- 0:52Speaker 1: You know, jimmy's talking about the trade secrets that trade secrets that the ACC is trying to no, no, no, not the ACC ESPN.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Espn is trying to protect mm-hmm they came out with their tough guy language today.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Mm-hmm, did they just call us criminals?
- 1:09Speaker 1: yeah, felons felons, that's some bad what did?
- 1:14Speaker 2: they say just that wow.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Whether or not FSU and its lawyers have committed felonies by exposing trade secrets, well, is for another day seems like trade secrets.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Or is it sunshine law here?
- 1:33Speaker 1: I mean?
- 1:33Speaker 1: I mean, if you're in the, you get the whole lawsuits about the contract right.
- 1:39Speaker 1: I mean right so I just get thrown out.
- 1:45Speaker 2: I mean secret dude, why I just?
- 1:49Speaker 1: recipe of what colluding?
- 1:50Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:51Speaker 1: I don't tell the truth, I continue to wonder why?
- 1:54Speaker 2: why is this thing such a huge deal that we signed it?
- 1:57Speaker 2: Let's see what that's what I'm saying why is it such a huge deal that that no one sees it?
- 2:04Speaker 1: apparently it's like the holy grail yeah, and can't go behind, you gotta come here to look at it and you can't touch it.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Don't even think about trying to take that out of here.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Man, the grail cannot pass beyond the great seal, yeah the price of immortality.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Well, it looks like it might not be living anymore.
- 2:27Speaker 2: I mean, gonna come down to that.
- 2:28Speaker 2: They don't want anybody to see it.
- 2:32Speaker 1: I'm just gonna speculate that so they're trying to say other networks would take away.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Right, they would, they would be dealings and how to do what I don't know.
- 2:43Speaker 1: I don't know they would be at a competitive.
- 2:46Speaker 2: They would have like a competitive disadvantage because they're negotiating tactics, maybe they're they're, you know, like their actual contracts and and everything in the language would be exposed.
- 2:58Speaker 2: So that would be something that I get it, man, most companies want to keep.
- 3:02Speaker 2: That's the you know kind of in-house and but at the same time, like I, could have just let them in the damn playoff, yeah, man it seems like this was coming inevitably.
- 3:17Speaker 1: But that did right, not letting them in, just put it.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Well, and all Florida State really wants is a chance for its lawyers to just look at the contract.
- 3:28Speaker 2: We're not asking that it be a Well.
- 3:32Speaker 2: There's something there that they can totally void the whole contract.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Well, you know they could have just avoided all of this and not even had anybody filing for the Sunshine Law, like to just say, hey, all right, if you guys come up here real quietly, we'll let your lawyers have at it.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Just do it here at the library, here at headquarters, Just up take a look at it.
- 3:51Speaker 2: But no, they don't want anybody looking at it, it's the grail.
- 3:54Speaker 1: It's not.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Yeah, it's the grail.
- 3:57Speaker 2: The grail cannot pass beyond the great sea.
- 3:59Speaker 1: That's Greensboro.
- 3:59Speaker 1: That's just the bottom of it, but it's not the price.
- 4:03Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 4:03Speaker 2: But it's not just the grail, but there's some stuff they don't want anybody seeing in there.
- 4:07Speaker 2: It's like the grail.
- 4:08Speaker 2: If the grail had a etching of JC's hang down on the side of it or nobody, yeah, they don't want anybody seeing it.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Man, nobody, they can't.
- 4:22Speaker 1: I think they lay it all out there and writing of how they're.
- 4:25Speaker 2: This is how we're going to keep the ACC number two.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Okay, we're going to give them less money and then we're just going to keep them poor and they're going to like it.
- 4:33Speaker 1: This is going to end up.
- 4:34Speaker 1: They're going to eat that weird flavored cake Some sort of negotiation but these are just the.
- 4:42Speaker 2: It's just the beginning, man.
- 4:43Speaker 2: There's going to be nothing but court and it's going to be brutal, All the other sports, espn as the worldwide leader in sports.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Right, because all the world leaders, all the other countries, the generals and the presidents and the Even Putin got down with it and was like, yeah, espn's the best.
- 5:02Speaker 2: We vote you guys, the worldwide.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Everybody would use it to disadvantage them, right, of course?
- 5:11Speaker 2: I don't know, man Dude, can you imagine if Lifetime got a hold of the way that they do business?
- 5:16Speaker 1: It's like that if theyI mean if theythey wouldn't be hiding anything, if they knew they hadthe contract was in their favor, or that what Florida State was trying to point out wouldn't benefit.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Or if it waslike.
- 5:31Speaker 2: What I think it really is is that it's not ironclad and they don't want anybody seeing that?
- 5:35Speaker 1: And it's going to open up a bigger box there's various ways that teams can get at it.
- 5:38Speaker 1: It can open up even a bigger box if they're fucking.
- 5:43Speaker 2: There's just been some Just take our word for it.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Man, you guys are locked in, don't think about going anywhere.
- 5:48Speaker 2: I was like well, hold on, let me look at that contract.
- 5:50Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, no, I don't feel the good guys.
- 5:51Speaker 2: You guys just not.
- 5:53Speaker 1: I don't think I'm getting the nutrition.
- 5:54Speaker 1: What's in this, what's in this milkshake, man?
- 5:58Speaker 1: It's like what's in this protein shake?
- 6:00Speaker 1: Or what's in this, what you putting in this man?
- 6:02Speaker 1: And they're like, nah, man, that's the secret recipe.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Same thing everybody else is getting.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Secret recipe Secret recipe.
- 6:09Speaker 2: And how come the SEC is 225 and shredded wherever here at a Pudgy 190?
- 6:17Speaker 2: .
- 6:17Speaker 2: What's up, man?
- 6:19Speaker 1: Well as you.
- 6:20Speaker 1: When you come down to it, the game's going to be ruled by that, until something they're trying to come out with new rules.
- 6:29Speaker 1: No cookie cakes, though.
- 6:31Speaker 1: At least we got that.
- 6:32Speaker 2: No more decorating the recruits hotel rooms.
- 6:35Speaker 1: We can't do cookie cakes.
- 6:36Speaker 1: We can't decorate the hotel rooms.
- 6:38Speaker 1: That's good.
- 6:39Speaker 1: That was like a mutual agreement that coached.
- 6:42Speaker 2: I wouldn't be surprised if the programs were pushing for it.
- 6:45Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 6:46Speaker 2: You just put a rule on that because this sucks Right.
- 6:49Speaker 2: $28,000 on cookie cakes, man Jesus.
- 6:53Speaker 1: But they wrote that.
- 6:54Speaker 1: They got that in and that's what people can agree on.
- 6:58Speaker 1: That's about it.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Right, because they're not going to get sued in Supreme Court for that.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Nobody's taking that to the highest court in America.
- 7:06Speaker 2: That's what the NCAA is going to do from now on.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Little tiki-tack stuff they say well, we can make a rule like that, Everybody will agree to it.
- 7:14Speaker 2: Everybody has to agree to it.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Football's going to be gone from the NCAA, they'll be out of their control.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Because they.
- 7:22Speaker 1: I mean, what are we doing here?
- 7:27Speaker 2: I eventually see a committee being appointed to run the entire sport of college football.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Yeah, we're already working on that between the two big conferences, right and God forbid, if you want.
- 7:39Speaker 2: And what'll replace.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Conference and conference bias will be like who's on the committee and where do they have ties to?
- 7:45Speaker 2: And that'll be the new thing.
- 7:47Speaker 2: It's not going to happen for maybe another decade, but it's going there.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Man, the NCAA has no control already over football.
- 7:55Speaker 1: It's that they're coming out with the game again.
- 7:58Speaker 2: That's what's up.
- 7:59Speaker 2: It's the only thing they're good for man.
- 8:02Speaker 2: The branding.
- 8:05Speaker 1: They're having all the teams $100 bucks.
- 8:07Speaker 1: It's worth it and you get a free copy of the game.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Yeah, like, all right, cool man, they better get my hairstyle right, though.
- 8:15Speaker 1: That's all I'm saying I'm excited about that.
- 8:18Speaker 1: I am too man.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Cannot wait to simulate the season and just recruit, oh man.
- 8:24Speaker 2: I hope they have like realistic recruiting.
- 8:29Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Yeah, what's that going to be like?
- 8:33Speaker 2: Use all your money.
- 8:34Speaker 2: You don't want to play.
- 8:34Speaker 2: You got to come up.
- 8:35Speaker 1: You got to come up with businesses.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Now, yeah, to like have a legitimate holding company.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Oh, that's an NCAA violation.
- 8:42Speaker 1: The coach did not stay long enough.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Oh man, and like a flash comes up, the IRS comes after you looking for where to go that will be interesting.
- 8:51Speaker 2: This 500 million that you got in an anonymous donation.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Where did that come from Different teams?
- 9:00Speaker 1: I think they'll just have like some option for that, where you can put stuff on there?
- 9:06Speaker 1: Yeah, and I'm eligible to sign for.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Like they'll have some fake collective.
- 9:13Speaker 2: I'm sure, right, they'll have some option.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Oops, you signed with the wrong collective.
- 9:16Speaker 2: No, I don't even know you get nothing.
- 9:18Speaker 1: They won't even have that.
- 9:19Speaker 1: It will be just like a chart or a rating thing.
- 9:25Speaker 2: This is how much money you're worth.
- 9:28Speaker 1: I don't know man, it's cool, it's coming back, man it.
- 9:33Speaker 2: It won't be as good as the days where you know you could just put Darren's rolls and running back and Right quarterback.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Yeah, run around throw a yard pass for a touchdown.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Yeah, those were the days I Mean that I have.
- 9:48Speaker 1: I don't know what the plan is with this case.
- 9:51Speaker 1: You know it's just gonna draw out, or you know what are they trying to prove here?
- 9:57Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know, sunshine law.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Well, I mean that's, that's the first, the first argument here is like this is yeah, valuable versus what?
- 10:08Speaker 2: They want.
- 10:08Speaker 2: They're arguing that.
- 10:10Speaker 1: They don't want anyone to know.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Contract.
- 10:13Speaker 2: Yeah, she should.
- 10:13Speaker 2: It should fall under the the precedent that there are trade secrets and it should be protected, even under the sunshine law.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Hmm, and I guess it's.
- 10:23Speaker 2: I don't know, man I don't know who it who it falls on to prove what?
- 10:27Speaker 2: In that regard, like dude, does Florida State side have to prove that, no, there are no trade trade secrets, or I don't know?
- 10:37Speaker 2: All I know is that that's just one thing and it's gonna already it's.
- 10:41Speaker 2: You know, you're talking about months of them Drawing this out and then they'll be just one step closer to Ah.
- 10:47Speaker 2: Basically, lawyers are gonna be getting paid for the next two or three years unless they can come to some kind of settlement.
- 10:56Speaker 1: What do you think about this?
- 10:57Speaker 1: I mean like ESPN putting their thing down here.
- 11:00Speaker 1: So there's a report the other day that Florida State and and Clemson are going to the SEC after this season.
- 11:07Speaker 2: They'll announce it, but so like man any, any, any kind of stuff like that on the internet is just it's, it's nothing.
- 11:16Speaker 1: Right.
- 11:16Speaker 1: I mean, you could be right if I had to be right could be wrong, but you're you I.
- 11:20Speaker 1: If I would want to be in the SEC only because the ESPN owns the SEC and Right, I mean I would.
- 11:30Speaker 2: I would find it hard to believe that.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Yeah, they're just called you right like felons.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Right, I mean I and they know that's just lawyer talk.
- 11:41Speaker 1: But everything's out on the table now.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Yeah, it would.
- 11:46Speaker 2: It would seem that it would be kind of difficult for For Florida State to but that's the problem.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Anyway, ESPN is coming.
- 11:53Speaker 1: They just they're gonna come up with this huge deal billions of dollars to own the sport again and and have exclusive access to the playoff Right, and that just seems a little bit like.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Can you imagine if that was the NFL like?
- 12:08Speaker 1: And it was like CBS every year, yeah, and you get Tony Romo every year right, like you're gonna get Kirk Herbst Street every time.
- 12:18Speaker 2: And that you know the.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Nfl is run and that way the NFL does a good job because they have a commissioner and all the franchises have their own.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Right, it's a popular sport, but so college football is getting there and you have a lot of teams.
- 12:33Speaker 1: They need a commissioner.
- 12:34Speaker 1: At least To run like they can't have.
- 12:38Speaker 2: You need a large governing body like the NCAA, but that's strictly dedicated to college football and nothing else.
- 12:47Speaker 1: The CES would be the SEC or something, and they have, and then there's no cap in.
- 12:52Speaker 1: Like another division is like wait a second, I want to go to you know, it's just it's nuts it.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Yeah, man, it's just it's going to be football is doing it because of the all these, the money that all these kids are making.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean the money that it generates is just like there really is no choice but for it to break away the money that that schools are using.
- 13:22Speaker 1: the gap between the schools that have the money.
- 13:26Speaker 1: I mean, unless you just came out and just got rid of your whole like idea mirage that this is what it is, you can professionalize it and pay it the students.
- 13:37Speaker 1: If they're football players, can you just write a provision in that and just be like, hey, they're.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean if you, if you start, well, I mean, if you start, You're just salary cap free them like employees.
- 13:47Speaker 2: That's what they they're trying to avoid.
- 13:49Speaker 1: There's got to be it's happened for long enough where, if you can put people in the room that are objective and they look at like, what are these players offering?
- 13:58Speaker 1: Cause, I know, if you're a coach, right, you don't want to have to have these cookie cakes out here and have to put these damn balloons up all the time.
- 14:06Speaker 1: You know like I want to just and, and, but obviously, hey, the money's out there, right, but we, we obviously don't want to have where it's just crazy one sided.
- 14:17Speaker 1: So what, what's the end game here?
- 14:18Speaker 1: So let's put a cap on it or let's put it in a mount where everyone can get it, but you can use it differently, but there's a cap here, only certain amount.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Right the problem with doing that is that that the schools that?
- 14:32Speaker 2: The schools that have more than the cap run a bitch about the cap Exactly, and what you're seeing now is is you know?
- 14:40Speaker 2: Take the ACC, for example, the, the, the few schools in the ACZ that can actually generate.
- 14:46Speaker 2: There's more owners in the.
- 14:47Speaker 1: NFL with them.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, just cause you have more money.
- 14:50Speaker 1: I mean, we're like you're playing a sport here, not like a pocket book challenge of who's been endowed longer.
- 14:56Speaker 1: That's not the competition here, right, and if there's one to use that as an advantage, that's not going to be the sporting one.
- 15:03Speaker 1: It's going to move towards more of a professionalization.
- 15:06Speaker 2: Right.
- 15:07Speaker 1: But you need to have rules set up in beginning, and you're right.
- 15:10Speaker 1: You're right, though.
- 15:11Speaker 1: The people in charge are the ones they're not going to want to give up the power From those schools.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 15:17Speaker 2: So, like nobody is, is is running things in college football.
- 15:20Speaker 2: That is a Western Michigan grad.
- 15:23Speaker 1: When you have a school like Florida State, who's not small at all, like Sue, and you can see it.
- 15:29Speaker 1: And if it wasn't them, it would have been another one.
- 15:32Speaker 2: It would have been Clemson, it would have been someone.
- 15:34Speaker 2: The ACC has a few schools that that can stand with the team.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Being left out.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Being the teams in the big 10.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Made it to.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Florida State, but there's a lot of quote unquote parasitic schools when it comes to the money that's generated by football, right, schools that don't pull their own weight but still get an equal cut, and that's what that's really.
- 15:55Speaker 2: Florida State's biggest objection the last few years is, like you know, if we're not going to do that in the ACC and really give Florida State the money that they deserve, then why would we stand?
- 16:06Speaker 1: We want to be in the AFC or the NFC?
- 16:08Speaker 1: Then Right, that's what.
- 16:09Speaker 1: That's what it looks like you have with the big 10 in the ACC.
- 16:12Speaker 2: That's what's going to ultimately.
- 16:13Speaker 2: You don't want to be left out.
- 16:14Speaker 2: Yeah, they're going to ultimately push schools that aren't going to spend that money.
- 16:17Speaker 2: It's going to push them out.
- 16:19Speaker 1: That's that.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Well, there you go right there.
- 16:21Speaker 1: They should have that, then.
- 16:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:23Speaker 1: And then that's another thing, like some of the conferences might need to trim some fat.
- 16:28Speaker 2: Oh, that big time.
- 16:29Speaker 1: You know what I mean and let's just reevaluate this and have professional like how much value to?
- 16:36Speaker 2: and you know the ACC did a really poor job of you know, looking towards the future.
- 16:42Speaker 2: When they expanded they took a lot of teams that are pretty much have been dead weight in football.
- 16:50Speaker 2: Man, you know, rating the big East, it seemed like a good idea at the time but those schools have just done horribly.
- 16:57Speaker 2: And now, yeah, I mean you saw it first time when Miami came it's even crossed over in the basketball.
- 17:02Speaker 1: Yeah, it was when they first entered.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, they're going to meet rematch every year.
- 17:07Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 17:08Speaker 2: I mean Virginia Tech was was okay when they first hopped in, but really that that's been.
- 17:15Speaker 2: You know what BC had Matt Ryan for a minute.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:19Speaker 2: Till till Gino ended that that, that, that's it.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Well, it's going to be.
- 17:24Speaker 1: It's in the off season, you know and these filings come out.
- 17:30Speaker 2: It's a different type of sport, it's just going to be slam piece after slam piece from the SPN, now Florida State.
- 17:39Speaker 2: The big bad boogie man's a college football.
- 17:43Speaker 1: Well, it was bound to be someone, you know, it was bound to be someone from.
- 17:49Speaker 2: Well, it's going to be the big 12 or somebody, it's going to be somebody from the ACC.
- 17:53Speaker 2: The conference is getting screwed over the most.
- 17:56Speaker 1: They just went and gutted the pack 12 and in in Florida States.
- 18:00Speaker 1: So if you gut the ACC, we're going to be.
- 18:03Speaker 2: Dude, if you take the ACC champion that just went on to the field and keep them out of the playoff, look out, it could have been, it could do if they would have done the same thing to Clemson.
- 18:14Speaker 2: Clemson, we'd be doing what?
- 18:15Speaker 1: Florida State is doing right now.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Yeah, you're right.
- 18:18Speaker 2: It like there's really no other way to handle that.
- 18:21Speaker 1: Yeah an ACC champion gets left out.
- 18:23Speaker 1: This year they're suing yeah, that's the parent, that's the and it happened to be Florida State.
- 18:28Speaker 2: That's the teeny company that you have the contract with telling you that-.
- 18:32Speaker 1: If North Carolina we don't really give a shit about you.
- 18:34Speaker 1: Right, we, we, you're number two to us Quarterback though, yeah, Quarterback.
- 18:40Speaker 2: It's the quarterback, Nah, I mean sure Could have been some else man, Then why-?
- 18:46Speaker 1: The quarterback.
- 18:47Speaker 1: I just don't think they're impressive enough.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Yeah, the argument was there before that it could have been anything that's.
- 18:52Speaker 1: That's the one thing that I didn't appreciate, and the whole time.
- 18:56Speaker 1: If they never had said that it would, it would have been a bit better argument.
- 19:01Speaker 1: But the fact that there's footage of them arguing that before Jordan Travis even was hurt nullifies everything they're saying.
- 19:11Speaker 1: It's just going back.
- 19:12Speaker 1: You know, it's just going back.
- 19:13Speaker 1: They're trying to cover the tracks.
- 19:16Speaker 2: Right.
- 19:16Speaker 1: They're trying to make up some excuse to define best and honestly they're not wrong because they wrote the whole thing was bogus.
- 19:25Speaker 1: Now it's going to be five teams, the top five conference championships in the conference champions in the rankings.
- 19:33Speaker 1: So it doesn't necessarily mean it, it would be.
- 19:36Speaker 1: Well, it'd be four now but yeah, no if another conference has a champion it's ranked higher.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Yeah, that's never going to happen.
- 19:45Speaker 2: They're going to.
- 19:47Speaker 1: you know that's all based on, but if it, does, they'll be able to do it and justify it.
- 19:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:52Speaker 1: Cause it's like hey, we don't see it at your best.
- 19:53Speaker 1: These so-called power conferences not one because we decided it's not, that's right they could literally do that again.
- 20:00Speaker 1: I mean it's not.
- 20:02Speaker 2: It needs to be.
- 20:03Speaker 2: Ah, they just got told it.
- 20:05Speaker 2: You're not one of the power conferences, there's really only two.
- 20:08Speaker 2: Right, it's the big 10 in the SEC and since we got a contract with the SEC like, they come first guys.
- 20:16Speaker 2: So, and that may be something else that ESPN doesn't want people taking a gander at Like wow, why is this contract so much different than the one with the SEC, right, why are they.
- 20:27Speaker 2: Why is there like guaranteed language in the SECs?
- 20:31Speaker 2: And then you know yes, they don't want.
- 20:36Speaker 1: they got one over.
- 20:37Speaker 1: They got one over, yeah, and Florida State's trying to get out of it because they got hosed out and they're giving them now like no hope.
- 20:47Speaker 1: When you do that, you're like what are you supposed to do?
- 20:50Speaker 1: What are you supposed to do Like it's our?
- 20:53Speaker 2: it's the conference and then the network that the conference has a contract with, both telling you like no.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Well, you're finding out that it wasn't a fair contract.
- 21:04Speaker 1: Nothing about it's fair, so, and they don't want to show the trade secrets that made it beneficial that could have been at the result of illegal activities in business.
- 21:16Speaker 1: Yeah, so I think there's probably just it there's going to be negotiated, it's going to be settled.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Layed out.
- 21:23Speaker 1: They're trying to talk a bunch of trash right now to get the fact that they're going to keep battling this.
- 21:29Speaker 1: You don't want to have to keep battling this and then, until it's finally someone's going to up top, just cut a deal.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Just cut a deal, Just let them walk for whatever you know.
- 21:40Speaker 2: A couple hundred mil and you guys are gone.
- 21:42Speaker 2: Fine, get out of here, but I don't see.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Then the scary part happens.
- 21:48Speaker 2: You know this part right here.
- 21:49Speaker 2: I mean, there's no way that Florida State's going to stay in the ACC.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Well that if once FSU leaves.
- 21:55Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just a matter of how much money, everybody else would do the same thing.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Yeah, and so I think once you know schools realize that like damn, they're going to go, no matter what.
- 22:06Speaker 2: Like what's the point?
- 22:09Speaker 2: What's the point in Clemson State, Florida State's, out of the ACC?
- 22:13Speaker 2: What's the point Miami Like if?
- 22:15Speaker 1: you're Miami.
- 22:15Speaker 1: What's the point of staying if you have aspirations to be good in football?
- 22:18Speaker 2: Miami, who are you going to play in state?
- 22:19Speaker 2: You going to play Florida.
- 22:20Speaker 2: They're not going to play you every year.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Right.
- 22:23Speaker 2: Play you every what 10 years.
- 22:25Speaker 1: That's the thing, florida.
- 22:27Speaker 2: State leaves the ACC, they're not going to play Miami if they're not in Miami's conference.
- 22:32Speaker 1: Right.
- 22:32Speaker 2: That's not going to happen.
- 22:33Speaker 2: That's not the way that football is moving In state rivalry, stuff like that.
- 22:37Speaker 1: Once, this was all inevitable Once that, once that Supreme Court decision came through Once.
- 22:43Speaker 1: All because of this game.
- 22:44Speaker 1: You know, all because of this game.
- 22:46Speaker 1: When he walked, ed O'Bannon was upset that he saw someone playing in the game.
- 22:50Speaker 1: You know.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Yeah, but I mean pretty much.
- 22:53Speaker 2: It's supposed to be me.
- 22:54Speaker 2: I didn't get any money on that.
- 22:55Speaker 1: And now the game's back.
- 22:56Speaker 1: All that, though, but it but it changed the sport.
- 23:00Speaker 1: At the results of that.
- 23:02Speaker 1: Yeah, so the game was gone, but because I didn't know what to do with how to do it.
- 23:08Speaker 2: So now everyone's doing it now and what changed the sport is ESPN's deal with the SEC.
- 23:14Speaker 2: Yeah that that you know, notre Dame and NBC was one thing right, but ESPN cutting to deal with a conference to be exclusive to all of their sports and it's just like dude, okay.
- 23:34Speaker 2: So I guess the rest of us that you know, we're depending on ESPN to broadcast all of their.
- 23:41Speaker 2: I guess we can just get screwed then that's secret.
- 23:46Speaker 2: That's what changed.
- 23:47Speaker 1: That's the change.
- 23:48Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the secret, that's the secret.
- 23:50Speaker 2: We won't be the worldwide leader in sports, and we're gonna do that by taking what we consider the Most appealing conference.
- 23:58Speaker 1: We can't handle the truth.
- 23:59Speaker 1: We want the truth right.
- 24:01Speaker 2: Aka, where it is the most.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Where do people watch TV the most and watch sports the most?
- 24:06Speaker 2: The southeast region.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Alright, we're going after that.
- 24:08Speaker 2: It's a company in Connecticut, mm-hmm, you know what.
- 24:11Speaker 2: What other ties would they have to the southeast other than the news?
- 24:16Speaker 1: TV you saw it coming.
- 24:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I Mean, I remembered Florida State was the last.
- 24:22Speaker 1: I mean national championship team was the BC at last year of it.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Yeah, well, this goes back.
- 24:27Speaker 2: I mean this, it goes.
- 24:28Speaker 1: What would have happened to that?
- 24:29Speaker 1: They probably still would have been ranked, but you know.
- 24:32Speaker 2: Florida States always been a threat to the SEC, as as soon as they established himself as anything in football.
- 24:39Speaker 2: Right, and you know that the the old wives tale is that Florida all we had never.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Florida would never let it.
- 24:44Speaker 2: They'll block it.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Let me tell you something Florida has pull of dick in the SEC.
- 24:49Speaker 2: They don't call any shots Like they don't and they didn't back then.
- 24:55Speaker 2: Yeah, it's the other schools right on top of us that you know.
- 24:59Speaker 2: Yeah, we pose a very serious threat to, and it's how it's always been.
- 25:05Speaker 2: So now they got all the money.
- 25:08Speaker 1: Well, it's big time.
- 25:08Speaker 1: Now it's gonna come down to TV money.
- 25:10Speaker 1: Now it's gonna be like, because you have a product that you can't deny, people want to watch Florida State.
- 25:18Speaker 1: Right the highly good bad.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Yeah, so it's going to be a A valuable commodity in the television market, and Florida Satan knows that.
- 25:30Speaker 1: Yeah, and pretty much.
- 25:31Speaker 1: And when you leave them out of the playoffs, so what the hell that now they're going for world.
- 25:35Speaker 1: Well, we're taking that, we're doing, we're out now right, it's the biggest ticket and they if you got the biggest shafts.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Yeah, you got to start it.
- 25:44Speaker 1: Well, it was inevitable.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Yeah, shake it up.
- 25:45Speaker 2: You got a threat to go to the competitor, which is Fox big 10?
- 25:50Speaker 2: .
- 25:50Speaker 2: We had to go.
- 25:51Speaker 2: What'll be interesting is if we, you know, when that time comes, will the SEC and ESPN just be like yo, go ahead, and then will Fox indeed come and be like hey, or will they get cold feet?
- 26:05Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, we didn't really you thought we were serious, we don't really want you guys.
- 26:11Speaker 2: That's the thing you have you don't need, you don't put your chili on your spaghetti.
- 26:18Speaker 2: They're just so much going on, and ice fish down there in the pan handle so I mean, look at the NFL.
- 26:25Speaker 1: Can you imagine if they didn't have what they like, the collected agreement.
- 26:29Speaker 1: But it also brings, it also makes it as popular as it is?
- 26:33Speaker 1: There there's hope, right, right, the draft.
- 26:36Speaker 1: You have hope to the team and I think that's what you're getting now with this big-time college football in a bad way.
- 26:42Speaker 1: All this, you know the Tradition, or you know the pageantry and all that.
- 26:48Speaker 2: They're still gonna be banned.
- 26:50Speaker 2: Very little parody in college, you're still gonna be bands.
- 26:52Speaker 1: It's just out on the table, it's not.
- 26:54Speaker 1: It's been going on for years in Payton, in bags people been paying for players, right.
- 27:00Speaker 1: So now you know it's out on the table Well yeah and the money that you can get from TV deals, which is the most money can be used to get players.
- 27:11Speaker 1: That is the bottom line.
- 27:13Speaker 2: That's going on right that I'm gonna tell you where you, where it really counts, is in Upgrading your entire athletic department.
- 27:20Speaker 1: Well, yeah, and then in, but you know recruiting right now.

- 27:35Speaker 1: Yeah, you're right compared.
- 27:36Speaker 2: How's?
- 27:37Speaker 2: There is a pile of bricks and sticks compared to what?
- 27:40Speaker 2: What's going on in the SEC right now?
- 27:42Speaker 2: I?
- 27:43Speaker 2: Mean I'm talking about building something new.
- 27:45Speaker 1: You'll see it in those sports First.
