- 0:18Allah, Allah. Sometimes I.
- 0:25Just. How the hell are we here?
- 1:00Good to go. Welcome back to The Aftermarket,
- 1:05a podcast. If it's your first time, please
- 1:07subscribe. We're trying to get to 8 million
- 1:09subscribers. We can't do that with Take 17.
- 1:15Salaam Ali coming up with the live Lokata.
- 1:16Welcome back to the Aftermarket of Podcast.
- 1:18Friends and sisters. Hope you're doing well.
- 1:20If you've been tuning in over the last two weeks, you will
- 1:22know that we have been talking about the ongoing situation in
- 1:25Gaza and in Lebanon. And today we want to continue
- 1:28this conversation but also branch out into other
- 1:31conversations. We typically don't talk about
- 1:33geopolitics on a week to week basis, but of course we are a
- 1:36Muslim podcast, specifically a Shia Muslim team.
- 1:40And because of that, we look at all the issues affecting the
- 1:42Muslim Omar. And this is a time more than
- 1:45ever really, where we need to come together and support our
- 1:48brothers and sisters in need. So if you are listening now and
- 1:52you don't know already, we are doing a fundraiser in
- 1:54collaboration with the Zahara Trust to support people,
- 1:58particularly in Lebanon, those who have unfortunately been
- 2:01displaced for their from their homes. 20% of the Lebanese
- 2:04population has had to be displaced and are now political
- 2:09refugees and are seeking shelter.
- 2:12Humanitarian aid, medicine, basic essentials.
- 2:16And that's really why we are partnering with the Zahara Trust
- 2:19to try and help them. Hopefully by the time you're
- 2:22watching this, we have nearly hit our goal if not already.
- 2:24But we need you to go to our Instagram page, click the link
- 2:27in the bio or and show love you're watching on YouTube.
- 2:30We will also put the link in the description low.
- 2:34But of course, friend, sisters, over the last week we've also
- 2:36seen a one year anniversary since the beginning of the
- 2:39genocide in Gaza. Of course, October the 7th took
- 2:42place on Monday this week. And now of course by the time
- 2:45this is coming out on Thursday, you would have had time to
- 2:48reflect on the last year and really what sort of atrocities
- 2:52we have been seeing, the astonishing human rights abuses
- 2:55that have been taking place and unfortunately the direct effect
- 2:57it's had on millions and millions of people both living
- 3:01in the Middle East and worldwide.
- 3:03So let's get into today's conversation.
- 3:04There's a lot to talk about, and also we're going to kind of see
- 3:07where the conversation goes, as always in Ali Salaam.
- 3:19Alaikum Salaam, how's it going, Hamdullah?
- 3:24So long as the heart is beating, the lungs are breathing, I
- 3:27can't, I can't complain. And I know everything you
- 3:30mentioned in your intro. And I just want to mention, by
- 3:32the way, that they can donate so easily to this 'cause that we're
- 3:35doing, in sha Allah, raising funds to help those displaced in
- 3:38Lubnan via the Zahara Trust. The link is at the bottom.
- 3:41Yeah, either you can find the link in our Instagram bio or you
- 3:45can, you know, Scroll down this YouTube if you're watching this
- 3:47on YouTube and hit that button and shall not make that
- 3:49intention contributes. And you know what said, so we
- 3:52have been seeing obviously in Lebanon over the last three or
- 3:54four weeks, particularly the number of apartment buildings
- 3:57have that have been blown up, that have been targeted and
- 4:01bombed by the Zionist entity. And it's, it's, it's amazing
- 4:06actually, because the Zaadar Trust has actually procured 2
- 4:09vacant apartment blocks to, to house these people.
- 4:13So we're talking about hundreds, if not thousands of people who
- 4:17are now in a safe. And that's the key thing, a safe
- 4:21and secure place. And they're with people who will
- 4:23help them. They're people who deliver aid
- 4:25and look, you and I both have like experience when it comes to
- 4:29delivery and logistics and that sort of thing.
- 4:31Right now, importing into Lebanon is impossible.
- 4:34There's no shit that's going into Lebanon and people can't
- 4:38import locally or sorry, can't import worldwide.
- 4:41And procuring things locally is impossible as well.
- 4:43Sky rotting, sky rocketing rates of inflation locally.
- 4:46So even getting absolute basics is really difficult.
- 4:49That's why they need things like diapers and formula for babies.
- 4:53They need incontinence pads and bed sheets, they need all sorts
- 4:57of different basics which we take for granted here.
- 4:59To be honest, in a lot of cases we don't really need them here,
- 5:02but people there are in desperate need.
- 5:04So really, really need you guys to step up inshallah.
- 5:08Inshallah, and I know they will. Don't let us down.
- 5:10Don't let the Imam of your time down.
- 5:12You know he's watching, he's looking.
- 5:13And also a lost final metallah will reward you in the
- 5:16hereafter. Ahmed, have you donated?
- 5:18Personally? I have.
- 5:19Well, I have, yes. I've pulled together with a with
- 5:22a few members of my family. Amazing.
- 5:24We've all. Put something forward,
- 5:26Hamdullah. But I'm also talking because I
- 5:29know there's a lot of friends of mine at home and driving in the
- 5:32car right now on their way to work and listening.
- 5:34So I'm counting on you guys and those who know us and those who
- 5:36don't, please, inshallah. So I want to ask you, listen,
- 5:41we've we've had now a year of this genocide taking place, OK?
- 5:47When you look back on it, this things like it's just crazy,
- 5:51bro. There's so many things that have
- 5:52taken place in the last year. We've seen story after story
- 5:55after story developments. We've seen the ICJ case that's
- 5:58presented by South Africa. We've seen Benjamin Netanyahu
- 6:02and the US Congress have a standing ovation.
- 6:04We've seen stories of people on the ground who have lost their
- 6:07lives. We mentioned last week the
- 6:09stories of the the young girls, Hen and Rheim, and all of these
- 6:13stories that just kind of taken us by storm.
- 6:17The bombing of Rafa after we were told that Rafa is a safe
- 6:20zone and can't be touched. And we are.
- 6:22In terms of Gaza, a lot has happened over a year and it
- 6:25feels like it's been an exhausting year.
- 6:27We've seen court cases in the UK over political demonstrations
- 6:30and resistance marches, which we're seeing here.
- 6:32And it just feels exhausting. But I guess there's like so many
- 6:38angles you wouldn't even know where to begin.
- 6:39How, how do you kind of look back on it?
- 6:43You know, if I were to reflect on the last year, there's so
- 6:48much things I think to mention. I think one thing in particular
- 6:51for me on a personal level, Ahmed, if I'm real, is actually
- 6:56enforcing my belief in God. Ask me why?
- 7:00Because I've seen like, like no one on this in this world
- 7:03currently with with the ongoing genocide that's happening at all
- 7:06now, no one's been held accountable, right?
- 7:10That tells me, bro, there's going to come a day of judgement
- 7:12where Allah is going to hold these man one by one, one by
- 7:16one. Ahmed accountable.
- 7:18And there was something very beautiful that a very famous
- 7:23Sunni speaker said the other day that actually touched my heart.
- 7:26He was like, you know, sadly how the residents at the moment,
- 7:32they don't really have peace in their burial, sometimes even
- 7:36like their graves are destroyed. And yeah, so he was like, can
- 7:40you just imagine the the Gaza Strip in gender, like all these
- 7:47Shuhada that have been killed, right?
- 7:50Unjustly, unfairly and via oppression, their houses in
- 7:55gender. And if we're worried, he was
- 7:56like, the whole world is looking at that.
- 7:58That's the strip, which is a very small strip, by the way,
- 8:01whether you look at it by its width or its length.
- 8:03But in general, how, how 10 * 50 times the size in sha Allah,
- 8:07where it will house these people will be housed by a loss of Hana
- 8:10Wata Allah and his paradise at sha Allah.
- 8:12But back to my point on in terms of belief is like genuinely, I,
- 8:16it makes me think like if these people won't be held accountable
- 8:21in this dunya and Hamdallah that there is Hassab Wakhtab on the
- 8:25day of judgement. You know, that day where people
- 8:28will beg for forgiveness, where people, you know, they say on on
- 8:33on a day like that is when people will say, you know, give
- 8:36me some of your deeds just to improve, You know, where I stand
- 8:39in front of the last panel. But no one's going to share.
- 8:42No one's going to, you know, give up their all their good
- 8:44rewards because everyone wants a place in general and everyone
- 8:47wants that day to be easy on them.
- 8:49And I can't wait for that day that I can actually see Insha
- 8:51Allah, may Allah forgive my sense first, but see these
- 8:55people actually being held to account.
- 8:57From Netanyahu to Saddam to Yazid, all of them 1 by 1,
- 9:00nothing. The entire Muslim Ummah, the
- 9:04horse, will be at peace. Do you know what there's like?
- 9:06I think you're right about the effect it's had on the Dean.
- 9:08Yeah. And on my, my own Iman as well,
- 9:11my Sora of the week right now sort of Hashar and there's an
- 9:16iron sort of Hashar, which is so it's amazing how Subhanallah,
- 9:20our last Subhanallah island makes the Holyoke Island in such
- 9:23a way where it is specific to a particular time and place, but
- 9:26at the same time, it's eternal in its usage and its relevance.
- 9:30Do you see what I mean? So you could be in across the
- 9:33course of civilizations, there must have been so many conflicts
- 9:35where you had a superior, one may call superior authoritarian,
- 9:42whatever you may call entity. And then perhaps a lower
- 9:46oppressed people and those who feel like they have been
- 9:48marginalized and otherwise. And in today's day and age, the
- 9:52the example of that is the marginalization of the people of
- 9:55Gaza and Lebanon. And alas, Pantala says is sort
- 9:58of Hashem in chapter #59 verse #14 very specifically, even
- 10:05united. Alas, talking about the
- 10:07disbelievers in this, in this sentence, in this ire, even
- 10:11united, they would not dare to fight you except from within
- 10:15their strongholds and from behind walls.
- 10:18Their malice for each other is intense.
- 10:20You think they're united, yet their hearts are divided.
- 10:23That is because there are people with no real understanding.
- 10:28They are both just like those who recently went down before
- 10:30them. They tasted the evil
- 10:32consequences of their doings and they will suffer a painful
- 10:35punishment. Alas, talking about the
- 10:37unification of the enemies of Allah, those who unify in their
- 10:43hatred towards Dohid and towards the Mahmudin and those who
- 10:48aligned with the party of Shahid Khan and not with the party of
- 10:51Alas, Pano Ta'ala. And a lot specifically talking,
- 10:55I think to people like us in this situation where you see a
- 10:58coalition of forces who are in many ways first world countries
- 11:02and who are technologically advanced and who have the
- 11:04backing of each other with billions and trillions of
- 11:06dollars. And excuse me.
- 11:08And you may think that they are unified in their course, that
- 11:12you may think that they are strong behind their walls a lot
- 11:14saying they are not strong behind their walls and they are
- 11:17unified in their evil. But the disunity enters their
- 11:20hearts and they have hatred towards one another.
- 11:22We just need to see now, without getting too political, the
- 11:25relationship between the US and Israel in this current point in
- 11:28time. When you look at the build up to
- 11:30the US election, how Joe Biden has spoken in the last week's
- 11:33press conference in regards to his relationship with Israel and
- 11:36in terms of what? You mentioned is nice is this
- 11:39doesn't necessarily just apply to now you can imagine Muslims
- 11:42in say the Ottoman Empire or the Persian Empire during the
- 11:45Romans. These Ayers would have been in
- 11:48their that's why at the same time.
- 11:50Like in every in every period of history.
- 11:52So we could think OK, this cases like this, wow this link
- 11:55specifically with the genocide happening now, but it would have
- 11:59applied 100% and again and again over time.
- 12:02But isn't that mad? Isn't that just absolutely like
- 12:05amazing? And that last part of that I was
- 12:08talking about something that sounds so specific but has
- 12:12probably been applied to so many cases.
- 12:14I love how you mentioned them being divided because you know
- 12:17how everyone talks about the United States of America should
- 12:21be changed to the divided States of America.
- 12:25And that's true. And we see how divided they are.
- 12:27And, you know, one thing, I think another thing that comes
- 12:31to my attention when I think about reflecting on the last
- 12:34year of the events that have taken place.
- 12:37I mean, there's so much things that's happened in the last
- 12:38year, but the core 1 is this genocide, which is the
- 12:42hypocrisy. Yeah.
- 12:45And I, and I say hypocrisy not just in terms of what they say,
- 12:48but in terms of what they represent.
- 12:49And the USA here is saying, you know, we represent the world's
- 12:53best democracy, mate, when you're 7080% of your citizens
- 12:59are calling for a ceasefire at least, which is the very
- 13:02minimum. And you do quite the opposite.
- 13:04You fund the genocide far away from any ceasefire.
- 13:07Like are you truly representing democracy?
- 13:10And it proves democracy? I think it's just no, because
- 13:12it's something that suits a bunch of thugs and suits.
- 13:15And it's it's the US and many other Western governments have
- 13:19been repeatedly studied and kind of hypothesized to be considered
- 13:24oligarchies and not democracies. As we are the free world.
- 13:27Yeah, bro. And, and look like, if you think
- 13:29about it as well, the West has had over a course of decades, if
- 13:34not centuries, this divide and conquer mechanism and this
- 13:37tactic. And it's in such a way to
- 13:41disunite the Muslims from one another, to disunite
- 13:43communities, to disunite Sunni and Shia and, and, and, and
- 13:47neighbours from one another. And unfortunately, you can see
- 13:51that the repercussions of those who believe this narrative
- 13:55taking place here in the West as well as obviously in the Middle
- 13:57East. So in the last few months, of
- 13:59course we've had the genocide in Gaza, voodoo.
- 14:01We've also had for example, what we've had ban on hijab in
- 14:05universities in France. We've had rights in the UK,
- 14:08we've had anti Islamic gun crime in the US.
- 14:13All of these point back to the dehumanisation of a population
- 14:17by using the word and the term Muslim and Islam, excuse me,
- 14:22Islam has now become unfortunately, a label which
- 14:26society has pinned on people to say that these people are
- 14:31slightly different, they look slightly different, they act
- 14:33slightly different. And we've seen, for example, in
- 14:35UK politics, you know, again, we don't want to get too political,
- 14:39but like in the Conservative Party leadership race right now,
- 14:42of the four candidates who are still in the race, one of them,
- 14:46who's a black young daughter of an immigrant here in the UK is
- 14:51demonizing Muslims and basically saying they're different to us.
- 14:56Now, let me ask you, because you come from, for example, an
- 14:58African community where in some or if not most African cultures,
- 15:02women cover their hair, men answer the door when men
- 15:05approach. But then you point out something
- 15:07like that as the cause of why Muslims may be considered
- 15:10backwards in your eyes. Is that what it is?
- 15:13We're in the same societies where we have Hollywood, where
- 15:15we have sexual abuse cases, where we have harassment cases
- 15:18in workplaces. 2 people a day die of domestic violence in the
- 15:22UK, two women a day. Are you telling me that this is
- 15:25a first world, secularized, civilized first world society
- 15:29that respects women and Islam, which preserves hijab, which
- 15:33preserves the right of a woman when it comes to inheritance,
- 15:36when it comes to proposing for marriage, when it comes to.
- 15:42Brother, the right of divorce. The right of divorce, all of
- 15:46these rights that women have in Islam, which Al Hamdullah has
- 15:49Abolab abused. Them, by the way, they were.
- 15:51The first phase and you talk about Muslim countries in the
- 15:53world where there are Muslim countries where women have
- 15:55higher literacy rates, graduation rates than for
- 15:58example, the US. As example, you have more
- 16:00chemical engineers in Iran than you have in the US who are
- 16:03female. And these are, you know, it all
- 16:06goes back to this, the root cause of if you can divide them,
- 16:10then ultimately the dumb Muslims will go with the flow.
- 16:14They'll take the dollars and they'll take they'll fall for
- 16:17the narrative and fall for the lies, and they'll go with the
- 16:19flow and the dumb non-Muslims also go with the flow.
- 16:24In reality, they will believe tabloid media.
- 16:26They'll believe sensationalist speeches by the likes of Trump
- 16:29and whatnot. Do you know what I mean?
- 16:31So this polarization like this far left and far right, which
- 16:34we're seeing in the world today is only becoming more so you.
- 16:36Know you mentioned something very interesting.
- 16:38You said, you know, Muslims can believe the media, yeah, when
- 16:42it's against, when it's against them, ultimately us, right.
- 16:45And that actually proves a point I like every time like
- 16:48Hamdullah, we came back not too long ago from Karbala.
- 16:51We went to Ziara, right, for that Hamdullah, for that
- 16:54opportunity and Shallah year in Yera, we have that opportunity
- 16:57in Shallah to go for Ziara of Imam Hussain on his 40th, the
- 17:00Urbain. But many people choose not to
- 17:03go. They earn to go, but they don't
- 17:05want to go. Why?
- 17:05Because they look at the news outlets and they see, for
- 17:09example, the amount of fear that's in.
- 17:11That's just, you know, being spoken about certain parts of
- 17:16the world, mainly the Muslim world, where it's a dangerous
- 17:19place to go, where it's a place where there is no rights, there
- 17:23is no respect, you know, and what's funny during the whole
- 17:27experience this year is that we met a number of Western
- 17:30individuals, right? And they all had something very
- 17:34similar. They all said something very
- 17:35common where they didn't expect Iraq, for example, this Muslim
- 17:40country to be the way it was. The the positivity that they had
- 17:44during their visit was something completely different to what
- 17:47they've been told from back home, right?
- 17:50And I mentioned something very interesting to one of the
- 17:52brothers. And I was like, you know how
- 17:55there's always this fear of, you know, people are forcing hijab
- 18:00on women and, you know, women are like second class citizens
- 18:04and things like that. I was like in the Middle East
- 18:07brought is the other way around. You know, in the West is like we
- 18:11sort of sexualize and make women objects 100% right?
- 18:16Whereas over there we protect them.
- 18:18There is this thing where a lady can, for example, walk, know
- 18:22that she will be safer in Iraq than to walk in the streets of
- 18:26central London past midnight, for example, right?
- 18:30Why? Why go and tell me why?
- 18:31Because we, we, we have this thing like I think on 2 levels.
- 18:34Number one, I think our last panel at Allah has instilled and
- 18:37every human being from the day they're born, this, this, this
- 18:41notion of era right now as Muslims, Al Hamdullah, we
- 18:46emphasize on this a lot and we're nurtured on this and is
- 18:49God-given to us as men, right? And the Western world, this is
- 18:53taught as a bad thing, you know, let them do what they want.
- 18:57Let them. I don't want to, I don't want to
- 18:59change the, the, the subject completely.
- 19:01But you know, there's also certain things that remove this
- 19:03era from an individual, like Islamically, we know for
- 19:05example, one of them is Haram food.
- 19:07When you eat Haram food, it decreases your, your era levels
- 19:11as a man, right. So I was telling him basically,
- 19:14you know, if we want to like judge one of the most discussed
- 19:18points in the Western world against our regions, our Muslim
- 19:23lands, is that women are like treated like classes as where as
- 19:28let's just let's just look at here, let's just compare it with
- 19:30the Uki remember there was. Look at how there was a.
- 19:32Statistic the other day in terms of sexual assault on women in
- 19:35the UK is the highest in Europe. I wouldn't be surprised.
- 19:38Look at how a Muslim man treats his mother or a Muslim father
- 19:42treats his daughter. And look at in this society, how
- 19:45kids swear at their mothers, how kids swear at their mothers, how
- 19:49in public they, they, they, you know, are drinking alcohol and
- 19:53smoking with their mothers. And Subhan Allah, you said
- 19:54something to me right now and I had a memory back to secondary
- 19:59school year 7 or year eight. I remember those time I had like
- 20:02a phone. We can call our parents after
- 20:04school, you know, play snake. That was it was Nokia 32 tens,
- 20:07whatever they were. I forgot the model numbers but I
- 20:10remember there was also I had like white friends like when
- 20:13they chat to their parents they'll call their parent by
- 20:15their name. No way.
- 20:17Yeah, man, it's like like if, if their dad, if their dad is
- 20:20called like David, like he doesn't say father or dad crazy.
- 20:23He goes David. I'm sure that's crazy, but
- 20:25that's one level of respect abolished.
- 20:27Like it doesn't exist at the same time that they would use
- 20:30like language that you don't even use it with your friends
- 20:33and you talk like that with your parents.
- 20:34That's disgusting. And unfortunately it kind of
- 20:36effects Muslim youth in the UK and in the US and across the
- 20:39Western world. Yeah, when you when you allow
- 20:42yourself as teenagers or whatever to be surrounded by
- 20:45that and you don't pin it down. Do you know what I mean?
- 20:48And also, bro, just like coming back to it, the way people treat
- 20:52their mothers here, who you could be raised, born and raised
- 20:56in a Western society, but be born into a Muslim household.
- 20:59The way you respect your mother and your grandmother and your
- 21:02aunts and your sisters. And when you move out or you get
- 21:05married, you're the love you show for your wife.
- 21:08You know the sweetness in which you speak to your wife.
- 21:10Inshallah, we hope so. The the praise in which you give
- 21:13your wife should the way she goes out of her way for you,
- 21:15then you have daughters. The way you protect your
- 21:18daughters. The way you you, you care about
- 21:20how they leave the house. You care about how they present
- 21:23themselves to the world. You want them to focus on
- 21:26building their identity, their, their roar, their intellect,
- 21:29their you want them to go out and define themselves by who
- 21:32they are, what they believe, what they learn, what they
- 21:34teach, rather than how long their hair is and what colour,
- 21:39whether it's curly or straight or you know, how short their
- 21:42skirt is. These are not things which we
- 21:44characterize as definition. We don't characterize a woman by
- 21:48these things. We don't define a woman by these
- 21:50kind of visible and aesthetic qualities.
- 21:54Unfortunately, these are characteristics which we look
- 21:55down. I think, Ahmed, you say very,
- 21:57very good points there. And I think it's something that
- 22:00we can all reflect on and even if we have a non-muslim audience
- 22:03listening right now, I think there's something they can look
- 22:05into and benefit from, Insha'allah.
- 22:08Now I, I want to go back now to the reflections we discussed a
- 22:10bit early on, if you allow me, which is I think there was one
- 22:14other reflection that I think is very critical when it comes to
- 22:18looking back at this entire genocide this unfold, right?
- 22:22And you know, many, many people and I think even people who were
- 22:27never interested in this before have spoken about it now, which
- 22:29is, for example, Muslim unity, right?
- 22:32But for me, it's, it's a level more it's, it's made me realize
- 22:36like the Shia community is so fragmented.
- 22:41It's so broken that no one wants to work with each other, like no
- 22:45one wants to come together. And I thought something,
- 22:48something hit my mind. This was literally, I think
- 22:50after the episode we filmed with Asan Thadri, may Allah bless
- 22:53him, who we had last week air, right?
- 22:56It made me think like, I genuinely believe this.
- 22:58I could be wrong, right? But and maybe I want your
- 23:01opinion on this year. I think one of the reasons why
- 23:05our 12th Imam, Imam Al Mahdi Ajah Allah, the Allah Faraj
- 23:10Sharif is not apparent to us yet because look at the state we're
- 23:16in. We have 1 camp.
- 23:19You know, we don't take fear of the other camp one side, you
- 23:23know, speaking I'll of the other side, Whereas when you come to
- 23:26look at it, bro, we all believe in the same thing.
- 23:29And even if we have different camps, right, I think it's fine.
- 23:32I think there's I think possibly healthy competition is the wrong
- 23:34word to use when it comes to this in terms of faith and
- 23:36human. But what are we doing that's
- 23:40outside the halls of Islam? Like, why are we fighting with
- 23:42each other? Why are we, you know, speaking
- 23:45I'll of one another? Why, why, why do we like, why do
- 23:49we have to be in such a state where we're not really focused
- 23:53on Imam al Mehdi's arrival? We have allies and reappearance
- 23:57and we're not focused on what does this murder just say?
- 24:00What does this scholar say? What did this speaker say?
- 24:03And it made me think, honey, I think as a community, what good
- 24:06we love to work with one another.
- 24:07But I think it's the hierarchy, it's it's, it's those, I think a
- 24:12level or two, perhaps 5 above us.
- 24:14I wouldn't say our Alama. May Allah protect and respect
- 24:17them. I think sometimes the speakers
- 24:19and I love a lot of them, right. But I think at times they're
- 24:23part of the problem. Ahmed.
- 24:24Well, I don't think they do good in terms of uniting our Shia.
- 24:27Can I disagree with you because. Of course it's an opinion.
- 24:31I think as whether it's as Muslims, as Shias, as Arabs, we,
- 24:36we inherently know that we don't agree with one another.
- 24:40Like as a Shia, I, I know I disagree with a Sunni.
- 24:43A Sunni might see me as a kafir, I see him as a kafir, whatever,
- 24:46it doesn't matter. And we, we, we know that we can
- 24:49coexist, but it's the ones who are higher up who are using that
- 24:52to divide and conquer and. Are we talking about Shia Shia
- 24:55unity or Sunni Shia? Not as in our our.
- 24:58Speakers, for example, telling us, for example, this group is
- 25:04this group is wrong is that they're teaching us our our
- 25:10hokum our what we believe in. They're teaching us our beliefs
- 25:13OK. And we we we can still know that
- 25:17and live and exist with with them are.
- 25:20We talking about Sunnis. Shia as a Sunnis for example.
- 25:23So let's talk about Shia. Shia.
- 25:24I'm talking about Shia. Shia.
- 25:25So let's. Yeah, but I'm saying that whole
- 25:27thing exists throughout SO. Even across Shia, I'll show you.
- 25:31Yeah, fair enough. So you say it's fine.
- 25:34Yeah, as in as in maybe. Maybe.
- 25:36Are you saying it's fine? No, I'm saying even even if you
- 25:40disagree. For example, there's another
- 25:41merger that says doing X is wrong that makes me wrong.
- 25:44As long as we're not doing take fear of fighting with each
- 25:46other, that's something else. No, but it's fine.
- 25:49It's not fine bro. Like if I if I believe a certain
- 25:52merger says something, say a merger comes out and says XA
- 25:56Hobby was a good person. Like Khalid bin Walid, for
- 25:59example. Yeah, yeah.
- 26:03That's one of the. It's like, OK, let him think
- 26:04that, but I'm not going to go out my way to now take feel can.
- 26:08Counter that argument, I can tell you I disagree with him.
- 26:11We can counter the argument, but we can't call him a Carter.
- 26:13We can't start fighting with him and brushing them all in terms
- 26:16of Hellfire. That's wrong.
- 26:19Because that's what causes the disunity.
- 26:21I was speaking on TikTok for the first and only time.
- 26:24Oh my dears, you went live. You went live.
- 26:28I went live for the first time. Did I not tell you the story?
- 26:30I can't. Remember, go on.
- 26:32Basically a month ago or so, I was on TikTok for the fact once
- 26:38in a month I get bored or like once every two months and I just
- 26:41want to check out if we're posting all our reels.
- 26:43So I go on TikTok. So I'll go check it out.
- 26:45And I saw this Instagram Live and you know, there's always
- 26:48this Sunny Shia dialogue on Instagram Live.
- 26:52There were three brothers. No, there were two brothers in
- 26:54the room. Actually there were three.
- 26:56I'm just going to summarize it. One of them was tough Lily Batri
- 27:01as in his own words self kind of prescribed.
- 27:05He believes in the legitimate in, in his words, the legitimate
- 27:09khilafah of the first 3 caliphs. But he also believes in the 12
- 27:12imams as spiritual leaders but not as divinely appointed IMA on
- 27:17on earth. It's a bit confusing.
- 27:20Whatever, that's his conversation for another day.
- 27:22Then there was a guy who calls himself a Salafi.
- 27:25They were talking about the Shia, right?
- 27:27So the Salafi brother said I do takfir on all Shia because they
- 27:36reject Abu Baker. So I was like, OK.
- 27:40I reject them and what? So he basically said, what do
- 27:44you say? What you say I?
- 27:45Said I reject them and what? Yeah.
- 27:47I mean, so he goes that the grounds for me doing takfir is
- 27:50rejection of him. Yeah, so I was like, that's a
- 27:53bit crazy because then you're doing takfir on something based
- 27:56on something that's not a Sulidin or Farruddin for Sonia,
- 28:00Shia like for especially if I Shia like it's not part of our
- 28:03Sulidin to believe in any of the sahaba, for example, as you
- 28:08know, to have a, a good or a bad opinion of them.
- 28:12So I was like, I need to correct this guy.
- 28:14So I jumped on the life and I was like, brother, with the
- 28:16greatest respect. Firstly, if I politically
- 28:19disagree with the right of of a so-called sahaba to have a
- 28:23position of authority, that's that's a political decision that
- 28:27I disagree with. For example, someone's been put
- 28:29in a certain position. That's the decision I've made
- 28:33after conclusiveness and academic research and studying
- 28:36hadith and studying XY and Z. That's not something you can do
- 28:40to feel on I said unless you're disputing Lailah and for
- 28:44example, you are rejecting core tenets of Islam.
- 28:48Long story short, the other brother agreed with me and then
- 28:52this guy agreed with me. Then I said to him, I was like,
- 28:54would you apply the same logic to Ali?
- 28:57So if someone hates a Mama Ali, Ali Salaam, would you do take
- 28:59feel on them? He's like, yeah, yeah, of
- 29:00course, Yeah, yeah, of course. Anyone who disrespects, this was
- 29:05the keyword to use. Anyone who disrespects Emir or
- 29:07Montminin, they're kafir. What about Mahalia?
- 29:11I asked him. He's like, Nah, Nah, I'm not
- 29:13bro. Like, let's step back a bit.
- 29:15It's like Nah, Mahalia never disrespected Ali sounds like
- 29:18what do you think? Flipping Safin Like what are the
- 29:22what they do Safin bro, they go go crying or something say
- 29:25people come on bro. Goose.
- 29:28Honestly, what do you think they're doing in Sifin?
- 29:31Putting spirits at each other? Put hands on the Spirit.
- 29:33This is why I said like when you when you referenced, you were
- 29:36paraphrasing what the brother was saying when he was like he
- 29:38does take fear on anyone who rejects the Babakar.
- 29:40I said I reject the Babakar because I.
- 29:41Don't think he said like as this is, this is the the call.
- 29:44Frankly, Guided Caliph, right? Yeah, yeah, you don't.
- 29:47You don't have to. It's not.
- 29:48No. Listen, Salah Muhammad, Salah
- 29:51Ali Ali Ali Ali Ali never came and said to be a Muslim, you
- 29:56have to follow these people after me except for one group,
- 30:01right? And we know who that one group
- 30:02are, the Halle Beta Label Slam. He never said that about a
- 30:05certain group, other group, a group who he was not related to
- 30:09by blood, a group who he did not give certain privileges that he
- 30:12gave the Halle Beta Label slam. And a group that did not in any
- 30:16stage of their life, even in their past life, even 20-30
- 30:19years prior, they never sided against the Prophet Mohammed.
- 30:25So they never sided with the kafar.
- 30:27They never sided in battle against the Holy Prophet.
- 30:30We are talking now about certain sahaba who, for example, certain
- 30:34Muslims will say he was the greatest war in the history of
- 30:36Islam. Like we're talking about Muslims
- 30:38who in certain battles sided against the Holy Prophet.
- 30:41Okay, these these people are now called safe Allah, for example.
- 30:45Do you know what I mean? But you know, in earlier times
- 30:48of their lives, they were putting that safe at the solar
- 30:51law. Do you get on saying laws like
- 30:53these guys are are baffled, You know, I'm saying so there's not
- 30:56a condition to believe in the in the to believe in certain people
- 31:01in order to be Muslims. So that's the key point.
- 31:03Yeah. I'm just going to clarify one or
- 31:05two more points because there are people who say to me, oh,
- 31:07you guys are best sectarian on the podcast.
- 31:09Hello, brother. Relax, relax.
- 31:11Sectarian. Yeah, yeah, people say it to me.
- 31:12Relax. First things first, we.
- 31:14Are telling you were sectarian? Yeah, friends of ours.
- 31:17But listen, we are lovely. We are.
- 31:18No, no, like, I get it. I get it.
- 31:20Yeah, like he's saying, don't talk about things which
- 31:23instigate our brothers at the Sonorajimar.
- 31:26Let's let's. Let's let's cancel Fatimiya next
- 31:28week. Let's.
- 31:30Let's, let's see, we respect our brothers at the Sonorajimar, if
- 31:33they respect us, OK, Because we believe in respectfulness, OK,
- 31:38We show our clock. We see anyone on the street,
- 31:40they're not Muslim. We show our clock and we believe
- 31:42in that. Secondly, does it mean that we
- 31:45suddenly conceal our beliefs? Unless of course, there's a
- 31:49very, very, very there's like special case for that, but we're
- 31:53not in that case. OK, Thirdly, you know, we can
- 31:58have dialogue about conversations which are openly
- 32:01shit are without being offensive.
- 32:05I strongly believe that. And I know we have Sunni
- 32:06listeners and I love our Sunni listeners and all the shout out
- 32:09brother Kashif, who always, I don't know if you've seen.
- 32:11He's a top G. Yeah, I'm always chatting to
- 32:13someone DMS after. He's one of my favorite
- 32:15listeners. He's always Dming us with.
- 32:17He's the listener of the show, so shout out to you.
- 32:19So I just want to make that abundantly clear, because we
- 32:23believe in unity. This I speak for myself, OK?
- 32:28We believe in unity in the Ummah.
- 32:30So you need to change it to I believe in.
- 32:32Unity. Yeah, I believe in unity in the
- 32:33ummah. I do believe in unity.
- 32:35But how you define unity as a Western term and whatnot, it's a
- 32:38very broad thing, because I don't believe in uniting with
- 32:41Wahhabis. This is the tricky thing, right?
- 32:42You know. What I'm saying, the guys who
- 32:43want to, the guys who want to raise Johnson, Bucky to the
- 32:45ground, Karbala to the ground, why the hell would I want to,
- 32:48you know, with them? And is good that you raise this
- 32:50right now, because I was going to say who doesn't believe in
- 32:52unity right? Like which saying I think human
- 32:55with morals and principles and mannerism of the end of the day
- 32:59of the Lasati of Salaam does want to break bread with a
- 33:01fellow Muslim, right. But our problem and I think we
- 33:04have to be real about Ahmed our problem.
- 33:05We I don't think any of us have an issue with Sunnis.
- 33:07I think this is this is something that has to be clear.
- 33:09Like even though the Shia saying we're sectarian bro, I think we
- 33:12should be comfortable discussing our beliefs, whatever they are,
- 33:15right? Same thing goes to the other
- 33:17side. They have something they believe
- 33:18and they can discuss in our problem.
- 33:20And Inshallah we can, you know, find out at the end of the day,
- 33:23on the day of judgement, inshallah, who's on the path.
- 33:25But ultimately a Shia, we don't have an issue with Sunnis.
- 33:30Our problem, and I think we have to be clear about it.
- 33:37Our problem is those who took fear with us.
- 33:42I have never been told by a Shiite that a Sunni is a Qatar.
- 33:45And my entire life, my entire life, no one has told me.
- 33:50Not my father nor my mother nor my Arabic politician.
- 33:52No one has ever told me a fellow Sunni is a Catholic.
- 33:56It's always come towards us. So I'm not blaming them.
- 34:00But I think, I think something that really changed, if I
- 34:04reflect back onto Reza, is that allowed?
- 34:06I think Muslims who are Sunni Muslims, and when I say Sunni
- 34:11Muslims, I'm not sharing about your Salafis and Medkalis and
- 34:14Marsh. You know, I'm talking about
- 34:16those who follow the students of Imam Jafar Assad, Kalihi Salaam,
- 34:20you know, the Hanafi, the Shafi, the Maliki.
- 34:22I think those people, the majority of them have
- 34:25understood, number one, that we don't have those beliefs.
- 34:30Our speakers who speak on our behalf have been telling us this
- 34:33right. You mean in terms of moderate
- 34:35beliefs, not in terms of schools of yeah, yeah.
- 34:37Yeah, yeah. That, for example, like the
- 34:40people I used to be in school with, like when I was in
- 34:42secondary school, I had so much Sunni friends.
- 34:45Of course, I had so much. It was like a majority Muslim
- 34:47school. Yeah, Yeah.
- 34:48And I had so much Sunni friends. And half the time they'll debate
- 34:51me that macafa, I'm not praying on cookies and XY is there, the
- 34:55usual stuff, things like that. Right.
- 34:56But then I realized that they don't truly believe this Ahmed.
- 35:00Yeah, it's just to wind each other up.
- 35:01No, no, no. It's not just that.
- 35:02It's they've been told this. Yes, yeah.
- 35:05Yeah, you understand. But whether they're told or
- 35:07whether they. Believe it changed everything.
- 35:09Yeah, I'm not joking, because now you have a lot Al
- 35:12Hamdulillah Sunni. Allah has, I think, allowed the
- 35:16hearts of many of our Sunni Muslim brothers to open up
- 35:20towards the Shia right. Probably to be honest, I think
- 35:23it's the same reverse as well. Because now as Shia Muslims, you
- 35:28know, look, if you look in the last like 1520 years, yeah, a
- 35:31lot of the conflict which has been happening at least in, in
- 35:33the, in the last 1520 years has directly affected a lot of Shia.
- 35:38So we see a lot of Shia in Yemen, for example, who have
- 35:40been targeted. We see Shia in Syria, of course,
- 35:43who of that's kind of a separate conversation.
- 35:45We talked about a lot last week. But of course the Shia and Syria
- 35:47were involved in, in, in conflict.
- 35:49The Shia of Iraq were directly targeted.
- 35:51Shia and Pakistan are targeted. We were talking about Shia of
- 35:55Lebanon in 2006, but the point being is like now we are
- 35:59standing firm, very much so with overwhelmingly majority Sunni
- 36:06population and not just that, a population which does have
- 36:10mercibys residing within it. There are people who hate us as
- 36:15Shias who live in Gaza. We don't dispute that, that
- 36:17people think oh but they were, some of them are pro Sudan.
- 36:22OK, all right, So what? Like, do you know what I mean?
- 36:26Humanity goes beyond your political allegiances.
- 36:29I do think, I do think that their beliefs, some of their
- 36:34beliefs are wrong. But I also know that there are
- 36:36people in Gaza who are doing Wilada Tamil and Mahmudin who
- 36:42are doing celebration or who are, for example, saying
- 36:45Kuluyama Ashura Kuluya than Karbala.
- 36:47And we see this, we've actually seen it spray painted on the
- 36:51wall the the apartheid wall in Gaza.
- 36:53Do you know what I mean? Like these are things which pull
- 36:56us together as a community because Sunni and Shia can unite
- 37:00for A cause and that is to stop the blood of innocent children
- 37:02falling on the floor. Do you know what I'm saying?
- 37:04I, I fully understand and I, and maybe I didn't finish my point
- 37:08as well a bit earlier on when it comes to this, yeah, Sunni, Shia
- 37:11Muslim unity thing, right? It's that no one is saying that
- 37:14you can't unite, but I think there has to be a clear
- 37:16distinction between what that unite means.
- 37:19It's like what it looks like. OK, yes, we differ with our
- 37:22beliefs that's we can coexist. Yeah, we agree to disagree.
- 37:26I, I think we can agree to disagree agreeably right on, on
- 37:29many things that's we can't unite with falsehood.
- 37:31And that's why I, I, I, I separated.
- 37:33I said, for example, Metalise and Salafis and things like
- 37:35this, because these are people we cannot unite with this.
- 37:38These are people who our blood is highland for them spilling
- 37:42our blood grants them gender. Of course, this is, this is the
- 37:45people that we don't want to unite with.
- 37:47So this is something very something we have to be clear
- 37:50with. And, and one more point to add.
- 37:52I think when it comes to like Muslim, Muslim unity, like
- 37:56especially now on, I think on a global level, on the, on the
- 38:00political stage, this is something very important.
- 38:04And without it, I, I think there's going to be chaos for
- 38:07every Muslim land. Every Muslim is going to be
- 38:10affected, whether you're a Sunni or Shiite, if you don't
- 38:13politically unite, at least on a political level and defeat this
- 38:17common enemy, which they're going to come for you, Bro.
- 38:19I'm telling you if, if, if they manage to, if they've been doing
- 38:24this for 70 years in Palestine and now they're trying to do it
- 38:27once more again in Lebanon, Bro, have you seen Greater Israel
- 38:31includes Arah, bro, it includes Saudi Arabia.
- 38:38Well, they're coming for your land.
- 38:39And these were ain't going to stop until I think they settle
- 38:41everywhere. They're settled at the end of
- 38:42the day, right? They want to take over the
- 38:44region because. The thing is said like we've
- 38:45we've seen, sorry to to you off board, but we see extremism in
- 38:49every form in every society. So we see extremism here in the
- 38:52UK and we see this like we talked about the important EDL
- 38:56rights that took place, which don't represent and English
- 38:59society was generally speaking is quite not even tolerable, but
- 39:03friendly and easy to be with and easy to work with.
- 39:06And we just look like our colleagues at work and our
- 39:08relationship with these guys. In the same way we see in Sunni
- 39:13society the extremes, the fundamentalists and those who,
- 39:17like you said, our blood is halal for them.
- 39:19We see in the, the Jewish religion, the ethnos,
- 39:23supremacist Zionists who in the same way want to expand and
- 39:28conquer, who see themselves as a superior race, who are more
- 39:31worthy of land and rights and, and, and in essence, excuse me,
- 39:38in essence, see themselves as God's chosen people on earth.
- 39:43How can anyone unite? They've become Punjat a lot.
- 39:46They've become Punjat. How can anyone unite with any
- 39:50people who think that they are superior, a superior race?
- 39:54And when we, when we talk about the destruction of a Zionist
- 39:59entity, we're not talking about the removal or the, the genocide
- 40:04of people. Let's be very clear.
- 40:07Because when South Africa, the apartheid system of South Africa
- 40:10was dismantled, white S Africans weren't removed from the face of
- 40:14the earth. Do you see what I mean?
- 40:16The dismantling of a political system which sees themselves as
- 40:19superior and which sees people as subhuman.
- 40:24It needs to be removed that that that is essential.
- 40:26This dismantling is essential. And the same, of course, like I
- 40:29said, goes for the for the extremist Sunnis.
- 40:33And this brings me on to now when we talk about this year.
- 40:36Before you move on, I think it goes on towards like getting rid
- 40:40of that, that Zionist entity that wants to constantly remove
- 40:45our communities. So like in the past, we've
- 40:48always had where the, the, these have been as in the, the, I
- 40:53don't know what you call them, the revolts against the Muslims
- 40:55have always been funded by these entities.
- 40:58So so where you have like the anti government Iranians funded
- 41:01by Israel or you have like the Myanmar killing of Muslims
- 41:05funded by Israel or the Sudanese rebels or the Syrian rebels,
- 41:09these these are always funded to like divide us and conquer.
- 41:11Us everything goes back to this entity.
- 41:14And listen, you know, it's ironic as well, Yeah.
- 41:16That this group, it's, it's like you said, it's a twisted version
- 41:22of a religion which we believe is Abrahamic and like Khattab
- 41:25do. You know what I mean.
- 41:27Absolutely preserved. Do you know how mad that is?
- 41:30Do you know how mad that is? That, for example, have you
- 41:31heard about the red heifer? Red heifer?
- 41:34What's it called? Red heifer, The cow, The red
- 41:36cow, right? You've read about this and
- 41:37you've read. And in their mind, was it you
- 41:40who mentioned to be said someone else now about the fact that
- 41:44they believe that this is a greater Israel is their right
- 41:48for the coming of their Messiah? Yes, such that they need to
- 41:51conquer these lands in preparation for their Messiah.
- 41:53Now, when we talk about preparation for our Imam, we're
- 41:57talking about being a pure soul. And that's which does not lie.
- 42:00And still we're talking about respecting your parents and
- 42:04doing as much. So do it as you can and do jihad
- 42:06al Akhmat al Asgar. Like we're talking about things
- 42:08which are like, you know, very peaceful and good and halal.
- 42:12And we're not talking about conquering or invading and, and,
- 42:15and, you know, killing children and all of this stuff.
- 42:19Absolute nonsense, honestly. That's proper nonsense, and
- 42:22people don't see it. You know, you mentioned killing
- 42:24children, You know, Subhan Allah today.
- 42:27Today I literally thought, well, I was thinking to myself, Ahmed,
- 42:30I was like, haven't they had enough of children's blood being
- 42:33spilled? Yeah, Yeah.
- 42:35And I mean. It makes no difference.
- 42:38My genuine thoughts here is that when 7th of October started and
- 42:43we all know that's not when it actually started, but let's say
- 42:46that's when I think the the walls hide open to was was truly
- 42:50behind the intentions of Israel, right?
- 42:53Is that I thought at the very beginning, this may last a month
- 42:56or two and it's going to end bro, because they know they've
- 42:59killed so much. I don't think they have a limit.
- 43:03I don't think there's a limit to how much, you know, mutilated
- 43:06bodies that they want to see and achieve and it's scary.
- 43:10It's scary that we've, I think as I don't want to blame us as
- 43:15individuals as the problem. So I think on a, on a political
- 43:19level, I think ultimately it's down to the leaders of the
- 43:21countries to do something about it.
- 43:23But we've sort of allowed it to happen because we were all
- 43:26asleep all these years, right? Like whenever someone told me,
- 43:29for example, ha, did you know this is happening in Palestine?
- 43:32And I said when we had the episode with sister Bertola was
- 43:35like, it didn't bother me, so I didn't care.
- 43:37But if I was passive and I was like part of that problem that I
- 43:40didn't care, it's led to this. If we all cared, right?
- 43:45If we all genuinely cared from the very beginning or understood
- 43:49what is happening in Philistine from the very, very beginning, I
- 43:52don't think it would have reached the stage.
- 43:54Because hypocrisy has become truth.
- 43:58The truth has become lies. And what do we have left?
- 44:02We've got nothing wrong. Like the only people that
- 44:05actually want to help anyone or see any, you know, resolve to
- 44:09the ongoing genocide. I.
- 44:12Don't want to keep saying it but I do anything.
- 44:15Only the Shiaki I know all. Muslims do, but to be honest,
- 44:18but I have. Leadership and leadership is
- 44:20very important to this because look, you can have a leader
- 44:22who's leading Israel, who's leading them to their own
- 44:24destruction. And ultimately, at the end of
- 44:25the day, what are they leading? They're leading on blood.
- 44:29They're leading on bombs. They're leading on what, Ahmed?
- 44:32And then look at the other world, the other side of this
- 44:34coin, right? Look at their leadership level.
- 44:38Look at their skill set, look at how they govern, look at how
- 44:41they speak, how they treat civilians.
- 44:43How bro, it's mad. It's mad.
- 44:46I guess there's no comparison between the two.
- 44:49It's like North Pole and South Pole, Hudson and Botham, truth
- 44:54and falsehood, Yazid, Mahalia Hussein and Al Hassan.
- 44:57Look at it, It's that clear. But we've allowed it to reach
- 45:02that stage. Same thing if we go back in
- 45:04Islamic history and maybe for the sake of unity, I don't
- 45:09mention everything, but if we go back to Islamic history, I think
- 45:13I generally believe this and I may be wrong in my my thoughts,
- 45:16right? But the reason why the majority
- 45:18of the Muslim world is asleep and don't give a flying monkey.
- 45:22And I don't want to use that word.
- 45:23I'll prefer to use other words, but flying monkey is the most
- 45:25respectful thing right now on this podcast.
- 45:27Is that because if we go look at previous leaders in Islamic
- 45:32history, this was the norm, This was normal, safe Allah.
- 45:37Whether he's fighting for the justice of Allah, whatever he
- 45:40says, it's pooja. He doesn't care.
- 45:42He doesn't care. He wants to kill.
- 45:43We, we go kill. He wants to rape and assault one
- 45:46of the companions of Rasul Allah or rape his his mother, rape his
- 45:51wife. Sorry, Khalid bin Walid say as
- 45:53it is right, but we call him safe Allah.
- 45:56We our, this is our problem. We know it's wrong and we say no
- 46:01problem, only God can judge them.
- 46:02And This is why Philistine is where it is today.
- 46:05It's part of the problem is that as I'm trying, I'm trying to not
- 46:10not not make it sectarian here, Ahmed.
- 46:12But I think this is reality. And I think everyone should
- 46:14question themselves that the reason why the majority of the
- 46:17Muslim world is asleep is that history repeats itself.
- 46:21And look at our own history. Where are the leaders of the
- 46:24Muslim world? They were killing those on hack.
- 46:27They were shedding the blood of those.
- 46:29We wanted to instill the laws of Allah, Subhanahu wata Allah.
- 46:32They didn't care. They cared about what power,
- 46:35they cared about fame and rain and land and conquering other
- 46:40lands as well, right? They all talk about this golden
- 46:42age of Muslims, you know, conquering the world and
- 46:45spreading Islam. So I think Islam by what, When
- 46:48Rasul Allah said, you know, Islam was like spread and saved
- 46:52with the sword of Ali and the wolf of Khadijah.
- 46:56I mean he speaks about the sword that he's talking about defence,
- 47:00not this bloodthirsty offence. Yeah, right.
- 47:03Anyhow, your thoughts? No, I think there's there's a
- 47:06lot to unpack there. Look, a year ago I I put on
- 47:11Instagram, I think two or three days after the conflict started,
- 47:15I basically had a bit of a rant. Someone from my following list
- 47:20screenshotted it and shared it on a WhatsApp group.
- 47:22Before I know it did the rounds in the community.
- 47:24They came back to me a few times, but in essence, I'm, I, I
- 47:27ranted a bit because I think probably three or four days
- 47:30after the genocide began, I was like, where are half of the
- 47:36community? And in terms of our community,
- 47:39and I still feel a level of frustration personally speaking,
- 47:42because we look to our scholars, we look to our community
- 47:47leaders, we look to those who are well known and respected in
- 47:50our communities to be those who lead US in voice and in pen and
- 47:57those who represent our Arcada through their action and their
- 48:01words. Till now, we still see
- 48:05organizations. We still see individuals who we
- 48:10have had high respect for over the years when it comes to their
- 48:14level of religious knowledge or their level of involvement for
- 48:17the community, but who have not said a word about Palestine or
- 48:20who have been very minimalistic just to kind of do a tick box
- 48:24when it comes to it as well. So that obviously annoys me.
- 48:29And now with Lebanon, I mentioned this last week like
- 48:32you're now speaking up. What's the difference?
- 48:34There's a clear difference there.
- 48:35It's because one Sunni and one Shia.
- 48:37In terms of the second thing you mentioned about the Muslim
- 48:40leaders and history repeating itself.
- 48:43Ultimately history will repeat itself.
- 48:44Our last part of the Allah tells us in the Quran so many on so
- 48:48many occasions about do you not reflect on multiple occasions.
- 48:51I was actually on a like I was doing a class couple of days ago
- 48:57and the the topic of discussion was reflection and how many
- 49:00instances in the hood of Qadhan a last panel to other tells us
- 49:03do not think, do not reflect and he tells us that as a rhetorical
- 49:08question why to try and like shake us like wake up, think
- 49:12about what's around you think about if it's happened before.
- 49:15Have we learnt our lesson as a race?
- 49:17Do you know what I mean? And perhaps not.
- 49:19And the last thing, actually the first thing you mentioned, but
- 49:22the last thing I'll say is you talked about, you said, do they,
- 49:28do they feel no shame or no pity for those children that they're
- 49:34murdering? Currently, you know, apparently
- 49:3818,000 children have been killed in Gaza apparently, and
- 49:41apparently 300 kids have been killed in Lebanon.
- 49:45I don't believe those statistics because we know from The Lancet
- 49:48journal that between 2 and 300,000 people have been killed
- 49:52by Israel in the last year directly or indirectly and even
- 49:57indirectly still directly because you're bombing
- 50:00hospitals, people lose their lives because they have no
- 50:03access to medical care. We're talking about people who,
- 50:07for example, and I've just got it here, Isaac Herzog, president
- 50:12of Israel, said. There are no innocent civilians
- 50:16in Gaza. 2 million people, the most dense population on earth
- 50:20and the smallest strip of land on earth, half of which are
- 50:24children. There are no civilians who are
- 50:28innocent in Gaza. Let's process that.
- 50:31You're telling me that of those two million, of which one
- 50:35million are under 18, IE what they were born in 2006 when the
- 50:40last conflict happened, there is no innocence there.
- 50:44Another example, the defence minister, the defence minister,
- 50:49who we call the terror minister, you have gallon absolute animal,
- 50:53he said. I'm saying to the civilians,
- 50:55this is last November, because I'm saying to the civilians of
- 50:58Lebanon, if Hezbollah makes mistakes of this kind, the ones
- 51:02yada yada, yada, yada, what we are doing in Gaza, we know how
- 51:06to do it in Beirut. The signs have been there, the
- 51:09desire to divide and conquer has been there again and again and
- 51:14again. The dehumanization, the
- 51:15marginalization that people in Gaza have been seeing for 76
- 51:19years is now coming to the brim. And people are now just starting
- 51:23to see that this narrative of cleansing of, of just
- 51:28eradicating the existence of all people, treating people like
- 51:32their subservience is absolutely atrocious.
- 51:36And now it's would be, we're seeing that in the form of
- 51:39violence and aggression towards the Palestinian people.
- 51:41So do they have go back to the question, do they have no shame?
- 51:45No, they don't have any shame. They don't care whether it's
- 51:4818,000 kids who are being killed, 100,000 kids who have
- 51:51been killed, a million kids who have been killed.
- 51:53To be really frank, there's they say it in their own words, there
- 51:58is no innocence, no, no innocence if it is in Gaza.
- 52:02So we won't rest until we achieve liberation for the
- 52:05Palestinian people. And I don't think a lot of
- 52:07people will. I think one thing we've seen
- 52:10over the last year is we've seen people from all corners of the
- 52:13globe come together to stand for Palestine and now for Lebanon.
- 52:17We've seen people who have different backgrounds, different
- 52:19social classes, different community origins come together
- 52:23for one core reason. That causes liberation, that
- 52:26causes resistance, and we're seeing that day-to-day.
- 52:29I think everyone should be very proud of themselves.
- 52:31It's so true. And you know, the beautiful
- 52:32thing about when we see, you know, the people who come out
- 52:36and support of being anti genocidal, right, in support of,
- 52:41let's say, Palestinian resistance and the Lebanese
- 52:44resistance is that they're not just Muslim.
- 52:47Yeah, they're from all walks of life, from different faiths,
- 52:52different races, different backgrounds.
- 52:54And what unites all of them? What is it?
- 52:56Humanity absent. Yeah.
- 52:57And if you don't see something wrong and if you don't speak up
- 53:01against it, there's something wrong with your humanity.
- 53:03You are not human. Yeah, ultimately, you're not
- 53:05human. And if it doesn't affect you, if
- 53:07it doesn't pain you, if it doesn't make you even lift your
- 53:10hands and make dua for them, there's something definitely
- 53:12wrong with you. And now it's spreading.
- 53:14It's like a cancer. I said it last week.
- 53:16If, if there's no end to this entity, they're going to come
- 53:19for everyone, not just me and you.
- 53:21They're going to come for every land possible.
- 53:23Well, they will. What they don't know is we have
- 53:27a leader and he's alive and he's well and he can't be located and
- 53:32they won't, they will not be able to target him.
- 53:35And we await him in Sharla. When he comes, we'll be ready.
- 53:37In Sharla, we hope to prepare and develop our communities and
- 53:41such that we're ready to welcome him with open arms.
- 53:43And we pray that he will welcome us into his circle, his
- 53:46government, his, his answer with open arms, Charlotte.
- 53:49That's our Tarana when Iraq, the Allah hasten his reappearance.
- 53:52Charlotte and I mean, but this is just to wrap up.
