- 0:19Hello and welcome to episode 90 of the All Systems Go sports
- 0:24Betting podcast powered by Rhythm.
- 0:27I'm your host, Josh Applebaum. How's it going, everybody?
- 0:34Happy Monday, a new week begins. And how's everyone's weekend?
- 0:38I know you had a good weekend. You know why?
- 0:40No, it wasn't just because I, you know, got to meet up and
- 0:43hopefully you did, too with some friends, maybe a grilling or
- 0:46cookout or having a nice enjoyable time in a backyard
- 0:49somewhere. But more importantly, how about
- 0:51another winner in the UFC biting, extending our winning
- 0:55streak to eight straight because our guy Joel Alvarez getting it
- 1:01absolutely done for the team. And again, guys eight straight.
- 1:05We've been using the same exact model from start to finish.
- 1:07And what is that when it comes to UFC?
- 1:09Younger, taller, longer reach, line move, low bets, higher
- 1:14dollars, bet split. That is our model.
- 1:16And once again, it delivered a winner over the weekend.
- 1:18If you remember, Alvarez was only getting 45% of bets, but
- 1:2268% of money. He had a good reverse line move,
- 1:25getting less than half the tickets would move -140 up to
- 1:28-160. So we had the low bets, higher
- 1:30dollars, we had the line move. Now he wasn't younger, but he
- 1:34was taller, 6 two against 58. If you saw that bout, you
- 1:37definitely saw a big height advantage and a reach advantage,
- 1:4177 inches versus 72.5 inches. Also, he's the better defender,
- 1:45only absorbing 3 point 373.37 significant strikes per minute
- 1:50versus 4.8 two for his opponent. So I was at my friend's house.
- 1:54As I told you guys, we had a big cookout and I was like, hey,
- 1:56come outside, come outside. We got cornhole, we got drinks,
- 1:59we're grilling, chilling and thrilling.
- 2:00And I said no, we got to stay indoors AC and watch the one
- 2:04bout that I care most about Alvarez.
- 2:06So I had all my buddies, the wives, the girlfriends, dogs,
- 2:09babies, everyone was going nuts for biting.
- 2:12And we all cashed on Alvarez, even including a couple people
- 2:15who never bet. And I showed them how to bet and
- 2:17they they want a few extra bones there.
- 2:19So shout out to our guy Alvarez for extending our UFC winning
- 2:23streak to eight straight. Now that being said, guys,
- 2:26Alvarez and UFC in the rear mirror, rearview mirror.
- 2:29I will tell you I'm already excited about the UFC bout next
- 2:33Saturday, which is Ty Burrow versus Spivak 2.
- 2:36And I'm already seen some early line moves.
- 2:37But as you know, stick to the model.
- 2:39Let's wait until Friday to get that batch of data and make our
- 2:41ultimate decisions. That being said, though, we got
- 2:44some sweats to talk about for today.
- 2:45Now today it's going to be all Major League Baseball.
- 2:48Maybe a little bit shorter than usual podcast.
- 2:50I only found three sharp bets here to share with you guys.
- 2:53Didn't want to force too much. Also, you know, we do have a
- 2:57smaller than usual slate, only nine games overall.
- 2:59But of course, we're fearless with discipline.
- 3:02We see a system match, low bets, higher dollars line move system
- 3:05plays. We're going to play it.
- 3:06So I'm excited to share with you a three pack today and Major
- 3:09League Baseball hopefully get our Monday off started off right
- 3:13on the right foot this for this first official week in August.
- 3:17Now 3 pack, it'll be two dogs hoping they can bark or at least
- 3:20get one of them and go one and one with a profit there because
- 3:23of the plus money. And then also a favorite.
- 3:25And you may know who it is, you may or may not, but we're going
- 3:27to bet against a team that has lost twenty straight.
- 3:31Anyway, guys, let's dive right in.
- 3:32Three pack here today. And as always, realistic
- 3:34expectations. The goal is to go two and one
- 3:37and eek out a profit. So first one on the board here
- 3:39that I'm excited to share with you.
- 3:41Let's go to a 6:40 PM Eastern Time.
- 3:43First pitch. This is going to be an
- 3:44interleague matchup between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the
- 3:48Cleveland Guardians. Now going to this one, the
- 3:50Diamondbacks are 60 and 52. Boy, have they turned it on as
- 3:54of late, as you guys may or may not know.
- 3:56Or maybe you're sweating with me.
- 3:57Over 83 1/2 wins for Arizona. We're starting to look good in
- 4:00this win total, so let's keep it up.
- 4:02But not today. I'm hoping Arizona loses.
- 4:04I'm going to Cleveland here with some plus money, but some
- 4:07background here. The D backs, they just took two
- 4:08or three against the Pirates. They beat Skeens yesterday, six
- 4:11to five as a + 140 row dog. You know, the Guardians 67 and
- 4:1644. They just split A4 game series
- 4:18against the OS. They won the 1st 2:00 and then
- 4:20lost the last two. They lost nine to five yesterday
- 4:23as a + 115 home dog. So pitching match up here for
- 4:26the interleague series opener. We have the D backs going with
- 4:29ready Zach Gallon. He's nine and five with a 3.56
- 4:33ERA. He'll be opposed by guardian
- 4:35starter lefty Logan Allen Eaton four 5.67 ERA.
- 4:39So what we've seen across the market here, well, this game
- 4:42opened Diamondbacks listed around a -, 125 even as high as
- 4:46a -, 130 Rd. favorite. And the public is right down the
- 4:50middle. They don't know what to do.
- 4:51They see, you know, Cleveland at home, really good team getting
- 4:54plus money. They also see Arizona with, you
- 4:57know, on paper, the better pitcher laying a pretty short
- 4:59number here. Arizona's hot.
- 5:01So right down the middle, public split.
- 5:03Don't know where to go. 50% of money line bets in Arizona, 50%
- 5:06of money line bets on Cleveland. Now, what's one thing that I've
- 5:09taught you guys when it comes to what we call quote UN quote, the
- 5:125050 line moves, It's that in a vacuum, when you see a ticket
- 5:16split, a bet split, that's 5050 down the middle.
- 5:19Theoretically, in a vacuum, a line shouldn't move at all.
- 5:21Actions even. There's no reason for the odds
- 5:23makers to adjust the line up or down.
- 5:25Pretty much leave it right where it's at, because that's what
- 5:28they want, balanced action, right?
- 5:29Then they can just rake in the juice.
- 5:31Well, that's not always the case.
- 5:32You know, odds makers are willing to have unbalanced
- 5:35action if they know they're on the sharp side of every bet.
- 5:36That's a whole whole other story.
- 5:39But anyway, 5050 bet split line hasn't moved, right?
- 5:42No, it actually has moved. It's moved away from Arizona and
- 5:45toward Cleveland. We've seen Arizona fall -125
- 5:48down to -120 we've seen Cleveland move from around or
- 5:52they getting plus 110. Now they're down some shops down
- 5:55to plus one O 5. So again, vacuum line shouldn't
- 5:59move at all yet it is moving toward Cleveland.
- 6:00That tells me you have a little bit of smart money revealing
- 6:03it's hand here on the Guardians. Guardians kind of in a buy low
- 6:06spot having lost two straight at home.
- 6:08Arizona is in the midst of a long roads road trip here.
- 6:11So hopefully there's kind of a schedule advantage maybe in
- 6:14favor of a bounce back spot for Cleveland.
- 6:16But anyway, another angle here is a good low bets, higher
- 6:19dollars bets split. Cleveland's only getting around
- 6:2150% of bets, but they're getting nearly 60% of dollars.
- 6:24So good low bets, higher dollars bets split.
- 6:27Also the guardians, some good correlative betting.
- 6:29This total is 8 1/2. That's kind of right line of
- 6:32demarcation high total 8 1/2 or more low total 8 or less, but a
- 6:36high total on a dog. Good thing.
- 6:38More expected runs scored, more variants, more upset
- 6:40opportunities. I believe this total actually
- 6:42ticked up cuz some shops were at 8:00 and went update now.
- 6:45So basically the line is moving upward with a total and the
- 6:48line's moving toward the dog. You know that's a good sign
- 6:51there. That basically is telling you an
- 6:52advantage to maybe a closer game with more run scoring.
- 6:56Remember, you flip it the other way.
- 6:57If you're on a favorite, you want the line to move toward the
- 6:59favorite and the total to drop because fewer amount of expected
- 7:02run scored, more likely to come from quote UN quote that better
- 7:04team. So this total going up with the
- 7:07line moving toward the dog, Cleveland, that's some good
- 7:09correlative betting value there also.
- 7:11Cleveland, man, they're just so good at home.
- 7:13Knock on wood, but Cleveland is 35 and 17 at home.
- 7:17That's the best home record of baseball.
- 7:19And Zach Gallon, good pitcher here, good numbers overall, nine
- 7:22and five, 3.56 ERA. But he has struggled a bit.
- 7:25Zach Gallon has posted a 5.1 O ERA in 6th July starts.
- 7:30He has an ERA of four on the road versus 3.28 at home.
- 7:34And Logan Allen, he's actually making his return from spending
- 7:38about a month in AAA where he was two and O with a 3.86 ERA.
- 7:42So kind of the lack of familiarity, hopefully maybe
- 7:45Arizona hasn't really seen Logan Allen too much.
- 7:47He's been in the minors. Maybe that's an advantage here.
- 7:50Bit of a surprise in terms of Arizona bats not being used to
- 7:53facing him. But moral of the story here,
- 7:55guys, is we got a 5050 bet split, but lines dipping toward
- 7:58Cleveland and they're matching a couple systems here that we
- 8:00like. Qualitative betting, Good, good
- 8:02team at home. Gallon struggled a bit.
- 8:04I'm going to root for Cleveland here to get back on track after
- 8:07losing two straight. I'm going with the Guardians
- 8:10shop around. I got the guardians at plus
- 8:111-10. Maybe the best you can find
- 8:13right now is around a plus one O 5 + 1 O 7.
- 8:16But again, shop around have multiple outs get as much plus
- 8:18money as you can let's split down the middle.
- 8:20It's called a plus one O 5. You should be able to find that
- 8:23number on the guardians keep on cruising.
- 8:26Second dog bed of the night. I'm a Red Sox fan.
- 8:29I'm sweating the Sox as a dog tonight, not because they're my
- 8:32favorite team. Again, if you've learned
- 8:34anything from the All Systems Go pod, it's that you never want to
- 8:37bet based on gut instinct or bias.
- 8:39You want to bet based on what the market is telling you.
- 8:42But every now and again, when the market happens to be sharp
- 8:45in favor of your favorite team, then I feel OK to sweat my
- 8:47favorite team. Sox are sharp tonight.
- 8:49I'm going with the Sox tonight. Now, let's set the stage here.
- 8:52This is a big matchup because the Red Sox in Kansas City are
- 8:54fighting for the last wild card spot.
- 8:56I believe the Sox are two games back.
- 8:58Red Sox come in 59 and 51 just took two or three against the
- 9:02Rangers. They won yesterday's series
- 9:04finale 7:00 to 2:00 as a plus one O 5 row dog.
- 9:07Meanwhile, the Royals 63 and 50, they just took 2-3 or four
- 9:11actually against the Tigers. They won yesterday three to two
- 9:14as a -, 130 Rd. favorite. So pitching match up here for
- 9:18tonight, Red Sox are going with going with the recently
- 9:20reacquired lefty James Paxton. He's eight and three with a 4.52
- 9:25ERA. He'll be opposed by the righty
- 9:27Brady Singer, who's eight and six with a 2.88 ERA.
- 9:31So what have we seen across the market here?
- 9:32Well, kind of similar to the game we just talked about, you
- 9:35know, open favorite line moving toward dog.
- 9:37Same thing here. Open favorite.
- 9:39Kansas City as high as a -, 135 -, 140 Rd. favorite.
- 9:44Now Kansas City is down to -135 -, 130.
- 9:48So we've seen about $0.10, even $0.15 at some shops Movement
- 9:52away from Kansas City toward Boston.
- 9:55Boston getting opening as high as plus 125.
- 9:57Now Boston's down to plus 115. Some shops even a little lower,
- 10:01closer to plus 110. But why is that movement
- 10:03notable? No, it's not a 5050 split.
- 10:05It's just a classic reverse line move because we have the Kansas
- 10:09City Royals. You would think Red Sox big
- 10:11market club, right? Kansas City, little engine that
- 10:13could public will say, hey, take Boston, you know, with plus
- 10:17money here. But I think what's super
- 10:19important is that you don't always want to assume where the
- 10:21public is. You got to always trust, but
- 10:23verify. We had a President Ronald Reagan
- 10:26once say trust but verify when it came to making sure that the
- 10:29Russians didn't have too many nuclear weapons.
- 10:31You can take their word for it, but you got to verify it.
- 10:34So my whole point being is that don't just assume Boston's a
- 10:37trendy dog because they're the big, big bad Red Sox on Kansas
- 10:40City's a small market club. No, the betting percentages will
- 10:43always let you verify where the public is at.
- 10:46So right now, the public play is actually Kansas City backing
- 10:50Bobby Whit Junior at home. So Kansas City is getting 63% of
- 10:54money line bets, yet the lines falling away from them -140 down
- 10:58to, you know -130 -, 1 -, 135 -, 130.
- 11:02So that tells me we got RLM in favor of Boston.
- 11:05Boston has a really good bet split.
- 11:06They're only getting 37% of money line bets, but 59% of
- 11:11money line dollars. So good sharp contrarian, low
- 11:14bets, higher dollar split. Now Red Sox have some good
- 11:16correlative betting as well. Dog high total total in this
- 11:19game is 10. So even more expected run
- 11:21scored, more variants, more upset opportunities helping
- 11:24Boston Red Sox have the better bats.
- 11:27They're hitting 262 with 140 homers compared to the Royals
- 11:30hitting 253 with 121 homers. And the Red Sox have been good
- 11:35as a dog. They're 27 and 26 as a dog may
- 11:38not seem amazing. Now that's 51%.
- 11:40You're up 12% ROI just by taking the Red Sox as a dog.
- 11:44They're the 6th best dog team in baseball.
- 11:47So Publix on Kansas City, but Kansas City's dipping a little
- 11:50bit line. Excuse me, is going to Boston.
- 11:53I'm going Red Sox here with a little bit of plus money.
- 11:55I got the Sox at plus 1/15. And I'll give you a little
- 11:59cherry on top, a little sweetener here.
- 12:00I happen to open up my Juice Reel app, which I do every
- 12:04morning, looking at what Juice Reels got for me for arbitrage
- 12:06bets, sharp mush opportunities. And then I wait at noon, noon
- 12:10Eastern Time, when Robo Jackson, the hardest working AI bot,
- 12:13submits his two best bets each day.
- 12:15And guess what? One of the two is on the Sox.
- 12:18So Robo Jackson and the AI model likes Boston, and so do we.
- 12:22So again, cherry on top here, that Juice Reel is on our side.
- 12:25But give me the Sox be a nice hit at plus 115.
- 12:28Let's go Boston, last bit of the night, Chicago White Sox and the
- 12:33Oakland A's. Now, are you guys aware of
- 12:36what's going on with the Chicago White Sox?
- 12:37I'm sure you are, but man, they are bad.
- 12:40They're bad News Bears bad. They're 27 and 8760 games below
- 12:45500. Unbelievable.
- 12:47They've lost twenty straight. They're they're closing in on
- 12:49the record, I think of 23 straight losses.
- 12:52But they just got swept by the Twins.
- 12:53They lost thirteen to seven yesterday as a + 260 row dog.
- 12:57Meanwhile, the A's, 46 and 67 dropped two or three against the
- 13:01Dodgers. They lost three to two yesterday
- 13:03as a + 125 home dog for the series opener tonight, the
- 13:06Athletics are going to go with the lefty JP Sears.
- 13:09And on the flip side, the White Sox have not announced their
- 13:12starter. And that's kind of an
- 13:14interesting part of the handicap here.
- 13:15Let me just double check if they have announced the starter.
- 13:19Let me see. Nope, still undecided.
- 13:23I saw a report that it might be Bush, although again, it hasn't
- 13:27been confirmed. But what's suitable to me is
- 13:29that even though the White Sox, they don't haven't announced
- 13:32their starter, that hasn't mattered.
- 13:35Wise guys are saying, we don't care who starts for the White
- 13:38Sox. We want to fade Chicago.
- 13:40Now, Chicago, of course, is going to be a team that we're
- 13:41going to look to bet against throughout the end of the year.
- 13:44But you got to remember, sometimes, you know, the team
- 13:47playing the White Sox is -300 you know, with with no value
- 13:51here. This one's high, but I think
- 13:53there's still value. So if you look at the way this
- 13:55line is moved, we open with Oakland around a -, 165.
- 13:59Home favorite. Oakland is now up to -175 -, 180
- 14:04and some books even closer to -190 So when I wrote about this
- 14:07game for the Sharp report that I write for visen.com, which you
- 14:10can always check for my Twitter feed, I'll put it out around
- 14:13noon or 1:00 Eastern Time at Josh under score Insights.
- 14:16But I was highlighting Oakland at -175 That's the number that I
- 14:19got. Again, you're as high as -190 at
- 14:22some shops. I'm still laying it again, the
- 14:24fact that wise guys don't know who's starting for Chicago yet,
- 14:27they're hammering Oakland tells you this is just a straight fade
- 14:30of Chicago play. Now the A's, they're getting 84%
- 14:33of bets, nearly 90% of money. So pro and Joe Betsplit Publix
- 14:37probably just saying, hey, fade White Sox rest of the year.
- 14:40Whereas wise guys said, hey, based on that opening number,
- 14:43there was some good value. Maybe they had this thing closer
- 14:45to a -, 181 -, 190 game to begin with.
- 14:49If you also look at the offense here, Oakland is hitting 231
- 14:54with 146 home runs and 462 runs scored.
- 14:58Chicago's only hitting 217 with 96 homers and 352 runs scored.
- 15:03Oakland has that classic non division favorite value.
- 15:06So the lack of familiarity benefiting quote UN quote the
- 15:08better team. The White Sox, by the way, 10
- 15:11and 1710 and 47 on the road, by far the worst Rd. record in
- 15:16baseball. And if you've been fading the
- 15:18White Sox all year, you're cashing around 76% of the time
- 15:21with a 20% ROI. And also lefties.
- 15:25When lefties are on the bump, White Sox struggle offensively.
- 15:27They struggle against everybody, but they're only hitting 228
- 15:30against lefties. That's 28th in baseball in the
- 15:33Athletics, Meanwhile, it went four and one in JP Sears five
- 15:36starts in July and he had an ERA of three-point O 7.
- 15:39So he's pitched pretty well. So again, what's so telling to
- 15:42me is we don't even know as of right now early afternoon who
- 15:45Chicago's throwing yet wise guys don't care.
- 15:47They're hammering Oakland. So remember, if you want to bet
- 15:50this game with me and ride Oakland, you're probably going
- 15:53to go action or you can go listed pitcher just for Oakland,
- 15:57but action will allow you to bet this one without knowing or
- 16:00caring what happens with the White Sox starting pitcher.
- 16:03So Long story short, guys, I'm going to Oakland operation fade
- 16:06White Sox fully underway. Give me the A's.
- 16:09I got them at -175. Now you're looking a little
- 16:11closer to -180 even -190 but there you have it guys.
- 16:15Cleveland and Boston some plus money dogs and Oakland laying it
- 16:20here tonight. Let's get 2 out of 3 eke out a
- 16:22winning night. Now that about does it for
- 16:24episode 90 of the All systems Go sports betting podcast powered
- 16:28by rhythm. This is the part of the pod
- 16:30where I asked something of you, can you make my day?
- 16:32Can you make me happy? Can you guys do me a favor?
- 16:35If you're listening to the pod and you enjoy it, can you please
- 16:38give it a 5 star review? Whether you're listening on
- 16:41iTunes or Spotify should be an option there to rate and review.
- 16:44Boom, five stars. It would really, really go a
- 16:46long way to helping me grow this podcast, rise up the ranks for
- 16:50the charts, get some more eyeballs if you'd like to
- 16:53recommend this pod to a friend. Word of mouth is always the most
- 16:56important way to get someone into something because someone
- 16:58you respect, you get that. That boat of boat of, I don't
- 17:02know, boat of confidence from them.
- 17:04But again, five star view would mean a lot.
- 17:06Also, if there's an option to follow the pod, it might be a
- 17:09follow button where you can get alerted as soon as it drops the
- 17:12new one each day. That would be great if you click
- 17:13that as well. Secondly, if you enjoy these
- 17:17breakdowns because maybe you, you know, were data minded prior
- 17:21to this, or maybe you bet on sports and you had no blueprint
- 17:24and now you're saying, hey, I kind of like this style.
- 17:26We're going based on the market or get we're betting against the
- 17:29public. We're looking for smart money.
- 17:31We're playing betting systems, we're looking at betting splits.
- 17:33If this style of betting has spoken to you, appealed to you
- 17:37and you want to learn more about how to be the best and sharpest
- 17:40data-driven better you can be, well, guess what?
- 17:42I wrote a book, go buy my book, support the team, learn more
- 17:45about data-driven betting. Not just make me happy, but
- 17:48you're going to learn something and your end as well.
- 17:51Or we can gift it to a friend or a colleague or somebody who
- 17:54loves betting on sports and doesn't really win too much, has
- 17:57no bankroll management plan. That's all favorites, parlays,
- 18:00everything. Guess what?

- 20:44Or Billy Walter sends his number runners where the lowest shoes
- 20:47possible, so at the South Point. Or sweat and sharp contrarian
