- 3:48and enhanced astronomical observations.
- 3:51The real-world demonstration marks a significant step toward practical quantum networking,
- 3:57with plans to improve and expand the network in the coming years.
- 4:06Now on to sports.
- 4:09Controversial umpire Angel Hernandez is retiring immediately, after
- 4:14a career marked by criticism for inconsistent calls and quick ejections.
- 4:20Hernandez, who debuted in 1991, hasn't officiated since May 9, as he and MLB negotiated his
- 4:28exit.
- 4:30Despite being a lightning rod for complaints from players and not being promoted to crew
- 4:34chief, Hernandez stated his departure was voluntary and aimed at spending more time
- 4:39with family.
- 4:41His lawyer emphasized he wasn't forced out.
- 4:45Hernandez's career has been a source of debate, culminating in his decision to step

- 9:05This initiative aims to enhance vehicle design and integrate motors, batteries, and other
- 9:11electric drive units.
- 9:13Additionally, the engines will support alternative fuels like e-fuels and biofuels, aiding in
- 9:19decarbonizing internal combustion engines.
- 9:23This move aligns with stricter emission standards such as the EU's Euro 7, set to take effect
- 9:29in 2030.
- 9:31Toyota's multi-pathway approach includes hybrids, hydrogen fuel cell, and traditional

- 10:07The box office is still feeling the effects of last year's Hollywood strikes and production
- 10:12delays.
- 10:15Outcoming releases like Deadpool and Wolverine, and Inside Out 2, are expected to help the
- 10:20summer box office recover, but overall 2024 earnings are projected to be 10% lower than
- 10:26last year.
- 10:28Well, alrighty folks, it's time for the quote of the day.
- 10:34And today, our quote comes from the American philosopher and Bostonian, Ralph Waldo Emerson.
- 10:41He said,
- 10:42For each thorn, there's a rosebud.
- 10:46For each twilight, a dawn.
- 10:50For each trial, the strength to carry on.
- 10:54For each storm cloud, a rainbow.
- 10:57For each shadow, the sun.
- 11:01For each parting, sweet memories when sorrow is done.
- 11:07And that's a wrap for this morning.
