The 1900 Galveston Hurricane struck the island of Galveston, Texas on Saturday Sept. 8th, 1900 as a Cat 4 storm, causing15-25 foot storm surges and killing somewhere between 6,000 and 12,000 people. This is the story told by the storm survivors.
