- 0:02nerdgasm your destination for all things
- 0:07nerdy how are you guys been you had a good week yeah pretty good pretty good
- 0:12yeah not too bad actually we um looking forward to this week it's 4 day week two
- 0:174 day weeks back to back yeah yeah I'm actually uh I'm off to the United States
- 0:22oh the United States of what the United States of America I'm uh heading over
- 0:26there on Friday so um so listeners we're going have some um some Oddities in your
- 0:33podcast feed for the next couple of weeks there'll still be episodes every
- 0:36week but um you're going to be getting a special Cal episode the podcast Cal not
- 0:42breakfast cereal um that's coming later in the
- 0:45year we'll see yep um and uh and also
- 0:50there'll be another best of so um just because um we're going to be in
- 0:55different time zones actually because cuz you're heading overseas as well is
- 0:58that right Dan yeah so I'll be um I'll be jetting all around Asia right um
- 1:03working on some advertising campaigns uh still will do the podcast but I'll be 3
- 1:08hours in the future yeah so we determined that while I'm away and Dan's
- 1:12away it was just going to be too difficult to sort out the timing so once
- 1:16I get back we'll resume as as normal um but yeah there should still be uh an
- 1:21episode every week it'll just be um either a special that we've done already
- 1:25or a um a best of which I mean come on who doesn't love those in fact I've
- 1:30heard some of the new best of and it's hilarious well it should it's the best
- 1:35that's right yeah we cut out all the bits where we weren't funny so as this
- 1:39is the second best of is this like as good as the first one uh I think it's
- 1:44better in the the sound quality was much better so the so we've got like episodes
- 1:491 to 10 in the first best of and this is like 10 to 20 or something is it yeah I
- 1:53think it goes a bit higher than that but yeah uh it's got stuff like I don't want
- 1:59to give too much away don't nobody's forcing your hand man
- 2:02it's got some good stuff in there I listen to I haven't been doing it
- 2:05Jenna's been doing it but I um I listen to some of it and it sounds good yeah
- 2:10some funny stuff in there so yeah if you've been um wanting to go back and
- 2:16listen uh but you don't want to hear us babbling about boring [ __ ] this is a
- 2:20great way to to do that speaking of babbling about boring [ __ ] oh I'm sorry
- 2:25should we get started sure I mean we mentioned
- 2:30uh me going over to Asia and Matt you were asking me only yesterday about the
- 2:36chewing Gump situation yes and then I stumbled upon an article about it like
- 2:41quite by a chance why don't you take us through it all right well as as you know
- 2:46because we discussed it in Singapore um
- 2:49it is illegal to chew gum um I think
- 2:55utterly right it's just illegal to do it yeah correct um and I I think um you are
- 3:02allowed to bring a very small amount of it into the country for medical reasons is that
- 3:07right no I think that they've just become a little bit LAX on the laws over
- 3:12the years so I think at at one point it was just completely banned I think now
- 3:17they say look if you want to have a packet of chewy and you want to chew
- 3:20someone in your own house that's really not hurting anyone but you're not
- 3:24allowed to have it in public and you're certainly not allowed to put it on the
- 3:27foot path which I believe was one of the main reasons why they banned in the
- 3:31first place yeah well they've got a photo here of um the pavement at Oxford
- 3:34Circus in London which is covered in chewing gun marks and it looks
- 3:38disgusting and you know what I don't know that I noticed this but is that is
- 3:42that how this Pavements look everywhere like if people just throwing gum
- 3:46everywhere what the [ __ ] is remember the 0s Matt you remember the 80s when
- 3:49everyone was chewing gum there was [ __ ] gum
- 3:53everywhere yeah on chairs on the floor I remember in school
- 4:00just being everywh CED in gum but like Jesus I'm kind of glad it went out of
- 4:06fashion I'm not saying but I'm glad it went out of fashion one of the things
- 4:10they mention is that on the the subway in Singapore the people used to stick it
- 4:15on the door of the of the trains and it would jam up the workings of the door I
- 4:20mean [ __ ] that's that's a pain yeah I have just read in here there's another
- 4:26law that they have there that I want them to bring over in Australia
- 4:30if there's a public toilet you are legally required to flush it that's
- 4:34right yep that should be a law
- 4:37everywhere yeah yeah that's fair y it's also illegal to walk around naked in
- 4:43your home in Singapore yes interesting just in case in case you get
- 4:50your dick caught in something no in case anyone sees you because pornography is
- 4:53illegal oh right okay so I'm pretty sure if it's you know the lights are DM and
- 5:00the windows are closed then you'll be fine they don't do sting operations
- 5:04hanging outside people's showers just in case but if you if you've got your
- 5:08window open and your next door neighbor sees you then um technically you're a porn star
- 5:14wow that's interesting because that I've got a new segment that I'd like to um to
- 5:19premere uh this episode and it's called are you sure that's a
- 5:24law oh yeah when my jaw hit the floor when I heard what you said but I'm sure
- 5:30in days of your it would have made more sense it seems so strange and I need to
- 5:34know the score so I really got to ask are you sure that's a
- 5:37law are you sure that's a law what I've done now there are a lot of if you
- 5:43search for dumb laws on the internet you'll find quite a lot and they're not
- 5:46all um legit or they are worded in a way that makes them sound Stranger Than They
- 5:53Are For example there is a law that comes up a lot um which is I think it's
- 5:58from one of the US states and it says that it's a legal to tie an alligator to a fire
- 6:02hydrant now technically that is true but what the law actually says is it's
- 6:07illegal to tie a horse or any other animal to a fire hydrant ah right so
- 6:13inclusive of alligators yeah exactly so some of them are a bit like that so what
- 6:18I've tried to do is um I've tried to find ones that appear to be legitimate
- 6:24um and in some cases I tried to find out why and I wasn't always able to um um
- 6:30but but as far as I'm aware these are these are actually legitimate laws yeah
- 6:35um in Texas it is against the law for anyone to have a pair of pliers in their
- 6:41possession what I don't know why I couldn't find out why what if you're an
- 6:46electrician I don't know I don't know there's probably a good reason for it I
- 6:51just don't know what it is that's funny concealed guns okay parlies go to
- 6:57jail yeah well you know in Victoria it's a legal to change a light bulb unless
- 7:01you're an electrician that's on my list I I apologize mat I won't I won't
- 7:06Jump Ahead that's fine I'm assuming that's one of those ones that they don't
- 7:09enforce very often there's a few of those on this list that's not what I
- 7:12heard Matt I heard there just tough new penalties for it are you serious no okay
- 7:18sorry damn I'm hoping in Philadelphia you're not
- 7:23allowed to put pretzels in a
- 7:26bag now this is based on an act in from
- 7:311760 where it's illegal to sell a
- 7:35pretzel sight unseen in a bag so if you're going to sell pretzels they have
- 7:41to be visible clearly displayed and the customer selling dodg
- 7:47pretz yeah the customer must be able to see and select the pretzel they want
- 7:52before it is put into um a bag so the wording is not quite right again people
- 7:57people word it as you can't put pretzels in bags but I think you're allowed to as
- 8:01long as the person has selected the one that they want because otherwise D
- 8:05pretzels can be passed off as nice fresh ones and it could be too late when you
- 8:09find out they are of poor
- 8:13quality um in Alaska yeah uh you're not
- 8:17allowed to look at a moose from an
- 8:21[Laughter]
- 8:28airplane just trying to the more I think about the complexities of that the
- 8:33funnier that becomes I'll and I'll tell you why and it it does make sense sort
- 8:38of how can there be a lure of what you can and can't look at now
- 8:43apparently um when a moose is constantly
- 8:48almost on the on the edge of starvation right the the environment they live in
- 8:53they're very very tenuous right and if you spook them they can literally just
- 9:00just die like it's illegal to spook them in a whole bunch of ways but one of them
- 9:06this law is basically meant to say stop flying around and harassing them but
- 9:11right it means you're not allowed to you're not allowed to fly around and
- 9:14observe a moose from an airplane like you're not allowed to what about a
- 9:18helicopter I assume that's probably similar it's just a strange wording I
- 9:22think what is the plural of moose is it just moose moose my my brain can't
- 9:27process that right now me me Moes don't know I keep wanting I don't
- 9:33know I was I think it's just moose isn't it mooses there's some
- 9:38moose moose plural what is the plural of moose is it moose mooses
- 9:43me the answer is consequently it's plural instead of
- 9:50being mes or M is the same as a singular okay so this plural is Moose right like
- 9:56fish yes so you're not allowed to look at them from an airplane because the
- 10:00airplane will scare them I think that's the premise uh this is an old law that I
- 10:06don't really need to explain but apparently this is still technically on
- 10:10the books in Memphis Tennessee a woman is not allowed to drive a car unless a
- 10:14man warns approaching motorists or pedestrians by walking in front of the
- 10:17car that is being driven well there's a similar law in
- 10:22Australia that I I believe um is left over from bygone days where it's illegal
- 10:28to drive after a certain time in Australia unless a friend is walking
- 10:32ahead of your car with a lantern y That's awes what I was about to say yeah
- 10:39mhm um in seven US states according to their constitutions atheists are barred
- 10:44from holding public office yeah yep I
- 10:49knew that one mhm um sorry I phrased that like I tried to run the public
- 10:54office because I was an a that's not the case I just I just did know that fact no
- 10:58I I had several is B yeah yeah interracial marriage was still illegal
- 11:04in Alabama in 2000 it's not a current law but it's just goes to show that that's quite
- 11:10recent yeah um although 15 years ago which of course recent to um human
- 11:16rights laws certainly but that doesn't feel like it should be 15 whole years
- 11:21ago 2000 was does it no we're old now there was a law that was actually
- 11:25enforced oh I assume so I mean maybe not up until that point
- 11:29I mean at a certain point they probably just got around to changing it but I
- 11:33mean almost certainly it was enforced at one point yeah yeah definitely yeah we
- 11:38we know about that we do um Milan in Italy states that it is a
- 11:44legal requirement to smile at all times except during funerals or hospital visits
- 11:51frowners faced Hefty I have a question about this uh um so during hospital
- 11:57visits so if I'm in hospital Y and I'm having horrible stuff done to me I have
- 12:03to smile cuz I'm not visiting I think well you are you're visiting the
- 12:06hospital so what about the doctors they're doing these horrible things to
- 12:10me they're just at work yeah I guess they've got to be smiling mhm yeah yeah
- 12:15so I think they they they definitely be subject to fines yeah cuz if you're not
- 12:21happy at work well go do something else yeah do something else um in England it
- 12:27is illegal to die in the house of Parliament Houses of Parliament um this was voted
- 12:33the most ludicrous law in the UK in 2007 and a spokesman for the House of Commons
- 12:37said the people who know about these things here say there is no basis for
- 12:41such a law but that's not to say it does not exist somewhere in writing I don't
- 12:45know why he said that cuz yeah when you asked him about it that was his comment
- 12:49I assume you meant well yeah yeah I mean what he said was oh yeah I mean we know
- 12:54that's stupid but it's it's a law so we know that that's why asked about
- 12:59it um in this is a happy little happy little law in Saudi Arabia there is no
- 13:05minimum age for marriage in 2008 a Saudi Court refused an 8-year-old girl to ask
- 13:10for divorce from her 58-year-old husband oh yes well good times it's another
- 13:15story Al together isn't it yeah so sorry about that uh in 29 states in the US it
- 13:22is still legal to fire someone for being gay technically wow 29 States and I
- 13:28checked that and as far as I could tell that was current as of last year I don't
- 13:33know about this year but apparently that is still true if if that's not true
- 13:37please let us know because I mean that's [ __ ] like that's that's just shitty uh
- 13:42in 34 states it's legal to fire them for being transgender that is a valid reason for
- 13:49dismissal apparently uh again that's
- 13:54shitty yeah I mean I guess look I mean at the end of the day
- 13:59you should be able to fire someone if they're not doing a good enough job yeah
- 14:03Y and that's it there shouldn't be any reason you should fire somebody other
- 14:08than you just you [ __ ] up time and
- 14:11time again yeah unless for some reason
- 14:16being a specific gender is a requirement of the job and you're continually
- 14:20[ __ ] that up by being transgendered yeah like if you're a male stripper yeah
- 14:26without a penis yeah yeah and they're like look you got great pecs but when
- 14:32that g string comes off yeah and all they can see is your penis siiz
- 14:37clitoris everyone's confused and
- 14:42disorientated I know I would be yeah that would be a little that'd be a weird
- 14:47bux night yeah I mean for starters I'd want to know why there was a male
- 14:50stripper at our bux night I was going to say to be honest if that happened at
- 14:54somebody's Buck Night I'd probably I'd probably look at it back and again that
- 14:58was a pretty interesting not look back on vagina look yeah exactly
- 15:02and think you know that's probably that's a memorable box night true I did
- 15:06not expect that uh in in Oklahoma Matt Matt as a person with the closest
- 15:11looming buck knife I'll keep that in mind Sor I just got to quickly Google
- 15:18transgender strippers yeah well what do you know it's a real
- 15:24thing of course it is yeah and you can be fired if you're not a trans
- 15:29gender in Oklahoma it is against the law to have a sleeping donkey in your
- 15:33bathtub after 700 p.m. is this one of those ones where it's illegal to have
- 15:38any sleeping animal in your bathtub or is almost almost certainly yeah yeah or
- 15:43just you're not allow to have an animal in your bathtub at all before seven no
- 15:49no inclusive of seven and again the law is probably more like don't put your
- 15:54donkey in the bath you [ __ ] with yeah or kind of a sleep him a bath after 700
- 16:01p.m. or it's one of those things that it got written into local law because some
- 16:07[ __ ] withit put a sleeping donkey in his bath right and some [ __ ] went down and
- 16:13so now it's like fine there's a law against this one specific thing cuz in
- 16:18this town because of some idiot we had to bring this into legislation
- 16:25yeah um in Canada one out of every five songs on the radio must be sung by a
- 16:31Canadian oh yes that's a lot of countries have that yeah it's
- 16:34interesting I know France France have a 40% rule oh no 60% 60% really yeah
- 16:39absolutely that's TV radio and film that's really interesting I didn't know
- 16:44that yeah okay a lot of countries have limits to local
- 16:48content um this is this is a very I think this is a cool law I'm probably
- 16:53going to offend somebody uh but it is
- 16:56illegal to be fat in Japan
- 17:00ah in Japan my first question is sumo
- 17:04wrestlers in Japan they require citizens
- 17:08between the ages of 45 and 74 to have their waist lines measured once every
- 17:14year and you you be forced to seek medical attention if you're too fat wow
- 17:20you don't you don't get arrested but they force you to seek help well that
- 17:25kind of makes sense yeah that's not I mean you know like if you live in a
- 17:30country where they force you to wear a helmet on your bike so you don't get
- 17:35injured no one complains do some people do complain you know you could you could
- 17:40complain that that's an in infraction on your rights but you could say that about
- 17:45many laws yeah I think it's I think it's pretty good I mean they got a lot of
- 17:48people over there they don't you know they got to they don't want taking up
- 17:51too much space exactly yeah um in Thailand it is illegal to step on
- 17:57money oh yeah oh I know why why can I guess sure because their money has a
- 18:03picture of the King on it exactly yeah no when I the first time I've been to
- 18:08Thailand a few times and I love it there but the first time I went there I got
- 18:11off the plane and there's this enormous picture of the king like
- 18:17stories high on the side of the uh on the side of the airport and I realized
- 18:22that that moment that my normal sense of humor of just making fun of everything
- 18:28was was not going to fly there no and and people take the king very seriously
- 18:33the King's favorite color is yellow and he was born on a Monday so in Thailand
- 18:39on Mondays you wear
- 18:41yellow right you just do it you just do
- 18:46it if you're born on the same day as the
- 18:51king as in on his birthday if you share a birthday with the King mhm you get
- 18:55your education paid for in full by the
- 19:00king really boy or girl including
- 19:04University that's wow that's fascinating yeah there you go I didn't know that
- 19:10they love their King they love him he must be must be all right then he
- 19:14is all right actually he turned Thailand pretty much single-handedly from like a
- 19:18third world country into an international tourist destination with
- 19:22its own thriving economy yeah and his
- 19:25his uh he's a humanitarian his wife's a philanthropist superm
- 19:31model she's not bad looking for a woman in her 7s all right be careful yeah
- 19:37she's good I'd say I'd go there that's I'm oh let's keep it in let's keep it in
- 19:42Asia um in July 2013 a law was passed in China that states it is illegal for
- 19:49adult children to not visit their parents often
- 19:54a and I can just see the disgruntled member of part element that suggested
- 20:00that yeah they are also required to attend to their parents' spiritual needs
- 20:05whatever that means oh goodness yeah oh the RO says you got to shock me
- 20:11spiritual spiritual yeah the RO says
- 20:15yeah um that sounds a lot like that kind of the passive aggression of passing
- 20:20that law yeah right sounds like um a study that I realized I read about that
- 20:25they were doing at the CSO that one of the scientists has put funding into
- 20:30which is um where do all the coffee cups keep going out of the Cs kitchen
- 20:36right and he's really doing it it's a legitimate study but that's the most passive
- 20:42aggressive thing I've ever heard anyone doing yeah right yeah it seems like you
- 20:47just you could probably figure that out pretty easily yeah seems like he already
- 20:51knows it he's just making a point yeah just put up one of those signs that
- 20:54everyone seems to put up in yeah that's right office kitchens when something's
- 20:58dis agreeable to them yeah um this is a
- 21:01law that's uh from uh Rhode Island oh
- 21:05yeah a state that I'll be in next week um a union can be considered invalid on
- 21:12the grounds that the party is deemed to be collectively an idiot or
- 21:17lunatic yeah so that's that's fair I guess that's why the Tea Party hasn't
- 21:21really taken rot there yeah yeah yeah I thought that was uh was
- 21:27pretty cool actually yeah um in France it is illegal to name a pig
- 21:32Napoleon because that would be a that would be a slight to the French General
- 21:37and Emperor MH MH um in this is everyone probably knows this already because it
- 21:42was in the news in Russia Putin uh recently made it illegal to tell kids that gay people
- 21:48exist what you've got a show don't tell they've got a I mean they're in
- 21:55serious denial over there absolutely yeah I looked up uh this is actually I
- 21:59started to look up this and then I was like you know what I don't know if I
- 22:01want to read too much more about this because it's depressing but apparently
- 22:03if you're if you're homosexual in Russia it is not good times for you at the
- 22:08moment or probably ever so you want to get we live in Sydney and um it's one of
- 22:15the most forward countries in the world count it's not even a country Dan one of
- 22:20the most Forward Thinking cities in the world when it comes are gay rights and
- 22:25um and gender equality but I think we forget that
- 22:30there most of the world is still a bit iffy on the subject yeah yeah I agree I
- 22:37mean we make jokes about it often but like I I do forget that there were
- 22:42places in the world where people say stuff like that and they not J it's not
- 22:45a joke that's right exactly right yeah yeah yeah same with um I mean we make
- 22:50jokes about all sorts of stuff that uh that elsewhere in the world people
- 22:54probably take really seriously I think it's very funny so sorry about that if
- 23:00uh that's just how that's just how we deal with the sadness of the world
- 23:06that's right we're not making fun of the victims of racism we're making fun of
- 23:11the concept of racism yeah I would agree and sexism no that's okay C way it
- 23:17doesn't exist Kan your oh yeah that's right oh yeah you we're off the hook
- 23:20from that because it's like playing with a cat when you don't want to play with a
- 23:23cat who cares no no no well I mean we we don't have to apologize to black people
- 23:29anymore we still have to be careful of the gays yeah that's true unless Kaner
- 23:33tells us that gender equality issues don't exist [ __ ] I really I want to
- 23:38hear what he has to say about it I'll be honest I'd love to hear what Kanye West
- 23:42has to say about that uh my final one I thought this was
- 23:47interesting uh and again um it's got a
- 23:51bit of a anti-gay tinge unfortunately uh
- 23:55in Texas you can be married
- 23:59uh in common law which means um in the state of Texas you are married but that
- 24:04may not translate to anywhere else in the world or even other states um but
- 24:08you can become married by common law by publicly introducing a person as your
- 24:13husband or wife three times oh mhm so as
- 24:19long as and you you've got to live together and everything but if you if
- 24:21you live together and you announce to people three times that this is my wife
- 24:26well that is that is your wife now that's a pretty cheap ceremony three
- 24:29times in a row like a hip hiip hoay no no no it's just um if you told three
- 24:33people that's your wife she is your wife yeah it actually says yeah you must um
- 24:37you must um notify people that you are married to this person and apparently
- 24:43the the rule of thumb is if they've if you've gone to the pub and introduced
- 24:46the person as your partner three times then well that's legal she is yeah yeah
- 24:51now apparently there and also you can also go to a law Clerk and have
- 24:55paperwork done but you don't have to yeah right there eight like there's two
- 24:58options um apparently they're in the process of changing that law uh in favor
- 25:03of one that is more sensible is anti-gay it's got to be a woman or a man
- 25:09depending yeah apparently they're rewording it because there was they want
- 25:12their laws to be more discriminatory they're worried that g
- 25:18wanding around getting married yeah this is my husband you can't do that well law
- 25:23says I can so apparently unfortunately yeah they're changing it so they can
- 25:28cover the that so not for the better no well it depends on I guess it depends on
- 25:33on how prejudiced you are well not at all so no I didn't think so but that
- 25:39said I'm going to go to France and get a pig and name a Napoleon yeah because
- 25:43[ __ ] that Napoleon was the Hitler of his day and he gets way too much credit for
- 25:48not being like that he gets credit for not being like
- 25:52not being well like nobody goes oh [ __ ] you know Napoleon I mean not that you'd be
- 25:58concerned about it now but people are still pretty concerned about Hitler
- 26:02Napoleon's only 100 years earlier than Hitler yeah yeah I don't I don't have
- 26:05any posters of Napolean you have posters of hit posters of Hitler no I just mean
- 26:11he's not I mean he's not a role model
- 26:15whoa that's not what I mean Jesus Matt
- 26:19post Hitler wow that's not what I said
- 26:24no that's exactly what you said no it's not I said all I said was I don't have
- 26:30any posters of Napoleon that's all I said oh goodness just to just to swing
- 26:37this around before we before we move on we started talking about Singapore's
- 26:41crazy laws oh not so crazy laws about you know it being illegal not to flush a
- 26:46toilet for example Y in Singapore it's also illegal to pee in an elevator well
- 26:50it should be yes it should be and it it it's concerning that so many people were
- 26:55doing it they had to make a specific law about it but not only
- 26:59they went one step further and they made a law that every elevator has to be
- 27:03equipped with a UD and that's a urine detection device what if you're in an
- 27:09elevator and you piss it will detect it the elevator doors will shut and lock
- 27:15and you will be trapped in there while the police are notified with your piss
- 27:19oh my God yeah that's really interesting like they had a real problem with that I
- 27:24guess a real problem wow that's interesting
- 27:29well I mean it's it's just kind of part of their whole thing about being the
- 27:34cleanest country imaginable yeah well I mean from what I've seen it's it's
- 27:39worked so yeah because they're a borderline Nanny State on
- 27:45CL well my jaw hit the floor when I heard what you said but I'm sure in days
- 27:49of your it would have made more sense it seems so strange and I need to know the
- 27:53score so I really got to ask are you sure that's a law are you sure that's a
- 27:59[Music] L let's take a minute to tell our listeners how they can get in contact

- 29:11yeah all right so um we we've I mean
- 29:15talked a bit about um about the law and and also we touched on some gay stuff
- 29:21yeah uh so we want a bit of gay news if only there was a way to combine those
- 29:25two is there any gay legal news yeah well um you guys haven't heard this yet
- 29:30but um I'm going to play the gay news jingle um oh now I just want to remind
- 29:36you what the um the requested parameters for the for the jingle
- 29:41were um okay yep y it was to be 920's upbeat that was Luke's request yeah um
- 29:48Dan you said you wanted it to sound like Elton John El John y yep and I said I
- 29:52wanted it to sound like sailor's [ __ ] so I've I've done my best all right so
- 29:56it's beat 19
- 30:03[Laughter]
- 30:26[Music]
- 30:41[Music] [Laughter]
- 30:58um in um is that going to play every time we have gay
- 31:03news cuz we have gay news a lot well it's the jingle then I'm hoping to hear
- 31:08that a lot more as well right fine well if you don't want that as the jingle no
- 31:11no I need I need suggestions from hoping to hear it all right good well then yes
- 31:17I mean this is not like when Dave wrote that 10minute Opus and then insisted on
- 31:21it being played every time as he would I'm sure would point
- 31:25out where he here it was three minutes long
- 31:29and it was very funny it was just long
- 31:33um in in gay news um in Britain uh the
- 31:37very first known same-sex prison wedding
- 31:41has occurred um between two murderers uh and it's it's particularly
- 31:47interesting uh be politically correct Matt by adding who just happened to be
- 31:52gay he just happened to be gay not that it matters um an Infamous killer
- 31:58what matters to gay news what matters is saying the words correctly I've got I've
- 32:02caught your disease why start now an Infamous killer who strangled a gay man
- 32:07has married a fellow murderer in the first known same-sex marriage inside a British
- 32:12prison and I'll just intervene to say that that other guy that he's married is
- 32:16also in prison for um homophobic crimes
- 32:20that's right um uh one of the the the gentleman in question one of them is a
- 32:25convicted uh child sex offender um and yeah he murdered a um a gay man
- 32:32and uh and Goodwin was sentenced the other guy was sentenced to life behind
- 32:36bars for gay bashing murdering somebody did the the gay guy that was murdered
- 32:42what the guy that murdered the guy was it because he was gay or he just
- 32:46happened to be gay well they mentioned that they all just happened to be gay
- 32:50Luke come on PC it seems like yes they
- 32:55were they were this under bashing takes
- 32:58one to No One law yeah I guess so yeah it definitely says Goodwin one of the
- 33:04other guy was sentenced to life behind bars for gay bashing and killing
- 33:07somebody so and the other guy lured gays to his house like on list and then
- 33:11murdered them yeah so it certainly seems
- 33:15like yeah it's a case of they they hated
- 33:20themselves for being gay murdered a bunch of gays went to prison and fell in
- 33:25love but I love not only fell in love they bonded over the fact that they hate
- 33:29gays and fell in love yeah it's great that they were able to maybe work it out
- 33:36but would have be nice if it could have worked out in a better way I
- 33:40agree yeah uh and so I mean gay marriage is legal over there um so there's
- 33:45nothing funny about that like it's not unusual um in the UK uh but it's the
- 33:50first one in a prison so that's the first official one in a prison I'm
- 33:54pretty sure men have married other men in prison before a [ __ ] under common
- 33:59law I think yeah there's quite a few recognized by the state uh Gallatin of
- 34:04one of them one of the gentleman uh sounds like a robot name galanov I am
- 34:11galanov he will be considered for parole next year and his parents said they were
- 34:14very happy and proud of their son for getting married oh is he a nice boy no he bashes
- 34:21and murders kids and gays yeah yeah yes he SE children and murdered some
- 34:28you know yeah beggar can't be choosers hopefully they'll uh they sound made for
- 34:35each other though don't they well [ __ ] I'm terrified what's going to happen if
- 34:39they both get out I thought you're going to say if they have
- 34:42kids and I thought we were going to no when they get out they SS like
- 34:47they've come to terms with what they are right I don't think they're going to go
- 34:51on a spree again yeah but they one of them was molesting children like well
- 34:56hopefully the other one's like look I respect that but anytime you're going to
- 34:59molest a child molest me instead oh well that's fine then that's what friends are
- 35:06[Laughter] for so yeah so that's this week's game news I'm not going to play the jingle
- 35:12again that could be a good uh you know like if your partner doesn't really feel
- 35:16up for it tonight come on honey no I've got a headache oh well guess I'll go out
- 35:21and mest a child fine hop
- 35:26in that's all for this week thank you for
- 35:32listening and we hope you enjoyed the show if you enjoyed it then please
