Transcript
- 0:02[SPEAKER_00]: Time for the 49ers Rush Podcast.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_00]: And here's your host, John Chapman.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_01]: what is going on faithful?
- 0:37[SPEAKER_01]: It's absolutely incredible to be with you guys today.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_01]: Such a monumental day on several accords.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_01]: You have to start the conversation with Roger Craig and just what he has meant to this fan base and so many just this team.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_01]: I mean the 49ers history, legacy,
- 1:02[SPEAKER_01]: everything that they do is embodied by a human being like Roger Craig and getting into the Hall of Fame today, plus we're 33 days away from the kickoff, are you freaking kidding me?
- 1:15[SPEAKER_01]: It is written.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_01]: It is amazing.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_01]: And also, remiss, you know, as if you watch the Hall of Fame speeches and all those things, revealed that he's going through dementia, which is just awful.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_01]: It sucks and you hate that for
- 1:31[SPEAKER_01]: you know, perhaps somebody you never met, but somebody that you love because of just all the hurt and pain and glory and all those different things that you've gone through because of him.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_01]: And so at first off, just hat-tip, man, Roger Craig, such a great dude, where he belongs in the Hall of Fame, the original thousand and thousand back.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_01]: That is beautiful.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_01]: Then Kyle Shedahan returning to the podium.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_01]: back out practice without sunglasses that that's a new uh... development you know coming off the car crash and all those things and yeah i i don't want to get into the car crash we are football show we will be a football show i'm not where we're not drama we're not into that type of stuff that's going on out there
- 2:12[SPEAKER_01]: But it's nice to have your head coach back and on top of that, like he talked about how he's been doing everything that he usually does the film coaching notes implementation going through practice tape all those things which he sees as the most important part of his head coaching job, you know, the teaching mentoring, scheming all those things he's been doing it.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_01]: I think a lot of people outside of the media or sorry, a lot of people in the media have been making a little bit bigger deal than what it probably should have been and you got to remember since caution and showed up in 2017.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_01]: he has had every single installment and positional room record their meetings since twenty seventeen so now you have a ten year catalog of installing the same offensive scheme all those different things which a lot of the coaches have been here anyway right i mean the head of loyalty program is strong
- 3:11[SPEAKER_01]: and so they have all those things to go back and watch how did you implement these meetings last year so on so forth that has been there and i think that's huge as well so um and love to see that but just love it's nice to have Kyle back behind the podium we we didn't really get one of the all-time Kyle you know uh little soundbites that he does here's one for uh just for show that makes no sense i'm sorry
- 3:39[SPEAKER_01]: but it's just nice to have the head coach back that that is huge and you know hopefully he gets back to the full you know whatever they ask them are you gonna call plays during pre-season like doing call plays last year so
- 3:52[SPEAKER_01]: Take that for what you will, but that's huge.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_01]: This is episode 1,688 of the 49ers rush podcast.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_01]: We're going over a training camp round up, talking about Shanahan.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_01]: I've got to hear from not one but two rookies at the podium today, which I thought was really, really cool.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_01]: A Ramello heightened to Sean Striply, going to give some takeaways from that.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_01]: Things that we're seeing at practice and takeaways and juries.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yep, there are a couple new ones.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_01]: Nothing of major significance.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_01]: But have to say thank you to Cory Robbins, David Gill 49ers 365, the executive producers of the show, excited to be with you guys, thank you to the countdown crew, all the hashtag cc's, my man Phil in town first, appreciate you buddy, what's up captain, everybody's showing up, what's up, mosquito, you guys are the best of the best, David house is gonna be a lot of fun, as always, if you guys have any questions, comments, concern, throw those in the live chat.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_01]: We have time for those today, which would be a lot of fun.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_01]: I've been domestic as of late building furniture in the new abode Where we were before we had a lot of built-in space and here we do not so I am a sampling furniture I'm tinkering on the side late into Midnight hour building dressers and all kinds of stuff, but you know this this is
- 5:07[SPEAKER_01]: training camp is fun.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_01]: Because you get it go down a couple different avenues.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_01]: You've got 90 players out there, 40 dollars on that many practicing.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_01]: Probably closer to, you know, about 75 out there.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_01]: But whenever you're in season and you just have 53 players, the media,
- 5:25[SPEAKER_01]: only gets to see the opening warm up an individual special teams periods that's it.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_01]: Right now the media gets stay out there all the time and so it's kind of fun to see the one v ones the team who's winning who's losing back into the roster.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_01]: It's so it's always fun especially for us at the four areas rush podcast which you know we're doing our roster countdown series.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_01]: We don't want to just focus on
- 5:50[SPEAKER_01]: the names everybody knows.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's so whenever you get some of these viewpoints into the back into the roster and maybe the stars of tomorrow, the long-term development plays in the Fortier.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's a lot of fun.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_01]: And so being able to do that and jump around, I'm pretty excited about we're going to do some of that today.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_01]: Captain right here says Roger had me in tier
- 6:17[SPEAKER_01]: The Hall of Fame is it's pesky man and for the trials and tribulations that Roger has gone through on and off the field, you feel for that, you really, really do it, you know, one of my favorite coaching axioms and something that I used to, you know, my 16 years of coaching.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_01]: football does it build character reveals it.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to show you and everybody else who you are.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_01]: Now what you choose to do from that perspective It's going to let you let that's where you become a man.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I coach high school out Duncanville and places in California and whatever else but like
- 6:53[SPEAKER_01]: when you're losing and everybody goes through that, how do you react to your teammates?
- 6:58[SPEAKER_01]: That's the type of dad you're gonna be.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_01]: That's type of husband you're gonna be.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_01]: So, are you the guy that quits and walks out?
- 7:04[SPEAKER_01]: Whenever it gets hard, whenever it seems like it all is lost or are you the type of person that persevere overcomes rallies up all those things?
- 7:12[SPEAKER_01]: you listen to Roger you watch Roger Craig and it's just like it just it makes you want to live more dearly right more passionately to put more out there and that that's what's so beautiful about those speeches it's not just Roger he's he's hours right the red and gold but a lot of those speeches out there it's a beautiful thing
- 7:36[SPEAKER_01]: And especially getting the Hall of Fame speeches five years, sometimes 20, sometimes 25 years after their playing careers are over and they get a look back and make better sense and provide more context through the entire process that he went through as a player.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_01]: God, it's just beautiful.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_01]: It's absolutely beautiful.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_01]: And hopefully we myself, you, your kids, for some to watch that stuff.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_01]: Roger Craig speech with me.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_01]: We'll go do some fun.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go get ice cream afterwards.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_01]: Like dude, bribe them.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_01]: They're ain't no wrong driving kids.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully your kids want to see that anyway, but like, oh, that's just beautiful.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_01]: It's a beautiful moment.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm thankful to just be a witness on this side and to be able to share things like that.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_01]: Captain, you are the freaking man.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_01]: Ben, hashtag CC.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_01]: Congratulations, Roger Craig.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_01]: And 33 days to kick off.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_01]: That's what's up, man.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's just beautiful.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_01]: It is beautiful.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, David.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: It says best show on the web.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate that.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_01]: Fill up.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks for the super chat.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_01]: My man.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_01]: He was the first one in the chat today, too.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_01]: Hashtag CC 49ers have to be healthy by October 11th.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_01]: I live in Seattle.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_01]: I can't afford us losing here.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_01]: Especially with what happened in the playoffs.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_01]: That was rough, man.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_01]: That was rough.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, we've got to get one for fill.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_01]: We'll be up in Seattle.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_01]: So like, come party with us.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_01]: And if you've never made it,
- 9:05[SPEAKER_01]: Up to that stadium lumen field.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_01]: It's one of the best.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_01]: It's definitely a top 10.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_01]: I'd probably put it number six overall, but Such a cool downtown on the water stadiums awesome fans.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're gonna be a little bit more pesky than normal.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_01]: That's okay.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_01]: That's okay.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_01]: What's up Jack?
- 9:20[SPEAKER_01]: Jack's appreciate love seeing you in here blown away.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_01]: We haven't gotten a super bowl under hand.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_01]: This has been wild wild run so far with Shady handed
- 9:31[SPEAKER_01]: It's coming.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_01]: You just keep knocking on the door.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_01]: You keep knocking on the door.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_01]: You keep knocking on the door It's it's gonna happen.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, right here strawberry.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_01]: Shining in as it called plays in last two years in the precies and People like to make bigger issues out of the negative because that gets you clicks I get it.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_01]: I understand it.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_01]: We don't do it, but I understand why they do if your motivation's money
- 9:57[SPEAKER_01]: That's what you're going to go to and I hate that that is the case for some, but anyway, anyway Love all the hashtag CCs even if you're in a little bit later.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_01]: That's okay Glad that you guys are here.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, great to see Shena and speak to get today.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go Love all that stuff right here.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_01]: Dan John what percentage chance would you give Brock pretty going over 5,000 yards passing?
- 10:20[SPEAKER_01]: Oh
- 10:22[SPEAKER_01]: That's really, really high.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_01]: One, the 49ers have never, ever had a 5,000 yard passer.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_01]: You look at Brock Perti held the current franchise record for passing the arts.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_01]: 5,000 yards just does not happen, very often.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_01]: He threw,
- 10:44[SPEAKER_01]: 4,280 yards back in 2023.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_01]: That's the all-time franchise record.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_01]: So you have to add another 721 yards on top of that.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_01]: I would say probably 20%.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_01]: the over under and Brock party I think it's like 4,700 yards.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_01]: So that is there.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm going to say about 20% that Brock could do it.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_01]: If he stays healthy with all these new wide receivers, I think the 49ers are going to continue to transform into a passing offense.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_01]: The run game will always be there under Shinahan, but you saw it last year where Matt Jones and Brock pretty.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_01]: NFL pass a rating you want to look at QBR you want to look at it up amongst the top of the NFL whatever you're looking at a per game per pass basis I think it's going to adapt to that if the Sean Stripley can show up and and prove I'm going to say about 20% but 5,000 passing yards just are not normal in the NFL Yeah, I think there's been like 11 of them in the history of the NFL maybe a little bit more now That might be a older stat, but I take 20% I take 20%
- 11:56[SPEAKER_01]: Um, what's up, Joel?
- 11:57[SPEAKER_01]: Man, all the way from freaking the Philippines, great to see you, man.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_01]: Monkey, are we keeping three quarterbacks?
- 12:04[SPEAKER_01]: Does Roark look decent for a future backup when Mac leaves?
- 12:08[SPEAKER_01]: Adrian Martinez looks way better.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: There's no doubt about that.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_01]: Now, you've invested more in Roark.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_01]: You use the seventh round pick on him a year ago.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_01]: You redshirted him coming off the ACL surgery.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_01]: That was the plan when you drafted him.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_01]: I love, like, and again, if I was a general manager head coach, I am pounding the table for we're drafted in a quarterback every year.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_01]: It's just too important to position.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_01]: Now, might be a six round or might be a seventh round or late round, whatever.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_01]: Asia and Martinez is a better player at the current installment.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_01]: You don't expect the quarterback three to play.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_01]: So what is your long-term plan with that position?
- 12:49[SPEAKER_01]: Do you keep three quarterbacks and let go of another Titan?
- 12:52[SPEAKER_01]: Like, go of another wide receiver.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_01]: Like, go of a defensive end, because you only get a keep 53.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_01]: Will Curtis work pass through waivers?
- 13:00[SPEAKER_01]: Because if you cut them, somebody else can claim them.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_01]: These are all the questions that you have to go through whenever you're on the back end of your roster.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_01]: If you get to the third quarterback this year, you're not hoping for good things.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_01]: If Brock Party and Matt Jones goes down, whether that's Adrian Martinez or Curtis Rork, you're kind of screwed, I have more faith than Adrian Martinez.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_01]: I'd like emergency quarterbacks to have athleticism that can bail out because they're not getting the practice reps, but Adrian Martinez way further along than Rork.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_01]: Long-term,
- 13:32[SPEAKER_01]: You have to think Roark will occupy and efficiently operate the shit ahead system better than Adrian Martinez.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_01]: So the long-term play, if you look at 2027 on, your hoping Roark is that guy.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think any quarterback has shown enough to the point where you're like, you know what?
- 13:51[SPEAKER_01]: We've got to use a 53-man spot for that third quarterback.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_01]: I know the shit in hand loves keeping three.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_01]: With this roster competing for a Super Bowl now, no quarterback, Curtis Worker, Adrian Martinez has shown me enough to keep three quarterbacks.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_01]: I'm finding waving both of them, casting them out in the wind and seeing what returns.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_01]: And if it's not one of them, grab somebody else and then worst case scenario next year, during the free agency, you get the next Kyle Shatt Hand Reclamation Project to come in when Matt Jones goes and gets paid elsewhere.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_01]: So for me right now, I'm saying no, maybe through some roster gymnastics, general gentleman's agreements, you know, hand shakes behind the scenes, you can cut some of those veteran guys to Marcus Robinson, you know, Jack Jones, Nate Hobbs, that will not go through waivers.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_01]: And that would allow you to keep a Kurdish work so you couldn't miss them.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_01]: Right off the bat, I'm saying no, I'm not keeping three.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_01]: But if you get creative clever with the back end of that roster and get some of those veterans to come back because Curtis work, Adrian Martinez will not clear.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_01]: You know, they have to go through waivers.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_01]: Will they clear it?
- 15:04[SPEAKER_01]: That's a question.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_01]: that's a question.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_01]: How do you feel about that?
- 15:08[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that's a good question.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_01]: That's a good question.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_01]: Now, man, I do have to say this.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_01]: It's shout out to my bookie, they are back.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_01]: I am pumped with them.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_01]: And just they stepped at the plate big time for us this year.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_01]: And so if you are a better in any way shape or form, this is where you got to do it.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_01]: Football is back ladies and gentlemen, and whether you've been betting for years or you're just looking to get into the action for the first time, my bookie is where I'm playing.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_01]: I'll be sharing some of the spots that we're on and if you want to follow along with us, betting every single week, weekly, season long, you name it.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_01]: We post those at the 49ersrush.com, every single bet we do and on our Patreon channel, the 49ersrush podcast.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the thing, you get a pick with my bookie, whether you just want to jump in, you want to bet props, you want to bet over under, you want to bet who wins out right in VP, whatever sport, college football, and it felt doesn't matter.

- 16:09[SPEAKER_01]: So if you're new to the club,
- 16:11[SPEAKER_01]: Here's what we're going to do.

- 16:18[SPEAKER_01]: If you lose, you get it right back.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_01]: Plus a $25 casino credit.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_01]: So sign up at mybookie.ag.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_01]: Use promo code 49ers.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_01]: 49 ERS opt into our betback bonus and take your first shot with a safety net.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_01]: football's finally here.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_01]: Get in now and cash in with my bookie, but anything anytime anywhere, and I mean anywhere.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_01]: I bet in California, Texas doesn't matter where you are.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_01]: You can use my bookie.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I do have to update the 49ers week one game.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_01]: The spread just keeps increasing right now.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_01]: The 49ers are $4.00 underdogs against the Rams week one down in Australia.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_01]: So if you bet the 49ers to win outright week one, let's say you put the $500 down on my bookie.ag, use promo code 49ers and they don't win just outright.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_01]: You get all that money back with a one-time roll over which is industry best.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_01]: But if you do win, you win $785 cash.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm not saying put all $500 down.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_01]: That's all I'm saying at all.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_01]: But it's crazy what's out there right now.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_01]: If you think the 40 errors are going to come out of the gate swinging, that is there for you.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I do want to talk about the injuries.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we just kind of have to, right?
- 17:42[SPEAKER_01]: It's a problem.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_01]: Another hamstring.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_01]: what's the same like an apple of day keeps the doctor away it's it's like you've got to have something for hamstrings or soft tissue hamstring a day is the forty-nighter's way there we go around I did it
- 18:01[SPEAKER_01]: Luke Gifford goes down with a hamstring, which I understand Luke Gifford kind of brings on jokes a little bit because he was so bad defensively last year, but one of the best pro bull players in the NFL, pro bull team special, you know, pro bull or last year was awesome.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's just so problematic how many hamstrings are happening.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_01]: Let the NFL hamstrings, strains last year, last two seasons.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_01]: And you just continue.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_01]: You just continue to see them pile up.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_01]: Now, the hope is it's just tightness and not a true strain.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_01]: And they're just being percussious and all that like that's the hope that's the hope.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_01]: Now, you look at Mike Evans who did not practice again today with the quad string.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_01]: Now he's over shout out to RSF Niners, Raj, the freaking man, freaking clips of that and all that stuff.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_01]: Looking good, jogging through routes on the side, looking fine, Kyle Shininghand at the presser said, quote, Mike believes he could be back right now, but we're going to be smart with him in quote, love hearing that anytime there's a precautionary situation with the 40 riders in any type of injury, that is something to applaud.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_01]: And now you move on, you know, I don't want to move on just yet to both of but I am in the corner of I'm not overly concerned about Mike Evans really at all.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_01]: He's shown what he could do already in camp.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_01]: Use the extra time you're not playing for 33 days.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_01]: This is a vet that's usually get rest days anyway.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_01]: So if there's tightness, you just let that just breathe, allow them to get back to where he's supposed to be, then you know, in a week two weeks from now, get them a day or two and camp, slowly bring him back.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I want to see.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I want to see.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_01]: Now you look at Nick Bosa in the soreness still not out there and Kyle was asked about him said quote no he was doing great and got sore through individuals no concern something happened or a setback will evaluate why the soreness happened in quote.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_01]: The one issue that I am concerned about with Kyle Sheta had to be a back is that dude will lie through injuries, like nobody's business, you go back to the CMC it'd be ready week one, he might start week one and then not playing for like the next nine weeks.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_01]: Like Sheta hand will say whatever with injuries, but I'm providing the quotes and you can do with those, what you will, that is up to you.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, tutorials, I'm still not overly concerned.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_01]: And again, I talked about this in previous shows.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_01]: Nick Bosa is a month ahead of schedule.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_01]: You look at his ACL tear.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_01]: I was expecting him to start camp on pup and then kind of start doing the individual stuff after the first week of training camp or after the first week of preseason.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_01]: He's way ahead.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_01]: So dealing with the soreness, not overly concerned.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_01]: really, really not.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and I'm sure other people are, you know, I could do the show.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_01]: Nick both of may not be ready week one and make that the thumbnail and the title and, you know, thousands of clicks, but I think that's just hogwash.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_01]: In the fact that he's already been out there, that's huge.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_01]: What did Trent, Trent Williams say about Nick Bosa?
- 21:18[SPEAKER_01]: Dude looks better and he did last year.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_01]: Dude looks better than he did last year.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_01]: And so right here, big brick, I'm not at all worried.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_01]: Not even a little bit.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_01]: Not concerned, yeah, we'll see here, I'm scrolling, I'm loving all the injuries, love it, love it, love it.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, right here, Ben, back to our early year issue on the quarterback three, sadly, injuries may dictate roster numbers, three quarterbacks may not even be possible.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_01]: You got to see now, the pup guys, they don't count against roster plots.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_01]: So like, I don't expect Mikhail Williams to be back.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_01]: I don't expect George Kittled to be back.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_01]: So that's two spots you get a keep.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_01]: But then you start looking at some of the other ones.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, man, you only get so many returns from I.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_01]: Our spots, there aren't major significant entries outside of Ricky Pearsaw for sure in those names I just mentioned.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_01]: So what's that going to look like long term?
- 22:14[SPEAKER_01]: There's going to be more entries in training camp.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_01]: It's just going to happen.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to happen.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_01]: So you have to, you could have a plan, but, man, you've still got about 22 more days.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_01]: You've got two, you know, practices against other teams.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_01]: You've got three preseason games.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_01]: There's gonna be a lot more entries over the course of the next three weeks.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_01]: Before you have to cut down to 53.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_01]: Some of those injuries mean, guys will lose jobs.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_01]: We've already seen that, Khalil Dinkens, right?
- 22:45[SPEAKER_01]: Michele Kamara.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_01]: camp camp sample like you get injured you're on the back in this roster it's good by it NFL stands for not for long and that's heartbreaking now whatever you're talking about guys that will make the 53 and are projected to make the 53 those injuries all right now that means all right this guy's injured but we need them after two weeks we can't put them on IR but we've got to pull up another backup to get us through those first two weeks now it gets rough.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_01]: now he gets rough.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_01]: So the injuries and the process with where we are now versus what this roster will look like in 21 days.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_01]: Woo!
- 23:22[SPEAKER_01]: That's huge, um, that is huge.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_01]: Did, John, does my book you have an App or just use the web?
- 23:27[SPEAKER_01]: I use the web all the time on my cell phone.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_01]: I just use the web app and it's just one of my stored things that I've used them for seven or eight years easy to get money in and out.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_01]: I link mine to my cash app, which is like instantaneous withdrawal or deposit, but we've been doing a lot of withdrawals with my bookie, which is awesome.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_01]: So again, mybookie.ag promo code 49ers, you want to help us out, go check it out, never bet which you can't lose, never bet which you can't lose, never bet what you can't lose.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_01]: Michael, what's up, man?
- 23:55[SPEAKER_01]: John, long time audio listener, finally caught a live welcome, welcome to the show, welcome to the Thunderdome.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_01]: What's the word on Nate Hobbs?
- 24:04[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like I haven't heard a
- 24:12[SPEAKER_01]: Now, here is the positive in the negative.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_01]: You paid late in eight Hobbes.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_01]: I think like $3 million guaranteed.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_01]: You brought him in kind of big nickel type role that could back up every single wide receiver spot.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_01]: You brought in Jack Jones, basically, pennies on the dollar, not no guaranteed money.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_01]: And the hope was you wanted a more competitive defense
- 24:41[SPEAKER_01]: All three of your top tier corners, Dehomador, the North, Renardo Green Upton Stout, by the way, Renardo Green and Upton Stout had pick sixes today.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_01]: All of them have elevated their play.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_01]: How much of that is Jerry Gray, where he Morris, you have a defensive coordinator with the defensive backs, background, that's huge.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_01]: Corners are just shiny.
- 25:00[SPEAKER_01]: Renardo Green, Upton Stout, Dimo, whatever order you want to put them in are balling out.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_01]: So they have kind of stifled any type of conversation for
- 25:11[SPEAKER_01]: positional controversy or positional battle.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, those top three guys are it.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_01]: So that means, Nate Hobbs, it Jack Jones making plays, but you know, the practice has I've been at.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_01]: He's getting flagged a lot too.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_01]: That is the Jack Jones experiment.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, like the depth on the back side, it is huge.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_01]: You have five corners.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_01]: that are NFL ready to play, but Nate Hobbs not making a lot of plays.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_01]: He just hasn't done that yet.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_01]: My assumption is, him and Jack Jones are gonna get a lot of playing time in the regular season.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry, in the preseason, not the regular season.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_01]: And so if you do have an injury, man, you don't want anybody to get injured, but it's kind of a shoulder shrug, it's like, dude, we got depth for days at the corner pack.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_01]: So I've been covering this team for 10 years.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_01]: I don't, I can't think of the last time to have this much corner depth.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_01]: It's awesome to see.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_01]: I had man move Nate Hobbes to safety.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_01]: Let's little play back there and see what that to do.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_01]: They need help in that room.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_01]: Cornerback rooms stout get it stout up to stout.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_01]: No, sorry.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_01]: It helps whenever I explain it right.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_01]: of anyway.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_01]: You guys do it.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, what's up, Walner?
- 26:24[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you, man.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_01]: Always glad to see him.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'll cut my old teaching buddy.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_01]: He's a Cowboys fan.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_01]: Y'all give him a lot of crap in the chat.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_01]: Love it, love it, love it.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Logan, thank you.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_01]: Logan, get for very special to this team as least whenever it comes to special teams.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_01]: Love it, love it, love it.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_01]: Love it.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_01]: I'm liking the stretch comments in the chat.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_01]: You guys are crushing it.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_01]: Tommy, what's up, man?
- 26:48[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_01]: David Ballboy, the chat.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_01]: Niners own the Cal tricks.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, we will be out in California, David.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_01]: He's coming to the tailgate.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to have a good time.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_01]: And look, if you go to any 49ers away game, you got to come party with us.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to be in Australia, Mexico, Sydney.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_01]: We got two international trips.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to be in Dallas,
- 27:11[SPEAKER_01]: LA's on the horizon.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_01]: Come party with us.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_01]: 49ers for our show trip.com.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_01]: 49ers rush.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_01]: Road trip is going into its sixth year with over 40 events at road games.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_01]: If you are traveling to see the 49ers play this year, you got to come party with us.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_01]: And on top of that, we give games, trivia, giveaways.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_01]: We partnered with tick pick this year.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_01]: All you have to do is search 49ers rush on any of the tick pick sights, apps, you name it and on top of all of that.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_01]: best dressed, giveaways, autographed jerseys, kids are always included and get in for free with a ticketed adult.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_01]: And a lot of times for select cities, we will have 49ers legends come out and you get to meet and greet them and get autographed.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_01]: Vorrow Bowman, Frank Gore, Patrick Willis, Fred Warner, are all players that we have worked with in the past and trust me.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_01]: If you want to build the 49ers community, you're traveling by yourself, we got you covered 49ers
- 28:13[SPEAKER_01]: do chat out to the torisie says uh... the nine are so you case team to they on the media rights there uh... i'm wearing the freaking you know in honor of forty nine are faithful UK their back uh... they put out an episode go check them out on youtube where he listed a pot podcast forty hours faithful UK if you want to awesome accent with uh... you know chat the four guys it was also i love those guys lee paul
- 28:36[SPEAKER_01]: uh... dodgy and garrison they were alive with the you know haven't had a lot shows of late but as the season gets going add them to your repertoire they don't know i'm saying this uh... but i'd love those guys and i think they're coming out to Dallas too yeah after you get a love it love it love it now i want to talk about two rookies uh... you had two rookies get to the podium today remellio high and just shot strivenly which how great is it that those guys are practicing
- 29:04[SPEAKER_01]: And that is a big deal.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_01]: So remellos at the podium, huge positive huge negative.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_01]: He's talking through Nick Bosa and Mentor.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_01]: All that stuff said, Bosa's been a great mentor.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_01]: They kind of press them once he teaching you.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_01]: And he said little things, keys and footwork, which I'm just like, ah, and that's kind of what Nick Bosa's the best at.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_01]: He and usage, which I thought Remelo plays really, really good with his hands is tape at Texas Tech.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_01]: What is it that you're trying to work on and improve on, gaining more space in that very first step?
- 29:42[SPEAKER_01]: which is the GTFO and the Burst, Romellos, the Bend, the Burst, he's off the charts in those things.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_01]: And just trying to get more of that kind of track start.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_01]: We used to always work track, get off out of the blocks and stuff with our sprinters and just, man, just need drive getting that up, taking space, love hearing that, just because he's good at it, doesn't mean he can't get better at it.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_01]: Now positive quotes.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_01]: He talked about quote being where my feet are in quote multiple times.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_01]: I love hearing that.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_01]: Not getting involved with the big picture.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_01]: Be where you are.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_01]: Be present.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_01]: I love that.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_01]: I love that.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_01]: I love that.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_01]: I hate the negative talked about his biggest challenge was being moved all over the place and learning so many different spots.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely
- 30:34[SPEAKER_01]: love that he's working on that burst hate that you're complicating things for this rookie.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_01]: You talk to the defense of backs and what do they say?
- 30:42[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's so easy.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_01]: You don't have to think.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_01]: You just play.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_01]: You just play.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_01]: You just play.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_01]: I wanted Ramello height to be under the start of training camp in the beginning of the season.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, just rush the day and pass or don't worry about anything else.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_01]: That's the biggest weakness on the 49ers team.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_01]: Lack of past rush.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_01]: Now you drafted a past rush specialist.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like that.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_01]: I really don't.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_01]: Um, so positives and negatives give some flow.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_01]: Ebs and flows is what it is.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like the fact that they're moving Ramello all over the place.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like the fact that Ramello's learning multiple spots.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like simplify past rushes.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_01]: What he should be doing.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_01]: Simplify past rushes.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_01]: What he should be doing.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_01]: That's just me.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_01]: Um, that's just me.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like that.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_01]: Now, there were reports today that he jumped off sides multiple times doing spin moves and one on one drills.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_01]: I hate that.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like that.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_01]: You can use the spin move.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_01]: And if you're to white-free, you do whatever the hell you want.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_01]: Don't like spin moves from past Russia.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_01]: I hate turning my back to the quarterback.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_01]: Bad things happen.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_01]: To be honest with you, you go through a Melo Heights tape, which if you want to see that go to the 40A
- 32:00[SPEAKER_01]: You don't see a lot of good spin moves.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, you try some of that stuff in practice, but just some negatives, pet peeves of mine, do what that what you want, do what that what you want.
- 32:14[SPEAKER_01]: David, right here, where is the watch party in Dallas?
- 32:17[SPEAKER_01]: We are gonna be at Texas Live, right in front of Ranger Stadium the day before from 2 to 6.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_01]: And then we have our all-inclusive tellgay, all of the maps and everything that's up at 49ersrushroadtrip.com.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_01]: You click on Dallas to tellgay, premium tellgay, we're going to have barbecue drinks, bartenders, you name it, not just beers, not just you know whatever sodas, we're going to have bartenders out there.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be one of our biggest tellgays we've ever thrown.
- 32:43[SPEAKER_01]: Um, we are right by the stadium right next to the Walmart.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_01]: We have enough space for a ridiculous amount of people.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be the largest tailgate we've ever thrown.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_01]: But if you want to see the exact location and address and where that is, just go to 49ers rushrochuk.com.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_01]: You click on the Dallas tailgate.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_01]: You see the map exactly where it is, the times you name it.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_01]: That is all up there, same for the day before events, all of our addresses.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_01]: our locations are up.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_01]: So you know exactly where they're going to be.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_01]: We have premium premium spots.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_01]: We paid a pretty pity for those.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_01]: Shout out to Scott, an ex-group hospitality for helping us with that.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_01]: We've been partners with them for a long time.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_01]: They're the best.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_01]: They are the best.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_01]: Now let's talk dribbly.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_01]: the chance to have a one, it's just great to have him back again back to the idea of being preemptive with holding guys out with injuries.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_01]: That is huge.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_01]: That is a new addition.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_01]: You like that.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_01]: Stripling gets a hamstring.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_01]: Again, hamstring a day.
- 33:39[SPEAKER_01]: It's a 49er's way.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_01]: I hate that I've said that twice.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_01]: It's a little catchy.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_01]: I might say it a lot more times.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_01]: But he only missed five days.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't miss weeks.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't miss months with hamstring and
- 33:55[SPEAKER_01]: gets up to the podium and just talks about working on being a reliable choice for Brock Perti and he was asked how do you do that get an open catch in the ball.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_01]: Unbelievable handsome the best hands of any wide receiver coming out of the draft now getting open and space creating that wasn't really his repertoire especially at all miss that stupid weird offense where it's all hitch routes and you know double moves and whatever else.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_01]: But to Sean Stripley, it has looked the part early on and consistently at practice at OTA's training camp.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_01]: He just keeps checking boxes as this is an NFL wide receiver, the size, the speed, the hands, my favorite thing on him.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, personality and demeanor.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_01]: Confidence and maturity just, who's out of this, dude?
- 34:47[SPEAKER_01]: Like, fathers in the, you know, Marine Corps,
- 34:51[SPEAKER_01]: nothing's too big for it became a captain and the SEC day one for Ole Miss and that's a pretty damn good squad they went pretty damn deep in the playoffs large part because of him there's just so much about you and he was a rush crush guy you know he was one of the guys that I just kept screaming this is going to be a great football player did I have him going 33rd overall I did not we had a third round great on him but you got a guy that a lot of people loved
- 35:20[SPEAKER_01]: It's just so far passing the eye test.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see what happens long term.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_01]: But gosh, it's so easy to get behind the Sean Struggling, there's to be like, yeah, this guy, this guy.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_01]: talked about how he's working on being more physical at the top of his routes which he's always been physical there but he's trying to improve they said you know my given's working with them on that and more physical at the catch point which he is he's always been great at that doesn't mean you can't improve and so again you look at the Sean Stribbling you look at Ramello height your two top rookies coming into this draft class
- 35:53[SPEAKER_01]: Both of them are working on things that they already excelled at the college level, not being content with what you've done.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_01]: Ramello working on gaining more space, more speed on that first step, to Sean Strybling, who's 6-2-2-10, being more physical.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_00]: He's already physical.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_01]: those are huge positives.
- 36:14[SPEAKER_01]: You could choose to focus on the negatives.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_01]: I hate that they're moving both those guys around to all all these different spots little perfect one and move on, but the Niners have a different way.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_01]: Reese.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_01]: white and heights and Sam are going to have to produce with Williams being out.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's on Keon white, Ramello height and Samo.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_01]: Samo's had a great camp.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he did get banged up, but he's already back out there.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_01]: Keon whites been greatly.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_01]: He's been banged up a little bit.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_01]: Heights, you know, kick cart off of cramps, but that's in the past now.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're going to step up.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_01]: Um, you, you, my Kel Williams coming back.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's going to take a month.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe a little bit longer.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, Dave, OST that next to Walmart in Texas.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_01]: No way.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_01]: That will be interesting.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_01]: There we go.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_01]: The fly and Hawaiian or strip club.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, I like all of these names.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_01]: And hopefully Christian Kirk can return soon.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_01]: Capturing man.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_01]: He's, that was not preemptive.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_01]: He's, he's, he's missed weeks already.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_01]: But 15 getting those snaps.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_01]: And so there you go.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_01]: And 15 getting those snaps.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_01]: I think that that's a big deal.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_01]: And right here in the Tories, yeah, let's hope strip stays out of the dog house.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_01]: That's a big deal to Sean the Phenom.
- 37:31[SPEAKER_01]: Ooh, I like that big brick.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_01]: I like it.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_01]: Jordan Walkins has been good to with limited opportunities.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_01]: The practices I've been at, I don't know.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_01]: Jordan Walkins in Jacob Cowain are very,
- 37:45[SPEAKER_01]: incomplete wide receivers to say the least.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_01]: And they're kind of a pick your poison type wide receiver.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I don't know.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_01]: Me and Larry shout out to Larry Krueger, he's freaking crushing it.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_01]: That dude's working harder than anybody.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_01]: He's so good.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_01]: We completely disagree on this.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_01]: He thinks Jacob Cowling has been terrible at camp.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_01]: I think Jordan Walker has been terrible at camp.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think either one of those two guys have really done a lot to cement their position on this roster.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_01]: I think Jacob County a little bit more so because of what he's done in the punt game.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_01]: And again, he's the first one up there in punt return.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you might have Debo returned some ponds, but you know, if I am a betting man, I would bet Jacob County in his way ahead of Jordan Walkins currently.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_01]: I could be wrong.
- 38:38[SPEAKER_01]: I've been wrong before.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_01]: My wife would tell you that.
- 38:42[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I don't know.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_01]: Jordan walkins gets open way better than counting there is no doubt about that like the separation is definitely on Jordan walk inside special teams hands like it's I don't know I'm not a Jordan walkins guy I wasn't when he was drafted I think he's a vertical separator he could get horizontal separator just so weak at the catch point
- 39:12[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, um, one of those guys probably going to make it, but I would put Jacob Cowling ahead personally, and I'm okay being wrong, and it's not like I'm rooting against Jordan walkins.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_01]: I just struggle with somebody that the ball has to be put perfect spots for him to catch.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like that, but he is getting a lot of separation on his routes, like maybe the most on the, on any 49ers wide receiver, like he gets the separation, but
- 39:41[SPEAKER_01]: throws a little behind, a little high, a little low.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_01]: That's where the struggle comes in.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_01]: Crazy juice says walk-ins ahead of Cowling.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's not my job to say which one you got to go with.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_01]: I love present the context through the perspective that I have, then you guys decide.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_01]: And we'll see what happens whenever it comes up to training camp.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_01]: If walkage makes it over cowling, I will be happy with that.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_01]: If cowling makes it over walkage, I will be happy with that.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I don't have stock in either one of them.
- 40:12[SPEAKER_01]: My own personal is cowing has outperformed walkage at the camps I've been at.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_01]: That's just me.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_01]: I'll look at this, notorious just coming in clutch with these Nick, MTV Stribs.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_01]: This is where the magic happens.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_01]: That is awesome.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_01]: Slicks has Cowings getting cut.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_01]: You guys got the hip flexor injury now.
- 40:33[SPEAKER_01]: And if he stays out for a while then yeah, I would start to lean that way for sure.
- 40:39[SPEAKER_01]: For sure for sure.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see here.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's not like we've seen a lot of production for both of them bright.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_01]: You haven't seen any.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_01]: You haven't seen any.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I would argue Cowin has shown so much more.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_01]: He was the parent turner for a four year at least had that one 50 yard catch nothing after that.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_01]: I think you had like two receptions for Jordan Walkins that was it.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_01]: But Cowings been with the team for two years had the two major hamstring injuries last year, hamstring a day, 49ers weight.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_01]: Watkins is now in his second year, so we'll see that.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_01]: Ben, shout out to Ben.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_01]: He's crucial to what we do here with the 49ers' response kit.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_01]: Coming to the draft, I'll thought, count him surprisingly strong at the catch, now agreed, especially given his side.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_01]: Remember, Jacob, count him in his second all-time in NFL or NCAA history with continuous catches per game.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_01]: Like, our consecutive games with a catch, that's the correct way to phrase it.
- 41:41[SPEAKER_01]: and consistency that Cowain has shown throughout his career is historic.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_01]: With multiple teams, Jordan Walkers was in that crappy Ole Miss offense, just hitches and goes, hitches and goes, hitches and Jacob Cowain didn't even start until he had not one but two wide receivers get injured.
- 41:57[SPEAKER_01]: Try Harris ahead of him.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_01]: I do like Jordan Walkins, and he can't stack vertically, but did you go add my Kevin's, who's the number one X wide receiver in the NFL over the past decade, and you add to Sean Stribbling, who's a vertical burner too, so it's a little redundancy.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_01]: He's kind of a casualty of redundancy with the new additions to the wide receiver room.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_01]: That's just me.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_01]: Jordan, I could understand the guys who have been here for years, but the rookies get into it too, yeah.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, sorry.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_01]: You're talking to, yeah, guys, we're a football show.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not diving into the substation.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not diving into car wrecks.
- 42:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not diving into players' Instagrams.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_01]: That's just not my thing.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_01]: Not discounting it.
- 42:41[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_01]: I know football, so I'm gonna talk football.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_01]: And so like that's my take on the issue.
- 42:47[SPEAKER_01]: It's not like I'm dodging it.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_01]: I just wanna do a football show.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_01]: I don't disagree.
- 42:54[SPEAKER_01]: It's ridiculous to see the connects to freaking mort or for your practice facility.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_01]: Just get to get to fuck out of Santa Clara.
- 43:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's the worst place ever for a football team to have a stadium.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_01]: No, not taking shots in Santa Clara.
- 43:08[SPEAKER_01]: I'm taking shots in Santa Clara for not being a football host city at all.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_01]: It never was built for that.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_01]: It was built for office spaces.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_01]: That's why it exists.
- 43:17[SPEAKER_01]: Have office spaces there.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_01]: Not football stadiums, get the hell out of that place.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_01]: Where's location of an NFL stadium in the NFL?
- 43:26[SPEAKER_01]: I've been to 26.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_01]: It is the worst, like orchard park's better.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_01]: Orchard park sucks.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, so not, I just want to talk for ball guys, Logan to shan the gun, stripping dude y'all are killing this with these names, man, I love it, absolutely love it, awesome, awesome, appreciate your reach, yeah, Levi's location is such a joke, man.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_01]: such a joke now here are some more training camp tidbits that i have gathered that i want to share um jake tages just continues to impress now it is important to understand tages is still drastically behind
- 44:07[SPEAKER_01]: Luke Feral at the tight end position is Luke Feral with the ones Jake Tonjus with the twos.
- 44:12[SPEAKER_01]: Now sometimes when you go to tight ends, Tonjus gets reps with the ones, but that doesn't happen a lot.
- 44:17[SPEAKER_01]: Has not been a lot of 12 personnel in camp.
- 44:21[SPEAKER_01]: It's been a lot of 21 personnel, a lot of 11 personnel, not a lot of 12s.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_01]: When George Kittle comes back, that changes.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, there has been some 12 person though, but not like what we're used to seeing.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_01]: It's been a lot of 21, 2backs, one tied in, or 11, one back, one tied in, some 12, not a lot of 12.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_01]: Um, do with that, what you will, but Jake Taunch has been awesome.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_01]: He should be getting reps with the ones.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_01]: He is better than Luke Feral and Luke Feral has been playing a bigger role in the passing game.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_01]: It does seem like Brock Perti and him have built up, you know, and the trust factor is there.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but conscious to red zone threat dude.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_01]: Just red zone threat shout out to RS F9ers Um, who also said, you know, the offense lacked rhythm today, which kind of makes sense up and Stout had a pick six, the almond door, the North had a pick six and red zone may go talk to about that Off it's kind of struggling, but when the defensive backs are dominating
- 45:22[SPEAKER_01]: That's what you're going to get offensive line struggling.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_01]: Connor Colby, getting dominating one V once today versus James Thompson Jr., sounds like James Thompson Jr., is taking everybody to the wood shed.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_01]: Six, six, just big old, undrafted free agent, just showing something, shout out to Noah Furtado for that clip.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_01]: And then Enrique Cruz, struggling as well, consistently, haven't really seen Enrique Cruz do much good in camp, but he's a developmental play.
- 45:49[SPEAKER_01]: Now Brad, Graham, get better, brother.
- 45:52[SPEAKER_01]: And he said he thinks Enrique Cruz might get cut.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_01]: Fourth and fifth round picks don't get cut often.
- 45:59[SPEAKER_01]: Now, can the Niners stash some of these guys?
- 46:03[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe you're putting Enrique Cruz on IR, he has a mysterious injury, put him on IR before the 53 man cut.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_01]: He's a project play anyway.
- 46:11[SPEAKER_01]: I would not be shocked if Carver Willis or Enrique Cruz or both.
- 46:17[SPEAKER_01]: get some type of shanahan injury, and just get put on IR to come back next year.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_01]: Wouldn't that be shocked?
- 46:23[SPEAKER_01]: Wouldn't that be shocked at all?
- 46:25[SPEAKER_01]: Just to help with numbers, those guys ain't playing this year anyway, they're so raw, they were development-up picks from the start, they're like, how it?
- 46:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's the first offensive tackle the Niners have drafted four NFL drafts in a row.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_01]: Only team in the NFL that can say that.
- 46:40[SPEAKER_01]: They finally drafted one and now they're going to cut them.
- 46:42[SPEAKER_01]: They may never draft a tackle again.
- 46:46[SPEAKER_01]: Come on in Riki.
- 46:48[SPEAKER_01]: You were the chosen one.
- 46:51[SPEAKER_00]: You were supposed to pre-balance to the force.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, the high ground.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_01]: Riki crews, come on buddy, we're all counting on you.
- 47:01[SPEAKER_01]: Just want to know we believe in you.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_01]: and we're all counting on you.
- 47:05[SPEAKER_01]: Man, there we go.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_01]: Back to back Star Wars to airplane references.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_01]: Come on guys.
- 47:11[SPEAKER_01]: We need you in the chat.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_01]: You got to pick out the references.
- 47:14[SPEAKER_01]: But in Rika Cruz, like it's rough, Vadarian low with a high ankle spring.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_01]: He's probably got the second most severe injury so far, like obviously, Rika Pierce all but that's a past injury that the health of fitness that didn't catch.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_01]: Vadarian low with a high ankle spring could be six to eight weeks and then you got Christian Kirk with, you know, the calf strain that could be two to six weeks.
- 47:37[SPEAKER_01]: not mentioning guys that have been waived and put on IR for the year, Mikhail Kamara, those guys, but as far as guys that are still on the roster, Vaterian low, open the window for Enrique Cruz to come in and still the job.
- 47:53[SPEAKER_01]: He has not done that, that door is wide open.
- 47:55[SPEAKER_01]: So much so there's still practicing and trying out offensive linemen, the 49ers are.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_01]: The end of the door is execute order 49, I like that.
- 48:05[SPEAKER_01]: I like that, um, that's awesome.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a little behind on the chat.
- 48:09[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I got to scroll up.
- 48:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I've got to click this one.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_01]: I have to cowboys, hate them, hate them, hate them.
- 48:14[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody hates them.
- 48:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's just what it is.
- 48:16[SPEAKER_01]: Not taking, I guess I am taking shots at Jed York.
- 48:18[SPEAKER_01]: Like the choice to move to Santa Clara benefited Jed York.
- 48:23[SPEAKER_01]: They, he got all that money from it.
- 48:26[SPEAKER_01]: Logan, I'm also happy Nick Martin is taking most of his
- 48:33[SPEAKER_01]: he has passed the eye test.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, don't talk trash, David.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_01]: He says there's, you know, there's New Stadium in Dallas.
- 48:41[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, you're not even in Dallas, you're the early to.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_01]: Jerry Jones started this bullshit that all the NFL owners are doing because they care about money more than they care about the fan base and the climate and the culture for fans.
- 48:54[SPEAKER_01]: Jerry Jones started this shit.
- 48:56[SPEAKER_01]: by holding all the different city councils hostage against each other for fear of losing the freaking Dallas cowboys like they're not they're in Arlington San Francisco 49ers are in Santa Clara and it's all about freaking socialized costs make all these stupid cities pay for a billionaire owner to move their stuff there and then privatize cost and they get to keep it all.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_01]: It is absolutely horrible the fans get screwed the owners get richer.
- 49:29[SPEAKER_01]: I am not a billionaire bootlicker.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 49:31[SPEAKER_01]: David isn't either, uh, but any time I can make fun of David, I'm going to do it.
- 49:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's our love language.
- 49:36[SPEAKER_01]: Miss you, Dad.
- 49:38[SPEAKER_01]: RTP of all the minutias, a wasted time, energy and effort.
- 49:42[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_01]: Lo Scotsos in the House, love it, love it, love it, love it, love it, um, dude.
- 49:49[SPEAKER_01]: I have been to Cowboy Stadium several times for 49er's games.
- 49:54[SPEAKER_01]: Faithful show out, man.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_01]: The faithful show out.
- 49:58[SPEAKER_01]: All those Cowboys fans sell their tickets when the 49ers come because we could pay.
- 50:02[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, I was there for the playoff game.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_01]: Those nine of fans took over that damn stadium there.
- 50:08[SPEAKER_01]: And now the Cowboys fans travel.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_01]: And I would argue that Cowboys fans have had the best showing at Levi's of any opposing fan base of Cowboys fans travel.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_01]: It's what it is, but they've showed out, but I've been to Cowboys games and Levi's, and I've been to Niners Games in the Cowboys Stadium.
- 50:33[SPEAKER_01]: There is no debate over what fan base travels better currently.
- 50:38[SPEAKER_01]: There is none.
- 50:40[SPEAKER_01]: I would argue, pretty damn close to 50%, maybe 55% Niners fans were in Cowboys Stadium, maybe 30, 35% Cowboys fans in Levi's Stadium.
- 50:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's not close.
- 50:51[SPEAKER_01]: It's not close.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and my bias, you bet your ass I am and my right, you bet your ass I am that 40 dollars fan base is way better.
- 51:02[SPEAKER_01]: The only thing the Cowboys fan base is better at is believing, giving undying love to an undying owner in Jerry Jones.
- 51:10[SPEAKER_01]: That's about it.
- 51:12[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, I love everybody going after him.
- 51:16[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I love it.
- 51:17[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 51:19[SPEAKER_01]: Um, so fun stuff.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's a lot of positives.
- 51:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I love the rookies getting behind the podium and kind of learning what they're doing.
- 51:30[SPEAKER_01]: I like that the 49ers are being very preemptive with how they're handling injuries.
- 51:35[SPEAKER_01]: I love the 49ers defensive backs that corner back room.
- 51:39[SPEAKER_01]: Just getting freaking stout.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_01]: I love all those things.
- 51:45[SPEAKER_01]: I'll write here.
- 51:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Ben Cowboys fans are loyal, but they're also stupid.
- 51:49[SPEAKER_01]: Another W for the faithful.
- 51:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I will say I did enjoy listening to Cowboys radio growing up in Texas Like it's pretty comical It is pretty comical, but that's okay.
- 52:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's what it is.
- 52:03[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate everybody for being here You guys are the best of the best.
- 52:07[SPEAKER_01]: I love my job and I'm very thankful.
- 52:09[SPEAKER_01]: I love training camp the 49ers get their day off tomorrow We're gonna do our final installment tomorrow
- 52:15[SPEAKER_01]: of the 49ers roster count.
- 52:16[SPEAKER_01]: Now this is the earliest we have ever concluded the 49ers roster count down, which means what's I finished after do my taxes?
- 52:24[SPEAKER_00]: Damn it.
- 52:26[SPEAKER_01]: But that's usually the flow that I go through every year.
- 52:29[SPEAKER_01]: I follow that extension and finish the roster count down.
- 52:32[SPEAKER_01]: Then I get started on my taxes and the goal is to get those done before preseason ends.
- 52:36[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see how that goes.
- 52:38[SPEAKER_01]: But very thankful.
- 52:39[SPEAKER_01]: So join us tomorrow as we get to our top
- 52:43[SPEAKER_01]: and piss more people off, because Gali with seven potential Hall of Famers on this roster, how do you narrow it down to the foremost impactful for this year?
- 52:52[SPEAKER_01]: Well, join us tomorrow.
- 52:54[SPEAKER_01]: We will find that out.
- 52:55[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you guys all for being here, and as always, stay strong, faithful.
