Transcript
- 0:05Speaker 1: Hey, this is Annie Anne Smitha and wellcome to stuff
- 0:08Speaker 1: I Never told you productive by Heardio and welcome to
- 0:20Speaker 1: a Pride Month classic. This is one we did that
- 0:26Speaker 1: was a fun take on our feminist movie episodes. It
- 0:30Speaker 1: happened to come out on Wednesday, but it was about
- 0:33Speaker 1: media that made you question, you know, maybe maybe I
- 0:40Speaker 1: might be queer. My famous example is Molder and Scully,
- 0:44Speaker 1: which a lot of people have was mine. Jessica Rabbit
- 0:48Speaker 1: Jeska Rabbit was one. Yes. Yes, But one of the
- 0:52Speaker 1: reasons other than Pride Month this was on my mind
- 0:56Speaker 1: is because we mentioned the Mummy. Oh yeah, and the
- 1:00Speaker 1: Mummy is playing at a local theater, the Plaza here
- 1:05Speaker 1: in Atlanta during Pride Months, and I just kind of
- 1:10Speaker 1: was like, hmmm.
- 1:13Speaker 2: I mean people will talk about that the whole cast
- 1:15Speaker 2: as being their awakening thereby because every single one of
- 1:18Speaker 2: them was attractive to them.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Yes, that's why I was like, I don't know if
- 1:23Speaker 1: that was specifically what they were going for, but that
- 1:27Speaker 1: is what I thought of. So yes, please enjoy this
- 1:33Speaker 1: classic episode. Hey, this is.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Annie and Samantha.
- 1:41Speaker 1: I'm welcome to Stefan Never Told You, a production of iHeartRadio,
- 1:53Speaker 1: and today we are. I'm not going to say cheating,
- 1:58Speaker 1: but we're kind of doing a lighter feminist movie Friday
- 2:03Speaker 1: slash Wednesday, probably Wednesday at this point, which we talked
- 2:07Speaker 1: about in previous episodes, where we're just gonna have a
- 2:11Speaker 1: fun like conversation about movies or media that personally made
- 2:18Speaker 1: us a question if maybe we were gay, along with
- 2:21Speaker 1: some popular internet examples. So we're not focusing on any
- 2:24Speaker 1: one movie this time. I would love if listeners wrote
- 2:28Speaker 1: in and contributed to this, because I saw when I
- 2:32Speaker 1: was researching this some of them just tickled me so much.
- 2:35Speaker 1: It was so specific. I loved it. I have some
- 2:38Speaker 1: that are pretty funny.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Yeah, tickle me. Wow, that through me all. That's my
- 2:42Speaker 2: mother's phrase. I've not heard you said that ever.
- 2:46Speaker 1: I'm good, I'm getting older. I liked it, Yes, so
- 2:56Speaker 1: I know you've heard to talk about it. We have
- 2:58Speaker 1: had a really busy couple of weeks. I'm still pretty exhausted,
- 3:02Speaker 1: to be honest, with recording this audio book and continuing
- 3:06Speaker 1: to put out all of our episodes and things like that.
- 3:10Speaker 1: So this is gonna be a bit of a lighter one,
- 3:12Speaker 1: but we do try to as much as we like
- 3:16Speaker 1: to highlight months like this. We do try to highlight
- 3:19Speaker 1: stuff like this throughout the year. So if you're like, oh,
- 3:22Speaker 1: you're not actually doing a queer movie, what we try
- 3:26Speaker 1: to do them through all of our.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Other just recently did the Trance movie.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Like it's a constant.
- 3:32Speaker 2: We want to celebrate it all year long. That's never
- 3:35Speaker 2: gonna hold us down. But also we want to talk
- 3:37Speaker 2: about some of the movies that we love that we
- 3:38Speaker 2: might not be watching right.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Yes, yes, yes, yes, I think it's gonna be really fun.
- 3:45Speaker 1: I do want to. I do have a couple of
- 3:47Speaker 1: disclaimers at the top, one being you can find someone
- 3:51Speaker 1: of the opposite sex or any gender identity attractive and
- 3:55Speaker 1: not be gay, Like that's totally a thing who you
- 3:58Speaker 1: are attracted to. Also, doesn't ness necessarily indicate how you
- 4:02Speaker 1: actually identify, Like I am ace perhaps gray sexual, but
- 4:06Speaker 1: I would say a sexual and bi romantic. So even
- 4:08Speaker 1: though I'm attracted to people of all types, that doesn't
- 4:11Speaker 1: necessarily mean I'm bisexual, though I did identify it that
- 4:15Speaker 1: way for a while, and it doesn't mean it won't
- 4:17Speaker 1: change in the future. So and yeah, I we we
- 4:24Speaker 1: kind of we're talking about this at a hangout we
- 4:27Speaker 1: had and it was fun, and so we thought we
- 4:30Speaker 1: would just share it. But yes, we're not. I think
- 4:35Speaker 1: most of the things we're going to talk about are
- 4:37Speaker 1: not things that have explicitly queer storylines. Some of them
- 4:40Speaker 1: are kind of queer Baby, But we did want to
- 4:43Speaker 1: talk about some of the surprise ones too that maybe
- 4:45Speaker 1: you wouldn't necessarily think of.
- 4:48Speaker 2: I think that's the majority of my movies that I
- 4:50Speaker 2: picked up technically but not really queer Baby. It just
- 4:53Speaker 2: happens to be the dairy role that they played, And
- 4:56Speaker 2: I was like, what.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Well, that's kind of what I love about it. That's
- 5:02Speaker 1: what I think is so interesting. So before we get
- 5:06Speaker 1: into our examples, and I guess we can kind of
- 5:09Speaker 1: go back and forth, I wanted to give some popular
- 5:12Speaker 1: internet examples plus ones that just made me laugh. Usually
- 5:16Speaker 1: it has to do with being attracted to both the
- 5:17Speaker 1: male and female leads, Like that's sort of the vibe
- 5:21Speaker 1: that a lot of people were putting down for this
- 5:24Speaker 1: one of the big ones. When when I read it,
- 5:26Speaker 1: I was like, oh, of course, was cruel intentions?
- 5:29Speaker 2: Yeah, that felt queer beaty to me, though for sure.
- 5:32Speaker 1: It probably was. I actually didn't see that movie until
- 5:35Speaker 1: I was quite older like WIX seeing the last five years.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Maybe it wasn't, I guess because the queer beaty is
- 5:43Speaker 2: specific to like pandering, they weren't necessarily pandering, But I
- 5:46Speaker 2: feel like it was for shock value. Is that so
- 5:49Speaker 2: queer baby?
- 5:50Speaker 1: Well, there's a lot of contention around that. It can
- 5:53Speaker 1: be for sure it was. It definitely did have that
- 5:55Speaker 1: shock value to it of like ooh, look at how
- 6:00Speaker 1: quote deprived she is.
- 6:03Speaker 2: And it was definitely like in the melgaze like still
- 6:06Speaker 2: people who are like, oh what it was still sexual? Yeah, sure,
- 6:09Speaker 2: but it's definitely more towards the mel.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Gaze right right and peak behind the Curtain. We are
- 6:15Speaker 1: reading Ginger Queer for the book club pic this this month,
- 6:21Speaker 1: and I read it last night and it talked a
- 6:24Speaker 1: lot about what we're talking about in here. And also
- 6:29Speaker 1: I was researching the character Willow, who's our upcoming fictional
- 6:33Speaker 1: women around the world. One of the things we're going
- 6:37Speaker 1: to talk about all the issues going on with that.
- 6:40Speaker 1: But one of the things that made her very groundbreaking
- 6:43Speaker 1: was it wasn't done for shock value. It wasn't done
- 6:46Speaker 1: for like, oh, look how sexual they are, Whereas this
- 6:51Speaker 1: felt very much like the what you're saying Sarah Michelle
- 6:55Speaker 1: Geller in both of these, but it was like, Sarah
- 6:57Speaker 1: Michelle Geller kind of what's the word for that? When
- 7:02Speaker 1: oh ruining like an innocent person. It did have that vibe,
- 7:09Speaker 1: but I remember it being like, oh, yeah, for sure, yes,
- 7:14Speaker 1: so I totally get that. I totally get that. Example.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Another one that came up that surprised me, but then
- 7:19Speaker 1: when I was reading people's reasoning was the Mummy.
- 7:22Speaker 2: What's surprising to you? Yes, how is that surprising to you?
- 7:27Speaker 2: Like I didn't? I Yeah, I sit you the whole
- 7:29Speaker 2: there's a whole meme going around, like and it shows
- 7:32Speaker 2: each picture and everything's like, yes, no, wonder. I was
- 7:35Speaker 2: so confused between like each character, there's four amazing you're
- 7:39Speaker 2: like five I think amazing characters that you just kind
- 7:42Speaker 2: of sit there to stair at and you're like, what
- 7:44Speaker 2: is this? What's going on here? And I will say
- 7:48Speaker 2: Rachel Weiss has was also on my list for another movie.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Yes, she's on one of Oh she's not. I took
- 7:55Speaker 1: it off, but yeah, no, I get I get that. No,
- 8:00Speaker 1: but we have done The Mummy for a fictional movie Friday,
- 8:04Speaker 1: and we did talk about how uh, one of the
- 8:09Speaker 1: reasons we chose it for that movie was there was
- 8:12Speaker 1: a blog post about how they were kind of in
- 8:17Speaker 1: opposite gender roles, almost like he was a very supportive,
- 8:21Speaker 1: kind of holding her up and she was very assertive
- 8:24Speaker 1: in all of these ways. So I thought that that
- 8:27Speaker 1: was interesting. Another one that surprised me. And then when
- 8:30Speaker 1: I thought about it, I was like, oh, yeah, I
- 8:31Speaker 1: should probably re examine this. Empire strikes back.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Oh he had already stated that.
- 8:38Speaker 1: I did, but not when I was a kid, I didn't.
- 8:43Speaker 1: I don't think it ever occurred to me that I
- 8:46Speaker 1: because most people said it was because they were attracted
- 8:48Speaker 1: to Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher on Solo and Princess Leiah.
- 8:52Speaker 1: I was attracted to Luke and then I loved Leah.
- 8:56Speaker 2: But I don't say it wasn't in love, right, But
- 8:59Speaker 2: I didn't.
- 8:59Speaker 1: I don't think it occurred to me that it could
- 9:01Speaker 1: be because it was such a young age, right, And
- 9:03Speaker 1: then when I got older, I was like, oh, no,
- 9:05Speaker 1: like if I had a chance with Leah, which I
- 9:07Speaker 1: wouldn't because she's too good for me, but if I did,
- 9:11Speaker 1: it would be all about it. So it's just it's
- 9:16Speaker 1: now that I think about it that was probably always there.
- 9:18Speaker 1: I just didn't believe that it was an option or
- 9:21Speaker 1: a right. Another one that we've talked about, Jennifer's body.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Jennifer's body, that's a I think we've already talked about
- 9:29Speaker 2: that because we talked about this movie and what it
- 9:30Speaker 2: was supposed to be satire in itself, but like, yeah,
- 9:33Speaker 2: I did feel queer, baby, but it was supposed to
- 9:36Speaker 2: as a commentary, right, that's what we've decided.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Right, And it was because it was shots with mostly
- 9:42Speaker 1: women kind of controlling like the Angle, and it was
- 9:45Speaker 1: women in it, and it was kind of their friendship,
- 9:49Speaker 1: but also they were, you know, adolescents who were figuring
- 9:54Speaker 1: things out as they say. Yeah, no, I totally get
- 9:58Speaker 1: that one too. I totally get that one. This one
- 10:00Speaker 1: cracks me up, Matilda, Matilda.
- 10:06Speaker 2: Because of the Honey Okay, and there's a specific scene
- 10:11Speaker 2: where miss Honey, like everyone kept using the gift where
- 10:14Speaker 2: she brings her glasses.
- 10:18Speaker 1: And it made me laugh so hard and I'm so happy.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Yeah. Completely didn't think about that one.
- 10:27Speaker 1: No, No, I didn't either, And I don't think this
- 10:29Speaker 1: was the what they were saying at all, but it
- 10:32Speaker 1: did make me start thinking about how that sort of
- 10:37Speaker 1: trope of older women who live alone must be lesbians.
- 10:42Speaker 1: I don't think that's what they were saying at all,
- 10:45Speaker 1: but it just kind of made me think about it.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Have you ever seen Mansfield Park? I have not, because
- 10:52Speaker 2: the woman who plays Missus Honey is in Mansfield Park
- 10:55Speaker 2: with Johnny Lee Miller.
- 10:57Speaker 1: M hmm.
- 10:58Speaker 2: Let me just see if I can read off the cast,
- 10:59Speaker 2: because if you like, I love this movie and it's
- 11:02Speaker 2: the most ridiculous movie because it's an awful telling of
- 11:05Speaker 2: Mainsfield Park. They took a lot of liberty, but it
- 11:08Speaker 2: had like it had her, Frances O'Connor, who uh, she's
- 11:13Speaker 2: doing several other things, King's speech, several other things, as
- 11:18Speaker 2: well as Alexandro Novola. I think I'm saying his name right,
- 11:21Speaker 2: and he's another big I think he's an English actor.
- 11:25Speaker 2: I forgot what movie. But the four of them are
- 11:27Speaker 2: probably the four most attractive people. And I say that
- 11:30Speaker 2: as like the entirety of that cast. So I'm like,
- 11:32Speaker 2: now I'm thinking about her relaying it to that movie.
- 11:35Speaker 2: I'm like, they're actually really attracted. Oh maybe that could
- 11:39Speaker 2: have been one of my lists because I loved that movie. Okay,
- 11:42Speaker 2: I'm gonna have to make you watch it.
- 11:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm into it. I'm into it. Another movie I
- 11:57Speaker 1: haven't seen this Bridegreen Tomatoes.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Are seen, Right, you have to remedy that soon.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Another to the lists, another.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Because I could see that there's so much to this,
- 12:07Speaker 2: like because you know, I love women's friendships, love love
- 12:11Speaker 2: love women's friendships and anything. And I loved their friendships
- 12:14Speaker 2: so much that to the point, like because their relationships
- 12:18Speaker 2: with men were so awful that you do want them
- 12:22Speaker 2: to be with each other forever and ever and ever
- 12:24Speaker 2: and ever. Right, and men are not portrayed well in
- 12:27Speaker 2: this movie, and rightly, so I'm okay with it. But
- 12:32Speaker 2: wanting them to be together makes sense. Yeah, And there
- 12:35Speaker 2: is like conversation of like, if you look back, I
- 12:36Speaker 2: think the actual book may have leaned it towards it. Actually,
- 12:40Speaker 2: now that I'm thinking about it, I think the actual
- 12:42Speaker 2: book does lean to that fact that they are they're
- 12:44Speaker 2: in love with each other, but of course the movie didn't,
- 12:46Speaker 2: so that makes more sense.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Yeah, that's I found a whole essay about it. And
- 12:51Speaker 1: they were talking about like, you know, they didn't say
- 12:54Speaker 1: it in the movie, but they are queer.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's great. The portrayals beautiful. Okay, all right,
- 13:02Speaker 2: don't we have to That might be a next month
- 13:05Speaker 2: movie because we need to watch that movie.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Okay, i'rnt to that too for one. For one, it
- 13:11Speaker 1: it's it relates to something else that I'm going to
- 13:14Speaker 1: talk about in a lot of my picks. But we
- 13:16Speaker 1: also talked about in things like practical magic of that
- 13:18Speaker 1: idea of you know, this friendship between women and kind
- 13:21Speaker 1: of growing older together and a lot of people rightly
- 13:26Speaker 1: or wrongly assuming or thinking like, oh, they must be.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Really together instead of being But that's like we talked
- 13:32Speaker 2: about platonic marriages before we did, and like it makes sense.
- 13:36Speaker 2: I maybe this and you I've been talking about this recently, uh,
- 13:40Speaker 2: and you and I have talked about it too, just
- 13:42Speaker 2: like in general, like not having the fear of being
- 13:45Speaker 2: single that's not a thing, and knowing that we'll be okay,
- 13:48Speaker 2: we'll survive. I think part of that is knowing that
- 13:50Speaker 2: I have good friends like yourself and Caroline, who they're well,
- 13:53Speaker 2: we're all like me. Caroline and myself are both the
- 13:55Speaker 2: relationships and the majority of people are. But if we're not,
- 13:59Speaker 2: we'll always be there for each other. Like it doesn't
- 14:01Speaker 2: matter if things go right or wrong, however you want
- 14:05Speaker 2: to see it because and that feels so secure that
- 14:08Speaker 2: it makes everything else feel easier. Like I would rather
- 14:11Speaker 2: be single with my friends who have all kind of
- 14:14Speaker 2: come into this mindset, right, than miserable in a relationship
- 14:18Speaker 2: where I'm isolated from my friends.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Right.
- 14:22Speaker 2: That's that kind of level of like seeing that it's
- 14:25Speaker 2: no longer said that you don't have the perfect marriage
- 14:28Speaker 2: or whatever whatnot? Right, And I idealistic.
- 14:33Speaker 1: I do think that there are a couple of things
- 14:37Speaker 1: going on here, and one of them is something I
- 14:39Speaker 1: want to come back and talk about in a happy hour.
- 14:41Speaker 1: I mentioned it recently, but platonic love can be so beautiful,
- 14:47Speaker 1: and like the love between friendships can be so beautiful,
- 14:51Speaker 1: like more beautiful than romantic love. But I think because
- 14:54Speaker 1: so much of our media frames romantic love as the
- 14:57Speaker 1: end all be all, this is the best thing you
- 14:58Speaker 1: can achieve. And on top of that, we don't see
- 15:03Speaker 1: a lot of queer storylines that a lot of people,
- 15:07Speaker 1: myself included, I've done it, do this where we're like,
- 15:11Speaker 1: maybe they're queer. Maybe this is like the representation I've
- 15:14Speaker 1: been waiting for. Yeah, where like patonic Clove should be
- 15:17Speaker 1: just as respected and celebrated, but it's because we don't
- 15:20Speaker 1: have those queer storylines. I totally get it too. But
- 15:24Speaker 1: as I've been writing fan fiction, I've noticed I do it.
- 15:27Speaker 1: I do it even though I don't believe it. But
- 15:30Speaker 1: it feels like a relationship isn't as important or dramatic
- 15:34Speaker 1: unless it's romantic, which is not true. I want to
- 15:37Speaker 1: be one hundred thousand percent is not.
- 15:41Speaker 2: True, And in real life, we don't want that drama
- 15:43Speaker 2: exactly exactly.
- 15:47Speaker 1: I get wait makes her a good storyline, like as
- 15:48Speaker 1: I'm writing it, but it does like.
- 15:52Speaker 2: Okay, dramas I've seen that because I get so mad,
- 15:55Speaker 2: like this is the dumbest thing. You shouldn't go for this, dude,
- 15:58Speaker 2: he's awful. Why are you doing this? I've been yelling
- 16:00Speaker 2: at this TV more recently and getting very upset at
- 16:04Speaker 2: the lead and like this is awful. What are you doing?
- 16:06Speaker 2: And then like knowing that if if they resolved that
- 16:08Speaker 2: the way I wanted to, it would no longer be
- 16:10Speaker 2: It would be the end of the show.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Right still, right, yeah, yeah, No, I totally get it,
- 16:19Speaker 1: And now it cracks me up that you're yelling at
- 16:21Speaker 1: the TV that that's funny. I'm that person now, yes, yes,
- 16:26Speaker 1: uh so, I guess we should break into our examples,
- 16:32Speaker 1: starting with yours. The one that this whole.
- 16:36Speaker 2: The whole conversation because you said that you brought up
- 16:38Speaker 2: you like I'm interested in, you know, the movies that
- 16:41Speaker 2: you made you go wait. And the one movie which
- 16:45Speaker 2: ended up getting man's plain to us anyway was who
- 16:54Speaker 2: framed Roger Rabbit? Because for some reason I watched this
- 16:59Speaker 2: as a kid, and I know, like I think all
- 17:01Speaker 2: of us had in moment like that is petrifying. Christopher
- 17:04Speaker 2: Lloyd's character is the most petrifying villain I've ever met
- 17:07Speaker 2: in my life. I don't understand how a cartoon got
- 17:10Speaker 2: that freakishly frightening so quickly. The appearance of Jessica Rabbit
- 17:17Speaker 2: singing why don't you do right? I it's a damn cartoon,
- 17:22Speaker 2: and I was like, what is happening? And obviously everything
- 17:25Speaker 2: about that character is in the male gaze. It is
- 17:28Speaker 2: definitely all very sexualized. She is a sexualized character. However,
- 17:34Speaker 2: there was something to that performance and I was like, well, damn.
- 17:43Speaker 2: And I say that with my full chest because I
- 17:45Speaker 2: was I love love that movies probably I haven't watched
- 17:49Speaker 2: it in years. I feel like we should do a rewatch, maybe,
- 17:53Speaker 2: like I need to do this as an episode just
- 17:54Speaker 2: for being funny, like maybe whatever. Whatnot not being a
- 17:58Speaker 2: feminist movie because it's I don't it's not a feminist movie.
- 18:01Speaker 2: There's no nothing about that is a feminist movie. Everything
- 18:04Speaker 2: is about like being villainized essentially, and then you know cartoons.
- 18:10Speaker 2: But but I did. I had that moment with like
- 18:15Speaker 2: watching that performance and loving that song, loving that rendition
- 18:19Speaker 2: of that song and having to not only did I
- 18:24Speaker 2: want to be her, but yes, I wanted to stand
- 18:27Speaker 2: next to her. Like that's the best explanation I had.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Mm hmm, that's yeah. That's interesting because that movie scared
- 18:36Speaker 1: me so bad as a kid. I haven't seen it
- 18:38Speaker 1: since I was very young, and I was like and
- 18:41Speaker 1: I can't even tell you why. I just remember being scared.
- 18:44Speaker 2: The eye, the high pitch, the it was scary.
- 18:48Speaker 1: I would love to revisit it. I think we could have.
- 18:50Speaker 1: We could have like a not feminist movie, unfeminist movie,
- 18:57Speaker 1: because I want to talk about the Super Mario.
- 19:01Speaker 2: Also movies that like we just want to make each
- 19:05Speaker 2: other suffer. I feel like I make ourselves suffer.
- 19:08Speaker 1: There's a part of it, but there's a joy in
- 19:10Speaker 1: sharing the suffering there is, and I think there's a
- 19:17Speaker 1: lot to talk about there. I definitely have felt attraction
- 19:21Speaker 1: to cartoon characters, so uh, no judgment there. And I
- 19:25Speaker 1: know people who Jessica Rabbit, you're not alone. I'm glad
- 19:32Speaker 1: to know.
- 19:33Speaker 2: I Yeah, there was so vivid to me that scene,
- 19:37Speaker 2: everything about that scene.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm just like, what, yes.
- 19:43Speaker 2: But yes, we did get a whole like ten minute
- 19:45Speaker 2: men explain about how that movie was one of the
- 19:47Speaker 2: most incredibly expensive movies and all these things. You were
- 19:51Speaker 2: there with me, anywhy are you looking like your surprise?
- 19:53Speaker 1: I think I was over. I told you my ears
- 19:55Speaker 1: got I was getting caught in like fifteen different conversations,
- 20:01Speaker 1: so I caught parts of it, but I was.
- 20:04Speaker 2: Like, I just sat there and stared at and I
- 20:06Speaker 2: was like, I don't.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Care to be fair, that is something I would do
- 20:12Speaker 1: if I'd had the right amount of alcohol. I would
- 20:14Speaker 1: tell you about you know, an empire strikes back, So
- 20:18Speaker 1: I can't judge too hard. Oh yeah, yeah, Well so
- 20:26Speaker 1: for me, I'm going to kind of cheat and combine
- 20:29Speaker 1: some because I have more than you. But also, I've
- 20:32Speaker 1: talked about some of these before X files. That is
- 20:36Speaker 1: probably my first clear memory. I don't think it's the
- 20:41Speaker 1: first time, but it's my first clear memory of being like, uh,
- 20:45Speaker 1: what's going on here because I'm attracted to her? And
- 20:50Speaker 1: oh no, and one thing, one thing I want to
- 20:53Speaker 1: bring up. And I know we're going to talk about
- 20:54Speaker 1: this more in our book club, but you recently owned
- 20:58Speaker 1: Sex and the City. You asked me, like, what is
- 20:59Speaker 1: your and I was like, I have such a specific type.
- 21:03Speaker 1: It's hilarious. And the more that I thought about it,
- 21:07Speaker 1: and after I read that book, I was like, it's
- 21:09Speaker 1: kind of for me. It's very specifically in it's effeminine men.
- 21:17Speaker 1: It's men who are pretty, but it's also people. It's
- 21:21Speaker 1: people who are like not they're not quite in their
- 21:26Speaker 1: very traditional stereotypical gender roles. They're kind of like more
- 21:29Speaker 1: masculine women or more feminine men. That's really what it is.
- 21:35Speaker 1: And I wouldn't say Molder was a feminine at all,
- 21:39Speaker 1: but he did have kind of my look. But she
- 21:43Speaker 1: was a very kind of masculine even though she's beautiful
- 21:46Speaker 1: in a pretty traditional feminine way, but she had a
- 21:48Speaker 1: like really masculine vibe about her.
- 21:51Speaker 2: I wonder if it's masculine more so, like just non binary,
- 21:55Speaker 2: because I don't think she was either no smiled. We
- 21:59Speaker 2: just want to call it mass feeling because it wasn't
- 22:01Speaker 2: so feminine, right, No, I agree it was non binary
- 22:03Speaker 2: more so than anything else.
- 22:05Speaker 1: I agree, And that is a good point, and that
- 22:07Speaker 1: is what part of the book club it will be about.
- 22:09Speaker 1: But yeah, it's sort of more like in that place. Yeah, yeah,
- 22:14Speaker 1: that's what it is. Yeah, And so I think that
- 22:17Speaker 1: for me was a big That was the one I
- 22:20Speaker 1: was sitting in my room in seventh grade and I
- 22:22Speaker 1: was like, oh, but now after I did this research
- 22:29Speaker 1: for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I forgot I had a
- 22:33Speaker 1: crush on Seth Green's character Oz.
- 22:38Speaker 2: I loved Seth Green. I love Redheads though. Yeah, Michael Rappaport,
- 22:45Speaker 2: which he is a hilarious person, but I had a
- 22:48Speaker 2: huge crush on him too. And I don't think I've
- 22:50Speaker 2: ever met anyone who would say.
- 22:51Speaker 1: That that's always a fun exercise. I might be the
- 22:56Speaker 1: only person a huge crush on this person. Yes his Nardias, Yes, yes,
- 23:04Speaker 1: I had a huge crush on him. He's the reason
- 23:06Speaker 1: I went to see Austin powers like, oh no, yeah,
- 23:12Speaker 1: old me who doesn't get these jokes, and made my
- 23:15Speaker 1: parents come and they're like, oh my god, it wasn't good.
- 23:20Speaker 1: It wasn't good. But yeah, I'm definitely like looks are
- 23:26Speaker 1: a big part of it, but they come second to me.
- 23:28Speaker 1: It's like I have to like the personal Usually, I
- 23:32Speaker 1: have to like the personality first, and then I'm like, oh,
- 23:35Speaker 1: they're so attractive. Sometimes it goes the other way, but usually,
- 23:39Speaker 1: and I feel like I never really can. I remembered
- 23:45Speaker 1: Seth Green very clearly, but will oh, I did kind
- 23:48Speaker 1: of have a crush on two and then she started
- 23:52Speaker 1: dating Tara, and we're gonna talk about that in the
- 23:54Speaker 1: fictional Women episode. But I was like, woo, I haven't
- 24:00Speaker 1: seen this before. Like honestly, legitimately, I've not seen it before.
- 24:03Speaker 2: Yeah, it was very cute too, and it wasn't too
- 24:07Speaker 2: like really hot women. Yeah, they were both cute. It
- 24:10Speaker 2: was different.
- 24:12Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure.
- 24:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess mine was. I talked about this because
- 24:17Speaker 2: it's probably one of the worst movies. I mean, in existence,
- 24:20Speaker 2: I'm not gonna lie, like, the script is real bad,
- 24:23Speaker 2: the ending is real bad. Adam Sandler is real bad.
- 24:27Speaker 2: But it's Spanglish, it's pas Vega. It was only her
- 24:31Speaker 2: who actually is in the Netflix series Kaleidoscope, which I loved.
- 24:37Speaker 2: That show was really fun to watch. I loved posit Vega.
- 24:40Speaker 2: I don't know what it was, but I was just like,
- 24:42Speaker 2: holy crap. So it is like for me on this note,
- 24:47Speaker 2: was I think most of these things now then my
- 24:50Speaker 2: last movie is not. But most of the rest of
- 24:52Speaker 2: them were like just the women and like they're like,
- 24:55Speaker 2: I don't I don't know if this maybe they're overall
- 24:57Speaker 2: avert sexuality. But it wasn't sexual, of course. Jessica Rabbit,
- 25:01Speaker 2: yes it was sexual, but like for Pasvega, her character
- 25:05Speaker 2: was a mother and she's trying to comfort people and
- 25:08Speaker 2: she's just kind of compassionate and all these things. But
- 25:12Speaker 2: there was something about her character that was just confidently
- 25:17Speaker 2: sexual without being overly sexual. I don't know what it was,
- 25:20Speaker 2: but I loved I loved that movie. It's such a
- 25:23Speaker 2: bad movie. Kyl Ilney was a great actress and she
- 25:27Speaker 2: did an amazing job, but you like she was created
- 25:30Speaker 2: to not be liked, right, and I hate that for her. Yeah,
- 25:35Speaker 2: and she played it too well. And then Adam Sandler's
- 25:38Speaker 2: just there. But I loved, loved watching Pasvega and was
- 25:43Speaker 2: a huge fan. And I know she was doing She
- 25:45Speaker 2: did Sex and Lucia, which won a lot of awards.
- 25:49Speaker 2: Like she was that was her big movie beforehand. But like,
- 25:52Speaker 2: I don't know, she's just such a confident woman that
- 25:55Speaker 2: it just her and pad Melashmi like to me, they're
- 25:59Speaker 2: on that see level that I'm just like, again, I
- 26:02Speaker 2: want to stand with you and I want to be you.
- 26:05Speaker 2: How do I do this?
- 26:08Speaker 1: It's interesting?
- 26:09Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like that this whole like, man, how do
- 26:12Speaker 2: I become more like you? But also can I be
- 26:14Speaker 2: with you here? Thank you?
- 26:18Speaker 1: Right? I remember Padlokshi was on your list of like
- 26:23Speaker 1: dream guests.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought, and we got rejected. I'm like, it's
- 26:26Speaker 2: probably a good thing because I think I would just
- 26:27Speaker 2: pass out.
- 26:28Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, and I understand I have my guests like
- 26:33Speaker 1: that as well. But it was just funny. I don't
- 26:37Speaker 1: know how that interview is going to go.
- 26:39Speaker 2: How would just that's out because I already get nervous
- 26:42Speaker 2: with people I'm not nervous around I know.
- 26:56Speaker 1: Well, my next one is not a movie. It is
- 26:57Speaker 1: a video game, Final Fantasy seven, and this is one
- 27:02Speaker 1: of my favorite video games of all time. The part
- 27:05Speaker 1: I'm talking about specifically is pretty problematic, but I'll talk
- 27:08Speaker 1: about that more in a second. So the plotline is
- 27:12Speaker 1: way too confusing to break down here. But you're a
- 27:15Speaker 1: crew of people and you're going to save the world.
- 27:19Speaker 1: And I had a crush on the main character Cloud,
- 27:27Speaker 1: mostly because he was sad in the right way of
- 27:30Speaker 1: sat that I liked at the time, maybe be like, oh,
- 27:33Speaker 1: I can take care of you, which is not healthy,
- 27:35Speaker 1: I know, but it was kind of like that vibe.
- 27:38Speaker 1: I was like, Oh, he's so tragic and let me
- 27:40Speaker 1: help you.
- 27:41Speaker 2: Oh yeah.
- 27:41Speaker 1: But then there's a whole plot point in the game
- 27:44Speaker 1: where you have to Cloud, who's a male character, has
- 27:51Speaker 1: to dress up as a woman convincingly and go on
- 27:55Speaker 1: a date, and based on what you do, it depends
- 28:00Speaker 1: on the characters that go with you. But then later
- 28:04Speaker 1: who you end up dating, and you know, there's it's
- 28:09Speaker 1: harder to get certain characters. So the main two are
- 28:15Speaker 1: Rath and Tifa, and I had a big crush on Tifa,
- 28:20Speaker 1: even though I wanted him to be with Rith. They
- 28:23Speaker 1: had nothing to do with the kind of the sentiment
- 28:25Speaker 1: you see with a lot of like young girls who
- 28:28Speaker 1: are fans of things where they're like, oh, they can't
- 28:30Speaker 1: end up with this person. It was more like I
- 28:32Speaker 1: just thought Erith and him were a better couple, but
- 28:35Speaker 1: I was. I had a pretty big crush on Tifa,
- 28:38Speaker 1: and Tifa was really cool. She was definitely sexualized. She
- 28:43Speaker 1: is one of the characters that infamously has a huge
- 28:49Speaker 1: like boob bouncing scene that is totally unnecessary, like completely
- 28:58Speaker 1: and it's it's played for laughs for sure, because you
- 29:02Speaker 1: can end up with if you try really hard, you
- 29:05Speaker 1: can end up with Barrett, who is like this big,
- 29:08Speaker 1: tough black guy, and it's very like comical in the
- 29:15Speaker 1: game that you end up together, which is not cool,
- 29:18Speaker 1: but I did. I think that whole matching people in
- 29:24Speaker 1: video games really did open the door for me where
- 29:26Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, oh, well, they could be together or
- 29:29Speaker 1: they could be together. And I'm gonna talk about that
- 29:30Speaker 1: a bit more because part of my a lot of
- 29:32Speaker 1: mine are not even I want to be with them.
- 29:34Speaker 1: It's that I liked that they were together and they
- 29:38Speaker 1: were gay. Yeah, yeah, yes, so that's Final Fantasy seven.
- 29:46Speaker 2: I remember when I was like, what is this and
- 29:48Speaker 2: that's a fast and Furious seven. I was so confused.
- 29:55Speaker 1: I should watch Past and Furious seven and see if
- 29:57Speaker 1: there's any anything going on.
- 29:59Speaker 2: I'm going to tell you, okay, just no, just just
- 30:02Speaker 2: automatically no it. Yeah. So one of the movies that
- 30:08Speaker 2: this is what I was referring to. That's the cast.
- 30:10Speaker 2: I was like, yes, this cast Constantine because it is
- 30:14Speaker 2: Rachel Vice, Keanu Reeves, Till the Swinton, and even Gavin Bush,
- 30:18Speaker 2: like the four of them. Yes, just yes, a good pick.
- 30:25Speaker 1: I'd forgotten about that movie until you said it, and
- 30:27Speaker 1: I was like, oh, yeah, just.
- 30:29Speaker 2: If you the whole thing because like, first of all,
- 30:31Speaker 2: Till the Swinton in her own like non binary self
- 30:35Speaker 2: playing one of the archangels coming down and giving wrath
- 30:39Speaker 2: and hate. Uh but like loving that, and then having
- 30:44Speaker 2: you know, Gavin Bush being the devil that just slides
- 30:47Speaker 2: away with his accent and bad acting and sly voice, Constantine,
- 30:52Speaker 2: Keanu Reeves just coming in and out being angry and
- 30:55Speaker 2: dying all the time, and then Rachel Vice, who they
- 30:57Speaker 2: don't have the greatest chemistry, I will say this, which
- 31:00Speaker 2: is also why I think I did like it, because
- 31:02Speaker 2: it felt like they're not gonna be together. I could
- 31:04Speaker 2: like both of them type of thing right.
- 31:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I loved that movie. I made my mom see it,
- 31:09Speaker 1: and she hated it because she was kind of religious.
- 31:13Speaker 1: She's religious. But also that's the movie. I think I've
- 31:17Speaker 1: told this story before, but I ate a sixty four
- 31:20Speaker 1: ounce chocolate bar during it, and I threw up straight
- 31:24Speaker 1: chocolate for over an hour.
- 31:26Speaker 2: Did the sixty four ounce chocolate bar?
- 31:28Speaker 1: I don't know. It's hard to say. It was foolish
- 31:31Speaker 1: and embarrassing, but I paid the price for it, and
- 31:34Speaker 1: I haven't done it since.
- 31:36Speaker 2: You surely did? You surely did.
- 31:39Speaker 1: Yeah, but that's also when I learned to do the coin.
- 31:42Speaker 1: They Yeah, I love that movie.
- 31:47Speaker 2: And in a recent interview, Keanu Reeves did was literally
- 31:50Speaker 2: saying that this is the one movie he wished he
- 31:52Speaker 2: could read like have a second movie, and he.
- 31:57Speaker 1: I think they're doing something.
- 31:58Speaker 2: Apparently there's another damn john Wick movies, So why can't
- 32:01Speaker 2: we have another Constantine?
- 32:03Speaker 1: That's the call to action?
- 32:05Speaker 2: Come on for this, come on?
- 32:08Speaker 1: No, I could definitely see that one.
- 32:10Speaker 2: Yeah, that was that was that was the pick was like, yeah,
- 32:12Speaker 2: I mean we've talked about the Matrix, which I'm surprised
- 32:14Speaker 2: wasn't on that other list by the way.
- 32:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it did show up, it just didn't
- 32:20Speaker 1: gehow up as much as the cow Yeah, I mean that.
- 32:27Speaker 1: Yeah h It's one of my biggest crushes I've ever had.
- 32:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:33Speaker 1: Oh yes, well looking back for me Star Wars. As
- 32:38Speaker 1: I said, obviously obviously, but I did want to say
- 32:42Speaker 1: with the sequels. I've talked about this before, but the sequels,
- 32:47Speaker 1: as much as I was kind of like iffy on them,
- 32:50Speaker 1: it was one of the first times I've shipped a
- 32:55Speaker 1: couple in a long time, and I was kind of
- 32:57Speaker 1: surprised by it, which was a storm pilot po oh,
- 33:01Speaker 1: that's right. It's kind of a brief. It like flirted
- 33:02Speaker 1: out really quickly. But I remember it because it was
- 33:05Speaker 1: alongside when I was coming more to terms with oh,
- 33:09Speaker 1: you're asexual, then what does it mean that I'm shipping?
- 33:12Speaker 1: Like I was kind of like, what's going on here?
- 33:15Speaker 1: So that was an interesting experience. And then, as I said,
- 33:20Speaker 1: a bright slash fan fiction now and I'm not sure,
- 33:25Speaker 1: I don't know. I've got a lot to think about still,
- 33:28Speaker 1: but one of the things I sent you that kind
- 33:32Speaker 1: of cracks me up is this movie, little known movie,
- 33:35Speaker 1: I think it went straight to video called gold Diggers.
- 33:40Speaker 1: The Secret of Bear Mountain. This movie. I don't know
- 33:47Speaker 1: what was going on in my life that I loved
- 33:52Speaker 1: this movie so much. But the plot is like, it's
- 33:57Speaker 1: a very You've got your girl and she has to
- 34:01Speaker 1: move to the country and there's talk of this trouble
- 34:07Speaker 1: maker who they become friends. Christina Ricci is the city
- 34:13Speaker 1: girl and Ah Slumsky is the kind of mountain mountain
- 34:17Speaker 1: girl and they become unlikely friends. It is a very,
- 34:22Speaker 1: like looking back, a pretty dark plot because Anna Slumsky's
- 34:26Speaker 1: father's abusive and like you actually see it happen, her
- 34:30Speaker 1: mother ends up in the hospital, she has injuries. There's
- 34:34Speaker 1: like a near drowning scene that still.
- 34:35Speaker 2: Sticks with me.
- 34:37Speaker 1: But I remember being pretty young watching this. I get
- 34:41Speaker 1: eight or nine, I think, and I wanted them to kiss.
- 34:45Speaker 1: I remember very clearly. I just was like, this is it.
- 34:51Speaker 1: I mean, I feel like they should kiss and they're
- 34:53Speaker 1: perfect for each other, and it was sort of the
- 34:57Speaker 1: I never would have at that moment said oh, you're gay,
- 35:00Speaker 1: but I just remember thinking, oh, I want so bad.
- 35:07Speaker 2: I feel like Christina Ricci maybe a poster girl for
- 35:10Speaker 2: so many movies like that mm hmm, because she was
- 35:13Speaker 2: also in U now and then, which they like they
- 35:17Speaker 2: never pretend like any of them are lesbians, but it
- 35:20Speaker 2: definitely has like Rosie o'donald to me Moore all of them.
- 35:24Speaker 2: And there's this aspect of these like the girls being
- 35:28Speaker 2: so close that it kind of would make sense now
- 35:32Speaker 2: and then. It's probably one of my favorite favorite movies
- 35:34Speaker 2: growing up. But like I'm thinking about so many of
- 35:37Speaker 2: the things, is also like sleepy hollow, you kind of
- 35:40Speaker 2: like she not that she want her to be with
- 35:42Speaker 2: the girl, but she's she feels like she's built for
- 35:47Speaker 2: other women or some of the men. I don't know, Like, like,
- 35:50Speaker 2: am I being odd about this?
- 35:53Speaker 1: Yes?
- 35:54Speaker 2: Yes I am.
- 35:54Speaker 1: No, I mean I can't specify why, because it's not
- 35:58Speaker 1: like I hadn't seen movies that had to write girls
- 36:03Speaker 1: and them that were best friends, and I hadn't been like, oh,
- 36:07Speaker 1: they should make out this one in specific either the
- 36:10Speaker 1: time was right. I haven't seen this movie in forever,
- 36:13Speaker 1: so I can't say. Maybe there was some vibe going
- 36:15Speaker 1: on that I was picking up.
- 36:16Speaker 2: On, don't it's always like again Christina Ricci, I think
- 36:22Speaker 2: it might be her.
- 36:23Speaker 1: But also one of the things that and this I
- 36:28Speaker 1: think I had not I hadn't even discovered fan fiction yet,
- 36:31Speaker 1: but it was right around the corner was coming. But
- 36:35Speaker 1: one of the things that I really enjoy that can
- 36:38Speaker 1: be platonic and should be platonic, but also can be
- 36:41Speaker 1: romantic and should be romantic, is I love like when
- 36:44Speaker 1: people just fiercely care about each other, Like I love
- 36:47Speaker 1: like kind of that protective I'm with you, I'm going
- 36:50Speaker 1: to protect you. And I feel like that's sort of
- 36:53Speaker 1: what was going on here, is that they were both
- 36:55Speaker 1: very protective of each other.
- 36:58Speaker 2: I can see that.
- 36:59Speaker 1: Yeah, that's definitely one of my my.
- 37:01Speaker 2: Things again now and then it was close to that
- 37:04Speaker 2: as well. I think I would I would go to
- 37:06Speaker 2: that as well.
- 37:06Speaker 1: Mm hmmm hmmm. Well, my final one I've already talked about,
- 37:11Speaker 1: and that was Black Swan, and I want to mention
- 37:13Speaker 1: it because it was the first time in my entire
- 37:15Speaker 1: life I ever had a sex stream. Was after I
- 37:17Speaker 1: saw that movie.
- 37:18Speaker 2: That's right, that's.
- 37:25Speaker 1: Natalie Portman did show up on a lot of people's list.
- 37:29Speaker 2: I was trying to think if she ever made my
- 37:30Speaker 2: list because I saw Black Swan coming up like and
- 37:33Speaker 2: being like, ooh no, because I saw her in Shoot
- 37:41Speaker 2: where she's pregnant. Oh no, Her first movie I saw
- 37:43Speaker 2: was a professional Yeah, which makes me sad look back
- 37:47Speaker 2: on it because she was really mistreated. But I did
- 37:49Speaker 2: love that movie, and now I'm like, oh, no, that's awful.
- 37:52Speaker 2: But then but then like.
- 37:53Speaker 1: The movie uh where the Hurts?
- 37:56Speaker 2: Yes, that when I read the book first, she was
- 38:00Speaker 2: so I thought she was such a bad actor.
- 38:05Speaker 1: In it that I was like, No, I kind of
- 38:09Speaker 1: had a crush on her, as Padme.
- 38:11Speaker 2: I assumed you did. I thought that's what you were
- 38:13Speaker 2: talking about when you were talking about like prequels and sequels.
- 38:16Speaker 1: No, no, but I think again, I don't think I
- 38:19Speaker 1: would have ever. I just assumed I wasn't gay, And
- 38:22Speaker 1: it kind of breaks my heart now, right, But I
- 38:24Speaker 1: just assumed I wasn't. So I think I was more like, oh,
- 38:26Speaker 1: she's a really cool and I did find her very attractive,
- 38:30Speaker 1: But I think it was more like I thought it
- 38:32Speaker 1: was appreciating, Oh she's a beautiful woman, and look at
- 38:34Speaker 1: this fashion, and she's like our lead character.
- 38:37Speaker 2: Right. Was Kate blanch It on any of the lists,
- 38:40Speaker 2: cause I would assume, like.
- 38:41Speaker 1: The thor I didn't see any of that.
- 38:43Speaker 2: But honestly, a character I would put her up there.
- 38:46Speaker 1: I didn't if listeners. Again, please send in your thoughts. Yes,
- 38:51Speaker 1: but because I didn't find as much as I thought
- 38:54Speaker 1: I would, And it's perhaps I wasn't entering the correct
- 38:57Speaker 1: Google search, but I didn't think because I would have
- 39:01Speaker 1: included that, right, I don't think I saw that one,
- 39:03Speaker 1: but I've even mm hmm.
- 39:06Speaker 2: I mean between her and Tessa Thompson, I would assume
- 39:11Speaker 2: the two of them would have been on that list.
- 39:13Speaker 1: Yes, I I thought there would be more Tessa Thompson, uh,
- 39:19Speaker 1: because she was definitely but at that point I already
- 39:21Speaker 1: knew I was queer, so I.
- 39:22Speaker 2: Was like, yeah, but like maybe it's just all the
- 39:25Speaker 2: old movies, because I would have, like I said, thought
- 39:27Speaker 2: that that especially thora Ragnarrock would have been pretty high
- 39:31Speaker 2: on that list because the two of them really just
- 39:33Speaker 2: kind of carried.
- 39:34Speaker 1: Yeah, that would be interesting if you compare sort of
- 39:38Speaker 1: you know, younger generations or generations, because that might show up,
- 39:41Speaker 1: like maybe a decade from now on people's list who
- 39:44Speaker 1: haven't you know, realized that they're fi. Yeah, yes, that'd
- 39:48Speaker 1: be interesting, and again please send in your suggestions. But
- 39:53Speaker 1: also this was when you're attracted to someone that doesn't
- 39:57Speaker 1: necessarily add all mean you're gay. But we were just
- 39:59Speaker 1: having I know, this conversation about when you start to
- 40:03Speaker 1: think maybe.
- 40:05Speaker 2: At this point is like oh this makes sense, right,
- 40:07Speaker 2: You're like, oh.
- 40:09Speaker 1: Like for me it was X files and for not
- 40:11Speaker 1: just me it was x files. But a lot of
- 40:13Speaker 1: people did say this is when I realized, right, So
- 40:18Speaker 1: it's not it doesn't have to be that, but it
- 40:20Speaker 1: has been that for a lot of people.
- 40:22Speaker 2: And then for us it's just like questioning because they
- 40:26Speaker 2: could be like, oh that, I can see it. I
- 40:30Speaker 2: think that moment too.
- 40:31Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I feel like I'm gonna afterward die. I'm
- 40:36Speaker 1: going to have this whole epiphany of so many more.
- 40:39Speaker 1: But I feel like gold Digger's The Secret of Bear
- 40:42Speaker 1: Mountain was that that was that was gold. But I can.
- 40:44Speaker 2: Remembering that one between you and I and maybe with
- 40:47Speaker 2: the who plays Roger Rabbit, but like, okay, that keep
- 40:51Speaker 2: that in the interesting boy.
- 40:55Speaker 1: I love it. I love it. I mean I have
- 40:57Speaker 1: on my phone because I'm a total nerd the list
- 40:59Speaker 1: of all the crushes I've had in my life, and
- 41:00Speaker 1: some of them are outright embarrassing in their cartoons and
- 41:03Speaker 1: it's like what was going on here? But Yes, we
