- 2:45Speaker 1: gotta do in this season. We gotta stay on that while.
- 2:47Speaker 1: We gotta stay on that while. So with that being said, y'all,
- 2:52Speaker 1: today it's day four of the twenty one day Challenge.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Today is target Audience Spotlight, So finding my reader, who
- 3:03Speaker 1: I write for and why? So one of the most
- 3:07Speaker 1: powerful steps on an author's journey is understanding who you
- 3:13Speaker 1: are writing for. Today, for the twenty one day Visibility Challenge,
- 3:21Speaker 1: I'm excited to take you behind the scenes and shine
- 3:24Speaker 1: a spotlight on my idea reader in the heart and
- 3:30Speaker 1: soul inspiring every chapter of my books. So who is
- 3:37Speaker 1: my idea reader? My idea reader is someone loaning for
- 3:41Speaker 1: growth and faith and confidence and in purpose. They may
- 3:47Speaker 1: be facing life crossroads, battling self doubt, or wrestling with
- 3:52Speaker 1: questions about their identity or calling. My readers are hungry
- 3:57Speaker 1: for the truth. They want wisdom, lasting change. Whether you
- 4:03Speaker 1: are an adult a young adult or learning to stand
- 4:07Speaker 1: on your own, or if you are a parent seeking
- 4:12Speaker 1: to lead your family with strength, or if you are
- 4:15Speaker 1: a dreamer not afraid to take the next step. You
- 4:21Speaker 1: are the one I write for. You are the one
- 4:24Speaker 1: that I show up for. You are the one that
- 4:27Speaker 1: I do what I do for. Why What are some
- 4:35Speaker 1: of the things that pains you? Some of the things
- 4:42Speaker 1: that makes you want to pick up one of my
- 4:45Speaker 1: books because I write about feelings of inadequacy or not
- 4:52Speaker 1: being enough for it challenge you, and the challenge is
- 4:58Speaker 1: in front of you, to challenge you to go outside
- 5:01Speaker 1: of your box. I write for those that fear that
- 5:08Speaker 1: they're gonna fail. They have that fear of failure or
- 5:15Speaker 1: stepping out of their comfort zone. I write for those
- 5:19Speaker 1: that may feel lonely or disconnected, feelings misunderstood, are undersupported
- 5:27Speaker 1: by others. I write for those that spiritually struggle, such
- 5:34Speaker 1: as wondering where God is in their pain or how
- 5:40Speaker 1: to answer his voice. I write for those that may
- 5:44Speaker 1: feel overwhelmed, those that may be going through anxiety, those
- 5:50Speaker 1: that are trying to juggle life demands without clarity on
- 5:54Speaker 1: their next step. That's who I write for. I write
- 5:59Speaker 1: for them that may be going through some of the
- 6:02Speaker 1: very things that I suffer through and that I went through.
- 6:07Speaker 1: So if you are that person that feel inadequate, fear
- 6:13Speaker 1: of failure, loneliness, are disconnected spiritual struggling, overwhelm, and anxiety.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Guess what I write for you? I write to educate
- 6:25Speaker 1: my readers on biblical grounding principles of overcoming struggles, not
- 6:32Speaker 1: something that someone told me, but something I experience. My
- 6:35Speaker 1: books offer tangible tools, relatable stories, and hope that you
- 6:43Speaker 1: are never alone whatever challenge may come at you. What
- 6:52Speaker 1: are your dreams and interest? The readers who connect with
- 6:58Speaker 1: my books their dreamers at heart. They desire to rise
- 7:03Speaker 1: above their past, bill beyond a life ankleed in God's purpose.
- 7:11Speaker 1: They believe in growing in confidence, not just for themselves,
- 7:17Speaker 1: but so that they can help others around them as well.
- 7:23Speaker 1: My readers, they like to strengthen their relationships not only
- 7:30Speaker 1: with themselves, but with God and those around them. My
- 7:36Speaker 1: readers also like to discover and activate their gifts to
- 7:41Speaker 1: serve and to inspire. My readers are those that want
- 7:48Speaker 1: to make a difference, and they're making a difference not
- 7:54Speaker 1: only in their lives, but their family lives, their community lives,
- 7:59Speaker 1: and those that they come in contact with because they
- 8:02Speaker 1: believe that they are the change that they desire to
- 8:05Speaker 1: see in this world. See. I strive to empower these readers,
- 8:11Speaker 1: to give them not just information, but the courage to
- 8:15Speaker 1: live out their faith boldly and authentically. My content is
- 8:21Speaker 1: designed to spark huh that aha moment and offer a
- 8:27Speaker 1: soulful encouragement and provide the twols needed to transform not
- 8:33Speaker 1: just your life but dreams in to reality. Guess what
- 8:40Speaker 1: I encourage my readers. Here's what I want you to know.
- 8:45Speaker 1: As my reader, you are seen, you are valuable, and
- 8:51Speaker 1: guess what your story matters too. Your dreams matter deeply,
- 8:58Speaker 1: not only to me as an author, but to God
- 9:01Speaker 1: who created you. The journey may be messy, and the
- 9:06Speaker 1: questions may be a lot, and they may feel big,
- 9:10Speaker 1: they may be small. But with each page, I hope
- 9:16Speaker 1: that you since a guid in hand, a cheerleader in
- 9:21Speaker 1: your corner that's gently challenging you to become the best
- 9:26Speaker 1: version of you. As you slip through these pages, I
- 9:32Speaker 1: hope that you are encouraged, that you're educated, and you're empowered.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Whether you just picked up my book or have been
- 9:45Speaker 1: following me on this journey for not sure how many years,
- 9:51Speaker 1: since about twenty twelve, so what thirteen years? I'm honored
- 9:58Speaker 1: to walk beside you and with you, and my prayers
- 10:02Speaker 1: is that every story, every scripture, and every encouragement will
- 10:10Speaker 1: help you move forward, braver, wiser, and more inspired to
- 10:18Speaker 1: live your God given purpose. Y'all, we all got purpose.
- 10:23Speaker 1: We didn't get dropped here. We got strategically placed here
- 10:26Speaker 1: according to the word. It's not an accident, but not
- 10:30Speaker 1: a coincident. You're here by design, You're here by purpose.
- 10:35Speaker 1: So I want to thank you for being an inspiration
- 10:40Speaker 1: behind every word that I've ever written. Together, Let's keep growing,
- 10:48Speaker 1: Let's keep educating ourselves, our minds, our souls, and our
- 10:52Speaker 1: hearts that we may be empowered and that our hearts
- 10:57Speaker 1: may be empowered and coouraging to our souls and to
- 11:03Speaker 1: those that are around us. I thank you, I thank you,
- 11:08Speaker 1: I thank you, I thank you. I told y'all I
- 11:11Speaker 1: wasn't gonna be before y'all loan. And it don't take
- 11:14Speaker 1: a lot. I just want to be obedient to what
- 11:18Speaker 1: has been charged me, and it's been charged to do
- 11:21Speaker 1: this challenge. So it's not about holidays, because a lot
- 11:24Speaker 1: of holidays that we celebrate we shouldn't even be celebrating anyway,
- 11:28Speaker 1: because if we really go back and we think about it.
- 11:31Speaker 1: We weren't even free when they talk about Fourth of
- 11:34Speaker 1: July and they can say we can we crying because
- 11:39Speaker 1: it's over and done with. We've been celebrating. Okay, well,
- 11:41Speaker 1: continue to celebrate. I'm not telling nobody what they do.
- 11:44Speaker 1: I'm just telling you what I do. I'm working, I'm
- 11:47Speaker 1: doing what I'm I'm yet doing. I want to yet
- 11:50Speaker 1: get my brand out there. I want to yet show
- 11:52Speaker 1: off my books. I wanna yet show you guys, what
- 11:56Speaker 1: I'm doing and how I am trying to impact. Because
- 12:01Speaker 1: at the end of the day, y'all, it's about what
- 12:03Speaker 1: legacy we leave for ourselves, because as we see, people
- 12:09Speaker 1: will twitch and twtch and switch things and add to
- 12:13Speaker 1: it and take away. But what are you leaving. What
- 12:15Speaker 1: evidence are you leaving about your journey, about who you
- 12:20Speaker 1: are and what you're staying for. Y'all better put it
- 12:22Speaker 1: in some books. Y'all. Better put it on some ebooks. Y'all,
- 12:26Speaker 1: better put it in some archives. Y'all better put it
- 12:29Speaker 1: on some podcasts. Y'all better put it somewhere. But people
- 12:31Speaker 1: can hear you. Don't just allow people to tell you
- 12:34Speaker 1: who you are and what you are, but you show
- 12:37Speaker 1: them and you show them by the evidence that you
- 12:40Speaker 1: leave behind. Y'all. God gave me a voice, and not
- 12:45Speaker 1: only did he give me a voice, but he gave
- 12:47Speaker 1: me a mandate. And my mandad is to allow other
- 12:50Speaker 1: people to be able to be a voice and to
- 12:52Speaker 1: allow them to be able to share. Y'all. It's nothing
- 12:54Speaker 1: that I come on here and do, but it's something
- 12:56Speaker 1: that God has allowed me to do. And He allowed
- 12:58Speaker 1: me to do it through books, me to do it
- 13:00Speaker 1: through anathology. He allowed me to do it through the
- 13:03Speaker 1: things that I do. With all of the platforms that
- 13:06Speaker 1: I have, I don't just have one individual person come
- 13:11Speaker 1: on the different platforms that I'm on. I like to
- 13:14Speaker 1: bring individuals. I like to bring a panel of people
- 13:19Speaker 1: on to give people a different perspective, because everybody that's
- 13:22Speaker 1: on there, they may not feel the same way. They
- 13:24Speaker 1: may have different they may have a different outlook, they
- 13:28Speaker 1: may have something different, they may have went through it different,
- 13:30Speaker 1: and they may have a different perspective. So we got
- 13:32Speaker 1: to be able to look at different perspectives. See, we
- 13:35Speaker 1: got to get to a point to where we're able
- 13:38Speaker 1: to disagree but still agree to disagree. It's okay, It's okay.
- 13:45Speaker 1: To not get along. It's not being ARGUMENTI or being
- 13:50Speaker 1: disruptive with it. But it's okay to not agree with
- 13:53Speaker 1: everything that somebody say because you our glasses, so I
- 13:58Speaker 1: may see something different than that you may not see.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Or you may see something different that I didn't see
- 14:02Speaker 1: because I got these glasses on. So because I didn't
- 14:06Speaker 1: see that don't mean that I still don't feel the
- 14:08Speaker 1: way I feel or I don't see what you see.
- 14:12Speaker 1: I just may see it a little different. And we
- 14:14Speaker 1: got to understand that it's okay to feel that way,
- 14:19Speaker 1: but because we feel that way, that does not mean
- 14:21Speaker 1: that we have to tear somebody down or discredit other
- 14:24Speaker 1: people because they slightly feel different than we feel. Some
- 14:27Speaker 1: people may have reserve, and they may have that reason
- 14:30Speaker 1: for having reserves, but because they have that reserve does
- 14:33Speaker 1: not mean that they're wrong for having that reserve. Let
- 14:37Speaker 1: them feel how they feel, but that does not stop
- 14:41Speaker 1: you from feeling how you feel and you wanted to
- 14:43Speaker 1: act on what you have. Sometimes we got to learn
- 14:45Speaker 1: how to separate ourselves from people that just don't. If
- 14:49Speaker 1: they don't feel the way you feel, and you feel
- 14:50Speaker 1: highly that way, then sometimes you got to go over
- 14:53Speaker 1: there with the people that feel the way that you feel,
- 14:55Speaker 1: and then that way you can express yourself more. And
- 14:58Speaker 1: sometimes you may not be able to express yourself right here,
- 15:01Speaker 1: because let me tell you something. See people first, they
- 15:04Speaker 1: people always quick to say that as a a person
- 15:12Speaker 1: of color, that we are loud, we have attitudes, we
- 15:18Speaker 1: we don't what are some more of the stereotypes, the
- 15:24Speaker 1: stigmas that they like to place on us loud. We
- 15:29Speaker 1: argument if we don't want to listen, we need to
- 15:34Speaker 1: get over. I've been hearing lately that we need to
- 15:38Speaker 1: get over. We need to get over what like they say,
- 15:41Speaker 1: we need to get over? What do we need to
- 15:43Speaker 1: get over? And you know, and then they love to
- 15:46Speaker 1: say that we need to go back to Africa. And
- 15:51Speaker 1: there's a video and said, I'm not gonna give out
- 15:53Speaker 1: no statistics because I was on the platform other day
- 15:56Speaker 1: and someone told me I was giving out the wrong statistics.
- 15:58Speaker 1: So I'm not giving out no numbers. I'm gonna stop
- 16:00Speaker 1: giving out numbers and just give out what I know
- 16:03Speaker 1: and just have people to go look for themselves so
- 16:05Speaker 1: they can find out for themselves. Because I know what
- 16:08Speaker 1: I need to know. I know enough to know that
- 16:11Speaker 1: I got to be a voice for myself that I
- 16:13Speaker 1: can't allow people to talk for me. I can't allow
- 16:16Speaker 1: people to put their narratives out there. That I gotta
- 16:19Speaker 1: be able to be able to present my narrative. I
- 16:21Speaker 1: gotta be able to share that you know I want
- 16:25Speaker 1: to come for and we gotta learn how to go
- 16:28Speaker 1: look for some stuff because a lot of us we
- 16:30Speaker 1: want to listen to what everybody's saying, and sometimes what
- 16:33Speaker 1: everybody's saying may not be what you need to be hearing,
- 16:39Speaker 1: and everybody not gonna receive everything at the same time. See,
- 16:42Speaker 1: sometimes it takes people to go through a whole bunch
- 16:46Speaker 1: of stuff before they realize that the truth been right
- 16:49Speaker 1: there knocking that they dove and in their face, been
- 16:51Speaker 1: snapping them on their cheeks, before they realize that, hey,
- 16:56Speaker 1: they are right. Let me listen to them, let me
- 16:59Speaker 1: listen to their side, let me finally just humble myself.
- 17:03Speaker 1: But see, some people will never get that place with them.
- 17:08Speaker 1: So when they ask will there always be racism, Yes,
- 17:11Speaker 1: there will always be racism, and we are saying it
- 17:17Speaker 1: now more than ever a target audience because it goes
- 17:27Speaker 1: back to if they would just pick up a couple
- 17:30Speaker 1: of these books, if they would just pick up some
- 17:32Speaker 1: of our literature and read some of our literature, and
- 17:35Speaker 1: just read some of it. You know, it's about rising
- 17:39Speaker 1: above the past and building towards something anchored in God's purpose.
- 17:43Speaker 1: A lot of people don't even have God in their
- 17:45Speaker 1: life because you read if you have God in your
- 17:47Speaker 1: life and you read the word, it's they love thy
- 17:49Speaker 1: brother and sister as I love thy neighbor. But we're
- 17:52Speaker 1: supposed to love our brothers and as we love ourselves,
- 17:57Speaker 1: and a lot of us don't even We don't even
- 17:59Speaker 1: love ourselves, so we can't even love our neighbors yet,
- 18:03Speaker 1: along our brothers and our sisters. So we wondering if
- 18:08Speaker 1: we're ever gonna be able to rise above our past?
- 18:14Speaker 1: Are we ever gonna be able to rise above our past?
- 18:16Speaker 1: People don't understand that, you know, until we deal with
- 18:19Speaker 1: a lot of the trauma that a lot of people
- 18:21Speaker 1: keep getting passed down generation to generation because it never
- 18:24Speaker 1: been dealt with the first time. See, people don't understand
- 18:27Speaker 1: that when you carrying a child and you go through stuff,
- 18:31Speaker 1: there's such thing as your baby being born with those
- 18:35Speaker 1: same things that you carried while you was carrying that child.
- 18:40Speaker 1: If you was depressed. Your child can be born depressed.
- 18:43Speaker 1: It's been proven, medically, been proven, scientifically, been proven. It's
- 18:48Speaker 1: been proven. I got documentations that can prove it. I
- 18:51Speaker 1: have a a co host that can show you where
- 18:57Speaker 1: it has been proven. Nothing that nobody is telling you.
- 18:59Speaker 1: God a baby three days old that was diagnosed as
- 19:03Speaker 1: a severe depressive disorder. So you tell me, can a
- 19:12Speaker 1: child be born with the same thing that a parent
- 19:16Speaker 1: is going through? So if a mother that's carring you
- 19:19Speaker 1: for nine months it's depressed the whole nine months, can
- 19:21Speaker 1: that child be born depressed? If it's evident that if
- 19:27Speaker 1: the child can be born with drugs in they system,
- 19:29Speaker 1: if the mother has been using drugs and the child
- 19:32Speaker 1: be born with drugs in the system, that that's evident.
- 19:35Speaker 1: So don't you think the same thing that allows those
- 19:40Speaker 1: those drugs to get into the system of that child,
- 19:44Speaker 1: that those same hormones and those same things can get
- 19:50Speaker 1: passed on to the child. Do we think about that
- 19:57Speaker 1: and not the fact that even now it has been
- 20:01Speaker 1: proven in New York and in some more states that
- 20:06Speaker 1: a child does not even that their mind, they frontal
- 20:10Speaker 1: lobe does not even function properly until they're in their
- 20:13Speaker 1: twenty late twenties, like twenty five, twenty four, twenty five,
- 20:18Speaker 1: twenty six, somewhere up in there. I ain't did no
- 20:21Speaker 1: research on this, so I don't know for sure myself.
- 20:23Speaker 1: I'm just going by what they have said that has
- 20:28Speaker 1: been said to be true. So none of this stuff
- 20:32Speaker 1: that I'm saying anyway is true because I'm not giving
- 20:35Speaker 1: any facts because I don't want to be given out
- 20:39Speaker 1: any wrong information, but just given my feelings for the
- 20:43Speaker 1: whole thing. So a lot of people, I feel like
- 20:47Speaker 1: if you pick up some of my books, a lot
- 20:50Speaker 1: of the things that a lot of these individuals, if
- 20:54Speaker 1: a lot of these individuals will pick up some of
- 20:56Speaker 1: the books that we got out here, that they could
- 20:59Speaker 1: really truly see how we feel, how some of us
- 21:04Speaker 1: as individuals, how some of us as as brown people,
- 21:11Speaker 1: as as b K's, how we feel in this skin.
- 21:16Speaker 1: Because we share in our writings, these these these experiences,
- 21:21Speaker 1: these journeys allow us to be able to share through
- 21:24Speaker 1: our writing because a lot of people don't want to
- 21:26Speaker 1: hear what we gotta say. So because they don't want
- 21:29Speaker 1: to hear what we gotta say, we gotta get these
- 21:31Speaker 1: things out. So what we have turned to we've turned
- 21:35Speaker 1: to writing. We've come to we've turned to expressing these
- 21:38Speaker 1: things through literature, through literary works, through through monologueing, through podcasts,
- 21:44Speaker 1: and through these various outlets that we have been blessed
- 21:47Speaker 1: to have. Because individuals don't want to hear what we
- 21:51Speaker 1: gotta say, and because they don't want to hear what
- 21:54Speaker 1: we gotta say, we had to provide outlets for ourselves
- 21:57Speaker 1: to get these things out. I think I I thank
- 22:02Speaker 1: god for therapists. I thank god for brown people that
- 22:06Speaker 1: look like us that walk in those professions that are
- 22:09Speaker 1: willing to sit down and talk about those things, because
- 22:12Speaker 1: a lot of people want to continue to brush mental
- 22:14Speaker 1: health under the rug. They don't want to talk about
- 22:18Speaker 1: it into it's one of these white teeth, these hyts
- 22:21Speaker 1: that is going through and then they don't done something,
- 22:24Speaker 1: and then they want to talk about it. When if
- 22:28Speaker 1: you go and pick up some of my books, I'm
- 22:30Speaker 1: telling you I'm sticking to the topic. I'm sticking I'm
- 22:33Speaker 1: sticking to the topic. You can pick up some of
- 22:35Speaker 1: my books. You can be educated, you can be empowered,
- 22:38Speaker 1: you can be encouraged, you can make a difference. You
- 22:42Speaker 1: can you can you can discover those strengths that you
- 22:44Speaker 1: have inside some of some of some of these people
- 22:48Speaker 1: that are are jumping ship and and and saying that
- 22:51Speaker 1: they support this and support that. Guess what, you have
- 22:55Speaker 1: pains that have not been addressed. You have issues that
- 22:59Speaker 1: have not been addressed. You feel inadequate. There are things
- 23:04Speaker 1: that you you have fear that you will fail. Not
- 23:10Speaker 1: only that, you feel loneliness, you feel disconnected. And then
- 23:15Speaker 1: I hear some of some of them want to pray
- 23:17Speaker 1: for people. They want to act like they got a
- 23:19Speaker 1: spiritual connection when they are spiritually struggling because they don't
- 23:25Speaker 1: even know where where that purpose is, what they're supposed
- 23:30Speaker 1: to be doing, because they're all over the place, because
- 23:33Speaker 1: they have a fear of failing. They feel inadequate, they
- 23:37Speaker 1: feel overwhelmed, they have anxiety that's knocking at their door.
- 23:42Speaker 1: And then they wonder why they going through and why
- 23:45Speaker 1: they feel like they feel. Pick up some of my books, y'all.
- 23:49Speaker 1: I'm staying on topic. I'm staying on topic. Were talking
- 23:51Speaker 1: about books, were talking about knowing your target audience, and
- 23:55Speaker 1: these are my readers. These are the people that feel inadequate.
- 24:00Speaker 1: A lot of these people that following a lot of
- 24:02Speaker 1: these this this this Kamela Anthony's they following the Kamela
- 24:06Speaker 1: Anthony's arm lives, and and and they all got all
- 24:11Speaker 1: these racial slurs to say, you know why you feel
- 24:14Speaker 1: like that because you have so many pain points that
- 24:18Speaker 1: you have not addressed. You've not been delivered from a
- 24:23Speaker 1: lot of those things that your grandmama, your great granddaddy,
- 24:28Speaker 1: and a lot of these people they suffered with these things,
- 24:31Speaker 1: and a lot of them took them to their grave.
- 24:33Speaker 1: And y'all still trying to uphold mess y'all still trying
- 24:37Speaker 1: to uphold y'all, y'all racism. Why because you feel inadequate,
- 24:43Speaker 1: you have a fail you have a fear of failing,
- 24:47Speaker 1: because you feel like we're gonna, we're gonna succeed, and
- 24:51Speaker 1: yet you're not going to succeed, and you feel like
- 24:54Speaker 1: we're gonna take your place, We're gonna move you out
- 24:57Speaker 1: of the way because you're not keeping up. You're not
- 25:01Speaker 1: keeping up with what you're supposed to be keeping up with,
- 25:05Speaker 1: and then you're not keeping up with a lot of
- 25:07Speaker 1: other people that have moved on beyond you, and you
- 25:10Speaker 1: feel lonely, you feel disconnected, You don't you don't feel
- 25:15Speaker 1: like you're, you're, you're, you're a part of what's going on,
- 25:20Speaker 1: and then that overwhelming set in, and that anxiety set in.
- 25:23Speaker 2: Why why why?
- 25:45Speaker 1: Because we're not doing what we're supposed to. So how
- 25:50Speaker 1: do we move past this? Pick up some of my books,
