever, along with TV news.
- 13:20Speaker 6: Bloopers view Eric wyhan Mayer who climbed the highest mountain
- 13:24Speaker 6: in the world, Mount Everest.
- 13:26Speaker 7: But he's gay, I mean he's gay. Excuse me, he's blind.
- 13:30Speaker 7: I worry about that coming.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Oh wow, Oh Cynthia, her mind was definitely somewhere else.
- 13:41Speaker 2: I don't know how I have never seen this until
- 13:44Speaker 2: just the other day. Oh really, how how many years
- 13:47Speaker 2: has Cynthia been in DFW as an anchor at Channel eight,
- 13:51Speaker 2: Like it's pushing twenty if not already, right, yeah, and
- 13:54Speaker 2: it's a long time. This clip is from a prior station,
- 14:01Speaker 2: a different market altogether. I don't know which one it
- 14:04Speaker 2: is at The logo with the seven in the circle
- 14:07Speaker 2: in the corner looks like a Chicago's like Chicago. Yeah,
- 14:14Speaker 2: And you can also tell watching the video like we are,
- 14:19Speaker 2: it is extremely fuzzy on the resolution. So this is
- 14:23Speaker 2: well before high death, Like this is before we even
- 14:27Speaker 2: knew what ten eighty was. This is before we even
- 14:31Speaker 2: knew what seven twenty was. I mean, I think this
- 14:34Speaker 2: was like actual, like in the ninety air. Yeah, this
- 14:38Speaker 2: is nineties era TV resolution, And maybe that was the problem.
- 14:44Speaker 2: Maybe the teleprompter was on ninety nineties era resolution when
- 14:49Speaker 2: she said, this.
- 14:50Speaker 6: Your view Eric wyhan Mayer, who climbed the highest mountain
- 14:54Speaker 6: in the world, Mount Everest.
- 14:56Speaker 7: But he's gay. I mean he's gay. Excuse me, he's blind.
- 15:00Speaker 7: So we'll hear about that.
- 15:01Speaker 4: I just and you can see her co anchor he's
- 15:08Speaker 4: confused too, uh huh, He's like, what.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I look, I don't know how you get gay
- 15:16Speaker 2: out of blind, but somehow her wires got crossed.
- 15:20Speaker 4: And really crossed.
- 15:22Speaker 2: And keep in mind, I feel for her. This sucks.
- 15:27Speaker 2: But if this was me, I would fully expect everyone
- 15:29Speaker 2: to drag it up on occasion and make fun of
- 15:31Speaker 2: me for it. And you know what, maybe she embraces
- 15:34Speaker 2: it a little bit these days. I don't know. I
- 15:36Speaker 2: don't want to be the person that asks her because
- 15:41Speaker 2: on the off chance she really really hates this, and
- 15:45Speaker 2: I don't want to be associated in her head with hate.
- 15:47Speaker 3: But hey, listen, listen.
- 15:50Speaker 1: If it ever gets too much for she ever just thinks,
- 15:54Speaker 1: what the hell, why won't this go away?
- 15:57Speaker 3: Called Jeff crilly.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Because no matter what, no matter how bad it is,
- 16:04Speaker 1: at least you don't have a giant dildo bouncing through
- 16:07Speaker 1: the background of your live shot.
- 16:09Speaker 2: That's true. You know how they always say there's always
- 16:13Speaker 2: someone richer, There's always a bigger boat in TV news,
- 16:18Speaker 2: There's always a bigger dildo in the background.
- 16:30Speaker 4: You're in the treehouse.
- 16:32Speaker 8: Visit us online at treehouseonair dot com.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Although in the case of Jeff Curley's live shot, there
- 16:39Speaker 2: is yet to be one bigger than that. One eight
- 16:43Speaker 2: three three COOKDFW is the phone number you will need
- 16:45Speaker 2: to reach Daniel Cook at COOKDFW Roofing and Restoration. Use
- 16:49Speaker 2: that to schedule your free roof inspection and property review today. Look,
- 16:53Speaker 2: let's be honest, the roofing industry is not the most
- 16:56Speaker 2: well regarded on the consumer side because there are so
- 16:59Speaker 2: many live by night slash straight up fraudsters out there
- 17:03Speaker 2: taking advantage of homeowners. What's what's a homeowner to do?
- 17:07Speaker 5: Daniel buyer, Beware, buyer, Beware, I can't stress out enough.
- 17:11Speaker 5: We talk about this all the time, you as a homeowner,
- 17:15Speaker 5: responsible for who you have on your property, how they
- 17:17Speaker 5: repair it. And there's not much support that's going to
- 17:21Speaker 5: be given to you. So do your due diligence, do
- 17:24Speaker 5: the you know, discovery on the company you're using, find
- 17:27Speaker 5: out what their reviews, you know, ask for some references.
- 17:30Speaker 5: Are they local, do they have they already done, you know,
- 17:32Speaker 5: work in your neighborhood. Before we just had this happen,
- 17:35Speaker 5: we had a client that we worked on several homes
- 17:37Speaker 5: around them. They unfortunately went with a contractor that was
- 17:41Speaker 5: based out of Houston. They drove up here after the
- 17:43Speaker 5: last storm in September. They went door knocking. They asked
- 17:47Speaker 5: this client to get their business from told they had
- 17:48Speaker 5: all this crew, they had all these special people that
- 17:50Speaker 5: could handle their their you know, problems with their home. Well,
- 17:55Speaker 5: you know, five months into this now they have more
- 17:57Speaker 5: problems than they actually had after the storm because now
- 18:01Speaker 5: they've let somebody that painted their house wrong overspray on
- 18:04Speaker 5: the brick, you know, the garage doors not you know
- 18:08Speaker 5: put in there correctly. Windows are not sealed around. They
- 18:11Speaker 5: broke brit trying to install the windows. They try to
- 18:13Speaker 5: put carpet in a bedroom and they left a big
- 18:15Speaker 5: seam all the way down the middle of the room,
- 18:17Speaker 5: so you can see this huge seam in this carpet.
- 18:20Speaker 5: Just there's a mountain of lists. And now unfortunately this
- 18:22Speaker 5: homeowner's finding themselves they had to hire a lawyer, spend
- 18:26Speaker 5: money on litigation up front, because most lawyers aren't going
- 18:29Speaker 5: to take that on pro bono or anything. Now they're
- 18:32Speaker 5: fighting this contractor on doing the right thing with their home,
- 18:36Speaker 5: and they're just asking the contractor to relieve themselves of
- 18:39Speaker 5: any liability. They're willing to pay them a small amount
- 18:42Speaker 5: of money of the things they've already done, which they're
- 18:44Speaker 5: actually going to spend more money to fix them. But
- 18:47Speaker 5: these are the things that you have to do, and
- 18:49Speaker 5: the company is not willing to do the right thing,
- 18:51Speaker 5: you know, that's the red flag in itself. But unfortunately,
- 18:55Speaker 5: now this homeowner's going have to go through all of
- 18:56Speaker 5: this huge lawyer litigation stuff and all this and is
- 19:00Speaker 5: going to drag out the repairs on their home. So

- 19:59Speaker 2: with Trey and j There was one other thing I
- 20:01Speaker 2: noticed in this video with w FAA anchor Cynthia Isegide.
- 20:08Speaker 2: And this video, by the way, was from many many
- 20:11Speaker 2: many years ago. At a previous station.
- 20:13Speaker 6: Interview, Eric Wyhan made player who climbed the highest mountain
- 20:18Speaker 6: in the world, Mount Everest.
- 20:20Speaker 7: But he's gay, I mean he's gay. Excuse me, he's blind.
- 20:24Speaker 7: So we'll hear about that coming here.
- 20:28Speaker 2: On one hand, and on one hand, like you mentioned, Jerry,
- 20:31Speaker 2: her her co anchor has got to be just you know,
- 20:34Speaker 2: just soul crushed in sides like, oh no, she just
- 20:36Speaker 2: said something like that. Have you noticed his name? His
- 20:43Speaker 2: name is Craig and if I'm seeing and if I'm
- 20:50Speaker 2: seeing it correctly, his full name is Craig Nigrell Lee.
- 20:55Speaker 2: You know how there are certain names that you see
- 20:57Speaker 2: and you think, you know, I'd change that if I
- 20:59Speaker 2: was him. This is one of them. Because if I'm
- 21:03Speaker 2: on TV and I'm going around using the last name
- 21:06Speaker 2: nick GRELLI I think I would change that because it
- 21:09Speaker 2: sounds like a slur in Italian.
- 21:15Speaker 3: And by the way, I think this she was in Albuquerque.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Oh this is Albuquerque. Well then she shouldn't apologize. I
- 21:24Speaker 2: don't think Albuquerque is that, you know, stunned by her
- 21:27Speaker 2: saying this. Also, I'm stunned that Albuquerque has an action news.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Well that that's this is how TV news and how
- 21:36Speaker 2: radio used to work. You get all your mistakes done
- 21:39Speaker 2: in the small market, so when you get to the
- 21:41Speaker 2: big one, it's all out of your system.
- 21:44Speaker 4: I was about to say, could that possibly be why
- 21:46Speaker 4: she changed markets? Could could this have been when that happened?
- 21:52Speaker 2: Congratulations, Cynthia, You've done the worst thing imaginable in Albuquerque.
- 21:56Speaker 2: It's time we call you to the big leagues in Dallas,
- 21:59Speaker 2: fort Work.
- 22:00Speaker 4: It's out of your system. Now it's time.
- 22:04Speaker 2: Come on up. Anyway, I'm sorry Cynthia had to go
- 22:10Speaker 2: through that, but I'm glad we got to, you know,
- 22:12Speaker 2: be a part of it in some small way. All Right, Look,
- 22:16Speaker 2: we all need to be honest about something here. We're
- 22:19Speaker 2: not getting any younger. We are all of the age
- 22:22Speaker 2: that we are now encountering old man problems. I am
- 22:27Speaker 2: forty six, Trey, you're fifty one. Jerry, you're also fifty one. Also,
- 22:34Speaker 2: you're also fifty one. Even though, if I can be
- 22:37Speaker 2: so bold, I like to think we all look pretty
- 22:40Speaker 2: good for our age, especially Jerry. Jerry, you're fifty one,
- 22:43Speaker 2: you look like thirty one. That's just not fair. But
- 22:46Speaker 2: we all still have problems that come with age. And
- 22:52Speaker 2: there are times I feel like maybe our fathers didn't
- 22:55Speaker 2: prepare us for all of these things. They prepared us
- 22:58Speaker 2: for a number of things, but as a father, I
- 23:00Speaker 2: guess you can't prepare your son for everything. Like this headline,
- 23:04Speaker 2: why men over fifty keep getting things stuck up their butts?
- 23:14Speaker 1: I feel like maybe this was a conversation uniquely suited
- 23:17Speaker 1: to you and your dad.
- 23:19Speaker 2: I knew you were going to take it to me.
- 23:21Speaker 2: I just knew it. That's why he gave you the
- 23:22Speaker 2: room to get it out there.
- 23:25Speaker 4: It's the space to get in the space to get
- 23:27Speaker 4: in there. Yeah, any window, all of it.
- 23:33Speaker 2: When a man in his fifties, Robert, shuffled into doctor
- 23:37Speaker 2: Lawrence Cunningham's GP surgery, he initially complained of tummy peyton.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Doctor Lawrence told Metro it took nearly half an hour
- 23:47Speaker 2: of gentle questioning before he admitted the truth. He had
- 23:50Speaker 2: a glass jar stuck in his butt that he couldn't
- 23:53Speaker 2: get out himself. This is not an isolated incident, by
- 23:56Speaker 2: the way, with the NHS forking out roughly three million
- 24:01Speaker 2: pounds in the past five years to remove foreign objects
- 24:04Speaker 2: from people's rectums. In twenty twenty five alone, five hundred
- 24:09Speaker 2: and five people were admitted to the hospital for this reason,
- 24:12Speaker 2: twenty five percent of whom were men, just like Robert,
- 24:16Speaker 2: aged fifty one, a milder. So, while this story is
- 24:20Speaker 2: based in the UK, we all know we're doing it
- 24:26Speaker 2: as well in America. If the Brits are doing it,
- 24:28Speaker 2: we're doing it too. I have no doubt about it.
- 24:32Speaker 9: Speak for yourself, Okay, objects get stuck in the butt
- 24:43Speaker 9: because of your internal anal sphincter muscle, which you cannot control.
- 24:48Speaker 2: It contracts because its job is to hold in your bowels. Therefore,
- 24:53Speaker 2: if you don't insert something with a flared base and
- 24:56Speaker 2: you push it too far in your sphinker ca and
- 25:00Speaker 2: contract and pull it inside you. The doctor adds he's
- 25:05Speaker 2: seen or heard of pretty much everything being discovered in
- 25:08Speaker 2: someone's butt, and nearly forty years of practice, there's been
- 25:11Speaker 2: household items through purpose made adult toys. He says. The
- 25:16Speaker 2: ones that come up most seem to be bottles, light bulbs,
- 25:18Speaker 2: and various bits from the kitchen drawer. Keep that in
- 25:22Speaker 2: mind the next time you go out over somebody's house
- 25:23Speaker 2: for a dinner party.
- 25:29Speaker 1: And we've all we've talked to ems workers and heard stories.
- 25:34Speaker 1: I don't understand the light bulb thing.
- 25:38Speaker 4: I don't like. I don't.
- 25:42Speaker 3: Of all things because they're very breakable.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Yes, they're very breakable, unless you're putting that in there
- 25:48Speaker 2: to go do an X ray for funzies with with
- 25:52Speaker 2: it on. I don't think that's going to be enjoyable.
- 25:55Speaker 4: I mean, I especially wouldn't want it on if that
- 25:56Speaker 4: glass breaks and that some bitches on Holy cow. Yeah uh,
- 26:02Speaker 4: I mean I have never understood the wanting to put
- 26:10Speaker 4: things in your butt or put your other thing into
- 26:14Speaker 4: other things bottles, I've never I've never understood the for
- 26:17Speaker 4: an object thing ever.
- 26:19Speaker 2: No, I mean, look, if if I'm a big proponent
- 26:23Speaker 2: of you, do you but the next time you're in
- 26:26Speaker 2: a home goods and you see a dude in there
- 26:28Speaker 2: by himself, that's what he's doing, he is shopping.
- 26:35Speaker 3: I mean, but what do you do? You do you
- 26:37Speaker 3: think you're like.
- 26:41Speaker 1: Uncle Fester's weird twin that you know you can line
- 26:46Speaker 1: them up at the other end?
- 26:47Speaker 3: What I I That just makes no sense.
- 26:55Speaker 4: Take a great only fans page, Fans.
- 27:01Speaker 2: I got an oscillating one in there one time. In
- 27:06Speaker 2: addition to the bottles, the light bulbs, and various bits
- 27:09Speaker 2: from the kitchen drawer. Other medical professionals share in this
- 27:13Speaker 2: article that people have told them about mobile phones, remote controls,
- 27:17Speaker 2: even small tools. The range really is quite something. Yeah,
- 27:27Speaker 2: in France, when we talked about this story a while
- 27:29Speaker 2: back in France, there was even a man who turned
- 27:32Speaker 2: up There was even a man who went to the
- 27:34Speaker 2: emergency room where the World War One bomb in his butt. Women,
- 27:42Speaker 2: this does happen to women as well, it's just at
- 27:44Speaker 2: a much smaller percentage compared to men.
- 27:48Speaker 1: Yeah, what I mean, I know, they said, you know,
- 27:53Speaker 1: this is something that especially happens over fifty. But I'm
- 27:57Speaker 1: still yet to get to the point in my life
- 28:00Speaker 1: where I'm just like, well, you know, you start everything,
- 28:05Speaker 1: you look at everything in the realm of could that
- 28:08Speaker 1: fit up my ass?
- 28:10Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like a second puberty. Uh huh, because his
- 28:14Speaker 2: first puberty. I mean, my god, that's just a whirlwind.
- 28:19Speaker 2: But according to this article, they asked a question why
- 28:22Speaker 2: are older men the primary culprits of sticking random objects
- 28:26Speaker 2: in their butts? Sex educator April Maria says there's one
- 28:31Speaker 2: simple reason maturing sexually. She says it's not about these
- 28:35Speaker 2: men being adventurous, but more about them becoming more comfortable
- 28:39Speaker 2: with themselves and their bodies over time. As people get older,
- 28:44Speaker 2: there's less pressure to perform or fit into a rigid
- 28:46Speaker 2: area of what sex should look like and more openness
- 28:50Speaker 2: to exploring what actually feels good.
- 28:54Speaker 4: Still doesn't explain why you want to put fourn objects
- 28:56Speaker 4: up your ass.
- 28:58Speaker 2: She just said it. You're you're just more open to it.
- 29:02Speaker 1: Then then go buy the you know they make toys
- 29:08Speaker 1: that for guys. Go buy one of those that's built
- 29:13Speaker 1: for such adventures.
- 29:15Speaker 2: At least something with a handle, yes, a handle or
- 29:19Speaker 2: a string, because it makes sense. Especially today, you can
- 29:24Speaker 2: get anything delivered at just about any time. So if
- 29:29Speaker 2: you have this urge to put something in your butt
- 29:34Speaker 2: instead of looking around your house and deciding, hm, I
- 29:38Speaker 2: wonder if that would feel good or fit, go online
- 29:42Speaker 2: and find you a tool for the job meant to
- 29:45Speaker 2: do that.
- 29:47Speaker 4: They even make ice They even make ice trays where
- 29:51Speaker 4: you can like make dildo shaped ice cubes or butt
- 29:57Speaker 4: plug shaped ice cubes. Well is that adventures?
- 30:02Speaker 1: Well?
- 30:02Speaker 2: Is that for your butt? Or is that for the
- 30:04Speaker 2: alcohol that you're going to drink before you start sticking
- 30:07Speaker 2: things in your butt?
- 30:08Speaker 4: I mean, if you've got two, you can use it
- 30:11Speaker 4: multi purse.
- 30:11Speaker 2: Yes, that makes sense. I guess you could if you
- 30:13Speaker 2: got a whole tray, some go in the glass, some
- 30:15Speaker 2: going your butt. I don't know. The whole point though, is,
- 30:26Speaker 2: according to research, men are reaching a certain age of
- 30:29Speaker 2: sexual maturity where they feel open enough to start sticking
- 30:35Speaker 2: random things in their butt. We are now telling you
- 30:38Speaker 2: don't do that. Get a specific tool for the job.
- 30:42Speaker 2: Like if you're building a tree house, you get the
- 30:45Speaker 2: tools necessary to build the treehouse. You don't get a
- 30:47Speaker 2: button plug to do that. So if you want to
- 30:51Speaker 2: stick something in your butt, don't take a tool away
- 30:53Speaker 2: from the treehouse building kit. Just go get a butt blood.
- 30:57Speaker 4: I don't know now that you talk about it, man,
- 30:58Speaker 4: I'm starting to look at my he mans a little
- 31:00Speaker 4: differently right now.
- 31:01Speaker 2: Well, they're looking at you differently, and it's probably because
- 31:07Speaker 2: they have the power.
- 31:11Speaker 4: So smooth and muscular.
- 31:13Speaker 2: But if you get the entire castle of gray skull
- 31:16Speaker 2: in your ass.
- 31:17Speaker 4: I'll take a picture. I'll send it to you.
- 31:19Speaker 2: No, you will not do not call me for help
- 31:21Speaker 2: when that gets stuck, because it's kinda get stuck. It's
- 31:24Speaker 2: very jagged.
- 31:27Speaker 3: What about Gi Joe.
- 31:30Speaker 4: Ooh kung Fu grip?
- 31:31Speaker 2: Hang on? Are we talking to eighties Gi Joe the
- 31:34Speaker 2: small version or like the sixties version that was like
- 31:37Speaker 2: eighteen inches?
- 31:40Speaker 3: I also notice what i'd float your boat?
- 31:43Speaker 2: Also not as the Great American Hero, Yeah.
- 31:50Speaker 1: I mean, I mean, I guess the kung Fu grip
- 31:51Speaker 1: would uh massage the prostate.
- 31:56Speaker 2: Give it a swift kick. Yeh okay. So that's not
- 31:59Speaker 2: all when it comes to old man problems. This one,
- 32:04Speaker 2: this one is certainly something that's very unique to men,
- 32:06Speaker 2: and the ladies have absolutely no idea about it. This
- 32:12Speaker 2: is a great post on social media that someone did.
- 32:15Speaker 2: Nobody warned me that the worst part of aging was
- 32:19Speaker 2: going to be my nuts turning into a pendulum. They
- 32:21Speaker 2: just keep growing. I'm out here swinging low like a
- 32:24Speaker 2: goddamn grandfather clock. Yes, this is one of those lessons
- 32:33Speaker 2: that my father, may he rest in peace, did not
- 32:37Speaker 2: prepare me for. He got me on the front end
- 32:40Speaker 2: as far as like giving me the talk the birds
- 32:42Speaker 2: and the bees and the body going through changes into manhood,
- 32:46Speaker 2: but he never gave me to talk about the back
- 32:49Speaker 2: end of life, when things start changing in other ways,
- 32:52Speaker 2: like going farther south towards the equator, in ways that
- 32:58Speaker 2: you didn't really expect, because there was and a pamphlet
- 33:00Speaker 2: on that in health class. Instead, I got the radio
- 33:06Speaker 2: station version of it from our assistant program director Lee
- 33:10Speaker 2: Harris at one oh five three, telling me, oh man,
- 33:13Speaker 2: my bulls just get lower and lower every day, Like,
- 33:16Speaker 2: oh god, I don't want to hear this from him.
- 33:21Speaker 3: You and Lee were that close. Huh.
- 33:25Speaker 2: Lee was that close with anybody who would listen.
- 33:28Speaker 4: That's fair.
- 33:33Speaker 2: If you were within earshot, he was talking to you
- 33:37Speaker 2: about some seriously inappropriate things.
- 33:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:42Speaker 2: And then but then if you got him and our
- 33:44Speaker 2: engineer Jay Walker talking about talking about his favorite blumpkin situation,
- 33:49Speaker 2: then you just got two radio classics going ahead to
- 33:52Speaker 2: head and you're just sitting back and just enjoying the show.
- 33:55Speaker 10: Oh and your ears would never be the same. Now
- 34:02Speaker 10: you're scarred at that point, very scarred. But but this
- 34:06Speaker 10: is something that you keep hearing about the older and
- 34:08Speaker 10: older men get is you start thinking, is the water
- 34:11Speaker 10: level in my toilet bowl getting higher?
- 34:14Speaker 4: Or yeah, I've never never thought about plastic surgery before,
- 34:21Speaker 4: you know, but if I was going to get one,
- 34:24Speaker 4: just sew them suckers up, just bring them back to factory.
- 34:27Speaker 2: That's get a sack lift.
- 34:30Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 34:34Speaker 3: Do they do that.
- 34:36Speaker 2: I'm almost positive that they do.
- 34:38Speaker 4: It must exist somewhere, that's God.
- 34:41Speaker 3: You want to talk about painful?
- 34:44Speaker 4: Oh, just quick little whip stitch.
- 34:48Speaker 1: I think probably just you're cutting out skin and then
- 34:52Speaker 1: re sewing mm hmm.
- 34:55Speaker 3: I mean you know, I don't. I don't think.
- 34:57Speaker 1: I mean if they just pulled it back like you
- 35:00Speaker 1: do a facelift, and I think then you'd get a
- 35:02Speaker 1: saggy taint.
- 35:04Speaker 2: Well, I think they trim it. This is what I mean.
- 35:12Speaker 2: Our fathers did not prepare us for these things. Dad.
- 35:16Speaker 2: What do you do when you balls get too low?
- 35:18Speaker 2: You cut them son.
- 35:22Speaker 3: A little nip tuck, just pull.
- 35:27Speaker 2: It back and you staplehew glue.

- 36:26Speaker 2: We are back inside the Treehouse, Dan Trey and Jerry.
- 36:31Speaker 2: It is April ninth, twenty twenty six. Time for birthdays.
- 36:46Speaker 2: Kristen Stewart is thirty six years old today. Kristin Stewart
- 36:53Speaker 2: thirty six years old today. One of those just sort
- 36:56Speaker 2: of a I just all she got hollyweird pretty quickly.
- 37:01Speaker 2: She started out in the Twilight movies. Of course, I
- 37:04Speaker 2: don't know if she did anything before that, but that's
- 37:06Speaker 2: what she's That's what she was known for for a
- 37:08Speaker 2: very long time. She's done a few things since then,
- 37:14Speaker 2: lots of artsy type stuff. Like I said, she's kind
- 37:16Speaker 2: of gotten holly weird. But she's taken so much flack
- 37:22Speaker 2: in her career for basically being one faced, Like she
- 37:28Speaker 2: just has like one face through everything she's ever done,
- 37:32Speaker 2: so much so that everyone just kind of like, is
- 37:34Speaker 2: she a bad actress? Like she can't change her face
- 37:36Speaker 2: to change, you know, based on a roll or anything.
- 37:39Speaker 2: I don't know if that's fair or not. I haven't
- 37:41Speaker 2: seen her enough stuff to judge it. There was a
- 37:43Speaker 2: movie that came out a handful of years ago. It's
- 37:45Speaker 2: one of those underwater like suspense slash horror movies. I
- 37:49Speaker 2: meant to see it, I just haven't. I keep forgetting
- 37:51Speaker 2: about it. Does that sound familiar to you with All
- 37:52Speaker 2: Trey No do you remember in I guess maybe it
- 37:59Speaker 2: started in the eighties with Abyss, But late eighties and
- 38:03Speaker 2: into the nineties there was these underwater scary movies. So
- 38:08Speaker 2: you had Abyss, which wasn't necessarily scary, it was just,
- 38:13Speaker 2: you know, it was suspenseful at points, but you didn't
- 38:15Speaker 2: really know what was happening. But then there was a
- 38:17Speaker 2: movie that came out called Leviathan that was scary, and
- 38:21Speaker 2: I still feel like there was a couple of others,
- 38:23Speaker 2: but I'm brain farting as far as what the titles were.
- 38:26Speaker 2: But I just feel like that's a whole genre that's
- 38:28Speaker 2: like a subgenre of films where it's movies that take
- 38:32Speaker 2: place in, you know, these research facilities or something at
- 38:37Speaker 2: the bottom of the ocean floor and how that's just
- 38:39Speaker 2: scary enough on its own. But it was one of
- 38:41Speaker 2: those movies.
- 38:42Speaker 4: The movie you were talking about is called The Chronology
- 38:46Speaker 4: of Water.
- 38:50Speaker 2: The subgenre or the movie itself, the movie the movie
- 38:54Speaker 2: the movie itself with kristin Dirt. Yeah, no, wonder, I
- 39:01Speaker 2: didn't see it.
- 39:01Speaker 4: The title is awful, right, It's like we've got the
- 39:04Speaker 4: shape of water. The Chronology of what. Okay, the trailer
- 39:11Speaker 4: doesn't match that title. It sounds more like a documentary.
- 39:14Speaker 4: And there's this weird picture of her as like the
- 39:21Speaker 4: like one of the promotional images, and it looks like
- 39:24Speaker 4: she's being abducted by aliens, is what it looks like.
- 39:27Speaker 2: Yeah, it is. She still making the same face, or
- 39:29Speaker 2: she actually.
- 39:29Speaker 4: Looks scared, her faces pointed towards the sky like she's
- 39:34Speaker 4: ah and she's being you know, and just lulled back
- 39:37Speaker 4: and being pulled up but still in the water. And
- 39:40Speaker 4: I don't know it's complete.
- 39:42Speaker 3: Side note.
- 39:43Speaker 1: Yeah, either of y'all ever read about how brutal the
- 39:47Speaker 1: filming of The Abyss was.
- 39:51Speaker 2: I know, I've seen a documentary on it, and I
- 39:53Speaker 2: remember who was it. Was it Sigourney Weaver or was
- 39:58Speaker 2: it Ed Harris. Someone talked about how they basically did
- 40:00Speaker 2: drown in one of those scenes.
- 40:02Speaker 1: Ed Harris basically for years just he refused to talk
- 40:06Speaker 1: about it, but yeah, I said he nearly drowned.
- 40:08Speaker 4: Uh, Like.
- 40:12Speaker 1: I saw something and I was just reading about it.
- 40:15Speaker 1: It was like evidently like they were all like, we're
- 40:18Speaker 1: gonna die filming this movie.
- 40:21Speaker 3: And it worked. It's It's one of my all time
- 40:25Speaker 3: favorite movies.
- 40:26Speaker 4: But yeah, it's a good movie.
- 40:29Speaker 2: That one is up there on a on a Treehouse
- 40:32Speaker 2: review list. I would think, I have not seen that
- 40:34Speaker 2: movie in so long, but I still remember seeing it
- 40:39Speaker 2: in the theater and how surprised I was at that ending.
- 40:43Speaker 2: I was like, oh, I wasn't expecting. I was expecting
- 40:45Speaker 2: some sort of like space flood, not space, but I
- 40:47Speaker 2: was expecting some sort of like sea monster kind of
- 40:50Speaker 2: a thing, and instead it was like alien stuff that
- 40:53Speaker 2: was totally new to me. And I was like nine
- 40:55Speaker 2: when it came out. So yeah, Kristen Stewart thirty six today,
- 40:59Speaker 2: other birthdays, didn't Quaid seventy two? You talk about Hollywood
- 41:04Speaker 2: legend that dude's done at all. Dennis Quaid seventy two
- 41:07Speaker 2: years old, And Jerry you mentioned it unintentionally earlier in
- 41:10Speaker 2: this episode. One of my favorite Dennis Quaid movies in
- 41:14Speaker 2: her Space. In her Space, Yeah, Dennis Quaid, Meg Ryan, Ah,
- 41:20Speaker 2: it's usually the first movie I think when you mentioned
- 41:22Speaker 2: Dennis Quaid Martin Short. I also think about the movie
- 41:26Speaker 2: The Uh. I forgot the name of it, but it's
- 41:28Speaker 2: one where he it's based on a on a real story,
- 41:31Speaker 2: the middle aged little League coach turned professional baseball player
- 41:36Speaker 2: because during the strike of the nineties and they bring
- 41:39Speaker 2: in the scab players, this guy can still throw like
- 41:44Speaker 2: ninety something miles an hour.
- 41:45Speaker 4: The rookie, the rookie, Yes, yeah, he also did great
- 41:49Speaker 4: Balls of Fire that was really good.
- 41:52Speaker 2: And but for the rookie when they actually they actually
- 41:54Speaker 2: shot that at the stadium in Arlington, and I was
- 41:58Speaker 2: there that night when they shot the stuff for the
- 42:02Speaker 2: movie as he's warming up in the bullpen and coming out.
- 42:04Speaker 2: That was a fun night. That was really cool.
- 42:09Speaker 3: What else are you saying, tre Oh, and survived Randy too.
- 42:15Speaker 2: That may be his ultimate achievement. Yeah, because not everyone has.
- 42:20Speaker 2: Elle Fanning twenty eight years old. She's of the Fanning family,
- 42:25Speaker 2: the Fanning sisters. Dakota, I guess, is the one that's
- 42:27Speaker 2: slightly better known, slightly better successful. Dakota Fanning was the
- 42:31Speaker 2: one who was in I Am Sam with Sean Penn.
- 42:35Speaker 2: Elle Fanning was actually the movie I just saw the
- 42:37Speaker 2: other day, which is Predator bad Lands. She plays the
- 42:42Speaker 2: like Seth or Madrid. Yeah, she plays the Android and
- 42:46Speaker 2: Predator bad Lands, which can I just say real quickly
- 42:49Speaker 2: from a selfish standpoint, all the New Predator movies, Okay,
- 42:52Speaker 2: not all. A lot of the new Predator movies are
- 42:55Speaker 2: really really good, pray fantastic. It may actually be my
- 43:02Speaker 2: favorite Predator movie. And I know that that's sacrilegious to
- 43:04Speaker 2: the entire franchise, because you know, the first one should
- 43:07Speaker 2: be probably.
- 43:08Speaker 3: There's always number two.
- 43:13Speaker 1: You mean, how you mean Religi against a franchise that
- 43:19Speaker 1: had Predator too.
- 43:21Speaker 2: Yes, I see what you mean, thank you. Yeah, that's
- 43:24Speaker 2: a solid point. As much as I actually enjoyed Predator too, uh,
- 43:29Speaker 2: mainly because it hit at the right time, because it
- 43:32Speaker 2: had it had moobies in it, and I was of
- 43:35Speaker 2: the age. I was like, yeah, but if you have
- 43:38Speaker 2: not seen Prey, it is so so good. Before that,
- 43:43Speaker 2: the Adrian Brody Predator movie, I think it was just
- 43:46Speaker 2: called Predators, where a bunch of Earthlings get you know,
- 43:49Speaker 2: kidnapped and dropped onto this hunting planet for the Predators.
- 43:53Speaker 2: That was also really really good. That was fun, and
- 43:56Speaker 2: in addition to Adrian Brody, it also has a couple
- 43:58Speaker 2: other recognizable faces including what's his name from that seventies
- 44:03Speaker 2: show who's actually really good in that as well. But
- 44:07Speaker 2: Predator bad Lands really really good. That was fun. Other
- 44:10Speaker 2: birthdays Today, Litl nas X is twenty seven, still going
- 44:15Speaker 2: by little. One of my favorite third basemen in the nineties,
- 44:19Speaker 2: Dante Bischett is sixty three today. He was part of
- 44:23Speaker 2: the Colorado Rockies. And today is Hugh Hefner's birthday. But
- 44:29Speaker 2: he's dead. If he was still alive, he'd be one
- 44:31Speaker 2: hundred and probably damn near broke because all of his
- 44:35Speaker 2: former girlfriends probably would have sued his ass into the poorhouse.
- 44:38Speaker 2: By Now.
- 44:41Speaker 3: That's an interesting one because you read some of the
- 44:45Speaker 3: stories and you're like, okay, yeah, but also you knew
- 44:52Speaker 3: what you were getting into. I mean, after Playboy, Like what.
- 44:58Speaker 2: It's an eighty year old man, why do you think
- 45:00Speaker 2: you're there.
- 45:01Speaker 1: I didn't even know Playboy was still around, And it was,
- 45:04Speaker 1: in fact, yesterday I saw some pop star I.
- 45:07Speaker 3: Have no idea who it was.
- 45:08Speaker 1: Was like, oh, yeah, she just you know, posed in Playboy,
- 45:10Speaker 1: and like, oh, I.
- 45:13Speaker 3: Had no idea.
- 45:15Speaker 4: I didn't.
- 45:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I think. I think at one point they tried
- 45:19Speaker 2: to double down on the articles, just be like yeah,
- 45:22Speaker 2: it's because because you can't compete with internet porn. So
- 45:24Speaker 2: they were like okay, uhb, we were really all about
- 45:27Speaker 2: the articles. Now now I guess they've swung back.
- 45:29Speaker 3: Playboy used to actually have really good articles.
- 45:32Speaker 4: Yeah, and that's what I mean. I think.
- 45:34Speaker 2: I think at one point they're trying to decide in
- 45:36Speaker 2: the in the transition from the print to digital age,
- 45:39Speaker 2: they're like, Okay, well, we can't really keep up with
- 45:42Speaker 2: the porn and the digital stuff because we're not you know,
- 45:45Speaker 2: we're classy, but we just so. I think what they
- 45:47Speaker 2: did was they just tried to focus on like the
- 45:49Speaker 2: article content for a while, which especially when it's like,
- 45:54Speaker 2: if you've got a starlet that wants to pose in
- 45:57Speaker 2: that way, why would she do it with Playboy when
- 46:00Speaker 2: she could do it herself and own everything. But still,
- 46:08Speaker 2: I'm I'm glad to know, despite all of its shortcomings
- 46:12Speaker 2: and it's modern standard problems, I'm glad that we got troped.
- 46:20Speaker 2: I'm glad that we got to grow up in the
- 46:22Speaker 2: time of Playboy because that really and truly helped shape me.
- 46:28Speaker 2: It might be to the left because of it, but.
- 46:32Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, as a kid, if you found a Playboy,
- 46:36Speaker 1: that was just gold mine.
- 46:40Speaker 4: Mm hmmm h.
- 46:46Speaker 2: And that was that was one of the that was
- 46:47Speaker 2: one of the things I loved about going to visit
- 46:49Speaker 2: my dad was that he didn't even hide them. They
- 46:51Speaker 2: were just in the in the basket next to the toilets, like, yeah,
- 46:54Speaker 2: here we go. Yeah, it was a different time.
- 47:01Speaker 4: It was m.
- 47:05Speaker 2: Okay, now that we've done all of this, do you
- 47:08Speaker 2: want to hear about pig seaman eye drops or blaming
- 47:11Speaker 2: the dog for murder?
- 47:15Speaker 4: Wow?
- 47:19Speaker 3: I want to go blaming the dog.
- 47:22Speaker 2: Interesting you went the route I wouldn't have expected you
- 47:25Speaker 2: to go.
- 47:26Speaker 3: Oh, I mean we can go either direction.
- 47:31Speaker 2: Wait, you picked Dan, No, this is choose your own adventure.
- 47:34Speaker 2: We're closing out the week. We'll go with the dog.
- 47:37Speaker 4: Did it?
- 47:37Speaker 2: As soon as I can get my internet to unclinch
- 47:40Speaker 2: her mm hmmmm. This one's local. The Fort Worth man
- 47:47Speaker 2: has been sentenced to prison for the death of his
- 47:50Speaker 2: girlfriend that he blamed.
- 47:51Speaker 4: On the dog.
- 47:55Speaker 2: Okay, just a defense attorney's wet dream, right. A Fort
- 48:01Speaker 2: Worth influencer will spend decades in prison after pleading guilty
- 48:04Speaker 2: on charges relating to the death of his girlfriend in
- 48:07Speaker 2: twenty twenty three, an incident he originally blamed on his dog.
- 48:12Speaker 2: A thirty four year old Caleb Mickens received a forty
- 48:15Speaker 2: year prison sentence after accepting a plea deal on a
- 48:18Speaker 2: first degree aggravated assault charge related to the death of
- 48:21Speaker 2: Sheila Quavis. He was also sentenced to twenty years on
- 48:25Speaker 2: a probation erification and fifteen years for aggravated assault with
- 48:28Speaker 2: a deadly weapon, both from charges in Dallas County. They
- 48:31Speaker 2: were unable to pursue a murder charge after complications with
- 48:34Speaker 2: the medical examiner proving the cause of death in the case.
- 48:39Speaker 2: On October eighth, twenty twenty three, Mickens called nine to
- 48:42Speaker 2: one one and said his dog attacked Quavis and she
- 48:45Speaker 2: was no longer breathing. She was found at the foot
- 48:48Speaker 2: of her bed with several broken ribs and puncture wounds.
- 48:51Speaker 2: The dog was euthanized following the incident. However, Mickens was
- 48:53Speaker 2: later arrested in charge with aggravated assault. Investigators determined he
- 48:57Speaker 2: had drugged and beat her to death and that the
- 48:59Speaker 2: dog had nothing to do with it.
- 49:03Speaker 4: That's not usually a dog's m It's really not. They
- 49:06Speaker 4: don't typically do that.
- 49:08Speaker 2: Mickens, who went by the nickname Cash Cardier, was involved
- 49:12Speaker 2: in the multi level marketing scheme i am Academy. Prosecutors
- 49:17Speaker 2: said he was making around twenty grand a week at
- 49:19Speaker 2: the height of the scheme, and her death occurred at
- 49:22Speaker 2: a time when Mickens income from the scheme had considerably declined.
- 49:29Speaker 1: Who why did they even put Why did they put
- 49:34Speaker 1: the dog? I mean, really that that seemed it seemed
- 49:38Speaker 1: plausible that the dog bludgeoned her.
- 49:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm with you, Well, why are you so quick
- 49:43Speaker 2: to put down the dog? That's not right. Soldier had
- 49:49Speaker 2: nothing to do with it. Justice for Soldier. That's actually
- 49:54Speaker 2: the dog's name.
- 49:58Speaker 1: Yeah, that just seems, uh, seems rather hasty trial.
- 50:13Speaker 2: It was a chihuaha. I think it was actually like
- 50:18Speaker 2: a Rottweiler pit mixed kind of a thing. So it
- 50:21Speaker 2: was you know, this is a classic case of a
- 50:24Speaker 2: knee jerk reaction. The dog didn't get any sort of
- 50:27Speaker 2: due process. You just looked at the dog and said, yeah,
- 50:31Speaker 2: the dog probably did it because it fit the stereotype bastards.
- 50:39Speaker 4: The stereotype of the dogs who were to giving people
- 50:45Speaker 4: blue forced trauma.
- 50:47Speaker 2: I'm telling you, he used a lamp and then he
- 50:50Speaker 2: shoved in my ass. The dog's crazy. He's got to
- 50:55Speaker 2: be put down.
- 50:58Speaker 3: Dog's pointing a paw at him, going, I know.
