- 0:35Speaker 2: Wow eggs. Yeah, though with a surprise surprise eggs.
- 0:39Speaker 3: Those are cool.
- 0:40Speaker 2: So we're gonna open some packages in a minute, our
- 0:42Speaker 2: version of surprise eggs. But it should be sports memorabilia.
- 0:45Speaker 2: And I have like one so much. I don't even
- 0:46Speaker 2: know what is in the boxes. We'll all find out together.
- 0:49Speaker 4: I don't even know what you guys are talking about
- 0:50Speaker 4: these eggs.
- 0:52Speaker 2: You don't have kids, and neither do I.
- 0:54Speaker 3: But I've showed you the videos because I had.
- 0:56Speaker 2: I definitely don't watch them when I'm alone, going I
- 0:58Speaker 2: wonder what's in that one attractor?
- 0:59Speaker 3: And we were all on the road once and I
- 1:00Speaker 3: brought home an egg for my kid and like it
- 1:03Speaker 3: freak he freaked out.
- 1:04Speaker 2: It was so cool to Draft Kings. Check it out
- 1:06Speaker 2: the coaches Bobby sports life more fun when you're in
- 1:08Speaker 2: on the action Draft Kings. The crown is yours. Gambling
- 1:10Speaker 2: problem called one hundred gambler age and eligibility restrictions apply.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Void were prohibited. See DraftKings dot com for details. I
- 1:17Speaker 2: did before we started because we have a bunch of balls.
- 1:19Speaker 2: We're going to sign these basketballs and basketballs that we're
- 1:21Speaker 2: going to give out for our too much access show
- 1:24Speaker 2: for people to comment in the section. So I have
- 1:26Speaker 2: all these basketballs, but this I was going to show
- 1:27Speaker 2: you guys in my big git. It's a Larry Bird
- 1:29Speaker 2: signed basketball. Who sit down, Kevin, Yeah, it's real and
- 1:35Speaker 2: so uh this is my big git so far. It
- 1:39Speaker 2: was my big game that with two hands.
- 1:41Speaker 3: What are you doing?
- 1:42Speaker 2: Well, I'm holding it with one hands.
- 1:44Speaker 3: If you drop it and it lands on the autographic
- 1:46Speaker 3: could damage.
- 1:46Speaker 2: It, that's true. But I'll say he shot with it.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Okay, you can do that.
- 1:50Speaker 2: So when we open a lot of this sports memorabilia
- 1:52Speaker 2: that I've won, I mean I paid for a shot
- 1:56Speaker 2: to win it, then you win it, and then sometimes
- 1:57Speaker 2: you pay and you don't win crap. So in the end.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Who knows, But this is a Larry Bird signed basketball,
- 2:02Speaker 2: which I think it's pretty freaking cool.
- 2:05Speaker 3: That is amazing.
- 2:05Speaker 2: That's my big get. It was, it was, it was
- 2:09Speaker 2: until you it was I'm gonna hold, I'm gonna hold.
- 2:12Speaker 3: It was, Oh my gosh, you got something big.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Because that's awesome. A Larry Bird signed basketball. Amazing. Yes,
- 2:17Speaker 2: we'll get to that in a second. First, so Lucky,
- 2:19Speaker 2: let's know, I'm not I had to pay money, Lucky,
- 2:22Speaker 2: let's do the tittle tattlet the tittle tattle.
- 2:34Speaker 4: After opting out of the NCAA football game, do you
- 2:36Speaker 4: think arch Manning not being the starter is the main reason?
- 2:39Speaker 2: It's a great question. I did see that. You know,
- 2:42Speaker 2: there were i'm gonna make up a number sixty thousand
- 2:44Speaker 2: people that said yes, and ten thousand people that said
- 2:46Speaker 2: now I'm gonna opt out. And if you got in
- 2:49Speaker 2: the game, they gave you like six hundred bucks and
- 2:51Speaker 2: a copy of the game. And I did say, I
- 2:54Speaker 2: did see where Manning said. Arch Manning said, I want
- 2:58Speaker 2: to focus on football and not worry. You don't have
- 3:00Speaker 2: to know, you don't have to play as a character.
- 3:02Speaker 3: He's sign a paper, You're done.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Yeah, does he think he has to beat the character,
- 3:05Speaker 2: like he has to like live crap John's online, he
- 3:07Speaker 2: push start, I gotta get.
- 3:08Speaker 3: Up, question though, legit question though? Do you have to
- 3:11Speaker 3: like show up and have all those things all over
- 3:13Speaker 3: and act like you're the one throwing the ball?
- 3:15Speaker 2: Okay, they will take a few people, and they'll even
- 3:18Speaker 2: have people mimic what certain people's throw looks like. They'll
- 3:22Speaker 2: have universal like running quarterback, run and shoot quarterback. So
- 3:29Speaker 2: basketball does it too, where they have people impersonate Yannis
- 3:33Speaker 2: with the balls.
- 3:33Speaker 3: Because in two K you can pick like yann Is dunk.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Yes, and that's not Yannis going up to do all
- 3:37Speaker 2: the dunk I thought it was. They can also grab
- 3:40Speaker 2: footage though, and mimic it a bit with Ai as well,
- 3:42Speaker 2: like see footage of him.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Yeah, but to your point, Arch isn't gonna do anything.
- 3:47Speaker 2: He doesn't have to do anything. I get that the
- 3:52Speaker 2: Manning brand is big. I don't even think it's so
- 3:55Speaker 2: much about that. If I'm just guessing, I would say
- 3:58Speaker 2: that it's a bit if you play with Arch over
- 4:02Speaker 2: yours and that becomes a video game thing that people
- 4:05Speaker 2: are screaming about. Arch is actually better than you. It
- 4:07Speaker 2: just complicates and body that because that's already gonna be weird.
- 4:11Speaker 2: He's gonna be a sophomore. You were stayed another year.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Two years, Manning will be a Texas and hasn't started.
- 4:17Speaker 2: So I would think it's a bit about that because
- 4:20Speaker 2: all the Manning dudes they were in the game. Now
- 4:24Speaker 2: that's NFLPA and they didn't have to negotiate separately with Madden.
- 4:29Speaker 2: But they know you don't have to play like Eli
- 4:31Speaker 2: and Payton any Manning that's ever been in a video game. No,
- 4:34Speaker 2: you don't have to actually play the game like yourself
- 4:36Speaker 2: infut pads on and run around while somebody's playing their franchise.
- 4:41Speaker 2: So there's no reason for him to not be able
- 4:43Speaker 2: to focus on football.
- 4:43Speaker 4: You need to find out if the third string is
- 4:45Speaker 4: he going to be in it, because then what if
- 4:47Speaker 4: you play him over?
- 4:48Speaker 2: But they won't. I think they may make arch Like
- 4:51Speaker 2: a better quarterback because people would want to use them.
- 4:54Speaker 2: I think it would just create a little in house
- 4:57Speaker 2: controversy that they probably wanted to avoid. Yeah, you can
- 5:00Speaker 2: make anybody better. You get him as a sixty four
- 5:02Speaker 2: and someone's in eighty one. You build that sixty four up.
- 5:05Speaker 2: You only get four years with him.
- 5:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I didn't one of our buddies have an Eddie
- 5:07Speaker 3: Garcia in there.
- 5:08Speaker 2: No, he just changed his name.
- 5:09Speaker 4: Okay, it's like a kicker.
- 5:10Speaker 3: It was like Eddie Garcia from Sampions State, did know.
- 5:12Speaker 2: I whatever you want, But if you're changing stuff, that's
- 5:15Speaker 2: different because you can go and manipulate anything. Yeah, I
- 5:20Speaker 2: can make him seven foot tall.
- 5:22Speaker 3: Have we seen arch though? Is he good?
- 5:24Speaker 2: Like he played a little bit last year? But what
- 5:26Speaker 2: have we seen?
- 5:27Speaker 5: Uh?
- 5:28Speaker 3: Not enough?
- 5:29Speaker 4: I do remember at NCAA, you go back to high
- 5:30Speaker 4: school and you make this guy like six two to
- 5:33Speaker 4: forty is a running back with a visor and all
- 5:34Speaker 4: that same thing, right.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Ish Like in NBA two k you can get a
- 5:40Speaker 2: dude and you play with him in high school, get recruited,
- 5:42Speaker 2: pick the school you're gonna go to. But we don't
- 5:44Speaker 2: only know what Madden or excuse me, what college football
- 5:47Speaker 2: is going to do. I'm super excited about it, Like
- 5:49Speaker 2: I'm I'm playing on playing mad in hardcore until July
- 5:52Speaker 2: and when it comes out, and then taking Arkansas to
- 5:54Speaker 2: tend me ten years to build him back to good.
- 5:56Speaker 4: So I don't have any consoles. If you guys get
- 5:58Speaker 4: the game, I gotta come over and play. I love
- 5:59Speaker 4: it that game.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Then you should just get the console just for one game. Yes,
- 6:03Speaker 2: I literally play two games. I play Madden basically, that's
- 6:06Speaker 2: all I play. And we have an NBA two K
- 6:08Speaker 2: League that I played that a little bit, but that's it.
- 6:10Speaker 3: I had my console for what four years? I've played
- 6:12Speaker 3: Call of Duty. I played that for six months, never
- 6:14Speaker 3: played it again. And all I play is two K.
- 6:16Speaker 3: That's it. That's it.
- 6:17Speaker 2: It's worth it if you play it. And we don't
- 6:19Speaker 2: get online with like kids and headsets and you know,
- 6:23Speaker 2: just randomly getting rooms. We only play with each other.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Oh well that's all well, I said, sure, yeah, all right,
- 6:28Speaker 2: next up?
- 6:28Speaker 4: All right, with a lot of speculation of Cousins going
- 6:30Speaker 4: to Atlanta, where would you rank the Falcons in their division?
- 6:33Speaker 2: If they get them number one? I think they're the
- 6:35Speaker 2: favorite of Cousins. Goes especially, he looks great when youre
- 6:37Speaker 2: watching him throwing the tennis court, when he's running around
- 6:39Speaker 2: throwing those balls on the on the hard court, he
- 6:41Speaker 2: looks good. What do I know about his injury, but
- 6:44Speaker 2: he's expected to be ready to go when the season
- 6:48Speaker 2: season starts. They may hold him out a bit of preseason,
- 6:51Speaker 2: but they hold everybody out of preseason. Now, I do
- 6:53Speaker 2: think that they're the favorite with the Bucks. Second, you know,
- 6:59Speaker 2: Baker coming back. Mike Evans signed a new two years Baker. Now,
- 7:03Speaker 2: I'm big Baker guy. It's a big Baker shop, Baker show.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Are you're asking me now what Vegas is gonna do?
- 7:08Speaker 2: But me, I'm probably going Bakers. Yeah, big Baker. But however,
- 7:12Speaker 2: I think they'll be the favorite. I think the Falcon
- 7:14Speaker 2: because the Falcons, their offense is going to be insane
- 7:18Speaker 2: if they get a quarterback. I mean maybe one day
- 7:20Speaker 2: Pitts is actually good because somebod can get them the ball. Yeah,
- 7:23Speaker 2: and everybody that drafts him every single year in fantasy
- 7:26Speaker 2: and like this is the year Pits does great. Maybe
- 7:27Speaker 2: they won't want.
- 7:28Speaker 4: To Yeah, those like dynasty leagues. Finally, four years later
- 7:30Speaker 4: and paid off Man.
- 7:31Speaker 2: The big rumor was that he was considering moving his
- 7:35Speaker 2: family from Minnesota to Atlanta, that they were looking at houses.
- 7:42Speaker 2: That doesn't happen a lot in the NFL. Where that
- 7:43Speaker 2: rumor comes out happens a lot with college coaches. Nick
- 7:46Speaker 2: Sabn was down the road looking at a house that
- 7:48Speaker 2: happens in like seven college cities at once every year.
- 7:51Speaker 2: I do think, and it was from Pro Football Talk,
- 7:53Speaker 2: I do think this is there's probably civilidity to this.
- 7:57Speaker 2: But Kirk Cousins is good. He's a solid B plus
- 7:59Speaker 2: quarter back. Thirty fifty eight, it feels like it's fifty eight.
- 8:05Speaker 2: But also the the Commanders are talking about maybe getting
- 8:09Speaker 2: Cousins back as well.
- 8:09Speaker 3: You need a QB.
- 8:11Speaker 2: It's just a lot more than that. Yeah, they also
- 8:14Speaker 2: have an early draft pick too, so if they don't
- 8:16Speaker 2: take you know, Drake may or Jane Daniels, they can
- 8:20Speaker 2: get Marvin Harrison to have Terry McLaurin.
- 8:23Speaker 3: You know.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Yeah, they have a lot of cap room, have a
- 8:27Speaker 2: lot of cap room. New coach Cliff's the offensive coordinator there,
- 8:31Speaker 2: not from Cheers.
- 8:31Speaker 3: Cliff Kingsbury. Oh I did not, So yeah, I'm gonna
- 8:35Speaker 3: go with from Cheers the Mailman.
- 8:37Speaker 2: But hey, I'm gonna go with the Landa will be
- 8:39Speaker 2: the favorite, all right?
- 8:40Speaker 4: Next one, all right, going to the NBA. Here the
- 8:42Speaker 4: top four team separated by three games in the West.
- 8:44Speaker 4: Who do you see finishing on top?
- 8:47Speaker 2: I see Denver still finishing as the one seed. And
- 8:50Speaker 2: if they don't finish as the one seed, they probably
- 8:52Speaker 2: still win the West. They're awesome. If I ever I'm
- 8:56Speaker 2: watching NBA Sunday tickets, which which I have, and some
- 9:03Speaker 2: nights I'll just flip. I watch a decent amount of
- 9:05Speaker 2: okay see games. Yeah, and I would watch it before
- 9:08Speaker 2: they even got fun and good because my wife's team.
- 9:10Speaker 2: And so I have a friend that plays over there.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Now i'd say a buddy more than a buddy, less
- 9:14Speaker 2: than a friend. Jalen Jalen Williams number two for Arkansas. Yeah,
- 9:18Speaker 2: so I do watch that. But anytime I watch Yo,
- 9:20Speaker 2: he's it's like next level. It's like dude playing a
- 9:25Speaker 2: strategy game out there.
- 9:26Speaker 3: My wife, my wife walked up while we're watching a
- 9:28Speaker 3: Denver game and she goes, who is that dude? Like
- 9:31Speaker 3: lucky to be in the league, right.
- 9:32Speaker 2: And I'm like, no, it's like somebody from the Why
- 9:34Speaker 2: that got a free pass to come over and play.
- 9:36Speaker 3: My son was like, Mom, he's amazing. He's like one
- 9:39Speaker 3: of the he is the best player easy.
- 9:41Speaker 2: Yeah. And there are nights where he may shoot the
- 9:44Speaker 2: ball four times. Yeah, he doesn't have the need to
- 9:46Speaker 2: put up twenty five. He may go you know they're
- 9:49Speaker 2: playing me this way, I'll take fourteen assists tonight and
- 9:51Speaker 2: six points. Totally, it's a whole different type of game
- 9:54Speaker 2: in that it's him looking out for the team. He
- 9:57Speaker 2: wants the team to win. But they're good, I still say.
- 10:00Speaker 2: And then they're in a third right now, and they
- 10:03Speaker 2: have the second easiest schedule remaining. I think Denver probably
- 10:07Speaker 2: wins it all again. Denver Boston would probably be my
- 10:11Speaker 2: pick if I had to pick for the finals.
- 10:13Speaker 3: Boston's looking strong man the Clippers.
- 10:15Speaker 2: If they can stay healthy, they've been really good, but
- 10:18Speaker 2: I would go Denver's probably going to be the team
- 10:21Speaker 2: I see finishing on top with the t Wolves in
- 10:23Speaker 2: Oklahoma City. They're both so young and the t Wolves
- 10:27Speaker 2: are a little older, but they haven't done it other
- 10:30Speaker 2: than that. Playing game well, my favorite player, Pat Bev
- 10:32Speaker 2: jumped up on the table. That was awesome, and they
- 10:33Speaker 2: won the chance they were the playing game championships of
- 10:38Speaker 2: the world. Other than that, they don't have a lot
- 10:41Speaker 2: of experience with this team of winning in the playoffs.
- 10:43Speaker 2: So I would go Denver one, Clippers to Clippers and
- 10:48Speaker 2: Timberwolves in there in that round two and Oklahoma City
- 10:50Speaker 2: going in at four. So but okay, so he's really
- 10:53Speaker 2: good Yeah, they are really good. And Chet has played
- 10:55Speaker 2: every game this year after being injured the whole season.
- 10:58Speaker 2: I don't think he's missed a single game this year's
- 11:01Speaker 2: and he's nine foot tall.
- 11:02Speaker 3: Yeah, it's gigantic.
- 11:03Speaker 2: It's like a guy running on still especially gonna break something.
- 11:05Speaker 3: Although I keep betting that he's gonna get over the
- 11:07Speaker 3: rebounds whatever the number is, and he never gets over
- 11:09Speaker 3: the rebounds or what's the number, it's changes nine, eight, seven.
- 11:12Speaker 2: He never gets the over.
- 11:13Speaker 3: No, because the under he'll play the outside for most
- 11:16Speaker 3: of the game. I'm like, oh, nobody.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Told me that.
- 11:19Speaker 4: Right next question, I lost one, winning eleven of the
- 11:21Speaker 4: past twelve games. Do you think the Celtics are peaking
- 11:24Speaker 4: too early?
- 11:25Speaker 2: I don't. They're a veteran team with they've been there,
- 11:29Speaker 2: a core group and also veterans that aren't in that
- 11:32Speaker 2: core group that have been there, so you know, obviously
- 11:35Speaker 2: they got their two money men. Brown. Do you think
- 11:39Speaker 2: who would you have if you had to start the
- 11:40Speaker 2: team over? What's who's the one player you would you
- 11:43Speaker 2: would want? Tatum? Is it easily Tatum over over Jalen? Yeah? Okay, yeah,
- 11:47Speaker 2: me too. Probably some people love Jalen Brown even though
- 11:49Speaker 2: he has one.
- 11:50Speaker 3: Hand exactly what's his one hand?
- 11:52Speaker 6: The leyo?
- 11:52Speaker 2: No, he can't really dribble his lef hand. Oh he
- 11:54Speaker 2: can better than that.
- 11:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Yeah, but porzingis stud stud and a few he stays
- 12:00Speaker 2: healthy but again always injured at least in the past,
- 12:03Speaker 2: but not part of that core group. And then they
- 12:06Speaker 2: have arguably one of the best defensive players in the league.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Two.
- 12:09Speaker 3: Who is Eddie the defensive?
- 12:11Speaker 2: Oh?
- 12:11Speaker 3: Al Horford? Dude? For sure?
- 12:12Speaker 2: Now who is it? Who do you think Portland? M
- 12:20Speaker 2: that's in your knowledge?
- 12:20Speaker 3: Here? Come on, keep going?
- 12:22Speaker 2: Where else where else do you play? The Bucks?
- 12:27Speaker 4: You're talking about?
- 12:28Speaker 2: Who are you talking about?
- 12:30Speaker 3: Yeah? Kevin? Who are you talking about?
- 12:31Speaker 2: Who you're talking about?
- 12:32Speaker 3: The y and to the UE you? Oh yeah, yeah?
- 12:43Speaker 2: But ye was he and Derek White?
- 12:45Speaker 4: Even Derek White he walks a game and as a guard.
- 12:49Speaker 2: So I think that team, that overall team, that that's
- 12:52Speaker 2: that's six guys that are awesome. Yeah, and you have
- 12:56Speaker 2: the guys that have been there getting close. I don't
- 13:00Speaker 2: think they can peak to early because I think that
- 13:01Speaker 2: the veteran leadership and I think they also have But
- 13:05Speaker 2: even like Drew's not a rookie, he.
- 13:08Speaker 4: Has won he'ship with the Bucks.
- 13:11Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah he has.
- 13:12Speaker 2: He hasn't one with Boston. But wasn't he in for
- 13:14Speaker 2: wasn't he in like Portland for a in that trade? Exactly?
- 13:16Speaker 4: It came from Portland when exactly Yeah, when they got Dame.
- 13:19Speaker 4: The Bucks got dam in Portland in two days and
- 13:21Speaker 4: then he came.
- 13:22Speaker 2: To the Trick He guys, tricks. I came from Portland technically, yeah,
- 13:25Speaker 2: because he did come.
- 13:26Speaker 3: Kevin, are you upset that they're continue to play Porzingis
- 13:28Speaker 3: even though he know he's not one hundred percent.
- 13:31Speaker 4: No, they sat him a couple of games ago on
- 13:32Speaker 4: Sunday and then they still beat the Warriors by fifty
- 13:35Speaker 4: that Warriors game. But yeah, like low Key would be like,
- 13:38Speaker 4: all right, just sit him the rest of the season.
- 13:39Speaker 4: Who you know, like just keep him for the playoffs.
- 13:41Speaker 2: He is so good Porzingis. Yeah, yeah, we watched off way.
- 13:45Speaker 2: He's so he's tall, He's like it almost feels like
- 13:49Speaker 2: he should break though, but he is thicker. He is thicker,
- 13:52Speaker 2: and that's probably why he gets hurt because he does
- 13:54Speaker 2: break eventually. He is thicker than like the Chets, yeahs and.
- 13:58Speaker 4: Even like the Go Bears, I mean, Go Bear is
- 14:00Speaker 4: a big he's thick.
- 14:02Speaker 3: Go bear is a big.
- 14:03Speaker 4: Boy's kind of thin go bear.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Really, I don't know about that.
- 14:07Speaker 3: I've never seen him in person, though, so I don't know.
- 14:09Speaker 3: I'm just going off TV either, but we know he
- 14:12Speaker 3: looks pretty good.
- 14:13Speaker 2: All right, there you go. That's tittle tattle. We're gonna
- 14:23Speaker 2: get over to these packages in a second.
- 14:25Speaker 3: Yes, we're gonna do a break.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Yeah. I like four of them. But I thought my

- 15:46Speaker 2: So the semi big announcement that I'm making is that.
- 15:53Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 15:54Speaker 2: Three months or so ago I told my wife. I
- 15:56Speaker 2: was like, hey, I think I want to do like
- 15:58Speaker 2: a little docu series on sports memorabilia. I had a
- 16:01Speaker 2: friend approached me about starting a sports memorabilia like online
- 16:05Speaker 2: company with some other people. I wouldn't do the work.
- 16:07Speaker 2: I would just invest in it. Pretty sway to do it,
- 16:09Speaker 2: pretty prominent front. Yeah, but then it costs more money,
- 16:12Speaker 2: don't have to do anything. And I have some sports memorabilia,
- 16:15Speaker 2: most of its Arkansas. But I was like, yeah, that's cool.
- 16:17Speaker 2: So then I heard about these breaks, and I didn't
- 16:20Speaker 2: give you guys the full context of when I was
- 16:22Speaker 2: doing them, because they are awesome, and I see how
- 16:24Speaker 2: you can get it. I mean, you pay fifty bucks
- 16:26Speaker 2: and they're like, depending on it's like pick your division
- 16:29Speaker 2: one of eight. If they pull your division out of
- 16:30Speaker 2: the box, then you get whatever that is. Sometimes it's
- 16:33Speaker 2: pick your team and there's like thirty and it costs
- 16:35Speaker 2: less because your odds are way less, but they pull
- 16:38Speaker 2: your team, you get. So I'm doing these breaks on
- 16:40Speaker 2: TikTok crazy and the culture, and these guys sit there
- 16:43Speaker 2: and they basically just go home shopping network from their
- 16:45Speaker 2: TikTok a day all day. They mail it to you
- 16:48Speaker 2: if you win it, And so I started collecting all
- 16:51Speaker 2: this stuff up, all these jerseys, have signed stuff. And
- 16:53Speaker 2: my goal was I had a budget that I'd set myself,
- 16:57Speaker 2: and then I'm I was gonna see how much I
- 16:58Speaker 2: can make over a certain amount of time budget, how
- 17:00Speaker 2: much stuff I could get, and then try to sell
- 17:02Speaker 2: it back and see if I could profit off of
- 17:04Speaker 2: it or see what I really liked, well experiment or
- 17:07Speaker 2: see if we also did on ourself, if we could
- 17:10Speaker 2: make money. Like I wanted to do a series on
- 17:14Speaker 2: this culture, and so that's what I've been doing. I've
- 17:17Speaker 2: stopped doing breaks period. I'm not doing it at all.
- 17:19Speaker 2: And it was that hard to quit, yeah, because it's awesome.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Like it was like somebody who goes under cover, like
- 17:23Speaker 2: I'm gonna go test the drug trade. They're like, oh,
- 17:24Speaker 2: I love cocay.
- 17:26Speaker 3: Do you expect to fall with that?
- 17:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I tell you I did one I break. Yeah, well,
- 17:31Speaker 2: see here's the funny one.
- 17:33Speaker 3: Both go ahead.
- 17:36Speaker 2: So it was like four days ago or so.
- 17:39Speaker 6: I was scrolling on TikTok and I saw, you know,
- 17:41Speaker 6: a guy in live was doing and I was like,
- 17:43Speaker 6: you know, I haven't gambled in a while.
- 17:45Speaker 7: So.
- 17:48Speaker 2: So uh, yeah, I paid thirty bucks and I texted Kevin.
- 17:51Speaker 6: I was like, hey, I'm gonna choose the Patriots, so
- 17:53Speaker 6: you know, because I don't really keep up with that much,
- 17:55Speaker 6: but I know he loves the Patriots.
- 17:57Speaker 2: And so they were trying to fill up.
- 17:58Speaker 6: And anyway, they ended up canceling it and they were
- 18:02Speaker 6: going to redo it the next day and I totally
- 18:04Speaker 6: forgot about it.
- 18:04Speaker 2: But I just got a notification that they shipped. Yeah,
- 18:07Speaker 2: but that mean you won? Oh really? Because they ship.
- 18:09Speaker 2: If you lose, you they send you, like I have
- 18:11Speaker 2: three of these. These are cards because it can't be gambling.
- 18:14Speaker 2: So everybody wins something. Did you think you want? You
- 18:19Speaker 2: still might have won, but no, they shipped on everything.
- 18:21Speaker 2: All right.
- 18:22Speaker 4: He showed me too. He's like, Kevin, I got something
- 18:23Speaker 4: coming for you.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Many are these my cards? Yeah? We go through them.
- 18:27Speaker 3: Okay, Uh so I have what is that?
- 18:32Speaker 2: My address is on it on the boxes like make
- 18:35Speaker 2: sure you're addresses the show.
- 18:36Speaker 3: Yeah good, Mike, thank your mind. A bunch of little creepers.
- 18:39Speaker 2: Out there, bunch of weird. I was trying to get
- 18:41Speaker 2: to my house get mad at and they said nothing.
- 18:43Speaker 3: No one was even thinking about it.
- 18:45Speaker 2: All right. The first box bones, hold on what is
- 18:47Speaker 2: this box.
- 18:48Speaker 3: I don't know where's it from.
- 18:49Speaker 2: The big white box. I don't know all these people
- 18:53Speaker 2: build these sites. I have no idea.
- 18:54Speaker 3: Okay, okay, it looks like it's. Oh, that could be
- 18:58Speaker 3: a helmet.
- 18:58Speaker 4: Oh let's see.
- 19:01Speaker 3: Oh two things. That's definitely not a helmet. Here here's
- 19:04Speaker 3: the box.
- 19:05Speaker 2: Okay, the first thing, Christmas, let's do the jersey first.
- 19:09Speaker 2: The first thing inside of.
- 19:12Speaker 3: Hey, practice breaks, do it with your hands. You know
- 19:14Speaker 3: that I was flipped it over real nice?
- 19:16Speaker 4: No, no, no, no, see what we got here?
- 19:20Speaker 2: Okay, this if it's in a black bag. What I've learned,
- 19:22Speaker 2: it is an authentic, not a custom custom, which custom
- 19:28Speaker 2: jerseys look like to the.
- 19:29Speaker 3: Jerseys, but no logos.
- 19:31Speaker 2: But no logos on of the teams. This is an
- 19:33Speaker 2: authentic so it is a far Barbara signed authentic. They're
- 19:45Speaker 2: all signed, everything signed. It's an authentic signed Brett far
- 19:50Speaker 2: Boom Barbara Bovy. Cool. Would you lay that I got white?
- 19:57Speaker 3: So don't don't let dude, I didn't haven't eaten anything.
- 19:59Speaker 3: I'm good or like. You can put it on the
- 20:01Speaker 3: This is so cool. Okay, this is legit jersey, guys, Yeah, legit.
- 20:06Speaker 3: It's got the NFL logo on it and everything. So
- 20:08Speaker 3: that's a Brett Farb signed armpit sweat jersey.
- 20:11Speaker 4: No, is that a grass stain.
- 20:13Speaker 2: This next thing is a helmet. I can tell it's
- 20:16Speaker 2: hellment and it's an authentic helmet because it's heavy. Now
- 20:18Speaker 2: there are replicas which are still awesome to have. Yeah,
- 20:21Speaker 2: and that's what most of them are, because it looks
- 20:23Speaker 2: like a whatever helmet and they just sign it. This
- 20:24Speaker 2: is so heavy, it's it's I wish I wouldn't have
- 20:27Speaker 2: started with an authentic because it's going to be a
- 20:29Speaker 2: letdown for whatever these are.
- 20:30Speaker 3: Those might be authentic too, Okay, so.
- 20:33Speaker 2: Okay, hold on, as you see it's Denver Broncos.
- 20:36Speaker 4: Yeah, that sucks.
- 20:38Speaker 2: It's a white Denver Bronco's.
- 20:40Speaker 3: Helmetful what just the way you're touching it, man, you
- 20:42Speaker 3: don't want to rub off any autograph on there.
- 20:44Speaker 2: Well, here's what sucks is that I didn't know what
- 20:46Speaker 2: I was opening, and so I didn't know what was
- 20:48Speaker 2: going to be the first And this is my big one.
- 20:51Speaker 2: This is a authentic Denver Broncos signed helmet and it
- 20:54Speaker 2: says John Elway's Super Bowl Champs he signed it. And
- 20:57Speaker 2: the other one says Peyton Manning, super Bowl fifty champs.
- 21:00Speaker 2: They both they both signed this one. When I bought
- 21:03Speaker 2: it immediately, I got a DM some gofer me almost
- 21:06Speaker 2: four thousand dollars for this helmet. Wow, it's a white
- 21:08Speaker 2: Broncos authentic helmet. John Always super Bowl thirty two and
- 21:13Speaker 2: thirty three chairs or something like that. And the other one,
- 21:15Speaker 2: says Peyton Manning. Wow, Number eighteen, super Bowl fifty two.
- 21:20Speaker 3: That's a big one, boys and girls, that's a big one.
- 21:22Speaker 2: I won that one.
- 21:23Speaker 5: That one.
- 21:24Speaker 2: They were pissed when I won it because they had
- 21:26Speaker 2: never seen that one. Well, there was some Bronco there
- 21:30Speaker 2: was some Broncos fan who had been trying to win forever.
- 21:34Speaker 2: That's that's awesome.
- 21:35Speaker 3: That's really really cool.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Number seven sixty. You can pay like sixty, Peyton, it's
- 21:41Speaker 2: all the same. You don't know what you're gonna get.
- 21:42Speaker 2: I easily could have pulled U, you know, Sam Howell,
- 21:45Speaker 2: if they if I pay for it and it comes up.
- 21:47Speaker 2: But I never picked the Broncos. It happened to pick
- 21:49Speaker 2: the Broncos and that hit. That's so cool, dude, Peyton
- 21:52Speaker 2: Manning slash John Elway autographed authentic helmet.
- 21:57Speaker 3: This is an awesome helmet too.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I got two more boxes bones those waffles. Well, no,
- 22:03Speaker 2: this is a let's go, so they call it let's go.
- 22:08Speaker 3: Yeah, it's supposed to look like it goes.
- 22:10Speaker 4: Every time I see those boxes, I still just cravy
- 22:12Speaker 4: you open it?
- 22:13Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, man, don't pull it out. I won't do anything.
- 22:15Speaker 2: No you do because you're like all handsy, okay, here
- 22:17Speaker 2: we go. Ys.
- 22:20Speaker 3: Oh, the keys got it?
- 22:23Speaker 2: So this one is in a box and and in
- 22:24Speaker 2: this one it's the let's goes. Obviously it's that's not
- 22:27Speaker 2: gonna be a helmet because it's a smaller box.
- 22:29Speaker 3: Yeah, Mike, you got a knife.
- 22:31Speaker 2: We just went through this. Nobody has a knife in
- 22:33Speaker 2: this whole building. The keys because are you talking to you?
- 22:39Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 22:39Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I don't want to mess my finger, all right,
- 22:41Speaker 3: it's opening break it can tears.
- 22:46Speaker 2: And these are yeah you for sure? So what these
- 22:48Speaker 2: are a lot of times they are either funkos signed
- 22:51Speaker 2: funk gos, or footballs, and the footballs are usually white.
- 22:55Speaker 2: They're not the white yeah, but they're not the game balls.
- 23:00Speaker 2: There's a very few game balls that they put in
- 23:03Speaker 2: that are signed not on white because it's more difficult
- 23:05Speaker 2: to sign them, but they will do those sometimes.
- 23:08Speaker 3: In this one.
- 23:08Speaker 2: Oh, there's a jersey in here too, so it's not
- 23:11Speaker 2: a fun So there's a jersey first, this is red. Uh,
- 23:16Speaker 2: this is Buffalo running back Cook signed.
- 23:19Speaker 3: Oh yeah, that's something James Cook.
- 23:21Speaker 2: I'm not gonna pull that one out.
- 23:22Speaker 3: You want to leave in the bag?
- 23:24Speaker 2: Yeah, just late over there, but ain't authentic. I don't
- 23:27Speaker 2: want it now, that's not true. But that's a James
- 23:29Speaker 2: Cook Buffalo.
- 23:30Speaker 3: How do you know it's a custom?
- 23:31Speaker 2: Isn't it clear?
- 23:33Speaker 3: Bag? It says? Okay, got it all right there?
- 23:36Speaker 2: You know this one is a signed ball. It's white.
- 23:39Speaker 2: It is a double signed David Joku Jerome Ford the
- 23:46Speaker 2: double double signed autograph, which is rare to have them
- 23:49Speaker 2: double signed Browns double sign. That's a good hit. Double
- 23:54Speaker 2: signs were Okay, that's good. I got one more here.
- 23:57Speaker 2: The thing is, I got like nine, but the house
- 23:58Speaker 2: haven't opened yet, dude.
- 23:59Speaker 3: Even Brown's helmet on. This is embroidered into the ball.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Can I see your keys?
- 24:03Speaker 3: It's cool?
- 24:04Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 24:06Speaker 3: Really really like a like a felt uh no, kind
- 24:09Speaker 3: of like a patch. Oh but it's sewn into the ball.
- 24:12Speaker 3: All right? Here go along.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Oh, don't throw it. Okay, this one is a bigger box.
- 24:17Speaker 2: This could be a helmet, but it didn't feel that heavy,
- 24:20Speaker 2: so it could be a replica helmet.
- 24:22Speaker 3: Is it that difference of the weight where like one
- 24:25Speaker 3: feels like a plastic boy helmet?
- 24:27Speaker 2: I don't know. I mean maybe my head's just going
- 24:29Speaker 2: this one can't be that good.
- 24:31Speaker 3: Okay, oh man, some watch watch that. It is a helmet.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Okay, it feels it feels authentic.
- 24:42Speaker 3: It's silver. What the heck? Okay?
- 24:45Speaker 2: I thought the box of Cowboys, like, I don't have
- 24:48Speaker 2: any Cowboys.
- 24:48Speaker 4: Helmets of what you want?
- 24:50Speaker 2: I tried o Eagles. It's an authentic Eagles j Jalen hurts.
- 24:58Speaker 3: Wow, Oh, where's the autograph in green to green marker?
- 25:06Speaker 3: That is? That is the coolest thing I've seen that
- 25:09Speaker 3: I'm not a fan of.
- 25:10Speaker 2: I think this is probably if I were look it
- 25:12Speaker 2: up this exact helmet, Mike, would you look this up? Price?
- 25:15Speaker 2: I bet you it's like a thousand bucks. It's not
- 25:20Speaker 2: Lway Manning double signed super Bowl champions. This is like
- 25:25Speaker 2: other than Patrick Mahomes, probably because it's an authentic not
- 25:30Speaker 2: a replica, and this is specific helmets like I don't
- 25:32Speaker 2: know what color that is.
- 25:33Speaker 3: It's silver. That's sound like silver.
- 25:37Speaker 4: It's different.
- 25:37Speaker 3: What are you talking about, don't?
- 25:39Speaker 2: I don't.
- 25:39Speaker 4: I'm colorblind under different colors. Though it looks like a
- 25:41Speaker 4: different color.
- 25:41Speaker 3: Well, yeah, different line under the yellow light, it looks yellowish.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Yeah, Am I wrong?
- 25:45Speaker 3: Is it white?
- 25:45Speaker 5: Cheaper?
- 25:46Speaker 2: Holdout your MIC's not on? Seeing like eight hundred nine hundred. Okay,
- 25:50Speaker 2: So this one here, it's got like glitter on the
- 25:53Speaker 2: eat wings. That's all I have for now here, but bones.
- 25:55Speaker 3: This is actually really really cool. Like what's cool about
- 25:58Speaker 3: these helmets is they don't look like the team helmets.
- 26:01Speaker 3: They look like some up versions of them, and some
- 26:03Speaker 3: of them I've never seen this kind of Eagles helmet.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Now, I didn't know what I was bringing down here.
- 26:07Speaker 2: I do have a bunch of replicas too, But I
- 26:08Speaker 2: do have a really cool warn Moon replica oilers. Oh yeah,
- 26:11Speaker 2: but he signed and now I've got a couple of
- 26:13Speaker 2: replicas the radio studio Kan City Chiefs running Back Rise.
- 26:17Speaker 3: What you know this out, Lord Pickens, I've never known
- 26:21Speaker 3: that it's one sticker. The wings are one sticker that
- 26:24Speaker 3: wraps around the whole front of the helmet. I didn't either,
- 26:27Speaker 3: I thought it'd be two stickers. You don't want to
- 26:29Speaker 3: each side.
- 26:29Speaker 4: This is really cool, man, I don't ever really thought
- 26:31Speaker 4: about that.
- 26:32Speaker 2: So that's it for now. The announcement, No, you can't
- 26:36Speaker 2: have it.
- 26:36Speaker 3: Let me put this on and do the toush push.
- 26:38Speaker 2: Let's lay off, come on one to you versus read
- 26:41Speaker 2: and we pushed you.
- 26:44Speaker 6: Down.
- 26:45Speaker 2: I have some more that we could open if you
- 26:46Speaker 2: guys want to open some more later. Yeah, but it's
- 26:48Speaker 2: it's a lot of fun. I'll play some audio and
- 26:50Speaker 2: me winning some stuff too. But yeah, that's what's up.
- 26:53Speaker 2: Do you have a parley? No, Well, we're waiting for
- 26:58Speaker 2: the lines to come.
- 26:59Speaker 4: Yeah, because it's gotta be. It depends on when we

- 27:02Speaker 2: So do we just say pick scroll and pick team four.
- 27:07Speaker 5: We're just gonna insert it later.

- 27:15Speaker 2: because we want to put this up as soon as possible.

- 27:34Speaker 2: in Philly. Oh yeah, it's a four partner. By the way,
- 27:37Speaker 2: just collector smiles. Come on next up, Clippers minus six
- 27:41Speaker 2: and a half at the Rockets. Ye, like, it's only
- 27:46Speaker 2: a three parter. I would just pull one out like
- 27:49Speaker 2: that fourth. I saw the fourth one pulling like that
- 27:50Speaker 2: one like three.
- 27:52Speaker 3: All right, so far, just seventy six ers.
- 27:54Speaker 2: Seventy six of money line. No, no, we're keeping the
- 27:55Speaker 2: Clippers in, okay, Clippers minus six and a half, and
- 27:58Speaker 2: then we're doing the Cleveland money line added land.
- 28:00Speaker 8: Yeah, so.
- 28:03Speaker 2: I feel pretty good about that. It's a plus four ninety.

- 28:39Speaker 2: Y four six seven three sixty nine. Okay, here's Belmont
- 28:46Speaker 2: coach Casey Alexander. He's the head basketball coach. He was
- 28:50Speaker 2: super cool. We went and I mean, basically, we do
- 28:52Speaker 2: the show too much access. We can go and playball.
- 28:54Speaker 3: Yeah, pretty man.
- 28:55Speaker 2: We interview people. Oile were there.
- 28:56Speaker 3: I didn't tell you though, that I went to a
- 28:58Speaker 3: game right afterwards and the coaches pow wow. Is pretty
- 29:02Speaker 3: cool man.
- 29:03Speaker 2: You gotta talk you got it? Oh before the game?
- 29:06Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 29:06Speaker 3: What's it called? The coaches? What powow?
- 29:09Speaker 2: How I thought you were saying? It was like you
- 29:11Speaker 2: were in. He's like, all right, John, you could take it.
- 29:13Speaker 2: Go here top of the key, Eddie, you come in,
- 29:16Speaker 2: you're the number sey Get out of huddle. Man.
- 29:19Speaker 3: He comes out and like you're having you know whatever,
- 29:22Speaker 3: drinks and snacks with I guess alumni or boosters or whatever.
- 29:26Speaker 3: People and he comes out and he's like, all right,
- 29:28Speaker 3: thank you all for coming. Here's the game plan. This
- 29:30Speaker 3: team's really good. They're number one right now in the division,
- 29:32Speaker 3: and uh, we're going to do this to him. And
- 29:35Speaker 3: they got a big guy, but he's really not that good.
- 29:36Speaker 3: You should have recorded it sent over to the other code.
- 29:39Speaker 3: It's crazy. I'm like, what, why are you telling all
- 29:41Speaker 3: these people this?
- 29:42Speaker 2: But I don't think they do it every game?
- 29:45Speaker 3: Do they?
- 29:46Speaker 2: I don't think they do. I don't know. But everyone's
- 29:50Speaker 2: looking at like it's like they it's like they. I've
- 29:53Speaker 2: been to a couple of those and I don't know.
- 29:55Speaker 2: Sometimes don't know what they're talking about. And I was like, yep, yeah,
- 29:58Speaker 2: huh yeah, I just not like I know that. Here's
- 30:01Speaker 2: what we're three to two. I'll get the pressure to
- 30:05Speaker 2: all yeah yeah, oh yeah, that's a great one. That's
- 30:07Speaker 2: a good coach. I think that'll do it.
- 30:08Speaker 3: And then there's like an assistant that was there too.
- 30:10Speaker 3: He's kind of like coach Beard from ted Lasso. And
- 30:12Speaker 3: then he come and be like yeah, yeah, but it's
- 30:13Speaker 3: all right, we'll be We're rested. We came off a
- 30:15Speaker 3: good win two game games ago, so We're gonna be
- 30:18Speaker 3: good on this one too.
- 30:19Speaker 2: Casey Alexander, the coach, played point guard for the Bruins
- 30:21Speaker 2: in the nineties. He's in their Athletic Hall of Fame.
- 30:24Speaker 2: He's in the top ten as far as program wins
- 30:26Speaker 2: across the country since twenty nineteen. Fun to chat with here,
- 30:29Speaker 2: he is, coach, Casey Alexander, coach. We appreciate the time
- 30:33Speaker 2: anytime we talk with someone who had to coach at
- 30:36Speaker 2: their alma mater. You know, there's a different kind of
- 30:39Speaker 2: pressure there, a great pressure. But still, how does that,
- 30:43Speaker 2: you know, manifest itself with you? Is it stressful nights?
- 30:46Speaker 5: Is it?
- 30:47Speaker 2: Because again, you know more about this programing pretty much anybody.
- 30:49Speaker 7: Yeah, it's a combination probably of pressure and pride, you know,
- 30:52Speaker 7: and then when you throw on top of that replace
- 30:55Speaker 7: a college basketball Hall of Fame coach that's won over
- 30:59Speaker 7: eight hundred games and a program that's used to winning,
- 31:02Speaker 7: it creates the pressure can mount.
- 31:04Speaker 3: For sure.
- 31:05Speaker 2: Did he vouch for you? I hope so? I mean
- 31:08Speaker 2: was that a big point? Was he able to pick
- 31:10Speaker 2: a successor? And he looked cross Town.
- 31:11Speaker 7: Said that, yeah, I don't think he's as simple as
- 31:13Speaker 7: picking his successor. But he and I have stayed tremendously
- 31:17Speaker 7: close through the years. Played for him long long ago
- 31:20Speaker 7: and was an assistant coach for him for sixteen years,
- 31:22Speaker 7: So that that connection and then and just him being
- 31:25Speaker 7: such a great mentor to me, it was it was
- 31:27Speaker 7: an easy slide over.
- 31:28Speaker 2: You ever see a player you're recruiting that it's a
- 31:31Speaker 2: great athlete, can do a lot of things right, but
- 31:33Speaker 2: just has like a funky little shot or something, and
- 31:36Speaker 2: you have to fix something fundamental, but everything else is
- 31:40Speaker 2: so good in prime Do you ever take that project on?
- 31:45Speaker 7: Yes and no. You know, there really are no perfect
- 31:47Speaker 7: guys out there, you know, especially if you're looking at
- 31:50Speaker 7: both ends of the floor. You know some guys they
- 31:52Speaker 7: all have different talents, and when you recruit them, you
- 31:55Speaker 7: know you're you're obviously very excited about them. You believe
- 31:58Speaker 7: that they they have it takes and they're going to
- 32:00Speaker 7: come in and have great careers. It doesn't always manifest
- 32:02Speaker 7: itself that way, but so what we try to do
- 32:05Speaker 7: is accentuate the positives, certainly work on the negatives, but
- 32:09Speaker 7: you know, that's that's what recruiting is, like, how do
- 32:11Speaker 7: you get a guy that can come in and fit
- 32:13Speaker 7: your program? And maybe he's not the prototype, but he
- 32:16Speaker 7: brings something specific to the table that can really help
- 32:19Speaker 7: you get better.
- 32:20Speaker 2: Why don't they granny shot more free throws? It's question
- 32:23Speaker 2: because and they do in some other countries like I watch,
- 32:26Speaker 2: like Australia, their free throw percentage is so much higher
- 32:30Speaker 2: generally because they granny shot and they're you know, obviously
- 32:34Speaker 2: been a couple guys or one specifically they needs to
- 32:36Speaker 2: do it in the NBA. Is it just because it
- 32:38Speaker 2: looks dumb?
- 32:38Speaker 7: Yeah, style over substance, you know, it's it literally is
- 32:43Speaker 7: a great question. You know, Rick Berry perfected the granny shot,
- 32:46Speaker 7: and his sons, who are all great college players, shot
- 32:50Speaker 7: it that way. And I think statistics would prove. I
- 32:53Speaker 7: think if we lined everybody up and we started over
- 32:55Speaker 7: and we said this is the only way you're gonna
- 32:56Speaker 7: shoot free throws from now on, the free throw world
- 32:58Speaker 7: would be better.
- 32:59Speaker 3: Maybe it's the name, you know, maybe just change out
- 33:02Speaker 3: of there. Call it like the under power shot, underpower,
- 33:06Speaker 3: you know what I mean, under the power hook shot
- 33:09Speaker 3: hook hook too.
- 33:10Speaker 2: If your team came to you and said we want
- 33:12Speaker 2: to all shoot granny shots for free throws, what would
- 33:15Speaker 2: you say?
- 33:15Speaker 7: Granny shots I would probably say no, but if they
- 33:18Speaker 7: wanted the under hook power shot, yes, that's what I'm
- 33:21Speaker 7: talking about.
- 33:22Speaker 3: Considering that, Yes, coach, I feel like being a college
- 33:27Speaker 3: basketball coach is an opportunity to get that plaque on
- 33:30Speaker 3: the wall of like some amazing speech that you had.
- 33:32Speaker 5: Right.
- 33:33Speaker 2: But have you ever had like a speech where you
- 33:36Speaker 2: went in there and you're.
- 33:37Speaker 3: Like, I should not have said that or I said
- 33:38Speaker 3: that wrong? Like I see that.
- 33:40Speaker 7: It truly is one of those things where the more
- 33:41Speaker 7: I plan what I'm going to say, the worse that
- 33:43Speaker 7: it goes. You know, I think you got to be
- 33:45Speaker 7: pretty authentic in those moments, and if they're relying on
- 33:47Speaker 7: me for their motivation, then we're in a bad place.
- 33:50Speaker 1: You know.
- 33:50Speaker 7: But seasons in general, there, you know, there's a ton
- 33:53Speaker 7: it's a roller coaster no matter what season you're in,
- 33:56Speaker 7: who you coach, what the sport is, and so you
- 33:58Speaker 7: you try to stay pretty even kill and you try
- 34:00Speaker 7: to touch on the right buttons when the moment calls
- 34:02Speaker 7: for it.
- 34:03Speaker 2: Do you allow cameras in the locker room?
- 34:05Speaker 7: I mean we've had them on occasion, you know, yeah, sure,
- 34:07Speaker 7: but not all the time recording everything. Well, we're not
- 34:10Speaker 7: like all exclusive, you know, you know, you guys come
- 34:13Speaker 7: anytime you want to kind of a thing. But for
- 34:15Speaker 7: somebody like you guys, you guys are always welcome.
- 34:17Speaker 3: You heard it.
- 34:19Speaker 2: I don't want to always be in the locker room
- 34:20Speaker 2: and be honest, not good smells heard in there. Do
- 34:24Speaker 2: you have to any of the speeches or any of
- 34:28Speaker 2: the lessons that you teach at halftime or practice? Do
- 34:32Speaker 2: you have to like spread them out, especially if it's
- 34:34Speaker 2: like an emotional one or if it's a powerful one
- 34:36Speaker 2: where you want to make sure that everybody's gone from
- 34:38Speaker 2: the last time you've given it, like as soon as
- 34:40Speaker 2: all those guys are.
- 34:41Speaker 7: Out, when one can now go back. Yes, yeah, no,
- 34:45Speaker 7: not a whole lot of that, you know, a lot
- 34:46Speaker 7: of that will come early team meetings, early season team meetings.
- 34:49Speaker 7: We're gathering for the first time, you know, kind of
- 34:52Speaker 7: laying the ground war. Here's who we are, you know,
- 34:53Speaker 7: here's why we are the way we are, Here's where
- 34:56Speaker 7: our program has come from. Here's what you're stepping into.
- 34:58Speaker 7: So we speak to that a lot, especially here we
- 35:01Speaker 7: get such a great winning tradition that we want everybody
- 35:03Speaker 7: to understand, you know, kind of who they represent and
- 35:06Speaker 7: why but as far as the day to day going
- 35:08Speaker 7: through a season, No, I keep it pretty simple.
- 35:10Speaker 2: I want to talk about half time adjustments. So if
- 35:12Speaker 2: it's going well or it's going awful, and you're gonna
- 35:13Speaker 2: go into the locker room and do adjustments, why could
- 35:16Speaker 2: you not do adjustments to the same level halfway through
- 35:19Speaker 2: the first half. If it's all the guys that are
- 35:21Speaker 2: just sitting there anyway, they'd be like, coach, we should
- 35:23Speaker 2: do this. Why only at halftime.
- 35:26Speaker 7: It's not only at half time, it's every time out.
- 35:28Speaker 7: Every time out is full of adjustments. That's really all
- 35:30Speaker 7: that we're communicating to them is.
- 35:33Speaker 2: Half the time adjustments overrated? Then you're just doing it all.
- 35:35Speaker 7: Definitely overrated. I would get rid of halftime completely if
- 35:37Speaker 7: they would allow us, you know, just give us another
- 35:39Speaker 7: time out, maybe add another minute or two.
- 35:41Speaker 2: But some kool aid and banas no reason for us
- 35:43Speaker 2: to go back to the locker room.
- 35:45Speaker 7: You know, we don't have to have the dance team
- 35:47Speaker 7: and you know, and Red Panda out there on the
- 35:49Speaker 7: floor for half time. Let's just let's just make it longer.
- 35:52Speaker 7: But that's that's literally what the game is. Every half,
- 35:54Speaker 7: every time out, every halftime is about here's what we
- 35:57Speaker 7: need to continue to do and here's what we need
- 35:58Speaker 7: to improve on.
- 36:00Speaker 2: Like there are a lot of coaches, lots of coch Yeah,
- 36:02Speaker 2: I don't even know wh's the coach or like who's
- 36:03Speaker 2: just getting to wear the same clothes on the bench?
- 36:05Speaker 2: You know what are what's everybody doing? I don't need
- 36:09Speaker 2: every specific but like, is there just a guy that's
- 36:11Speaker 2: supposed to watch the center? Is there a guy that's
- 36:14Speaker 2: only running to tell you to challenge?
- 36:16Speaker 1: Like?
- 36:16Speaker 2: What is that?
- 36:16Speaker 3: All? Right?
- 36:17Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, that's a great question.
- 36:18Speaker 2: For our staff.
- 36:19Speaker 7: We have four assistants, and that's the same for everybody
- 36:22Speaker 7: in the country. You can have a certain number of
- 36:23Speaker 7: people that are actually on the road recruiting or coaching.
- 36:27Speaker 7: On the floor during practice, they all have position groups.
- 36:29Speaker 7: So there's some guys that have the guards, the wings,
- 36:31Speaker 7: the posts, you know, you name it. And so they're
- 36:33Speaker 7: they're selective as far as how they're watching the game
- 36:36Speaker 7: and who they're communicating with. And then you break it down,
- 36:39Speaker 7: you know, who has the scout for this game? You
- 36:40Speaker 7: know we're playing Arkansas, Uh, and uh, you know.
- 36:44Speaker 2: This coach you'll be this behind it.
- 36:45Speaker 7: So this coach has uh, this coach has the scout
- 36:48Speaker 7: for Arkansas, so he's more involved in that game. But
- 36:51Speaker 7: the next game we play tm X, and you know,
- 36:52Speaker 7: there's another coach that's that has that scout, so he's
- 36:55Speaker 7: more involved for that game.
- 36:56Speaker 2: I feel like this year, you guys have played way
- 36:59Speaker 2: better than your record, meaning there's been a lot of
- 37:01Speaker 2: you guys have been in so many freaking close games.
- 37:03Speaker 2: I hope you're right, Yeah, I mean I feel I
- 37:05Speaker 2: do feel that way. I was, you know, following along,
- 37:08Speaker 2: which is why we came here, and looking at where
- 37:11Speaker 2: you're ranked in the conference. I was surprised to see
- 37:13Speaker 2: because again, do you feel like you've had more close
- 37:16Speaker 2: games this season that didn't turn out the way that
- 37:18Speaker 2: you'd hope?
- 37:18Speaker 7: That never before very much? So there definitely more so
- 37:21Speaker 7: than you know, in our recent past. You know, it's
- 37:24Speaker 7: been over ten years since we've lost three games in
- 37:26Speaker 7: a row. It's been twenty something years since Belmont's lost
- 37:28Speaker 7: four games in a row, and so, and that can
- 37:30Speaker 7: happen quite frequently in a basketball season where you're playing
- 37:32Speaker 7: thirty plus games. So it's unusual territory for us not
- 37:35Speaker 7: to be winning at the at the level that we're
- 37:38Speaker 7: used to. But there's a long way to go.
- 37:40Speaker 3: You know.
- 37:40Speaker 7: It's part of my job as a leader and is
- 37:43Speaker 7: to make sure that when it's all said and done
- 37:45Speaker 7: and we wrap it up, we've got good numbers when
- 37:47Speaker 7: it's over.
- 37:47Speaker 3: How long does it take you to get over a loss?
- 37:49Speaker 3: Because I coach my kids' basketball games, and man, it
- 37:52Speaker 3: just ruins my weekend, ruins my whole weekend.
- 37:55Speaker 7: Same, it's the same, you know, truly coaching is, especially
- 37:59Speaker 7: when you do it for a profession. I mean, it's
- 38:01Speaker 7: it's really hard to turn it off, almost impossible to
- 38:03Speaker 7: turn it off. You know, you worn't really hard to be,
- 38:06Speaker 7: you know, a good husband in my case, or father,
- 38:08Speaker 7: and I don't know how I do with those things,
- 38:09Speaker 7: but it's hard to ever walk away from it. It's
- 38:13Speaker 7: the and the losses stay with you a lot longer
- 38:15Speaker 7: than the winds do.
- 38:16Speaker 2: So you came in nineteen twenty, right, that's the first
- 38:18Speaker 2: year's head coach? N the hell here with the year
- 38:21Speaker 2: nineteen twenty? God no, no, like nineteen dash twenty. But
- 38:28Speaker 2: in that time, I mean, we've seen the portal become
- 38:33Speaker 2: a massive part of college athletics in general, and you've
- 38:36Speaker 2: got guys that are coming from bigger schools and then
- 38:39Speaker 2: guys that could use this as a way to get
- 38:41Speaker 2: to bigger schools, Like, how is that affecting recruiting every year?
- 38:45Speaker 2: For you?
- 38:45Speaker 7: It's a mess. There's not a coach out there who
- 38:51Speaker 7: firmly supports the portal. I think all of us like
- 38:53Speaker 7: for our players to have some opportunity, you know, but
- 38:57Speaker 7: it's it's made a mess of the whole thing, you know.
- 38:59Speaker 7: And going back to the nineteen twenty season, we also
- 39:02Speaker 7: had COVID there for a couple of years, So we
- 39:03Speaker 7: came out of COVID and entered transferred portal season and
- 39:07Speaker 7: it's changed everything quite a bit. This program has always
- 39:11Speaker 7: been about continuity and cohesiveness and kind of being old
- 39:14Speaker 7: seeing guys develop over time, and that model is really
- 39:18Speaker 7: really challenged, and so we have to adapt. We've got
- 39:20Speaker 7: to be different, but we also kind of have to
- 39:22Speaker 7: stay true to who we are and have a culture
- 39:26Speaker 7: here that looks and feels different than everybody else.
- 39:29Speaker 2: Final three questions. If we ask your players to give
- 39:33Speaker 2: us a word, one word to describe your coaching style,
- 39:36Speaker 2: what do you think they would say?
- 39:38Speaker 7: Oh, man, I don't have one. The first thing that
- 39:42Speaker 7: came to my mind was tough. I mean demanding, maybe
- 39:46Speaker 7: I think in the right way. I mean I want
- 39:48Speaker 7: to push our players at a high level. I want
- 39:51Speaker 7: to be reasonable about it.
- 39:53Speaker 3: You know.
- 39:53Speaker 7: I think the old school days of you do it
- 39:55Speaker 7: because I say you do it, those are long gone.
- 39:58Speaker 7: So you try to love them really hard. But also
- 40:00Speaker 7: coaching really hard.
- 40:01Speaker 2: You who gets to stand up on the bench.
- 40:05Speaker 7: Other than the rules, you can't stand up certain coach,
- 40:07Speaker 7: technically just the head coach. They'll let an assistant coach
- 40:10Speaker 7: stand up to coach briefly, but he can't remain standing.
- 40:14Speaker 3: Okay, And when you get kicked out of a game,
- 40:17Speaker 3: do you tell my heads up? Watch this?
- 40:19Speaker 7: Never prepared for that, unfortunately, because there was a moment
- 40:22Speaker 7: earlier this year where that happened. But there's there's Our
- 40:26Speaker 7: assistant coaches handled that moment really, they adapted and it
- 40:29Speaker 7: was fine. They didn't miss me at all.
- 40:30Speaker 8: And what do you do?
- 40:32Speaker 7: What do you do when you this is top secret,
- 40:34Speaker 7: But I was back in the back in the bowels
- 40:37Speaker 7: of the arena on my phone with maybe a GA
- 40:42Speaker 7: during the time I was watching the game on my
- 40:44Speaker 7: computer had a little bit of delay. It kind of
- 40:47Speaker 7: ruined it for me. Because that was about three seconds
- 40:49Speaker 7: behind the crowd that I could hear out in the arena.
- 40:51Speaker 7: It was a road game, you know, so I knew
- 40:53Speaker 7: that something was coming bad. Whenever I heard the crew.
- 40:56Speaker 3: I pictured you going to Chili's and just like.
- 41:00Speaker 2: Yeah, nobody tells you.
- 41:01Speaker 7: They escorts you out of the gym, and then there's like, hey,
- 41:03Speaker 7: you're on your own for the next hour, so.
- 41:06Speaker 2: We'll getting grounded, but just throwing the yard. Basically, great, coach.
- 41:09Speaker 2: What do you want people to know about about Belmont
- 41:11Speaker 2: as a as a program?
- 41:12Speaker 7: I want him to know what Belmont University is. Man,
- 41:14Speaker 7: It's an awesome community of people. It's I think it's
- 41:18Speaker 7: rooted in the right things. I think we stand for
- 41:21Speaker 7: excellence here, but there's a community of faith that's that's
- 41:24Speaker 7: very important to the people that are here. The culture
- 41:26Speaker 7: across campus, the culture in our department, true student athletes.
- 41:31Speaker 7: And then we've got a lot of banners that show
- 41:32Speaker 7: how successful we've been. We've got a lot of academic
- 41:35Speaker 7: accomplishments that show how successful we've been. But more than anything,
- 41:38Speaker 7: we've got a lot of people out in the world
- 41:39Speaker 7: that are making a difference. And that's what Belmont is
- 41:41Speaker 7: appreciate your time, coach.
- 41:42Speaker 2: Thanks you as coach. Now we're going to get to
- 41:48Speaker 2: the players from Belmont. Here is Malik Dia. Malik's a
- 41:51Speaker 2: hometown kid in Nashville, went to Vanderbilt, transferred to Belmont.
- 41:54Speaker 2: He's a beast on the boards, athletic freak. He's just
- 41:57Speaker 2: in him donc. It's crazy. You can follow him on
- 41:59Speaker 2: Instagram Malik d M A l I kk d I
- 42:03Speaker 2: A Melik da here's my leak. So if you have
- 42:05Speaker 2: a let's say, a breakaway donk or a block or
- 42:10Speaker 2: like a great steal, do you request that clip immediately
- 42:12Speaker 2: for your Instagram?
- 42:14Speaker 8: Uh? Not not necessarily. It usually finds this way to me.
- 42:17Speaker 8: But it's definitely good to see and I'm just it's
- 42:23Speaker 8: I love seeing them.
- 42:24Speaker 2: I say that when you saw yourself on Sports Center
- 42:27Speaker 2: Top ten, because that's pretty sick. Yeah. Is that the
- 42:30Speaker 2: coolest thing that's happened, like as far as national press.
- 42:33Speaker 8: Yeah, no doubt one hundred. I'd say there was one
- 42:36Speaker 8: earlier in the season as well that I thought should
- 42:38Speaker 8: have made it.
- 42:39Speaker 2: The firming game.
- 42:40Speaker 8: But that was definitely amazing seeing myself on sports Top ten.
- 42:44Speaker 2: It was not did you know after that play or
- 42:47Speaker 2: did you have a good feeling or did you even
- 42:49Speaker 2: think about it? Like that was so legit that somebody's
- 42:51Speaker 2: going to show that in a highlight reel.
- 42:53Speaker 8: Oh yeah, I definitely. As soon as I did it,
- 42:54Speaker 8: I'm like, oh, yeah, this is going everywhere.
- 42:58Speaker 2: Do you tell people though, like you like, hey, you
- 43:00Speaker 2: send it to friends?
- 43:01Speaker 8: Oh no, I mean I think my friends are the
- 43:03Speaker 8: ones to see it eventually, and they send it to me.
- 43:05Speaker 8: But I'm not just going to go out there and
- 43:07Speaker 8: just be like, oh my gosh, look at me.
- 43:08Speaker 2: You know, that's all I would not Who do you
- 43:10Speaker 2: have some games depending on who you're playing against, that
- 43:14Speaker 2: maybe your role completely changes for a game or is
- 43:16Speaker 2: it consistent regardless.
- 43:18Speaker 8: I think I try to say consistent in my efforts
- 43:20Speaker 8: each and every game, and you know, I know who
- 43:22Speaker 8: I am as a player. But some games just like
- 43:24Speaker 8: maybe you got to get your teammates more involved because
- 43:26Speaker 8: you know they're helping off a lot, and some games
- 43:28Speaker 8: it's like you got to be more aggressive because you
- 43:30Speaker 8: know you have a better matchup. So I think just
- 43:31Speaker 8: going into each and every game, you just got to
- 43:33Speaker 8: look for, you know, the small things that will help
- 43:36Speaker 8: the team win.
- 43:36Speaker 2: Can you tell in the first two to three minutes
- 43:38Speaker 2: how physical the refs are going to allow the game
- 43:40Speaker 2: to be. And is that always the indicator of the
- 43:42Speaker 2: entire game or sometimes they just change.
- 43:45Speaker 8: I think sometimes it change. You know, I really try
- 43:47Speaker 8: to have a good relationship with the refs, you know,
- 43:48Speaker 8: I try and go and talk to them before the
- 43:50Speaker 8: game and stuff. But usually you can see if they're
- 43:52Speaker 8: going to let you play and let you be physical
- 43:55Speaker 8: or you know, you got they're gonna call it tight
- 43:57Speaker 8: or not in the first like two three minutes or so.
- 43:59Speaker 8: But sometimes as it will change. You know, you talk
- 44:01Speaker 8: to them, you drive and you know, get a good
- 44:03Speaker 8: feel for them and see what's happening.
- 44:04Speaker 2: So you ever look them up and find out what,
- 44:06Speaker 2: like the kid's name is and before games like yo, hey, Chuck,
- 44:11Speaker 2: I saw Mendy turn eleven. Happy birthdays on the spelling
- 44:15Speaker 2: be right, because then it's it's it's humans, right, I mean,
- 44:18Speaker 2: they're supposed to be refs, but we're all just humans.
- 44:20Speaker 2: You have to do anything like that.
- 44:21Speaker 8: I should, yeah, I mean call on every referee, You're right, Yeah,
- 44:26Speaker 8: I need I need to start doing that. Maybe maybe
- 44:28Speaker 8: we'll give me a few more fabs.
- 44:29Speaker 2: Yeah, they won't they won't mean to do it, but
- 44:31Speaker 2: they will just do it naturally because we're humans.
- 44:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I need a fundamentals. How often are you still
- 44:36Speaker 3: working on fundamentals or is that kind of something that
- 44:38Speaker 3: like you just did when you were younger? Do you
- 44:39Speaker 3: still do the figure eight work?
- 44:41Speaker 1: You know?
- 44:41Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 44:42Speaker 8: I still do all the fundamentals. Man, I'm in the
- 44:44Speaker 8: gym every single day. It's just something I love to do.
- 44:47Speaker 8: Working on the fundamentals are really like the basics. You
- 44:50Speaker 8: don't really got to do anything flashy. I think there's
- 44:52Speaker 8: a lot of easy ways to get points and help
- 44:54Speaker 8: your team and just be so effective and simple ways. So,
- 44:57Speaker 8: I mean, the flashy stuff is cool every now and then,
- 44:59Speaker 8: but like you know, you don't really need to accessively
- 45:02Speaker 8: work on that more so I work on like fundamentals
- 45:04Speaker 8: and just being a good basics basketball player.
- 45:07Speaker 2: Is basketball still fun for you always?
- 45:09Speaker 8: Every single day?
- 45:10Speaker 2: I mean? And that's kind of what it's about, right.
- 45:12Speaker 2: If you love doing it, you probably work harder at it.
- 45:14Speaker 2: You work harder at it, you get better at it.
- 45:15Speaker 8: Yeah, I just say, you know, growing up playing basketball
- 45:18Speaker 8: is just like it just grasped me so so strongly,
- 45:22Speaker 8: and I was just like, this is something I really
- 45:24Speaker 8: want to do in my life, and I just want
- 45:26Speaker 8: to put my all into a work hard at so
- 45:28Speaker 8: I can be good at it. And not only that,
- 45:30Speaker 8: when you're working at it, I feel like it's just
- 45:31Speaker 8: so much fun. It's just like you're in the gym,
- 45:33Speaker 8: You're doing what you love.
- 45:34Speaker 1: You know.
- 45:34Speaker 2: So do you do you want the ball game online?
- 45:38Speaker 2: Of course? Do you say?
- 45:39Speaker 3: Do you do?
- 45:39Speaker 2: You say that?
- 45:42Speaker 8: I mean I do I like coach out Xander, do
- 45:45Speaker 8: what's best for the team. You know, I think he
- 45:47Speaker 8: knows what's best, but in my mind I'm always ready.
- 45:49Speaker 2: To take I really know, like he thinks he knows,
- 45:51Speaker 2: but you really know, like you know, no, you know,
- 45:56Speaker 2: I guess yeah, yeah.
- 45:57Speaker 3: Yeah, Malik, you're a local kid, like you grew up
- 46:00Speaker 3: up in the area. What's it like come to school, like,
- 46:02Speaker 3: you know, right down the street from your house, not literally,
- 46:04Speaker 3: but you know, do your parents show up all the time?
- 46:07Speaker 8: And yeah, I'd say just having my parents say at
- 46:09Speaker 8: every game is just you know, amazing. Then having my
- 46:12Speaker 8: like friends and people who are in town and stuff
- 46:14Speaker 8: just to come see me as amazing. So I definitely
- 46:17Speaker 8: say it wasn't the main part of my decision. But
- 46:20Speaker 8: I definitely say it is super helpful and it's just
- 46:23Speaker 8: amazing for everybody to come and just you know, show
- 46:26Speaker 8: support and just have the site behind my back.
- 46:28Speaker 5: How's your foot?
- 46:29Speaker 8: It's good, it's great.
- 46:30Speaker 6: Now.
- 46:31Speaker 3: Nothing.
- 46:31Speaker 2: You don't worry about it anymore. No, mentally, don't worry
- 46:34Speaker 2: about anymore.
- 46:34Speaker 8: Mentally, I don't even think about it, you know. Just
- 46:37Speaker 8: it was it was a big hump to come over
- 46:38Speaker 8: at first. But I think now that you know, basketball
- 46:42Speaker 8: seasons came in, I'm more focused on the season and stuff.
- 46:45Speaker 8: I think everything's been going well. I think I don't
- 46:47Speaker 8: really think about it anymore.
- 46:48Speaker 2: Do you think about how much sleep you get to night?
- 46:51Speaker 8: Yeah, I've had a lot of people tell me, tell
- 46:54Speaker 8: me about my sleep. Atters I need to work on
- 46:56Speaker 8: that and get more sleep.
- 46:57Speaker 2: So it ain't good, that's what you're saying. It's a
- 46:59Speaker 2: working Yeah, me too. Well, we really appreciate the time,
- 47:03Speaker 2: good luck the rest season and hope you stay healthy.
- 47:05Speaker 2: Appreciate it, good luck, appreciate it now. Our chat with
- 47:08Speaker 2: guard Cad Tyson. He was throwing the ball off the
- 47:12Speaker 2: wall and doing windmill slams when we were there. He
- 47:14Speaker 2: was twenty twenty two, Carolina. Mister basketball in high school
- 47:17Speaker 2: just shoots like crazy. Follow him on Instagram at cad
- 47:20Speaker 2: Tyson at c A d E T Y s O N.
- 47:22Speaker 2: Here he is Kad Tyson. How tall are you really? Really?
- 47:28Speaker 2: Shoes off?
- 47:28Speaker 5: Six y sixes on six seven?
- 47:30Speaker 2: Shouldn't they always measure with shoes on?
- 47:31Speaker 1: Though?
- 47:32Speaker 2: Because when do you not play with shoes I guess
- 47:33Speaker 2: that's a good point. I don't know because I if
- 47:36Speaker 2: someone asked me how tall are you? I don't go
- 47:38Speaker 2: shoes off. Like my driver's license, just say six to
- 47:40Speaker 2: one and the driver's sl on it. The driver's likes
- 47:43Speaker 2: is more official than anything that that's happening in you know,
- 47:46Speaker 2: college basketball. So so six ' seven, did you ever
- 47:50Speaker 2: have a growth spurt that hurt?
- 47:53Speaker 5: Not necessarily that hurt, but I had a big gross spur,
- 47:57Speaker 5: like during my sophomore year in high school?
- 47:59Speaker 2: And you grew how many inches in that season?
- 48:02Speaker 5: A year?
- 48:04Speaker 2: Probably about five or six. Were you one of those
- 48:06Speaker 2: guys that had a ton of ball handling skills? Then
- 48:07Speaker 2: you grew even more so then you had all the skills?
- 48:11Speaker 5: I mean, I wouldn't say all that. I just stay consistent,
- 48:14Speaker 5: try to that's why I say too, But.
- 48:17Speaker 3: What's the confidence level, like, you know, being a college
- 48:20Speaker 3: basketball player and just knowing that you are as good
- 48:23Speaker 3: as anyone out there?
- 48:24Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, you know, I try and stay levelheaded
- 48:28Speaker 5: all the time, and I get too high and I
- 48:30Speaker 5: get too low based off one game or one practice.
- 48:34Speaker 5: That's pretty much it.
- 48:34Speaker 2: You ever watch film and watch yourself in both scenarios
- 48:40Speaker 2: like God, I'm so good, I should that you should
- 48:41Speaker 2: be getting more minutes? Or how am I not? How's
- 48:44Speaker 2: he not pulling me? Like? Does that happen?
- 48:46Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 48:46Speaker 5: It's usually more of how's he not pulling me out
- 48:48Speaker 5: the game? I tend to focus on the negative a
- 48:51Speaker 5: lot when I watch film, just because, like I said,
- 48:53Speaker 5: I don't want to get too high or low, so
- 48:56Speaker 5: I focus more on the spots I can get better.
- 49:00Speaker 2: When you come in and as a freshman you get
- 49:01Speaker 2: accolades like crazy, you come back for your sophomore year.
- 49:04Speaker 2: Is there a leadership role that they kind of expect
- 49:07Speaker 2: you to fall into now that you've been here a season?
- 49:09Speaker 3: Oh?
- 49:09Speaker 5: Yeah, definitely, And I mean I've been working on that.
- 49:13Speaker 5: I've said a lot there. I'm not the most vocal guy,
- 49:15Speaker 5: but I've had to step up and be a lot
- 49:17Speaker 5: more vocal this year.
- 49:18Speaker 2: So is that uncomfortable for you? And do you do
- 49:20Speaker 2: you push yourself to do it even if it doesn't
- 49:22Speaker 2: feel comfortable.
- 49:23Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, yeah, it's definitely uncomfortable. I don't like
- 49:26Speaker 5: to do it, but I mean I know that if
- 49:28Speaker 5: we want to win games and we want to be
- 49:30Speaker 5: a good team, that I gotta I gotta take on
- 49:31Speaker 5: that role.
- 49:32Speaker 2: What abou high school? When're playing highchoolall, were you more
- 49:34Speaker 2: vocal then or were you just like a scion assassin
- 49:35Speaker 2: as well? Yeah?
- 49:36Speaker 5: I wasn't very vocal. I mean I had some other
- 49:38Speaker 5: guys on my team that like to speak up, and
- 49:40Speaker 5: you know, high school is a little different. You just
- 49:42Speaker 5: go out there and play the game, which I mean
- 49:44Speaker 5: is what I try and do regardless. But yeah, I
- 49:46Speaker 5: wasn't as vocal in high school for sure.
- 49:48Speaker 2: What was the for you the level like going from
- 49:52Speaker 2: high school senior year to freshman year because you kind
- 49:55Speaker 2: of came in and you know, you started popping off
- 49:56Speaker 2: pretty quick. Uh, was it not as drastic of a
- 50:00Speaker 2: change as you thought?
- 50:01Speaker 5: Yeah, definitely. I was kind of a little bit skeptical
- 50:06Speaker 5: about where I would see myself fit in at the
- 50:08Speaker 5: next level, but it just seemed to work out well.
- 50:12Speaker 2: Why Belmont.
- 50:14Speaker 5: I like the Christian aspect of it, and I just
- 50:16Speaker 5: felt like I felt like I could see myself going
- 50:19Speaker 5: there and playing getting good minutes, and I like the
- 50:23Speaker 5: I definitely like the coaching staff and the relationships that
- 50:26Speaker 5: I built over the recruit process.
- 50:27Speaker 2: When you're getting recruited, does coach say I can see
- 50:30Speaker 2: you playing freshman year, like you're gonna play freshman year?
- 50:32Speaker 2: Or does he say we'd love to have your talented
- 50:34Speaker 2: and you're gonna have to I don't know, work and
- 50:36Speaker 2: see if we can get you in there.
- 50:37Speaker 5: Uh, honestly, I really don't remember, but it was probably
- 50:40Speaker 5: more of the first the first statement.
- 50:43Speaker 2: He sees minutes for you. Yeah, if you don't play
- 50:46Speaker 2: X amount of minutes, that's disappointing to you, either because
- 50:49Speaker 2: you didn't play well or maybe had you got hurt,
- 50:52Speaker 2: Like how many minutes do you want to play?
- 50:53Speaker 8: Game?
- 50:54Speaker 5: Yeah? I mean I don't really focus on the minutes.
- 50:55Speaker 5: I just focus on when I get out there, just
- 50:57Speaker 5: going out there, competing, playing harder than everybody else court,
- 51:00Speaker 5: and you just see what happens.
- 51:01Speaker 2: You don't talk any trash at all.
- 51:04Speaker 5: I do sometimes not when I'm playing bad though, I
- 51:06Speaker 5: gotta make sure i'm playing.
- 51:07Speaker 2: That'd be the worst time to talk to.
- 51:10Speaker 3: Equipment wise, Like if you want an arm sleeve, you
- 51:13Speaker 3: want some j's Like do you just ask them and
- 51:15Speaker 3: they give them to.
- 51:17Speaker 5: I mean, I'm sure why not ja's because I mean,
- 51:20Speaker 5: right right, right right, you know what I mean. I'm
- 51:22Speaker 5: sure I could ask for like a cast sleeve or
- 51:24Speaker 5: something and then I have to fill out some paper
- 51:25Speaker 5: maybe lie on the form a little bit like my
- 51:27Speaker 5: cat has been hurting or something. But I mean I
- 51:30Speaker 5: could probably get one if I wanted to.
- 51:31Speaker 2: What about when you get treatment? You'd be like, oh
- 51:34Speaker 2: but really you're not. You just kind of want to
- 51:35Speaker 2: massage that ever happened?
- 51:36Speaker 5: Yeah, but no, no, no, no, just the regular sweetest
- 51:40Speaker 5: message you have.
- 51:41Speaker 2: Any rocks my back because that's a resource, right.
- 51:45Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I mean you could do that, but yeah,
- 51:48Speaker 5: I tend to not.
- 51:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I would say that too, but I would be like,
- 51:53Speaker 2: oh my neck, can you get myema quads to by
- 51:56Speaker 2: my feet? Uh? This season, I feel like you guys
- 52:00Speaker 2: have been so close and so many of these games.
- 52:03Speaker 2: I was telling Coach that it's like you guys are
- 52:05Speaker 2: playing way better I feel than your record is. I've
- 52:08Speaker 2: not seen a team be as good that lose so
- 52:10Speaker 2: many close games. What do you think the X factor is?
- 52:13Speaker 2: It's going to take you guys through the next part
- 52:15Speaker 2: of the season, I guess the next half of the
- 52:17Speaker 2: season even to get you guys ready for the tournament.
- 52:20Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, most of all, just staying consistent, coming
- 52:22Speaker 5: in here and practice every day, just trying to get
- 52:24Speaker 5: better every single day, look at film, work on what
- 52:28Speaker 5: we see we need to work on, and just keep
- 52:30Speaker 5: getting better.
- 52:31Speaker 2: You like Nashville?
- 52:32Speaker 5: Oh yeah, most definitely.
- 52:34Speaker 2: Well you smiled, Like why why you like Nashville?
- 52:37Speaker 5: Well, there's no shortness of food for sure, so you
- 52:40Speaker 5: can go anywhere. That's just some good food. And I've
- 52:43Speaker 5: never lived in like a big city, so it's all
- 52:45Speaker 5: it's all new to me. But I mean I like it.
- 52:47Speaker 5: I like it a lot.
- 52:49Speaker 3: All right.
- 52:49Speaker 2: Well, what's traveling like inn on a basketball team? Yeah?
- 52:54Speaker 5: That was one of my worst things last year coming
- 52:56Speaker 5: in as a freshman. I just hated travel. I mean,
- 52:59Speaker 5: it's tough, but you start to get used to it
- 53:01Speaker 5: after a while.
- 53:02Speaker 2: Is it cool though?
- 53:02Speaker 3: Do you get time to like go see the city
- 53:04Speaker 3: you're in or is it just like no games over
- 53:06Speaker 3: and back home?
- 53:07Speaker 5: Sometimes you do some trips you do, sometimes you don't.
- 53:10Speaker 5: But it's also it's also cool hanging out in the
- 53:12Speaker 5: hotel with you guys. You know, some might bring a
- 53:15Speaker 5: console or something. You're playing video games when you gotta
- 53:18Speaker 5: not necessarily a day off, but when you got time
- 53:20Speaker 5: to so.
- 53:20Speaker 3: Play twister and stuff.
- 53:21Speaker 2: That'd twister.
- 53:24Speaker 3: Not twister.
- 53:26Speaker 2: Is there a dedicated he's bringing the PS five guy?
- 53:29Speaker 3: Yeah, because that's a lot like you put a PS
- 53:31Speaker 3: five in your back.
- 53:32Speaker 2: It's always a freshman h No, not no, it was
- 53:35Speaker 2: last year, but not anymore so. Yeah, because so if
- 53:38Speaker 2: everybody thinks somebody's gonna do it, nobody does it. Then
- 53:41Speaker 2: you get there and there's no two K and then
- 53:42Speaker 2: everybody's upset. Yeah.
- 53:43Speaker 5: You just on TikTok the whole the whole time.
- 53:45Speaker 2: Yeah, and then you get the messages like you should
- 53:46Speaker 2: turn TikTok off and I swipe out of that that
- 53:49Speaker 2: it's like you've probably been to wait too long. Get
- 53:51Speaker 2: out of that. Well, good luck the rest of the season.
- 53:53Speaker 2: Stay healthy. We appreciate the time, yep, I appreciate it.
- 53:56Speaker 2: I think all those guys putting those interviews with us
- 53:58Speaker 2: and you want to open af youew more bought because
- 54:00Speaker 2: before we go?
- 54:01Speaker 3: Yeah, two more egos?
- 54:03Speaker 2: Well this one I actually pulled it right before I
- 54:08Speaker 2: came down and it's in an Eggo box.
- 54:10Speaker 3: But this is a Mike Vick football Oh wow, you
- 54:13Speaker 3: got to Mike Vick things.
- 54:14Speaker 2: Well I gave. I traded the other one to listen,
- 54:16Speaker 2: that's right.
- 54:16Speaker 3: I forgot about that.
- 54:17Speaker 2: I sent him to Mike Vick because my vet, who's
- 54:19Speaker 2: a friend of mine, was like, no, Mike, I don't hear.
- 54:21Speaker 2: So I traded him a Mike Vick for a Raiders player.
- 54:26Speaker 2: I don't even know who it was, that Mark Cooper Raiders.
- 54:28Speaker 2: I already have that one. It's like a Josh Jacobs
- 54:30Speaker 2: maybe that and he may not even be the Raiders.
- 54:32Speaker 2: But I was gonna give it to DJ Gasso, who's
- 54:34Speaker 2: a huge Raiders fan. But would you like the jersey
- 54:37Speaker 2: even if he leaves the team?
- 54:39Speaker 3: Is Josh Jacobs not a Raider anymore?
- 54:41Speaker 4: Well, he's gonna be a free agent.
- 54:42Speaker 2: Yeah, But I'm saying, is it worth more if they're
- 54:46Speaker 2: on a different team in your mind? Or is it like, oh,
- 54:47Speaker 2: he's not even playing for them anymore?
- 54:49Speaker 4: Depends how long you're.
- 54:49Speaker 2: There, like not to wear to show? Oh like would
- 54:55Speaker 2: DJ be like, oh may he's not on the team anymore.
- 54:58Speaker 3: Oh, Josh Jacobs was a good player for the Raiders
- 55:00Speaker 3: for a long for few years.
- 55:02Speaker 2: Okay, well I haven't decided yet. I also have but
- 55:03Speaker 2: Myers tied in jersey from the Raiders. Okay, you put
- 55:06Speaker 2: that over with. That's my book, all right. Here is
- 55:11Speaker 2: another one of those uh just break its where it's

- 55:22Speaker 2: I've never got a cleat.
- 55:23Speaker 3: Oh, I've never seen a clee.
- 55:24Speaker 2: Or it is a funko, which you're cool. The funkos,
- 55:29Speaker 2: I oddly think are really cool because they signed.

- 55:56Speaker 3: Oh my goodness, And it just fell out of the box.
- 55:59Speaker 3: Be careful with that stuff.
- 56:00Speaker 2: Man, Well it's in a plastic case, doesn't matter. I
- 56:03Speaker 2: don't know what this is.
- 56:04Speaker 3: That looks like a birfold Larry Bird.
- 56:08Speaker 2: Oh my god, bro, easy, let me tell you what
- 56:10Speaker 2: this is. I remember winning this and going. So it's
- 56:13Speaker 2: not any of these. This is not a funk go.
- 56:15Speaker 2: This is not a cleat. This is not a football.
- 56:18Speaker 2: It's the only time I've seen it, not one of
- 56:19Speaker 2: the three. So is this hold on? I gonna I

- 56:34Speaker 2: Because I don't think it's a funk go. It's an
- 56:37Speaker 2: action figure. So here's what it is, Joe. It's a
- 56:40Speaker 2: Barry Sanders signed NFL Action figure. Barry Sanders obviously for
- 56:46Speaker 2: the Lions.
- 56:47Speaker 3: NFL Action Do you remember these, Kevin?
- 56:49Speaker 2: Yeah, is that what it's called? The NFL Action I
- 56:51Speaker 2: think that's what you said, right, I just said NFL
- 56:53Speaker 2: Action figure?
- 56:54Speaker 3: Oh forget then I be wrong.
- 56:57Speaker 4: But yeah, I remember those.
- 56:59Speaker 2: It's called uh it's a legacy series, but it's Barry
- 57:03Speaker 2: Sanders and he signed it.
- 57:04Speaker 3: That's awesome. Gosh, my kids are gonna love this stuff. Yeah,
- 57:10Speaker 3: they would love it.

- 57:16Speaker 2: A he man? I remember being like, oh my god, that's.
- 57:20Speaker 3: Yeah, it's really really cool. Okay, be careful with that.
- 57:23Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, okay, Helen, gently, gently, Eddie.
- 57:26Speaker 3: We'll get to the cards in a second.

- 57:36Speaker 3: So as you can sell.
- 57:41Speaker 2: This is the best football I've ever got. I forgot.
- 57:44Speaker 2: So I told you there are two kinds of football,
- 57:46Speaker 2: as they do. There's the white ones, which are cool.
- 57:48Speaker 3: Huh.
- 57:48Speaker 2: But this is better than a white one. It's a
- 57:49Speaker 2: game ball, now, not that it's been played with, but
- 57:52Speaker 2: it's a game ball that exactly they use. So they
- 57:54Speaker 2: wrap it in cell a phane. So I'm just gonna
- 57:56Speaker 2: show you the game ball. So it's a literal NFL ball.
- 57:59Speaker 3: That's so cool.
- 57:59Speaker 2: And so it's all all brown or whatever.
- 58:02Speaker 3: Huh. Who's on there?

- 58:28Speaker 2: if you look that up, I think that's like five hundred,
- 58:30Speaker 2: six hundred bucks. I think that Brett Farv signed NFL ball,
- 58:35Speaker 2: not the white one, dude, it's called a duke football.
- 58:38Speaker 3: That's cool because that's the duke, the original NFL Duke.
