- 0:00Speaker 1: Why from Midtown Manhattan, Here comes the Mark Simone Show
- 0:05Speaker 1: on seven to ten wo.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Honors's right live from midtown Manhattan. Why we're like two
- 0:11Speaker 2: blocks from Ken Griffin's house. Right now. We'll talk about
- 0:15Speaker 2: Ken Griffin. We'll talk about Crazy Mom Donnie. We'll get
- 0:19Speaker 2: to Stephen Colbert, we'll get to the Rolling Stones, we'll
- 0:23Speaker 2: get to Iran Marco. Rubio surprised a lot of people yesterday.
- 0:28Speaker 2: We'll explain now. Yesterday last night, there were two races,
- 0:34Speaker 2: two primaries, Indiana and Ohio, that were very important to
- 0:39Speaker 2: Republicans to Donald Trump. Won't go through all the it's
- 0:42Speaker 2: too boring to go through all the details. But there
- 0:44Speaker 2: were a bunch of people running in Indiana that Trump
- 0:47Speaker 2: didn't like. Some of them were Republicans that had worked
- 0:50Speaker 2: against him. He wanted to get rid of them, so
- 0:51Speaker 2: he supported their opponents. And in Ohio there were people
- 0:55Speaker 2: he was back. There were a lot of people who
- 0:56Speaker 2: was backing in Ohio and Indiana. Yesterday last night, they
- 1:02Speaker 2: all every single one won by landslides. Now you know
- 1:06Speaker 2: whenever a Republican candidate loses. There was that little tiny
- 1:10Speaker 2: state Senate race in Palm Beach. The Republican lost. Front
- 1:14Speaker 2: page news, Maga is over, trumps coattails are gone, and
- 1:18Speaker 2: there was another race somewhere, the little race somewhere where
- 1:22Speaker 2: the Trump back candidate didn't win. Front page news. Lead's
- 1:26Speaker 2: story on the nightly news whole first ten minutes of
- 1:29Speaker 2: the hour on MSNBC. How obviously the magic of Trump
- 1:33Speaker 2: is well. Yesterday was stunning, how many Trump backed candidates
- 1:39Speaker 2: surprisingly won, and one on one by fifty percent, staggering.
- 1:45Speaker 2: You'll hear no mention of it on the news later.
- 1:48Speaker 2: It won't be on the front page of the New
- 1:50Speaker 2: York Time, it won't be anywhere. Let's just pretend they
- 1:53Speaker 2: didn't see it. So Marco Rubio surprised a lot of
- 1:57Speaker 2: people yesterday. Now, of course, he's always been thought of
- 1:59Speaker 2: as a very smart, articulate sort of a guy, knowledgeable guy.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Talk of him as a possible twenty twenty eight candidate.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Of course, they talk about Jay d Vance and Rubio.
- 2:10Speaker 2: So Caroline Levitt, the White House Press secretary, is out
- 2:13Speaker 2: on maternity leave. She left, so Rubio did the daily
- 2:17Speaker 2: briefing with the press. Marco Rubio did the daily briefing
- 2:21Speaker 2: and stunned everybody they knew he was a smart, articulate guy.
- 2:27Speaker 2: But they said, well, maybe he doesn't know how to
- 2:28Speaker 2: handle the press conference. And you know, these reporters can
- 2:32Speaker 2: be pretty brutal. He dazzled them, absolutely dazzled them. He
- 2:36Speaker 2: was so knowledgeable, he was charming, he was authoritative. He
- 2:41Speaker 2: handled the press brilliantly. He did some of it in Spanish,
- 2:46Speaker 2: some of it are Italians, and most of it in English.
- 2:49Speaker 2: He just wowed everybody. They couldn't believe it. His stock
- 2:52Speaker 2: went way up yesterday. Whatever they asked him. Straight of
- 2:55Speaker 2: horror moves.
- 2:56Speaker 3: There is no international law that allows you to say
- 2:58Speaker 3: I'm gonna put minds in an international body of water
- 3:01Speaker 3: and I'm going to blow up ships that don't listen
- 3:03Speaker 3: to us and try to go through. That's what Iran
- 3:05Speaker 3: is doing. This is a criminal act and someone needs
- 3:08Speaker 3: to do something about it. Something needs to be done.
- 3:10Speaker 3: It's completely illegal, completely illegitimate, and completely unaccepted.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Yeah. No, people learned a lot. You should go go
- 3:16Speaker 2: online and watch the whole thing. You learn a lot
- 3:17Speaker 2: of stuff.
- 3:18Speaker 3: But Iran must accept the reality of this situation and
- 3:21Speaker 3: come to the negotiation table and accept terms that are
- 3:24Speaker 3: good for them but ultimately good for the world.
- 3:26Speaker 2: The diplomatic path.
- 3:26Speaker 3: If there's a real diplomatic path, I'm not know what's
- 3:29Speaker 3: going to be one, but if there's a real diplomatic path,
- 3:31Speaker 3: then we continue to explore it. Steve and Jarreed are
- 3:33Speaker 3: working on that very hard. If there is one there,
- 3:35Speaker 3: it could be one that leads them to reconstruction, to prosperity,
- 3:38Speaker 3: and to stability.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Yeah. Now democratsal yelling scream, well, obviously we're in a stalemate. Yeah,
- 3:44Speaker 2: it's the greatest stalemate in history for US. We got
- 3:48Speaker 2: the straight clothes, which means nobody can get any oil
- 3:52Speaker 2: from Iran. We don't need it, we don't buy it,
- 3:54Speaker 2: and then have to start buying oil from US, which
- 3:56Speaker 2: is great. We're the biggest supplier in the world. Now
- 3:59Speaker 2: it also means with the straight close, the entire Iranian
- 4:03Speaker 2: economy is shut down. They have zero revenue. This has
- 4:06Speaker 2: been going on for weeks, two months of zero revenue.
- 4:10Speaker 2: They're about to run out of cash. So it's a
- 4:13Speaker 2: great steal. Mate. Now, what about the War Powers Act?
- 4:17Speaker 3: The War Powers Act is unconstitutional. Now, this is not
- 4:21Speaker 3: the position of me, not the position of the President
- 4:23Speaker 3: United States. Now, this is the position of every single
- 4:25Speaker 3: president that has occupied this position since the day that
- 4:28Speaker 3: law passed. It's completely unconstitutional.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Yeah, now, of course, you know the Democrats always famous
- 4:34Speaker 2: for that hypocrisy and yelling at Trump you can't continue.
- 4:39Speaker 2: This is a violation of the war power. Is that. Well,
- 4:41Speaker 2: every single president did the same exact thing. Obama and Libya,
- 4:45Speaker 2: you can go down the whole list, Clinton and Bosnia, Bush,
- 4:49Speaker 2: everybody's done the same exact thing. You don't need to worry.
- 4:52Speaker 2: But they'll say this is different. This is two months.
- 4:56Speaker 2: This is an endless war. It's two months. Remember that
- 4:59Speaker 2: Obama war that was seven months without any War Powers
- 5:02Speaker 2: Act seven months. Rubio, you know he's Cube, and he
- 5:06Speaker 2: talked about Cuba.
- 5:07Speaker 4: There's no oil blockade on Cuba per se. Here's what's
- 5:09Speaker 4: happening with Cube, okay.
- 5:10Speaker 3: Qba used to get free oil from Venezuela.
- 5:13Speaker 4: Used to give him a bunch of free oil.
- 5:14Speaker 3: They would take like sixty percent of that oil and
- 5:16Speaker 3: resell it for cash.
- 5:17Speaker 2: It wouldn't even go to benefit the people.
- 5:19Speaker 3: So the only blockade that's happened is the Cubans have decided,
- 5:22Speaker 3: I mean, the Venezuelans have decided we're not giving you
- 5:24Speaker 3: free oil anymore. And you can only imagine nowadays the
- 5:27Speaker 3: will prices are No one's giving away free oil, much
- 5:30Speaker 3: less to a failed regime.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Yeah, so he was great. He really, really really impressed
- 5:34Speaker 2: people yesterday. So this is one of the most fascinating stories. Mom,
- 5:42Speaker 2: Donnie gets himself elected. Now. He's a great campaigner, he's
- 5:46Speaker 2: a great talker. He was, remember he was at one percent.
- 5:51Speaker 2: He got really lucky, really lucky. The candidates in that
- 5:57Speaker 2: Democratic primary, some that might have beaten him, but they
- 6:00Speaker 2: got really lucky. Andrew Cuomo old death of a salesman.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Andrew Cuomo jumps into the primary, a guy who could
- 6:08Speaker 2: never win a Democratic primary ever again, could never get
- 6:11Speaker 2: elected in New York again. He killed too many people,
- 6:14Speaker 2: too much blood on his hands. He killed all those
- 6:17Speaker 2: thousands and thousands in the nursing homes, and then he
- 6:20Speaker 2: killed many more thousands with his no bail, no jail,
- 6:23Speaker 2: let the criminals back out, his closing the prisons, letting
- 6:26Speaker 2: the prisoners out. He changed the parole boards. That was
- 6:29Speaker 2: all left wing wackos. They let everybody out, including forty
- 6:33Speaker 2: three cop killers. So so many people died as a
- 6:37Speaker 2: result him not to mention the other bad policies he
- 6:39Speaker 2: closed the Indian Point, which rose everybody's electric bill rose
- 6:44Speaker 2: twenty five percent as a result. He killed fracking, which
- 6:48Speaker 2: made your electric bill go up another fifty percent. I mean,
- 6:51Speaker 2: it was just ridiculous. So he was never going to
- 6:53Speaker 2: get elected. So that's was such a break from mom Donnie.
- 6:57Speaker 2: So that's how he won the primary. Cuomo has killed
- 7:00Speaker 2: all the other candidates, and Cuomo couldn't win. And then
- 7:03Speaker 2: in both primary debates, Mom Donnie just slapped them around.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Cuomo's the world's worst debater, and that's how Mom Donnie
- 7:11Speaker 2: got the nomination. As they say, once you got the
- 7:13Speaker 2: Democratic nomination, you're probably gonna win. So he gets he's
- 7:18Speaker 2: a brilliant campaigner, brilliant debater talker, but a manager. No,
- 7:23Speaker 2: he's never run anything. He's never had a job, he's
- 7:26Speaker 2: never been in business. He was just like a crazy
- 7:28Speaker 2: left wing radical college student. So he does not have
- 7:32Speaker 2: run anything. So he's attacking the billionaires. He wants to
- 7:37Speaker 2: tax the rich. He wants to close Park Avenue and
- 7:39Speaker 2: make it a pedestrian a park, a mall, I mean,
- 7:44Speaker 2: just crazy stuff, free supermarkets. He have no idea how
- 7:46Speaker 2: to open a supermarket if you wanted to open a supermarket.
- 7:49Speaker 2: It cost two million dollars according to every supermarket. He
- 7:53Speaker 2: wants to spend thirty for a tiny one, a tiny,
- 7:55Speaker 2: little crappy one thirty million. It'll never open though, don't
- 7:58Speaker 2: You'll never see it. Free buses the camp can't be done.
- 8:02Speaker 2: He has no power to do that. Free rant can't
- 8:04Speaker 2: do it. So then he declares war with the He
- 8:08Speaker 2: comes up with this Pieta tear tax, which, by the way,
- 8:11Speaker 2: was created by Andrew Cuomo. I don't know if he
- 8:15Speaker 2: created it, but he was the first one pushing it
- 8:17Speaker 2: wherever he found it. He was the one that started
- 8:19Speaker 2: pushing this Pieta tear attacks when he was governor. So
- 8:23Speaker 2: he decides to make a video. This is all he does.
- 8:25Speaker 2: He can't he's not a manager. He doesn't actually do
- 8:28Speaker 2: anything as far as running the city. He's an instagrammer,
- 8:32Speaker 2: a TikToker. He's the TikTok mayor. So he makes all
- 8:35Speaker 2: these videos. He made a video. He thought this is
- 8:37Speaker 2: gonna go viral. Well he was right, it did go viral.
- 8:41Speaker 2: He goes right outside, right over there, that's where Ken
- 8:43Speaker 2: Griffin lives, two twenty Central Park South. He went outside
- 8:46Speaker 2: his building, did a video identifying the building saying this
- 8:50Speaker 2: is where Ken Griffin lives, pointing at it and bad
- 8:55Speaker 2: mouthing Ken Griffin, who's one of our biggest tax payers.
- 8:58Speaker 2: We've got a lot of wealthy people New York, but
- 9:03Speaker 2: it's just a handful of billionaires and they pay most
- 9:05Speaker 2: of the tax. Now, the problem is Democrats, especially Mamdani,
- 9:10Speaker 2: but all Democrats don't believe in science. They never follow
- 9:13Speaker 2: the science. There's a science to running an economy. We
- 9:18Speaker 2: know what works, we know what doesn't. Scientifically, we've shown
- 9:20Speaker 2: it socialism, for instance, socialism. We tested that ten thousand times,
- 9:28Speaker 2: ten thousand times over and over. We've tested social Every
- 9:34Speaker 2: experiment with it shows it's a failure one hundred percent
- 9:37Speaker 2: of the time. But here's this guy pushing socialism. They
- 9:41Speaker 2: just don't follow the science. They don't care. Also, when
- 9:44Speaker 2: you have an economy and you want tax revenue, let's
- 9:46Speaker 2: say that's your big goal, tax revenue. The people that
- 9:50Speaker 2: give it to you are Ken Griffins. You need a
- 9:52Speaker 2: bunch of Ken Griffins to get a lot of tax revenue.
- 9:54Speaker 2: If any of them move, you lose a lot of
- 9:57Speaker 2: tax revenue. Ken Griffin pays billions and billions in billions
- 10:00Speaker 2: every year in tax revenue in New York. If he moved,
- 10:04Speaker 2: he could lose five billion dollars right there in revenue
- 10:06Speaker 2: every year. Not just personally, but he has a lot
- 10:09Speaker 2: of business here, and he's about to He owns a
- 10:12Speaker 2: lot of businesses here. He was about to build a
- 10:15Speaker 2: new skyscraper fifty second in Park. It was it was
- 10:20Speaker 2: going to spend six billion to build this skyscraper, six billion.
- 10:27Speaker 2: It would take six thousand construction jobs about five years.
- 10:31Speaker 2: There would be six thousand construction jobs to build it,
- 10:34Speaker 2: and then when the building opens, it would employ fifteen
- 10:37Speaker 2: thousand people, fifteen thousand permanent jobs. It would bring in
- 10:41Speaker 2: billions in revenue. The guy already pays billions and billions
- 10:45Speaker 2: every year to New York and tax revenue. He also
- 10:48Speaker 2: just personally gives away about seven hundred million every year
- 10:52Speaker 2: for charity, just here in New York. This is the
- 10:54Speaker 2: kind of guy. If you're the mayor or the governor
- 10:57Speaker 2: and the guy announces this six billion dollar project, he's
- 11:00Speaker 2: to create fifteen thousand chaps, you're supposed to call the
- 11:03Speaker 2: guy say would you like to meet Let you meet
- 11:06Speaker 2: with him. What can we do to help? How can
- 11:07Speaker 2: I help you get this project. That's what you're supposed
- 11:09Speaker 2: to do. The mayor targets him. Ken Griffin now responding,
- 11:15Speaker 2: and he's right. He said, what Mom Donnie did with
- 11:19Speaker 2: that video showing my house, it was creepy, weird. Targeting
- 11:22Speaker 2: an individual.
- 11:23Speaker 1: They see of United Healthcare was killed just a few
- 11:25Speaker 1: blocks from my house. And anything that creates like an
- 11:30Speaker 1: agitation in the extremist on either side of the aisle
- 11:34Speaker 1: is a frightening dynamic.
- 11:35Speaker 4: I mean, you know, if we look at what happened
- 11:37Speaker 4: in DC.
- 11:42Speaker 2: He's targeting this guy personally, it's unbelievable.
- 11:45Speaker 4: So what are you going to do about Mom Donnie?
- 11:48Speaker 1: So, first of all, for New York public schools, I'm
- 11:51Speaker 1: happy to buy a copy of Animal Farm for every
- 11:54Speaker 1: ninth grader.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Yeah, that's sad.
- 12:02Speaker 1: And Mayor Mundahmy, you just shoot me an email, give
- 12:04Speaker 1: me the delivery address.
- 12:05Speaker 4: I'll get them shipped right away.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Yeah. So he's speaking at this Aspen conference. Now, Chicago
- 12:13Speaker 2: had a crazy socialist kookie mayor who gave him a
- 12:15Speaker 2: hard time. So, and he had massive business, commercial interests
- 12:20Speaker 2: stuff in Chicago. He moved it. That's where he lived.
- 12:24Speaker 2: He lived in Chicago, So after the mayor did all
- 12:27Speaker 2: this stuff to him, he just packed up and left,
- 12:28Speaker 2: and he took all his commercial business with him, moved
- 12:31Speaker 2: it to Miami, where he has enormous stuff in Miami,
- 12:34Speaker 2: created a lot of jobs, pays a lot of money
- 12:37Speaker 2: in Miami property tax and commercial tax, so he could
- 12:41Speaker 2: close up all this New York stuff and take it
- 12:43Speaker 2: to Miami. And he was asked about that.
- 12:46Speaker 1: And now what the Mayor of New York has made
- 12:48Speaker 1: clear to my partners, and principally my.
- 12:50Speaker 4: New York partners, my New York partners.
- 12:53Speaker 1: Is that we need to double down on our bet
- 12:55Speaker 1: in Miami because we want to be in a state
- 12:58Speaker 1: that embraces that embraces business, that embraces education, that embraces
- 13:06Speaker 1: personal freedom and liberty, and that embraces people having an
- 13:10Speaker 1: opportunity to live the American dream.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Now again, you got two problems. One, as they say,
- 13:15Speaker 2: democrats never follow the science when it comes to an economy,
- 13:19Speaker 2: when it comes to crime, they just don't follow the science.
- 13:23Speaker 2: And Mom, Donnie, besides all that has no experience none
- 13:28Speaker 2: as doesn't know anything about managing. He's never even had
- 13:31Speaker 2: a job, never been in business, never run anything. So
- 13:35Speaker 2: he should be settling this right away, but he's holding
- 13:38Speaker 2: his ground. This crazy little mom. Donnie Ken Griffin probably
- 13:43Speaker 2: would be speaking out more and more about this.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Turn me into a political puppet was just in poor taste,
- 13:49Speaker 1: really poor taste. The tax itself is a tax that
- 13:52Speaker 1: discriminates against a narrow group of people. Is also disconcerting.
- 13:56Speaker 1: You know, our company is thinking about making a six
- 13:58Speaker 1: billion dollar investment in New York City three fifty Park, right,
- 14:02Speaker 1: are they going to now have a special tax rate
- 14:05Speaker 1: for those that own office buildings who live out of state?
- 14:08Speaker 4: Like, where's this stop in New York.
- 14:12Speaker 2: It's the dumbest thing ever. It's just democrats. They don't
- 14:14Speaker 2: follow the science. Now, let's say you had a restaurant.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Now you got your regular customers, you appreciate their regular customers.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Then you got your super regular customers. I mean guys
- 14:25Speaker 2: like that come in all the time every week and
- 14:28Speaker 2: they order all kinds of expensive wines and their checks
- 14:30Speaker 2: are eight thousand and six thousand. Hedge fund guys. They
- 14:34Speaker 2: come in all the time. You should be fawning all
- 14:37Speaker 2: over them. You wouldn't target them, you wouldn't put special
- 14:40Speaker 2: taxes on them. You would never want to drive them
- 14:42Speaker 2: out of your restaurant. It'd be insane, it'd be the
- 14:45Speaker 2: stupidest thing you can do. And if your business is
- 14:48Speaker 2: tax revenue, this guy's one of your top five customers.
- 14:52Speaker 2: Probably you should be. You know, other mayors not only
- 14:57Speaker 2: would meet with them, say here's my cell number. If
- 14:59Speaker 2: you ever have a problem, if you need anything, call me.
- 15:01Speaker 2: That's the way you're supposed to treat guys like that,
- 15:04Speaker 2: because all they'll do is pump money and create jobs.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Pump money into the city and create thousands of jobs. Hey,
- 15:10Speaker 2: we'll take some calls. Next eight hundred three two one
- 15:14Speaker 2: zero seven ten is the number, eight hundred Hey. By
- 15:17Speaker 2: the way, we just got the word Ted Turner has
- 15:20Speaker 2: passed away. Ted Turner just died moments ago, the founder,
- 15:24Speaker 2: of course of CNN, And uh, well, we'll talk about him.
- 15:27Speaker 2: We'll get to Ted Turner. He just passed away. We'll
- 15:29Speaker 2: get to that coming up. But we'll take some calls.
- 15:31Speaker 2: Next eight hundred three two one zero seven ten,
