- 0:11[SPEAKER_00]: Hit on over to milehighhuddle.com to sound off on all things Broncos.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_02]: We're live all across the board, welcome in welcome in at Tuesday night, the 20th of January already.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_02]: Man, I feel like it was just a month past Christmas already.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_02]: It's unbelievable.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_02]: Time flies.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_02]: I'm Nick Kendall joined by Carl Dunmore.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_02]: This is building the Broncos Carl.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_02]: How are you doing tonight?
- 0:36[SPEAKER_02]: And man, what a great game.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_02]: Mix of emotions.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, but what a great game on Saturday.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_01]: I really wished on had given us just one night to celebrate.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, part of me, like I get it, he wanted the players to hear it from him, not from Adam Shefter.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but man, having 45 minutes of just pure bliss, I watched the game with my wife and kids.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_01]: I'd made this huge playoff spread of food.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't hardly any of it because I was so nervous watching the game.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_01]: But.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_01]: You know, just jumping up for joy with my kids, yelling, screaming, you know, people around town were like, oh, I'm pretty sure we heard you guys yelling from your house.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_01]: And then like I said, 45 minutes later, and our group chat that we have, somebody put in that camera who it was was like, phonics, for example, out for the season.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, it really felt like somebody just came by and punched me in the gut.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_01]: and not that I don't think that they can, I still think they got a good chance to go win this game.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_01]: They've got plenty of defensive players.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's at home.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_01]: He might be getting JK Dobbins back.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe you'll have a run game, Martin.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Martin could be back.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_01]: Stitham's not the worst backup out there by any means.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_01]: He can go out there and have himself a good game.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_01]: But still, the idea of Drake may first bone-nix,
- 2:11[SPEAKER_01]: opportunity to go to the suit well I know they're not they're not playing against each other per se in that sense but but still there's something to say about that and and to have that taken away it just it is it's devastating to see and so yeah like I said it's it's bittersweet I I love it that we won and it was a great game and it was easy to see buffalo was probably the worst opponent for us to have in the playoffs
- 2:38[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, on the AFC side, yeah, on the AFC side, I should say Seattle is not a good match of roots and any sense of that.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll see who gets the Super Bowl.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_01]: But I saw a couple of questions about that and we'll get to the commentary in just a minute.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_01]: But the fact the Broncos were able to still come out the win.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_01]: What was pretty awesome to see.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_01]: And for Botanix to outdo a Josh Allen like that.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_01]: And, and I kind of love there's one media guy today who hates Bonyx, and he was talking about, and he goes, you know, when the bills had to kick a fuel goal, he said my first thought was Bonyx is going to go tie this game up.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_01]: He was like, I, I, and it was in that moment when I all said thought that I was like, oh crap, this is actually a good quarterback.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_01]: If that's
- 3:34[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he's hated Botanix, he's been for a couple of years now saying that he's going to be gone from the league here in just a couple of years.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_01]: And he said, that was the moment that he was like, crap, I have to admit this guy's a good quarterback.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_01]: If that's what I'm thinking in the biggest moment, he's going to go down in score.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_01]: That means something.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_01]: And so, and the fact that he did and like I said, just have that in the way that it did with the entry and stuff.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_01]: after he goes down and wins it no over time like that.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_01]: And it stinks.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_01]: I know Buffalo Bill's fans are complaining about the officiating.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm kind of like, you know, we'd still have our quarterback if they'd call the holding penalty.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_01]: Spencer Brown, after the game, he was talking about and they were asking about the officiating.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_01]: He said, I held people like, I held Jonathan Cooper like crazy through the entire game.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_01]: They didn't call it.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, so I was a little bit shocked when they started calling penalties.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_01]: But it's like, you knew you were doing penalties.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_01]: You just were like, well, there's Lenin's get away with it.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_01]: And I get his player standpoint, like, you're gonna try to tow that line of what can I get away with?
- 4:39[SPEAKER_01]: What can I not?
- 4:40[SPEAKER_01]: But still, like I said, that holding pilly, we still have our quarterback.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_01]: If they'd called that safety, the holding in the inzone, and we'd be talking about bone-experts Drake May.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_02]: But to your point earlier, Carl, it's not bone-next versus Drake May.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_02]: It's the Broncos versus the Patriots.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_02]: And the Broncos are putting at all the signals that they have a lot of confidence in their quarterback.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I absolutely love, you know, I say every show now, I'm so Sean Payton-Killed.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_02]: And he may be an A-hole, but he's R-A-hole, copying Scott on that one.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_02]: He's always used to say, but,
- 5:17[SPEAKER_02]: he came out of me like oh yeah we have full you could have just given you know the PR corporate answer you know we have full faith we brought them in ball of eyes like he said just watch like he is going to be good and i know that from the players that are going to get some in practice as well i mean Jared stood him in sling it now he was a backup quarterback for a reason and the spread is what five and a half now uh even gone towards the patriots more which
- 5:43[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, how could you bet on this game?
- 5:45[SPEAKER_02]: It's just such an unknown variable all around.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I would probably speak on the Broncos, but Broncos beat him.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_02]: I'd be like, oh, yeah, so not surprise.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_02]: Jared stood on moments too big for him and they get beaten.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_02]: They just can't completely enough pass as like, well, what do you expect?
- 6:00[SPEAKER_02]: He was a backup quarterback who hasn't played meaningful football since 2023.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll see how it plays out.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_02]: But to answer one question, Carl, that we've had on the show, we tease it a few times.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_02]: The season's been a success and it's just how's money from here for the Broncos and they have a chance to do something miraculous and something that we Probably more miraculous than the 2015 Super Bowl when they carried the zombie of corpse of Peyton Manning to Super Bowl and this would be this would be up there if not surpass it, but it's
- 6:41[SPEAKER_02]: Coming in here David Michael Rath good to see a $2 super chat EC.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_02]: He says good evening Broncos country hash tag 17 and three.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_02]: Let's just get that.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_02]: Let's get one more and we'll see where it goes from there.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_02]: But I appreciate your pop up there.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_02]: We also got $2 coming in from E dude music saying how loud do we expect the crowd to be.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_02]: I expect them to be pretty loud.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I don't know.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_02]: They obviously have a do good job with the cameras where they're not.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_02]: bolted like into the ground right so like otherwise they would be like really shaking but even some of the ones where they were there's an obvious like a cameraman on the field like zooming in on the coaches film kind of angle like on the quarterback you could see the camera shaking and I expected to be shaking again now I know the ticket market second hand ticket market whatever you call it dropped a bit after the bonus in dream news which not shocking but I've also seen I don't know if you've seen the Patriots fans
- 7:34[SPEAKER_02]: Moning is being the second word.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_02]: I can say that one on here or not, maybe no, I don't know, but But they're not selling tickets.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_02]: There's like a geo area where you can only buy them from.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_02]: So like if you're in Boston trying to buy tickets on I believe ticket master You can't buy the AFC Championship game at least at this point.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not sure exactly how it proceeds if there's still some available True the demand is way higher than the supply so not a problem, but I expected to be Pretty darn loud and the fans are going to you
- 8:03[SPEAKER_02]: May the Broncos make the Super Bowl the fans are 100% a key reason that this happened, having the home for the advantage and the fans making Drake may, and at offensive lines, life hell.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I saw a stat earlier and it said something like, since the year 2000, there's only been two times that an edge guy had three sacks and two four spumbles.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_01]: Both have happened against the Patriots this year
- 8:34[SPEAKER_01]: Nick Bonito, getting that little bit of step, that could be the difference of him getting that strip sack.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_01]: And if we can get turnovers like we did last week and limit our turnovers, not be the CJ Straud handing them those five interceptions, ridiculous.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, when you can throw the ball into the ground, every single snap and have a higher quarterback rating,
- 8:57[SPEAKER_01]: That's not a, that's not a good game.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it, somebody asked the question like, maybe we should investigate, shroud for putting money on the Patriots to win that game.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_01]: And he looked bad.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know why that.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_01]: I don't either, but still, yeah, there it is, there it is, there it is, I knew I'd read it somewhere earlier today, and so yeah, like I said, real opportunity for Nick Bonito to go out there and do something big in this game and become even more of a legend in Broncos history, you know, Von Miller's got that history.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_01]: Nick Bonito could start getting his name mentioned among those like top three greatest edge players in Broncos history.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_01]: If he goes out and wreaks havoc from that edge position.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_01]: And I really think he's going to have himself a good game.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, I saw somebody earlier asked that question of like, what was our problem on defense against the bills?
- 9:49[SPEAKER_01]: They're big.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_01]: This defense struggles against big bully offensive lines.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_01]: Patriots don't have that.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_01]: They're a little bit more finesse in how they go about their business.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_01]: And I do think some of their guys are playing out a position.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_01]: We talked about earlier before we ever got on the show of probably Campbell should be inside, not playing tackle.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_01]: but he's there right now.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_01]: And so that's something the Brock has really have to take advantage of, like I said, especially being at home.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_01]: This is where you have the biggest plus compared to what they are.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_01]: And Drake may, I think he's in two games, he's taken 15 sacks already here in the playoffs.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_02]: One thing I will point out about Drake may sacks, and I'm gonna drink my fancenses, sophomore year of college.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_02]: But while he doesn't take a lot of sacks,
- 10:40[SPEAKER_02]: Countwise, they're always for like one or two yards.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_02]: So like they don't have the same effect as like, Russell Wilson trying to bail out the backside of the pocket and the next thing you know is a 15-yard sack.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_02]: He does a really good job of climbing.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_02]: So he will get tackable behind the line of the screen and that's great, but obviously a 15-yard sack is a lot different than a one-yard sack.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be a fascinating matchup, obviously, and I'm going to be really curious to see how the Patriots come out and play the Broncos on both sides of the ball.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_02]: They're going to be a little bit more conservative, considering what the offensive line of the Patriots has looked like the last couple weeks.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_02]: Drake may also put in the ball in harm's way, a bit more strip sacks and everything like that.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_02]: And on the defense, they've been very much a man.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_02]: oriented team.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_02]: They have one of the best man cornerbacks in football in Gonzalez from Oregon by way of CPU, so shout it to them for that.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_02]: But they go more zone.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, Sean Payton and Jared Stitton, I think they can probably dial up some man coverage beaters, but zones a little bit more on the quarter back to
- 11:42[SPEAKER_02]: Pick through and find the right spot.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll see, it's going to be absolutely fascinating.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_02]: We got Ralph, don't think the Patriots often says much of a chance against the Broncos.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_02]: Stadium needs to be better than CJ.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I always come back to this and it's kind of, if you guys have been following me long enough, I have football as a complex game, but it's very silly stupid at the end of the day too.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_02]: Protect the football, take the ball away and win on the win of Scrimmage.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_02]: You're going to win 95% of the games.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_02]: past like third down and red zone conversion, like you have a big special teams turning play, sure.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_02]: If you went along the lines of scrimmage, and you win the turnover battle, you're winning the frickin' football game.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_02]: And that's something I think this Broncos team can do, they obviously, emphatically won the turnover battle against the bills.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_02]: And I mean, that's the reason that we're here today, Carl, talking about the Broncos and the Patriots without that plus four in the turnover differential.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_02]: The number does not win.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_02]: They don't even force a frickin' punt.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_02]: They get five takeaways.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_02]: Plus four, I mean, I think the stats are being plus four in your winning percentage is like, I think teams who have a plus four
- 12:49[SPEAKER_02]: when 96.97% of the time, and it's ridiculous, it's just stealing possession.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_02]: So I protect the football, take the frickin' ball away, and win along the lines of skirmish.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_02]: And if you understand that, you kind of understand a lot of my personal ethos of team building as well.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_02]: Like, why do receivers are fun?
- 13:05[SPEAKER_02]: I know you, why do receiver guys?
- 13:06[SPEAKER_02]: Well, Carl.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_02]: I don't give a hoot about it if you're getting your, you know, what pushed in a long line of scrimmage.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_02]: And then there's defense to some extent in the run game did on Saturday.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_02]: So luckily that's not, you're not coming against a hooking offensive line and power run game for these Patriots.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_02]: Then we're just going to have to limit the explosives.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_02]: That's probably the big key for this one on the defense, Drake may will push the ball and
- 13:34[SPEAKER_02]: Touchdown runs at any rookie in like the last 15 years or something, but can they do this stuff down to down?
- 13:41[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much, Ralph.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_02]: We got some more super chats coming in here.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that was a super chat.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much, Ralph.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_02]: Also, Phil, good evening, Nick Carl and Deacon Scott.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_02]: No matter what happens, this has been a fantastic season.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_02]: If the Deacon finally play like they did before the break, we got a chance.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_02]: They don't even have to play like they did before the break.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_02]: Can we get another five takeaway game?
- 14:00[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that was, I was, I was elevated, levitated during that, even though they were getting, you know, pushed in a bit on the run game and couldn't stop Josh Allen on like third and two or less any time, which who can.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_02]: But I was feeling pretty pretty good about the takeaways.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you've always got to feel good when your team's getting five takeaways.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_01]: And I mean, like I said, we don't win that game
- 14:26[SPEAKER_01]: because otherwise the defense was just getting completely obliterated.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_01]: And there's about the only way that they could get a stop was to get a turnover.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_01]: So hopefully we're going to see that again this week.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_01]: Drake may not agree to holding on to the ball.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_01]: He does hold it out there just like Josh Allen.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_01]: And so we'll see about that.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe he can throw a couple of picks towards our way.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_01]: He forces a couple throws.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_01]: He is known to do some of that.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_01]: And what was that to say about that?
- 14:52[SPEAKER_02]: Go ahead.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_02]: I was going to say.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_02]: talking though about turnovers has got me thinking food and that has me thinking about our buddies over at Goldbilly.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_01]: That's right guys.

- 16:43[SPEAKER_02]: Always good to see a chase in here.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_02]: Appreciate you.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_02]: What would wrong with the defense?
- 16:49[SPEAKER_02]: They were getting blown back on the line of scrimmage.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't so much.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_02]: a lot of time to talk about things, but it wasn't so much the interior defensive line as it what issues with the edges and the linebackers is what it is.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I really respect the guy as a great player.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_02]: Jonathan Cooper has not been playing good football since the
- 17:18[SPEAKER_02]: Green Las has not been this doesn't look like San Francisco Green La ever since I brought him in which not shocking, but you you don't really have that.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_02]: Doesn't have the speed and explosiveness that you used to have, I guess we'll put it that way.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_01]: He's had two two memorable moments this season and that's well, two great memorable moments, one really terrible memorable moment of him getting suspended.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_01]: But the goal line stand against Houston and then the big intersection that he had.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_01]: Those were the only two really big time positive things that I can think of.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_01]: And it's why right before the game, I think my classed tweeted out something about, hey, it looks like Strenaud's gonna start this game.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, okay, I think we got a chance.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't mean to speak ill of Greenlaw, but I think right now, Strenaud's the better starter.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_01]: He's been a very quality guy out there for them.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_01]: And like I said, the live backers are times where they were getting out of position.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_01]: Buffalo builds that a lot of good work of making your eyes look in multiple directions.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_01]: You know, having a guy cutting a cross where you don't know if they're going to run a jet sweep.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_01]: You don't know is Josh Allen going to hold on to it is he handing it off.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_01]: And so you've got almost like this three way look of where the ball's trying to go.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of old school high school, where you got to almost the the wishbone.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, we used to play a team that they'd have their running backs out almost as tight in and they'd have them cut across in the quarterback to be standing there and you'd have to tackle all three of them every single play because you never had any clue who had the ball.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_01]: And there's one play you're talking about Jonathan Cooper, where he got caught in a blender.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_01]: He had no clue where to go.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_01]: Did Josh Allen have it?
- 19:05[SPEAKER_01]: Did the running back have it?
- 19:06[SPEAKER_01]: And he just kind of stood there.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_01]: And the running back just ran right by him.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_01]: And it was just kind of that way where that confusion was happening.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_01]: Now thankfully, Patriots don't do that as much.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_01]: There's not going to be as much.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_01]: things going on in the run game.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_01]: Like I said, it's the explosives that they'll have a lot of one yard two yard three yard carries and then all send a fifty yard carry.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_01]: You cannot have that happen in this game.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_01]: You have to keep that run game under under ropes and then and then the explosive plays in the past game Houston did a great job the entire game other than like three passes.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_01]: where they allowed these big plays over the top.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_01]: Now thankfully, gets the bills.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_01]: I think Josh Allen went over nine on passes of 20 yards or further and through two picks.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_01]: We need that again.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_02]: Very possible.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_02]: Drake may will sling the ball out there.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_02]: And one thing also I will say just from the defense and vans Joseph.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_02]: HaFong has been incredible for the Broncos this season.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_02]: When Denver's been playing in one high safety shells, teams have been targeting Hephanga in coverage or singleton.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_02]: There's still useful players, a ball's got to go somewhere and the other guys on the other side are paid to coordinate and get guys open and try to, you know, prod spots as well and have found a coverage has not been ideal.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_02]: So I'll be curious to see if we see more to high coverage, cover two, cover four, rather than you'll cover one, cover three that you've seen a lot from Denver, considering those weaknesses that we've seen somewhat.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_02]: But this was, it was a tough matchup for the Broncos
- 20:45[SPEAKER_02]: Again, like you took the ball away five freaking times and like they were not all Gimmies either like you took the ball away that counts for some.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so we don't want to sit here And you want the game because of the defense in large part now.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_02]: They were in it because the defense for a large part, too But still, it's still a good defense.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_02]: Is it the 2015 defense?
- 21:02[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, no, is it as good of a defense as what we saw from the Texans or the Seahawks this season?
- 21:08[SPEAKER_02]: Probably not, but guess what you got two games left to James and narrative and right now it's about
- 21:14[SPEAKER_02]: Again, winning along the freaking lines of skirmish and winning the GD turnover battle.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_02]: Michael Rankio coming in $5.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_02]: Run the ball and play Axel and Jared stood him to open up the deep ball throws for touchdowns.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'll be really curious to see what the Patriots do defensively.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_02]: They're much more of a man oriented team.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_02]: Not a lot of disguise in their coverages when they have a corner back like they do.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_02]: I do think the probably be aggressive with their pass rush.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_02]: I'm guessing they're going to be sending bodies just kind of test still getting hit and how he is what he plays like when he's a little bit more underdress and that's obviously Bonix's super power as a quarterback is avoiding those sacks and those negative plays.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't know we'll see for that but one thing I will say about
- 21:58[SPEAKER_02]: going to Jared stood him and said a bonnet because like it's going to force Sean Peyton to run the football and run the football at the running backs.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_02]: Now, is that going to be a good thing?
- 22:09[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, but I'm looking forward to a little bit more balance because I always thought the past distribution on top of using bonnet's as a design runner was not sustainable.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't
- 22:23[SPEAKER_02]: you know, got to leave it all out there, whatever the, in the water boy, right?
- 22:28[SPEAKER_02]: The last game of the year got to leave it all on the field.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_02]: But I think that, hopefully, we find a little bit more down-to-down success and commitment to the run game.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_01]: If J.K. Dobbins is back this week, what do you think are the realistic expectations for him returning from injury?
- 22:48[SPEAKER_02]: I think you're probably talking about 15 snaps.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_02]: 10 carries for hopefully five yards per clip.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_02]: I think Wattenberg honestly is as big of a conversation for that as well, because he's been playing pretty well, but I don't know.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_02]: We'll find out a lot more tomorrow on Wednesday.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_02]: It does sound like he's going to be back out there.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_02]: What does that look like following, Liz Frank?
- 23:11[SPEAKER_02]: Lynn's Frank injury.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_02]: I always get the spawning of that one, correct.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_02]: But we'll see.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_02]: But boy, I just hope that they are able to find a little bit more balance.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_02]: Just to protect Stidham and the offensive line somewhat.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and keep the ball out of Drake May's hands.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, like I said, you cannot rockals don't win this game if Gerard stood in this drop-in-back 40 times in this game.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_01]: No way.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_01]: I think you've got a shoot for it, keep it him under 30 pass attempts.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_01]: If you really think this offense is going to be able to move, and like I said, you're hoping that it does make you commit more to the run game, lean into those guys.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_01]: I think that might have been one of my bigger frustrations there at the end of the game.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_01]: If you're just going to have somebody move it to the left side of the line of scrimmage to maybe have a better chance that if you'll go, it would be a running back.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_01]: Don't make your quarterback take another hit, you know, and I get both, both running backs had fumbled earlier in the game.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe it's that trust factor of I only trust Bo next to have the ball in his hands.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_01]: I think we've seen that ever since JK Dobbins went down that Trump patent doesn't really trust anybody else.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_01]: And it's that brand.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_01]: That's true.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_01]: But still, I just, at some point, especially now, your guys down, you're going to have to put your trust in these other guys and just say, hey, everybody has to raise their level even one more step because our guys down defense, you guys got to be able to keep them under 20 points.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_01]: Offence, you got to be able to make the right plays, receivers, catch the passes when they're there.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_01]: little Jordan Humphrey doesn't drop an easy touch down.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it doesn't get much easier than that.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_01]: And maybe the sun was in his eyes.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, I mean, I'm not, but still, you're paid to make that kind of catch.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_01]: And,
- 25:10[SPEAKER_01]: So those kind of things, they just, everybody else has to make that step up.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_01]: You cannot have those little mistakes that add up to big things at the end of the game.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_01]: Bonex was able to cover a lot of that stuff up because it was like, oh, well, we dropped one there.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_01]: He can go pick up this third down play now and we'll be fine.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_01]: That's probably not helped happening with Stitham.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_01]: about we got Roy Osborne coming in saying good evening, Nick and Carl and all of Broncos, good to see you, Roy.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_01]: Good to see you, Roy.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_01]: Good to see you, Roy.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_01]: Good to see you, Roy.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_01]: Go ahead.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_01]: Go ahead.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_01]: Becoming in saying, ain't nothing like a city party.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_01]: You know, that's a great thing.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_01]: He goes and wins two games.
- 25:48[SPEAKER_01]: That guy is Broncos legend for the next 100 years.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_01]: He should never move away from Denver for the rest of his life because he'll never have to pay for a meal, never have to pay
- 26:01[SPEAKER_01]: somebody might just go buy in my house and town say, hey, stay here in Denver.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_01]: This is the city house.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_01]: You know, that's how big that would be.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_01]: It's like Nick Folls with the Eagles and how much his run meant for them.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_01]: And I love that Nick Folls tweeted out something about that, hey, back up quarterbacks, they can't beat the Patriots.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_01]: And so we got Ralph coming to say, I feel opposite of you, Carl Dumbler.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_01]: I want me to have the ball because he's
- 26:29[SPEAKER_01]: He might, I mean, it may is going to have the ball.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just saying, probably the goal in this game is limit the number of drives that you're opposing team has, you know, a little bit of how the broadcast played the last couple games of the season where you're trying to keep them under eight drives for the game.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_01]: If you can do that, you probably stand at a pretty decent chance of keeping it close and maybe in the fourth quarter
- 26:59[SPEAKER_01]: But if you are, if you're doing everything quick, if you're having these three doubts and letting Drake make it out there, yeah, he might have a couple turnovers, but then he's probably also gonna have a couple explosive plays that are gonna lead to kind of what happened against Houston, 2016 kind of game.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_02]: We will see, it'd be great if PS2 could join in on that.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_02]: I'm imagining just how the Patriots personnel lines up, you're gonna see PS2 on,
- 27:26[SPEAKER_02]: But I can never pronounce a name on Bootay, Kishan, boot, whatever, I've read it 10,000 times and haven't heard it much, so it's kind of stuck in my head that way.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_02]: But and then they're going to try to isolate digs as much as possible as a slot in a Z.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see what Denver's move is.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, Kishan is much more of the X body type, that unbeliever will touch on catch in that game against Houston, but in
- 27:52[SPEAKER_02]: You know, if Diggs is beaten up, maybe they'll switch something up.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_02]: I'm hoping that the refs swallow their whistles, like they did though, as well, shout out to a Bradley Moss for finally having a 50 51, not go against him.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_02]: So appreciate it that from the refs.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_02]: I do want to say a little to some more folks coming in.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_02]: Eat dude, music, say Nick Benito to man.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm excited for him to have.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_02]: a great great game day.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_02]: I'm very sports happy Tuesday.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_02]: What's up, everyone?
- 28:17[SPEAKER_02]: Appreciate you.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_02]: I saw Albert Knoppers in the house.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_02]: I always appreciate Albert Mark Kennedy, our guy, Pearl heater in the house to hope you're doing well.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_02]: Pearl and Oklahoma.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_02]: Kansas, either way.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_02]: Hopefully, Corgue's are keeping you warm.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_02]: Looks like it might be a cold spell.
- 28:31[SPEAKER_02]: I wonder how Scott's going to do a down there in Atlanta if the South could sit with the snow that they're talking about.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if it's going to hit them exactly.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_02]: But, uh,
- 28:39[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if they're ready for it down there.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_02]: We did want to talk about Carl though, of course, of what former teammate of Jared's to them.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_02]: And long time Bronco tormentor Max Crossby had to say about Jared's to them.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_02]: So he was in an interview, said a lot of things to check it out over at Mile High Huddle.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_02]: He said, didn't have it on my bingo card to have Jared's to them for straight man, the AFC championship.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_02]: Two great teams, both coach,
- 29:04[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, the bonus being out it's tough.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_02]: He's been there guy for the last two years.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_02]: Everyone is used to him running the system, the whole nine yards, but I will say to speak on Jared's to them.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_02]: He was a team at a mine.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_02]: He's a great friend of mine.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_02]: He's competitive.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_02]: I witnessed him go, it's a 49ers week 17 to 2022.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_02]: Through for 365 yards and three touchdowns, I was one of the top defenses in the league of that time that go on to loses Super Bowl that season.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_02]: He's out there sling in the ball, confident breaking tackles.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_02]: He's tough as hell.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_02]: Go against him and practice all the time because he was a scout look quarterback.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_02]: We got into it all the time because I can't help myself.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_02]: I'm hitting the back of quarterbacks every time I can.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_02]: I hit her starting quarterbacks sometimes and get sent out of practice.
- 29:40[SPEAKER_02]: It is what it is.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_02]: Instead of the one thing I respected the most set of him is what he didn't back down whatsoever.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_02]: He was talking
- 29:46[SPEAKER_02]: smack back to me.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, okay, I like this guy.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_02]: I know I can get into the fox hole with him and he's going to fight back.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_02]: Denver did a great job bringing him in and having him as the backup.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_02]: The big thing you talked about with this game, though, is that he needs, um,
- 30:02[SPEAKER_02]: He needs Jared said him to be himself, go out there and push the ball and just play within himself.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_02]: No dinking dub.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_02]: He's not going to go in there and just dinking dunk.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_02]: Play it safe.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to go out there and play a quarterback and try to help his team win the game.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_02]: So a lot out there, shout out to Mike Reese for that quote as well.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_02]: From ESPN and a foundation covering the Patriots.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, Max Crosby.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_02]: Loving some Jared's to them.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_02]: By all accounts here at Stitham is just like one of the best dudes in the locker room and they'll rub him and his wife.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_02]: And not that they don't love both.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_02]: Like not take away from both.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_02]: It's just like they've brought in some really good folks in that locker room.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_02]: So they're going to rally around him and be excited to see what you can do.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_01]: So I'll say two things here.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_01]: First, there are two other guys that really love here at Stitham.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_01]: That's the two offensive-minded guys in this game, Josh McDaniels and Sean Payton.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_01]: Josh McDaniels was the guy that was there in New England when he was drafted.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_01]: So you have to know that he was a part of those conversations that, hey, this is a guy I can work with.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_01]: This is a guy I think I can build up.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_01]: Then when he went to the Raiders to be the head coach, who did he sign?
- 31:13[SPEAKER_01]: Jared Stidham.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_01]: And then, of course, here in Denver,
- 31:21[SPEAKER_01]: Jared Stittam.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_01]: Then when his contract was up, who do you want to bring back?
- 31:25[SPEAKER_01]: Is the true backup?
- 31:27[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he had choice between Zach Wilson and Jared Stittam.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_01]: He brought Stittam back again.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_01]: So I mean, he had some real trust in this guy.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_01]: And I do think that there's a people that are commenting when Sean Peyton came out and was talking about Bowenix being hurt.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_01]: Like he was upset about that.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_01]: But when he started talking about Jared Stittam, it's almost like he got a smile on his face.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_01]: Like, this is what I live for.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_01]: These are the moments.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_01]: And I almost feel like Sean Peyton likes this because it really does become more about him.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_01]: If Broncos got there and went and Jert Stitham has himself a decent game, people are gonna be like Sean Peyton, genius.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_01]: Look what he was able to do.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_01]: What, you know, he started quarterback goes down AFC championship.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_01]: And this is the guy that comes in.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_01]: So I almost think he's excited for the challenge of coming up with the best game plan possible.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_01]: And not saying he wouldn't have done that with botanics, but I just think there's like this extra little bit for him in this.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_01]: So I'd say that that's one thing that really has stuck out to me with this opportunity for him.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_01]: And having Max Crossby, he's one of those guys.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_01]: He's a no BS guy.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_01]: He's not going to say something he doesn't believe.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_01]: When the the raiders were trying to do the whole well he's hurt so we're going to put them on IR is like bull crap.
- 32:43[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not hurt and he starts posting these videos of look I'm out here playing basketball.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_01]: And so for him to come out and say something like that you know it's actually coming from he believes this.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_01]: And to say it about arrival.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_01]: That's good to see so.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_01]: I do expecters did them to have a decent game.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think he's going to go out there throw for 300 yards, four touchdowns, and that kind of game.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_01]: But if he can 200 yards, touchdown, no interceptions, no fumbles.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_01]: I think if he does that, Broncos, they have a very good chance of winning this game.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and the bottom line from X-Crosby, even though he did pick the Patriots to win.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_02]: He says that the Broncos have a top defense, good run game, very good offensive line.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_02]: Stadium just needs to go out there and be himself.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_02]: Don't go out there trying not to lose.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_02]: You have to go out there and let it rip.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_02]: You got to be yourself.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_02]: So maybe that's spoken from a past Russia mindset because you got to not turn the ball over, as well, make it harder on your defense and the field position at the end of the day.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_02]: But I mean, Jared is,
- 33:48[SPEAKER_02]: They have full confidence in him.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_02]: And we really just won't know until he's out there, because he hasn't been on this stage.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_02]: But he's always been a super talented guy.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, for those of you who've been following the show for a long time, I went down to Columbia, Missouri for the pro day.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_02]: And back in 2019, to go get IZon Drew Lock because I heard the Broncos had some interest.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_02]: And I followed Jordan Palmer, the coach of him,
- 34:17[SPEAKER_02]: uh... julek and jirtsidham at the time just talking about you know quarterback mechanics trying to get you know soundbite for an article and he said like the guy who's arm is just like unbelievable is jirtsidham like the way the ball comes out of that guy's hand is ridiculous and he's a really underrated competitive athlete as well now it never has manifested itself and to be becoming a long time starter but still came to the brachos thinking he was going to be the guy he was pissed uh... after losing the bonix which
- 34:45[SPEAKER_02]: You know, good team at the end of the day resigned with Denver, despite losing, right?
- 34:50[SPEAKER_02]: So I must like what's going on here, but it's not just like false hope.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_02]: We're not out here with the chiefs, although ducking or whatever apologies for getting the name last name wrong there.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_02]: We're like trail ants.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_02]: Like there is we're not going out there as a sacrificial lamb.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_02]: Like this Broncos team believes in Jared's to them and they believe they can get it done.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_02]: So.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_02]: I'm skeptic at heart, but also I'm very analytical and we just don't know what the value of the variable it is, Jared Sitham in this equation.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_02]: So I guess why not believe right, as I've said before, how's money, how's money at this?
- 35:28[SPEAKER_01]: And I love the way what you talked about earlier when they interviewed him after losing the quarterback battle.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_01]: Like, there was real emotion there from him.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_01]: And some people are like a whole world that shows he's a poor loser.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_01]: No, like, that kid battled his butt off.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_01]: To try to win that job.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_01]: And I do think it was closer than people realized.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_01]: You know, Bonix, especially the way he started that season, I'm sure some people in that facility were going, hmm, maybe we should have went with Stitham here for at least the first part of the season.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_01]: Now, thankfully, Bonix worked through all that and had a great rookie season.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_01]: And then the fact that Stitham after that, I mean, Bonix and Stitham's wife, they both post lots of things on Instagram and Facebook and all those kind of places.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_01]: And like they became really good friends.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that really shows the character of, and you said earlier, he's one of the best guys in the locker room, guys, gravitate towards him.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_01]: even bonus gravitates towards them.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_01]: They've become really good friends as a season.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_01]: As these two seasons have gone on here.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_01]: And so I do think that the team's going to work hard to rally around him, to try to give him every chance to go out there and win.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_01]: And I mean, I'm not saying yet who I'm going to pick to win.
- 36:49[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe here at the end of the show.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_01]: When you put me on the spot and I have to make that choice, I really love to know what Jika Dobbins, what his status is.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_01]: If I for sure know he's playing, I'd probably give the Broncos another couple points.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_01]: If he's not playing, oh boy, it could be a long game, especially if we don't have a run game going.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_01]: But we got George Foxx saying, Stitty was a running quarterback in college.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see how he does.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_01]: There was one play, dual threat is the attacker in the, in the, in the preseason, there was one play.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was like a third and 18.
- 37:23[SPEAKER_01]: And he took off running and he had like three defenders closing in on him and he just put on the breaks, you know, it's kind of like top gun, I'm just going to put on the breaks and they're going to fly right on by as exactly the did like all three of them just go tumbling into the out of bounds and then he runs for first down so that there's at least a little bit of athleticism, it's not bone next level by any means.
- 37:44[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't think he has quite the instincts, like part of what makes Vonix so dangerous as a runner because he has some really, really good instincts.
- 37:51[SPEAKER_01]: Of where to go, where's the open spot run towards?
- 37:55[SPEAKER_01]: Some guys, they can run in a straight line, great, but if you don't have the instincts to know actually where to run, straight line speed doesn't really matter a whole lot.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_01]: So I still expect city to run, I wouldn't be shocked to be at five carries in this game.
- 38:11[SPEAKER_01]: Designed touches are pulled down.
- 38:13[SPEAKER_01]: No scramble.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_01]: Scramble.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, scramble.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_01]: Not not five design runs.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_01]: You, you're already down to your backup.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_02]: I was going to say, I mean, Last game of the year, can't hold anything back now, but yeah, it's
- 38:28[SPEAKER_02]: Well, say, still don't, you just not as, I don't think he's as strong as bone X. I don't think he's as twitched up either.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_02]: Like, bokeh changed direction in like being the pocket and decided he's going like get off like kind of not an edge rusher.
- 38:42[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, if you've seen the video of the, the woman in Dubai, like walking in the street and then seeing the car with the baby in it, it's like backing up and she like bolts off.
- 38:49[SPEAKER_02]: Like that's kind of bone X get off.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_02]: If you haven't seen the video yet, she needs to be signed up to as an edge rusher next season.
- 38:53[SPEAKER_02]: It's ridiculous.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, insane get off.
- 38:57[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, stood him.
- 38:58[SPEAKER_02]: Again, I don't think he's going to do anything crazy as a runner, but if they play a man coverage and he's got space, he can do it.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_02]: I think he can buy enough time.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_02]: One thing I do think think about stood him is that
- 39:11[SPEAKER_02]: I really do imagine it's going to be a little bit more airy now, and this game, I think we're going to see some more testing of the defense vertically, and I don't want to say it's going to be a James Winston experience with some bad interceptions down the field, but I do think he's going to hunt, and we'll see what that means for the Broncos on the wide receiver front.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_02]: We were waiting to hear back about Pat Bryant still following the concussion on that first series, second series of the game.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_02]: Try Franklin with the hamstring.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_02]: from what I've heard, Pat Bryant, maybe Troy Franklin wouldn't expect, but you also got MIMS in court and Sutton as well.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll see, at the end of the day, gonna come down the lines of skirmish and the turnover battle though.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like I said, it's the other guys have to step up.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_01]: Offensive line, you've gotta take it to another level.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_01]: I know you've been, they've been great.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_01]: And they did a really good job against the bills.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, there were a lot of plays
- 40:08[SPEAKER_01]: to do whatever you wanted.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_01]: Now, run game, I think is where they've got to step up a little bit more, open up a couple.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, and part of it is, are running backs, who's fault is it?
- 40:18[SPEAKER_01]: Is it the running backs for not going to the right place?
- 40:21[SPEAKER_01]: And missing the opportunities, or is it the offensive line, not blocking things up well?
- 40:25[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's a combination of both.
- 40:27[SPEAKER_01]: I think that there are some run plays where guys are just running straight through making the play in the back field.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_01]: running back has no chance, but there's other plays where there were opportunities in the running backs missed it.
- 40:37[SPEAKER_01]: So can't have those kind of things.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_01]: Like I said, why receivers have to catch it?
- 40:41[SPEAKER_01]: I think stadium, he's not so much of a check down guy.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_01]: He's not trying to go horizontal and get the yards after catch.
- 40:50[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to push the ball down the field.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_01]: I could see Evan Ingraham having a decent game in this one.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_01]: If Pat Brian plays, I think he'll be another one because you want to attack the middle of the field.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully he's out there.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_01]: And hopefully he's wearing one of those guardian caps this time.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_01]: I know they look silly.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_01]: My son always makes every time I point one out, he's just laughing and said off.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_01]: It makes me always think of space balls.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_01]: And the giant helmet the guy was wearing, you know, that's what it makes me think every time it makes me laugh, but he needs it, because we need him on the field.
- 41:24[SPEAKER_01]: He's a great player, big time playmaker doesn't drop the ball.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, that that game, I think everybody will point towards the, the Raiders versus 49ers game for Stitham, because that's his big game.
- 41:38[SPEAKER_01]: Get 360 yards passing three touchdowns two interceptions.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_01]: that that could be a little bit what we see here.
- 41:45[SPEAKER_01]: Like I said, it is a little bit of hero ball times.
- 41:47[SPEAKER_01]: He's not afraid to go out there and take a chance.
- 41:51[SPEAKER_01]: And sometimes it works out great and you go out there and you're the hero of the game.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_01]: And by golly, I hope that's what happens here.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_01]: But there could also be a couple of throws you're going home, my gosh.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_01]: But what next would never have done that?
- 42:03[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_02]: It is what it is.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_02]: He's the quarterback now, and Denver's just two wins away from immortality.
- 42:11[SPEAKER_02]: Just two wins.
- 42:12[SPEAKER_02]: Hard, but one at a time.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if I have I highlighted, but good to see a six, seven, six three mark always coming in.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you everybody for clicking the thumbs up and everything on the way into.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_02]: We also got Zach Phillips coming in.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_02]: I haven't heard anything about this.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_02]: busy day, we're going to fatherhood, but rumors about bow coming back if we win.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_02]: I'm guessing that's unsubstantiated.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_02]: He had just had a surgery today and everything coming out was four to six months, but in like really optimistic for the off season, but being back following surgery on a broken ankle and to be honest, like given both super power with the athleticism and avoiding the sacs, likely if he's playing on one foot or one leg, is he better than Jared stood him at that point?
- 42:53[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 42:54[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, I can't imagine that that's reality, but if somebody has something, you know, put me up and prove me wrong.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_02]: I have no, it's not coming across my timeline.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_01]: Even if it was just like a hairline fracture, optimistic would be six weeks recovery.
- 43:14[SPEAKER_01]: you know, broken bone, six to eight weeks is what they usually say, but then we're talking about that.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_01]: That's not that's just getting the bone healed.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_01]: Then you got to think of recovery time to actually rebuild the muscle and everything else because you're not putting any weight on that ankle.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_01]: And like I said, I really can't see any way that he would even be close to being ready.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_01]: You could maybe numb that ankle up, but that's your planting foot.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_01]: You kind of want to feel it.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_01]: kind of want to know where that is on the field and I don't think that we could hope that he's going to be back.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_01]: It's Jared Stidham.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to have to get behind him.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_01]: Crazy things have happened.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, backup quarterbacks have won the Super Bowl a few times, so it's not completely unheard of.
- 43:59[SPEAKER_01]: But I mean, the odds are stacked against the Broncos, for sure.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_01]: There's a reason the Patriots are favored now and pretty much most everybody outside of Denver are picking the Patriots at this point.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe Adam Rink just because I think it's almost like a running joke now that he picks the brother.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, every single time.
- 44:18[SPEAKER_01]: But still, I think that there the Broncos have the players, they do.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't just a, it's not like the bills where it's Josh Allen.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_01]: You got cook in the backfield, you got a good offense line, and there's not really much else where you do need Josh Allen to be Superman to win, especially playoff games.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_01]: I think of like Peyton Manning with the Colts.
- 44:44[SPEAKER_01]: There were so many seasons where it was him, a couple weapons, the offensive line was good, but was it because Peyton Manning was so good at getting the ball out or was it that they were actually good?
- 44:55[SPEAKER_01]: Defensively, usually they were like,
- 44:58[SPEAKER_01]: 20th to 25th and ranking for defense.
- 45:01[SPEAKER_01]: And when you got to the playoffs, it just wasn't enough.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_01]: And we're here in Denver.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_01]: You've got a defense that can go out there and win a game for you.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_01]: You've got an offensive line that can go out there and take over a game if you need them to.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_01]: You've got some okay weapons to work with.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_01]: You know, that they can have some good games, Marvin Mims, what a game for that guy.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, my ex-taker, if you remember, I was pound on the table, I'm like, this is the guy.
- 45:32[SPEAKER_02]: I thought my ex-factor was gone after the first play of the game, but credit to him, to hurt on the last play that touchdown, just to give the Broncos a 3.0 lead and that first one, they don't win this game without him.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so shout out to him, great to see him go out there and have a great receiving game, and he's been a big, big time catch guy.
- 45:54[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you think about the Bengals where you had two big touchdowns last year, you think about Giants game this year.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the Giants game with coming up at the huge catch, there's actually a couple of them in that game that he came up with.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_01]: So it seems like when you need the absolute biggest catch in the fourth quarter, it's not always court-led son.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's many times Marvin Mimms being the guy to get the ball thrown his way.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_01]: So.
- 46:17[SPEAKER_01]: Shout out to him.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully he can really step up in this game for Stitham as well.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_01]: You got Brandon Johnson back now with the Broncos.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_01]: Did you see that?
- 46:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we got our ringer right now.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_01]: That's right.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_01]: Never know.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe that guy goes out there and becomes a hero.
- 46:30[SPEAKER_01]: He made some really circus catches when he was here in Denver.
- 46:36[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't very consistent, but every once in a while he just made a catch go.
- 46:40[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 46:41[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe we got something here.
- 46:44[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we'll see.
- 46:44[SPEAKER_02]: I would imagine bandy slash, oh gosh, Elijah Moore probably higher in the pecking order before that happens.
- 46:52[SPEAKER_02]: But you never know.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_02]: You never know.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_02]: So I thank you Zach for the comment.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_02]: Of course, and we're going to start wrapping it up here.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_02]: But we just do not know about Jared's to them.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_02]: But what we do know is that this team has belief in him and are going to rally around him and bonus as well.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_02]: And again,
- 47:12[SPEAKER_02]: I wasn't honestly, maybe this had just me getting older or something.
- 47:17[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, Carl, but like after the news of Bonix being out for the season broken ankle hit, my thought wasn't.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_02]: all the seasons done for the Broncos.
- 47:25[SPEAKER_02]: So maybe confidence and Jared said I'm to some extent, but I just felt so bad.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_02]: I still feel so bad for Bonix to get to this point, all the doubters.
- 47:35[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, very close to the pinnacle of your professional aspiration schools as a quarterback and all the work, unbelievable amount of work that he's put in to get to this point and have it taken away.
- 47:49[SPEAKER_02]: Like obviously, the Broncos aren't here without him this season, but I'm by just
- 47:55[SPEAKER_02]: this is just I'm devastated for him.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know he's a very like very strong faith as well.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_02]: I'm him and his wife like the comments the picture after after the game where people come up to greet him and talk with him and sit with him.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_02]: But I just again, win loss.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_02]: I my heart's broken for him.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_02]: And I've been, you know, I've never been like bonus best quarterback of all time, but
- 48:20[SPEAKER_02]: he's been really great this season franchise caliber quarterback and to have it.
- 48:24[SPEAKER_02]: The rug pulled like this.
- 48:26[SPEAKER_02]: It just breaks my heart for him.
- 48:28[SPEAKER_02]: So it's gonna be excited to see him back next season, but really important to have perspective on the reality of where the Broncos are at, very much in large part.
- 48:40[SPEAKER_02]: It's the Broncos at the end of the day.
- 48:41[SPEAKER_02]: It's not the Denver Bonix's, but because of what he's done for this team.
- 48:45[SPEAKER_01]: So just feel, I just feel terrible for him.
- 48:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but like I said, the nice thing is we've seen this year.
- 48:53[SPEAKER_01]: Bonax has had some bad games and the team is still one.
- 48:57[SPEAKER_01]: So it's not just been him having to carry this team to get him to where they are now.
- 49:01[SPEAKER_01]: And that's why I have at least a little bit of hope that the Broncos can pull something out this weekend and maybe get to the Super Bowl.
- 49:09[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I picked before the playoffs ever started, I picked Broncos versus Rams.
- 49:15[SPEAKER_01]: My, my son was a big bearer span.
- 49:17[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know why.
- 49:17[SPEAKER_01]: I think he just likes their uniforms and saying bear for some reason.
- 49:23[SPEAKER_01]: But so when the Rams won, like I almost had to go wake him up, my wife stopped me, because I wanted to go say, how my team won yours didn't, but I'm a little petty sometimes with my kids.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_01]: But no, I still think that's very much in play because
- 49:39[SPEAKER_01]: The Broncos, like I said, they've got a good enough team around Dirt Stitham, where he doesn't have to go out there and be a greatest quarterback ever for them to go win this game against the Patriots.
- 49:50[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm glad you're talking about the tickets earlier.
- 49:53[SPEAKER_01]: Sounds like it's going to be a very, very pro Broncos crowd.
- 49:57[SPEAKER_01]: That place will be rocking, maybe we can get a couple penalties, get a couple sacks because that crowd's going crazy, and that ends up being maybe the biggest difference in the game.
- 50:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 50:09[SPEAKER_02]: Man, I'm still excited for it.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_02]: It feels like, you know, after that happened, the injury news, what a roller coaster, you know, at the highest highs to just, how's that even possible, you're lying.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_02]: But team needs everybody to rally, all the people's stands and be cheering when the other teams in the huddle.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_02]: And Drake May has not faced, I don't think Drake May has faced a,
- 50:35[SPEAKER_02]: Broden environment that he's going to see in this game.
- 50:37[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he played like a Thursday night game.
- 50:39[SPEAKER_02]: I believe in Buffalo, which would have been pretty raqus to some extent, but Other than that, I just can't, I cannot think of an environment that's going to be similar to what mile high offers and
- 50:52[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we just saw Josh Allen, what he did on the road.
- 50:55[SPEAKER_02]: CJ's proud, what he did on the road.
- 50:58[SPEAKER_02]: Those opportunities are going to be there to take the ball away.
- 51:00[SPEAKER_02]: It's just, are you going to be the team that comes away with the ball in that 50-50 power?
- 51:05[SPEAKER_02]: The ball makes the play on the football, as it's battered in the air.
- 51:08[SPEAKER_02]: I mean,
- 51:09[SPEAKER_02]: That's, that's probably off of all of the day.
- 51:11[SPEAKER_02]: The margins are so small, but gotta take, gotta capitalize, because the opportunities will be there.
- 51:18[SPEAKER_02]: It's being opportunities though.
- 51:19[SPEAKER_02]: We got two, two, dub, two, come in in here.
- 51:25[SPEAKER_02]: Appreciate you over on YouTube with the super sticker.
- 51:29[SPEAKER_02]: I hope you're doing well.
- 51:31[SPEAKER_02]: One final thing I didn't wanna say in here before we get out of here.
- 51:34[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously we're lamenting about Bonax being out just feeling terrible for him.
- 51:38[SPEAKER_02]: Even if Bonix was healthy, this game is in an automatic victory, right?
- 51:43[SPEAKER_02]: So like, Bonix being in there, being out like that it hurt the Broncos chances.
- 51:46[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's gone from like a seven point swing in this one.
- 51:49[SPEAKER_02]: So the books respecting Bonix unknown with Jared's to them, but not a guarantee for the Broncos to win this one as well.
- 51:56[SPEAKER_02]: If Bonix was healthy and Jared was, you know, the backup still.
- 51:59[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm hoping that regardless, if the Broncos do end up losing that people can give
- 52:06[SPEAKER_02]: a little bit of grace.
- 52:08[SPEAKER_02]: I guess there is well because it's a really hard situation to come into and there's no guarantee the Broncos even when if Bo is healthy.
- 52:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the Patriots are a good team.
- 52:19[SPEAKER_01]: They've got a good all-around roster.
- 52:22[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I've got to give it to Mike Freibald's one of my favorite coaches.
- 52:25[SPEAKER_01]: I hate that he went to the Patriots, but I love the fact that he was able to take a Titan's team who's been
- 52:33[SPEAKER_01]: At times the laughing stock of the NFL and he was able to take him to the number one seed in the AFC.
- 52:39[SPEAKER_01]: Had them that had them beat the Patriots in the playoffs.
- 52:44[SPEAKER_01]: Remember, right?
- 52:46[SPEAKER_01]: Was he wasn't he the one that was.
- 52:48[SPEAKER_01]: I think Tom Brady's last throw.
- 52:50[SPEAKER_01]: The picks was I think that was against the Titans.
- 52:54[SPEAKER_01]: And so the fact that he was able to do that with that team and like Ryan Tanna Hills is quarterback.
- 52:59[SPEAKER_01]: just shows the quality of coach that he is.
- 53:01[SPEAKER_01]: So they're going to be ready to play.
- 53:03[SPEAKER_01]: Like I said, I do think this home crowd is going to be overwhelming for some of those players.
- 53:09[SPEAKER_01]: They've got a young roster.
- 53:11[SPEAKER_01]: I think this is going to be a little bit of a shock compared to being at home for the last few weeks here for them.
- 53:17[SPEAKER_01]: And hopefully that's enough to shake them and cause a bad player to hear.
- 53:22[SPEAKER_01]: And like I said, Broncos can really capitalize on those situations.
- 53:28[SPEAKER_01]: then I do think the Broncos stand a really good chance.
- 53:31[SPEAKER_01]: They are going to force couple turnovers for sure.
- 53:33[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think you can have this be a, yeah, you've got to be on the plus side and the turnover differential in this one.
- 53:40[SPEAKER_01]: And thankfully, Broncos finally figured out how to turn the ball over.
- 53:44[SPEAKER_01]: So hopefully that continues.
- 53:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, got to love it.
- 53:48[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't typically boot people, but Carlos Wheeler is getting close there.
- 53:53[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, but we'll see what happens.
- 53:55[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe it's a Patriots fan in here, but hope and for no injuries.
- 53:59[SPEAKER_02]: And I mean, you guys know I'm a big fan of Drake May.
- 54:02[SPEAKER_02]: And Trayvian Henderson, I mean, God, that was high in the last class.
- 54:05[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll see what happens here.
- 54:07[SPEAKER_02]: I'm expecting a good game and hopefully some very physical, clean and fun football out there as well.
- 54:15[SPEAKER_02]: It should be a great one.
- 54:16[SPEAKER_02]: So Carl, any final thoughts?
- 54:17[SPEAKER_02]: If we don't have you again, until we know the result of the game, do you, are you ready to give a score?
- 54:21[SPEAKER_02]: I won't hold you to it, but if you have one, then you know.
- 54:25[SPEAKER_01]: You know what, I'll go and give mine here.
- 54:29[SPEAKER_01]: I do, I do expect the defense to have a great game.
- 54:33[SPEAKER_01]: I think that matchup for Bonito coming on the edge.
- 54:37[SPEAKER_01]: I think our guys in the middle are gonna have themselves quite the game as well.
- 54:41[SPEAKER_01]: And I think they're gonna force at least to help turnovers in this one.
