- 0:06Speaker 1: Goodwin away this week Liz Peak the brilliant column this
- 0:10Speaker 1: check out our website every day lizpeak dot com, Great
- 0:13Speaker 1: news columns, information lizpeak dot com.
- 0:17Speaker 2: And you get all over columns there of course, you
- 0:18Speaker 2: see all over Fox and all over television Liz Peak.
- 0:21Speaker 2: How you doing.
- 0:23Speaker 3: I'm terrific. Thank you for having me.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Uh you did March yesterday? Did you in the No
- 0:27Speaker 2: Kings March?
- 0:29Speaker 1: No?
- 0:30Speaker 3: No, I didn't. I'd forgotten my Mickey Mouse costume, so
- 0:34Speaker 3: I really wasn't prepared.
- 0:36Speaker 2: It did look like a Halloween at the Senior Center,
- 0:38Speaker 2: didn't this?
- 0:39Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 0:40Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean really it was ridiculous. But you know, Mark,
- 0:45Speaker 3: it's it's kind of a sad moment because you sort
- 0:48Speaker 3: of I actually have a piece that I'm sending in
- 0:51Speaker 3: a Fox in a minute about what are they protesting?
- 0:54Speaker 3: Are they protesting Trump going after the fentanyl imp orders
- 1:00Speaker 3: who've killed so many young Americans? Are they protesting the
- 1:04Speaker 3: fact that we now have a border that is secure?
- 1:08Speaker 3: Do we have an education department that has a new
- 1:10Speaker 3: mandate which is actually to teach black and brown kids
- 1:14Speaker 3: how to read? I mean, you kind of go through
- 1:16Speaker 3: all the stuff that the Trump White House is doing,
- 1:20Speaker 3: not you know, importantly, including reshoring, manufacturing and trying to
- 1:27Speaker 3: make American companies competitive overseas, and you kind of say,
- 1:31Speaker 3: what is it all about? What are they so angry about.
- 1:34Speaker 3: What they're really angry about is that we elected the
- 1:37Speaker 3: majority of the country elected somebody they don't like. That's
- 1:40Speaker 3: what it comes down to.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Yeah, it's different. You know, the same thing with George
- 1:44Speaker 2: Bush that you know, they always went after him a little,
- 1:46Speaker 2: but Trump really riles them up, doesn't he what? I
- 1:49Speaker 2: guess he doesn't deliver it.
- 1:52Speaker 3: They hate him, And partly it's because he just doesn't
- 1:55Speaker 3: play by the rules. You know, he goes after his opponents,
- 1:58Speaker 3: he's rough sometimes and because he gets stuff done. I mean,
- 2:04Speaker 3: I think that's why they hate him. Actually, I think
- 2:06Speaker 3: it's because, number one, he got elected in spite of
- 2:11Speaker 3: an all court legal press to make sure that he
- 2:15Speaker 3: was unelectable, which failed monumentally, and he won in spite
- 2:22Speaker 3: of all that. And I think they just they really
- 2:26Speaker 3: can't handle it because now that he's president and that
- 2:30Speaker 3: he has both houses of Congress, he's going after all
- 2:33Speaker 3: the fraud and the waste and the NGOs that Elon
- 2:40Speaker 3: Musk called out for being basically money launderers and all
- 2:44Speaker 3: these things. And you know, most Republicans just don't go there.
- 2:47Speaker 3: They're afraid to go there, and he is not.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Yeah, hey, the mayoral race only fifteen days left. The
- 2:54Speaker 2: problem is Andrew Cromo is so unlikable. And I mean,
- 3:00Speaker 2: it'd be great if one we had one candidate, but
- 3:03Speaker 2: we got two major party candidates, Clomo the third party.
- 3:06Speaker 2: But and you watch the debate. He was not too
- 3:09Speaker 2: great in that debate.
- 3:10Speaker 3: Oh he was better than he was in the primary
- 3:14Speaker 3: debate when he was just like totally out to lunch.
- 3:18Speaker 3: But even in this one, I mean, this is pretty incredible.
- 3:22Speaker 3: He really didn't look prepared to answer the obvious questions.
- 3:26Speaker 3: He didn't have you know, Mom, Donnie came with prepared
- 3:30Speaker 3: sound bites. Curtis Leewa had prepared soundbites, sound bites. But
- 3:35Speaker 3: here's the really tragic thing. A poll that's just new
- 3:40Speaker 3: shows that it's possible that Cuomo could win if Curtis
- 3:44Speaker 3: lewa gets out of the race. I don't I don't
- 3:48Speaker 3: like Andrew Cuomo. I think he's horrible. He was a
- 3:50Speaker 3: horrible governor. But he's better than Mom, Donnie, and Curtis
- 3:54Speaker 3: Leewa has no chance of winning.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Yeah, so very a very flawed pole. John McLoughlin pointing
- 4:01Speaker 2: out the ust wrong model in that poll. It's only
- 4:03Speaker 2: a few hundred people, so but go ahead.
- 4:06Speaker 3: Well at the end, we don't really have any better
- 4:08Speaker 3: information to go on, and no one has been able
- 4:12Speaker 3: to make the case that Sleewak can pull this out.
- 4:14Speaker 3: But by the way, the only guy that really made
- 4:16Speaker 3: any sense or displayed any deep knowledge of the city
- 4:21Speaker 3: and its problems was Curtis sleewat that debate. I think
- 4:24Speaker 3: that is a fair statement. I just don't think he
- 4:27Speaker 3: probably can win.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Yeah, now if you ask Curtis, if you said that
- 4:30Speaker 2: to Curtis, he'll say, well, yeah, you guys are all
- 4:32Speaker 2: doing that to me. It's like you're creating the whole
- 4:34Speaker 2: myth that I can't win.
- 4:35Speaker 3: But well it's possible, it's possible. Uh. You know, we
- 4:41Speaker 3: had him on the morning since Maria showed it this morning,
- 4:44Speaker 3: and he had a great line talking about Andrew Cuomo saying,
- 4:49Speaker 3: you know, because of him, we're locking up the you know,
- 4:53Speaker 3: products at CVS instead of the criminals. And he's totally right.
- 4:57Speaker 3: I mean, Lookquemo's terrible. I don't want to vote for him.
- 5:00Speaker 3: I just don't want mom Donnie to be our mayor,
- 5:03Speaker 3: and sadly it looks like he probably will be. But
- 5:07Speaker 3: Sliewa Rais is a good point. If we all weren't
- 5:10Speaker 3: out there saying please drop out, maybe he would be
- 5:13Speaker 3: doing better. I don't know.
- 5:15Speaker 2: What a mess. Yeah, hey, did you know there's still
- 5:18Speaker 2: I didn't realize that there's still a government shutdown? Do
- 5:20Speaker 2: you think anybody notices this?
- 5:21Speaker 3: Ah? Isn't that something?
- 5:25Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 5:25Speaker 3: And you know, supposedly Democrats were waiting for No King's
- 5:29Speaker 3: Day to get together and vote in favor of the
- 5:35Speaker 3: government reopening. I think there's a really good question about
- 5:38Speaker 3: how that's going to be perceived by the far left.
- 5:41Speaker 3: Are they going to be happy that the government reopens
- 5:45Speaker 3: if the Democrats have nothing to show for their shutdown?
- 5:48Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 5:50Speaker 3: I think this is risky for Democrats. But it goes
- 5:53Speaker 3: on and on, and you know, I don't really know
- 5:58Speaker 3: what they're accomplishing. Maybe they are accomplishing having more focus
- 6:03Speaker 3: on the Obamacare subsidies. I think that's probably a fair statement.
- 6:07Speaker 3: But you know, I think the Republicans are going to
- 6:11Speaker 3: be pretty wary of letting those healthcare premiums go through
- 6:17Speaker 3: the roof anyway. And a lot of red states are
- 6:20Speaker 3: going to really see big increases in the cost of Obamacare,
- 6:25Speaker 3: and so my guess is there's rooms to negotiate there,
- 6:28Speaker 3: but you know, shutting down the government is not the
- 6:31Speaker 3: way to do it.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Yeah, well, we'll see lot's going to happen this week.
- 6:36Speaker 2: The next debate is Wednesday night, mayoral debate. Well, yeah,
