- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an Unspoiled Network podcast. This is spoil Me,
- 0:08Speaker 1: covering one piece episodes seven nine through seven thirty two.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Four episodes this time Flame Dragon King, Protect Lufy's Life,
- 0:21Speaker 1: Tears of Miracles, Menchuri's Flight, as long as we Breathe,
- 0:26Speaker 1: stop the Deadly Bird Cage, and Dead or Alive of
- 0:30Speaker 1: Fateful Countdown. In these episodes, we have got everybody banding
- 0:38Speaker 1: together fucking finally, and we have got Lufy needing ten
- 0:45Speaker 1: minutes to recover ten minutes, that's all it takes. But
- 0:50Speaker 1: it does take four episodes though. Welcome to spoil Me,
- 1:14Speaker 1: Welcome to the show everyone. I am Natasha. Thank you
- 1:18Speaker 1: very much to Michael for commissioning this episode. Yeah, so,
- 1:24Speaker 1: Florian messaged me on Discord and said it was up
- 1:29Speaker 1: to me whether or not I only wanted to watch
- 1:31Speaker 1: three this time or whether I wanted to do four,
- 1:34Speaker 1: And I decided to go with four because this is
- 1:37Speaker 1: a law of filler in these episodes, and I think
- 1:40Speaker 1: that it like ending the episode with the arc of
- 1:45Speaker 1: like it starts with Loofy asking for ten minutes and
- 1:50Speaker 1: then by the end of the fourth episode he has
- 1:53Speaker 1: finally awakened again. That works for me. I think that's fine.
- 1:58Speaker 1: So and when I say this is a lot of filler,
- 2:02Speaker 1: I didn't hate this. Actually I sort of liked There's
- 2:07Speaker 1: there's a moment where Zoro just starts fighting against the
- 2:12Speaker 1: bird cage and everybody's like, you can't stop it, and
- 2:15Speaker 1: he says, how do you know? And honestly, I fucking
- 2:21Speaker 1: just love that moment so much. Like Zoro is that
- 2:28Speaker 1: guy I feel like who just sort of never decides
- 2:32Speaker 1: to like assume the worst necessarily, He's always gonna try
- 2:37Speaker 1: and do something about whatever. Oh Saraphim is in the
- 2:44Speaker 1: chat saying it's way better than the infamous dragon Ball
- 2:47Speaker 1: five minutes that took five in real life hours of
- 2:50Speaker 1: time to elapse. Oh boy, you know, there have been
- 2:56Speaker 1: some people that have like jokingly talked about commissioning Dragon Ball,
- 2:59Speaker 1: and I just really think that's not a great idea,
- 3:03Speaker 1: just saying anyway, so the idea of us like fighting
- 3:12Speaker 1: back against the birdcage moving, I actually really really like
- 3:19Speaker 1: this idea. The only thing that I have trouble with
- 3:25Speaker 1: is that it seems to me it has cut through
- 3:28Speaker 1: every material except sea prism stone, and everybody is holding
- 3:34Speaker 1: it back with items that are not made of sea
- 3:37Speaker 1: prism stone, and I just don't see why it wouldn't
- 3:41Speaker 1: cut through those things. This is something that was surprising
- 3:46Speaker 1: because we have that revelation about the sea prism stone
- 3:51Speaker 1: building that is not being destroyed, and I thought what
- 3:55Speaker 1: we were leaning towards was like, oh, we're going to
- 3:58Speaker 1: start using this material to do something to fight back
- 4:03Speaker 1: against the bird cage by like breaking it up, taking
- 4:07Speaker 1: parts of the walls down, and distributing the pieces of
- 4:11Speaker 1: the building around the island. And then it doesn't matter.
- 4:17Speaker 1: It just is that we're pushing with whatever we've got
- 4:22Speaker 1: to hand, and that is enough. And I've got to say,
- 4:28Speaker 1: I think that is kind of weak sauce. I just
- 4:33Speaker 1: don't buy. Like, let's see, Seraphim says, the things being
- 4:39Speaker 1: used are either made of sea prism stone like the
- 4:41Speaker 1: factory Bart's barrier, which is unbreakable, or from people who
- 4:45Speaker 1: are using really advanced armament hockey on whatever they are using. Okay,
- 4:51Speaker 1: you're right, Seraphim. I forgot about the hockey thing because
- 4:53Speaker 1: I was like, some of them are not doing that,
- 4:56Speaker 1: but the hockey, because that's at a point the Marines
- 4:59Speaker 1: get brought in. And that was a surprising thing to
- 5:01Speaker 1: me because somebody says, anybody who can use hockey go
- 5:05Speaker 1: that way, and I was like surprised at how many
- 5:08Speaker 1: there were. I didn't expect so many dudes to know
- 5:10Speaker 1: how to use it. So thank you, Sarah m Yes,
- 5:14Speaker 1: that's that gives me some explanation here. I appreciate that.
- 5:19Speaker 1: But yeah, like just the fact that Zoro straight up goes,
- 5:22Speaker 1: how doing you know? I lived for that there was.
- 5:27Speaker 1: What this does is it brings everybody sort of together
- 5:31Speaker 1: and says we are going to fight back as best
- 5:36Speaker 1: we can with whatever we've got. And because so much
- 5:41Speaker 1: of the last trio of episodes was like there was
- 5:47Speaker 1: just the townsfolk haven't been great. You know. This is
- 5:52Speaker 1: the thing that I keep feeling like sad about is
- 5:57Speaker 1: I'm not trying to say that we shouldn't be trying
- 6:01Speaker 1: to save the people of dress Rosa, but I am
- 6:05Speaker 1: saying that here as well as Fishman Islands Arc, as
- 6:13Speaker 1: well as like, this is something that happens whenever you've
- 6:16Speaker 1: got a large population that the straw Hats are fighting for,
- 6:22Speaker 1: we always have to go back and forth with all
- 6:25Speaker 1: of the civilians because we need the drama of them
- 6:30Speaker 1: all being terrible people. Turning their back, refusing to help,
- 6:34Speaker 1: turning on one another sometimes like whatever, And then we'll
- 6:38Speaker 1: have the next couple of episodes be them finally starting
- 6:42Speaker 1: to come to their senses and realizing we need to
- 6:44Speaker 1: band together. And it's always like this this thing that
- 6:49Speaker 1: I understand in terms of how it's supposed to be
- 6:54Speaker 1: a sort of inspiring, like, oh, we have this moment
- 6:59Speaker 1: of togetherness, We've found a way, but it doesn't feel
- 7:05Speaker 1: like that to me when it's happening. It feels to
- 7:07Speaker 1: me like everybody is acting so poorly that they don't
- 7:11Speaker 1: deserve to be saved sometimes, and I don't really believe that,
- 7:16Speaker 1: but it's difficult when the way that people finally come
- 7:20Speaker 1: together feels so situationally dependent that it's like people who
- 7:26Speaker 1: finally become empathetic after a thing happens to them. It's like,
- 7:31Speaker 1: doesn't really feel like real empathy if it, you know.
- 7:35Speaker 1: So what I feel with the townspeople is just everybody
- 7:39Speaker 1: needs a fucking inspirational speech in order to get them
- 7:44Speaker 1: to do anything, and I am just not with it.
- 7:50Speaker 1: I am like, after watching Loofy and the straw Hats
- 7:56Speaker 1: fighting the way they have been fighting for all of
- 8:02Speaker 1: them to see Loofy collapsed in the street and run
- 8:06Speaker 1: past him and be like, hey man, I wish I
- 8:09Speaker 1: could help, but I can't. I can't get behind it.
- 8:15Speaker 1: I can't, you know what I was saying, Like, I
- 8:17Speaker 1: just feel like, y'all, if it takes this kind of
- 8:24Speaker 1: speech every time, fuck you kind of maybe that's a
- 8:29Speaker 1: rap on all you guys. I don't know. I don't
- 8:33Speaker 1: want to feel this way, guys, I really don't. But
- 8:35Speaker 1: it is just a back and forth thing and I
- 8:37Speaker 1: have to acknowledge it because they become sort of key
- 8:42Speaker 1: and I like the fighting back against the birdcage concept.
- 8:47Speaker 1: It's just that everything just feels like it has to
- 8:52Speaker 1: go so far. And that's part of the problem with
- 8:56Speaker 1: the drawing out. I get that it's the filler issue,
- 8:59Speaker 1: you know. But anyway, so this whole thing, we start
- 9:05Speaker 1: off with what is the name of this guy who
- 9:11Speaker 1: rescues Loofy, the dude with the helmet from the coliseum.
- 9:15Speaker 1: I'm saying, the dude with the helmet, does that narrow
- 9:18Speaker 1: it down? It's got a big red crest on it,
- 9:23Speaker 1: and he asks Lufy, are you Lucy? And eventually there's
- 9:30Speaker 1: a point where Lufy tells him that Sabo took his
- 9:33Speaker 1: place for a little while in the fight, and I
- 9:36Speaker 1: couldn't help but lol at the fact that this guy
- 9:38Speaker 1: is like, that's a blatant violation of the rules. And
- 9:42Speaker 1: I was just sort of like, you know what, even
- 9:49Speaker 1: though it feels like, are you really worried about this
- 9:52Speaker 1: right now? As somebody who myself really loves rules, I
- 9:55Speaker 1: couldn't help but be like, yeah, you tell them. I'm
- 10:01Speaker 1: not obviously really mad about it. It's totally fine, but
- 10:05Speaker 1: I just did find it funny that they decided for
- 10:08Speaker 1: this guy to have an issue with that at this point.
- 10:13Speaker 1: So the thing that this guy is doing is he
- 10:18Speaker 1: is agreeing that he can get Lufy the ten minutes
- 10:25Speaker 1: that he needs, and Lufy he has to ask him, like,
- 10:32Speaker 1: do you really think after that ten minutes that you're
- 10:36Speaker 1: gonna be able to beat this guy? Do you truly
- 10:39Speaker 1: believe it? And Lufy of course takes a minute to
- 10:42Speaker 1: collect himself and says yes. But I appreciated the guy
- 10:47Speaker 1: asking because honestly, Loufy does look like he is in
- 10:50Speaker 1: such bad shape that you buy this guy ten minutes
- 10:52Speaker 1: and he'll just fall asleep, like you ever have this
- 10:56Speaker 1: guy's where you have just done a bunch of errands
- 10:58Speaker 1: and you come home and you know that you need
- 11:00Speaker 1: to wash the dishes and start making dinner, but you
- 11:03Speaker 1: are just gonna take ten minutes to sit on the
- 11:05Speaker 1: couch and regroup after being out and doing all these errands.
- 11:09Speaker 1: And it's just the fatal mistake. You sat down, and
- 11:13Speaker 1: now that's it. You are not getting up again making dinner.
- 11:17Speaker 1: I will have crackers. I will eat cereal dishes tomorrow. Maybe, Like,
- 11:26Speaker 1: I really do understand why this dude is sort of
- 11:28Speaker 1: I'm going to go ahead and check. Is that ten
- 11:33Speaker 1: minutes gonna be enough? Are you positive? Seraphim says yeats.
- 11:40Speaker 1: I love him so damn much. I really wish he'd
- 11:42Speaker 1: come along with the crew, not as an official straw hat,
- 11:45Speaker 1: but just to hang out being their fight commentator slash
- 11:48Speaker 1: hype man. If like, I do really enjoy him being
- 11:52Speaker 1: the hype man, and I agree that like during different moments,
- 11:58Speaker 1: it would be very funny because the way that he
- 12:00Speaker 1: would commentate on different people, they might either love it
- 12:04Speaker 1: or hate it. But somebody that I think it would
- 12:07Speaker 1: be very fun to watch him commentate on is Chopper
- 12:11Speaker 1: because Chopper can be simultaneously really surprising and you know, impressive,
- 12:19Speaker 1: or he can be an adorable little guy, and it's
- 12:23Speaker 1: just sort of who knows how it's gonna shake out,
- 12:27Speaker 1: you know. So I would I would have a lot
- 12:30Speaker 1: of fun watching that, just seeing the way that he
- 12:32Speaker 1: decides that he's going to, like if he's going to
- 12:36Speaker 1: really hype them up, or if he's going to be like, Wow,
- 12:38Speaker 1: never saw them coming. I thought they'd be useless, and
- 12:41Speaker 1: it turns out they could do something. So as this
- 12:47Speaker 1: is all happening, he is getting together a bunch of
- 12:51Speaker 1: the other dudes who are from the the coliseum as
- 12:57Speaker 1: well other guys who had been fighting, and they agree
- 13:04Speaker 1: that they're going to do their best to stand up
- 13:06Speaker 1: against Do Flamingo and keep him busy for ten minutes. Now.
- 13:14Speaker 1: I don't know about you, guys, but I was a
- 13:21Speaker 1: little dismayed on behalf of these men because I have
- 13:25Speaker 1: seen what Do Flamingo can do to people who have
- 13:29Speaker 1: devil fruit powers, and it just seemed to me that
- 13:35Speaker 1: this was going to be unevenly matched, to say the least.
- 13:43Speaker 1: And you know, eventually you see these guys getting fucking
- 13:48Speaker 1: like speared on the end of his threads and held
- 13:52Speaker 1: up into the air in a way that's just desperately
- 14:00Speaker 1: like humiliating, I guess is really the best way to
- 14:02Speaker 1: say it. But I appreciate that they are willing to
- 14:09Speaker 1: do it. I just think that when we are seeing
- 14:12Speaker 1: them about to go up against do Flamingo, what I
- 14:18Speaker 1: would have rather seen here. And this is just me
- 14:22Speaker 1: being a little bit fucked up, but I'm gonna say it,
- 14:27Speaker 1: these guys all seem a little bit too confident that
- 14:31Speaker 1: they are going to be able to do anything to
- 14:33Speaker 1: do Flamingo. They just really seem to believe they're going
- 14:39Speaker 1: to make a difference, like in hurting him. At one point,
- 14:44Speaker 1: one of the guys says to Lufy, like, maybe by
- 14:47Speaker 1: the time you get back up will have taken care
- 14:50Speaker 1: of him. And while I deeply appreciate that they are
- 14:58Speaker 1: trying to be like positive in the moment and set
- 15:01Speaker 1: a certain like example and tone to this, I kind
- 15:05Speaker 1: of would have liked if it felt like everybody was going, Okay,
- 15:13Speaker 1: I know I'm about to die. I'm going into this
- 15:16Speaker 1: with the awareness that this is probably me saying goodbye
- 15:22Speaker 1: to life forever. And even though that's the case, I
- 15:27Speaker 1: am still willing to put myself on the line because I,
- 15:32Speaker 1: oh straw hat that much, because I believe that in
- 15:34Speaker 1: the end he will be able to do the thing.
- 15:37Speaker 1: I wanted there to be more of a solemnity to it,
- 15:43Speaker 1: if that makes sense, just because it like I just
- 15:51Speaker 1: them seeming to think that they can do anything doesn't
- 15:58Speaker 1: feel like it makes sense. They just saw this man
- 16:03Speaker 1: defeat two of the most powerful people on this island.
- 16:06Speaker 1: And when I say defeat, like, okay, they're not dead,
- 16:09Speaker 1: but like Law was pretty close. He did lose an arm,
- 16:14Speaker 1: and Lufy has been like taken down for the count.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Ten minutes out for Loufy. That's a pretty long time
- 16:21Speaker 1: all things considered. So anyway, all these dudes just going
- 16:26Speaker 1: out there and just being like, yeah, we're about to
- 16:28Speaker 1: do this, and they gather around do flamingo and they
- 16:31Speaker 1: actually start like chuckling to themselves like they're going to
- 16:36Speaker 1: accomplish fucking anything. And there was something about it that
- 16:40Speaker 1: just made me go, I don't know, then go die,
- 16:45Speaker 1: Like you guys had to have seen the same fight
- 16:47Speaker 1: that I saw. What do you Why are you sure
- 16:52Speaker 1: at all that this is going to work? Like what
- 16:55Speaker 1: do you? Where are you getting this profound self confidence from?
- 17:01Speaker 1: And I feel like I wanted this to be treated
- 17:06Speaker 1: much more as like, look at this massive sacrifice that
- 17:09Speaker 1: all of these men are willing to give and just
- 17:15Speaker 1: have it be kind of like maybe a moment where
- 17:18Speaker 1: Lufy is watching and he feels the weight of the
- 17:22Speaker 1: expectations because all of these dudes are literally willing to
- 17:27Speaker 1: die just to buy him ten minutes. You know. I
- 17:32Speaker 1: know that they're not actually going to die, because that's
- 17:34Speaker 1: not how this show works, granted, but I think that
- 17:42Speaker 1: that could have been a really like, kind of high
- 17:45Speaker 1: impact emotional moment, and it could have worked really well.
- 17:50Speaker 1: That's all I'm saying. So, Okay, we have a moment
- 17:54Speaker 1: the confrontation between Burgess and Sabo as well, where just
- 18:00Speaker 1: goes after Sabo and he Sabo finally is like, Okay,
- 18:05Speaker 1: I guess it's true that everybody that's working with Teach
- 18:09Speaker 1: has basically agreed that they're going to kill every Devil
- 18:14Speaker 1: Fruit user that they can in order to try and
- 18:18Speaker 1: steal their power away from them. Not super interested in this,
- 18:26Speaker 1: but I will say that I'm glad Burgess is being
- 18:30Speaker 1: taken care of by somebody other than Loofy. I knew
- 18:35Speaker 1: that that was likely going to have to happen. But
- 18:40Speaker 1: I thought there would be more of a sense of
- 18:42Speaker 1: him trying to get a loofy and somebody having to
- 18:45Speaker 1: constantly jump in and protect him, And instead it's a
- 18:50Speaker 1: feeling much more like Loofy is out of the picture
- 18:55Speaker 1: for right now, and I am coming in asking you
- 18:58Speaker 1: what the hell it is that you are trying to
- 19:01Speaker 1: accomplish here, because I have shit to do and I
- 19:06Speaker 1: have issues that I want to talk to you about,
- 19:09Speaker 1: and I'm going to get involved for my own reasons
- 19:12Speaker 1: that actually have nothing to do with Luviy. It feels
- 19:15Speaker 1: to me like Sabo is like, straight on, just what
- 19:18Speaker 1: are you doing here? And any and is this about
- 19:23Speaker 1: me in any way? I don't mean that in like
- 19:25Speaker 1: a shitty way. I feel like it sounds that way,
- 19:28Speaker 1: but what I'm saying is just I was worried that
- 19:33Speaker 1: this was going to feel really tedious, because it was
- 19:36Speaker 1: just going to be watching Lufy targeted but unable to
- 19:41Speaker 1: fight the whole time. And instead, even though I'm not
- 19:44Speaker 1: super interested, I felt like at least it was dealt
- 19:47Speaker 1: with somewhat quickly, that it's just the two of them
- 19:51Speaker 1: up against each other and then they get sort of
- 19:53Speaker 1: interrupted eventually by the huge attack from Do Flamingo, because
- 20:00Speaker 1: he is up and he is using his threads that
- 20:04Speaker 1: have like this dark purple tip to them, which I
- 20:08Speaker 1: think is meant to be hockey on the actual threads,
- 20:14Speaker 1: or perhaps it's meant to be blood, and it's just
- 20:16Speaker 1: sort of like the dark. There's a big fire behind him,
- 20:22Speaker 1: and there's a sense of maybe this is supposed to
- 20:25Speaker 1: be like shadow and it is blood, but it just
- 20:29Speaker 1: looks that way. I don't know if it's hockey or not.
- 20:32Speaker 1: I'm not sure if it needs to be hockey, because
- 20:36Speaker 1: they're you know, he's piercing through just human bodies and
- 20:39Speaker 1: he has never seemed to need hockey to do that
- 20:41Speaker 1: in the past. So okay, Then we go to man
- 20:48Speaker 1: Cherie's flight episode seven thirty, and we have all of
- 20:54Speaker 1: the townspeople running. This is one of the points where
- 20:57Speaker 1: they are passing by Loofy, and we have got all
- 21:00Speaker 1: these guys who are on the ground, these like really
- 21:04Speaker 1: they are competitors in the arena that have been they've
- 21:10Speaker 1: made it to the final levels, and there's this moment
- 21:15Speaker 1: where they are laying on the ground and you just
- 21:18Speaker 1: see these little moats that are falling almost looking like
- 21:22Speaker 1: fireflies or something. As this is happening, the dudes who
- 21:30Speaker 1: are still conscious are gathered around all of the ones
- 21:34Speaker 1: or who are fallen, and they're commenting on how like, oh, yeah,
- 21:38Speaker 1: these guys are not going to be of any help
- 21:40Speaker 1: to us. They are they have been removed from play.
- 21:46Speaker 1: And then they look up and they see these moats falling,
- 21:49Speaker 1: and Leo he Robin looks up first and just says,
- 21:54Speaker 1: what's that? And Leo has a gasp like he knows
- 21:57Speaker 1: exactly what's going on here, and we see one hit
- 22:01Speaker 1: the chest of macho man Randy Savage. How how's Rudin?
- 22:07Speaker 1: I can't remember his name. I think it's h J.
- 22:10Speaker 1: Something has Ruden, I think, And his eyes open and
- 22:16Speaker 1: he stands up and we find out later that this
- 22:19Speaker 1: was Mancherry like doing that healing thing on everybody, and
- 22:25Speaker 1: eventually all of our guys get back up. It's a
- 22:31Speaker 1: pretty great moment, honestly, I was really because, I, you know,
- 22:39Speaker 1: we have had enough of the bad guys getting their
- 22:42Speaker 1: second chances, getting to stand up and frighten and terrify
- 22:51Speaker 1: the person that they're fighting by seemingly being unstoppable. And
- 22:57Speaker 1: I just personally was gratified to see that, yeah, we've
- 23:03Speaker 1: got like even the good guys also get their second chances,
- 23:08Speaker 1: that it's not just I'm trying to do this to
- 23:11Speaker 1: shock and sadden you and make things harder for our dudes,
- 23:15Speaker 1: and Mensuri's power being used this way where it's like
- 23:20Speaker 1: just drifting over the populace. There was something about it
- 23:27Speaker 1: that I really liked in terms of efficiency. I guess
- 23:35Speaker 1: because you guys know that I like, love me some logistics.
- 23:39Speaker 1: It has occurred to me now because y'all know all
- 23:42Speaker 1: I have done this whole episode or this whole arc
- 23:47Speaker 1: is Lament, how many fucking people are dying. It's constantly
- 23:53Speaker 1: me just being like the whole town would be dead.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Look at all the buildings that got destroyed. And now
- 23:59Speaker 1: I'm starting to think, is it possible for Mancherry to
- 24:03Speaker 1: fix the whole of Dress Rosa with her tears? Honestly,
- 24:09Speaker 1: I wouldn't hate it. It's the sort of thing that
- 24:12Speaker 1: I feel could be seen by many people rightfully so
- 24:16Speaker 1: as a little bit of a cheat. Okay, do I care? Not?
- 24:23Speaker 1: Really Like this show does little cheats all the time,
- 24:28Speaker 1: and I feel like watching the whole town get completely
- 24:32Speaker 1: like decimated, devastated. It's more than ten percent, right, decimated
- 24:39Speaker 1: is only ten percent? I personally was made so anxious
- 24:47Speaker 1: by this so many times that just finding a way
- 24:50Speaker 1: to undo it no problem, you know. I just think
- 24:55Speaker 1: that would make me happy rather than feeling like that's
- 24:59Speaker 1: too easy. So just going on record saying mat right
- 25:03Speaker 1: out of the gate, Right out of the gate, all right,
- 25:07Speaker 1: So let's see, I'm trying to see the moment where
- 25:09Speaker 1: we've got because more motes continue to come down, and
- 25:14Speaker 1: they're hitting the townspeople as well. There are folks who
- 25:18Speaker 1: are trying to run from the bird cage, and one
- 25:21Speaker 1: of the dudes says, like, how he twisted his ankle
- 25:24Speaker 1: and he's not going to be able to keep up,
- 25:26Speaker 1: and this is the best I can do, And these
- 25:29Speaker 1: little motes that fall hit him, and all of a
- 25:33Speaker 1: sudden he is able to take off past the two
- 25:35Speaker 1: healthy people in front of him because I guess his
- 25:38Speaker 1: uh ankle is totally healed. It was like I wondered
- 25:44Speaker 1: if he had if the two people who were healthy
- 25:47Speaker 1: had been hit, which I'm surprised they weren't also hit
- 25:52Speaker 1: by these, but maybe because they don't have an actual injury.
- 25:56Speaker 1: It doesn't bother them. But I feel like everybody should
- 25:59Speaker 1: be tired enough that healing should still do something to them.
- 26:05Speaker 1: And yeah, we have Leo talking about like anywhere they
- 26:09Speaker 1: hit is going to bring people miraculous discoveries, and Mancherry
- 26:16Speaker 1: is so filled with grief as she is looking at
- 26:20Speaker 1: the devastation that has been wreaked on her home that
- 26:24Speaker 1: the tears she is letting fall, there's plenty of them
- 26:30Speaker 1: to go around, and he says, but it does have
- 26:33Speaker 1: a drawback. The effect is temporary. After three minutes have passed,
- 26:40Speaker 1: everyone will revert to their former states, so it's a
- 26:43Speaker 1: life support thing rather than like a complete cure. Now
- 26:49Speaker 1: I get that this is this, but we know that
- 26:51Speaker 1: she has the ability to actually bring people not back
- 26:56Speaker 1: to life, but like, you know, really cure people. So
- 26:59Speaker 1: I'm hoping that maybe there's a way to do this
- 27:02Speaker 1: later on. But yeah, I love the dude who's got
- 27:05Speaker 1: a broken leg and he just hops up on his
- 27:08Speaker 1: cast and starts sprinting, and he's like, oh my god,
- 27:13Speaker 1: it's like the pain just went away. Man Sherie later
- 27:19Speaker 1: on kind of laments what she's done here and says
- 27:22Speaker 1: that she feels like she gave everybody false hope. I
- 27:28Speaker 1: actually get why she'd feel that way, but of course
- 27:30Speaker 1: I don't agree with her. You know, it's just unfair.
- 27:38Speaker 1: You tried to give people another shot. You succeeded in
- 27:44Speaker 1: doing that, and I just I don't know what else
- 27:51Speaker 1: are you supposed to do? That's that's my main question,
- 27:55Speaker 1: is like what other option would you have chosen to take?
- 27:58Speaker 1: Because in my opinion, if you've got the ability to
- 28:05Speaker 1: give people a boost for three minutes, you're not gonna
- 28:09Speaker 1: not do it right. So you did the best you could. Girl,
- 28:13Speaker 1: It's fine. I like man CHERI it's so funny because
- 28:18Speaker 1: I was just worried about what she was going to
- 28:21Speaker 1: be like, and then it has turned out to be
- 28:23Speaker 1: there was nothing to worry about whatsoever, because she was
- 28:26Speaker 1: just being wildly misrepresented by Leo, who is a jerk.
- 28:32Speaker 1: I think Leo might be a jerk and or just
- 28:37Speaker 1: unreasonable maybe is a nicer way to say it. But
- 28:40Speaker 1: it is just a nice surprise for me because I
- 28:42Speaker 1: really thought Mancherry was going to be a certain type
- 28:46Speaker 1: and then it turns out not at all. That's not
- 28:48Speaker 1: what's happening here. So let's see IM trying to get
- 28:53Speaker 1: to the end of this episode where Trafalgar he let's see,
- 29:01Speaker 1: he is come across by what's his face? Oh my god,
- 29:07Speaker 1: you guys just told me this. Rfmyets that's his name,
- 29:12Speaker 1: and he has one of his arms back on, which
- 29:18Speaker 1: I'm assuming is part of this like temporary healing thing
- 29:26Speaker 1: that the episode ends with him like slowly getting to
- 29:29Speaker 1: his feet and gats being like, holy shit, what are
- 29:33Speaker 1: you doing here? It is very funny to me later
- 29:38Speaker 1: when Cabbage turns around and it's just like, hey, I'm
- 29:42Speaker 1: so sorry, but I've got to go, like, you know,
- 29:48Speaker 1: pay attention to my fans. He didn't even notice that
- 29:54Speaker 1: Trafalgar had gone away. I didn't even think about the
- 29:58Speaker 1: fact that Cab was sitting somewhere. When Trafalgar turns up,
- 30:03Speaker 1: it didn't occur to me, like didn't he say he
- 30:05Speaker 1: was going to watch him? So when he starts talking
- 30:09Speaker 1: about like, oh, popularity, it's got to be me. I'm
- 30:13Speaker 1: so sorry. And he starts to turn around and I
- 30:14Speaker 1: was like, oh, yeah, but Trafalgar's gone, isn't he Who
- 30:18Speaker 1: is he talking to? And it turns out that our
- 30:20Speaker 1: guy just didn't know that he was gone, which I
- 30:24Speaker 1: thought was very very funny. I just I like this character.
- 30:29Speaker 1: At first, I found him the jokes to be like
- 30:32Speaker 1: very easy, low hanging fruit, sort of obvious, you know
- 30:34Speaker 1: what I mean. But I gradually have started to come
- 30:38Speaker 1: around on him and feel like he is giving everything
- 30:42Speaker 1: it's all so heavy, so much of the time, you know,
- 30:45Speaker 1: he is giving everything a dose of humor and lightness
- 30:51Speaker 1: here and there that we really really need. So I'm
- 30:55Speaker 1: kind of into it. And of course it turns out
- 30:59Speaker 1: later when he thinks that they are talking about him
- 31:01Speaker 1: because of his popularity and how he was a star
- 31:04Speaker 1: in the making, that they are talking actually about Loufy.
- 31:08Speaker 1: But it seems like maybe having lost law is distraction
- 31:13Speaker 1: enough that he's not going to take that too terribly
- 31:15Speaker 1: much to heart. I guess we'll see, but I do
- 31:20Speaker 1: I'm going to be honest, guys, I wouldn't mind seeing
- 31:24Speaker 1: Hakuma again. That's his name, right, the weird double what's
- 31:30Speaker 1: the word alter ego? He is just it's or maybe
- 31:34Speaker 1: it is at Hakubah it's a bee, right. I really
- 31:37Speaker 1: do enjoy this weird thing, and I would be interested
- 31:42Speaker 1: in him unleashing that at Do Flamingo specifically, just because
- 31:47Speaker 1: he seems utterly unstoppable. I just want to see what
- 31:51Speaker 1: Do Flamingo does because he's so fast and he is
- 31:56Speaker 1: so without fear, and I genuinely can't decide how this
- 32:03Speaker 1: would happen. What would happen? Yeah, I don't know. I'm
- 32:10Speaker 1: just I wouldn't mind seeing that. Sorry, I'm going over
- 32:18Speaker 1: like because I'm jumping around here guys wanting to talk
- 32:21Speaker 1: about everything and make sure that I don't miss anything.
- 32:24Speaker 1: And there is a lot of sort of departing to
- 32:27Speaker 1: different characters just to see their reactions to little things,
- 32:31Speaker 1: but it's not really too big a deal. In this
- 32:34Speaker 1: third of these episodes, this is when we get Zoro
- 32:38Speaker 1: deciding to press back against the bird cage and everybody
- 32:41Speaker 1: starting to get on board with him, and Frankie encouraging
- 32:45Speaker 1: the Tontata to push against the factory building and hold
- 32:50Speaker 1: it back, et cetera. Then we get violent coming and
- 32:57Speaker 1: fighting Do Flamingo. I really really enjoyed the start of it,
- 33:06Speaker 1: her just deciding that she was gonna fucking fight, because
- 33:10Speaker 1: if I care about my country and I don't try
- 33:13Speaker 1: and resist this man, then what use am I Honestly,
- 33:18Speaker 1: that energy was doing it for me. I really really
- 33:21Speaker 1: liked it. It's a real shame that things go in
- 33:26Speaker 1: the direction that they go, you guys, because you know,
- 33:30Speaker 1: as you all probably are aware, the uh she gets
- 33:37Speaker 1: got caught up by him after some pretty fun knife
- 33:42Speaker 1: work that I was like enjoying watching, actually, and it
- 33:48Speaker 1: like I didn't expect her to beat him, just to
- 33:51Speaker 1: be clear, I was hoping that things would take a
- 33:56Speaker 1: little bit longer to go so terribly left. And then
- 34:00Speaker 1: of course he has to have his like moment of
- 34:03Speaker 1: monologuing where he tells her, I bet you thought that
- 34:06Speaker 1: because you were part of my family that I would
- 34:09Speaker 1: go easy on you, which I was like, not only
- 34:12Speaker 1: do I not think that she thought that, but I
- 34:15Speaker 1: don't think anybody would expect that. And he says something
- 34:19Speaker 1: like I always forgive family for their mistakes, but betrayal
- 34:25Speaker 1: is a different thing entirely, And I was like, yeah,
- 34:29Speaker 1: I mean, I feel like we'd all we do all
- 34:32Speaker 1: know that nobody would expect you to go easy on her,
- 34:35Speaker 1: Like at all. We've seen the way that do Flamingo
- 34:39Speaker 1: reacts to betrayal. We all know that is a trigger
- 34:42Speaker 1: for him at this point, you know, and unfortunately what
- 34:47Speaker 1: this eventually turns into is let's let's watch Do Flamingo
- 34:59Speaker 1: not only can Violet, but then Rebecca turns up to
- 35:04Speaker 1: help and gets grabbed up by Do Flamingo also, and
- 35:09Speaker 1: he starts using his puppeting power to control her as well.
- 35:16Speaker 1: And I will tell you what, I hated this more
- 35:22Speaker 1: than anything so far. And I think the reason I
- 35:25Speaker 1: hated it so much is just the thing that you
- 35:28Speaker 1: put probably could piece together. He like Do Flamingo's whole deal,
- 35:40Speaker 1: being as unbeatable as he is, there's no surprise to
- 35:43Speaker 1: me that they can't do anything. But I was thinking
- 35:47Speaker 1: that maybe the women were going to get a chance
- 35:50Speaker 1: to be real badasses and do something again. They don't
- 35:55Speaker 1: have to beat him in order to put on a
- 35:57Speaker 1: fucking good effort. But Day gets captured quickly, and then Rebecca,
- 36:06Speaker 1: who has just not done anything, just like repeatedly not
- 36:13Speaker 1: done anything. I was just maybe we're gonna get some Rebecca,
- 36:19Speaker 1: like maybe she's gonna and it doesn't happen. It doesn't happen.
- 36:25Speaker 1: She just winds up getting controlled by him and she
- 36:30Speaker 1: can't resist it. And I don't blame her for that,
- 36:32Speaker 1: Like that is clearly the way that this power works.
- 36:36Speaker 1: I don't feel like we've met anybody who can resist
- 36:39Speaker 1: what he does to them in this regard. But I
- 36:45Speaker 1: wanted eventually, when she's about to strike, there's this like
- 36:53Speaker 1: shocking gasp, she opens her eyes. Loofy has stepped between
- 36:59Speaker 1: her and Violet, and they have this moment, you know,
- 37:03Speaker 1: of like thank you for stopping me. I'm not going
- 37:06Speaker 1: to let you hurt your friend. I'm not going to
- 37:08Speaker 1: let him hurt her. And it was just a little
- 37:13Speaker 1: bit of a bummer to me that, like there wasn't
- 37:18Speaker 1: a way around her getting saved by Loofy, because all
- 37:24Speaker 1: it has been for Rebecca is her needing to Oh
- 37:29Speaker 1: that's right, thank you, Saraphim says. Lufy didn't step between them,
- 37:33Speaker 1: he had lost swap him and Viola. That's right, because
- 37:37Speaker 1: Viola is off to the side all of a sudden,
- 37:39Speaker 1: and it's just like, wait, what the fuck happened? But
- 37:42Speaker 1: I just wanted I want Rebecca to like actually accomplish
- 37:48Speaker 1: anything without needing to be saved by somebody else, and
- 37:53Speaker 1: Oda just clearly has no interest in that. I guess
- 37:57Speaker 1: it's just really fucking annoying. It's just really irritating to watch.
- 38:06Speaker 1: She is such a complete waste of a character. I
- 38:11Speaker 1: don't get the point of her except to be pathetic
- 38:14Speaker 1: all the time. And it sucks. It just really sucks.
- 38:18Speaker 1: Like as far as Achilles heels of an arc, Rebecca
- 38:24Speaker 1: should be removed. If I were going to be making
- 38:27Speaker 1: this for the live action series, if I were going
- 38:31Speaker 1: to be taking this arc and adapting it, I would
- 38:34Speaker 1: either have Rebecca do a whole lot more fighting and
- 38:37Speaker 1: not need to be saved, or I would just remove
- 38:39Speaker 1: her entirely. And I really don't want to remove her
- 38:44Speaker 1: entirely because there are so few women characters, but she
- 38:47Speaker 1: isn't really representing for us at all. So if that's
- 38:50Speaker 1: what we've got to do, that's what we've got to do.
- 38:52Speaker 1: I would rather she be able to take care of herself.
- 38:57Speaker 1: But sorry, Floria's in the chat saying, yeah, never think
- 39:03Speaker 1: now it is her time with Rebecca. You will always
- 39:05Speaker 1: be disappointed, And honestly, that is all I've been doing
- 39:09Speaker 1: this arc. Every time she does something, I think maybe here, here,
- 39:12Speaker 1: it's the moment, and you're right. I have just been
- 39:15Speaker 1: disappointed every single time. It's just almost a joke at
- 39:20Speaker 1: this point, and I like it's it's it wouldn't feel
- 39:26Speaker 1: so fucking frustrating. I think in this episode if it
- 39:32Speaker 1: weren't for the fact that Violet has been captured also,
- 39:36Speaker 1: so it just feels like we are making fools out
- 39:40Speaker 1: of both of these women, and I would have liked
- 39:45Speaker 1: Violet to be able to do something at the very least.
- 39:48Speaker 1: Maybe if she continues to fight Do Flamingo, she can
- 39:53Speaker 1: keep him paying attention to her and not notice that
- 39:56Speaker 1: Lufi is up, and so Lufy could make make an
- 40:01Speaker 1: attack of his own while Do Flamingo's attention was distracted.
- 40:05Speaker 1: For example, like that would be something where she's contributing
- 40:09Speaker 1: without actually being so powerful that she's a real match
- 40:12Speaker 1: for him, which I don't think would work. You know,
- 40:15Speaker 1: that's not where her power is. And I just like, overall,
- 40:25Speaker 1: there are many things that we could have done with
- 40:27Speaker 1: her in terms of fighting, using her power to see
- 40:31Speaker 1: ahead the moves that he's going to make and stuff.
- 40:33Speaker 1: You know, it's just there's I just feel like there's
- 40:39Speaker 1: a lot of potential that we could have used, and
- 40:41Speaker 1: instead we chose the most like kind of diminishing options
- 40:48Speaker 1: for both of them. Sarah Fim says Lufy using stealth.
- 40:53Speaker 1: I did not say that, I said she could distract
- 40:56Speaker 1: do Flamingo. Nobody ever said Lufi is stealthy. Don't put
- 41:00Speaker 1: words in my mouth, but she could definitely as Lufy
- 41:05Speaker 1: is struggling to his feet, keep dofl Mingo from looking
- 41:07Speaker 1: in that direction and be like willing to put it
- 41:10Speaker 1: on the line, Like this is the same thing as
- 41:12Speaker 1: with the men at the beginning of the episode that
- 41:14Speaker 1: I was talking about, who they're going into this acting
- 41:17Speaker 1: like they have any chance against Do Flamingo and they
- 41:19Speaker 1: get killed almost instantly. If they go into it knowing
- 41:23Speaker 1: that's going to happen, which we would all fucking know
- 41:26Speaker 1: after seeing the fights we've seen, then there's more gravity
- 41:30Speaker 1: to it. If Violet goes into this and she knows
- 41:34Speaker 1: I Am not going to be able to beat him,
- 41:36Speaker 1: but I can buy some time. That's something. And just like, honestly, again,
- 41:47Speaker 1: take out fucking Rebecca, remove her. I just don't see it.
- 41:54Speaker 1: I the whole length of the scene where she is
- 42:02Speaker 1: being forced to raise her sword against Violet, it was
- 42:07Speaker 1: just agony, you guys, because I don't care about her.
- 42:11Speaker 1: It's drawn out so much. I know that she's not
- 42:14Speaker 1: going to be able to fight back no matter what
- 42:16Speaker 1: she does, And I also have no doubt that Viola
- 42:19Speaker 1: isn't actually going to get sliced up by Rebecca, Like
- 42:22Speaker 1: I just don't think that's happening either, So I felt like, Okay,
- 42:26Speaker 1: now I just have to sit through this. So this
- 42:32Speaker 1: is when we jump in the fourth of these episodes
- 42:36Speaker 1: to gets on the cliff side, and he starts doing
- 42:40Speaker 1: his announcer thing, and some guy is yelling, I don't
- 42:44Speaker 1: know what you think you're doing, but now is not
- 42:46Speaker 1: the time, which honestly I could not help put lol
- 42:50Speaker 1: at because that was a fair thing to say, Like
- 42:55Speaker 1: I know that he is worrying about dress Rosa, that
- 42:59Speaker 1: this is all him trying to do something real, and
- 43:03Speaker 1: I have faith in his like his little plan, whatever
- 43:08Speaker 1: that might be. However, it did just like make me
- 43:15Speaker 1: laugh to think that nobody else has been privy to
- 43:19Speaker 1: the little conversation that he had with Loofy or the
- 43:21Speaker 1: organizing of these guys that happened before, Like I don't
- 43:23Speaker 1: think anybody has seen that. So all they're just seeing
- 43:26Speaker 1: is a guy who does the calls for the WWE
- 43:30Speaker 1: competition in the middle of a war, deciding that he's
- 43:33Speaker 1: going to get on the mic, which really would not
- 43:36Speaker 1: inspire confidence. I can understand being like, dude, are you
- 43:40Speaker 1: fucking serious? Who called for you? Nobody wants to like
- 43:44Speaker 1: stop it, and eventually he does his whole like hype
- 43:50Speaker 1: man routine. But uh, it was very funny the reaction,
- 43:54Speaker 1: because once I stopped and put myself in the context
- 43:57Speaker 1: of these people, I would be like, I would have
- 44:00Speaker 1: the same response, just like, bruh, what are you doing?
- 44:06Speaker 1: So this is when he starts talking about the hero
- 44:09Speaker 1: who lit up the colisseum like a shining star, and
- 44:14Speaker 1: we cut over to a Cavendish who's chuckling to himself,
- 44:19Speaker 1: turns and realizes that law is not there, and then
- 44:24Speaker 1: we cut back to Rebecca, who is literally as she
- 44:28Speaker 1: is trying to fight back against do Flamingo, is just
- 44:32Speaker 1: saying Lucy, please help me, which just so fucking lame.
- 44:39Speaker 1: And this is when the guy says, oh, remember Loofy
- 44:42Speaker 1: in the fighting pits. He had another name. Do you
- 44:46Speaker 1: want to hear it? He is a pirate known a
- 44:50Speaker 1: straw hat monkey d Louviy, and all of the townspeople gasp.
- 44:57Speaker 1: One guy says, he sure had me fooled with that beard.
- 45:01Speaker 1: That's the guy King Ricu was talking about before, right,
- 45:05Speaker 1: He sure had me fooled with that beard had me
- 45:07Speaker 1: rolling because that beard was like a piece of fucking
- 45:10Speaker 1: construction paper, like let's stop it, sir. And then Gatz
- 45:15Speaker 1: is like, I understand that he is a pirate, and
- 45:18Speaker 1: you've been manipulated by a pirate for years, and so
- 45:21Speaker 1: you might not want to trust him, but he isn't
- 45:24Speaker 1: like the don Quixote family who tried to pass themselves
- 45:28Speaker 1: off as saviors, and you don't have to trust me.
- 45:33Speaker 1: Listen to King Riku, who placed his faith in straw
- 45:38Speaker 1: hat Loofy. And there are some guys that are talking
- 45:42Speaker 1: down in the square, and one of them says something like,
- 45:46Speaker 1: you know, we didn't listen to King Riku last time
- 45:51Speaker 1: when he tried to tell us, you know, like what
- 45:55Speaker 1: was going on and that he didn't do this stuff,
- 45:58Speaker 1: and that resulted in Don Quixote do Flamingo getting to
- 46:03Speaker 1: take over. So maybe we should listen to him this
- 46:08Speaker 1: time about who is actually the one that's going to
- 46:13Speaker 1: help us. We should have trusted him in the first place,
- 46:18Speaker 1: and we believe do Flamingo a fucking like newcomer, who
- 46:23Speaker 1: why did we put our faith in him over the
- 46:26Speaker 1: king that we had trusted for years and years, And honestly,
- 46:30Speaker 1: that was a very good question, Like I understand the
- 46:34Speaker 1: way that he made this man kill his own people.
- 46:37Speaker 1: I don't get me wrong, I do not blame them
- 46:41Speaker 1: for not like wanting to believe this guy. But I
- 46:46Speaker 1: also felt like they clearly had not heard him out
- 46:51Speaker 1: or gotten like a decent explanation and the idea that
- 46:56Speaker 1: he has been so good to you this whole time
- 46:58Speaker 1: and then just snaps overnight and some guy shows up
- 47:00Speaker 1: and says, oh, I can save you, just make me king. Really,
- 47:06Speaker 1: when you look back with your twenty twenty vision, it
- 47:09Speaker 1: does seem sus it does sort of seem like maybe
- 47:12Speaker 1: we should have questioned a little bit more the timing
- 47:15Speaker 1: of this guy who turned up and said that he
- 47:17Speaker 1: could fix it all. After this dude had been great
- 47:20Speaker 1: to us for like decades. Probably we should have asked
- 47:24Speaker 1: more questions than that. And this is when Yatz tells
- 47:29Speaker 1: them that he spoke to Loofy earlier and he made
- 47:34Speaker 1: me a promise that he'll face do Flamingo for us,
- 47:38Speaker 1: and he just needed ten minutes to recover, and he says,
- 47:46Speaker 1: and he'll knock him out in one punch, which everybody
- 47:50Speaker 1: starts cheering personally, that probably would have fallen a little
- 47:54Speaker 1: bit flat for me because the the like that's a lot,
- 48:00Speaker 1: that's a lot to promise. I just wouldn't have bought it,
- 48:03Speaker 1: I'll tell you that. But I can say that getting
- 48:08Speaker 1: him back, like getting everybody on the side of supporting Lufy,
- 48:12Speaker 1: I appreciated because I was just sick of seeing folks
- 48:16Speaker 1: who were watching him get beat to a pulp act
- 48:20Speaker 1: as if he wasn't doing anything, you know, act as
- 48:23Speaker 1: if there was no real reason to trust him, or
- 48:26Speaker 1: that he's like doing this for his own reasons. Honestly,
- 48:30Speaker 1: even if he were, do Flamingo is your enemy. I
- 48:37Speaker 1: just don't see that there's anything Lufy could have done
- 48:42Speaker 1: that would be worse than what do Flamingo has done
- 48:45Speaker 1: out of the gate. Right now, Do Flamingo is like
- 48:48Speaker 1: literally leveling your city. I think that we could safely
- 48:52Speaker 1: just say that taking that one dude out who's doing
- 48:57Speaker 1: that is probably going to be a step up from
- 49:01Speaker 1: what's been going on. So anyway, this is when the
- 49:08Speaker 1: three minutes is up for all of the people who
- 49:11Speaker 1: had been recovered because of the little I can't remember
- 49:17Speaker 1: what they were called, but the recovery that mon Cherry
- 49:22Speaker 1: gave to all of them, and Robin, who had been
- 49:26Speaker 1: helping hold back all of the bird cage like on
- 49:30Speaker 1: her side, is going, wait, they're dropping like flies. Oh
- 49:35Speaker 1: my god. And this is when Leo says, yeah, and
- 49:38Speaker 1: they aren't going to work twice and we go up
- 49:41Speaker 1: to Mancherry and says, I'm sorry, that's the best I
- 49:44Speaker 1: can do. My ability just isn't good enough. I did
- 49:47Speaker 1: an awful thing. I gave them hope and then I
- 49:50Speaker 1: yanked it away. And Cubbs says, if it wasn't for
- 49:55Speaker 1: your help, there's no way of telling just how many
- 49:57Speaker 1: lives the bird cage might have claimed to day. Do
- 50:01Speaker 1: you see you made a miracle happen down there? And
- 50:07Speaker 1: I did really like this moment. Cub is cute, cub
- 50:11Speaker 1: is pretty adorable. So yeah, there are people and he's like,
- 50:16Speaker 1: we're gonna be bringing in fresh troops and say is yelling,
- 50:20Speaker 1: we'll hold the line at any cost, and he says
- 50:26Speaker 1: they were able to stall it long enough. Thanks to you,
- 50:28Speaker 1: they'll survive. To Lufilin returns and she has the stars
- 50:34Speaker 1: in her eyes looking down at the whole thing. Let's
- 50:36Speaker 1: begin the countdown to Lucy's come back. I do think
- 50:41Speaker 1: it's funny that they insist on calling him Lucy still,
- 50:44Speaker 1: like you know whatever. Anyway, as Yats is like announcing
- 50:51Speaker 1: and counting down, Do Flamingo spears him through the gut
- 50:59Speaker 1: and just says, you've had your fun. I couldn't even
- 51:07Speaker 1: be mad, Like I imagine that you're the bad guy
- 51:12Speaker 1: and you've got somebody literally doing like a play by
- 51:15Speaker 1: play about how you ain't shit and this guy's gonna
- 51:18Speaker 1: take you down, and look at this bitch ass. Of
- 51:21Speaker 1: course you are just going to want to take the
- 51:23Speaker 1: guy out. It didn't occur to me that he was
- 51:25Speaker 1: making himself a target. I just figured Do Flamingo is busy,
- 51:30Speaker 1: but I keep forgetting that he can be a petty
- 51:33Speaker 1: bitch and that Honestly, I couldn't help but laugh, like apart.
- 51:40Speaker 1: It was awful and it's very sudden, and I was
- 51:42Speaker 1: just like, oh God. But honestly, the choice to go
- 51:48Speaker 1: after him in the midst of all of this, I
- 51:51Speaker 1: think it just it makes it clear that this guy
- 51:55Speaker 1: is having an effect. You know, you could pretend that
- 51:57Speaker 1: he's not doing much in the grand scheme of things,
- 52:01Speaker 1: but obviously do Flamingo felt like he was, or he
- 52:04Speaker 1: wouldn't have bothered. So if anything, it's sort of a compliment,
- 52:07Speaker 1: if you want to see it that way. So we
- 52:13Speaker 1: pull back and we hear all of these people, like
- 52:17Speaker 1: you know, saying like, Lucy, are you up like trying
- 52:21Speaker 1: they're trying to they had finished their countdown and Lufy
- 52:26Speaker 1: has still not appeared again, and Do Flamingo is literally cackling,
- 52:33Speaker 1: that's what the subtitle say, cackles. And this is when
- 52:39Speaker 1: he says, all right, finally things have quieted down. We
- 52:43Speaker 1: can get back to business. Now you can go quiet too,
- 52:48Speaker 1: and is pulling Rebecca forward and she takes her big
- 52:53Speaker 1: swing and then suddenly Lufy is there and he's got
- 52:57Speaker 1: his armament up and is stopping the blade, and Do
- 53:01Speaker 1: Flamingo is getting this look on his face the way
- 53:04Speaker 1: that he does of just like ah shit, who's that?
- 53:08Speaker 1: And we see off to the side, Violet on the
- 53:13Speaker 1: rooftop with law Yeah, struggles to his feet through the
- 53:21Speaker 1: gut wound, yelling our champion is here. And Rebecca we
- 53:28Speaker 1: get like a close up of her snotty, crying face
- 53:32Speaker 1: as she just screams Lucy. And at this point, guys,
- 53:35Speaker 1: I'm already, you guys, know, like done with Rebecca. But
- 53:39Speaker 1: I was watching this and my husband stepped inside because
- 53:42Speaker 1: he had to grab his keys before he left for work,
- 53:45Speaker 1: and he just saw her face and he just went
- 53:52Speaker 1: and I went, yeah, I really hate her, and he says, yeah,
- 53:55Speaker 1: she seems really annoying, and then he left, and I
- 54:04Speaker 1: just couldn't stop laughing, you guys, because like his whole
- 54:07Speaker 1: reaction to her, it just felt like, in an instant,
- 54:11Speaker 1: we were on the exact same page, and he didn't
- 54:13Speaker 1: even have to watch the whole arc and he just
- 54:14Speaker 1: knew from that one moment. And then it ends with
- 54:22Speaker 1: Lufy like slowly standing up and looking over his shoulder
- 54:26Speaker 1: at Do Flamingo in a threatening manner, and that is
- 54:29Speaker 1: the end of the episode. So yeah, look at this, guys.
- 54:32Speaker 1: I talked about pretty much everything in those four episodes,
- 54:36Speaker 1: and I'm under time, so I think that covering flour
- 54:40Speaker 1: was totally fair. I really can't imagine how much longer
- 54:51Speaker 1: they can drag this out, and I know they can.
- 54:57Speaker 1: That's the thing is, like every time that I kind
- 54:58Speaker 1: of said that in the past, they just do. Of course,
- 55:03Speaker 1: I can't imagine because I'm worried about the storytelling being good,
- 55:07Speaker 1: but they don't worry about that part. They just worry
- 55:10Speaker 1: about the time. So when it comes to having to
- 55:14Speaker 1: stretch things, I just don't have enough imagination because there's
- 55:17Speaker 1: a line I don't want to cross and they don't
- 55:19Speaker 1: have that issue. But I will say that overall, still
- 55:23Speaker 1: really liking the Dress Rosa arc. It's just that I'm
- 55:25Speaker 1: going to when I think of the Dress Rosa arc,
- 55:28Speaker 1: I'm going to cut this part off of the end
- 55:31Speaker 1: of it and like mentally shorten it. It'll be like
- 55:35Speaker 1: this is not even quite part of the arc. It's
- 55:38Speaker 1: just like a separate thing, even though it's absolutely part
- 55:42Speaker 1: of the arc. Of course it is. Do Flamingo's the
- 55:44Speaker 1: villain of the arc. This is the fight via versus
- 55:48Speaker 1: between him and Lufy, our main guy. It absolutely is
- 55:53Speaker 1: part of the arc. But like everything before, this was
- 55:55Speaker 1: just so much more interesting. And imagine how how much
- 56:00Speaker 1: cooler this all could have been if we just sliced
- 56:03Speaker 1: out the fat and made it tighter. It could have
- 56:06Speaker 1: been really something. And I feel like you want to
- 56:12Speaker 1: reply to that with like, well, you could say that
- 56:14Speaker 1: about all the arcs. No, you couldn't know, You couldn't
- 56:16Speaker 1: there are some arcs that even if you took all
- 56:18Speaker 1: of the like filler out, the arc is just not
- 56:21Speaker 1: that good. It's just not you know, Like that's every
- 56:26Speaker 1: time that I'm thinking about this lately, I think about
- 56:28Speaker 1: that moment in a live action where we just get
- 56:31Speaker 1: to see what's his face get like killed, and it's
- 56:35Speaker 1: them acknowledging that that one arc of that one guy
- 56:38Speaker 1: sucked so bad. We're not doing it. And here's us
- 56:41Speaker 1: letting you know we're not doing it. And that's sort
- 56:47Speaker 1: of something I feel like could be done to a
- 56:49Speaker 1: lot of different arcs in this series. Don Kreig, thank you.
- 56:53Speaker 1: Florian Saraphim says, yeah, Drisrosa is infamous for its pacing issues,
- 56:57Speaker 1: easily the worst case of padding in the an. It's
- 57:01Speaker 1: a I think that I'm being more forgiving of it overall,
- 57:05Speaker 1: just because I like the rest of the arc so much,
- 57:07Speaker 1: and because the characters they're using for the padding are
- 57:10Speaker 1: mostly people that I have grown to like a little
- 57:14Speaker 1: bit in their own way. But I'm starting to run
- 57:19Speaker 1: out of grace, so it's time to get it together. Okay, show,
- 57:23Speaker 1: let's do this. I'm rooting for you, I really am,
- 57:27Speaker 1: So let's fucking do this, all right, guys. Well, like
- 57:32Speaker 1: I said, I still enjoyed these four. I really did,
- 57:35Speaker 1: but it is sort of damning that I was able
- 57:39Speaker 1: to talk about all four and be under time. So
- 57:42Speaker 1: I'm looking for it the next time. I hope that
- 57:44Speaker 1: you guys are too, And just a reminder that Thursday
- 57:50Speaker 1: or not Thursday next week. I had taken time off
- 57:54Speaker 1: to go to this like big event that actually isn't
- 57:57Speaker 1: happening now, so there's gonna be two solid weeks of
- 58:00Speaker 1: no recordings fir spoil me. So if you're wondering what
- 58:04Speaker 1: the hell's going on, it's just time off, and there
- 58:07Speaker 1: was by the time the event was canceled, there was
- 58:09Speaker 1: just not really a way to go back and fill
- 58:11Speaker 1: those slots in. So I'm gonna have some extra time.
- 58:15Speaker 1: I'm going to try and catch up on posting and
- 58:17Speaker 1: stuff because I am behind on that, and those of
- 58:19Speaker 1: you who have been wondering what's going on with the
- 58:22Speaker 1: one piece feed. I have tried to do like a
- 58:26Speaker 1: mass upload of episodes to it, and it has given
- 58:30Speaker 1: me an error every time I've tried it, So I
- 58:33Speaker 1: am going to try and work on that during the
- 58:35Speaker 1: downtime as well. And I'll be keeping you all posted
- 58:38Speaker 1: on that. All right, everybody, I will see you on Thursday.
- 58:42Speaker 1: Until then, to the loom, motherfuckers that was an unspoiled
- 59:16Speaker 1: network past
