- 0:01We tend to accept the limitations of the sense organs
- 0:04and the mind as if they are axioms unable to be altered.
- 0:10We accept that blind people cannot see and that deaf people
- 0:14cannot hear. We believe we cannot interact
- 0:18with using the mind alone to communicate or to experience
- 0:23things at a distance. We tend to believe that the
- 0:27limits of our sense organs are fixed, and anything outside
- 0:31their normal range is simply imperceptible to us.
- 0:36What if, however, these limits which we accept are not the
- 0:41actual limits? We can observe that if we try to
- 0:45run or jump or swim, that with practice we can increase our
- 0:51ability, we can train our physical bodies to respond, and
- 0:56we can enhance what was formerly the natural capacity that we
- 1:01accepted as our limit of action at a certain level of training.
- 1:07We constantly find that world records for speed, height of
- 1:11jumping, distance of throwing, et cetera, are frequently being
- 1:16broken as individuals enhance beyond the limits that
- 1:21previously set those records. The widespread reports of out of
- 1:27body experiences highlight the artificial limitations we place
- 1:31on how we sense or perceive things.
- 1:34While we believe that our ability to see, hear, or
- 1:39otherwise sense things is tied to the physical body and its
- 1:42sense organs, the experience of those who have an out of body
- 1:47event make it clear this cannot be the case.
- 1:51The physical body is lying inert somewhere, while the awareness
- 1:55of the individual is outside the body, frequently looking at the
- 2:00body from a distance or from above.
- 2:03In such cases, the individual, once he returns to consciousness
- 2:08in the body, is able to accurately report what was
- 2:12taking place in the room, who was there, what they were doing,
- 2:17what the circumstances were, from a perspective that makes it
- 2:21clear that they were outside and observing the event.
- 2:27It is thus certain that the individual can perceive without
- 2:32use of the physical sense organs and can do so at a distance from
- 2:36those physical sense organs. The phenomenon of remote viewing
- 2:41also makes it clear that under certain circumstances,
- 2:45individuals can experience what is taking place at distances of
- 2:49many thousands of miles and report back on what is being
- 2:54viewed. This power has been widely
- 2:57researched and utilized by trained individuals in both a
- 3:01military and civilian setting, and courses are available to
- 3:06train people on how to hone this skill.
- 3:09Once again, there is no reliance on the sense organs of the
- 3:13physical body. Various spiritual practices
- 3:18utilize the power of visualization to create or
- 3:21recreate the atmosphere and vibration of a distant location.
- 3:26For instance, an individual may place himself in a sacred spot
- 3:31in his mind to awaken the force that is active in that location.
- 3:37There are also instances where yogic practitioners have been
- 3:41seen in multiple locations at the same time or have been
- 3:45observed in a palpable form and conversed with someone while at
- 3:50a physical distance. Paramount's Yogananda, in his
- 3:55Autobiography of a Yogi describes several such events to
- 3:59which he was personally the observer.
- 4:02The great Yogi of Tibet, Milarepa, was said to have
- 4:06appeared to his disciples concurrently in multiple
- 4:10locations to provide them a teaching at the time of his
- 4:15physical death, the mother writes.
- 4:18Quote. The field of our sense
- 4:21experience has an absolutely ridiculous limitation.
- 4:25While in the mind, if you think of someone or something, the
- 4:29city or a place, you are there immediately, instantaneously you
- 4:35see and you are there. It is not that you are not
- 4:39there. You are there and you can have
- 4:41so precise a mental contact that you can have a conversation, ask
- 4:47questions and receive answers on condition that the other person
- 4:52is fairly sensitive. Why?
- 4:54This is something which happens constantly, constantly.
- 4:59Only you must have a little knowledge naturally, for
- 5:02otherwise you don't even understand what is happening.
- 5:06Even physically with this, with the eyes, the nose, the fingers,
- 5:11the mouth, the ears. Oh, it is ridiculous.
- 5:16One can develop these if one wants.
- 5:19One can succeed, for example, in hearing something which occurs
- 5:22at a fairly great distance and hearing it physically, not by
- 5:27another means than the physical, but one must have a control over
- 5:31his senses and be able to prolong their vibrations
- 5:35sufficiently. 1 can see at a distance also, and not by an
- 5:41occult vision. One can manage to stretch his
- 5:44vision and if he knows how to prolong the vibration of his
- 5:48nerves outside the organ, he can prolong the contact.
- 5:53I don't say some kilometers away, no, but in a certain area,
- 5:58say for example through a wall, which is considered something
- 6:02impossible, one can see what is going on in a room which is
- 6:06separated from another by a wall.
- 6:09But a very methodical practice is necessary.
- 6:13Yet this is possible. Seeing, feeling, hearing.
- 6:19If one wants to take the trouble, one can enlarge his
- 6:22field considerably. But it asks for work, for
- 6:26perseverance, a kind of assiduous effort.
- 6:31Why? It has even been found that one
- 6:33can develop other visual centres than the eye.
- 6:36It has been tried out with people who for some reason or
- 6:39other, have no vision in the eye.
- 6:42One can develop other centres or another center of vision by a
- 6:47continuous methodical effort. Jules Roman has written a book
- 6:53about it. He himself conducted experiments
- 6:57and obtained very conclusive results.
- 7:01This means that we have a number of possibilities which we let
- 7:05sleep within us because we don't take the trouble to develop them
- 7:09very much. We can do infinitely more than
- 7:13we actually do, but we take things like that as they come.
