- 0:02Tad Eggleston: Good evening, everybody! Welcome back to the Love & Rockets Book Club on 22 Panels. I'm Tad, I'm joined by Maria and Marisol. Today, we are going to discuss Love and Rockets Volume 2, No. 12, and the final issue of Luba Comics and Stories.
- 0:20Marisol: Hmm.
- 0:20Tad Eggleston: Number 8.
- 0:22Tad Eggleston: So, how are you guys? It's been a couple of weeks, it's nice to see you again.
- 0:28Marisol: I'm good!
- 0:29Maria Pena: Yeah, me too, I'm good.
- 0:32Marisol: Things calmed down for you a little bit, Maria.
- 0:35Maria Pena: Yeah, yeah, I've been super busy, doing storyboards, and also doing a storyboard for a show for Netflix.
- 0:45Marisol: just a.
- 0:46Maria Pena: go to pray.
- 0:46Tad Eggleston: Fun!
- 0:47Maria Pena: Yeah, and, and, yeah, sort of filmed in New Zealand. It's a skiing, it's a skiing, sort of, series.
- 0:57Maria Pena: you know, sit in a, in a, you know, ski mountain, you know, people doing radical skiing. So there was a lot of, action scenes of people
- 1:07Maria Pena: And doing cool stuff, so that was… that was great, and also in ads. So, yeah, just… just being a bit.
- 1:16Maria Pena: So, finally was able to make it back.
- 1:20Maria Pena: Love a rocket?
- 1:22Marisol: I know you've got some breathing room.
- 1:24Maria Pena: Yep.
- 1:25Tad Eggleston: Well, and, and, and, like… money for, for, for vacations, or… or cool things, or whatever.
- 1:37Maria Pena: Basically, yeah, like, yeah, we are going… we are going away in October, from… I'm in Australia at the moment, and we're gonna go back to Malta in October, and then gonna go to Mexico, and
- 1:52Maria Pena: You know, so I'm seeing it as art residencies. I'm gonna do a lot of painting, bring in my plein air stuff, and I'm gonna be… I'm gonna paint as much as I can from life in those places.
- 2:05Tad Eggleston: Cool.
- 2:05Maria Pena: That's the intention. We'll see if I can…
- 2:12Marisol: That's awesome.
- 2:13Maria Pena: Yeah, thank you.
- 2:16Tad Eggleston: Portugal.
- 2:18Maria Pena: So we'll start with, Luba.
- 2:21Tad Eggleston: Yeah, let's start with some Luba comics and stories.
- 2:25Tad Eggleston: That's what I put up first.
- 2:27Tad Eggleston: Because…
- 2:28Maria Pena: Yep.
- 2:28Tad Eggleston: I loved both of these issues, but this one…
- 2:30Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 2:31Tad Eggleston: like.
- 2:32Maria Pena: See what you're saying.
- 2:32Tad Eggleston: It was such a gut punch.
- 2:34Maria Pena: Yeah, yeah, I wasn't expecting it. I love the, the, the credits? The credits?
- 2:41Tad Eggleston: Read by Fritz?
- 2:44Maria Pena: Bread by Fritz, and… So…
- 2:47Tad Eggleston: Who doesn't have the lisp if she speaks in French?
- 2:50Maria Pena: I must be, she must be speaking, of course. Yeah. No, it was great, because each panel is telling you who did this and who did that.
- 2:59Tad Eggleston: Right?
- 3:03Maria Pena: Oops.
- 3:05Tad Eggleston: Then we've got… I don't know…
- 3:10Tad Eggleston: We haven't… have we focused on Guadalupe for a story before? Maybe… maybe when she got…
- 3:16Marisol: put together…
- 3:18Maria Pena: Ratto.
- 3:19Marisol: It's gone.
- 3:19Tad Eggleston: matelle.
- 3:21Marisol: Yeah, it's been a while, though.
- 3:23Tad Eggleston: But, but, yeah…
- 3:24Marisol: I've seen her here and there.
- 3:26Tad Eggleston: I mean, she's in a lot of stories, I just don't feel like she's the central character.
- 3:32Tad Eggleston: that offer. Yeah. So it's kind of cool to have…
- 3:36Maria Pena: Her as the narrator.
- 3:39Maria Pena: Total.
- 3:41Tad Eggleston: Kind of filling in the gaps, because… because we're picking up, it says, what, 5 years after the sisters talked
- 3:48Tad Eggleston: Like, wasn't it the last issue where it kept saying, it'll be another day until the… the…
- 3:54Tad Eggleston: Sisters, stop talking to each other.
- 3:57Maria Pena: Right? Yeah.
- 3:58Tad Eggleston: And now we're down the road, and we're getting hints of the why, but we're still not getting the why.
- 4:06Tad Eggleston: Mom.
- 4:08Maria Pena: At the beginning, yeah, well… the why is the movie, right?
- 4:14Tad Eggleston: Well…
- 4:15Maria Pena: Oh, no, actually, no, no.
- 4:17Marisol: That's a part of it, isn't it?
- 4:19Tad Eggleston: There's implications…
- 4:20Maria Pena: No, that's the chips that it might be?
- 4:22Maria Pena: No, no, no, it's Luba who doesn't talk to… Oh, is that we would… Who we're talking about, because…
- 4:31Maria Pena: Petra and Fritz are not talking either.
- 4:34Tad Eggleston: Right, none of them are talking.
- 4:37Tad Eggleston: Yeah.
- 4:38Tad Eggleston: And, like, even though there's the suggestion that it's, like, Fritz stole the role from Marisola, then you've got the scene where Marisola talks about, no, I gave it to her, I wanted her to take it, I… acting wasn't the thing that I was gonna do, I wanted to write movies.
- 4:56Maria Pena: Yeah, that's right.
- 4:57Tad Eggleston: And man, was it hard to see… like, post-cancer Marisola?
- 5:06Marisol: Oof.
- 5:07Tad Eggleston: this.
- 5:08Maria Pena: The release, the release.
- 5:09Tad Eggleston: Oh, I'm sorry, Dory Elise, yeah.
- 5:12Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 5:12Maria Pena: Yeah, like, it was like, oh, shit, that's the only…
- 5:16Tad Eggleston: Right.
- 5:16Maria Pena: And, oh.
- 5:19Maria Pena: Like, it's amazing how Beto can make her, like, you can tell by the freckles, right?
- 5:26Tad Eggleston: Yeah.
- 5:28Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 5:29Maria Pena: Still her.
- 5:31Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 5:33Maria Pena: Such a good Should we go in some kind of order?
- 5:39Tad Eggleston: Yes, we should.
- 5:40Maria Pena: Yeah, I mean…
- 5:42Tad Eggleston: I just had so many thoughts that I went all over the place, I'm sorry.
- 5:45Maria Pena: That's alright, that's alright.
- 5:47Maria Pena: So… and I was thinking, you know, we should describe what we're… what page we're on and what we're looking at, you know, because I'm thinking, people listening to this, they're probably thinking, what panel? What page? What are you talking about? If they were following up with us.
- 6:05Maria Pena: Yeah, if they were actually listening and following.
- 6:08Tad Eggleston: I think they're mostly just listening to us rather than following along with the book.
- 6:13Tad Eggleston: I could be wrong.
- 6:15Maria Pena: But, you know, like, we go, wow, that's a fantastic panel, blah blah blah.
- 6:20Tad Eggleston: I do, I do love…
- 6:22Maria Pena: I don't…
- 6:25Tad Eggleston: I do love that we're, we're starting to get introduced to…
- 6:30Tad Eggleston: Like, his future comics via movie posters.
- 6:34Maria Pena: Yeah, God, she's done a lot of really big, great movies, all pretty.
- 6:38Tad Eggleston: Alright. Troublemakers, there's a movie poster for… Right off the bat.
- 6:46Maria Pena: And then you go through… we go through on page, 3, I think? 3? No.
- 6:51Maria Pena: Nope, nope, Katie, next one.
- 6:53Maria Pena: Before…
- 6:54Tad Eggleston: Jason.
- 6:55Maria Pena: Page 4, we have, like, little short snippets of her movie.
- 7:00Tad Eggleston: Right.
- 7:02Maria Pena: And then we have the titles.
- 7:04Maria Pena: That's significant.
- 7:05Tad Eggleston: Right. Troublemakers…
- 7:06Maria Pena: Okay, the troublemaker.
- 7:10Tad Eggleston: there now.
- 7:11Maria Pena: Black Cat Moon, the seven old-girl Kung Fu Killer Clones. For sure.
- 7:17Tad Eggleston: Sinners only.
- 7:18Maria Pena: Holy, the Earthians, I love that. Stay back, the Greece, Lexar!
- 7:27Maria Pena: With her boobs, too messy.
- 7:30Tad Eggleston: I think so far, of these five, he's only made the Troublemakers into a full graphic novel.
- 7:36Maria Pena: Oh, okay.
- 7:38Maria Pena: And the three misty guys, which I thought the poster later on was hilarious, with the three icons.
- 7:44Tad Eggleston: Yeah.
- 7:44Marisol: Well, there's room for more!
- 7:48Marisol: He wants to do those in the future?
- 7:50Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 7:52Maria Pena: Oh, and what people want… introduces Guadalupe with a guy with a massive…
- 7:58Maria Pena: Shlong. Yeah. But they're both, like, big penises.
- 8:05Maria Pena: And she protests a lot. Oh, no, no, and then she ends up sleeping with.
- 8:10Tad Eggleston: Yeah, then she changes her mind at the end, but it's kind of…
- 8:12Marisol: Yep.
- 8:13Tad Eggleston: unsatisfied.
- 8:15Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 8:17Maria Pena: Oh, and so we're in the future now, and Petra has gained weight, and Venus is grown up, still grown up.
- 8:26Marisol: Yes.
- 8:28Tad Eggleston: Venus is definitely a teenager now.
- 8:31Tad Eggleston: Totally acting it.
- 8:33Maria Pena: Yeah. Yeah.
- 8:36Maria Pena: Yes.
- 8:37Maria Pena: Whoa.
- 8:38Marisol: But still, so very much Venus.
- 8:40Tad Eggleston: Oh, yeah.
- 8:40Maria Pena: Yeah, that's what I was thinking, he's so good, like… Venus still looks like, like, Like Venus, yeah.
- 8:50Tad Eggleston: You know, Petra's like, if you're dating this show, I'd love a copy, honey. You got it, and Venus is just snarky. Only if you delete all the scenes with Fritz in them.
- 9:03Maria Pena: Yes.
- 9:04Tad Eggleston: I know.
- 9:05Maria Pena: And she's still being… being a bit cheeky.
- 9:10Maria Pena: But, you know, she's got hips now.
- 9:13Marisol: Oh, yeah.
- 9:14Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 9:16Maria Pena: It's my brother.
- 9:20Maria Pena: This is sick.
- 9:24Maria Pena: Boston?
- 9:29Marisol: And we didn't see…
- 9:31Maria Pena: Sorry, guys.
- 9:32Marisol: Guadalupe with the… the, little girl as… her little girl as a baby, did we?
- 9:42Tad Eggleston: I think we did.
- 9:48Marisol: I don't remember that.
- 9:52Maria Pena: And, so, Hector looks pretty different. He's older, I guess.
- 9:59Marisol: Hmm.
- 10:00Maria Pena: I didn't recognize him for a minute there with the light hair. I think that's gray hair? Is it, like…
- 10:07Maria Pena: He's a great…
- 10:08Marisol: Yep.
- 10:10Maria Pena: Yeah, just his eyes are pretty distinctive. He's being actor, he's got that eyeliner look.
- 10:22Maria Pena: Oh, that was fun. So, page 10,
- 10:27Maria Pena: people… what was… Guadalupe didn't want to come over to sleep with the guy with the beach lawn, and he's like, oh, God, you know, it's obviously, erect or something, and people helps him out, like, really.
- 10:44Maria Pena: Excuse me.
- 10:45Tad Eggleston: Well, what I, what I love is…
- 10:46Maria Pena: pricing here.
- 10:48Tad Eggleston: He's like…
- 10:49Tad Eggleston: If I may be so bold, your oral artistry is the stuff of legend. Women can only handle it for a few seconds or so before they gag at…
- 11:01Maria Pena: The ambulance.
- 11:03Tad Eggleston: seconds long.
- 11:04Marisol: Yeah, everything.
- 11:04Tad Eggleston: usual, I'm getting rusty.
- 11:07Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 11:08Marisol: That's… I love that scene, just her looking at her watch all non.
- 11:12Tad Eggleston: Shalana.
- 11:13Marisol: Not the whole thing.
- 11:14Maria Pena: I just saw that was nothing, you know.
- 11:17Maria Pena: But I guess, I guess she was used to gato.
- 11:22Marisol: People's a professional, clearly.
- 11:25Maria Pena: Apparently, she's good at it.
- 11:27Maria Pena: Yeah, it's funny. That seems stuck in mind. You know, that's the kind of animals we are.
- 11:36Maria Pena: So… Next page, what's the… Sweet.
- 11:45Maria Pena: Is that… okay.
- 11:50Maria Pena: And then, now we have a look at Luma, who's also…
- 11:54Marisol: Let's good.
- 11:55Maria Pena: Oh, white hair.
- 11:56Tad Eggleston: Cold and tired.
- 11:59Maria Pena: Yep.
- 12:02Marisol: Still bill.
- 12:02Tad Eggleston: Where's Kamo?
- 12:04Tad Eggleston: We don't see Kamo at all.
- 12:06Maria Pena: Well, I think that's what… is that what Walupe was asking? What happened with your…
- 12:11Maria Pena: Yeah, I've been seeing your husband. Oh, this is not the same, though.
- 12:22Maria Pena: Yes.
- 12:24Maria Pena: So… Luba, old, what's next?
- 12:33Tad Eggleston: Haha!
- 12:35Tad Eggleston: Omega.
- 12:39Maria Pena: Do I… I don't remember Gatto and…
- 12:42Maria Pena: What, Sergio, did they die in a car crash? Am I… have a good amnesia?
- 12:47Tad Eggleston: I don't… I think… I forget if that was on-screen or off-screen.
- 12:52Maria Pena: I mean, not in this, in this one, but they mentioned it, and I went, what? You know?
- 12:56Tad Eggleston: Yeah.
- 12:57Maria Pena: When did that happen? Yeah, I… I guess because we…
- 13:03Marisol: the shit out of Fortunato and, like, drove off in a car together. I don't remember if they showed them dying.
- 13:11Tad Eggleston: I don't remember that either.
- 13:13Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 13:15Maria Pena: And so much happens in these.
- 13:19Maria Pena: Oh, and the next page, on page 13, Venus, top, top, top panel there, I think that quote that she says.
- 13:29Maria Pena: What's the best thing of all, Venus? To crush your enemies, to drive them before you, and hear the lamentations of the women. I think that's from Conan the Barbarian.
- 13:38Tad Eggleston: That sounds right.
- 13:39Maria Pena: Yeah. From the movie, you know, with Arnold Schwartz in it.
- 13:44Maria Pena: And it totally makes sense. I thought I've heard that before.
- 13:48Tad Eggleston: Totally fits.
- 13:49Maria Pena: To crush your enemies, to drive them before you, and heed the lamentations of the women.
- 13:56Maria Pena: Oh, so here's… this is still on page… what was it, Pen?
- 14:06Marisol: team?
- 14:07Maria Pena: Yeah, I can't see the bottom of the picture.
- 14:10Marisol: Yeah.
- 14:11Maria Pena: Fantastic.
- 14:12Marisol: 13, right?
- 14:14Maria Pena: Mmm.
- 14:15Marisol: Zoomed in a bit.
- 14:16Maria Pena: Anyway, the…
- 14:18Marisol: So…
- 14:18Maria Pena: So they… so… before I was with ECTO… oh yeah, 30.
- 14:23Maria Pena: Well, he lived with Theopetra. She kicked him out when she found out he and my Theopritz were together shortly before, but kept it a secret. So, Fritz keeps doing this.
- 14:35Maria Pena: Because in the thing, the, phrase… slept with Petra's husband.
- 14:45Maria Pena: And then introduced him to her.
- 14:48Maria Pena: And then Petra married him. Was that in 11 Rockets? Am I getting confused?
- 14:55Tad Eggleston: No, that's literally in the other issue that we read today.
- 14:59Maria Pena: Oh, okay, right. So, maybe that's the reason they're not talking to each other. I don't know.
- 15:08Marisol: Yes, it says here that… The whole secret thing with Hector was enough for Petra to shun Fritz.
- 15:17Marisol: And then there was also a film… that Fritz did… Her first starring role…
- 15:26Marisol: And then that's when Petra stopped talking to both Fritz and Luba.
- 15:34Maria Pena: Yes.
- 15:35Maria Pena: So I think it's somewhere in there is the reason they're not…
- 15:40Maria Pena: What… or is that it? That's the reason?
- 15:43Marisol: Seems like that's it. At least that's the reason for Petra not talking to them.
- 15:47Tad Eggleston: I mean…
- 15:51Tad Eggleston: there seems to be implications that there was some sort of blowout as well, so, I mean, I don't…
- 15:59Tad Eggleston: I don't know how to read into any of this.
- 16:02Tad Eggleston: Sometimes it feels like they're telling me a reason, sometimes it feels like they're telling me a… possible reason.
- 16:10Tad Eggleston: For a reason that somebody might assume.
- 16:15Maria Pena: Well, I think it's pretty clear there. Because, Guadalupe is talking about is so… it is so incestuous that everybody sleeps with everybody, but I think she's talking about Fritz and Petra, because
- 16:31Maria Pena: They seem to share, you know.
- 16:33Maria Pena: Well, and pe… no, people, and people's sons, living with Guadalupe, and, you know, it's like…
- 16:41Marisol: Included.
- 16:42Maria Pena: People's now with friends!
- 16:45Tad Eggleston: I mean, they do seem to be blaming it on…
- 16:48Tad Eggleston: Also, Fritz taking on the… the Maria M.
- 16:52Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 16:53Marisol: Yep.
- 16:57Maria Pena: I wonder if, the… so now we're looking at the poster coming soon, Maria M.
- 17:03Maria Pena: And…
- 17:04Maria Pena: And I look at all those names at the bottom, and I think they're probably mates, you know. That's what I would put…
- 17:12Maria Pena: Put my friends' names.
- 17:15Maria Pena: Or people that…
- 17:16Marisol: Yeah.
- 17:18Tad Eggleston: Right.
- 17:18Maria Pena: anything, I guess, this won't trust.
- 17:22Maria Pena: The epic graphic novelization by Gilbert Hernandez.
- 17:27Maria Pena: So it was a movie first, and then…
- 17:31Tad Eggleston: I don't think it was ever a movie… it was… it's a movie in… Yeah, I don't know.
- 17:36Maria Pena: And then there's a graphic novel by Gilbert.
- 17:40Tad Eggleston: Right.
- 17:41Tad Eggleston: But it's only a movie in… in universe.
- 17:45Maria Pena: Yeah, yeah.
- 17:45Tad Eggleston: Not in our universe, just in their…
- 17:48Maria Pena: No, no, no.
- 17:50Maria Pena: Yeah, yeah, their universe, but it's also… Boom.
- 18:00Maria Pena: So, yeah, we keep seeing the posters of all of, Breath's movies, Pick up the Devil, Right.
- 18:08Maria Pena: That's fair.
- 18:10Tad Eggleston: Remastered Director's Cut.
- 18:12Maria Pena: Oh yeah, there's a lot of director's cut. Oh, the mystic Eyes, there it is.
- 18:16Maria Pena: Autumn facial.
- 18:18Maria Pena: That is hilarious, with the eyeballs floating around, and Fritz.
- 18:22Maria Pena: The old dog!
- 18:24Marisol: little note on Rated Director's edition.
- 18:27Maria Pena: I'm right here.
- 18:30Marisol: Little Bastille with her trusty hammer.
- 18:33Maria Pena: Yep.
- 18:39Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 18:43Maria Pena: And then, we have… the… The rushes or something for, okay.
- 18:54Maria Pena: No, the story.
- 18:55Tad Eggleston: I think that's the Dora Lee screen test for…
- 18:59Maria Pena: Yeah, it's the… well.
- 19:01Tad Eggleston: Maria M?
- 19:03Maria Pena: It's Frit… no, it's not… is it? No, I think that's… that's Fritz. I think she's just looking at the… at the… a rough cut of the film.
- 19:13Marisol: No, that's… that's the release.
- 19:14Tad Eggleston: No, because it says, we can screen your test another time. No, I'm embarrassed with what I've seen, people.
- 19:22Maria Pena: Oh, I think it's time to replace me with your second choice. Right.
- 19:26Maria Pena: Okay, I guess she had makeup.
- 19:30Maria Pena: Alright.
- 19:31Maria Pena: So then, second choice is Fritz, then she gets…
- 19:39Maria Pena: Right.
- 19:41Maria Pena: Let's see…
- 19:43Tad Eggleston: I love the family portrait here.
- 19:46Maria Pena: Oh, they're all, dressed in black in this page.
- 19:51Maria Pena: Is that… are they going to the funeral? Like, have we jumped in town? Oh, no, there's… nobody says the release there.
- 19:59Maria Pena: Okay.
- 19:59Maria Pena: Alright, good.
- 20:01Marisol: I think that's just all their, like, coats and stuff.
- 20:04Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 20:04Marisol: on their way to have this portrait taken, and I think that portrait might be my favorite.
- 20:09Marisol: Panel of this book.
- 20:11Tad Eggleston: I think… I think it's definitely likely to be mine.
- 20:16Marisol: It's just nice seeing all of them together.
- 20:18Tad Eggleston: Yeah.
- 20:26Marisol: I still whip her little arm.
- 20:30Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 20:37Maria Pena: I had to go back to the beginning of this and go, wait, what happened? When I saw this page with,
- 20:46Maria Pena: 8.
- 20:49Maria Pena: the, your release… Bald and really skinny.
- 20:57Maria Pena: And then, oh, this, this page is just… Heartbreaking.
- 21:04Tad Eggleston: Yeah.
- 21:04Maria Pena: Because they're calling Luba from the hospital, and Doralis dies while they're on the phone.
- 21:13Maria Pena: And she's waiting on the cab.
- 21:15Marisol: Yep.
- 21:18Marisol: Ugh.
- 21:20Marisol: Is this hard to read?
- 21:23Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 21:30Maria Pena: So…
- 21:35Tad Eggleston: This is a great shot, too.
- 21:39Maria Pena: Yeah, so that's it.
- 21:40Marisol: Back in Pena.
- 21:41Maria Pena: Inside of… inside of back page, or is it the back page?
- 21:45Tad Eggleston: Now you can see each side of the back page.
- 21:47Tad Eggleston: Cover historally.
- 21:49Maria Pena: Yeah, of the three of them, and that covers, at least.
- 21:53Maria Pena: True.
- 21:55Maria Pena: Yeah, that was sad.
- 21:57Marisol: Ugh.
- 22:00Marisol: How dare they make me feel feelings in my own home?
- 22:03Tad Eggleston: Shit.
- 22:05Marisol: It's very rude.
- 22:07Tad Eggleston: There were… there were feelings in the other one, too.
- 22:11Marisol: Ugh.
- 22:11Maria Pena: Mmm.
- 22:13Maria Pena: Yes.
- 22:15Marisol: It was doubly rude.
- 22:20Maria Pena: Great stuff from Hyman Love and Rockets.
- 22:24Maria Pena: So what's this, Lover Rockets number 12?
- 22:28Tad Eggleston: Movin' Rockets Volume 2, Number 12.
- 22:31Tad Eggleston: We laid off with some… some… some… Doyle, Viv, and Ray.
- 22:38Maria Pena: Yes.
- 22:39Marisol: Oh, Vivian.
- 22:43Maria Pena: I love the first, page where she's just walking around rehearsing some lines.
- 22:50Tad Eggleston: Yeah.
- 22:51Maria Pena: Is she… is she in a… in a movie, or what? They are.
- 22:55Maria Pena: And… and then she notices that Ray's still there, and she freaks out. I love that! Oh, fucking shit!
- 23:05Maria Pena: And… And he's like, what?
- 23:08Maria Pena: And he's… it's just a great, panel.
- 23:12Maria Pena: That… A little bit, dagwood, or, like, the sweat beads, like, flying…
- 23:22Tad Eggleston: Yep.
- 23:24Tad Eggleston: Nope.
- 23:25Marisol: I also love that tiny detail of the little toe poking out of Ray's sock.
- 23:31Maria Pena: Yeah, yeah, he's so…
- 23:32Marisol: Another hole in his.
- 23:33Maria Pena: Me, darning.
- 23:35Maria Pena: Yeah, yeah.
- 23:37Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 23:45Maria Pena: Yeah, this is a lot of great, naturalism, you know, like, when Ray, in this
- 23:53Maria Pena: this page that we're on, whatever it is, obviously.
- 23:59Tad Eggleston: or…
- 24:00Maria Pena: Page 4, so, Sir Ray is sort of giving… flipping him the finger surreptitiously to, you know,
- 24:11Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 24:12Marisol: With his hand out the window?
- 24:14Maria Pena: It turned out the window, and just, just poking the middle finger at the middle.
- 24:21Maria Pena: There's a lot of just, you know, it's mostly Doyle and Viv carrying on a race, just listening and reacting.
- 24:31Tad Eggleston: That's one of the things that Ray is best at.
- 24:34Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 24:36Maria Pena: Yeah, it just kind of observes, doesn't it?
- 24:39Tad Eggleston: For the Gen Xers out there, I would… if I ever met Kevin Smith, I might almost have to ask him if Silent Bob is based on Ray.
- 24:51Maria Pena: Wow.
- 24:53Tad Eggleston: Ray talks a little bit more than Silent Bob, but he's still very much the…
- 24:57Tad Eggleston: Observant, and when he speaks, he has something to say.
- 25:03Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 25:03Maria Pena: And I think, you know, I think Ray is Jaime, you know, really.
- 25:07Tad Eggleston: Oh, definitely. Definitely.
- 25:08Maria Pena: Yeah, yeah.
- 25:10Maria Pena: I love that last frame there on page 5 with, like, just the expressions, like, what the fuck did I miss anyway? And Doyle, and Ray.
- 25:20Tad Eggleston: Panels, Mars, Newsprint, Irrigation, Rowe, Montezuma.
- 25:28Maria Pena: Head into his hands, and even a little squiggle above his head, like…
- 25:32Tad Eggleston: Yeah.
- 25:33Maria Pena: It's just lovely.
- 25:38Maria Pena: Lovely comic with that car. Harry doesn't care about cars, obviously, it just throws whatever. Like, what the fuck is that car?
- 25:50Marisol: The most basic, basic car, and it looks so tiny.
- 25:54Maria Pena: Me too. Yeah, yeah. Like, it doesn't look like a… yeah.
- 25:59Maria Pena: anything… maybe there was a car in the US that looked like that, but it's like, I don't think so.
- 26:06Maria Pena: Please say that whatever fits in the panel.
- 26:13Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 26:15Marisol: I just love the way Jaime draws expressions on people's faces.
- 26:19Tad Eggleston: Yeah.
- 26:21Maria Pena: Yeah, it's very… because he is Ray, and he's the observer, he observes people very…
- 26:30Tad Eggleston: We got a Julio stay.
- 26:33Marisol: Yay!
- 26:33Tad Eggleston: Who's.
- 26:34Maria Pena: I, this was great, with that veteran from the First War who can't talk.
- 26:41Maria Pena: He keeps trying to escape.
- 26:43Maria Pena: And only… was it Sophia?
- 26:46Maria Pena: that… Worked out what the problem was, that…
- 26:52Maria Pena: He's in the wrong house or something.
- 26:55Tad Eggleston: I think so.
- 26:56Maria Pena: Yeah, CPO.
- 26:59Maria Pena: that she's… It's not your fault, just sizing through the window and…
- 27:05Maria Pena: Because it's not your fault, Mr. People got you mixed up, and now you're here, your family will come. And then this stranger comes into town, and it's him.
- 27:14Maria Pena: When he was younger, like a ghost.
- 27:18Maria Pena: Isn't it? It's him.
- 27:20Maria Pena: It's a thin guy.
- 27:24Maria Pena: Tellings.
- 27:24Marisol: I like it.
- 27:28Marisol: It also could just be the hair, but he makes me think of Fortunato.
- 27:31Tad Eggleston: He tests us.
- 27:33Marisol: Yeah.
- 27:35Tad Eggleston: seeing Fortunados.
- 27:36Marisol: Agent.
- 27:37Tad Eggleston: story.
- 27:38Marisol: Right. It doesn't quite have the same, you know, variation somewhat.
- 27:43Maria Pena: Wait, no.
- 27:45Maria Pena: Oh, no, no, it's not him.
- 27:47Maria Pena: I thought it was some kind of magic realism. This is the guy that was supposed to be that other guy. Looks like him.
- 27:54Maria Pena: But they didn't recon… people didn't recognize him, they got mixed up.
- 27:59Tad Eggleston: Right.
- 28:00Maria Pena: So this guy has come back.
- 28:03Maria Pena: is the actual person that came from that town. They got mixed up by the, with the,
- 28:12Maria Pena: with the… this… veteran that can't talk. And finally.
- 28:19Maria Pena: They swap back, so the petrol gets taken.
- 28:26Maria Pena: It's good to be home. Okay, I got… I got confused. Yeah, no, no, yeah, I thought it was… it was some kind of weird magic realism thing, you know, like…
- 28:35Maria Pena: Like, he came in spirit to…
- 28:39Maria Pena: To sort things out, but it wasn't…
- 28:42Marisol: I mean, I would have believed that, too.
- 28:45Maria Pena: Because, you know, we're used to kind of that sort of surreal.
- 28:49Marisol: Yeah.
- 28:51Marisol: It's been here since the beginning.
- 28:54Maria Pena: Yeah… So, yeah, so, yeah. Oh, this was great.
- 28:59Maria Pena: Regular inherits.
- 29:03Tad Eggleston: Back to… to Doyle, and Viv, and Ray, and…
- 29:08Tad Eggleston: Doyle getting into a massive fistfight.
- 29:11Maria Pena: That was a great fist fight.
- 29:14Maria Pena: The panel top right on page 11.
- 29:18Maria Pena: It's,
- 29:18Marisol: Oof.
- 29:19Maria Pena: That's, like, you can… Just the poses of everything.
- 29:24Tad Eggleston: No, I think…
- 29:25Marisol: And the car in the middle panel right there with…
- 29:28Marisol: Doyle's busted face, and then Ray's face being in shadow.
- 29:34Tad Eggleston: So, I love this bottom corner.
- 29:37Tad Eggleston: the… the… I never got to tell Doyle that I never got to get got with the frog mouth last night, that I slept on her stinking couch, and that was it. Seemed a little futile to mention on this particular day. I don't know.
- 29:52Tad Eggleston: But the panel is, like…
- 29:57Maria Pena: the looming image of Viv.
- 29:59Maria Pena: Yay!
- 30:00Tad Eggleston: it, it, it's like was straddling him, but then you.
- 30:04Maria Pena: Yes.
- 30:04Tad Eggleston: Him in his suit, looking up.
- 30:06Tad Eggleston: at her…
- 30:07Maria Pena: Hmm.
- 30:08Tad Eggleston: at her face.
- 30:10Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 30:11Tad Eggleston: You know, it's just… it's really well composed there.
- 30:15Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 30:17Marisol: Oh, yeah.
- 30:21Maria Pena: Hmm.
- 30:22Tad Eggleston: With a little crush.
- 30:23Marisol: We have copies.
- 30:26Maria Pena: Yes, I'll be trying different glasses.
- 30:30Tad Eggleston: I, I definitely, I definitely appreciate the, Harry Carey call-out.
- 30:37Maria Pena: He's very caring.
- 30:39Tad Eggleston: Who's Harry Carey? Harry Carey was the,
- 30:43Tad Eggleston: Cubs play-by-play announcer in my youth.
- 30:47Maria Pena: Hmm.
- 30:48Marisol: Oh.
- 30:49Maria Pena: Okay.
- 30:51Tad Eggleston: You can find much of his stuff on YouTube.
- 30:54Tad Eggleston: And Will Ferrell used to impersonate him on Saturday Night Live.
- 30:59Marisol: Huh.
- 30:59Maria Pena: Amen.
- 31:00Marisol: I'm sure I know who that is if I hear the voice.
- 31:03Tad Eggleston: But… but this is… this is… Jaime was definitely actually doing Harry Carey.
- 31:11Maria Pena: Holy cow!
- 31:12Tad Eggleston: Jaime, Jaime… You know, it would be more like, holy cow! Cubs win! Cubs win! The Cubs win!
- 31:22Maria Pena: Thank you.
- 31:23Tad Eggleston: The ecstasy of victory versus the agony of defeat!
- 31:32Tad Eggleston: He's also the one that brought Take Me Out to the Ball Game to Wrigley.
- 31:36Marisol: Oh!
- 31:37Marisol: Very nice.
- 31:44Tad Eggleston: I also love.
- 31:44Maria Pena: Yeah, that's Hopi, Hopi flirting with the, with the, the glasses lady.
- 31:53Tad Eggleston: I love how her girlfriend just… she's like, knows. She's like.
- 31:57Maria Pena: like, social…
- 31:58Tad Eggleston: She must have been cute.
- 32:00Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 32:02Maria Pena: Frisciado.
- 32:04Tad Eggleston: Yeah.
- 32:04Maria Pena: I wouldn't be happy with that.
- 32:07Tad Eggleston: No.
- 32:09Maria Pena: It's like, huh.
- 32:11Tad Eggleston: And I think eventually she wasn't.
- 32:14Maria Pena: Right.
- 32:16Tad Eggleston: Because that's not who Hopi's with now.
- 32:19Maria Pena: Right.
- 32:23Tad Eggleston: And this was…
- 32:25Maria Pena: Erase me.
- 32:27Tad Eggleston: Ray, dream, interlude…
- 32:30Maria Pena: it.
- 32:31Maria Pena: Ser or no ser.
- 32:35Maria Pena: thick title.
- 32:42Maria Pena: Oh, so this is the origin story of,
- 32:47Tad Eggleston: Petra's first husband?
- 32:49Maria Pena: I'll start Petra's first husband.
- 32:51Tad Eggleston: Yeah.
- 32:53Maria Pena: You have a special line to pick up women.
- 32:59Maria Pena: There's a sacred trust between children and the people who take care of him.
- 33:06Maria Pena: And then Petra finally… Tells me, well, that's a good line.
- 33:12Tad Eggleston: Such a venous line. My teacher said, now I'll have two daddies. You and my old daddy. She said it's a gift from God to me.
- 33:20Tad Eggleston: I wish I had a new Barbie instead.
- 33:27Marisol: God, I adore Venus so much.
- 33:31Tad Eggleston: them at her, Petra. Can't you be happy for me this one day, Venus? I'm pretty happy eating this big ol' hunk of cake!
- 33:39Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 33:47Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 33:49Marisol: I think that bottom panel on page… what was it 7?
- 33:53Marisol: And Venus saying she wished she had a Barbie is my favorite of this.
- 33:57Tad Eggleston: That's so good. So good.
- 33:59Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 34:04Marisol: Oh, she's just the best.
- 34:10Tad Eggleston: And…
- 34:11Tad Eggleston: I can't remember, did we… did we see this story from somebody else's perspective? Because I feel like we actually saw it at one point where we knew why
- 34:24Tad Eggleston: Fritz decided that it was time to be honest.
- 34:27Tad Eggleston: Whereas here, like, Petra being told is, like, an off-screen type of thing.
- 34:36Maria Pena: Hmm.
- 34:41Maria Pena: Yeah, I don't, I can't recall.
- 34:45Marisol: Maybe so.
- 34:46Tad Eggleston: Wasn't Petrus cheating on David?
- 34:51Tad Eggleston: Because weren't they, like, lab partners, and she had an affair going with somebody else at the lab?
- 34:56Maria Pena: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 34:57Marisol: Remember that.
- 35:02Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 35:05Maria Pena: Maybe there was a,
- 35:09Maria Pena: It's just kind of hard when…
- 35:12Maria Pena: She has to… she gives up a kid.
- 35:15Tad Eggleston: Yeah.
- 35:16Maria Pena: They're… Utah, yes.
- 35:22Maria Pena: Oh, the, the seahog, that was kind of, interesting. There was a bit of Seahawk at the beginning of…
- 35:31Maria Pena: Somewhere in this episode, or somewhere…
- 35:34Tad Eggleston: Well, and then we've got some Seahawk on the,
- 35:38Maria Pena: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, but you don't actually see this e-ho, but before… Somewhere in there, the beginning.
- 35:47Maria Pena: Brits, or someone is waving at the seal.
- 35:53Maria Pena: I mean, it's actually this monster coming out of the water.
- 35:59Maria Pena: So, that was his first, wife.
- 36:04Tad Eggleston: Yeah.
- 36:04Maria Pena: Darlene.
- 36:08Maria Pena: Here's looking at the receiver.
- 36:11Maria Pena: It does look like a home.
- 36:22Marisol: Ugh.
- 36:23Maria Pena: Yeah, this is very…
- 36:30Tad Eggleston: Yeah.
- 36:31Maria Pena: memory, to, like, remember the other… because he tells a story that's sort of a… you know, it's not non-linear, it's,
- 36:40Marisol: Hmm.
- 36:41Tad Eggleston: Well, and this is one of the reasons why I think that once we get done with… with the… the…
- 36:48Tad Eggleston: Reading issue by issue. We should go through in their… their phantographics
- 36:55Tad Eggleston: their 11 Rockets library editions, because those are more… Adapted to be…
- 37:01Marisol: Story by story.
- 37:02Tad Eggleston: Story by story, linear.
- 37:06Marisol: That would be nice.
- 37:07Tad Eggleston: Now.
- 37:10Marisol: Hopefully we don't have to try to, like, think back.
- 37:13Marisol: And rely off our memory of several months ago.
- 37:17Tad Eggleston: Well, and we'll also have our memories, so hopefully we'll all come together as we… as we read…
- 37:24Marisol: Yes.
- 37:24Tad Eggleston: So it'll be a little bit of each.
- 37:26Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 37:28Tad Eggleston: So…
- 37:29Maria Pena: Okay.
- 37:30Tad Eggleston: Alright, let's talk some favorite panels. I know…
- 37:36Tad Eggleston: My favorite Jaime panel, obviously, is In the Lovin' Rockets.
- 37:41Tad Eggleston: It's the… the one that I was talking about where we're…
- 37:46Tad Eggleston: Ray is… is saying that he didn't have the heart to tell
- 37:51Tad Eggleston: Doyle that he never got, got.
- 37:54Maria Pena: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 37:55Tad Eggleston: At the same time, dreaming of getting God.
- 37:59Maria Pena: Mmm.
- 37:59Marisol: It's a beautiful one.
- 38:02Maria Pena: Yep.
- 38:04Maria Pena: Yeah, that's good. Dream sequence.
- 38:08Maria Pena: Okay, but yeah, I know what you mean.
- 38:10Maria Pena: It's very, it's almost like 1940s.
- 38:15Maria Pena: film, I don't know.
- 38:19Maria Pena: Shit.
- 38:20Tad Eggleston: It definitely has a, a, like, movie poster feel to it.
- 38:24Maria Pena: Yeah, yes. Sure.
- 38:26Maria Pena: Yes, that's…
- 38:28Marisol: Especially with the all-black background.
- 38:30Tad Eggleston: Right.
- 38:34Maria Pena: Hmm… So…
- 38:36Marisol: I picked the one above that.
- 38:39Marisol: Mostly because I just noticed, like, zooming into it.
- 38:42Marisol: that I can't tell if Doyle is looking, like.
- 38:47Marisol: Straight ahead, and just being, like, that…
- 38:50Marisol: Silence, not looking at anybody, not saying anything in the car after his fight, or if he's looking out the window.
- 38:58Maria Pena: I was looking ahead, I think, and what you see there in the corner of his eye is blood from getting killed in the eye.
- 39:09Maria Pena: I think that's, like, a bloodshot eye, you know, like, you know.
- 39:12Tad Eggleston: Right.
- 39:13Maria Pena: But he's a pupil, and he's, you know, he's… I… His, eyeline is definitely… to the front.
- 39:25Tad Eggleston: He's definitely got a bruised cheek.
- 39:27Tad Eggleston: Bloody nose…
- 39:29Marisol: Oh, I see exactly what you mean. Yeah. I did not zoom in enough when I first looked at it.
- 39:36Marisol: But where are you looking, sir?
- 39:39Marisol: I cannot tell.
- 39:42Tad Eggleston: Did you say that you're picking that one, or were you just looking at that one?
- 39:46Marisol: No, I'm taking that one.
- 39:48Tad Eggleston: Okay.
- 39:50Maria Pena: Well, mine is the, the one that I've mentioned before with Ray in the couch… on the couch.
- 39:57Maria Pena: getting started.
- 39:59Marisol: scared.
- 40:00Maria Pena: by broke mouth, yelling.
- 40:03Maria Pena: Because I thought that was… I mean, there's so many unusuals here.
- 40:07Tad Eggleston: Oh, yeah.
- 40:09Maria Pena: But…
- 40:10Tad Eggleston: There is nobody in comics that makes more frameable panels that.
- 40:15Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 40:19Tad Eggleston: So you talking the oh-fucking-shit, or the…
- 40:23Maria Pena: Yeah, all fucking shit, yeah.
- 40:25Tad Eggleston: Okay.
- 40:26Marisol: There we go.
- 40:27Maria Pena: I mean, you know, that's not necessarily frameable, but it… it's very.
- 40:32Tad Eggleston: I mean, it is, if you're okay having boobs on your wall.
- 40:39Marisol: That's fair.
- 40:40Maria Pena: But he…
- 40:40Marisol: Some people.
- 40:41Maria Pena: Definitely, you know, like, comic book-wise, I love a…
- 40:47Maria Pena: Tells our own story so beautifully, you know, even the fact that the, the Yale…
- 40:54Tad Eggleston: Yeah.
- 40:55Maria Pena: It's coming and going out of the page, so, you know, out of the panel, it's… the sound.
- 41:01Tad Eggleston: Yeah.
- 41:01Maria Pena: traveling outside of the breaking through, so it just says, that's a fucking loud,
- 41:07Tad Eggleston: that the…
- 41:08Maria Pena: the motion.
- 41:08Tad Eggleston: In lines as she quivers.
- 41:11Tad Eggleston: the…
- 41:12Maria Pena: him, like, woo!
- 41:13Tad Eggleston: Yeah.
- 41:14Maria Pena: up in the air.
- 41:15Tad Eggleston: The, the, the toe sticking out of his sock, the sweats…
- 41:20Maria Pena: like, book…
- 41:21Tad Eggleston: Just like…
- 41:21Maria Pena: sliding…
- 41:22Tad Eggleston: Everything about it.
- 41:25Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 41:27Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 41:28Tad Eggleston: about it is… is crazy good.
- 41:31Maria Pena: Yeah, it's explosive.
- 41:35Tad Eggleston: Alright, is anybody picking a Betto.
- 41:38Maria Pena: Boom.
- 41:38Tad Eggleston: this one…
- 41:39Maria Pena: Oh my gosh.
- 41:40Tad Eggleston: the other one.
- 41:41Maria Pena: I think I should look at, yeah, the Beros on this one, because… Well, I…
- 41:48Tad Eggleston: I know.
- 41:49Tad Eggleston: I'm pretty certain mine's gonna come from Louvre's Comics and Stories.
- 41:54Maria Pena: There's not that many on these. I did like that really high moon.
- 42:01Maria Pena: The beginning of,
- 42:04Marisol: Oh, that is pretty.
- 42:05Maria Pena: They…
- 42:06Tad Eggleston: This one?
- 42:07Maria Pena: Where'd it go? No… yeah, that one. Yeah, I quite like that.
- 42:12Maria Pena: That's it.
- 42:13Maria Pena: You know, that's… That's great, because…
- 42:20Maria Pena: I mean, it's a whole panel, and it's just sky, and it's moon.
- 42:26Maria Pena: But, you know, it's… And it just…
- 42:30Maria Pena: Anchors the page right there, but it's… it's really great.
- 42:35Maria Pena: So it… and I think it says time has passed.
- 42:39Maria Pena: Budget?
- 42:39Tad Eggleston: Yeah.
- 42:40Maria Pena: Or, you know, it's another day or something, I don't know, there's something that… so, yeah, I'll pick that one.
- 42:47Tad Eggleston: Def- definitely has the feel of…
- 42:52Marisol: Another day going?
- 42:55Tad Eggleston: Well, well, it took some years, but it was worth the wait.
- 42:59Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 43:05Maria Pena: So he'd have memory loss, and he finally arrives back home, and he finds at least another one.
- 43:11Marisol: One year's Later…
- 43:13Tad Eggleston: Right.
- 43:13Maria Pena: This man has been, has been, in his town, so it's…
- 43:20Tad Eggleston: There were so many good… Beto Panels, but I have to go with the family portrait.
- 43:27Marisol: The portrait, yeah, that was mine too.
- 43:31Tad Eggleston: Yeah.
- 43:33Tad Eggleston: It's just…
- 43:38Tad Eggleston: Just too good.
- 43:39Maria Pena: Jesse Mirand her own.
- 43:41Tad Eggleston: Yeah.
- 43:45Marisol: Still has that thing.
- 43:49Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 43:54Tad Eggleston: No, I hate it.
- 44:00Tad Eggleston: For next week, or whenever we can manage to…
- 44:04Tad Eggleston: To have the stars align again.
- 44:08Tad Eggleston: Yep.
- 44:10Maria Pena: We'll do them Rockets.
- 44:12Tad Eggleston: It implies at the end of… of… the Luba Comics and Stories… that… With the letter page, anyway.
- 44:24Tad Eggleston: that… There was gonna be… that,
- 44:37Tad Eggleston: New Stories of Old Palomar was a series, but I don't have it digitally.
- 44:42Tad Eggleston: I only have it collected, so I think rather than trying to figure out a way to read that individually, unless I find it somewhere.
- 44:52Tad Eggleston: We're just gonna go to Love & Rockets Single Issues.
- 44:57Maria Pena: Okay.
- 44:57Tad Eggleston: Now, so it'll be… Right.
- 45:00Tad Eggleston: Volume 2, number 13, all on its… all on its lonesome.
- 45:06Maria Pena: And it's good to see you all the cover.
- 45:09Tad Eggleston: Yeah, I was about to say, do we wanna, do we wanna, quickly preview a little bit.
- 45:15Maria Pena: See how he's up? It's an upside-down pig, that's little eggs.
- 45:19Maria Pena: Medicare.
- 45:22Marisol: Let's get a little sneak peek at it.
- 45:23Tad Eggleston: Let's go take a little sneak peek. Love and Rockets number 13…
- 45:32Maria Pena: Oh.
- 45:36Tad Eggleston: Yep, we got the Seahawk right on the cover.
- 45:40Tad Eggleston: Song of the Seahawk is our, our lead-off story.
- 45:45Marisol: I was gonna go.
- 45:51Tad Eggleston: We get some… some Fritz and the Earthians in…
- 45:55Tad Eggleston: Or at least the big poster.
- 45:58Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 45:59Maria Pena: Or I guess he's on his panel already.
- 46:03Tad Eggleston: Oh, it has one of my favorite stories.
- 46:10Tad Eggleston: Cause I like me a baseball story.
- 46:20Tad Eggleston: Day by day.
- 46:21Marisol: It was more hopey.
- 46:25Maria Pena: Great. Well, I'm looking forward to it.
- 46:32Tad Eggleston: Yeah, this is definitely… Where everybody's starting to, like… Grow up.
- 46:42Tad Eggleston: Or at least… at least the Hoppers crew is starting to grow up. A lot of the Palomar crew has had to grow up already.
- 46:50Maria Pena: I had to do it a bit earlier, I think.
- 46:53Tad Eggleston: But this is, this is… This is definitely a period where we're seeing some of the… the transition…
- 47:02Tad Eggleston: Into a little bit more responsibility, a little less… carefree.
- 47:10Tad Eggleston: For the hopperish crew.
- 47:12Tad Eggleston: Song.
- 47:13Tad Eggleston: As always, so much fun to see you guys.
- 47:18Tad Eggleston: I love that we're just moving along. This was…
- 47:24Tad Eggleston: I've actually been keeping track of numbers, because I'm up over 900 episodes, and I don't want to… don't want to, like, not notice it when we hit 1,000.
- 47:33Tad Eggleston: So, I've been keeping track of all of the numbers a little bit more.
- 47:37Maria Pena: Oh, wow.
- 47:38Tad Eggleston: This was… the… I'm gonna say 75th? But I could be wrong, I'll find out really quick.
- 47:54Maria Pena: Maybe quicker than that!
- 47:56Tad Eggleston: I know, I know, I know, I know.
- 47:59Maria Pena: People are like, okay.
- 48:00Tad Eggleston: Signed itself.
- 48:01Maria Pena: You're gonna have.
- 48:02Tad Eggleston: It's signed ground!
- 48:04Maria Pena: salad.
- 48:06Tad Eggleston: Oh, I'm sorry, 82nd.
- 48:12Tad Eggleston: 80… 82 times we've gotten together.
- 48:15Tad Eggleston: at least…
- 48:16Tad Eggleston: 22 times Marisol and I have gotten together. Maria, you jumped on at, like, 19, 18, something like that?
- 48:22Maria Pena: Yeah.
- 48:23Tad Eggleston: So, you've been around for, like, 60-some-odd.
- 48:27Tad Eggleston: So, yeah.
- 48:28Maria Pena: It's always in it, yeah.
- 48:29Tad Eggleston: It is. Oh, yeah. It's been fun, I like it.
- 48:32Tad Eggleston: Yeah, we still have so much more to go.
- 48:34Tad Eggleston: Absolutely.
- 48:37Tad Eggleston: So… Alright, for 22 Panels, this has been Maria, Marisol, and myself, and the Love & Rockets Book Club. We will see you…
