- 1:01Speaker 3: Hello and welcome to Juicy Scoop.
- 1:04Speaker 1: You're so lucky today because not only do I have
- 1:06Speaker 1: more juicy, hilarious topics with Chris Frangiola, but I also
- 1:10Speaker 1: did a great interview with Captain Sandy from Below Deck.
- 1:14Speaker 1: So let's get started. All right, you guys don't deserve
- 1:17Speaker 1: this show, but I'm going to give it to you anyway.
- 1:19Speaker 3: I want to do a follow-up on the loofahs. Have
- 1:21Speaker 3: you heard about the loofahs?
- 1:22Speaker 5: I did. This is a swinger thing.
- 1:24Speaker 1: It's a swingers thing. I've heard from people who live
- 1:27Speaker 1: in the villages of Florida that are furious at me
- 1:29Speaker 1: that I'm talking about this. Really? They're saying it's not true.
- 1:33Speaker 1: People put it on their golf carts and have for
- 1:35Speaker 1: years because they're older people and.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Also because golf carts look alike.
- 1:40Speaker 5: To wash the golf balls?
- 1:42Speaker 3: No, I think to identify which golf cart is theirs.
- 1:44Speaker 4: Oh.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Different colored loofahs.
- 1:45Speaker 4: Okay, sure.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Um, however, someone also sent me this where you can
- 1:51Speaker 1: see there's, they're at a store and there's very few
- 1:54Speaker 1: loofahs available to purchase.
- 1:56Speaker 3: They're sold out.
- 1:58Speaker 5: Everything's sold out. There's nothing on the shelves of the store.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Well, you're right.
- 2:02Speaker 3: So maybe, maybe.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay. Anyway, it's not a bunch of old people
- 2:06Speaker 1: getting their different colored loofahs to identify what kind of
- 2:08Speaker 1: swinger they are.
- 2:09Speaker 5: Okay.
- 2:10Speaker 3: Then I heard from this girl.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Oh, okay. I work in the villages, Florida as a
- 2:15Speaker 1: bartender driving home from work tonight, listening to your podcast
- 2:18Speaker 1: and almost died when you talked about it. I'm a
- 2:20Speaker 1: bartender in the villages and I can tell you that
- 2:23Speaker 1: the loofahs are real. So she's saying is real. I
- 2:25Speaker 1: have another angry juicer Cooper saying it's not real.
- 2:28Speaker 5: Can I stop you? I don't know what the villages are.
- 2:30Speaker 5: Is that like a part.
- 2:32Speaker 3: Of community in Florida of older people?
- 2:34Speaker 5: Okay. Got it.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Predominantly older people, I guess.
- 2:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Put them in glasses. Um, I can tell you that
- 2:40Speaker 1: the loofahs are real on cars, especially on golf carts.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Key parties are still a thing, but there's more. You
- 2:45Speaker 1: mentioned the pineapples, and yes, they're everywhere. I wanted to
- 2:48Speaker 1: let you know that even inside the grocery store, if
- 2:50Speaker 1: you have a pineapple in your cart, in the top
- 2:53Speaker 1: part where the baby would sit, which is what I
- 2:54Speaker 1: always said, it means you're open to being approached by
- 2:57Speaker 1: others and looking for partners.
- 2:59Speaker 3: There's so much.
- 3:00Speaker 1: They have a whole secret code as far as what
- 3:03Speaker 1: the women wear, like gold lame shoes. That's a thing.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Not sure of the exact meaning, but when I tell
- 3:09Speaker 1: you that these people in the villages are partiers, they
- 3:12Speaker 1: love to party. They love their pineapples, too. Pineapple earrings,
- 3:15Speaker 1: dress shirts, shoe ties for men. So many, like spring
- 3:19Speaker 1: break for seniors.
- 3:20Speaker 5: Okay.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Now, another person that said you're, you know, like I said,
- 3:26Speaker 1: this isn't true. It's the most respectable place on earth.
- 3:28Speaker 1: This is just a dumb rumor. So, I don't know.
- 3:32Speaker 3: If you are a loofah.
- 3:35Speaker 4: Scrubbing.
- 3:37Speaker 1: or just putting on your golf cart and you are
- 3:39Speaker 1: a swinger.
- 3:41Speaker 3: Let me just hear from you.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Write me yourself and say, yes, I'm 68. I started
- 3:47Speaker 1: swinging 25 years ago with my husband. I've had over
- 3:50Speaker 1: a hundred partners. We absolutely love it. This is how
- 3:53Speaker 1: we do it. Not ashamed of it. We found like
- 3:56Speaker 1: 90 people at the villagers or not.
- 3:58Speaker 5: Okay. Now also I'll just say this in, in defense
- 4:01Speaker 5: of the pineapple.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Yes.
- 4:03Speaker 5: It's a hot fruit right now on all things. Like,
- 4:07Speaker 5: if you go to any home goods or any of
- 4:09Speaker 5: these Michaels art supplies, the pineapple's on everything.
- 4:12Speaker 1: And it always has been. It's also a sign of hospitality.
- 4:15Speaker 5: It's all right.
- 4:16Speaker 3: But isn't being a swinger the ultimate?
- 4:18Speaker 5: Nothing's more hospitable than that. But, all right, can I
- 4:22Speaker 5: ask you? I don't even know what actual swinging is,
- 4:27Speaker 5: I guess. Is it you take my wife and I
- 4:30Speaker 5: take your husband? Or is it... You watch me do
- 4:34Speaker 5: your wife or husband? Like, what exactly is it?
- 4:37Speaker 3: Well, I'm so glad you asked that.
- 4:38Speaker 1: And that is why they introduced the different colors of
- 4:40Speaker 1: the loofahs. Oh.
- 4:41Speaker 3: Because the different colors indicate that.
- 4:44Speaker 5: Oh, it does?
- 4:45Speaker 1: Yes. And I went through it with Sarah, so you
- 4:46Speaker 1: can just go back and listen to that episode. But
- 4:48Speaker 1: it is literally like that.
- 4:49Speaker 5: Okay.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Like, white is just invite me to the party. I
- 4:53Speaker 1: don't know if I want to watch you. I might
- 4:55Speaker 1: just want to have a bite to eat, but I'd
- 4:56Speaker 1: like to be invited to the party. Then there's another
- 4:59Speaker 1: color that's like, I am probably going to make out
- 5:02Speaker 1: with my husband while watching other people do stuff.
- 5:05Speaker 4: Okay.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Then the next one is my husband and I are
- 5:08Speaker 1: definitely going to fuck. Don't touch us, but we'll fuck
- 5:11Speaker 1: with other people fucking in the room.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Right.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Then there is, um, you can come around and like
- 5:17Speaker 1: touch my boob or give me a shoulder rub while
- 5:19Speaker 1: someone's going down on me, you know, and.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Then there's full blown.
- 5:22Speaker 1: I will have full blown sex with a stranger and
- 5:24Speaker 1: I don't care. And then there's the bisexual ones. So
- 5:27Speaker 1: that's what the, that's why, because people like you, wondered
- 5:30Speaker 1: for so long, and then someone said, let's make it easy.
- 5:34Speaker 5: With loofahs.
- 5:35Speaker 4: Yes.
- 5:35Speaker 5: I feel like that makes it more difficult, but whatever,
- 5:37Speaker 5: that's fine. It all makes me feel very boring.
- 5:42Speaker 3: Someone's like, I'm colorblind.
- 5:45Speaker 5: And my back, like I'm not loofahed at all. Like
- 5:47Speaker 5: I have dead scaly skin all over my body. Yeah.
- 5:54Speaker 5: It all makes me feel very boring because none of
- 5:57Speaker 5: this interests me at all. Not at all. Not even remotely.
- 6:01Speaker 5: I have no desire.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Well, you know, when I interviewed a former Mormon, I
- 6:08Speaker 1: put her on. A former Mormon. A former Mormon. I
- 6:13Speaker 1: asked her about swinging. It was Whitney Rose from Salt
- 6:16Speaker 1: Lake City. She said, you know, it does happen because
- 6:19Speaker 1: these people get married so young.
- 6:21Speaker 5: I'm sure.
- 6:21Speaker 1: So maybe being that swingers, some swingers, these ones, might
- 6:26Speaker 1: have gotten married back in the day much younger than
- 6:29Speaker 1: people like you and me. Yeah. So if you never
- 6:31Speaker 1: had much experience and you both are like, God, this
- 6:35Speaker 1: is my high school sweetheart.
- 6:36Speaker 3: Now we're whatever. Like, is there more out there?
- 6:39Speaker 5: I don't know. That could be.
- 6:41Speaker 1: All right.
- 6:41Speaker 5: Well, that's a good explanation.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Okay. Ben and Jen... according to TMZ, have bought a
- 6:47Speaker 1: new house. It's a brand new house built on an
- 6:51Speaker 1: acre in Pacific Palisades.
- 6:53Speaker 3: She is selling her Bel Air.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Home for $ 40 million something and found this cutie for
- 6:59Speaker 1: $ 32 million.
- 6:59Speaker 5: That is a cutie.
- 7:01Speaker 1: And it's got a gym and it's got everything. And
- 7:05Speaker 1: Spencer Pratt lives in there.
- 7:06Speaker 5: He does?
- 7:07Speaker 1: He lives in Pacific Palisades. He's at Irwan every day.
- 7:10Speaker 1: And I hope I think they should buy there. I
- 7:14Speaker 1: think it's fabulous.
- 7:15Speaker 5: Well, they are, right? Didn't they confirm it?
- 7:17Speaker 1: Of course, I don't know where the closest Dunkin' Donuts is.
- 7:19Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly, right. I'm going to get my Dunkin'. Oh, boy. Well,
- 7:24Speaker 5: good for him. At least he has another wing of
- 7:26Speaker 5: the house he can go to when J-Lo gets, you know,
- 7:29Speaker 5: I feel like there's, every now and again, I'll be
- 7:31Speaker 5: head-butting between the two. Like there was at the award show.
- 7:34Speaker 1: You see the new movie that he has coming out?
- 7:36Speaker 5: Yeah, it's about Nikes.
- 7:37Speaker 1: It's about Nike.
- 7:38Speaker 3: So he plays the Nike owner.
- 7:39Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 7:40Speaker 3: Matt Damon plays an agent.
- 7:42Speaker 5: Already in. Already in. I think it's a series. It's
- 7:44Speaker 5: going to be on Apple TV or whatever.
- 7:45Speaker 3: Oh, it's a series?
- 7:46Speaker 5: It's a series, yeah.
- 7:47Speaker 1: Oh, I think it's better as a series. I thought
- 7:49Speaker 1: it was going to be a movie. And I was like, okay,
- 7:50Speaker 1: I think we've seen the whole thing.
- 7:52Speaker 5: I believe it's a series.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 7:55Speaker 3: Every guy is going to love that.
- 7:56Speaker 5: Oh, absolutely. Sounds great.
- 7:58Speaker 1: I don't really care.
- 7:59Speaker 3: But I think it looks good.
- 8:00Speaker 5: Yeah, I think it's... I've watched it.
- 8:03Speaker 3: It's a history of how it all happened.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Yeah. And I think that's kind of interesting.
- 8:06Speaker 5: Interesting story.
- 8:06Speaker 1: It looks good. So, Kendall Jenner got some hate or push.
- 8:11Speaker 1: She did a weird photo.
- 8:16Speaker 3: Shop.
- 8:17Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 8:17Speaker 3: How her hand looks like a long alien.
- 8:20Speaker 5: Yeah, what's that?
- 8:21Speaker 3: But I don't really understand what she.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Made smaller than. I don't really know how Photoshop works.
- 8:26Speaker 5: I don't either. What is that supposed to be?
- 8:28Speaker 3: Who are you if your life is a Photoshop detective?
- 8:32Speaker 5: Oh, God. Yeah. I didn't even... I mean, I've seen...
- 8:35Speaker 5: pictures now but I would have never noticed that ever had.
- 8:39Speaker 1: I I mean is it really like I just don't
- 8:42Speaker 1: know why like I would think okay she would make
- 8:45Speaker 1: her ass bigger or something like why why your hand
- 8:48Speaker 1: long yeah I once did a photo with Peter and
- 8:52Speaker 1: it wasn't photoshopped and my fucking hand and arm looked
- 8:55Speaker 1: so weirdly like skeleton long like it looked like one
- 8:58Speaker 1: of those stretch dolls like yeah and I was like God,
- 9:02Speaker 1: otherwise this photo's good, but I think someone's going to think, like,
- 9:04Speaker 1: what the hell did she do with her weird long arms?
- 9:07Speaker 1: I don't know. Yeah.
- 9:08Speaker 5: I don't know. But, yeah, that's very strange looking.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Who cares? This was kind of interesting.
- 9:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:15Speaker 1: So they're doing the Joker 2, and apparently extras are pissed,
- 9:19Speaker 1: but they can't piss. They're not getting their proper bathroom breaks. Yeah.
- 9:26Speaker 1: they complained or after they came back from the bathroom,
- 9:28Speaker 1: they'd be drinking water and someone would be like, what
- 9:30Speaker 1: are you doing? Why are you drinking water? We're not
- 9:32Speaker 1: going to, you're not going to.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Be able to go to the bathroom for like another
- 9:33Speaker 3: four hours.
- 9:34Speaker 1: So, or five, I don't know what it is.
- 9:36Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 9:37Speaker 3: Anyway, I just thought that was interesting.
- 9:39Speaker 1: That is interesting.
- 9:40Speaker 3: I know, I mean, I've been an extra.
- 9:42Speaker 1: Have you ever been an extra?
- 9:44Speaker 5: One time. It was the worst experience. It's the worst experience.
- 9:47Speaker 5: Like the fact that there are people who do it
- 9:49Speaker 5: like as a career. They have their folding chairs. They
- 9:52Speaker 5: have their book. They just do it. They're professional extras.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Yes.
- 9:57Speaker 5: It's got to be a worse life than being a
- 10:00Speaker 5: Photoshop detective.
- 10:01Speaker 1: You know, my mom and dad's friend, they had this
- 10:04Speaker 1: couple that had been married forever, and she was Native American.
- 10:08Speaker 1: And as a second career, after her kids were grown
- 10:10Speaker 1: and everything, she was an extra. Yeah.
- 10:13Speaker 3: On some show that kind of needed Native Americans.
- 10:16Speaker 1: Yeah. And she, like, loved it. Oh, really? Because, yeah,
- 10:18Speaker 1: she brought her book. She brought her, you know, her thing.
- 10:21Speaker 1: She never was an actor before. And you get fed
- 10:24Speaker 1: and this and that.
- 10:25Speaker 5: What were you an extra on?
- 10:28Speaker 1: I was an extra trying to get my SAG card
- 10:31Speaker 1: because it paid nothing.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:33Speaker 3: And I was an extra on Wayne's World 2.
- 10:35Speaker 5: So was I. Wayne's World 2. I think we've talked
- 10:37Speaker 5: about this.
- 10:37Speaker 3: Yeah, we did talk about this. And that's where.
- 10:41Speaker 1: And then there was another one, but the last day
- 10:43Speaker 1: that I did it, oh, I did it on, I
- 10:45Speaker 1: was on a beach scene with 90210. Okay. And I
- 10:50Speaker 1: have to say, Ian Ziering, I think he was kind
- 10:53Speaker 1: of eye-effing me a little bit.
- 10:55Speaker 5: Oh, really?
- 10:55Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh, okay.
- 10:56Speaker 5: I can see that.
- 10:58Speaker 3: And so that was it.
- 10:59Speaker 1: And then I was supposed to do one other day,
- 11:02Speaker 1: and they said, like, it's a carnival scene, and you
- 11:05Speaker 1: have to go, and it was like Alameda. Like, it
- 11:07Speaker 1: was so far, and you have to be there at
- 11:09Speaker 1: 6 a.m., And I just didn't show up.
- 11:12Speaker 5: I think that's what happens.
- 11:13Speaker 3: And they never called me again. And I was like,
- 11:15Speaker 3: I just don't want to do this.
- 11:16Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 11:17Speaker 1: And then I found somebody that I could pay that
- 11:22Speaker 1: worked at SAG that could get me a SAG card.
- 11:24Speaker 5: Yeah, that's the way everybody just did it. Or you
- 11:26Speaker 5: could pay $ 2, 000. Like, I'll do that. Instead of having
- 11:30Speaker 5: to humiliate myself on the set of Wayne's World 2.
- 11:33Speaker 5: Which they promised me Errol Smith was going to be there.
- 11:36Speaker 5: that's where I went. They're like, and you can get
- 11:38Speaker 5: to see, not only can you be an extra, you
- 11:39Speaker 5: get to see Aerosmith play two songs. And they didn't.
- 11:43Speaker 1: I think that was when I, that's when I didn't
- 11:45Speaker 1: go back. I think I did 90210 first. And then
- 11:47Speaker 1: I did Wayne's World. And I think I was supposed
- 11:50Speaker 1: to go to the concert scene. The concert scene, yeah.
- 11:52Speaker 1: And I chose not to go to that because the
- 11:54Speaker 1: night before, because they're like, okay, we want to use
- 11:57Speaker 1: you a lot. And, um, I also want to say
- 12:01Speaker 1: Dana Carvey, I think, kind of eyeballed me a little bit. Really?
- 12:04Speaker 1: I remember being in this diner scene. They were in
- 12:05Speaker 1: a diner or something, and I was in that.
- 12:07Speaker 5: Oh, he was in Waynesboro. Right, yeah.
- 12:09Speaker 3: I mean, just like eye contact.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 12:10Speaker 5: Come on.
- 12:11Speaker 1: Like, whatever.
- 12:14Speaker 3: But I remember they were all like, didn't you bring
- 12:16Speaker 3: your Tupperware? And I go, what?
- 12:19Speaker 1: No. And all these people were dressed up like rockers,
- 12:22Speaker 1: and I think they were rockers anyway. that's sort of
- 12:25Speaker 1: depressing because being a rocker was already really out of
- 12:27Speaker 1: style by the time I was like doing this movie
- 12:30Speaker 1: and they had this guy had a duffel bag worth
- 12:34Speaker 1: of Tupperware stuff and he'd go around in the craft
- 12:39Speaker 1: services and he was just doing tons of like pastas
- 12:42Speaker 1: and stuff and that's when I was like this is
- 12:45Speaker 1: so depressing.
- 12:46Speaker 5: Yeah like homeless people I mean it's yeah it's a
- 12:50Speaker 5: sad like let them pee though I know let them
- 12:52Speaker 5: pee I mean, this is one extra complaining that he
- 12:56Speaker 5: wasn't allowed to pee. It's one true, you know.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Right, and I also want to say, and if we
- 13:01Speaker 1: know who you are, you're never getting asked again. Okay,
- 13:03Speaker 1: oh my God, I just remembered this story. So I
- 13:05Speaker 1: saw a TikTok of this girl walking, pretty blonde girl
- 13:09Speaker 1: walking in a sunny street. Uh-huh.
- 13:12Speaker 3: And how she's a writer.
- 13:13Speaker 5: Oh, I watched it.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Do I send it to you?
- 13:16Speaker 3: Okay, so I wanted you.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Okay, so she's a writer and she's like, I mean,
- 13:21Speaker 1: I just found out that the project that I was
- 13:23Speaker 1: working on for free is probably not going to go now.
- 13:27Speaker 1: And I'm writing on this other thing for these people
- 13:29Speaker 1: that pay me like nothing. And I just think being
- 13:33Speaker 1: a writer is just like so hard. I don't know
- 13:35Speaker 1: if I want to do it anymore. And these people
- 13:37Speaker 1: that I work for are these big wigs and they
- 13:40Speaker 1: just expect me to write for them.
- 13:42Speaker 3: And they don't. And anyway, she goes on.
- 13:45Speaker 1: And my comment was, don't worry, girl, they're never hiring
- 13:48Speaker 1: you again. Like you literally just did a tick tock.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Of how you think that the world is against you.
- 13:54Speaker 5: Right.
- 13:54Speaker 3: You're a young writer who hasn't been staffed yet.
- 13:58Speaker 1: I know.
- 13:58Speaker 3: Who hasn't been, you did not create a show.
- 14:01Speaker 1: And the amount of shows that I've pitched and created
- 14:04Speaker 1: and worked on that never came to fruition.
- 14:06Speaker 5: Yeah, that's the business.
- 14:07Speaker 3: Like, hello, that's the business. And now you complaining boo-hoo
- 14:10Speaker 3: on TikTok.
- 14:11Speaker 5: I know.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Good luck.
- 14:12Speaker 5: I'm thinking like, wait a minute, is this somebody I'm
- 14:15Speaker 5: supposed to know? Like, is she a legitimate writer who's
- 14:18Speaker 5: been on a thousand shows? And I looked her up
- 14:20Speaker 5: and it's not the case.
- 14:22Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:22Speaker 5: Yeah, that was.
- 14:23Speaker 1: And I'm like, yeah, it's a really hard career. It's
- 14:26Speaker 1: a hard career because when you make it, it's fabulous.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Right.
- 14:29Speaker 3: And you do make a lot.
- 14:31Speaker 5: Exactly.
- 14:31Speaker 1: So unless you're willing to put up with working for
- 14:34Speaker 1: nothing and having years of rejection.
- 14:37Speaker 5: Right.
- 14:38Speaker 1: But just doing it because you love it and you
- 14:40Speaker 1: like going to those writer meetings where you're getting paid
- 14:42Speaker 1: nothing because you're around other brilliant writing people and you're
- 14:44Speaker 1: making connections. Yeah.
- 14:46Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Go quit, go quit and put on, you know, some
- 14:51Speaker 1: weird outfit and try to be a TikTok star.
- 14:53Speaker 4: Okay.
- 14:53Speaker 3: Like, I don't know what to tell you.
- 14:55Speaker 5: Right.
- 14:55Speaker 6: Right.
- 14:55Speaker 1: But you know, but then I definitely think complaining about
- 14:58Speaker 1: your boss, like there's no way that someone didn't, if
- 15:02Speaker 1: I saw it, there's no way that someone did not
- 15:04Speaker 1: see this that actually knows her and is like Chris
- 15:07Speaker 1: or whatever, like you, Chris, I got to show you
- 15:10Speaker 1: what's what, you know, Sarah did yesterday on TikTok. All right.
- 15:15Speaker 5: Exactly.
- 15:16Speaker 3: Maybe they were thinking of staffing you.
- 15:17Speaker 5: Was it like a viral video too? I don't know.
- 15:20Speaker 3: We can check because I sent it to you, but
- 15:21Speaker 3: I don't know that it was viral.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:23Speaker 3: But I mean, I put that as my comment.
- 15:26Speaker 1: I'm like, I don't mean to be like an old
- 15:27Speaker 1: Gen X, you know, bitchy person that had to work
- 15:30Speaker 1: for where I got, but I.
- 15:31Speaker 3: Am an old ex Gen X. Yeah.
- 15:33Speaker 1: I am an old Gen X person that had to
- 15:35Speaker 1: work for where I am. And I don't feel sorry
- 15:37Speaker 1: for you. Yeah.
- 15:39Speaker 6: Idiot.
- 15:40Speaker 1: Okay. Students protest after New Hampshire school district bans urinals. Now,
- 15:45Speaker 1: I've looked into this because the first comments were like, oh,
- 15:48Speaker 1: my God, they're getting rid of urinals because trans men,
- 15:52Speaker 1: biological women who are trans men now can't use them
- 15:56Speaker 1: or don't want to see that. I don't know.
- 15:58Speaker 3: Then other people like that's not even true. This is misinformation.
- 16:02Speaker 1: They're just they just feel like the locker room shouldn't
- 16:04Speaker 1: have as many people being naked in one spot.
- 16:09Speaker 5: And.
- 16:10Speaker 1: I always thought urinals were just weird to begin with,
- 16:14Speaker 1: but I'm not a dude.
- 16:15Speaker 3: That you're just naked dick is out. Like, I just
- 16:18Speaker 3: think it's weird.
- 16:19Speaker 1: But so if you're, I mean, maybe not banning them,
- 16:22Speaker 1: but just like, I mean, I talked about this in
- 16:23Speaker 1: my standup, but like, yeah, if I was to start
- 16:26Speaker 1: a restaurant right now, I wouldn't have a men and
- 16:28Speaker 1: a women's. I would have like three smaller or four,
- 16:32Speaker 1: maybe four smaller individual restrooms.
- 16:34Speaker 5: Yeah. I think a lot of them do now.
- 16:35Speaker 3: I think that's more fair, but you know who doesn't
- 16:37Speaker 3: like it?
- 16:38Speaker 1: Women.
- 16:38Speaker 5: Men.
- 16:38Speaker 4: Men.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Oh.
- 16:39Speaker 3: People like Peter.
- 16:40Speaker 5: Why not?
- 16:41Speaker 1: Because in the past, there was never a line for
- 16:43Speaker 1: the men's. And now everybody has to wait in line.
- 16:46Speaker 5: Oh, I see. Yeah.
- 16:48Speaker 1: In the past, you could just go to, if there
- 16:49Speaker 1: was a traditional men's, you could go in and there
- 16:51Speaker 1: is a urinal. Or there just aren't as many people there.
- 16:54Speaker 3: People are quick.
- 16:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:55Speaker 3: Guys aren't putting on their makeup.
- 16:56Speaker 5: Uh-huh.
- 16:57Speaker 1: Now, he's got to wait for whatever person is in
- 17:00Speaker 1: there taking their time alone in the bathroom.
- 17:03Speaker 5: Mm-hmm. Yeah. I'm all about a urinal. I hope they
- 17:07Speaker 5: stick around.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Okay.
- 17:08Speaker 5: Yeah, you know.
- 17:09Speaker 1: Whip it out.
- 17:10Speaker 5: It works. It's a good way to pee.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:12Speaker 5: I feel like this is one of those stories where
- 17:14Speaker 5: they just come up with, like, we need something to
- 17:16Speaker 5: be angry about. Let's find something. And they find some
- 17:19Speaker 5: weird story.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Or it could be one of those things that people
- 17:23Speaker 1: that are issuing this have to have something that they
- 17:26Speaker 1: bring to the table.
- 17:27Speaker 5: Right.
- 17:27Speaker 3: Like, what's our new policy? This is our new policy.
- 17:31Speaker 1: Now you know I've done something for seven months while
- 17:34Speaker 1: I've been paid in this government job.
- 17:35Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly.
- 17:36Speaker 1: I mean, sometimes it's that, and they're like, Let's just
- 17:38Speaker 1: rearrange the bathrooms. This girl did this viral speech where
- 17:45Speaker 1: she is someone who was on the swim team with
- 17:49Speaker 1: the Leah Thompson.
- 17:51Speaker 5: Who is– Leah Thompson is the actress from Some Kind
- 17:54Speaker 5: of Wonderful. Leah Thomas, I believe.
- 17:57Speaker 1: Leah Thomas. Was the trans woman, born male, swam as
- 18:05Speaker 1: a swimmer, as a man for her entire adult life
- 18:11Speaker 1: and was like ranked 500th and then got on this
- 18:14Speaker 1: female team as a woman and put on like a
- 18:17Speaker 1: one piece suit and let her hair grow. And then
- 18:21Speaker 1: won all these trophies that we want, you know, these girls.
- 18:25Speaker 1: So all these girls that were supposed to be ranked
- 18:27Speaker 1: now longer ranked because they lost it by one point. And, um,
- 18:32Speaker 1: and you know, I'm not for it. I'm totally against it.
- 18:36Speaker 1: And like, I'm just going to say that and come
- 18:38Speaker 1: at me. It's a different body. It's a different wingspan.
- 18:40Speaker 1: It's a different chest.
- 18:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Lung span. It's just like, you know, but they, but
- 18:46Speaker 1: her speech was really good. And, um, But part of
- 18:49Speaker 1: it was that she had to be in the locker room.
- 18:53Speaker 5: With Leah Thomas.
- 18:53Speaker 1: With Leah, who still, you know, had male anatomy. She
- 19:00Speaker 1: wasn't asking for a urinal to be put in there,
- 19:02Speaker 1: but hey.
- 19:03Speaker 5: Right, right. Yeah.
- 19:05Speaker 1: But yeah, there's a big thing going on. Like, are
- 19:07Speaker 1: we just like in the process of this kind of like.
- 19:10Speaker 5: The other thing about this is when is this Leah
- 19:11Speaker 5: Thomas going to graduate college? I feel like. I mean,
- 19:14Speaker 5: isn't it just four years? I feel like your story
- 19:16Speaker 5: has been hanging around for like nine. Eventually college swimming
- 19:19Speaker 5: is over. Like this has got to be over, right?
- 19:22Speaker 1: Well, you know what? She shouldn't finish college. She should
- 19:24Speaker 1: go and transfer to the cheer junior college and just
- 19:28Speaker 1: join cheerleading and do that for another seven years. Yeah.
- 19:31Speaker 5: They seem to be there forever too.
- 19:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:33Speaker 1: She's a good athlete and maybe that'll be fun. Well,
- 19:36Speaker 1: I mean, look, they got to figure something out. Glad
- 19:40Speaker 1: I'm not athletic. Um, Okay, speaking of more school stuff,
- 19:44Speaker 1: did you hear about the principal and the gym teacher
- 19:46Speaker 1: who were fired after taking videos of themselves having sex
- 19:48Speaker 1: in the school bathroom?
- 19:49Speaker 5: I heard about it.
- 19:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:51Speaker 1: Yeah. So during, I don't know if it was during
- 19:54Speaker 1: school hours or if they were just like, meet me
- 19:56Speaker 1: at 3.30 in the bathroom. But they would have sex
- 19:58Speaker 1: and then the guy's wife would film it.
- 20:02Speaker 5: Oh, so this is.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Yes.
- 20:03Speaker 5: How many loofahs did they have on their car? oh
- 20:07Speaker 5: oh really god everyone's out there having a good time.
- 20:09Speaker 1: I mean some of these and you and then it
- 20:12Speaker 1: reminded me of the famous story of the of the
- 20:15Speaker 1: cop i know in mississippi and it was tennessee yeah
- 20:19Speaker 1: and there were so many intricate stories to this this
- 20:23Speaker 1: is the female cop who was really screwing everybody and
- 20:27Speaker 1: i read it and i like literally had to do
- 20:29Speaker 1: like a You know how when you ever see like
- 20:32Speaker 1: a movie about a detective trying to figure out a crime? Yeah.
- 20:35Speaker 3: That's what this was like.
- 20:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:37Speaker 3: Where you literally had like.
- 20:39Speaker 1: So her last name was like Megan or something. So
- 20:45Speaker 1: she was giving oral to this guy, Lewis Powell.
- 20:50Speaker 5: Is this the police officer?
- 20:51Speaker 1: Yes.
- 20:52Speaker 5: Okay.
- 20:53Speaker 3: Who, I mean, there's just so.
- 20:55Speaker 5: Oh, you really do have it all figured out like
- 20:56Speaker 5: a crime scene.
- 20:58Speaker 3: But it's been a while since I read it. She
- 21:00Speaker 3: tried to break up.
- 21:02Speaker 1: But first.
- 21:03Speaker 5: And she's married, right? And the husband decides.
- 21:05Speaker 1: She was married. She tried to break up with this
- 21:07Speaker 1: person that she was doing oral to. And he got
- 21:10Speaker 1: so depressed that he got drunk and he got in
- 21:12Speaker 1: a car crash. Then she started having sex with this guy.
- 21:16Speaker 5: Wait, is this all on video? Weren't they videoing this too?
- 21:18Speaker 5: Is this a video?
- 21:18Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 21:19Speaker 3: Would it be the office of camp? The body camp?
- 21:22Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know.
- 21:23Speaker 3: Then she was having sex with this guy, Larry.
- 21:25Speaker 1: Larry. And then she was having a threesome.
- 21:29Speaker 5: And these are all cops.
- 21:30Speaker 1: All cops. All cops. Then she was doing a threesome
- 21:33Speaker 1: with this guy, Patrick. And he wanted her to make
- 21:38Speaker 1: out with his wife. But the wife wasn't really sure.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Then it was like, then she wanted her husband, Jed Hall,
- 21:49Speaker 1: to join in a foursome. That would have been a
- 21:51Speaker 1: swinging thing. So she would have been having sex with
- 21:53Speaker 1: this guy, Patrick. and his wife, but her husband Hall
- 21:58Speaker 1: wasn't that into it. So they were trying to have
- 22:03Speaker 1: a foursome, and then there was some fetish stuff, and
- 22:06Speaker 1: then she would just do blowjobs at a jacuzzi party
- 22:09Speaker 1: just to be friendly.
- 22:10Speaker 3: You're passing out apps. She's passing out BJs.
- 22:14Speaker 1: But in the end, even though her husband, who goes
- 22:17Speaker 1: by the last name Hall, did not want to have
- 22:19Speaker 1: the foursome, he was fine with watching her get together
- 22:24Speaker 1: with the the husband and the wife, and he's sticking
- 22:28Speaker 1: by her since she got fired.
- 22:30Speaker 5: Well, as shallow as this may seem, every time I
- 22:33Speaker 5: read any type of story like this, if the players
- 22:37Speaker 5: in the story are not attractive, I'm out immediately. And
- 22:42Speaker 5: the moment I looked at this police officer, and I'm
- 22:44Speaker 5: not saying anything, but I'm saying, not my type, so
- 22:47Speaker 5: I was not interested in the story right away.
- 22:49Speaker 3: I think she's a very interesting type.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Yeah. Because.
- 22:53Speaker 3: She's not traditionally hot.
- 22:55Speaker 5: Okay.
- 22:56Speaker 1: But she has a cute face.
- 22:59Speaker 5: I could see it.
- 22:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:00Speaker 2: But it's like a little geeky of a face.
- 23:02Speaker 5: Yeah, a little geeky face. It's a geeky.
- 23:04Speaker 1: Right. And I feel there's something so interesting about a
- 23:10Speaker 1: geeky girl.
- 23:11Speaker 5: Okay.
- 23:11Speaker 1: That super horny slut. Yeah.
- 23:15Speaker 3: It's like a hidden, like, whoa.
- 23:18Speaker 1: I remember finding out that some geek was a huge
- 23:22Speaker 1: slut in college, and I was like, really?
- 23:24Speaker 5: It was the plot of every movie in 1988. Rachel
- 23:27Speaker 5: Levin Wood would take off her glasses, and I'm.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Like, what?
- 23:32Speaker 5: Or one of those actresses.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:35Speaker 5: Rachel Leigh Cook. That was her name. Yeah.
- 23:38Speaker 1: And I also think sometimes... A little of a geeky
- 23:41Speaker 1: girl that might not have been that popular. That is
- 23:44Speaker 1: how she does get popular. Right.
- 23:46Speaker 5: I believe that's it.
- 23:46Speaker 4: And she is.
- 23:47Speaker 1: Liked and it's something that she's good at.
- 23:49Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 23:50Speaker 3: And she learned it like you would learn baking a pie.
- 23:53Speaker 5: Sure.
- 23:53Speaker 1: Some people have the best pies in town and some
- 23:56Speaker 1: people give the best BJs.
- 23:57Speaker 4: Right, right.
- 23:58Speaker 6: From morning swims in Sandy Cove to coffee in Ranala
- 24:01Speaker 6: or walks along Sandy Mount Strand. At a certain point,
- 24:05Speaker 6: where you live shapes how you live. Maybe you want
- 24:07Speaker 6: more space, a shorter commute, or simply somewhere that feels
- 24:11Speaker 6: more like where you are now. On daft.ie, you can
- 24:14Speaker 6: explore the most sought-after homes for sale across South Dublin.
- 24:18Speaker 6: When you're ready for the next chapter, start with Ireland's
- 24:22Speaker 6: number one property platform. daft.ie.
- 24:26Speaker 4: I'm Darman and this is What Happens Next. Each week
- 24:29Speaker 4: on the show, I sit down with extraordinary people who
- 24:32Speaker 4: have faced tremendous setbacks and yet somehow have found a
- 24:36Speaker 4: way to turn them into their greatest strengths.
- 24:39Speaker 5: Life is one long lesson of chaos.
- 24:42Speaker 2: I'm heading to the Emmys and I have police complaints
- 24:45Speaker 2: filed against me.
- 24:45Speaker 5: When your free will was about to be taken from you,
- 24:48Speaker 5: what would you do if it was given back?
- 24:50Speaker 4: Where did that need come from where you thought that
- 24:53Speaker 4: you had to succeed in order to feel loved?
- 24:55Speaker 5: He said, I have a work dad.
- 24:57Speaker 4: I need a home dad.
- 24:58Speaker 1: What happens next?
- 24:59Speaker 7: When I came in, he started crying.
- 25:00Speaker 1: Everybody in life encounters hardships.
- 25:03Speaker 4: What defines them is not those hard moments that they
- 25:06Speaker 4: go through. It's about what happens next.
- 25:09Speaker 2: I decided to risk it all.
- 25:10Speaker 1: I realized how valuable every day was. You're worth the work.
- 25:13Speaker 6: Listen, Dara, I'm not going to pull punches.
- 25:15Speaker 3: You can use your voice even if it shakes.
- 25:17Speaker 4: The stories are different, but the impact is the same.
- 25:21Speaker 4: Only one question matters. What happens next?
- 25:31Speaker 5: This is once again... An interesting thing to me. I
- 25:35Speaker 5: was shocked that this became such a big story because
- 25:37Speaker 5: it was all over the place. It's people fucking at work.
- 25:41Speaker 5: I feel like that's an age. That happens everywhere.
- 25:44Speaker 3: This one, too, happened in cop cars and at the station.
- 25:47Speaker 3: I know. So that's what makes it bad, just like
- 25:49Speaker 3: the school.
- 25:50Speaker 5: I understand why it's all bad. okay but i also
- 25:52Speaker 5: did they also said that happens in a sec but it.
- 25:56Speaker 1: Happens that good morning everywhere happened at a station and
- 25:59Speaker 1: it happens at the school yes what do you.
- 26:01Speaker 5: Want to have the fact that i was so shocked
- 26:03Speaker 5: that people fuck at work is beyond me and.
- 26:05Speaker 3: Then don't complain that nobody wants to work.
- 26:06Speaker 5: In the market let him make it more fun and
- 26:11Speaker 5: people come work in your.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Place yeah you can't you know i really.
- 26:15Speaker 5: Don't want to wait to offer a blow job i'll
- 26:17Speaker 5: take a blow job once a week and he had
- 26:19Speaker 5: a another fifty cents Right.
- 26:21Speaker 3: You know what?
- 26:22Speaker 1: You can't screw when you're at home doing Zoom.
- 26:24Speaker 5: Exactly.
- 26:25Speaker 1: So.
- 26:26Speaker 5: Here's the problem.
- 26:26Speaker 3: They'd rather stay at.
- 26:27Speaker 1: Home and screw their one partner or nobody on Zoom.
- 26:32Speaker 1: If you're going to make them commute.
- 26:34Speaker 5: Right.
- 26:34Speaker 1: Then.
- 26:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 26:35Speaker 5: Got to give them something in the end.
- 26:37Speaker 3: The kids have found a new way to get wasted.
- 26:39Speaker 5: Oh, finally.
- 26:40Speaker 1: But it's like a healthier, more alternative to what we
- 26:43Speaker 1: would do.
- 26:44Speaker 3: Of course, Jägermeister and.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Ever clean, ever.
- 26:47Speaker 5: Clear, ever clear.
- 26:48Speaker 1: No, that was like a vodka crack. What was it?
- 26:51Speaker 3: Anyway, this is called a Borg.
- 26:53Speaker 1: It's a water jug.
- 26:56Speaker 3: And it's with what? What is it?
- 26:58Speaker 1: It's a, a water jug. They get blackout drunk using
- 27:03Speaker 1: a gallon size jug, filling it with half water and vodka,
- 27:08Speaker 1: then adding a flavor and some electrolytes to help them
- 27:12Speaker 1: with hangovers and And professionals think it's actually better because
- 27:15Speaker 1: there's less risk of someone drinking tampered because they have
- 27:18Speaker 1: their own jug. Oh. So they bring their own jug
- 27:21Speaker 1: with their cap. You know how everybody has a big
- 27:23Speaker 1: water bottle? Yeah, yeah, yeah. They just do that but
- 27:26Speaker 1: with alcohol and they keep their own thing contained.
- 27:29Speaker 5: It's a mixed drink.
- 27:29Speaker 1: It's also good for COVID.
- 27:31Speaker 4: Yeah, okay.
- 27:31Speaker 1: You're not sharing it with a punch bowl.
- 27:32Speaker 5: Also everybody just has a milk jug.
- 27:34Speaker 1: But yeah, but that's how they're getting wasted. Blackout Rage Gallon.
- 27:39Speaker 3: Oh, Blackout Rage Gallon.
- 27:41Speaker 5: Sounds great.
- 27:42Speaker 3: Anyway.
- 27:43Speaker 1: Gross.
- 27:45Speaker 3: Did you hear what the best seat in a plane is?
- 27:49Speaker 5: To live? A plane crash? Yeah. I don't know, but
- 27:53Speaker 5: I would imagine it's probably the worst seat comfort-wise, right?
- 27:56Speaker 3: It's a middle seat.
- 27:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:58Speaker 3: I think I'd rather die.
- 28:00Speaker 1: I know.
- 28:00Speaker 5: I know. I know. And honestly, does anyone ever survive? Like,
- 28:04Speaker 5: it's so rare that people survive a plane crash. I
- 28:07Speaker 5: guess there's been a couple. Very rarely. Anytime you hear
- 28:11Speaker 5: about a plane crash, you're like, and everyone's dead.
- 28:13Speaker 1: Yeah, there's been somewhere there's like that crazy turbulence.
- 28:16Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 28:17Speaker 1: Which is really, and not to be a dork, but
- 28:19Speaker 1: it really is why you should keep your seatbelt on
- 28:21Speaker 1: the whole time.
- 28:23Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 28:23Speaker 1: Because they can't give you the warning.
- 28:25Speaker 5: I know.
- 28:26Speaker 1: And you see people just flying up and hitting their head,
- 28:28Speaker 1: and that's how you're going to really get hurt.
- 28:29Speaker 3: You won't die, but you'll be really hurt that way.
- 28:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 28:31Speaker 5: I think they're just trying to sell the middle seat,
- 28:34Speaker 5: you know, because nobody wants the middle seat. I mean,
- 28:37Speaker 5: sometimes you get these guys who are just gigantic, and
- 28:39Speaker 5: it's got to be so uncomfortable.
- 28:41Speaker 1: Yeah. We always, if we don't do first class, which
- 28:45Speaker 1: most times we don't, Peter will order the two. He
- 28:51Speaker 1: gets aisle and I get window. Yeah.
- 28:53Speaker 3: Helping that no one gets that middle seat.
- 28:56Speaker 1: Right. But when someone comes by and they like see
- 28:59Speaker 1: that we know each other, they're like, oh, do you
- 29:01Speaker 1: want to? And we're both like, no.
- 29:02Speaker 5: Yeah, we're good.
- 29:04Speaker 1: I would rather like breathe the air of a stranger
- 29:07Speaker 1: and be not in the middle. Yeah.
- 29:10Speaker 3: Yeah. Because I like the window because I like to
- 29:12Speaker 3: be like tucked away.
- 29:13Speaker 1: And then Peter, of course, you know, in case there's
- 29:15Speaker 1: an emergency, he's got a let's roll, you know, like
- 29:18Speaker 1: he's got to be on the outside.
- 29:19Speaker 5: Sure, sure. I understand. I can't do window anymore. I
- 29:23Speaker 5: used to love a window. Now I feel I get
- 29:25Speaker 5: a little claustrophobic. Yeah, it just happened recently.
- 29:28Speaker 2: You know what?
- 29:29Speaker 1: I think it could be happening to me too. Yeah.
- 29:31Speaker 5: And then I saw another comedian.
- 29:32Speaker 3: I'm not enjoying Chardonnay as much either.
- 29:34Speaker 1: What's happening? Oh, no. Really?
- 29:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 29:37Speaker 5: Oh, this could be.
- 29:39Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 29:40Speaker 5: I know am I gonna transition you could be swimming
- 29:44Speaker 5: soon I got I got really freaked out one day
- 29:47Speaker 5: on a plane I was like I gotta get out
- 29:48Speaker 5: of here like I was really freaking out like I
- 29:50Speaker 5: never had anything like that panic attack or anything but
- 29:53Speaker 5: then I heard Nate Bregazzi comedian yeah talking about it
- 29:56Speaker 5: in one of his specials and he was saying that
- 29:58Speaker 5: All of a sudden, it just happened to him. I'm like, oh,
- 30:00Speaker 5: maybe it's one of the things just all of a sudden.
- 30:02Speaker 3: Happens with age.
- 30:02Speaker 5: With age, maybe. Yeah.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Well, I mean, honestly, it's probably better to be on
- 30:08Speaker 1: the outside because also as you age, you probably shouldn't
- 30:12Speaker 1: get up like every 90 minutes.
- 30:14Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 30:14Speaker 1: And just walk around a little.
- 30:15Speaker 4: Walk around.
- 30:15Speaker 3: Just go to the bathroom.
- 30:16Speaker 1: Yeah. You know?
- 30:18Speaker 5: I agree.
- 30:18Speaker 1: All right.
- 30:19Speaker 3: Cheesecake Factory. Who doesn't love it?
- 30:21Speaker 1: Who doesn't? Well, this girl said she was at a
- 30:23Speaker 1: Cheesecake Factory and- got a mac and cheese ball, like
- 30:29Speaker 1: a crust. Sounds fucking delicious.
- 30:31Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 30:32Speaker 3: In it was an entire rolled up glove.
- 30:37Speaker 5: Rubber glove?
- 30:37Speaker 1: Like a cooking glove. Yeah. Like a plastic cooking glove.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Not like a dishwashing glove.
- 30:42Speaker 5: That's disgusting, but I mean, you can see how these
- 30:45Speaker 5: things happen. I know, you can see how it happens.
- 30:47Speaker 5: I mean, what do you expect?
- 30:48Speaker 3: It's just people working there.
- 30:50Speaker 5: They like mass produce this stuff and it falls in.
- 30:52Speaker 5: Like they can't stop the whole production.
- 30:54Speaker 3: Well, no, I don't think it's like mass-produced. I mean,
- 30:56Speaker 3: it's in a kitchen at the place.
- 30:58Speaker 5: Yeah, but they're frozen. They've come from another place. I
- 31:00Speaker 5: don't think they're making the macaroni and cheese balls in
- 31:03Speaker 5: the back.
- 31:04Speaker 1: You don't?
- 31:05Speaker 4: No.
- 31:05Speaker 5: I think it's a frozen. Thank you, Annie. Definitely. 100% not.
- 31:10Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 31:11Speaker 1: It's like finding out Santa Claus.
- 31:12Speaker 5: Is not real.
- 31:13Speaker 1: What?
- 31:13Speaker 5: I think it's a frozen macaroni and cheese balls made
- 31:15Speaker 5: at a factory somewhere. Mass-produced. And they drop it in
- 31:19Speaker 5: hot oil at the place. You think they're actually making
- 31:22Speaker 5: the macaroni and cheese ball back at the kitchen at
- 31:25Speaker 5: Cheesecake Factory?
- 31:26Speaker 1: Well, yeah, because I think they do the avocado rolls
- 31:29Speaker 1: like that. You can't have an old avocado hanging out.
- 31:32Speaker 5: Yes, you can. Yeah, frozen avocado.
- 31:35Speaker 1: I need to hear from someone who has worked at
- 31:37Speaker 1: Cheesecake Factory that is going to let me know what
- 31:39Speaker 1: is the truth.
- 31:40Speaker 5: Well, as a person who's worked at many restaurants, and
- 31:42Speaker 5: usually not chain restaurants like this, but I'm safe to say...
- 31:45Speaker 5: What the hell?
- 31:48Speaker 1: Yes.
- 31:48Speaker 5: I'm going to venture to guess... And nothing against Cheesecake Factory.
- 31:52Speaker 5: I love it. I'm a fan.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Me too.
- 31:54Speaker 5: But I'm going to say 90% of their stuff is frozen.
- 31:58Speaker 1: Well, I love the skinny menu. And I get the
- 32:02Speaker 1: grilled chicken, Asian grilled chicken in a butter lettuce taco.
- 32:06Speaker 3: Three of them.
- 32:08Speaker 1: Totally good.
- 32:09Speaker 3: I mean, once they put the calories, I couldn't order
- 32:11Speaker 3: the avocado. Killed it.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Killed it for me.
- 32:14Speaker 5: Yeah. Sitting at a Cheesecake Factory bar. And sometimes you
- 32:18Speaker 5: have to do it in every city you go to
- 32:20Speaker 5: to perform. Sometimes it's only showing. The greatest. They bring
- 32:24Speaker 5: that bread, that brown oatmeal coated bread. Yeah. Listen, Cheesecake Factory,
- 32:29Speaker 5: I'm not going to tell you how to do your business,
- 32:30Speaker 5: but your butter, sometimes a little too hard. Where are
- 32:34Speaker 5: you freezing that? The North Pole? I mean, come on.
- 32:39Speaker 5: I mean, it's frozen solid. I know. You can't even
- 32:41Speaker 5: get in it.
- 32:43Speaker 1: Could you leave it out before?
- 32:44Speaker 5: Yeah, put it in a microwave or something.
- 32:45Speaker 1: Anyway.
- 32:47Speaker 3: They didn't even get a refund. They didn't even take
- 32:51Speaker 3: it off.
- 32:52Speaker 5: Really?
- 32:53Speaker 1: I can't believe that they wouldn't take it off.
- 32:54Speaker 5: I need to see a picture of the glove.
- 32:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't even know if there's a picture. I
- 32:58Speaker 1: think the New York Post might have been desperate for
- 33:00Speaker 1: some stuff. But I love a good Cheesecake Factory story.
- 33:03Speaker 5: Yeah, I want to say that I'm a fan. So
- 33:06Speaker 5: I don't want this to reflect poorly on my love
- 33:09Speaker 5: of the Cheesecake Factory.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Yeah, you've always talked about the Cheesecake Factory being very
- 33:12Speaker 1: similar to the inside of Britney Spears' house.
- 33:14Speaker 5: Yes. It's a very interesting architecture in the Cheesecake Factory.
- 33:19Speaker 5: I don't really understand. Yeah, the architecture makes no sense
- 33:23Speaker 5: to me of a Cheesecake Factory. It's got a very weird...
- 33:26Speaker 5: Like Temple of Doom theme going on.
- 33:29Speaker 1: I just wonder, when will they ever redo it?
- 33:35Speaker 5: I don't think they should.
- 33:37Speaker 1: Why not?
- 33:38Speaker 5: You know it when you walk in it.
- 33:40Speaker 1: It's not like people aren't going to Cheesecake Factory because there's.
- 33:42Speaker 3: A rubber glove.
- 33:45Speaker 5: They're always packed.
- 33:46Speaker 1: If somebody planned to go to Cheesecake Factory tonight, us
- 33:50Speaker 1: talking about this is not going to change their plan.
- 33:53Speaker 1: So why would you spend... millions of dollars redoing it.
- 33:57Speaker 5: If you're going to change something, change the way to
- 33:59Speaker 5: let me, alert me that my table is ready.
- 34:01Speaker 1: Yes.
- 34:02Speaker 5: Then with that buzzer that scares the shit out of
- 34:05Speaker 5: me every time it goes off. It's been going on
- 34:08Speaker 5: for 20 years now and every time it buzzes, I
- 34:11Speaker 5: still freak out.
- 34:12Speaker 1: Yeah. Amazing. This was another weird thing that seems so strange.
- 34:20Speaker 1: This girl said that She goes, a big F you
- 34:25Speaker 1: to the people who walked out. $ 300 worth of food
- 34:27Speaker 1: and alcohol. And the card declined. And I had to
- 34:30Speaker 1: pay part of the bill since I was your server.
- 34:32Speaker 1: Not only did I lose out on a $ 55 tip,
- 34:35Speaker 1: I lost 70 of my own money because of y'all.
- 34:37Speaker 3: Treat your servers better and don't order shit you can't afford.
- 34:40Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 34:40Speaker 3: Have you ever heard of that as a server?
- 34:42Speaker 1: I have. Oh, really?
- 34:44Speaker 5: Well, yes. I would imagine this is probably a family-run
- 34:48Speaker 5: restaurant where, you know, I'm going to assume it's... Like
- 34:52Speaker 5: a Greek-run restaurant. Greeks are bigger in the restaurant business.
- 34:54Speaker 5: I worked for a Greek for many years in a restaurant.
- 34:56Speaker 1: Okay.
- 34:56Speaker 5: And anytime anything went down, like they got to get
- 34:59Speaker 5: their money. And they don't care about the waitress. She'd
- 35:02Speaker 5: quit and we'll fire somebody tomorrow. But if your credit
- 35:06Speaker 5: card declined, I would imagine.
- 35:08Speaker 1: So it must have been declined.
- 35:10Speaker 5: You got to give me something, baby.
- 35:11Speaker 1: Give me.
- 35:12Speaker 3: So she was waiting on them. The card was declined.
- 35:14Speaker 1: And then they just got up and left while the
- 35:16Speaker 1: card was being processed. Right.
- 35:18Speaker 3: And by the time she came back, they were gone,
- 35:20Speaker 3: and it didn't go through.
- 35:21Speaker 1: Right.
- 35:21Speaker 5: So I would imagine. Like if it was a chain restaurant,
- 35:23Speaker 5: a cheesecake factory.
- 35:24Speaker 3: But how are you supposed to keep them in there?
- 35:26Speaker 5: You're not.
- 35:26Speaker 1: But they're still out $ 300.
- 35:28Speaker 5: They're still out $ 300. The family-owned restaurant, somebody's going to
- 35:32Speaker 5: have to pay for it.
- 35:33Speaker 1: Well, that really sucks.
- 35:33Speaker 5: It does suck.
- 35:34Speaker 1: It's not right.
- 35:35Speaker 3: I don't know if she should have. She should have
- 35:36Speaker 3: exposed the place.
- 35:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 35:38Speaker 3: Now, this couple, they went to Starbucks.
- 35:40Speaker 1: And for a long time, when you go to Starbucks
- 35:42Speaker 1: and you pay with a card, there wasn't an option
- 35:45Speaker 1: to tip. Yeah.
- 35:46Speaker 3: You just say, like, okay.
- 35:47Speaker 5: Right.
- 35:48Speaker 1: So in the last six months, they now have the
- 35:51Speaker 1: thing where they turn it around and they go, it
- 35:53Speaker 1: just has to ask you a question.
- 35:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 35:55Speaker 3: And now they have the one, two, three, four tip.
- 35:58Speaker 1: And you have to, right?
- 35:59Speaker 5: I mean, otherwise. Always.
- 36:01Speaker 1: I'm happy to.
- 36:02Speaker 5: A dollar, whatever.
- 36:03Speaker 1: But I guess this guy didn't know, but I guess
- 36:07Speaker 1: he maybe, they don't know if the guy at Starbucks
- 36:10Speaker 1: did it or him, but he must have pressed.
- 36:12Speaker 3: Like four, four, four, $ 4, 000 tip.
- 36:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:16Speaker 3: And his card automatically got charged.
- 36:19Speaker 1: And then they were about to go somewhere, and their
- 36:22Speaker 1: card was declined. And they couldn't straighten it out in
- 36:28Speaker 1: time with a credit card company, so they had to
- 36:29Speaker 1: cancel a trip.
- 36:31Speaker 5: Oh, really?
- 36:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:32Speaker 5: Oh, no.
- 36:33Speaker 1: But this is what happens with these things. Yeah.
- 36:39Speaker 3: With the turning around. So I asked Annie.
- 36:40Speaker 1: She used to work at a coffee shop. And she
- 36:43Speaker 1: always felt weird turning it around and being like.
- 36:46Speaker 5: It is weird.
- 36:47Speaker 1: But I go, but yeah, but you made a lot
- 36:49Speaker 1: more money having it that than had they not.
- 36:53Speaker 3: There's no way....
- 36:56Speaker 1: Because you just feel it less when it's on a card.
- 36:59Speaker 1: Because now you've paid $ 10 for your thing and then
- 37:01Speaker 1: you're like, oh, two more? I don't know, you just
- 37:04Speaker 1: feel it. So I think it's a genius thing. But
- 37:07Speaker 1: I think we've talked about this before, but some of
- 37:10Speaker 1: the places.
- 37:12Speaker 3: It starts with, you know, like 10, 15, 20, 25.
- 37:15Speaker 1: Okay.
- 37:17Speaker 3: Some of them have literally started.
- 37:18Speaker 1: With 22, 25, 30, and 33%.
- 37:23Speaker 3: Because I think they think automatically it'll just go to
- 37:25Speaker 3: the first one. Well, the first one is 22%.
- 37:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:28Speaker 3: And you're like, all right. Now this like $ 4 thing
- 37:31Speaker 3: is literally $ 6.
- 37:32Speaker 1: Like what? I know.
- 37:36Speaker 5: I mean, I think the hope is, and I'm going
- 37:39Speaker 5: to defend tipped employees.
- 37:41Speaker 3: Definitely.
- 37:43Speaker 5: That it all comes back. It's a wheels of commerce. Yes.
- 37:48Speaker 5: Now that tipped employee makes more money. They spend more
- 37:51Speaker 5: money on your product.
- 37:53Speaker 4: Right.
- 37:53Speaker 5: And everybody's doing better. But I don't know if that's
- 37:56Speaker 5: necessarily the case, but that's the hope.
- 37:58Speaker 1: I love it too for that exact reason. And, you know, again,
- 38:02Speaker 1: it doesn't affect the store owner. Right.
- 38:04Speaker 3: Like it doesn't cost them anything.
- 38:06Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 38:07Speaker 1: And I like that you're dealing with people because there's
- 38:09Speaker 1: so many places now that it's just you go to
- 38:12Speaker 1: the restaurant at the airport.
- 38:13Speaker 3: It's an iPad.
- 38:14Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 38:14Speaker 3: And I'm like, we got it.
- 38:16Speaker 1: I still want to see like a face and I
- 38:18Speaker 1: still want to like talk to.
- 38:19Speaker 3: And so I don't want to get rid of humans completely.
- 38:22Speaker 5: No, I know. Me neither. Yeah, I don't even like
- 38:26Speaker 5: the ring up your own thing at the grocery store.
- 38:29Speaker 5: I don't like it.
- 38:30Speaker 1: I never do it.
- 38:32Speaker 3: It's too much.
- 38:34Speaker 1: Kids like to do it, so I let them do it,
- 38:35Speaker 1: but I don't like to do it. Lady Gaga's dad
- 38:39Speaker 1: said that New York smells like weed everywhere. Have you
- 38:43Speaker 1: found that since you've been in New York? I just
- 38:47Speaker 1: smell it everywhere I go.
- 38:48Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 38:48Speaker 5: Weed, actually kind of a nice scent. I don't mind
- 38:51Speaker 5: the scent of weed. New York City has smelled like
- 38:53Speaker 5: far worse than weed, if you've ever been there. Everyone knows.
- 38:56Speaker 5: It's pee-pee, a lot of pee-pee in New York. So, yeah,
- 38:59Speaker 5: I don't think that's too bad at all.
- 39:00Speaker 1: Good.
- 39:01Speaker 5: Fine.
- 39:01Speaker 1: Okay, a little follow-up on the horrible Idaho murders. Now
- 39:08Speaker 1: the roommate who said that she had eye contact or
- 39:12Speaker 1: thought she had eye contact, I don't think he saw her.
- 39:15Speaker 1: She actually thought, and this is what I initially always thought,
- 39:19Speaker 1: that it was partying.
- 39:20Speaker 5: Yeah, partying.
- 39:21Speaker 3: And at one point she even yelled out and was like,
- 39:23Speaker 3: keep it down.
- 39:24Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 39:24Speaker 3: Unbeknownst to her, they're getting killed. And so then, and
- 39:28Speaker 3: she's wasted.
- 39:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 39:30Speaker 5: She's like, keep it down.
- 39:30Speaker 1: And then she sees this person leaving in a mask,
- 39:34Speaker 1: and she thought he.
- 39:35Speaker 3: Was just partying.
- 39:36Speaker 5: Yeah, why wouldn't she think that?
- 39:37Speaker 3: And now she has said, which is what I always said,
- 39:40Speaker 3: she passed out.
- 39:41Speaker 2: Oh, really?
- 39:42Speaker 3: And then woke up at like 11.
- 39:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 39:44Speaker 3: Went back to bed, woke up at like 11.
- 39:46Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 39:46Speaker 1: She definitely did not think that what she saw was
- 39:50Speaker 1: someone who murdered her friends.
- 39:51Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 39:52Speaker 1: According to this latest thing.
- 39:54Speaker 5: The whole thing is just, that's a crazy story.
- 39:56Speaker 1: Really is. This is just a picture of Madonna. And
- 40:01Speaker 1: I want to just say one thing about Madonna's look.
- 40:04Speaker 6: Right.
- 40:04Speaker 1: Because everyone's very affected.
- 40:05Speaker 5: You can't say anything. She's very angry. She says your age.
- 40:07Speaker 3: I'm going to tell you right now.
- 40:08Speaker 2: I'm not.
- 40:09Speaker 1: All right.
- 40:10Speaker 3: Get rid of the red hair.
- 40:11Speaker 1: Okay. Get rid of the red hair. Go back to blonde,
- 40:16Speaker 1: whether it's your own hair or wigs.
- 40:17Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 40:18Speaker 3: Get some bangs. Oh, all right.
- 40:21Speaker 1: It's very, it's very it.
- 40:23Speaker 5: Rocky Dennis?
- 40:24Speaker 3: It's very Rocky Dennis. It's very it with the red hair,
- 40:27Speaker 3: with the huge forehead.
- 40:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 40:29Speaker 1: And like, I mean, this is blurred, but just like,
- 40:32Speaker 1: look at that. And then the no eyebrows. Then having
- 40:35Speaker 1: no eyebrows also makes your forehead look bigger. Yeah.
- 40:39Speaker 3: And it's so pulled back and it's so shiny.
- 40:41Speaker 2: Right.
- 40:42Speaker 1: So... I just think we can fix this problem with
- 40:45Speaker 1: just blonde.
- 40:46Speaker 3: Hair and bangs.
- 40:47Speaker 5: Okay.
- 40:48Speaker 1: I'm here to help.
- 40:49Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 40:50Speaker 1: I'm not here to shame.
- 40:51Speaker 5: I feel like as I get older, my eyebrows are
- 40:52Speaker 5: going away. I used to have a nice eyebrow. Now
- 40:56Speaker 5: it's kind of almost gone. I hear that happens with age,
- 40:58Speaker 5: but there's really no way to get it back once
- 41:02Speaker 5: it's gone. I would add light eyebrows to begin with,
- 41:05Speaker 5: but now they're disappearing, and it's a sad situation.
- 41:10Speaker 1: Chris, I'm so glad I don't have my makeup back
- 41:13Speaker 1: here because I would draw.
- 41:14Speaker 5: Oh, I would love it.
- 41:15Speaker 1: The best eyebrows. That would look so amazing. If I
- 41:19Speaker 1: had an eyebrow pencil here.
- 41:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:21Speaker 1: We are doing that next time you're here.
- 41:23Speaker 5: I would like it because, and then I also feel
- 41:25Speaker 5: like I see guys who get there, you know, they
- 41:27Speaker 5: must go through the same thing I'm going through and
- 41:29Speaker 5: they do it. And then it looks too much. I
- 41:31Speaker 5: need a middle ground. I mean, honestly. I can't have zero,
- 41:35Speaker 5: but I gotta have something.
- 41:36Speaker 1: If we went to a hairdresser or somebody. I think
- 41:41Speaker 1: if you did a little bit of brown hair dye
- 41:44Speaker 1: on your brows, I don't think you need to do
- 41:47Speaker 1: what people are doing when they tattoo more brows or anything.
- 41:49Speaker 3: But if you just darken.
- 41:50Speaker 2: Them a little.
- 41:51Speaker 1: But I don't, I see, I don't see any difference.
- 41:54Speaker 1: I don't think you look like Madonna. I don't like,
- 41:57Speaker 1: don't think, no.
- 41:58Speaker 5: Well, I'll say this. My wife got me something. She
- 42:01Speaker 5: gave some sort of brow thing.
- 42:03Speaker 3: Oh, serum to make it grow?
- 42:05Speaker 5: No, just like a little makeup that I will apply.
- 42:09Speaker 5: Like before shows, like not on a regular Tuesday when
- 42:11Speaker 5: I'm walking around Home Depot. You know, I don't want
- 42:14Speaker 5: to look like somebody, like I just came from a
- 42:16Speaker 5: drag brunch. And it's my day off, you know. Oh,
- 42:22Speaker 5: I could, I could. Oh, but anyway, so that, but
- 42:27Speaker 5: I do it like before shows a little bit.
- 42:29Speaker 3: Along with your self-tanner?
- 42:30Speaker 5: Oh, the self-tanner. It's a whole routine.
- 42:33Speaker 1: I love it.
- 42:34Speaker 3: For those construction workers, they didn't even appreciate it. Stolen
- 42:37Speaker 3: Youth on Hulu.
- 42:39Speaker 5: Okay.
- 42:40Speaker 1: This was the story. I talked a lot about it
- 42:42Speaker 1: on this show about this girl had a bunch of
- 42:47Speaker 1: friends and they lived at Sarah Lawrence College, which is
- 42:50Speaker 1: like some ridiculous $ 85, 000 a year.
- 42:53Speaker 3: It used to be all girls. They let guys in.
- 42:55Speaker 1: Yeah. Their theme is, You're different. Well, we're different too.
- 42:59Speaker 3: So it's like, honestly, not what I would want.
- 43:03Speaker 1: The complete opposite of what I experienced at a Pac-10
- 43:06Speaker 1: school with sororities and fraternities in Southern California.
- 43:10Speaker 3: Like this would be my worst experience.
- 43:12Speaker 1: Just like these. Anyway, so they're there. And this one
- 43:16Speaker 1: girl is like, oh, my dad's going to come visit.
- 43:19Speaker 1: The dad starts like living there, living in the sophomore
- 43:24Speaker 1: year housing, but the school owns it. The only thing
- 43:27Speaker 1: that makes that kind of important to the story is
- 43:30Speaker 1: that the college then was, I think, held responsible when
- 43:35Speaker 1: the parents eventually sued the college.
- 43:37Speaker 5: Oh, okay.
- 43:37Speaker 1: Because it was on housing that they owned that nobody checked.
- 43:41Speaker 1: And there was people writing letters. Their friends were like,
- 43:45Speaker 1: I think there's something weird going on. Then he takes
- 43:48Speaker 1: them to this other apartment in New York. And he
- 43:50Speaker 1: really mind screws them as a cult. He starts sleeping
- 43:53Speaker 1: with one girl.
- 43:54Speaker 5: The father.
- 43:55Speaker 1: The father. And also these guys, which are all interviewed
- 43:59Speaker 1: in this, which is pretty remarkable. Yeah. If you followed
- 44:01Speaker 1: the story, you know, there was one awful part of
- 44:04Speaker 1: the story that I don't think they cover. Where they
- 44:07Speaker 1: made one boy who thought, they're not boys, they're like,
- 44:11Speaker 1: you know, in their 20s. But he said, I don't
- 44:13Speaker 1: know if I'm like gay or not. And the guy's like,
- 44:16Speaker 1: I don't think you're gay. But if you think you're gay,
- 44:19Speaker 1: and made him like wear a dress and like penetrate
- 44:24Speaker 1: himself while the group watched. What? Yeah. They don't feature
- 44:28Speaker 1: that part in the Hulu doc.
- 44:29Speaker 5: Oh, unfortunately.
- 44:30Speaker 1: And I don't think– and I'm like– I was going
- 44:34Speaker 1: in and out of consciousness and then I had horrible
- 44:36Speaker 1: college dreams as I watched it because I was like
- 44:38Speaker 1: falling asleep.
- 44:39Speaker 3: But it's three parts and it's just insane.
- 44:42Speaker 1: Yeah. And then he would like– he just completely mind
- 44:45Speaker 1: screwed them and he would be like, you know, you
- 44:49Speaker 1: scratched this pan of mine. And then he would just
- 44:52Speaker 1: berate them. Why did you do it? Why did you
- 44:54Speaker 1: do it? And they're like, I don't know. I'm a
- 44:56Speaker 1: bad person and all this stuff. And then he'd be like, well,
- 44:59Speaker 1: now you owe me this much money.
- 45:00Speaker 3: How are you going to pay them off?
- 45:02Speaker 1: Then he takes them to this property and makes them
- 45:05Speaker 1: like dig holes and lay down pipes when these kids
- 45:09Speaker 1: are like– From these super liberal rich white families. They've
- 45:13Speaker 1: never worked in any kind of construction. And then he'd
- 45:16Speaker 1: be like, you did it wrong. Now you owe me
- 45:18Speaker 1: all this money because you damaged my property.
- 45:21Speaker 3: And the only way that you can pay it off
- 45:24Speaker 3: is to be a prostitute.
- 45:26Speaker 1: Yes. And so then this girl ended up being completely
- 45:31Speaker 1: sex trafficked from him.
- 45:33Speaker 5: Right.
- 45:34Speaker 1: And then she was like recruiting. It's a bit, it's
- 45:36Speaker 1: long and I haven't watched the whole thing. And, And
- 45:39Speaker 1: writing it out to the point where she made him
- 45:41Speaker 1: like a million dollars.
- 45:42Speaker 5: Really?
- 45:43Speaker 3: She just had to be at a hotel.
- 45:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:45Speaker 3: So I'm just thinking back to the parents.
- 45:47Speaker 5: Wow, that's crazy.
- 45:48Speaker 3: That have a smart kid.
- 45:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:50Speaker 3: That get into school.
- 45:52Speaker 5: I know.
- 45:52Speaker 1: And possibly pay the $ 80, 000. One girl I think had
- 45:55Speaker 1: a scholarship. And then he would call them and he'd say,
- 45:58Speaker 1: he'd call the parents. And he'd be like, hey, I'm
- 46:02Speaker 1: just going to use your name. Annie is not coming
- 46:05Speaker 1: home for a break because she hates you. She hates you.
- 46:09Speaker 1: You are a really bad mom. You are a neglectful mom.
- 46:13Speaker 1: And if she comes home, she's going to probably kill herself.
- 46:17Speaker 1: So I've been talking to her every night, convincing her
- 46:19Speaker 1: not to kill herself and to not hate you. And
- 46:22Speaker 1: then he would manipulate the poor parents so much that
- 46:24Speaker 1: they'd be like, well, my God, thank you. Thank you
- 46:27Speaker 1: for saving my daughter. Meanwhile, he's mind screwing them, making
- 46:31Speaker 1: them work like.
- 46:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 46:33Speaker 1: And, but there were all these friends and stuff that
- 46:35Speaker 1: tried to tell the school, tried to tell other people like,
- 46:38Speaker 1: this isn't good. Eventually every, there were three boys, each
- 46:43Speaker 1: boy one day just like got up and left.
- 46:45Speaker 3: So the boys actually got away.
- 46:48Speaker 5: Right.
- 46:48Speaker 1: They were not being sex trafficked. The girls then lasted. Anyway,
- 46:53Speaker 1: he got 60 years. Thank God.
- 46:55Speaker 5: The guy.
- 46:55Speaker 1: The guy. Oh, wow. But it's such an intricate, insane story.
- 47:00Speaker 1: And they have, of him I believe it's the actual
- 47:04Speaker 1: audio of him just berating them for hours like how
- 47:10Speaker 1: the mind control works yeah and the fact that now
- 47:14Speaker 1: which I always think is so interesting is when someone
- 47:16Speaker 1: leaves the cult and things like yeah this is what
- 47:20Speaker 1: I thought because you always are like When you hear
- 47:21Speaker 1: about it, you're like, how did someone believe this?
- 47:23Speaker 5: I always think about that. How did someone believe it?
- 47:25Speaker 5: Even the parents, like when you were saying the parents.
- 47:27Speaker 5: I'm like, if anyone called me, I'm like, oh, fuck off.
- 47:31Speaker 5: And I would go to the college and get my daughter.
- 47:35Speaker 1: I think the biggest threat right now that parents face is,
- 47:41Speaker 1: will my child kill themselves? Yeah.
- 47:45Speaker 3: And they use it for everything.
- 47:46Speaker 1: Right, right. Yeah. If you don't go along with what
- 47:48Speaker 1: your child wants.
- 47:50Speaker 5: Right.
- 47:50Speaker 3: If you.
- 47:51Speaker 1: If your child isn't happy, if your child... And, you know,
- 47:54Speaker 1: then what will you do with yourself? Like.
- 47:56Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 47:56Speaker 1: So, yeah, he played on the biggest fear that a
- 47:59Speaker 1: parent has.
- 48:00Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 48:01Speaker 3: And it happens. And so many kids in college, like,
- 48:03Speaker 3: have mental illness and are unhappy and lonely. And you're like, oh,
- 48:06Speaker 3: my God, you know. It's just.
- 48:10Speaker 1: It's like.
- 48:10Speaker 3: It's insane.
- 48:11Speaker 5: Do you think you could be... manipulated into a cult
- 48:16Speaker 5: of any kind? Do I, like, do you think you're
- 48:20Speaker 5: too strong willed? My, your mind is too sure. Or
- 48:24Speaker 5: do you think there's a way they could get you
- 48:27Speaker 5: into a cult? I always, every time I watch these
- 48:29Speaker 5: cult documentaries, I'm like, I see where I would be out.
- 48:32Speaker 5: You know, I'm like, nah, that's where I'd be out.
- 48:34Speaker 1: I did go to a Mary Kay brunch once.
- 48:36Speaker 5: It's kind of like the same thing.
- 48:39Speaker 3: And I know, so I actually don't think I could
- 48:41Speaker 3: get sucked in.
- 48:41Speaker 5: Cause what?
- 48:42Speaker 1: Yeah. It's always, I, I'm, I would get approached because
- 48:45Speaker 1: I always want to be that person that was like open-minded.
- 48:48Speaker 1: And I also would always, I would be approached by
- 48:51Speaker 1: a lot of Christians. Yeah. Because I do, I did
- 48:54Speaker 1: like like Jesus talk.
- 48:55Speaker 5: There was a lot of Jesus commercials during the Super Bowl.
- 48:58Speaker 5: There were two Jesus commercials during the Super Bowl.
- 49:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 49:01Speaker 5: And one Scientology. So you pick your choice.
- 49:05Speaker 1: Speaking of Jesus, I wanted to show you this one thing.
- 49:08Speaker 1: Where is that? Okay.
- 49:10Speaker 4: Okay.
- 49:12Speaker 1: Um, I guess it was lightning that hit the big
- 49:14Speaker 1: Jesus in Brazil.
- 49:15Speaker 5: I've been there.
- 49:16Speaker 1: And so a lot of people were posting like, you know,
- 49:18Speaker 1: the end is near Jesus.
- 49:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 49:20Speaker 1: Isn't screwing around. Like he's trying to tell us something.
- 49:23Speaker 1: I guess other people wrote like this has happened a lot. Right.
- 49:26Speaker 1: And this isn't the first time this happened with the Jesus.
- 49:29Speaker 1: But I wanted to write like, this is me performing
- 49:31Speaker 1: stand at the Tempe Improv.
- 49:34Speaker 5: I think Jesus just made a joke about it.
- 49:36Speaker 1: No, but I did post something after a couple glasses
- 49:40Speaker 1: of wine and then I removed it where I highlighted
- 49:44Speaker 1: a comment of someone being like, this chick doesn't believe
- 49:46Speaker 1: in Jesus. And it just made me so mad because
- 49:48Speaker 1: as someone that's like honestly believed in Jesus for the
- 49:50Speaker 1: whole life and given a lot of money to my church,
- 49:53Speaker 1: supported Catholics and Christians, the whole thing of me fainting
- 49:57Speaker 1: and people thinking that somehow like Jesus was mad at
- 50:01Speaker 1: me and I did that and I was like anti.
- 50:04Speaker 3: I can't believe it bothers me so much.
- 50:05Speaker 1: It just does because it's like, don't say I'm not
- 50:09Speaker 1: a fan of Jesus. But anyway, speaking of the cult thing,
- 50:14Speaker 1: going back to that. So let me tell you about
- 50:16Speaker 1: my Mary Kay brunch. And I make no offense to
- 50:18Speaker 1: anyone that works Mary Kay, and I'm sure it's very
- 50:19Speaker 1: different today.
- 50:20Speaker 5: We had one woman in our neighborhood who got the
- 50:23Speaker 5: pink car. Isn't that Mary Kay? We had to sell
- 50:26Speaker 5: so much that you got the pink car. She was
- 50:28Speaker 5: the envy of the neighborhood.
- 50:29Speaker 1: I don't know how they do it anymore because I'm
- 50:32Speaker 1: assuming you could just go online and order whatever you want.
- 50:35Speaker 5: Right.
- 50:36Speaker 1: Back then, the people would have like an extra bedroom
- 50:40Speaker 1: that was like a store. Yeah. And they would be like,
- 50:43Speaker 1: I'll get you this and this and this and this
- 50:44Speaker 1: and then, you know, convince other people to sell it
- 50:47Speaker 1: and also, but also sell the stuff.
- 50:49Speaker 5: Right.
- 50:50Speaker 1: Now I think we have a good knowledge about multi-level marketing.
- 50:53Speaker 1: So hopefully if you're thinking about getting into something, you
- 50:56Speaker 1: really can, I don't want to like piss on all
- 50:58Speaker 1: of it but just like you can end up spending
- 51:00Speaker 1: a lot of money and never selling any of it
- 51:02Speaker 1: okay so anyway but Mary Kay seemed to have been
- 51:06Speaker 1: around and the products were okay so I had this
- 51:08Speaker 1: girl that worked at Robinson's Bay with me in the
- 51:11Speaker 1: corporate and her mom was a big Mary Kay person
- 51:14Speaker 1: and she was gorgeous girl she's anyway so she was
- 51:19Speaker 1: like um you know I'm gonna just start selling Mary
- 51:24Speaker 1: Kay I'm like and so She's like, Heather, I really
- 51:27Speaker 1: want you to come to this brunch with us.
- 51:30Speaker 3: And I'm hating my job. I don't know if I've
- 51:32Speaker 3: been fired yet.
- 51:33Speaker 1: Yeah. But I like makeup. So she invites me to
- 51:38Speaker 1: this brunch.
- 51:38Speaker 5: Okay.
- 51:39Speaker 1: And the woman does a speech. And their whole thing,
- 51:44Speaker 1: God first, family second, career third.
- 51:47Speaker 5: Mary Kay?
- 51:48Speaker 3: That's the Mary Kay motto.
- 51:49Speaker 5: Oh, I didn't know it was a God thing.
- 51:50Speaker 1: Back in 1992.
- 51:51Speaker 5: I didn't know that. So it's a religious thing?
- 51:54Speaker 1: And a lot of Mormons get into multi-level marketing because
- 51:57Speaker 1: it's a big push to say you can do it
- 52:00Speaker 1: from home. You don't have to leave your kids 10
- 52:02Speaker 1: hours a day and you can have your own business.
- 52:06Speaker 1: And also you'll have an immediate network if you're a
- 52:08Speaker 1: mom and especially if you're at a church.
- 52:10Speaker 5: Right.
- 52:10Speaker 1: Okay. You're always meeting people. You're always kids' new classroom
- 52:14Speaker 1: every year of like potential people that you can get
- 52:16Speaker 1: under you. So they go through the whole thing and
- 52:19Speaker 1: the girl comes over and she is just amazing. beautiful
- 52:23Speaker 1: and so sweet. The head lady that gave you the speech.
- 52:25Speaker 3: And she's like, so what do you think? You know,
- 52:27Speaker 3: what do you think? And I'm like, oh, I don't know.
- 52:29Speaker 1: You know, cause the initial to join is, you know, whatever,
- 52:32Speaker 1: a thousand dollars or something and you get all this stuff.
- 52:35Speaker 1: And my friend was really organized and she had like
- 52:37Speaker 1: a room of all this stuff. And I'm like, I
- 52:39Speaker 1: share a room with another girl. Like, I don't know
- 52:41Speaker 1: where I could keep all this Mary Kay stuff.
- 52:44Speaker 5: Like, I'm like, yeah.
- 52:46Speaker 1: And I'm kind of like, and also I'm like, my
- 52:48Speaker 1: friends are like, We go to the mall and we
- 52:50Speaker 1: buy Mac. Like I don't know that we're going to
- 52:52Speaker 1: be into like Mary Kay. But the thing is I
- 52:56Speaker 1: had been exposed to Mary Kay since I was nine.
- 53:00Speaker 1: Because my sister and I went to some place and
- 53:04Speaker 1: they said, get a free facial. And we were like,
- 53:06Speaker 1: want to get a new facial? We put our name in.
- 53:08Speaker 1: And the girl called my sister. You know, we had
- 53:10Speaker 1: our own line since we were like eight.
- 53:12Speaker 5: Phone line.
- 53:13Speaker 1: Phone line. Because my parents used their line for real estate.
- 53:16Speaker 1: So my sister's like, yes, we'd like a free facial.
- 53:18Speaker 1: So here comes this girl, this woman, like a full
- 53:21Speaker 1: grown woman, comes to our house.
- 53:23Speaker 5: Oh my God.
- 53:23Speaker 1: I don't think she knew we were little girls.
- 53:25Speaker 3: So we're like nine and 11.
- 53:27Speaker 1: She sets up the whole thing to do like the
- 53:29Speaker 1: facial and all this.
- 53:30Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 53:32Speaker 3: And, you know, so she explains the story. She does
- 53:36Speaker 3: the whole presentation.
- 53:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 53:37Speaker 1: The way Mary Kay came up with this is that
- 53:39Speaker 1: there was a cow on her property and accidentally something
- 53:43Speaker 1: fell on the cow's skin and she noticed that it
- 53:45Speaker 1: got all like soft. And from that, she created this
- 53:50Speaker 1: line that like, you know, made your skin beautiful. Cindy
- 53:54Speaker 1: Crawford had a thing with a, with a melon.
- 53:56Speaker 5: Oh, not a cow.
- 53:58Speaker 1: Cindy Crawford and her skincare line. That was all on
- 54:01Speaker 1: like infomercials.
- 54:02Speaker 3: It was with a French guy.
- 54:03Speaker 1: And he said, there was this French, there was this
- 54:05Speaker 1: melon that would, would go rotten. And then we put
- 54:09Speaker 1: something in it and it lasted so much longer. And
- 54:11Speaker 1: that's what we're going to put in your skin.
- 54:12Speaker 5: Oh, okay.
- 54:13Speaker 1: So, and you can look at Cindy Crawford. So anyway,
- 54:17Speaker 1: I like, I knew, so I'm like, okay. And so,
- 54:19Speaker 1: and the girl selling it didn't have great skin.
- 54:23Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 54:24Speaker 1: And she had like glasses and she was just like trying.
- 54:26Speaker 5: Like an old Mel.
- 54:27Speaker 1: Like a mom. She was trying to like, a young
- 54:29Speaker 1: mom just trying to like drove all our way to
- 54:31Speaker 1: her house.
- 54:32Speaker 3: Hoping to make a sale or recruit us as salespeople.
- 54:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 54:35Speaker 3: But we're 9-11.
- 54:38Speaker 5: Did you get the facial?
- 54:39Speaker 4: No. Oh, yeah.
- 54:40Speaker 1: We did a facial.
- 54:41Speaker 5: Oh, my God.
- 54:42Speaker 1: They'd bring out these plastic pink things with like all
- 54:44Speaker 1: the different makeup. Yeah. And then they would test like, ooh.
- 54:47Speaker 1: And they did this whole thing back in that day.
- 54:48Speaker 1: Are you an autumn? Are you a fall? Are you
- 54:51Speaker 1: a warm? But the woman was in your home? She's
- 54:54Speaker 1: in her home.
- 54:55Speaker 5: But weren't your parents like, why is there an adult
- 54:56Speaker 5: woman in your house?
- 54:58Speaker 1: This is the best. My parents were complete latchkey kids.
- 55:02Speaker 1: Gen X kids are complete latchkey kids. And we were
- 55:05Speaker 1: completely latchkey kids. My parents were doing so much real estate.
- 55:07Speaker 1: They were gone all the time. There was no fax machine,
- 55:10Speaker 1: no computer. Everything had to be done in person, every show,
- 55:12Speaker 1: every presentation. So we're home, you know, my mom rolls
- 55:17Speaker 1: up at like eight at night. The girl's been there
- 55:19Speaker 1: since five. And she's like, what is going on? And
- 55:23Speaker 1: then the ladies and, and, And we're like, don't worry, mom.
- 55:27Speaker 1: It was free. We're not buying anything from this woman.
- 55:30Speaker 1: And my mom is like, absolutely not. Like we are
- 55:33Speaker 1: buying a shit ton. This woman just wasted three hours
- 55:35Speaker 1: of her life. So she's, and then she's like, okay.
- 55:39Speaker 1: So my daughter says, she's like, and you know what, anybody,
- 55:42Speaker 1: this is what you can do if you want to
- 55:44Speaker 1: sell it. And my mom's like, look, I'm a realtor.
- 55:46Speaker 1: I'm not going to sell it. I don't think, I
- 55:47Speaker 1: don't think I want my daughter to earn nine to 11. Yeah.
- 55:52Speaker 1: We also don't have an extra room for all the products.
- 55:54Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah.
- 55:54Speaker 1: But we will buy all their cleansers, all their moisturizers,
- 55:58Speaker 1: and like some lip glosses. I mean, we look like
- 56:01Speaker 1: Drew Barrymore in Pretty Baby. Not Drew Barrymore, Brooke Shields.
- 56:04Speaker 1: Like we have full, like she walks in, we have
- 56:07Speaker 1: full faces.
- 56:08Speaker 5: Like a Jean Benet red lipstick.
- 56:10Speaker 3: Like mom, we just, don't be mad.
- 56:14Speaker 1: Like I didn't understand, we didn't understand that we were
- 56:16Speaker 1: wasting this poor girl's time. And that the whole reason
- 56:18Speaker 1: she's giving us a free facial is to like make
- 56:20Speaker 1: a sale. So that's- Wow.
- 56:23Speaker 5: So would I be- So you're saying, it doesn't sound
- 56:25Speaker 5: like it.
- 56:26Speaker 3: No, in the end, in the end, no, I don't
- 56:28Speaker 3: think I'd write the check.
- 56:30Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 56:30Speaker 1: And I think I might hear your speech. I might
- 56:33Speaker 1: go to like one event. One brush. But I'm not
- 56:36Speaker 1: going to, so what the Mary Kay lady said back
- 56:38Speaker 1: when I was 23 is she goes, if you wake
- 56:41Speaker 1: up the next morning and you're still thinking about it,
- 56:43Speaker 1: that's when you know you should do it.
- 56:45Speaker 3: So I woke up the next morning.
- 56:47Speaker 1: And I was still thinking about it.
- 56:49Speaker 3: But I was like- No.
- 56:51Speaker 1: What the fuck am I thinking? No. I'm just thinking
- 56:53Speaker 1: about it because I'm thinking I don't want to do it,
- 56:55Speaker 1: you know?
- 56:56Speaker 3: So my answer is no, I don't think I can.
- 57:00Speaker 4: Okay, good.
- 57:00Speaker 1: I think having like.
- 57:03Speaker 3: I also think.
- 57:05Speaker 1: I don't know who gets susceptible. I think part of
- 57:08Speaker 1: it was that they were a group, these kids and
- 57:10Speaker 1: Sarah Lawrence. They were all in it together. He kind
- 57:12Speaker 1: of captured them all at the same time.
- 57:14Speaker 5: Right.
- 57:14Speaker 1: And they're all misfits and they didn't really have friends
- 57:17Speaker 1: and they really didn't have friends growing up in high school.
- 57:18Speaker 1: They were all like... And they kind of found each other.
- 57:22Speaker 1: And so, but eventually, you know, some of them did
- 57:25Speaker 1: like wake up and just go after that last lashing
- 57:29Speaker 1: or beating or verbal abuse of all night. Then I
- 57:34Speaker 1: had to leave. But yeah.
- 57:35Speaker 5: That's shocking. I got to watch this now. I would
- 57:38Speaker 5: be interested in that.
- 57:38Speaker 1: Now I think that I gave you the thing.
- 57:40Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 57:41Speaker 1: Chrissy Poo, tell them where they can find you.
- 57:43Speaker 5: Frangela.fun has all my dates. So many dates coming up. Frangela.fun
- 57:47Speaker 5: coming to every City in America in 2023.
- 57:51Speaker 3: So just get on it.
- 57:52Speaker 1: Put it on your calendar. Buy a ticket. Make a plan.
- 57:55Speaker 5: Come out.
- 57:55Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 57:56Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 57:57Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Juicy Scoop. I have returning guest,
- 58:00Speaker 1: everyone's favorite captain, Captain Sandy. Welcome back to Juicy Scoop.
- 58:05Speaker 2: Thank you for having me.
- 58:06Speaker 1: So I was watching the show last night. So you're
- 58:12Speaker 1: below deck bed and you guys have done seven seasons, right?
- 58:16Speaker 1: You're starting your eighth. But you had to come in
- 58:19Speaker 1: because Captain Lee had an issue with his leg. So
- 58:22Speaker 1: then you took over this one, which is great. I
- 58:26Speaker 1: thought that was obviously a perfect situation. Yeah.
- 58:30Speaker 3: But were you like home?
- 58:32Speaker 2: Yes, I was home.
- 58:33Speaker 1: And then they were like, hey, so you got a call.
- 58:37Speaker 1: And how did that happen?
- 58:38Speaker 2: So I had the call. It was February 13th. I
- 58:40Speaker 2: had plans with Leah on February 14th.
- 58:43Speaker 1: Who is your partner?
- 58:44Speaker 2: That's right.
- 58:44Speaker 3: You guys are not married.
- 58:45Speaker 1: No. And she's a singer, right?
- 58:47Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 58:48Speaker 2: She's an awesome singer.
- 58:49Speaker 1: But did she do gospel singing first? Yeah.
- 58:52Speaker 2: So she was like the, I guess they call them worship,
- 58:56Speaker 2: the worship at Saddleback. And then when she started singing.
- 58:59Speaker 3: Oh, in Orange County.
- 59:00Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh, okay.
- 59:02Speaker 2: So with Rick Warren. And so when she started seeing me,
- 59:06Speaker 2: no more welcome on the stage. Welcome to the church,
- 59:08Speaker 2: but you can't sing anymore.
- 59:10Speaker 5: Oh, really?
- 59:10Speaker 2: Isn't that crazy?
- 59:12Speaker 1: Kind of, especially.
- 59:13Speaker 2: It's sad.
- 59:14Speaker 1: Love is love. Yeah. And well, especially kind of now
- 59:16Speaker 1: I would have been, and being that it, but I guess,
- 59:20Speaker 1: but I would think, I don't know. I wonder if
- 59:23Speaker 1: it would, if it happened today, maybe it would even
- 59:26Speaker 1: be different than it was. Just four years ago.
- 59:28Speaker 3: Oh, it was just three years ago?
- 59:29Speaker 1: Four. Oh, okay. Well, I don't know. I don't know.
- 59:33Speaker 1: But you know, um, no, because I was watching a
- 59:35Speaker 1: video of her singing. And so you guys, um, you
- 59:38Speaker 1: guys have a podcast. Yeah.
- 59:40Speaker 3: So let's talk about that.
- 59:41Speaker 2: I just started it. And, um, a lot of people
- 59:44Speaker 2: were asking for it. And also I want to give
- 59:46Speaker 2: Leah her, you know, a platform because she lost it
- 59:51Speaker 2: because of me. And the reality is that she has
- 59:53Speaker 2: a story to tell. She left a man, she stayed
- 59:56Speaker 2: in a marriage for money, right? She, that security of money.
- 59:59Speaker 3: Um, It's kind of great that she just couldn't admit that.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: Yeah. I think it's awesome. Yeah. Women do that.
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: So many people don't. I'm always like, just say it.
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: Like I always say, like, listen, there's a lot of
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: women that slept with someone gross to get the part. Yeah.
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: Not everybody.
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: She actually was in love with him.
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: Not that, but I'm saying.
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: Like, even to just admit that like, I'm no longer
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: in love, but the idea of, of really living my truth,
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: but then I wouldn't even know where to begin to leave.
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: You know, that's what I'm talking about more. Like, I'm
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: just saying the honesty of women, like I wish women
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: would be more honest about.
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: So she was with this guy at a very.
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: Young age, like 24. And then they, she was in
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: love in the beginning. And then that changed. She had
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: to end her career. You know, she was singing. She
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: had her own TV show on TBN and you know,
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: she had a life and she was.
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: Offered like the TV Christian network.
- 1:00:53Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: And she was offered, uh, to sing with Celine as
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: in Vegas and to relocate. And he said, no, he
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: wouldn't relocate. And I think that was the moment where
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: she goes Orange County, Colorado. I don't know, but it
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: was like, he wouldn't relocate. So she then adopted a baby. Um,
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: And then she became a full-time mom. And now when
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: she met me.
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: So she left him after that, then adopted a baby
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: on her own? She tried to divorce him like three times.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: But did they adopt the child together?
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: Oh, so then she was like, I'll fulfill my, I'm
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: just going to focus on motherhood.
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: Well, it came to her.
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: She never wanted to have a baby. And then they said,
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: we found a child for you. She's like, I really
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: wasn't looking, but okay. And then biracial. And so she
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: took her on. It's her love of her life.
- 1:01:45Speaker 4: And.
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: She's been a great mom. Her daughter's 16 now. But
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: what I love about Leah, and when we met, I'm like,
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: you need to leave. Like, not because of me. Because,
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: and she said, you said that so selflessly. You have
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: to fulfill your heart. And don't stay because it's financially secure.
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: And she broke out of that mold, left this massive house,
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: and I'll never forget pulling up to this apartment. Like,
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: you know, you move in after college.
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: And She broke down and I go, it's temporary. She
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: left the big house and rented an apartment, got a job,
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: started a business and started working.
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: And how long ago was that?
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: Four years ago. Oh, that's so recent.
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: Yes. And I'm like, you need a platform. Let's do this.
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: You can help so many women who are stuck. She
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: even wrote a song called Stuck. When you're trying to
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: move and your feet won't do what you want them
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: to do. Stuck and just like that. You can't go
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: forward and you can't go back.
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: The story of him not letting her sing was Celine, okay?
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: So when I was a little girl, I was in
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: the age of five, and I couldn't watch as much
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: TV as I wanted because that's what happens when you
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: have five kids. You're not really, like, watching. And I
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: was watching, and I'd watch, like, these made-for-TV movies. And, like,
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: I was, like, eight. And there was this one with
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: Priscilla Presley. Not Priscilla Presley. Priscilla... Anyway, she was, like,
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: on Dallas. I just remember she was this beautiful girl.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: And she was with this rich guy who... And every
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: day she was like in this condo and he'd come
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: to visit her or whatever. And I think she was
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: a mistress, but, and I'm watching this as a little girl.
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: And I'm like, I think I'd like to be this
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: mistress lady. Like who cares? This is so great. And
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: she comes running into see him one time and she goes,
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: you know, like earlier, she's like, I have an audition
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: for a cell property. He's like, hope you get it, honey.
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: He's all nice and showering with her with gifts. And
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: then she, the next day she comes and she goes,
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: I got the part, you know, and, And I start
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: filming next week and he goes, next week we're going
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: to New York. That's my only time with you. You
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: can't do the soap acting. And I remember seeing as
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: a little girl, like, well, then I don't want to
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: be that. Like I would not like, I'm like, how
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: can this asshole not let her be on.
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: The soap opera?
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: Because me, it's someone watching this. I'm like, oh, I
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: want to be this LA actress, but how great if
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: you could do it and have this guy, like just
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: let you go shopping and support you. And it's very
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: rare that, That you can have both.
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: At eight years old, you had that insight.
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: I saw it. I can see her in the red
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: bathing suit telling him that she got the part and
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: me being like, well, I never want to be beholden
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: to some guy that's going to not let me miss
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: out on like a huge, because even as like an eight-year-old,
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: I like knew because I grew up here, how hard
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: it is to like book anything. I was like, oh
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: my God.
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: And then later in the story, he dies.
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: And then she's left with nothing because she was the mistress.
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: And so then I was like, oh, that's another thing. Like,
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: if you're going to be the mistress, you've got to
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: carve out some money for yourself. But it's true. Like,
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: that's where she was probably like, my God, I'm with
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: this person that I'm not. I'm thinking what she's thinking. Like,
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: I'm not in it for the love, but at least
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: I get to sing in it.
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: And here comes the opportunity of a lifetime.
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: And it's like, no. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: I want her to have this platform.
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: Because there are so many women who go, no. They're
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: told no. It's like, but he's not your daddy.
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: Like, you have a choice.
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: And I love that Leah. And then if you miss
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: that opportunity, then, you know, it's like, and you don't
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: get out. But you're going to say you love that Leah.
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: Like, she broke out. Like, she took the risk. And
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: she had to go to work. And a lot of
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: people don't know what they're going to do. Like, what
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: are you going to do? It's like, well, you start
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: with a job, right?
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: And it's very scary when you've had a... you know,
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: a marriage of arrangement or privilege or whatever, you know,
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: where you're like, you are capable, but it's been so
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: many years since you've done something that you're just like,
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: I don't, what am I going to do? I don't
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: even know where to begin, you know? And I think that's,
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: what's really hard, but.
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: And when you start, it gets less scary. So the
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: first week is, Oh, my God. You're almost petrified.
- 1:05:56Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: Then the second week, you're scared.
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: Then the third week, you're getting a little more comfortable.
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: But in a month, you're like looking back going, man,
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: I should have done this 15 years ago.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:06:05Speaker 5: You know?
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: Wow. That's great.
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: And that's the cool thing. So that's why we do
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: the podcast.
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: I love that.
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: Yeah. So we were going to do this whole like getaway.
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: And then they asked and they really needed the support
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: because as you know, when you– For the TV show
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: and for the real life, you can't just call captains
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: and go take over the boat. It's insurances that are involved,
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: background checks. It's a lot. It's a big deal.
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: And then also the TV aspect.
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: That's correct. And the show must go on. So Leah
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: looked at me and she's like, do it. And I'm like, okay. And,
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: you know, you want to be there for each other.
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: My parents died. My mom, I was at a Barcelona
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: boat show and there was a captain that was running
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: a similar boat to me. And I called the insurance company.
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: I had to fly home and he got approved to
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: move the boat for me. It's a big deal when
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: someone steps in to take over on that aspect, then
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: the personal aspect. And then you want to be there
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: for someone.
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: And have their back because paying it forward because someone
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: did it for me. Right.
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:07:08Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: Yeah. So it was a bittersweet. The cool thing was
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: a boat I never ran before. The biggest boat I
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: ever drove. I was a little intimidated. It was a thousand,
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: almost a thousand tons. Like that's a big mama, man.
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: That's like big. And then I got to do the
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: Caribbean again, which was really cool.
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: And okay. So I was watching it and, you know,
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: obviously what makes it so interesting to watch is that,
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: you know, your approach and everything is so different than
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: the guys, which I've said before in a much more
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: encouraging way, you know, like really encouraging people's not only careers,
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: but like their growth. And I mean, that just comes,
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: it's just interesting to watch because these were the couple
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: of things I noticed yesterday was when they were coming
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: back from the beach, one of the beach things, you
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: were there to like help with the coolers.
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: I personally have never seen with the male captains, them
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: doing that.
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: Well, first and foremost, you're putting people out there to,
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: you expect them to do a good job. I have
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: to demonstrate what kind of good job I want them
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: to do. So I'm the model of the good job.
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: If I'm not out there to greet them and help
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: them to carry the coolers off, how will they respect
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: me as a person? You know, they have to respect
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: the position, but I need to earn their respect as
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: a person and having their back. I also need to
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: show them this is how we show up for each other.
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: And the other part is I can't sit on my
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: butt and see how hard they're working and do nothing.
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: Like it doesn't live inside me. I grew up in
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: a household of workers.
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: Like we had 42 dogs. My dad was a hunter.
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: We had horses. Like we had to feed the animals
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: every morning. So the work ethic is in me.
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: Yeah. I always thought that massage. blowing up the slide,
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: I always thought the worst thing was these beach lunches.
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: They're hard. They're so hard.
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: But then, so we went.
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: On a boat. My husband became a captain last year.
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: So we have a catamaran and we went on our
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: own catamaran in the BVIs over Christmas. With just my husband, myself,
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: and our 20-year-old and 17-year-old son. It wasn't as great
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: as I thought it was going to be.
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: Because you didn't have a captain.
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: We didn't have a captain.
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: We didn't have a chef. You didn't have a chef.
- 1:09:33Speaker 3: We didn't, the boys, the boys were only taught by him.
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: Like, and so then, you know, and he's like, you know,
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: we had never been there before. So we didn't know it.
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: It was like, we had only used the boat in
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: Newport where we had a very easy docking situation and
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: we would go back and forth because we had a
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: similar boat there. So, um, But I will say, once
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: you've been on the boat for a while, you do
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: really want to get off. That's right. For even a
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: little bit. So I can see why they ask for it.
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: But originally, I thought they were all assholes forever asking
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: for a beach thing in the beginning of me watching
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: the show.
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: But now I get it.
- 1:10:08Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: It's cool because you anchor off a coast. You want
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: to see the coast, right?
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: So the destination is the vessel. I always say that.
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: The destination is the boat.
- 1:10:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: However- just because that's the destination doesn't mean you don't
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: want to see other places. So I like it when
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: they want to go ashore. It gives the crew a
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: break on the vessel, but when they're doing the beach picnics,
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: it's so hard.
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: Now, granted, we're watching it for the show, but when
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: you've done this for other people, like, okay, like if
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: this was just a fancy trip, people still paid the
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: whatever enormous amount of money. Could you ever be.
- 1:10:44Speaker 3: Like, hey, I know you guys want to go to
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: the beach.
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: What we're thinking of is, let's do lunch and then
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: we're going to take you to the beach and we're
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: going to have cocktails and we're going to set up
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: some things, but not to the lunch on the beach.
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: Or would you not do that because they paid so much?
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: Would you ever suggest that knowing that they most likely
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: would say yes and you guys would save yourselves a
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: lot of extra headache?
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: To be honest, like we do in the world of yachting,
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: this happens all the time and it's set up like
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: a five-star restaurant. We don't have the luxury of time
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: to do that. So remember, we board the boat. We
- 1:11:25Speaker 2: learn the boat. We take off. We're hoping the stuff's
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: on board. They do their best. It is expected in yachting,
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: and it's a regular occurrence. It's like when you go
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: to a beach, a resort, and they build these tents,
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: and it's lavish. Same thing on yachting. They're used to
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: doing that.
- 1:11:46Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: But the boats are set up for that. So when
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: we take over a boat, they're not always set up
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: for that. And also these crew are getting to know
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: each other, the personalities. When you're working together for year
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: after year after year.
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: It's easier.
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: It's more of a flow. When you go back to
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: the Caribbean, you'll know where to go, where to anchor.
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: It'll get easier. I always suggest, always hire someone in
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: the beginning to show you and then take it on
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: your own.
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: Yes. That's what we should do.
- 1:12:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: Yeah, everyone said it was the funnest trip that they've
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: ever gone on, but nobody went with just their own family.
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: And there were some Captain Lee moments with my husband.
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: We're like, God damn it, you idiot!
- 1:12:25Speaker 3: There was a little of that.
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: Okay, so in the last couple episodes, we have... Let
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: me get to Rachel, who is... I have always been like, wow,
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: she seems like the greatest chef.
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: And this.
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: she was like running late or there was going too slow.
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: And now they asked for an eight course meal. They,
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: they asked for an eight course meal.
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: I don't, I think they wanted a tasting menu. Rachel
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: is an excellent chef.
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: Yes. Right.
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: So she, she's so good. Her food is excellent. And
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: her challenges her.
- 1:13:03Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: So then at the end of it, the guy is like, Hey,
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: I'm going to tell you some things that like we
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: didn't love. You guys were short, uh, A person, because
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: this pretty blonde girl, Camille, she had to go. Too
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: bad for her. She's very pretty. She liked to drink
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: on the job and stuff.
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: She cracked me up, though. I'm watching that show. I'm
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: laughing so hard. I mean, as a captain, it's, listen,
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: you got to get it together. But as a viewer,
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: I was, she's great entertainment.
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: And then, like, oh, then she'd been dating a guy
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: for two weeks, so he was crying about it.
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: And then she was, like, being real, well.
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: Bye.
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: I guess you guys don't, don't appreciate it.
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: It's like, okay. So she goes and, um, and then
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: we have our first male stew on the show, Frazier.
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: And I think that's a fun dynamic to have a male, uh,
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: what do you call it? Chief stew and a female chef,
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: because it seems like the majority of the seasons we've
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: seen that dynamic between the male chef and, you know, the,
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: the head stew.
- 1:14:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: Being a girl. Yeah.
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: That's really insightful. I don't think anyone's ever picked up
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: on that.
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: Oh. That's really cool.
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: Actually, I haven't even picked up on that. Until now,
- 1:14:16Speaker 2: that's really cool. I never thought of it like that
- 1:14:19Speaker 2: because you usually have the chef yelling at the chief stew,
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: which is a woman, and now it's the opposite. And
- 1:14:24Speaker 2: they really respect each other and get along better than
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: a lot of the other ones, you know?
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: And then this girl, Alyssa... Now, Alyssa had a breakdown
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: where she just cried and she's like, I'm done. Now,
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: have you found, this is another generation you're dealing with.
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: This is Generation Z. Do you feel like there's a
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: little bit like, I need a mental health day and
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: things like that more often than like 12 years ago
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: where people, you know?
- 1:14:51Speaker 2: Oh my goodness. It's so interesting. And you know what
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: I find fascinating? How the corporate world adjusts to the
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: mentality of the people and how they're raised, right?
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: In order to get product or, you know, sell your product,
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: you have to adjust your strategy to work with their
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: mental state. Isn't that crazy how many dollars are spent
- 1:15:16Speaker 2: on that? It drives me mad. I mean, I'm thinking
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: just put your big girl pants on.
- 1:15:21Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: Nice and tight. You know, pick yourself up and brush
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: yourself off and go out there. Because not everybody's going
- 1:15:28Speaker 2: to coddle you. Not everybody's going to go, oh my God,
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: they hurt your feelings. It became about feelings. And I've
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: had to learn to check by my tongue and not
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: say what I'm thinking, but to say what I need
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: to say in order to get productivity out of people.
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: And it's... it's a learning curve.
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: And, and when these people, when the guy left with
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: the pregnant wife and he was like, yeah, we had
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: a great time, but like there was this and that,
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: you know, a couple of things that weren't done, but
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: here's like your big, you know, and you guys, that
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: was a good tip. But like, do you ever feel
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: when you do get something like that? Like this isn't
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: going to be that great.
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: I don't know why a gratuity is gratuity. It's based
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: on your performance.
- 1:16:10Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: So basically I think in our world of yachting, crew
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: have an expectation, which they should not have.
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: You know how many private boats out there do not
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: tip their crew? You know how many times they give
- 1:16:24Speaker 2: them to their friends? They don't get tipped. They get paid.
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: The tip is a gratuity. It's not expected.
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: What do you mean? You mean they lend their boat out.
- 1:16:33Speaker 3: To their friends?
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: Yeah, they say, here, take my boat, take my crew.
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: And then those people don't tip. The owner's paying us. Oh,
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: but then those.
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: People don't tip.
- 1:16:39Speaker 3: No, they don't tip.
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: Okay, I have a good question for you. Okay.
- 1:16:44Speaker 2: Um.
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: I've been secreting, manifesting, going on a mega yacht situation.
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: And I have met someone. I mean, I'm with my husband,
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: but I mean, we met like another couple that are nice.
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: Good clarification.
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: And they kind of like threw it out there. And
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: I'm like, I said it to my husband. I'm like,
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: do you think maybe we could do this? And they
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: are like, we'll be on the boat outside of this
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: place for like a like a month and a half,
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: you know, come, you could come and stay with us,
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: you know? So my question is what's the class, like
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: what's the classy protocol?
- 1:17:25Speaker 3: Cause my first thought is, I think we should go.
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: I think we should like definitely get a hotel part
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: of the time, either a little before go spend like
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: three nights with them and then come back and be
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: on our hotel. Just so a, we have that balance. Also,
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: we're not complete freeloaders. And so it's, So let's say
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: that's the scenario. So we're on their mega yacht for
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: three days, hanging out, whatever, jumping off the thing, doing whatever. Now,
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: as like the non-primary just guest of someone, what is
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: the protocol of treating the staff and not so you
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: get invited back? Okay.
- 1:18:02Speaker 2: So first and foremost, you've been invited.
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:18:04Speaker 2: Most charters are paid by one person and they invite people.
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: You're not expected to pay the crew. You're not expected
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: to tip the crew.
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: That's on the primary. Always on the primary. When you're invited,
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: they really mean that. So I agree with you. I'd
- 1:18:18Speaker 2: have a hotel just in case because sometimes personalities don't mix.
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: You need a break. I think it's a great, I
- 1:18:25Speaker 2: would say, yeah, we're here these days. What days work
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: for you?
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:18:29Speaker 2: That we come on board.
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: That's what I would do. And, you know, they're they
- 1:18:33Speaker 2: invited you. So they meant it.
- 1:18:35Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: How much alcohol was involved is my first question. Friends
- 1:18:38Speaker 2: of mine go, hey, I'm going to do this, this.
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: And the next day they're like, no, I'm not doing that.
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: Like I just said, like I just wrote and I go,
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: we're seriously thinking about me. looking to go at April,
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: you know? And like, so I'm, you know, after it
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: was thrown out there, I'm giving several outs, you know,
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: before we get to like really looking at flights. But
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: I mean, I'm just like, when will I have this opportunity?
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: And I just want to, after my BVI experience. I
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: would like to just.
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: Yes. And you will have a great experience. And people
- 1:19:10Speaker 2: just don't offer that up. They mean it, you know,
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: especially at that level. They're not, you know, they could
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: have anyone on board.
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: It's nice.
- 1:19:18Speaker 2: You had that offer. I would take them up on it,
- 1:19:20Speaker 2: but I like your strategy. I think it's great.
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:19:22Speaker 2: And just ask them what days work for them.
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: Like, I always remember my dad had a saying, like,
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: if he'd be talking about like some couple or something,
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: he'd be like, Well, I wouldn't want to be on
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: a houseboat with them for a week. So I always
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: think of that about being on a boat with someone
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: and also like guests are like fish. They smell after
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: three days. So I always feel like three nights is
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: a good measure, you know, where people don't feel totally
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: put out, you know.
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: Because I have another story for you where someone was
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: invited on a boat and they all stayed. They all
- 1:19:58Speaker 2: left together. There was a primary. Their friends left, so
- 1:20:02Speaker 2: I know both sets of people.
- 1:20:03Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:20:05Speaker 2: They left, but the friends that were invited went back
- 1:20:07Speaker 2: to the boat and stayed on the boat. For how long?
- 1:20:11Speaker 2: And he didn't know it.
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: For how long?
- 1:20:13Speaker 2: For like a week. With the staff catering to them?
- 1:20:17Speaker 2: And they didn't know it. And that is not cool.
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: That's what Anna Delvey did in the Netflix special. You
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: know who Anna Delvey is? She's the criminal with the
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: accent that, like, I.
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: Wonder where they got that idea.
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: Maybe they got that idea from watching that.
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: Maybe because, I mean, I think, I don't know how
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: much of the thing was true because it was like
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: a scripted story about it, but that was part of
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: it that she met this young, this lady and then
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: like came back on. And then the woman is like.
- 1:20:48Speaker 3: Get off my, like called and was like, what the
- 1:20:50Speaker 3: hell are you doing? Get off the boat. Like, she's like, Oh,
- 1:20:52Speaker 3: it's just sitting here out in the ocean. Why can't
- 1:20:54Speaker 3: we have some fun?
- 1:20:55Speaker 2: Like, what's your problem?
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: Yeah. Like, yeah.
- 1:20:59Speaker 2: They were friends though. It's like, they were like long-term friends.
- 1:21:03Speaker 3: So they, so the primaries didn't care.
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: Or do you think they did? Oh, they did.
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: Yeah, because they didn't ask, but they took advantage. Because,
- 1:21:10Speaker 2: you know, when you've been offered and offered and offered,
- 1:21:13Speaker 2: a lot of people, it becomes their home.
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: Right. You know?
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: So a lot of crew do that on a boat.
- 1:21:18Speaker 2: It's where they, it becomes their boat. And I'm like, no,
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: this isn't your boat.
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: Right. You know? Yeah. So. And, yeah, like there was a,
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: I don't know what season it was, but there was
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: one where, you know, the crew had become a couple.
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: They were romantic to the people. Yeah. And it was
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: a night that they didn't have any people there, you know.
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: And the couple did go in the main cabin and, like,
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: slept together. I mean, currently they're going to clean the sheets.
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: I guess that's okay. No, no, no.
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: It's not okay.
- 1:21:49Speaker 5: Okay. No, no.
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: You know what?
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: I have to tell you this story. One time I
- 1:21:54Speaker 2: worked for a founder of a bank. We had just
- 1:21:56Speaker 2: finished a charter show. My crew worked their butts off.
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:22:00Speaker 2: And the chef goes, hey, can I get a massage
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: on board? And I'm, yeah, sure.
- 1:22:02Speaker 5: Sure.
- 1:22:03Speaker 2: There was a broker that came on the boat and
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: they were showing it for sale. He opens the cabin
- 1:22:08Speaker 2: and my chef's getting a massage.
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: Guess what?
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: He emails the owner. The owner writes me the email,
- 1:22:16Speaker 2: forwards it to me, call me to discuss. I was like,
- 1:22:20Speaker 2: oh my God, I called him up and he was like,
- 1:22:24Speaker 2: never let that happen again. Never. And I go, I apologize.
- 1:22:28Speaker 2: I wasn't aware of it. I did approve the massage
- 1:22:30Speaker 2: on board. I figured it would be in the main salon.
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: And he goes, I figured you didn't know about it, Sandy.
- 1:22:36Speaker 2: Never let it happen again.
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: Clunk.
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: And I was like, okay. You know, because it's not allowed.
- 1:22:42Speaker 3: It's their space.
- 1:22:43Speaker 2: It's like walking into someone's, you know, suite.
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: Have you ever, TV or not, kicked off, been like,
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: you just cannot be here anymore with the guests or
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: didn't but really, really wanted to and why?
- 1:23:00Speaker 2: One time I was in the The crew. No, I
- 1:23:04Speaker 2: was in the med running a boat and the client
- 1:23:07Speaker 2: was really obnoxious sexually to my crew. And I called
- 1:23:12Speaker 2: his broker actually two times. And I say, get your
- 1:23:15Speaker 2: client under control. Keep his hands off my crew or
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: I'm kicking his broker.
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: So meaning he he wanted to have this vacation. So
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: he went through a broker who then like books that
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: like a hotel. OK, so they're the filter for us. Right.
- 1:23:29Speaker 2: So we don't we still want to show them a
- 1:23:30Speaker 2: good time. But the broker needs to reprimand them, not us.
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: Okay, got it.
- 1:23:34Speaker 6: Right?
- 1:23:34Speaker 2: Because then he's going to be pissed off at us.
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:23:36Speaker 2: And then we're going to ruin their vacation. So there's
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: always that smoke and mirrors.
- 1:23:40Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: She did, and he only left us 750 euros. It
- 1:23:44Speaker 2: was a terrible tip.
- 1:23:46Speaker 5: Oh, my God.
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: And the crew worked so hard. Another guy, a Russian client,
- 1:23:51Speaker 2: didn't really speak English, but you could hear him sue.
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: Right?
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: So he was yelling at Porta Cervo people because we
- 1:23:59Speaker 2: weren't getting docked fast enough. So I called his broker
- 1:24:03Speaker 2: and said, your broker is going to get us, I mean,
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: your client's going to get us blacklisted from PortaTurbo. He's yelling,
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: I'm going to sue you in his broken English.
- 1:24:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:24:13Speaker 2: But they can understand that. And she called him and
- 1:24:17Speaker 2: she turned it around.
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:24:19Speaker 2: But two times, I never kicked anyone off. That's the
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: last thing you want to do. You want to find
- 1:24:24Speaker 2: a way to end your charter on a good note.
- 1:24:28Speaker 2: Every one of those charters. I had another charter. It
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: was a million euro charter. Her guests were awful to
- 1:24:34Speaker 2: the crew. So I went to her and I said, listen,
- 1:24:38Speaker 2: this is a lawyer. She actually wanted to get into yachting.
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: Like they're not stupid people. They're educated.
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: I can't remember. Was this on the show? No.
- 1:24:46Speaker 2: Okay, continue.
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:24:48Speaker 2: And they're here to please you. And when you're there
- 1:24:51Speaker 2: constantly getting beat down, their smiles are going to be
- 1:24:54Speaker 2: harder to put on. Their spirits are crushed. You want them,
- 1:24:58Speaker 2: you know, a little graciousness would work. So it turned
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: around like that. You know, then they were like– because
- 1:25:05Speaker 2: the crew were actually calling them Mama Bear, Baby Bear,
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: and Papa Bear. And I'm like, they can hear you.
- 1:25:10Speaker 2: Stop with the Mama Bear, Papa Bear. And so at
- 1:25:12Speaker 2: the end– The crew was saying about them?
- 1:25:14Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: Oh, okay. That's funny. Yeah.
- 1:25:16Speaker 2: Because it was like– And when they walked off, they
- 1:25:19Speaker 2: gave us 100,000 euros and they said, baby bears apologizes.
- 1:25:24Speaker 2: Like they heard the crew.
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: Oh, really?
- 1:25:26Speaker 2: And since that moment, I said, never again. Are you
- 1:25:29Speaker 2: allowed to talk about the guests? Do it in the
- 1:25:31Speaker 2: crew mess.
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:25:33Speaker 3: What do you think.
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: About, you know, because we all love to see when
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: the crew get horny with each other. And I am
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: like sometimes just like very shocked, you know, and they
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: do this on a lot of shows, whether it's Summer
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: House or whatever, where it's like. You're like seeing them
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: like bone.
- 1:25:50Speaker 2: I know. I'm just like, don't let your kids watch
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: the show. I'm like eight years old.
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: I'm like, cover their eyes.
- 1:25:56Speaker 2: I'm like, okay.
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: I mean, I can see why people want to do
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: it because the job itself is great. But now you're
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: on TV. And not only are you on TV, but
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: you're working really hard on the real show. But then
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: like you're revealing like.
- 1:26:12Speaker 7: I was just watching the Pamela Anderson doc, you know,
- 1:26:16Speaker 7: and how devastated she was when the video got stolen and,
- 1:26:20Speaker 7: you know, about she and Tommy and their intimate moments.
- 1:26:22Speaker 7: And I'm like, God, cut to 20 years later, and
- 1:26:25Speaker 7: these kids are doing it for a reality show, basically.
- 1:26:28Speaker 3: Like, it is, to me, kind of shocking. Yeah.
- 1:26:32Speaker 2: They forget. They forget the fourth wall. They forget that
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: camera's on. They're drinking. They are not thinking. Like, that
- 1:26:39Speaker 2: reasoning's out the window. They wake up the next day
- 1:26:42Speaker 2: and go, oh.
- 1:26:43Speaker 3: When you guys go, and I know it's part of
- 1:26:45Speaker 3: the show, too.
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: Like, you guys did so great. You're going to get
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: to go out and have this fun day. And, I mean,
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: isn't it hard, though? Like, sometimes I'm like, God, the
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: next charter's only 30 hours away. Can they really party together?
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: Be hungover and, like, whip it together in such a
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: short time. Because I just don't think anything sounds worse
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: than being really hungover on a boat.
- 1:27:07Speaker 5: They do.
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: They do what? Whip it together or want to kill themselves?
- 1:27:10Speaker 2: No, they whip it together. Because that's, they're young.
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: I guess you're right, yeah. They do.
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: Like, it's so interesting how they do it. But we
- 1:27:17Speaker 2: drink Baraka a lot of it.
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: What's Baraka?
- 1:27:20Speaker 2: It's like your version of Emergency.
- 1:27:24Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: Oh.
- 1:27:25Speaker 2: And we live on Red Bull.
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: Yeah, they live on Red Bull. And, of course, you've
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: been sober really a long, like the majority of your
- 1:27:34Speaker 1: life now, right? How long has it been? 33 years.
- 1:27:37Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: And have there ever been a time in those 33
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: years that you've been tempted and triggered?
- 1:27:45Speaker 2: Tempted, no. But wishing I could just, you know, drink
- 1:27:50Speaker 2: and forget.
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:27:51Speaker 2: Because sometimes you just want to relax. And my concern
- 1:27:55Speaker 2: is if I do, because I can. I might just
- 1:27:59Speaker 2: take that boat and drive it wherever I want it.
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: Yeah. Is there ever been a situation where you would
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: have made a different decision had the cameras not been there?
- 1:28:12Speaker 5: No.
- 1:28:13Speaker 2: Okay, so I am a captain. I think like a captain.
- 1:28:17Speaker 2: I have been doing this for a long time. What
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: I do do is slow down and pause because we
- 1:28:24Speaker 2: are making a TV show.
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: I am....
- 1:28:30Speaker 2: I make a decision, I execute. The difference here is
- 1:28:33Speaker 2: I make a decision, I discuss with production, and then
- 1:28:37Speaker 2: we figure out the avenue of how to get replacements, right?
- 1:28:42Speaker 2: So it isn't like you can just, like even in
- 1:28:45Speaker 2: real yachting, we do background checks. Like you have to
- 1:28:48Speaker 2: go through this whole thing to get people on board.
- 1:28:53Speaker 2: When it's a decision that affects my license, I call
- 1:28:55Speaker 2: my maritime attorney. They say fire them, I fire them.
- 1:29:00Speaker 2: When I'm in those moments where, because I'm filming a show, right?
- 1:29:05Speaker 2: I want it to be successful. And should I fire?
- 1:29:10Speaker 2: Is there any way I can get around this? And
- 1:29:11Speaker 2: if my maritime attorney says no, you need to fire them.
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: I do that. Right.
- 1:29:16Speaker 2: And I follow their suggestions, which they charge me.
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: And so did that happen in the show with Hannah?
- 1:29:22Speaker 5: Of course.
- 1:29:23Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:29:24Speaker 2: Yeah. There's been a couple times where I've called my
- 1:29:26Speaker 2: maritime attorney and said, I don't know what to do here. Yeah,
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: that's great that you have that. Yeah, because I worked hard.
- 1:29:33Speaker 2: I have a federal license.
- 1:29:34Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:29:35Speaker 2: Well, the United States, I'm a federal person that has
- 1:29:39Speaker 2: a federal license that could go to prison. Right. You know, like,
- 1:29:43Speaker 2: you don't break the law for anybody. And if, you know,
- 1:29:48Speaker 2: there's a boat called Monkey Business when President Bush was president.
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: Oh, Monkey Business, that was the famous, who was the... Yeah,
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: who was the girl that was sitting on the politician's
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: lap on monkey business? Yes. And then his whole career
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: went down the tubes. Right.
- 1:30:03Speaker 3: Who was that guy?
- 1:30:04Speaker 2: Because they seized his boat. But who was that politician?
- 1:30:07Speaker 2: I know.
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:30:08Speaker 2: Gary Hart, Donna Rice?
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: Donna Rice and Gary Hart. Gary Hart was a politician who, like,
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: was set to probably win the presidency. And then he
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: was on monkey business with someone other than his wife,
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: which was Donna Rice.
- 1:30:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: Okay, so continue.
- 1:30:19Speaker 2: So there was pot found on the boat, and they
- 1:30:22Speaker 2: seized the boat. Oh, okay. I'm sure maybe. I don't know, like,
- 1:30:26Speaker 2: the backstory of all of that.
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: Right, yeah, yeah.
- 1:30:27Speaker 2: So you hear these examples all the time. And in
- 1:30:30Speaker 2: my industry, they do random drug testing. Do you know
- 1:30:33Speaker 2: when you go into a different country, they don't always
- 1:30:35Speaker 2: like you there, right? So you're obviously doing business with them,
- 1:30:41Speaker 2: but you're flying different flags. You have to fit into
- 1:30:46Speaker 2: their country. Is it their job to make you feel comfortable?
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: Right. Well, thanks so much.
- 1:30:52Speaker 3: This has been really fun.
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: And how many more episodes do you have left of this?
- 1:30:57Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: Oh, okay. Do you know? Yeah, until like March.
- 1:31:02Speaker 3: Oh, so we have a lot left.
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay, we have a lot left. And then, of course,
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: your other season then comes after that. And, yeah, I
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: hope one day maybe I will be on one.
- 1:31:14Speaker 5: Of your boats.
- 1:31:14Speaker 2: Hey, that would be awesome. Yeah. Well, go on the
- 1:31:17Speaker 2: other one you were invited.
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: Yeah, we're going to work that out. Yeah.
- 1:31:21Speaker 5: Great.
- 1:31:21Speaker 2: Thanks for having me.
