- 0:42livestream, you're like in the room with us.
- 0:45So we're glad that you're here were jumping into Genesis 8
- 0:49where we left off and I've entitled, our Bible study saved
- 0:54to be sent saved to be sent. And you remember, back in In
- 1:00Genesis, chapter 6, in verse 8, we learned that Noah.
- 1:05And actually there's that that word, but but Noah with
- 1:09everything going on around him, all that's happening in the
- 1:12world. All the sin, all the debauchery,
- 1:15Noah found Grace, in the eyes of the Lord.
- 1:19And he's been our Focus for the last few studies in the midst of
- 1:24a crooked and a corrupt generation.
- 1:26There was a man who walked with God.
- 1:29There was a And who found Grace? He found Grace from God.
- 1:34He wasn't perfect and he wasn't completely obedient.
- 1:38He wasn't completely loyal, but he was as much as a man could
- 1:42be, he really loved God, the Society of Noah.
- 1:46Remember what, what what he lived in is what Jesus said.
- 1:50The last days would look like, if you're taking notes, you can
- 1:53jot it down in Matthew 24 and verse 38.
- 1:56Jesus says very plainly for as in the days before.
- 2:00The flood, they were eating and drinking and marrying and giving
- 2:05in marriage until the day that Noah entered the Ark and they
- 2:09didn't know until the flood came and took them all away.
- 2:14So also, will the coming of the son of man?
- 2:17Be, we've learned that the time of Noah was a time of intense
- 2:21demonic activity, sexual immorality, violence perversity.
- 2:27A total disregard for the things of God.
- 2:30So much. So, with all of the spare time
- 2:33that people have They would make up things their imaginations.
- 2:37We're always thinking about Sin and making up new ways to sin.
- 2:42And the Bible says, the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was
- 2:45great in the earth. And that every intent of the
- 2:49thoughts of his heart was only evil continually and can you
- 2:53imagine what the days of Noah would have been like with social
- 2:58media? With the internet with the
- 3:02technology we have today, can you just imagine what that would
- 3:05be like, you know, you don't need to imagine you're living
- 3:08it. The days of Noah accelerated,
- 3:13the days of Noah, exasperatingly.
- 3:17Send multiplying traveling around instantaneously.
- 3:22And as we drop into chapter 8, the flood has come judgment
- 3:27arrived, Noah and his family enters the barge or the large
- 3:32boat that they built together, and we learn that for safety
- 3:36sake. Noah and his family were only
- 3:40safe in the ark. Nowhere else was safety found.
- 3:48In obedience Noah was saved as he entered the Ark, which we
- 3:52learn as a picture of Jesus Christ today, you are only safe
- 3:57in Christ. The only place of safety on the
- 4:00Earth, the only place of Salvation.
- 4:03The only source of Truth for us. Safety is found only in Jesus
- 4:08and I wonder how many gather together just to have a safe
- 4:11refuge for a few minutes, to have your minds focused back on
- 4:15the Lord, just just a safe Refuge just to take Of what true
- 4:19safety is, where your minds are focused on the Lord?
- 4:22I know so many times it is a safe place to be in the war.
- 4:26I just feel so comforted and encouraged.
- 4:30As my mind is fixed on the Lord just reminded of his goodness
- 4:34and his greatness. And his love for me notice now
- 4:37in verse 1 of chapter 8, Then God remembered Noah, and every
- 4:43living thing. And all the animals that were
- 4:45with him in the ark, and the God made a wind to pass over the
- 4:50earth and the waters, subsided, The Fountains of the deep, and
- 4:54the windows of Heaven were also stopped in the Rain from heaven,
- 4:59was restrained, in the waters receded, continually from the
- 5:03Earth. And at the end of the 150 days,
- 5:08the waters decreased interesting in verse 1, is it, it says God
- 5:13remembered Noah. Now we read that in the English
- 5:15language. Almost almost almost always.
- 5:18We would associate that as if God forgot about Noah, but the
- 5:23English doesn't really capture the Hebrew language here.
- 5:27The emphasis isn't like God saying, oh no, what happened?
- 5:31Where did they go? I'm forgot where Noah was.
- 5:33And what's happening on the earth?
- 5:35It's not like you. Got Noah, but rather it speaks
- 5:38of a constant reminding not only that the phrase here in the
- 5:42Hebrew is a Hebrew figure of speech, or a Hebrew idiom.
- 5:46And the idea behind this idiom is that whenever God is
- 5:49remembering whenever it's mentioned that he remembers,
- 5:52it's the beginning of a new fresh set of action on God's
- 5:56part for the person that's addressed.
- 5:59So now, God is going to begin to work.
- 6:01After all of the Judgment came the flood water start to recede,
- 6:04God is going to begin to. To work again with Noah and I
- 6:08like the idea and the truth, even just in the English
- 6:11language that God, remembered Noah that Noah came to God's
- 6:15mind that he cared for Noah that he cared for his family that he
- 6:19thought about him, that he remembered him.
- 6:22I mean, think about Noah's condition in the family of the
- 6:24long hours and the long weeks and months The time that they
- 6:30were in the art. The time that they now are
- 6:33dealing with more weeks than months, The Silence from heaven
- 6:38was probably difficult to explain.
- 6:41He was given an instruction, they followed the instruction
- 6:45and then he waited, does that sound familiar?
- 6:49Where it feels as if God's silent on the matter where you
- 6:53did. You even begin to doubt that I
- 6:55hear them correctly. I heard what he said and I
- 6:59obeyed that step and then there's silence.
- 7:02And one of the reasons why if there is a season of Silence
- 7:06where God has you waiting for a new word, a new Fresh word,
- 7:09won't one of the things that we so quick.
- 7:11See, God remembers Noah. But I'll tell you what we
- 7:14quickly forget that our relationship with God Is by
- 7:18faith. And if God gave us everything we
- 7:21wanted when we wanted, where would be the faith?
- 7:25Where would be the faith? God allows circumstances and
- 7:28situations to draw out of us a response.
- 7:32And we either respond with faith or faithlessness.
- 7:36Now, the good news is this, you go ahead and I probably respond
- 7:38more with faithlessness than anything.
- 7:41Well, the good news is this, the Bible says that, even, if we are
- 7:44faithless, he remains faithful. He can't deny himself.
- 7:51And so, even in our faithlessness God is faithful to
- 7:54us. God didn't forget, Noah Noah was
- 7:58always on his mind and his family and see.
- 8:01He caused a wind to pass. It says, in verse 1, he caused a
- 8:07wind to pass over the earth and the waters subsided.
- 8:13The Hebrew word here is ruach. It's a word to describe
- 8:18breathing. The moving of Life went off in
- 8:23as a symbol used in the scriptures of the Holy Spirit.
- 8:28The world is covered with water and the wind is moving over the
- 8:32waters and water. So often as a picture of of the
- 8:36word or for the Hebrew mindset, water is a sign of life.
- 8:42A necessity in life and I was reminded just taking us into
- 8:47seeing our King Jesus in John 6:63.
- 8:50It says, it is the spirit who gives life, the flesh profits,
- 8:53nothing the words that I speak to you.
- 8:56They are spirit and they are life.
- 8:59The words that I speak to you tonight, God isn't in parting to
- 9:03us. Life through his spiritual word,
- 9:07giving us Fresh Life in area. We didn't even know we needed a
- 9:11fresh infusion of his Virtual life.
- 9:13And it also reminded me as you remember in the beginning, where
- 9:18was the spirit? But hovering, and now is a new
- 9:22Second Chance through Noah, and his family.
- 9:24Where is the spirit across the waters bringing about and
- 9:29preparing for what God has up ahead.
- 9:32Even as the Holy Spirit leads us and goes before us to prepare
- 9:36what he has for us. So they're in the arc for about
- 9:40a hundred and ninety days. Give or take and the water start
- 9:44to recede. And you notice in verse 5 it
- 9:50says the waters decreased continually until the tenth
- 9:53month and in the tenth month on the first day of the month, the
- 9:57tops of the mountains were seen and actually come back to verse
- 10:024. It says then the ark rested on
- 10:05the seventh month and the seventeenth day of the month,
- 10:07upon the Mountains of Ararat, the resting of the Ark was for
- 10:13the Salvation of all mankind. When you hear it, when you read
- 10:17of this verse the ark rested, I want you to remember that.
- 10:21God kept his word, he saved these eight Souls so it wasn't
- 10:26just merely a command or some fanciful illustration from the
- 10:30scriptures to be safe. The only place of safety was in
- 10:33The Arc this resting of the arc proves God's word.
- 10:38He kept it, they are alive. They were saved in the arc.
- 10:44And the Bible says here that the amount that the ark rested in
- 10:47the Mountains of Ararat as one commentator put it and I quote
- 10:51Mount Ararat is about 16,000 feet in altitude when they
- 10:55exited. They would have been have to
- 10:56leave it and find lower ground. They wouldn't be able to use it
- 11:00to build houses and such. And remember he says it's also
- 11:04covered with pitch inside and out and that's why this
- 11:09commentary says, I believe that God will use the ark as a last
- 11:12days. Witness, Believe like many today
- 11:15that it's still there on Mount Ararat just as it spoke of
- 11:18judgment in the days of Noah. So too.
- 11:21Will it speak of the coming judgment in the modern days of
- 11:24Noah is an amazing even to consider.
- 11:27If it's still there it's going to be quite the testimony of the
- 11:30faithfulness of God as we learned last time.
- 11:34How so many people today, probably pop top five.
- 11:38Things in the Bible that are attacked a worldwide.
- 11:40Flood is one of them. The minimize it.
- 11:43All those are just a little small flood in a small part.
- 11:47No, it was a worldwide flood, and there's a need inside.
- 11:50You can jot it down if you want to look at it later and study it
- 11:53for yourself, but there's a neat Truth for those that study these
- 11:57things. On the day that the ark rested.
- 11:59It was the 17th, the day of the seventh month and it's no
- 12:04coincidence that Jesus himself was crucified on the 14th day of
- 12:09the seventh month and he rose from the dead.
- 12:12Three days later on the 17th day having passed through the waters
- 12:18of judgment, Jesus, stood and Resurrection upon the Earth.
- 12:22And thus, according to Hebrews chapter 4 verse 8, true real
- 12:26rest is only found in Christ. Unbelievable.
- 12:34The goodness and faithfulness of God pick up now in verse 6.
- 12:38So it came to pass at the end of 40 days that Noah opened the
- 12:42window of the Ark, which he had made.
- 12:45And he sent out a raven, which kept going to and fro until the
- 12:51waters had dried up from the earth.
- 12:53He also sent out from himself a dove to see if the water had
- 12:57receded from the face of the ground, but the dove Found no
- 13:04resting place for the sole of her foot and she returned to the
- 13:08ark to him for the waters were on the face of the whole earth.
- 13:12So he put out his hand and took her and Drew her into the ark to
- 13:15himself. Verse 10.
- 13:17And he waited yet another seven days and again he sent the dove
- 13:21out from the ark then the Dove came to him in the evening and
- 13:24behold a freshly plucked. All of leaf was in her mouth.
- 13:29And no one knew that the waters had receded from the earth and
- 13:32he waited Another seven days sent out the dove which did not
- 13:37return again to him anymore. So the Raven is sent out, I
- 13:43mean, really, if you it came to pass I like that.
- 13:46All the storms all the trials. No opens up the up the window
- 13:51and what does he see? It was probably a very
- 13:54discouraging site. It was probably not as clean as
- 13:59we read it in the scriptures. So probably very sad and solemn
- 14:05moment as the waters recede soggy desolate deserted.
- 14:14The consequence of many deaths. And he is ready to step into the
- 14:21newness of life and he sends out these birds a raven and a dove.
- 14:27Now, the Raven remember is an unclean animal and the dove
- 14:31would be a clean animal. The Raven.
- 14:34He finds a home in the judge and condemned world, but the dove
- 14:40does not and so symbolically the Raven here can represent the
- 14:45devil and the dove would represent the spirit.
- 14:49And the Raven takes off, doesn't come back, but the dove can't
- 14:52find a place and returns. the Bible says that, if you love
- 15:00this world, you don't have the love of God in you.
- 15:05That's a challenging verse because we immediately we can
- 15:07become all defensive and say I don't love this world, I love
- 15:10God. And I would believe you.
- 15:12If you said that I wouldn't argue, I would believe you.
- 15:16But as as followers of Christ, we have to pause and really have
- 15:21God search our hearts because I could say to you and I hope you
- 15:25believe me. I don't love this world, I long
- 15:27for the world to come. I love God.
- 15:30But just like, when Joshua, another type of Jesus went into
- 15:34the promised land, they're always pockets of resistance.
- 15:37In the promised land, there was Victory.
- 15:39Defeat Victory. Defeat Paul would describe it as
- 15:42the battle between the spirit and the Flesh.
- 15:45And while I can say to you with great confidence, both those of
- 15:48you that I get to look in the eye and then considering
- 15:50everyone listening or watching and right now, I can say with
- 15:53great confidence that I love God and I do not love this world.
- 15:59At the same time, I know there are pockets of resistance,
- 16:02because there are just parts of this world that I do, like, at
- 16:04times. Like, the Dodgers.
- 16:06For example, who doesn't like the Dodgers, And there's just a
- 16:10great joy that you could have and watching a baseball game and
- 16:15yet you can get caught up in it. All and baseball can become an
- 16:19idol to you. It's going to be something very
- 16:22nice and enjoyable and entertaining, but it can become
- 16:25an idol to you. You can have a hobby that you
- 16:29like, I like to read, I read a lot but even reading could
- 16:34become an idol or the technology of the day and idle or spending
- 16:39countless hours. I don't even say spending
- 16:42wasting countless hours navigating through the catacombs
- 16:47of social media, idolatrous, and feeding, you just the garbage of
- 16:54this world. Do you not think that's going to
- 16:56affect you? You don't want to live like the
- 16:59Raven and find a place of Safety and Security and this in a
- 17:04judged world. This is a judged world.
- 17:07It is living under the wrath of God by the grace of God, even as
- 17:13I speak. And that's one illustration
- 17:15here. Another one, I'd like to point
- 17:18out here when it comes to the Raven and the dove is that it
- 17:22speaks to us today of how God cares for clean animals.
- 17:26And the Animals. We have the Dove and the Raven
- 17:31together and to me symbolically that shows us that God not only
- 17:35cares for his family. You and me, that follow him, he
- 17:38loves you, he loves you, supremely, gave His only
- 17:42begotten son on behalf of, he loves you, he is for you, not
- 17:46against you. Those of you that love him and
- 17:49worship Him have a relationship with him.
- 17:51But you know that God loves those that are in Rebellion with
- 17:54him too. The clean and the unclean.
- 17:58We might have this snap judgment like David did it times judge
- 18:01them, take care my enemies and God says, I am taking care of my
- 18:06enemy in your enemies and my timing, but I love them.
- 18:10Even if at this moment you don't love them very much.
- 18:14The clean and the unclean. Those that are in Rebellion
- 18:19against him. And yet at the same time, we
- 18:22learn from God, that there is a line of Crossing that is a line
- 18:26of no return. If you are living a life in
- 18:30Rebellion to God, today, there is a line you can cross of no
- 18:34return. It's often referred to as the
- 18:39unforgivable sin. Or in a more technical biblical
- 18:43sense. It's referred to as the
- 18:44blasphemy of the holy spirit. Let me read to you lately, we
- 18:48haven't turned over to Matthew with me.
- 18:50Matthew chapter 12 want to spend a moment on, although, God does
- 18:54love the rebel. And God does Love The Sinner and
- 18:58God did send Jesus for the rebel.
- 19:01Don't get comfortable in your sin.
- 19:04Don't think you've got it. Made you hear stories of last
- 19:08minute. Conversions on a deathbed.
- 19:12Last moment. Repentance.
- 19:15You hear stories like that and it's true.
- 19:17God will receive the repentant even before their last breath?
- 19:21Yes. Yes, he will.
- 19:22He will hear the prayer of repentance and he will forgive a
- 19:26person. Even though the last moment, You
- 19:29know, there's a couple problems with that if you're going to
- 19:31wait for your last moment. Number one is, you don't know
- 19:33when your last moment is you weren't going to be able to plan
- 19:37that, but at the same time you are tempting.
- 19:40The Lord your God, by continuing to live in sin and think he's
- 19:44okay with it. He's not okay with it.
- 19:46Never mistake the love and the grace of God is approval.
- 19:49He doesn't approve of your sin, your sin and mine nailed Jesus
- 19:54to the Cross. He doesn't approve of it.
- 19:56You go away. You know I haven't been judged
- 19:58for it yet here. I am he's allowing me to say
- 20:01this and do this and post this and he I know, it doesn't he
- 20:04here? He is.
- 20:05God, must have proven no, no, no, God gave us a principal to
- 20:09describe that and it's simply this because your sin is not
- 20:12immediately, judged your heart gets more set and continuing to
- 20:17sin. And it gets more set because you
- 20:20think you got away with it, you think all this is okay.
- 20:23No big deal, I'll never get caught but the Bible also says
- 20:27that your sin will find you out. It can't be hidden forever.
- 20:31It will be revealed if not here on the Judgment seat of God at
- 20:35the great white Throne judgment. Every unbeliever will stand
- 20:39before God and give account for their lives and their resistance
- 20:43to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and we don't want that for you.
- 20:47And so what is this unforgivable sin read with me.
- 20:51Matthew chapter 12 in verse 31. Therefore, I say to you every
- 20:56sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men But the blasphemy
- 21:02against the spirit will not be forgiven.
- 21:06Men, anyone who speaks a word against the son of man, it will
- 21:09be forgiven, him, whatever, speaks against the Holy Spirit.
- 21:13It will not be forgiven him either in this age or in the age
- 21:17to come. And the question is, what is the
- 21:20best move of the Holy Spirit? What is this unforgivable sin?
- 21:23As many people along, the ways of the annals of Christianity
- 21:27have come up with all kinds of suggestions things.
- 21:30In our modern day, some have called divorced, the
- 21:33unforgivable sin, some have called A bad word or sing, a
- 21:37cuss word, or put any particular cuss word, the blasphemy of the
- 21:41Holy Spirit unforgivable sin or or a bad thought, or or evil
- 21:45wickedness, some have said it's the sin of homosexuality or
- 21:50lesbianism or any of the other types of sexual sins adultery.
- 21:54And I'm here to say that none of those sins are the unforgivable
- 21:57sin, not even blasphemy. Not even blasphemy.
- 22:03And for me, I'm very grateful that blasphemy is forgivable
- 22:06because before I was born again, I was a very Blasphemous man
- 22:09toward God. Very you, go ahead while we
- 22:13don't base salvation on your experience.
- 22:15Amen. Do you remember what Paul the
- 22:18Apostle said? As he was describing his life
- 22:21inspired by the Holy Spirit, he used this phrase although I was
- 22:27a blasphemer I did so in ignorance.
- 22:33And when you think of the blasphemy of the holy spirit,
- 22:35this unforgivable sin. First, I want you to understand
- 22:40that this is not a sin of speech.
- 22:45But of the heart. Now I know that Jesus is using
- 22:50the word speak so that the way this sin is manifested will be
- 22:57outward. But remember, also Jesus taught
- 23:01us that out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.
- 23:06So this is not so much just some, you know, you're driving
- 23:09on I-25 and you say some really bad thing and you think oh my
- 23:14goodness. I've just sent against old.
- 23:16I'm blaspheme the holy spirit because a guy cut me off.
- 23:19I might as well just go for it and live a life of sin now.
- 23:22Thank you for cutting me off and ruining my whole eternal life.
- 23:27Now we do chuckle at that but there are some Among Us, I have
- 23:30a very sensitive Spirit, very sensitive conscience and it
- 23:34plagues them It plagues them maybe your plague today because
- 23:38of your past and you're sitting here right now thinking you are
- 23:42Unforgivable. Unforgivable.
- 23:46First of all, the sin is not of the speech, it's of the heart,
- 23:50it's not just words spoken. It is reflection of the hardness
- 23:54of someone's heart and secondly, this sin is not a sin that
- 24:00merely minimizes Jesus Christ. Because you can speak against
- 24:05Jesus, and it's a distinction between just saying something
- 24:08against Jesus and then something distinctly against the Holy
- 24:13Spirit. Now, remember the spirit of God
- 24:16has a sing one of the singular role among unbelievers today,
- 24:20and that is to draw you to the father to convict you of sin.
- 24:25The holy spirit is moving on the Earth today among unbelievers,
- 24:28among the protesters among the angry.
- 24:31Among the poster. All of those that are in red.
- 24:34Billion against God. As I speak, the holy spirit is
- 24:37at work in their lives, to bring them to a place of repentance
- 24:41and conviction of sin. The idea of the Baptist or the
- 24:46blasphemy of the holy spirit, is a rejection of the spirits work,
- 24:52a rejection of his work, his wooing of a person, his
- 24:56testimony of Jesus, Bringing your attention back to him while
- 25:01Jesus was on Earth. He was 100% man, as well as 100%
- 25:05God. The scent of speaking against
- 25:08him in humanity could be forgiven.
- 25:11But as the spirit of God bore witness to his deity, specially
- 25:16of Jesus, at Pentecost, the rejection of the spirits
- 25:19witnessed now is final Can this sin be committed today?
- 25:24Yes. Yes, the blasphemy of the Holy
- 25:28Spirit can be a sin committed today.
- 25:32What is it in summary? It is the total complete
- 25:35rejection of Jesus and his offer of Salvation in your life that
- 25:41is Unforgivable. There is no remedy.
- 25:46There is no appropriation of the blood of Jesus Christ to the
- 25:51unrepentant. You will never enjoy the
- 25:54relationship with Jesus Christ in an unrepentant State.
- 25:58All manner of sin will be forgiven.
- 26:01Adultery murder. Blasphemy divorce stealing.
- 26:09Homosexuality lesbianism transgenderism.
- 26:17Fevery, you name the sun, all manner of sin will be forgiven,
- 26:22but the rejection of forgiveness cannot be overcome.
- 26:28It cannot be overcome. I see with the Raven and the
- 26:32dove here, God's heart for the saved and the Lost.
- 26:37It's a reflection of the Heart of Jesus that he wants to see in
- 26:41his church. It's easy to love the lovely.
- 26:46And it's easy to love those that love you.
- 26:49The real challenge of surrender and faith is to yield to the
- 26:53Agape of God. In those that he is allowed to
- 26:57still be alive today, the heart of God is he's not willing that
- 27:00any should perish. He's not willing that any should
- 27:04perish. That's his heart.
- 27:06Many will perish. Even as we see with Noah, many
- 27:09will perish, but that's not his heart.
- 27:11He's in remember, we learn in Peter second, Peter 3:9.
- 27:15The Lord is not slack concerning his promise as some count
- 27:18slackness but is long-suffering toward us not willing that any
- 27:24should perish but that all should come to repentance.
- 27:29Remember that when you think of the Raven?
- 27:31There's a lot to be Set on these birds but just think that clean
- 27:36and the unclean the saved in the unsaved, the lovely and the
- 27:39unlovely and you think, you know, which one of us are much,
- 27:43like, if I say okay in this room there are lovely and unlovely
- 27:46who's going to pick the unloved on the unlovely one?
- 27:49Now we all think we're the lovely one.
- 27:52But even so any loveliness in our lives is because of the
- 27:55grace of God. If and I you see anything lovely
- 27:58in the person next to you, you just turn around.
- 28:01Say, the person next to you are lovely.
- 28:02Like what just say, say it out loud, just tell somebody that
- 28:05they're lovely, you are so lovely.
- 28:09What you're commenting on is the presence of Jesus in their life,
- 28:13the loveliness. I mean, because think, you know,
- 28:15some of you weren't so lovely this morning, where you, you
- 28:17weren't so lovely at work when he got mad and yet, what does
- 28:21God do? He washes and cleanses us so
- 28:24that we might emanate. We might Express, we might be
- 28:29the aroma of life to so many You look at your life and you go
- 28:34man, I stink so bad and the Lord looks at you and Christ and
- 28:38says, oh no, you smell so good. You were in the right place.
- 28:42You have made the right decision to surrender your life to Jesus
- 28:46to my son to receive the Forgiveness of your sin.
- 28:51So in verse 12 and you come back to Genesis with me, he find, he
- 28:54waited another seven days and sounded of which did not return
- 28:58again to him anymore. The dove found a resting-place
- 29:01speaking to Noah now It's time to exit the ark.
- 29:05It's time. It's time to get out verse 13.
- 29:10Now And it came to pass in the six hundred and first year in
- 29:15the first month, the first day of the month that the waters
- 29:18were dried up from the earth and Noah removed the covering of the
- 29:22Ark and looked indeed. The surface of the ground was
- 29:25dry. And in the second month on the
- 29:2927th day of the month, the Earth was dry.
- 29:33Then Mark these words. Then God spoke to Noah saying,
- 29:36go out of the Ark. You and your wife, your sons,
- 29:39and your sons wives, with you, bring out with you.
- 29:42Every living thing of all the flesh.
- 29:44That's with you birds and cattle every creeping thing that creeps
- 29:47on the earth so that they may have bound on the earth and be
- 29:50fruitful and multiply, so Noah went out.
- 29:54And his sons and his wife, and his sons wives with him, every
- 29:57animal every creeping thing, every bird and whatever creeps
- 30:00on the Earth. According to their families went
- 30:03out of the Ark. So about 371 days later, the
- 30:09Earth is finally dry your saved. Now, go be fruitful and
- 30:15repopulate the earth. Now, go back with me in verse 1
- 30:19of chapter 7. I want to compare two passages
- 30:22with you to instructions. By Jesus, a lot of what we're
- 30:26studying in the book of Acts. You know, as God is really
- 30:28stirring us up as a church and and preparing us, and prepping
- 30:32us, and encouraging us and challenging us and inviting us.
- 30:36It isn't new to the book of Acts.
- 30:39Remember, the Bible is one unit with one author.
- 30:45The premier character of The Bible isn't Abraham, is an Isaac
- 30:49isn't Noah, it's Jesus Messiah. The seed that we were told that
- 30:56will come in and bring about the salvation of mankind, so
- 31:00everything is pointing to him looking to him.
- 31:02So what we're learning in the book of Acts is really a
- 31:05repetition of things that have been said before.
- 31:07So notice with me in chapter 7 verse 1, we have the instruction
- 31:11of God to Noah. Then the Lord said to Noah, come
- 31:16into the ark, come into the ark. You and all your household
- 31:22because I've seen that you're righteous before me.
- 31:24In this generation and we emphasize in our Study last
- 31:27time, that significance of invitation invitation church,
- 31:31one of the greatest powerful tools.
- 31:32You have in ministering to others is inviting people.
- 31:36Inviting come and see, come in here come and read this book.
- 31:39Come take this invitation after invitation after invitation, and
- 31:44we looked at throughout the scriptures, the significance of
- 31:48the invitations of God, because there are those two, they would
- 31:50say all the altar calls, not for today.
- 31:53Well, it's right. Right in line.
- 31:54With the invitation with the heart of God.
- 31:57God is an inviting God. Isn't that great?
- 31:59Aren't you? Great happy.
- 32:00Invited you in a relationship with his son, Jesus Christ, he's
- 32:04an inviting God. And here, in chapter 7, verse 1,
- 32:08there's the invitation. But now, in 8:16, the invitation
- 32:12now is followed by go. Come and then go go out of the
- 32:19RT, says you and your wife come into the ark for the appropriate
- 32:24for the specified time. But now it's time for you to go
- 32:29want you to Mark those. And if they happen to be on the
- 32:31same page in your Bible, it's good to Circle.
- 32:33Both of them, write a little arrow, between the two, they
- 32:37were invited to come in, that was the only place of safety but
- 32:41now that that place of safety Has positioned them in a
- 32:44different season of life, it was time for them to go out and go
- 32:49forward. I see this as a spiritual
- 32:52pattern for the believer for the New Covenant believer.
- 32:56Again you don't need to turn there but in Matthew 11:28.
- 32:59What does Jesus say? Come to me, all you who are
- 33:03weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest is not such an
- 33:05encouragement, come to me. You tired, heavy labor, ready to
- 33:10give up. Come to me.
- 33:12But then later in Matthew 28, what does Jesus say?
- 33:14Go, therefore and make disciples, it's exactly what God
- 33:18told. Noah, come they come in.
- 33:21Go out. Jesus says, you come to me and I
- 33:24gonna send you out again another pattern throughout the
- 33:27scriptures. Come and seek the Lord.
- 33:31And then go share his love, come and worship the king.
- 33:35But then, go and work among the world.
- 33:37Come in and study the word of God.
- 33:39But then go out and exercise your faith.
- 33:43It to me. It has a rhythm about it.
- 33:45Don't you feel the rhythm come? Go breathing.
- 33:52Breathing in, and then breathing out.
- 33:57And just like breathing, we have different Cadence's and timing
- 34:00and sometimes it's very exacerbated, sometimes it's
- 34:04struggling. Calm, go, calm, go.
- 34:11The rhythm of Our Lives. It speaks to the significance
- 34:16and not being isolated out by ourselves.
- 34:19I think of how many still haven't returned to Fellowship
- 34:23here. There or any any of churches.
- 34:26Just, they're just out there. They're not breathing anymore.
- 34:31There are two Rhythm. It's affecting every part of
- 34:33their lives. So as well, you know, I'll just
- 34:36catch five minutes on YouTube. No, it's not going to work or,
- 34:39you know, I think about God when I'm out golfing, that's not
- 34:41going to work. You need to seek first.
- 34:44The kingdom, of God, the rhythm of seeking first is calm and go
- 34:48come and go. One of the things that I That we
- 34:54teach our pastors and leaders. Here is the significance of
- 34:59learning how to invite yourself into.
- 35:01Someone's life is not, everyone will over.
- 35:03Ask you to come Not everyone will say I need you here, they
- 35:08might be embarrassed. They might not want you to know
- 35:11about what's going on in their life or some confess some sin,
- 35:15or they may not even know they can invite you.
- 35:18And so you want to learn to build the kind of trust in
- 35:20someone's life where you can gently invite yourself over.
- 35:25Invite yourself into their lives.
- 35:26Let's go. Grab a cup of coffee.
- 35:29You know, some of you are waiting.
- 35:30Well, you know, when somebody invites me for a cup of coffee,
- 35:32maybe I'll go, but maybe the Lord is telling you tonight that
- 35:35it's you, that God wants you to invite.
- 35:37It's a rhythm. He wants you to create where
- 35:40you're reaching out to people. I think of how many in a larger
- 35:43church over the years even as we've grown over the years,
- 35:45where how many are go? Yo, you're such an unfriendly
- 35:48Church, nobody talks to me, nobody talks to me, nobody talks
- 35:51to you. Who'd, you talk to, I'm not
- 35:52talking to anybody, and so they talk to me, so then that's on
- 35:56this side. Now, this guy over here is gone.
- 35:58Hey, nobody talks to me. And they're talking about this
- 36:00one, the never talk to him and they don't and I'm not pointing
- 36:02at you a particular, but if my finger hits you, you know, you
- 36:04should probably pray about it, you know.
- 36:06So, but I mean, you think if you were to step into someone's
- 36:10life, you'll have more people to minister to than you've ever had
- 36:14in your whole life. One of the tools, you have is an
- 36:17invitation invite someone invite someone into your life, invite
- 36:21someone into your home, invite someone down.
- 36:24You don't even have to go somewhere.
- 36:25Go invite someone hits. Just go downstairs and 15
- 36:28minutes as talk about what God is doing in your life.
- 36:31Another another tool in your toolbox that will be gratefully
- 36:35helpful view to connect is just this simple question, is there.
- 36:39What is there in your life that I can pray for you?
- 36:42How can I pray for you? What?
- 36:44What is it that you and I can just take to God on your behalf.
- 36:49Another great tool you can have is, hey, here's my email address
- 36:53if you ever need anything you ever need prayer unique.
- 36:55Just here. Here's my email address.
- 36:57Just email me. I'd love to.
- 37:00And then, of course, the response, the rhythm is the
- 37:03invitation and then the follow-up, the invitation, then
- 37:06the follow-up. For those of you that few
- 37:08isolated feel like you have no Ministry, you feel like nobody
- 37:11knows you. You feel like it is I can say it
- 37:15could be a very valid feeling, but you don't have to feel that
- 37:18way. Well, but Ed, I'm just so I'm
- 37:20just so nervous and shy. And, and okay, well, then start
- 37:24praying that the Lord will give you another nervous, shy person
- 37:28to reach out to and then Guys can just have at it, you know
- 37:31how are you? I don't want to say I don't want
- 37:33to say honestly like it's okay to be shy.
- 37:36There's other shy people, pray that God will lead you to one.
- 37:40Why? Because that's the rhythm of
- 37:42God. That's the New Covenant Rhythm.
- 37:44That's the old Covenant Rhythm come in to go out.
- 37:50And learn that perhaps you see something on someone's face and
- 37:53it doesn't even have to be somewhere.
- 37:55You just kind of invite yourself into their life, are you okay?
- 37:59Are you all right? Well what are you asking that
- 38:01for? Because Like you just look
- 38:03tired, you look sad. How can I help you?
- 38:07Are you? Alright, and even if you get the
- 38:09response to I don't need any that's okay.
- 38:12God connected you take the Rhythm, take them to the Lord,
- 38:15come and go come and go. That's the work of God on the
- 38:19Earth today. and just think of the power of the Church of Jesus
- 38:24Christ, if we would live with that rhythm, If that would be, I
- 38:29mean really that's the rhythm of Our Lives responding to the
- 38:33leading of the Holy Spirit and then and and rehearing it
- 38:36responding it and stepping into people's lives.
- 38:39Unbelievable. The potential of the church in
- 38:43these last days, there is no one in the world right now.
- 38:47Speaking, the truth of God except for his church, no one.
- 38:52And if you're silent, then the voice of God on the earth is
- 38:56silent. It's, it's so beautiful, what an
- 39:00open to her, but had they don't listen all, they're so loud.
- 39:03Yeah, that's fine. That's fine.
- 39:05Because even in the darkest of rooms, the smallest of light,
- 39:10Brightens up. Darkness is dispelled.
- 39:14We're just the ones that plant and water, but God gives the
- 39:20increase. And, you know, we're moving into
- 39:22a time in our culture where logic and reason is no longer a
- 39:26valid expression of conversation.
- 39:28That's why you even get more frustrated because the things
- 39:31you're hearing, even with the latest decision with Roe v--
- 39:34Wade, the things that you're hearing or some of the most
- 39:36illogical nonsensical responses to validate the murder of Babies
- 39:42in the room in the womb, and if you get caught in the Trap, you
- 39:46will be doubly frustrated. So let me, let me give you a
- 39:49night. First of all, first of all, you
- 39:51should know the biblical answers to the concerns in this world.
- 39:56You should know the biblical answers, you don't need to
- 39:58defend them. You just need to know them.
- 40:01You need to know the value of the sanctity of life.
- 40:04You need to know in Psalm 139 that Burr.
- 40:07That life begins at conception. You need to know the basics.
- 40:10You don't need to convince God. God does the convincing.
- 40:13You just need to be able to share the truth and one of the
- 40:16tactics and techniques that I use on my own life to help
- 40:19minimize my frustration. Is that when I'm having a
- 40:22difficult conversation with someone, I imagine it.
- 40:25My mind, a table in between us. And in my conversation, I'm
- 40:31taking the facts and I'm just putting them on the table.
- 40:36Just going to lay them out, I'm not going out them, I'm not
- 40:40getting caught up in it. I'm not hopefully I mean I'm not
- 40:44perfect at this but this is one of the tools I use in my mind.
- 40:47So I don't get caught up in all the emotion and all the rhetoric
- 40:50and oh I don't know. And that's such a good argument.
- 40:53You're so right? I'm so wrong.
- 40:54I shouldn't have believed the Bible for 30 years.
- 40:56I I put this, I put a table out and I just remember that I can't
- 41:01convince, I'm just going to put it there.
- 41:02I'm going to put it there. I'm going to put it there and I
- 41:05hope in there. Of Hearts, the holy spirit will
- 41:08say, would you pick that one up and go home with it?
- 41:11That was interesting, not not the ideal where I stumped them,
- 41:15hahaha. But rather let the Holy Spirit
- 41:20influence. And I know they're not going to
- 41:23participate, you know it's like well this Play-Doh game.
- 41:26Let's put it that they're not going to participate but that's
- 41:28on them. I'm not going to try to force
- 41:31anything. I'm not in if they're if I sense
- 41:35that there's a like they're just getting you know out of control.
- 41:38I'm just going to back off put my stuff on the table and just
- 41:41back off. I remember recently in someone,
- 41:47we were in a dialogue and I can see that she was getting very,
- 41:49very, very angry. And and I very gently said, I
- 41:53thought you wanted to talk about this.
- 41:55Do you not want to talk? I don't want to talk about it
- 41:57ever again. Okay, that was my answer.
- 42:01I the Lord use me to the capacity could use me.
- 42:04And now, I'm praying for the next one.
- 42:06Somebody's going to be watering Some of the plant another seed.
- 42:11Listen, the conversion of the world is not on our shoulders,
- 42:15but to display the love of God is our privilege.
- 42:19It is our privilege to be messengers of the Agape of God.
- 42:23It is our privilege to, to from that place of abiding in Christ
- 42:28to go into the world. And to be used by him.
- 42:32The Rhythm breathing in come and go come and go even today is
- 42:36part of the Rhythm, you've come to a gathering and now you're
- 42:39going to go Well, we're almost out of time, actually.
- 42:43We are verse 20. Noah built an altar to the Lord.
- 42:47If you like to write in your Bibles.
- 42:48Just write the first thing he does when he gets out.
- 42:51Is he worships? He worships relationship of
- 42:56worship again. Begins on the earth on the
- 43:00ground and he took of every clean.
- 43:03Animal of every clean bird offered burnt offerings on the
- 43:06Altar and the Lord smelled. A soothing Aroma and the Lord
- 43:10said in his heart, I will never again, curse the ground for
- 43:13man's sake. Although the imagination of
- 43:15man's heart is evil from his youth, nor will I, again destroy
- 43:19every living thing. I as I have done while the Earth
- 43:22remains seedtime, Time and harvest, cold and heat, winter
- 43:26and summer. And the day and night shall not
- 43:29cease, and I love know his attitude.
- 43:32Here he comes and he worships he's not going to play, he's not
- 43:37going to build, he's not going to rest like build a house for
- 43:39himself. First thing he does is worship
- 43:42and I know sometimes we use the word worship and we it has a
- 43:46very narrow definition as if it was only the music before a
- 43:50Bible study. And that's only a portion of it
- 43:54when you and I worship, we present ourselves to him and
- 43:58bear all before him. Some of you pray today in
- 44:01worship, some of you repented today in worship, some of you
- 44:07gave in worship some of you your tongue, if you will and walk and
- 44:12surrendered and submit it to the spirit in worship.
- 44:15And of course, some of us sang In Worship.
- 44:18Some of you made a decision to follow Christ and worship.
- 44:21Just Surrender an area of your life while you're listening to
- 44:24Bible study or worshipping while you're praying, you're
- 44:27worshipping in worship, we find ourselves in the very presence
- 44:31of God. Receiving and being reminded of
- 44:35the very Promises of God resting in his protection and, you know,
- 44:39Jesus Delights in our worship. He notices not only our lips,
- 44:42but our heart and he just loves it when his children worship
- 44:47really good. Okay, so here I haven't line in
- 44:50my note, I wrote it on purpose, one more thing.
- 44:53If we have time, it's right there.
- 44:57I've got to do this. So I'm going to make time
- 45:00because this is really amazing and that is remember Noah made
- 45:06it to the hall of faith. Remember when we studied
- 45:09Hebrews, he made it to the hall of faith.
- 45:12I want you to consider the elements of faith that he
- 45:16demonstrates, and I'll just give him to you very quickly.
- 45:18In verse 6, Noah in faith, waited patiently for 40 days.
- 45:23After seeing the mountain tops before sending the Raven out to
- 45:27search for dry. Land in verse 8, Noah in faith
- 45:32patiently, waited, seven more days before sending a dove out
- 45:35to search for dry land in verse 10.
- 45:38No. And fade patiently, waited
- 45:40another seven more days before sending out the dove again verse
- 45:4412. Noah in faith patiently, waited,
- 45:46seven more days before sending The Devout again verse 13, Noah
- 45:52in faith. Patiently waited, Twenty nine
- 45:56more days before removing the covering of the Ark.
- 46:00And then finally, in verse 14, Noah and Faith patiently
- 46:03patiently, waited another fifty seven, more days until the Earth
- 46:07was completely dry. No has great faith and patience
- 46:12and God is unquestionable. He lived a life trusting and
- 46:16patiently waiting for God and it just spoke to me.
- 46:19Again, I wanted to develop this but I'm not going to maybe you
- 46:21can develop it in your prayer time.
- 46:24But we ask the question. How did God how did Noah find
- 46:28Grace in the eyes of the Lord? I think a part of the answer.
- 46:32Is he learned how to patiently? Wait on the Lord.
- 46:37That patiently waiting is actually a place of finding the
- 46:42grace of God, the psalmist understood it in Psalm 27 verse
- 46:4514. Wait on the Lord be of good
