- 0:00Speaker 1: Where would you say is the best city? Now, this
- 0:06could be two different questions. The best city to host
- 0:09a super Bowl? The best venue to host a super Bowl?
- 0:13Speaker 2: Ooh, well, have you not been to a super Bowl?
- 0:17Maybe the worst person to ask this question. Venue, I mean,
- 0:20so far seems really nice. Allegiance seems really nice. In
- 0:24terms of the city, I've heard Glendale a lot of
- 0:28good things from people go to Glendale. As you know,
- 0:29it's usually the same week as the waste management open
- 0:32in Phoenix and they go from that, and the weather
- 0:35is usually pretty warm. I would say somewhere either in
- 0:38California or in Miami.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Party you're leaving that a big one. It's where it
- 0:43is this year?
- 0:44Speaker 2: Atlanta? Where's it that this year?
- 0:46Speaker 1: I think it's in New Orleans this year, isn't it? Yeah?
- 0:48It's in New Orleans. Great city, But the venue not
- 0:52so much. I mean, the Superdome has been through you know,
- 0:54some refersion, It survived Katrina and all that other kind
- 0:57of stuff. But Mercedes Benz Stadium, which is the home
- 1:01the Atlanta Falcons, which has hosted a super Bowl, which
- 1:06will host the SEC Championship, which will host a Peach Bowl,
- 1:10and we'll host a national championship in college football. In fact,
- 1:13there are people that say, if things fall the right
- 1:15way for the Texas Longhorns, they could wind up playing
- 1:20at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta three times in a month.
- 1:23It could happen SEC Championship, then they could wind up
- 1:29playing in It'd probably be really about six weeks, then
- 1:32in the Peach Bowl in the quarterfinal, and then in
- 1:35the National Championship. That's if everything falls right and they
- 1:38continue to play well and so on and so forth.
- 1:40The reason why I bring this up, the Super Bowl
- 1:42is going to return to Atlanta in twenty twenty eight.
- 1:45You heard Jerry Jones earlier today in the two o'clock
- 1:49hour talk about if you want to stand in airwalk
- 1:51in air with these other thirty two. He was talking
- 1:53about they're at the NFL owners meetings, the fall meetings
- 1:57that are going on in Atlanta, And can you imagine
- 2:01Jerry having to walk into those meetings some of those
- 2:04owners that are friends of his and could give him
- 2:06some grief one.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Oh, for sure.
- 2:07Speaker 1: And you guys suck, he stink. Jerry? What's going well?
- 2:11It is? And you mentioned you don't fly on the
- 2:14wall and some of that anyway, while in Atlanta, they
- 2:18did vote to return the Super Bowl to Atlanta in
- 2:22twenty twenty eight. That's where the Patriots beat the Rams
- 2:27in twenty nineteenth. Four time championship game has been playing
- 2:30Atlanta vers twice at the Old Georgia Dome as well.
- 2:33First two Super Bowls held in Atlanta were in nineteen
- 2:35ninety four and then in two thousand. New Orleans does
- 2:40host the game following this season, then it goes to
- 2:44California for two years Santa Clara and in twenty twenty six,
- 2:49and back to Los Angeles in twenty twenty seven. So
- 2:52it'll be there on all of that, So anyway, that'll
- 2:55be the case there, Roger Goodell said. Renowned for its
- 2:59hospitality and rich sports and entertainment culture, Atlanta's a world
- 3:03class destination and natural fit for Super Bowl sixty two
- 3:09will be Super Bowl sixty two. What's the first Super
- 3:12Bowl you remember watching?
- 3:15Speaker 2: Panthers Patriots?
- 3:16Speaker 1: Okay, lord, what was that? Super Bowl thirty eight? Oh four? Right? Yeah,
- 3:23I think it was thirty eight. I think it was.
- 3:26I think it was Super Bowl thirty eight. Panthers Patriots
- 3:28in Houston. That way for a Super Bowl wasn't that?
- 3:35Was that the Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction? Or was that
- 3:38the Eagles Patriots?
- 3:40Speaker 2: That I do not know, Okay, I don't think my mom,
- 3:43let me watch the halftime show.
- 3:44Speaker 1: That one the thing I remember we had it on
- 3:47and Haley and Andy were pretty young at the time,
- 3:50they were preteen. And when that happened with Janet Jackson
- 3:57and justin Timberlake, where can that Hayley comes walking down
- 4:01the bedroominsters, Mom, Janet Jackson's boob fell out, like great,
- 4:08that's that's awful, And so yeah, that was so that
- 4:12And again what you just mentioned just makes me feel old.
- 4:16The first Super Bowl I really truly remember was Super
- 4:19Bowl three Jets Colts, and I know because my brothers
- 4:23told me about the Packers winning the first two, but
- 4:25it didn't really I was six and seven years old
- 4:27at the time, so I didn't really pay much attention.
- 4:29It was eight years old. I remember my dad telling
- 4:32me what a great quarterback Joe Namath was, and he
- 4:34made this friendly bet with my uncle, who had lived
- 4:37in Baltimore was a big Colts fan, and my dad
- 4:40took the Jets because he said, I think Joe Namath
- 4:42is going to show the world we can do. So
- 4:45my dad wasn't always one of the best at doing that,
- 4:49but he could kind of he could kind of figure
- 4:51it out from by the time, and he really did
- 4:53like Joe Namath anyway. So it'll it'll do with that now.
- 4:59One other note, it did happen that in the aftermath
- 5:03of the Jets losing to the Bills last night, they
- 5:09made a big trade today to get DeVante Adams from
- 5:12the Raiders. So the Raiders get a conditional third round
- 5:16pick in the draft. It could improve to a second
- 5:19round selection if Adams his first or second team All
- 5:23Pro this season or is on the Jets active roster
- 5:27for the AFC Championship or Super Bowl. DeVante Adams took
- 5:32a red eye flight to New Jersey very early this morning.
- 5:34The deal was basically in place. He took a physical
- 5:37to finalize the trade. So there's another target for Aaron
- 5:42Rodgers to.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Try to find another one of his buddies, you know
- 5:46people he always talks about that. I don't really have
- 5:49that much of an influence in the front office, the
- 5:52entire Jets organization, coaching staff, players, how many of them
- 5:56has he played with?
- 5:57Speaker 1: Here?
- 5:57Speaker 2: Another one In course, Fontan Adams is a good player.
- 6:00It's not like he's going out and getting Randall Cobb here.
- 6:03He is still even at thirty two years old, He's
- 6:05coming off his fourth straight one thousand yard season. But
- 6:09how much does Avante Adams have up in the tank
- 6:11and will it be enough to turn the Jets season around?
- 6:15But between Sala and the Adams trades and all this,
- 6:18you know Aaron Rodgers is making an impact in New York.
- 6:22Speaker 1: All right, we'll be back to wrap up today's edition
- 6:24of the program right here on Sports Radio AM thirteen
- 6:26hundred Zone
