- 0:27Hey, everybody. Good morning from the chicken
- 0:29coop. So today we're talking about
- 0:32unique assets and what are your unique assets?
- 0:35This is an interesting question to ask yourself because
- 0:39everybody's can put together a resume and this is coming up
- 0:42because I was helping a client work on a resume and I asked the
- 0:47question, OK, this resume says everything on on paper that
- 0:51everyone wants to see, but it doesn't give a list of your
- 0:53unique assets that you think would make you stand out in the
- 0:56role. What are they?
- 0:58And this person paused and said, well, I mean, I don't want to
- 1:02come across like I'm trying to be boastful or I don't want to
- 1:06come across. I'm like, well, you're going for
- 1:07an interview. You have to be boastful.
- 1:09I mean that's just hands down the thing to do.
- 1:11You go in with confidence and you, you take yourself in there
- 1:15to look your best. So if you make it even a
- 1:18separate sheet and you list your unique assets, that would be
- 1:22something that would be helpful for people who are trying to
- 1:26make decisions about whether or not you fit in.
- 1:28Because we want to see what is unique about you, what makes you
- 1:31stand out from the crowd. And I, I ended up using the
- 1:34chickens as such a a a great little way to get my point
- 1:37across because they're all chickens, right?
- 1:39They're all chickens, they all lay eggs, but there are some
- 1:42that have very, very unique assets.
- 1:45So for instance, any of the Americanas we have are very,
- 1:48very smart. They are much more crafty.
- 1:52They rarely get hurt by a hawk or a coyote.
- 1:57They are very crafty and getting out of the way.
- 2:00They they're great Flyers. They have a they'll let you get
- 2:05close to them, but not close enough to touch them.
- 2:07They're super, super aware. Even while I'm talking to you,
- 2:11if you can hear the crows in the background, all the Americanas
- 2:13are stopped and they're looking to see what the crows are
- 2:16screaming about. All the other chickens are still
- 2:18going about their business, not paying attention to the fact
- 2:21that that might be an indicator that there is a big hawk flying
- 2:25around. So it's it's just one of their
- 2:28traits. Very smart, very aware.
- 2:31Now we've got, you know, our, our coach insurance and our
- 2:34coach insurance are just like big marshmallows.
- 2:36They're big loves. They'll let you pick them up.
- 2:38They let you sit with them. They are just big, fluffy, lovey
- 2:42chickens and very unaware. And for that we've lost a few of
- 2:46them because they are very unaware.
- 2:49And each one of them, I could keep going through all the
- 2:51different breeds that we have. But they are just.
- 2:55They each have their own little thing.
- 2:56And just like us human beings, so do we And we all have our
- 3:01unique little talents. Some some of these chickens are
- 3:03great free Rangers. They can go out and find stuff
- 3:06all day long. That would be the Americanas.
- 3:08And there are others who just struggle with it.
- 3:12They don't do. That's why we obviously give
- 3:14them great sources for food as well, because they don't go out
- 3:18and find it themselves. But the point is, thinking of
- 3:21yourself that way. What are your great assets and
- 3:25not making it a list of common ones?
- 3:27Now, you might not be doing a resume right now.
- 3:29You might not be in the place where this is even something
- 3:32that you're thinking is important.
- 3:33But why is it important to someone in their everyday life?
- 3:37Because not everybody builds you up all the time.
- 3:40Not everybody affords you the opportunities to shine and show
- 3:43your unique assets. So it's your job to go ahead and
- 3:47do that. Show your unique assets, put
- 3:50yourself in a position where you can talk about them, list them,
- 3:54and make sure that you have it ready.
- 3:57So when someone says, hey, why should I use you over this
- 4:00person? Or what makes you the choice
- 4:02that would make my company? Pick your company.
- 4:06Having that list understanding it doesn't matter if you are
- 4:11doing the simplest thing. If you're an artist and you're
- 4:13about to paint a wall, you're going in to for Commission to
- 4:17paint this beautiful mural on a wall and someone says, well, why
- 4:19should I choose you over this person?
- 4:21We're having a hard time picking because that's what happens.
- 4:24Humans can't always choose quickly.
- 4:27You have to be willing to pitch yourself.
- 4:29You have to be willing to know these things.
- 4:31And at the same time, your unique assets make you feel
- 4:35good. I know my unique assets and I
- 4:38know when I think about them, they make me feel good in
- 4:42general. It makes me feel like, wow,
- 4:44okay, I I do have that because I like not being like everybody
- 4:48else. I like that I shoot a podcast
- 4:50from a chicken coop. I like that.
- 4:52I do it on my phone and it's uncomplicated.
- 4:54I I keep it as simple as I possibly can, but that's a
- 4:58unique asset of mine. Don't over complicate things.
- 5:01Keep it simple because it makes it easier.
- 5:04It makes it feel you feel better, it makes you feel
- 5:06productive because it doesn't take forever and I don't doesn't
- 5:09have to be all technical and I can't stand over over
- 5:12complicating things. So that's a unique asset of
- 5:16mine, because a lot of people do not like to look and see how to
- 5:19boil it all down to the the smallest infinitesimal way to do
- 5:23something. So think about this, put a list
- 5:27together, be ready for the question and focus on it 'cause
- 5:30you'll feel so much better when you do.
- 5:32All right, my friends, I hope you have a blessed day and I'll
- 5:34see you tomorrow. Bye.
