- Nate: Tonight on the North American Friends Movie Club. 17 missing children. One scary witch. And five or six scenes that made me want to puke. We watch the 2025 supernatural mystery horror film Weapons. So slip into your nastiest wig. And find your pokiest stick. Because we're the most powerful witches of podcasting. And this show is our evil spell. That's good. Very good. Yeah. Very good. Yep. This what it sounds like when we do a podcast. We're currently doing one. This is the North American Friends Movie Club, and you might notice something about the name of our show. And that's Friends Comes Before Movie Club. So I gotta ask my two little weapons, how we doing? We're back, bitches. We're back, baby. Happy, ⁓ happy spooky month. It's ⁓ it's ⁓ now October. It is the spookiest month. It is one of my favorite months besides December. ⁓ out with the old, in with the new, I say. We're shutting down. We're shutting down. What do you mean? I don't understand that the I th when the fall happens, things die, all the plants die, all the leaves fall. ⁓ grass turns brown. Nature is going into a respite time so that it may flourish later. I've been putting stuff in the shed. See? So you that's shutting it down. ⁓ I think it's important to acknowledge that all three of us are in our forties now. Yeah. This is we're all in our forties now. This is an officially a middle aged podcast. Very mature. Yes. Very demure. Very demu demure. Yes. Yeah. ⁓ will you speak about your birthday later? Yes, I will. I will speak about my birthday ⁓ during my segment. Okay. Okay. Well that's all let's get to segments and so I I just I wanna know what's happening. ⁓ my gosh. You guys, so many things hap you've you don't realize how much happens until we don't speak, right? And then it just accumulates. Yeah. Well I got a longer list than usual for sure. It's not that. ⁓ the first thing I wanted to share is that slang is changing for the kids. So the words that we have said in the past have different meanings now. Okay. And so Nick had posted photos of the boys on their first day back at school, and I replied, ⁓ I referred to the boys as studs. I was like, look at look at these couple of studs or something. And then I was informed by my cool ⁓ niece that you cannot call kids studs because that is what a stud is a butch black woman. So it's a w I never heard of such a thing. I never heard of such a thing. So ⁓ She thought that was funny that I had referred to my stepsons as studs. And I was like, no, I'm a middle aged woman, and that's not what studs means to me. Stud is a hottie, is a cool guy, right? Yeah. Well, no, it's great ball player. That's a stud. Exactly. No, that's a lesbian pieces of wood sixteen inches apart. Sure. Black lesbian butch. So now we know that. Now everyone who's listening knows that. ⁓ there was a tragedy while we were not speaking to each other. Mul multiple tragedies, right? I was gonna say, like we live in such a tragic world, I don't even know which tragedy you're referring to. I'm speaking about a a a local tragedy. ⁓ my brother-in-law Ted, the college we went to, William Jewell College, had their first football game. And after the first touchdown by a football player named Micah Joe, Micah Joe Got the touchdown, ran back to the sideline, and then died. Just lo they did C PR on him for forty five minutes. They never got him back. And it's a chat to him. Nobody knows because they have to do the autopsies. He wasn't hit. It wasn't too hot. You know what I mean? There was a hockey player that's in the NHL, the ⁓ development camp. They went on a run. I think it was in Arizona or something like that, where they went for a run and he he collapsed. I think he's coming now. That one sounds worse. Or like they're both horrible, but that one was like someone's negligence. Like there was a dude who was f forcing him to work out till he died, which is criminal. That's like a criminal thing. That's bad. This football guy sounds like just like a pure tragedy tragedy out of the blue. Yes. His parents were there, everyone was there. And so everyone was witnessing. Everything that was happening. ⁓ my god. Yeah, that's that's the worst. ⁓ Brent, it's Kiss from a Rose on the Gray. Yeah. I didn't know that. I thought it was grave. You thought for a long time I thought it was grave until I got the lyrics because I wanted to sing along one day. Okay. I didn't know that. I thought it was I thought it was for the brave. ⁓ wow. Until right now? Yeah, like 'cause I thought like he wrote it for the movie and the brave Batman. Batman's brave. Yep. Yep. This is heartening to me. I think you just blew a lot of people's minds right now. Cause you put you place you place roses on graves. That's what I thought. That's what I thought. That's what I thought. What is gray? Is the gray the grave? I think it's a a dark world. I think it's a dark Crummy world and the rose is bright red and you get a kiss from it and it brightens your world. Great email segment. If you guys have an interpretation of what the gray is, please write us at North American Friends at movieclub at gmail.com. Let us know what you think the gray is. Seal, are you listening? Please the brave. No. Wow. I know it changes everything now. Okay. We had a wedding. Nick was the officiant. Yes. Such drama. Can I tell you about the drama? Drama. Can we get before the drama? Like, talk about weapons. We had two weapons. For real. Kate and Nick were ⁓ they were sharpened. They were they were pointy. ⁓ They stabbed us with beauty. They stabbed us with their beauty. Double edged knives came and picked them up that way. I wanted to stand in that pose the entire night. It is not a natural pose. Mm-hmm. That's a model pose. That's a Zendaya pose. Yeah. For the I was given a big Zendaya. Yeah, right. For the people that haven't seen Kate and Nick at the wedding, ⁓ when Kate posted the picture, I thought she was posting a picture from the Daytime Emmys. Yeah, I liked that comment. I I like the comment that you said that she looked like she was winning an Emmy. I was like, She does look like she's winning an Emmy. You're as the pose. Thank you. The the hair was very nineteen thirties flapper classic, short, tight to the head. Don't make faces, I'm gonna give you compliments. I know, I just it's like my normal hair. I really didn't do much to my hair. It was thirties flapper tight to the head. and the the dress. It just just you looked thank you. You looked just amazing. On the vest on Nick. ⁓ the vest made him so efficient. So much more official that efficient than I would have than without the vest. And what's so great is Nick is in no way a spiritual person. He is the least religious person you may meet. And he did such an amazing job. This is what you want. You want someone who knows about love. That was good to say. Man knows love. He knows love. You don't need God when you know love, because guess what? God is love. He should've painted his face. He should have painted his face red like Brother Love from WWF. I I don't think you should have done that. It would have been good. It would have played. Okay, so Nick's best friend got married. He's known Sean since they were in kindergarten. They've they all these guys have known each other a really long time from Moberly, Missouri. Okay. So I shouldn't say their names, right? I was gonna say, if you wanna give out social insurance numbers. There this story has three Nick's in it. So we gotta It's gonna be confusing, so I gotta figure okay. We go Nick. Our Nick is my Nick. Nick. Our Nick just say Nick and call one Nicky and call the other guy Nicholas. We got Nick, we got ⁓ Captain America and we got ⁓ Florida Nick. Okay. Perfect. Beautiful. So Florida Nick is a friend and came up from Florida, picked up his brother. ⁓ we'll call him Nazi. Okay. And previously there has been a group text that Florida Nick and R Nick and Nazi and a couple other guys were in. And it ⁓ Arnik had to remove himself from that group chat because there were Nazi there's Nazis in the group chat, and our Nick can't tolerate that because he's a lovely person. Okay. So we got this really great rental that was by where the wedding was. And the night before the wedding, ⁓ Florida Nick and N Nazi boy, ⁓ they were invited over because they were in town. And so they came over and we were lovely hosts, even though we deeply disagree with their beliefs, right? And who knows what Florida Nick thinks? Like, I think just Florida Nick is very ⁓ defensive because the Nazis is brother, right? So, like, even though you're not a Nazi, you gotta like. Okay, so that was fine and the Nazi was fine. ⁓ I just I'm want to tell us Charles Hitler felt the same way. That's Adolf's brother. Yeah. Chuck Yeah, yeah, Chuck Hitler. Chuck Hitler hard position to be in. It's ⁓ tough, bro. Chancellor of Germany. What are you gonna do? Yeah. So obviously it's a wedding weekend. There's some drinking. We fast forward to the wedding. Nick is the officiant, does a grit I like how I said that. Really nice. Does a great job. It's ⁓ the reception, it's early in the reception. and the ⁓ Florida Nick and the Nazi are ⁓ drunk and they're in the corner and they break a glass while there are speeches going on. And I am the pastor's wife, right? And so I'm shushing people. Like I went I'm like, we are being quiet. Thank you. ⁓ what ends up happening is the owner of the facility went over there and her daughter was helping clean up the mess they had made from breaking the glass. And Florida Nick and the Nazi were extremely rude to the owner of the facility and this young girl. And so then the So the facility owner came to Captain America, that Nick, who is a family member, and was like, hey, just like they don't have to leave, but like they're cut off because they're obviously wasted. And ⁓ Captain America went up to Ardnik and he was like, These are your buddies. It's gonna come better from you because you know them versus me. I'm just, you know what I mean? So Arnik goes over there and talks to them. And these guys are just not. I won't get into the details, but they were hammered. They are they're older than Brent and I. It's 745. I was gonna say, like, the st we're just still doing the service. We're not even at the like we haven't even got to dinner yet. We haven't had dinner yet. No. Yeah. No. No. That's amateur shit. The b I had I had my first cocktail. So they must have been pre partying forever. I don't know. Mm-hmm. Threatened to beat up Ardnik. Threatened to take him outside. ⁓ accused Nick Arnik of orchestrating this because he doesn't like Nazis. Yep. It's a lot of planning. And Nick felt as well, he should, like, ⁓ like the emotional leader of the event. So he handled it beautifully and was like so regulated. Perfect man for the job, let's be real. And he was like, what are you gonna do? And he kept like posture, you know, like this thing. Like Yeah. Classic movie. ⁓ my God. That's that's 20 year olds wedding reception stuff. Thank you. What we doing? Like I would even give more credit to twenty year olds. Like Yeah, they could be. They would sort they would have sorted this out a little bit better. So after they would have known what to do. Exactly. And after they left And after the whole reception was over, I spoke to the owner of the facility and she was like, you know what's so weird is like you guys have been like the nicest and the most helpful group, other than these two. Like this was such a lovely event. And you guys are like went on and on. And she was like, which was so weird because these two were just so mean to me. And I've never she was like, I've never been spoken to like that before. Cause they were like, What are you doing just standing here? Like, I'm cleaning up your broken glass. What do you? So moral of the story, like sometimes we have drinking problems, right? Like and sometimes there's the moral of the story is like I think it's just a great story for Nick. I just think it's another in a long line of stories that show like Nick is a wonderful man and we could all we could all learn from him. I agree. That's what I think. Do you ⁓ speaking of how wonderful Nick is, do you wanna hear a little thing I do that I'm not proud of? Yes. I tried to like Nick's ⁓ Facebook statuses before Kate does. Get a little yeah, you like to be you like to get in first. I won't click like if I see Kate reacted. I won't click it. It I like that. That's hilarious. Yeah. This is how I pass my time. This is how I pass my time in the days. So I wanna fast forward. So I'm gonna reverse in the weekend. That Frida so the wedding was on a Sunday. That Friday night, like the Boys went out and the girls went out and then we met at a casino. ⁓ I saw. I have not been to a casino. I can't even tell you. There's a there's a vibe at casinos. Hate it. It's odd. It is it's a bad place. It's the only place where there's rule rules to lose your money. It just makes no sense to me. Like I have to be I like I have to study on the g it's just if I'm on a leader. One of those places where like there's so many rules that like for every bad thing that could happen at every casino has happened. So there is a rule. You're just like everything that could go wrong in this building has. Here's the thing before. They didn't card me, which I understand. I do look like I'm older than twenty one. I still feel like you need to look at an ID. I don't know. You I No, no, I felt very weird about that. Not at this point. They got the eye in the sky. They know. They see you you got a limb struggling. They can tell your back's hurting. You didn't have the tight hair. ⁓ Yeah. Okay. I also don't know the rules of casinos. So they were all ever Nick and all his buddies are really into craps. So they were all around a craps table. And I just like have my phone out and I'm like taking pictures and I'm like, You can't do that, guys. You can't take at Yeah, you could be doing sneaky stuff. You could be doing sneaky stuff with your camera. I was standing behind someone I wasn't supposed to stand behind. Like I don't know the rules. It's there's too many rules. They're not posted. Can you smoke darts in a Missouri casino? Maybe. No? I yeah, I I thought it was the home of the brave. That's why I'm asking. I was vaping, but I didn't know if I was supposed to Supposed to. Interesting. If you were vaping, they would have said if you weren't allowed. They have eyes everywhere. That's and I don't like that. I don't think that anything. I don't think you can. I don't think you can. Interesting. Interesting. Hold on. Well, the case openly vaping is just Can you smoke cigarettes inside Harris, Kansas City? Yes. You can smoke cigarettes on the main gaming and casino floor at Harris. I just think people are not smoking as much, so maybe I didn't notice it. The land of the free. Yep. you guys know I try to like talk to young people and yeah. Try to try to you know, engage in conversation. And ⁓ one of them was gonna turn twenty one and I said, You know, you're never as young as you are today. And they were like, Yep. Yeah, no. So that was it might take ⁓ another twenty one years before that hits home. Yeah. Okay, two more things and then I'll be done with my what's going on. Okay. So wedding night, obviously that was like a whole emotional up and roller coaster evening. Had a blast though. And then ⁓ I looked at the time and it was 3 a.m. and I was still drinking wine. ⁓ And then it was 4 a.m. and I was like, everybody else had gone to bed. And I was like, ⁓ I'm I should go to bed. And then I started eating some chakuterie and I was like listening to music and vibing out in this rental that we had while everybody was in bed. And then it was five AM and I was like, ⁓ Kate. Like it's time for I'm impressed. I'm impressed. That's why I I texted three AM. Kate is a vibe. It was she's fun as hell. Damn. Took two days to get over that hangover. ⁓ yeah. Yeah, that sounds about right. Sounds easy. ⁓ and then finally the thing that's been happening happened two days ago. ⁓ Fire truck EMS pulled up to the rental next to me. I guess the renter was sitting on the steps and they were like checking him out. And I don't know what happened, but they didn't go with him. I think he took too much of an edible and called nine one one. Freaked out. I like that story. Yeah. Because they didn't take him. They took his blood pressure. They had like the EKG on. They like and one guy was like sitting next to him just talking to him. Yeah. So that's my working theory is. I think that I think you're with all the clues you have, it's the best, it's the best we've got to go on right now. Yeah. Until we get new information. Thank you. Cause you could see them talk like the the professional guys were talking to each other and they were like Yeah. This is a waste. This is an exciting You know what I mean? Yeah. It's no bad shot in the head. And to me, that would be like I would be so embarrassed. Humiliating. Like if you know you have done marijuana, don't call nine one one. You're gonna be fine. Call a friend. Don't waste our community resources. Lay down. Also, stop trying to be cool and take these huge milligram edibles. Like we it's too much. It's too much nowadays. Everything's too much. I agree. Anyway. So that's what's been happening. That's what happened. That's what happened. ⁓ okay. Yeah, it's my turn. ⁓ first I'm gonna start with ⁓ a funny story that's stuck with me for now a week and a half. ⁓ Melissa told me the a girl she knows, she when she was young, like the kids they used to all go to her grandmother's house on Christmas Eve, and all the families would stay there and they'd have Christmas morning there at the grandmother's house, and every Christmas Eve. ⁓ the grandmother would make a special drink for all the kids, and all the kids would drink it and every Christmas Eve. And now that she was older, she was ⁓ feeling nostalgic as one does during the holidays. And so she called her grandmother and said, Will you give me the recipe for that lemon drink that you used to make for all the kids? And her grandmother was like, Lemon drink. She's like, Yeah, you made it every Christmas Eve for all the kids, and we used to drink it. I want to make it now for me and our my kids. And she said, ⁓ that was just Neo Citron to get you guys to go to sleep. Amazing. She drugged the kids. I thought that was amazing. I love that. She kept on calling a lemon drink. It was just Neocitron. What is Neo Citron? That is not an American thing. It's like sleepy time tea. ⁓ ⁓ as you guys know, I we have multiple bird feeders in our on our property. We've become a birdhouse. ⁓ lots of different birds come blue jays, cardinals, chickadees, hummingbirds. We got them all. ⁓ didn't realize, and I warned everybody in the house that this was happening because no one would believe me, because the window where I do the dishes looks right out onto the birds sanctuary, as I call it. Bird sanctuary. And the birds are just Some of the birds are just assholes. They get inside, they just fire start firing the seeds around. And I don't like that. But I noticed there's three cats that come and I scream out cat on the property. And then I realized what was happening. They're hunting the birds. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. They're they're little tigers. I feel like I'm just feeding birds to cats now. I feel terrible. Have you seen one of them eaten be eaten? No. I'll if I did, I would freak out. I'm going to get a paintball gun. I have a paintball gun, I should say, and I'm going to start shooting cats. Give ⁓ give ⁓ like a warning, like shoot near their feet first, you know, like I ⁓ I'm sure my aim won't be great. I'm sure I'll That's right. Actually, good point. Aim right at ⁓ and then you'll give it around. I'm sure it'll be four or five feet over their heads. ⁓ super soaker. No, this this is cats hate water. I have to send a message. They hate paint even more when they get one off the back of the neck. Yeah. Do they eat the little seedlings that have fallen onto the ground? That also might be a thing. We're just feeding cats. They're jumping into the gardens, they're wrecking the flowers, and they're hunting birds. I don't know what to do. I got a fucking mess out there. Does that bother you that the seeds? It bothers me that yeah, the birds 'cause these gray birds they get in there and they start firing the seeds around. They don't eat them, they just fire them on the ground. Where how's the squirrels? ⁓ picky birds. I if I didn't see a squirrel, I can't add another animal into the mix like. It I'm just dealing with cats and are squirrels common on the island? Are they around? Okay. Yeah. They're fine. They'll find they'll they'll find those seeds. Leave it to them. They'll find them. I heard Rumblings there's a raccoon around. I can't I can't do it. we had there's I sent pictures of of the rain, the flood that we had. Yeah. No no water in in the house, but like literally that field turned into a fucking ocean. Yeah. And that field's right by my house. And then within twelve hours all the water's gone. Wow. But there it all the seagulls are coming there now and eating the worms that come up from the ground because of the water. It's I gotta fucking mess up I gotta mess up birds and I don't know what to do. Now I thought one of you really didn't like birds. That would be me. Okay. I'm not a bird fan. No. I li you know what I like respect a bird. I'm like, I think they I like their talents. I like their attributes. I never would like to touch a bird. If I could go the rest of my life without having to touch any part of a bird, I'd be quite happy about that. I'm just a terrible human being. I spent multiple weeks on this podcast making fun of the guy with the dog. ⁓ he still walks and he starts talking him and Melissa talk now when we walk. ⁓ he doesn't like me, obviously, because I give him stink eye for multiple times. He doesn't like me. He lost his dog. Found out the dog was three. Well, the dog was only three when he when he dies. and he continues to still do the same walk. And I was like, he's a weirdo for taking poop bags and treats with them on the walk. And then I found out he just feeds stray dogs and he picks up any poop he finds in the poop bags. He's a god. So it's a hero. It's a hero, is what you're talking about. He is yeah, he is probably salt of the earth. I am a ⁓ the the the poop of the earth. You're the Grinch. I'm t I'm gr I'm the Grinch and ⁓ yeah. I feel like I stand at my little window above the bird sanctuary and looking down like at looking down at Hooville. Yeah, when I see him walk by and I'm terrible, I he won't talk to me, which I totally understand. I tried to smile, I nod. I tried to smile. Yeah. Smile like the Grinch. I and I just feel terrible. I have to mend that fence and I will try every day because I see him twice a day. Why? Our walks are s our walks are synced and he crosses to the opposite side of the street when he sees me coming. Yeah. There's there's real tension. It's all Brent's fault. Yeah, Brent felt his energy. Not only did I feel that way, I went on a podcast and talked about it multiple weeks. What's his name? Does Melissa know his name? Melissa knows his name. I don't know. The colonel. That's how we'll refer to him. I I don't I don't know what The widow. I saw him feeding stray dogs, and he he won't even look at my dog, the widow. Picking up other dogs poop is like that's a top percentile of humankind. That's how bad he misses his dog. Yeah, he's touching stranger dog poop. He's picking up dog turds to remember his name. He told Melissa he'll never get a dog again. ⁓ my god. I thought he was a dog trader. ⁓ He's just we was really into this dog. And he he offer he offers to walk all the neighbors' dogs when they're working. And he does that. How old is he? Late sixties, early seventies. Okay. So he's retirement age. Yeah, he won't even look at me. And I don't blame him. I bet you've hurt his feelings. Yeah. You got a lot of work to do here to fix this. Yeah. And I have to fix it because I have too much bad karma with the cats and the birds. I'm feeding birds to cats. I I gotta fix this. I gotta fix it for my karma. What do you what's the first step for you? The smile. The smile. Maybe a nod, then the wave. Gotta work your way up, obviously. My neck hurts from nodding at And he refuses to evolve. Gotcha. Let's see the smile that you'll use. Okay. I mean you're showing off. Is it in your eyes? You gotta reach your eyes. I always have sunglasses on. ⁓ yeah. Maybe put a hand up. Or salute. No, can't do either one of those because if I don't get it, if I don't get a salute back or a hand back, ⁓ he's he's gonna leviation off after a salute. No, no, no. But you've got to reach out. You have to be the one to be vulnerable. I will smile, I will nod, and I'll be receptive to communication. I will not. Put a physical hand up or salute because if I don't get one back, it's gonna start a whole new rivalry. No, no, no. But here's the thing: like you're gonna have to smile a couple times. Like, don't expect to smile back the first time. No, I've been smiling like I like a toddler who should himself. I've been smiling the whole time and it's just not working. How about this? I think this is it. You see ⁓ you crouch down low, you pick up Eddie's hand and you wave with h Eddie's hand at him? Like do that little like you have his hand in your hand because he loves dogs. It's gonna be really hard for him to to stay stuck up when a little dog is waving his hand at him. Or you could pick up their your dog's poop and hand it to him and say, I know how much you'd like to pick up dog shit. I shouldn't have told Kate that part. I've been doing this thing now and I don't know if it's helpful or not, where I go to sleep and I I put ⁓ I have a sleep mask, a Bluetooth sleep mask with speakers in it. That's cool. It's right here. This is what I put on. I can't put it on right now, but this is what it looks like, basically. It's awesome. Yeah, it's pretty cool. And I listen to podcasts while I go to sleep and I discovered a podcast and it's like they're like three hour episodes. And those are long. Is it Joe Rogan? No. Dan Carlin Hardcore History? No, no. It's I'm not gonna give any free ads. It's called Sleep Theories. And he gives ⁓ he talks about real life events. And after the second episode I listened to, I was Googling like crazy, like I didn't know this shit happened. Turns out he takes real life events and makes a story out of them. ⁓ but I so I fall asleep to all these interesting things, but then I wake up and like I woke up today at 4 30 in morning and just listened I thought it was Nate talking to me because of the podcast about Marilyn Monroe and her death. I was like, wow, Nate's going off on one right now. And then I realized I wasn't we weren't recording a podcast. I was just listening to one of my sleep. I like that we you that we've been in your dreams, or Nate has been in your dreams. ⁓ no, I I I texted you guys. I had a dream about you guys. We met and Kate was super tall. You lied about your your height to us all these years and we got there. You were like doing like that to us, like the guy, like the guy the whole time we met, and Nate had four babies. ⁓ I forgot I have four babies. And I was single dad. ⁓ you were so stressed, dude. You would put chicken strips on for them. ⁓ they're babies. And then you start spraying cookies down because you wanted them soft because you're too tired to chew. ⁓ they were for him? They were for cookies for Nate. Yeah. ⁓ I thought they were for the children. Yeah, me too. No, he was spraying cookies for him because he didn't want to waste the the the energy chewing. Because I'm so tired from all my babies. I mean, I'm gonna be honest, Nate. That is in the realm of Maybe some I don't know. Me? You spray it with milk. A milk spray bottle. This might be a great idea, actually. We might be onto something here, but we might have discovered something. All the babies had that like one little curl in the front, like a chimney. When you're a kid, did you drive a little curl of smoke? And I don't know why you have four kids. I got extremely mad at Kate because I thought she sabotaged my beer. It was a a case of twelve Keats Light. We opened the them up, they're all in individual boxes and they said Coca-Cola on them. I was like, ⁓ So I said that's but a kind of like a nod to Kate. So here, Kate, open it. And when she opened it, it was a coarse light. I was you did this. And then that was all. It was fucked up. I got to get off the opiates, I think. We gotta get you gotta get a Carl Jung book going on your audiobooks and see what's up. It's these pills, they're fucking me up. I I know it. Anyway, Easter Island, big fraud, not impressed with Easter Island. ⁓ listen to ⁓ a podcast about that they not it's not cool anymore. They weren't the big statues. Yeah. You don't like that they rocked them into place? This people it's ⁓ they had nothing but time on their hands. That's not impressive. If like your your whole life is dedicated to these things and then you fucking cut all your trees down to move these rocks and then ⁓ you got nothing to eat. ⁓ I thought the rocks that happened? Yeah. I th well they don't really know for sure, but they I think that's what they cut all the trees down. They had bad shit soil to begin with, and then they ruined their own thing. Either that or a ship from Spain came and gave them all flu and killed them all. Ooh, I mean whitey. The second one is probably No, I think it was Whitey. Yeah, colonialism. We do that. We do that. ⁓ but not impressed. I thought this the alien or I thought aliens brought the stones down. faces. That's what I thought the thing was. But then it turns out they just cut them at a rock and I was like, That's not cool. Did you have you seen the video of of how they moved them? People in modern day moving them. I know what they get ropes. Yeah, and they rock ropes and they rock it. And they look like they're walking. Illawwaddle. Not impressed. Nothing but time on their hands. I was I was impressed. I w I think it's cool. My I'm not. I don't I don't think. ⁓ last thing I had Two bits that I'm currently doing in ⁓ well one's a bit, one's not a bit. I I I sent a picture of ⁓ I grilled yesterday hot dogs and hamburgers and I made mac and cheese. ⁓ and I sent the picture. The one of the the hot dog didn't have a bun, the hamburger had a bun. And I knew it was gonna call it as a stir. Anyway, they asked why no bun. Scott asked why no bun. I said, because I had a tester dog on the grill from the grill to the kitchen. And he said, Did you use the bun on the tester dog? I said, Yeah. And he said, why? And I said, because I was toasting some bun, so I just I had the bun handy. And then I had to admit that when I cut open the package with the knife, I deformed, mutilated one dog, took a little chunk of it, so I ate that too on the way from the kitchen to the to the grill from the kitchen. So Scott's called me three dog night, because I ate three hot dogs. I don't know. I feel like three is the appropriate number of hot dogs. Yeah, three's my dog number. With a hamburger and mac and cheese? I'll eat two hot dogs, wait an hour, hour and a half, eat a third hot dog. Okay. Well that makes sense. Like a dessert hot dog, if you will. And I wanna say to Scott, like, sorry, your little baby stomach can't handle three dogs. Grow up little baby. Have some applesauce. Because he searches his name every week on the show in the transcript. And then every time he does, we're just making fun of him. I actually really like Scott and I think he's cool and I like that he gives you shit. Yeah. I like Scott too, and I I'm sorry that I always make fun of him for taking so long to become a lawyer, but you know, you're pushing fifty, bro. Let's get the courtroom already. He's gonna be He's gonna look like him. He's gonna be so mad. Let's do this. ⁓ Yeah, you got pussy stomach. ⁓ and the last the bit I'm the bit I'm doing now is I'm being sincere in chat and I'll like when people bring stuff up, I'll ask what that means. Like I pretend I don't know what it means. Like I ⁓ someone said it was their trip was comped and I said, What does comped mean? And then Did you know? Yes, of course I do. Yeah, no. This is the bit. I'm getting people explain things that are not so common, but pretty common. Like I yesterday I got someone to explain what DoorDash is. And I'm seeing how far I can go with it before I get caught. I'm being really sincere and asking follow up questions about DoorDash and stuff and comped. And I asked like how well I I asked how car insurance worked one time. It's It's going really good. This is a good bit. It's so good. And like 'cause they get so happy because I'm being sincere. And then like, ⁓ DoorDash did it dump like I know fucking DoorDash is. Do it with hummus. Next time someone brings up hummus, do it with hummus. That's excited. And and that's all I got. Well, it's time for the weekly report. Let's do the weekly report. Week, week, week week, week week, week week, week, weekly report, girl. ⁓ I got lots of stuff. ⁓ I'm 40 years old now. I turned four. I turned 40 years old. I I made it to 40 years old. Woo! And ⁓ in my little journal where I track my workouts, I like have a a a title. So I was like the when I first started working out, it was like just warming up week one. And then it was like getting serious week one, and then it was like the home stretch week one. Those were my like working up to 40. Now I've made it to forty. Now every header gets ferocious forty week one 'cause this is gonna be the ferocious my my ferocious forty. You turn into a wine mom. You're a wine mom with her shirts. That's that's exciting. I'm looking forward to my ferocious forties. You could tell you're not a gay man because I feel like it would have been like fantastic forties or like fabulous forties. Yeah. And the next like my even in my head, I'm like the next one. I'm like furious forty one. Like I'm I'm staying very masculine, very yeah, in my male energy. Yeah. Heterosexual. French kissing ladies, forty two. I've been building so much stuff that's what like basically the only thing I've been doing other than going to work is just building stuff at my house. ⁓ I fixed all the doors in the basement. I fixed up all the insulation and the walls in my room that leaked. I I saw something about a but a bulkhead. I built a bulkhead. What's what is what's what's a bulkhead? It's like we had to run, we got a new furnace two years ago and they had to run ⁓ he's doing it. He's doing what's a bulkhead. God damn it. God fucked. See how easy it is. I hate this bit. I changed my mind. I hate this bit. So good. You got so you looked up to the sky to think about I was so happy to be telling you about my great from my great work. You even sent a picture of it. I knew You know what it is. Yeah. Such a good bit. I hate this bit. It's a good bit and I hate it. ⁓ so happy. ⁓ so I did that with my leftover scrap, so I felt great because I was using I love to I like I figured this out recently where I'm like, what I like to do when it comes to woodworking and building is turn garbage into something that's not garbage. That's like my favorite thing to do. I don't like to use nice anything to make nice something. I like to make garbage okay. That's my from garbage to okay. So having just had scrapped wood, scrapped plywood, and scrapped paneling. And so I put all that up and it turned out incredible. It turned out so good. I still have to do the German stuff. Do you feel like that's what you do with the podcast? Is you turn crap into something okay? I think I turn I think I turn really good really good wheat into incredible whiskey. Like really good grains into we are like I'm going from great to great. This is Did you make any of your record holders? No. So this is I've gotten distracted. ⁓ you're just doing house stuff. Yeah. Yeah. Well, okay. This is this is how my mind works. I bought a bunch of flooring to replace the floor in my room, but ⁓ five boxes of flooring is like one square foot, two sh like not enough. Like I would have had to buy a whole nother box of flooring to cover the last square foot of floor, but I'm like, wait. I want built in bookshelves. And if I build the bookshelves right to the floor, I can lower the amount of floor in my room. So instead of spending forty five dollars on one box of floor, I spent $120 on lumber and I'm building built-in bookshelves in my room. Amazing. Yeah. And then it's all like every step of this is like, ⁓ yeah, the wood's not straight, so I gotta like straighten all like it's so much work. It's it's all like I've I've added so much work, but I'm so excited for when it's done, it's gonna look so good. You would have you would have been like the president of the Easter Ireland. they would have loved me cut cutting down those trees. Taking trash and making it. What is your what is your background? What's your your genetic heritage? Where did where do Nate's people come from? My mom's family is like ⁓ Eastern European Jew, like they're like Hungary, Poland, Russia. And then my dad, we don't really know 'cause he was adopted. He has like some information that's like I think his birth parents were Irish, but like in Canada, but like We don't I don't know anything about them really, so that's cool. I don't really want to. It's more fun to just be like, who knows? Yeah. Could be anything. You could be Hawaiian. I could yeah, I could be ⁓ descendant of Tutankhamun. You never know. You just never know at this stuff. ⁓ but one failure in my renovation is I bought paint. I bought a big jug, five gallons of paint. And the the color I chose is called ivory lace. That was the color I chose, ivory lace. I like sounded pretty classy to me. Yeah. It's it sounded it sounded suggestive to me. And I think that influenced me. Unfortunately, it's more like cryvory lace, because it makes me want to cry it's too yellow. And I gotta I gotta bite the bullet by $130 worth of new paint because I just can't I can't live like this. Marbrod. I spent the last few days trying to convince myself it's fine. And then every time I walk into the basement, I'm like, this yellow fucking house The fuck. So you've already painted you already. I painted one room, fully painted my room with it. And I'm like, no, I have to if I'm gonna paint my whole basement with this paint, I gotta I need ⁓ it's gotta be more beige. I need it to be more beige. Mm-hmm. No yellow undertone. You need a gray undertone, not a yellow undertone. Yeah, I need to I need it to be related to brown more than yellow. And we're gonna it's too yellow. Even if it's like ⁓ way more white, it's just I can't have this yellow 'Cause I'm in a basement. It's already it's too much. I need I need I need something that makes the light feel thicker, not thinner. The well yellow makes it feel thin light. That's how I feel. I like interesting. I don't like yellow on walls myself. No. Like if it's I could do like a strong yellow in a bathroom. I could handle that. That's like seems to me the only place. Yeah. ⁓ we're all forty. Paints to yellow, crybery lace. Speaking of fun word things, I've been reading ⁓ I've been doing all my D's. Drinking to dairy, ⁓ dancing. I brought back an old dance move last night doing the Invisible Ninjas. I forgot about Invisible Ninjas, and then I started doing that again, where you dance around and you I haven't forgotten and you hit Invisible Ninjas. But you I gotta make it look slick, gotta make it look good. ⁓ and I've been reading my Dante. And I've got I'm in the purgatory part, the middle of the three books. And I wrote down here purgatory, purgatorio, more like boring Otorio, because this shit compared to the hell. ⁓ my god. It's all just Italians. It's all just Italians that were okay. They weren't evil. They weren't good. They were like, I I did convert to Christianity, but I it was only a month before my death, so have to sit on this hill for five thousand years until God Gives me the thumbs up. This shit this is this is paced all wrong. I'm just I'm just slagging through it. I and when we get to heaven, there better be so many fucking naked angels. This better pay off when I get to paradise or I'm gonna scream because we started so hot. You're gonna see B Arthur naked right away. You would imagine though that purgatory would be the boring part, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I wanted to heaven with I want him to get moving here. They're like walking up the hill and they're like, they're really taking their time walking up this hill. Like, let's go. There was one really funny part where you know how he like loves Virgil. I was telling you where he's like, Virgil's the most handsome, best poet ever. He refers to him at one point, he's like, My father who is more than a father. ⁓ my god. I'm like, ⁓ my god. That's like that's quite the compliment. He's more than a father. What can be more than a father? I think we know. ⁓ yes. I'd like to do a I'd like to do some show and tell it's ⁓ display my hardware. As you both know, we lost the playoffs, but I did I am a a golden glove champion. Look at my golden glove. That is a nice isn't that nice acknowledgement. Isn't that nice? You have receipts for how good you are at softball. I felt it made me feel so good. And ever since then, I subbed in two baseball games and I've been such a stud with the confidence. I hit four home runs in two games, like bombs, like bomb, bombs. Easy. Made so many sick plays at short stuff. I'm like, in my mind, I'm like, I'm going for MVP next year. I'm gonna work out all year. I'm so excited. I started getting excited. I'm like, man, if I'm this good now, if I work out for one whole year as hard as I'm working out right now, I'm gonna be like A king. I'm gonna be the best. I I like to I don't think you did, but I like to think that you bring the trophy when you're subbing. Like I should put it in the bag just to touch it, just to rub it just a little before I get going. Maybe just put on the bench so everybody knows. That's what I was thinking. Yeah. Yeah, they're like, woohoo. This is what they're getting. Beginning the name they're like, who's gonna play where? And I just like hold it up. Well, I don't know if you need someone there, but I'm pretty good. I could probably handle shortstop if you want it. I would put take it to the batter box with me and put it in the box with me. But it's not for batting. Still, it doesn't matter. Still. Or you make some kind of necklace that you can hang it from and wear it around. That is. Well, he was really good until he started wearing his trophy. And then he broke his clavic claviclone. Is that right? Yep. ⁓ and then my final ⁓ note is ⁓ new recipe. I know Brad loves this segment. Yes. ⁓ this isn't just a recipe. This is a recipe, it's a destination, and it's a lifestyle all at once. I just want you guys to know a little something called ⁓ about a little something called honey cottage. Take a trip to the honey cottage and that's when you got a bowl of cottage cheese. Just put a little honey on top of your bowl of cottage cheese. Taking a trip to the honey cottage. This is it's the perfect meal. It's fat, it's carbs, it's protein in a little bowl. Honey cottage. It's a good recipe. It's a good recipe. You take some cottage cheese and mix a little honey into it. Take a trip to the honey cottage. So about how many w like a tablespoon, a couple tablespoons. I'm gonna say it's three quarters of a cup of cottage cheese and one tablespoon of honey. You could even go teaspoon of honey. You only need a little. So do you mix the honey into it or leave it on the top? I put it on top and then I mixed it in. I did mix it in. I thought about trying it. ⁓ Sunday style as you're describing, but I thought mixing it in was a little bit better. and I ate that twice yesterday. That's how good it was. I was like, fuck, time to take another trip to Hunt Cottage. It's an adorable name. It's an adorable name. I have ⁓ I have two spots somewhere. We walk the dogs, there's like a bunch of sunflowers, and we call that Honey Bee Alley or Honey Bee Lane. And then right next to Honey Bee Lane, there's a bunch of old craggly bushes that snails come out when it rains. And we call that snail alley. Yeah. Adorable. That's Honey Bee Lane to Snail Alley is some good stuff. I'll send I'll send some pictures. I'll send some pictures. You guys are actually living in a Muppet show. And that's the weekly report. That's the weekly report. Speaking of weapons, ⁓ we watched it's spooky season. It's October, it's the world's shutting down, getting ready for its reset, and we are going to watch scary movies all month. And it's ⁓ that P word for that you associate with Halloween is what? Psychological Psychological thrillers. Yeah, the bunch of fucking posers And peanut butter Ms. Yep. A bunch of posers, y'all deal pumpkins, and you're wrong. The P word is psychological thrillers, and I was my pick. I chose weapons. Kate, tell us what weapons is about. Okay. A third grade classroom full of kids doesn't show up to school one day, except for the teacher and one child. The families are distraught. There's videos of the children fleeing the house, running, like with their arms behind them. And everybody's mad at the teacher, thinking she knows something. The teacher is an alcoholic. She had a previous relationship with a police officer. The movie is split up into different chapters, each showing the view and history of different ⁓ individuals. And so, one of the dads is what's his name? What's his name? Josh Josh Brolin. Josh Brolin is a dad. He goes to confront the teacher. Th the teacher is then attacked by the principal who has asked her not to return to school because it's the vibes are off and they don't know what's going on. What we find out is that a woman who is Aunt Gladys of the boy, the only boy that was at the classroom is dying, and apparently she is a witch. And she asked the boy to gather a item from each of the children to help her feel better. And if she feels better then she'll leave. And if she'll leave, then he'll get his parents back because what she has done is is she has entranced his parents and turned them into zombies. And she scared him to do this by making his parents stab themselves with forks in front of him, which was terrible. So the kid does that. All the all the kids in his classroom flee to the his house and they're all living in the basement. And Aunt Gladys can do magic using people's hair and a stick and blood to control people and to get them to kill other people. And so at the end of the movie, ⁓ the teacher and Josh Brolin enter the house. The police officer and the drug addict guy who I did not mention until right now are in there and the parents and the boy. Ends up doing the magic on Aunt Gladys, and all of the children wake up or they go and they chase Aunt Gladys and catch her and they rip her apart. They rip her, physically rip her apart. They physically rip her apart, and there is a child narrator who explains that. didn't know how to explain ever anything, so they all covered it up. And a year later some of the children are beginning to talk again. And that's weapons. That's really good. You nailed it. It's a crazy movie and you nailed it. ⁓ let let's talk about all our favorite parts of the movie Weapons. Let's do it. They reps that Gladys apart and you can see her skull. Let's show some respect to the film. ⁓ it was a good pick. It was a great pick, actually, by me. ⁓ great movie. Krager has hit one out of the park on this one. This is ⁓ this is what scary movies should be. witches, sticks, ⁓ kids, weaponized kids. You're not using guns, you're just using kids. And th I think the reason this movie did so well is because of the run, the way the kids ran. Creepy, that's a big part of it. It's iconic. I my feelings about this movie are so complicated. Where like I both loved this movie and I hated it. Like, like watching it, I was like enjoying it so much, and also so mad that I was watching it because it was like so scary. ⁓ but it's like the mystery is so good, and the way it's put together is so good, and like That scene when the principal is just like running at her and his eyes, man, like that's it's crazy and it's like it's funny in like a bug's bunny kind of way. Like when they're ch chasing Gladys at the end of the movie, that's like straight out of Looney Tunes or some shit, but it's also like so horrifying. So like I've just felt strange ever since I watched this movie and I've been thinking about it s all the time since I watched this movie. I'm like, I don't I don't know how to feel about it. It's amazing. It I hate it. I don't know. I don't know. That's how you know you're in fucking good movie town. Magic is real. She is so like nonchalant about it, like that scene in the kitchen with the the two dudes, and she's like, A bowl of water, please. I don't even bother explaining my picadillos or whatever she says, and they give her the bowl of water, and then she just walks up to the guy and snips his hair. Like it's just so She cut my hair. It's crazy. And then he so the principal kills his husband by headbutting him so much that his Entire skull collapse in on itself. And then he he or before that, he pukes black all over him. That's it was too many heads. That was like one of the parts of the movie where I'm like, I could have handled four head smashes. He's like on 12. He's on 13. I'm like, it's too much, Craig. It's too much. You gotta make sure the job's done. You gotta make sure the job's done. I love the head hits, I love the ripping apart, using kids as weapons. People. People as weapons. That is a victimless crime. In a weird way. 17 victims. I mean, these kids are mentally and physically disturbed the rest of their lives, but sure it's I mean, look at the world around us. Who's gonna knock who's gonna come out not mentally disturbed of all the things going on? Could you ⁓ you imagine if you come out of that, what a story that is at a bar? You can't even talk. These kids forever. We don't know that. The parents were. We don't know about the kids. Kids are resilient. Kids are they asked back. They're gonna have a story for life. They're gonna be the most interesting. They don't remember that. They will not remember that. I just, you what? I hope they can be self-sufficient members of society. I hope that I hope there's weapons part two and it's just everyone going to work. I hope there's weapons part two and the kids grow up to be another aunc. Aunt Gladys. Everybody's working at McDonald's on their first dates. Yeah. Yeah. And it's fine. They're a little sl slow, but it's fine. I I'm a huge big fan of the POV style where it's broke up into chapters and everyone has a different point of view. I think that's smart. It's great. I think it's smart. I think it's snappy. And I think it keeps the movie going along because you're not watching one movie, you're watching six different movies in one time. You know what hard it is to to to make six different movies in one movie? ⁓ it's done really well too. Like they the w places where they decide to switch stories, it's all paced really well. I I like yeah, like how the the drug addict, I forgot his name, he went to go get the reward, but Paul thought he was coming to turn him in because of the punch, and that fucking ended up being their death. And I liked how people died. The principal died, the husband died, the Paul died, and the drug guy he died and they're not coming back. They're not coming back. No. That guy got his face peeled with a peeler. I've that was I couldn't watch that. It was too much. Well it's too much. Listen, I don't ask for much. I don't ask for much in in this podcast. One month of a year we watch some fucked up shit that you guys don't like to watch. I'm not you know what? I I'm not judging you. Even if it was October, I would have done this for you if it was my month. Yeah. Three I've seven and a half hours combined of watching guys fucking walk through a meadow with a ring and a fish man. I deserve this. This is fine. You earned it. You earned it. Speagle. He's very fish like. He's very fish like he likes eating fish. I would argue though that this is not a psychological thriller. ⁓ this is I would argue that this is the most psychological thriller. This is look at magic and witch witch stuff. Yeah. And that plays on your psyche. You can say that about anything. I think it's very it's it's a tricky category and we'll have some interesting scores because of that this month to be I think what do we each of us dis what do we each think a psychological thriller is? I think it was a clever way for me to get to get us to watch scary movies by coming up with the pea pumpkin joke and psychological. That's good. That was good. But I would argue that this is not a psychological thriller. That's all. I would probably say supernatural thriller. If if your gun to my head you gotta put this movie in a genre, I'm I'm probably saying supernatural thriller. Are we saying witches are supernatural now? They're yes. Do they seem natural to you? I think that's the most natural thing in the world. Because they're of the land, mushrooms and stuff. They're using what they're using the resources they have around them. Eye of newt. Yeah, they're using resources they have around them. They've been around forever. Let's talk about her hair and how gross she looked when she was bald. And she were they're trying to break. The hair was too much. I thought her look was too much. That was a part of the movie that I would criticize heavily of like, it's too silly. You know, like the lipstick. She looked too silly with those micro bangs. It's a bandwig. I think if you're if you're a witch and you're weaponizing all the local kids, I think you have to have that look. You need a big strong look. I mean, it's a strong look. I could tell it was her through the glass, the the foggy glass, just by her just by her sh like ⁓ shadow. I like that she gets in people's dreams to scare them. Do you think she really is the aunt of that family? That's a good question. She is. She's the aunt of the mother. You think so? She wasn't like pretending to be. No, no, she was the aunt of the mother. I think it's up for I I I I would agree with either if someone was like she took the place of that lady's aunt because they say something like, When was the last time you even saw her? And that's like Yeah, you may be right. I don't know. I I just assumed. But what else I found smart? And this is this is ⁓ from watching a hundred and seventy five movies, I picked up on things. I've become very, very smart when it comes to movies, and I've noticed thing and a lot of people won't notice what I notice on this thing, but The way Julia Garner, who was the alcoholic teacher, ⁓ when she was being berated by and stalked by the townspeople, she would always walk like like this to keep herself small. and you notice when she's driving, her her wristband on her watch is very skinny. And that indicates she wants to be viewed as small and she wants to not have a big bold wristwatch. Okay. She's small. She wants she wants to g like It's it shows that she wants to keep herself insulated in a small so she's not out there to be harassed. Yeah. I do have some beef though. Someone who's smoking or someone that's drinking that much vodka, their face is not gonna be that clear and exactly. Yeah. She drank so much. Yeah. We don't see strike me as an alcoholic. Her behavior does not indicate one of Like Jules watched part of this with me and she poured the vodka into like the 7-Eleven cup. And she was like, That's what you do, mom. I go, when have you ever seen me do that? She was like, You drink vodka. I was like, when have you ever seen me, first of all, drink it with soda or put it in a soda cup? And she's like, Yeah. What's in that DC can there? She always Roasts meeting. ⁓ shit, it's so good. It's my it's my favorite. I think about her in the last time we recorded where she's in the background just showing random objects. That's that plays every single fucking time. And she blew you out of the water. It she just mogged you big time. Also, another thing that I noticed that ⁓ made me smart is Archer. Did you just say mogged me? Yeah, she mogged you. Yeah, big time. How old are you, Brent? Listen. Know what that means. You're not the only one who stays up to date with the kids. Yeah, well, go go call some more people some studs. sh the red paint. He ordered the red paint by mistake, and he put the paint in the tr in the truck and closed the the truck, and it showed that it was red paint, and he painted witch on her car. I was like, ⁓ Jules pointed that out to me. I didn't catch it. I didn't catch that either. Jules caught it. She goes, ⁓ he's the one that did it. I was What do you mean? She's like, because it's the red paint. And I was like, ⁓ that's good. Jules and Brent. Genius. Jules and Brent. Brent is as smart as an 11-year-old. Or 11-year-old is as smart as a 44-year-old. Or that. Let's give him some credit. I did not put that together. Me and Jules. Now it's so obvious. Like, ⁓ of course. Yeah. We've seen Mogdas. We've seen Mogdas. You did see Mogas. and ⁓ it is cool that. She's dying of cancer and she's just decides to drain life force to to live. Like it's very selfish of her. She's a very selfish witch. It's you gotta do survival of the fittest. ⁓ finches, they they adapted. With their beaks. The finches, they adapted with their beaks to get the berries and grind yeah, grinding rocks with their beak. ⁓ it's five that's how you that's how the witches around so often. Drain life force. Brent, do you really believe in witches? Yes. There's stuff goes stuff it's crazy, Kate, what's happened around. So it's gotta be witches in Frankenstein's. Dracula's Draculas and Werewolves. ⁓ werewolves definitely. Zombies there are though ⁓ mummies. Mummies are real. Mummies are real. But they don't come back to life. Look at me now. Look up the Dover Demon. If you don't believe in things. Dover Demon. Do you guys believe in ⁓ Sasquatch? Sasquatch? Sasquatch, I I I think the most convincing thing I ever saw was this. video of this buffalo walking on a really down the road on a really foggy day and from afar a the buffalo looks like the Sasquatch. It's just like the way it's like big, like and they're so giant buffalo. I'm like, that's what the Sasquatch is. Is somebody saw a buffalo on a foggy day and I like, ⁓ Yep. And we the reason we don't see these people all these things that are are happening, we don't see them 'cause they all live in the water. Portals in the water. Portals in the water. Portals in the water. Trenches. That is true. ⁓ We we don't we have not explored that. Yeah. We know more about the moon than the waters with the portal. And they're all coming out. And that's where they go when we're I don't think there's portals. There's portals in the trenches. It's kinda like saying, Well, we don't understand the phases of the moon, so that must be made out of cheese. It is like that. It's not like that. It's Not even I no one talked about cheese and the moon. I just said portals in the trenches, Mary Arnold's trench. We can't get down there. Lots of stuff happening. Why would there be portals? Why wouldn't there be? Why wouldn't there be portals in the trenches? I'm open to it. We don't know. There's a there's enough unexplainable that I'm like, okay, I'll give it a one percent chance. Nate just feels bad that I said you're you sound fucking stupid. You would have been in the fifteen hundreds, you'd have been boring as hell. I would have been questioning everything. You would be just going along with everyone says. ⁓ I wouldn't be able to exist. I would have been burnt as a witch. Yeah. You think there would be mouth the sassy mouth stick around? Pitcher Collins almost stupid back in the fifteen hundreds. You'd be up on that cross in no time, girl. You guys ready for the weapons quiz? Love it. Okay, the weapon seven. Softball, speaking of softball, first question, easy, easy question. How many kids were in the class? Who goes first? ⁓ Kate, you're starting. How many kids were in Alex's class? No options. No options. You gotta say the number. Total, including Alex. Yep. Twenty one. Nate. Seventeen when missing plus Alex, that's eighteen kid class. That's deducing. What was gonna say, but that felt like too little. We didn't it's because you you know about the education system. They're like they're packing those kids in there. ⁓ 17. Like, what is this? Private school? What are we talking about? Exactly. Exactly. Is this a charter school? What is this? second question, same rules. You guys say the number ⁓ closest to. ⁓ when they take Alex to the police station to question him, they offer him a delicious. Whole can of Coca Cola classic. How many calories were in that can? One hundred and forty. I wanna go with one hundred forty too as well. Well, you guys are both Coke enjoyers, so you get one forty is correct. Do you know that there's there's one Coca Cola that has one hundred and thirty nine calories? Which one? I don't know. I forget. Yep, one has one thirty nine. ⁓ we talked about the red paint wrote witch on the side of the car. She was trying to scrub it off with soapy water. what letters had soap and water on them? C H what letters had soap and water? I'll even give you the hint. There were there was two letters that had soap and water. You guys give us the letters don't roll your eyes, don't roll your eyes. Too late. I have a guess. I have a guess. Is it my turn? Yeah, it is Kate's turn. H And C. I found it curious that she started from the middle, so I'm gonna say it's T C. ⁓ it's she went crazy style. She went from right to left, it's a left to right, so C H is correct, Kate. Catherine ties it up. C and H, which was I would have started with the W, but I mean I guess she's a teacher. Alcohol teachers think different. He ordered the wrong paint, Archer did, Josh Brolin. ⁓ he got red. And what color was it requested? The owners of the house requested a color. Was it ⁓ forest green, sage green, emerald green, or just green? Forest Green. Forest Green. Yep. It was Forrest Green. Congratulations. We're tied. ⁓ The drug dealer went to he stole all the cutlery from the zombie house and he went to to hock it at the pawn shop. ⁓ they showed a big stuffed buffalo head. What was hanging off the antler? Was it a bra? A tennis racket? A football helmet? Or sneakers. That's hard. Good question. Is it my turn? Yeah. Football helmet. ⁓ that's what I think too. I'm gonna say football helmet. You're both incorrect. It was a set of sneakers. They were hanging up by the laces. Gone forever. Can we get a score update here? Nate has three, Kate has three, Brent has one. How many questions left? Two left. Two left. Two left. ⁓ this is you have to name the actor. ⁓ one of these actors had a guest role to bring a like call back. We watch what they do in the shadows, ⁓ TV show and movie. What actor had a guest spot playing the necromancer in What We Do in Shadows? ⁓ whose turn is it? ⁓ it would be Nate's. Benedict Wong. Who the guy who plays the principal is the necromancer. That is correct. More like Benedict Wright. You guys are both correct. ⁓ okay. Last question. This movie takes place in Pennsylvania. I don't think we we knew that. What town in Pennsylvania did this movie take place? Was it Penn Hills, Maybrook, South Heights, or Otsville? May, whatever. Okay. Yeah, I think Maybrook as well. This movie took place in Maybrook. Congratulations, you guys are both tied. You now have a tiebreaker. And I know this off the top of my head. Closest to percent wise. This movie opened up very well, very strong, won its weekend, and the second weekend is usually when movies drop off. What percentage drop off did this movie have? It grows say seventy five million week one, week two, it grows whatever. What percentage less? Did it grow? Okay. I think this probably like it started good and then people were telling other people like this shit's crazy. You gotta go see this. So I'm gonna say it only dropped fifteen percent. I was gonna say I'll say ten. ⁓ you guys They're both way off, but there is a winner. ⁓ this movie had a 45% drop off into week two. Nate won. Because it's yep, Nate won. It scored so high in week one due to positive pre screening reviews. Congratulations, Nate. Furious forty. Furious forty. Now, Nate, you have the option for ⁓ Tober, we're gonna do a scary style. We can either sing your name, we can give you compliments, or we could give you constructive criticism. No, I'll go with the compliments. I'll take the compliments. I'm good on that. I wanna go first. Okay. There are very few men who are 40 that can pull off long hair. It takes a certain genessequa, it takes a certain lifestyle, it takes a certain energy for that to not be seen as not cringe. Yeah, cringe. Thank you. And you are certainly someone that can pull long hair off at 40. ⁓ look how pretty look how curly your hair is. ⁓ and fluffy. Why don't you wash your hair more? It looks so good. It literally looks so good. Yeah, I got nice I got beautiful hair. I got nice beautiful hair. I want to touch it. You understand why they always braid it. You understand you can't resist. As as your pools. my compliment is you something you talked about earlier in the episode is you you don't like using the fancy stuff. You take stuff that's other people discard or throw away and you find a purpose for it. Repurposing stuff is very cool. It is more cool than just going out and buying something and putting it together, ⁓ having vision to see something. for what it could be and not what it is is a great attribute. And I think that applies to the way you look at people and other things. And it's a great quality that you have. That's wonderful. 40th birthday. What a great segment, Brent. What a great idea. Really improved the show. Yep. Really did. Did really did. Just fucking glazing each other for fucking five minutes. Yeah, I give you guys ten out of tens for your compliments to me. ⁓ no, it I give you gold medals for your compliments to me. Would you guys like to hand out some medals for this movie? Let's do it. ⁓ I'll go first. I'll go first. I'll give out a bronze medal is going to Josh Brolin. he just of age gracefully, like a good old bottle of wine, looks great, plays a good role in this. ⁓ just a father that is proactive instead of just waiting for the cops. And it has nothing to do with that he's in doom. ⁓ I'm gonna split mine ⁓ between Clayton Ferris, who plays the stepdad, or the ⁓ the the husband of the principal, ⁓ because he's a very c funny comedian that I watch on the algorithm a lot. And also ⁓ Carrie Christopher, who plays Alex Lilly, the boy. ⁓ he did a great job. So they are sharing my bronze. Okay. I'm gonna give mine to Benedict Wong, actually. He that his his eyes when he was running at her, I like was like trying to figure out if they were fake eyes. Like if they were put some like things in his eyeballs to make him go like crazy eyes. Yeah. So either great work with the eye prosthetics or you that dude opened his eyes wider than anyone's ever opened their eyes in their life. So either way, bronze medal. I'm pretty sure these are prosthetics. I'm looking at photos. I don't know. They freaked me out. He might have did some great eye work, we don't know. ⁓ silver metal, ⁓ go into I'm gonna yeah, Julia Garner. ⁓ we most know her from Ozark and her funny sayings, I don't know fuck about shit. You know, and one of my favorite gifts is her screaming, You'll have to fucking kill me. love to use that. ⁓ she's good. She play she played a very small person in this because she didn't want to be noticed with her small wristwatch and her just cuddle like going in. I liked it. ⁓ she's she's good. Yeah, she's great. Yeah. I'm gonna give mine to Benedict Wong too. He just every scene that he's in, he kinda stole. So he gets my silver. He's really wonderful. I'm going with Brent on this one. ⁓ Julia Garner's gonna get my silver. I think she's a fantastic actress. I think she's next up. We s we say next up. We're gonna give her next up. I'd love to. I'd love to see it. I think I feel like she was like really hot. Two or three years ago and it's kind of cooled off a little like Ozark really she got a lot of buzz for that. I would love to see her get another big big roll. I'd love to see her get another big roll. They used computer generated imagery, CGI for his eyes. Okay. Okay. Yeah. Around three hundred eye bulging shots. They were really bulging and they were so scary and black pu They turgid. Yeah, they were very turgid. She has a good look. She has a good face. She has a ⁓ She looks interesting. She doesn't look like everybody else either. She looks like she's chiseled at a stone. Yeah. ⁓ my gold are we doing gold yet? Yeah, it's my turn. ⁓ hard man. Yes, no well, just keeping it continuity. ⁓ gold medal, Amy Madigan, Amy Happigan. That's why I call her, cause she played a witch incredibly well. No black hat, no crooked nose. That stereotype is dead. She put that the dirt with her red micro bangs and her wind suits. Wind never stood a chance. ⁓ she had the windbreakers. just sh. ⁓ and then she played sickly well. and then when she got the the Oscar, she ran like the kids up on the stage. That was she did. I didn't see that. Shh that's the old deal. Halar. That's very funny. She stole the show with that move. She ran on stage with the arms back. I walk around my house like the kids from weapons all the time. No one gets it. I get it. It's all that matters. Gold medal. Yeah, mine is also going to Amy Madigan. She it was phenomenal. I mean, I completely believed her. And ⁓ she is married to Ed Harris, and they have been married since 1983. And so what an amazing acting. Our couple. Ed was so proud too when she was giv getting her Oscar. I've never seen a man so proud of his wife. Yeah. This Ed. She, of course, it's a turkey sandwich. She has she, of course, is getting my gold medal, even though ⁓ she scared me too much. And I've been thinking about her too much coming out of the ceiling. I didn't like that one bit. Great. But that's a testament to her. That's what witches do. She was, you make a good point. Like she's she doesn't do anything like stereotypical witchy. Like even when she's being a witch, she's like being so casual about it. Just like, ho hum, snap the thing, make this guy beat this other guy to death. La la la. She's so scary. That's so creepy to be so casual. Yeah, it makes it so much scarier. Like this, she just does this shit every day. Like it's not she doesn't have to refer to the book. No no cauldron. She's got it. She wasn't boiling the kids. Yeah. Just using them for their life force. Great, great performance. Yep. Turkey Sandwich Gold Medal. I give us all ten out of tens for our excellent medals. Would guys like to give this movie a rating? Yes. Yeah. Come out? Could we two years ago, I think. Two years ago. I'm what an amazing Halloween costume. Yeah, I'm sure there were some Aunt Gladeye ⁓ during Halloween of 2021. Just a red wig and a and a windbreaker, and you're set like a little stick with some hair around it. The script for this film. ⁓ this this is a fresh take on the witch genre. It really is. It's a ten for me. ⁓ I like PL V style. Lots of lots of little clues and that you gotta pick up along the way and explained everything and it made you feel smart while watching it. Ten. I don't know. I it. I'm gonna give it a nine. There's something I can't put my finger on it. I think th the only thing that you could deduct points would be two things. There was probably ring cameras around Alex's house to see the kids running into that house. And if you're the police, you probably should check out the one kid's house that No, but there's that scene where they know the cops are gonna be coming, so she like duh she sends the kids out into the woods. Yeah, that's true. And I missed that on my first viewing. I caught that on this viewing. I'm gonna give it a ten because the thought that I had during this movie was like the mystery was good enough that even if it was like zero percent scary, like even if the answer wasn't which, even if it wasn't supernatural, or it would have still been like a really interesting movie to me of like What happened, what happens in like how do people react in a town like this? This is is they everybody would blame the teacher in this situation when the parents are losing their mind. So I give it a ten. I thought it really well put together. ⁓ the art direction for this movie, the sets, the props, the costumes, the wigs, the sticks. ⁓ you're you're you're you're telling ⁓ like it is, it's a ten. I mean d just the the the red hair, the windbreaker, the black ooh that They throw up the big eye shots. Her teeth. Her teeth banging. Stabbings of the faces. It's gonna be iconic for a long time. You'll know always know who Aunt Gladys is. You'll always know who I'm The running. I guess that's not ⁓ by giving it a ten. The eyeballs ten. The black puke. Yeah. The face peeling. That looked really gross. ⁓ that's terrible. The bottles of vodka. As a as a as a person who was required to wear blue gloves all the time. And when he got the needle prick, that was very realistic bleeding. That's exactly what happens to your finger underneath the glove when you prick it with a needle. It bleeds a little. It's ⁓ it bleeds a lot, but that little pool that happened and the glove wasn't ripped, I was very impressed with that. Ten. The music for this film. There's some good tunes. There's some Harry Nielsen in this movie. Whoa, this knocks it out of the park. Ten. Didn't rely on typical scary Halloween music, no witch songs, didn't play Monster Mash. They played just the some old school stuff, ten. I didn't notice the I just keep forgetting to notice the music when I watch movies. So whatever Nate gives it, I'm gonna give it. I'm gonna give it a nine. I thought the like score was a little bit boring, but the the Nelson was good and it was scary. So I'm gonna give it a nine. I will give it a nine. I I love that we're like a hundred and seventy some episodes or whatever, and this is a major contentious category that we argue about every movie and Kate always forgets to listen for I am focused on other aspects. It's the music's fault. If if it wants to get noticed, it's gotta show up. You gotta put on a shirt. You gotta have Portuguese Yeah. Yeah David Bowie. David Bowie. There you go. That's all they should have put him in the movie. That's right. Okay, so c ⁓ callback to what I said earlier. This is an American supernatural mystery horror film. So it's a supernatural mystery horror film. If we're going by that category, it gets a ten for me. It's the mystery is great, supernatural is great, the horror is horrific. That's a ten for me. I agree. Ten. This has this checks all your boxes for scary movie pen. And now Brent's category October is for psychological thrillers. ⁓ two words that are not mentioned in the Wikipedia definition at the October is for the word pee that you associate with Halloween. October is for the word pee that you associate with Halloween, not pumpkins. Yep. Posers with a real fucking psychological thriller. This plays on your psyche. Like, I don't know. Are scary old women in your neighborhood witches? We don't know. Are they just scary old women that just don't take care of themselves? This plays that's psychological to me. I'm looking at old women different to tell you that. It's I give it a ten. It's been on my mind a lot. My s inside of my psychology a lot since I watched it. And it was thrilling. Mm-hmm. Little kids. I'm gonna give it a ten for October's for the P word that's associated with Halloween, not pumpkin. It's a psychological thriller. I'm gonna give it a ten. Yeah, this is not a ten. This is not a psychological thriller. Debatable. Think about what a psychological thriller is. Yeah. Silence of the lambs. Yeah, that's very similar, very similar movies. Incredibly different. No, this is nothing to do with human psychology. Gets in Clarissa's psychology gets right in there. Okay, six days. These kids aren't talking for two years. They're just their psyche is fucked like Hannibal. Because of magic. Yeah. Okay. Because of the supernatural. We don't know. We don't well. That depends on what your definition of magic is supernatural. Maybe it's a supernatural psychological thriller. This movie gets a 47.7, a very good score. ⁓ let's let's be real. That's a fantastic thing. It's a strong movie to start a P month. It was a strong pick. And I'm glad I watched it. And I'm mad I Yeah, and that's what I hope for in all things. Complex. Yep. Like me. Like a like a glass of brown liquor. It's complex. Now we must choose another movie for next week. Are you prepared, Kate? I have options. Would you like me to have options? I'm ready or you're ready, so it's up to you. Why don't you go ahead? If you know one, if you have a then Yep. I there's there's one I'm gonna pick out 'cause I always like to you guys know me, I always like to subvert I don't like scary movies, so I gotta have a little whimsical scariness. I I can't be full web. It can't be too scary. I'm gonna throw I'm throwing the gauntlet down right now. It can't be a fucking if if it's Muppet Halloween, I'm gonna freak the fuck out to play it. If there was a Muppet Halloween, it would be Halloween. They should. I'm gonna maybe start writing that script 'cause that's a great idea. I wish it was. Garfield Halloween is scary. We're in the neighborhood though, Brett. we're in the neighborhood. ⁓ the the film I'm choosing is from nineteen ninety nine. It was scared me a lot in nineteen ninety-nine when I was thirteen years old. It's got s some actors in it like Christopher Walken, Christina Ricci, and Johnny Depp. The the film I'm choosing is Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow, nineteen ninety nine. Sleepy Hollow. Come on, that's that's pumpkin time, that's Halloween. Not gonna say it 'cause I never even heard of it. I'm I'm open. I'm very open. This is creepy. I remember it being creepy. Yeah, it's kinda scary. It's kinda but it's got the it's a l it's got the fun kind of scary, not scary. It's not a s they're not gonna sing, are they? No singing. No singer. She's the goat for me. She's my one crush. Her and Jennifer love Hewitt. ⁓ love Christina Ricci. Gonna enjoy. This is a prime Ricci. This is like maybe the hottest Christina Ricci's ever been. Prime Ricci is we need a t-shirt that says prime Ricci on. Fuck, that's good. Prime Reachy, I'm in. You what other Prime Reachie I like? Jack Reacher on Amazon Prime. That's a great show. Reacher. I love Reacher. ⁓ my god. We had my friends were talking about Reacher last night. We're playing Xbox and they debated if he was autistic or not. A hundred. Yeah, for sure. All right. But it's amazing. That to me is also competency porn. Yeah, Because of his he's so black and white with his ethical decision making. Yep. It's quite simple for him, this world. It's just like right and wrong. Yeah. Prime Rachel must be nice. Prime Rachie. Prime Rachel. Alright, so that's what we're gonna watch next week. We're gonna watch Sleepy Hollow. And that means all that's left to do is say goodnight, Kate. Good night, Kate. Good night, Kate. Three persons murder taken by the headless horse and taken back. No horseman, never was a horseman, never will be a horseman. Heads will roll sleepy hollow. I can't stop thinking about wheat to whiskey and like Kate changing her profile to like I'm a big glass brown liquor.
