- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:38Hi, it's Adam here. And in this hypnosis session,
- 0:41you're going to hear a metaphor. Which I love.
- 0:43Which is. Called the control room of the
- 0:45mind and I was working with a client that had a very what felt
- 0:53like serious meeting and it was going to be them.
- 0:57Presenting in front. Of a panel of of people that
- 1:01were quite influential within their workplace, but they wanted
- 1:04to feel very confident, they wanted to feel very credible.
- 1:08They wanted to. Feel like an expert and they
- 1:10wanted to have a tone not of being inferior or superior, but.
- 1:16That of a. Teacher of educating.
- 1:18To people that didn't fully understand.
- 1:21This thing that they were very knowledgeable on, it also has an
- 1:26anchors like slowing down the breathing to reduce heart rate
- 1:30or thinking of how they want their tempo, their speed of
- 1:36voice to be. So there's a few things going on
- 1:39here, but at its core, it takes resources from the past and then
- 1:44projects them into the future. Disassociated at first and then
- 1:48associated to really wire in those neural pathways so that
- 1:52when they're in that situation, they trigger these resources.
- 1:55That would be very helpful. It was created for an
- 1:58individual. Maybe the resources that you
- 2:01want aren't confidence and credibility.
- 2:03Maybe you want creativity and passion or something else, in
- 2:08which case I would encourage you to think of different memories,
- 2:12go back to those and then harness them.
- 2:14Or there will be a link in the descripcion where you can
- 2:17schedule a free consultation call to Exlore working with me.
- 2:20And then I can just. Help you to create this session
- 2:23in real life. Plus, you would get a recording
- 2:25based around whatever resources you want more of in whatever
- 2:29circumstance that you would want you know who.
- 2:33Wouldn't want more. Fun, more passion, more
- 2:35creativity, or more resourcefulness.
- 2:37The ability to solve problems or be more productive, that's
- 2:41what's possible with this particular metaphor, and it's
- 2:44not magic what we're. Doing is we're.
- 2:46Harnessing resource states from the past and then associating
- 2:50into them, repriming them and then linking them, triggering
- 2:54them like a post hypnotic suggestion to the very context
- 2:57that they would be most useful. If you are interested in working
- 3:01with me, check out that link in the description.
- 3:03For now, though, find a quiet, comfortable place where you
- 3:06won't be. Disturbed.
- 3:08Relax. And enjoy the session.
- 3:28Take a deep breath in and as you breathe.
- 3:34In. Breathe in that feeling of calm
- 3:37relaxation, and as you exhale, feel a wonderful feeling of
- 3:47release, as if any tension worries any of that anticipatory
- 3:55fear seems to dissolve. And dilute.
- 4:00Feel it leaving your body in your outward breath as each
- 4:06breath takes you deeper. And.
- 4:11Deeper, relaxed and just set the intention to loosen your jaw.
- 4:22Just imagine that muscle there around the jaw, letting go of
- 4:31any tension, and as the jaw loosens, your breathing slows
- 4:38down even more as you start to appreciate the rhythm of your
- 4:47own body. Your heartbeat has a rhythm,
- 4:53Your breathing has a rhythm. Even your brain waves have a
- 5:00rhythm. And as you breathe in and
- 5:03breathe out, just imagine collectively these rhythms start
- 5:10to slow, Incrementally, gradually, steadily.
- 5:17But they do. And as they do, I want you to
- 5:22feel that the outward breath gets longer than the inward
- 5:26breath, breathing out for longer, as it really feels that
- 5:34there's a dial in your mind from being on high alert to being
- 5:41very relaxed. And it's just moving that way to
- 5:45being very relaxed. And as your body relaxes, your
- 5:52imagination awakens. And I want you to imagine a
- 6:00forest. Maybe a forest you've been to
- 6:05many times, or maybe a forest that you've only ever read about
- 6:10in a book, and yet you imagined it anyway.
- 6:16Just imagine you're in that forest, wearing whatever
- 6:21clothing is appropriate to be in that place, and I want you to
- 6:27feel stealthy, quiet, but equally with high sensory
- 6:35acuity. You could notice a sound, a
- 6:40breeze, the sound of a bird or a branch breaking, and just
- 6:52imagine feeling that you're in that place, and in that place
- 6:59you feel calm, you feel relaxed. And I want you to imagine
- 7:08discovering an old building there in that forest,
- 7:18dilapidated, perhaps leaks in the roof, and yet the door is
- 7:26steady and strong. And just imagine standing in
- 7:32front of that door, and as I count from 5:00 to 1:00, you
- 7:40will imagine opening the door and walking through.
- 7:45But instead of finding the interior of that derelict
- 7:51building, you will imagine something much more modern,
- 7:58something which is a hybrid of a small cinema room and a control
- 8:10panel with gauges, dials, dashboards.
- 8:16But for now, you're outside in the forest, standing in front of
- 8:19a door, five hand there on the handle, 4 turning the handle,
- 8:26three pulling the door open, 2 walking through the door, and
- 8:31one closing the door behind you. And notice you're in that
- 8:37control room. A big screen in the middle and a
- 8:43big control panel. Lots of gauges, dashboards,
- 8:49analysis and data. Maybe it looks like the cockpit
- 8:57of an advanced helicopter or plane, or maybe it looks like
- 9:03something more mechanical. It can be futuristic or
- 9:09traditional, and I want you to get a sense that there are lots
- 9:16of things that you can change here in this place.
- 9:24But one of the things we're going to do is harness resources
- 9:28of the past. Imagine there's a comfy chair,
- 9:34almost like the chair of a captain.
- 9:38They are on the bridge of a spaceship and just imagine
- 9:43sitting in that chair and seeing on the screen a time in your
- 9:49past when you oozed expertise. You were the most knowledgeable
- 9:58person on that topic. You can see the memory and
- 10:07around on those gauges there might be clues of confidence
- 10:10levels, knowledge levels, so you know for sure that this is the
- 10:17memory where you had the highest feeling of expertise.
- 10:27I want you to notice what's different when you have that
- 10:32level of expertise. Maybe you talk slower, maybe
- 10:38there's more downward inflection, maybe there's more
- 10:42certainty in your voice, maybe your breathing's different, or
- 10:48you feel more relaxed because you know so much on that topic.
- 10:52And when you know for sure that that version of you is you with
- 10:58that expertise, let me know about nodding your head.
- 11:06And then imagine floating into the screen and into that version
- 11:10of you, occupying you when you felt with the highest level of
- 11:18expertise. Breathe that way, feel that way.
- 11:25Maybe there's a clue in your inner dialogue, A certainty, a
- 11:31feeling of I know what I'm talking about.
- 11:39I want you to think of something that you could replicate at any
- 11:44point in the future to get back to this feeling.
- 11:50Maybe it's a phrase you say in your inner dialogue.
- 11:56It's a particular posture that you hold or maybe a movement and
- 12:06just imagine doing that. And when you imagine doing it,
- 12:09then do it in reality so your body knows what to do to get
- 12:13this feeling again. And maybe this feeling has a
- 12:24location in your body, maybe your head, maybe somewhere else.
- 12:30And I want you to imagine a colour or a shape in that
- 12:36location of that feeling, Just expand it, glow it, turn up the
- 12:42brightness and feel more of that expertise.
- 12:50And when you have it, let me know by nodding your head.
- 12:56That's it. Float back to that chair, that
- 13:00captain's chair, and then let's recall a different memory, the
- 13:09time when you were teaching, but you were teaching from a place
- 13:17of understanding, not just knowledge.
- 13:22Many teachers regurgitate words that other people have written,
- 13:27but I want you to think of a time when you were teaching from
- 13:31a place of real, deep understanding.
- 13:38He knew it, and yet there was no element of being patronizing or
- 13:44condescending, no superiority. You were teaching from a place
- 13:49of really wanting someone else to understand.
- 13:53And when you can recall that memory, see it there on the
- 13:57screen, and observe the clues that when you're teaching at
- 14:05your best, there's a tonality to your voice, a facial expression
- 14:13that you hold, a posture that you occupy more often.
- 14:26Good teachers don't lecture. A good teacher is scanning the
- 14:34face for calibration, to look for the clues of confusion.
- 14:41In the moment of confusion, the neural pathways are open to
- 14:48forming new connections. And when you're certain that
- 14:54version of you has that ability to teach in an authentic,
- 15:01useful, empowering way, float into the screen, into your body,
- 15:07and feel that way. Feel that you can teach from
- 15:13that place of genuine understanding.
- 15:19And maybe notice a good teacher understands that the student
- 15:30doesn't know what they know, so they can't talk too fast.
- 15:37Because what if they take more time to understand, to feel that
- 15:42element of consideration? You're slowing your voice, not
- 15:48because you have to, but just by being considerate, giving time
- 15:56for new ideas to make sense for the person you're communicating
- 16:00to. Again, feel that feeling, see
- 16:12where it is in your body and maybe you can do something with
- 16:17your toes that anchor that feeling of teaching.
- 16:21Maybe wiggle them, maybe connect two different toes together.
- 16:27Something so unique that you can't do it by accident, but if
- 16:33you do it intentionally, you can get back to this feeling of
- 16:37teaching. And then think of that time when
- 16:42you had expertise and link them together.
- 16:46Let's compound these feelings cumulatively.
- 16:51You now have expertise and teaching, enhancing it even
- 16:56more. And when you have both, you know
- 17:00by nodding your head and then float back to that captain's
- 17:05chair and see one final memory, you at your most confident, not
- 17:17arrogance, but confidence. I want you to get a sense then.
- 17:26Arrogance quite often is fake confidence masking insecurity,
- 17:34but you're seeing a memory of genuine confidence.
- 17:42Observe that version of you. How do you breathe when you're
- 17:45confident? How relaxed are you when you're
- 17:49confident? What's your facial expression of
- 17:56posture like when you're confident like that, and then
- 18:01float into the screen, into your body and feel that way, Feel how
- 18:11good it feels to just have this evaluation that your resources
- 18:18exceeds the demands. If someone is confident in tying
- 18:24their shoelaces, it's because they've made the assessment.
- 18:29They know how to do that, so they will do it well.
- 18:34And I want you to feel that you are just as confident talking
- 18:41about something that you understand well, you feel
- 18:45knowledgeable on and happy to articulate that confidently.
- 18:53You're not seeking permission. You're not asking, you're
- 18:59educating and just feel that feeling of confidence and then
- 19:06bring back that feeling of teaching and then bring back
- 19:11that feeling of expertise all combined into one.
- 19:15And when you feel that way, let me know about nodding your head.
- 19:25That's it. Float back to the chair and then
- 19:29I want you to see see that when you see that version of you with
- 19:36all of those things, what your heart rate is on a dashboard,
- 19:42see what the number is and just know that whenever you touch
- 19:48certain texture on your wrist, you were telling your
- 19:52unconscious to get back to that heart rate.
- 20:01I want you to get a feeling that whenever you want to slow down,
- 20:09you just deliberately breathe out for a lot longer.
- 20:17And then I want you to imagine seeing on the screen yourself in
- 20:24the future with all of these qualities for an important
- 20:31meeting, but you don't turn up to that meeting apologetic, cap
- 20:39in hand, seeking permission. No, you're at that meeting well
- 20:47prepared, oozing expertise with the tonality of a wise teacher,
- 20:57brimming with confidence. And just imagine the key
- 21:04elements of how you arrive, how you're waiting, See yourself
- 21:11being invited into a room, smiling, but not that shy,
- 21:18nervous smile, A confident smile.
- 21:23There is not an element of worry there, because that version of
- 21:29you knows your resources exceeds the demands of this situation.
- 21:37You can handle it, and you will. Observe how you give the talk,
- 21:44Pay attention to the tempo, the pauses, the mannerisms and just
- 21:50get a sense. Then that version of you can do
- 21:57this easily. Imagine them asking some
- 22:03difficult questions and imagine that you've got 3 words that are
- 22:10like a get out of jail free card.
- 22:13It doesn't matter what they ask because those 3 words in essence
- 22:20give you full immunity to any issue they may bring up.
- 22:30That version of you feels invincible because what you're
- 22:35doing is within your scope of practice and you know it.
- 22:41But they might not know it, which is why you educate.
- 22:44And when you've seen it go, well, let me know by nodding
- 22:49your head, rewind. But before you step into that
- 22:57version of you just dial up the confidence, dial down the heart
- 23:02rate and just boost that sense of optimism, a feeling that
- 23:12things are going to go well. And then step into the screen,
- 23:19rewind it to the beginning and from a first person perspective,
- 23:22feel how you would feel going into that situation, oozing all
- 23:28the resources and more that are necessary.
- 23:35You have this sense that this is like using a sledgehammer to
- 23:40crack a nut. You have more resources than you
- 23:44need and you know it, which is why you can feel relaxed, feel
- 23:52comfortable, feel like an expert, feel that you can
- 23:59educate because you truly do understand.
- 24:03Feel that you have evidence that what you say is real.
- 24:06Not just your words, but someone there that can articulate,
- 24:11vouch, have irrefutable evidence that what you say is true.
- 24:18And then imagine that time coming to an end, maybe shaking
- 24:23a few hands before you leave. And you leave with a spring in
- 24:26your step, knowing that you haven't been weakened by this,
- 24:31you've been strengthened by it. Like the Lindy effect, if
- 24:38something is tested and passes the test, it is stronger for
- 24:45going through the test and when you leave, flew back into the
- 24:51chair. If all parts of your
- 24:52subconscious mind feel that you have all the resources necessary
- 24:57to meet this demand, let me know by nodding your head.
- 25:05And now it's time to leave. But just dial up one resource
- 25:12there on that control panel, which has nothing to do with
- 25:18this meeting and everything to do with just enhancing the
- 25:21quality of your life. Just dial that up to the optimal
- 25:24level, knowing it's going to help improve the quality of your
- 25:29life. And then you leave through that
- 25:33door and find yourself there in the forest, but feeling
- 25:37wonderful, feeling resourceful, feeling like you're almost
- 25:44looking forward to the test because passing the test will
- 25:49feel like a formality. And now it's time to float back
- 25:54from the forest, back to the here and now, bringing all of
- 25:59these resources, thoughts, and strategies with you.
- 26:03So take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 26:09nose. Just wiggle your fingers, wiggle
- 26:11your toes, connect and calibrate into the here and the now as I
- 26:17now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 26:21Starting to count 123 waking up 456 more alert 7-8.
- 26:28Open your eyes, open your eyes, 910.
- 26:32Wide awake, wide awake, wide awake.
