- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, we'll take some calls. 800-321-0710 is the number. 800-321-0710.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Let's go to Mike in Florida. Mike, how are you doing?
- 0:12Speaker 2: Good morning, Mark.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Yes, Mike.
- 0:14Speaker 2: I remember when you could only get an AM radio,
- 0:17Speaker 2: and you'd have to get an FM converter and keep
- 0:21Speaker 2: it in your glove compartment and wire it up and
- 0:23Speaker 2: get FM. I mean, that was like... My 65 Volkswagen,
- 0:27Speaker 2: my 65 Tempest, my 65 Corvair had that same FM adapter.
- 0:33Speaker 2: It was great.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Yeah, but I'm trying to remember back in the 90s
- 0:37Speaker 1: when there were no... Some people had cell phones. Let's
- 0:41Speaker 1: say the late 80s, you had no cell phones. When
- 0:43Speaker 1: you were driving, what the hell did you do? Who
- 0:45Speaker 1: did you talk to? You couldn't talk to anybody.
- 0:47Speaker 2: That's true. I can't imagine... driving without any kind of
- 0:52Speaker 2: radio at all. It's impossible. I mean, my whole life
- 0:55Speaker 2: has been spent listening to the radio as I drive.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Well, you always had a radio, but when you didn't
- 0:59Speaker 1: have a phone and you couldn't call anybody on a
- 1:01Speaker 1: long drive, what the hell? You just listen to the radio.
- 1:04Speaker 2: It's so monotonous. Can you imagine? You've got to actually
- 1:06Speaker 2: pay attention to the road.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Wow.
- 1:10Speaker 2: But I wanted to point something out about answering the subpoena.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Only Republicans seem to answer the subpoenas. If you're Eric Holder,
- 1:17Speaker 2: you just ignore it, you know?
- 1:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:18Speaker 2: So.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Yeah, a lot of Democrats have defied those congressional subpoenas.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Eric Holder was the Attorney General, Janet Reno, plenty of them,
- 1:26Speaker 1: and nothing ever happens.
- 1:28Speaker 2: And the other thing is, have you ever noticed how
- 1:31Speaker 2: regressive progressives are? You know, how they're all against progress.
- 1:35Speaker 2: This data center AI thing is the most recent one
- 1:41Speaker 2: of their shenanigans, you know, about denying progress. It's a
- 1:45Speaker 2: pretty impressive way to exist.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Well... In this case, they're not really denying progress. They
- 1:51Speaker 1: just need to replace things. You know, they had the
- 1:53Speaker 1: nuclear plants. That was the one thing they would scare
- 1:55Speaker 1: you with. Nuclear plants. Well, now the data centers, these
- 1:57Speaker 1: are the new nuclear plants.
- 2:00Speaker 2: And Y2K, 25 years ago, it was Y2K. The world
- 2:04Speaker 2: was going to come to an end.
- 2:05Speaker 1: That wasn't just Democrats. There were a lot of people.
- 2:07Speaker 1: That's a good example of people thinking AI is going
- 2:10Speaker 1: to kill us all. It was believed Y2K would kill
- 2:12Speaker 1: us all that. Right. That's a good point.
- 2:15Speaker 2: We're going to drop out of the sky. Yeah.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Good point, Mike. Thanks for calling. Yeah. Just for you, uh,
- 2:20Speaker 1: people wondering about this AI stuff in the year 1998
- 2:23Speaker 1: and then 99, uh, we had gone, uh, online. We
- 2:29Speaker 1: were digital. We were Google. Uh, was there, no, there
- 2:32Speaker 1: wasn't a Google yet, but there was all, we're all
- 2:34Speaker 1: online in AOL chat rooms and that sort of stuff. But, uh,
- 2:39Speaker 1: When the year 2000 happened, I don't remember exactly how
- 2:42Speaker 1: they came up with this, but they thought it was
- 2:44Speaker 1: called Y2K, that everything would collapse, all of society, the
- 2:50Speaker 1: whole internet would collapse. Something about switching to the next century,
- 2:55Speaker 1: that the computers, the digital, nothing would be able to
- 2:57Speaker 1: keep up with it, and that airplanes would literally fall
- 3:00Speaker 1: out of the sky because the computer would lose control.
- 3:02Speaker 1: It was a big thing. Go look it up. Y2K, 2020.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Six years ago, Y2K, everybody was terrified. They were terrified
- 3:09Speaker 1: to leave their house the next day. Y2K is going
- 3:11Speaker 1: to kill us all. So same thing going on today. Yeah,
- 3:16Speaker 1: you know, if you got in the time capsule and
- 3:19Speaker 1: you went back to 1993, they had cell phones, but
- 3:23Speaker 1: you couldn't really use it in the car. And it
- 3:25Speaker 1: was a big bulky thing. And you could only make
- 3:29Speaker 1: a call. You didn't really use it that much. You
- 3:31Speaker 1: could barely hear anything on them. So It was a
- 3:34Speaker 1: different world. You know, if you go to the doctor
- 3:37Speaker 1: and even they got an appointment, they make you wait.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Sometimes you sit in that waiting room for 30 minutes.
- 3:41Speaker 1: You know, you get so mad. You keep going up
- 3:43Speaker 1: the desk. Now, you don't care if they make you wait.
- 3:47Speaker 1: I got my phone. I'm watching movies. I'm on YouTube.
- 3:49Speaker 1: I'm reading something. I'm on Instagram. In fact, when they
- 3:53Speaker 1: call you, it's finally your turn. Now you get mad. Wait,
- 3:57Speaker 1: I was just watching something. I got to turn it off.
- 3:59Speaker 1: So it's the same thing at the airport. You know,
- 4:01Speaker 1: that's where they can keep you waiting forever. You got
- 4:03Speaker 1: your phone. You don't mind waiting. You got a million
- 4:05Speaker 1: things to look at, read, watch. So, hey, Nick Reiner,
- 4:10Speaker 1: son of Rob Reiner. We haven't heard about him in
- 4:12Speaker 1: a while. He was in court yesterday. Do you know
- 4:14Speaker 1: it's one year? Almost one year. December will be one year.
- 4:17Speaker 1: So it's like 10 months. It's a long time ago.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Nick Reiner, who murdered his parents, Rob Reiner, Michelle Reiner,
- 4:26Speaker 1: appeared in court. Looked a little different. He had a
- 4:28Speaker 1: little bit of a facial stubble, a little bit of
- 4:30Speaker 1: a beard. his short hair growing long. This is not
- 4:37Speaker 1: a good look for a crazed killer, the beard and
- 4:39Speaker 1: the long hair. You might want to tone that down
- 4:41Speaker 1: if you're going into court. But he was strangely calm,
- 4:46Speaker 1: totally emotionless. Clearly, he's just completely nuts. I mean, total
- 4:52Speaker 1: mental disorder in this kid for most of his life.
- 4:56Speaker 1: But all this time, I think he's in solitary confinement.
- 4:59Speaker 1: It's just made him just like numb, They said he
- 5:02Speaker 1: was eerily calm, wore a brown jail uniform, sat there
- 5:07Speaker 1: totally emotionless, did speak to the judge. He'll remain in
- 5:12Speaker 1: prison forever. The family, believe it or not, the brothers
- 5:15Speaker 1: and sisters, have gone in and argued on his behalf.
- 5:19Speaker 1: And it's believed that they may have gotten the death
- 5:22Speaker 1: penalty off the table, that it would just be life
- 5:25Speaker 1: in prison. So despite everything that's happened, the brothers and
- 5:27Speaker 1: sisters fighting to get rid of the death penalty. But
- 5:32Speaker 1: one of the strangest stories ever in Hollywood. Hey, we
- 5:35Speaker 1: got a lot coming up today. And don't forget, I'm
- 5:39Speaker 1: here three hours every day, nine to noon. Nine to
- 5:42Speaker 1: noon every day. And then at noon, we got the
- 5:45Speaker 1: biggest lineup here. The biggest names in talk radio are here.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Coming up at noon, Buck Sexton, Clay Travis. That's a
- 5:51Speaker 1: huge show now. They got up to 10 million listeners.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Then at three, the biggest name in talk radio and
- 5:58Speaker 1: the most listened to, Radio show in America, Sean Hannity
- 6:02Speaker 1: at 3. You got Jesse Kelly at 6. 9 o'clock,
- 6:05Speaker 1: you got the great and very funny Jimmy Fallon. Every night,
- 6:09Speaker 1: 9 to midnight, it's all here on 710WOR.
