Latest / Michelle Explains Anime, Poorly / 86 [Eighty-Six] Ep.18- The Truth Is
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, it's your person. I guess, Michelle. Maybe I'm back
- 0:05Speaker 1: because that's what happens usually every week, I guess. So
- 0:10Speaker 1: I wanted to talk briefly about the summer season of
- 0:14Speaker 1: anime that's happening right now, because I feel like I
- 0:18Speaker 1: should at least a little bit not gonna be long,
- 0:20Speaker 1: just gonna very like briefly go over what I've been
- 0:23Speaker 1: watching and what I'm kind of interested in. There's like
- 0:25Speaker 1: five things or six things, so really not long, I promise.
- 0:28Speaker 1: So there are a couple of things that have like
- 0:30Speaker 1: season two's that I'm really excited about or kind of
- 0:33Speaker 1: excited about. The first one is Call of the Night
- 0:36Speaker 1: Yo Fukashinota, which like is so weird. If you don't
- 0:40Speaker 1: know about Call of the Night. It's about a like
- 0:43Speaker 1: fourteen year old boy who like starts going out at
- 0:47Speaker 1: night in like skipping school during the day, and he
- 0:49Speaker 1: meets like a vampire and they become like really good friends,
- 0:53Speaker 1: and he wants to be a vampire too. That's what
- 0:57Speaker 1: it's about. I really like it. Is it maybe a
- 1:01Speaker 1: little too sexual to have this fourteen year old hanging
- 1:03Speaker 1: out with like this who knows how old female vampire?
- 1:08Speaker 1: Maybe maybe it wears me out a little bit, but
- 1:10Speaker 1: the first episode of the second season was pretty good
- 1:13Speaker 1: and just the art in general, the backgrounds in this
- 1:16Speaker 1: endemy are just gorgeous. So I'm really excited to, you know,
- 1:20Speaker 1: pick back up because I really like the first season,
- 1:22Speaker 1: even though it's a little weird. Another thing I'm gonna
- 1:25Speaker 1: start watching, but I haven't started watching yet because I
- 1:28Speaker 1: fell asleep as soon as I started watching it, which
- 1:31Speaker 1: is not a good sign, is the second season of
- 1:34Speaker 1: Kaiju Number eight, which that's the second season of Kaiju
- 1:38Speaker 1: Number eight, Like it's about a guy who turned into
- 1:40Speaker 1: a kaiju. I. You know, either you've seen it and
- 1:43Speaker 1: you like it or you haven't. I think most people
- 1:46Speaker 1: liked it. I thought it was pretty good, not amazing,
- 1:48Speaker 1: but pretty good. So I'm excited to see where it goes.
- 1:52Speaker 1: And then the last season two type thing that I'm
- 1:55Speaker 1: looking forward to is Don Danaan, which I have seen
- 1:58Speaker 1: the first episode of the new season of already, and yeah,
- 2:02Speaker 1: it was really good. Animation was like stellar, looks to
- 2:06Speaker 1: me like a lot like mob Cycle one hundred animation wise,
- 2:10Speaker 1: especially with like some of the characters that were specifically
- 2:13Speaker 1: in the first episode, so that makes me super happy.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Is it as good as mob Psyco one hundred? No,
- 2:19Speaker 1: it's never gonna be that good, but it's fun, and yeah,
- 2:24Speaker 1: it's pretty good, so I'm when we be watching that yay.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Then for new things, we have Gotchyakuda, which is, you know,
- 2:32Speaker 1: based on a shown in manga about a kid who
- 2:35Speaker 1: is tossed into a pit of garbage and then he
- 2:37Speaker 1: makes garbage weapons and fights garbage monsters. I believe I've
- 2:41Speaker 1: only read like the first couple of chapters and I
- 2:44Speaker 1: thought it was like pretty good, but none of the
- 2:46Speaker 1: characters connected with me and the story wasn't either, so
- 2:50Speaker 1: I didn't continue reading. But like, I have really really
- 2:53Speaker 1: weird standards when it comes to manga that I don't
- 2:56Speaker 1: with anime, Like I have to connect to a character
- 2:59Speaker 1: in or I'm not gonna like it at all. And
- 3:02Speaker 1: it can't be like overly wordy or have like too
- 3:05Speaker 1: much exposition, like if I see a page that's just
- 3:08Speaker 1: like almost all words at the beginning, like I'm out,
- 3:11Speaker 1: I'm probably not gonna enjoy it. So I'm not sure
- 3:14Speaker 1: what it was about this that made me not but
- 3:17Speaker 1: I'm still really excited to see it as an anime.
- 3:20Speaker 1: I was going to watch it last night, but I
- 3:22Speaker 1: fell asleep not while watching it, so that's good. But
- 3:26Speaker 1: it's also done by Studio Bones or Bones Film. I
- 3:30Speaker 1: don't know they're calling themselves that now or whatever, but
- 3:34Speaker 1: I like Studio Bones a lot, and I believe that
- 3:39Speaker 1: Heroshi Seco is on script and serious composition, which, if
- 3:44Speaker 1: you have been paying attention at all, he's my favorite
- 3:46Speaker 1: scriptwriter just ever. He's done Mobsite Go one hundred, He's
- 3:51Speaker 1: currently doing Don Dadan, he did Banana Fish, something else
- 3:56Speaker 1: we've already seen but I can't remember what it is,
- 4:00Speaker 1: but I just I love him, so I'm excited. Hopefully
- 4:05Speaker 1: I enjoyed more than I enjoyed the manga. Two more things,
- 4:09Speaker 1: I promise I'm almost done. There's the Summer he Coud Died,
- 4:12Speaker 1: which we've talked about a little bit because I was
- 4:14Speaker 1: thinking about doing it on the podcast and then I
- 4:16Speaker 1: kind of decided not to. But who really knows what
- 4:19Speaker 1: will happen next. But yeah, it's kind of like a
- 4:22Speaker 1: horror anime where this kid has to deal with the
- 4:26Speaker 1: fact that his friend is dead but something else is
- 4:28Speaker 1: in his friend's body and figure out how to navigate
- 4:32Speaker 1: his life. With this thing that really likes him, but
- 4:36Speaker 1: isn't the thing that he really liked his friend. So
- 4:40Speaker 1: it's exciting. So far, it looks really good. I've only
- 4:42Speaker 1: seen the first episode so far because as of right now,
- 4:45Speaker 1: that's all that exists in the world. And then finally,
- 4:50Speaker 1: what I'm really excited about is Tacobie's Original Sin, which
- 4:55Speaker 1: I have not read the manga of, but I was
- 4:57Speaker 1: told it would be really really dark, and it is,
- 5:01Speaker 1: And so far there's two episodes out, and I mean,
- 5:04Speaker 1: I can give you like a really brief synopsis without
- 5:07Speaker 1: like spoiling things, I guess, but like basically, it's about
- 5:11Speaker 1: this alien that looks like a pink cartoon octopus. It
- 5:15Speaker 1: comes from a like a happy planet that might be
- 5:17Speaker 1: called Planet Happy I don't remember right now, and is
- 5:21Speaker 1: traveling through the galaxy to spread happiness. And he ends
- 5:24Speaker 1: up on Earth and he meets this like twelve year
- 5:28Speaker 1: old or something in a park and she is totally
- 5:34Speaker 1: miserable and he wants to cheer her up. Yay, that
- 5:39Speaker 1: sounds like maybe that could be nice. It's not nice
- 5:41Speaker 1: because he's he's like an alien and he doesn't understand
- 5:46Speaker 1: like the world at all, and he just happened to
- 5:50Speaker 1: find like the one person that's you know, both really
- 5:54Speaker 1: need his help and that he really couldn't help very well.
- 5:59Speaker 1: So that's all I'm gonna say. I thought the first
- 6:01Speaker 1: episode was like really good, but it was exactly what
- 6:04Speaker 1: I expected and nothing more kind of, I mean, I
- 6:06Speaker 1: didn't exactly expect it, but like the tone and shit,
- 6:09Speaker 1: so I was just kind of like, eh, you know,
- 6:11Speaker 1: it's real sad and shit, but like, is this really
- 6:13Speaker 1: gonna do anything for me and you know, make me
- 6:16Speaker 1: enjoy it? But then the second episode was just amazing,
- 6:19Speaker 1: and I'm like so excited, and I think it's a
- 6:21Speaker 1: really short anime too, because I know that the manga
- 6:24Speaker 1: only is like twelve chapters or something, so I just
- 6:27Speaker 1: want to know where it goes. I'm really excited about that.
- 6:29Speaker 1: So that's my like top thing that I'm interested in
- 6:31Speaker 1: right now, and of course it would be. So that's
- 6:35Speaker 1: enough of that. That was like seven minutes, and I'm sorry.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Let's talk about eighty six, episode eighteen, which is called
- 6:43Speaker 1: The Truth Is And I didn't find where that was
- 6:46Speaker 1: said in the episode, so hopefully I can find it
- 6:49Speaker 1: when I read through. Anyway, if you remember from the
- 6:51Speaker 1: last episode we ended with like really fucked up sand
- 6:55Speaker 1: Magnolia District one and I think specifically Lena's room with
- 7:01Speaker 1: like the curtains all messed up and the windows broken,
- 7:04Speaker 1: so yay or something. We don't pick up there, so
- 7:07Speaker 1: I don't know what happened, just what I wanted. We
- 7:10Speaker 1: start on a close up of ernst eye and we
- 7:13Speaker 1: hear someone saying for those reasons, we've selected the five
- 7:17Speaker 1: eighty six as well as the rest of Nordlich. We
- 7:20Speaker 1: have a close up on someone else's eye, kind of
- 7:22Speaker 1: like looking down and a little bit concerned, and the
- 7:25Speaker 1: voice continues for the mission to destroy the morfo. We
- 7:28Speaker 1: see a tablet with the roster of Doorlich on it,
- 7:30Speaker 1: but we can only see spearhead because they're at the top,
- 7:33Speaker 1: and we go to a different shot now at Ernst
- 7:35Speaker 1: and this other guy are like sitting across from each
- 7:38Speaker 1: other in his office like couches, and it's September second,
- 7:42Speaker 1: twenty one, forty nine, which is I believe where we
- 7:44Speaker 1: left off. Anyway, the guy says, this is my formal
- 7:48Speaker 1: decision as the Western Theater commander, even you don't have
- 7:50Speaker 1: the right to overrule. Ernst cuts him off. I know
- 7:53Speaker 1: that I was ready for it, but I want to
- 7:56Speaker 1: know one thing. The guy looks pretty concerned and earns
- 8:00Speaker 1: as General, this isn't a year late attempt at disinfection,
- 8:05Speaker 1: is it. Fuck. The general kind of gasps me too, General,
- 8:10Speaker 1: that was real blunt, and Ernest continues, there's no way
- 8:13Speaker 1: those children, especially just the five of them, can break
- 8:16Speaker 1: through legion controlled territory. Some of the officers had said
- 8:20Speaker 1: right when we took them in they would be better
- 8:22Speaker 1: to eliminate them for the safety of the federacy. You
- 8:25Speaker 1: were one of them. Oh shit. This general dude looks
- 8:29Speaker 1: pretty concerned because yeah, you remember that, and Ernest continues,
- 8:34Speaker 1: I won't deny your wish to protect what you care for. However,
- 8:38Speaker 1: this nation is built on justice. It's not acceptable for
- 8:42Speaker 1: a human to try to have their way using violence
- 8:44Speaker 1: instead of words. So I'm asking you you can assure
- 8:48Speaker 1: me that this isn't what it looks like, can't you? Fuck?
- 8:52Speaker 1: The General dude kind of is silent for a moment,
- 8:55Speaker 1: and then he says, of course, but I want to
- 8:58Speaker 1: hear your thoughts. Ernest two is actually pretty upbeat through
- 9:02Speaker 1: all this, says on what the General's like, They're not
- 9:06Speaker 1: poor pitiful children. They're monsters created by the madness of
- 9:10Speaker 1: the battlefields. Are you willing to take them into your
- 9:12Speaker 1: beloved homeland? Is that really what the federacy should be? Yes?
- 9:17Speaker 1: Ernst is like, of course, those are my ideals and
- 9:21Speaker 1: the ideals of the nation that I lead. I speak
- 9:24Speaker 1: on behalf of the entire federacy. After all, I'm responsible
- 9:27Speaker 1: for executing my duties with pride and dignity. General is
- 9:30Speaker 1: silent for a second again and then says, understood, the
- 9:34Speaker 1: way you go to the opening theme, Yay, cool, I
- 9:37Speaker 1: can take this little pause to talk about that. So,
- 9:40Speaker 1: first of all, I just want to acknowledge how different
- 9:42Speaker 1: that is from San Magnolia. How Ernst looks at his
- 9:45Speaker 1: responsibility and the way that his nation's ideals come into play.
- 9:50Speaker 1: You know, like I guess he was elected. He speaks
- 9:52Speaker 1: for the nation, and he is not following the nation's wishes.
- 9:56Speaker 1: He is following the ideals that the nation wanted him
- 9:59Speaker 1: to fall, if that makes sense, Unlike sand Magnolia that
- 10:02Speaker 1: has very clear ideals that they're not following. So Ernst
- 10:06Speaker 1: is like, I'm gonna do exactly what I said I
- 10:08Speaker 1: was gonna do. I don't fucking care what you think,
- 10:11Speaker 1: and you know he's going to strive for a nation
- 10:15Speaker 1: that is welcoming and good and doesn't just turn away
- 10:20Speaker 1: children from other countries and shit, Whereas when we saw
- 10:24Speaker 1: with San Magnolia, specifically with Carl Stahl, he just deflects
- 10:29Speaker 1: everything like, well, it's a little of the nation, like, no,
- 10:32Speaker 1: you're an elected official, You're supposed to try to make
- 10:34Speaker 1: things better, right, and instead he uses it kind of
- 10:37Speaker 1: as a crutch. So I'm super happy that they are
- 10:41Speaker 1: in this country where Ernest is the president because he
- 10:44Speaker 1: at least wants to do good and he's pretty fucking
- 10:49Speaker 1: cool just talking to that general like that and asking
- 10:52Speaker 1: him point blank if he just wants to kill them.
- 10:55Speaker 1: But on the other hand, this scene bothered me a
- 10:58Speaker 1: little bit because the general dude who I don't know
- 11:01Speaker 1: what his name is, he's talking about spearhead like as monsters,
- 11:06Speaker 1: kind of dehumanizing again. So this is the second series
- 11:08Speaker 1: in a row that we've done lots of dehumanization of
- 11:10Speaker 1: the main characters. But it's a little bit confusing to
- 11:14Speaker 1: me because yeah, I mean, they're really good at piloting,
- 11:19Speaker 1: like Max with like lots of little legs like spider
- 11:22Speaker 1: type Max, But like, how does that make the monsters?
- 11:26Speaker 1: They're fighting like unmanned drones basically spearhead aside from shin
- 11:34Speaker 1: which you know, are extinguating circumstances, have not killed anyone,
- 11:39Speaker 1: not on the battlefield, not in their regular lives. As
- 11:41Speaker 1: far as I can tell, They're not monsters. So I'm
- 11:45Speaker 1: not really sure why the General feels this way and
- 11:48Speaker 1: why so many people do. It's more like they're just
- 11:51Speaker 1: really good at like driving cars or something. I don't know.
- 11:54Speaker 1: It just it struck me as I don't know, I
- 11:59Speaker 1: don't know how to take this, Like I don't know
- 12:00Speaker 1: if this is a writing problem or not, Like I
- 12:03Speaker 1: don't know if the narrative is making too big of
- 12:06Speaker 1: a deal of this, or if this is okay and
- 12:09Speaker 1: his perception, though stupid and wrong, would be valid and understandable.
- 12:14Speaker 1: For some reason, it just doesn't really work for me,
- 12:17Speaker 1: cause like, I don't know. That's really all I have
- 12:20Speaker 1: about that. So let's continue. So back from the opening,
- 12:24Speaker 1: we see a tablet with that roster on it again,
- 12:27Speaker 1: and General Richard is kind of like alone in his
- 12:31Speaker 1: dark office, like staring at it, and he sighs and
- 12:34Speaker 1: then looks up because he hears something and Greth is
- 12:36Speaker 1: opening the door and she's like, oh no, it's pitch black.
- 12:40Speaker 1: You'll damage your eyes. I don't actually know if that's true.
- 12:43Speaker 1: And also he only has one eye. She flips the
- 12:46Speaker 1: light on, and General Richard says, I'm not willing to
- 12:49Speaker 1: listen to any alternate plans. Greth is like, I know,
- 12:52Speaker 1: so I have a suggestion. She's walking over at his desk.
- 12:55Speaker 1: The reason you kept Nordlich Squadron split into smaller platoons
- 12:58Speaker 1: was to keep the rest of the Middle Harry from
- 13:00Speaker 1: realizing their strength, wasn't it, Richard. General Richard sighs, and
- 13:04Speaker 1: he's like, the republic weapons we captured Juggernauts, were they
- 13:08Speaker 1: whence you've seen the combat logs on them? It makes
- 13:11Speaker 1: you want to do that. He's looking at his own
- 13:14Speaker 1: reflection in his coffee. A blade that cuts too well
- 13:17Speaker 1: will either be avoided or used till it breaks. Fuck.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Either way, it won't end well. Greath's like, in the end,
- 13:24Speaker 1: your fears came true, though. General Richard sighs and puts
- 13:28Speaker 1: his cup down, and he's like, don't get too attached.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Even if we ever so kindly took them in. They'll
- 13:34Speaker 1: never forget the battlefield, probably true, GREATH says, I don't
- 13:38Speaker 1: know about that. General Richard's like, hmm. Breath continues. There's
- 13:43Speaker 1: still kids in their mid teens right now. They're not
- 13:46Speaker 1: used to their new environment. It's all they can do
- 13:48Speaker 1: to protect themselves. She looks really sadly at their faces
- 13:52Speaker 1: on the roster. But someday they may get used to
- 13:55Speaker 1: this type of country and long to have the things
- 13:57Speaker 1: that were stolen from them. And even if they still
- 14:00Speaker 1: to choose to live on the battlefield, it should be
- 14:03Speaker 1: their decision to make. I'll wait until then. However many
- 14:06Speaker 1: years it takes. General Richard's like, do you have a
- 14:09Speaker 1: duty to go that far? GREATH says, of course, it's
- 14:14Speaker 1: our responsibility for arrogantly trying to save our fellow humans
- 14:17Speaker 1: the same way we would a drowning puppy. General Richard says,
- 14:20Speaker 1: And do you think a bloody blade forged and honedwn
- 14:23Speaker 1: the battlefields can understand human feelings? What? GREATH says, We've
- 14:28Speaker 1: made the same bet before. Do you remember I won then?
- 14:32Speaker 1: General Richards shrugs, and the Legion took all your winnings.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Greath's like, yeah, she takes out a necklace that was
- 14:39Speaker 1: like under her shirt, and she holds it up and
- 14:42Speaker 1: she's looking at it. General Richard kind of like furrows
- 14:44Speaker 1: his brow and clears his throat, and we see like
- 14:48Speaker 1: what the necklace actually is now, and it is a
- 14:50Speaker 1: dog tag for someone whose name starts with then and
- 14:53Speaker 1: then I see GREATH, because it's like cut off. There's
- 14:56Speaker 1: like tape over part of it, so I can't see
- 14:58Speaker 1: the whole name. And also on the chain is a
- 15:02Speaker 1: wedding ring. Ah, poor Greth. General Richard says, Greth, you
- 15:08Speaker 1: simply see the dead in them, that's all. You see
- 15:11Speaker 1: what you could never have back. Greth looks up at
- 15:14Speaker 1: him and says, so what if I do? Oh? Yeah,
- 15:17Speaker 1: so what? General Richard kind of like looks away, and
- 15:21Speaker 1: GREATH continues, If you're that worried, then this will make
- 15:24Speaker 1: things a little easier. Those slow transport helicopters aren't appropriate
- 15:29Speaker 1: for my Reaganlyaf's big mission. We get a close up
- 15:32Speaker 1: on our eyes. Give me permission to use it. General
- 15:35Speaker 1: Richard kind of looks upset, and then he sighs and
- 15:38Speaker 1: says it huh. We cut to lots of folks standing
- 15:43Speaker 1: outside a hanger. I guess, I'm not sure is September thirteenth,
- 15:48Speaker 1: so about ten days later in twenty one forty nine,
- 15:51Speaker 1: And a big door kind of raises mechanically, and in
- 15:57Speaker 1: the crowd is Spearhead and also Greth and some just
- 16:00Speaker 1: random dude says, I never thought i'd see the day
- 16:03Speaker 1: that they open the sealed door. That brown haired girl
- 16:05Speaker 1: that we've seen before says, sometimes living a long time
- 16:08Speaker 1: has its benefits. Theo's like the sealed door. Great says,
- 16:13Speaker 1: that's what some call it. I mean it's a sealed door,
- 16:17Speaker 1: so that sounds about right. Frederica says, if it's sealed,
- 16:21Speaker 1: then it should be left that way. Okay. Greath's like,
- 16:26Speaker 1: now let's go. Everybody starts to walk forward towards the door,
- 16:30Speaker 1: and then we see them in an elevator clearly going down,
- 16:34Speaker 1: and Andrew and THEO are like looking around confused, and
- 16:37Speaker 1: Frederica says, what is this. It's it's an elevator. Gret's
- 16:43Speaker 1: like an old Imperial Air Force hangar for a prototype.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Frederica is not looking pressed right and says a prototype plane.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Greath's like, that's right. It completed its test flights and
- 16:55Speaker 1: was about to enter mass production when the war started
- 16:57Speaker 1: and the base was temporarily abandoned to THEO says, this
- 17:01Speaker 1: place is right next to the border. Theo's like, I
- 17:04Speaker 1: guess the Legion took it over real quick, huh. The
- 17:06Speaker 1: elevator lands in this massive, massive underground hangar and they're
- 17:11Speaker 1: all walking out of the elevator and through it now,
- 17:14Speaker 1: and it's like really really dark, and I think Breath
- 17:16Speaker 1: has a flashlight, and Chin says, why is it underground?
- 17:21Speaker 1: Breath's like a bunch of reasons. It's safer for bombing
- 17:24Speaker 1: this way. She opens the cover like the door of
- 17:28Speaker 1: a circuit breaker panel and continues it also means the
- 17:32Speaker 1: Legion didn't take it. She flips on the breakers and
- 17:34Speaker 1: the lights come on, and there is this large what
- 17:38Speaker 1: I thought was a triangular ship thing, but I think
- 17:42Speaker 1: it's just a bad shot, and a bunch of people
- 17:44Speaker 1: like gasp because it's really big. And then we see
- 17:47Speaker 1: what it is. It is like this. I don't know
- 17:50Speaker 1: how to describe it. It's a plane. It almost to
- 17:53Speaker 1: me looks like it's stingray shaped, like it's got a
- 17:55Speaker 1: little head part, you know, front part in the middle,
- 17:58Speaker 1: and then these big wings. But it's like multiple stories tall,
- 18:01Speaker 1: like there's scaffolding up to like the main kind of
- 18:05Speaker 1: cockpit area, and it looks like you have to go
- 18:07Speaker 1: around lots and lots of stairs. So it's real, real
- 18:10Speaker 1: big and gray. It's also gray anyway. Greth says, this
- 18:14Speaker 1: is the XC one notch zer Notcher something like that.
- 18:19Speaker 1: I don't know, a prototype ground effect vehicle. It's still
- 18:23Speaker 1: sleeping right now though she winks cornas like it flies
- 18:28Speaker 1: right and says ground defect vehicle. Greath continues, it's a
- 18:33Speaker 1: plane that uses ground effect, which occurs when you stay
- 18:35Speaker 1: right above the ground to fly, so like a hovercraft
- 18:39Speaker 1: actually sort of, but not exactly. She continues. It can
- 18:43Speaker 1: get you to the Morpho far faster than a transport helicopter.
- 18:47Speaker 1: On you's like, I think I heard you say, like
- 18:51Speaker 1: right above the ground, GREATH says, yeah, it only flies
- 18:54Speaker 1: a few meters above the ground. Uh what on? You
- 18:59Speaker 1: and some of the others start to look kind of
- 19:00Speaker 1: freaked out about this, and GREATH says it flies lower
- 19:03Speaker 1: than a cruise missile, making it hard for radar and
- 19:06Speaker 1: anti aircraft missiles to locate. That's the power of the
- 19:09Speaker 1: notch not sir, I don't know, Sorry, guys, Frederica is like,
- 19:17Speaker 1: what an awful name. Deo's like, what Frederica continues. A
- 19:21Speaker 1: Notch Server I don't know is an old vampire legend
- 19:27Speaker 1: from the southeast part of the Federacy. It rises from
- 19:30Speaker 1: the grave and wanders the graveyard while dragging a shadow
- 19:33Speaker 1: behind it, and it rings the church bell. And there's
- 19:36Speaker 1: like a poster or sticker of the Notch Server vampire
- 19:40Speaker 1: like plastered on the Notch Server plane. So that's pretty
- 19:44Speaker 1: cool anyway. THEO says, yeah, that is a nasty name. Wait,
- 19:49Speaker 1: we'll run into buildings if we're just a few meters
- 19:51Speaker 1: off the ground. Greath's like, the mission takes place in
- 19:55Speaker 1: former Imperial territory. We have the geographic data. The Legion
- 19:59Speaker 1: doesn't make homes, so we'll be fine, I hope, so right,
- 20:03Speaker 1: And it's like, what about the Legion themselves? Greath says
- 20:08Speaker 1: we'll avoid them. Of course you can do that, right,
- 20:10Speaker 1: Lieutenant nosen Sen says, I can tell you where they are,
- 20:15Speaker 1: but will it really work? Greath's like, this thing can't
- 20:18Speaker 1: exactly turn on a dime, so we'll have problems if
- 20:21Speaker 1: we get ambushed. But the Three Country Alliance will be
- 20:25Speaker 1: handling most of the enemies, so we don't need to worry.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Frederica's like, and then what if we do get to
- 20:32Speaker 1: the morpho, can we win? And even if we do win,
- 20:36Speaker 1: we'll be in the middle of enemy territory. How will
- 20:39Speaker 1: we get back? She looks pretty pissed off, and everyone
- 20:42Speaker 1: is just in silence because, yeah, we get a shot
- 20:46Speaker 1: of on Ju theo. Karina and Ryding's like very knowing
- 20:49Speaker 1: eyes as they know that this is a mission that
- 20:52Speaker 1: they're not supposed to come back from. And then we
- 20:54Speaker 1: see someone but I don't know who, make a fist
- 20:57Speaker 1: with their hand in their pockets, and greath says, well,
- 21:01Speaker 1: Shin cuts her off. It's more important to take out
- 21:04Speaker 1: the Morpho than worry about how we get back. Frederica's like,
- 21:07Speaker 1: but Shin says, are you going to ignore it? Frederica gasps.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Shin continues, you don't need me to tell you what
- 21:15Speaker 1: the result will be. Frederica kind of looks at the
- 21:18Speaker 1: ground and righton says that said. You seem to take
- 21:21Speaker 1: it for granted that this thing flies. But Corna butts in,
- 21:26Speaker 1: who's gonna pilot it? Greath's like, huh, who else Corina
- 21:32Speaker 1: looks confused, and she points to herself like like me,
- 21:35Speaker 1: Greath points to the gold winged pin like on her
- 21:39Speaker 1: jacket and it like shines like sparkles, and she's like me.
- 21:43Speaker 1: No one says anything, and so then she's like, what
- 21:46Speaker 1: do you think? THEO says, this isn't the time for jokes, right,
- 21:50Speaker 1: and it's like, who's really gonna do it? Breath says me,
- 21:54Speaker 1: as I said, there's like laughing now amongst everyone. It chattered,
- 21:58Speaker 1: but Frederica is stamp gripping her uniform tightly, and Greth
- 22:03Speaker 1: says it's really me, and we hear people saying, like,
- 22:05Speaker 1: you're joking, that's ridiculous. Well, Frederica looks progressively more upsets,
- 22:10Speaker 1: and Greath once again says it's really me. We see
- 22:14Speaker 1: Frederica put her head down, and then we transition to
- 22:17Speaker 1: a shot of her head down on that horrible fucking
- 22:19Speaker 1: bear in a dark room. There's a knock on the door.
- 22:22Speaker 1: It's October seventh, twenty one forty nine. We see that
- 22:26Speaker 1: she's sitting on her bed with her knees up like
- 22:29Speaker 1: at her chest and her head on that gross, scary
- 22:32Speaker 1: bear and she doesn't move at all. When she hears
- 22:35Speaker 1: the knox, and then we hear another set of knocks.
- 22:38Speaker 1: She finally says, come in. The door opens and its Shin,
- 22:42Speaker 1: and he just kind of stands in the doorway, and
- 22:44Speaker 1: he says, Frederica. Frederica's like, I'm not leaving. Shin's quiet
- 22:49Speaker 1: for a second, and then he says, I came because
- 22:51Speaker 1: I heard you were throwing a tantrum about not leaving. Frederica,
- 22:54Speaker 1: whose head is still buried in the bear abomination, says,
- 22:58Speaker 1: it's not a tantrum. I'm a member of Northlich two.
- 23:02Speaker 1: Why do I have to be the only one to leave?
- 23:04Speaker 1: Probably because you're ten. It wouldn't be allowed anyway. You
- 23:08Speaker 1: haven't forgotten what I said about mascots being hostages, right?
- 23:12Speaker 1: Fuck she knows too. Shin's like an exception would be
- 23:15Speaker 1: made for the president's daughter. Frederica kind of gasps and says,
- 23:20Speaker 1: but why are you suddenly saying this. You're the one
- 23:23Speaker 1: that said that no one else has the right to
- 23:25Speaker 1: decide how you live. Shin's like, I also said it's
- 23:29Speaker 1: best not to get involved in someone's death if you
- 23:31Speaker 1: don't have to. Fuck. Frederica, who had slightly raised her
- 23:35Speaker 1: head buries it back in the bear. Shin continues and
- 23:40Speaker 1: the door shuts. Frederica looks up and Shin is still there,
- 23:43Speaker 1: but inside the room now but basically at the door,
- 23:46Speaker 1: and he continues, I remember its voice. I don't need
- 23:49Speaker 1: you to show me. Frederica scowls, and she stands on
- 23:52Speaker 1: the bed and she's like, it should be the other
- 23:54Speaker 1: way around. I'm the one with the relationship to Curtia.
- 23:57Speaker 1: You should be the ones to go home. I'll talk
- 23:59Speaker 1: to you. Managed to survive those awful battles in the
- 24:02Speaker 1: eighty sixth district. You can't die in a plan like this.
- 24:05Speaker 1: I'll handle this. Shin's like, you can see your Night,
- 24:09Speaker 1: but not the other legion in your head. You and
- 24:12Speaker 1: everyone else will die. Frederica's like, but Shin is now
- 24:17Speaker 1: like walking over to her, and he looks kind of disgusted,
- 24:20Speaker 1: and we have this kind of weird Dutch angle going on,
- 24:23Speaker 1: and he continues, why are you so insistent on sending
- 24:26Speaker 1: us back to the rear? Frederica gasps. Shin, who is
- 24:30Speaker 1: standing over her now, says, didn't you want us to
- 24:33Speaker 1: kill your Night? Or maybe you don't really want him
- 24:36Speaker 1: dead at all? Jeez, Frederica looks terrified, and she's kind
- 24:40Speaker 1: of sweating, and she looks away and shakes her head no,
- 24:43Speaker 1: and Shin says, then go home and forget it. He
- 24:47Speaker 1: turns to leave. You don't want to end up like me, right,
- 24:49Speaker 1: Frederica gasps, and what about you? Whom do you think
- 24:54Speaker 1: you're talking to? She throws the bear at him, and
- 24:57Speaker 1: it hits him in the shoulder, but like bounces off,
- 24:59Speaker 1: and then it hits the I switch like turning them on,
- 25:02Speaker 1: and we see the room now very clearly, and there
- 25:05Speaker 1: are so many of her drawings on the wall, like
- 25:08Speaker 1: her little crayon and pencil drawings, and it's like all
- 25:12Speaker 1: her together with Spearhead and Katy. Yeah, she doesn't want
- 25:16Speaker 1: you to die. Shin is standing like right at the
- 25:19Speaker 1: door now facing it, and Frederica continues, You followed your
- 25:23Speaker 1: own brother onto the battlefield and slew his ghost. Why
- 25:26Speaker 1: are you telling me that I can't chase my own ghosts?
- 25:29Speaker 1: Why are you telling me I can't achieve my goal?
- 25:32Speaker 1: You realize on some level that having no goal, no
- 25:34Speaker 1: place to call home, clinging only the pride to keep
- 25:36Speaker 1: you alive is what made that pathetic ghost what he
- 25:39Speaker 1: is Shin looks over at the drawing that Frederica did
- 25:44Speaker 1: of herself, Shin, and Katy. Then we kind of focus
- 25:47Speaker 1: in on Kitty, but then it fades back into Shin.
- 25:51Speaker 1: Frederica continues, do you want to end up the same way?
- 25:55Speaker 1: It's it's too late, Fredrika. Shin says, I'm not your knights.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Frederica gasps. Shin continues, You're free to see me in
- 26:04Speaker 1: him if you like. Frederica scowls. Shin says, but I
- 26:09Speaker 1: don't want to be forced to join in your regret,
- 26:11Speaker 1: and atonements. Frederica's like, you don't understand I'm telling you
- 26:15Speaker 1: not to go. Why don't you obey me? You impuede
- 26:18Speaker 1: in fool. She's kind of like stamping around. Now you
- 26:22Speaker 1: regret not telling your brother not to go, right, you
- 26:24Speaker 1: still regret that he went to his death without you
- 26:26Speaker 1: saying anything. Shin's eye twitches. Frederica continues, so, why are
- 26:31Speaker 1: you trying to do the same thing he did? Shin
- 26:34Speaker 1: looks away. His hand is still on the door handle,
- 26:37Speaker 1: and Frederica continues, why are you trying to make me
- 26:40Speaker 1: suffer as your brother made you suffer? Okay, it's not
- 26:43Speaker 1: the same thing. There's a pause. Shin turns back and
- 26:47Speaker 1: sees that Frederica has tears streaming down her face and says, Frederica.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Frederica is like, don't go Shine. She walks towards him.
- 26:58Speaker 1: I don't want you to die like Katy. She puts
- 27:00Speaker 1: her hands like around his arm, the one that's on
- 27:03Speaker 1: the door handle, like to try to pull it off.
- 27:06Speaker 1: I don't want I don't want any more people to die.
- 27:10Speaker 1: I don't want to lose another big brother. She kind
- 27:13Speaker 1: of rubs her head into Shin's back. We see Shin
- 27:15Speaker 1: in the drawing and then back to real Shin looking
- 27:18Speaker 1: super fucking stoic. Frederica finally just kind of begins to
- 27:22Speaker 1: release his arm, and then we see the title card.
- 27:25Speaker 1: The truth is, so, I guess do you want to
- 27:29Speaker 1: talk about that now or not? Let's talk about it
- 27:33Speaker 1: right now, because we just finished it and we went
- 27:35Speaker 1: to the title card. So yeah, I mean, it's it's
- 27:40Speaker 1: pretty obvious that Frederica just doesn't want them to die
- 27:43Speaker 1: and is very afraid that that's what's gonna happen, because
- 27:46Speaker 1: it kind of looks like that's what's gonna happen. She
- 27:48Speaker 1: still has this thing where she's comparing Shin to Kitty
- 27:51Speaker 1: in a way that doesn't make sense, but she's like
- 27:53Speaker 1: missing the way that they're actually similar, which is that
- 27:56Speaker 1: he doesn't have any goal, he doesn't have a real
- 27:58Speaker 1: home anymore, and the only thing he really has his pride.
- 28:01Speaker 1: He's just like a shell of himself. So yeah, Shin
- 28:06Speaker 1: is already there, way there, But I don't think that's
- 28:09Speaker 1: gonna make him a horrible, scary monster or something. And honestly,
- 28:13Speaker 1: it's got to be hard for him to have to
- 28:16Speaker 1: not tell her that she can't go because she shouldn't go,
- 28:19Speaker 1: because she's gonna fucking die if she goes, because she's ten,
- 28:22Speaker 1: But have to deal with her trying to stop him
- 28:26Speaker 1: so much when he knows he's the only person who
- 28:30Speaker 1: can do this, like he has to do it, even
- 28:32Speaker 1: if he's gonna hurt her by dying. He's got to
- 28:36Speaker 1: do it, like there's not a choice. That's kind of
- 28:40Speaker 1: not fair to put that on him, like there is one.
- 28:42Speaker 1: But she's ten, and she is so so attached to
- 28:46Speaker 1: him and the rest of Spearhead, So I get it,
- 28:49Speaker 1: because she doesn't have anything either, she doesn't have a
- 28:52Speaker 1: real home or a real goal, looks up to kill
- 28:54Speaker 1: her knight. So maybe she does, but she's lost so
- 28:57Speaker 1: much it would be sad if she had to lose anymore.
- 29:02Speaker 1: Oh well, anyway, back to what's going on. We see
- 29:06Speaker 1: some rigging leaves backing up into like a hatch place
- 29:09Speaker 1: in a notchi her or wherever that's pronounced. And it
- 29:12Speaker 1: is October ninth, twenty one, forty nine, or just two
- 29:14Speaker 1: days later. There are a lot of rigging leaves on
- 29:17Speaker 1: a truck two and Spearhead is like watching them go
- 29:20Speaker 1: in the big plane thing I want to say the
- 29:22Speaker 1: name of again, And Fido was there behind them, and
- 29:26Speaker 1: Augie says, I'm amazed that Frederica agreed not to go.
- 29:29Speaker 1: Karina is like, I don't think she agreed. THEO says
- 29:34Speaker 1: she's locked up in her room. She's not even coming
- 29:36Speaker 1: to see us off. It's a lot of exposition, guys right,
- 29:39Speaker 1: and says she's the only one getting left behind. That's
- 29:43Speaker 1: enough reason to be grumpy. Sen says, if she's not
- 29:46Speaker 1: going to the rear, it doesn't matter where she is.
- 29:49Speaker 1: They all sigh, and a voice says everybody. They all
- 29:53Speaker 1: look over and it's that brown haired girl. She's waving
- 29:55Speaker 1: and She's like, get on board, right, and says let's go.
- 29:59Speaker 1: They all start to wor away except for Shin, and
- 30:02Speaker 1: we hear Anju say yeah, and THEO like yawns and
- 30:06Speaker 1: he's like, okay, that's pretty much what he did. And
- 30:11Speaker 1: Karina is like, you're sleepy. THEO says, normally i'd be
- 30:14Speaker 1: asleep at this hour. Anji says, sleep on the plane.
- 30:19Speaker 1: Theo's like, I can't sleep on planes. Shin looks over
- 30:23Speaker 1: at Fido and he's like, let's go. Fido beeps and
- 30:27Speaker 1: nods and they start to head over. We see some
- 30:29Speaker 1: folks like standing around a thing that I don't really
- 30:31Speaker 1: know what it was, had like wrapped parts and it
- 30:33Speaker 1: kind of looked like an anchor, but I don't know.
- 30:35Speaker 1: I think it's a weapon, but I don't really know,
- 30:37Speaker 1: like I just said, and a guy says good luck.
- 30:41Speaker 1: The brown haired girl's like, I hope it doesn't get used. Yeah,
- 30:44Speaker 1: I don't know what it is. Next, there's a bunch
- 30:47Speaker 1: of raging leaps in like a red lit place, which
- 30:49Speaker 1: is I guess inside the plane thing, and we hear
- 30:54Speaker 1: this like really weird digital noise, and we hear Greth
- 30:57Speaker 1: say everyone's trapped. In next, there's a that's counting down
- 31:01Speaker 1: to like the mission start time, so it's at like
- 31:04Speaker 1: thirty minutes, thirty six seconds and the eighty six milliseconds
- 31:07Speaker 1: and going down. Some guys are like, yes, ma'am, we
- 31:11Speaker 1: hear Shinn say you were telling the truth about being
- 31:13Speaker 1: a pilot. Huh. Greth, who is sitting in the front
- 31:16Speaker 1: of the plane getting things ready and hitting some buttons,
- 31:19Speaker 1: is like, we don't have another choice. Most of the
- 31:22Speaker 1: old Air Forces pilots died in combat. I'm the only
- 31:26Speaker 1: one who ever flew with during the test flights. Shin's
- 31:28Speaker 1: like you mentioned being a former Air Force pilot. Greth's like,
- 31:33Speaker 1: you sound as though you totally forgot till now. Lieutenant,
- 31:36Speaker 1: I'm sure you forgot this too. Then her face falls.
- 31:40Speaker 1: We see Shin in his cockpit. Now, Greath continues, I'm
- 31:43Speaker 1: opposed to kids like you going out to fight T
- 31:46Speaker 1: eighty six, fighting to the end. Here is your source
- 31:48Speaker 1: of pride, your identity. We see the rest of Spearhead
- 31:51Speaker 1: in their cockpits, looking pretty solemn. Greath continues, But I'm
- 31:55Speaker 1: not giving up on this either. If you're going to
- 31:57Speaker 1: fight to the end, it's my job to fight alongside
- 31:59Speaker 1: you as well. This country you finally reached is far
- 32:02Speaker 1: from a utopia. Shin looks up and realizes that some
- 32:05Speaker 1: of the crew that is not going on the big
- 32:06Speaker 1: plane is waving at them and holding up a big
- 32:10Speaker 1: Federacy flag, which is green. If I haven't told you,
- 32:13Speaker 1: greath continues, but remember this, the big hatch door kind
- 32:17Speaker 1: of starts to close. Not a single person in this
- 32:19Speaker 1: country wants you to die in battle, eh. One of them,
- 32:23Speaker 1: as the door's closing, gives them a thumbs up. Greath continues,
- 32:27Speaker 1: We want you to stay alive. That goes for me,
- 32:30Speaker 1: the division commander, and the rest of the unit. Someone
- 32:33Speaker 1: kind of buzzes into Shins come and we hear a
- 32:35Speaker 1: voice say, and me too. Ernest pops onto Shin's screen.
- 32:40Speaker 1: He's like sitting at his desk and he says, hey,
- 32:43Speaker 1: it's been a while. How were you doing right? And
- 32:45Speaker 1: it's like, huh, what are you doing? Ernest stands I'm
- 32:49Speaker 1: here to cheer you on. Of course, I'm the highest
- 32:51Speaker 1: ranking officer in the Federacy Army. After all, the Federacy's people,
- 32:55Speaker 1: It's territory and its neighbors are all in danger. I
- 32:57Speaker 1: have to do at least this much. I actually, since
- 33:00Speaker 1: you're the core of the mission. Yes, we see the
- 33:04Speaker 1: planes start to move forward and people are kind of
- 33:06Speaker 1: directing it out, and then we hear Ernest say, Nordlich's
- 33:10Speaker 1: success in this mission will determine the fate of the Federacy,
- 33:14Speaker 1: the surrounding countries and humanity. Keep that in mind, and
- 33:18Speaker 1: make sure you destroy the morpho. The kind of hanger
- 33:21Speaker 1: door opens and reveals a dark runway ahead of them,
- 33:25Speaker 1: lit by like yellow lights on either side. Ernest continues,
- 33:28Speaker 1: we know you can do it. Shin very blankly says Roger.
- 33:32Speaker 1: Ernst is like, and one more thing, this is your
- 33:35Speaker 1: highest priority mission. They all kind of like look up
- 33:39Speaker 1: to hear what the highest priority mission is, and ern says,
- 33:42Speaker 1: come back alive, all of you. Huh. They don't look
- 33:48Speaker 1: happy about this, Like they have a couple of options
- 33:52Speaker 1: and one of them is lying and saying sure, and
- 33:54Speaker 1: they don't want to do that. And Are says we'll
- 33:57Speaker 1: do our best, but Curring is like, right, THEO says
- 34:01Speaker 1: we can't promise. We hear Ernest say that's not good enough.
- 34:05Speaker 1: Geez dude, you need to come back no matter what.
- 34:10Speaker 1: The doors are closing now behind the plane, and Ernst continues,
- 34:14Speaker 1: you're fighting to the end, right, so you need to
- 34:17Speaker 1: survive to the end of the war, so come back
- 34:20Speaker 1: no matter what. They all just kind of stare at
- 34:22Speaker 1: him and shin nods very slightly. The doors are now
- 34:26Speaker 1: closed completely, and Ernst turns off his calm and says
- 34:30Speaker 1: to himself, that's right, come back no matter what. He
- 34:34Speaker 1: starts to walk to the door or At this point,
- 34:38Speaker 1: the screen gets like super bright, like blinding bluish light
- 34:41Speaker 1: kind of like pours in from the windows. Absolutely supposed
- 34:45Speaker 1: to be artistic and not really happening. I'll destroy the world, fuck,
- 34:51Speaker 1: Ernst is going to destroy the world if they die. Yay.
- 34:55Speaker 1: We go to a bunch of feld ReBs or whatever
- 34:57Speaker 1: they are, and there's like some guys also out fields
- 35:00Speaker 1: behind like a trench and stuff like they would be,
- 35:03Speaker 1: and then some tank things and we see that timer again.
- 35:06Speaker 1: It is t minus five minutes, one second and fifty
- 35:11Speaker 1: milliseconds left until the mission starts. We hear a guy say,
- 35:15Speaker 1: mister President. Ernst is sitting in front of a large
- 35:18Speaker 1: map that has like all the little positions and little
- 35:21Speaker 1: icons on the screen, and he's in a pretty dark room,
- 35:23Speaker 1: and he says yes and stands let's get started. He
- 35:28Speaker 1: is like in front of these two microphones and he says, attention, comrades.
- 35:32Speaker 1: We see now that they're in like a really big
- 35:34Speaker 1: command room. And Ernth continues, the Western theater forces will
- 35:38Speaker 1: begin an all out march into Legion held territory. This
- 35:41Speaker 1: battle will not only determine the fate of the Federal
- 35:43Speaker 1: Republic of giod. We see those other two leaders on
- 35:46Speaker 1: screens near the countdown, but also those of the United
- 35:49Speaker 1: Kingdom of Roo, Gracia, the Alliance of Wald, and the
- 35:52Speaker 1: other nations whose cries for help we haven't even heard yet.
- 35:55Speaker 1: Some of the field rep like kind of stand up
- 35:57Speaker 1: outside now. Ernst continues, this is the greatest operation in
- 36:01Speaker 1: the history of humankind. I don't know about that, but
- 36:05Speaker 1: it's a big deal. You are the mighty shield that
- 36:07Speaker 1: defends your homeland and a sharp sword that cuts open
- 36:10Speaker 1: the future for humanity. We see the flag flapping in
- 36:14Speaker 1: the breeze. We will be the symbol of justice for
- 36:16Speaker 1: the world. Keep our successful battles close to your heart,
- 36:19Speaker 1: and advance bravely, valiantly. And everyone's like, yeah, we watched
- 36:24Speaker 1: the seconds tick down on the little timer thing from
- 36:27Speaker 1: fourteen to ten, and then we see that black haired
- 36:30Speaker 1: guy standing who I still don't know his name, and
- 36:32Speaker 1: then go to General Richards who is in a different
- 36:34Speaker 1: control room sitting with his hands folded over his mouth,
- 36:38Speaker 1: and then to the line of guys with like army
- 36:41Speaker 1: helmets on waiting to go, then a close up of
- 36:43Speaker 1: one of their eyes and a close up of someone's
- 36:46Speaker 1: hand holding a rifle. The clock beeps, and then it
- 36:49Speaker 1: starts counting up as the mission has started, and Ern says,
- 36:53Speaker 1: begin the mission. We see multiple people yelling fire and
- 36:58Speaker 1: then lots of like different things start firing, like mortars
- 37:01Speaker 1: and other things that I don't know what they're called.
- 37:03Speaker 1: And then we go to like a field or a
- 37:05Speaker 1: place where there's like lots of legions sitting around and
- 37:08Speaker 1: there's like a whistling sound of a bomb being dropped,
- 37:10Speaker 1: and a legion like stands up to figure out what's
- 37:13Speaker 1: going on, and a bomb just like fucking hits one
- 37:15Speaker 1: of them. It looks like maybe a bunch of bombs hit,
- 37:17Speaker 1: but we kind of had panned back, so I'm not sure.
- 37:20Speaker 1: But now like the non hurt legion like start to move,
- 37:23Speaker 1: and a guy in a Feldrb is like, let's go
- 37:25Speaker 1: in advance. So the fell Drebs start to advance as
- 37:29Speaker 1: they should. Ernst and the other people are watching solemnly
- 37:32Speaker 1: from the command center and Greth like kind of blows
- 37:36Speaker 1: on her hands, and this guy says, flywheels one and
- 37:39Speaker 1: two active temporary transformer operating normally. General Richard is looking on.
- 37:44Speaker 1: The guy continues initiating cooling catapult rails coolant units operating
- 37:48Speaker 1: at twenty three percent rising. Greth is like opening canopy,
- 37:52Speaker 1: deploying catapult rails. A big thing comes out of the ground,
- 37:58Speaker 1: like a runway like pops up out of the ground
- 38:00Speaker 1: or something. And the guy's like, all joints locked and deployed.
- 38:04Speaker 1: Not sure we're ready for takeoff. We go back to
- 38:07Speaker 1: those guys like shooting cannons and stuff, and there's a
- 38:10Speaker 1: guy there with binoculars and he gasps because in his
- 38:14Speaker 1: like maybe night vision binoculars. I don't know what they are.
- 38:16Speaker 1: He sees lots of shiny legion coming. I feel like
- 38:19Speaker 1: he would see them normally because they have lights on.
- 38:21Speaker 1: But whatever. Anyway, he says, I've been waiting for this year.
- 38:25Speaker 1: Pieces a scrap. He's like sweating though. Then we see
- 38:28Speaker 1: that map with like all the little icons on it,
- 38:30Speaker 1: and the legions suddenly start to spread out, and everyone
- 38:34Speaker 1: in the control room gasps, and that commander guy who
- 38:37Speaker 1: kind of wants Spearhead to die says they're on the move.
- 38:40Speaker 1: The dark haired guy puts his hand on like some
- 38:43Speaker 1: brown haired guy's shoulder next to him and nods, and
- 38:45Speaker 1: the brown haired guy says, Phase one complete. We've succeeded
- 38:49Speaker 1: in luring the Legion vanguard out of its position. We
- 38:51Speaker 1: will now move on to phase two. We cut to
- 38:54Speaker 1: General Richard's control room and we hear the guy continue
- 38:57Speaker 1: to say ty's HQ to la wor HQ not surer
- 39:01Speaker 1: you're cleared to take off? Some guys like Roger Greth
- 39:04Speaker 1: says okay, here we go, like the thrusters come on
- 39:08Speaker 1: on the notcherer and a guy says, not sure, take
- 39:11Speaker 1: off the lights on the runway thingy go from red
- 39:16Speaker 1: to green and they just blast forward. Shin grits his
- 39:20Speaker 1: teeth and they like come out of the tunnel and
- 39:23Speaker 1: they take off, but very very low. Andju is bracing
- 39:28Speaker 1: herself when she's like, this is a lot scarier than
- 39:30Speaker 1: I thought. THEO says, is the person that came up
- 39:34Speaker 1: with this crazy The plane is moaning like it can
- 39:37Speaker 1: barely handle the speed that it's going, and Greth says, oh,
- 39:42Speaker 1: it's an honor to have you say that. Oh shit,
- 39:44Speaker 1: it was her. I thought nothing scared you. It's a
- 39:47Speaker 1: little over one thousand kilometers to our goal. That's six
- 39:50Speaker 1: hundred and twenty one point three seven one miles. By
- 39:52Speaker 1: the way, enjoy our nine minutes or so in the sky.
- 39:55Speaker 1: Oh shit, it's really fast. That's like if it was
- 39:59Speaker 1: ten minutes, it would be one hundred kilometers an hour. Okay,
- 40:04Speaker 1: I think that's really fast. At least. We see that
- 40:07Speaker 1: screen again, and at this point the ending theme starts up,
- 40:10Speaker 1: but we don't get the ending animation type stuff, and
- 40:12Speaker 1: it always says not sure it has taken off successfully,
- 40:15Speaker 1: is proceeding as planned. I'm supposed to know which one
- 40:17Speaker 1: they are in the little symbols on the map, but
- 40:19Speaker 1: I can't figure it out. We see Ernst Clench's fists
- 40:23Speaker 1: now to the legion that are firing constantly. We hear
- 40:26Speaker 1: a voice say Unit four signal lost, and another one go,
- 40:31Speaker 1: we've lost contact with the second company completely. The third
- 40:34Speaker 1: one stay calm Unit one. You nit two keep going forward,
- 40:38Speaker 1: and a fourth one infantry after us, and another one
- 40:41Speaker 1: say retreat, and a sixth one say damn it. And
- 40:45Speaker 1: then they're just static. We were seeing all that from
- 40:48Speaker 1: the distance, by the way, like the plane is going
- 40:51Speaker 1: like forward, kind of on the horizon. And then there's
- 40:53Speaker 1: a firefight over to the right, so we're not really
- 40:56Speaker 1: seeing what's happening. And then a voice that I'm not
- 40:58Speaker 1: sure is in the action and might be at a
- 41:00Speaker 1: command center says, give me a damage report. The battle's
- 41:03Speaker 1: not over. If you have something you want to protect,
- 41:05Speaker 1: then fight. We see the ring leaves inside the plane.
- 41:08Speaker 1: The voice continues, raise your heads and go forward. Right,
- 41:11Speaker 1: It's like the Federacy isn't retreating. We see theo and
- 41:17Speaker 1: the voice continues, just a little more, just hang in
- 41:20Speaker 1: there a little more. We see AJUW and the voice continues,
- 41:24Speaker 1: and then those goddamn disgust the eighty six sol Onju
- 41:28Speaker 1: closes her eyes. Then we'll win. The line cuts the
- 41:32Speaker 1: static and Karina is like, yeah, if we take out
- 41:36Speaker 1: the morpho, we win. Right. We see that Chin's eyes
- 41:39Speaker 1: are closed and right and says we have to live
- 41:42Speaker 1: up to their expectations. Theo's like, yeah, if they're working hard,
- 41:46Speaker 1: an she says, yeah, there's kind of maybe laughter And
- 41:50Speaker 1: I wasn't really sure what was going on here, but
- 41:52Speaker 1: then Shin's eyes open and he sees the Legion symbols
- 41:55Speaker 1: approaching on his screen, and there's a lot of them,
- 41:58Speaker 1: and a bunch of like garbled, fucked up voices fade
- 42:02Speaker 1: in because it's Shin, remember, so I guess the laughing
- 42:04Speaker 1: was part of that. Then we just cut to his
- 42:07Speaker 1: mouth as he smiles. The ending theme is basically done
- 42:12Speaker 1: now and we finally get like an ending theme shot
- 42:14Speaker 1: and it's his smiling mouth that's in blue now, and
- 42:20Speaker 1: then the next episode title card special edition if there's
- 42:23Speaker 1: something worth dying for, and that's it. So closing thoughts again,
- 42:28Speaker 1: we will not be doing the special edition. It's like
- 42:30Speaker 1: episode eighteen point five or something. No, it's a recap
- 42:34Speaker 1: episode and we should probably talk about what's going on
- 42:38Speaker 1: and why there's all these special episodes. Yeah, the production
- 42:41Speaker 1: was not in good shape at this point. They were rushing,
- 42:44Speaker 1: just trying to keep up with things and they couldn't,
- 42:47Speaker 1: so lots and lots of recaps and so, yeah, if
- 42:50Speaker 1: you're watching a show and they just start doing recap episodes.
- 42:53Speaker 1: Something's probably wrong, So that's what's going on. They are
- 42:57Speaker 1: fighting to continue to put out a good quality show,
- 43:00Speaker 1: but it's they're just struggling, just like Spearhead. No, not
- 43:03Speaker 1: at all, actually, but you know, sort of not at all.
- 43:07Speaker 1: So anyway, the episode, Yeah, we already talked about a
- 43:11Speaker 1: lot of things I wanted to talk about, So I
- 43:14Speaker 1: guess they're going into Legion territory on the big flying craft,
- 43:18Speaker 1: which is a ground effect vehicle. They really do exist,
- 43:23Speaker 1: and this particular model is a reverse delta wing one,
- 43:26Speaker 1: which is why to me it looks like a sting
- 43:28Speaker 1: ray of some sort. But they're really good because they
- 43:32Speaker 1: have great fuel efficiency, like better than ular flying things
- 43:35Speaker 1: because of the ground effect, and they're really really fast
- 43:38Speaker 1: but they are flying basically almost on the ground, so
- 43:42Speaker 1: they can hit into things. Yeah, so they're really good
- 43:45Speaker 1: for like water and not so great for land. So
- 43:50Speaker 1: they're real and they really do go very fast. So
- 43:53Speaker 1: there you go. So they're flying in they're really fast
- 43:56Speaker 1: ground effect vehicle with the name that I don't even
- 43:58Speaker 1: want to try to pronounce again, and hopefully things are
- 44:01Speaker 1: gonna be okay, but it doesn't sound like things are
- 44:04Speaker 1: going okay for the Federacy, not for their army. That
- 44:07Speaker 1: is the non Nordlich part of it. So there's just
- 44:11Speaker 1: a couple of things I wanted to bring up. One
- 44:13Speaker 1: of them is kind of a continuation of talking about
- 44:16Speaker 1: how everybody really hates them, and I was going to
- 44:19Speaker 1: say that I think it's overblown that I don't think
- 44:21Speaker 1: they've done enough to warrant that, kind of like I
- 44:24Speaker 1: did earlier. But that's kind of how people are, right.
- 44:27Speaker 1: People just hate people for no good reason, especially people
- 44:30Speaker 1: that aren't like them, cause it's I don't know, Well,
- 44:34Speaker 1: for one, people are kind of tribal and we used
- 44:37Speaker 1: to live in very small groups, so we're suspicious of outsiders.
- 44:40Speaker 1: But yeah, I don't know if there was a two,
- 44:43Speaker 1: it's not good. But yeah, I'll believe it. I'll believe
- 44:48Speaker 1: that these five kids who've literally done nothing wrong have
- 44:51Speaker 1: come into this other country and been demonized. Sounds like
- 44:55Speaker 1: a thing. And I mean when they were in their
- 44:57Speaker 1: own country, they were also demonized, and they had also
- 45:00Speaker 1: done literally nothing except die for their government. So yeah, yeah,
- 45:06Speaker 1: that's all what. It actually makes sense that they would
- 45:08Speaker 1: dehumanize them because people suck and that's really what we've
- 45:13Speaker 1: proved in the show is that people really fucking suck. However,
- 45:17Speaker 1: that being said, Ernest is really fucking cool. And I
- 45:22Speaker 1: don't know how you felt about him earlier, but when
- 45:25Speaker 1: I first watched the beginning of the second cores, when
- 45:28Speaker 1: he showed up and he was like, hey, live in
- 45:31Speaker 1: my house, and shit, I was really afraid that he
- 45:33Speaker 1: was going to be like a villain and that he
- 45:36Speaker 1: was not going to have their best interest at heart,
- 45:38Speaker 1: because he just seemed too nice. But it turns out
- 45:41Speaker 1: he really is just very nice and very idealist, and
- 45:45Speaker 1: he wants everybody to be happy and everybody to live
- 45:49Speaker 1: in this society that cares about and values them. And
- 45:53Speaker 1: he sounds like he's willing to just bring everything fucking
- 45:56Speaker 1: down if it can't be that way. So I like him.
- 45:59Speaker 1: I like him a lot. He's probably one of my
- 46:02Speaker 1: favorite characters in eighty six actually, So yeah, that's pretty
- 46:07Speaker 1: much all I've got with this one. We kind of
- 46:09Speaker 1: talked about everything else, So that's that's gonna be it
- 46:13Speaker 1: for me. And I'm gonna see you next week unless
- 46:17Speaker 1: something really bad happens, And maybe you'll watch some of
- 46:21Speaker 1: the other shows that are new now, and you could
- 46:24Speaker 1: let me know what you think about them, or you
- 46:26Speaker 1: could not, or you could not even watch them because
- 46:29Speaker 1: you don't have to. It's your life and you can
- 46:32Speaker 1: do whatever you want. You don't even have to listen
- 46:34Speaker 1: to this. It would make me a little bit sad,
- 46:36Speaker 1: but I wouldn't even know, so it's fine, Fye forever. No,
- 46:40Speaker 1: Please don't go unless you really want to, and I
- 46:43Speaker 1: would understand anyway. Enough of that, who knows what that is.
- 46:49Speaker 1: I hope you have a really good whatever. Yeah later weeps.
