- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from KFI AM
- 0:04Speaker 1: six forty.
- 0:10Speaker 2: You said the colon osky is the gold standard.
- 0:12Speaker 3: Oh that's so my doctor told me that too.
- 0:14Speaker 2: I said, there's too many false positives and false negatives.
- 0:17Speaker 4: Yes, there's blood tests and there's a sigmoidoscopy which only
- 0:21Speaker 4: a small portion of your intestine. And that's where the
- 0:24Speaker 4: term a signaler it comes from from.
- 0:28Speaker 1: No, come and now handle on the news, ladies and gentlemen.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Here's Bill Handle.
- 0:36Speaker 3: And dead Good morning everybody.
- 0:38Speaker 4: It is on Monday, January twenty six, Headed Brooker in
- 0:42Speaker 4: for Amy.
- 0:44Speaker 3: Heather.
- 0:45Speaker 4: I noticed you were taking a phone call just before
- 0:48Speaker 4: we went to break, prior to starting the show, and
- 0:52Speaker 4: you had some shill on saying that loves what you do.
- 0:58Speaker 3: You should get your own show.
- 0:59Speaker 4: And wait, okay, let me tell you what do you
- 1:02Speaker 4: think the chances of you getting your own show on
- 1:05Speaker 4: KF five that is correct. Ever, you will never get
- 1:08Speaker 4: a show. Does never sound okay to you because never
- 1:10Speaker 4: certainly works for me.
- 1:12Speaker 3: Okay. Anyway, Amy is not here today because she's taking off.
- 1:17Speaker 4: Her birthday, which I've never understood taking off your birthday.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Well, tomorrow is her birthday. She's taking because she wants
- 1:23Speaker 2: everyone to wish her happy birthday tomorrow social game back
- 1:26Speaker 2: for the birthday.
- 1:27Speaker 3: That's great in the meantime, but she takes it off today.
- 1:30Speaker 3: Fair enough.
- 1:31Speaker 4: So I want to talk about your massive accomplishments that
- 1:36Speaker 4: you make and earn during the course of your birth.
- 1:40Speaker 4: There you go.
- 1:41Speaker 3: It's almost as if.
- 1:44Speaker 4: You're winning the Nobel Prize or graduating law school at
- 1:47Speaker 4: the top of your class, or creating some new technology.
- 1:52Speaker 4: You have been born. Boy, there's an accomplishment for you.
- 1:56Speaker 4: You were born. Okay, let's celebrate that.
- 2:01Speaker 5: All my all my birthday wishes and my gifts, and
- 2:04Speaker 5: they give them to Trump.
- 2:07Speaker 3: Yes, a Nobel Peace Prize. That's correct. That's an accomplishment.
- 2:12Speaker 5: See, never accomplishment without your huge accomplishment.
- 2:16Speaker 3: Huge yes see.
- 2:18Speaker 4: But that is an accomplishment receiving the Nobel Prize, not
- 2:21Speaker 4: earning it, but receiving it, which is great news and
- 2:24Speaker 4: as a gift, as a birthday gift. Did you notice
- 2:27Speaker 4: that when Mahado handed him to Go her Peace prize,
- 2:30Speaker 4: it wasn't gift wrapped. It should have been gift wrapped
- 2:33Speaker 4: and put in a box.
- 2:35Speaker 2: So he was like surprised opening it.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Like, yeah, oh wow, thank you. All right.
- 2:40Speaker 4: Anyways, Heather is here today and we are thrilled to
- 2:45Speaker 4: have her here.
- 2:45Speaker 3: Oh yeah, absolutely thrilled. That's great. Are you today, Bill me?
- 2:54Speaker 4: No, I was just a little thrilled. You're a little crotchety, okay,
- 2:59Speaker 4: unusual I'm unusually crotchity. Okay, welcome to the show.
- 3:05Speaker 5: I help you don't die like the rest of the
- 3:07Speaker 5: crew during the middle of it.
- 3:09Speaker 3: So not as.
- 3:13Speaker 4: Uh cono, good morning. What kind of gas miles are
- 3:16Speaker 4: you getting in your new vehicle?
- 3:18Speaker 3: That'd be thirty three miles.
- 3:21Speaker 4: Thirty three city? How about what do you call it
- 3:26Speaker 4: freeway driving?
- 3:27Speaker 3: That's twenty nine so it's like.
- 3:29Speaker 4: No, it's the other it's the other way around unless
- 3:31Speaker 4: you have an electric vehicle.
- 3:33Speaker 5: No, it's close to that.
- 3:34Speaker 4: Yeah, it's uh it should be twenty nine city and
- 3:38Speaker 4: uh thirty nine highways the other way.
- 3:40Speaker 3: Highway is always yeah, highway is always more gas.
- 3:43Speaker 4: Prius, Yeah, you get fifty five miles an hour with
- 3:47Speaker 4: a Prius fifty.
- 3:49Speaker 3: And hybrid.
- 3:50Speaker 4: How about a hybrid or in all ev like, uh,
- 3:53Speaker 4: oh you can have you can buy mine, which I'm
- 3:56Speaker 4: unloading at the end of my lease because I'm done
- 4:00Speaker 4: with evs.
- 4:02Speaker 5: Well, you wanted to save money on gas by buying
- 4:04Speaker 5: one hundred and fifty thousand dollars cars.
- 4:06Speaker 3: No, you know what it was?
- 4:07Speaker 4: No, No, it was also Yeah, there's that, And there's
- 4:10Speaker 4: also the hassle of going into gas stations where I
- 4:14Speaker 4: just park at night, you know, put it in the
- 4:17Speaker 4: garage and plug it in and I'm done. The problem
- 4:20Speaker 4: is that I have range anxiety, and there aren't enough
- 4:24Speaker 4: chargers there. Sales of evs are dropping dramatically, and that
- 4:28Speaker 4: is for those two reasons. Well, actually one reason there
- 4:31Speaker 4: aren't enough chargers, which means that you have range anxiety.
- 4:37Speaker 4: I've had my it'll be three years. I have my
- 4:39Speaker 4: car two and a half years. I have never publicly
- 4:41Speaker 4: charged it. I've only charged it at home, and I've
- 4:44Speaker 4: charged it at the station. That's it of all the years.
- 4:47Speaker 4: But then again, the only time I have range anxieties
- 4:50Speaker 4: when I drive up from Orange County.
- 4:52Speaker 3: Okay, so much for that, will Good morning.
- 4:55Speaker 4: Good morning, Bill, and Neil's already interrupted to make me
- 4:59Speaker 4: feel terrible didn't work, and good morning, good morning, good morning.
- 5:04Speaker 4: And just bought a hat and I want her to
- 5:06Speaker 4: uh wear.
- 5:07Speaker 5: It's good morning, rebelliously.
- 5:08Speaker 4: Bro Yeah, you know, we we have to push ann
- 5:12Speaker 4: to uh wear her new hat.
- 5:15Speaker 2: And did you get a new hat?
- 5:16Speaker 4: I did, Yes, it's yeah, it's a nice hat.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Uh, it's it's a red hat. As soon as I
- 5:22Speaker 3: get it.
- 5:23Speaker 2: I ordered it on Amazon.
- 5:25Speaker 3: And are you gonna put it up well on Instagram?
- 5:29Speaker 3: I hope you guys right, yeah, oh yeah, I've seen
- 5:32Speaker 3: it already.
- 5:34Speaker 2: It's I can't you showed my camera to the other way.
- 5:41Speaker 3: What's the what's to read that?
- 5:44Speaker 5: I'm probably closer to retiring than Bill. I'll read it.
- 5:49Speaker 4: Yeah you should there there you are on the show gone.
- 5:53Speaker 4: Uh and the show may be gone? Yeah, especially yeah, yeah,
- 5:57Speaker 4: especially these days.
- 5:58Speaker 3: It doesn't lie.
- 5:59Speaker 4: Uh yeah, what hats don't lie? Okay, guys, let's start it.
- 6:03Speaker 4: It's time for Handle on the news with Amy Gon
- 6:07Speaker 4: and Brooke in and me lead.
- 6:09Speaker 3: Sorry, We're going.
- 6:15Speaker 4: To see a lot of protests. We already have now
- 6:18Speaker 4: in another shooting in Minnesota. This is after the killing
- 6:22Speaker 4: of Rene Good. This was now a nurse who has
- 6:27Speaker 4: been shot in Minneapolis.
- 6:30Speaker 3: Huge controversy about that.
- 6:32Speaker 4: Thousands of protesters in Minneapolis and here in downtown LA
- 6:39Speaker 4: three hundred protesters. Is that is this story meant to
- 6:45Speaker 4: say a lot of protesters are out there or only
- 6:48Speaker 4: three hundred?
- 6:49Speaker 3: I don't quite know what should be the way to
- 6:51Speaker 3: be accurate.
- 6:54Speaker 5: Maybe we don't like accuracy anymore.
- 6:56Speaker 4: No, I understand, But again it's a story. Well, for example,
- 7:01Speaker 4: things that I have said on the air which are
- 7:03Speaker 4: offensive to insert name of ethnic group here. Who remember
- 7:08Speaker 4: there was a protest outside of our station five people?
- 7:12Speaker 4: Five people showed up and I think it was Channel eleven,
- 7:17Speaker 4: Channel five carried in such a way as they said
- 7:19Speaker 4: protesters lined up and the view of the camera looked
- 7:23Speaker 4: like it was many more than five.
- 7:25Speaker 3: So I don't know. Is that a lot of people
- 7:27Speaker 3: is significant?
- 7:30Speaker 4: Ye see, I don't think that's No. I'm not saying
- 7:34Speaker 4: it's not accurate. No, no, no, I'm not saying the story
- 7:36Speaker 4: is not accurate. What I'm saying is that considered a
- 7:40Speaker 4: lot of people or a small amount of people relative
- 7:43Speaker 4: to the protests.
- 7:44Speaker 3: Isn't it funny? Though?
- 7:45Speaker 5: Our first question is how is this news outlet trying
- 7:48Speaker 5: to spin this? We don't even nowadays, we don't trust anybody.
- 7:55Speaker 4: Yeah no, and you know we're not trying to spin
- 7:57Speaker 4: it every way is you know, as I said this.
- 7:59Speaker 4: It is accurate. It's just is that considered a lot
- 8:02Speaker 4: of people or not. I would consider it a small
- 8:04Speaker 4: number of people.
- 8:05Speaker 3: It's all. We'll talk more about this big time coming
- 8:09Speaker 3: up seven.
- 8:10Speaker 2: You know, when this happened on Saturday, you were live
- 8:12Speaker 2: and doing Handle on the news, and this was a
- 8:14Speaker 2: breaking story that was coming down and I wanted to
- 8:17Speaker 2: ask you about it and talk to you about it,
- 8:19Speaker 2: but I know you were busy giving marginal legal advice.
- 8:21Speaker 3: I don't I don't break away from.
- 8:23Speaker 2: That unless Bill Handle. What do you think about that?
- 8:26Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't do that unless if it's a big
- 8:28Speaker 4: enough story, I will just break from Handle on the
- 8:32Speaker 4: law and just and do the story.
- 8:34Speaker 2: But this wouldn't have This wouldn't have qualified as a
- 8:36Speaker 2: big enough story. I thought it was.
- 8:37Speaker 4: It's not a big enough story. It's a huge, huge story,
- 8:40Speaker 4: but it's not a big enough story. Also technically speaking,
- 8:45Speaker 4: and I'll just give you some inside baseball. The show
- 8:48Speaker 4: is both a local show and it's syndicated, And the
- 8:53Speaker 4: show that I do on Saturday is broadcast nationally the
- 8:57Speaker 4: next Saturday. Because the two claws are different. Yeah, the
- 9:01Speaker 4: national clock is different than the local clocks, so it
- 9:04Speaker 4: has to be edited during the week, so if I
- 9:07Speaker 4: had broken, the story would have been a week late
- 9:09Speaker 4: on all of the syndicated programs that I have, all
- 9:12Speaker 4: the radio stations.
- 9:13Speaker 2: That makes sense.
- 9:14Speaker 3: Yeah, So that's there.
- 9:16Speaker 2: You go, just inside baseball.
- 9:19Speaker 3: You're welcome.
- 9:19Speaker 4: That's inside baseball, okay, And it's not baseball inside baseball,
- 9:22Speaker 4: strangely enough, it's not about baseball.
- 9:24Speaker 3: All right.
- 9:25Speaker 2: So there is a government funding package that's facing some
- 9:29Speaker 2: new hurdles in the Senate after this weekend's shooting in
- 9:33Speaker 2: Minnesota and the uh, we're facing a federal potential i
- 9:39Speaker 2: should say, government shutdown coming up at the end of
- 9:42Speaker 2: this month, so just about a week away. The legislation
- 9:45Speaker 2: needs sixty votes to secure passage of this federal funding package.
- 9:50Speaker 2: And in the Chamber, where there's Republicans that control fifty
- 9:53Speaker 2: three seats there and a number of the key Democrats
- 9:56Speaker 2: who have voted for recent appropriations measures says they'll vote
- 9:59Speaker 2: against the funding for DHS unless restrictions are put in
- 10:04Speaker 2: how immigration officers carry out enforcement operations, so that the
- 10:07Speaker 2: bees sticking point.
- 10:09Speaker 4: Yeah, this is all about the shootings, and I'll talk
- 10:13Speaker 4: more about that too coming up at seven twenty. Boy
- 10:17Speaker 4: this thing is blowing up.
- 10:21Speaker 5: Speaking of blowing up, that winter storm continues to get
- 10:24Speaker 5: worse and worse and worse, and with that comes flight cancelations,
- 10:29Speaker 5: and now we're looking at pandemic time level numbers. So
- 10:34Speaker 5: you've got cancelations all across the board. Yesterday, reach territories
- 10:39Speaker 5: that we haven't seen since COVID nineteen got more than
- 10:43Speaker 5: eighty nine hundred departures from the US had been canceled
- 10:47Speaker 5: as a three point thirty pm Eastern time yesterday. We
- 10:51Speaker 5: have some stuff going on in our family, and my
- 10:55Speaker 5: brother's on the East coast and he's trying to get
- 10:57Speaker 5: back and he's like.
- 10:59Speaker 3: Hang it out. KFK was shut down. Was shut down.
- 11:02Speaker 4: By the way, they are now numbering or they're now
- 11:04Speaker 4: naming storms, and this is the first storm of the
- 11:09Speaker 4: season that is named. This is a climate change the
- 11:15Speaker 4: hoax number one. And we'll have a climate change the
- 11:19Speaker 4: hoax number two the next storm that comes in.
- 11:22Speaker 2: All right. President Zelenski said that a US security guarantees
- 11:28Speaker 2: document for Ukraine is one hundred percent ready to be
- 11:32Speaker 2: signed after two days of talks involving reps from the Ukraine,
- 11:36Speaker 2: US and Russia.
- 11:39Speaker 3: Yeah, US says that's the case.
- 11:42Speaker 4: Certainly Ukraine says that's the case, and Vladimir Putin. Putin
- 11:47Speaker 4: came out with his statement, huh there, that would be
- 11:55Speaker 4: funny if that was oh say that in Russian, but
- 11:59Speaker 4: it probably sounds similar.
- 12:02Speaker 5: Okay, go ahead. What causes collide? I'm always humored by
- 12:06Speaker 5: this is everybody, you know, when your beliefs collide, you
- 12:11Speaker 5: have problems trying to rationalize stuff. And now you've got
- 12:13Speaker 5: the NRA coming out and.
- 12:15Speaker 3: Going, who wha, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 12:18Speaker 5: You can't just shoot somebody if they're legally carrying a weapon.
- 12:22Speaker 5: And that's what it looks like is going on when
- 12:25Speaker 5: it comes to the killing of Alex Pretty in Minnesota.
- 12:30Speaker 5: This is a veterans affair hospital nurse. And as more
- 12:36Speaker 5: camera views and more information comes out, you've got the
- 12:40Speaker 5: NRA going, hey, hey, hey, this is people have the
- 12:44Speaker 5: right to carry gods.
- 12:45Speaker 3: Yeah, you know they were.
- 12:46Speaker 5: If they were not lawfully shot by officers, that's dangerous
- 12:50Speaker 5: and wrong.
- 12:51Speaker 4: Oh yeah, First Amendment advocates and this is an open
- 12:54Speaker 4: carry state. Second, and he was carrying legally, was carrying
- 13:00Speaker 4: legally and did not brandish his gun. It looks like
- 13:04Speaker 4: according and this is where the administration. I mean this
- 13:07Speaker 4: is it's raining outside and really the sky is blue
- 13:10Speaker 4: and you believe it's raining. No matter what they say.
- 13:13Speaker 4: Christinoam said he was there to massacre the federal authorities,
- 13:19Speaker 4: the ICE agents. He was there with the intent of
- 13:21Speaker 4: killing as many people as possible, the same thing with
- 13:26Speaker 4: Bovino said the same thing. Whose head of ICE. The
- 13:29Speaker 4: problem is is that the video doesn't show any of that.
- 13:33Speaker 4: And when Christinolman was asked did he brandish a weapon?
- 13:38Speaker 4: All she would say he was here to massacre the
- 13:42Speaker 4: ICE agents.
- 13:43Speaker 3: He did he brandish a weapon.
- 13:46Speaker 5: Think he was carrying the weapon for I think he
- 13:49Speaker 5: wasn't to kill anybody.
- 13:50Speaker 4: But no, he was just carrying away because maybe for
- 13:53Speaker 4: self defense, I don't know. Maybe he was carrying it
- 13:56Speaker 4: to show a point. I have no idea what his
- 13:58Speaker 4: motivation was, but clearly it wasn't at that moment to
- 14:02Speaker 4: massacre ICE ag. ICE agents. For well, if you look
- 14:05Speaker 4: at the video, two things. Number one, he never brandished it,
- 14:08Speaker 4: He never took it out of the holster. You see
- 14:11Speaker 4: video one of the ICE agents walking away with that
- 14:16Speaker 4: weapon in his hand, and then within a second after
- 14:20Speaker 4: that the ten shots ring out.
- 14:22Speaker 3: And he is shot by other isations.
- 14:24Speaker 4: So ICE, well, it doesn't matter because as far as
- 14:28Speaker 4: the administration is concerned, it was a justified shooting.
- 14:32Speaker 3: Uh.
- 14:32Speaker 4: And the NRA is going wait a minute, hold on,
- 14:35Speaker 4: that doesn't work.
- 14:36Speaker 5: So who do we get to investigate this that we
- 14:39Speaker 5: can control?
- 14:39Speaker 4: The federal agent of the federal agencies and the government
- 14:43Speaker 4: has already said that it was justified.
- 14:45Speaker 3: It was done. We're done. Yeah, hell yeah y the state. Yes,
- 14:51Speaker 3: here's the problem.
- 14:52Speaker 4: The first time around with Renee Good, the federal agents
- 14:57Speaker 4: the Department Justice would not turn over evidence to the state, refused,
- 15:02Speaker 4: and again it was a justified shooting. She was going
- 15:06Speaker 4: for the agent. When the State said, okay, let's investigate it,
- 15:08Speaker 4: the Fed said, nope, nope, We've already made our decision.
- 15:11Speaker 4: This was a justified shooting. And that's what you have.
- 15:14Speaker 4: I mean, it's gotten crazy, it really has. And if
- 15:18Speaker 4: there is a shooting under any circumstances by ICE agents,
- 15:22Speaker 4: it is always going to be justified.
- 15:24Speaker 3: Always.
- 15:26Speaker 4: The guy had a cell phone in his hand, that's
- 15:29Speaker 4: all you see. Not moving towards is waste his hands.
- 15:35Speaker 4: I mean, nod, that's.
- 15:36Speaker 3: What you see.
- 15:36Speaker 5: Think it was a justified shooting. I can't remember her name,
- 15:39Speaker 5: but the woman that was coming through the window of
- 15:42Speaker 5: the Capitol building during January sixth.
- 15:44Speaker 2: Ashley Babbitt.
- 15:46Speaker 4: Yeah, I think it's very different because she was brandishing
- 15:49Speaker 4: a weapon. She was pointing the weapon through the window
- 15:53Speaker 4: at the Capitol police. That is, I think very different
- 15:57Speaker 4: when a weapon is pointed at you. Hell, yes, under
- 16:00Speaker 4: any circumstances justified, except of course the president him said
- 16:06Speaker 4: himself said that that was a murder.
- 16:09Speaker 3: But it's very different.
- 16:11Speaker 2: Uh, it's there's comparisons to to Kyle Rittenhouse who was
- 16:15Speaker 2: at a protest literally brandishing a weapon and shooting people
- 16:19Speaker 2: and shooting people.
- 16:21Speaker 3: And he claimed he was in self defense.
- 16:22Speaker 4: He he shot people that didn't have weapons, and he
- 16:27Speaker 4: became a hero.
- 16:27Speaker 5: I think he was antagonizing. I think he came with
- 16:30Speaker 5: a weapon to.
- 16:32Speaker 2: A problem, to start to stir up stuff.
- 16:35Speaker 5: I think so Kyle, Kyle just seemed like there was
- 16:40Speaker 5: it was unnecessary to have that in that case.
- 16:43Speaker 4: Well, he was acquitted and he became he became a
- 16:48Speaker 4: hero to the Second Amendment.
- 16:50Speaker 3: Folks.
- 16:51Speaker 5: A quick uh, A quick clarification, Ashley Bought Babbitt did
- 16:57Speaker 5: not have a gun on hurt, nor did she point it.
- 17:00Speaker 3: Uh, who was the one that who was the one that.
- 17:03Speaker 5: Found a I think a pocket knife on her or something?
- 17:06Speaker 3: But she didn't.
- 17:07Speaker 4: Then I stand, I thought she had a weapon on her.
- 17:09Speaker 4: Would you please look that up? And you just did. No,
- 17:12Speaker 4: that's the case. If that's it. It confused me when
- 17:16Speaker 4: you said that. I thought I thought she did have
- 17:17Speaker 4: a gun. I thought I also went down there from
- 17:19Speaker 4: the window. I think she deserved to get shot. And
- 17:22Speaker 4: I think that January sixteen was disgusting.
- 17:25Speaker 5: I don't I don't separate that from people getting involved
- 17:29Speaker 5: with ice. I think once the protest moves close enough
- 17:33Speaker 5: to law enforcement.
- 17:35Speaker 4: I stand, corrected, correct, I thought she was branded and
- 17:39Speaker 4: would you look that up and prove a neal wrong please?
- 17:42Speaker 2: And said she she did have a pocket knife was
- 17:44Speaker 2: found during the investigation on her.
- 17:47Speaker 3: Okay, that's it, and she was shot.
- 17:49Speaker 2: And yes, but she was not wielding the pocket knife
- 17:52Speaker 2: at that time.
- 17:53Speaker 4: Then then that that I think that changes things. I
- 17:55Speaker 4: do think that changes things. She was and I think
- 17:58Speaker 4: she was breaking in.
- 18:00Speaker 5: I'm in through the window of and the officer said
- 18:03Speaker 5: stop and had a gun out.
- 18:05Speaker 4: I think she was if she was unarmed into the Capitol,
- 18:11Speaker 4: it doesn't matter if there is if the only way
- 18:15Speaker 4: that is leaf, the force is justified, whether someone is
- 18:18Speaker 4: breaking in or not, if the cop is in danger recently,
- 18:22Speaker 4: think so or other people around in danger of their
- 18:25Speaker 4: lives in the mob.
- 18:26Speaker 5: You don't think it's okay to say, hey, listen, once
- 18:28Speaker 5: one breaches, they're all coming in.
- 18:30Speaker 3: And I think, you know what I think.
- 18:31Speaker 4: I think there should have been a machine gun that
- 18:33Speaker 4: would have killed and shot everybody except Ashley Babbitt.
- 18:37Speaker 5: I had no problem with anybody and everybody in January
- 18:41Speaker 5: sixth breaching those halls getting shot.
- 18:43Speaker 4: That's why I got invent in helicopter gunships. Okay, moving on.
- 18:48Speaker 2: So, President Trump says the US used a secret weapon
- 18:53Speaker 2: to disable Venezuelan equipment when the US captured Nicholas Maduro,
- 18:58Speaker 2: and the name of the secret weapon the discombobulator.
- 19:02Speaker 4: The discombobulator invented by the same guy who invented the vegiomatic.
- 19:07Speaker 2: He said the weapon made Venezuela equipment not work. Quote
- 19:13Speaker 2: not work. He said, Uh, it's a pulse energy weapon.
- 19:16Speaker 2: But he's not allowed to talk about it.
- 19:19Speaker 3: He just talked about it.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Yeah, it's the discombobulator. Also, I love that you can't.
- 19:26Speaker 3: You can't beat that as I don't know.
- 19:28Speaker 4: It's not an acronym for everything but anything, but it's
- 19:31Speaker 4: the Oh I love it.
- 19:33Speaker 3: A discombobulator, it's a pulse weapon.
- 19:34Speaker 2: Sounds made up, it sounds like, well.
- 19:37Speaker 4: It's actually what they've been working on, pulse weapons for
- 19:39Speaker 4: a very long time.
- 19:41Speaker 5: As a fan of West Side Story, I always thought
- 19:44Speaker 5: it was not very threatening to dance prior to the
- 19:47Speaker 5: knife fight, and uh, the Iranian Iranian authorities have unveiled
- 19:54Speaker 5: something equally as silly. They feel that a mural, a
- 19:59Speaker 5: giant mural, this billboard in central Tehran Square that they
- 20:05Speaker 5: unveiled yesterday should be a direct warning to the United
- 20:08Speaker 5: States not to attempt a military strike.
- 20:11Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that's going to warn. Yeah.
- 20:15Speaker 4: Trump is going to pay attention to that one. He's
- 20:20Speaker 4: the only one who's had the balls in the last
- 20:24Speaker 4: twenty years of all of the presidents to go in
- 20:27Speaker 4: and go, Okay, you're.
- 20:29Speaker 3: Gonna do what you're gonna do. Here's what we're gonna do.
- 20:31Speaker 4: Uh.
- 20:32Speaker 3: And you have to give him immense credit for that.
- 20:35Speaker 4: And by the way, they can put up their billboards
- 20:37Speaker 4: and call the burn up American flags and America is
- 20:41Speaker 4: a satan all day long. In the meantime, if they
- 20:44Speaker 4: move forward on their nuclear program or look like they
- 20:48Speaker 4: are funding terrorists all over the world, Trump's gonna go okay,
- 20:51Speaker 4: fair enough.
- 20:53Speaker 3: Round number two. Good for him.
- 20:56Speaker 4: And I think in I run us on what Trump
- 21:00Speaker 4: did is far far less dangerous than it was before
- 21:04Speaker 4: his belaw, not nearly as powerful. Commoss tell me how
- 21:10Speaker 4: powerful it is. So anyway, Uh, these guys are, they're
- 21:14Speaker 4: the Billboard's going to do it.
- 21:16Speaker 2: About thirty one thousand nurses and healthcare workers here in
- 21:20Speaker 2: LA are expected to walk off the job this morning
- 21:22Speaker 2: in the next few minutes, about seven o'clock today. They
- 21:26Speaker 2: are walking off because of what they call unfair labor
- 21:28Speaker 2: practices at Kaiser Permanente. These are nurses, midwives, physicians, assistants,
- 21:35Speaker 2: a lot of healthcare workers.
- 21:38Speaker 4: Having just had my colonoscopy with the nurses and the
- 21:43Speaker 4: doctors there, I can't even imagine what it would.
- 21:45Speaker 3: Have looked like with no nurses in the room.
- 21:48Speaker 5: Bill I need you walked out.
- 21:50Speaker 2: I need you. Maybe they were like, bye, I need
- 21:52Speaker 2: your I need your insight and your help because I'm
- 21:54Speaker 2: having Michael anoskby on Monday, and I'm scared. I'm nervous.
- 21:58Speaker 3: No, don't be scared.
- 21:59Speaker 2: I'm very nervous.
- 22:00Speaker 3: No.
- 22:01Speaker 4: No. First of a, I'll give you one of my
- 22:02Speaker 4: coupons because I bought a coupon book. Yeah, I ten
- 22:05Speaker 4: for the probably get I got one free one buying ten.
- 22:09Speaker 3: It's going to be fun. Here's what I'm going to
- 22:11Speaker 3: suggest you doing.
- 22:13Speaker 4: I ask ask ask for propofol as this twilight sleep business. Now,
- 22:19Speaker 4: I'm not giving you medical advice, and if you die,
- 22:22Speaker 4: I don't want your family to come back to Let
- 22:24Speaker 4: me put it this way, don't ask for it. I
- 22:26Speaker 4: asked for it. I asked for propofol. Where you don't
- 22:30Speaker 4: remember and you're not twilight sleep. I've always thought, Okay,
- 22:34Speaker 4: you're there, you don't feel anything, or you feel very little,
- 22:37Speaker 4: but you're there.
- 22:39Speaker 2: And you're I don't want to know.
- 22:42Speaker 4: Then that's propofole. Then you want if if you want
- 22:45Speaker 4: to be completely asleep. And I have to be very
- 22:47Speaker 4: careful about this because this is not be giving you advice,
- 22:50Speaker 4: because there's actually a very good chance you're going to die.
- 22:56Speaker 4: Are some of the most dangerous procedures that exist in edison.
- 23:00Speaker 4: I just want to make you feel better, Okay, be
- 23:03Speaker 4: prepared to not work anymore.
- 23:05Speaker 3: Will be better here.
- 23:06Speaker 2: I would knock you out.
- 23:08Speaker 3: It's not about the straightaways corners.
- 23:11Speaker 2: I'm already nervous.
- 23:12Speaker 4: Okay, well it's it's it's worse than you think. And
- 23:15Speaker 4: by the way, there's a picture. There's a we have
- 23:18Speaker 4: a picture of colon. It's up there, and you know
- 23:24Speaker 4: what it looks like. It looks like the inside of
- 23:26Speaker 4: a Japanese paper lander. It really does. That's what your
- 23:29Speaker 4: calling looks like.
- 23:30Speaker 3: Oh okay, we.
- 23:31Speaker 4: Continue on with handle on the news with Heather and
- 23:36Speaker 4: Neil and me, and the next story's rams are not
- 23:40Speaker 4: going to go. Okay, we're done with that. Let's move
- 23:42Speaker 4: on to the next one. Oh, by the way, back
- 23:44Speaker 4: to the colon oscoy. Because Heather is scared to death
- 23:47Speaker 4: about this, I want to share with you an ancillary
- 23:50Speaker 4: story to that. Steve Gregory, who is one of my
- 23:53Speaker 4: favorite people who used to be a newsperson here on KFI,
- 23:57Speaker 4: went down to the border with a border patrol many
- 24:01Speaker 4: years ago, and the first time I ever had him
- 24:03Speaker 4: on the air, it was regarding a story that he
- 24:07Speaker 4: did when he was broadcasting from the border. And he's
- 24:11Speaker 4: south of the border, he's in the Tijuana area, and
- 24:14Speaker 4: he is actually looking at a group of illegal migrants
- 24:20Speaker 4: crossing through a culvert into the United States. And the
- 24:24Speaker 4: last person in was a woman who as she was
- 24:28Speaker 4: as she was moving into the culvert, literally pulled down
- 24:32Speaker 4: her pants and mooned Steve, and I mean spread her
- 24:37Speaker 4: cheeks as she was mooning Steve. And of course the
- 24:42Speaker 4: first thing I said was, so, Steve, you were looking
- 24:45Speaker 4: for you were looking at a map of downtown Bay Route.
- 24:48Speaker 4: Now he was just silent. I being done, complete silence.
- 24:55Speaker 4: I don't thought I'd share that story that well, yet
- 24:58Speaker 4: no he did. That was the first thing that we
- 25:00Speaker 4: had ever talked about.
- 25:01Speaker 2: Okay, and then you know us, We're best friends from
- 25:03Speaker 2: that moment on.
- 25:05Speaker 4: Okay, got so all right? So Neil real quickly other
- 25:09Speaker 4: than who the rams are out?
- 25:11Speaker 3: That's all anybody cares about. Moving on. Rabbit bats, all right.
- 25:15Speaker 2: We had a rabbit bat in Orange County and health
- 25:17Speaker 2: officials are like, be careful, don't touch the bat. And
- 25:20Speaker 2: if anybody touched this bat that was found in O'Neill
- 25:22Speaker 2: Regional Park in Rancho Santa Margarita, let them know or
- 25:27Speaker 2: go get some help. It was found. You know, it
- 25:30Speaker 2: has rabies. And that's dangerous, so be careful.
- 25:33Speaker 4: Yeah, no, kidding is dangerous. Although if you treat rabies
- 25:37Speaker 4: early on, it's very easy. You know, it's antibiotics. If
- 25:40Speaker 4: you let it go into the secondary stage or the
- 25:43Speaker 4: tertiary stage, you're dead.
- 25:45Speaker 3: It is not fine. Oh, the wildlife.
- 25:48Speaker 5: Crossing, the Annaburg Wildlife Crossing is on track. We had
- 25:53Speaker 5: heard different stories. If you haven't seen it, it's quite beautiful.
- 25:55Speaker 5: They're doing a lovely job. This is you know, the
- 25:59Speaker 5: three hundred thousand drivers that go back and forth there
- 26:03Speaker 5: and a Gura hills on the one to one freeway
- 26:05Speaker 5: every day. It may not look changed to you from
- 26:09Speaker 5: your perspective down below since the summer, but on top,
- 26:15Speaker 5: if you've seen the aerial footage of it, they've got
- 26:17Speaker 5: these gorgeous plants and shrubs growing along the outer walls
- 26:21Speaker 5: and things like that, and it is it has been
- 26:25Speaker 5: a project moving power lines utilities underground. I mean big
- 26:31Speaker 5: bucks to do this, but hopefully it's going to protect
- 26:34Speaker 5: the wildlife going back.
- 26:35Speaker 3: It is the largest wildlife crossing in the world.
- 26:39Speaker 4: And because it is a conservancy on one side and
- 26:43Speaker 4: then the freeway, so you have animals being hit on
- 26:46Speaker 4: the freeway and mountain lions for example, particularly being hit
- 26:50Speaker 4: which and there's so few of them, so this wildlife crossing.
- 26:53Speaker 4: Animals will go across that in the Gura Hills from
- 26:58Speaker 4: one area to the other.
- 27:00Speaker 5: And it deals with mating too, right, they were inbreeding.
- 27:03Speaker 4: All of yes, all of that, so it get wide
- 27:06Speaker 4: open as the animals cross.
- 27:08Speaker 3: Thank goodness. There's also an area, a little area for
- 27:10Speaker 3: hunters that there's no no, no, did I misread that?
- 27:15Speaker 3: Oh built a little tower? Oh yeah, correct, a little
- 27:19Speaker 3: blind Okay, geez.
- 27:21Speaker 2: All right, So have you guys noticed it's kind of slow.
- 27:24Speaker 2: We're at that time of year with starting to get
- 27:26Speaker 2: a little bit lighter in the evening, like it's not
- 27:28Speaker 2: pitch black at five thirty anymore. That's because we're getting
- 27:31Speaker 2: closer to daylight savings. This year, it's going to be
- 27:35Speaker 2: the earliest possible day that it's ever been, and it's
- 27:38Speaker 2: going to be on March eighth. We're going to set
- 27:41Speaker 2: our clocks ahead an hour.
- 27:43Speaker 4: And the move to make it permanent makes a lot
- 27:45Speaker 4: of sense when we go into standard time. As winter approaches, man,
- 27:50Speaker 4: the depression hits it really does. I mean, oh, come on, now,
- 27:54Speaker 4: it's dark early and if you're suicidal, you really get
- 27:58Speaker 4: you stay off of parking strike because it's just too much.
- 28:03Speaker 3: I get depressed. I hate dusk.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Anyway, with the seasonal depression.
- 28:08Speaker 3: Yeah, I do well every morning.
- 28:10Speaker 5: I get depressed when I go over to your house
- 28:11Speaker 5: and change all your clocks. Yeah, exactly, all right, speaking
- 28:17Speaker 5: of clocks, TikTok, TikTok, TikTok, punny TikTok had some problems yesterday.
- 28:26Speaker 5: They a lot of people weren't able to sign into
- 28:29Speaker 5: their accounts. There was lag and some things like that.
- 28:32Speaker 5: Not able to repost videos. Oh my god, what will
- 28:35Speaker 5: people be? What can they do? So it peaked shortly
- 28:40Speaker 5: after four am on Sunday, over thirty six thousand reports
- 28:45Speaker 5: according to down Detector. And if you've not been on
- 28:47Speaker 5: down Detector, that'll lets you know if, like any of
- 28:50Speaker 5: the social media purveyors are more con or down or
- 28:56Speaker 5: having problems. So this comes after we learned the January
- 29:00Speaker 5: twenty second deal that Bite Dance, the parent company of TikTok,
- 29:06Speaker 5: was finaling that US deal so they could stay in
- 29:10Speaker 5: the US.
- 29:11Speaker 4: Okay, one more and then we're finished with the news hour.
- 29:16Speaker 2: So crowds are have gathered in China. Are at Japan
- 29:21Speaker 2: actually to say goodbye to two pandas. They are going
- 29:24Speaker 2: to be returning to China, the twin cubs, Jaujou and Laile.
- 29:30Speaker 2: We'll leave Tokyo's zoo Tuesday after meeting their fans for
- 29:33Speaker 2: the last time. Goodbye little pandas by Jejo Joujo.
- 29:39Speaker 4: And they always have these contests to name them. You know,
- 29:43Speaker 4: I put in Chao main as one and it didn't
- 29:47Speaker 4: didn't work. Hey, just a quick word. And this is
- 29:50Speaker 4: not for everybody. I understand that I'm being Si Shehi here,
- 29:55Speaker 4: but people wait hours and hours and hours at zoo's
- 29:59Speaker 4: all of the world to see pandas. If you go
- 30:02Speaker 4: to if you go to China, the Beijing Zoo, they
- 30:05Speaker 4: have an enclosure where you look down and it's a
- 30:08Speaker 4: panda convention where they're running, it's a panda And for
- 30:14Speaker 4: those of you that I want to spend hours and
- 30:16Speaker 4: hours looking at a panda. Also, they're vicious little bossars.
- 30:22Speaker 4: They look cute, no tell yeah, yeah, they are.
- 30:26Speaker 5: The most hilarious animals on the planet.
- 30:28Speaker 3: And you watch them Darley.
- 30:30Speaker 5: Galling and tripping and it's like watching you handle.
- 30:33Speaker 4: Yeah, it's like a barrel of pandas no I understand that. Okay,
- 30:37Speaker 4: we're done. Guys kfi A M six point forty.
- 30:42Speaker 3: You've been listening to The Bill Handle Show.
- 30:44Speaker 4: Catch My Show Monday through Friday six am to nine am,
- 30:47Speaker 4: and anytime on demand on the iHeartRadio app
