- 0:09Speaker 2: I said, oh.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Yeah, Jeff, day.
- 0:19Speaker 2: O'clock.
- 0:21Speaker 1: I got one hundred and forty one to those test winning,
- 0:24Speaker 1: but brought out.
- 0:25Speaker 2: I am bad and ain't no, I'm bad. I'm a
- 0:28Speaker 2: peggy out the bever a dollar.
- 0:30Speaker 1: You slip this up and shell time. Welcome you to
- 0:36Speaker 1: the grill Out from the heart. That's Hilliam, West Virginia.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Here's your host, Hollywood, Jeff Petty.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen to the grill Outs.
- 0:47Speaker 1: I'm your host, Hollywood, Jeff Betty.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Episode fifty two is where we're at. Episode fifty two.
- 0:52Speaker 1: I believe number ten.
- 0:54Speaker 2: And that is our Grill Out Predictions Heavyweight Champion.
- 0:58Speaker 3: How are you guys doing.
- 1:00Speaker 2: We're doing all right.
- 1:00Speaker 3: I'm doing pretty good. Lincoln Park is back and I'm
- 1:03Speaker 3: still the champion.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that's right. You are a big Lincoln Park fan.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Yes, I'm wearing Lino Park shirt right now.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll have to ask you about that when we
- 1:10Speaker 2: get out there. That's Josh Cole Baybe. And then over
- 1:14Speaker 2: here is the most humble man on the face of
- 1:16Speaker 2: the earth.
- 1:17Speaker 3: You sabotaged didn't work, Just Jason.
- 1:20Speaker 4: You know I heard Josh you talking about last week,
- 1:24Speaker 4: I was trying to sabotage you, and that is entirely false.
- 1:28Speaker 4: I was reading the predictions that you gave me. You know,
- 1:31Speaker 4: in the past two weeks, you all have been doing
- 1:34Speaker 4: a lot of talking about me and I. That's perfectly
- 1:37Speaker 4: fine because I haven't been here. I've been on an
- 1:40Speaker 4: East Coast tour doing public speeches about forgiveness and embracing
- 1:49Speaker 4: what you've done wrong and just letting it go. So
- 1:54Speaker 4: I accept your all's apology and for that, you're welcome.
- 2:00Speaker 2: You're putting off, like big time brother in love Vives
- 2:02Speaker 2: a little bit.
- 2:03Speaker 4: What do you mean?
- 2:04Speaker 2: Like, let me ask you this with your public speaking?
- 2:07Speaker 2: Is it is it in like a place like an
- 2:11Speaker 2: actual building or in a tent?
- 2:14Speaker 4: Neither not?
- 2:15Speaker 2: WHOA okay, all right? Where are they at?
- 2:19Speaker 4: Usually I just kind of do public gatherings where they happen,
- 2:23Speaker 4: you know, whether it be in kind of plausas outside
- 2:27Speaker 4: of Madison Square Garden, when people are in line for
- 2:30Speaker 4: an event, you know, wherever the people are, That's where
- 2:34Speaker 4: I'm called to go.
- 2:37Speaker 2: I have so many questions that I'm going to have
- 2:39Speaker 2: to ask later. Yeah, but yeah, it.
- 2:41Speaker 4: Just it just does.
- 2:42Speaker 2: It puts off.
- 2:43Speaker 4: But you're welcome.
- 2:46Speaker 2: And speaking of predictions, our gauntlet, pretty much of the
- 2:51Speaker 2: past three weeks of predictions came to an end last
- 2:55Speaker 2: night with all out and we had a three way
- 2:59Speaker 2: tie only what was statlander? The stat Yes, the stat
- 3:03Speaker 2: lander one. It wasn't just a statlander. It's great, you know, Josh,
- 3:11Speaker 2: you didn't win. I didn't win, Jeff or no, I'm sorry.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Josh is still the champion, So everything's fine.
- 3:20Speaker 4: You know. I don't do this to become a champion.
- 3:22Speaker 4: I do this to have fun and and be with
- 3:26Speaker 4: my friend Jeff.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Just just because, like just because Ivy's been watching Dance
- 3:32Speaker 2: Moms so much. Every time I hear somebody say we're
- 3:34Speaker 2: having fun, I think of I think her name is Abby.
- 3:38Speaker 3: Is still a thing?
- 3:39Speaker 2: No, no, it's not. She's just been watching reruns of it,
- 3:42Speaker 2: like it's just it's a car. It's like a car crash,
- 3:45Speaker 2: like you just you can't look away, and they're every
- 3:47Speaker 2: time I hear somebody say we're having fun or something
- 3:50Speaker 2: along those lines, I think of, like Abby, the person
- 3:52Speaker 2: who is who like the coach, and just a meme
- 3:56Speaker 2: of her going we're having fun.
- 3:58Speaker 4: But that's a great anecdote Jeff, I'm glad you could
- 4:01Speaker 4: bring that to the show.
- 4:03Speaker 2: I'm so glad I could because.
- 4:04Speaker 4: I'm just here to help boost YouTube up, you know.
- 4:08Speaker 4: And again for that, you're welcome.
- 4:11Speaker 3: Abby the Witches on dance Bombs.
- 4:14Speaker 2: No, no, no, not that, not that Abby. But no,
- 4:17Speaker 2: as far as all out went, we uh yeah, we
- 4:20Speaker 2: did have six matches. I think there was like twelve
- 4:22Speaker 2: all together. There was a few other ones added and
- 4:24Speaker 2: the last minute. Yeah, as per usual, that's that's what happens.
- 4:28Speaker 2: But all three of us chose Danielson. I did not
- 4:33Speaker 2: choose Garcia. Both of you went with MJFMJF won that match.
- 4:37Speaker 4: Okay that you didn't get that one.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Right, It's okay. Yes, all three of us chose Hayman Page. Yes,
- 4:42Speaker 2: who went full Madman.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Last night and that was the main event.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Yes, and I watched, I get I didn't watch the
- 4:49Speaker 2: actual show because again, two weeks between pay per views
- 4:52Speaker 2: as much on the wallet.
- 4:54Speaker 3: They didn't have a deal in that though, But yeah,
- 4:56Speaker 3: did they really?
- 4:57Speaker 2: What was the deal?
- 4:58Speaker 3: It was some kind of I don't know what the price.
- 5:00Speaker 3: They had a two for one kind of bundle thing.
- 5:02Speaker 2: Oh see, I feel like they should have pushed out
- 5:04Speaker 2: a little more, but maybe.
- 5:05Speaker 4: So instead of sixty dollars, you could just pay one
- 5:07Speaker 4: hundred and twenty and get.
- 5:08Speaker 2: Both exactly exactly. That's how it is, or one hundred
- 5:11Speaker 2: dollars for both. Actually know, I think they're what fifty
- 5:13Speaker 2: dollars a piece?
- 5:14Speaker 3: Yeah, so it would be.
- 5:16Speaker 4: It would be out.
- 5:17Speaker 3: Yeah, they are on some kind of bundle for I
- 5:19Speaker 3: think a couple of other upcoming paperviees as well.
- 5:21Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:22Speaker 2: I hope they start streaming here soon because I don't
- 5:24Speaker 2: want to shell out fifty bucks. But no, I guess
- 5:27Speaker 2: there was one part in the match where Swerve I
- 5:30Speaker 2: think it's the ending where Swerve takes an unprotected chair shot,
- 5:33Speaker 2: brutal chair shot, I mean a hangman. He put all
- 5:37Speaker 2: he had into that, the bottom came out and everything.
- 5:40Speaker 4: I'm really hoping the chair was gimmicked.
- 5:43Speaker 2: I think it had to have been the way it
- 5:45Speaker 2: fell apart. It had to have been gimmicked. And I
- 5:48Speaker 2: guess on the broadcast, don't you know. I don't know
- 5:50Speaker 2: this for sure, but I guess it was like censored
- 5:52Speaker 2: a little bit because of that part. It was a
- 5:54Speaker 2: brutal match altogether from what I'm from what I'm hearing
- 5:57Speaker 2: between that and then yes, the stat Lander Nightingale match,
- 6:02Speaker 2: it gave a just because he was at slam Plaza
- 6:06Speaker 2: mad Man Pondo vibes. There were light tubes brought in there. Yes,
- 6:11Speaker 2: they had they had light tubes and and and all
- 6:13Speaker 2: kinds of other stuff for their for their Chicago street
- 6:15Speaker 2: Fight m j F one. But he was written off
- 6:18Speaker 2: of TV after Garcia gave him a elevated pile driver
- 6:22Speaker 2: of some sorts. Danielson gets kicked out of BCC. Uda
- 6:27Speaker 2: is trying to help Danielson. They're holding him back and
- 6:30Speaker 2: everything Pocket is, he's holding you to back and they're
- 6:34Speaker 2: pretty much like they put the Moxley put a plastic
- 6:38Speaker 2: bag over Danielson's head, and then the crowd starts chanting
- 6:41Speaker 2: that this is murder, yes or something like that.
- 6:46Speaker 3: I'm kind of curious what what you is going to
- 6:48Speaker 3: do here because him and Claudia and Poker the trap, which.
- 6:55Speaker 2: You know, that's yeah, I thought about that too when
- 6:59Speaker 2: I was I was like, oh, yeah, they are the
- 7:00Speaker 2: Trios jams, so that's that's going to add a crinkle
- 7:03Speaker 2: to that. But no, and apparently there was a CM
- 7:07Speaker 2: punk chant that broke out and it got booed. So
- 7:11Speaker 2: that's what I'm I'm reading online from some of the
- 7:14Speaker 2: let It Go. Yeah, but yeah, but it's kind of
- 7:19Speaker 2: interesting that that happened in Chicago, that the booing part,
- 7:22Speaker 2: not the cmpunk part. Osbury and Pak apparently tore the
- 7:26Speaker 2: house down. I watched some clips of it.
- 7:28Speaker 3: I mean, fantastic they figured out whatever that backstage thing was.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Not that I know of, not off the top of
- 7:34Speaker 2: my head, and uh yeah, that's that's pretty much all
- 7:40Speaker 2: that I got. I know that Okada won his match,
- 7:43Speaker 2: he retained his title, so there's a couple other things,
- 7:47Speaker 2: but that's that's.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:49Speaker 2: Yeah, from what I'm hearing again. For the second show
- 7:53Speaker 2: in a row, second pay per view in a row,
- 7:56Speaker 2: the TBS title match is the week match on the card.
- 7:59Speaker 4: Well, let me ask you. The hype that has followed Monette,
- 8:07Speaker 4: I don't think it's warranted. I think a lot of
- 8:10Speaker 4: times in WWE it was the others making her look
- 8:13Speaker 4: better than she really is.
- 8:16Speaker 2: I could see that because, like when people do bring
- 8:22Speaker 2: her up, a lot of the matches that she is
- 8:25Speaker 2: credited with having a great match involves somebody from the
- 8:29Speaker 2: Four horse Women, whether it be Charlotte Becky or Bailey, So.
- 8:34Speaker 4: What does she do well? And I'm not saying I
- 8:39Speaker 4: could do it by no means, I don't think I could.
- 8:44Speaker 4: I'm just wondering what in the match does she do
- 8:47Speaker 4: well that really warrants all of this hype with her.
- 8:53Speaker 2: The only thing I can think of off the top
- 8:55Speaker 2: of my head, And it's not even really that she
- 8:57Speaker 2: does it well. It's more scary than anything is. When
- 8:59Speaker 2: she does neck bump, it is a little on the
- 9:03Speaker 2: I'm worried about you side. It does put off I
- 9:07Speaker 2: don't know, I'm not I know this is sort of
- 9:09Speaker 2: an Apples the Oranges comparison, but it does put off
- 9:11Speaker 2: like a nineteen nineties all Japan like the Four Pillars,
- 9:16Speaker 2: because Mazzala and then were known for taking these insane
- 9:19Speaker 2: like neck bumps and stuff. So it kind of puts
- 9:22Speaker 2: that vibe off a little bit.
- 9:23Speaker 4: Yeah, but they also had, you know, great.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Matches exactly exactly, and again Monette, when she does have
- 9:32Speaker 2: a great match, it is there's normally one or more
- 9:37Speaker 2: people from the Four Horsewomen that she's a part of
- 9:40Speaker 2: that she is unofficially a part of. It is an
- 9:42Speaker 2: unofficial group, but one of those other three are in
- 9:46Speaker 2: the match with her.
- 9:46Speaker 4: Yeah, but is she the.
- 9:47Speaker 3: Four fourth and Bianca?
- 9:50Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 9:51Speaker 2: But I think the AGA's fantastic anyway.
- 9:54Speaker 4: But is Monette that fourth horse Woman who just keeps
- 9:58Speaker 4: getting cycled out and the Four Horsemen?
- 10:01Speaker 2: True? You I think you could make that argument, but
- 10:06Speaker 2: she hasn't really been cycled out, Like it's not like
- 10:10Speaker 2: how how it was with the Four Horsemen now and
- 10:12Speaker 2: then again with the Four Horsemen, they were an official group,
- 10:15Speaker 2: like you know, they were on screen this and that.
- 10:18Speaker 2: The Four horse Women is more of an unofficial thing,
- 10:21Speaker 2: So I don't she hasn't been ideology pretty much because.
- 10:26Speaker 3: Basically the four pillars of NXT, if you will, with
- 10:29Speaker 3: the women's division.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Exactly, That's what I was getting ready to say them
- 10:32Speaker 2: them and and I would say unofficially like but she
- 10:36Speaker 2: started to come come about in the main roster, Alexa
- 10:39Speaker 2: Bliss would be somebody else that you could possibly But
- 10:42Speaker 2: she was more of a valet in NXT than she
- 10:44Speaker 2: was than she wasn't in ring competitor.
- 10:47Speaker 4: So you said, I think Alexa Bliss in ring is
- 10:50Speaker 4: better than Monet.
- 10:51Speaker 2: True, I can't. I can't really argue against that one.
- 10:55Speaker 2: I think I think Alexa Bliss is another, she's another
- 11:00Speaker 2: very good wrestler, very good female wrestler. We're just very
- 11:04Speaker 2: good wrestler in general.
- 11:06Speaker 4: So yeah, for me, it could just be the whole
- 11:09Speaker 4: CEO gimmick because I think it's terrible. I think it's
- 11:12Speaker 4: a god awful.
- 11:14Speaker 3: Game, like even in WWE, the whole balls sting sting
- 11:17Speaker 3: that for a while.
- 11:18Speaker 2: Yeah, Michael, Then again, that's what Michael had Vince in
- 11:23Speaker 2: his ear.
- 11:24Speaker 3: Yeah, so he would probably still say it too, Probably
- 11:27Speaker 3: vintage boss.
- 11:29Speaker 2: He does like to say vintage in front of things,
- 11:33Speaker 2: vintage car.
- 11:36Speaker 4: True, but that's you know, my mom made steak, vintage steak,
- 11:41Speaker 4: vintage mom cookie.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Oh and just to since since we are talking about
- 11:46Speaker 2: w W, uh, Vince, Yeah, and Vince, we'll get we'll
- 11:49Speaker 2: get to the Vince documentary, but real quick. It is
- 11:52Speaker 2: rumored right now that w W Saturday Night's main event
- 11:54Speaker 2: will be returning. Oh have they made it official? Now?
- 11:59Speaker 1: Okay?
- 12:00Speaker 2: Well, this is coming from cage site seats dot Com
- 12:03Speaker 2: Wrestle Votes report that ww is set to an announce
- 12:05Speaker 2: I believe, and they've already announced it, have they? Have
- 12:08Speaker 2: they already announced that, Josh I think? So okay, set
- 12:11Speaker 2: to announce a quote Live primetime special on NBC end
- 12:15Speaker 2: quote that some within the company believe would take place
- 12:18Speaker 2: this December on a Saturday Night. Even with only those
- 12:22Speaker 2: few detailed speculation immediately began about the return of Saturday
- 12:26Speaker 2: Night's Main Event, a series that aired on NBC late
- 12:28Speaker 2: nights in the late eighties and early nineteen nineties when
- 12:31Speaker 2: Saturday Night Live wasn't running. Originally noteworthy as a rare
- 12:35Speaker 2: instance of pro wrestling airing on a broadcast network. NBC
- 12:40Speaker 2: also revived Saturday Night's Main Event for a few years
- 12:43Speaker 2: in the two thousands, airing its final episode in two
- 12:46Speaker 2: thousand and eight, and according to the latest Wrestling Observer newsletter,
- 12:50Speaker 2: that speculation is correct. Dave Meltzer writes that ww sources
- 12:54Speaker 2: told the Observer quote that the return of Saturday Night's
- 12:57Speaker 2: Main Event will be announced very soon end quote, which
- 13:00Speaker 2: uh wrestled votes and later confirmed as well.
- 13:03Speaker 4: Well, I'm glad we have another night of prog wrestling,
- 13:05Speaker 4: because now there's what no open nights.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Well, that's unless you have a paper well Sunday, but
- 13:12Speaker 2: that's typically pay per view area.
- 13:15Speaker 3: This is probably like how Battle of the Bilts. There's
- 13:17Speaker 3: just something every few months or something.
- 13:19Speaker 2: So yeah, maybe maybe something special that they do. I
- 13:22Speaker 2: think it would be cool if they're going to do
- 13:24Speaker 2: this the Saturday night's main event, because haven't they used
- 13:26Speaker 2: it for house shows. Yes, it would be cool if,
- 13:30Speaker 2: like they they would use that as like a like
- 13:31Speaker 2: a special house show type deal, like you know, I
- 13:35Speaker 2: don't know, it's it's it's an idea that I literally
- 13:38Speaker 2: just popped in my head.
- 13:39Speaker 3: But yeah, no, it did starcade like that for a
- 13:42Speaker 3: little bit too.
- 13:43Speaker 2: That's true. That's very true. They with these house shows,
- 13:46Speaker 2: they it seems like they have been rehashing like old
- 13:51Speaker 2: old show names and stuff such as let's start there.
- 13:55Speaker 3: They were actually like showing footage on the ww neilwor
- 13:58Speaker 3: concession that they just kind of stopped at for some reason.
- 14:00Speaker 4: Well, maybe they could bring back like previous announcers for it.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Yeah, like mean, Jeane, all right, hold on, why didn't
- 14:13Speaker 2: anyone tell me?
- 14:14Speaker 1: Why do you not know this stuff? The Internet?
- 14:19Speaker 4: I don't get on that.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Do you know what's on there?
- 14:23Speaker 3: Are you?
- 14:23Speaker 1: Jesse?
- 14:24Speaker 3: You just don't go on the internet? Who Jesse Ventura?
- 14:32Speaker 2: All right, we're back, that's him. Yes, Wow, they're smart.
- 14:36Speaker 3: Speaking of which, uh, people are speculating they should have
- 14:39Speaker 3: Jesse Ventura and Corey Graves due to Saturday Night's main event.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Maybe I don't know how well Jesse would be these
- 14:48Speaker 2: days own the mic.
- 14:50Speaker 4: I think it'd be great.
- 14:54Speaker 5: You know, that's your body Schlager. And you know down
- 14:58Speaker 5: in the Baja where I've got a out a pack
- 15:00Speaker 5: of I let's say about, there's fifty dogs in there
- 15:03Speaker 5: that all look at me as their leader. I've seen
- 15:06Speaker 5: a body slam.
- 15:09Speaker 2: Did either of you see this is this is off
- 15:11Speaker 2: topic since we're talking about Jesse. Did either of you
- 15:14Speaker 2: calm down?
- 15:15Speaker 3: Bay?
- 15:16Speaker 2: Did either of you see the Chris Vanvlie interview? Yeah?
- 15:20Speaker 4: I was there.
- 15:22Speaker 2: I know you were.
- 15:23Speaker 4: Yep.
- 15:23Speaker 2: So what so what's your what's your thoughts on on
- 15:25Speaker 2: carrying cross and Will's Sasso's.
- 15:28Speaker 4: You know, it's the biggest form of flattery.
- 15:32Speaker 1: You know.
- 15:32Speaker 5: I thought it was really good. But I don't have
- 15:35Speaker 5: to tell you that because I was there.
- 15:38Speaker 4: You know.
- 15:38Speaker 3: Yep, you the Baddy, Yep, Yeah, that's all yep.
- 15:44Speaker 2: Oh, the battye is just yeah, he's there. But speaking
- 15:50Speaker 2: of you.
- 15:50Speaker 4: Have any more questions for me there?
- 15:52Speaker 1: Huh?
- 15:53Speaker 2: Not at the moment, none, Hollywood.
- 15:55Speaker 4: Now, you know, I was in Hollywood. I'm gonna go
- 15:59Speaker 4: take a.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Nap now, Okay, go take your nap.
- 16:01Speaker 3: Interesting about mister Ventura, he's basically a pin or a
- 16:06Speaker 3: signature away from signing a WWE contract.
- 16:09Speaker 2: Has he He hasn't signed it yet.
- 16:10Speaker 3: I don't know if he signed it yet, But in
- 16:12Speaker 3: that interview he said, basically everything is written up, they
- 16:14Speaker 3: just need two signatures on it.
- 16:16Speaker 2: Oh wow.
- 16:17Speaker 4: If only there was a time that you all could
- 16:18Speaker 4: ask him.
- 16:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, he's a here he went took his nap. Well,
- 16:23Speaker 2: I don't know if it's so much him as much
- 16:24Speaker 2: as it's Baddie. Yeah.
- 16:26Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know.
- 16:27Speaker 2: I don't know either, speaking of somebody that Jesse Ventura hates. Though.
- 16:32Speaker 4: Kennedy McMahon.
- 16:35Speaker 2: Baby Mister McMahon a documentary that's going to air on
- 16:40Speaker 2: Netflix on starting on September twenty fifth. There will be
- 16:43Speaker 2: six one hour episodes for this. It's coming straight from
- 16:46Speaker 2: Netflix's website. Quote executive producer, produced by Chris Smith. He
- 16:51Speaker 2: also was a director of Tiger King. We all remember
- 16:54Speaker 2: that one, ye.
- 16:57Speaker 4: Did you not?
- 16:57Speaker 3: I never watched?
- 16:58Speaker 2: Nope, you you should some time ago. Watch that. Go
- 17:01Speaker 2: watch that.
- 17:03Speaker 4: It's something.
- 17:04Speaker 2: It's Definitely Something and Bill Simmons. Mister McMahon chronicles the
- 17:09Speaker 2: rise and fall of Vince McMahon, controversial businessman and co
- 17:13Speaker 2: founder of WWE. The series covers McMahon's transformation of WWE
- 17:17Speaker 2: from a small regional business into a global entertainment powerhouse,
- 17:22Speaker 2: and the explosive sexual misconduct allegations that led to his
- 17:26Speaker 2: eventual resignation. The series was crafted from more than two
- 17:29Speaker 2: hundred hours of interviews with McMahon himself prior to his resignation,
- 17:33Speaker 2: his family members, business associates, and some of the most
- 17:37Speaker 2: iconic names in wrestling history, as well as the journalists
- 17:39Speaker 2: who uncovered McMahon's allegations. End quote that's coming straight from
- 17:44Speaker 2: Netflix's yea website allegedly. I don't know if anybody has
- 17:49Speaker 2: been able to confirm this. The last I check, that
- 17:51Speaker 2: was just rumors. There are those in ww who are
- 17:54Speaker 2: not happy about this Documentaryeah.
- 17:56Speaker 3: Yes, because they were originally on Blake actually helping to
- 18:00Speaker 3: produce this, and then when these allegations came out and stuff,
- 18:02Speaker 3: they essentially backed out of it. And now it's only
- 18:04Speaker 3: Netflix doing it.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Which is kind of crazy because like, but it not
- 18:10Speaker 2: rolled about to go on Netflix. Yeah, they're going to
- 18:12Speaker 2: They're going to put this out there, so you know,
- 18:15Speaker 2: and then and and and the inks dried. They've already
- 18:18Speaker 2: signed everything, so it's happening. And then they're going to
- 18:21Speaker 2: have this documentary on there. So it also does seem
- 18:25Speaker 2: like that Netflix and I We'll get to the next one.
- 18:27Speaker 2: It also does seem like Netflix is going to going
- 18:30Speaker 2: into the wrestling business something. Glow they did. They did
- 18:35Speaker 2: have glow on there, which yeah, that can ye, Yeah,
- 18:40Speaker 2: that was that. It was a good show though Mark
- 18:43Speaker 2: Marin was awesome in that it was I mean really
- 18:45Speaker 2: all of them were. Yeah.
- 18:47Speaker 4: There there was an actress on there. She plays like
- 18:49Speaker 4: the the she Wolf character, Gail Rinkin.
- 18:54Speaker 2: I don't know, it's been a long time seen the
- 18:57Speaker 2: movie since I've seen the series.
- 18:59Speaker 4: She's currently on Broadway in Cabaret is oils next to
- 19:04Speaker 4: Eddie Redmain as the MC.
- 19:05Speaker 2: Oh wow.
- 19:06Speaker 4: Yeah, Well, while I was doined my forgiveness speeches in
- 19:11Speaker 4: New York, I went and saw Cabaret.
- 19:15Speaker 2: Huh so allright, and like I just said, with Netflix,
- 19:19Speaker 2: they are going further into a wrestling dump. Matsumoto documentary
- 19:24Speaker 2: about her is coming out. This is again coming from
- 19:26Speaker 2: Netflix's website quote how did one woman whip Japan into
- 19:30Speaker 2: a Frenzy? Launching on September nineteenth, The Queen of Villains
- 19:33Speaker 2: unveils the story of Dump Matsumoto, the most terrifying heel
- 19:37Speaker 2: during the golden age of women's par wrestling in Japan
- 19:39Speaker 2: aka Joshi Wrestling. Spanning five episodes, the series explores the
- 19:43Speaker 2: events that led to her rise decades ago. From the
- 19:46Speaker 2: seventies to the eighties, female par wrestling tag teams like
- 19:49Speaker 2: Beauty Pair and Crush Gals become became national icons. They
- 19:54Speaker 2: captivated Japan not only by competing, but also by singing
- 19:58Speaker 2: and dancing in the ring. On the other side of
- 20:00Speaker 2: this was Dump Matsumoto, the sworn villain of the Crush Goals.
- 20:04Speaker 2: She made all of Japan her enemy, wreaking havoc in
- 20:07Speaker 2: and outside of the ring. But once upon a time,
- 20:10Speaker 2: young Dump Matsumoto was told she was too kind to
- 20:13Speaker 2: be a villain. What events made her one of the
- 20:16Speaker 2: most disliked figures in Japanese wrestling history? End quote we
- 20:22Speaker 2: are yeah, I don't I'll say this. I don't know
- 20:24Speaker 2: that much about her.
- 20:25Speaker 3: I've never heard of her before.
- 20:26Speaker 4: This.
- 20:27Speaker 2: I know Aja Kong, I know Bull Nakano, h Monomi Toyota.
- 20:34Speaker 2: I think that's what. I think I got that correct.
- 20:37Speaker 2: I know a few from that period. I don't know
- 20:39Speaker 2: too that much about her, So me being the Japanese
- 20:43Speaker 2: wrestling person that I'm like, you know, the likes this
- 20:46Speaker 2: kind of stuff. I am. I'm looking forward to this
- 20:49Speaker 2: because I will. I love to learn new things with wrestling.
- 20:52Speaker 4: I just do.
- 20:53Speaker 2: And also, like Joshi wrestling is, it's it's great, it's fantastic,
- 20:59Speaker 2: it's it is what you would expect from from Japanese wrestling,
- 21:04Speaker 2: just in a female form. Julia who is going to
- 21:07Speaker 2: make her debut this week on NXT against Chelsea Green.
- 21:11Speaker 2: She is well known for her josh wrestling in uh
- 21:15Speaker 2: in Japan. Now there are rumors about does she stick
- 21:20Speaker 2: with the same stiff style that she had in Japan.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Some are saying she is, some are saying she's going
- 21:25Speaker 2: to change it a little bit. I would say that
- 21:26Speaker 2: she's probably gonna change it a little bit just because
- 21:28Speaker 2: of you know, look at Knackamore, who is quote unquote
- 21:31Speaker 2: the king of strong style came over when he did
- 21:33Speaker 2: tone his his style that was also under a different
- 21:36Speaker 2: era to That's very very true, very good point.
- 21:39Speaker 3: I almost feel like like this debut match might see
- 21:42Speaker 3: a tiny bit of that strong style or whatever, and
- 21:45Speaker 3: then maybe in the big matches we'll really see what
- 21:48Speaker 3: she can do. Yeah, yeah, that's true that she has
- 21:50Speaker 3: a title match come up as well.
- 21:51Speaker 2: So yeah, yeah, so what, well we'll see about that. Well,
- 21:55Speaker 2: you know, we'll see how her debut goes.
- 21:57Speaker 3: A semi stick on Netflix sty We're going to do
- 21:59Speaker 3: a Hawk documentary, but that has, I guess been canned.
- 22:02Speaker 2: So yeah, yeah, that was.
- 22:04Speaker 4: A documentary or a biop.
- 22:06Speaker 2: Was I was gonna say, wasn't that? Yeah, gonna say
- 22:11Speaker 2: Chris Hamsworth was supposed to be in it, and yeah,
- 22:12Speaker 2: they canceled that. So yeah, Just to close everything out,
- 22:18Speaker 2: I just want to give a shout out to Adam
- 22:20Speaker 2: Harris and regard to pro Wrestling for a slam PAUSEA three.
- 22:24Speaker 2: We got a shout out there at the show. At
- 22:26Speaker 2: the very beginning, it was a great show, awesome crowd. Uh,
- 22:31Speaker 2: it was a little on the hotter side at the beginning,
- 22:33Speaker 2: just because we're in the you know, we're in still
- 22:35Speaker 2: in summertime. But as it went on, it just it
- 22:39Speaker 2: cooled down. It was. It was a lot better. That's
- 22:41Speaker 2: out of their control. Though I was not there for work.
- 22:45Speaker 2: I was there purely as a fan, and then you know,
- 22:49Speaker 2: some work stuff came out of it. So just want
- 22:52Speaker 2: to say thank you to Adam and them for giving
- 22:54Speaker 2: us that shout out for you know, telling people about us,
- 22:57Speaker 2: because we do we we work, We do what we
- 22:59Speaker 2: can around here. We work our butt off trying to
- 23:02Speaker 2: let people know about local wrestling. And we're gonna stop
- 23:05Speaker 2: it right there. When we come back, we'll have the
- 23:10Speaker 2: top fifty WW themes from Bleacher Report and also a
- 23:13Speaker 2: couple of announcements. Stay tuned.
- 23:22Speaker 1: It's time for more of the Grill out here. It's
- 23:24Speaker 1: Hollywood Jeff Petty.
- 23:27Speaker 2: Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen to the Grill. And I'm
- 23:30Speaker 2: your host, Hollywood Jeff Betty, and I'm joined by my
- 23:33Speaker 2: two co hosts. I didn't say that in the previous segment. No,
- 23:37Speaker 2: because we start talking. Yeah, Josh call babe and the
- 23:42Speaker 2: most humble man alive Jason Likens.
- 23:45Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 23:46Speaker 2: You're welcome.
- 23:46Speaker 4: Not the champ, And no, I'm not the champ because
- 23:49Speaker 4: you won. That's how it works. I'm perfectly fine with that. Yeah,
- 23:55Speaker 4: and for me being here with you too to help
- 23:59Speaker 4: make your show even better. You're welcome the.
- 24:04Speaker 2: Most humble man alive.
- 24:05Speaker 4: We appreciate your.
- 24:08Speaker 2: Gracing us with his presence.
- 24:10Speaker 4: All right.
- 24:10Speaker 2: So Bleacher Report came out with an article here recently
- 24:14Speaker 2: detailing the top fifty WW themes of all time? What
- 24:18Speaker 2: they consider their top fifty w W themes of all time?
- 24:21Speaker 3: Did they clarify which ones like because some of these
- 24:24Speaker 3: guys have had multiple themes.
- 24:25Speaker 4: I'm sure they does. I've been looking at it.
- 24:29Speaker 2: On the actual actual article.
- 24:31Speaker 4: I've seen what all I strongly disagree with.
- 24:34Speaker 2: I'm going to go ahead and give you they have
- 24:36Speaker 2: three honorable mentions. So I'm gonna go ahead and give that.
- 24:40Speaker 2: They have the million Dollar Man tend to be Aussie's
- 24:42Speaker 2: million million, million dollar theme, you know, the egotistical laugh
- 24:46Speaker 2: according to them, that he starts off with before you know,
- 24:49Speaker 2: his theme song hits the British Bulldog. Davey boy Smith
- 24:54Speaker 2: has that on there, and Nita, Nita had had a good,
- 24:59Speaker 2: a good theme for the time. Yeah, I mean it
- 25:01Speaker 2: was very two thousands.
- 25:02Speaker 4: Here's part of my problem with this list. Okay, okay,
- 25:09Speaker 4: for me, songs that should be on this list are
- 25:12Speaker 4: songs created for that person. So if you have Randy
- 25:18Speaker 4: Savage who had an amazing song, wonderful song, Pomp and Circumstances, Yes, yeah,
- 25:24Speaker 4: and he is the number four on this list, but
- 25:28Speaker 4: he used a great song that was already made true
- 25:33Speaker 4: like see him punk with cult personality. It's a great
- 25:36Speaker 4: song already made. Yeah for me. It should just be
- 25:42Speaker 4: songs made for that person.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Like like songs that were created through somebody like Jim Johnston. Yes, okay,
- 25:50Speaker 2: I'll say that.
- 25:52Speaker 3: I wonder if it's a case of like say Bray
- 25:55Speaker 3: White who worked with Code Orange to make the song.
- 25:58Speaker 4: That's different because the song kind of made for him. Okay,
- 26:03Speaker 4: So for example, Okay, as much as I am not
- 26:07Speaker 4: a huge hulk Hogan Fane Okay, yeah, he's number eleven.
- 26:13Speaker 4: His should have been in the top ten.
- 26:16Speaker 2: True, it is very iconic.
- 26:18Speaker 4: Seawn Michaels is twelve. Easily a top ten because.
- 26:22Speaker 2: Sean Michaels is twelve, yes, oh wow, hold on, I'm scrolling.
- 26:26Speaker 4: Easily a top ten.
- 26:29Speaker 2: Okay, let's see, holy holy crap. Okay, got Cardy Rhodes. Yeah,
- 26:36Speaker 2: Seawn Michael's number twelve. Wow, Sexy Boy is not in
- 26:40Speaker 2: the top ten. No that okay, that I don't know.
- 26:44Speaker 4: Yeah, but you see Triple H number ten. Motorhead was
- 26:49Speaker 4: responsible for giving Triple H the game. But yeah, the
- 26:52Speaker 4: song and King of Kings and all this, but it was.
- 26:55Speaker 3: Made, Yeah, Jim Johnson wrote them.
- 26:58Speaker 4: Yeah, it was they worked with. It was for them.
- 27:01Speaker 4: So I'm perfectly fine with that.
- 27:02Speaker 3: There Jim Johnson's version, him trying to sing.
- 27:04Speaker 4: This, I imagine it's hilarious.
- 27:07Speaker 2: Yes, In other words, it's not good.
- 27:10Speaker 4: It's like I love Living Colors. Culture Personality, What a
- 27:14Speaker 4: great song.
- 27:14Speaker 2: It is, which I'll say for seeing punk, Cult of
- 27:17Speaker 2: Personality is great.
- 27:18Speaker 3: His Ring of Honor theme was great.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I was gonna say his Ring of Honor fame
- 27:21Speaker 2: is great. I actually like this Fire Burns a little better.
- 27:24Speaker 2: That's just a personal preference for me.
- 27:26Speaker 4: Well, you know that was also Randy Orton's song back
- 27:29Speaker 4: in the day.
- 27:31Speaker 2: I believe so the kill Switch Engage song.
- 27:35Speaker 4: I believe, so, are you? Maybe I'm thinking of a
- 27:38Speaker 4: different one.
- 27:39Speaker 2: I think no, you're so. He had he didn't have that.
- 27:43Speaker 2: He had he did have a different song on than
- 27:45Speaker 2: what he has now. I think both of them are
- 27:46Speaker 2: by rev theory though.
- 27:48Speaker 4: Okay, I could be wrong.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm not. You know, I think that you I
- 27:53Speaker 2: know where you're going. But I don't think that it
- 27:55Speaker 2: was by kill Switch Engage. Okay, there's something there.
- 27:58Speaker 3: Okay, So Pane had something is similar if I remember correct.
- 28:01Speaker 2: Yeah, because his his was what finger eleven right slow chemical.
- 28:06Speaker 2: I think that's what it was because and this was
- 28:10Speaker 2: also the era where they used a lot of like
- 28:13Speaker 2: bands songs like you know, Stone Cold had Disturbed Glass Shatters,
- 28:18Speaker 2: you know, in the early two thousands.
- 28:20Speaker 4: That was I think Johnston still did Stone Coults though
- 28:24Speaker 4: didn'ty I don't know.
- 28:26Speaker 2: I don't think he did Glass Shatters.
- 28:28Speaker 1: He did do.
- 28:29Speaker 2: So let's see where is So Austin's is number one. Yes,
- 28:34Speaker 2: the song I Won't Do what You tell Me that
- 28:37Speaker 2: is by Jim Johnston. He did do that, but that
- 28:41Speaker 2: is based off of Rage against the Machines Bull's Parade.
- 28:47Speaker 2: That's what the riff of that. If you go and
- 28:49Speaker 2: listen to Rage against the Machines song the bulls Parade,
- 28:53Speaker 2: the riff is very similar to Austin's and that was
- 28:57Speaker 2: kind of where Austin was going with that. He that's
- 28:59Speaker 2: kind of the what he wanted to go for okay,
- 29:02Speaker 2: so he was, but he was responsible for that, and
- 29:05Speaker 2: he was also responsible for the Undertaker's theme song. Apparently
- 29:08Speaker 2: he started doing came up with it starting on the
- 29:11Speaker 2: on the piano.
- 29:12Speaker 3: It's also based on a classical theme too.
- 29:14Speaker 4: Yeah, Chopin's Funeral.
- 29:16Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah.
- 29:20Speaker 4: But like, okay, Number eight on this list is Brett Hart. Yeah.
- 29:27Speaker 4: For me, it's top five.
- 29:30Speaker 2: Top five Oh okay, yeah, the opening riff, the opening
- 29:34Speaker 2: chord is pretty pretty iconic with Bread.
- 29:37Speaker 3: I think Italian's version has really bumped it off from
- 29:39Speaker 3: me because I don't know. I've also never really cared
- 29:42Speaker 3: for Heart's theme, to be honest, really, yeah, okay, I
- 29:46Speaker 3: think maybe it's just because I never really cared for
- 29:48Speaker 3: Brett Hart.
- 29:49Speaker 2: Okay, I think in a way we have. We haven't
- 29:52Speaker 2: officially said this, at least for me. Listen, Brett Heart's amazing.
- 29:56Speaker 2: I've always been more with Shaw Michael's guy.
- 29:58Speaker 3: And I know we talked about Jason was here at
- 30:00Speaker 3: one time for that.
- 30:01Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, I think it was something like that. Yeah,
- 30:04Speaker 2: I am more of a sewn Michaels guy. Nothing against Brett.
- 30:08Speaker 2: Brett's great, but I just for some reason, I just
- 30:11Speaker 2: I lean more towards Sean and that has nothing to
- 30:13Speaker 2: do with the Montreal screwjob, That has nothing to do
- 30:15Speaker 2: with anything with that. Just that's just I don't know,
- 30:19Speaker 2: I've always had more of a play.
- 30:20Speaker 3: I think for me, it's just the fact I only
- 30:22Speaker 3: really ever saw the WCW. Brett Hart and then just
- 30:25Speaker 3: over the years his you know, old man hatred for
- 30:28Speaker 3: like everything.
- 30:28Speaker 4: No, I mean, that's perfectly understandable. I was always more
- 30:31Speaker 4: of a Sean Michaels fan, but I can't take away
- 30:35Speaker 4: the technical work that Brett Hart did. But just as
- 30:38Speaker 4: a on a song level, I think Brett Hart's for
- 30:42Speaker 4: me is top five.
- 30:43Speaker 3: Yeah, it's very that like early nineties kind of theme.
- 30:48Speaker 4: Yeah. Well, I mean and then you go down to
- 30:50Speaker 4: number fifteen and it's Kurt Angle. Yeah, like if.
- 30:56Speaker 3: It wasn't even his to begin.
- 30:57Speaker 4: With, no, no, but it I don't know. I mean,
- 31:03Speaker 4: Ultimate Warriors is, well, let's just well, you want to
- 31:06Speaker 4: do top twenty just read them off? Sure, okay, so
- 31:10Speaker 4: let's see you you want to take every other one
- 31:13Speaker 4: that'll work? Okay, So number twenty, Rob van dam So.
- 31:18Speaker 3: Which one is that for him? All one of the kind?
- 31:20Speaker 4: Okay?
- 31:20Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, it's a good one. Yeah, and they had
- 31:23Speaker 3: Degeneration X, which I believe the are You Ready version
- 31:26Speaker 3: from ninety seven.
- 31:28Speaker 4: And then eighteen is Rick Flair.
- 31:31Speaker 3: That's a classical theme to the.
- 31:33Speaker 4: It is and for me, it's one of those things
- 31:35Speaker 4: that because of that, I wouldn't put.
- 31:37Speaker 2: It top Yeah, now, wasn't it also on Stanley Kubrick's
- 31:41Speaker 2: two thousand and one oddis Yeah?
- 31:43Speaker 4: Yes, it was also funny enough the song that I
- 31:47Speaker 4: walked down the aisle too for my wedding, That is amazing. Yeah. Yeah.
- 31:55Speaker 3: So the next one's Brave White, and they kind of
- 31:57Speaker 3: going back and forth between his Fiend one and like
- 31:59Speaker 3: his last one which is currently used about Uncle Howdie
- 32:02Speaker 3: this Shatter theme, okay, which both are great.
- 32:04Speaker 4: Yeah. Sixteen is Ultimate Warrior, which I mean it was.
- 32:10Speaker 4: It was pretty much epitome Ultimate Warrior.
- 32:13Speaker 3: Yeah, just yeah, yeah, and of course got curting on
- 32:18Speaker 3: number fifteen. We mentioned a second ago.
- 32:20Speaker 4: Fourteen is John Cena. Do you think John Cenas is
- 32:22Speaker 4: a top ten.
- 32:27Speaker 3: I don't. Maybe it's it's super recognizable, especially in today's time. Yeah,
- 32:35Speaker 3: but I also really liked his first one he had, yeah,
- 32:38Speaker 3: doctor a Thugonomics one.
- 32:39Speaker 4: Yeah, I honestly, I prefer that one.
- 32:42Speaker 3: Yeah, in some ways, Yeah, you know, I.
- 32:45Speaker 4: Know that this one, this what the Time is now
- 32:49Speaker 4: one might be more recognizable, But I liked I just
- 32:54Speaker 4: like the persona that John Cena had with the doctor thugonomics. Yeah,
- 32:58Speaker 4: it was a lot grittier, and yeah, I just preferred.
- 33:02Speaker 3: It when he was actually a heel. Yeah. Number thirteen
- 33:07Speaker 3: Cody Rhodes Kingdom.
- 33:08Speaker 4: What do you think about that? You think that one
- 33:11Speaker 4: should be thirteen?
- 33:14Speaker 3: It it almost feels too recent to really put it
- 33:19Speaker 3: up that high.
- 33:20Speaker 4: Maybe yeah, well, Jeff, you've been quiet? What do you
- 33:22Speaker 4: think thirteen Cody Roads thirteen?
- 33:24Speaker 2: Ah, I think that that's pretty reasonable. There simp so
- 33:33Speaker 2: Cody's song, especially since he came to WWE, has sort
- 33:36Speaker 2: of taken on in life of its own in a way.
- 33:40Speaker 2: You know, there's you do have a w W crowd
- 33:43Speaker 2: now that is you know, singing, singing along to it
- 33:47Speaker 2: and everything. And also with your criteria about this Din Downstate.
- 33:53Speaker 2: Didn't they write this song for Cody? I think so,
- 33:55Speaker 2: like inadvertently they wrote it for Cody.
- 33:57Speaker 3: I believe they also did like the Missess theme and others.
- 34:00Speaker 2: Okay, all right, so and I think Downstate is a
- 34:03Speaker 2: is they're like big Wressling fans too. So yeah, and
- 34:07Speaker 2: I think.
- 34:07Speaker 3: The Woe in Kingdom it's a reference to previous Cody
- 34:12Speaker 3: Road themes like.
- 34:13Speaker 4: Every Soul one.
- 34:14Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, I don't know what his deal is with that.
- 34:17Speaker 4: Well, but I mean also, if you want to go
- 34:18Speaker 4: based off of like audience participation with entrances, you got
- 34:23Speaker 4: to put fan Dango up there. True, true, I mean
- 34:26Speaker 4: they would sing and dance.
- 34:29Speaker 2: I mean, you know, yeah, that was always a cool,
- 34:33Speaker 2: cool visual.
- 34:34Speaker 4: And then twelve, like you said, Sean Michaels.
- 34:38Speaker 2: That I agree with you that one should be higher.
- 34:40Speaker 4: I think it should be top ten easy.
- 34:43Speaker 3: I don't.
- 34:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think that one's debatable very much. Being
- 34:46Speaker 2: top of it being in the top ten. Then again
- 34:49Speaker 2: this is Bleacher Reports, yeah.
- 34:50Speaker 4: So and again as much as it pains me, number eleven,
- 34:54Speaker 4: hal Cogan should be.
- 34:55Speaker 3: Top ten American specifically.
- 34:57Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, yeah, that's true. I mean, now I will
- 35:04Speaker 2: I of course I didn't see Hogan in the nWo.
- 35:08Speaker 2: The only version of Hogan I saw in the DBO
- 35:10Speaker 2: was the w W version I was introduced to. Yeah, see,
- 35:14Speaker 2: I didn't because I didn't watch a w C w
- 35:16Speaker 2: I was a w w F kid. I do I
- 35:20Speaker 2: do like Voodoo Child. I mean I like Voodoo Child anyway.
- 35:23Speaker 2: I mean it's a great Jimmy Hendrick song. But I
- 35:24Speaker 2: just I don't.
- 35:25Speaker 4: But it's a great song. True. Yes, it's not just
- 35:28Speaker 4: a great wrestling entrance thing. True, Like it's not Hogan's
- 35:33Speaker 4: entrance theme. It's Voodoo Child.
- 35:34Speaker 2: Okay.
- 35:35Speaker 4: Like if you if you hear real American, it's like, Okay,
- 35:39Speaker 4: that's whole Kogan. You hear Voodoo Child and you're like,
- 35:41Speaker 4: it's Jimmy Hendrix. True, true, true, unless you're listening to
- 35:45Speaker 4: the Stevie ray Vaughan version, then you're like, that's not
- 35:47Speaker 4: Jimmy Hendrix.
- 35:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I kind of I kind of forget that. Steve
- 35:51Speaker 2: Ravon did a did a cover of it. But yeah,
- 35:54Speaker 2: also number ten being triple h I don't think that
- 35:58Speaker 2: one's very debatable putting in putting it in to the
- 36:00Speaker 2: top ten. Yeah, because that era of the game of
- 36:06Speaker 2: King of Kings of Evolution and no no Evolution isn't
- 36:10Speaker 2: specifically his theme, but just motor head churning those out.
- 36:14Speaker 2: Like I'll say this a little like seven year old me,
- 36:17Speaker 2: was that shaped what kind of music I was going
- 36:20Speaker 2: to listen to for the rest of my life.
- 36:21Speaker 3: Oh, Bleach Report should have done a little bit better
- 36:23Speaker 3: here and actually credited Jim Johnson for writing those They did.
- 36:26Speaker 1: Not do that.
- 36:27Speaker 2: Do better, Bleacher Report, do better.
- 36:30Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what I've been told before. Do better. Then.
- 36:33Speaker 4: Number nine see him punk with culture personality. I think
- 36:37Speaker 4: we can go past that. Eight Brett Hart.
- 36:43Speaker 2: The thing that the theme is great. Yeah, I mean
- 36:46Speaker 2: he does have a great theme and I and again
- 36:48Speaker 2: Brad Hart is is great.
- 36:50Speaker 4: He is.
- 36:50Speaker 2: I just I don't know. I've always been more of
- 36:52Speaker 2: a Michael's guy.
- 36:53Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 36:53Speaker 2: Just that's just me. It's just my preference.
- 36:56Speaker 4: Okay. So number seven then Batista with I Walk Alone,
- 37:00Speaker 4: written by Johnston and performed by Saliva Saliva.
- 37:05Speaker 2: Jeez, Okay, okay, so Saliva did they had Johnson. I didn't.
- 37:12Speaker 2: I didn't either. Saliva was like really been big in
- 37:14Speaker 2: the mid two thousands. They was. I think they did
- 37:17Speaker 2: the theme. They did the theme for Wrestlating A twenty three,
- 37:20Speaker 2: which is called Ladies and Gentlemen. It's a great song.
- 37:23Speaker 4: Okay.
- 37:24Speaker 2: So yeah, Saliva was like they were you know, Limp
- 37:27Speaker 2: Biscuit was really big in the early two thousands with
- 37:29Speaker 2: w they were kind of limp biscuit limp biscuit in
- 37:32Speaker 2: the late two thousands for them sort of in a way.
- 37:36Speaker 4: So do you think Batistas should be in the top ten?
- 37:39Speaker 2: I don't think so really, No, Okay, I think I
- 37:42Speaker 2: think it should be top fifteen.
- 37:43Speaker 3: Knowing that it's Johnston, I might say top ten maybe, but.
- 37:51Speaker 2: High up there. Say it. When I think of great
- 37:58Speaker 2: theme songs, Batistas does not pop in my head.
- 38:02Speaker 3: I always think. I always also think about the entrance
- 38:05Speaker 3: with the two with the whole thing.
- 38:07Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. He was actually talking to somebody who was
- 38:10Speaker 2: on a movie with here recently, and they were somebody
- 38:13Speaker 2: was explaining to him. I think it was Chris van
- 38:15Speaker 2: Vliet that was explaining to the person about, you know,
- 38:18Speaker 2: what his think what his entrance used to be, because
- 38:20Speaker 2: like he was talking about how he misses the crowd
- 38:23Speaker 2: and everything and how it's it is sort of a
- 38:25Speaker 2: drug to go out there and fill that energy. But
- 38:27Speaker 2: he just he he the way his career ended, he
- 38:30Speaker 2: wants it to wants to keep it that way.
- 38:33Speaker 4: Well, Josh, let me ask you this. You take out
- 38:35Speaker 4: the pyro is his is it still top ten? Because
- 38:41Speaker 4: what the list is is entrance? Yes, not just entrance.
- 38:45Speaker 3: True, it might be because I've always really liked his theme.
- 38:49Speaker 4: So okay, So number six The Rock, I don't I
- 38:54Speaker 4: don't think that can really be up for debate that
- 38:57Speaker 4: it has to be top ten. I mean even just
- 38:59Speaker 4: the po with if you Smell What the Rock is good?
- 39:03Speaker 2: Maybe even top five? Yeah, yeah, I think it may
- 39:05Speaker 2: may even make it into the top five for for me,
- 39:08Speaker 2: because yeah, you got the pop. Once you hear that opening,
- 39:13Speaker 2: you know who it is like, there's no if ans
- 39:16Speaker 2: orbouts about it, that d X and and the glass
- 39:19Speaker 2: shatter that so that and then also with the Undertaker's dong.
- 39:25Speaker 1: Which the rock?
- 39:26Speaker 3: Which version do we think should be the best of his?
- 39:31Speaker 2: Ah? Maybe I don't know right off the top of
- 39:38Speaker 2: my head.
- 39:38Speaker 3: I really like the Boss one.
- 39:40Speaker 2: The Boss one is pretty pretty sweet, it really is.
- 39:46Speaker 2: I don't not not Hollywood Hall Rock. That one was.
- 39:51Speaker 3: Take out the weird little vocals that's in it from
- 39:54Speaker 3: him that's in there, and it's fine, but his weird
- 39:56Speaker 3: little vocals that are interspersed, and it just makes it worse.
- 39:59Speaker 2: So do you just take like opening out and just
- 40:00Speaker 2: put in if you smeow like you just put that
- 40:03Speaker 2: in there, like pull that out? Put that in?
- 40:06Speaker 4: Is that?
- 40:07Speaker 2: What?
- 40:07Speaker 1: That?
- 40:07Speaker 2: Would that make the theme better? Was what I'm asking.
- 40:10Speaker 3: Oh, well it starts that way, still doesn't it? Well, no,
- 40:12Speaker 3: it has the build up then he does it, but
- 40:14Speaker 3: like he has these weird little interjections of like if
- 40:16Speaker 3: you smell, but it's not like the big one.
- 40:18Speaker 2: Yeah that's what?
- 40:19Speaker 3: Oh yeah yeah, take those out of it?
- 40:20Speaker 1: Probably better?
- 40:21Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, okay, well let me ask you all this
- 40:24Speaker 4: number five is Edge and there's Rob Zombies Never Gonna
- 40:29Speaker 4: Stop and Alter Bridges Meta.
- 40:31Speaker 2: Ingus so and I think was metal Ingus written for Edge?
- 40:38Speaker 5: No.
- 40:39Speaker 3: The story is that medal Ingus had wrote the song
- 40:42Speaker 3: and they showed him the lyrics to it, and Edge's
- 40:44Speaker 3: like can I have that? And they were like yeah sure.
- 40:46Speaker 2: And it's just okay, And it's like it exclusively follows
- 40:50Speaker 2: follows Edge around like it's like where he's in aw
- 40:53Speaker 2: as Adam Copeland. Now he still has Alter Bridges metal INGOs.
- 40:57Speaker 4: For me, it's not top five.
- 41:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I could get behind that personally.
- 41:02Speaker 4: I don't even think it's top ten for me.
- 41:04Speaker 2: Where would you place it?
- 41:06Speaker 4: Fifteen?
- 41:07Speaker 2: Okay, I'll say this, and maybe it's because I'm more
- 41:10Speaker 2: of a Rob Zombie fan. I like, never gonna stop
- 41:13Speaker 2: a little bit better. That's just me, and I know
- 41:15Speaker 2: that that we on this day and wrestling history. We
- 41:18Speaker 2: have the opening of Madlings. I get that, and then
- 41:21Speaker 2: not not knocking the song. And the song's great. It's
- 41:25Speaker 2: even on my Spotify playlist.
- 41:27Speaker 4: But okay, yeah, if it didn't say on this day,
- 41:31Speaker 4: would it be for on this day in wrestling history? No? Yeah,
- 41:35Speaker 4: so there we go. It just so happens that it's
- 41:38Speaker 4: some it's a song that's used in wrestling that says
- 41:41Speaker 4: on this day. Yeah, so no Number four Randy Savage
- 41:46Speaker 4: Pomping Circumstance. For me, it's a great song. But it's
- 41:49Speaker 4: a great song.
- 41:51Speaker 3: To graduate too.
- 41:53Speaker 4: Yeah, like the really, the only time the song's played
- 41:57Speaker 4: is out of graduation. And as much as I hate
- 41:59Speaker 4: to admit at it, even when I was graduating, whether
- 42:02Speaker 4: it be high school or college. Oh yeah yeah, I
- 42:05Speaker 4: was walking down and it starts playing. I'm like you yeah, yeah,
- 42:15Speaker 4: so you.
- 42:16Speaker 2: You mentioned that for for my graduation. We when we
- 42:20Speaker 2: were doing the rehearsal the night before, I did that.
- 42:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I did.
- 42:26Speaker 2: That exact same thing. We went to sit down and
- 42:28Speaker 2: they started playing it and I was I went, oh,
- 42:31Speaker 2: and somebody in front of me turns around and goes,
- 42:34Speaker 2: only you would be the only you would be the
- 42:37Speaker 2: only one sitting here doing that.
- 42:38Speaker 4: I will tell you something, Jeff Batty, It's not only you.
- 42:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:45Speaker 4: Number three, number three, Chris Jericho, that one for me.
- 42:50Speaker 4: It's definitely top ten.
- 42:52Speaker 2: Oh, absolutely, there's no.
- 42:53Speaker 3: I don't think there's much specifically, break the walls down
- 42:56Speaker 3: for the listeners.
- 42:56Speaker 2: Yes, the countdown, the you know the count down, the
- 43:01Speaker 2: break the wall and no matter which iteration you got,
- 43:04Speaker 2: whether it's the millennium clock, whether it's you know, the
- 43:08Speaker 2: code Jericho coming out, it's it's a great It is
- 43:12Speaker 2: a great song, and it is very very christ Jericho. Yeah,
- 43:17Speaker 2: like Judas is great. And yes it is his band,
- 43:21Speaker 2: and yes he is the one that's singing it.
- 43:23Speaker 3: It was not original universally theme, No, it wasn't, and
- 43:26Speaker 3: neither was his current one spotlight.
- 43:28Speaker 2: True true, true.
- 43:29Speaker 4: Well let's go down number two.
- 43:31Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, because we all got a couple of minutes left.
- 43:33Speaker 2: The Undertaker top five has.
- 43:35Speaker 3: To be honestly, all his themes have been great.
- 43:38Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true. The Yeah, the Funeral March.
- 43:43Speaker 3: The ministry one, the role in Yeah.
- 43:49Speaker 2: Whatever else he had, the Ministry of Darkness is a
- 43:52Speaker 2: is a a good one.
- 43:54Speaker 4: That is Okay, before we get to number one, what
- 43:57Speaker 4: is one that you all would have had in the
- 43:59Speaker 4: top ten that isn't in this top ten? Michaels okay,
- 44:04Speaker 4: that we haven't already said should be in the.
- 44:06Speaker 2: Top that we haven't already said, Okay, that is in
- 44:09Speaker 2: the top fifty doesn't have to be.
- 44:11Speaker 3: Okay, maybe it's recency bias, but uh, Rubin reigns.
- 44:16Speaker 4: Yeah, okay.
- 44:18Speaker 3: I'm not sure if I like his Tribal Chief version
- 44:22Speaker 3: or his current one more, because they're both really good.
- 44:25Speaker 4: True true.
- 44:28Speaker 2: Mc foley's twenty six huh.
- 44:31Speaker 4: No, I'm pretty sure he's older than that.
- 44:33Speaker 2: I know he's older though that his theme is ranked
- 44:35Speaker 2: twenty six on air. Hmm, so you know Edgar Era Okay,
- 44:42Speaker 2: not just because I just stumbled heat not no, no, okay,
- 44:46Speaker 2: hit the moscos. So yeah, that's a great one. Like
- 44:51Speaker 2: I was a little little like ten year old me,
- 44:55Speaker 2: that's when when when all that was going on, little
- 44:57Speaker 2: ten year old me was was yeah, I was saying
- 44:59Speaker 2: that I lie, cheat, I steal, I was doing it.
- 45:02Speaker 2: I was doing the whole Viva lovers and everything.
- 45:05Speaker 4: I think for me, one of them would have to
- 45:07Speaker 4: be Booker T.
- 45:08Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a that's an awesome one.
- 45:10Speaker 4: It's just starting off with that can you dig it? Suck?
- 45:13Speaker 4: And then just I mean I grew up with pretty
- 45:15Speaker 4: much that in w c W because it's basically the
- 45:18Speaker 4: Harlem Heat theme, and then all the way up to yeah.
- 45:22Speaker 3: A couple others. It probably not from w W US
- 45:25Speaker 3: w W n W A theme Yeah there, yeah, Goldberg's theme.
- 45:30Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, golg w c W theme. Yeah.
- 45:33Speaker 2: I was getting ready to ask which one w W
- 45:35Speaker 2: W E or w CD.
- 45:36Speaker 3: I know a lot of people hated the WWE version.
- 45:39Speaker 2: I thought I.
- 45:40Speaker 1: Didn't hate it.
- 45:40Speaker 4: It's just I grew up with the w c W one. Yeah,
- 45:44Speaker 4: and one that is always going to be a top
- 45:46Speaker 4: ten for me is the four Horsemen theme. Just I
- 45:49Speaker 4: love that souf.
- 45:50Speaker 2: But but by that we're ore, we'rek stepping out of
- 45:53Speaker 2: WW at this point. Yeah, because we're specifically talking about
- 45:55Speaker 2: w W themes and yes, and we've already kind of
- 45:58Speaker 2: said it. Number one, Colch Steve Austin, I won't do
- 46:03Speaker 2: what you tell me. And like I said, earlier. It
- 46:05Speaker 2: is the riff is based off of based off of
- 46:08Speaker 2: Rage against the Machines Bulls on Parade. So if you
- 46:14Speaker 2: haven't listened to that song, listen to it and then
- 46:16Speaker 2: go listen to Stone Colt Steve Austin's theme. You there
- 46:20Speaker 2: that glass shatter no matter where it's at is an
- 46:24Speaker 2: instant pop Yeah, Like it's yeah, it is instantly a
- 46:28Speaker 2: pop because and it's also a lot of it has
- 46:30Speaker 2: to do with Austin's not around as much now and
- 46:33Speaker 2: this and that it's still like Stone Cold is like
- 46:38Speaker 2: he could step away for I mean he he has
- 46:41Speaker 2: stepped away where he has stepped away for a long
- 46:43Speaker 2: time from wrestling. He's still very very popular with him wrestling.
- 46:47Speaker 2: I think even his merchandise is still in the Tonto.
- 46:50Speaker 2: He's a cat daddy now.
- 46:51Speaker 4: I mean TikTok's with him and his cats.
- 46:54Speaker 2: He had it and he was all sho. He was
- 46:56Speaker 2: sitting there having Like the other day I saw a
- 46:58Speaker 2: picture he had one of his chickens in his truck
- 47:01Speaker 2: with him while he's sitting there having a drink or something.
- 47:04Speaker 4: So, yeah, if you haven't seen The Father's Day TikTok
- 47:08Speaker 4: with where Poncho and Macho got him a father's stay gift.
- 47:12Speaker 2: Oh okay, never thought that stone Cold Steve Auston would
- 47:17Speaker 2: be a cat dad. So we're gonna go ahead and
- 47:20Speaker 2: close it out there real quick. A couple of announcements
- 47:22Speaker 2: because we this show is one year old. We are
- 47:25Speaker 2: we are one, we have now, we're over one year
- 47:28Speaker 2: now or one year anniversary was September third. This show
- 47:31Speaker 2: is one years old, years old, one year old, leave
- 47:36Speaker 2: me alone, one year old, and we're going to make
- 47:40Speaker 2: some changes to this so the format is going to change.
- 47:42Speaker 2: This will be the last show we are going to
- 47:44Speaker 2: stick with this current format where we go ahead and
- 47:46Speaker 2: we do our little discussion, we do our you know,
- 47:48Speaker 2: the news in the first segment, then we have something
- 47:50Speaker 2: in the middle segment, and then we have on the
- 47:52Speaker 2: Stay in Wrestling History, and the main event in the
- 47:55Speaker 2: final segment. What we are going to do is at
- 47:57Speaker 2: the end of the first segment, now we're going to
- 48:00Speaker 2: do on this day in Wrestling History, and then at
- 48:02Speaker 2: the end of the second segment will be the main event.
- 48:05Speaker 2: And then the final segment, the final little bit of
- 48:07Speaker 2: this show that we are getting ready to go into
- 48:09Speaker 2: will just sort of be our final thoughts and final
- 48:11Speaker 2: comments that we have on other things that we couldn't
- 48:14Speaker 2: get in during said segment. That's one thing that we're
- 48:17Speaker 2: going to work that we're going to change. Another thing
- 48:20Speaker 2: that we are going to come out with and this
- 48:22Speaker 2: will be this will debut next Sunday along with this show,
- 48:26Speaker 2: so you get two of them. September fifteenth. We are
- 48:29Speaker 2: going to start putting out extra content. Now this will
- 48:31Speaker 2: be a monthly thing. We're not doing this every week, okay,
- 48:34Speaker 2: because like I said last week, these or this isn't
- 48:37Speaker 2: our day job, and I'm not meaning that in a
- 48:40Speaker 2: in any type of way. Just to let people know
- 48:42Speaker 2: that this is this is a passion project for the
- 48:44Speaker 2: three of us. We're going to release what is called
- 48:48Speaker 2: the Grill Out hot Tag, and basically what it is
- 48:51Speaker 2: is just a shorter version of the Grill Out where
- 48:54Speaker 2: we are talking about various different topics. The first just
- 48:57Speaker 2: to give you an example, the very first episode will
- 49:01Speaker 2: be about the infamous mood a scale. So again, format
- 49:06Speaker 2: is changing, and next week we will debut the Grill
- 49:10Speaker 2: Out hot Tag, so and that will be a monthly thing.
- 49:13Speaker 2: So with that being said, we're going to close it
- 49:15Speaker 2: out there and when we come back. We will have
- 49:18Speaker 2: on this day in Wrestling History, and the main event
- 49:20Speaker 2: stay tuned.
- 49:32Speaker 1: Once again. Here's Hollywood, Jeff Petty.
- 49:35Speaker 2: Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen to the grill Outs, Episode
- 49:39Speaker 2: fifty two. I'm your host, Hollywood, Jeff Petty, and I'm
- 49:41Speaker 2: joined by my two co host, Josh Cole. Bye bye,
- 49:46Speaker 2: the current Grillout Predictions Heavyweight Champion, and then the most
- 49:49Speaker 2: humble man alive, Jason Likens.
- 49:52Speaker 4: You're welcome.
- 49:53Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 49:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 49:55Speaker 2: On this day in Wrestling History, September eighth, nineteen seventy nine,
- 50:13Speaker 2: Intercontinental Champion Pat Patterson defeated WWF Champion Bob Backland by
- 50:18Speaker 2: count out in a rare champion versus champion match in Springfield, Massachusetts.
- 50:23Speaker 2: Woo yep. This wasn't too long after Pat Patterson won
- 50:28Speaker 2: his Intercontinental championship in a tournament in Rio Desion. They were, oh, both, yeah,
- 50:32Speaker 2: I think this is about a week afterwards, actually, because
- 50:34Speaker 2: then we talked about it last week. Josh, I think so, Yeah,
- 50:38Speaker 2: I think I think it was last week. Was the
- 50:39Speaker 2: anniversary of that? Yeah, all right. September eighth, nineteen ninety one,
- 50:44Speaker 2: the National Wrestling Alliance officially stripped Rick Flair of their
- 50:48Speaker 2: World Heavyweight title. Flair had left WCW in July, but
- 50:52Speaker 2: was still the official WCWN NWA champion. WCW took the
- 50:56Speaker 2: main belt off of him immediately in quotations on paper only,
- 51:00Speaker 2: as he would turn up on WWF television with the
- 51:03Speaker 2: big gold belt that same week, but for some reason,
- 51:06Speaker 2: it took the nw A two months to do the same.
- 51:10Speaker 2: So then he get like a seasoned assist sent to
- 51:13Speaker 2: him for that.
- 51:14Speaker 4: Pretty sure.
- 51:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's how this that's how the story went.
- 51:17Speaker 2: You know, they showed up. He's called himself the real
- 51:19Speaker 2: world champion and all of that, and.
- 51:21Speaker 4: After he won the WWF title, he proclaimed himself to
- 51:25Speaker 4: be the real undisputed champion.
- 51:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 51:27Speaker 2: That's smart, that's smart.
- 51:28Speaker 3: And interestingly, that whole nwawsw thing is why, at least
- 51:32Speaker 3: I assume why WWE doesn't count that NWA ra in
- 51:36Speaker 3: for his you know aid or whatever. Yeah, yeah, that
- 51:39Speaker 3: he counts one of his w W ones.
- 51:40Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that that very well could play into it.
- 51:44Speaker 2: Because also, like once the season thisst came out, he
- 51:46Speaker 2: was in house shows holding up basically a replica of
- 51:49Speaker 2: the World Tag title. I think that's what it was,
- 51:52Speaker 2: like it just said world on it, like, so that
- 51:54Speaker 2: was that was because of the season. This is there's
- 51:57Speaker 2: there are photos out there of this of him at
- 51:59Speaker 2: how and he's holding up a belt and is straight
- 52:01Speaker 2: up the WWF tag title like it's not the actual title,
- 52:05Speaker 2: but it's like a replica of it with the world
- 52:07Speaker 2: with the word world on there. So yeah, that's because
- 52:11Speaker 2: of the season. This isst just to cap everything off
