- 0:16Speaker 1: of your besties, Susan has found love and is happy
- 0:19Speaker 1: in a relationship. At least that's what we think. We're
- 0:21Speaker 1: not like checking every day, but at least that's our
- 0:25Speaker 1: last update. Are you ready to see if you can
- 0:28Speaker 1: find your person too?
- 0:29Speaker 2: Yes?
- 0:30Speaker 1: Okay, so this is going to be rapid fire like.
- 0:32Speaker 1: We don't need any I want like first words that
- 0:35Speaker 1: come to mind. I'm just going to throw stuff out there.
- 0:39Speaker 3: I'm never shorter words.
- 0:40Speaker 1: Ben, Okay, this is about you first. I'm excited for
- 0:45Speaker 1: this one. What's your name?
- 0:47Speaker 3: Kathy Swartz, age two?
- 0:50Speaker 1: Describe your physical appearance.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Tall, slim, slash, athletic build.
- 0:57Speaker 1: I would say strong. I want you to add strong.
- 0:59Speaker 1: You're wrong, woman. Yeah. Tell us your history with the show,
- 1:04Speaker 1: The Golden Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise.
- 1:07Speaker 3: I was the Golden Bachelor. I was eliminated at org
- 1:11Speaker 3: roast ceremony with Gary. Gary's a great guy. Was not
- 1:14Speaker 3: my guy? Went on Bachelor in Paradise season ten. Had
- 1:20Speaker 3: a great time, felt like a mother and a mentor
- 1:24Speaker 3: to all the young ones, great guys, but did not
- 1:27Speaker 3: find my love there either.
- 1:30Speaker 1: Best thing about being on the show shows.
- 1:33Speaker 3: Getting to meet incredibly wonderful people and having an adventure
- 1:38Speaker 3: that so few people get.
- 1:39Speaker 2: To have in their lives.
- 1:41Speaker 1: It's the worst thing about being on the shows.
- 1:43Speaker 3: Didn't find anyone still single.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Other than your marriage. What was the most serious relationship
- 1:50Speaker 1: romantically you've had.
- 1:52Speaker 2: I didn't.
- 1:53Speaker 3: He was my he was at.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Eighteen years old. I think you said I met.
- 1:58Speaker 3: Him when I was eighteen, were married eighteen months later.
- 2:01Speaker 3: I was twenty years old, had just turned twenty when
- 2:03Speaker 3: I got married.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Do you want to get married again?
- 2:08Speaker 3: It's not on my to do list, but I'm old
- 2:12Speaker 3: enough to know never say never, so it's.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Maybe maybe when this is like first things that come
- 2:19Speaker 1: to mind. Here three things that are requirements for your
- 2:22Speaker 1: significant other.
- 2:23Speaker 3: Kindness, a sense of adventure, and love for me and
- 2:29Speaker 3: my family.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Now we're going to switch over to some hard questions
- 2:34Speaker 1: about dating. Specifically, are you willing to be the primary breadwinner?
- 2:39Speaker 3: No?
- 2:41Speaker 1: Ideally? Do you want to continue working or would you
- 2:44Speaker 1: like to be fully retired and you are working, You're
- 2:48Speaker 1: doing podcasts, now you're going on these shows.
- 2:51Speaker 2: No, I love doing my podcasts.
- 2:53Speaker 3: I love so No, I would I retire, Probably not fully. No.
- 3:00Speaker 1: This is a question that comes up so many times
- 3:02Speaker 1: at my age and within my twenties, so I'm interested
- 3:07Speaker 1: to see what you would say. Would you date someone
- 3:10Speaker 1: that your family does not like?
- 3:11Speaker 2: I would date them? Yes.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Describe the physicality of your ideal man.
- 3:18Speaker 3: Ideally a little bit tall than they warm, smile, and
- 3:22Speaker 3: beautiful eyes, and it has to be fit physically fit.
- 3:27Speaker 1: We're talking early in the relationship here, like one first
- 3:30Speaker 1: second date. If you meet someone and they mentioned to
- 3:32Speaker 1: you that they're dating other people currently, would you allow that?
- 3:37Speaker 2: Would I date him if he was dating other people?
- 3:39Speaker 1: Would you continue to go on dates with him?
- 3:42Speaker 2: One or two?
- 3:43Speaker 3: But I have enough faith in myself. If I really
- 3:46Speaker 3: like that guy, I think I could. I think he
- 3:49Speaker 3: would see the light and know I'm.
- 3:50Speaker 1: In without me being able to be included in any
- 3:54Speaker 1: of these next two questions, not that I would be included,
- 3:57Speaker 1: but it's weird if I was of all the bachelor
- 4:00Speaker 1: since the beginning, Who is the most handsome in your opinion?
- 4:03Speaker 2: Dale?
- 4:04Speaker 3: Comes right at the top for me. I think he's
- 4:06Speaker 3: absolutely stunningly handsome. Gosh, that that's a tough one. I
- 4:14Speaker 3: don't know. I mean they're all, come on, they're all
- 4:16Speaker 3: good looking guys. That's that's you gotta be good looking
- 4:20Speaker 3: to be a bachelor.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Okay, Dale was never a bachelor, But we're just gonna
- 4:23Speaker 1: throw all the bachelor guys into this. Oh I'm sorry,
- 4:27Speaker 1: I'm not Dale works. Dale's a fine answer. We're just
- 4:30Speaker 1: now gonna we're gonna open up to any bachelor contestant.
- 4:33Speaker 1: That's that's fair, other than myself. Of all the bachelors,
- 4:36Speaker 1: which do you think was the greatest guy?
- 4:38Speaker 3: I mean, I think I love Dotton. I think he's
- 4:41Speaker 3: a genuine guy. Sean Well, I think he's a great guy.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Don's incredible, dude, Shohn's great. Yet that's a great choice.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Dotten is like sneaky, just awesome. He's quiet, but he's
- 4:53Speaker 1: sneaky awesome.
- 4:54Speaker 3: But see, that's that's an attractive quality because I've seen him.
- 4:58Speaker 1: He can let Lise, Yeah, he's so tall. How do
- 5:02Speaker 1: you feel about being set up?
- 5:03Speaker 3: I think that's how I'm gonna beat somebody organically dating
- 5:07Speaker 3: aps just I may look good on paper or not
- 5:11Speaker 3: look good on paper. But when people meet organically, I
- 5:13Speaker 3: think that's the best way. So I'm all in for
- 5:15Speaker 3: being set up.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Are you open to a long distance relationship?
- 5:20Speaker 3: Yes, first to start with, but it won't it won't
- 5:23Speaker 3: stay that way.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Say when we get our first date set up here?
- 5:28Speaker 1: Are you going to be nervous on going to that date?
- 5:32Speaker 3: I know I should say yes, but not really. I
- 5:35Speaker 3: would be more excited.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Which couple are you most excited about that it's still together?
- 5:41Speaker 1: From the show, Like, which couple do you just like?
- 5:43Speaker 1: Get behind you? They're wonderful together.
- 5:45Speaker 3: I just spent time with them. Spencer and Jess love
- 5:50Speaker 3: them and I just I love them.
- 5:52Speaker 1: We're not talking sex here, Kathy, But what is your
- 5:55Speaker 1: ultimate well we might we might hear, but what is
- 6:00Speaker 1: your ultimate fantasy date? Like not fantasy sweet date. I'm
- 6:04Speaker 1: not talking what happens behind that closed door. I'm talking like,
- 6:07Speaker 1: what is your ultimate fantasy date?
- 6:09Speaker 2: So again, for me, at.
- 6:12Speaker 3: My age, I don't need a trip to Paris with
- 6:15Speaker 3: you know, going up the Eiffel Tower and watching fireworks
- 6:19Speaker 3: go off. For me, the fantasy date is spending time
- 6:24Speaker 3: with the guy doing I don't care what a walk
- 6:27Speaker 3: on the beach, a dinner, kayaking, I don't care what
- 6:30Speaker 3: it is. As long as I'm connecting with him and
- 6:33Speaker 3: he's connected with me. I really don't care what it is.
- 6:36Speaker 1: We kind of asked this question in reverse earlier, but
- 6:38Speaker 1: I'm now asking from your perspective.
- 6:40Speaker 3: Wait, I can't wait. I have to say, I'm sarry
- 6:42Speaker 3: to interrupt you. I would love to go on a
- 6:46Speaker 3: helicopter ride. I don't know what does stick out there
- 6:48Speaker 3: for me.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I have a wild helicopter ride from the show.
- 6:52Speaker 1: We were in Vegas and a lightning bolt struck right
- 6:54Speaker 1: beside our helicopter. We had to land in the middle
- 6:57Speaker 1: of nowhere to let the storm pass.
- 6:59Speaker 3: Thanks. Maybe that comes up the list now.
- 7:01Speaker 1: No, I don't know if i'd tell you to do that.
- 7:03Speaker 1: All right, A yacht same. I want to be on
- 7:08Speaker 1: a private plane at some point in my life. That's
- 7:10Speaker 1: just a goal.
- 7:11Speaker 2: I've done it one time.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I've never done it, even on the show. Never went,
- 7:15Speaker 1: never been on one, but goodness, it sounds fun.
- 7:17Speaker 3: Yeah it is. Yeah, sure, Wait can you buy me
- 7:21Speaker 3: the guy with a private plane?
- 7:23Speaker 1: Yeah, that's that's part of the criteria here. Private jet again,
- 7:39Speaker 1: we asked this question reverse earlier, but from your perspective,
- 7:43Speaker 1: let's talk about it in terms of this experience. If
- 7:47Speaker 1: we set you up on a date and it goes
- 7:49Speaker 1: really well, and the next day we set you up
- 7:50Speaker 1: with on a date with somebody different and it goes
- 7:53Speaker 1: really well, are you okay dating two people at once?
- 7:57Speaker 3: Yes, until I figure out which one I'll like more,
- 8:00Speaker 3: and then I'm going to cut the other one loose.
- 8:03Speaker 1: How quickly are you going to try to figure out
- 8:06Speaker 1: who you like more?
- 8:07Speaker 3: How quickly?
- 8:08Speaker 2: It's just a normal process. It just happens organically.
- 8:13Speaker 3: You you just feel connected to one person, or if
- 8:15Speaker 3: you kiss someone and you feel that connection. I mean,
- 8:18Speaker 3: I think it's not something you plan for. It just happens,
- 8:21Speaker 3: at least that way it's been for me.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Now we are going to talk about sex, Kathy, I
- 8:26Speaker 1: get there, Ben, I know it seems to be a thing.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Okay, I have to break the news. Yeah, I don't
- 8:33Speaker 3: want to get pregnant.
- 8:34Speaker 2: I don't want to.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Oh goodness, I can't get a way for you. But
- 8:39Speaker 1: that's a I hope that's a headline. I want somebody
- 8:42Speaker 1: to pick that statement up. Is Kathy Swartz says she
- 8:45Speaker 1: doesn't want to get pregnant. That would be absolutely fantastic
- 8:49Speaker 1: for this.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't, and I you know, I don't want nurse.
- 8:53Speaker 3: These books have done all the nursing they're doing that.
- 8:56Speaker 3: That stops close too.
- 8:58Speaker 1: But how what is the appropriate on a time until
- 9:01Speaker 1: you sleep with someone you know?
- 9:04Speaker 2: I'm again, I'm nothing if not honest.
- 9:06Speaker 3: I don't sleep with the guy on the first date,
- 9:09Speaker 3: probably not a second date, but maybe after that if
- 9:12Speaker 3: I'm really into him.
- 9:14Speaker 2: But I'll tell you the better answer.
- 9:16Speaker 3: And I mean that answer is true, but the more
- 9:19Speaker 3: complete answer is I don't sleep with men unless I'm
- 9:24Speaker 3: either in a relationship with them or I see a
- 9:28Speaker 3: high potential to be in a relationship with him.
- 9:31Speaker 1: It's not just like a one night fling.
- 9:33Speaker 3: No, no, no, that is not who I am. It's you know,
- 9:36Speaker 3: it's not do you want to go to the movies
- 9:38Speaker 3: or have sex? No?
- 9:40Speaker 1: No, But that seems like a while week that has
- 9:44Speaker 1: that been a question or like a statement told you
- 9:47Speaker 1: to before? Do you want to go to the movies
- 9:48Speaker 1: or have sex? Oh?
- 9:49Speaker 3: I mean I've had men say to me, listen, I
- 9:53Speaker 3: really would like to literally, I really like to have
- 9:56Speaker 3: sex with you. How do you feel about that? And
- 9:58Speaker 3: I'll come straight in the eye and I say, are
- 10:01Speaker 3: we in a relationship yet? And they said, well, we
- 10:03Speaker 3: just started dating. I said, exactly, let me know when
- 10:06Speaker 3: we're in a relationship.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Oh, Kathy, this is gonna be fun. We're gonna have
- 10:11Speaker 1: some great conversations along the way. Final question for you,
- 10:14Speaker 1: what is your goal from famously available.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Hollmark card to find the man who.
- 10:24Speaker 3: Loves me? I love him and we feel so grateful
- 10:27Speaker 3: that we found each other at this last great chapter
- 10:31Speaker 3: of our lives, this juncture where we're both looking for
- 10:35Speaker 3: our person and by some magical align of the moon
- 10:39Speaker 3: and the stars, kismet, call it whatever you want, we
- 10:43Speaker 3: find each other. That's what I'm looking for, and I
- 10:46Speaker 3: believe it can happen.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Kathy, you've mentioned this a few times.
- 10:50Speaker 3: I know.
- 10:51Speaker 1: I said we're gonna close up, but you keep saying
- 10:54Speaker 1: this is the last final chapter. What it sounds like
- 10:57Speaker 1: to me is your or taking away from the idea
- 11:02Speaker 1: or opportunity that you could maybe have a really fun,
- 11:04Speaker 1: serious relationship that would end and we would have to
- 11:06Speaker 1: start over again. Is the standard? Here? One and done?
- 11:12Speaker 3: When I say the last grade chapter, the ideal for
- 11:15Speaker 3: me is to find that person to walk into the
- 11:19Speaker 3: sunset with. Mind you, I don't want to roll him
- 11:22Speaker 3: in a wheelchair into the sunset. Can we be clear
- 11:24Speaker 3: on that as well? But yeah, things happen. You can
- 11:28Speaker 3: date someone for three or four years, a year, six
- 11:31Speaker 3: months and something changes. I just think at my age,
- 11:34Speaker 3: I've had enough experience and enough wisdom, and I've learned
- 11:38Speaker 3: enough life lessons that i would be surprised if I
- 11:44Speaker 3: ended up with a guy and six months or a
- 11:47Speaker 3: year later, I said, yeah, I'm done, because I'm I
- 11:51Speaker 3: have too much knowledge to walk into that kind of relationship.
- 11:55Speaker 1: We've mentioned a few times here what throws you off
- 11:58Speaker 1: about somebody on a date or when you're dating. This
- 12:03Speaker 1: is always a healthy practice that I try to do
- 12:05Speaker 1: daily in my life. What do you think throw somebody
- 12:08Speaker 1: off about you?
- 12:09Speaker 3: I think when people first meet me sometimes I'm like
- 12:15Speaker 3: a puppy. I'm so exuberant and they might say, whoa
- 12:18Speaker 3: you know back girl, And so I've tried to temper
- 12:23Speaker 3: that a little bit. I think it takes a little while.
- 12:26Speaker 3: Keith said that actually on Paradise there's something happened and
- 12:29Speaker 3: I started to cry, and he said, I can't believe
- 12:32Speaker 3: you need to show that side of you more. It's
- 12:35Speaker 3: hard for me to immediately be vulnerable, so I think
- 12:38Speaker 3: that's something I have to work on.
- 12:40Speaker 1: See, I don't see that in you. I remember we
- 12:42Speaker 1: walked in even to the reunion of Paradise and I
- 12:47Speaker 1: was in an office kind of getting prepped. Walked in,
- 12:50Speaker 1: saw the group, saw you, and you were in tears
- 12:53Speaker 1: just from seeing these other humans again.
- 12:57Speaker 3: Cragging because people are so important to me. Relationships are
- 13:02Speaker 3: so important to me, and I loved what I've loved
- 13:05Speaker 3: to have met someone on Paradise, absolutely, but the relationships
- 13:09Speaker 3: with those young's and getting to be close from friends
- 13:13Speaker 3: with the Goldens that were there, that fed my soul.
- 13:16Speaker 3: It really did. And seeing the most I was overwhelmed
- 13:19Speaker 3: at how joy I'm crying again.
- 13:22Speaker 2: There's wonderful people. That is the best thing that has
- 13:26Speaker 2: come from this TV reality deal for me.
- 13:29Speaker 1: Yeah, we could see that. I could see it when
- 13:32Speaker 1: I was there. Was that you just really love these people.
- 13:35Speaker 1: This is my final question, though, Well, you know, I
- 13:37Speaker 1: think people have wondered. I haven't heard you necessarily answer it.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Even during the reunion you say things like, hey, Gary
- 13:45Speaker 1: wasn't right for me. I see that. I get that
- 13:47Speaker 1: Keith seems like the perfect fit for you. Like when
- 13:50Speaker 1: I think of your ideal man at this stage of life,
- 13:53Speaker 1: it's Keith. What didn't work there?
- 13:57Speaker 3: Well, to be fair, Keith is looking for a younger woman,
- 14:01Speaker 3: and Keith is he works full time.
- 14:06Speaker 2: He wants a woman who lives in California.
- 14:10Speaker 3: I mean, and quite frankly, our relationship just started as friends.
- 14:15Speaker 3: It's never you know, he's never said he wanted to
- 14:19Speaker 3: date me. And Keith is like a guys guy. You know,
- 14:24Speaker 3: he's a guys guy. He's he spends a lot of
- 14:26Speaker 3: time with the guys, and that I don't. I want
- 14:29Speaker 3: a guy who wants to spend time with me and
- 14:32Speaker 3: the guys, not exclusively with me. Don't get me wrong,
- 14:35Speaker 3: But you know a guy who is is uh when
- 14:39Speaker 3: it comes time to play golf, you know, doesn't mind
- 14:42Speaker 3: that I use my foot wedge and doesn't care that
- 14:45Speaker 3: you know, my seven iron sucks, but he wants to
- 14:48Speaker 3: going golf with me occasionally, not just go out with
- 14:50Speaker 3: the guys.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Fair. Fair, that makes sense, Kathy, Thank you for the
- 14:55Speaker 1: rapid fire, thank you for giving us all the intel,
- 14:58Speaker 1: and the details will continue to get the thing. Only
- 15:00Speaker 1: this has been famously available with our Golden gal, Kathy Swartz. Kathy,
- 15:05Speaker 1: thanks for joining us. Until next time, I've been Ben
