- 0:13Speaker 1: Hello you guys.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Welcome back to another episode of the Hawkerel Energy Podcast.
- 0:17Speaker 2: I'm your host, Kayleie, and this is your weekly reminder
- 0:19Speaker 2: that it's a new day, a new week, a new mindset,
- 0:22Speaker 2: and another day for you to become the Hawkerel Energy
- 0:24Speaker 2: you want to attract. We are officially home from Costa Rica.
- 0:30Speaker 2: I promise you guys a little recap of the trip.
- 0:33Speaker 2: I'm here with my sister. Hi, she's back. That's your
- 0:36Speaker 2: little recap. So we got home Friday, Yeah, last Friday,
- 0:42Speaker 2: and we had the weekend to kind of just like
- 0:44Speaker 2: decompressed from the trip.
- 0:45Speaker 1: We got home pretty late.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Yeah, we got home at like, I want to say, midnight. Yeah,
- 0:50Speaker 2: I was in bed. I looked at the time it
- 0:52Speaker 2: was like one am or something like that. Yeah. Same here,
- 0:55Speaker 2: because by the time you get home, bring your suitcase up, unpacked,
- 0:58Speaker 2: like your toilet creeze, like brush your teeth and whatever.
- 1:00Speaker 2: And by the time you get in bed and all that,
- 1:02Speaker 2: I feel like it just was like it was one am.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Yeah. So yeah, we got home pretty late. I don't
- 1:07Speaker 1: know what you did Saturday.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I spent the whole morning unpacking because I just
- 1:13Speaker 2: wanted to like get it out of the way, and
- 1:16Speaker 2: one thing we do. I don't know if everyone else
- 1:18Speaker 2: does this, but typically what I do is I put
- 1:23Speaker 2: I separate all my dirty clothes and my clean clothes. Yeah,
- 1:25Speaker 2: but even with my clean clothes, I'll still do like
- 1:28Speaker 2: a quick round, yes, in the dryer for like fifteen minutes,
- 1:32Speaker 2: just to like wash off anything that.
- 1:35Speaker 1: All the germs. Yeah.
- 1:38Speaker 2: So that's what I did in the morning, and then
- 1:40Speaker 2: I just like unpacked all of my toilet trees and honestly,
- 1:43Speaker 2: it felt so good to like completely unpack.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Everything unpacked by like nine am. Yeah.
- 1:50Speaker 2: I remember I called Kaylee and I was like, I'm
- 1:52Speaker 2: completely unpacked and she was like, what, Like.
- 1:54Speaker 1: I didn't start.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I didn't start till like eleven. Like I always
- 1:58Speaker 2: do an unpack the day after because I just want
- 2:00Speaker 2: to get out of the way. As you said, yeah,
- 2:02Speaker 2: if I don't do it right away, it will just
- 2:03Speaker 2: sit on the floor in my room and just collect us.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Well for me too, I also had to catch up
- 2:09Speaker 2: with work on the weekend, so I told myself, Okay,
- 2:13Speaker 2: Saturday is just going to be like unpacking work, like
- 2:17Speaker 2: all the things I don't really want to do, but
- 2:19Speaker 2: get it out of the way on Saturday. That way,
- 2:22Speaker 2: Sunday I can just chill. Yeah, that's what I wanted
- 2:25Speaker 2: to do. So I unpacked all morning and then pretty
- 2:28Speaker 2: much the rest of the day I just caught up
- 2:31Speaker 2: on work stuff and then yeah, I was done really early,
- 2:35Speaker 2: which was great.
- 2:36Speaker 1: And then Sunday I just chilled. Yeah.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I started unpacking it like eleven, did everything probably
- 2:41Speaker 2: within the hour.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Same thing.
- 2:42Speaker 2: I separated all like my bikinis and whites and darks
- 2:46Speaker 2: for like putting it in the laundry. And I did
- 2:49Speaker 2: a whole load of laundry on Saturday and literally just
- 2:51Speaker 2: like chilled, watched the Olympics with Zach.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Like it was a very chill day.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Yeah, but anyways, let's going it back to Costa Rica.
- 2:58Speaker 2: We stayed at a hotel called the W Hotel, which
- 3:01Speaker 2: is owned by a Marriotte.
- 3:03Speaker 1: So it was a beautiful.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Hotel, so like it was so so nice. The hotel
- 3:09Speaker 2: was pretty new from our understanding, a few years or so. Yeah, yeah,
- 3:13Speaker 2: I was a few years old, and it was just
- 3:16Speaker 2: like such a beautiful part of Costa Rica. We had
- 3:19Speaker 2: the mountain views, the beach had zero seaweed, which I
- 3:23Speaker 2: feel like it's really hard to find this time of
- 3:26Speaker 2: the year. I feel like Mexico is a you know,
- 3:28Speaker 2: that time of the year for us when we travel
- 3:29Speaker 2: to Mexico, there's always a lot of seaweed, you know,
- 3:32Speaker 2: to Cana. Yeah, Puda Cana too. And we literally just
- 3:35Speaker 2: kept saying the whole time, like it was really giving
- 3:38Speaker 2: like Cabo.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Vibes, like with the mountains.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, neither of us have been to Cabo,
- 3:42Speaker 2: but like based on pick pictures, it was kind of
- 3:46Speaker 2: giving that vibe, which we love that vibe, so it
- 3:49Speaker 2: was kind of.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Nice to have that.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Yeah, agreed, And Costa Rica's food was incredible.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:55Speaker 2: One thing for us is that we go away every
- 3:58Speaker 2: time around this time. Yeah, we always like itch for
- 4:01Speaker 2: a winter trip, just because obviously it's very cold here and.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Sometimes you just need some time to get away. And
- 4:06Speaker 1: I truly do fine.
- 4:07Speaker 2: It helps for mental health, like just paying for that trip,
- 4:10Speaker 2: getting that one week out of this forward to yeah,
- 4:12Speaker 2: getting that one week away and just like enjoying some sunshine,
- 4:15Speaker 2: Like I feel a lot better coming back with the
- 4:17Speaker 2: tian and just like feeling really good. But I would
- 4:20Speaker 2: say this was probably my favorite winter trip that I've
- 4:23Speaker 2: ever been on, only because the beaches was. The beach
- 4:27Speaker 2: was really good, the food was really good, the service
- 4:29Speaker 2: was great.
- 4:29Speaker 1: The hotel was beautiful.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Like I will say, typically on any other vacation we've
- 4:36Speaker 2: been on in the winter, I don't really look forward
- 4:39Speaker 2: to any of the meals, like dinner, Like I'm not
- 4:43Speaker 2: really like, oh my god, I'm so excited to eat.
- 4:45Speaker 1: But it was kind of trip. It's like survival moment.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Yeah, this trip, I kid you not. I was so
- 4:52Speaker 2: excited for dinner every single night, and for our breakfast.
- 4:56Speaker 2: We had the most amazing breakfast. Like I We'll say
- 5:00Speaker 2: breakfast and dinner were just the two meals I was
- 5:03Speaker 2: so excited for and like looking forward to.
- 5:06Speaker 1: And I typically don't, I think with the.
- 5:09Speaker 2: All inclusives, like we always say, like the first day
- 5:13Speaker 2: is that day. We were really experimenting, yeah, like anything
- 5:16Speaker 2: and everything, and it's kind of stressful, especially because when
- 5:19Speaker 2: you're traveling you don't really know how.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Your stomach's going to handle certain things either.
- 5:23Speaker 2: So this resort, it wasn't an all inclusive, but we
- 5:26Speaker 2: thought it might have been a better choice for our
- 5:29Speaker 2: family to not do an all inclusive, just because we
- 5:31Speaker 2: don't really eat not very much or drink a lot.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Like if you love to drink and you love to
- 5:37Speaker 2: eat like big portions, I totally get it, Like so
- 5:40Speaker 2: worth the money when you do an all inclusive, But
- 5:42Speaker 2: for us, like Madison and I would like literally eat breakfast,
- 5:45Speaker 2: have literally the smallest lunch ever, Like we would barely
- 5:48Speaker 2: get any food, and then dinner we'd just have like
- 5:51Speaker 2: a pasta and pizza or I don't even know, like
- 5:53Speaker 2: we just didn't we don't really get like a bunch
- 5:55Speaker 2: of appetizers. Yeah, what was really nice is that our
- 5:58Speaker 2: hotel kind of organized a lot of things. And one
- 6:02Speaker 2: of the things it organized was a shuttle to take
- 6:05Speaker 2: you to grocery store shopping. So that was really nice
- 6:08Speaker 2: for us because we did that what the second day,
- 6:11Speaker 2: and we were able to get like little snacks like
- 6:14Speaker 2: chips and just the little things. That way, you know,
- 6:17Speaker 2: if we had a small lunch and we were still hungry,
- 6:20Speaker 2: we could just lunch on some chips or whatever. I
- 6:24Speaker 2: will say, the only con about this hotel is that
- 6:26Speaker 2: it only had three restaurants. Yeah, which typically an inclusive
- 6:30Speaker 2: I think there's like five to seven to choose from,
- 6:32Speaker 2: So that's typically.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Kind of nice.
- 6:33Speaker 2: But at the end of the day, all three restaurants
- 6:36Speaker 2: were incredible, Like, nothing bad to say about it.
- 6:38Speaker 1: I just think it kind of limits your options.
- 6:40Speaker 2: And we didn't really leave the resort only because it
- 6:44Speaker 2: was our first time in Costa Rica and the whole
- 6:46Speaker 2: purpose of this trip was really for us to like relax,
- 6:49Speaker 2: get some sun, go to the ocean, go in the pool,
- 6:52Speaker 2: like we didn't really like care to do like hikes
- 6:54Speaker 2: and waterfalls. And don't get me wrong, there's a lot
- 6:56Speaker 2: of amazing things that you could do in Costa Rica
- 6:59Speaker 2: that we planned to do the next time we visit. Yeah,
- 7:02Speaker 2: I think like as it was our first time, we
- 7:03Speaker 2: kind of just we didn't really know. But I will
- 7:06Speaker 2: say and me and Kelly were both saying this that
- 7:08Speaker 2: by the last day I was bored.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Yeah, we got our relaxation in.
- 7:13Speaker 2: So if I were to ever go back to cost Rico,
- 7:15Speaker 2: which I hope we do, yeah, I would maybe do
- 7:18Speaker 2: one or two days of excursions and then other days
- 7:21Speaker 2: relaxing because then I probably by the last day I
- 7:23Speaker 2: wouldn't feel bored because we would have had other stuff
- 7:27Speaker 2: to do. But I swear literally the last day I
- 7:29Speaker 2: was like sunned out. Yeah, I was kind of getting bored.
- 7:32Speaker 2: I was like looking forward to actually going home. Like
- 7:35Speaker 2: the first three to four days of like reading our
- 7:37Speaker 2: book Chilling on the Beach. I loved that, and then
- 7:40Speaker 2: like as Madison said, the last two days we were
- 7:42Speaker 2: kind of like, now I will see. The hotel did
- 7:44Speaker 2: offer fun things to do, like forest back writing, atv ziplining.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Which is amazing, a golf course, but I.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Personally was telling Maddie like I didn't want to risk
- 7:55Speaker 2: my back injury with those things. All I could think
- 7:58Speaker 2: about was the horseback riding and me like just kind
- 8:00Speaker 2: of like tweaking my back the wrong way based off
- 8:02Speaker 2: of how the horse goes because they were like jumping
- 8:04Speaker 2: waves in the ocean, which is so cool. And then
- 8:07Speaker 2: like again ATVing, I don't know, I just kind of
- 8:09Speaker 2: got a little stress where I'm like, I don't think
- 8:11Speaker 2: I should risk this if my back, you know, gets
- 8:14Speaker 2: worse than it already is. It's definitely better, but it
- 8:17Speaker 2: just I wasn't willing to take that right.
- 8:18Speaker 1: We did do beach yoga because I wanted to do something,
- 8:21Speaker 1: so we did do beach yoga.
- 8:23Speaker 2: I've never done beach yoga before, and I will say
- 8:26Speaker 2: very peaceful and so nice, like the whole time, I
- 8:30Speaker 2: will say it was hard to hear the instructor because
- 8:33Speaker 2: of the waves, but also too, I love the sound
- 8:36Speaker 2: of the waves. Yeah, it was really nice, very calming,
- 8:39Speaker 2: and yeah, it was just it was beautiful. Yeah, so
- 8:42Speaker 2: ten out of ten recommend Costa Rica. We really loved
- 8:45Speaker 2: a resort. I can link it in the description of
- 8:48Speaker 2: this podcast episode for anyone that's looking to book future travels.
- 8:51Speaker 2: But we really loved it and we definitely would go
- 8:54Speaker 2: back in the future. So yeah, but now we've been
- 8:57Speaker 2: trying to get back into routine. We've been trying to
- 8:59Speaker 2: get back into this swing of things. We were kind
- 9:01Speaker 2: of chatting on FaceTime when was it yesterday, just kind
- 9:05Speaker 2: of like chatting about how sometimes it can be hard
- 9:08Speaker 2: to get back into a routine post travels because you
- 9:10Speaker 2: build a routine on a trip. Like of course, Madison
- 9:13Speaker 2: and I would wake up, we'd go in a morning walk,
- 9:16Speaker 2: we outside, which is like amazing, and sometimes we'd walk
- 9:20Speaker 2: on the beach and then we'd go for breakfast, you know,
- 9:22Speaker 2: order our favorite breakfast that we loved at the restaurant,
- 9:25Speaker 2: and then you come back to reality and we're like, oh, okay,
- 9:28Speaker 2: we got to go back to what we were doing
- 9:29Speaker 2: before and getting ourselves back into that motivation of like
- 9:34Speaker 2: getting back into a workout routine or.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Whatever the case thing is.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Yeah, Like I will say, for me, this has probably
- 9:41Speaker 2: been the most unproductive week I've ever had because I'm
- 9:46Speaker 2: trying to just get back into my routine. Like I'm
- 9:49Speaker 2: not working out very consistently. I feel like I'm struggling
- 9:52Speaker 2: to focus with work, Like everything just feels so chaotic
- 9:56Speaker 2: and off because I'm an off yeah, and I'm just
- 9:58Speaker 2: I'm not like usually when I'm home, I had this
- 10:01Speaker 2: routine that I like to do every single day, and
- 10:04Speaker 2: I've really been struggling with that. But I feel like
- 10:06Speaker 2: it's also so normal when you come back from a trip,
- 10:09Speaker 2: Like everything's so chaotic. You're trying to get back into
- 10:13Speaker 2: that routine that you had before your trip, and I've
- 10:17Speaker 2: just accepted it that this is a week, Like I
- 10:19Speaker 2: feel like today is actually the first day where you know,
- 10:22Speaker 2: I finally feel productive. Yeah, well, even think about it,
- 10:26Speaker 2: it's not even about like a workout routine too. It's
- 10:27Speaker 2: like you're getting back into the swing of things for work,
- 10:30Speaker 2: and like you've just missed a week of work, so
- 10:31Speaker 2: now you're trying to catch up, playing catch up. Yeah,
- 10:33Speaker 2: same thing with me with my job, right Like I'm
- 10:35Speaker 2: getting all these texts from my manager saying like Okay,
- 10:38Speaker 2: I got to do this this, and I was like,
- 10:39Speaker 2: oh my god, Like you feel almost overwhelmed exactly. And
- 10:41Speaker 2: then it's like, how do you fit everything with like
- 10:43Speaker 2: your workout routine, your you know, your work routine, whatever
- 10:47Speaker 2: the case is, just.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Your day to day routine.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Like I just feel like everything's you can't be too
- 10:51Speaker 2: hard on yourself during this time of the year, Like
- 10:53Speaker 2: you really just have to accept the small short period
- 10:57Speaker 2: of time that you're feeling a little overwhelmed and just
- 11:00Speaker 2: kind of slowly get back into Yeah, and I will
- 11:03Speaker 2: say the sun is worth it. Oh no, I feel
- 11:07Speaker 2: unproductive for a week for sun.
- 11:09Speaker 1: It's fine. No, it was very much worth it.
- 11:11Speaker 2: I really do feel like the sun healed us, Like
- 11:13Speaker 2: I feel so much better and a tan of course the.
- 11:16Speaker 1: Ten helps, but I feel a lot lot better. And
- 11:20Speaker 1: I feel like.
- 11:21Speaker 2: That was a much needed break as well, just like
- 11:23Speaker 2: getting away, not even just because of the sun, but
- 11:25Speaker 2: I think just like relaxing and not having anything to
- 11:28Speaker 2: really think about, Like they just read books every single
- 11:30Speaker 2: day and enjoyed each other's coming. The only stress we
- 11:33Speaker 2: had was where are we going to sit and what
- 11:35Speaker 2: are we going to eat.
- 11:36Speaker 1: For breakfast to day?
- 11:37Speaker 2: Do we want the toast, do we want the friends?
- 11:40Speaker 2: Do we want an ice lot day? I kept the
- 11:42Speaker 2: Cheetoh both, like like, yeah, this that's the most stressful
- 11:45Speaker 2: part on a trip. But as for me and my routine,
- 11:49Speaker 2: I feel like it's been a little off for me
- 11:50Speaker 2: too this week because I've also been making my house
- 11:53Speaker 2: a big priority. We're actually signing off on all of
- 11:56Speaker 2: our upgrades today, so that has been really stressful these
- 11:59Speaker 2: past days, just kind of confirming everything for the house
- 12:03Speaker 2: and then like once you sign off, you're done, Like
- 12:05Speaker 2: you can't.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Go back and change things.
- 12:07Speaker 2: So I feel like that's obviously really stressful and I'm
- 12:10Speaker 2: a very indecisive person, so.
- 12:11Speaker 1: It's been a challenge.
- 12:13Speaker 2: But I'm actually really happy with how the elections went,
- 12:17Speaker 2: and I think it's going to turn out beautiful and
- 12:19Speaker 2: I'm very excited to show you guys some updates on that.
- 12:22Speaker 2: So for me, you know, that's been a bigger priority
- 12:24Speaker 2: for me just kind of finish that off getting back
- 12:26Speaker 2: into work. Obviously, I'm still not working out with my back,
- 12:30Speaker 2: so I've been walking every single morning, so I've been
- 12:32Speaker 2: making that a non negotiable and stretching, and yeah, I
- 12:36Speaker 2: don't know, I kind of love jumping back into those
- 12:38Speaker 2: things for me, Like, even though it can be difficult
- 12:40Speaker 2: to do everything, I still try and make it a priority,
- 12:44Speaker 2: even if it's only for like twenty minutes, like putting
- 12:46Speaker 2: a walk. Like you, for example, you went for a
- 12:48Speaker 2: walk this morning, Like, yeah, took that time to like
- 12:50Speaker 2: dedicate that time to doing that, and it's you know,
- 12:53Speaker 2: sometimes it can be hard to manage your times effectively,
- 12:56Speaker 2: especially when you jump into a work week that gets
- 12:58Speaker 2: really busy from the post travels. But even if you
- 13:00Speaker 2: can dedicate a small portion of your time at night
- 13:03Speaker 2: or on your lunch break, like just finding time to
- 13:06Speaker 2: move your body or journal or meditate whatever like helps
- 13:09Speaker 2: you just kind of like destress. And just like, I
- 13:11Speaker 2: don't know, I think it's so important to do that
- 13:13Speaker 2: also too. I don't know if you're feeling this way
- 13:16Speaker 2: with work, And it's not just specifically for me with work,
- 13:19Speaker 2: but just like in general, I feel like January felt
- 13:23Speaker 2: very very slow, and then I feel like we went
- 13:26Speaker 2: on our trail and we came back and now it's
- 13:28Speaker 2: like like high speed, like just with everything. Like I
- 13:31Speaker 2: feel like I'm having so many plans with friends, like
- 13:34Speaker 2: birthdays are coming up, you know, people want to see
- 13:36Speaker 2: me after my trip, so it's like dinner plans and
- 13:39Speaker 2: I'm like, you know, trying to catch up with work,
- 13:41Speaker 2: and I'm like, we just went from slow to like
- 13:44Speaker 2: high speed in like a week. No January, I was
- 13:47Speaker 2: telling them January was the longest month ever, I know.
- 13:50Speaker 2: And then I actually think our vacation was the perfect
- 13:52Speaker 2: timing because now I feel like we're almost halfway through February,
- 13:55Speaker 2: which is wild.
- 13:56Speaker 1: What was the thing you told me again?
- 13:58Speaker 2: Like it was like a TikTok or it's like February short,
- 14:01Speaker 2: March goes by fast, so it's basically summer. Yeah, it
- 14:05Speaker 2: was February's officially here, which means March, which means spring
- 14:10Speaker 2: is basically here with March and April comes around and
- 14:13Speaker 2: things are melting and so it's a basically.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Soccer or something like that, which is so true.
- 14:17Speaker 2: So I do think February is gonna go by so fast,
- 14:20Speaker 2: and we're gonna be in March and we're gonna like
- 14:21Speaker 2: what the heck, guys, if like those two months just
- 14:24Speaker 2: flew by, but no, January was a very long month
- 14:27Speaker 2: and I'm very happy that it's over.
- 14:30Speaker 1: But yeah, always is like that.
- 14:32Speaker 2: I always feel like every single year, January, like February
- 14:36Speaker 2: is still kind of like not that it's slow, but
- 14:39Speaker 2: like you're still in those like winter blues. But January
- 14:43Speaker 2: is just like awful, like remove it from the calendar.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Like yeah, I hate it. I don't want it, you
- 14:48Speaker 1: know what.
- 14:48Speaker 2: I feel like the first week of January and because
- 14:50Speaker 2: you're motivated for the new goals, and then you're like, oh,
- 14:53Speaker 2: but we're still in January. Oh we're still like it
- 14:56Speaker 2: just it feels like it never ends. It's just and
- 14:58Speaker 2: I hate that it goes to the first But anyways,
- 15:01Speaker 2: it's nice that Leapier is not happening this year.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Since February twenty eighth, I believe, yeah, it's gonna be
- 15:07Speaker 1: the end.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Which is little nice tweet anything that I'll get us
- 15:10Speaker 2: closer to summer. Because I was telling Gaily about this,
- 15:14Speaker 2: like we were getting such a good tan in Costa Rica,
- 15:19Speaker 2: and I came back and I went out with a
- 15:21Speaker 2: friend for dinner. So I got already and I was
- 15:24Speaker 2: looking at myself in the mirror, and I literally wanted
- 15:26Speaker 2: to cry because I was like, this tan's not gonna.
- 15:29Speaker 1: Last, It's gonna be gone a tweet.
- 15:32Speaker 2: It's just so sad, Like I just all I want
- 15:35Speaker 2: to do is keep my tan, And like me and
- 15:37Speaker 2: Kaily have been like lotioning every single day, like Killie's like,
- 15:41Speaker 2: are you peeling, I'm like, oh, I hope not, Like
- 15:44Speaker 2: I just yeah, I just want to try to keep
- 15:46Speaker 2: the tan for as long as possible. So I've just
- 15:50Speaker 2: been lotioning like crazy, and I was literally searching for
- 15:53Speaker 2: like self tanner's, like best self tanners that look real,
- 15:58Speaker 2: because yeah, it's just it's hard. I need summer desperately.
- 16:03Speaker 2: It's not even like like I'm sure not everybody maybe
- 16:05Speaker 2: feels the same way of like they don't need to
- 16:07Speaker 2: be tanned, if confident, wherever the case may be. But
- 16:10Speaker 2: I think because we are all of skin tones, like
- 16:12Speaker 2: we're meant to be dark, like we're Italian. So I
- 16:15Speaker 2: feel like for us, like I've seen actually a TikTok
- 16:18Speaker 2: trend where people are like the pros and cons to
- 16:20Speaker 2: being olive skin tone, yeah you know cone and it's
- 16:23Speaker 2: like you're literally like, you know, really not yourself and
- 16:25Speaker 2: then you're really tann in the summer, but like that's
- 16:28Speaker 2: what your true you think your true color.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Is, if that makes sense.
- 16:30Speaker 2: It's funny because I feel like with our skin tone,
- 16:33Speaker 2: specifically in the winter, we get so white, yeah, whereas
- 16:39Speaker 2: in the summer we get so incredibly tann.
- 16:42Speaker 1: Like it's too extreme. Yeah, exactly.
- 16:44Speaker 2: And that's why I think it's hit. It hits us
- 16:46Speaker 2: so different, like, yeah, if you are like a like,
- 16:50Speaker 2: if you don't have all of skin tone like us,
- 16:52Speaker 2: I feel like it's a little different.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Maybe maybe yeah, I don't know.
- 16:55Speaker 2: But for us, it's just it feels like too extremely
- 16:59Speaker 2: it is. It is really too streams and I think
- 17:01Speaker 2: that's what gets in our head a little bit.
- 17:02Speaker 1: But it's like we know our potential in the summer. Yeah,
- 17:06Speaker 1: and so it's.
- 17:07Speaker 2: Like you're craving that. Don't ever look at pictures of
- 17:10Speaker 2: yourself in the summer. Every time he was like scrolling
- 17:14Speaker 2: and I'm like, wow, who is that? Yeah?
- 17:16Speaker 1: I saw I was pretty. I was pretty in the summer.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Now we're looking okay.
- 17:22Speaker 2: But anyways, I think it's honestly the mental thing. But
- 17:26Speaker 2: for us, we just feel really good.
- 17:27Speaker 1: With the tam I kind of wanted to also.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Chat about Valentines just kind of like some things you
- 17:33Speaker 2: can do with your girlfriend or with your husband to
- 17:37Speaker 2: get yourself in like the Valentine's Day mood. I love
- 17:40Speaker 2: this time of the year. I love all the pink,
- 17:42Speaker 2: I love the red cards. There's so many people doing
- 17:44Speaker 2: like Valentine's Day launches.
- 17:46Speaker 1: Of like clothing. I love.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Hark came out with a really cute, like pink and
- 17:50Speaker 2: red track suit, just like a bunch of like fun
- 17:54Speaker 2: brands have done obviously a lot of like Valentine's Day launches,
- 17:56Speaker 2: and I just think it's so fun to like you. Yeah,
- 18:00Speaker 2: I've been trying a lot of new recipes out, so
- 18:02Speaker 2: I've been loving this one recipe.
- 18:04Speaker 1: That I tried two years ago. It's a Greek yogurt
- 18:08Speaker 1: strawberry stuffed chocolate. Yeah you didn't tell me about it. Yes,
- 18:13Speaker 1: it's so good.
- 18:14Speaker 2: You put maple syrup, Greek yogurt, strawberries, you cut them up,
- 18:17Speaker 2: and then you melt chocolate, put it in the freezer
- 18:20Speaker 2: and you take a bite. And you need to try that.
- 18:23Speaker 2: So like something like that, like if you have a
- 18:25Speaker 2: Gallentine's Day thing with your girlfriends this weekend, Like if
- 18:28Speaker 2: you need to make a little aptizer or dessert that
- 18:31Speaker 2: is so good. Also, I feel like one thing that
- 18:36Speaker 2: always hits, especially during Valentine's Day is a candy salad.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Yes, oh my goodness, I love those.
- 18:42Speaker 2: When people go to the or the grocery store pick
- 18:46Speaker 2: up all the like like I love those, like those
- 18:48Speaker 2: lips that are like hot hot.
- 18:51Speaker 1: I forget the hot lips.
- 18:53Speaker 2: I think is maybe I love those and just like
- 18:57Speaker 2: put a bunch of different candies together and then make
- 19:01Speaker 2: a salad. That's also a really good idea for like
- 19:04Speaker 2: a Gallantines thing. I feel like that, love that, and
- 19:07Speaker 2: I love when there's like different like heart shape gummies
- 19:10Speaker 2: or like red cinnamon hearts and you can literally mix up.
- 19:14Speaker 2: I used to be so obsessed with cinnamon hearts, Like
- 19:19Speaker 2: I would literally stalk up during Valentine's Day for cinnamon
- 19:23Speaker 2: hearts because they're seasonal, right, like you can't get them. Well,
- 19:26Speaker 2: maybe you can, but I feel like I would always
- 19:28Speaker 2: stalk up. And then now I feel like I love
- 19:31Speaker 2: the taste of them, but I hate that they're like hard,
- 19:36Speaker 2: like a huge handful to shove in your med I'm
- 19:39Speaker 2: like a huge cinnamon girl, So like any candy that cinnamon.
- 19:42Speaker 2: I'm like obsessed, And it's just funny because I used
- 19:45Speaker 2: to be so so obsessed with cinnamon hearts. I think
- 19:48Speaker 2: zachs also, yeah, Zach's with cinnamon hearts. But now I
- 19:52Speaker 2: feel like I'm like, Okay, I still love the taste,
- 19:55Speaker 2: but I'd rather something chocolate.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Oh, I'd rather chocolate. Chocolate around. The love chocolate.
- 20:00Speaker 2: It's an addiction, I know, And especially the Valentine's Day chocolates.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Oh it's so good. Yeah, they have like these little
- 20:06Speaker 1: hearts that have like stuffed caramel. I do.
- 20:09Speaker 2: I do love chocolate too, but I've always been like
- 20:11Speaker 2: a hot candy kind of girl, like hot to Mollie's.
- 20:15Speaker 2: My mom brought home Hot to Mollie's yesterday and I
- 20:19Speaker 2: was sitting in bed working on a presentation for work,
- 20:23Speaker 2: and I was like stress working because I was just
- 20:25Speaker 2: trying to get this done and like still playing catch up.
- 20:28Speaker 2: I literally ate the whole I literally eat the whole container.
- 20:32Speaker 2: And I didn't even realize. I was like, oh my god,
- 20:34Speaker 2: I'm stress eating. Yeah.
- 20:36Speaker 1: Yeah, but yeah.
- 20:37Speaker 2: Every year, Zach usually gets me flowers and chocolate because
- 20:40Speaker 2: he knows that's two things that are my love language,
- 20:43Speaker 2: and I love it every.
- 20:43Speaker 1: Single year, like just the small little gesture.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Also for the single girlies out there, I feel like,
- 20:50Speaker 2: if you know, maybe you're feeling a bit sad that
- 20:52Speaker 2: you don't have a Valentine. Honestly, I think I'm going
- 20:55Speaker 2: to do this for myself is go by myself flowers. Yeah,
- 20:58Speaker 2: I feel like it feels so good go to see
- 21:01Speaker 2: flowers and even buying them for yourself, I feel like
- 21:05Speaker 2: feels even better.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I get to pick these. Now.
- 21:08Speaker 2: You should go to a cute little floral boutique and
- 21:12Speaker 2: like pick out the ones that you love. Craz a
- 21:15Speaker 2: little arrangement I love instead of like just going to
- 21:18Speaker 2: the grocery door and buying like a random Okay, you
- 21:19Speaker 2: can make one yourself. Feels more personal. You can pick
- 21:22Speaker 2: the colors of like the pinks and the reds or whatever,
- 21:25Speaker 2: and then maybe make a little tree, like a little
- 21:27Speaker 2: chocolate tree, like what you were saying, or just or
- 21:30Speaker 2: go to bulk barn and like make your own little
- 21:32Speaker 2: candy stash.
- 21:33Speaker 1: I love that.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Yeah, are also too, like making something for your bestie
- 21:38Speaker 2: like a Valentine's boo.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Basket or something like that. Yeah, so cute. I love
- 21:43Speaker 1: boot baskets.
- 21:43Speaker 2: That's a great idea, or even just like planning a
- 21:45Speaker 2: little girls night just you and your bestie, doesn't have
- 21:47Speaker 2: to be a big group of people, maybe watching a
- 21:49Speaker 2: Valentine's Day themed movie. I have always loved Valentines, and
- 21:55Speaker 2: I've always loved organizing Gallentines because I just think it's
- 21:58Speaker 2: so fun to like organize a little thing but the
- 22:02Speaker 2: girl the girls.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Yeah, and last.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Year I actually organized with a bunch of my girlfriends
- 22:08Speaker 2: a little Gallantine's Night and we were painting.
- 22:12Speaker 1: Like we did like a little paint night, and it
- 22:14Speaker 1: was like you could get some wine. Yeah, hate something
- 22:17Speaker 1: I do that everybody in pink PJ.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Yes, Oh it was like a PJ only volunder party
- 22:24Speaker 2: or like sweatpants whatever. But it was definitely like Valentine's
- 22:27Speaker 2: Day PJ themed. And then I think I also did
- 22:30Speaker 2: where everybody bring their own little Valentine's Day treats, so
- 22:34Speaker 2: like one girl brought cookies, like everyone kind of brought
- 22:37Speaker 2: their own thing. And then I had all this paint
- 22:39Speaker 2: set up, and then I got everyone a little canvas.
- 22:42Speaker 1: We watched a movie.
- 22:43Speaker 2: And then we just like painted, And I'm trying to
- 22:46Speaker 2: organize the same thing this year. But I feel like
- 22:48Speaker 2: because I've been playing ketch up and like this week
- 22:51Speaker 2: is felt so chaotic, still trying to do it. It
- 22:54Speaker 2: just might be a little last minute, but yeah, I
- 22:57Speaker 2: think that's always so fun. I also love when people
- 23:00Speaker 2: paint like mugs, so imagine really a Valentine's Day inspired mug.
- 23:04Speaker 2: Like I saw someone do what are those little hearts,
- 23:07Speaker 2: like the ones that have cute little messages sweethearts too sweet?
- 23:12Speaker 2: Yeah whatever or XO x so, like I saw someone
- 23:15Speaker 2: make a mug like that.
- 23:17Speaker 1: That's so cute, so cute. I love that.
- 23:19Speaker 2: I've also seen people do like jewelry trays. Oh yeah,
- 23:25Speaker 2: so you like paint like a little jewelry train, like
- 23:28Speaker 2: put your jewelry on. And I've seen one girl do
- 23:31Speaker 2: like for like I think it was either her husband
- 23:34Speaker 2: did it or she did it for her husband's ring
- 23:36Speaker 2: and it says like I love you and like you
- 23:38Speaker 2: can put your ring or something like that.
- 23:41Speaker 1: That's a real wedding ring. That's a really nice Valentine's
- 23:44Speaker 1: they give.
- 23:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:46Speaker 1: Yeah, if you're married and you want a cute little
- 23:49Speaker 1: ringgether or paint it yourself. I mean to get maybe
- 23:52Speaker 1: your man not beating it. And maybe that's what it is. Well.
- 23:55Speaker 2: One thing I love to also do every year, not
- 23:57Speaker 2: necessarily around this time, but just like when I ever
- 24:00Speaker 2: throughout the year is I love going to a place
- 24:04Speaker 2: where what's it called pottery painting where you like paint
- 24:07Speaker 2: something and then they like burn it. Do you know
- 24:11Speaker 2: what I yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, it's pottery essentially, you know,
- 24:15Speaker 2: well there's like a specific name for it that I
- 24:17Speaker 2: can't think of. I don't know, but then it like
- 24:20Speaker 2: after you like essentially burn it or like would fire
- 24:24Speaker 2: it or something like that, it like creates this like
- 24:27Speaker 2: nice like effect.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Yeah, it's kind of like glossy, yes exactly.
- 24:32Speaker 2: So you could totally do that, and it's fun to
- 24:35Speaker 2: do with your girlfriend or your boyfriend. And yeah, I've
- 24:39Speaker 2: done that quite a few times and it's so fun.
- 24:42Speaker 1: We should actually do that.
- 24:43Speaker 2: We've been talking about doing that, and yeah we should
- 24:45Speaker 2: some of Like at least the place I've gone to,
- 24:47Speaker 2: they have like mugs, so you all you have to
- 24:49Speaker 2: do is just.
- 24:50Speaker 1: Essentially paint it.
- 24:52Speaker 2: They have like I'm pretty sure they have bowls, Like
- 24:54Speaker 2: I have a bowl that I made. I have a
- 24:57Speaker 2: jewelry tray as well that I've made, so yeah, you
- 24:59Speaker 2: could just make it Valentine's Day specific.
- 25:02Speaker 1: I just suck at painting. That's my issue.
- 25:04Speaker 2: Yeah, not very good, So I don't know how good
- 25:07Speaker 2: it will turn out, but you know what the efforts there.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Yeah, we're trying, honestly with that.
- 25:11Speaker 2: I feel like once they like, you know, put it
- 25:14Speaker 2: in the wood fire or whatever it's called, I.
- 25:18Speaker 1: Do bake it or yeah, I know what you're talking about.
- 25:20Speaker 1: We're trying to explain it like learning.
- 25:24Speaker 2: I find it like fixes mistakes I don't know, or
- 25:27Speaker 2: it doesn't show that, it doesn't show it as like
- 25:29Speaker 2: prominent because like I made a bowl once and I
- 25:32Speaker 2: could have sworn it looked so bad before going in,
- 25:36Speaker 2: and then when they gave it back to me, I
- 25:39Speaker 2: was like, wait, this is actually really good.
- 25:41Speaker 1: Oh so maybe they just so Yeah, I don't know.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Another idea that I do love too is like doing
- 25:47Speaker 2: a pizza night with your friends, like doing a heart
- 25:49Speaker 2: shape pizza that is so cute and you can make
- 25:51Speaker 2: like multiple different types of pizzas. You can do a
- 25:53Speaker 2: pesto pizza, a truffle pizza, pepperoni pizza, whatever, But like
- 25:57Speaker 2: that and like a girl's PJ movie night kind of
- 26:00Speaker 2: like that would be so fun to or you could
- 26:02Speaker 2: do that on Valentine's Day, like if you need a
- 26:04Speaker 2: plan with your husband or your boyfriend, like having a
- 26:07Speaker 2: chill night at home. We don't need to go to
- 26:08Speaker 2: a restaurant. Yeah, and like you know, two a dre
- 26:10Speaker 2: and fifty dollars on a dinner. You could just do
- 26:12Speaker 2: a pizza at home.
- 26:13Speaker 1: Make some pizzas and that's really fun.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Or you could also do with if you're doing like
- 26:18Speaker 2: a Gallantine's thing with your girlfriends is like each person
- 26:21Speaker 2: make like a cocktail or something like that, like always Valentine's.
- 26:24Speaker 1: Day themed cocktail.
- 26:26Speaker 2: I feel like that's always done around Christmas, but you
- 26:29Speaker 2: could totally also do it Valentine's Day. You could do
- 26:32Speaker 2: like a cinnamon heart mocktail or like cocktail.
- 26:35Speaker 1: Or something like that. Love that.
- 26:37Speaker 2: I also love the idea of doing a fondu, like
- 26:39Speaker 2: a chocolate fondu, cutting out fruits, so you could do
- 26:43Speaker 2: like seat strawberries. You can make it Valentine's Day theme, right,
- 26:45Speaker 2: you could find like anything breads, like raspberries.
- 26:48Speaker 1: I love the strawberries.
- 26:49Speaker 2: You can do bananas like white, like you kind of
- 26:51Speaker 2: like make the color all the theme of Valentine's and
- 26:55Speaker 2: do a like that is that's really well.
- 26:58Speaker 1: Again, I'm upsess with chocolate, so maybe that's why. But
- 27:00Speaker 1: I love that idea.
- 27:02Speaker 2: Yeah, that's such a fun idea of making a Valentine's
- 27:04Speaker 2: Day inspired. But I would love to do a Valentine's
- 27:08Speaker 2: But kind of like the same situation with Maddie because
- 27:10Speaker 2: this is like our first week back from our it
- 27:12Speaker 2: feels a little chaotic. I feel like with my house
- 27:14Speaker 2: and all that, I've just been of like overworking myself,
- 27:16Speaker 2: especially with work, trying to catch up on that. I
- 27:19Speaker 2: feel like February is also once again flying by, like
- 27:23Speaker 2: as if it's already like almost Valentine's Day. Like I
- 27:26Speaker 2: feel like we came back and it was like almost Valentine's.
- 27:29Speaker 1: Next week is the third week of February. Yeah, Like
- 27:31Speaker 1: that's insane, that's wild.
- 27:33Speaker 2: Like what Anyways, we're like already halfway through were literally
- 27:37Speaker 2: halfway through February, and it feels like February started yesterday.
- 27:40Speaker 1: I know, it's just crazy. It's so crazy.
- 27:42Speaker 2: But anyways, that is today's episode. We kind of just
- 27:45Speaker 2: wanted to chat all things about our trip. We wanted
- 27:48Speaker 2: to talk about just kind of us slowly getting back
- 27:51Speaker 2: into the routine of things being the first week back,
- 27:53Speaker 2: and also just kind of highlight Valentine's Day being this weekend.
- 27:57Speaker 2: But I hope you guys enjoyed this episode if you
