- 0:06Speaker 1: Today we're going to be breaking down XRP ripple and
- 0:09Speaker 1: some very interesting news that could be happening. You guys
- 0:12Speaker 1: don't want to miss this one. My money, miss small barrel.
- 0:13Speaker 1: We'll come back into tech path. Let's jump into it.
- 0:16Speaker 1: I do want to thank our sponsor today and that
- 0:17Speaker 1: is Uphold. This is a place where you can actually
- 0:20Speaker 1: go out there, put a little XRP into your Uphold account,
- 0:23Speaker 1: but you can also do some other things over there,
- 0:25Speaker 1: and that is earn up to four and a half
- 0:27Speaker 1: percent apy on your US dollar balance right now, that's
- 0:30Speaker 1: how much they're paying if you deposit dollars into Uphold.
- 0:34Speaker 1: The cool thing about Uphold, if you've never been over there,
- 0:37Speaker 1: is this is a company who goes out there, finds
- 0:39Speaker 1: the best rate for you, allows you to go out
- 0:42Speaker 1: there even earn some additional rewards on a lot of
- 0:44Speaker 1: your different crypto assets. It's very easy to get started.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Use our link down below. You'll get some special offers
- 0:50Speaker 1: to get going. As you guys know, XRP, the Bitcoin Conference,
- 0:55Speaker 1: the Salana event all happening here in May. I will
- 0:59Speaker 1: be at this event right here at XRP Las Vegas
- 1:02Speaker 1: on May thirtieth through the thirty first and today, I
- 1:04Speaker 1: wanted to bring in Bradley Comes, who's the event director
- 1:07Speaker 1: and organizer, to kind of break down some things that
- 1:10Speaker 1: are happening within the ripple ecosystem. Bradley, it's great to
- 1:13Speaker 1: have you on the show.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Paul, thank you for having me. Man, it's great to
- 1:17Speaker 2: It's great to have you at XRP Las Vegas.
- 1:19Speaker 1: It's going to be fun. I've already seen and talked
- 1:22Speaker 1: to quite a few people that will be there. It's
- 1:25Speaker 1: going to be interesting in terms of some of the topics.
- 1:28Speaker 1: I'll be moderating a couple of panels, very intriguing discussions,
- 1:32Speaker 1: a lot of really good gets. In terms of the people, Bradley,
- 1:35Speaker 1: when you look at the layout of not only the people,
- 1:39Speaker 1: the companies that will be involved, some of the biggest
- 1:42Speaker 1: capital companies out there, anything that you're expecting in terms
- 1:46Speaker 1: of maybe news or you know, interesting conversations that may happen.
- 1:52Speaker 2: I do think, and I don't want to spoil it
- 1:55Speaker 2: for anybody else, you know, any of the companies or
- 1:57Speaker 2: sponsors that are participating, But I do know that some
- 2:00Speaker 2: of the sponsors that will be attending have some really
- 2:03Speaker 2: incredible things planned and if history is any measure. Last
- 2:09Speaker 2: year and every year, we've always had something on stage,
- 2:13Speaker 2: be breaking news, something that's being shared for the first time,
- 2:17Speaker 2: and that is absolutely an exciting possibility. And I think
- 2:21Speaker 2: you're going to hear some incredible things this year too, So.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Some possible mic drops when you look at you guys
- 2:27Speaker 1: have been holding this event for what three years?
- 2:29Speaker 3: Yes, this will be our third year this year.
- 2:31Speaker 1: What has been the biggest thing that has come out
- 2:33Speaker 1: of previous events? Was there anything that you remember that
- 2:36Speaker 1: was like, hey, this was a big moment for Ripple
- 2:39Speaker 1: and the XRP ecosystem.
- 2:41Speaker 2: I think it was just the support of the XRP
- 2:45Speaker 2: community coming together. You know, XRP community, unlike any other community,
- 2:51Speaker 2: has been sued, right, We've had a lot of hate
- 2:55Speaker 2: and vitriol on social media, and we've been through so
- 2:58Speaker 2: much that I believe, unknowingly this conference has helped to
- 3:03Speaker 2: really bring us together as a collective because we have
- 3:07Speaker 2: been through four plus years of a lawsuit and you
- 3:10Speaker 2: certainly know the history. You've done an amazing job covering.
- 3:13Speaker 2: But I think that's the biggest thing that really was
- 3:16Speaker 2: not even thought about. And you'll see there'll be over
- 3:19Speaker 2: one thousand people at this event, and they're all incredible people,
- 3:23Speaker 2: and they're all super knowledgeable, and they realize that not
- 3:27Speaker 2: only is it a chance to network at this event,
- 3:29Speaker 2: but you're going to hear things on stage over the
- 3:32Speaker 2: course of those two days.
- 3:33Speaker 3: That you will not hear anywhere else.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that's the that's kind of the special
- 3:40Speaker 1: attention that I think a lot of people need to
- 3:42Speaker 1: pay two major events like this one is that when
- 3:45Speaker 1: you get a chance to go to these and of
- 3:46Speaker 1: course we'll cover it, but there's a lot of difference
- 3:50Speaker 1: between hearing about it afterwards and hearing and seeing it
- 3:54Speaker 1: happen live. In some cases, this can mean some impact
- 3:58Speaker 1: even on your own portfolio, because you're thinking through things
- 4:01Speaker 1: that a lot of these people are talking about. And
- 4:03Speaker 1: a lot of times when I'm on stage, and also
- 4:06Speaker 1: when I hear people that we're interviewing, a lot of
- 4:09Speaker 1: times people they want it to come out, even though
- 4:12Speaker 1: they may not want to say it, but they want
- 4:14Speaker 1: stuff to come out. You can kind of read between
- 4:16Speaker 1: the lines. So that's kind of what I'm looking for
- 4:19Speaker 1: right now. Speaking of that, there's some interesting things brewing
- 4:23Speaker 1: here that I want to present to you, and the
- 4:25Speaker 1: XRP community around our research because we think there might
- 4:29Speaker 1: be something around this whole stable coin movement that is
- 4:33Speaker 1: happening right now. We've saw Coinbase of course accelerating their
- 4:37Speaker 1: movement within USDC and a course, as you can see,
- 4:41Speaker 1: Coinbase is now guess what coming in with rapped XRP
- 4:46Speaker 1: very soon. So here is something that I think is happening.
- 4:49Speaker 1: And we think that Meta is in a position right
- 4:52Speaker 1: now because Mark Zuckerberg has already talking I've got a
- 4:55Speaker 1: clip here in a second, i'll play for you. He's
- 4:57Speaker 1: already talked about getting more involved in stable coins and
- 5:01Speaker 1: it has been you remember Libra was kind of a
- 5:03Speaker 1: miss because it was way too early. But now Circle
- 5:08Speaker 1: has come to the game. Jeremy Laire. We're starting to
- 5:11Speaker 1: see rl us D make its play paypalas in it.
- 5:14Speaker 1: We're seeing now Robin Hood going for it. Almost everybody
- 5:18Speaker 1: is making a play at stable coins. Meta was kind
- 5:21Speaker 1: of one of the early guys out there. And if
- 5:24Speaker 1: you look at some of the people and hires, I
- 5:26Speaker 1: want to show you guys something. This is Ginger Baker.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Now she is the VP of product now at Meta.
- 5:33Speaker 1: The difference here is this lady's background comes very interestingly
- 5:38Speaker 1: tied in to the Stellar board and foundation a bank,
- 5:43Speaker 1: first Horizon and then also Plaid. She spent four years
- 5:46Speaker 1: over there, Plaid, a major payment processor. All right, let
- 5:51Speaker 1: me bring up one other little point here that everybody's
- 5:53Speaker 1: gonna focused in on, and that was head of Demand Liquidity,
- 5:57Speaker 1: all right, And this was from twenty nineteen to twenty twenty.
- 6:00Speaker 1: So here's the theory that you look at where Ripple
- 6:03Speaker 1: and Meta may be creating some sort of intersection. This
- 6:08Speaker 1: next clip that I want to get to, I want
- 6:10Speaker 1: your opinion on this because Mark Zuckerberg says some very
- 6:12Speaker 1: interesting things, and he's talking about these acquisitions that he's
- 6:16Speaker 1: done and that other companies have done just here recently.
- 6:19Speaker 3: Take a look.
- 6:21Speaker 4: The thing that's complicated for us is like, we deliver
- 6:24Speaker 4: our services through our competitors. Right, so Apple and Google
- 6:27Speaker 4: probably you know, two of our biggest competitors. It is awkward.
- 6:31Speaker 4: At some point we ran this calculation and we're like,
- 6:33Speaker 4: all right, if we were able to do all the
- 6:34Speaker 4: things that we thought were good, I think we might
- 6:37Speaker 4: be twice as profitable as a company or something as
- 6:41Speaker 4: we are now. Mostly, I honestly get more offended by
- 6:45Speaker 4: like the consumer things that we just think are good
- 6:47Speaker 4: that they just block us from doing just the consumers. Yeah, so,
- 6:50Speaker 4: as you know, sending money to people across lines country
- 6:55Speaker 4: lines is like surprisingly crazily difficult. We're not a financial
- 7:01Speaker 4: services company, but it just seems like this thing is
- 7:04Speaker 4: so broken that like someone needs to build a stable
- 7:07Speaker 4: coin and the thing that needs to exist is basically
- 7:10Speaker 4: needs to have a certain amount of scale in order
- 7:12Speaker 4: to become a standard. Honestly, what you're doing makes much
- 7:14Speaker 4: more sense than what we were doing, like it like
- 7:16Speaker 4: it just I think these things are very DNA driven.
- 7:19Speaker 4: You guys are the I think the theft about it.
- 7:23Speaker 4: Last you know what you guys did with buying Bridge,
- 7:26Speaker 4: It Honestly, it makes a lot of sense to me.
- 7:28Speaker 4: I think it's I think it's gonna work. Good news
- 7:30Speaker 4: is you have reincarnated the idea with Bridge into something
- 7:34Speaker 4: that is going to do much better because now there's
- 7:36Speaker 4: actually a company that is fully focused on this that's
- 7:38Speaker 4: gonna absolutely nail the opportunity.
- 7:40Speaker 3: Globally, we are seeing a lot of stable cooin growth, all.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Right, So just to give you kind of a background
- 7:46Speaker 1: on that, Bradly, when you look at what Zuckerberg was
- 7:49Speaker 1: talking about. That was Stripe that they were talking with
- 7:52Speaker 1: at a Stripe event and Stripe acquiring Bridge stable coin
- 7:56Speaker 1: connection for Stripe payments. Meta is in a position right
- 8:01Speaker 1: now that they even now he said that within the
- 8:03Speaker 1: interview there is they have seen this maybe as a
- 8:06Speaker 1: reincarnation of the idea of an acquisition. So could we
- 8:11Speaker 1: see a potential end around here with someone like Meta
- 8:16Speaker 1: going after Ripple And you look at the potential Ripple
- 8:20Speaker 1: IPO valuation that's all been talked about, and you kind
- 8:24Speaker 1: of compare this because this would open up two things
- 8:27Speaker 1: for Meta. First of all, even Zuckerberg just said that
- 8:30Speaker 1: it would double their profit if they could get into
- 8:33Speaker 1: cross border payments. We have never seen that kind of
- 8:36Speaker 1: volume in crypto before, the amount of volume that we
- 8:39Speaker 1: could see coming in off of something like Meta. What
- 8:41Speaker 1: are your thoughts about that as a move if Meta
- 8:45Speaker 1: were to try to make a play for Ripple, primarily
- 8:48Speaker 1: because of the stable coin, you.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Know, I think just the idea of this make it
- 8:55Speaker 2: all makes sense, right. I mean, whether it goes down
- 8:57Speaker 2: or not, it's another matter, right, But at the end
- 9:00Speaker 2: the day, we are I think what you're pointing to
- 9:02Speaker 2: that sticks out to me is the is the macro
- 9:04Speaker 2: trend we're in right now, which is mergers and acquisitions,
- 9:07Speaker 2: you know, and whether it's Ripple or whether it's Meta
- 9:10Speaker 2: targeting them or what have you.
- 9:12Speaker 3: I see this.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Is the moment where special things like this can take place,
- 9:16Speaker 2: because you know, to the point that you were making
- 9:19Speaker 2: you know, Zuckerberg was talking to Strike.
- 9:22Speaker 3: I believe my memory serves me correctly.
- 9:23Speaker 2: Stripe holds like, I don't know if it's one to
- 9:25Speaker 2: five percent of all XLM Stellar, right.
- 9:29Speaker 3: So they're definitely planning on a play, right.
- 9:34Speaker 2: And I know most people may not remember, but Eli
- 9:37Speaker 2: Musk comes from PayPal originally in the PayPal mafia, right,
- 9:40Speaker 2: and payments, and he's getting ready to turn x into
- 9:43Speaker 2: a payments platform. So you know, Meta has to have
- 9:46Speaker 2: a plan.
- 9:47Speaker 3: Now.
- 9:48Speaker 2: If that plan involves trying to acquire Ripple, I don't know,
- 9:51Speaker 2: but I do think that's what's so special about this
- 9:54Speaker 2: moment that we're in. Just like Ripple trying to acquire Circle, right,
- 9:58Speaker 2: It's like all.
- 9:59Speaker 3: Of these things happening.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Tell me the larger sign is is that this isn't
- 10:04Speaker 2: turning around and going the other way. This is going
- 10:06Speaker 2: exactly the way we wanted to go. The Magnificent seven
- 10:09Speaker 2: is about to come into play here. They're about to
- 10:12Speaker 2: bring massive amounts of crypto users that don't know their
- 10:15Speaker 2: crypto users yet because they're going to push an update
- 10:17Speaker 2: on everybody's pone and platform and instantly you have a
- 10:20Speaker 2: crypto wallet.
- 10:21Speaker 3: You just have to start using it.
- 10:23Speaker 1: So, Bradley, do you you get a chance to see
- 10:25Speaker 1: the community up close at these events? Do you think
- 10:29Speaker 1: that the XRP community would embrace something like that, an
- 10:33Speaker 1: idea that where Ripple and Meta were to create some
- 10:37Speaker 1: sort of whether it's a merger and acquisition joint venture,
- 10:42Speaker 1: what would do you think the community would do? Would
- 10:44Speaker 1: they be for it or against it?
- 10:47Speaker 2: I think they would be for it because, first of all,
- 10:49Speaker 2: I wouldn't see Brad Garlinghause or anyone at Ripple making
- 10:52Speaker 2: any kind of a shortfall decision, right, and whatever they do,
- 10:57Speaker 2: it's going to be in the best interest of Ripple
- 10:59Speaker 2: and pursuing the mass adoption of the innovation and the technology.
- 11:03Speaker 3: And my mind just comes back to that, right, It's like, well,
- 11:07Speaker 3: what's the best way?
- 11:08Speaker 2: Because you know, what's so special about the XRP ledger
- 11:11Speaker 2: besides the scalability efficiency and the cost effectiveness, right, and
- 11:15Speaker 2: those things the real special sauce in there is the
- 11:20Speaker 2: decentralized exchange built into the layer one, which makes it
- 11:23Speaker 2: a decentralized exchange for the world, right, a New York
- 11:27Speaker 2: stock exchange for the world.
- 11:28Speaker 3: So in my mind, I see, I see.
- 11:32Speaker 2: The goal in the vision of Ripple and the XRP
- 11:35Speaker 2: ledgers use much larger than.
- 11:38Speaker 3: Meta and that's a whe use, okay, But at the
- 11:42Speaker 3: same time, but I mean, you know, Paul, I also.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Happened to believe that we could see the digital asset
- 11:48Speaker 2: stockpile used to price control digital assets that they choose
- 11:53Speaker 2: by buying and selling those assets the same way that
- 11:55Speaker 2: they control the price of oil globally, right, or the
- 11:59Speaker 2: way they control the to registrate.
- 12:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Well, and I think the key here when you look
- 12:04Speaker 1: at the uptake of critical mass, because another thing that
- 12:07Speaker 1: Zuckerberg said that is very important within that interview is
- 12:10Speaker 1: he said scale. And you think about where USDC is
- 12:15Speaker 1: right now. I wouldn't say they're at scale because it's
- 12:18Speaker 1: still very limited in use. If you look at just
- 12:21Speaker 1: the comparison, Ripple edges closer to making history and its
- 12:25Speaker 1: twelve year journey. This is six and a half million holders.
- 12:28Speaker 1: All right, so this is already critical mass and scale,
- 12:33Speaker 1: especially within the ecosystem of just Ripple and XRP. Imagine
- 12:38Speaker 1: what that would look like if cross border payments were
- 12:41Speaker 1: enabled on meta through the XRPL and the ability to
- 12:46Speaker 1: possibly use RLUSD as a mechanism for settlement, all of
- 12:50Speaker 1: this would absolutely the volume would be unbelievable in comparison
- 12:55Speaker 1: because of just what Zuckerberg was saying. He says doubling
- 12:58Speaker 1: his profits. So can you what the throughput would be?
- 13:01Speaker 3: So pretty crazy? I think you have some good stuff there.
- 13:05Speaker 2: I think there's definitely a potential pathway forward for them
- 13:10Speaker 2: to work in some shape, way or form.
- 13:12Speaker 3: I really do believe that.
- 13:13Speaker 2: And you know, to point out just something you brought
- 13:15Speaker 2: up Circle for a second there. You know, one of
- 13:18Speaker 2: the things I think that is interesting about Circle is
- 13:20Speaker 2: that you know why the company's IPO, the IPO or
- 13:23Speaker 2: general you know, broadly speaking, to raise funds in capital
- 13:26Speaker 2: And just a few weeks before they announced that IPO,
- 13:28Speaker 2: they said they were going to launch their own payments platform,
- 13:30Speaker 2: which they don't have a native payments platform. And then
- 13:34Speaker 2: I thought to myself, well, then here another week or
- 13:36Speaker 2: two later, we hear about the IPO, and then we
- 13:39Speaker 2: hear about the offer to buy them from Ripple. And
- 13:41Speaker 2: it's interesting to me because you start asking yourself, Wow,
- 13:45Speaker 2: you know, understanding Circle's business model, that if the interest
- 13:48Speaker 2: rates get cut so that the president could refinance the debt,
- 13:52Speaker 2: that's going to squeeze the margin of Circle leading into
- 13:55Speaker 2: an IPO, So you wonder, and they don't have a
- 13:59Speaker 2: payments platform, so then you start thinking, Wow, that offer
- 14:02Speaker 2: from Ripple.
- 14:03Speaker 3: Might be pretty good.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Because all of this stems back to what I think
- 14:06Speaker 2: you've laid out wonderfully here today. It's these massive platforms
- 14:10Speaker 2: that have the ability to tap into this innovation starting
- 14:15Speaker 2: with stable coins and then spreading deeper into crypto and
- 14:18Speaker 2: getting the friction of the payments off of them and
- 14:22Speaker 2: turning it into a profit making part of their business
- 14:25Speaker 2: that is going to be embraced at a magnitude we've
- 14:29Speaker 2: yet to see.
- 14:30Speaker 1: I believe well, and I think what could be happening.
- 14:32Speaker 1: We'll talk about DeFi here in a second, when you
- 14:34Speaker 1: look at the banking ecosystem, and we'll talk about stable
- 14:36Speaker 1: coins in the sense of the banks possibly holding this up.
- 14:39Speaker 1: But to your point is that maybe we are in
- 14:42Speaker 1: a dynamic shift right now where a lot of these
- 14:45Speaker 1: major platforms become somewhat neo bank like that are essentially
- 14:50Speaker 1: our online banks, giving out the ability to somewhat supplant
- 14:55Speaker 1: what the traditional banking system is up against. Look at DeFi,
- 15:00Speaker 1: and this is something that is many people would just say, well, yeah,
- 15:03Speaker 1: but DeFi is not necessarily growing that fast with with XRPL.
- 15:08Speaker 1: If you look at it right now, ten million XRP
- 15:10Speaker 1: deposit cap now reached. Everybody's kind of going in with
- 15:15Speaker 1: the idea of it, but it's still very low. If
- 15:18Speaker 1: you look at other DeFi ecosystems out there, do you
- 15:21Speaker 1: think this is too slow right now? In terms of
- 15:24Speaker 1: DeFi four. What's happening with Ripple?
- 15:28Speaker 2: I don't, and I believe that I can explain why
- 15:31Speaker 2: it's happened. You know, Let's look at the most successful
- 15:34Speaker 2: DeFi networks. Oh, that's right, they were never sued for
- 15:38Speaker 2: over four years.
- 15:40Speaker 3: Right. Yeah.
- 15:42Speaker 2: If you're wondering why, you know what I mean the
- 15:45Speaker 2: other networks are having a great DeFi run, it's because
- 15:48Speaker 2: they were never sued for over four years, right and
- 15:51Speaker 2: obviously erroneously, I believe, So you know, to me, like
- 15:55Speaker 2: what people are seeing when they look at defis, I
- 15:57Speaker 2: think you're just looking at a network that's coming out
- 15:59Speaker 2: of a four year nightmare that should have never ever happened.
- 16:06Speaker 1: Yeah, and a couple of things that are happening here
- 16:08Speaker 1: obviously JEM and wallet bitfrost now coming into you know,
- 16:12Speaker 1: now we'll see more decentralized finance coming in from XRP
- 16:16Speaker 1: with yields, So that's an advantage. Now, this is of
- 16:19Speaker 1: course our l USD. This is my other question to you.
- 16:22Speaker 1: You look at this is just market cap right now,
- 16:24Speaker 1: it's somewhat stuck right there, around three hundred million. You
- 16:30Speaker 1: compare this to other you know, stable coins out there,
- 16:33Speaker 1: even PayPal to a certain extent if you go down
- 16:35Speaker 1: the ranking. Obviously tether Circle leading the pack. But do
- 16:38Speaker 1: you think that is too slow in terms of growth
- 16:41Speaker 1: and uptake or is it just a situation where we
- 16:44Speaker 1: haven't seen enough exchanges and entities around the industry embrace
- 16:49Speaker 1: it as of yet.
- 16:51Speaker 3: I think that's it. I think the less your latter
- 16:53Speaker 3: part of that is exactly right.
- 16:55Speaker 2: We're just now getting out of this lawsuit and now
- 16:58Speaker 2: everybody waiting for the actual I mean, I know a
- 17:01Speaker 2: real usd's launched, but we're looking to see it get
- 17:03Speaker 2: launched and massive at the tune of hidden road right
- 17:07Speaker 2: and beyond. And for me, I think when you start
- 17:10Speaker 2: seeing that proliferation of adoption, DeFi is going to take
- 17:14Speaker 2: care of itself. I think that becomes like a byproduct
- 17:17Speaker 2: of a healthy network with clear rules to the road.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Legislation's been passed, and I think everything kind of serves
- 17:24Speaker 2: itself at that point and it just really starts taking
- 17:27Speaker 2: off like nobody would ever thought it would.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Well, you got to look at the stable coin metrics
- 17:33Speaker 1: over here on RILUSD and just to you know, just
- 17:36Speaker 1: to show you the ledger, you know versus ethereum, it's
- 17:39Speaker 1: kind of been flat, but it could open up in
- 17:41Speaker 1: terms of market cap and growth. It's definitely an opportunity
- 17:45Speaker 1: I think with stable coins, which leads me to my
- 17:48Speaker 1: next point, and that is that remember we had the
- 17:51Speaker 1: stable coin bill stall last week, didn't make it through.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Elizabeth Warren was successful again to round up enough Democrats
- 17:58Speaker 1: to vote no. But now what we're finding is this
- 18:02Speaker 1: right here, community bankers are having a fly in this week,
- 18:06Speaker 1: and this is where community bankers now are possibly to
- 18:10Speaker 1: blame here to cause the stable coin bills to possibly
- 18:15Speaker 1: be slowed down. And this is my theory, is that
- 18:17Speaker 1: when you look at community banks, looking at where the
- 18:20Speaker 1: potential growth is, if a stable coin bill gets enacted,
- 18:24Speaker 1: where it really opens up, there's going to be all
- 18:26Speaker 1: sorts of new whether it's neo banks, other banks, obviously,
- 18:30Speaker 1: entities like you know, whether it's coinbase or even Robinhood
- 18:34Speaker 1: or others out there even cracking with their own This
- 18:37Speaker 1: is going to really put a lot of pressure on
- 18:39Speaker 1: these banks. So it could be the last ditch effort
- 18:42Speaker 1: for the banking system to try to thwart crypto and
- 18:46Speaker 1: stable coins. Do you think they're going to be successful.
- 18:49Speaker 3: I don't.
- 18:50Speaker 2: I don't, and I think you've got it pegged perfectly.
- 18:53Speaker 2: I think this is exactly what we've been fighting this
- 18:56Speaker 2: entire time.
- 18:57Speaker 3: I think you've got it spot on. But I don't
- 18:59Speaker 3: think that they're going to be successful.
- 19:01Speaker 2: And the reason I don't is actually quite scary, and
- 19:03Speaker 2: it's because of the situation the US dollar sits as
- 19:06Speaker 2: the world reserve currency.
- 19:08Speaker 3: And I think you just look at the recent trips.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Of President Trump going to the Middle East where we
- 19:13Speaker 2: have the petro dollar agreement that elevates the US dollar
- 19:17Speaker 2: as the world reserve currency, which also happens to be
- 19:19Speaker 2: a place where we just got a license at Ripple
- 19:22Speaker 2: that is clearing them for use for payments in that
- 19:25Speaker 2: same region.
- 19:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:26Speaker 2: I don't find things to be mutually exclusive. I find
- 19:30Speaker 2: them to be in cooperation and falling in line of
- 19:33Speaker 2: how you're implementing a new system. I believe that stable
- 19:37Speaker 2: coins are so important, and I had this to the
- 19:40Speaker 2: XRP Las Vegas conference twenty four last year. I sat
- 19:43Speaker 2: on stage with the honorable Christian Carlo and we had
- 19:46Speaker 2: a absolute incredible conversation about stable coins, and I floated
- 19:51Speaker 2: to him, I said, am I right to think that
- 19:54Speaker 2: these stable coins act as a bulkhead to soak up
- 19:58Speaker 2: the hyperinflated bonds that will be coming back home because
- 20:01Speaker 2: of the countries that want to dump them. And that's
- 20:03Speaker 2: your new use case to replace the petro dollar agreement,
- 20:06Speaker 2: so we don't need the oil from another country, or
- 20:09Speaker 2: we don't need to wake up or go to bed
- 20:11Speaker 2: every night wondering if they're still going to honor that
- 20:13Speaker 2: agreement exclusively, which, by the way, they started not to, right,
- 20:17Speaker 2: So you know, so it's interesting to me when I
- 20:20Speaker 2: see that, and that's the kind of conversations that's happening
- 20:22Speaker 2: on XRP Las Vegas stages, right, and it'll happen again
- 20:25Speaker 2: this year, and we'll have the Honorable Christiancarlo again there
- 20:28Speaker 2: this year. And that's why I say that this was
- 20:32Speaker 2: You know what's funny to me, Paul, is that they
- 20:34Speaker 2: stonewalled this bill. The left side of the Aisle did, primarily,
- 20:38Speaker 2: and they did that after being in committee when they
- 20:42Speaker 2: were the ones that actually did the religions, and then
- 20:44Speaker 2: drafted it through committee giving it the approval, knowing that
- 20:48Speaker 2: it would get the floor vote that was needed. So
- 20:50Speaker 2: it's political grand standing in my eyes. So they could
- 20:53Speaker 2: just show that we don't like that Trump's family is
- 20:56Speaker 2: buying into crypto before having the legislation passed.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Well, you said a lot of interesting things that I
- 21:02Speaker 1: think people have to follow along, and that is none
- 21:05Speaker 1: of this is by chance. I think a lot of
- 21:07Speaker 1: this is by architecture, whether it's an orchestra being played
- 21:11Speaker 1: out right. Now, you've got Scott Bess and David Sachs.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Those two guys are strategically positioned obviously for negotiating deals.
- 21:19Speaker 1: And back to your point of when you look at
- 21:21Speaker 1: US treasuries being bought globally, the potential of repatriating some
- 21:27Speaker 1: of that now here in the United States is going
- 21:29Speaker 1: to put a lot less pressure in the United States
- 21:31Speaker 1: and continue to increase the US dollar as a reserve
- 21:35Speaker 1: because you have a stable coin backed treasury that is
- 21:38Speaker 1: now starting to open up. And imagine the number of
- 21:41Speaker 1: countries that this is going to open up it too,
- 21:44Speaker 1: just to be able to hold that US dollar in
- 21:46Speaker 1: your little digital wallet. This is going to be fantastic, Paul.
- 21:50Speaker 2: I want to give you a little scenario because I
- 21:53Speaker 2: know you'll just love it. So you have ripple with
- 21:55Speaker 2: the real USD right, you have XRP itself, the real
- 22:00Speaker 2: USD adoption on the new digital on chain economy is
- 22:03Speaker 2: going to draw more liquidity to the network, so that
- 22:06Speaker 2: way there's more privileged position for XRP to start to.
- 22:09Speaker 3: Make markets on the back end. And that's going to
- 22:12Speaker 3: be Amazon. Right. What if what if.
- 22:16Speaker 2: The government decides this technology is so good, Paul, that
- 22:20Speaker 2: they say, you know what, we actually want to hold
- 22:22Speaker 2: XRP in a digital asset stockpile where they can you know,
- 22:26Speaker 2: contain it and sell it, but they have to acquire
- 22:28Speaker 2: it in a budget neutral way. So what if they
- 22:31Speaker 2: start offering US Treasury digital asset bonds for bitcoin XRP
- 22:36Speaker 2: ada US domicile assets like wartime bonds, right, and then
- 22:41Speaker 2: let the people buy them, they acquire the budget neutral.
- 22:44Speaker 2: But better than that, the US Treasury could deem it
- 22:46Speaker 2: so important, or the government could come in and every
- 22:49Speaker 2: month when the XRP escrow comes out, they could buy it,
- 22:52Speaker 2: issue ripple US Treasury bonds which they need to get
- 22:56Speaker 2: real usd and then take the XRP, put it in
- 22:59Speaker 2: the digital asset stockpile and then control the price the
- 23:02Speaker 2: same way they do oil.
- 23:04Speaker 1: Well, this is the thing.
- 23:05Speaker 3: Yeah, that's their reset.
- 23:07Speaker 1: Yeah, this is what Trump is talking about, is getting
- 23:09Speaker 1: a reset even with China if you look at the
- 23:12Speaker 1: reset of trade agreement. But of course China being one
- 23:15Speaker 1: of the largest holders of US treasuries, all of this
- 23:18Speaker 1: plays into weakening other countries into almost in a backway,
- 23:23Speaker 1: I won't say it backhand away, but definitely a strategic
- 23:26Speaker 1: way to get them to hold US treasuries via stable
- 23:30Speaker 1: coins that are now going to be proliferated around seventy
- 23:32Speaker 1: eighty countries.
- 23:33Speaker 3: Maybe by year end.
- 23:35Speaker 1: You know, So this stable coin bill is very important,
- 23:38Speaker 1: and it's so important. I think you know. August, of course,
- 23:40Speaker 1: is the deadline. We're going to be watching that very closely.
- 23:44Speaker 1: We'll probably be talking about this out there at the
- 23:46Speaker 1: XRAP Las Vegas event, So if you guys aren't going,
- 23:50Speaker 1: you pay attention because there's going to be a lot
- 23:52Speaker 1: of stuff that comes out of there for sure. Hey Brandley,
